you know what really gets to me. is how jack loosens up david’s morals. like how david starts off as a staunch pacifist because of the Optics and strategy of it all, but then later he kicks a cop in the face and threatens him with a swing + tries to punch jack when he scabs. and both instances occur specifically because he cares so deeply about jack. But also there's this tidbit from the 91 script
Tumblr media
it's like. up until now, david's interactions with jack have largely consisted of david being openly skeptical/confrontational whenever he detects any kind of bullshit. and while he immediately clocks that all this stuff about santa fe is a lie, for the first time, he decides to let it go. Because there's a kernel of authenticity to the statement, though the authenticity doesn’t lie in factual truth, it’s in how jack desperately "wants it to be true". because. this is david's first time seeing the soft underbelly to jack. because david IS charmed by jack despite not really trusting him

Study Break ✧.*
Tumblr media
paige bueckers x college student! reader
warnings: making out, public sex (very much so), fingering, throat fucking,
word count: 1.6k
a/n: honestly one of my shorter ffs but it is what it is lol, also this is just a song rec but it’s also kind of similar to the plot I guess. It’s one of my favs
You stare out of the library’s window, tapping your pen to the table. Summer school just brings another level of boredom, you are dying to go outside and lay in the grass with your friends. It was golden hour, and everything just looked prettier outside. “Y/n, I brought you your iced coffee.”, your best friend Clara had said to you, snapping you out of your daze.
You are both studying for the first session of summer school finals, and have been taking turns bringing each other drinks. Whether it was red bull, coffee, monster or highly caffeinated tea, you both were locking in this entire week. Sure, your digestive systems were suffering the consequences, you just needed to finish off this session strong. You sip your coffee and flip through your digital flashcards when you were interrupted.
“Hey, uh the library is super packed here and you both have an extra two seats at your table, is it chill if we sit here?”, said an extremely tall blonde woman stood in front of you. She was wearing a white crop top and some cargo pants with her iPad in hand, and standing behind her was another girl you didn’t know. They looked familiar but you couldn’t put your finger on it.
“No, yeah of course you can sit, we don’t mind.”, Clara said, because you just were staring up at the girl who had asked you. You couldn’t help it, you felt drawn to her pretty blue eyes. You nod aggressively, now embarrassed at the fact that your friend had to answer for you. “Yeah-, yeah of course, I’m sorry.”, you start, motioning to the empty energy drinks in front of you. “My mind is definitely somewhere else today, sorry about that.”, you continue to defend yourself.
“Nah, you’re good ma don’t worry about it. Thanks.”, is all the blonde says to you. You couldn’t help but to sneak a few glances at her. You felt your phone buzz, and you check it.
**Clara Bear**
are you gonna study for organic chem or are you going to continue to stare at Paige Bueckers?
I get it’s pride month, but its also FINALS?
That’s when you realized, they were basketball players at your school. You internally face palm, Paige must think you’re just another one of her fans. You look up at her, and catch her eyes this time.
“So, girl who keeps looking over at me. What’s your name?”, Paige says, keeping her voice low and pushing her chair closer to you, since you are in the library. “Ah, it’s Y/n.”, you say, avoiding her gaze. “Does Y/n know my name perhaps?”, she says, closing your laptop - trying to get your full attention. “Mhm, it’s Paige, you play basketball don’t you?”, you say back, trying not to seem like a fan. It’s not like you were, you didn’t even know her until Clara texted you, you’ve seen her in ads and stuff at your university but nothing like being her fan.
“So uh, me and Y/n will be back. Study break things.”, Paige says, back to her friend and Clara. Clara gives you a look, one that says “don’t get into any trouble” before blowing you a kiss. You scrunch your face and flip her off, giggling. Your best friend knows you too much.
After following Paige out of the library and onto a hill in the field outside, you are finally able to breathe. The air has gotten crisp since the sun is going down, and you take a picture of the sky to capture the moment. Paige is quiet, also enjoying the fresh air. Before you know it, Paige pulls you onto the ground with her and the two of you roll down the hill together. It was calming almost, to have such a release, you felt all the stress that has built up these past few weeks from school leave your body as you laugh along with Paige. When you reach the bottom of the hill, you were laying in the grass, inches away from her face.
Paige’s blue eyes looked back into yours, before looking down at your lips and back to your eyes. Your breathing shortens, you’ve never even been this close to a girl before. Yes, you know you’re as gay as it comes but doesn’t mean you have had any experience. You spent all your time either studying or with your best friend, too scared to venture into the world of dating more or less kissing pretty girls you’ve just met. But you give in, give into the space between the two of you and your heart is beating out of your chest as Paige connects her lips with yours. The sky is a deep pink and purple colour as the sun sets, and Paige snakes her arm around your waist, under your shirt. You find it difficult to stop, to remove your lips from hers. She pulls away, leaving a string of saliva connecting your lips together still. She doesn’t stop smiling at you and move, straddling her whilst she is still laying down in the grass and kiss her again. Between kisses, you ask, “this okay?”, and Paige reaches up and holds the side of your face, pulling you as close to her as she can.
Before you know it, Paige is holding your hand and dragging you back into the library, but into the top floor, the farthest set of bookshelves from the door. She pushes you against the bookshelf and begins to kiss your neck. Her hand glides under your shirt, against your stomach and soon finds the clasp of your bra and undoes it easily. Like she’s done it a million of times. Her lips don’t leave your collarbones and Paige lifts your up onto the ledge in front of the window. Your back presses against the glass and your legs wrap around her torso, pulling her close into you. From the smell of her perfume and the taste of her sweet sweet lip gloss, you can’t help but take everything in. Paige undoes her ponytail, letting her hair fall down onto her shoulders and looks down at you. “You haven’t had much to say ma, is this alright with you?”, she asks you, gently. You nod, knowing that whatever is about to happen is what you want. Looking up at her, you bring your hand to the back of her neck and she kisses you with as much desperation as you have. She separates you, only for a moment to replace her lips that were against with yours with two of her fingers.
You suck against them, the two long digits she has in your mouth, looking into her eyes. You can’t help but bring your hand down and rub your clit through your shorts. You moan against her fingers and she uses her free hand to move your hand that’s pleasing yourself and brings you down from the ledge to replace it with her knee. She starts to fuck your throat with her fingers and you are impatiently rubbing yourself against her knee. You close your eyes, to take in all the pleasure you are feeling when Paige whispers into your ear, “I’m going to need you to look at me sweetheart.”, and your eyes meet hers and you almost finish at the sight. She is looking at you like you’re worth risking everything to be caught in the library. She holds your waist with her free hand to stop you and you let out a loud whine and you are quick to cover your mouth. You didn’t even know you could make such noises and you start to feel the anxiety of getting caught. But somehow, it was making you even more needy and you didn’t want to stop. Paige slides her two wet fingers into your shorts, pushing aside your underwear and rubbing your clit gently. You don’t even have time to be embarrassed by how soaked your underwear was. You wrap your arms around the back of her neck and rest your head on her shoulder, moaning quietly as she takes her time to please you. “Paige please…”, is all you can say before she slides both fingers into your drenched cunt.
“You’re such a good slut for me, taking two of my fingers ma…. can you take three?”, she asks, her voice quiet enough for just you to hear. You moan in response, but that’s not good enough for Paige. “Use your words, or I will have to stop.”, she tells you.
“Please, I can take one more just put it in please.”, you say, trying your best to be clear and not make any other lewd sounds.
Paige slides a third finger into you and you rock your hips against her hand that’s place on her knee, so you could feel her fingers go deeper into you. Struggling to keep quiet, you suck on Paiges neck and you feel yourself get closer. You pill your lips away from the blondes neck, not mentioning how deep red the pretty bruise you left on her neck were. “Paige please.”, is all you say before giving her a look. “You can finish whenever you’d like sweetheart.”, she tells you and you move your hips faster as Paige shoves her fingers into you deeper and suddenly your gasping out for air as you cum all over her fingers and knee.
You take a few seconds to catch your breath and Paige sucks on her fingers quietly.
“You taste so good, we are definitely going to have to do this again sometime soon please.”, Paige tells you, and you look up at her and before you know it you’re reaching for her chin and kissing her.
“I’d like that.”, is all you say before standing up. You end up going to the bathroom to clean up the mess you made on Paige’s pants though she insisted she could do it herself.
Maybe this could be more than just a study distraction. Maybe she could be something more.

You stood, motionless, your eyes fixed in disbelief upon the distant scene before you. As the wind cut through the air, a shiver ran down your spine, leaving goosebumps in its wake. The purity of the air surrounded you, carrying with it an intoxicating scent that smelled pure. The warm touch of the sun's rays caressing your skin affirmed that this experience couldn't possibly be a figment of your imagination. A fleeting thought of doubt crept in, but you quickly dismissed it; after all, you had never dabbled in any kind of drugs. This moment, as unbelievable as it seems, had to be undeniably real.
With careful fingers, you gently retrieved your fallen shoe/heel/slipper from the bed of plush, emerald-green grass. As you slipped it back onto your foot, your eyes instinctively wandered upward, transfixed by the expansive stretch of blue sky above you. It was quite unlike the very bright pixelated one you see on your screen. Everything that you see within the door was real and not a nightmare.
____________________________________
After composing yourself, you went inside your cafe, close the door, drag a chair nearest to the door, took a seat on the chair you placed infront of the door, and contemplated life. A deep heavy sigh got out your mouth as you continue looking the the strange thing infront of you. "What now? What do I do? Should I just lock it?" you asked yourself and looked at the door. Welp, well, there goes your master plan. Suprise suprise there's no keyhole and having a key would not make any difference. "Ugh."
You sat up and opened the door again, only to be baffled to see a different scenery other than the distant City of Mondstadt. The door was now currently in the Liyue Harbor. You closed the door and opened it again, you were now in Inazuma. Close, open, and now in Sumeru. Once again, you are now in Fontaine.
"Yeah bye." you closed the door again and returned the chair from where it once was. Contemplating what you should do next, your feet carried you around the whole café. You went to the counter and decided to make yourself something to help with calming yourself first in order to think clearly. It was a good thing that you had brought all of the materials and ingredients you needed in the café because you had thought of opening the café tomorrow. But with how things are now, you don't know what to do.
Teyvat is filled with many dangerous beings such as hilichurls, slimes, etc. You are but a normal human being with no experience in fighting and fighting your baby cousins was not enough of an experience to be able to fight toe to toe with monsters you have only seen through a screen. Yes, a gun would probably best to use but you don't have a permit for that and you don't want to be in jail when you have just barely open your dream café. But nobody had to know, right? What if-
A deep sigh fell from your lips once again. The stress is really getting in to you, huh? The bitter/sweet aroma of (coffee/tea/juice) filled your sense of smell. You were making your favorite, (your choice of coffee/tea/juice). After some time of finishing your drink, you took it along with a (pastry of your choice) that you had in your car, in which you had thought of eating to celebrate the opening, and sat in a chair facing the door. Taking your time in eating/drinking, many thoughts come and go in your head to solve the predicament you are in now. You had even thought of postponing the opening of the café until you had thought of a way on what to do with the door.
Of course you read the fanfics circulating all around the genshin fandom and one of the those that you have read was SAGAU where you might be the imposter or the creator of teyvat or you become a villain or anything in between. The most common of them was being an imposter. What if you were to become the said imposter if one day a person will open the door to your café? What if they kill you? What if-
*creak......*
Your rambling came to a stop as you looked at the door horrified. Oh no no no no no no NO NO NO! YOU JINXED YOURSELF DIDN'T YOU?! THIS DAMNED FATE-
'Oh dear God, Buddha, Allah, Deities, whoever higher being there is, pls help me...' you thought as you clasp your hands, praying to higher beings. Before you could even feel it, tears cascaded down you face to the table. "I'm nOt ReAdy tO dIE yeT... Ughhhhhhhh" you sobbed into your hands loudly like a child lost in a mall.
"Hello?" a person peaked from behind the door.
Fuck.

The Traveler, along with Paimon, was doing their daily quests until they saw something shining in the far distance. Their curiousity made them want to investigate it.
"Hm. Why is a door in the middle of the forest with no support or whatsoever?" Paimon mumbled as the door came into their view. The Traveler also had the same thought.
"Is it perhaps a magic door of some kind? I think w-"
*creak*
The Traveler stopped speaking as the door opened but from where they are right now, they couldn't see who opened the door and couldn't get to ask since the door closed with a loud bang when they were going to get closer.
"Well... that was something..." Paimon looked at the Traveler. "Traveler? What's wrong? BREATHE! YOU'RE GOING TO DIE AT THIS RATE!" Paimon brought tons of fried egg out of the Traveler's bag and smacked it into the Traveler's mouth and forced them to chew the egg.
After confirming the Traveler is back into top condition, Paimon asked them what the hell happened to them.
"I-I don't know. I suddenly felt something when whoever opened that door and the air around me became heavy that it became hard to breathe..." The Traveler shooked their head gently and sighed. "I also felt something strange. The energy of whoever is beyond that door, excluded an aura that is very familiar to me, but I don't know who or what it is."
"Hm. Paimon thinks that we should open that door and see whoever that and see if they truly are familiar to you or maybe perhaps this connection that you feel is related to your sibling!" Paimon twirled around the air, exaggerating her words with her actions.
For once, Traveler thought it was a good idea at first but there is also a flaw in that idea. A flaw that might cause their life if whoever is beyond that door is hostile and will kill them. It is better to be cautious then to be 6ft underground before finding their sibling.

