Synopsis: Wire hands you a small, cyllindrical object that has your curiosity peaked. It is not until he begins eating until you realise exactly what it is he's given you.

Warnings: surgical talk, mention of a food allergy, exhausted Doctor, grumpy doctor. gn!reader x platonic!Wire, undressing crewmates, medical administration, swearing.

“Hey Doc?” A smooth, warm baritone purred down at you from your position lining up for food in the mess hall, “I've got something for you.” 

Curiosity plagued your mind, prompting you to turn and view the taller member of the Kid-Pirates who loomed over your body with his great height. In his larger hand, he held out a small, cylindrical object and passed it to you without a further word. 

With brows furrowed, you turned the lengthy object in your hands and read the scrolled print on the exterior of the smooth surface. A small, blue cap was protruding from the end, a coiled blade hidden in the orange end of the barrel. Leaning closer, you sounded out the title aloud. 

“Epinephrine?” you quizzed him, looking up at Wire and darting your eyes around his posture, “Why are you giving me this, Wire?” His eyes moved from the tube to your face with a soft, playful smirk pulling at his cheeks. 

Looking down to Wire's ceramic plate, you noticed his amassment of crustaceans piled in a whopping heap in the center of the dish. Pursing your lips, your tone held a deep warning in your chastising words. 

“Wire,” you narrowed your eyes, looking to his plate and back to his mischievous gaze, “Are you allergic to shellfish?” His eyes twinkled, plucking a skewer with freshly charred shrimp and scallops dressed in chili butter and herbs. 

“Wire,” you tilted your head to the side, “Don't do it.” Your dark, hummed warning only seemed to spur him to draw it closer to his lips. 

“I swear, Wire,” you stepped closer, prompting him to retract his proximity and turn away from you, “If you're anaphylactic, I swear to the great sea-beasts, Wire.” His smirk widened, and his playful eyes never left yours. His mouth opened, his tongue darted out and flickered over the tantalizing skewer Killer had dotingly prepared for the crew. 

Placing your own plate down beside you, you attempted to jump to collect the shellfish from his hands a moment too late. His lips opened further, the shrimp and scallops passing into his lips and having him crunch on the juicy shell and swallow it whole. 

Humming in satisfaction at the flavor, he opened his mouth and began heartily shoving in crab flesh, lobster tail, pipis in curry broth, and fresh oysters with lime. 

“Oh, for fucks sake, Wire!” you growled at him, slamming your unoccupied fist on the cafeteria railing and reading the instructions on how to administer the epinephrine with the greatest success. 

“Remove blue safety cap without damaging the cartridge-... Fuck, Wire!” you began hastily reading, watching your crewmates face beginning to swell and turn purple. He was smiling and wincing all the way, swallowing another juicy scoop of lobster tail down his rapidly closing throat. 

“Swing and push orange tip against outer thigh with force and wait until you hear the click-... Wire, stop eating!” You roared, tugging off the blue cap and removing his belt to get better access to the muscle of his thigh. There was no way you could penetrate the thick leather pants with the small blade hidden within the barrel, prompting your rage to ignite further as you undressed your crewmate. 

“Hold for at least three seconds-. -Wire, put down the king-crab leg!” You managed to usher Killer in to aid you in your plight, who managed to pry away the delectable assortment of crustaceans on Wire’s plate and toss it to Kid. Your captain was not hiding his smile in the slightest, laughing as Wire threw him a swift ‘thumbs up’ and a rapidly swelling smile. 

Finally punching the epinephrine barrel into Wire’s bare thigh, he breathed in a heaping lungful of air and began to pant as his throat reopened. The swelling of his face went down after thirty seconds, the soft tears gathering in his eyes from the lack of oxygen did not take away your fury at him for making you puncture his skin as a balm for his stupidity. 

“Wire, what the fuck?” your barked growl prompted a laugh to rise from within the mess hall, the loudest was your captain's amongst them. “Happy with yourself?” Wire joined his crew with another hefty laugh, looking to Killer and clapping his hand over his shoulder. 

