Deaged Danny escapes the GIW and goes to Gotham. He has some sort of connection to the Waynes, but it doesn't really matter the exact details. Possible options:

Demon twins (Danny is deaged to whatever age Damian thought he died as)

Lost child/sibling (Danny was adopted, Tucker tracked down living bio-relatives to one of the Waynes. Dealer's choice on which Wayne and how they're related, and how they react to Danny being the wrong age.)

Danny is a clone (in which the Fentons are crazy and cloned one of the Waynes, OR Danny was born in a lab for an unrelated plot and one of the scientists grew a conscience and put the baby in the system for adoption. Again, Tuck is the real mvp here.)

Etc

Danny gets settled into the Wayne family, who immediately start researching and tearing down the GIW on behalf of their newest member.

Suddenly, the boomerang appears out of nowhere and launches at Danny. He's terrified the Fentons (either a bad reveal or at least the ASSUMPTION of a bad reveal) or the GIW sent it, but hopeful that it might be his friends looking for him.

Instead, it's an age-correct version of Danny, who is absolutely losing his shit because he finally found the baby clone, thank the ancients he's safe, are you injured, how long have you been with the Waynes, how much do they know?

In other words, Danny was cloned by the GIW but didn't know, when his friends (and parents if the bad reveal turned out to be false) came to rescue him and destroy the facility, the clone with all of his memories also escaped (believing themselves to be the original), none of them the wiser. The clone sought out their connection to the Waynes, believing that returning home wouldn't be safe. Team Phantom (and/or Fentons) only discovered the clone's existence a few days later while combing through the data they stole from the GIW facility and then immediately set out to find the lost clone.

Tucker (and/or Fenton parents) created a bracelet to mask Danny's ecto-signature to prevent the GIW from finding him again, and had the brilliant idea to use the boomerang to find the clone since it couldn't track Danny now. (Or they tested the effectiveness of the bracelet with the boomerang, which took a hard left and disappeared off to the east. After discovering the existence of the clone, they had a collective ‘oh shit’ moment and quickly accessed the boomerang’s gps data to track it down.)

Reading a lot of DPxDC fics lately, heres my take on the Danny is Damian's twin AU:

Danny was injured to near death and left for dead by the League as a young boy. Ra's only wanted one heir and Danny was less bloodthirsty than Damian, so it was decided that Danny had to go.

Danny is found and taken to a hospital in Illinois, barely alive. He is saved and wakes up with basically no memories of where he was from and speaking a rare dialect of arabic that none of the cops investigating his case can identify. What words Danny does know in english are concerning so the cops figure Danny was being held by some sort of murder, death cult.

The investigation runs cold and Danny is sent to foster care once his injuries heal. He is then adopted by the fentons and moves to Amity Park. As he grows the only clear memories he has of his past is another boy his age who he felt safe with. He knows the other boy is important to him but not why. He cant even really remember his face, certainly not his name. Danny always felt shitty that he couldnt remember the other boy because if he did, then the cops would have rescued him from the murder death cult too. Instead the other boy is presumably there and getting hurt all the time like Danny was.

Danny gets his powers like normal at 14 and decides that now that he has superpowers he absolutely has to save that other boy. Sam and Tucker help him gather clues, he starts to remember a bit more. He remembers the word ahki and realizes that the other boy is his brother!! Which just really enhances Dannys need to save him from the murder death cult. Eventually Tucker finds a picture of Damian Wayne and Danny is like thats him. Thats my brother.

Wait.

Bruce Wayne is his brothers dad???

Bruce Wayne is a rich fruitloop like Vlad obviously, so he is probably a member of the murder cult. Danny has to rescue his brother from the illuminati.

Cue Sam going to a socialite dinner in gotham much to her parents delight. Getting close to Damian by talking about animal rights, slipping him some sleeping pills in his vegan food. Tucker hacking into the gala and causing a commotion. Danny lugging an unconscious Damian out of the Gala and into the GAV ( no, his parents dont know why he borrowed the car or where he is).

Damian wakes up and immediately tries to attack Danny thinking hes a clone. Danny is like woah shit no its me! Its your brother. Damian is like Danyal is dead. Danny is like obviously not. Now chill out im rescuing you from the cult.

