#the brother's one-on-one time is kinda uneven sorry :((

Note
ik you just put out be alright with luca- and this idea is kinda similar
but a hughes sister who’s going to be a freshman this year, and she’s feeling lost because all her brothers are scattered. like luke had her at home, but she doesn’t have anybody
my brother wouldn’t admit it until the grave but if i left he’d be sad
i feel like jack, luke and quinn probably kept how much they missed each other pent up and figured reader would do the same and were not expecting how hard it hit her
cause she’s even more alone than they were, and it’s not like it’s her job like it was for j,
home, 4386
Tumblr media
“hey, y/n/n! how was your first week? know it’s been busy for me but i miss-“
“lukey,” you sobbed into the phone, hyperventilating and hardly being able to see anything
luke’s eyebrows furrowed on the other side of the phone, stomach dropping with worry.
“y/n? where’s mark, or dyl. anyone home?” you’d grown particularly attached to mark during his and luke’s freshman year, so during the summer it was decided that you’d get mackies old room in the house so that he could watch over you
quinn had lectured him, jack followed his behaviour all summer, corrected things he didn’t like, and luke dug into him for two straight years about how he’d entrusted him with you whenever one of he or one of his brothers weren’t around
“i don’t understand how you all did it,” you blurted, ignoring his question and taking a deep breath, jaw hurting from how hard you’d been clenching it
“are you at home, are you safe?” it was jack, sounding alarmed
“yeah, rowdy,” you whispered, being able to have both of them bringing you a little comfort. you tried to take a few more deep breaths, but it was like your throat was closing
“where are the guys?” luke cut in, restating his earlier question
“i took- i took a bus, to the lake house. i’m sorry, i-. m’ sorry, i needed home, but it’s not.. not home, you’re home,” jack and luke shared a look, concerned for their youngest sister
“miss you so much. how did you- how?? i feel like i’m a chore to the guys, i don’t have anyone, i need you,” they could hardly understand you, your low tone and cries muffling your words nearly beyond comprehension
the boys couldn’t truly answer the question. jack had never been at school. his rookie year was tough, but he wasn’t balancing class, and you and luke were always visiting
on top of that, he’d been anticipating it since he was young
luke had you. you were in michigan with him for the majority of the time, at a nearby high school.
you had hockey, on top of class, and none of them were nearby. visits would probably be limited, cause the all star break was hardly a break for them.
it wasn’t like last season, when you could fly up with luke every once in a while to spend the night and soak up time with jack.
quinn had been calling you every day, notably your most protective brother. you didn’t want to make him feel like his efforts were for nothing, so you didn’t tell him how you were feeling.
“i can barely skate, i’m not producing, i got a d on an assignment from history of mich sports. i’m falling apart without you,” you rushed out, sniffling harshly to try and clear your airways
“i’m so lost,” you finished, your head thudding against the wall you’d been leaning on.
“it’s gonna be okay, y/n/n. i’m gonna call mark, yeah? he’s like a fourth older brother, he’s got you. he’ll come pick you up and j and i are gonna call you every night. quinny can join too, we’ll facetime. he’ll see you next week when he’s in detroit, and the devs will be over there in no time, i promise,” luke soothed, jack silently agreeing
“ok?” you wiped your face, breathing still uneven
“ok,” you whispered,
“i love you, y/n/n.”
“i love you too, moose. n’ i love you, j,”
“love you, mini, get some rest on the way home for me, and call mamma, alright?” you smiled at the nickname, one he’d given you when you guys grew into your playing styles and he deemed you a copycat
you mumbled a promise into the phone and let them hang up, hugging your knees to your chest.

do you think we could maybe have the Gang’s reactions to the reader coming into work after having spontaneously cut their previously longer hair the night before? I swear I’m one listen to brother by kodaline away from doing it
please, and thank you
STOPP THIS IS SUCH A GOOD PROMPT BC IVE DONE THIS BEFORE multiple times.
yes I absolutely can
The Gang's reaction to reader impulse cutting their hair shorter!
CW/info:Gn reader! Sfw!
Characters: Reagan, Gigi, Andre, and Brett (I'm sorry Myc and Glenn lovers idk how to write them at ALL)
Tumblr media
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Brett:
- barely questions it tbh?
- not that he doesn't have any questions, he's just more concerned about how you're feeling rather than how your hair looks
- LISTENNN he's been friends with so many people in college and high-school. Most of there reactions to an emotional break down was cutting their hair or dying it impulsively
- After you reassure him you're doing fine and that it was just a spur of the moment thing, he's just very supportive! Says it looks very good on you!!
- even offers to help you style it bc he 100% owns like 15 tubs if hair gel
Reagan:
- Tries really hard to mind her own business and not be rude by asking but you can just. Feel her staring at your hair every 5 seconds
- "If you're gonna ask, just ask."
- "what the fuck happened to your hair?"
- YOU EXPLAIN IT WAS A SPUR OF THE MOMENT THING OK???
- YOU WERE LISTENING TO MUSIC. YOU WERE IN YOUR FEELING AND U JUST KINDA. Snip snip yknow?
- she honestly can't judge you because she's pretty sure she's done the same thing when she was drunk before
- gives you a shitty little comb and tells u to at least try and brush down the uneven ends so it looks normal and offered to take you to her place after work
- she's not a professional or anything, but she can do something basic to make it look good. (Like have u seen her hair in the wedding episode... it's so cute)
Gigi:
- the moment she sees you she's like "OH MY GOD NOOO😭"
- You worry she doesn't like that it's short. She assures you it's not the fact that it's short, it's the fact that you impulse cut it in the messiest way possible
- drops everything she is doing to give you the cutest make over ever.
- actually makes you feel even more confident than before about your new appearance??
- she tells you next time you want to cut your hair to TELL HER and she will always find a way to make it work. She wants you to be happy!♡
Andre:
- ok be real he probably cares the least bc his hair care routine is just like. The generic shampoo and conditioner and wash. No styling or anything
- so if you walked in missing like half your hair from the lower half bc you cut off he'd just be like "!! Nice cut!"
- might just impulsively walk up to you and start petting your hair without saying anything. He just wants to see how it feels
- HONESTLY... I rlly can't see him having a big reaction. He just. Does not care and would support it

Hi! How are you? Can u request one with Liam Dunbar, kinda like the same setup as Hayden at the end of s5 but instead is reader and human and Scott has to turn her bc the beast hurt her and it ends fluffy please :)
Tumblr media
‘this is the beginning’ - Liam Dunbar
trigger warning:violence, anger, angst, fluff, being given the bite, hurt, near death experiences.
requested: yes! hey, i’m sorry this took me so long, i haven’t watched s5 of teen wolf in a very long time but i have done my best to make this as accurate with the timeline as i can, i hope you enjoy!
**
you and liam had a complicated relationship, not in the way most people would think. but you’d known scott and stiles since before liam was turned, you’d known about the supernatural. and scott had begged for your help when he bit liam, since you were closer to his age then scott and stiles. liam didn’t trust you for a while after that, and with his IED, he was terrified of hurting you. which he did almost hurt you many times during the beginning, almost is the key word there. with his IED and now having to control himself, he was struggling. it had been a while now, he pretty much had full control but some days were harder then others. and considering your new found relationship, he was more terrified of hurting you then before. he loved how much faith you had in him, well in everything most of the time. you were the thing that distracted him from the horrors he sees. he loved you, but he’d never told you that..yet.
you’d been dealing with the supernatural since the beginning when it all started with scott, being his sister cause a lot more issues then needed. you’d seen a lot, from a young age. you were older then liam, but younger then your brother had his dork of a best friend. scott trusted liam with you now, which was good, and stiles was warming up to him which was also good.
**
now a whole new issue had risen in beacon hills. the beast of gevaudan. you’d all now been dealing with this for a few weeks, the current plan was unraveling, and not in a good way. the beast was in the school, obviously it was only scotts pack left since it was past 9pm. but you were supposed to stay with either your boyfriend or your brother. but somehow everything got mixed up. one minute you were with liam, the next minute you turned around and you were alone. your phone wasn’t working, you didn’t want to cause any attention to yourself so you didn’t shout out for anyone, you just carefully attempted to find someone. sneaking through the corridors until you heard foot steps, but you knew straight away they were not human. you cursed under your breath and ran to the boys locker room to hide.
you hid behind lockers, your heart was beating so fast you could feel it in your throat, would would scott and stiles do? you couldn’t think, you just hid. you could’ve shouted out to someone, with werewolf hearing they could probably find you. but that would also give your location to the beast, so you decided against it. your breathing was uneven has you heard the beast getting closer, that was when you heard the crash of it coming through the boys locker room. you saw it. it knew where you were you didn’t stand a chance.
“SCOTT! LIAM!” you screamed at the top of your lungs as the beast quickly made its way towards you, you tried to outrun it but there was no where to go. the little locker room did no provide much protection. then you felt searing pain down your back, gashes. you felt your blood gushing down your back, as you fell to the floor, the beast threw you across the room as you heard your brothers voice echoing in the room followed by your boyfriend. as everything went black.
**
once the beast had been defeated by your brother, liam was cradling you in his arms pleading for you to wake up, begging that you would be okay. scott ran over once he had finally dealt with the beast.