The rain had been threatening to come for days now—thick grey clouds lurking in the sky like a promise, but so far no drops had seemed to fall.
It's easy to get lost looking out the window, as the gunmetal sky gains an amber hue. The dinner you'd cooked had long gone cold—your boyfriend staying late at work again instead of coming home. It's easier now that it's almost a habit, to take your mind off things by staring at the sky, the record player crooning in the background.
You suppose if you took him out of the picture, life wasn't all that bad. The house the two of you shared was nice and homey, your job was mundane and untaxing and exactly what you desired, and your friends were solid.
James was the only sticking point, with his eyes that were never quite blue and his heart that was never quite yours. You suppose you knew deep down, without ever really knowing.
The creak in the floorboards and the sound of a voice pulls you from your thoughts, bringing you back into the room.
"Knock knock." A sonorous voice rings out as a head pops around the door of the living room, before John Price—your boyfriend's father, makes his way inside.
You force yourself to be present, offering an unbridled, warm smile at your guest as you playfully greet him. "Captain."
"Darling girl." He replies, your smile mirrored on his face. He sets down a box of beers on the table and starts to take off his jacket. "Tried texting you to let you know I was headed over, saw the light on, and the door was unlocked." He explains, as if he hadn't made his own way inside before.
It never bothered you, your place feeling more like home to John than his own little house on the other side of town.
You rise to your feet, heading through to the kitchen on instinct—he brought beers, which means you'll grab the bottle opener for him before he even needs to ask. "Sorry, John, I kind of zoned out for a good while there."
His footsteps are heavy as he follows you through, with an easy swagger to his steps as he brings through the beers to put in the fridge. "You should lock it even when you're in." Authority laces his tone, as he directs his paternal instincts at you.
"Yeah, I know." You laugh, nodding along, as you're so used to the way John can't help but look out for you at every opportunity. You move on autopilot, taking the box from him and setting the beers in the fridge before taking one, uncapping it, and handing it back to him.
His gaze follows your every movement, observing you as his thoughts tick over with every passing second. "Everything okay?" He asks, seeing right through you, as he always seems capable of. The concern that's clear in his voice almost makes you flinch—you get so unused to being cared for when he's not around.
You force a tight-lipped smile onto your face as you force yourself to whisper some excuse, even if it isn't too far from the truth. "Tired, it's been a long week."
John's brows furrow momentarily, and the slightest frown plays at his lips, which you know from experience means he doesn't believe you, but he won't push it for now.
He wraps his hand around the neck of the beer, taking a deep gulp before wiping his beard with the back of his hand. "Where's James? The two of you should be cuddled up on the couch, unwinding."
"Still at work." You shrug, turning away from John to try and find something to busy yourself with—currently, wiping down the counters and loading the dishwasher.
"Guess I'll keep you company then." John chuckles, his voice soft. Despite only being here for mere moments, his quiet presence is already starting to lift your mood.
You turn to him, naturally falling into a more playful spirit as you lean over the kitchen island, pausing for a moment. "Hopefully my company won't be too much of a disappointment then."
"I don't think that's possible, love." He answers without missing a beat, his eyes serious even if the smirk on his face isn't.
John always knows how to make you feel better—you couldn't have asked for a better support system when it comes to your life with James. His mother is lovely, endlessly self-sacrificing, and sweet, but now more focused on her growing children than her adult son—especially since James never seems to appreciate her as much as he should.
She raised James without John by choice—rightly or wrongly deciding not to tell anyone who the father of her teen pregnancy was. John was leaving for the army and wanted a different life for himself than the one she and a baby could offer, so she kept the burden to herself and let him go. That's how she told it, that's how it seemed to be when James showed up at John's door over two decades later and confirmed his father had no idea he existed.
The two have been making awkward attempts to make up for lost time in the years since, with you and your unfolding relationship witness to the whole thing. James had gained another father, you had gained... a friend?
"You say that now." You wink, knowing full well that you've found ways to exhaust and annoy John Price before.
He takes another sip of his beer, longer and slower this time, as if savouring the taste. "Getting as much of you as I can before I ship out on Monday." He admits.
Your heart sinks just a little. Even though it's been years of John disappearing to god knows where, it never seems to stop causing you to worry. How would James deal with it if he never came back? How would you?
Like so many other things in your life with John, you've become practiced in the way you are around each other. Despite having a million questions, you know he can answer none of them, so each time he gets dragged off to someplace unknown, you find a silly way to get something out of him.
Last time, you asked if the nation's flag had a star in it, and it did. You could almost imagine him in a different country every day that he was away, until he came back to you both.
Today, you fell back on an old favorite. "Flip-flops or snowsuit?" You ask with a giggle.
"Ha, flip-flops." He answers quickly, confirming that wherever he's headed, it's hot weather, he drinks some more as if to silence the rest of the words on the tip of his tongue.
You know by now that John prefers the cold.
"Hopefully I'll be able to catch the kid before I go." He adds, referencing James—he always tries his best to say goodbye to you both before he goes, now he has a reason to come home.
You grit your teeth at the mention of your boyfriend, knowing you won't see much of him this weekend either.  "Sunday is your best bet, he'll be hungover after the stag do he's going to tomorrow." The one he only told you about two days ago.
"Those were the days, eh." John smirks, tilting his head as if to recall a memory. As an army man, you can only imagine the shit he's gotten into with his squads, the places around the world he's gotten drunk out of his mind and done god knows what. He has so many years on James, so many stories you'd love to hear.
"Too busy playing lawn bowls with your comrades now?" You can't help but tease him as you always do, the two of you falling into your back and forth with a familiar ease.
He tuts, sending you a playful glare that forces you to ignore the way it makes you feel. "Less your lip, young lady."
You have to ignore the way that makes you feel too— fuck, you're lonely, and you need James to just fuck you already.
"Absolutely, old man." You snap back, never able to resist the urge to tease him for his age. He's only in his early 40s, hardly an old man at all, but you still love to wind him up about it.
"You're the one listening to Otis Redding." He huffs, raising a brow as if to suggest you don't have any room to mock him with your own habits.
You suppose you do listen to golden oldies, knit for fun, and prefer nights in rather than nights out.
"You're the one who bought it for me." You counter, as John had bought the vinyl for you, along with many others. If anything, he was transforming your music taste into his, one album at a time.
"That I did." He chuckles, before finishing his beer with one final swig. You're setting a fresh one down in front of him before he can even ask. "You won't drink with me?"
Perhaps he feels left out drinking alone.
You wrinkle your nose, catching a whiff of hops that makes your stomach churn. "Even you can't convince me to drink that swill, I'll grab something, though." You concede that at least, turning to reach the shelf up high to where you keep your liquor.
John is offering his bottle up as soon as the clear liquid is poured into your glass. "Cheers, love."
Your glasses clink as your eyes connect, a soft, sincere moment passing between the two of you that makes your heart beat a little faster. You were awfully fond of the older man. "To your safe return."
"I'll drink to that." He toasts, before downing half of the beer in one go. "You still owe me the dinner that you promised me last time, I'm coming back to collect."
"I actually have some I can reheat, it was for James, but since he's staying late..." You offer, your sentence trailing as you battle to keep your thoughts on the man in the room with you, rather than the one who isn't.
"Can't let your lovely cooking go to waste now, can we?" He grins, deeply pleased to be getting one of your meals.
You turn to the oven, pulling out the two plates that are still warm, food piled high on top of them. "Glad it's appreciated."
John pauses, his eyes trying to meet yours, yet you continue to avert your gaze, focusing on grabbing cutlery for you both. You said too much.
"You don't feel appreciated?" He asks, voice softer—concerned all over again.
As you sit down beside him, setting the two plates down, you struggle to meet his eye as your feelings swirl and conflict inside you. If anyone offered the perfect understanding ear, it would be John, and under any other circumstance, you'd happily tell him all about what ails you. "I don't... think it's appropriate to talk to you about my relationship troubles."
His posture stiffens, his voice hardens, and his food is temporarily forgotten as his protective instincts kick in. "But there are troubles?"
Now, you find the strength within you as you force a laugh from your throat and a spark into your eyes. "Oh no, I meant hypothetically." You joke, hoping he takes the bait.
Instead, a hand reaches out to settle on yours, warm and firm and reassuring—ebbing away at your propriety. "Love, you're a terrible liar." He whispers, yet unable to keep the smallest of smiles from tugging at the corner of his lips.
"Or you're just used to reading people for a living." You counter—after all, you tell James you're fine all the time, and he's never suspected any different.
"That too." John laughs, as he pats your hand and begins to rub circles over the back of your smaller hand with his calloused thumb. "You have to talk to someone."
There's that commanding, authoritative, caring voice again—the one that makes you relent every time he uses it on you.
"I will, just... not my boyfriend's dad." You whisper meekly, guilt stabbing through you as the words leave you.
He nods understandingly, patting one more before he pulls his hand away, and goes to twirl pasta around his fork. "Why? I might be his father but a blind man could see the way he takes you for granted."
Hearing the words out loud, verbalised by someone else—verbalised by John of all people, feels like a stab wound to the chest. You'd felt it for so long, assured yourself that you were just going crazy, ignoring the way James cares for you, assuring yourself that nothing was amiss. But John sees it too, sees it in his own son.
"Well, I don't think men who wouldn't take me for granted actually exist." You laugh bitterly, stabbing at your own plate of food before swallowing a bite—you're sure it would've tasted nicer when it was actually fresh.
John's jaw clenches, a hint of frustration passing through him as he watches you, hurting and hiding it all away. "Then you're dating the wrong men, darling. We exist."
You take a deep breath as you try to let go of the ugly feelings within you. Men like John do exist, good men, caring men.
"And yet you deprive women of your company, how cruel." Your eyes roll back sarcastically as the grin breaks out onto your face.
Any woman would be lucky to have John, but for as long as you've known him, he's kept himself to himself. Now he preaches his own virtues like you have something to look forward to, and yet men like him always seem to be out of reach.
"I'm a busy man." He shrugs, taking a bite of his food before rushing down another as gentlemanly as he can.
"And yet here you are."
He nudges you with his knee, flashing you a smile. "Spending time with my favourite girl."
It takes everything within you to remain calm and remind yourself that he doesn't see you like that. You're just his son's girlfriend, that he happens to get along with, very well.
You giggle anyway, shaking your head at the ridiculousness of his statement. "Ah, waiting for the main event."
John sets his fork down with a clatter, his attention now fully on you. "Love?"
"Yeah?" You swallow, wondering just how he's going to chastise you for your self-deprecation. If you had a pound for every time he's told you to be kinder to yourself, or gently corrected you when you make jokes at your own expense, you could probably afford to pay for the therapy you clearly desperately need.
"I didn't just come to see James." He admits, the words a quiet confession.
He's right—the two of you have become fast friends ever since your introduction, and find nothing uncomfortable in each other's company as you wait for James to come around.
You nudge his knee back, making your chair spin more than his. "You came for Otis and some lovely pasta."
"And good company, couldn't ask for a better way to spend my evening."
Your stomach flips at his words. You know he isn't flirting, but you'd be lying if you said his constant compliments didn't make you feel better than you had in ages.
Maybe you should tell him about things with you and James, maybe he would have some good insight. After all, he must have a wealth of relationship experience under his belt.
"John..." You start hesitantly.
"Bunny?" He asks, the intensity of his blue eyes firmly fixed on you—the nickname he reserved when he was feeling especially fond.
The front door all but crashes open, and a frustrated growl rings out from the hallway as keys are thrown down and shoes are kicked at the shoe rack. "Fuck, I need a drink."
James appears in the kitchen just a few seconds later, practically ripping his hair out the roots as he snarls to himself. His expression softens when he lays eyes on you and his father.
"Hi." You greet him, feeling rather apathetic at his late appearance.
"Hey babe. John." He nods, giving his father a manly slap to the back before he gets to work on tugging his tie.
"Alright son." John greets, lips quirking into a smile at his son's appearance.
James steps forward to press a kiss to the top of your head, which you receive with a forced smile and no affection of your own. Both of you are blind to the frown that flashes onto John's face.
As James pulls away, he rips his tie from his neck, bundling it up before throwing it at the hamper and turning away.  "I'm heading straight for a shower, I'll be back down soon." He calls out, disappearing up the stairs two at a time.
"Yeah, see you soon." John offers, a hint of frustration to his voice—he's never been all that fond of his son's manners, as he's mentioned on numerous occasions.
The mood feels a little stifled now, as both you and John eat your meal with an uneasy silence hanging over you. You hear doors slam upstairs as James makes his way around the house, likely leaving a mess behind that you'll have to clean.
You knew why you felt worse at this moment, your opportunity to talk to someone snatched from you by his untimely appearance. He's always late home, couldn't he have been a little later?
What puzzled you was John's shift in demeanour—it didn't sit right with you. Perhaps he felt ignored by his only son, the one he'd been waiting for this entire time. It's funny, you supposed, the way you both find solace in each other over the similar treatment you get from the younger man.
"Everything okay? You've gone quiet." You ask John, it being your turn now to play the concerned friend.
You know him well enough too to know his smile right now is forced—you don't need to be a trained SAS operator to notice the way his smile doesn't quite reach his eyes. "Fine, love, just thinking."
John was a man who could probably stand to think a little less, especially when he's at home. It's one responsibility you found yourself picking up all this time, as you tried to make his days away from war lighter.
You nudge him again, practically trying to force the playfulness into him with the push of your knee. "Well, we can't have that, can we? I hear it's dangerous."
He barks a laugh, pulled out of his glum mood, and back into the room with you. "You never fail to make me laugh, darling."
"Might be my proudest accomplishment." You giggle, feeling oh so pleased with yourself. "What would your soldiers think if they knew the fearsome Captain Price had such an atrociously bad sense of humour?"
He rolls his eyes, but that bright smile that splits his handsome face doesn't waver. "Eh, not sure if it's atrocious, most of the lads' jokes make me groan."
You roll your eyes at that comment. "Most things make you groan."
"You don't."
"Not for lack of trying."
There's a solid second of silence before you realise the heavy yet accidental innuendo in your comment. You feel your face burst into flames, mortification taking over you as you meet John's shocked expression. "I mean—"
"I know what you meant, love." His laugh warms you as he seems to take the whole thing in stride. "That blush is quite something, though."
You throw yourself into your curled-up arms, hiding away as you're unable to look John in the eye any longer. He's your boyfriend's dad, almost twice your age, and you're making jokes about him groaning. It's a tough battle to force the thoughts out of your head lest you blush any harder. "I'm gonna go stick my head in the oven."
"And ruin your pretty face?"
"You're making it worse." You whine, pushing yourself further into the safe cocoon of your arms.
"I'll stop." John laughs, hand coming to settle on your back as he soothes you. "But it's nice to have cheered you up."
"I suppose..." You sigh, feeling overwhelmed with emotion. Your blush abates as the two of you continue to eat until your plates are clean.
"All done?" You ask, gesturing to where John is setting down his cutlery atop the plate.
"It was perfect. Thanks, love." He says sincerely, a hand resting on his stomach as if to add to the sincerity of the gesture.
"Anytime." You smile, taking the plates and heading over to the dishwasher. "If I'd have known you were coming, I'd have gotten dessert."
John knows you wish you would've had more notice—even if he's had to tell you many times that you don't need to clean the house and cook a three-course meal every time he happens to pop over. "Only got the marching orders this afternoon." He shrugs as if to absolve himself of any responsibility.
"Do you know how long you'll be gone?" You ask, voice quieter as you return to his side.
"A month, probably not too much longer."
A month was fairly typical. "Well, make sure you come home to us."
Come home to me, you think selfishly.
"Always, darlin'." His eyes burn with a promise, and a sense of joy at hearing those words. "Someone's gotta keep that old soul of yours company." He winks.
"So, I'll get initiated into the bowls team soon?" You wink back.
John finishes off his beer before laughing once more, the sound filling you with warmth. "Maybe you can be my pool partner."
"I can't play pool for shit, John." You whine, remembering the last time you tried to play pool and ended up injuring yourself, as well as sending balls flying all over the pub.
"Guess you're due a lesson then."
Once more, you're interrupted at the most inopportune time.
"Keeping the old man company for me?" James asks, meeting your gaze over his father's shoulder as he rubs a towel at his dripping hair.
"Somebody has to." John teases, more poking fun at himself than at anyone else, and the two of you share a laugh.
You begin to mourn the light moments you've had, as the atmosphere shifts once more at James' arrival, and you feel yourself growing tense and unsettled. You watch in silence as James looks around for the bottle opener, and you make no effort to help or tend to him.
It's John who breaks the awkward silence. "I won't stay too much longer, leave you two to enjoy your night."
You stand, the stool scraping back loudly against the floor as you do, making your hair stand on end. "Uh, actually, I think I'm gonna sleep. You should enjoy some father-son time." The smile on your face is polite and perfunctory.
"Goodnight love." John smiles, soft and genuine, as he watches you walk away.
James speaks up too, but the words barely register. "Night babe."
As you reach the threshold of the kitchen, you turn back once more—John's eyes are still on you.
"Stay safe, John."
"Yes ma'am." He nods, holding your gaze until you disappear up the stairs.
You try not to think of the look in his eyes when you fall asleep that night.
————
Time seems to go differently when John is deployed. Despite not being anything more than your boyfriend's father, you're still always filled with worry waiting to hear from him. Outside his military family, you and James were the ones waiting for him to come home with bated breath, and with John's disastrous love life, you found yourself the only woman waiting to welcome him back to civilian life.
As you stare at your inbox, waiting for anything to come through, you find your thoughts drifting easily to other things in life—to John.
You're his friend, if you can even call yourself that—but you miss him when he's gone. Back on English soil, he's visiting you and James pretty frequently, coming over for dinner or helping around the house—since James is useless with a drill.
Things are different when he's gone, though sometimes you feel like you're the only one who thinks that.
Your boyfriend doesn't worry like you do, despite being closer to the man, though James has never been the most emotional of guys to begin with.
Despite work keeping you busy, and friends inviting you out for drinks, you often find yourself waiting for a text, or anything from John—just to know he is safe.
Your phone chimes one Monday afternoon, interrupting your monotonous work day with something different. The timing makes your heart soar, as it must be from John letting you know he's back in Hereford—the notification you see instead is the end of everything as you know it.
A message request from an anonymous account: "I'm sorry for you to find out like this, but I couldn't keep the secret any longer."
Attached to the message is a series of pictures, and a video from a bar, of James entangled with another woman in a way that couldn't be mistaken for anything else. You recognised the tie, the one he'd worn for the first time only a month ago—the one he'd thrown in the laundry before rushing off to shower.
The nausea overwhelms you in an instant, sending you rushing for the bin beside your desk as the content of your stomach leaves you in harsh retches.
Everything that happens after is a blur, as your co-workers rush to your aid—your closest work friend seeing the messages on your phone as she pulls you to the bathroom, cleans you up, and makes sure you get home safe and sound.
She doesn't want to leave you alone, but you know that company right now will only make the whole thing worse. You wander around the house in a haze, tending to your chores like nothing has changed, and your world hasn't been turned upside down.
That deep, unsettled feeling you've been getting as of late? It all makes sense now—why you never truly felt at ease around the man who was supposed to love you. And yet, a part of you felt relieved. Relieved that you weren't crazy, relieved that you weren't to blame for the way things had changed lately, relieved that you finally had the chance to walk away.
You haven't stopped thinking about the text all day—wondering how the fuck you're going to confront James and not rip his head clean off of his body, how you're going to end your years-long relationship and upend because your boyfriend couldn't keep his dick to himself.
The clock on the wall ticks away, counting down the moments until he comes home from work, late as always. At least now you know why.
Your phone chimed again a while ago, probably whatever excuse he had cooked up—you hadn't even bothered picking the damn thing up to check the notification.
A knock at the door pulls you out of it all, as you move on autopilot to go answer.
Did he forget his keys? Or has he gotten himself drunk to the point he can't put them in the door anymore?
On the other side of the door isn't James, isn't your cheating, good-for-nothing boyfriend but John.
His beard untrimmed and eyes dull—the scent of cigars rolling off of him in waves. "Hello, darling girl." He says his usual, as a smile tugs at his cheeks.
"Hi." You offer in return, your voice almost completely motionless. Time seems to slow as you stare at the man before you—usually, you'd greet him with a quick hug and a bright grin, so pleased to see him safe and on your doorstep. Yet, the day's events have stolen that joy from you.
John picks up on your mood almost immediately, head tilting in concern as his eyes roam over you. "Bad time?"
"No." You shake your head as you step aside. "Come in."
John scrapes his boots against the doormat before he takes them off, along with his jacket.
"Tea." You whisper, snapping into action as you turn and head to the kitchen. You almost always make tea when he comes over—you don't even have to ask anymore.
"Thanks, love." His voice rings out after you.
Focusing on making the tea helps calm you somewhat, and you pull out two mugs to make a cup for yourself too.
How were you going to tell John? The news would ruin him. How are you going to tell John that you'll be leaving his son's life, and therefore his?
Your heart falls deeper into a pit of misery at that thought alone—the loss overwhelming you.
"James home?"
"Still at work." You whisper, not trusting yourself to speak properly without the bitterness unfurling and the truth spilling out.
John scoffs from behind you, but you know he isn't really all that bothered. "Oh, right. No heroes welcome from my lovely son then." His sarcastic words are graveled.
"Saves you from all his silly questions, I suppose." You shrug, still not turning to look John in the eye. "Though you put up with mine, so."
"Yours don't ask me to break the law." He huffs, short and sharp, before he perks up again. "Didn't actually get to bust out the flip-flops this time, though." He offers, a hint at your last conversation. The weather was milder than he expected then, you suppose he was rather pleased about that.
You let the silence settle over the two of you as you continue to make your drinks, focusing on the way the unfurls from the bag and changes the hue of the boiling water. Next is the milk, semi-skimmed because James doesn't like full fat—at least that's something that'll change for the better once you leave.
The thought makes you freeze.
"Love, what's the matter?" John's smokey voice is soft and sweet and coming closer—laced with concern.
Your chest tightens, impending doom feeling like it's right over your shoulder—everything is going to fall apart in 3. 2. 1.
The milk bottle falls free from your hands, crashing to the floor with a wet splash—the cold milk is easily ignored as a hand comes to rest at your back, pulling you away from the edge of the abyss of your pain.
"Talk to me, what's going on?" His voice is more insistent this time, but still just as concerned. He ignores the pool at both of your feet in favour of consoling you. His features are knitted together in a terrifying amount of worry that makes you crack completely.
"John." You whisper shakily, finally meeting his eyes.
His baby blues are filled to the brim with care for you, with concern and confusion and a million unanswered questions. "Yes, darling?"
"He's cheating on me."
There's a beat before John explodes. It's not the bombastic, showy anger where things get screamed—he's quiet and seething and eerie, his words spat through gritted teeth. "He's fucking what?"
Your whole body begins to shake as the truth tumbles free, solidifying itself as reality now it's spoken aloud. "He's cheating on me with one of his coworkers, Lucy."
Not that it mattered whether it was Lucy or Georgia or some girl from the club or whatever.
John stiffens—his shoulders squaring up, his jaw clenching and his body tightening like he's going to war. You've never seen John Price the soldier, but you imagine it's something like this "When's he due home?"
"I don't know." You answer honestly. You don't know, and you don't particularly care. At least you'll never have to wait for him to come home ever again.
"I'm gonna ring him—" John snarls, shoving his hand into the worn pocket of his jeans as he grabs his phone.
"Don't." Your hand shoots out to still his wrist, though you know the effort would be futile if he truly chose to ignore him. "Please."
"If only I'd have fucking raised him." John seethes before launching into action, he moves around you to grab the kitchen towel, ripping off piece after piece as it soaks up the spill. He throws the half-empty bottle into the sink, as milky white sprays up the backsplash.
"It's okay." You whisper, genuinely feeling that in a sense, it is. You've been betrayed, but at least now you'll be free.
"It's not okay." John moves to stand before you again, his arms braced on your shoulders as he looks down upon you, craning a little to get closer to your height. "Love, you're perfect, you're too lovely for him, how could he hurt you?"
"How could anyone hurt something so precious?"
"Not precious enough, clearly." You scoff, wondering where it all went wrong. Right now you felt the furthest thing from precious, from loveable and perfect and everything else John said. Fuck, you feel like you're turning him against James. "Sorry, I feel like I shouldn't be talking to you about this—"
"I'm on your side, yeah?" He interrupts you with good reason before your thoughts can spiral any further. His grip tightens a fraction as his thumbs move, slowly and reassuringly, across the bare skin of your shoulders. "He's my son, but he's a fucking bastard for this. You deserve better, love."
The sweetness in his voice makes you snap. Why wouldn't you have a man like John? So caring and kind and knowledgeable—older and experienced and so out of your reach.
"I don't—" The tears start to flow freely, as you desperately search John's eyes for answers.
"Shh, come here, I've got you." He pulls you in close, his arms wrapping around you in a warm, secure embrace. His smell surrounds you, the soothingly familiar smoke coating your skin. Lips press against your forehead delicately, as he holds you like he's holding every piece of you together, bit by bit. His body is like his presence—solid, unwavering, ever-present.
"I've got you, everything's going to be okay." He whispers, over and over and over again, chanting it like a prayer.
In his embrace, firm and reassuring, you might actually believe him.