Damian, who has been secrectly mourning his twin for years, has never heard anyone call the League of Assassins a cult. He has to reevaluate a lot of things while Danny drives the GAV out of Gotham as fast as he can. Danny explains his whole backstory and how he is sorry he didnt come to save Damian earlier, his memories were gone but he had never forgotten how important Damian was to him. Damian doesnt do emotions on a good day and is unable to handle that like a normal person.

"Father isnt part of the cult, Danyal."

"Hes a billionaire from Gotham, of course he is!"

Damian who has fought many rich people from gotham, all of whom were evil, tries to find an explanation that isnt 'our dad is batman'. Danny isnt listening to any of it, promising Damian that he will be safe from the murder cult in Amity.

Damian eventually gets out that their mother was in the cult and their father didn't know about them. Danny pulls the GAV over and looks at Damian.

"Did i just kidnap you for no reason?"

"It was a kind gesture at least Danyal."

"Fuck. I just kidnapped bruce wayne's kid in the middle of a gala, am i super villain now?"

"Not if you take me home. Father will understand Danyal."

"I dont want to go to jail!"

Damian gives Danny the address to Wayne Manor and Danny drives to Bristol.

When they walk inside Damian now has to explain the whole 'had a dead brother i never told you about' thing to a less than amused batfam.

Danny introduces himself to Bruce and says that he has an adopted family back in illinois, but that he would be happy to get to know Bruce, also sorry about the kidnapping i dont normally do that i thought you were part of the illumimati and i had to rescue my brother.

Bruce just hopes this kid is normal.

Danny looked around the tiny flat that had cost him half his precious paycheck. Stained walls. Creaking floorboards. Only halfway functional fridge.

“Dani…”

“Don’t say it, I know what you’re thinking,” his younger ghost sister/clone/cousin/hellspawn said smugly. “It’s perfect. I get it, I thought the same thing when I moved here, and it only gets better.”

“Somehow I feel like it doesn’t,” he mumbled, swinging the microwave open and being blasted with a terrible pungent smell.

“This is where I get my cheap entertainment, since I can’t afford a TV.”

Danny looked on as a homeless-looking person in a weird costume with bright colors fought against a person in a leather jacket and a red helmet. Dani took this in stride, popping a potato chip into her mouth and waving.

“Looking shabby, Hood!”

“Fuck off, shrimp!” ‘Hood’ didn’t even glance over at them, just yelling as they fought.

She shrugged at Danny. “See? We’re chill.”

“…uh-huh.”

The next place Dani took him was a flight away, and much more welcoming.

Too welcoming.

“Dani? Is that you?” A male voice called out. It came from behind the rusty door they stood in front of. Danny glanced at the girl, who he assumed was the one being called.

“Hey, Dick,” Dani responded in an uncharacteristically soft voice.

Danny wondered if she had grown closer to this person, maybe opened up to them a little bit. They seemed to think so, bounding out the door with a softly concerned expression. Instinctively, Danny turns invisible.

“Um, is it okay if I have dinner with you tonight?” Dani asks, wringing her wrists in a way Danny knew was unnatural for her.

He narrowed his eyes suspiciously, but Dick thought nothing of it.

“Of course Dani, you know you’re welcome anytime.” Dick let her in eagerly, and Dani scurried in shamelessly.

He gaped after her. Is she…? Danny shook himself. Dani did things differently, he shouldn’t be so judgmental. He examined the man in front of him, instead.

Tan skin and shaggy, black hair. A friendly smile that was practiced to perfection, but not fake. Danny followed him and Dani tentatively.

He waited in the corner of the plain safe house, waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it didn’t. Dani ate dinner, smiled, hugged him, and left.

“You’re taking advantage of him.”

“He’s offering these services specifically for people like me.”

Danny frowned, but he decided to accept it for now.

Danny tugged at his stuffy collar. “Why am I even here?”

Dani grinned up at him and handed over another hors d’oeuvre. Danny accepted it graciously. Taking from a friendly man feeding people in need, he was iffy on. Stealing from tech billionaires, he was competitively involved in.

“Vlad gets a lot of invitations to these galas, so I started giving them a new address to send them to. These,” Dani held up the bite-sized food,” are the highlight. That, and people watching.”