“you’ve gotta change her.. she’s dying scott. please!” liam begged, scott looked you over, he didn’t want to burden you with the pain of being a werewolf, but he also couldn’t bare to loose you, your mom would be a mess, scott would be a mess, liam, stiles, lydia, youre the glue you hold everyone together.
“what are you waiting for?! do it!” liam yelled, and he did your brother but your arm, the only thing now was if you were strong enough to get through this, strong enough to survive the bite.
**
you woke in your room, liam sat next to you, scott and stiles piled on the floor next to your bed dead asleep waiting for you to wake up, liam sat next to you head drooping half asleep no aware you’d woken.
“liam?” you whispered, and his head shot up straight away, his features laced with happiness he bring you into a hug smiling straight away, you winced and he pulled away apologising.
“what happened? how long have they been asleep for?” you asked, liam sighed, he’d have to explain what you now are. he didn’t know how’d you react.
“they’ve been asleep since we made sure you were okay… baby- you got hurt, really bad. we didn’t have any other option scott gave you the bite. and you’re now healing.” liam explained, you didn’t know what to say, you didn’t know how to react, your eyes filled with tears and liam pulled you into him.
“i’m so sorry.. i’m so sorry, youll get through this okay? you’ve got all of us.if i can do it you most definitely can too. this is a new beginning okay? at least scott and stiles didn’t kidnap you and tie you to a chair? that’s a good start.” liam chuckles as he remembered what happened when he had been turned. you cracked a smile at this and he kisses your forehead.
“it’ll be okay, i got you. me and you forever okay? now get some rest darling” he smiled, you nodded resting your head on his chest he gently began to play with your hair in hopes you wouldn’t worry too much about the upcoming months.
**
this is so bad, i am so sorry, i still hope you enjoyed i hate this one so much lmao. please keep sending me requests!!

Ok so, I really need to know if you have any personal headcanons on ASL brothers because I need more serotonin for the day, btw I adore your art! Lots of love 💖
Thank you so much for this request! I don't actually have many head cannons for them in their universe tbh. I do have a couple for a modern au though!
this post turned out kinda long ":)
First of all: this is them 👇
Tumblr media
Anyway,
Original universe headcanons:
-Ace is proud of his freckles. He doesn't much know what his mother looks like, but he's seen his father's appearance and knows that Rodger doesn't have freckles. So he sees his mother through his freckles :)
-despite his name, Ace is the only allosexual within the trio. I do think ace is aromantic though. I just don't think romantic relationships suit any of them, personally
-sabo cuts his own hair. I read a SBS submission asking oda why sabo grew his hair out. Oda responded saying he does to hide his scar. He said that sabo doesn't exactly see it as a badge of honor. Which makes me uhhhhhhhh very sad yuh huh. But it also makes me imagine he cuts his own hair because no one else can get it right. How I draw him, his bangs are uneven so that his scarred eye is covered and his working eye doesn't get blocked out. It looks fine now, but the first couple times he cut his hair were ✨disasters✨
Modern au:
They share an apartment and it is very apparent who's room is luffy's by level of messiness. Don't get me wrong, Ace's room is messy, but it's messy in an organized way. Unlike Luffy, who is just... Who knows if there's a floor over there. No one's ever seen it.
Sabo's room is so clean it's boarder-line sterile. It also just doesn't look lived in at all. If he invited you over and you saw his room, you'd think he was a serial killer.
Sabo and Ace both have their own mini fridges in their rooms that are under lock and key so that Luffy cant get into them. little fuckin gremlin man...
There is a tally board on their fridge that keeps track of who wins in wrestling matches that break out sometimes, much like in the show.
Sanji owns a restaurant near their apt that they always go to. The three of them have a chokehold on the "Big-Ass Bowl of Spicy-Ass Ramen eaten the fastest" title as they are currently in a three way tie that not they nor anyone else can beat.
Ace flirts with Sanji and his brothers give him flack for it, saying he's just trying to get a free meal!! support your local businesses, Ace! pay for you meal!!
Luffy always be challenging his brothers to spontaneous races and is always surprised when he inevitably loses. Sorry lil guy, they just got longer legs than you, not your fault.
They love trying new weird food. Whenever they see some kind of afront of nature that a snack-food company put out, like buffalo sauce flavored pretzels or plant based jerky, they'll absolutely buy and try it. It never goes well. Ever.
Ace and Sabo are the main Money Makers for their household. Luffy is always trying to get a job, though. Under the off chance he's actually hired though, his employment is usually terminated sometime within his first day. He's trying his best, man.
Whenever theyre having an issue in their household that they dont know how to combat, they call Dadan for advice. Kinda like those scavenger monkey themed guys from the beginning of Skypeia.
Thats all i have for now, sorry for any typo's. I could add on to this list later if I have any new ideas. i'll probably draw some of that modern au, too.
thanks again for the ask! i hope this got to you within your serotonin needing day!

Okay in fairness I do feel like some of the later deaths had better character execution (heh) if that makes any sense. Like I’m super ambivalent to Chrissy as a character but I feel like we got a lot more development for her than Barb. Which might not be an accident bc of how heavy season one is with the character tropes, Barb starts and stays relatively one note bc she doesn’t get a chance to develop/need to do anything else but exist as Nancy’s friend
I will say barb’s death has always kind of rubbed me wrong because the narrative focus on Will makes things kind of uneven like it seems like no one cares about her (except Nancy) in comparison to how much people care about will. Which is obviously necessary for the narrative but then I get to the fact that she died in the upside down even though she was there for a shorter amount of time and I would assume have a better shot as a healthy almost-adult compared to a scrawny child. But it’s also necessary for the horror movie vibes and quite a bit less distressing than will’s death would have been for a lot of the reasons I mentioned
I’m not trying to say the other deaths which were extremely telegraphed were executed better (I still think it’s the best character death*). Stranger things is just really bad at killing off characters
(*honorable mention to Billy bc I love that he died even if I don’t care for how they went about doing it)
see for me it doesn’t particularly bother me that barb didn’t get tons of development beforehand because like ….. she was there for such a short period of time yk? so if we had spent like a good chunk of the first two episodes like delving into who barb is as a person, it would’ve felt weird and not given us as much time with the plot exposition and getting to know our characters who actually live (ooo that sounded brutal sorry barb) and in typical slasher fashion, some people who die for the sake of raising the stakes and establishing danger just aren’t going to get much of a personality before they’re killed.
as for will getting more attention than barb in terms of being missing, i think it’s kinda only natural considering the ties he has to so many of the main characters. he’s joyce’s son, jonathan’s brother, mike lucas and dustin’s best friend. it makes sense that there’s more urgency and attention placed on him because we spend more time with these characters in combination than we do with nancy, who was the only one who really had ties to barb. it is a little weird that hopper doesn’t seem very motivated to find her, i will grant you that. like damn “police chief” we got a missing girl could you like pretend to care pls
it would’ve been nice to maybe explore how will survived for a week in an environment that got barb killed immediately. i guess we’re supposed to extrapolate from the demogorgon being directly behind her at steve’s place that she just….immediately was killed? whereas will had a weapon and some distance idk that’s the best theory i can come up with.
when i say barb’s death is well executed, i mainly mean that it had an obvious impact on nancy. her relationship with barb carried through to the next season, she grieved, it caused conflict between her and steve, and the justice she wanted to get for barb was literally her main plotline in s2 (and jonathan’s!) whereas with other deaths like bob, fred, EDDIE!!!!!, etc the characters they were close to barely react. there’s some sprinkled in mourning for bob, dustin gives his fake ass speech about eddie, fred literally gets nothing from nancy at all, but barb’s death was realistic in the way it affected nancy. i think st’s main problem right now is that the stakes feel so incredibly low. like yeah someone could die but they’ll probably just come back to life, and if they don’t ….. oh well ? our characters won’t be that broken up about it ?? s1 and 2 just did a great job depicting grief and how the absence of a loved one is all consuming and not something that can just be brushed off. s4 is extremely lacking in that area

The Scavenger and the Forgotten, Part 2: Something Like Safety
Previous
Summary: While taking shelter in an abandoned apartment on their way to escape a war-torn dome colony, an alien tries to be a good caretaker to a rescued lab subject. "Tries" being the operative term.
Content: Hurt-comfort; post-captivity recovery; nonhuman whumpee; conditioned whumpee; nonhuman caretaker; reluctant caretaker; hand whump; past mouth whump.
--
Clee returned to the now-formerly abandoned apartment with the promised food and clothing a couple hours later.
"Coming in, so you'd better have a towel on or something," she called out, rapping on the door before abruptly entering. The door made an alarming squeal that she didn't remember from the first time. At least, she thought it was the door. "So you're prolly gonna be swimming in these, but at least they're clean," she said, dumping a bag of clothing out onto the table. "Better big than small, ri -- uh. Radu?"
The former lab subject was curled up in a ball on the recliner, sopping wet but no cleaner for it, still dressed in the now equally-drenched uniform she'd found him wearing. One yellow eye peered out at her, wide with surprise and terror.
How does this guy not know how to take a shower?! was her first thought.
Then she saw the flecks of blood on his hand and sleeve.