amaretto mirage
pairing: [modern]gn! reader x hantengu clones (sekido, karaku, aizetsu, urogi) wc: 10k+ rating: mature (for this part) a/n: the PLAN is two, maybe three parts. then possibly some accompanying drabbles if i haven't burned myself out
[also available to read on ao3] synopsis: you, a simple student, finds yourself caught in a sensual game between a quadruplet of brothers, leading you down a path of self-discovery and forbidden desires.
Tumblr media
"oh, aizetsu, wait for me please," you call out as you hurry to catch up to your friend. the sun beats down relentlessly, casting harsh shadows across the pavement, and the air is thick with the scent of exhaust and the sound of honking cars. you can feel beads of sweat trickling down your back, and the weight of your backpack seems to increase with every step.
as you draw closer to aizetsu, you take a moment to study him. his tall, lean frame is relaxed and unhurried, and his sky-blue eyes twinkle with a serene kind of patience that you find both calming and exhilarating. you can't help but wonder how he manages to maintain such an air of composure in the midst of the chaos that surrounds you.
with a sigh, you turn your attention back to your own worries. the never-welcomed midterm finals loom ahead, and you feel a familiar sense of panic rising within you. despite being in your fourth and final year, you still feel woefully unprepared. your scattered notes are a testament to your haphazard studying habits, and you know you'll pay for it later with a headache.
as you walk alongside aizetsu, you reflect on the years of hard work and dedication that have brought you to this point. you've managed to maintain decent enough grades, but deep down, you know that the credit isn't fully yours. in recent months, you owed a large portion to the man beside you.
you first met aizetsu during your sophomore year, but looking back on your freshman year, you couldn't recall his face as easily. his presence had been shrouded by what you knew of his brother, urogi, the school's star basketball player.
it wasn't until someone mentioned the relation between the two that aizetsu finally showed up on your radar. but that's really where the likeness ended. it was true that physically they shared the same complexion and hair, but their eyes and personalities couldn't be more different.
you remember marveling at the biological mystery of how one brother could have eyes that mimicked the sun while the other had a pair that mirrored the ocean. it made mountains more sense than the floating superstitions of demonic energy that your classmates liked to loft around. and apparently, aizetsu had two other brothers who also had differing eye colors. they were all quadruplets.
so yeah, given that anomaly, you were okay with blaming biology. but what you knew of urogi was that he was boisterous and confident, a fitting temperament to balance out his presence on the court. aizetsu, on the other hand, was best described as the opposite, which would be quite fitting if they were only twins. he was not rude per se, but decidedly introverted, keeping to himself and maintaining a low tone. most noticeably, where urogi was always boasting a bright smile, aizetsu was more solemn.
"sorry, you said you didn't have anything planned after this, right? i won't hold you up, but i wanted to get you something for your help," you say, breaking the comfortable silence.
aizetsu's face remained inscrutable, his blue eyes calculating as he spoke. "we share similar classes. it is an equal exchange."
your heart fluttered in your chest at the sound of his voice. he was always so patient with you, despite the vast gap in your intellect. aizetsu was undoubtedly a genius, while you had to work tirelessly to keep up with the coursework. you knew he could manage on his own, but he chose to help you anyway.
gratitude and admiration swelled within you, only further cementing your desire to show him your appreciation. you weren't sure why he chose to befriend you, but you treasured his company nonetheless.
"it's nothing big," you said, attempting to downplay your intentions. your meager budget didn't afford much extravagance. "we can go to the cafe on campus. we don't have to sit down or anything. just grab something on the way."
your heart raced as you offered, hoping that he wouldn't see through your poorly veiled attempt to treat him. you couldn't help but feel nervous at the prospect of him rejecting your gesture or worse yet, interpreting it as something more than just gratitude.
aizetsu's gaze bore into you, and you held your breath in anticipation.
"alright, if you insist," he finally acquiesced.
relief washed over you as you smiled gratefully, thanking him for accepting your offer. you couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement in your chest at the thought of spending more time with him. but you pushed those feelings aside, not wanting to ruin the delicate balance of your friendship
⚘. ⚘. ⚘.
as aizetsu made the decision to sit down and order rather than grab and go, you felt a wave of nervous energy course through your body. you tried to remain composed, reminding yourself that this wasn't a date but merely a gesture of gratitude. you were pleasantly surprised that he had even agreed to come in the first place.
despite having known each other for months, you still struggled to describe your relationship with aizetsu. you were more than acquaintances, but not quite friends. your interactions were confined to the classroom and the library, but the countless hours spent studying together had brought you closer than you thought possible.
as you sat across from aizetsu, you couldn't help but fidget in your seat. the atmosphere was charged with a sense of anticipation, as if this small outing held more significance than either of you let on. you desperately hoped that this would be a step towards building a stronger friendship, one that could survive beyond graduation.
the cafe was cozy, with warm yellow lighting casting a soft glow over the wooden tables and chairs. the faint aroma of fresh coffee and baked goods wafted through the air, mingling with the chatter of other patrons. you couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort in this space, as if it were a sanctuary away from the stresses of academia.
as aizetsu ordered his drink, his eyes flicked over to you briefly before returning to the menu. you felt a flutter in your chest at the brief moment of eye contact, wondering if he was feeling the same sense of anticipation as you were.
as aizetsu's attention snaps back to you, you catch a glimpse of a camera flash and the click of a shutter from the corner of your eye. you shake your head, dismissing it as a trick of the light or your imagination. you turn your focus back to the conversation, discussing your tentative plans for the final semester and how you hope to broaden your knowledge in your major. aizetsu listens attentively, nodding and interjecting his own insights with ease.
suddenly, the serene ambiance of the cafe is shattered as a new figure emerges. when you look up, you find another version of aizetsu standing over the table. without even meeting him, you know this must be urogi, aizetsu's brother. his boisterous presence immediately fills the room, causing heads to turn and eyes to follow him. his eyes lock onto you, roving over you with unabashed interest before he snorts and pulls out a chair, sitting down uninvited.
aizetsu's brow furrows,"now is not the time, urogi. go away."
urogi simply crosses his arms, grinning as he refuses to budge. "nah, this is too good," he retorts, his eyes sparkling with mischief. the air around you suddenly becomes charged with a mix of curiosity and tension.
suddenly there is another click and flash, but this time much closer as urogi snaps a photo of your face. as the flash of the camera dies down, you can feel the heat rising to your cheeks. you wonder if urogi's laughter is directed towards you, or if he's simply amused by his own antics. you force a smile, trying to play it cool, but it's clear that he's rattled you.
he sees your expression and laughs, “don’t worry, i’m not doing anything weird with it. just sending it to my brothers. it's not often little aizetsu goes out on a date.”
aizetsu's reply is sharp,"urogi that's rude. you can't just do what you want like that." the other brother only shrugs and by the time he sets down his phone the damage is done.
the atmosphere of the cafe suddenly feels oppressive, as if the walls are closing in on you. you're acutely aware of the other customers, their eyes darting towards your table before quickly averting their gaze. the low hum of conversation seems to have evaporated, leaving only the sound of your own heartbeat pounding in your ears.
despite your discomfort, you can't help but also feel sorry for aizetsu. you never expect and act of gratitude would draw this much attention.
“it’s not a date, i just wanted to thank him for his help this semester."
urogi seems disinterested in your explanation as he taps against his phone. “yeah, aizetsu isn’t going to let just anyone sit him down for a meal.” he says it so absently but with a tone of finality that furrows your brow.
you don't want aizetsu to get the wrong idea, or for anyone else to think that you're trying to pursue something more than friendship. but urogi seems uninterested in your explanation, preoccupied with his phone.
the firmnesss in his tone when he speaks of aizetsu only makes you more curious about the reserved genius. as the tension thickens between the brothers, you feel like an outsider looking in.
the atmosphere in the cafe shifts, the ambient noise fading into the background as the two siblings stare each other down. aizetsu's eyes are narrowed with determination, and you can sense that he's not going to back down. his brother, on the other hand, looks almost amused as he crosses his arms over his chest, tapping his foot impatiently.
you can feel the weight of the moment pressing down on you, unsure of how to proceed. you glance between the two of them, searching for a way to ease the tension. aizetsu's voice breaks the silence, clear and firm. "they're not a crush, urogi. they're a friend. this was meant to be a treat for our study efforts, and you're ruining it."
urogi's eyebrows shoot up in surprise, his grin faltering slightly. "oh? just a friend?" he says, sounding almost disappointed. "well, that's a shame. i was hoping for some juicy gossip to share with the team."
you can feel a blush creeping up your cheeks at the implication, and you wonder how aizetsu is taking all of this. he seems unperturbed, however, his expression remaining resolute. "you're not getting anything, urogi. ."
there's a moment of tense silence before urogi finally relents, settling back into his chair with a sigh. "fine, fine. i'll behave. but you owe me one, little brother."
the tension in the air begins to dissipate, and you let out a breath you didn't even realize you were holding. the cafe noise returns to the foreground, and you take a sip of your drink to calm your nerves. you can't help but wonder how many other hidden tensions are lurking beneath the surface of aizetsu's life.
as the silence drags on, you begin to feel restless. you shift in your seat, trying to find a way to diffuse the tension. your eyes dart back and forth between the two brothers, unsure of what to say. finally, you clear your throat, hoping to break the stalemate.
"aizetsu doesn't get the chance to talk about his family often. i distract him too much with my countless questions on material," you say, hoping to shift the conversation to a more positive note.
your laugh however, cuts off uneasily as those golden eyes settle on you. a tug of something you cant describe pulls at his lips,”a distraction, i’m sure.” he studies you a moment longer, before reaching for the discarded menu. “well, let’s hear all about the person who has kept our brother occupied.”
aizetsu's focused gaze doesn't leave his brother, but you can sense the odd taste at the mention of his family. despite spending countless hours studying with him, you know little about his personal life. you wonder what secrets he keeps hidden behind those deep, contemplative eyes.
your attempt at lightening the mood with a joke falls flat, and you can feel the weight of the awkward silence settle over the table. your gaze falls to the table, the scratched surface now a blur beneath your fingertips as you twist them together nervously.
aizetsu's sudden attention startles you, and you raise your head to meet his gaze. the way his lips tug at the corners sends an unfamiliar jolt of something through you, but you can't put a name to it. his intense stare feels like a physical touch, sending shivers down your spine.
as he picks up his cup, you realize you've been staring too long. quickly, you avert your gaze, taking refuge in your own drink as if it can provide a shield from his penetrating gaze. aizetsu's calm tone breaks the silence, drawing your attention back to the conversation.
“given you don’t take your studies seriously, i’m not left with many options, urogi.”
urogi hums,”true. but that’s never stopped you before.”
your mind races to come up with a suitable response, but you find yourself at a loss for words. you clear your throat, hoping to regain some composure. "well, there's not much to tell. we're just friends, after all." the words sound weak even to your own ears, but they're the only ones that come to mind.
urogi snorts, leaning back in his chair. "just friends, huh? you're blushing like a bride, you know." his words are teasing, but you can feel the heat rising to your cheeks.
the intended outing for two has evolved into something you're not entirely sure how to describe. eventually, your waiter returns to take urogi’s order, not hiding their surprise well. but urogi is more attentive to you as he quizzes you on your hometown, studies, and interests.
"so, where are you from originally?" urogi asks, leaning forward in his seat.
"i'm from a small town south of here," you reply, feeling a little uneasy under his intense gaze.
"a small town, huh? what made you want to come to this big city for school?"
"i wanted to experience something new and different," you say with a shrug.
"i can respect that," urogi says with a nod. "what's your major?"
you share without pause.
"sounds cool. what kind of career are you hoping to have with that degree?" urogi asks, leaning back in his seat.
"i'm not really sure yet. i'm still exploring my options," you say with a smile.
meanwhile, aizetsu watches the two of you with a furrowed brow, clearly not thrilled with his brother's line of questioning. finally, he speaks up.
"urogi, can you stop talking so much for once? we came here to relax," he says pointedly.
urogi rolls his eyes but acquiesces. "fine, fine. but i have to ask. how about basketball? you're a big fan of the games right?"
aizetsu signs, but you can feel the mood finally settling to a comfortable point that you can lean into.
and so the conversation shifts to a more neutral topic, and you're able to relax a bit and enjoy your coffee that has run lukewarm now. but in the back of your mind, you can't help but wonder what urogi's true intentions are and why he's so interested in you.
as the bizzare occassion winds down, you can't help but feel a sense of surreality as the situation has evolved into something you never imagined. you would have never expected approaching the kid in the back of the lecture room would lead to this.
“i should get going, my shift starts soon.”
urogi whistles,” a worker and a student. busy, busy.”
as you reach for the check, your hand is halted by urogi's quick reflexes. he snatches it away with a playful grin, teasing his brother, "aizetsu, making our them pay? that's not very hospitable of you."
aizetsu simply shrugs, his expression unreadable. "i didn't want to insist and make them feel uncomfortable. they wanted to treat me, after all."
urogi's playful demeanor dissipates, and he studies his brother for a moment before suddenly slamming his own card on the table. "consider it my treat, then. you can owe me one, aizetsu."
the gesture catches you off guard, and you feel a flush rise to your cheeks. you're not used to this kind of generosity, and it makes you feel both grateful and uneasy at the same time.
as the waiter takes the bill and disappears, you let out a small sigh of relief. the cafe, though delicious, has been a rollercoaster of emotions. urogi, the more talkative of the two, had bombarded you with questions, leaving you feeling dizzy and unsteady. aizetsu, on the other hand, had remained quiet for the most part, his blue eyes observing your every move.
as urogi scribbles a generous tip onto the bill and rises to his feet, you can't help but feel a little relieved that the intense scrutiny is over. he chats easily as he turns to his brother, his voice ringing with a certain cheerfulness that makes you wonder what kind of relationship they have.
"it was nice to meet you. i'm sure we'll be seeing each other again." urogi waves his phone in the air, the light catching the screen and casting a blue glow across his face. "sekido wants to see us. i staved him off for long enough, but we both don't want him calling."
his gaze flickers briefly to his brother, before settling back onto you. "sekido is technically the 'oldest'. a bit rougher than the rest, but," he pauses, his lips tugging up into a small smile. "i'm sure you'll get along just fine."
urogi throws an arm over aizetsu's shoulder, guiding him away as they make their exit. you watch them go, feeling more confused than when you first walked into the restaurant. what kind of family were they, to be so open and yet so guarded? you shake your head, trying to clear your thoughts, as you gather your belongings and head out.

as the day waned, you hurriedly packed your bag and left campus feeling the piercing gaze of the curious onlookers behind you. the sky outside was a blend of oranges and pinks, the sun bidding a warm farewell to the day. you knew you had only a short window of time to change and make it to your night shift at the corner convenience store in your neighborhood.
at night, the store was a hub of activity, bustling with customers seeking to grab a quick snack or last-minute essentials. it was a simple job, but one that kept you afloat, paying your bills and rent. the store was always expecting customers, but not always with the most pleasant of crowds. the sound of shattering glass echoed through the aisles, causing you to wince from the front.
“oi, you’ll be paying for that, dumbass. i told you to watch where you’re going,” growled a gruff voice.
“i ain’t paying for shit,” retorted another voice, filled with equal parts anger and defiance.
you listened nervously as the argument escalated, hoping it would end before you became an issue beyond simple damages. as the two men continued to bicker, you couldn't help but wonder how your life became this - a constant struggle to make ends meet, dealing with difficult people and their petty squabbles. the thought made you feel a little weary, but you squared your shoulders and braced yourself.
the job itself wasn't glamorous, but it was a means to an end. you were grateful for the reliable income that helped manage your rent and groceries. the store owner even threw in a decent discount on some of the items, which came in handy during tight months. and being situated so close to home, you didn't have to worry about losing precious time commuting.
eventually, the two men made their way to the front, both jostling to get to the counter first. you waited patiently as they bickered and pointed fingers, each refusing to take responsibility for the shattered case of beer.
“oi, this bastard shattered a case of beer.”
“that wasn't me it was you.”
“as if.”
“well i ain't paying for it,” came the final reply with a sharp glaze your way.
you knew it was only a matter of time before the blame would fall on you, but you had grown accustomed to these petty disputes. with a smile, you offered to take care of it, hoping to diffuse the situation as quickly as possible.
the men, still grumbling but appeased for the moment, took their leave and headed for the door. you breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that they didn't try to engage with you further. you retreated to the backroom to gather the necessary cleaning supplies, mentally preparing yourself for the next unexpected hurdle.
it was an inconvenience, but at least this one made sense.