“Worth it,” he nodded in satisfaction before looking down into your eyes. He pinched your chin between his index finger and thumb, scrunching up his nose and teasing you with his gratitude, “Thanks, Doc. You're a lifesaver.”

You tugged your face away from his grip and turned back to your discarded meal. Huffing out an exasperated puff of breath, you shook your shoulders and returned back to reassembling your evening meal with your lips grimaced in agitation. As you sat down beside Killer at the table, you took a bite of the dish and immediately felt the tension and agitation leave you instantaneously. 

“Oh, fuck,” you moaned, bringing your palm up to your lips and chewed on the mouthful of shellfish. Sparing a glance at Wire, you hollowed your hand after swallowing and called over to him, “You were right, Wire. It is worth it.” 

Killer smirked beneath his mask, giving your shoulder a firm squeeze in thanks for your praise before he stood to begin tidying up the mess left behind by the crew.

Eustass Kid doesn't do love. He does one night stands, hookups and lust. He simply just does not do love, it isn't a word in his vocabulary. Sure he sings about it frequently but those aren't songs Kid has written himself; those are Heat's songs dedicated to whoever he's in love with that week.

Love is real, he knows that. He's seen it with his parents, Heat with his many lovers and felt it in its platonic form for his fellow band members. But love just isn't for him. He has no need for it in his life. He's always seen love as a distraction; something that seeps into your life, overtaking it and soiling your motivation like a bad addiction as it conquers you. Kid can't afford distractions in his career when he's worked so damn hard to reach the halls of fame. "Love will always be a fucking waste of my time and energy," he reminds Heat every time the bluenette tries to encourage him to trial the dating pool, "Why would I pursue some relationship with some pathetic loser and force myself to fall in love with someone when hookups exist?"

Kid knows his outlook on relationships and love is unusual, practically unheard of when taking his family (a bunch of gross sappy goth and punk couples) into consideration. Eustass Kid technically has all of the makings to be a true romantic but, unlike his sworn brother Killer, he just can't stand any of that shit.

At least that's what he thought, until he meets you.

Kid has know about you since he was young, fresh into his career and full of dreams to become a star. It's incredibly hard not to know who you are considering how long you've been supporting them. You're loyal, he'll give you that, a proud fan since they were a small cover band filming in Wire's garage with dreams for the stage. He has no idea what could possibly possess someone to have such blind faith in the weird metal band with wacky hairstyles and horrible videography. I mean, Wire's head was cut out frame for most of their covers and Kid was rocking an attempt at a emo haircut. Why had you stuck around so long to watch them grow into their careers? Why were you still so dedicated to giving them all your money? And why did he find himself caring so fucking much about what you wanted?

Thinking about wanting to try my hand at a Stommy fic, like maybe an unrequited thing that is strictly platonic? Like it's canon-following for when Steve and Tommy break off their friendship, but after season 4, they reconvene during volunteer work or something. And Steve sees Tommy making food or folding blankets or whatnot and says something like, "Never took you as someone willing to help." And of course it's bitchy, snarky conversation back and forth for a little bit, but then they get closer once again as they realize like—oh shit, things are kind of fucked up right now.

And they talk about seeing these awful creatures with terrible teeth. Steve tells Tommy about what truly happened to people like Barbara Holland and that sweet guy that used to work at RadioShack and Billy Hargrove. But when Steve mentions Billy (and I am not a Billy apologist, but you have to also realize that Tommy had some sort of friendship with him) Tommy gets immediately upset, but he's like the kind of guy who's emotionally kind of constipated—won't let other people see him cry, tries full-heartedly not to, but for just this once he allows himself to breakdown. Steve is an expert at breakdowns at this point, is able to provide comfort the best he can and Tommy soaks it up because it's not something he's really had before.

Tommy goes through some serious realizations with his self and his sexuality. Some incredible feats of character deconstruction and rebuilding as he realizes it actually feels nice to not be the bad person, that it feels okay to lean on the sweet kid that he used to be, before meeting Carol in high school. (I like to imagine that Steve and Tommy were childhood best friends and then stopped in high school and now go through the roller coaster of emotions with reconciling.)