"Alright, what happened?" she asked, pulling over a battered metal folding chair to sit a few feet away from Radu. Whether because of the noise or her approach, he shrunk back further into the chair and away from her, flinching like he was expecting her to hit him. "Hey. Hey, it's only me. You know, Clee? The person who you were asking not to leave like two hours ago?" she said, exasperated.
"I'm sorry!" Radu blurted out. "It was only… I only did it twice…!"
Clee blinked, her antennae quirking up in confusion. Apparently begging and making alarming out-of-context statements was just his way of saying hello. "You only did what twice?"
Radu looked away, reminding Clee of nothing so much as her brother's incontinent old fliluk every time the sorry creature had an accident on some handmade item or other. This guy did sort of bear a resemblance to it, now that she thought of it, just with less --
Clee reflexively grimaced, hissing sharply with an intake of breath, as Radu finally, reluctantly, extended his webbed and weathered hand toward her out from behind his knees. It was streaked with mostly-coagulated blood that had been flowing from clusters of uneven puncture wounds.
"I tried not to," he said in a quiet voice, turning his face toward her but looking at the floor. Blood dripped from his mouth onto the beige carpet. "But if you have to, to, to take another one -" Clee wouldn't thought his body could have become any more tense until it did just then, and his voice pitched higher as he continued - "will you at least give me something to eat first? It's been so long now…"
Clee was a hair's breadth away from putting something together that she very much didn't want to think about. "You can eat, but before anything else we're cleaning those out," she said, gesturing to the bite marks. Radu's shoulders sank in disappointment, but he nodded meekly.
"Good." Clee responded with her own nod and got to rushing around the apartment to dig up whatever would work for this. Of course the former occupants didn't leave any medical supplies, and of course she hadn't thought to get them on her shopping run. Finding workarounds and shortcuts was what she did, though. And it helped keep her mind off the kind of problems that she couldn't do anything about. Like Radu's entire life, from what she could tell.
The previous residents had thankfully left behind a few washcloths, some soap, a bowl, and a single bottle of alcohol so shitty that not even civil war or displacement had made it appealing. She filled the bowl with water and set out her equipment, such as it was, on a small tray table that she placed near the recliner.
"This is kinda gonna suck," Clee admitted. "If you'd rather do it yourself, that might make it easier." Too late, she remembered his failed attempt at a shower, and thought that this offer might not have been the best idea, however much she would've preferred it.
Radu seemed to agree. After a moment of staring at the items in front of him, he reached for them, only to pull his uninjured hand back and shake his head mutely.
"Okay, let's get the worst part out of the way first." Clee opened the bottle, frowning as Radu pinned his injured hand down to the table by the wrist with the uninjured one, shaking despite his attempts to remain utterly still. He was looking down at the injuries intently - unblinkingly, even - and repeating something she couldn't hear or recognize under his breath. "Ready?" she asked, causing him to startle and abruptly go quiet. "It's gonna sting in three. Two. One…"
She poured the alcohol over the first few bite marks and waited for the inevitable flinch, whimper, or yelp of pain. But there was none. Radu was completely silent and still, staring straight down at his hand, and looking like he was trying not to so much as breathe. When she soaked the second set of bites, a twinge of pain made it into his expression, but he stayed quiet. She'dve thought that his reaction would be a nice change from his panicking about literally everything, but it actually worried her more.
"Alright, take a breath, then I'll wipe these out with soap," Clee said, using her gentlest, or least impatient, voice. "You're doing really well here. Just a few more minutes, and then… our food should still be mostly warm."
Whether because of the praise or the promise of food, the old genmod stared at her with immense gratitude, eyes wide and a hesitant smile on his face.
Clee returned it uneasily. "Let's finish up, yeah?"
Delicate wipes, light, careful dabs. That was what she'd been going for. From Radu's reaction, though, it was clear she hadn't succeeded. If anything, cleaning out the bites seemed to bother him more than disinfecting them. He kept squirming, nearly jerking his hand away from her. At one point, she unthinkingly reacted to this by grabbing him tightly before he could pull away, her long, uneven nails digging in to his fleshy wrist just short of drawing more blood.
Radu froze immediately, and when Clee looked up, he had a look like she'd gone and kicked him in the face.
Well, fuck.
She loosened her grasp immediately, though she didn't quite let go. "Look, I didn't mean to do that," she told him, sounding sharper and more defensive than she'd intended. Unsurprisingly, Radu didn't relax even the slightest bit. She sighed in frustration with herself. "I just… I got impatient. And I shouldn'tve. I'm sorry, okay?"
She wasn't really expecting that to count for anything. But the look of terror on his face faded into something like confusion.
"Why?" Radu asked, finally.
Clee blinked. "Why what?"
"Apologize. To me," Radu clarified haltingly. "She never apologized when I made her mad, and. And she had to…" He swallowed.
It took Clee a moment to remember, or at least guess, who he was referring to. She shrugged. "Unlike some people, I don't pretend to be perfect. Or knock people's teeth out," she added with a grimace. She immediately wished she hadn't been right about that, let alone said it out loud, as Radu's shoulders went tense and he pressed himself back into the cushion of the armchair. "See? There I go, screwing up again."
Radu looked down. "She… perfect, I don't know. Maybe n -" He couldn't manage to say that last word out loud, and instead swallowed. "Miss didn't do anything I didn't deserve," he finished quietly.
"Okay, but you see how that's fucked up, right?" Clee asked, exasperated. "Not just doing… that, but then blaming you for it. And then making you call her 'Miss' on top of that? What was this lady's real name?"
She couldn't stop digging herself deeper here, it seemed like. Radu squirmed and made a whining sound, grabbing at strands of his dirty hair and pulling at it, his eyes looking back and forth as if trying to make a decision. Or come up with an answer at all.
She sighed. "Never mind, you don't have to answer that," she said, much to his obvious relief. "Either way. I'm not going to hurt you. Or try to, anyways."
Radu nodded, though Clee wasn't sure that he actually believed her on that.
"So. I got maybe three wipes left before I can bandage you up. You ready?"
He nodded again, and extended his injured hand while continuing to pull at his hair with the other one. He made no sound, though, and managed to stay all but completely still as she finished cleaning out the wounds.
Only then did Clee realize she hadn't found anything that could serve as bandaging. She made one last pass, hoping for some clothes or a bath towel or something that could work. What she did find… her own clothes had probably been cleaned more recently, and that was saying something.
So that left her own clothes.
As she took off her coat and roughly tore off the sleeve of her shirt, Clee consoled herself with the knowledge that she'd soon be able to replace them. She hadn't even had to sell off any of the Lycadone vials yet, after all. Just one of those could get her something nicer than she'd worn since she'd left home.
"You don't have to - !" Radu protested, realizing what she was doing.
"Too late for that," Clee answered, wrapping the strip of makeshift bandaging around his hand and wrist carefully. "Here, before I tie it off… too tight?"
Radu flexed his fingers a bit, but took his time to answer. Finally, he gave a slight, uncertain nod.
"Got it," she said, and loosened the bandaging until he could comfortably move them. It made for an awkward fit over the webbing between his fingers, but there was only so much she could do, and he wasn't complaining. He was, though, still visibly anxious, not having completely unfolded himself from his curled-up position or stopped tugging at his hair with his other hand. He was watching her closely, warily, even as she backed away a few steps.
"Still not gonna punish you or anything," she told him, doing her best not to let frustration creep into her voice. "But yeah, I brought back some Wonguun food. Those guys don't have any teeth, so it should be fine for you. Let's see, they have a microwave… I can heat it up for you if -- Iiii would not eat that fast if I were you," she cautioned, as Radu readily took the box from her hand and tore into the food inside.
He wasn't listening to her, though. Oh well. His funeral - hopefully not literally, but even so, she figured there were a lot worse ways he could've gone out. She shrugged and sat down at the table, gesturing toward another chair as she did so. Radu looked a bit startled, but quickly nodded and slid onto it. The thing still looked uncomfortably small for him even after what he'd been through, creaking under his weight, but he didn't seem to notice, focused as he was on the food.
Even at room temperature, the food burned. Shit. Most places laid off the spices when it came to their Girn customers, believing they couldn't handle it, but the diminutive food cart owner had not. Unfortunately for Clee, she fit this particular stereotype. She hissed in discomfort.
Radu, for once, didn't react to her displeasure, or even seem to notice. He was still shoveling the stuff into his face, and after a minute or so she had to assume that the spice wasn't even registering with him.
"So did you eat anything in the last, what, six months or so?" Clee asked after watching this for a couple minutes.
Radu paused and looked up at her, wiping his face self-consciously as he shook his head.
"They really do build you guys to survive anything, huh," she said.
The enthusiasm immediately drained from his face at the thought. "Not everything," he mumbled, shaking his head again. "And some of us…" He stared blankly at the chunk of sauce-coated food he'd picked up for a beat and then swallowed it, almost reluctantly. He closed the takeout box, and slid it back toward her.
No explanation, of course.
Then again, why was she even curious? She'd be dropping this guy off at the first genmod guerrilla outpost she came across. They'd have a better sense of what to do with him.
"Glad you got to enjoy some of it, at least," she finally said to break the awkward silence, ignoring the burning in her tongue and forcing herself to eat another bite of her own dinner. "And the rest'll be there for breakfast. Hells, you can even have the rest of mine if you end up wanting it."
