I just had a weird dream where there was a popular video game series set in a post-apocalypse world, about a group of girls who have been transformed into some kind of nightmarish cyborg abominations that looked like someone crossed an antropomorphized motorcycle with a xenomorph. and they killed people for fun.
anyways with the new release the company responsible for the games was like "we listened to the public outcry about the lack of positive femininity, and made some changes to better represent women! listening and learning! <3"
the game was the exact same as the one before. the only change was that they turned the nightmarish scooter-abominations bright pink.

The thing is, Jason’s gender presentation as a motorcycle-tough guy is part of a costume, it was constructed as part of his Red Hood persona to project a specific image (if you’re gonna take over the criminal underground, ya gotta look the part). This is never stated explicitly in canon, but I’m intuiting it from the way his style of dress changes once he becomes Red Hood. Sometimes I wonder about how aware of this he is, like does he consciously view it that way or was it more of a subconscious thing? Most people are not tapped into the “gender presentation is not innate and is a performance” meta so it could go either way. I’ve seen some people compare it to the “over exaggerated on purpose” masculinity that some masc gay men present themselves with, and I do love that interpretation also

[Endgame Spoilers]
Why is nobody talking about how the -raidons are functionally Arven's older siblings.
Like even the professor's books in the lab are like 'I was expecting one new life to treasure but now I get two.' It sounds like they just found out they are having twins, not that they just summounded a legendary pokemon from the depths of the past/future while also expecting a human child.
And like, the -raidons are clearly intelligent? Yeah they are pokemon, but their legendary pokemon, which have been shown repeatedly to be even with a humans intellect (Calyrex, Newby, etc.). In fact, if I had to hazard a guess, the main -raidon was born very shortly before being brought the the present time. This is why they are much more docile than the second -raidon; they were raised in a much more stable environment. They clearly harbor no ill will towards Arven either, even though he is antagonistic towards them the whole game for understandable reasons.
I just think it would be funny if they pester him like he's their little brother. Like, if he starts getting petty they will just pick him up by the back of the shirt and run off. Or Arven will just be chilling in his dorm room and they will push the door open. Arven will stare at them and after a few seconds they will scamper away, leaving the door open as Arven yells at them. Sometimes, when the whole group is out in the wild, Arven and the -raidon will end up in a wrestling match when he catches them eating his pre-made sandwiches. The MC and Nemona place bets on who will win while Penny tries to rationalize how she is the most normal member of this friend group.

when does jason learn to drive?
cause according to a quick google search, you can't drive in new jersey until you're at least sixteen. and jason dies when he's fifteen.
he definitely didn't learn when he was comatose, and probably not with the league. did he have to teach himself? did bruce teach him before he died? did dick teach him to spite bruce? did he learn when he lived on the streets? does he somehow never learn and use it as an excuse to never drive any batkid around?
how many times did he crash before he finally figured it out? has officer grayson ever pulled him over for going 20 miles above the speed limit, asked for id, only for jason to just drive off? does he just drive like a maniac? do his siblings avoid driving with him at all costs to stay away? how many people has he tramuatized?

