I realized that if SJ was selfloving selfish manipulative scum he would've survived so easily in pidw... Imagine if he asked YQY to get him out of prison or told LBH that he was "sorry" for what he did

yeah... that part of what makes him so tragic for all that haters like to call him "evil", its his acts of kindness that doom him. he saves shi wu and shi wu rats him out and has him sold to a sadistic pervert he drags qht to safety and she comes back to accuse him in the trial he tries to save lqg from qi deviating and gets accused of killing him

its like.... lbh has a protag halo where no matter what its impossible for him to fail, but it seems like sj has the absolute reverse. no matter how hard he tries things always come back to blow up in his face and everyone ends up thinking the worst of him there are worse characters in the novel. SQH and MBJ lead to the deaths of multiple ppl with the IAC invasion (AFTER SJ TRIED TO WARN ALL THE OTHER PLS THAT SQH WAS SUS), but no one ever blames them for that or calls them evil. opm is a pervert that lusts after and then ends up killing sxy, but people barely bat an eye at that. people love zzl even though he led to so many deaths in the plague arc and literally murdered gyx..... ive even seen people defending QJL..... the literal SLAVE OWNING SADIST PERVERT.... and saying sj should be GRATEFUL after being horrifically abused by him.... but somehow sj is the character that gets the most hate?

sj... the CHILD SLAVE ABUSE SURVIVOR sj is only set up as the 'villain' at the start of the novel to make a point about how sy is WRONG about him (and therefore, perhaps isnt as much of an 'expert' on everything else in the sv world as he originally thinks) .... like.... the whole POINT is that 99% of his crimes get proven to be untrue or misunderstandings !!!

ironically i feel like if he was an actual unrepentant evil villain people would like him more

instead, hes misunderstood by all the characters in the book AND by the fanbase. just for the crime of being an ACTUALLY realistic survivor

people say they want realistic and complex survivors in fiction, but then when we actually get them they go absolutely insane saying they were born evil and are inherently unlovable. even when mxtx was CLEARLY setting it up for all of that to be disproven... and even gives him his own extra to drive home the point...

like bro... he really was not that evil. hes a traumatized and complex character that tries his best to do good in a world where he absolutely is not rewarded for it

he’s a lot better with those who are close to him, but he still gets a bit stiff and awkward

there’s a lot of super small things that you might not even notice

like letting you touch his dimples, wear his clothes or play with his hair

you may not realise your privilege ‘cause if anyone else did those things he proBably wouldn’t say anything

BUT when you do it he genuinely encourages you and gets all giggly <3

one thing you’ve definitely noticed though is how protective wonnie tends to get over you compared to others

he’s already quite protective of the people he loves as is

or maybe a joke gone too far

if it was anyone else, he knew that he wouldn’t say a thing; probably brush it off, maybe send her a frown back

but he simply can’t help the words that tumble from his mouth, “is something wrong, ma’am?”

your eyes widen right away because wonnie nEver has the guts to call people out like that usually???

ESPEcially not an elderly person ..

of course, the old woman only scoffs rudely in response, muttering something in a malicious tone under her breath

the boy holding your hand smirks in satisfaction and you sigh, quickly leading him away as fast as possible

he gives you an obvious glance, “because i didn’t like how she looked at you”

jungwon looks cute 99% of the time, but at that moment with the harsh glare on his face, he’s a bit intimidating even to you <\3

the most noticeable point though is for sure how a majority of the time he listens to whatever you say ON THE FIRST TRY

you realise at that moment that this is what having kids must feel like

meanwhile riki gives u that innocent look as if he did nothing

aaand he passes the controller over without any more complaints <\3

jake lets out a vEry sarcastic thank you while riki wanders all the way over to you and plops down in your embrace like a whiny toddler

then he just looks up at you from your lap

in charge of their minecraft server and mediates any conflict that happens within it

is in the game 24/7, they never stop the grind

definitely the first one to find diamonds

yo glep the typa guy to have his whole house and storage decked out by the first day

has an automatic farm for everything (cobblestone, iron, gunpowder, slime, etc) like u name it they have it for some reason

he doesn't let everyone use them for free though

he makes the others "pay" (read: do something embarrassing, run an errand for him, give him iron or something) to get access to any of his automatic farms of their choosing for a whole day

they can negotiate w them tho

like if one of them comes up to him and they have something that he doesn't find valuable then they DO have a chance to convince him of its value but otherwise it won't work lol

in fact he'll be quite offended

like u think that red dye is enough to get access to my automatic iron farm?! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

his minecraft skin is definitely either one of those meme skins with an oddly realistic face on the torso or a skin that looks like some sort of lizard dragon monster thing

honestly barely knew what minecraft was before glep brought it up

he did assume it was some kind of game when he hears the word

like any other video game, he had to be introduced to it by the ppl around him

despite him approving of the game, he's barely ever joins the server

^^^^ he's more into rhythm games and fps

has no clue whats going on in the server tbh

he just gets bits and pieces based off of what others say to him or around him

because of that he tries to join the server more often but he really really can't get ahold of minecraft in general bc he gets bored very easily and needs outside stimuli

is the type to log into a server he hasn't touched in a hot second and be upset that everyone else is so far ahead

he always spawns in the middle of nowhere every time bc he hasn't made or slept in a bed yet