"Thank you, Miss Clee," Radu said quietly, tremulously. "Really. Thank you."
"Eh, it's really no problem," Clee brushed him off with immense awkwardness. "And it's just Clee, got it?"
He nodded, looking down with a muttered apology.
She sighed. "It's not -- I'm not mad at you, okay? It's just…" she stopped herself before she could say weird or uncomfortable, knowing he'd respond in a way that made this more of both of those things. "No need to be all formal with me. It's just Clee, no 'Miss' anything."
"Clee," he repeated, then added, louder this time, "Sorry."
Nope, still weird and uncomfortable.
"Anyways. I'm off to sleep. And since you've claimed the recliner there -" she glanced over at the still-damp chair - "the bed's mine."
She felt a little bad. After all, when was the last time this guy got to sleep in a real bed? Had he ever? She didn't feel bad enough, though, to sleep in a chair that smelled like unwashed genmod.
"You can have the blanket," she conceded reluctantly, removing it from the bed and tossing it on the recliner. It wasn't all that comfortable anyway, she told herself.
This was more than enough to make Radu happy, though. He reached for it slowly, as if she might yank it away at the last minute, then took it in his hands, feeling over the texture as he stared at it with an expression that could only be described as reverent. After a moment went by and she did not in fact take it back, he wrapped himself in it tightly with a stream of "thank yous."
"It's not like I don't have sheets," Clee said, cutting him off as he made a bee line for the recliner, curling up in a ball again under the blanket and rocking slightly back and forth on it. "Hey, you know that you can make the chair fold out, right?"
There was a slight movement under the blankets that she assumed was a nod, accompanied by yet another, now muffled "thank you."
"Suit yourself," she said before slipping under the sheets and turning to face the wall next to the bed. "Also, before we leave tomorrow, you're taking a real shower."
Radu gave an indistinct response that sounded like agreement, then went quiet. The chair continued to rock behind her with a steady flow of two-toned creaks. She thought about telling him to cut it out already, but that wasn't really what was keeping her awake.
Where was she actually going? She'd been so excited about finding her ticket off this hellscape of a moon, and so caught up in taking care of today's other unexpected find, that she hadn't really thought about it much. And she felt… dammit, she felt scared.
What, was she supposed to go back to Girn now? When she'd first been dumped off here, that's all she'd wanted. But with her luck, she'd go home just to find her town wiped off the map, replaced by some stupid overpriced resort for their colonial overlords, and her family disappeared into one of the network of detention camps spread out through the occupied territories. Or she could head down to the southern capital like her cousin had, getting a job with some handsy minor lordling who made sure to lock away his valuables every time she showed up.
No thanks. It was better to stay a xeno in human space than to go back to being a kriv, and worse yet a halfbreed, on Girn. She wasn't inclined to believe the sunshine-and-rainbows version of life on Earth and Mars she'd heard over the years, but if even a quarter of it were true, it'd be better than this. And with her half-decent, if heavily-accented, Sol Standard and enough money to pay a bribe or five, she could make it work. Or survive, at least.
That was a tomorrow problem. The chair had gone still, replaced by soft snoring, and with at least some semblance of a plan, Clee felt herself drifting off too. Soon enough, she was dead to the world, undisturbed by the now-familiar sounds of gunshots, missile launchers, and crumbling concrete at dawn, let alone her new roommate's terrified whimpers and squeaks in response.
She was vaguely aware of the warmth, though, when a heavy blanket draped over her and soft, squishy, slightly shaking arms enfolded her tightly against the body they belonged to. At least in sleep, this felt like the part of home she still missed.

(Hi, me again. I’m back with the fun facts.)
I’m going to scuttle up to Remus and climb up the wall until I’m eye level with him. Hey there, I’ve not spoken to you directly yet and that is a tragedy so I’m hear to fix that. Did you know that humans can bite through their fingers with the same ease as biting through a carrot?
Sketch
As soon as Remus saw you he grabbed you by the tail and held you above his mouth to swallow in one whole bit. Right before, he recognized you though and pushed you back onto the wall. He petted your scaley head to say sorry.
"Hello tiny-miney" He shone up when heard your fact and clasped his hands excitedly "I do actually know that!! I'm a bit of an expect of human biology if I may brag! Muhahah! I've seen the Thrones do that finger thing a few times!...Thrones are like....the demons who do the whole hell agony thing....they're like prison guards I guess. Ugh, my dream job!"
He was laying on his bed in the bedroom of his and a few other succubus squadrons. It looked a bit like sleeping quarters of a military space. It was all bunk beds lined up against the bright white walls. The room was big and yet with the amount of beds and the amount of stuff littered over the place it still managed to feel crowded. There were no lights. Once it got dark it got dark.
His brother slept on the top bunker and she took up most of their space as well. She had pushed in as many boxes under the bed as she could fit to keep her collection of human souvenirs and clothes. The rest she had in a storage room on earth. Remus only had his stack of food and tiny collection of human media with demons in it. Including his signed copy of Dante's Divine comedy. And an octopus plushie. He liked plushies. Emile had introduced them to him.
Remus held out his arm and let you climb onto it before cupping you in his hands. His long uneven claw like nails scratched at your head while he met your eyes.
"It's kinda empty in here y'see? I think everyone's over at Emile right about now. It's the end of the month, we gotta tell how many people we've seduced so Emile can like write it down and send to the managers y'know? Em's the accountant. Nerdy lil accountant guy. Filled with very bloody organs. I think he would look amazing if he got squished like a bug."
He fell back onto the bed and you noticed how cold his hands were. Despite the general warmth of hell he felt like a corpse. His nails had gone purple as well. If you focused you could feel the blood pumping under your feet, his pulse was slow.
"I don't wannnaaaa go tell Em. A bunch of succubi are gonna be there and everyones gonna look at me weird and Em's gonna be all sweet to me and well meaning and i hate his pittttyyyyy. It makes me wanna chew bones!!!"
He squeezed your cheeks while rolling over onto his stomach. He gave you big puppy eyes while his tail flickered back and forth. You noticed that his horns were the only warm part of him. They were vibrating with red hot light.
"You're cute and squishy, wanna go on an adventure with me?" He sniffed "You're not from earth are you. I can show you earth! And how we demons travel there! Or we can go annoy Remy!....Or" he rolled his eyes "If you insist I guess we can go to Emile like I'm supposed to"

Hi! If you're still doing the character bingo, may I ask for Oliver or Lena? Ooh, or Caitlin! (Sorry if that's too many!)
I'm still doing this :D It's a lot of fun and a great excuse to keep rambling about all my blorbos.
Alrighty, first up is Oliver Queen:
Tumblr media
Oliver Queen, the guy who started it all. We wouldn't have the Arrow-verse without him and even when I want someone to smack him hard enough he gets an amnesia arc, I'll always have a special place in my heart for his character. But he's got... a lot of issues he needs to work out. And he desperately needed to stop losing character development from one season to the next. How many times can a guy learn 'keeping secrets is bad' and promise to do better and then the following season start keeping secrets again.
I'm not a fan of Olicity, but I like a lot of the other popular ships for Oliver. Including Barry/Oliver. Which amuses me so much since their comic book counterparts seem to barely tolerate each other at best.
I think my biggest problem with Oliver, though, is that the writers didn't really understand the comic book character. They wanted Batman, they couldn't have Batman, they picked another rich, white, cisgender superhero with a dramatic, globetrotting backstory and... what makes Oliver Queen an interesting comic book character ended up getting lost. But the best example of the show writers not understanding the character is that comic book Ollie says 'fuck cops' and show Ollie says 'lets join the cops' in the final season. *waves hands dramatically* What the hell, show writers???
Now on to... Lena Luthor!
Tumblr media
Lena deserved a better family. So much better. And she deserved to be treated better and trusted by her friends too. Imagine how much better it would have been if Lena had known from, say, late season two or early season three that Kara was Supergirl?
(Okay, so was Lena's plans during the front half of season 5 not good? well, yeah. Do I care? Nope. She has trauma about being manipulated by the people she cares about and about uneven relationships and was massively triggered. She didn't actually end up going through with anything nefarious in the end and chose to continue standing up against her brother.)
The fact that the excellent chemistry between Lena and Kara was never fully capitalized on really sucks too. Those two deserved to kiss on screen. Like... I remember there being genuine reason to think that might be where the show was headed for the series finale and the sheer frustration that there was no follow through even on the very last episode. *sigh*
Last, but not least, Caitlin Snow:
Tumblr media
So Caitlin Snow is aspec. She's ace-spec and aro-spec and I am completely right about this. I will not be taking criticism at this time. (Or ever.)
Okay, so aroace headcanons aside, Caitlin is very much a character with wasted potential. And she's kinda complicated in fandom spaces, which I'll talk about first. She was one of the show fandom's first female non-Iris ships for Barry. Which is understandable. Iris was dating someone else (whom she had excellent chemistry with), Barry's actual girlfriend that season is Wally's wife in the comics, and Barry and Caitlin's friendship was rather sweet. But some fans were propping Caitlin up by tearing Iris down. And while most people pushed back against the racism by blaming the people being racist... I've also seen the occasional push back in the form of people insisting that shipping Caitlin with Barry is inherently racist. Fandom can certainly be a wild place, that's for sure. (That all aside, I actually prefer shipping Iris with Caitlin. Which is generally a safe fandom niche to be in too.)