breakdown, daryl dixon.
summary: in which you’re forced to split from your family and leave the farm with daryl after it burns down and gets infested with walkers!
warnings: reader and daryl started dating a bit before this takes place! not fully proof read yet!
notes: requested by anon! they had a really good idea, the ask post is linked here!
You cling onto Daryl as he races down a country road, the smell of smoke from the burning house you once lived in, still lingering in the air. Your tears fall onto his jacket as you think about your family. Beth, Maggie, Hershel. You’re not sure if they’re alive or if they’re out there somewhere, split up from you. As the moment Daryl forcefully dragged you from your burning home and took you away on his motorcycle, you feel a mix of anger and sadness. The walkers destroyed everything in the farm’s path, maybe even the last of your family. You shouldn’t be mad at the hunter, he was just trying to keep you safe, but you can’t think properly, only stuck on the thought that you just abandoned everyone and everything you loved. “I can’t.” You whisper, your voice breaking, the man unable to hear you.
“Stop! Let me off!” You yell this time, practically shaking, Daryl abruptly coming to a stop, concerned on why you suddenly need to pull over. “What?” He turns his head around a bit, confusion on his face. You quickly get off the back of the motorcycle, walking a few steps ahead on the road, bringing your hands to your head in panic, tears sliding down your face as you silently sob.
“What’s wrong?” He gets off the vehicle as well, slowly walking up behind you, stopping a couple spaces before you.
“My family! They’re all gone! So is my house! I’ve lived in that house since birth!” You turn around, yelling at him, causing the man to wince. “Ya don’t know that, maybe they got away with Rick.” He tries to reason. Unfortunately it doesn’t help you out much, as you open your mouth to speak, forcing your sobs back, attempting to speak without your voice shattering. “Did you see them?!” You huff. He doesn’t respond. “Everything is gone, I have nothing! Beth is just a teenager and Maggie is practically the only person that I’m so close with during this mess!” You start, “And my father? God, I don’t-” You’re unable to finish your sentence, pausing for a moment.
“They’ve never experienced the real world, not until now, just like me, Daryl. I was lucky enough to have found you, but what if Rick and his wife didn’t find them? What if Glenn didn’t reach Maggie in time?!” You cover your mouth with your hands, holding back from breaking down even more than you already have. The man doesn’t speak, simply walking closer to you and pulling you into a tight hug from behind, slowly making you kneel down with him to relax. “Let go!” You slap his arms to get him to free you from his grip, but he doesn’t respond, continuing to hold you in his arms. “Let me go!” You start crying even more. You feel vulnerable, something you’ve never liked since you were a child. You break out if his arms when you shuffle around, still kneeling, but this time just a bit ahead of him, tucking your head in your arms and between your legs. The sound of your sobs instantly makes Daryl tense up, deciding to go back to hugging you. This time, you accept the warm embrace, not having the energy to fight with the man. “We’re going to find your family, okay? We’re going to find a new place for us to live.” He whispers in your ear, pressing a kiss to your temple.

harbinger has gears. def something qrow picked up from ozpin, so if he already had harbinger before attending beacon, it would have had to look different.
thinking about younger qrow, hearing stories about the grimm reaper and wanting a weapon similar to hers. maybe he had a sword similar to omen at first ( hence the hidden red blade that is only seen in harbinger's scythe form, cut into parts to account for the curved blade ), but after scavenging enough parts, he starts to build up from it. with lots of trial and error, he finally succeeds in creating something... workable, though the mechanism he has in place still jams more often than not.
just... the thought of harbinger that looks more like scrap put together that still works but isn't quite what he expected it to be, just because qrow wanted a scythe and that's not something you just find laying around, so he did himself with what little he had.
and then he gets to beacon and can upgrade harbinger to his heart content, taking inspiration from around him; harbinger finally becoming how he always imagined it to be.

iirc you've said your comic will cover up to the end of the original trilogy (which means no trucy), so i was wondering what u think mia's relationship w trucy would be like? and also how the whole thing might've gone down differently w mia there in general
the exact circumstances surrounding phoenix's disbarment/adopting trucy would have some pretty different Flavor to it in this AU for reasons that will become blatantly obvious at some point* but i don't want to fundamentally change anything about it. the weird thing about being in a place where i'm essentially doing a full rewrite of a story i already think is good is that for as much as anything deviates we will ultimately be ending up in more or less the exact same place.
i think mia and trucy could have an interesting relationship... definitely in this situation i think mia has primary custody over pearl so i could see some sharing of parental duties stuff happening there just out of proximity. but whereas mia is doing this out of obligation phoenix has fully opted into it which i think would actually bring some strain to the relationship between the two of them. i also think they probably have pretty different ideas about how to raise a kid.
anyway considering mia's mom just fucking Ditched her in the same way trucy's dad ditched her i think mia would feel some kinship there and trucy is much more precocious than pearl so i think that paired with the fact that mia doesn't actually have to be her surrogate mother would make it decent enough for them to get along. the sort of backbone of the characterization i've settled on for mia is someone who has a rebellious/defiant streak against the expectations that have been placed on her as a child but simultaneously relies on those expectations for structure and guidance. so i think she'd chafe a bit at seeing trucy be so zealous about pursuing the family trade seemingly uncritically. i don't think she'd really be able to wrap her head around the fact that trucy actually does just love it despite the familial baggage and not really because of it. i could see this progressing into things being kind of weird between them when trucy is a teen because i think mia would be much more paternalistic in most ways than phoenix is, without Actually having any kind of parental authority over her.
there would definitely be a ton of fun stuff i could get out of these situations and in a world where i have infinite time and desire to draw i would show Everything. but im definitely going to die before i even finish the stuff i have already mentally committed to being part of the main arc. so we'll all just have to imagine it for now.