^^^ because he usually leaves the server within 5 minutes which isn't long enough for the day-night minecraft cycle to commence (minecraft days are 10 minutes long)

when he logs on while its nighttime in the server he literally BREAKS into allan's house (much to his dismay) and forgets to patch any hole he left in his walls or windows

he hits/kills everyone else in minecraft for fun

literally just logs in to cause chaos then leave

^^^ everyone is thankful that he doesn't have access to tnt yet

definitely uses the alex minecraft skin

he took a while to accept that they have a minecraft world together

he found it kinda obnoxious (he joined the server anyway)

determined to have the best house in the game

if he had to take any role, he would be the builder

the first thing he did when he logged in was start building a house... like wood enters his inventory, he just makes a fuckin axe then uses the rest of the wood to build his house ;w;

he's actually pretty good at it since he already is very detail-oriented and shit so he can definitely make a fire house

when it comes to mining or combat tho he's so shit

^^^ glep helps in this aspect LOL

only went to the nether for glowstone and it pissed charlie off once

bc theyre already pretty close, glep is more lenient on him and is usually on his side when it comes to any conflict that occurs in the server

not only does he put a lot of effort into his houses, he also puts a lot of effort into the outside of his houses

he just be building shit

built a whole mansion for his minecraft dog once (just bc)

every time he dies in minecraft he's like "ok that means its time for me to log off"

surprisingly has a very healthy balance of play time. he plays just enough to get very far in the game and keep up with everything and ALSO keep his real life stabilized and normal

he has a creative minecraft world outside of the server that he tries redstone in to get lights in his normal minecraft house to work without it looking too bulky and ugly

^^^ he also uses it to make booby traps for anyone entering his house without permission

^^^^ they never fucking work on mr. boss

he made his minecraft skin himself and its just him if he were yassified

oh god fucking finally was probably what ran through his mind when he heard the news

he probably joked about it once to pim and was surprised that it actually came true

this guy is second to glep when it comes to gaming

like srsly bro probably has a gaming setup and/or is saving up for one

he was the second to join the minecraft server (second to glep again)

he is the opposite of allan; he hates building and only ever mines or fights mobs

in fact he made his whole minecraft hideout in the side of a cave and it only has like. one crafting table, six fucking furnaces, and like 10 chests full of random drops and bulllshit, then his singular bed in the middle of the room with a big path leading down to a random ass cave

looking at his minecraft hideout would make a minecraft builder CRY their eyes out its worse than u think

would often vc with pim and play with him on the server

spends a concerning amount of time on minecraft bc he always has something to do on it, he just gives himself random side quests

despite the disorganization of his minecraft home he's actually more organized in minecraft than in real life believe it or not

he probably hasn't touched grass since he joined the minecraft server

him and glep duel it out sometimes for fun, or they do like fighting challenges with each other like who can kill the most zombies without dying

extremely attached to a wolf he tamed when he first joined the server

he watched minecraft gaming youtubers and bc of that he enchants everything he owns bc those were his favorite episodes

his minecraft skin is some sort of character from one of his interests, like mr. frog or a random salty's mascot bc he finds it funny

his poor cheap office laptop can barely run minecraft omfg

when he boots minecraft up, it'd lag so hard and the fans in his laptop would go crazy, then after five minutes minecraft runs "as normal"... like it's playable but not to ppl who are used to 250 fps

^^^ it happens every fucking time he doesn't know how to fix it

he's ok with it though he's like ok give it a sec this happens all the time ^w^

^^^^ was the last person to join the server bc of this

sings a song while he's doing a minecraft chore, like in the silly halloween special episode when he was singing picking up twigs! picking up twigs! that'll be him while getting wood or something similar

he's real careful about how long he plays bc he doesn't want his laptop to overheat

his combat skills r pretty good bc of his experience playing gwimbly's games when he was younger

his favorite thing is definitely farming though

he's at a constant dilemma of using bones for either bone meal or taming another wolf to add to his mini army

Sun pours in through the window beside your bed. It tickles your skin, urging you to wake from your slumber. The light tries to pull the covers off of you as the day calls your name, but you do not answer. You lay curled up on your side, blankets huddled around you in a cocoon. You don't carry the usual motivation that you have to get up and get things done, not today. All you want to do is hide in the blankets away from the world and stay there forever. So many emotions that are far too heavy for you to carry weigh on your shoulders, and if sleeping forever was an option, you would have dozed back off by now. But the sun is persistent in its mission at waking you, so your eyes begrudgingly peel open.

Your sight is welcomed by the same view that you have been greeted with every morning for the past three years. You lay still for a moment to take everything in. So much has happened ever since the countess asked that you take on the task of finding Count Lucio's killer, Doctor Julian Devorak. The first time that you met him, he had broken into your shop, and you found him again at the Rowdy Raven. Somehow, you managed to run into him again after a few weeks, one thing led to another, and you had fallen in love with the very man that you had sworn to catch for hanging. This romance did not last you very long, for last night, he left you. He told you that he was a disaster waiting to happen, that he didn't want to hurt you. He was so convinced that if you chose him, you would have chosen a horrible fate, and he couldn't let you do that to yourself. He walked you home, and while having dinner with Asra after speaking about your day, you broke. You had spent most of that night in tears with them at your side the entire time, holding you and rubbing your back to comfort you.

You turn around to see Asra exactly where he was when you had fallen asleep; At your side, on their back with their arm extended out to you incase you wanted to curl up against them. He had warned you about Julian, and his words echo in the back of your head. "The only thing he loves more than drama is his own suffering. And he's determined to chase both." You reflect on the way that he spoke of himself when he was fighting with himself about leaving you, and you find it so hard to believe that Julian is anything like how he sees himself. With the little time that you had spent together, you can see Julian's big heart, one that is kind and adventurous and full of love for the people around him. Despite everything that happened in his past, whatever it was, you can't see him as anything more than someone you want to love.

Enough is enough. You cannot lay here and sulk all day, even though that's all you really want to do. Slowly, you manage to sit up from bed, careful with your movements so that you don't wake Asra. You decide to go downstairs to make some tea for yourself, since it always makes you feel better. You trudge to the shop below, still groggy from slumber, and grab the teapot before waking the salamander and politely asking to light a fire for you. The fire flares up, and you make your favorite brew.