As far as Caitlin's wasted potential on the show, see the season 4 retcon. Season 3 ended with the implication that going forward Frost was a mix of Caitlin pre & post powers who would spend the next season finding herself and rebuilding Caitlin's relationships with Team Flash, but on new footing as the person she'd become. And S4 wasted that set up. While having Frost as a separate character was interesting and the dual characters really let Danielle show off her acting range... it was still incredibly jarring to go into S4 and realize the parts of the S3 finale (and the season at large) got chucked out the window. And, honestly, the last time Caitlin had an interesting character arc was when Icicle was still around. I was hoping the return of Ronnie promised in season 8 might draw me back to the show, but the fact that the show reverted to 'throw love interests at Caitlin but she's still hung up on her dead husband' characterization for her was... not a draw after all.

I know you reblogged that Choni gifset days about, but Cheryl didn't fake thinking her brother was alive to scare Toni? She was brainwashed in a cult into thinking she was talking to Jason, when it was actually just his body, and she spiraled/had a mental breakdown and continued to talk to his body. She did try to make Toni think Jason's spirit was haunting the house when Toni tried to get rid of him before she was ready for an ep, but it was not fake, she was mentally ill.
anon i’m so sorry that season was wild i literally just remember cheryl admitting to gaslighting toni and in general that was just a dark era for choni shippers bc toni was like, not allowed to speak whatsoever
literally i forgot what happened that season all i do remember is toni being scared for cheryl’s mental health and then cheryl once she fooled her weird estranged relatives, admitting she was fine? like also faking a suicide too considering at one point she was actually suicidal but most of these antics being to get her estranged family to leave thornhill and stop taking it over. like i swear i’m not pulling this out of my ass correct me on anything i haven’t seen the show in a while after s5
like i believe riverdale has since improved in its representation of mental illness but more particularly w betty than cheryl, but also there were times betty and cheryl who were clearly untreated in their mental illness symptoms (intense fear of abandonment, despair, anxiety, intense anger etc,) were kinda,,, revered for it? like the whole “dark betty” thing was betty’s anger issues not being treated and posing harm to herself and others. and then there were times i felt cheryl was incredibly toxic and hostile toward toni in their relationship, but this was because cheryl had no mental health resources and toni was her only source of support, but that,,, the answer ras gave was having toni literally only in the show w nay a syllable uttered unless cheryl is also in a scene w her, until vanessa morgan said something along w the pay gap
like that time toni admitted to feeling suffocated in thornhill bc she felt like she could never leave or be independent, then cheryl lashed out at her even tho it’s been explained since the pilot that cheryl is both a product of her environment and has gone thru immense trauma of losing jason so young and having no adequate parental figures. like in a lot of ways even accidentally, toni relying on cheryl just for shelter just puts her in a dangerous situation is kinda an example of what can occur in a toxic relationship w uneven power balances. like i think choni was set up in a way where ppl who aren’t the closest can form beautiful, healthy relationships w a little effort but that choni was somehow cheated?????

Easily Replaced | part 3
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 4
Tumblr media
Kaz Rietveld didn't need a reason.
You knew this, of course, as you always had, but it was most clear the day you, Jordie, and Kaz stepped foot into Ketterdam. The two brothers were, as long as you’d known them, ambitious. Ketterdam would fuel that ambition.
"For you, Sankta." Jordie Rietveld laughed, and covered your eyes with his hands.
He was thirteen—much too old for you, as you were only eight, and though you were teased back in southern Kerch for hanging around with him so much Jordie was something like a brother to you. Your own parents were gone—your mother a woman who died too young and your father a mystery.
"I thought you were getting me food." Kaz scoffed, plucking the wrapped omelette out of your hands before you even had a moment to see it.
"Kaz!" You shrieked as you tore out of Jordie's grasp, lunging for the food, but Kaz simply laughed in return, looping his arm around your shoulders and tugging you along, sharing the omelette between them.
The omelette stands in Ketterdam were Kaz and your favorites.
"(Y/N), wait." Jordie called and you paused, turning to glance over at him. His expression was wide and happy—the happiest he'd been in a long time, since he and Kaz's father had died. "Welcome home." He said, and you smiled.
"WAIT!" You yelped, lurching into sitting position so fast your head spun.
He was there, you thought, still blinking away the image of Jordie from behind your eyes.
Your heart raced and your eyes stung as you stood, scanning the streets several stories below you. You’d fallen asleep on the window pane after sneaking into your room at the Slat—if Kaz wanted you gone that night, you’d be gone by morning just to spite him. If only so you had more time to snoop around.
You weren’t expecting the dreams again.
You wiped your hands over your face and sighed, blinking away the remnants of sleep and forcing Jordie to the back of your mind. Jordie Rietveld would always stay in the very back of your mind, in the dregs; you’d think about him only during your last breath, and wouldn't let yourself do it one moment before then.
You crept out of your room and glanced around its interior once more, hefting your satchel over your shoulder. You’d miss this place—you’d miss Ketterdam, but if leaving helped keep certain memories at bay and kept a certain someone from bashing your head in it was worth the risk.
Your feet were silent when you finally dropped to the streets outside and ran, taking back-ally's and fire-escapes and rooftops as you traveled across Ketterdam on a route few knew. Your mask was pulled up and your hood rippled behind you, your shape merely a black speck against the moonless sky.
When you reached the Crow Club you ducked the guards and snuck through a window at the top. If there was anything to be known about the heist for one million kruge the Dregs had been murmuring about, Kaz would know about it. And if you were anything you were vengeful, and you’d get that prize to earn your freedom or you’d die trying.
"The Orchid isn't Dime Lions turf." Kaz's rock salt voice reached you and you paused, one foot sinking into the plush carpet of your old friend's office.
"Well, it's a new acquisition." Another voice purred, and your blood ran cold.
You knew that voice.
That voice had haunted you for years.
"You heard it here first." The voice continued, and you dropped into a crouch, tugging your hood over your head as you crept towards the office.
Your heart dropped into your stomach.
Kaz was being held on his knees by a nondescript man with a sneer on his face while Pekka, Pekka Rollins, clutched Kaz's cane like he owned it. Your stomach rolled as you took in Pekka's face and you barely stopped yourself from gagging.
It was him.
It was the man who killed Jordie.
"Now, I know you saw Dreesen," Pekka continued, oblivious to the assassin hardly ten feet away who was contemplating his inevitable death. "You got the jump on whatever job he has. I don't know the details...obviously, just that you have a little travel hazard ahead of you. So. Here's the deal: you can do nothing—walk away from it. I'll tell Dreesen I'm taking over for you." He paused, a cruel smile on his face. "Then we're even."
"Not even close—" Kaz began, and you tensed. You knew the man holding him, touching him, was causing him agony.
You had to stop it. You had decided long ago that Pekka Rollins' death would be slow. You could make it last for hours—could make blades sing until he was nothing left but a scrap on a table, but something fast might have to do.
"The other option is..." Pekka began, leaning forward to press the beak of Kaz's cane against his jugular, and you lunged. "I'll cave your head in with your own—"
"Let go of him." You snarled and, quick as an asp, had one of your many blades nestled dangerously against Pekka's throat.
Kaz let out a sharp breath and tensed as the man holding him pulled out a gun, pressing it to his temple to balance the odds.
"Sankta Riipka," Pekka mused, seemingly unaffected by the knife against his neck. "it's nice to finally make your aqu—"
"Shut up, pig." You spat and dug the blade in deeper, your eyes snapping up to the man next to Kaz. You felt steel against your head and froze—
—you’d forgotten about the other member of Pekka's trio.
"By the time you kill me," Pekka began, oozing calm that made to your blood boil, "my friend here will shoot your friend. And then you." He made to twist in his chair and you tightened your grip, stilling him. You knew you were drawing blood. "You ought to make the wise decision here, Riipka."
"Let him go." You repeated, heart pounding violently, refusing to look at Kaz even as you felt the gun against the back of your head push harder. "Let him go or I swear on all Saints I'll slit your throat right here."
The room was quiet for several beats before the man holding Kaz shoved him, knocking your friend—was he your friend?—to the floor. You made no move to remove the knife—your chest was tight and your breathing uneven. Jordie's face was flashing behind your eyes and this moment, this moment, killing Pekka, was what you had been waiting for.
You could do it.
Why couldn't you do it?
You could—
"Stop." Kaz breathed and you froze, meeting his stare. His face was serious but his eyes—they were filled with pain. "Just stop."
"You should listen to Mr. Brekker." Pekka crooned and your gritted your teeth, biting back a snarl as you removed the knife and swung, knocking the gun out of the man behind you’s hands.
He threw his arms up and froze but Pekka simply laughed, eyeing you like you were a monkey at a circus. You felt small and, for the first time in a long time, like you were eight years old again, sweating with a burning illness and being sheltered by a widow who had no kids of her own.
You felt like you were eight years old, managing to survive the plague and stumbling down to the docks, half-drunk with a barely broken fever and finding Kaz laying drenched in sea-water on a dock, screaming at you in agony.
It was Pekka's fault.
It was all his—
"No one has to die today, Riipka," Pekka smirked at whatever he saw in your eyes and brushed past, chuckling to his accomplices as they left the office and slammed the door behind them.