But—Steve doesn't feel the way Tommy does. He enjoys having his childhood friend back, but doesn't feel anything romantic for Tommy. Maybe in the past, maybe he will in the future. But as there's an apocalypse and Steve's faced down great terrible things and lost too many people, or almost lost others, he can't fathom losing the new budding thing with Tommy. So he won't take the chance. And Tommy understands because—shit, yeah, if he were there when Billy died, he'd be an inconsolable mess.

So unrequited. But requited in the future, perhaps? I feel like Tommy is actually not that big of an asshole. He's just emotionally repressed, battling some serious internalized homophobia, and still finding footing in the world. But having his best friend again? It's incredible. Because Steve used to play pirates with him when they were in elementary school. And they used to swim laps around each other in the Harrington's pool. They baked a cake once for Tommy's mom and Tommy had been significantly better than Steve, but they had so much fun that the awful taste didn't even matter.

Hey Doc Masterlist

Word Count: 900+

Synopsis: Wire is curious about your past and asking a lot of questions. You would prefer if he left this for another time considering the operation you're performing.

Themes: Kid Pirates x gn!reader, platonic series, you are 'Doc', the doctor of the Kid Pirates. Risky language, not explicit, humour, Wire is being intrusive, he tests your patience. This started as a fun crack series, and I needed to bring it back.

Notes: Permissions for art used from @magnuspirate was given, and how beautiful is he? Go and have a look at their other work. I am obsessed with how they draw Heat, alongside the other Kid Pirates. I dreamed about this fic last night and woke up laughing a little bit about it. 5am fic writing, my beloved.

“Hey, Doc?” The calm and low baritone of the trident user called sweetly over his shoulder to you, “Why don't you like to talk about your past?”

His question seemed reasonable enough. You had yet to really discuss who you were, what you did, or anything to do with personal relationships before joining the Kid Pirates. You weren't a native to the North like the majority of the crew, being an outsider they let in when visiting a port.

Letting out a soft sigh, you shook your head and continued to make good on the taste you set for yourself. Knitting your brows tighter together, you pursed your lips and used your utensil to extract another small object between their pincers.

“I just don't particularly like talking about me,” you utter without inflection on the words, “It's not a pretty story, nor is it remotely interesting in my opinion.” You placed the object in a small container before making to go back for another, “Now, I would prefer to focus on what I'm doing, so if you would please refrain from asking me questions, I would appreciate it.”

Wire pondered for a few moments, humming softly as he thought more on your deflection of the question.

“You know, I'm no ships counselor,” Wire uttered defensively, “But even I know not to internalize your past, especially when it caused you such a hard injury earlier.”

You look down at your healed leg briefly, still feeling the sting of the object embedded in your muscle, and the sour flavor from the poison igniting your blood. Shaking it off, you once again return to what you had set yourself to do.

“You're right,” you agree with him, nodding briefly, “You're not ship's counselor. Now, please stop asking me questions about my past. I would be happy to answer anything you want soon, but not now.”

Wire seemed to take this as his queue to sit in silence as you plucked and prodded at your latest project. But that silence only lasted as long as his questions halted its burn.

“Who was that person?” Wire asked you suddenly, his voice a little louder than it had been moments prior, “And why did they attack you on sight?” You sighed through your nose at this, rolling your neck on your shoulders to rid it of tension from your hunched position.

“Some other time, Wire,” you growled, your voice low and laced with warning. Wire refused to take that as reason enough to stop, curiosity eating at him the longer you avoided it.

“And the poison?” he asked you suddenly, “Why did you have a cure under your bed? Were you expecting something like this?”

“Wire,” you made your voice a little louder, disciplinary and tough, “Enough. I am concentrating.”

“And why did-?” Wire began once more, prompting you to throw your tweezers into the tray beside you and move to where he was laying face down on the medical bay.

Bringing your eyes to his, you narrowed them and upturned your lip to a soft grimace.