After you make your tea, you delicately take the mug into your hands and blow on it before having a sip. A content sigh escapes your lips as your eyes close, savoring the taste on your tongue. You take another slow sip before your eyes open, looking around the shop that you have learned like the back of your hand. You figure that you'll probably need to open up today, which you don't think will be too much of a problem. Standing around won't do you much good, you think, so you decide to stand outside for some fresh air. You make your way to the door and open it, one foot is about to step out of the door when you stop upon seeing something just under your foot. You move it back into the shop, then lean over and see..a letter? Your name is written on the front in handwriting that you have seen in the palace's library, and you know exactly who it's from.

You scoop the letter up from the floor before dashing inside, slamming the door behind you before rushing to the front counter. Anxiety swirls around within your stomach hotly, and your hands slightly tremble as you rip open the letter. You free the paper from its prison and unfold it, then begin to read.

My Dear,

I knew that I wouldn't be able to stay away from you. At the time that I am writing this letter, it has only been a couple of hours since I dropped you back off at the shop. The moment that I walked away, all I wanted to do was come running back to you. My heart was screaming at me to turn around, to ask you to come with me, wherever that meant for us to have gone. I guess that just proves how selfish I am, or maybe just how alluring you are. In the end, the decision that I made was for the better of both of us. We could never be together, no matter how badly we want differently.

Believe me when I say that I did not want this to end the way it has. I have never wanted to cause you harm or heartache. If I could, I would spend the rest of my life taking your pain away. But I have only one purpose in this life, and that is to hurt. I am destined to bring misery to everyone in my life, and to live alone. Choosing a future with me would mean to choose a future full of disappointments, and I do not want to disappoint you anymore. I do not want to disappoint anyone anymore. I am grateful that you allowed me to be in your company for as long as you did, and I am grateful for the kindness and care that you showed me. I could go on about how lovely you are. You have so much love to give, and you are caring. You had the capacity to care for me, and for that, I am grateful. One day, I can only hope that you will understand that leaving you was for your benefit. I do not want to bring you the suffering that I have brought so many others, so I will spare you of myself. I am struggling to believe that this decision is the right one, honestly. You don't know how long tears have been falling down your face. Your chest feels tight, like it's about to burst, and you can't breathe. A hand hovers over your mouth as you stare in horror at the paper in your hand. Too many emotions crash into you all at once for you to even begin processing the words in front of you. You couldn't believe that this is how it's ending between you and Julian. You know that part of why he feels this way about himself is because he has no memory of the night that he allegedly murdered Count Lucio. However, there is also the opposite end of that spectrum; He doesn't remember. There could be a chance that he didn't actually kill the count, and if that's the case, then you need to figure out what actually happened that night. Your blood runs overwhelmingly hot inside you as you ruminate on Julian's irresolution. You feel like you shouldn't even be this upset about someone that you didn't even have a solid relationship with, but you can't ignore the agonizing stabbing feeling in your heart. He could be innocent, but he is more willing to live his life wallowing in his own guilt than to live knowing that the baggage that he is carrying is unneeded.

You are unable to control your body any longer as you collapse to your knees, your loud sobbing betraying the anger that you stirred inside you just moments ago. A brief feeling of regret is drawn from you for even thinking of being angry, leaving as soon as it comes to be replaced with desolation. Grief for what could have been, for what you so desperately wanted this to be, overwhelms you. Shrieks from your voice scream into the empty shop as you hold the letter to your chest with both arms, your torso leaning forward in a fetal position on the floor.

Footsteps scatter down the stairs, and familiar eyes lay upon you. Your cries have awakened Asra, and they are at your side within seconds. His hands are on your shoulders and he sits on the floor with his feet under his butt, his knees propping him up. They watch worriedly as you heave and wail, only when you sit up do they see the letter in your hand. He doesn't say anything, for he knows exactly what has happened. Their eyes darken before they return their focus to you, you are far more important right now. You cry out to whatever spirit will listen, and collapse into Asra's arms. A strong embrace comes around you, only protecting you so much from the hurt of your heart.

You cannot understand what is going inside of Julian's head for the life of you. You do not understand why he feels such a strong need to push you away when all you want is to love him. He has admitted to wanting the same thing, so you feel so confused as to why he just won't let you. You find it difficult to believe that he truly hates himself so much, that he despises the very person that you see so much good in. The fact that he hates someone who took on a curse in which he takes on other's wounds because of his own guilt baffles you. A future without Julian is not a future that you want, but it is what he believes that he deserves. He believes that he deserves to walk the world alone for the rest of his life, and despite the fate that he has condemned himself to, something muffledly admits to you that it is not what he is bound to live.

Y’know, the reason tatsuki probably latched onto Orihime is probably because she lost Ichigo. Not in the literal way but in the sense that Ichigo was probably her closest friend as a kid and even now, she’s still incredibly fond of him but there’s this very palpable distance between them. It’s like when you have a best friend for years and then suddenly you don’t feel like your their best friend anymore while they’re still yours

So when Orihime came along who 1) had orange hair and 2) is the literal embodiment of sunshine like little ichigo, she latched onto her. And then when Orihime got her powers and sort of started to drift away, Tatsuki noticed

she doesn’t like change because change took away her first best friend and now she’s scared of losing her second. But when things don’t change the way she feared they would she doesn’t say anything when she sees Orihime and Ichigo doing weird spiritual stuff, content to ignore it because unlike with Ichigo at first, she and Orihime both began seeing spirits about the same time and supported each other so even if Orihime can fight the monsters there’s like an equalization in their relationship-- Tatsuki protects Orihime from real world stuff and Orihime protects her from spiritual stuff. It’s why their relationship works in a way Ichigo and Tatsuki’s didn’t at first, because Orihime doesn’t stonewall Tatsuki in the same way Ichigo does. At first, anyways.