The room was silent for several moments before you turned, watching Kaz as he stared at the floor, making no move to stand.
"Let me help you—" you began, reaching out to offer a gloved hand but he jolted, deer-in-headlight-eyes flashing to yours.
"Don't touch me." He snapped, face flushing, and the knot in your throat threatened to burst.
He pushed himself awkwardly to his feet and scrambled for his cane, one hand absently on his leg as he winced. It was terrible to watch—he was strong all the time, and so serious but this...
...this was him broken. And you weren’t sure if you could handle seeing it.
"I should've killed him," you started over, hands trembling as you resisted the urge to reach out to him. You didn't know if you wanted to help or if you just wanted, needed, his touch. "I should've—"
"You should've been gone by now." He swallowed roughly as his cane hit the floor with a thud, eyes snapping back to yours. "I had it handled. We all could've died tonight because of—"
"Don't you dare blame me for—"
"Well if you had just left when I asked—"
"I'm not leaving you!" You shrieked, yanking off your mask and hood so that you could breathe better. "You can boss me around and yell at me and treat me like Jordie was my fault all you want but—"
"I don't think that," he interrupted, his face stricken as he stared at you. "Saints, (Y/N)." You were silent for a moment, both breathing heavily, before he shook his head and turned away. "If you're not going to leave me alone, at least leave the Club. I can't—" he paused, sighing exasperatedly. "I can't deal with this tonight."
Without waiting for a reply he strode out the door and shut it, locking it behind him so you’d have to leave out the window. You waited for several moments until you were sure he was gone, strode over to the spare couch around the corner and screamed into the pillow until your throat hurt.

Springtrap
Yandere
Male Reader
Part 1
Sitting in the black swivel chair, you spin once or twice before coming to a stop, grimacing at the feeling of sticky floors beneath your shoes. This place is brand new, how the hell are the floors sticky?
Actually, on that note, how is everything so covered in dust?
Sighing, your mindless fidgeting comes to a stop as the phone, just as dinky as the walls around you, begins to ring. You pick it up but put it back on the table, eyes drifting to the laptop and swing-out tablet. When you flip the former open, you note the four buttons, each relating to something you would have to reset when it comes time to. The latter has cameras that are scattered around, including a separate tab for vents. There’s an option to block off vents, which sends a chill up your spine as you glance to the big ass one at your side.
You decide to block that one off for now.
Humming, you familiarize yourself with the layout of the place, deciding to ignore the shadows that crept through your vision.
Your unenthused eyes scan and take in everything. The replicas (you had seen the originals, and they were permanently stained with both the smell and color of pizza sauce and lawsuits) that were in and around the office, as well as the little bobbleheads that sat on your desk of the animatronics, which were, for some reason, human? You boop the one who you assume to be Freddy, hearing the familiar squeak.
A small smile comes to your lips.
It was at this time that you realized you had completely ignored the man on the phone, but you couldn't really bring yourself to care.
The little drawings that were put up were authentic; not just anyone could recreate what a child's mind spits out and decides to draw.
That Freddy looks a bit fucked up.
The posters were cutely designed, and after getting the gist of what everything was and how everything works, you were on your phone the rest of the night.
When six strikes, you casually leave, giving the building a quick once over as you leave the doors, locking them behind you.
If every night is going to be like that, this is going to get boring.
-
He’s stuck.
This suit traps him like a rabid dog, eager to stay gripped onto his neck.
Still, things would be changing soon.
He can feel it.
He can feel it as a fresh breeze, the first in many years, hits his nostrils, sending a wave of euphoria through his system. The bloodied musk that hung in the dank room was not a pleasant one.
He can feel it as his body accepts this new host, more and more, until soon, quite soon, he will become one with his vessel.
Just as the animatronics before him did.
He ponders.
Why was he being freed from this prison of his own design?
Is he being taken somewhere?
Will there be a night guard to terrorize?
A grin takes to his broken lips as he ignores the pain and blood that comes from them. Oh, a night guard! Truly, that will be a sight!
He can't wait.
For now, however, he must play dead.
My, that voice that shouts with excitement from behind him…
It sounds so familiar.
"Bring the truck around!" He calls. "I found one, a real one! It's got the rips, the weird colors, and what I am going to assume is pizza sauce! Ohohoh man, I hit the jackpot with this one! Fazbear's Fright needed something, and here it is!"
His congratulatory tone made the man within the suit want to throw up. Finding him was nothing to be happy about; he is despicable, incapable of redemption, and an awful being.
And you know what?
That's just the way he likes it.
So to have someone happy to find him, especially for their own purposes?
He won't let it stand.
Yeah, if this place has a nightguard, he'll kill them without mercy before burning the entire thing to the ground.
Might as well make it fun for himself.
As light peeks through, clearly originating from a flashlight, he feels his pupils shrink, resisting the urge to let out a groan as his weak eyes ache from their decades of being in the dark.
"Whoahoh! This one looks gnarly!" The same man as before speaks, probably referencing the organs and tendons that were showing. "C'mon, let's get it up!"
His grin only grows as two people lift him onto a dolly, beginning the move.
Goodbye, saferoom.
And hello, Fazbear's Fright.
-
Humming, you walk into the building, skimming over the decorations once more before noticing something.
The papers that had fallen onto the ground from before, they had dirt on them. Not surprising on its own, but when they were in the shape of tire tracks?
You decide to follow them, using your memory of the cameras to guide you through the building, which was already rather linear anyway.
Entering the last area, you could see a rather dilapidated animatronic suit, with organs visible and its fur matted with blood. Real blood. The old Springbonnie suit was nearly green from how old and dirty it was.
Your eyebrows raise. "Is that guy just stupid or did he knowingly bring in a suit that has a dead body in it?"
Honestly, you didn't care. "Eh, whatever. It'll probably start moving when I start my shift… I've heard those rumors about the other locations." You turn, stretching, unaware of the eyes that followed you or the head that turned your way.
Damn, does he want to kill this one?
Well, he can think it over more soon. After the merge.
He grins again, feeling his uneven, gouged skin begin to flare with pain.
You exit the room fully, making your way back to the office with all the urgency of an ADHD-riddled person doing laundry.
Which is to say… not much.
You fall into the chair, cursing as the thin mesh cushion does nothing to protect your tailbone from the metal frame of the chair. The phone rings not a moment later, you picking it up and laying it on the table again, eager to ignore it just as you had done before. You stretch again, arms raising above your head as you begin to flip through cameras, finding the rabbit in the same spot it was in before.
You yawn.
Hopefully it starts moving soon, or else the entire reason you took this job would be unfulfilled.
You were bored, and you remembered this place from the times you had gone with your younger brother, who was now in his early twenties. You, however, were 28 years of age, with nothing better to do than 'investigate' the Fazbear's Fright that opened up. Still, if that rabbit has a corpse in it, it should make things more fun.
As you lazily flip through your cameras, you set it down and look to the side, seeing a rather dirty looking man with an eyepatch and fox ears. To his confusion, before he could lunge at you, you reach out and swipe a hand through his chest. You continue to swipe forwards and backwards, the incorporeal man stuck standing there until you leaned back.
"So, you're a ghost."
His mouth opens as if to retort, but he just gives up and leaps at you, you not even looking at him anymore. He closes his mouth halfway through the jump, and with an unsatisfied sigh, he disappears.
You continue flipping through the cameras, checking in on the rabbit a couple of times before shoving the tablet out of the way, opening the laptop to have it ready and sitting back in your chair.
You glance towards a shifting figure in front of the window, the hat and bear ears telling of who it is. He limps along, eventually falling beneath your view before seemingly phasing through the wall and leaping at you. You stare passively as he does so, him not completing the jump to instead stand in front of you, confused.
For shits and giggles, you wave your hand through his chest once or twice.
"Why… aren't you… scared?" He croaks, voice ruined from years of no use.
"Oh, was I supposed to be scared?" You genuinely ask. "Uh, sorry. If you do it again I promise I'll hyperventilate."
"Don't try to… lessen your survival chances…"
"Okay. My bad."
He sighs, and after annoyedly rubbing his face, he disappears.
You flip out your cameras once more, finding the screen obscured by static and a small error in the center. Lazily, you reset cams.
When your screen clears, you check the rabbit. He looks… strange. Like his body is evolving in front of your eyes.
To be honest, you don't give enough of a shit to watch a potentially world-changing discovery if it looks that gross. You aren't paid enough to, anyway.
At this pay grade, you even coming into the damn building is volunteer work.
You check your phone for the time, seeing a cool time of one in the morning.
"Aside from that science experiment gone wrong happening in the back room, it's still really damn boring."
However, it's still not boring enough to watch that transformation or whatever. That corpse (well, at this point, you kinda doubt it's dead) can do whatever the hell he wants with that suit. It's his body, not your business.
After another fifteen minutes of staring at a wall, you check the cameras to the sound of loud clicks and pops, now seeing a heavily scarred man with 1.5 rabbit ears in place of the suit. He takes one step out from his original spot, body heaving forward before he lifts himself up, looking up at the camera with a grin.
"Huh. That's new." You say, watching him jolt forward, continuing to take steps before relearning how to walk smoothly.
It only takes him a moment to rocket off.