“Wire, I said some other time,” you spoke firmly, “I did not say ‘no’, nor did I avoid the questions you’re asking.” You nod along, ensuring you maintained eye contact with him. “I will answer you, just not now. Do you understand?”

Wire furrowed his brows, his mop of dark and silvery curls dancing at his face with his hood laying on the medical office chair. Still reclining on his belly, his curiosity plagued him as he darted his eyes between yours.

“Why won't you answer me now? We're alone, you don't have to think about it, you can just speak,” he commented, gently reaching one of his larger hands towards you and giving your forearm a friendly squeeze. “I thought we were friends. You don't have to talk, but I can admit, the curiosity has been eating at me since we got back from our mission to that island together.”

You inhaled a deep lungful of air, expanding your chest with it, before deflating it through a lengthy exhale through your nose.

“Wire,” you warn him almost sweetly, “You are currently laying flat down, on your belly, on my examination bed with your briefs, shoes and fishnets tucked neatly on the chair in front of you.” You gesture towards the chair his hood was tucked on. “And I am currently operating extremely close to, and directly on, your anus.”

You gesture towards the tray, reminding him where he was, and who he was talking to. A warm blush flooded his whiskered cheeks, burning his features with the hot ignition of a large fluster.

“Now, while I appreciate the sentiment, and I adore you, commander,” you utter sweetly, returning to your position at his exposed rear cheeks, “Removing cactus spindles from your ass cheeks, inside and outside your rectum, and the ones you managed to collect on your scrotum…” you continued, picking up your tweezers and returning to your task, “...Is not the position I would like to be in when talking about my childhood.”

Wire gulped back his silence, burying his forehead on his butterflied out arms. The tips of his ears remained red as you continued, wanting to punish him a little for continuing to push your boundaries.

“The only place I appreciate winking at me when I talk is from the eyes attached to your face,” you comment, plucking another spindle from his flesh and placing it in the container beside you, “So, please refrain from asking me personal questions while I am so close to your sphincter. I think we would both prefer it if the mood for intimate conversation was set elsewhere. Am I clear, sir?”

Wire nodded, extending his left arm over his blushing head and gesturing with his thumb to confirm your orders.

“Aye, Doc,” he mumbled against his right arm, “You're clear.”

“Wonderful."

Random ramble about my obsession with One Piece (just a warning in case you haven't finished Dressrosa Arc) and a reasoning for my haitus :')

So, why was I on haitus? I was seeing someone who later on became my boyfriend for the next 6 months which ended up with me revolving my life around him thus leading me to neglect my passion projects.

I won't go much into detail for privacy reasons.

Let's just say, this dude's need to be "important" is so big that he had to find another girl to make himself feel important, instead of fixing the relationship or just breaking up with me instead of cheating. You watch One piece? Blame Zoro's actor, Mihawk's actor, and Garp's actor for dragging me into the fandom. Now, I'm so deep into the anime that within 4 months I reached around 700 episodes. I'm almost done with the Dressrosa Arc; Ever since then, I'm hyped to write an x reader fic but, I'm not sure if I want to do a.) OP various x reader fic series, b.) stick to just one character as a love interest, or c.) just do like a platonic fic with a reader insert who shares a lot of fluff or crack moments with the strawhat pirates.

If I do the first or third choice, I sort of have the rough idea of what I want. However, I'm unsure of how I'd tackle certain things.

If I do the second choice, I have the same concept for the reader but, I'm torn up with the idea on who I would make the reader's love interest. So far, my choices are Law, Ace, Sabo and possibly Kid (I'm shocked about Kid since I barely know him but, I'm intrigued by him oddly enough).

Admittedly, I wanna write a Sabo x Reader fic just because I don't see enough content on him: In Quotev, Wattpad, and Tumblr. I AM LEGIT IN LOVE WITH HIS ENG DUB (I'm biased because his VA voices 'Vash the Stampede' and 'Lelouch Britannia') I can't stop thinking about Sabo and his voice that I'm willing to give in into my degeneracy even though I have not finished my other (The Servant: TUA fic) yet 🗿.