the air is thick with the buzz of students rushing to and from their final exams. your own mind is a jumble of information, formulas, and theories that you've tried to cram into your brain in just a few short days. the relief of completing one of the exams is quickly replaced with a sense of exhaustion and the anticipation of the next one. you're stumbling down the hallway when you suddenly collide with someone.
hands steady you, preventing you from falling to the ground, and a familiar voice rings out with laughter.
it's urogi.
you can't help but feel a little surprised to run into him again, especially during such a hectic week. the finals schedule has thrown off your usual routine, making it difficult to anticipate who you might see on campus.
despite the chaos of the week, urogi rather collected. his eyes sparkle mischievously as he greets you, as if he knows something you don't. it's clear that he's not here by coincidence. you wonder if he's been keeping tabs on your schedule, or if he's simply a master of appearing when you least expect it.
you open your mouth to apologize for the collision, but urogi beats you to it. "well, well, well. look who it is! i thought i recognized your backside from a mile away," he jokes, playfully teasing you.
you take a moment to look around and notice that the hallway is filled with students bustling to and fro. the fluorescent lights overhead cast an unnatural glow on everything. the air is heavy with the scent of stale coffee and sweat, a testament to the long hours spent cramming for exams.
in the midst of the chaos, urogi stands out like a beacon of calm. his hair is windswept and his clothing is slightly disheveled, but it only adds to his charm. his eyes dance as he talks, and you find yourself drawn into his infectious energy.
"finished with your exams?" he asks, his curiosity palpable. your last exam of today was one of the later ones, but fortunately, you've managed to escape the night classes this year. you don't know if you could survive that again. still unsure why urogi is talking to you, you respond politely. "yes, one more tomorrow, and i'm done."
urogi nods along. "right, right." as bodies move around you both, you can't help but notice the stares and whispers floating around. this is not the kind of additional stress you needed. you're already exhausted from studying and taking exams, and now you have to deal with gossip and speculation?
"well, i should get going. good luck with the rest of the week." urogi's gaze widens at your abruptness, and he reaches out to stop you. "hold on, i actually came to ask you something."
you can feel your heart rate increasing as you turn to face him. what could he possibly want?
“the thing is,” urogi begins, his voice low and conspiratorial. “i'm hosting an end of semester party tomorrow night. it'll be a chance for everyone to unwind and forget about their worries. you should come.”
you immediately go to decline, you barely know urogi but you know of the crowd he attracts. that definitely would not be your scene trapped in a house with all of them. “thanks for the offer but—”
urogi cuts you off, “it’d be really great if you came. aizetsu needs the break too and he’s more inclined to come if you do. “
he seems to sense your hesitation and reaches out to squeeze your shoulder. it's a show of camaraderie that surprises you. you didn't realize the two of you shared that kind of relationship.
“you still owe aizetsu a treat, right? you can use this as one,” he says with a wink.
you frown at his words, feeling as though you're being manipulated. you cant help but frown at that, “that feels more like a treat from you. which would make it twice youve done that.”
urogi shrugs as he pulls away,” really? i dont see it that way.” he waves of his shoulder as he departs, not giving you room to argue.
“catch up with aizetsu and coordinate. see you tomorrow,” he calls over his shoulder.
as you watch him disappear into the crowd, you're left wondering how quickly this semester has changed.

the final exam had come to a close and the air in the classroom was charged with a palpable sense of relief and accomplishment. as the instructor wrapped up the semester with final words of praise and congratulations, you couldn't help but feel your spirits lift with each passing moment.
you were finally done.
as the rest of the class began to shuffle out of the door, your eyes drifted to aizetsu. despite trying not to think much of it, urogi's offer returned ahain. now, without the excuse of exams, it was harder to bat away.
making up your mind, you rushed to catch up with aizetsu as he made his way out of the classroom.
"aizetsu, hey!" you call out, your heart racing as you catch up to him. he turns at the sound of your voice, and you feel a jolt of something electric as his cool blue eyes meet yours.
"did you feel confident about that? you should, after all the effort i put into quizzing you," aizetsu says, his voice low and smooth. you shake your head, trying to refocus your scattered thoughts.
"yeah, actually. thank you. i used your revision guide last night too." you reply, feeling grateful for his help during the exam preparation.
aizetsu nods. "good, you've earned the break." you notice something lighter in his posture today, something more friendly. "do you have work tonight?" he asks.
his question reminds you that you have something else to ask him. "no, actually, i wanted to see if you were planning to go to urogi's party."you say, your voice laced with a touch of hesitation. aizetsu raises an eyebrow, his expression quizzical.
"urogi's party?" he repeats.
it feels odd to ask, given that they're brothers. but you feel as though you were right in assuming that aizetsu had no interest. as if to mirror your thoughts, he frowns. "no, i never really go. i didn't think it would be something you enjoyed either."
well, it seems you both have a pretty good scope of each other. a gesture that fills you with unexpected warmth. it gives you the courage to push further. "normally no, but i thought it could be fun?" you offer with a shrug. "and i still owe you a treat. let me buy you a drink?"
aizetsu is quiet as he considers you. it's almost as if he sees through you and can imagine the echoed conversation from between his brother and you yesterday. the scrutiny makes you nervous. but just as you go to take back your offer, he sighs with a shrug. "if that's what you want."
"yeah, i think it will be fun," you grin, more t ease with his acceptance.
"alright."
it appears that he wants to say something else but leaves it at that. you watch him go, feeling both relieved and anxious at the same time.

as the evening draws closer, you can feel your anticipation building up. the last day of exams has left you feeling exhilarated, and you can't wait to let loose a little at urogi's party. but before you head out, you decide to put a little extra effort into your attire. you rummage through your closet, picking out an outfit that is both stylish and comfortable.
as you slip into your clothes, you can't help but wonder why you're putting in so much effort. after all, it's just a party, and you'll be surrounded by a bunch of drunken college students. but a part of you knows that you're doing it for yourself, to feel good and confident. and maybe, just maybe, you're hoping that aizetsu will notice too.
the memory of your conversation with aizetsu earlier in the day lingers in your mind. you can't shake off the feeling that something has changed between you two. the way he looked at you, the way he spoke to you - it all felt different somehow.
as you step off the bus, the bustling city surrounds you like a cloak. you take a deep breath, feeling the energy of the crowd electrify your senses. the sound of car horns and chatter mix together in a chaotic symphony, and the neon lights of the city create a vivid display of color.
but as you walk towards the address, you begin to realize that something is off. this is not the typical college housing area where you expected urogi's party to be held. instead, the street is lined with bars and clubs, their neon signs lighting up the night sky.
as you approach the establishment linked to the address, you notice a line of your classmates snaking along the sidewalk. it seems that urogi has chosen a more unconventional venue for his mid-semester bash. you can hear the muffled thump of the bass from inside the bar, and the scent of alcohol and sweat wafts towards you on the breeze.
for a moment, you hesitate. this is not your usual scene, and you feel out of place.
as you approach the entrance, you notice a burly man, who must be the bouncer, engaged in a heated discussion with a student and another man who looks vaguely familiar.
the man’s furrowed brow gives him a perpetually annoyed expression, but you can't help but notice the resemblance between him and aizetsu and urogi. it's almost too obvious for you to believe that he's anything other than the third brother.
that leaves one left.
"there should have been a limit on the patrons," the man grumbles as he stares down at the line of students with a look of distain. "my brother knows the capacity and we're well past it."
"but i was invited," the girl protests, but neither even acknowledges her.
"they're welcome to wait until someone leaves, but i won't have regulators at my door over some college students," he says, turning to leave.
you scan the long line of people waiting outside the venue and a sense of disappointment settles over you. it looks like a never-ending queue, and you can't help but think that no one will be leaving the party anytime soon. the ingress and egress would surely be a nightmare for those at the back of the line, which includes you.
despite feeling a bit disheartened, you had made an effort to dress up for the occasion. you don't know why, but you had a feeling that tonight was special. maybe it was because aizetsu was coming, and you wanted to look your best for him. you hope that he will notice your extra effort, but you're not entirely sure if he will.
you pull out your phone to let him know about the situation.
the least you could do was inform him that you tried. you uncover your phone and send a text
hey, the place is too packed for more entry. i’m going to head home. sorry for convincing you to come :(
his reply comes quicker than you expect.
are you still here?
a few blocks down? about to catch the bus soon.
the text is sent, and you wait for a reply. as you stand at the bus stop, you see the headlights of the approaching transport. but just then, a voice startles you.
“hey, why are you going home? did you not want to come?”
it's aizetsu, and you're surprised to see him standing there. he's dressed more casually than you, in a light shirt and jeans. you quickly explain the situation with the bouncer and the overcrowding.
“but you wanted to come?” he asks, and you can't help but feel a flutter of excitement in your chest.
“i mean, i guess. i got dolled up for it,” you reply, turning a bit to show off your outfit.
aizetsu gives you a quick once-over, and you feel a rush of warmth at the attention.
“then don't let it go to waste. let's go."
you're hesitant at first, but his encouragement pushes you forward. you feel a bit anxious about the overcrowding, but you're also thrilled to be going to the party with aizetsu.
aizetsu's determination to get into the club was unyielding and he led you back under the bright lights illuminating the entrance. despite the short amount of time that had passed, the line had remained steadfast, with the same resolute girl still standing at the front. aizetsu, however, was not deterred as he pulled you to the front of the line. the bouncer regarded you both with a cool stare.
“capacity limit,” he stated firmly.
“they were invited by both myself and urogi. kick someone else out if you want, kyogai, it won't make me sad,” aizetsu replied confidently.
kyogai seemed to consider the proposition for a moment, but ultimately gave in as aizetsu pulled you through the entrance. the waiting students erupted in protest, but their complaints were muffled as the sound of the music inside grew louder.
stepping into the club, you were struck by its beauty. the colors, lights, and sounds all melded together to create an atmosphere unlike any you had experienced before. the room was alive with energy and excitement, and you couldn't help but feel swept up in the moment.
the decor was impeccable, with plush velvet seating and shimmering crystal chandeliers hanging overhead. the bar was lined with a vast array of drinks, and the bartenders were busy mixing and shaking cocktails. the dance floor was a sea of bodies, pulsing with the beat of the music.
“this is beautiful,” you breathed, marveling at the sight before you.
“karaku designed it. he would appreciate the compliment,” aizetsu said and you realized that must be last of his brothers.
indirectly, that meant you were now aware of four of them. your mind raced with questions, but for now, you were content to lose yourself in the magic of the night.
as aizetsu leads you to the bar, you take in the lively atmosphere around you. the music pulsates through your body, vibrating every fiber of your being, and the colorful lights cast playful shadows on the walls. the decor is sleek and modern, with a futuristic vibe that seems to transport you to another dimension. it's a far cry from the usual places you frequent, but you find yourself enjoying the change of pace.
as you lean against the bar, taking in the scene, you feel a sudden tug on your shoulder. urogi stands before you, a wide smile on his face. his presence is commanding, and you can't help but feel drawn to him. his eyes roam over you, and you sense that he's impressed by your appearance.
"where have you been?" he says, his voice tinged with amusement. "fashionably late, i see." urogi dressed for the occasion, comfortable in a nice button up and slacks.
you smile in response, feeling a sense of comfort in his presence. "i wanted to make an entrance," you say playfully. "and i'm glad i did. this place is amazing."
urogi remains close and you can feel the warmth of his body against yours. he turns to the bar and raps his knuckles against the counter, “oi, karaku. you just going to just stand behind the bar oe do work?”
you watch as a handsome man with emerald eyes approaches them, his lips pulled in a tight frown.
it's clear that this man is urogi's brother, and you can see the family resemblance in their sharp features and confident demeanor.
his lips pull in a taut frown as he regards urogi, “i’m meant to manage the staff. since you decided to invite the entire campus.”
karaku's gaze shifts to you and you feel a flutter in your chest. he's just as attractive as his brothers and his eyes seem to penetrate your soul. you can't help but feel a little intimidated by him, but also curious.
“hey, its good business, right?”
“you don't know the first thing about running a business.”
“at least i go to school to learn.”
“And someone how come out dumber.”
“oi—”
as the brothers continue to bicker, you can't help but feel a sense of fascination with this family. they're unlike anyone you've ever met.
as karaku's piercing gaze meets yours again, your heart quickens, and you feel a flush spread across your face. "you're aizetsu's friend," he states matter-of-factly, his voice low and smooth.
you blink, momentarily stunned, before realizing that you've lost sight of aizetsu in the exchange. you glance over your shoulder and see him still leaning against the bar, a picture of nonchalance.
"yeah, that's right," you reply, extending a hand in greeting. to your surprise, karaku accepts the gesture.
"well, what will it be then?" he asks, his tone businesslike.
"oh, i thought you were just managing," you say, trying to keep up with the conversation.
"i am," he replies, his eyes flitting to the busy staff behind the bar. "but since my staff is busy because of him, now i have to step in. your choice?"
you quickly order a simple drink, but karaku frowns at your request. "do you take recommendations?" he asks.
"um, sure," you say, feeling a bit out of your depth.
karaku turns and reaches for a bottle, his hands moving with fluid grace. you watch in awe as he expertly mixes the ingredients, turning a plain liquor into a colorful and vibrant concoction that perfectly matches the atmosphere of the club.
he sets the drink in front of you, and you take a hesitant sip. the taste explodes on your tongue, and you can hardly believe how delicious it is. you take another sip, relishing the complex flavors that dance across your taste buds.
"this is great, thank you," you say, smiling up at karaku.
the corners of his mouth lift in a small grin. "glad you like it."
you fumble for your wallet, but karaku turns away before you can offer to pay. "sorry, i have to go manage my brother's itinerary," he says, his voice fading as he disappears into the crowd.
you feel a hand on your shoulder, and you turn to see urogi at the retreating figure. "hey, you're welcome for the tips, asshole," he says, nudging you playfully.
you laugh, feeling lightheaded from the drink and the atmosphere of the club. it certainly wasn't your typical scene, but you were glad you came.
he gestures to your hand, and you realize that you're still holding your wallet. "you can put that away," he says, "we got you covered. you're a guest."
you feel a twinge of guilt at the thought of being treated, but you realize that it's too late to back out now. aizetsu seems to sense your hesitation, and he steps in to reassure you. "you can get the next one," he says with a smile. "you still owe me a treat, right?"
you nod, feeling grateful for the generosity. it's not often that you get to experience something like this, and you want to make the most of it. you take a deep breath and let the atmosphere of the club wash over you. you can feel your body relaxing, your mind clearing. this is exactly what you needed.
"great," you say, a smile spreading across your face. "now let's really get partying."
in response, urogi grins and you feel yourself being tugged away.
⚘. ⚘. ⚘.
urogi's hands on your waist felt both warm and secure, guiding you along with the rhythm of the music. the dance floor was alive with movement, bodies swaying and pulsing to the beat. you caught glimpses of colorful lights flashing overhead, illuminating the club in a vibrant glow.
aizetsu was still nearby, but his serene demeanor made it clear he wasn't there to party in the same as the others. when you had tried to get him to join, he waved you off, telling you to have fun. you wondered what was weighing on his mind, but decided to let it be for the night. this was a chance to let loose and have some fun, after all.
urogi's voice broke through your thoughts, drawing your attention back to him. "you know, aizetsu's not one to hang out with anyone. he must think highly of you."
you felt a flutter in your chest at the thought. aizetsu was someone you admired greatly, and to know he valued your company was a special feeling.
urogi continued to lead you in the dance, his movements smooth and practiced. "and karaku doesn't just give out recommendations to anyone either. he's a bit of a stickler for quality."
you laughed at the thought of karaku being a hard-to-please critic. it was clear he took pride in his craft, and his passion showed in the drinks he served.
“that just leaves sekido.” urogi’s grip tights as he pulls you to his front. “but I think your luck will carry you through.”
as the night wore on, you felt yourself letting go of any worries or stresses. the music was loud, the drinks were flowing, and the company was good. you were grateful for this moment of pure enjoyment, surrounded by friends old and new.
as you dance with urogi, you become lost in the rhythm of the music and the swirling colors of the lights. your movements flow effortlessly with his as he pulls you closer, his hands finding the curve of your waist.
you glance over at aizetsu, but he seems lost in his own world, his expression solemn and unreadable as he relaxes by the bar. when he catches your gaze, he raises a drink with an equally raised brow.
as you try to slip away from urogi's grasp, you find yourself lost in the surreal atmosphere of the party. the thumping bass of the music seems to pulse through your veins as the neon lights cast a hypnotic spell over the crowd. the scent of sweat and perfume mingles in the air, creating a heady aroma that makes you feel intoxicated.
urogi's hold on your wrist is loose, but his chin rests heavily on your shoulder. you feel his warm breath on your neck, and it sends shivers down your spine. you glance over at aizetsu, who seems to be lost in thought as he sips his drink at the bar. you can't help but feel guilty for abandoning him, especially since he came here with you.
you pull against urogi's grip once more, and he reluctantly lets you go.
“you think it matters but it doesn’t. we’re different but we all appreciate the same thing. try not to think so hard about it.”
his words are cryptic, and you can't help but wonder what he meant by 'we'. who was he referring to? the other party-goers? you shake your head, trying to clear your thoughts, but they remain jumbled and confused.
“urogi what—”
“urogi! finally, i’ve been stuck outside this whole time. why didn’t you come get me?”
just then, a whiny voice interrupts your musings. it's the girl from outside, and she seems to have managed to sneak in somehow. urogi greets her with a forced smile, but his grip on your wrist tightens once again. you can feel the tension in his body, and it makes you uneasy.
the girl's eyes flicker over to your joined hands, and you can see the jealousy simmering in her gaze.
“who is this? didn't they come in with aizetsu?”
you're not sure how much more of this you can take, and you make another attempt to leave. but urogi pulls you even closer, his grip almost suffocating.
"sorry, we need a break," he says, and you can hear the irritation in his voice. you can feel your patience wearing thin as you try to extract yourself from his embrace, but he refuses to let go.
while you definitely agree with the statement, you weren't expecting to be pulled in the opposite direction of the bar. you can feel the tension in his muscles as he leads you towards a quieter corner of the club. the swaying throngs of people blur as you're led towards the next level of the club.
as you pass a red rope barrier, you realize it's a reserved section. the area is dimly lit, but you can make out a few plush couches and armchairs arranged around small tables. the air here smells different too, more luxurious and fragrant. not once does anyone move to stop you both. it's clear now that the club is not only managed by karaku, but also held some sort of ownership.
you can't help but feel a sense of relief at the brief reprieve from the intensity of the party. you take a deep breath and let it out slowly, feeling the cool air against your flushed skin.
urogi's gaze meets yours and you can see a hint of vulnerability in his eyes. "i'm sorry about that," he says, his voice softening. "i wanted you to enjoy yourself, not feel overwhelmed."
you feel a pang of guilt at his words, realizing that you are indeed a stranger to all of this. but there's something about urogi's easy charm that puts you at ease.
“c’mon, i promised you a break.”
as urogi guides you into the room, the pulsing music fades away and the sounds of hushed voices and clinking glasses fill your ears. the dim lighting casts a warm glow on the faces of the people lounging around the room. your eyes immediately find aizetsu, who is leaning back against the couch, his drink held loosely in his hand. he must have slipped through the crowd at some point during the brief confrontation.
“so they managed to get in.”
the voice is deep and smooth.this must be the final one, sekido. his presence commanded attention even from afar. as you approach him, you finally realize the last detail about him that you couldn't place before: his eyes are a piercing shade of vermillion, drawing you in with their intensity. he seems to have grown broader since you last saw him, his arms comfortably stretched over the back of the couch.
“hey, you saw them and didn't let them through? you ass.”
you glance up at urogi, who lets out a sigh as he leads you to the couch and positions you between himself and sekido. you can't help but wish that you were seated between him and aizetsu instead, but you push the thought aside. other than the initial comment, no one made you feel unwelcome.
"they weren't invited by me. apparently, you can thank aizetsu for doing it for you," sekido continues, a smirk playing on his lips.
urogi rolls his eyes and pulls you closer to him, his arm draped around your shoulders. "i can't believe you saw them all dolled up like this and didn't intervene on your own. i wouldn't have been able to resist."
sekido lets out a snort and reaches for his own short glass, taking a sip. "i hardly saw them. and i'm not you."
urogi's arm around you is both comforting and possessive, as if he's claiming you as his own. you're acutely aware of his body heat, the subtle movements of his muscles as he shifts to get more comfortable.
aizetsu, on the other hand, exudes an air of calm, his posture relaxed as he sips his drink. his eyes meet yours briefly and you detect a hint of amusement in his gaze.
sekido, with his broad shoulders and easy confidence, seems like the type of person functions as the foundation of the group. he lounges back against the couch with the careless grace of a panther, his eyes gleaming with a mischievous light. you can't help but feel a little intimidated by him, even though you know he means no harm.
you can feel the tension between the three of them, but you're too stimulated to fully comprehend it. you look around the room, searching for a distraction. "where is karaku?" you finally ask, trying to change the subject.
the man in question enters the room with a flourish, as if summoned, balancing bottles and glasses with practiced ease. you marvel at his skill, wondering how he manages to keep everything from spilling. the scent of rice wine fills the air as he sets the glasses down.
he apologizes for the plainness of the glass, but you don't mind at all. you're just grateful for the hospitality. urogi grumbles about karaku never wanting to meet his friends and you get the sense that there's a deeper tension between the two brothers.
you take a sip of the rice wine, savoring the complex flavors as they dance across your tongue. it's smooth and slightly sweet, with a subtle aftertaste that lingers in your mouth.
“so what about you caught our brother’s interest?”
sekido's sharp gaze bores into you, and you feel yourself squirming uncomfortably under his scrutiny. his eyes seemed to be searching for something, but you couldn't decipher what.
you realize that befriending aizetsu had been quite an accomplishment. but you already partially knew that. the man was not one to socialize much, and you had to muster all your courage to approach him. you had always been anxious about approaching people, even those related to your studies, but something about aizetsu drew you to him.
as you recall the memories of your initial interactions with him, you can't help but smile. aizetsu wasn't the most talkative person, but over the months, he had opened up to you in ways you never expected. you liked being around him because it made him look less alone, but it was more than that. it was a two-way agreement, and he welcomed your presence, going as far as to save your seat when you became a regular.
"i just wanted to be his friend," you finally say, and that was the truth of it.
karaku's voice interrupts the silence that follows. "how cute."
you take another sip of your sake, trying to fill the void created by the unsaid words that were lingering in the air. the brothers around you slide into their own conversations, and you take a moment to observe your surroundings.
the room is dimly lit, casting an warm glow on the faces around you. the air is thick with the scent of sake and the gentle hum of conversation surrounds you like a warm embrace. you feel oddly secure, despite being surrounded by people you barely know.
around you, the air hums with the sound of the brothers' voices, blending together in a cacophony of chatter. it's both exhilarating and terrifying to be in the midst of such men, all of whom exude an aura of authority that's impossible to ignore. you glance down at the floor, where a pattern of intricate symbols is etched into the wooden planks. it's a reminder that you're sitting in their territory, and that fact isn't lost on you.
you're brought back to the present when you notice that your cup has been refilled, courtesy of karaku. the gesture is both generous and intimidating, as if he's reminding you of your place at the table. you take a sip of the drink, letting the liquid wash over your tongue and down your throat.
as you drink, urogi's arm slips back around your shoulders. his touch is surprisingly cool against the warmth of your skin, and you can't help but lean into it, relishing the sensation. you're not sure if it's the alcohol or the company, but you're starting to feel a little lightheaded.
urogi breaks the silence with a teasing question. "so, i want to hear more juicy details of why you like aizetsu. surely, i'm cuter."
you laugh, the sound bubbling up from deep within you. "aren't you all quadruplets? you all look the same."
urogi pouts, his lips twisting into a playful grimace. "oh, so you agree i'm attractive. but that also implies you don't see a difference between us. surely you can appreciate the polarity."
you squint, taking a closer look at urogi. out of all the brothers, he has the most boyish looks. "hmm, let me think," you say, pretending to deliberate. "i guess you do have a more youthful appearance, like aizetsu."
urogi grins mischievously. "oh, still too vague. let me give you something to compare." and with that, he leans forward and kisses you.
the sensation is both shocking and exhilarating. you're not sure what to do at first, but then you start to respond, letting yourself be swept up in the moment. urogi's lips are soft against yours, and his tongue teases yours playfully before he pulls away, leaving you breathless and flushed.
“so?”
for a moment, the air is heavy with the weight of what just happened. your dazed from the action, words thick on your tongue before you can finally manage,” i’ve … never kissed aizetsu.”
urogi’s gaze goes comically wide,” what? but you guys had such a nice date set up before.”
as urogi's words sink in, your mind races to catch up. you had never considered the possibility that your friendship with aizetsu could be interpreted as something open. the memory of your planned outing together suddenly feels like it's been cast in a new light, and you wonder if maybe you had been sending mixed signals all along.
“it wasn't a date… we were…” where were your words?
but before you can even begin to sort through your thoughts, urogi's warm breath tickles your ear, and his words pull you back to the present. "were?" he asks, his voice teasing.
your heart flutters in your chest, and you feel a blush rising to your cheeks.
no, not were to imply something had changed.
because nothing had changed. you are—
you open your mouth to speak, but before you can find the words, karaku's voice cuts through the air like a knife.
"urogi, stop. you're confusing her."
you look up to see aizetsu seated across from you, his expression inscrutable. you can't tell if he's angry or hurt, but the tension in the air is palpable.
for a moment, you feel like you're drowning in a sea of emotions, unsure of which way to swim. you don't know what to say, or even if there's anything you can say to make things right.
as the silence stretches on, you become acutely aware of the atmosphere in the room. the low murmur of conversation from the other patrons of the bar seems to fade into the background, leaving only the sound of your own breathing ringing in your ears.
urogi pouts, “i just asked them a question.”
urogi's pout only adds to the surreal atmosphere, as if his expression alone were enough to challenge the laws of physics. aizetsu doesnt relent, “but you didn’t give them a fair sample to compare. you rushed ahead as usual.”
the brothers continue their conversation, but you find it hard to focus on anything except the electricity that seems to be pulsing through the air.
rushed … ahead..?
just when you think things couldn't get any more intense, aizetsu leans over his brother to cup your face. you're taken aback by the sudden closeness, but before you can even process what's happening, his lips are on yours. the kiss is firm, yet gentle, and you feel your head spin as you lose yourself in the moment. this is the closest you've ever been to him, closer even than during your study sessions.
when he pulls away, you're left gasping for breath, still reeling from the experience. and then, just as suddenly, urogi turns on you. "so now you have a comparison. can you tell the difference?"
you can feel the weight of their gazes on you, but you can't bring yourself to face them. you're not sure if you're ready to handle the scrutiny, not after being kissed by both brothers in such a short span of time. it's all too much, too surreal, and you're struggling to find your footing in this strange new reality.
"look at that flush. now i'm intrigued, you found an interesting one, aizetsu."
you feel a rush of emotions as sekido's words weigh heavy on your mind. was that what they thought of you? were you just another classmate to take advantage of their brotherly bond? the thought makes your heart ache and you feel a sudden urge to leave, to preserve what little dignity you have left.
but before you can make a move, sekido's hand is on your arm, pulling you towards him.
“the two of you are still close from familiarity. they need an outlier to appreciate the variance.”
you can feel the roughness of his calloused skin against your flesh, sending shivers down your spine. as he cranes your head up, you can't help but feel a flutter in your stomach at the intensity of his gaze.
"pay attention," he commands before dropping his mouth to yours.
sekido's kiss is ravenous and urgent, surpassing any notion of chastity as he devours your mouth. his tongue slips past your lips and explores every inch of your mouth with a hunger that takes your breath away. you try to match his intensity, but your chest heaves as you struggle to keep up with his passion. when he pulls away, your head spins from the sheer force of the kiss.
you're left dazed and disoriented, your mind racing with questions and doubts. how had this night come to this? to be caught in the middle of the brothers, playing with your affection? you can't help but feel like you're in over your head, unsure of where this unexpected turn of events will take you.
“well, suppose it's only fair, eh?”
as karaku approaches, you can feel the energy shift, a palpable tension in the air. his presence is suave, and you find yourself captivated by the way he moves, the way he carries himself with such confidence and grace.
he kneels before you, and you feel a jolt of expectation as he leans in to kiss you. the touch of his lips is electric, a subtle shock that ignites a fire within you. his kiss is practiced, but not cold - he leads you through a dance of passion, his movements sure and fluid, his touch light but commanding.
as he pulls away, you can feel your breath catch in your throat, your heart racing with a mixture of excitement and fear. you are unsure of what just transpired, of what it all means - but one thing is clear: this was no longer a simple game.
his thumb brushes across your lips, and you can feel the heat of his gaze as he looks into your eyes. his voice is low and seductive, a whisper that sends shivers down your spine.
"pretty, pretty," he murmurs. "so what do you think, are we so similar?"

