some books with nonbinary major characters to read for international nonbinary people’s day!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tell me how it ends - nonbinary major character. Fantasy. Reworking of Tangled, main character leaves her home (and abusive family) to try and use tarot magic to help save someone’s friend in a heist.
Running close to the wind - nonbinary love interest. Comedic fantasy where the main character accidentally commits treason and runs away on a pirate ship.
Baker Thief - genderfluid main character. Fantasy where magic-users are being used as batteries and the main character has to stop that and save her sibling.
The heart-break bakery - agender main character. YA magical realism. After a breakup, the main character accidentally makes brownies that cause future breakups and has to try and get the couples back together.
Dear wendy - main character questioning their gender. NA contemporary where the two main characters end up in a social media feud while becoming friends IRL
All systems red - agender main character. Sci-fi about a robot who broke free of its controlling module and has to keep humans safe.
The honeys - genderfluid main character. YA horror where the main character goes to a camp to investigate his sister’s death and finds that things are weirder than he’d thought.

Hello there…
I am a huge Codywan fan and while I love reading fic, I also enjoy reading books. If you also like Codywan and reading books, here are 2 book recommendations that are very Codywan-coded.
Tumblr media
Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne. This is a great cozy fantasy about a powerful sorcerer and royal guard who run away from serving a tyrant to live in the mountains and serve tea. Kianthe is very Obi-wan coded as a magician with anxiety and has a bond with a griffin, similar to Obi-wan and Boga. Reyna is the royal guard, who is fed up with serving a tyrant. She is tough and struggles with hiding injuries. She also has a sword that really reveals her royal guard status. It is basically gender swapped Codywan in a fantasy world. It is a super soft cozy book that feels like a warm cup of tea on a snowy sunny day.
Tumblr media
A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland. This one has a mystery plot but it is not super intense. The main characters are a prince who has a special gift he can use to detect metal purities and his royal guard who was assigned to him after shit hit the fan. They are enemies to lovers. The prince Kadou also has anxiety (I don’t know why but Obi-wan has anxiety in my brain) and is charge of the mystery solving. Kadou is also a bit of a flirt. His guard, Evemer does not like him due to miscommunication about the shit-fan incident. Evemer is very stoic and could have gone into the military with his strategic knowledge. I love the descriptions in this book and it is one of my favorite romances. There is also a side character who could have been a spy and has a personality that reminds me of Quinlan Vos. There is also non-binary background characters that use a gender neutral pronoun set that is not they/them.
I’ve never really written a book rec like this before, so I hope my descriptions of these books is helpful. I read these books this past winter and was amazed at how Codywan-coded they are. These books are similar to Cody and Obi-wan regarding their character and personality, their roles in the stories, the plot, and the general vibe (or as I say, flavor) of the stories. If you pick up either of these books I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. Also let me know if there are any Codywan-coded books you like.

I have finally decided to make an intro post!
Welcome to my blog!
I am a minor and my pronouns are they/them, or really any. I am an enby and gay whichever way I slice it. I go by my user, or 'gimme' if I had to shorten it.
DNIs:
Terfs, racists, homophobes, transphobes, trump supporters, or really any kind of assholeish intolerance is not welcome on my blog. I can and will block you.
Tumblr media
(also if you continue to call opossums possums after learning the difference (look it up) I may consider blocking you)
Tumblr media
(I'm not super into spider verse but Hobie brown is a mood)
If you are older than 18 please do not message me privately. I don't mind people 18 up interacting with my posts, but anything more than that is icky.(Any moots I'm friends with before they turn 18 is fine too)
More fun stuff under the cut!
Fandoms: Rick Riorverse, stranger things, Arcane, RTC, owl house, gravity falls, alnstg, ruby red trilogy, and wof, just to name a few.
Fun facts!
My MBTI is an INTP
I speak french
I own two life size plastic skeletons named bob and Mark (they are married) and an also life size (though much smaller) duck skeleton named Maurice. I really like skeletons for aesthetic purposes.
I played violin for about 6 years
I am a theatre kid :))
I am addicted to fairy lights
Things to expect:
Random reblogs of shit I like on my page (I swear a lot fyi)
Animal stuff (specifically platypuses pangolins and opossums perchance)
Random thoughts I have
I very very VERY rarely post art
Views on feminism and US politics
Various fandom reblogs
Weird ads pintrest gives me
Shitposts
Mental heath and general important PSA reblogs
Palestinian campaigns
If any of these things upset you, please go elsewhere :))