It even says the Tatsuki can sense her so even if she doesn’t have powers they have a connection on a spiritual level and she’s scared to lose that. So when Orihime disappears out of nowhere with no warning, she’s angry and terrified and she knows exactly who to go to because this kind of stuff only happens around Ichigo

So when he stonewalls her YET AGAIN, she snaps because this time, one of the most important ppl in her life is missing and someone who is supposed to be her friend refuses to tell her anything despite all the time, the years they’ve known each other. It’s double the hurt for her, seeing how little Ichigo trusts her, even in matters that concern others

which is great call out to Ichigo’s issues with trusting ppl and making every little thing his responsibility while refusing to rely on anyone else, adressed by Renji and Rukia later on in the arrancar arc when they yell at him for not waiting for them and trusting them to come back and help

the repeated theme of being asked if they’re friends and why he can’t trust them is just so painful because the difference in thee responses to Tatsuki and Rukia just put into perspective how much Ichigo pushd Tatsuki away since his mom died

That was tatsuki’s breaking point and it’s an accumulation of all the hurt of losing her best friend and hearing him say that probably hurt both her and Keigo and Mizuiro because they’ve been there the entire time, haven’t they? It wasn’t fair for them to be sidelined like this, especially when it’s their friends, when they can see all the weird stuff that’s happening but feel as if they can’t talk to Ichigo because he tries so hard to protect everyone that all he ends up doing is hurting them

once again, Ichigo’s trust issues, even with ppl who can fight, even with ppl who have raided sereitei with him

‘Not strong enough’ is interesting. He tries to deter ppl from helping him and coming to his side because he feels that being around them hurts them, he feels that Orihime’s kidnapping is all his fault. And he does this by hurting them with words.

‘Don’t come near me’ ‘You aren’t strong enough’

Hearing Ichigo say he’ll save Orihime and apologize to her and the others probably made her realize how much he’s been surpressing and how much he’s been hiding from her in a stupid attempt to protect and she hates it, hates how much she understand it because it’s always been in his nature

It makes their friendship post-aizen both bitter sweet and awesome because she finally knows everything but he no longer has his powers so their positions are switched because no she’s the spiritually aware one while he has nothing to hold onto

But she treats him the same nonetheless (Mizuiro and Keigo do as well, Keigo even goes out of his way to check up on Ichigo, after the timeskip to makesure he’s doing okay)

Anyways that’s enough of my rant about the messy friendship that is Tatsuki Ichigo and Orihime :)

literally every time i post a chapter about the pjo!universe, i always gotta brace myself for the wattpad comments cuz some of the ppl there are completely misinterpreting things and sometimes it's because of their own bias getting in the way or because my writing makes them think that and i do NOT want it to be the second 😭😭😭😭😭😭

let me just make this clear right now because some of my wattpad readers seem to have a very negative view of the pjo characters in my fic and i don't want my other readers thinking that's what i'm going for:

pjo!poseidon loves his daughter and percy loves him too (familial ofc)

sally jackson IS a good mom and percy loves her

anthonius loves and cares for percy and vice versa

chiron loves and cares for percy, like he does with all the other campers

the pjo!gods are not black and white. there is no "the pjo!gods are all terrible parents blah blah blah!". it is a lot more nuanced than that; this has literally been shown and discussed many times in the books AND the tv show has written this out beautifully

hades is not a terrible father and nico doesn't hate him. pls read the books, hades and nico's bond gets better and nico is illegally living with him in the underworld, which no demigod, NOT EVEN PERCY, has done with their own godly parent

triton's hatred and jealousy towards percy is valid. imagine watching your father claim to love and care for your mother while having 100s of side pieces and then imagine realizing that he actually LOVES one of the side pieces and LOVES a random demigod child that popped up while you've been loyal to him for thousands of years. imagine him leaving behind his own kingdom and family (leaving YOU) to face oceanus' army because said child asked for his help.

amphitrite does not hate percy. her feelings towards the issue is more bitter, but understanding. that portion of her in the chapter was her realizing just how deep poseidon's love for percy goes and being awed and sad at the same time because she knows poseidon will never love her or their children the same way he loves sally and percy

the latest chapter was never meant to be implied as "amphitrite and triton don't like percy! they bad >:(" pls, like i said before, this is not a black and white fic.

Behind your four walls, he is soaking up every touch and kiss that you give him, and sometimes he will be borderline annoying with how much he loves to have you physically close.

B = BEST FRIEND (what would they be like as a best friend and how would the friendship start?) Pretty cool, except sometimes flaky. But he would always enthusiastically try to make up for everything he missed, and he would always have an adventure up his sleeve!

C = CUDDLES (do they like to cuddle & how?) Don’t tell his friends, but he is an absolute cuddle bug! As soon as you’re alone, he will all but glue himself to you, and complain when you want to get up - he is willing to sacrifice food in favor of constant skin-to-skin contact with his stunning partner. All cuddling positions are good cuddling positions, but especially the ones where he can relentlessly shower you with kisses.

D = DOMESTIC (do they want to settle down; how are they at cooking/cleaning?) Somewhere down the road, he’d like to settle down with you, but right now you’re young, wild and free! He is sort of a mess, and he can be a bit lazy around the house, but just make an enticing promise of a reward for his help, and he’ll be up and running to do whatever you need him to.

E = ENCHANTED (what was their first opinion/feeling about you when you just met?) Oh he was smug, and very flirty when he first approached you, not necessarily ‘cause he immediately liked you, but because he wanted to show off in front of others, and be flirted back with. He most definitely found you attractive, but if you responded with a sarcastically flirty comment, he’d get the most gigantic crush right then and there. Before you knew it, he was wrapped around your pinky finger.