Drowning - Theodore Nott X Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: your anniversary date with Theodore takes a turn.
A/N: oneshot! did not proofread. Sorry guys I've been so busy. didn't mean to disappear... anyway. just some quick fluff.
The black lake outstretched before you, the water glistening and gently moving, the brilliant blue sky above reflected the movements in the depths of the water and the sun cloaked you in bright warmth. The rich scent of pine and wildflowers carried through the breeze.
"It's not much," Theodore said modestly. "But I wanted it to be special." he says with a shrug, burying his hands in his pockets. you wrapped your arms around him in an embrace, he still wasn't used to recieving physical affection so naturally he was a bit stiff, but he appreciated the gesture deep down. "Happy anniversary." he says with a soft smile. "thanks, Theo." you say. docked before you on the shore of the black lake is a small boat only large enough for the two of you, with a tiny table with candles and a vase of flowers on it's center.
He guided you, holding your hand as you stepped onto the wooden boat, feeling the water gently rock you from the movement, Theo stepped on and sat across from you. The boat was enchanted, and it began floating away from the shore slowly. this was the perfect moment. the sun began to emit a warm golden glow as it set, illuminating your faces, Theodore gazed into your eyes tenderly.
He wasn't the overly romantic type, but when he wanted to be romantic, he went above and beyond. "you are so beautiful." he says quietly. you smile slightly, looking a the sun-sets' reflection on the horizon. "you are such a charmer," you chuckle. "Keep talking like that and you might get lucky later." you said, somewhat jokingly. "Oh yeah?" Theodore's eyes lit up. "maybe" you retorted. "I guess i'll have to keep talking then," he laughed. "l'amore della mia vita," he says love of my life. "Happy Anniversary to the most kind-hearted, and amazing person I have been blessed to get to know," he says, you smirk, knowing he's saying it to be funny, while also knowing there is sincereity.
"Shall I continue?" he asks. "Oh no, I think you've earned it." you play. "perfect, well I guess my job here is all done." he says sternly, still was a ridiculous amount of sarcasm. "that's all I wanted anyway." there was a shared moment of silence as you both would remember this moment for a very long time...
"Teddy?" you ask, as you notice he's become a bit zoned out, or what seems to be dazed. In reality he is thinking about your future together, although he wouldn't admit it with fear of being percecived as weak by his mates. "hm?" he asks?
"what are you thinking about?" you ask him. "I'm just really happy to have you, lucky even." he explains. "you make me so happy," he says tenderly. you flush slightly, but luckily the sunset hides your expression. The golden glow is gradually fading to darkness. "I love you so much, I can't lose you." he says. "you won't." you offer, trying to comfort him, and yourself at the thought of something happening to either of you.
another moment of silence, a perfect moment, the kind that people write books about or photograph. Being in love is like to cloak of sunlight that has left you, it feels just as warm and bright.
Your mind fixates on theodore constantly, and it did even before you started dating. you are replaying your favorite moments together and dreaming of your future by his side. You feel utterly captivated by his voice, his laugh, his quirks and mannerisms that you find effortlessly endearing. Even the smallest things he does manage to make your heart flutter with giddy joy. Being in love awakens a renewed sense of optimism, passion, and zest for life for Theodore. He gains an unbreakable resilience and willingness to fight for your love, no matter what challenges may arise. Your happiness becomes as vital as his own, maybe more important. It is a rare feeling. Knowing you have someone who would die for you keeps you humble, and it is rewarding at the same time.
"you won't lose me." you say, assuredly. "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." he smiles at the assurance. He hasn't felt this way before. "I love you." you say. It is not that ambivalent moment right as the sun has set enough for the darkness to creep up, but not quite so much that the light is all gone. Theodore slowly rises, and reaches his hand out for you to do the same. The boat rocks back and fourth a bit. You hold Theodore's hand, slowly leaning into the gentle rocking of the boat, but you miscalculate, losing your balance. quickly, you grab onto Theo hoping he would help steady you, however unfortunately you find yourself in the water with a large splash, along with him shortly after.
Gasping from the shock of the biter cold water you look around, seeing that Theodore has not yet surfaced. you are scared, terrified at the thought of merpeople fulling him down to the bottom, or of the giant squid mistaking him for a snack. There is a splash behind you suddenly, causing your panic to continue before Theodores' hands appear on your shoulders. "Boo!" he says, you shriek. "Oh my god, I thought you were drowning!" you scold him. You are staying afloat, and he swims close to you. "Good thing I can swim," he says with a smirk. he's looking into your eyes, and he kisses you, deeply. Had you both not been submerged, it probably would have gotten heated. He pulls away, clutching your face tenderly in his hands. "Sorry if i ruined our Anniversary." he says. " "nonsense." you retort. "It's more romantic this way. and a fun story to tell everyone later," you say. "Now can we get back to shore? I'm freezing!"

hiii! if the event event is still open, may i request aomine with prompt 42?
LATE NIGHT TALKING — AOMINE DAIKI
Tumblr media
aomine daiki + we’ve been doin’ all this late night talkin’  content: fem! reader, fluff, third-year! aomine, one brief mention of throwing up (not reader or aomine), part of the spotify wrapped event notes: i recently watched the last episode of knb again and it got me emotional! again, i’m sorry this took so long and i hope you like it!
Tumblr media
the venue is loud, the bass beat of some remixed pop song making the floor throb. you dance around with momoi and sakurai, who you learned tonight is very outgoing with a little liquid courage. you’re glad the basketball team is celebrating the end of season with the party. it also acts as an early goodbye to all of you third years.
you glance around and shout over the music to momoi, “have you seen aomine?”
“no,” she says. “he’s probably, i don’t know, found a girl or something.”
the thought makes your stomach turn but you tell her, “i’m going to go look for him!” she nods and gives you a thumbs-up, and as you press through throngs of people, you catch one of the other third-years by the arm and ask, “can you keep an eye on those two? just make sure their safe.”
“of course,” he says and you smile gratefully as you make your way out of the main venue.
“aomine?” you peek around the corner. there are a bunch of people milling about, but you don’t spot aomine’s dark blue hair. you wait outside the bathrooms for a minute or two, offering thin, awkward smiles whenever anyone passes by.
you wave down one of the bartenders and ask, “have you seen my friend? really tall, really tan, blue hair?”
“yeah,” she says, pointing at a door towards the back. “i think he went up on the roof.”
you thank her and quickly make your way out. when you push open the door, you’re greeted by a warm gust of wind and the man you’ve been looking for. aomine is sprawled on the rooftop, arms folded under his head. his eyes dart up, shoulders bunching before they relax when he sees you. you crouch next to him and says, “hey, superstar.”
he scoffs at the nickname — one you’ve been calling him since you met him — but replies with a flat, “what do you need? is satsuki puking her guts out yet?”
“no, not yet. i asked yamada to keep on eye on her and sakurai so don’t worry,” you say. you poke his forehead and he rolls his eyes. “why’re you up here?”
“needed some fresh air. was getting a little too stuffy.”
“i’m surprised. you’re usually pretty in your element in places like this.”
he shrugs. “just not feeling it tonight.”
“is it because touou came second this tournament?”
“don’t remind me,” he groans. his eyes flicker up to the sky. “i feel old.”
“i would hardly call third year of high school old.”
“you know what i mean.” he leans up on his elbows. “we’re graduating.”
you huff out a quiet laugh. “yeah, it kind of unbelievable.” you move and lay next to him, mimicking his position. the lights of tokyo make it hard to make out any stars.
there’s a long lull in your conversation before aomine asks, “are you still set on going to california?”
you can’t help but let out a sigh, “yeah, i’m set.”
out of the corner of your eye, you see him frown. “is something bothering you?” you ask.
“no,” he says, shrugging again. “it just seems far, that’s all. far from everything here.”
“yeah, i guess it is.”
there’s another moment of silence and then aomine asks, “what’s it going to mean?”
“that i’m in california and not in japan?”
“no, smart ass,” he says, “i mean with, y’know…” he trails off but you know what he’s talking about. you’ve been anticipating and dreading the conversation all at the same time. whenever you think about it, you can hear your older cousins declaring that this conversation is a make-or-break for relationships — or whatever you can call what you have with aomine.
“… with us,” aomine finally finishes.
you heart is pounding as you ask quietly, “well, what are we exactly, aomine?”
“you’re my girlfriend.”
you shoot up straight and whir around to stare at him. “what?”
“what do you mean ‘what’?” he says, sitting up with you.
“when did we put an actual label on this?”
“did i not ask you?”
“no!”
aomine tilts his head with a certain nonchalance that you’ve come to known him for. “oh, well, do you want to be my girlfriend?”
you can’t stop the smile that blooms. “yeah, aomine, i do.”
“cool,” he says. “cool, cool, cool.”
“‘cool’?” you laugh, “that’s all you have to say, mr. cool guy?” you reach over and pinch his cheeks, pleasantly surprised by the heat you find under your fingertips. he swats your hand away in favor of catching it in his.
“call me daiki.”
“okay, daiki, then you have to call me by my first name too.”
“wasn’t i already doing that?”
“yeah, i guess you were.”
there’s another beat of silence and he says, “you’ve didn’t answer my first question. are we going to be okay?”
“i can’t promise anything,” you reply. “but i’m willing to try.”
“me too.”
“it’s going to take a lot of effort on both our parts.”
“i know,” he says, leaning forward to peck your forehead. “but i’m willing to try.”