Trans Rights Readathon Recs!
Books by Trans Authors - Part 1
This recommendations post for Trans Rights Readathon is brought to you by books we already had in our library and it got a little out of hand! We decided first to break things down by other rep in case that was helpful for folks. We have another post planned breaking things down by genre as well, so stay tuned! With series, we only include the first book in the series to keep our stacks slightly more manageable!
As far as we know, the authors here are out as trans / nonbinary / genderqueer. Please don't be a dick and try to force authors who happen to write trans characters to out themselves! We did our best on rep breakdowns, but please let us know if we misfiled anything since we haven't read everything yet.
Tumblr media
Trans, Nonbinary & Genderqueer Rep
Pet by Akwaeke Emezi
The Sacrifice by Rin Chupeco
An Accident of Stars by Foz Meadows
Hell Followed With Us by Andrew Joseph White
Thicker Than Blood by Sera Quim
Infinity Alchemist by Kacen Callender
A Bone in His Teeth by Kellen Graves
The Sunbearer Trials by Aiden Thomas
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
Junker Seven by Olive J. Kelley
Godly Heathens by H.E. Edgmon
The Flowered Blade by Taylor Hubbard
You can find more recs for Polyamory Rep, Sapphic / wlw Rep, and Achillean / mlm Rep all written by trans authors under the cut!
Tumblr media
Polyamory Rep
An Accident of Stars by Foz Meadows (Poly-normative world build, though I'm not 100% sure if there are any major polyamorous relationships)
Thicker Than Blood by Sera Quim (MMM with a trans masc protagonist)
Infinity Alchemist by Kacen Callender (M/M/genderfluid? Trans masc main character and a love interest who regularly uses alchemy to change their gender)
Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao (MMF)
SPECTR by Jordan L. Hawk (Whole series is M/M/genderless demon sharing a body with the main character. Volume 1 is being rebound which is why Volume 2 is pictured)
Mistress of Lies by K. M. Enright (From what I can tell MMF, but this is one of the few we haven't read yet)
Silver Under Nightfall by Rin Chupeco (MMF but Gabe would like me to convey that the most important part of the dynamic is that it's dom/sub/dom)
Please feel free to ask for more info on these especially, at least one of us have read most of these (and the few we don't are high up on our reading list for the week.)
Tumblr media
Sapphic / wlw Rep
We have been building our sapphic library but apparently need to focus on more sapphic romance written by trans authors specifically! Here's what we do have (with some real gems we love). We tried to aim for all of these having the main romance be sapphic!
Gwen & Art are Not in Love by Lex Croucher
The Dead Take the A Train by Cassandra Khaw & Richard Kadrey (Book 1 in a duology)
Providence Girls by Morgan Dante
The Fall That Saved Us by Tamara Jerée
Time and Time Again by Chatham Greenfield
An Accident of Stars by Foz Meadows (I think this is a completed duology!)
Junker Seven by Olive J. Kelley (This is getting a sequel!)
Tumblr media
Achillean / mlm Rep
This category ended up being...quite large. It really goes to show you just how many more gay books by trans authors have come out in the last few years! Okay, strap in, here we go:
Captive Prince & Dark Rise by CS Pacat (Captive Prince is a completed triology and Dark Rise will be a trilogy)
Thicker Than Blood by Sera Quim
How to Bite Your Neighbor & Win a Wager by D. N. Bryn
Prince of Sorrows by Kellen Graves (Book 1 of the Rowan Blood series, which currently has 4/8 books out)
A Strange and Stubborn Endurance by Foz Meadows (Book 1 of the completed Tithenai Chronicles duology)
Infinity Alchemist by Kacen Callender (Book 1 of the Infinity Alchemist series)
Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao (Book 1 of a triology with 2/3 books currently out)
SPECTR by Jordan L. Hawk (18 connected novella length stories collected into what should soon be 6 volumes if you want them physically! Each novella is one case!)
So This Is Ever After, Spell Bound, Otherworldly, & In Deeper Waters by FT Lukens (Each is a complete stand alone romance!)
Silver Under Nightfall by Rin Chupeco (Book 1 of the completed Reaper duology)

✨ BOOK REVIEW ✨
Emberclaw by LR Lam
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
QOTD: What’s the last sequel you read?
[instagram]
Thank you DAW and Netgalley for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was so happy to be back with these characters and so anxious for what they faced.
I loved the whole magic academy plot this book had going for it. I didn’t actually think Arcady would get there and the fact that they did made me so genuinely happy even though they had so much crap to deal with.
I loved the relationship formed between Arcady and Sorin. I would absolutely love a short story of them just hanging out having some kind of carefree holiday together, like what their trip to Willem’s estate could have been under better circumstances.
I LOVED Willem, Rahela and Damon and the group they formed with Arcady. Honestly fictional friendships make my heart sing and this group was no exception.
The romance between Everen and Arcady is EVERYTHING. I love them so much!
The climax and resolution felt really well paced and I really enjoyed how everything turned out. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire last 100 pages.
I really loved this duology and I can’t recommend it enough.

THE FEALTY OF MONSTERS Volume 1
Copies to be shipped within the U.S. are available again! The price including shipping and a physical copy of the book signed by me and @t-hornapple plus free digital files included
Winter 1917. After years on the run from a dangerous cult, twenty-three-year-old Sasza and his father have established themselves among the Odonic Empire’s ruling class. But there’s a problem: Sasza is a vampire, and vampires aren’t supposed to get involved in human governance. What the aristocracy doesn’t know, after all, cannot hurt them. Unfortunately, Sasza is far more involved than a stealth vampire should be. Not only does he work to quell the rumors of the vampires’ responsibility for an unsolved massacre, his lover is also the pro-proletariat Ilya, the Empire’s Finance Minister, who tries to recruit Sasza into the same cult hunting him. Then—the Emperor declares war against the Vampire States. Diplomacy has failed. Sasza quickly learns that he will do anything to preserve peace–including giving in to the monstrosity he spent so many years concealing from even himself.

You guys should read dd's umbrella by Hwang Jungeun. Absolutely fantastic set of twin novellas: one about a nonbinary working-class person in Seoul, navigating grief and big city loneliness after the death of their partner, and the other about a lesbian and her partner reconciling their personal problems as a same-sex couple in South Korea, with the political upheavals following the 2014 Seoul Ferry tragedy. It was so, so good.