Danny raised an eyebrow. “I don’t see how a bunch of uptight men are entertaining to—“

A sudden crash, bang, and thunk provided an unexpected view of the city.

Gasps and pearl clutching ensued, yet Danny noticed the man who had organized the gala, Bruce Wayne, was escaping in the smoke.

Dani followed his gaze. “Follow them. That’s where the real juicy secrets are at.”

He did as she said, slipping into the smoke and trailing them to a nook. There, Bruce Wayne and his adopted kin paused and began ripping off their suits…

What?

…and into another, much more familiar suit.

the idea of the whole school of Casper high judging wes´s flirting skills and then being horrified that they still somehow kinda work is gold!!

also i feel like somewhere in the future someone in the batfam will ask baby dami how he got the "demon" name since hes a clone and hes just going to look the person in the eye and say "my brothers pet stalker gave it to me"

"MY BROTHER'S PET STALKER GAVE IT TO ME" that's now the only way Damian refers to Wes - that and 'Weston'. And just imagine Danny walking into that room in that moment as he says it, and then perking up and going "Oh are we talking about Wes?" and he walks over to ruffle Damian's hair and affectionately goes, "and he's not my pet, Dames." But he doesn't deny the stalker bit.

(And you know if Wes was there he'd be denying it up and down that he's a stalker - he's an investigator. A detective! Quit calling him that!) And the batfam present all exchange slightly concerned looks with one another and someone -- lets go Dick or Tim or Bruce, goes "Stalker?"

Danny just waves it off with a huff and goes "it's not that serious, don't worry i've got it handled" before changing the subject to something else. Or talking a little bit more about wes without bringing up that he thinks he's a vigilante (which he is).

and also yesss imagine the first time dany goes to bother wes during the middle of lunch and danny says something mildly tame compared to what he normlly does because wes is with a bunch of friends -- maybe he decides to do the "hey Weston, I heard you spreading rumors about me being Phantom?" thing, and he's wearing this bewildered smile

all of Wes' friends are giving Wes this LOOK like 'way to go genius, you got his attention, now what?' and instead of Wes stammering or backtracking, instead he doubles down on it. All of his friends are looking at him like Velvet from Trolls 3 when Veneer revealed that they were phonies. Just utter betrayal.

just. just this face. the entire table is making that face at Wes as he (to them) fumbles the bag so badly that he may as well have tossed it into a gutter. They all watch as Fenton is weirded out by Wes, and the two of them have this back-and-forth with Fenton poking holes at Wes about him being Phantom and Wes just keeps saying he is Phantom, and he should stop denying it.

When Fenton finally leaves, Wes' best friend turns and thwacks him hard in the shoulder and hisses at him what the hell did he just do? He didn't just miss the basket, he missed the entire damn court entirely! he threw the ball into the stands!

And Wes hisses back at him that he has no idea what he's talking about. Wes' friend calls him an idiot. A big dumb idiot. And then Fenton goes and bothers him in the hallway a few days later. And everyone else?? Flabbergasted.

And then it keeps. happening. Fenton keeps?? approaching Wes? And he sometimes he seems vaguely delighted by their conversations, like Wes is saying some of the funniest things in the world? -- and okay, maybe it is funny that he keeps getting accused of being a vigilante, its funny in a weird way. And Wes looks completely annoyed by his existence -- and you know what somehow this tracks because Fenton was dating Valerie for a time and she was completely annoyed by him when they first met. Maybe Fenton has a type???

Either way, nobody knows how to wrap their head around how Wes's cringefail "flirting" techniques are working. By all means, Fenton should be hating this guy because he keeps accusing him of being his parents' worst enemy (self-proclaimed by the Fenton parents), but instead he just appears bewildered but mildly entertained by Wes' antics.

Lois prides herself at being good at rolling with the unexpected. Unfortunately, all of her experience with aliens and supervillains and magic has not prepared her for Danny.

Danny has a disconcerting habit of dropping disturbing or traumatizing information in an off-hand way, seeming to not even realize the implications of his own words. It started with what he said about the dimension he'd grown up in discriminating against people with powers, then with what he'd said about the red son and the lack of superheroes, but it just keeps happening.

Lois tries not to call attention to it, because she prefers it to the alternative, which is Danny shutting himself up in his room and refusing to talk to any of them.