delays | george clarke
the most voted for in my poll! also i love cute meeting fics so :)
Tumblr media
the airport was always a liminal space. seeing people getting drunk on seven pound pints in the airport, people with suitcases and business wear waiting impatiently for their plane, and parents with kids waiting in hopes of the family holidays.
you, however, could not be as thrilled to be at the airport. your plane delayed at least three hours due to issues at the other end in greece, when all you were trying to do was join your friends on holiday, after you could only make half the holiday due to work.
your gate was relatively empty, people leaving to get food or have a drink in anticipation of having to wait even longer for the planes arrival. you, on the other hand, had no where to go or nothing to do, so sat mindlessly, music playing on your headphones and looking at the other planes in the taxiways and aprons, almost willing time to move quicker, when someone came and sat pretty close to you.
at first you found it a little strange, that he had sat only one seat apart from you when there was a practically empty gate, until he turned to you with a slight smile, and you saw him say something - which you couldn't quite hear with your headphones loud, so you quickly moved one from the side of your head.
"sorry?" you said softly, indirectly asking him to repeat.
looking at him properly, he was attractive. broad shoulders that were only more accentuated by the tight-ish sky blue top he was wearing, light brown hair and a beard that seemed to suit him almost too well.
"i was just saying i wasn't trying to be weird, just this it the only seat next to a charge port," he laughed slightly, and you nodded a little awkwardly, smiling back.
"yeah, we're probably gonna be stuck here a while," you said with a grimacing smile, and he rolled his eyes in agreement.
"so, are you going anywhere nice?" he asked whilst popping the charger into the socket next to his seat.
you quirked your head a little, "well, we're probably going to the same place, no? i mean, we're at the same gate?" you laughed a little quietly.
"oh, nah, i more meant like, are you going on holiday or something?" he grinned a little.
"oh! yeah, sorry, um, i'm going to meet my friends, they're already on holiday, i'm just joining them late cause i had work, go figure," you smiled back at him, "what about you?"
"oh, i'm pretty much the same - my friends are already on holiday, i'm joining them late." he returned back.
"well, small world... though, i suppose mykonos is kind of a popular place for holidays," you said, a hint of amusement in your voice
a comfortable silence came for a moment as he looked at his phone, now charging, and you couldn't help but watch him for a moment, noticing his eyes were blue now from the light on his phone. but as quickly as he picked it up, he put it back down, and looked at you.
"so, you work?" he said, breaking the silence, "what do you do?"
"well, kind of work, i'm doing a masters, but i have a work placement kind of thing, but i'm doing fashion design," you offered with a small grin, "what about you?"
"oh, well... it's always the most jarring thing to tell people, but i guess i'm a content creator?" he laughed a little, "not that i don't love it, cause obviously i do, but i always feel like it sounds self important or something."
"i don't think it sounds self important," you reassured, "it's quite nice when people love what they do and you can tell, i think at least."
a genuine expression lit up his face, and he nodded a little, "thanks. so, what kind of fashion do you do? not that i know a lot about fashion, but there's like... runway and high-end and streetwear and stuff, right?" he laughed a little awkwardly.
"uhm, i mainly work with avant-garde, which is like.. it's pretty much like very artistic runway, if i had to describe it? a lot of impractical outfits that look visually interesting, basically," i giggled a little as i explained, "but on a personal level, i quite like just making pretty outfits, god knows i have too many clothes."
"i can tell. even in a stuffy airport waiting for a delayed plane, you do make it look good," he complimented, and you could see his eyes lingering on what you were wearing.
you tried your best to sound nonchalant as you felt blush creep on your cheeks.
"i mean, you don't look awful yourself, considering the circumstances," you offered, trying to stay casual, as you watched his eyes flick to your lips for a moment, before a playful smirk tugged at his own.
"so you could make me look cool with this?" he grinned, gesturing down to himself, the plain blue shirt and black shorts. you had to admit, even if it wasn't the height of style in any way, he looked good - effortlessly, it was a 'i've just come back from the gym and i still look good' kind of outfit.
"i mean, don't knock it! in modelling they often say that if you give anyone a nice outfit, they can look good, but only someone who already looks good can look nice in a plain outfit," you quirked an eyebrow up.
"so, what you're saying is i'm drop dead gorgeous?" he teased, and you rolled your eyes.
"hey, you're in gym shorts, i wouldn't go that far," you returned, and he grinned. "but you're definitely above average. not that your ego needs boosting anymore,"
"is that a professional opinion?" he asked, leaning towards you slightly, his eyes almost twinkling with amusement.
you scoffed playfully, "it's an honest opinion."
the low hum of the airport was the only noise for a brief moment, and you could almost feel his eyes flickering over your face.
"so, you're pretty, and charming, and stuck alone in an airport waiting to go on holiday with your friends. your boyfriend also waiting for you there?"
you choked slightly on your laughter, his directness taking you aback slightly, "uhm, wow, okay, straight to the point, are we?" you managed to reply, your cheeks burning, "i don't have a boyfriend."
he grinned, "that's useful." he said, almost matter of factly.
"so, no girlfriend for you?" you giggled back, and he rolled his eyes and huffed mockingly.
"well, it's not my fault i'm the loneliest man ever," he laughed slightly, "i mean, clearly i've got good chat, you're sat here, aren't you?"
you guffawed playfully, "hey, who says i'm not just sat here because i have to be?"
"well, what kind of guy would i be to let that opportunity go to waste?" he asked, smirk playing on his lips.
there was something undeniably attractive about his confidence.
"is that so?" you replied in a mock tone.
"absolutely. but i think i may need a name to call you other than 'you'," he said, leaning a little closer.
you could feel the warmth creeping up your neck.
"it's y/n." you said with a slight giggle, "and you?"
"george," he grinned back. "so, any chance you maybe want to waste some of the three hour delay by going for an insanely overpriced airport drink?"
"can't suppose it could hurt, especially since my friends are almost definitely drinking already."
"likewise with my friends. i mean, we can't let them have all the fun and fall behind ourselves, can we?" he grinned.

⋆·˚ ༘ * all I know is this could either break my heart or bring it back to life
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warnings: kissing, many nsfw implications, this also might be cringe, I’m sorry 😭
pairing: jason grace x daughter of aphrodite
Tumblr media
was it unusual for a child of aphrodite to be scared of being in love? perhaps. but your situation was different because you fell in love with a boy and he shattered your heart, killed it, there was no life left it in anymore (or so you thought)
you told yourself you wouldn’t date again after him because you didn’t want to get hurt the same way you did before
but unfortunately that son of zeus was a little too perfect, very chivalrous might you add. people may ask: isn’t this a good thing? he’s a kind boy that is totally in love with you (you don’t know this though)! no. you can afford to get your heart broken again
then why are you on your way to his cabin as we speak? there is no answer for that. it’s the middle of the night- additionally in the middle of a terrible thunderstorm. it may be your mother guiding y out there, or maybe you decided this yourself, there’s no direct answer for that question
when your hand makes contact with the door of cabin one your heart starts to race. was this even a good idea? probably not, but you’re gonna do it anyways
distracted with your worrisome thoughts you don’t hear the door open until your eyes meet the same blue ones you’ve grown to love
“hi- sorry, did I wake you?”
oh my gods your a mess
“no, you’re fine” jason thinks for a moment before speaking again “come inside” (the second after you step inside lightning strikes in the sky)
“I’m soaked. do you mind if I take my sweatshirt off?” you ask
“not at all”
once you got confirmation you slip it over your head and throw it over a nearby chair to dry
“I’m sorry for coming here so late, but can we talk?” you run your hair through your damp hair to calm it
“yeah, sure. why don’t we sit down?” he suggests
you agree and both take seats side by side on his bed
jason gives you a moment to get comfortable before speaking “what did you want to talk about?”
“I really don’t want to keep you up too long (spoiler warning: you do!) so I’m just going to tell you” you sigh before continuing “last year I was dating this boy, he was amazing, I loved him, and I really thought he loved me, but after we had been dating for six months I found him with one of my sisters in my cabin. after I ended things with him I told myself that I would never date again because I didn’t want to get my heart broken like I did before, but I met you, and you’ve been so kind to me and I really like you. I’m sorry if this is weird for you because I don’t even know if you like me back and if you don’t that means I’ll get my heart broken again, but I just needed to tell you this because you won’t leave my mind and it’s-”
your cut off with a kiss. this isn’t real right? definitely not, you’re in cabin ten trying to fall asleep with your silly (or not so) fantasies
nope, it’s very real. you didn’t realize you were even kissing back until you feel an arm wrap around your waist. the more time that passed, the deeper and more passionate the kisses got and eventually came to clothes discarded on the floor and occasional shocks of electricity (and you thank the gods jason was a son of zeus because of this reason, especially in this moment)
and you must say- this was much better than your fantasies

bucktommy + 29 kiss on the back of the hand
AN ~ (from this prompt list) this idea started as cute regency ball flirty vibes but then the spirit of Tucker compelled me and it was replaced by Crying About Animals In the Sky and I'm sorry . hurt/comfort . it's cute i swear
-
The number one rule of any aircraft, Buck has learnt, is that you don't distract the pilot during critical flight times, like taking off. Yes, even if that pilot is your boyfriend and you're on a date and he's just argued you out of bringing the champagne because he's being responsible and it's never been so thrilling to call yourself a law abiding citizen.
He tries watching Tommy work the controls instead, but even that is a little bit too fascinating: there are so many buttons and switches and stuff in here, it must have taken him a lifetime to learn what they all do, but he moves with ease like it's no different to riding a bike. All Buck wants to do the whole time is ask, and what does this do, and what does this do, and what does this do. So he searches for something else to look at instead, and his eyes fall onto a photograph tucked between dials on the dash.
It's not a particularly good photo; the camera that took it is probably twenty years old by now, and the sun glare in it is atrocious, but Buck makes out that the person taking up about half the image is a younger, rugged-looking Tommy. He looks to be wearing maybe fatigues? Something khaki, with a chain from dog tags disappearing out of frame around his neck. He's got one arm slung around an equally rugged-looking, not nearly as young German Shepherd, who looks to be smiling at his master or maybe about to give him a big old kiss on that dusty face.
The tone in his earpiece changes, then, indicating the communications line has opened back up so he asks;
“Is he yours?”
“Ha, I wish,” Tommy says. “She belongs to the Harrison Airfield. But she's one of my favourites to hire on my off time. Flies like a dream.”
Buck frowns, and then realises Tommy's eyes are still on the skyline.
“No, I mean-” He holds up the picture, waving it in Tommy's periphery. The man does a momentary double take.
“Oh.” His voice gets tight. His eyes move back to the horizon and stay there.
There's a lot we don't know about each other, Buck recalls.
“That's Tucker,” Tommy says, after a moment. “He was an EDD over in Iraq serving with a friend of mine. Retired same time I did, but Bailey stayed on so she asked me to take him. Got me through a lot, that dog. Osteosarcoma got him in the end. I scattered his ashes at Big Bear – me and Bailey fly out every year to say hi. That must have been when I left the picture. Sorry, I- I wasn't expecting that to be there.”
“I'm sorry,” Buck offers. “Sounds like a good boy.”
“Yeah. He was.”
Buck wishes they weren't in a helicopter right now, so that he could pull Tommy in for the bear hug to end all bear hugs. But they are, and he can't, so instead he bumps his shoulder against Tommy's and the man relinquishes one of his arms. Buck takes his time; intertwines their fingers slowly, and lifts Tommy's hand up to his lips for a gentle kiss. He holds on for a long time after that, admiring the scenery and honouring the memory in the silence gifted to them by vast blue skies and craggy mountain forests. Buck resolves to get out of the city more. He's not gone for a decent hike in so long. Maybe there's just something special about sailing over it all like a hawk, but it feels like he's forgotten what beauty lies beyond the vim and vigour of the concrete jungle.
“I can see why you like it up here,” he says. “Everything kind of falls away. It's beautiful. Reminds me of horse riding, now that I think about it.”
“You ride?” Tommy asks.
“Oh, no, not for years. But I used to be a ranch-hand, back in the day before I joined the 118.”
“I thought you used to be a bartender?”
Buck laughs. “Yeah, I used to do a lot of things. Feels like I had the world's longest gap year.”
“Tell me about it,” Tommy offers.
So he does.