"I doubt that's good." You mumble, beginning to flip through the cameras to follow him before playing a sound in the room behind him, making him pause. He turns, walking back with a confused expression.
Continuing to flip through cameras, you watch as the man, who you'll dub Rabbit Guy, wanders, seemingly having lost his focus. Hearing a sound to your left, you pay no heed to whoever it is, instead waggling your hand in what you would assume to be their torso.
"You're strange…" They say.
"Uh-huh. If you'd excuse me, I am currently working on keeping Rabbit Guy the hell away from me." Your voice is monotonous but sincere; you aren't trying to be sarcastic or mean, just trying to tell them the facts.
Glancing to the side, you see that it was a child, so you were waving your hand in his collar. "Oh, my bad. Does that… make you guys uncomfortable?" You ask, retracting your hand.
"No, we can't feel it."
"Huh." You blandly respond, playing the sounds to lead Rabbit Guy back to where he started, before resetting sounds as you weren't able to play them anymore.
It seems like Rabbit Guy is getting progressively more and more annoyed at being led back, if his attempts to move fast enough to avoid the sounds or block out his ears meant anything.
His body was responding to the sounds, not him.
It was then that he disappeared, so you check vents, finding him in one that led directly to the room beside your office.
You block it off, much to his annoyance, before yawning and sitting back as any thumps you hear from inside the vents come to a stop.
You find him standing in the room where he had entered the vent, irritated as he glares at the camera. Preemptively, you reset all, thankfully right as cams and sound go out.
Sighing, you lazily check through cameras, brows slightly furrowing as you look for him. He was completely gone, not in vents or in rooms. It really is unfortunate how many blind spots and shadowed areas there are.
When you hear the thumping of the vents, you search through them, only finding a stupid knick-knack laying on its side halfway in your sight.
Looking to your side, you peek into the vent, leaning down to see if anything was there. Your gaze meets Rabbit Guy's.
"Shit." You say, quickly switching cams over to this one and holding down the seal button.
Your eyes shift back to him, finding him way too close for comfort. As you lift your finger to let the gate close on the vent, the man (who was crouch walking) catches it, forcing it back up. You hear something grind that definitely shouldn't be grinding, and you have a feeling that that vent cover just might be broken.
Getting out of the vent, he stands over you, waiting for some sort of plea or… literally any response at all.
"So, you, uh… come here often?" You ask, leaving him genuinely at a loss.
"Wh- was that a pickup line?" His rough, baritone voice catches you slightly off-guard.
You weren't expecting something that was pretty much a zombie to have such a good voice, or a slight british accent for that matter. "Was it? Shit, more people've flirted with me than I thought."
"Really? That's all you can come up with before your death? I'd hate for those to be your final words." He lightly teases, leaning against the wall with a mean grin.
You look up at the ceiling with a vague smile, his eyes widening momentarily. "To be honest, of any place to die, I'd much rather have it be in a place where I know I'll reach the front pages than in some random alley."
His grin falls into a frown as he watches you turn to him, the smile still on your face. It feels strange.
He feels strange.
Why does a random night guard make him feel so…
So… comfortable?
You were calm, collected, not making any sudden moves or even attempting to exit the chair. Theoretically, the perfect prey, but not a satisfying kill.
If he even wants to kill you, that is.
“What’s your name?” He asks, watching as you spin to face him in your chair. You would be taller if you stood, but he would still have a few inches on you.
“Y/N. You?”
“I’m… William. Or, rather, I was, when I was well and truly human.”
“And now?” You ask.
“I don’t exactly have a name.”
“Can I still call you William, then? Well, if I live long enough to do so?” You ask, eyes moving up to meet his. Looking up at him like that… He wishes the hot feeling in the pit of his stomach would go away.
“...Fine.”
“I mean… are you going to kill me?” You ask, face not shifting as he glares down at you.
“I won’t kill you on the first night, you need to give me more entertainment.” At least, that’s what he told himself.
“Oh, so we’re both here for the same reason.” You blankly say, his face contorting from a glare to confusion once more.
“You’re here… for entertainment?” He slowly asks, answered by your nod.
“I’m certainly not here for the pay. This place gives like half of minimum wage but I can’t complain about it because the other part is supposed to come from tips. Somehow.”
“How do you even live?”
“Well, right now I’m on an paid leave due to some unfortunate deaths in my family. To be honest, I never really cared for any of them, but hey. I’ll take any chance for a break I can. Then I got bored.”
He huffs out a laugh. “So you went to another job on your break?”
“Listen, getting a month off leaves a man with little to do when capitalism has left me with no hobbies. Besides, this gives me a great excuse to continue avoiding people.”
His lips curl into an amused grin as he leans forward, lowering his head to be eye level with yours. "Well, you won't be avoiding me." He practically purrs, you averting your eyes at the tone he uses.
Why would he say it like that?!
His golden eyes follow you as you close the laptop's screen, enjoying your reaction. You…
He'll keep you around.
You're entertaining and friendly. Open, and… warm.
He wonders.
You're human, and fully alive. He's a revived corpse who merged with his vessel. You probably are very warm compared to him.
When he comes back to his senses, he notices you slowly raising out of your seat, hand outstretched towards him.
Well, might as well take the chance.
He grabs your wrist, looking down at you unimpressed. You quietly huff, falling back into your chair and forcing him to move away from the wall in order to not dislocate your wrist.
Well, his hypothesis is correct. You are very warm.
He feels the tightening in his gut, not wanting to let go but knowing that he will have to.
You, however, don't actually care either way. You begin your attempt again, this time with your left hand. Slowly raising out of your seat, you actually manage to stand fully up before he notices again, grabbing your other wrist.
"What are you even trying to do?" He asks, a light sneer on his lips.
"Well... uh, I was trying to… boop your nose? If you're bonded with one of the original suits, then I figured either you or Fredbear would have the sound effect."
He lets out a few short laughs, his sneer replaced with the same amused grin as before.
"I'm afraid neither of us have the sound effect. That only came about with the second and third generations of animatronics."
You hum, interested.
His eyes quickly scan over you, taking in your form. This position, practically holding you hostage… Needless to say, he didn't dislike it.
Still, he releases you as he catches you glancing at what he assumes to be a phone. Things have advanced quite far since he was trapped.
You turn it on quickly, checking the time. “Well, we have around an hour and a half before my shift ends, so…” Pausing, you check the time again. An hour and a half?
He steps closer, you glancing back up at him before leaning back as he leans forward, looming over you. “Tomorrow, you best make this more fun for me. I’ll greet you, but then I’ll head to the back. Try and stop me from getting in.”
“Uh, sure. Are you still planning on making the punishment for loss, uh, death?”
His eyes narrow in coordination with a widening grin. “That’s for me to know. You either figure it out, or you don’t. It all depends how well you play.” His gruff voice slightly echoes in the mostly empty building, you nodding in response.
“Oh, cool. Can I tell my brother about you?” You ask suddenly, him quirking a brow as he stares down at you, easily at least half a foot taller than you. He was always tall, but now that he’s in this new form, he grew to be somewhere from 6’6 to 6’8. You sit down once more, exacerbating the height difference.
“Feel free to. Just know that if he ever comes around here, he won’t be alive for very long.”
“I doubt he will. He’s always preferred Foxy the most because he has taste, but-”
“Taste? For liking that liability-strewn fox? You like him as well?”
“To be honest, I never really liked any of them more than the other. I was in my emo phase when I went to see them, so it was practically illegal for me to like anything. But Foxy had sharp teeth and a wicked lookin’ hook, so… I guess I did.”
He hums, clearly slightly annoyed.
“Are you jealous that I liked the fox more than the rabbit that isn’t even the same generation as you?”
“I really should kill you.” His irritated expression shows the truth to your statement.
“It’s okay, I’m willing to call Springbonnie my favorite.”
Now, William was confused. Your tone… you weren’t joking. You were being genuine about something as stupid as this? What is with you?
“You’re very confusing. I think you joke, and then I listen to your tone and you’re genuine. But still, I wouldn’t mind if you did so.”
“It’s not nearly as confusing as how time passes in this place. It’s been like ten minutes since I met you but the clock says like three or four hours have passed.”
“What? Really?” His brows furrow as he steps closer, finding another excuse to close the distance between you both as he leans over the chair, seeing you pointing to the screen. “How strange…”
“Yeah. It doesn’t seem like tomorrow’s hunt will last for six hours, then. Thankfully.” You sigh.
“What, do you not want to feel like my prey for six hours straight?” He grins, leaning over further until his arm rests on your shoulder.
You shiver. “Why do you have to say it like that?”
“Because it makes you react, obviously. It’s entertaining to watch you squirm from something as simple as... the tone of my voice.” Of course, in order to prove his point, he does exactly what he did before, lowering his voice a few pitches and upping the growliness of it.
In covering your eyes, you also cover your cheeks, which have gained a slight flush. “William, I am begging you. Please, please, please, stop talking like that.”
And, naturally progressing, he was left somewhat stunned by the sound of your pleading tone. There’s just something about it, especially as you say his name, that makes him want to…
...makes him want to chase, and capture, and possess forever.
You as his prized prey, and him as the hunter.
“I’ll use it when necessary.” He vaguely answers, watching your head droop.