Lex Luthor is on the nightly news-- as he so often is-- and Lois has to explain the man's many crimes to Danny. (No, Jon, it is not a rant.)

"Oh," Danny says. "He sounds like Vlad."

"Vlad?" Lois asks.

"Yeah, Vlad Masters. He's my godfather. He's a total fruitloop who wanted to marry my mom and make me his son."

Lois carefully does not react. She wants Danny to tell her things. She wants to know what his life was like when she wasn't in it. "That sounds..."

"Yeah, he tried to clone me. Well, I guess he succeeded, but none of them were stable except for Ellie, and she wasn't really that stable to begin with."

"Ellie?"

"Yeah, short for Danielle. She went by Dani-with-an-I for a while, but she decided she wanted her own name."

That is not the part Lois was looking for clarification on. She goes with it anyway. "Tell me about her," Lois says, and tries not to be concerned about Danny’s descriptions of a teenage girl who apparently lives and travels on her own because she doesn't like to be stuck in one place. Ellie doesn't even get the full benefit of being quarter Kryptonian, living in a world with a red sun.

The four of them are sitting down to dinner-- pizza again; one of them should probably cook sometime this week, but Lois and Clark are both on deadlines-- when Clark asks Danny more about his adoptive family, the ones he grew up with.

He looks sad, the way he always does whenever his adoptive parents come up.   Lois can hardly blame him, when he lost them in such a sudden and traumatic way.  

"They're scientists," Danny says.  "Or they were.  They studied, um, the Ghost Zone and the things that live there.  They didn't really understand it at first-- they thought all the-- um, everything from there was evil and needed to be killed, but they learned they were wrong eventually."

Lois meets Clark's eyes and knows he is as concerned about what happened before that 'eventually' as she is.  Still, neither of them comment, not wanting Danny to clam up again..

Jon, however, has no such reservations.  "That's really messed up."

Danny shrugs.  "Yeah, kind of.  They came around, though.  And I think they blamed themselves for how bad the GIW got because they were the ones who designed the weapons."

"The GIW?" Lois asks, instead of what she really wants to know, which is: Your adoptive parents designed weapons to be used against beings from another dimension??? Did they know what you were? 

"Guys in White," Danny says.  "I don't think that was their real name, but they were from the government."

"Your parents built weapons for them?" Clark asks, his tone deceptively light.  "I thought they were scientists."

"They dabbled in a lot of things.  But they were fantastic engineers."  Danny segues into a story about some of the modifications his adoptive parents made to their car, which is a topic only slightly better for Lois's heart.

Later that night, Lois is sitting in bed, checking her emails on her phone, when Clark sits down next to her and turns on the white noise machine they keep on the nightstand.  (It's the only way to have private conversations when your child-- children-- have super-hearing.)

"I'm concerned about Danny," he says.

"No shit."  The more Danny tells them about the dimension he grew up in, the more Lois hates it.  "But there's nothing we can do now except be there for him."

"I know people who have traveled across dimensions, you know," Clark says.  "I could always ask for a favor."

"You won't," Lois says.  "Because if you do, I'm going to end up committing felonies in another dimension."  

Clark smiles humorlessly. "What makes you think I wouldn't be there with you?"

"Because you're a better person than I am."  Clark never believes her when she says that, but it's true.  Clark is a fundamentally good person.  Lois tries to be a good person, but there's a reason she's not a superhero.

Kon intended to stop by Metropolis several days ago.  Or at least call Clark back.  But he’d gotten sidetracked by an earthquake in Southeast Asia, and then by Dr Light causing problems in California.  

He gets a few hours of sleep back in Smallville, then remembers that he’d planned on dropping by Metropolis and meeting Danny days before.  He walks the last few blocks to Lois and Clark’s house— flying would be way too noticeable in their neighborhood— and lets himself in.  He walks up to the living room and spots Lois there, furiously typing on her laptop.  

Kon is man enough to admit, at least within his own head, that Lois kind of intimidates him. Sure, Clark is physically stronger, but there’s an intensity to Lois that Clark lacks.  She glances up at Kon, and even though she’s smiling, he still feels pinned under her gaze.  

Kon shifts uncomfortably, reminds himself that unless he turns into a corrupt businessman or something, he’s not actually in danger from Lois Lane.  