Blue was your new favorite color.
How could it not be with what you had just seen? Nanami and Sukuna had probably been weirded out by how fast you had entered your apartment and thrown yourself to the couch.
It wasn’t your fault though. Who had those kind of eyes?
Ocean blue eyes that made you feel like you’d sink and drown in them, yet still thank him. Clear as the sky, and shining like a Zircon. They seemed eternal.
You groan, grabbing the closest cushion and screaming into it. You were acting like a teenager.
A lovesick teenage girl, if you’re specific.
Your moment is interrupted by a knock on your door, so ignoring the how hot your face feels you stand up lazily and head to it.
“Sorry, guys, just needed a momen…”, you trail off as you’re met with not one of your guards, but a pretty brunette.
Pretty brunette with a cigarette residing in her lips.
“You probably thought I was muscle 1 and 2 here, right?”, her voice is muffled by the unlit cigarette so she soon takes it off, “I’m Ieiri Shoko, right across the hall”
“A pleasure, I’m Y/L/N Y/N” you smile sweetly.
“I know, sweetie” she whispers playfully, “Just wanted to ask if you wanted to join me? I’m gonna walk around while taking a smoke, thought it be good for the newbie to sightsee some of the university’s domain”
“Oh. Oh!” You nod excitedly, “Yeah! I’d love that actually, just let me grab my purse real quick”
Shoko nods and you hurry to grab your purse before joining her. But as soon as you take one step with her, two other pairs of feet startle you.
Shoko side eyes them, “I’m assuming they’re joining us?”
“Uh…” they nod making you sigh, “I… I guess so…”
Shoko eyes you carefully before shrugging nonchalantly, “Whatever”
You appreciate how nonchalant she acts, knowing it isn’t nice to be followed, especially after Nitta and Higuruma join.
Both of you silently take the elevator before going out the building. As soon as you’re out, Shoko lights her cigarette and places it on her mouth, taking a big inhale.
“You mind the smoke?” She ask after exhaling.
You shake your head, “Many politicians smoke on our poker games, although they prefer cigars”
“Fancy” another intake, “Wanna try?”
You hurriedly shake your head, already imagining the headlines if a photo of you were to be taken as you tried smoking.
Shoko doesn’t pressure you, instead she restarts walking and you follow her silently.
Until you stop feeling cement under your feet and instead hear the crunching of leaves. Your eyes widen as you see the sight before you.
“Welcome to my favorite place” Shoko smiles faintly, “Paradise inside Hell”
You don’t laugh at her slight joke about university, too mesmerized by the sight in front of you.
Many trees, as green as anyone could imagine, surrounding a light blue lagoon that has a little wooden bridge for students to cross. Everything enclosed because of the tall trees making the sun slightly make it through the spaces, giving it a magical twinkling atmosphere. And many beautiful vibrant wild flowers.
It was what as a child you’d imagine a fairy forest would look like.
The wind was rustling, the leaves of the trees and the birds were singing along, and you had never felt more free.
“Are you high?”
You snap out of your daze, “W-What?!”
“You had a weird look just now” she shrugs.
“I-I’m not” you cross your arms, “It’s just… it’s beautiful”
Shoko grins faintly, “Yeah, it is. Come on”
She takes you over to the bridge where she takes out another cigarette to lit.
“So, Miss First Daughter…”
“Y/N” you correct her.
“So, Miss Y/N First Daughter” you sigh “why did you come here?”
“I’m sorry?”
“Not trying to be rude, just curious” she shrugs, taking a hit of her cigarette, “Seems too far from home”
“Everybody goes far for college”
“You’re not everybody though, you’re… different”
“Maybe I’m not really that different”
“And, yet, to their eyes you’ll always be it” she takes a deep hit, “Fucking stereotypes, right?”
You frown before sighing, turning to look at the lagoon in front of you that’s being bathe in soft sunlight.
She was right. No matter what you did or how you presented yourself, you’d always be the President’s daughter. You could try as hard as you’d like but nothing would change that fact, and nothing would change the fact that people would treat you as they found convenient.
You side eyed Shoko and thought that maybe not everyone would treat you according to their convenience. Maybe someone would treat you with sincerity, view you as an equal, just as she had done now.
You smiled faintly. Everything would by fine.
⛊ ☼ ⛉ ☼ ⛊ ☼ ⛉ ☼ ⛊
You had thought you’d blend in. Thought you’d be able to show everyone that you were one of them. But you just had to wear the newest set from Burberry, that hadn’t even come out.
You looked just as if you’d come right out of a Vogue magazine, while everyone else wore jeans and sneakers.
Your skirt felt tighter around you, and your matching vest suddenly itch. Why did you have to wear this? Did you even owned a pair of jeans? You must, right? You could feel the stares of the students around you as you entered the classroom.
Kill me now, you thought.
You sigh. You’d keep your head high. Giving the matching headband, you make your way to one of the middle seats.
Only for the ones surrounding you being occupy by your four bodyguards, leaving at least two seats between you and them as they made sure no one else even considered joining you.
Keeping your face down, you try to focus on setting the iPad you’d use for taking notes. Trying to ignore the stares, muting the whispers.
But they didn’t stop, not even when the professor started his lesson. You felt vulnerable.
“Wasn’t she taller on TV?”
“I thought her hair was darker.”
“What is she wearing?”
“Do you think she really speaks six languages? Looks kinda dumb… no offense”
Mute them. Mute them.
You were trying to take some notes as your professors explained, but the whispers seemed to just get louder as time passed. You wouldn’t be able to take it much longer, you felt too exposed like this.
You needed an out. But… what would they say if you just stood and left?
Was this how it was gonna be from now on?
“Okay!” Your professor finally calls out, “I know I’m not as pretty, but come on, work with me”
Your hand on your Apple pen tightens as you try to stare without an ounce of discomfort at your professor. You couldn’t let yourself be affected. Not with these many eyes on you.
Fake it, Y/N, you remind yourself, just fake it.
“I’m pretty, why is no one staring at me?”
You turn around, startled, towards the deep soothing voice. Shining blue Zircon eyes and an award winning smile. Striking white hair that matched his pale white skin.
He was… beautiful. Ethereal.
“That’s more like it! Appreciate your TA more” he pouts jokingly, “I’m not meant to blend in, so please don’t be modest”
And he was your savior.
Everyone’s attention had left you as soon as he spoke. And he kept it. His playful smile and the twinkle in his eyes as he joked around had everyone hooked.
The class kept going as if nothing happened and nobody looked your way again. All thanks to him.
You run as fast as your heeled loafers let you, trying to catch up to him. But his legs were way longer and you’d never catch him with four people surrounding you.
But you had to thank him.
“Hey! Hey!” You screamed, “Hey! You! Hey!”
Nothing.
You groan.
“HEY, YOU! JACK FROST!”
That made him stop… along with everyone else. You blush under all the stares but ignore them to hurriedly make your way to the white haired god-looking guy.
Who’s currently looking at you as if trying very hard to not laugh in your face.
“Jack Frost?”
“First thing that came to mind” you excuse yourself rapidly, “I just wanted to thank you”
“By calling me Jack Frost?”
“It just came out, okay?” You sigh, “Thank you, for what you did in there… I was ready to run out of there when you stepped in, so thank you”
His grins softens, “No problem, Blair Waldorf”
“What?”
“Gossip Girl’s true queen B” he explains, making you frown in confusion, “Wait… you haven’t watched Gossip Girl?”
You shake your head making him gasp.
“What girl hasn’t watched Gossip Girl? It’s like the show for teenage girls”
“And you watched it…?”
“It’s not just for girls, okay? I appreciate some drama” he shakes his head in disapproval, “Can’t believe you are like her modern version with your cute matching set and headband, yet have no idea who she is. The disappointment”
“Is it that popular?”
“You asking that is a total insult. It should be illegal to be this uncultured” he sighs, “Wanna thank me for what I did in there? Watch Gossip Girl”
You laugh silently at the odd request but nod, feeling slightly warm once you realize the comfort in which you both speak to one another. It was refreshing.
“I’m Y/L/N Y/N” you hold your hand out.
He stares at your hand with a playful twinkle, laughing slightly before shaking it with his own.
“Gojo Satoru” his grin widens, “a.k.a. Jack Frost, Miss Waldorf”
You feel yourself smile, “A pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Mr. Frost”
“Likewise, my lady”
⛊ ☼ ⛉ ☼ ⛊ ☼ ⛉ ☼ ⛊
Maybe you had to go to the doctor. It couldn’t be normal to feel this giddy or smile this much. The way your stomach was twisting and turning by itself couldn’t be normal. Also your face was hot, like freakingly so.
And it all had happened after meeting Satoru.
Just remembering the encounter made you giggle to yourself as you hug your precious teddy bear close to your chest.
Maybe you were going crazy.
That must be it. Sitting up, you start contemplating. You nod, standing up, and heading in your pajamas to your door and into the hallway. Kento stares at you with a frown but you ignore him. You’re on a mission.
You stop in front of the door and knock softly.
Footsteps are soon heard and you contemplate running for away but the door opens. All air leaves your lungs once you realize it is not Shoko in front of you.
“And who might you be?”
His voice is deep yet warm. And even though he is tall nothing about him makes him seem intimidating. Well, nothing except his looks.
What the hell was going on in this university? Was one of its requirements to be out-of-this-word good looking? It was honestly insane.
If Satoru had been like the dazzling, bright, mesmerizing sun, then the guy in front of her was the mysterious, beautiful, pure moon. Pale skin, dark eyes and night dark shoulder-length silky hair.
Satoru had been beautiful in a godly way. But this guy was beautiful in a fairytale way.
“You’re not Shoko” you whisper.
He smiles, sweetly, “Thankfully I’m not. She’s across from you on the other end”
“Oh” you stupidly answer, “I was too in my head, I’m so sorry”
“No worries. It’s not every night I get to see a pretty girl in a silk nightgown”
You squeal crossing your arm to try to cover yourself a bit, blushing as you hear his deep laugh.
“Here” he gives you a leather jacket.
“N-no. Don’t worry. I don’t have to go that far”
“I know. Still, take it” he smiles, “You seem too self conscious right now to be comfortable”
You smile at his consideration, taking the way-too-big-for-you leather jacket and putting it on.
“Isn’t it too late to go wandering?”
“I wasn’t wandering, I was going to visit a… friend?”
“You don’t sound to sure” he teases, “Was it an emergency at least? Shoko appreciated her beauty sleep”
“It could be” you try to defend yourself.
“So… you don’t know?”
“It c-could be”
He nods, biting his lips to not laugh, “If it’s that important, does it need to be with her or can I help you? I’m the RA here, so you don’t think I’m trying something freaky”
“You’re the RA? I didn’t know that”
“Your little informant didn’t give you that important detail?” He jokes, “Maybe you sure consider lowering his salary”
“Definitely. Who knows what else he got wrong? Is your middle name not Fernando?”
“Guilty”
You both laugh slightly. You don’t even notice the way he silently eyes you and your surroundings, as if alert.
“I get what they meant now”
“Huh?”
“Shoko and Satoru. They mentioned you were interesting, guess they were right”
You feel your chest warm, as if you’d been hugged, “They mentioned me?”
He nods, “Yeah. Is that a surprise?”
“I mean… to be mention by people who actually got to know me at least a little because they actually talked and listened to me? Yeah”
“It’s tough?”
“You don’t even know the slightest” you sigh.
“Then, good thing none of us really care about backgrounds” he smiles caringly, “You should join us this Friday, a friend of us is hosting a party”
“Party?”
“Yeah, seems like you need to have some fun. Loosen up a little”
“I don’t know…”
“Think about it. No pressure, okay?” You nods, “Now go to bed, you have class early tomorrow”
“Aye, aye, captain!”
You wave goodbye before turning around and happily make your way back to your studio. Not even questioning how he knew that you had an early schedule the next day.
How could you when you were on cloud nine after making three new acquaintances your age for the first time?
You threw yourself on your bed, laughing out loud in excitement. Was this what it was like to make friends? Were you finally able to live some normal experiences?
The hold on the leather jacket you were wearing tightens as you hug yourself, letting his strong cologne be inhaled by you.
You had friends. You were not alone anymore.

So @applestruda and I, as well as a friend of ours, have been watching Fantasy High together. That made me think. What if some of our sillies played DND?
--
Grian smiled, the kind of smile that always preceded a prank or something equally as dastardly. “You find yourself traversing through the forest, surrounded by trees that stretch–” And he reached up with an arm to show the great height of the forest– “right up to the sky, it seems. There's a muggy, sort of humid air, and you can hear that the birds are calling for potential mates in the distance.”
Impulse nudged Jimmy with a grin. “Hey, lover bird, sounds like your kind of crowd.”
Jimmy flushed a bright pink, spluttering out, “No, what the– oh my gosh, Impulse, that's so rude!” to laughter from around the table.
Even Grian had to hide a chuckle, before going back to describing the scene. “And you see, as you're trekking through this jungle– Pearl in front, slashing through the vines and smaller underbrush with her sword– you find that the underbrush suddenly stops, and there is a huge lake of what seems to be quicksand blocking the path.”
“Can I jump over it?” Pearl asked immediately, to which Grian, after a moment of consideration, shrugged.
“It's worth trying,” he answered, “give me an acrobatics roll.”
Pearl took up one of her starry blue die and rolled it, peering at the number when it stopped moving. “14– 18, with acrobatics.”
Grian thought for a moment, before shrugging and nodding his head. “...yeah, that works. You, take a few steps back, get a running start, and you jump over that quicksand like its nothing. It's– definitely not nothing, you probably just broke a human world record for long jump with half the effort, but hey, that's the fun of not being human!”
“I feel targeted,” Impulse joked, earning a round of giggles.
“Right, then. That's Pearl's turn.” Grian turned to Jimmy. “Do you wanna try doing the same thing, or are you gonna look for another way...?”
Jimmy grabbed his die, shaking it eagerly in his hands. “Oh, we're jumping this thing, baby.” He released the die, glanced at the number, and let out a horrified exclamation. “Nat one! That's– no, oh no, that's not–!”
Grian already had an evil grin on his face. “So, you go to jump over this huge thing of quicksand– and it's huge, man, you don't even know why you're doing this– and you land right in the middle of it, flat on your face, and begin to sink.”
Jimmy groaned, burying his head in his hands as the table laughed. “Oh, this is awful, this is awful...”
Tango fumbled with his die. “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, can I– can I roll to help him, or something?”
Grian snickered. “Go ahead.”
Tango rolled, and screeched. “Oh no! I got a nat one! Ohhh, no!”
The whole table started dying from laughter, Scar almost falling out of his chair, startling Jellie in the process. Tilly barked once, her tail wagging as she panted heavily.
Grian wiped tears from his eyes. “Ohhh, boy. Oh man.” He giggled, his wings shaking as he tried to calm himself. “Right. So, you see Jimmy sinking face first into the quicksand, and you quickly jump out to help him– falling straight into the quicksand yourself, almost landing on Jimmy in the process.”
Tango pulled his knees up to his chest, burying his face in his knees as he wailed. “Oh, nooo! I'm so sorry, Jimmy!”

Just a Dream
A fic inspired by a gmod animation @therabbitdemon did in the discord server we are in! Summary: It was finally the moment he has been waiting for, as he watches the sunset his dream finally comes true. He finally gets to confess his feelings for his ex rival after all this time.  Tags: Love confessions, first kiss, two idiots in love, character death, angst with happy ending, fluff
SMG4 sighs walking back from a shopping trip, thanks to Mario experimenting making different kinds of spaghetti they ran out of food at the castle. He smiles seeing his home, as he enters his home something feels off. The castle was too silent, he looked around and saw no one was home. He was getting worried, hoping that Mario hadn't gone next door and set something on fire so he dashed out to see SMG3.
He runs into the cafe and lets out a sigh of relief seeing nothing was broken yet, looking around he was glad to see the snails have not damaged the cafe. He hears a ding from an elevator letting him know Three was approaching, he walks out from the back room and screams seeing four. “WHAT THE HELL!? SMG4, why are you here? The cafe is still closed!”  SMG4 lets out a sheepish smile as he waves “Uh the sunset looks nice..thought you needed air?” Four wanted to facepalm at how terrible that was.
Three looked him up and down before relaxing, he rolled his eyes as he walked out the cafe “Whatever, I was going to take a walk anyways.” Four smiles as he follows three, the pair stop in front of the castle and look at the sunset together. It was relaxing, whatever troubles he was having felt as they were being washed away. Three takes a deep breath as he turns to the other man “Um..four?” turning he notices Three's face “Yeah?”
Three blushes the moment their eyes made contact, he had to do it. Three had been planning to confess to the other man for days, so watching the sunset was the perfect time. He looks down nervously “I um…” Four looks at him concerned “Are you okay?” in panic Three yells “YEAH!” realizing he yelled at his ex rival he looks down “I’m..sorry.”
What was wrong with him, he just had to say those magic words and face the music. Four smiles softly at Three, he lifts up his hand “It’s okay!” Three nods turning to Four “I just…” slowly he grabs Four’s hand causing the man's eyes to widen in surprise “I wanna tell you something..” Four looked at their hands intertwined, he felt his heart race “Wha-what is it?” his eyes slowly move looking into Three’s crimson red eyes.  “SMG4 I-” without thinking they both slowly lean forward, Four knew exactly what Three wanted to say. And Three picked up on it as their lips connected.
Suddenly Four hears static, he pulls away to see Three has been frozen. He takes a step back. Confused, he runs to look for help. He runs out the showgrounds only to appear back at the grounds, he gasps seeing Three with another person. They kissed Three and the both of them giggled “I'm so glad you picked me over that idiot four, cause darling we were made for each other.” Four growled and was ready to approach them when he heard static again, then the showgrounds went dark.
“Four wake up! We can't lose you too!”  He heard Meggy's voice from a distance.
That's when his memory returned to him, they were trapped in the TV world. Mario escaped and helped them get out of their brainwash. The crew were on their way to leave the castle, when the strange flesh tentacles approached them just like at peach's castle. They did their best to dodge and fight out the appendages only for Four to trip and hit his head. Disorientated he was unable to defend himself, that's when three jumped in front of him.
Four wakes up staring at the blue sky, slowly sitting up he sees the crew crying. Was that whole thing a dream?
Getting up the crew didn't hear him approach until he saw the reason for everyone's tears. There on the floor was SMG3 devoid of any life “I…what? This has to be a joke…” hearing four the crew run giving him a group hug. SMG3 was gone, after all they went through after learning his feelings through a dream, he lost any chance to tell the man his feelings. Mario looks down shaking “Mario failed to save you all…im sorry.”
Meggy shakes her head “This isn't your fault, it's that TV bastard fault!”
They hear laughter causing them to turn around “We can have this now can we?” the man of the hour arrives. They watch as Mr Puzzles smirks at them flashing a TV remote “We cant get those five star ratings with a favorite character dead, that just won't do!”
Seeing the remote, Four charges at the adware determine to get the remote to save Three. Mr Puzzles chuckles as he hits pause on them “You all really are idiots, hahaha don't worry i will fix this and then we will go back to making the perfect endless entertainment,”
Mr Puzzles hits rewind bringing the guardian to life, he quickly starts to tend to the wounds. Seeing this Four felt a strange energy flow through him, his eyes glow yellow as he starts breaking free. The moment he was able to move again he charged at Mr Puzzle, hearing movement he turned “HOW ARE YOU-” Four using the strange energy punches the screen smashing the TV. Mr puzzle falls to the ground as Four frees the others “WE NEED TO RUN NOW!”
Mario picks up the now living SMG3 and runs with the crew, as they run Four remembers one of Three’s old hideouts and leads everyone there.  Now safe everyone decided to rest and plan in the morning. Four sits next to the unconscious SMG3, gently he runs his fingers through Three’s hair “I hope you wake up soon three, we have a lot to talk about.” He lets out a shaky laugh “I need to tell you..I'm sorry im such an idiot and that i love you.”
He breaks down crying not hearing someone moving next to him, he jumps when hands gently wipe his tears “You are an idiot, what dumbass confesses to a man near death?” Fours eyes go wide turning and seeing Three give him a weak smile, without a second thought Four makes his dream come true as he pulls Three in for a kiss. Mario, who was walking over to check on them, sees the kiss and smiles “About time,” he turns to let the others know the pair was okay. They don't know what the battle with the Adware will bring, but one thing was for sure, Four wont let Three go again.

you and jamil have ice cold sweets of blue and red together on the beach's shore
~jamil viper x gender neutral reader~ word count: 1.5k words