F = FIANCE(E) (how do they feel about commitment; how quickly would they want to get married?) Somewhere down the road for sure, but he needs his 'young, wild and free' time. But also having a sleepover with your best friend for the rest of your lives sounds pretty enticing... I wouldn't put it past him to want to just randomly elope somewhere and go on a boat journey as a honeymoon! Also once you two are officially a couple, he will only have eyes on you and definitely be a tiny bit possessive.

G = GENTLE (how gentle are they, physically and emotionally?) Regarding this... he is a complicated one. He can surely be a bit rough, and always is to his friends (of course in a loving way), but for you he tries to learn to be gentle and sweet in every way. It's actually super cute!

H = HUGS (do they like hugs, how often, what are they like?) He will absolutely give you surprise hugs and hugs from behind, and the hugs where he picks you up and makes you laugh, so it's mostly playful hugs with this boy. Except if he's feeling down about something, then he will instinctively look for your touch and warmth. He's almost neutral towards hugs on everyday basis but he's absolutely not going to say no. However, in private he prefers to go all in and at least have a cuddle session.

I = I LOVE YOU (how fast they say the L-word) It takes him some time for sure, but I feel like he'd blurt it out in some random moment, and he'd most definitely be staring at you like the most lovesick puppy as you do something or just talk, and maybe he would say it quietly at first so you'd have to double-check - he was surprisingly shy about it! But all is well when you say it back, and he can't get enough of hearing it.

J = JEALOUSY (how jealous do they get and how they act then) He is fiery and quite impulsive still, and also very aware that you’re very attractive, so he tends to get quite jealous quite often. As soon as someone is giving you unwanted attention, he is there with a snarky comment and a slender arm sneaking around your waist tightly. He will side-eye the person while subtly checking over you to see if you’re alright. In those moments you will try to suppress laughter, because he looks so cute when he tries to act all manly and big. Maybe later you tease him for it a little bit.

K = KISSES (what are their kisses like, where do they like to kiss you/be kissed?) Unpredictable and sometimes desperate, like kissing you is air that he needs to survive. He will grab your face with both his hands and smush his lips (and half his face) against yours until both of you need to pull away for oxygen, it’s kinda funny but also super sweet, and one of the ways he shows you that he’s absolutely smitten with you. He is the biggest fan of kisses on the lips, 

L = LOVE LANGUAGE (what is their love language and how they show you love) Physical touch is definitely up there, and maybe quality time. He is quite touchy-feely with you, especially in private, and he will gladly ditch anyone and anything to have more of that with you. Something that shows he’s very thoughtful is the way he plans little dates and outings for the two of you, on normal days as well as more special ones.

M = MORNINGS (how are mornings spent with them) Usually he’s active and energetic, and he can run on not too much sleep, but once he gets addicted to falling asleep while cuddling you, and waking up by your side, his sleeping hours get a bit longer, and his mornings a little bit slower and lazier. It’s also in the mornings when he’s the most quiet and just enjoys your presence and warmth.

N = NIGHT (how are nights spent with them) This boy loves to be outside on chilly starry nights!! His absolute favorite thing to do with you in the evenings would be to walk around the city and share a couple of drinks, maybe socialize with your friends, but after that he must steal you away and go either for a night boat ride under the stars, or a night swim - or both!

O = OPEN (when would they start revealing things about themselves; everything at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?) On the one hand, Isildur wants to pretend he’s this mysterious I-can-get-anyone type of guy, but the real truth is… you look at him with a head tilt and ask him about something, and he will crumble and say everything at once. He can be influenced by you big time.

P = PATIENCE (how easily angered are they?) Young Isildur can be feisty, that’s for sure, and he tends to get annoyed by some relatively trivial things sometimes, but most of the time there’s no use trying to rationalize with him over them while he’s upset - rather just let him air it out and get over it, maybe he’ll go horse riding or have a short swim to cool down, and then he’ll come to you like a pouty baby.

Q = QUIZZES (how much would they remember about you – every little detail you mention in passing or do they kind of forget most things?) Not every little detail for sure, he’s somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. Sometimes you’ll be surprised by the fact that he’d remember something very tiny and almost insignificant, but ended up forgetting something that was a bigger deal. 

R = REMEMBER (favorite moment in your relationship) The lead-up to his favorite moment wasn't sweet in the slightest - a man who'd had too many drinks in a tavern was making suggestive comments about you, and Isildur most definitely wasn't going to let that slide; his impulses got the best of them and he ended up getting into a fight. When you finally pulled him away from it, it was time to bandage him up, and it made him feel really loved. It was so worth it to go through the fight to defend his beloved, and then afterwards receive your affection and care and lots and lots of kisses to cure the pain.

S = SECURITY (how protective are they; how they'd like to be protected and how they protect you) In theory, he's definitely going to be like 'my partner is so badass and doesn't need my help and defense' but in practice... all it takes is someone's weird look towards you for him to be running to your side. Sometimes he's definitely partial to taking it too far and then you have to step in and calm him down a little. However, he's not the biggest fan of you acting protective over him publicly - he isn't going to stop you or tell you anything, but it's going to make him feel insecure and insufficient in a way. That's something the two of you work on.

T = TRY (how much effort do they put into dates, gifts, anniversaries, everyday stuff) Okay so, he is secretly convinced that you can do better and fall in love with someone better than him (you wouldn't tho), so he's going to do anything in his power for you to stay with him for good, which includes sometimes too elaborate date or anniversary plans. Once you catch on, you have to push a little bit to get to the bottom of it, but eventually you reassure him that he doesn't have to have every detail figured out - it's okay to go with the flow on more special days as well, if some things don't work out perfectly!