“You here to see Danny?” she asks.

“Yeah.”  Kon shoves his hands in his jacket pockets.  “I figured I should probably meet him.”

“He’s in his room,” Lois says.  “He’s not… It’s not a good day, but maybe he’ll talk to you.  He hasn’t exactly gotten the chance to be around anyone his own age since he showed up.”

Kon knocks on the door to Danny’s room.  

“Come in,” a voice calls from inside.

Kon’s first thought is that he looks more like Clark than Danny does.  Stupid; of course he does.  He’s Clark’s clone.  But then, Jon resembles Clark almost as strongly as Kon does, so maybe it wasn’t a completely stupid thought.

Danny is sprawled on his stomach across his bed, phone in his hand.  There’s a video playing on it— someone talking about the history of the Justice League— but he’s ignoring it, watching Kon with a wary expression.  The room is still as bland as it ever was; other than the clothes tossed haphazardly on the floor, there’s no sign a teenage boy lives here.

“I’m guessing you’re Kon?” 

“That’s me.”  They stare at each other awkwardly for a moment.  

“Have you actually seen any of Metropolis, or have you just been hanging out in here?” Kon asks.

“Lois took me shopping for some stuff,” Danny says.

“Okay, no,” Kon says.  “You have got to get out of this house.”  

“You don’t even live in Metropolis,” Danny says.  

Kon shrugs. “Doesn’t matter; I’ve spent more time here than you.” There’s an old-school arcade he’s been to a handful of times, and a couple of places to eat.  Anything has got to be better than Danny hanging out and brooding in this sad bedroom by himself.

It's a warm day outside.  The sun shines down on the two of them as they walk in near-silence toward downtown.  The awkward silence doesn't quite break until they're at the arcade, competing on an old racing game.  

"I don't think we have this one in my dimension.  The other dimension.  Whatever."  Danny says.

"Yeah?"  Kon speeds ahead of Danny in the game, just in time to cross the finish line.  Danny groans.

"Yeah, but this world doesn't seem to have Doomed, either," Danny says as they start another race.  "There's a lot of little differences like that."

"That's gotta be weird," Kon says.  

"Yeah, Clark kind of freaked out when I told him the sun there was red."

Yeah, Kon can see why.  They talk more as they play more video games, and Danny tells Kon about his friends and what they'd do when they were hanging out in his hometown of Amity Park.  The main people he talks about are his best friends, Sam and Tucker, and his older sister, Jazz, but he mentions a few others.  

"Wait, who is Ellie again?" Kon asks, after Danny shares a story about a prank she pulled on another kid at Danny's school.  They've left the arcade, and are hanging out at the diner a few blocks away.  It's not the coolest place-- in fact, it looks like a grandmother decorated it-- but Clark introduced Kon to it, and it has great food.

"Oh, I didn't tell you?" Danny asks.  "She's my clone."

Kon chokes a little on his soda.  "You have a clone?"

Danny is probably being paranoid.

Scratch that, he's definitely being paranoid. Lois and Clark have been nothing but nice, and they're clearly used to weird things happening. Like, even aside from the whole alien superhero thing, Lois just saw a kid fall out of a portal and decided to help?  Plus, Clark is an actual superhero.  

Even his— the Fentons came around on the whole “ghost powers” thing.  Eventually.  But he’s gotten used to hiding, to trying to blend in.  

(And what had them accepting him done for them in the end?  They’re dead, the GIW killed them.)

He’d rather hide than suddenly discover that Lois and Clark aren’t cool with their long-lost son being half dead.

Some of his powers he can pass off as Kryptonian— super strength, flight, enhanced senses.  He knows Lois saw his ghost form, and though she hasn’t asked about it, he’s pretty sure it’s just a matter of time.  

These thoughts circle through his mind over and over, only leaving him temporarily when he’s hanging out with the Lane-Kents.  

His bio family.  

That’s not much better, though; there’s a sadness in Lois and Clark’s eyes whenever they look at him, although they try to hide it.  Jon just a kid, and clearly doesn’t know what to make of the whole situation.  Lois keeps saying they are going to introduce him to more people, especially people his own age, but Danny shies away from that.  He doesn’t want to meet more people.  He doesn’t want to get comfortable here.