“What kind of popsicle stand only has two flavors?” You said, bewildered, holding up a blue, frozen treat you had just gotten from a nearby vendor—gazing at how the sweets shined and reflected underneath the sun. It had only been moments since you’d purchased it, however, as you continued to gaze at the sugary snack, you began to notice how the popsicle had already been melting under the heat of the beachside shore.
So much for a cool down, you sneered. What was the point in buying a cold treat if it would just melt away the second it touched the atmosphere?
“It is a bit odd considering it only features popsicles.” Beside you, your boyfriend had reached out to your form, signaling for you to hand him your trash, as he flipped his braided hair away from his shoulder, “You’d think they’d invest in more choices to satisfy different customers.” Jamil spoke, voicing his thoughts on the matter all while guiding his eyes to his own strawberry flavored popsicle—the red of his treat contrasting with the blue of your own.
“Yeah,” you continued, licking the blue popsicle in your hand in the process, “But, hey, at least we got something. The beach was scorching hot earlier; I think we deserve at least this much.” Squinting up to the setting sky, a bead of sweat then ran down the side of your forehead at the utterance of your words. You lazily wiped it away, making sure it wouldn’t collide with your eye, as you turned your attention back towards your boyfriend who seemed to be least affected by the heat compared to you.
It’s like his body doesn’t even sweat; it just sparkles— You observed, half of you envious of the young man and the other half adoring the sight before you. It was as if Jamil had always had the upper hand against you—whether he was aware of it or not—just by simply existing in the world as his effortless radiance caused pulses of your heart to skip and turn and churn into a rose-colored oblivion. Indefinitely unfair to you, but Jamil had found a certain smugness to his expression whenever he’d catch you dreamily staring off into space or fanning away a pink color from your face at his actions.
Jamil looked back at you, also eating away at the treat resting in his hand as the red from the popsicle already made its way to tinting his lips, “True enough.” A silence much too comfortable to interrupt then played between you two as you both made your way back to the shore you’d spent your day in, dipping your feet into the water as it caressed the sides of your ankles with the sea’s consistent waves. The day at the beach had been long yet exhilarating starting with you, Jamil, Kalim, as well as the first years deciding it would be fun to take a trip to the coast on your vacation off from Night Raven. You looked back at the day spent with your friends as the sun lowered from its place in the sky along with the many shades of pink, scarlet, and orange encapsulating it in the stratosphere. You looked back at the memories you had, the moments and seconds you’d spent that day, laughing with everyone around you, as splashes of saltwater flooded your mind in bliss. You saw as the volleyball you all had played with hours ago flew miles above your heads in your memories, the castles Ace and Deuce had built before its destruction by oceanic waves seconds after, and even the birds who’d dive down to your little group, attempting to sneak a small bite from Kalim’s food—all of it, you reminisced.
Although, as you continued savoring the sweetness of your blue popsicle on the coastline of the sea, you had come to find that there’d been one final thing missing from your trip to the shore before it would end, and that was—
“Ah—Sorry,” you noticed Jamil hesitantly apologizing as you jumped up in surprise, feeling a familiar hand softly stroke the side of your cheek. To your left, Jamil had suddenly been inches closer to your form than he’d usually been, appearing as dumbfounded as you, while a whisper of the breeze whistled through your ears alike. You watched the sun continue to set while golden rays of light reflected onto the waves of the beach and into Jamil’s charcoal eyes, ridden with nerves and hidden anticipation you could not pinpoint just yet. “You just had a little…” Jamil softly spoke with his hand still lingering against your now rosy face, “sand on your cheek.”
“Oh, uh, yeah,” your words began to fumble, struggling to maintain eye contact with the man, “Thank you.”
Another period of silence cut between the two of you as you both stood frozen still in the shallow water as if both of your bodies denied the melting heat of the sun. As more time had passed, a greater tension built up between you and Jamil, one filled with curiosity, anxiousness, nervousness, and adrenaline. It caused your stomach to freeze, your breathing to stop, and your heart to halt at the uncertainties that could happen next. You and Jamil were expecting something from one another. Something magical. Something fearful. Something you’d been wishing to do for ages. Something worthwhile.
The main question you two had for each other, however, was what? What had you wished for from him? Or what had he wished for from you?
“This is really random, but…” you finally said, peering back at the second year’s now questioning face, heart gradually picking up its pace and beginning to race further than a marathon. “Have you ever felt what it’s like to be kissed by a person yet, Jamil?”
A droplet of your popsicle then proceeded to slowly drip down the stick keeping it in its place.
“No… I’m afraid not,” Jamil replied, his usual composure still being maintained by his calmness—however, this time, with an increasing shade of pink that could rival the sunset in his cheeks.
“Then…” you stepped closer, making you two only centimeters apart, “Would you like to? Experience it, I mean.”
“I wouldn’t be… opposed to it.”
“Okay then.” You placed a delicate hand to his face just as he had done earlier to you, whispering, “Close your eyes.” At the utterance of your words, you could almost feel the flutter of his eyelashes as they closed shut, the final image being you closer than ever as he subconsciously guided his hand to your waist, engulfing you in warmth you’d take any day rather than the burning of the sun. Your lips quickly found each other, both eager yet unsure, as you slowly led him with every movement. Passionate yet gentle, smooth yet anxious, tender yet desperate—it was as if so little yet so many emotions coursed through yours and his touch alike with each electrifying moment. With the frozen treats now long forgotten, you continued placing slow kisses on Jamil’s lips as the blue and red from your popsicles dripped into the water beneath you. He tasted like strawberries and sweetness, dreams and a plethora of ecstasies.
Lips connected like two pieces of a flustered puzzle just as you raised a hand to run it through the silk locks of your boyfriend’s hair, causing him to lean into your touch, relaxed and satisfied. Was this what it was like to have the upper hand against a partner? To discompose the ever-suave Jamil Viper? You smelled the salt of the water around you, the sweetness of the melting popsicle in your hand, and the familiar scent of home you’d always catch every time you were ever near Jamil. You felt the refreshing chill of the breeze, the waves of water against your feet, and the feeling of him hugging your waist tighter as if you’d disappear the instant he’d ever let you go. Slightly opening your eyes, you saw a line of palm trees swaying with the wind, a pair of love birds flying in circles above you, as well as the relaxed expression of the boy in front of you as you kissed him.
All things at that instant had just felt… right. Like you were always meant to be here at this exact time, at the exact place.
Perfection as it were in a movie.
“HEY!” The voice of your cat-like friend had then intruded the scene as you and Jamil instantly pulled away from each other, with you lightly touching your lips in a daze and Jamil attempting to recompose himself. “We’re about to head back to the—Wait,” Grim, who was now a couple feet away from you, paused, examining your appearances. “Did you guys get grape popsicles? Where?!” The young creature exclaimed with woe. “I thought they only had two flavors, dammit!”
“Grape?” you asked as a laugh escaped your mouth from your friend’s obvious questions, “Grim, what do you mean? Of course we didn’t have any grape—”
Jamil, however, shot his head up first at Grim’s questions and you second upon hearing your exchange with your familiar as you checked your bodies for any absurdities, immediately suspecting one main culprit.
You looked at Jamil, intently, thinking the same thoughts, “Oh, Sevens, no—”
Purple.
The lips of both you and Jamil, rather than the separate shades of blue and red you expected, were now purple.

late nights in the middle of June
synopsis: johnny isn't feeling quite well and although it wasn't too too late, the only place he would rather be was at your doorstep. aka Johnny got into a fight with his dad over the phone and Johnny wants your company in the early summer night
warnings: sfw, fluff, gn! *fem if you squint* reader, unknown mutural pinning, platonic, friends to lovers, parental disagreements and infidelity, bad scottish gaelic, and maybe ooc soap?
a/n: this is my first time writing him-well anyone from codmw2, so please be gentle haha
Tumblr media
"Ith mo chac (Eat my shit), Pa! I don't fucking care about it anymore, just...fuckin' a, just leave Ma. Steamin' Jesus.." Soap trails off as his hand brushes his growing mohawk back. He hangs up. The sky was growing dimmer, so he assumes it must be getting late. The perks of summer meant longer delays of the sun setting, which also meant that finding comfort in the dark skies also have to be post-poned.
His father was never a good man, but nor was he a particularly bad man. Like every father, Soap tells himself, his own has his ups and downs. He can't hate family right? Except he thinks he can now when one of his cousins had sent him a picture of his father in a small cafe, kissing some gal that certainly wasn't his beautiful mother. Soap can only feel burning rage as he picked up his cell and ringing up his dad within the next beat; what happened next was just in blind fury.
He doesn't remember putting his personal phone on 'do not disturb' as a multitude of texts and miss calls buzzed through it. He doesn't remember opening his barracks door and walking over to the building next. And he definitely doesn't remember you ever looking so kind and warm when you opened the door for him. You smiled, and Soap might as well just have melted in your arms.
"Hey, Johnny, what's up?" you asked, as the towel drying your hair laid over your shoulder. You looked at his face, studying it with your doe eyes. "It's like, 8 and a Friday night, shouldn't you be out and about?"
Soap pulls his gaze from you and looks away to his right, a hand rubbing behind his neck as he sighs nervously. "I just, uh wasn't feeling up for it, 's all."
You drop your wide smile a bit as a look of concern washed over your face, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
His eyes darted to you and he shook his hands a bit, signalling that it's nothing like that. "No, Bonnie, 'M alright," He laughs a bit, "Will you let me in?"
"Yeah, for sure," You scooted over a bit behind the door to make room for him to come in, and he did.
The room wasn't big, the size of a small motel room, just like all the others. So he decided to sit on the edge of your made bed, the thin, blue military sheets having been replaced with a surprisingly heavy white duvet instead. "Sorry for intruding on yer night, Lass."
You eased the door to close and locked it with a hefty 'click'. You reached and bent your head down a bit to continue drying your hair as you made your way over to sit in your desk chair across from him. "Wanna tell me why you're left on my doorstep like a lost pup?"
Soap chuckled and sighs a bit as he lowers his gaze with his hands rubbing his knees awkwardly. "I uh...I just had a bit of a...altercation, with my father. Just didn't know what to do."
You plop down your towel on the wooden desk behind you, taking a moment to grab your hair brush and nonchalantly combed your hair as you took in the sight in front of you. soap looked...anxious, awkward even. He looked small and cowering rather than his bright and bubbly self, like as if there was suddenly a solar eclipse as the sun in front of you had dimmed and was covered in a dark night. "Do you want to talk about it? I'm a great listener. Just saying! But we can just mess around and get you distracted."
"I don't want to talk about it." He made up his mind rather quickly as he patted his thigh with his hands. A small, thin smile rested on his face as he looks up at you. "Sorry I just, I don't know. Just wanted to see you, Lass."
A toothy grin played itself on your face. "Let's eat then. Are you hungry?" You stand up to open your cabinet of pre-packaged meals. "I was gonna have some ramen anyway."
He watches you like a hawk as he stands up to lean against the small archway to the "kitchen" area of the room. It really was just stove-oven, cabinets, a sink, and a fridge. It was small, but practical. He looked as you opened the packets and put it into a small pot and settling it on the stove. Then you repeated the process again, settling what he can only assume as his own on the burner neighboring yours. You look up at him and he looks at you. His gaze bore into your eyes, looking pass them and into your soul, and in return he gets to be broken down by your own longing gaze. You pull your watch from him and grin shyly as you pour a drink into two glasses. Handing him one, you didn't dare to look at him as your face burned a subtle pink. "Yours."
"Lass..." He mumbles, barely a whisper to catch your attention. You stop preparing the food and turn off the burners, humming in response.
“What is it, J-" You didn't get to finish as he wraps his arms around your waist, burying his face into the crook of your neck. He was heavy, Hell, you almost fell back. But you didn't. And you didn't pull away either. Sure, Johnny hugged you all the time, whether it be a small side hug when you did a particularly good job or a dab up hug when y'all haven't seen each other in a while. But this was different. He held onto you, like he couldn't breathe without you, like you were his. A pang rang through your heart, it aches as it longs for Johnny to never let go. It aches for him. "It's okay..." You whisper as the palms of your hands rub his back up and down. His breathe shutters against your neck as he pulls away. You wish he didn't.
"Thank you, Lass." He looks at you softer, brightly again. You wanted nothing more than to launch yourself back into his arms, to fill your lungs with his rain-like scent. But you can't, you wouldn't allow yourself to. It was selfish you thought, when he was the one who needed you right now. You're there for him, his anchor for tonight. He was okay, you were okay. And that was okay too.

5:39 PM.
The sun begins to set, as you can see from the corner of your eyes. If you turn around, you’ll be met with a breathtaking view of the sky sinking and reflecting its light onto the ocean water.
 But you don’t want to.
You don’t deserve to see it. Pretty things like that will disappear and they’ll never stay.
You and your boyfriend are laying on your back on the beach, legs tangling with one another as you often look to your right and sometimes the left, yet, never the front.
“Baby?”
His gentle voice calls out to you, reminding you that he’s still here.
“Yeah? I zoned out, I’m sorry.” You rush to apologize as you quickly retrieve your attention back to the man near you.
“It’s okay. What are you thinking about, hmm?” He asks, his fingers now making their ways into your hair as you let your thoughts roaming wild, eyes shooting up to the orange hue of the once blue sky that will be soon decorated by the warm embrace of the darkness in just a few more hours.
“Not anything that interesting that interesting.” You give him a small smile, reassuring him that he shouldn’t be worried about your long train of thoughts that seem to be involved in the picture of him and you. “Just think about how pretty you are.”
And you never lie about this matter.
He’s extraordinary, you’re nothing special in comparison. He has always been showered in compliments for his out of world, sharp yet such a masculine look, and he knows it too. You’re just a person who exists and you’re not sure what’s the purpose behind why you exist. You personally think only people who have star power like Eunseok should be the one to stay on this earth, to show how beautiful life can be.
You’ve seen his exes, they are all beautiful. You can’t compare because why would you compare goddesses to a person that never radiates a sense of mystery or intrigued others’ interests? You’d think they’ll be so embarrassed to be compared to someone like you.
Even if he tells you that you’re the prettiest person on the planet, you don’t believe him. How could you when you’re a plain jane, while he is the most beautiful boy you’ve ever met anyway?
“Funny, I think about how pretty you are too.” He chuckles, his eyes has a bright sparkle that you only wish to be able to witness this close. You hope you don’t lose this privilege any time soon.
“Umm hmm.” You hum, pretending to agree with his statement. “But you’re like the beach waves that are steadily rolling. You’re just so comforting.”
My beach boy, my comfort boy, something you wanted to say but hold yourself back from doing so.
He’s just one of a kind.
Every time you’re sad, you often go to the beach. It’s something you’ve been doing since you were a kid. You’re still an adult and you feel a bit childish that you’d still go to stare at the ocean waves rolling, but right now, it does nothing more than being a poison to your mental health ever since you let a pretty boy with strong features of the name Song Eunseok invades the space of your loneliness. And you begin to associate him to every little thing that you used to like.
Just like right now, you’re thinking that he is truly reminiscent of the fresh air that washes over the both of you, with the heart in the sand that you used to draw for him whenever you both get here.
He has your heart, but does he know that? Does he care that you’ll be willing to do anything for him?
Probably not. You’re happy to keep that thought hidden from him.
“Don’t think so.” He chuckles. “You know what I think of when I see you? I think of you as the sunset that people will never get tired of seeing.”
You’re gloomy, how could he sees you as the sun of his life? Or in his eyes for that matters, even worthy of his attention?
 You can’t comprehend it.
He’s so much better than you in every aspect. You think that he should’ve been with someone who is on the same level as him, not someone who has nothing like you.
You never know what love is, until you meet him. In school, there was no one who had ever shown their interest in you, but you supposed that it’s better than to be heartbroken at the realization that the love someone gave to you was merely because of a bet.
You always kept your head down, afraid to meet people’s eyes. You’re timid, meek and shy because you never feel like you fit in. Even the people in your family, they’re all charismatic and charming, except for you who is not at all an interesting character to think about when they ask about your family.
You think you're a pretty forgettable person to others.
“That’s you.” Your eyes lock onto his face, observing how a person can be this beautiful. God indeed has favorites, and your boyfriend is one of them. “You’re the most beautiful person I’ve seen. You’re as beautiful as the sun that shines during winter, to keep someone warm.”
It’s true, you’ve always felt like the walking embodiment of overwhelming loneliness since birth. And Eunseok is your sun who provides warmth into this stoic, cold life of yours.
For the first time, you are able to see the world in more than just two colors that you’re so used to being familiar with, black and white. You see a variety of colors in its glory with his love, but you’re not sure if his love is out of obligation or not.
You begin to love yellow, aside from chronomatic colors that have been your favorite colors growing up. It’s because it reminds you of Eunseok. He is nothing but sunshine, the brightest star that shines amongst the crowd of people like you.
You remember that you didn’t particularly like yellow as much when you were younger. You didn’t feel like it suits you— it belongs to happy people, special people like Eunseok. You wonder, how could someone born and carry something special since birth already? Was it made or was it a practice to enhance the exquisite god given gift?
You sometimes resent god for making you a boring person with no drive and easily moldable into whatever they want you to be, instead of being distinctive.
You want to be special, heck even feel special, just for a minute like him too.
 What does that feel like?
It probably feels nice, being loved for simply who you are.
“I know you said I’m like the beach waves, but personally, you’re like the ocean. You’re unpredictable, but very calm, beautiful and breathtaking.” He maintains eye contact with you. “You really remind me of the color blue. You have a kind of depth to you that people would love to write about.”
 What is he talking about?
Oh right, you remind him of the color blue?
You know about the association of the color blue and melancholia. You know it means sadness.
Is that how he perceives you?
Truthfully, you think that people aren’t blind to the fact you look down all the time. You radiate off the 'damsel in distress’ vibe and you’ve been told to brighten up more. You even had people approaching you and willing to listen to your stories because you just looked so troubled and you might need a hand or a shoulder to cry on in case you had no one.
You think these kinds of things only happen to pathetic people like you. You personally don’t know someone who is alike to you at all.
You have so much to say, but in the end, it’ll all boil down to you being lonely and miserable.
You always feel so blue, can he feel it too?
 Why can’t you be happy?
“You always say these things.” You try to avoid saying that you don’t believe it, because it’ll show that you don’t believe in yourself as much as he always told you that he has always been so amazed by him. “I see myself as a dessert.”
“Whatever you say, cutie.” He shakes his head. “But in my opinion, if you’re a dessert, then I’d rather die of dehydration just to be close to you.”
You know that it’s supposed to be a compliment, but you don’t feel like it. No matter how much he tries to flatter you, you don;t ever feel like those compliments ever get through your head and soak into your brain.
 You’re not enough.
And you know that he’s too good for you.
You believe that you’re truly a dessert, there’s nothing that excites people about you. You’re just someone who is meant to be in the background, not someone in front of the camera, not someone who attracts attention from the others. If people stay around you long enough, they’ll get a thirst to seek for someone who can fulfill their excitement in being adventurous and interesting as well as striking, something you lack.
And if you’re the ocean, you’d kill people with the tsunami of your overwhelming blue-esque. Nobody should put up with you, but he does. You don’t understand why he stays around with the way you’re like an unpredictable ocean wave that could make others fear for their life.
“Baby?” He mutters out softly, seeing you losing yourself in your train of thoughts. “Let’s get up. It’s getting dark. I want to walk around this beach with you.”
You don’t notice that the sun has been long gone and has been replaced by the moon now, but you supposed that you’ve always been quite a daydreamer. You’re flustered however, as you sit up, using the support from one of your arms before you can stand up, then you dust all the sand that attaches itself onto your clothes.
“Let’s go.” He smiles at you, and for a moment, your sadness vanishes like the air that brushes itself all the way from thousands of miles away to softly blow his hair, making him look almost so dream-like.
You think you’re so special that you’re the only person whose person he directs this smile at. And you’re the cause of his happiness just as much as he is with yours.
He takes a slow step, you follow along. He takes your hand in his, then grip it tightly, like a sweet cotton that is inseparable that never wants to let go.
You see some shops start lightening up their place, as you’re visiting a tourist attraction. However, you can’t help but feel like it’s just the ghost of Eunseok who talks to you. And you might be seen as crazy for holding onto an imaginary man.
Then you’re back to being sad again.
Because no matter how real he is, you feel like you’re holding onto a version of a man that doesn’t exist at all, or a version of a person who you might’ve made up in your head.
What if he doesn't love you as much as you do with him?
It’s funny that you’re probably in an unrequited love in this relationship, maybe.
You know about the kind of love that people all shared throughout their lives. However, you can’t be too sure about the feelings that he has been upholding for you.
“I love you.” His eyes land directly into yours, gazing deep into your soul, as if he tries to read you.
You suddenly feel terrible for your earlier thoughts and equally as self conscious.
And you almost wanted to cry.
“I love you too.” You say, eyes almost brimming with tears and it takes you a crazy level of self amount to not break down in front of him.
And you mean it. You mean every single word that you respond back to him.
This beach is your sacred place. You introduce him to this place because you make a room for a boy named Song Eunseok in your heart, a place that is just as sacred as this place you’re standing at. It’s very vulnerable and you’d hate it if he walks out with your heart in his hand, squeezing it until it explodes and bleeds uncontrollable and the memories of the beach waves rolling as you both walk by the shore, admiring the view under this moonlight.
This love itself is very sacred too, and you hope that he’ll continue to love you for a long time as much as you love him.
Because you know that there’s no other room for any man who comes after him anymore.