U = UGLY (some bad habits of theirs) He can be messy and chaotic, he doesn’t spend much time inside so his room is not in the best of states. He usually just runs inside to grab or leave something, and late in the night crashes in the bed which, you guessed it, was unmade all day.

V = VANITY (how concerned are they with their looks?) Not too concerned, he knows he looks good without putting too much effort in, so why should he? Except for when you two have something special planned, then he’s going to try his best, and if you compliment him he will absolutely burn on the inside!

W = WISH (something that they really want to do/experience with you?) He wants to go sailing with you on a very early morning, when it’s still dark outside and the sun is only beginning to rise - the colors look beautiful reflected on the water, everything is quiet and the air is misty and fresh, the water is basically perfectly calm. He is planning to use that date idea for a birthday surprise for you, and that might even be how he’d like to propose.

X = XTRA (a random headcanon for them) While he is relatively self-confident, and doesn’t have too much trouble approaching anyone he deems interesting or attractive, he will become an absolute flustered stuttering mess if he gets approached first, especially if the person approaching him is immediately flattering or flirty to him!

Y = YUCK (what are some things they dislike generally or in a partner?) Isildur hates being bored and passive, except on the days when he really wants to just be lazy, so he would prefer a partner who is also relatively active in their everyday life.

Z = ZZZ (a sleep habit of theirs) He is a very restless sleeper and he tosses and turns quite a lot, and ranges anywhere between throwing the blanket on the floor in his sleep and wrapping himself in it and being a complete blanket hogger.

in harry's childhood, every single request for physical aftection or reassurance has been met with sneers, flinches, looks of disgust and, at one very memorable time, a smack to the face. he stopped asking for positive physical contact soon after.

harry has never been to the sea or the beach before that time with the dursleys or when dumbledore took him the inferni cave. after his first proper and positive beach experience, he kinda wants a beach side house.

Simple: these people don't understand Katara. At all.

Katara's Trauma

The attack on her village changed Katara's life forever. She was forced to face the ugly side of humanity, lost her mother, her dad left to fight the war, and she had to step up and basically raise her older brother. All of it because the Southern Raiders need to kill HER, not Kya.

War, grief, growing up too fast, survivor's guilt... all of it was throw at Katara at once, and even though she seems to be well-adjusted enough, episodes like The Swamp, in which we see just how desperately she wants her mom, or even the first episode itself, when she immediately gets emotionally attached to Aang because he gave her the chance to be a kid and have fun, show us that she's still struggling to process it all.

She 100% needs some form of closure. But what exactly can give her that, and at what cost?

Righteous Fury VS Blind Rage

Katara hates Yon Rha and wants him to pay for what he did to her mother, and by consequence to everyone who loved her. That is not a problem. In fact, it is the way anyone in her position would feel. Aang himself says that's how he felt towards the Fire Nation when he found out about the genocide of his people, and towards the sandbenders when they stole Appa - both times, that anger caused him to get into the Avatar state.

And Katara could not stand to see Aang like that. When he tried to weaponize it, she tried to talk him out of it. Why? Because that kind of reaction of violently lashing out, like nothing else matters ALWAYS leads to problems. That has been a consistent theme through the show.

Whenever Aang's grief triggers the Avatar state, everyone around him is terrified, and he got dangerously close to accidentally hurting people during it - and just the emotional distress of it all was so intense, he was having nightmares about it later.

Zuko had the awful habit of verbally attacking people who had done literally nothing to him whenever he got too upset about anything, and he even got the point of started a physical fight because a guy dared to talk to his girlfriend, who looked very bored listening to it. Not only did this kind of behavior push people away from him, but it also made Zuko miserable. Even his bending was affected by it, as his impatience and pride made him refuse to master the basics before moving onto the advanced set.

During the whole episode of "The Southern Raiders" Katara is taking out her anger at Yon Rha on the wrong people. She tells Sokka that he didn't love their mom as much as she did, does NOT give Zuko a much needed telling off when he mocks the culture of Aang's people - ya know, the one his family commited genocide against - which she 100% would have done at any other time, is pushing herself too hard and looking exhausted as she flies on Appa, and even uses bloodbending willingly for the first time ever... on the wrong guy.

Sure, he was still an imperialist scumbag, but considering Katara was horrified after using it on Hama, who had literally been using it to capture and torture innocent people and tried to force Sokka and Aang to kill each other right in front of her, it's safe to say Katara would not see that as enough to excuse her own actions.

Katara is not being "empowered" in her quest for revenge. She is spiralling out of control and basically crying out for help without even realizing it. She has every right to be angry, but she's letting it take over her.

(Note: Her being angry at/not trusting Zuko even after everyone else befriended him is NOT misplaced anger like the episode claims. Zuko might not be as bad as Yon Rha, but he gave Katara plenty of reason to dislike him).

Action, Inaction & Guilt

Kya's death, and the attack against their tribe, was the definition of injustice, and Katara wants that to be corrected. Obviously it is impossible to undo it all, but there's still time to punish the people who caused it.

However, we cannot forget that Katara is 14-years-old. She's a child fighting the adults' war, like her friends. A child that had to hear her older brother say that when he heard the word "mom" he thought of her now. Not only is that unfair, it is also one of the main things that Katara had been trying to escape for a long time: not being allowed to be a kid.

Obviously, neither her nor the rest of the Gaang have the option of just not trying to stop Ozai - especially not after the failed invasion on the day of the eclipse, that had a ton of the adults on their side imprisoned.

But for a long time, she also did not have the option to go after Yon Rha directly. She didn't know his name, didn't know what position he held, had no idea how to track him. He was completely out of reach until Zuko gave her a lead to follow. Katara now had the option to confront her mother's killer and punish him for what he had done - even though that was not her obligation, since she was just a child.