Still, he’s glad he came out with Kon.  An afternoon of videogames and greasy food hasn’t solved any of his problems, but it’s a nice break, and Kon has already promised to introduce Danny to his friends— a whole team of teenage superheroes.

“I can’t get over how many heroes there are here,” Danny says.  “Like, why do you even need that many?”  Sure, it would have been nice to have some more backup when he was Phantom, but in this world there seems to be at least one superhero for every major city, plus some extra.

Kon shrugs. “Natural disasters, alien invasions, supervillains, street crime… No one can handle all of it.”

Out of all the things he’s encountered so far in this dimension, this might be Danny’s favorite.  Even more than the proven existence of aliens.  Back home, Amity Park needed Phantom, even if they hated him.  But the world here doesn’t need Phantom.  

It’s kind of freeing, and Danny hates it.  He doesn’t want to like anything about this dimension more than his own.  

Would it really be that bad?  You might be stuck here forever, a little voice inside his head whispers.  

He ignores it.

OMg Damon is the perfect name for Clone Damian. He was having trouble pronouncing his name when Danny met him so he pronounced it Damon instead of Damian.

Having Vlad fixate on Damon/Wisp is just evil and I love it. He is going to get his ass kicked seven ways to Hell and back. And is probably going to push Danny too far one day possibly after he released Pariah Dark and then tried to pull something to get Wisp right after Danny just punted the Ghost King. Might even end up with Danny crushing/Eating Vlad's Core in a fit of Protective Parental Rage.

After leaving Amity with little to nothing to his name and refusing any help from Vlad, Danny knows he needs a job, a home, and maybe some health insurance that would be really cool. So Danny applies to as many places as he can, barely looking at the job listing, just putting out as many resumes as possible. And just before he gives up entirely, he gets a callback! Who cares if it's from some shady place called Lex Corp? At this point, a job is a job; all he has to do is work as some weird rich guy's assistant. Great, he can do this; no one is worse than Vlad, and hey, the chances of another billionaire being a supervillain are like super low……. Right?

So Lex has a problem, and that problem is PR; with all the trouble with superman and the justice league, his public perception has been in the toilet lately, and well, he needs to do something before his stock prices fall even more. After looking at different ways to endear himself to the public, he looks to his neighbors across the bay in Gotham. Bruce when from the front page of every trashy tabloid to the face of parenting with his numerous adoptions. And well, he doesn't necessarily want to adopt a whole child but an intern that could work. So he puts a listing up looking for high school to college-age individuals who want experience in business management. Most of what he gets back is worthless until he gets a resume from one  Daniel 'Danny' Fenton. Not only is he the son of two mad scientists, he had an early entry into the junior NASA program, but he's also the godson of one of his supervillain colleagues, Vlad Plasmius. So if he does hire him, he wouldn't have to hide any of his supervillain activities the lad may even be able to contribute to them.

However, in the background, Clack has been monitoring Luther's activity, and once he sees the innocent young man that he has coned into letting him parade around, he becomes concerned. And well, the daily planet has been looking for some new interns. Maybe he can convince the kid to work there instead. It would be for the best anyway, and it has nothing to do with the kid's incredibly slow heartbeat or may or may not have lifted some concrete off of someone during one of superman's battles. Ok, maybe it has something to do with the fact might be another surviving Krypton who was being taken advantage of by Luther. Or he might be a clone, but who knows? Either way, he's going to try to help the kid if only he would stop running away from him.

19 year old Phantom woke up strapped to a table in a lab in another dimension. He hadn't been to his home dimension in years for various reasons he really didn't want to discuss and spent most of his time in the Infinite Realms exploring with Ellie.

Danny casually phased out of his restraints and began wondering around. He heard the sounds of combat several floors down and figured that was why there was no one bothering him at the moment. It wasn't long before he came across a room filled with literal infants in hospital cribs and the only thing Danny could think was oh ancients, I got cloned again.

Needless to say he made several duplicates of himself and picked up all five children, cooing at them until they settled. Before making a portal back to the GZ Danny created a virus out of ghost lightning (something Technus taught him) and infected the computers to erase all data on it, regardless of wheat that data was.

By the time the Young Justice team burst in lead by Kon the information was already half destroyed and the clones that were made of each of them and the mysterious pit creature were gone.

