don’t mind me I’m just busy having Feelings over the scene in the Moon Knight tv series where Marc meets the avatars/gods for the first time.

words can’t describe how distressed I got when Harrow showed up and started speaking, dripping poison into the words “he is unwell” with a tint of false concern, just the right amount condescension, and a spoonful of pity

thinking about how from that moment Marc (and the whole system) was disregarded as unreliable despite the fact that the situation had nothing to do with their DID. thinking about how the avatars and their gods stopped listening to him.

thinking about how the moment someone is neurodivergent, or disabled, or different in any way that isn’t palatable, that’s “scary”, they stop being worth listening to

not a person, just something to disregard, lock away, or pity.

And how Harrow got away with it, how he was able to frame himself as the caring “good guy” for revealing this incredibly personal piece of information to a group of people who had no business knowing it, effectively silencing someone who desperately needed to speak. For his own gain.

My weird autism thing is that when I really like a particular work of fiction, I reimagine it as taking place in the universe of a different work of fiction with characters, locations, and other concepts from that work replacing the ones from the original story, but the actual plot itself staying pretty much exactly the same. Like, my two biggest ones recently are imagining Order of the Stick as a Super Mario Bros fanfic in the same vein as Super Mario Bros Z and imaging Pokemon Adventures as a Shovel Knight sprite comic. Does anyone else do this or is it just me?

What I really hope for season 2 of Moon Knight is that they at least mention that the system is autistic.

Bc like most viewers are not gonna know that a character is autistic unless its explicitly stated in the show and in most shows when they do explicitly state it its portrayed badly/stereotypically. So it would be really great if they did mention it so everyone can know that this is an actually good example of what autism can look like.

Maybe since Marc and Steven are going to try to live normal lives now maybe they could do it through a therapy session or smth. I kinda doubt that it'll happen since the autism was just a thing that Oscar Issac added in himself and not the writers. But it would be so great if they did and they had Marc and Steven talk about how Marc masks so much.

I think about the idea of hyper-fixations a lot and what it means to me to experience them.

There's communities and fandoms and the like, but there's never someone who experiences it the same as you. I don't think that's a bad thing. I genuinely think it's beautiful that there are so many unique experiences, so many flames of passion born of the same sparks.

And yet, that's just it. No one will ever feel the same as me. Somehow, it leaves me feeling isolated in the strangest way. The person who showed me something that consumed my waking thoughts may have never felt the depths of it that I do. The next person I try to share it with probably won't be kept up at night over it the same way I was. How many times has something I spared a passing glace kept someone else up all night? How many other people agonize over how they can't possibly make others feel the way they felt?

Thank you for showing me something you thought was 'cool'. It's destroyed me on a level I didn't think possible. Thank you for showing me the thing that shaped your soul. Please forgive me that it couldn't touch me like it touched you.

+Colin saying that he 'found/met himself' on his travels is GOOD, actually, and Penelope should be overjoyed that her friend put that kind of work into himself. she should be happy the letters between them were genuine connection instead of him using her as 'free therapy' as some people like to state

+Colin is not using Penelope as free therapy, ffs

+Colin's line about not courting Penelope couldn't have possibly 'ruined her prospects' because she already had 0 prospects

+Colin caring about Marina even after everything went down is proof he has a good heart and nature and would make an excellent partner. (do i think he should have visited her still? no, i think she deserves her privacy, but Colin didn't do anything wrong in the S1 situation and him coming to check on her, being nice to her husband and her children, and feeling concern about her happiness is HEAPS better than how other men in this series have treated their previous romantic partners)

+Penelope being upset he isn't interested in her is 100000% valid. Cutting him out of her life for it however is toxic as hell (and celebrating her 'ghosting' him is very telling)

+Penelope was SUPER out of line multiple times w/ Colin, in particular when he's clearly heartbroken. Nearly confessing her crush on him in S1 was bad and selfish (his engagement JUST blew up very publicly by her hand) and when he comes back from traveling (aka: trying to heal after said blow up) asking about women he met is very tone deaf. reminding him she herself is a woman is ALSO very tone deaf

+Penelope has been and continues to be a bad friend to him, partly by her own admission when he complimented her on being a loyal person and she said she didn't deserve that (good news: this means she can have a character arc becoming a better one!)

+Calling Colin 'stupid' or an 'idiot' simply because he doesn't realize Penelope has a crush on him or for verbalizing things poorly is ableist and it needs to stop being so normalized in this fandom

"LEAVING ANGST" AND YOU'RE SAYING THIS 😭😭😭 it's both genuinely fun yet heartbreaking, jaw dropped oh my god... It's like, they're really close so they WANT to trust but it's kinda hard when Hades could be anywhere anytime !!

One of the silly part is when Hades enter their minds and sees how weird they all are each in their own way and wonders if he really did the best choice with the whole reincarnation thing