But did she really see it that way? Like I said, Yon Rha had been after HER, not Kya - who only died because she lied to protect her child. Survivor's guilt could have very easily played a part on Katara's decision, and honestly I think some of the dialogue sugests that it did. She does not argue when Zuko says that forgiving is the same as doing nothing, and even her "Then you didn't love her like I did" to Sokka after he objected to her mission could be seen as her letting slip that, deep down, she believes that if she doesn't avenge her mom, doesn't "make up to her" for "causing" her death, then it means she did not really love her. And she deliberately mentions Kya's lie saving her life both to Zuko and to Yon Rha.

Katara isn't going after him just out of anger - she feels this is her responsibility. Her burden. Once again, this is not her being "empowered" enough to punish a wicked man. This is her falling into the trap of thinking she's not allowed to not want that weight on her shoulders.

A Forgotten Man

When Katara finally confronts her mother's murder, he is very different from the terrifying man she remembered. Sure, he can still use his bending a bit, but he clearly has not fought in a while, is easily overpowered, and is the definition of cowardly. He doesn't have any allies with him anymore, just his elderly mother that seems to hate him as much as he hates her. The cruel, oppressive system he was once a part of has chewed him up and spat him out. Nobody gives a damn what happens to this miserable bastard.

Now, obviously he doesn't want to die, especially not if the person who will take him out has EVERY REASON to make it slow and painful, but considering what we saw of his life, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the type that would just lay his head on a pillow at night and think "Wouldn't it be nice if I just never woke up again?"

THIS is the man Katara sees before her. Like she said, someone that is pathetic, sad and empty. Someone that would not be missed by literally anyone - not his mother, not his community, not the Fire Lord. Someone that offered her the head of the one family he still has left.

Kya meanwhile had a happy life before the Southern Raiders came to her tribe. She was a brave, loving mother that sacrificed her very life to protect her child, and left behind a family that is still grieving her.

This would not be "an eye for an eye" Yon Rha's death could NEVER come even close to be enough to "pay his debt" because it was absolutely worthless.

But does that mean that Katara confronting him at all was pointless?

Healing

By the end of the episode, after deciding to spare that bastard,Katara is being comforted by Aang, her best friend - like she had always done for him after he'd get into the Avatar state - and giving a second chance to her former enemy. She has also made it very clear that she will not forgive her mother's killer. Not now, not ever.

But this does not mean that she's back on square one. She faced her biggest trauma, confronted the monster that had been haunting her all her life, and acknowledged her anger and accepted that it will ALWAYS be there, but without allowing it to turn her into something she's not.

It is simmilar to her fight with her dad at the start of Book 3. After suppressing all the resement she felt after he left them to go fight against the Fire Nation, then taking her anger out on him, she broke down and accepted her pain, her vulnerability. She admited that, at the end of the day, she's just a child that wanted her dad with her, and now that Hakoda is there again, she CAN have that.

Naturally, there's nothing Yon Rha could say or do to make things better. But by facing him, giving him a taste of his own medicine, leaving him to rot, and then helping take down the very system that allowed people like him to commit attrocities everywhere, Katara finally got some closure. The grief will always be with her, but it won't define her anymore. She no longer has to be the adult figure of her family, she no longer has to wonder where that evil monster that took her mom from her is hiding and if he's making new victims.

Conclusion

Yon Rha was a horrible person, and if Katara had killed him, nobody could have judged her, and it sure as hell would NOT have made her just as bad or worse than him.

She needed to face him. She needed to let her anger out, to show him all the pain he had put her and her family through, to make him feel as powerless and scared as she and her mother had been.

But she did not need to stoop to his level. He did not deserve her forgiveness, but she did not need to sacrifice what was left of her innocence to put him out of his misery. He was just not worth it. Killing him would have been just violence for the sake of violence, and that is not in Katara's nature, and would have NOT helped her with literally anything. Quite the contrary.

She didn't spare his life for his sake, but for her own.

won is the dorkiest spiderman ever .. stutters over his quips, never has anything cool to say to the villains he fights, doesn’t know how to respond to ppl thanking him

one time someone he saved tried to ask for his number and he panicked and said he was banned from both t-mobile and verizon (he’s not btw)?? 

another time he just got done saving a group of ppl n said “no thneeds necessary” ?? bc he was trying to say “no need to thank me” n “no thanks necessary” at the same time

but he’s also the sweetest .. any time someone asks to “repay him” he’s a double it n give it to the next person kinda guy .. he always tells them to stop by the soup kitchen or donate old clothes to thrift stores or just be kind to someone else

also ,, on another note ,, won has the Biggest crush on u and knows u like to help out at the local preschool, so he always tells ppl to buy and donate extra school supplies

sometimes when he’s out patrolling late at night, he’ll see u on ur way home from the library n quietly follow u to make sure u get home safe

tries to talk to u once after seeing a spiderman article open on ur computer and u indulge him for a moment, saying how bad u felt abt the daily bugle’s tabloid pieces .. won’s p sure his heart exploded

but overall, he’s very gentle and kind .. ever the king of duality tho .. he can beat a bitch up when need be, but most of the time—won’s just a high school senior trying to get into MIT and make the person he’s been in love with since the beginning of fall semester feel the same way abt him

ANYWAYS in a high school!au setting i see a lot of ppl like to hc jungwon as class/stuco president, but i think he’s definitely more on the quiet side .. he’s popular, yes, but not too popular if that makes sense. for him, though, this is perfect ... he flies under the radar, and him missing school a couple days in a row every month or so goes virtually unnoticed. HOWEVER, you’ve always had a sneaking suspicion .. it’s not like you and won are Rivals—there would be no merit in picking an unnecessary fight with the boy who volunteers at the soup kitchen on the weekends and feeds the stray cats near the gym and asks the lunch ladies how their days are going—but, there’s something strange going on. you’re sure of it.