By the time Tim managed to stop the virus there wasn't much left on the computers that was useful. They got a tiny bit more information on the pit creature, basically just 2 pictures of it. One of it sleeping in a talk filled with Lazarus water and one of it asleep restraints to a metal table. Other than that it was noted that its blood was a much much more potent version of the Lazarus Pit and was capable of bringing inanimate objects to life and at times giving them sentience.

They did get some camera footage of Phantom waking up, and everything that happened after, including the portal he made.

Kon was distraught that his little clone child was gone.

Five years later Danny was none the wiser that most of the kids weren't his biologically. Not that it would have mattered much to him anyway. Danny had no idea why his daughters hair was blond. (Cassies clone) He didn't know many people from his extended family due to his parents being disowned long before he and Jazz were born so he just assumed it skipped a generation or two. Besides, she and one of her brothers (Dannys clone) had the same icy blue eyes as him. One seemed to have the same auburn hair as dannys mother and was ridiculously fast (Barts clone) and the biggest one (Kons clone) loved sunlight and danny made extra sure to bring him out to sunny areas often after a health scare early on. He already learned out to shoot lasers from his eyes and Dannys only concern was that the lasers were red instead of pink or green, which was unusual.

The smallest and smartest of the pack (Tim's clone) was very clingy and affectionate. He was almost always with dannys clone either playing together or being menaces to society. There was rarely an in-between.

It was on one of thier little adventures (Danny looks away for two seconds and the whole lot of them are gone) that they wondered back in to thier home dimension and got noticed pretty quickly due to Kons clone very obviously having kryptonian superpowers.

-I know, on a meta level the showrunners probably wanted to just reset things to the status quo of him having a secret identity. But. We've been doing that for (2) seasons, I'd love if season 3 could be like, his parents adjusting to this and trying way harder to learn more and accept it (and the shenanigans that could come from that) and for fun, if he didn't wipe the students memories, it could be him being popular for a while, then everyone slowly realizing, oh, he's still Danny. Like. he might have ghost powers but hes Just The Same Guy instead of putting him on a pedestal (and seeing them all try and help him hide it from the giw/people who don't know!!)

-fuck they didn't even explain WHY he wiped everyone except sam, tucker and jazz's memories. he just Did It right when his parents were saying they loved/accepted him!! and sam and tucker didnt question it at all!!! HELLO??? very annoyed about this turn of events.

-anyway. onto season 3! I know its shorter than the first two seasons, and is the last season... I might just do it in 2 bursts if I can... :3c depends on the episodes' content and how much I want to say about each!

Accepting Agape

Summary: Dan introspects about Danny and Dani’s effortless love. He makes an epiphany. Aka Dan realizes he’s loved.

Words: 1,118

Dan wasn’t one to speak his mind. He’s a firm believer of speaking through actions rather than words. And though he hasn’t said this to anyone, he knows that Danny and Dani know this. They don’t tell him that either, but it shows. It shows in the way they take one look at him and immediately understand him, in the way they never get hurt by his words, and in the way they keep smiling at him.

Dan pauses in his shooting, and the metal ball falls to the floor. 

Dani looks at him from where she’s lying on her bed, reading a comic book. “What’s up with you?”

“What do you mean?” he grunts.

She squints at him. “I don’t know. You just seem weird today.”

Dan pauses to give her a look. “Weird?”

Dani nods, or at least, he thinks that’s a nod. It’s hard to tell when she’s upside down. “Yeah. You’re like… distracted. And you lack your usual bite.”

Something rises in his chest. It’s heavy and ugly, and it’s begging to lash out. He holds it in. “You’re seeing things, Twerp. Must be a side-effect of being short.”

Dani sends him an indignant scowl. “Hey! That was uncalled for!”

“So’s your nagging!” he rolls his eyes at her.

Dani huffs, and he’s pretty sure she’s trying to look angry, but all her puffed up cheeks do is make her look soft. “Fine,” she says as she turns back to her comic. “Be like that. Sorry I care.”

Dan can feel his core waver at that, and he doesn’t understand why for the life of him. Why was such a basic concept like care so hard for him to swallow? He faced it every day in the form of his family. They were not afraid to show open care toward him, not like the others before them.