The issue is that, since I'm like 700+ episodes in into OP, I don't wanna start rewatching the whole show just to catch small details or understand the character better. I could read the Wikipedia yes, but there are small details integrated in the episodes that can be used in future chapters or interpreted differently which is something I like doing. I can take advantage of the narrative or find a way to make the reader's involvement more smooth and she doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Right now I'm in a conundrum about the whole thing. 🧍‍♀️

10: Top three favorite fic tropes

Hmm! So many… But the three that come to mind first are--

*Recently, I’ve been into the “rescue mission” trope. I love seeing the build up of emotions, the whump factors for the person needing rescuing, seeing the protectiveness of the rescuer, and the comfort that comes after. And the best part? The emotions are still there whether it's platonic or not!

(Okay, that's more of an Ortho MAlleus thing, but I digress!)

*angst with a happy ending; something I picked up from old 80s movies that I used to watch with with my folks. (Fun fact: Indiana Jones and the Lost Arc was rated PG that means the face melting scene was deemed okay for kids as long as a parent was there.)

*Do AUs count? I’m counting them anyways. I love fantasy aus! Urban, supernatural, pirate--shut up they count!--fairytales, RPG—you name it! These have all the elements I like and situations/plots I love to place characters in. I love quests, the villain who knows how to villainize, the treasure, dragons, the mystery, the magic, and more.

25: Is writing the whole thing beforehand better or worse than writing it as you go?

Definitely the former for me! I tried the latter with my Runaway story and while writing as I went held a lot of perks, it also meant that scenes repeated themselves, there was plot holes, and out of no where solutions. I prefer having everything written so I can have a posting schedule, patch the plot holes, and make sure the characters aren’t repeating themselves.

The down side to doing that is occasionally I’ll spend a long time writing a story that ends up not getting the attention I want which is depressing as I used to write 25 chapters that often had had over 5000 words per chapter, so that was a kick in the gut.

(However, I should have known better as it was a rare pair fic.)

30: Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn't.

Again, so many! I have so many plot bunnies but not all of them grow so I have to shoot them otherwise they just take up room on my PC.

One story I had was for TWST where I did a version of Demon Slayer with Silver in the role of Tanjiro and Lilia as Nezuko. It was supposed to follow Silver’s journey to turn Lilia back to normal while feral dad protected his bby boy, even getting territorial.

I was also going to write a NajMalleus story that was Aladdin meets Cinderella, but then I learned that Najma was 14, so halted the presses on that.

(Shame, as I think having them as a couple would be interesting for all involved. Oh well!)

I am glad to hear that it was actually pretty good though and I’m also happy to hear that that I’ve turned you into a LuSan shipper as it’s one of my favorite ships in One Piece in all honesty! Like one of my many fankids is actually their kid with Sanji being her Mom

Also I am glad that you liked the platonic fic as well because G8 is one of my comfort arcs like I got sick with a sore throat a few days ago and just wound up on my side watching my favorite episode from it because the characters really make me feel safe and comforted

So I decided to try share that with you all too in the form of a Familial Yandere Fanfic about them! I hope that it did manage to spark a little bit of that same energy as I thought that the ending alongside the rescue from those evil NPC’s was very sweet if not scary in a Yandere sense

I very much struggled with the Sabo story too like I was half tempted to be like “Fuck, I can’t do this…” but then came that idea and all turned out okay!

Plus I can see Sabo going through like twenty stress balls in a day if he’s fighting his Yandere urges like the people around him are just staring wide eyed as he pops another one, grabs a new one, and then pops that one like two squeezes later

Also I am trying to drink a lot of water so thank you so much for reminding me! If you would like to talk more though then I think some of my anxiety is wearing off a little and I do have this Poppy Playtime x One Piece thing that I can tell you about in DM’s if you’d like!

Anywho, I’m gonna get back to trying to wind down with some Animal Crossing but I am glad to see that you still like my stories! And sorry for not talking to you much in DM’s