jungwon comes into school one day w a busted lip and a black eye. everyone is fawning over him, asking him what happened—did he get mugged, did his face hurt, did he give the other person a run for their money? you don’t bother checking in on him when he takes his seat next to you. you just hand him his calculus test (he did better than you again n it’s infuriating) and clench your jaw, willing yourself to disappear. that familiar, green monster hangs in the shadows behind you, and its breath fans across your neck as it attempts to coax a physical manifestation of jealously from your lips. eventually, you excuse yourself to the nurse’s office and skip the rest of the day.

later that night, you’re trying to study in your room, but you keep getting distracted by the daily bugle’s twitter updates. spiderman is out and about again, and they won’t let the poor guy’s good reputation rest. it’s all “spiderman fights villain and knocks over streetlight onto local man’s car” and “spiderman forgoes saving lady’s churro to destroy half of grand central station”—and, honestly, you feel a bit bad. he’s trying his best. but, as rain patters against your window, the sound threatens to lull you to sleep. exhaustion overtakes your body, your eyes are drooping, and your head keeps falling from your hands. and then BOOM—the loudest noise you’ve ever heard startles you from your fatigue-induced trance. with a look of fear in your eyes, you glance over your shoulder to look at the window and the sight that greets you is enough to freeze every molecule in your body.

the aforementioned hero is clinging to the side of your building, banging his fist on the glass and practically begging to be let in. his movements are frantic and a bit scary. you open the window as quick as you can and let him slide through the small gap you’ve created. there are copious tears in his suit, blood flows from a nasty gash on his shoulder. rushing around on some crude form of auto pilot, you grab a clean shirt from your closet and press it into his wound. you tell him to hold it there and instruct him to sit in your desk chair. he's sopping wet from head to toe, and all you manage to think about is how glad you are that your parents are away for the weekend.

eventually, after only almost vomiting once, the cut is clean and bandaged up. "you're so lucky that i've been trying to get rid of this shirt forever, mr. spiderman," you scoff as he perches on the sill of your window, preparing to swing away into the night. "if i had grabbed one of my favorite outfits, i would've killed you before that wound could have."

a giggle escapes from his lips, and for a moment, you find yourself taken aback. he sounds like a high schooler—young, lively, and everything but the twenty-something year old man you thought he would be. "sorry about that ... i'll have to swing by and drop off some laundry detergent one of these days," he laughs. his voice sounds so familiar, but your mind is still reeling from your recent discovery. the hero offers you a wave and gestures toward his previous seat. "sleep well—and, good luck on that calculus homework."

the next day at school, jungwon is nowhere to be seen. you thank whatever happens to reside in the sky that he can't see the bright red 67 at the top of your most recent calculus test. the next next day, however, jungwon comes in with his arm in a sling. as his seatmate, you're the one that has to help him out for the rest of the week. but, when you're sitting in free period, you happen to take another glance at the bandages around his shoulder as jungwon naps next to you. a sharp column of ice pierces through your lower abdomen; under jungwon's sling, the lowest layer of bandages are covered with dried blood and sweat.

they look eerily familiar. almost like the ones you used to patch spiderman up over the weekend.

but, jungwon couldn't be spiderman. he couldn't be—he's too sweet, too gentle, too kind. peeking over at his backpack, you note that it seems a bit bulkier today; a recognizable purple cap winks at you from the unzipped main pocket. a chill tickles the length of your spine as you register what happened to be resting against his class notebooks.

❦. i see them as being college kids w their academy selves

❦. catalina is always really pushing herself in her studies, maybe she would even be double majored so she ends up doing LONG study sessions in the library

❦. claude is there to check up on her though ofc, ryan put the idea in my head that he would come see her in the library between classes to give her food and a kiss and it rotates in my mind CONSTANTLY

❦. claude’s always posting cati on his socials, ppl are kind of sick of it but they’re too cute for them to say anything

❦. BUILD LEGO FLOWER SETS TOGETHER.. not a doubt in my mind that they do that as a sleepover activity while watching a movie they take an hour to decide on

Keep pondering a Fallen London timeline where Pages had a hybrid with the protag from Mask of the Rose through some process and said child is referred to as The Young Master.

Pages spends its whole pregnancy both insisting it's not pregnant and having internalized anxiety about trying to divine meaning into it wanting to eat fish at 7am but only raw. Not because it isnt thrilled but because its terrified. The other masters that give a shit are unluckily also probably not so fond of Pages itself, the whole being with a human thing, or the very idea of mixing material. The insistence that the whole thing is in service of producing a good love story is a thin cover at best, but good golly its clinging to it.

Fun additions to this mental au include: Pages getting blissed out on a music box its lover found for the baby and promptly stealing it. Literally every Master knowing its pregnant and initially Hearts tries to take bets on who did it before being soundly sworn at. Lover moving in with Pages to help since it is their child too, and the inevitable process of Redecorating since everything is v much not their size. Debates about how the kid will look occupying the conversation whenever Lover visits Chapman's to check up on ppl, with Archie insisting hes "not that kind of doctor--if those exist" when asked. Griz spends a good deal of these conversations deadpan staring into the middle distance, imagining the paperwork backlog that will appear when Pages dips out to deliver and recover.

Not pictured in all this is the mental image of Pages absolutely hating nursery rhymes for not having a coherent narrative depth. Because its implied.

By FL times the kiddo would be old enough to be kinda pissed most things are already in hand so to speak. It likes fish and the zea. Would that make it Mr. Fish? Sails? Fins? Its conflicted and this leads to a lot of "I cant shrink down rn I'm POUTING".