And yet it still sits heavily on his core.

Swallowing that lump, he says, “Sorry.”

Dani gives him a searching look, and after a minute of observing him, she smiles. “Thanks.”

Ba-dump.

He looks away from her. “W-Whatever. How about we go bother Ma?”

The bed rustles behind him as Dani answers, “Sure. I’ve been meaning to ask him for help with math anyway.”

Liar, he thinks almost fondly. They both know Danny sucks at math. Dan’s watched them “study” before, and it was anything but that. At first anyway. They always started their sessions equally lost and confused, so they spend thirty minutes goofing off before Jazz notices and inevitably helps them.

A small part of him wonders why she bothers asking Danny first when she could just go to Jazz. But Dan knows the answer already.

“Well, if he’s failing and I’m failing too, we might as well fail together,” Dani told him when he asked her. Weird logic, but after watching their study sessions, he thinks he understands. Whenever Danny studies alone, he looks distressed and annoyed, and Dan knows somehow that it’s directed at himself rather than the work. With Dani, he no longer frowns at his mistakes and instead laughs when they both end up making it.

They lift each other up.

Sometimes Dan catches himself feeling jealous of their bond, but it’s nothing against either of them. It’s against himself. It’s against the fact that he can’t bring himself to be so raw with someone else, not the way Danny and Dani are.

“Dan?” a voice cuts through his thoughts, jolting him slightly.

It’s Danny, looking at him with open concern, the same expression Dani was wearing not too long ago, and it shakes his core a little. “Are you okay? You seem weird.”

Dani said that too, he blinks. They really were clones.

“That’s exactly what I said!” Dani huffs. 

Danny doesn’t look away from him. It feels like he’s staring right into his core, and Dan doesn’t know how to feel about that. The concern is still there.

“What is with you two and calling me weird?” He says. 

Danny blinks. Then, “I don’t know. It’s just a feeling, you know?”

“So, a mother’s intuition?” Dani pipes in with a teasing grin.

Danny rolls his eyes, but pats her head despite that. “You’re such a brat.”

This is usually where they start falling into their own friendly squabble, but this time, Danny’s eyes go right back to him. He stares at Dan for a long minute.

And then, he’s leaning back and smiling at Dan. “I know! Why don’t we go bully Boxy!”

Childish excitement, so light and strange and new, rises in his chest, but Dan keeps it down and just says, “If you want to, I guess.”

Dani rolls her eyes at him behind Danny. “Just say you want to, idiot. You’re not fooling anyone, it’s so obvious.”

Danny hums. “It really is. Like a kid being offered candy.”

“Oh, yeah?” Dan twitches. These two really like to annoy him with their games.

“Yeah!” Dani nods. “Your eyes get glowier and lips twitch. It’s so obvious, dude.”

“His hair even flickers,” Danny adds with a small smile. “It’s adorable.”

Ba-dump.

What the hell? Those are such minuscule things! Who in their right mind would notice something so small? Were they shitting with him? 

But Dan knows that expression on their faces. It’s the same expression they give him when he joins their silly shenanigans, or when he carries them and “complains”, or when he pranks people that make fun of them.

An expression full of love.

This is their rawest emotion, and they’re baring it to him so easily, without even trying. Like they don’t even need to think twice when it’s him.

Something settles softly onto his chest. It wraps around his core and his whole being like one of Danny’s soft blankets during their Mandatory Cheesy Movie Fridays, and it lifts away whatever lingering weight was left from earlier.

“You guys are ridiculous,” he says as steadily as possible, but he’s pretty sure they caught the slight tremor in his voice. 

“Whatever you say,” Danny shrugs. 

“Dooooork~” Dani fake-whispers to Danny.

An idea comes to Dan, and it brings a grin to his lips. “Hey, how about a change of plan, Ma,” He lights a small fire in his hand, “Why don’t we bully Twerp instead?”

And by “we”, he means he’ll chase her and Danny will watch their squabble from the sidelines while laughing.

Dani squeaks, but she’s laughing as she darts away and back into the Haunt. “Catch me if you can, slow-poke!”

“Oh, I’ll show you!” he darts after her, grinning all the way.

“Gremlins,” Danny sighs fondly. Transforming, he follows behind them.

The door to the Haunt closes gently.