“I’ll take what I can get.” You concede breathily.
He chuckles, hearing the chime of a bell, signifying 6 in the morning. "Well, I suppose I'll see you tomorrow, then. Don't keep me waiting."
"Asshole. I won't." You turn your head away from him, hiding the flush on your face, and stand up, stretching. "See ya, William."
He hums, eyes tracing your form as you stretch. It was a nice view, watching the button up shirt crease around your back as you stretch, clearly hinting at the muscle beneath. His eyes did drift lower once or twice, and that's how he figures out that damn, you have a really nice ass!
You begin to walk out, and he follows you with his eyes, watching you turn past the replica Freddy husk and unlock the door, exiting into the fresh morning. His eyelids droop, gaze slipping up as his lips curl into a wide grin.
“Y/N… I won’t kill you. Especially not when I’m presented with such an ample opportunity to make this into something so entertaining.”
Well…
Is that the only reason?
Of course, he knows it isn’t.
His grin falls, leaving him coldly leering at the aged panels above him before his sight shifts back to the room around him. As he exits the office, he glances at the stained and shaded glass of the door, not allowing much, if any, light in. He turns away, heading back to where he was originally.
As he walks, he lets his form shift, feeling his body grow to his previous monster rabbit self, the creaks of his metal joints loud in the silent building.
He ignores any shadows that creep in the edges of his vision, the specters traversing without sound.
“This is going to be… boring.” His voice, far rougher than before, comes out unfeeling and croaky. As he returns to his previous position, slouching over once more, he decides to use his old tactic to pass time; inflicting enough pain on himself to fall unconscious. It doesn’t matter if his dreams are infested with darkness, nor how much he suffers in them.
It was better than the boredom of sitting in one position with an unchanging environment.
He begins forcing his muscles to flex and strain within the suit and pull against the beams they have welded to, making him grit his teeth before the searing pain fades away, along with his vision.
Goodnight, Y/N.
-
“Yo.” You greet your brother, the man tiredly yawning as he ruffles his hair.
“Heya, Y/N. What’re you up so early for?”
“Well, I got bored and got a night shift job at this dinky little horror attraction opening up next week. I decided to tell you about what happened there before I head off to sleep.”
“You got bored during a break from your job so you… got another job?”
“Y’know, William said the same thing.” You say, your brother narrowing his eyes at you.
“A coworker?” He asks.
“Eh, not quite… he is the reason I stayed up to talk to you, though.”
He hums, walking around the couch you were splayed on with your shirt half unbuttoned.
“So, to begin my tale, you remember Freddy’s? The pizzeria with the animatronics?” You question.
“Yeah?”
“Well the horror place I went to is based off of that; it’s filled with replicas and a few actual things from the pizzerias of the past, but something came in tonight that was… different.”
“Which was?”
“An animatronic. One of the originals, Springbonnie. Granted, the suit was ripped to shit and covered in enough dirt to be green, but it was authentic. It even has the dead body! Well - not so dead body, but still visible.”
“Did you call the cops?” He asks, worried.
“Hell no! I’m not paid enough to give a shit about what could-or-could-not-be a dead body. Either way, he transformed into a human, which was rather odd, but-”
“Just to be clear, this rabbit had a dead body inside and transformed into a human, and you don’t question it?”
“No. Continuing on, he got into my office and then we talked for a bit, I learned that his name is William, time passed really weirdly, and then we struck a deal where I have to keep him out of my office or I'll maybe die.”
“You’re still going back there?! And ‘maybe die?!’”
“Yeah, he said the knowledge about whether or not I die from losing the hunt was ‘for him to know.’ I didn’t question it further.”
“You know, Y/N, sometimes it feels like I’m the older sibling. You’re fucking stupid.”
“I’m well aware.”
He leans over the couch, glaring down at you. “Then wisen up and quit that damn job.”
“I’m good. William is good company.”
“He threatened to kill you!”
“And? He hasn’t. Yet.”
“You infuriate me, gayboy.” He says, stepping away from the couch.
“Cool. I’ll sleep here for now, when you get back from work I’ll definitely be up.”
“Whatever.” He waves his hand at you, ignoring the middle finger pointing his direction from behind the couch’s back.

Can I ask for the batsiblings reaction to Damian pacing so much he wore a hole in the floor? Doesn't have to be a fics, maybe headcanons?
Sorry for the rather long wait. Kinda wanted to make this a fic
Here's the floor pacing fic
On Ao3 here
--
Alfred hadn’t outwardly reacted to Damian’s obvious lie as to why he had paced the floorboards uneven, but the butler absolutely took action for amending the tripping hazard in the boy’s room. With the floor repairman on the line and a measuring tape in hand nothing was amiss, of course.
Dick had already kept him up-to-date with the gossip about the two Titan birds, so Alfred hadn’t been surprised whatsoever. His position in the family meant that he’d watched the awkward budding romances of most everyone who’d called the Manor home. Damian being frustrated at his feelings for a teammate was nothing compared to a (very grown) Bruce being moody after Selina rebuffed his kiss while ‘on the clock’ or Dick’s increasingly creative attempts at sneaking around with Kori before the ‘no dating metahumans or aliens’ rule had been lifted. Honestly, watching the pun-laden flirting that Steph ladled out to both Tim and Cass on a near daily basis was more awkward than his youngest ward taking his repressed emotions out on the floors.
Unfortunately for Damian, the butler arranged for the floor repairman to show up during the day. Most notably, the repairman arrived at exactly the specified 1:35 p.m., not wanting to be late when called upon to fix anything belonging to Bruce Wayne.
Why Robin had believed that (like everyone else in Gotham) this worker would be fashionably late, he didn’t know. What Damian did know was that he hadn’t heard Grayson open the door. Nor had he heard his brother head up with Alfred and the repairman into his room. And he especially didn’t hear as Alfred slyly mentioned that he believed Dick’s gossip was coming to a head, if the worn path in the floor meant anything.
No, Damian heard none of it. Not when he was busy brushing BatCow and making sure that every square inch of the barn was properly ventilated so she couldn’t possibly overheat in the approaching summer weather. So when the youngest Bat stalked into the Manor, he’d been all but ambushed.
It didn’t take a detective to realize why he’d been pacing so much. Even without Alfred’s confirmation, it was unlike Damian to avoid going back to the Titans early if he could help it. Batman hadn’t looked up when Robin had elected to stay another week when they were in the BatCave, but his siblings sure had. And while Bruce didn’t outwardly ponder about how intense things had to be for Damian to go out of his way to avoid a certain someone, this new information had Dick positively enchanted at the prospect of his baby brother being in love.
“I’m not in love with Raven,” Damian hissed out.
Jason snickered as he reclined in his seat, his face full of mirth at the flustered crack in Damian’s voice. Cass was sitting upside down with her legs resting on the couch’s back, her smile wide as she took in her youngest brother’s irritated, embarrassed body language (nevermind the barest hint of an actual blush on his face when vehemently denying any feelings he had towards his fellow Titan).
Babs’ smile was wide and cheerful as she pointed out, “Who said anything about Raven?” Duke perked up from his spot next to Cass, immediately adding on, “Yeah, Dami. We thought you were just falling for her?”
Steph snorted, “Falling over those footprints in the floor, more like it.”
Tim laughed behind his gulp of his coffee, sleepily (and loudly) drawling out to the blonde, “A Robin and his Raven. Guess you can say they’re a real pair of lovebirds, huh?”
Damian glared at them all, fighting the urge to pinch between his eyes. Why were all the Bats at the Manor? Shouldn’t they be on patrol instead of bothering him?
Jason clicked his tongue and rested his arms on the table. He met Dick’s gaze, saw the way his older brother’s eyes brightened up with mischief and scratched at the streak of white in his hair. Deciding that messing with Damian was by far the most fun he’d have in the Manor that morning, Jason asked, “So, Lil’ D… What’re you gonna get your girlfriend? Can’t come back empty handed.”
“She’s not my--”
Babs interrupted him, nudging Tim with her elbow, “Do not tell me he wasn’t planning on getting her anything.”
Steph lazily rested on the chair’s edge. The blonde leaned over to rest against Jason’s shoulder, her fist pressed to her face. She gnawed on the inside of her cheek; it wasn’t likely she’d be much use for knowing how Raven would want to be wooed. She had heard of her but she had yet to actually meet Damian’s mystery crush, after all. She let out a hum, “What does Raven like? It’s gotta be something personal!”
Damian clicked his tongue as his siblings were suddenly oh so chatty at Spoiler’s suggestion, their unwanted ideas filling the room.
“What if he paints her something?”
“Doesn’t she like old books? Maybe one of those first editions that Alfred was thinking about donating last year?”
“Wait a sec-- Dick, isn’t she goth? B did get that set of obsidian jewelry at the last gala.”
“Hell, if we’re going that route I’m sure Selina has some nice rings somewhere--”
“Maybe something that isn’t stolen, Tim.”
“Just be honest with her.”
The room went quiet at Cass’ simple instruction. Still in her Orphan suit from her early morning patrols and reclining in her inverted spot on the couch, the brunette somehow kept a serious face as she stared at Damian upside down.
Seeing that no one was going to add-on to her suggestion, Cass blew some of her bangs out of her face and shrugged, “You like her for a reason.”
Brown eyes slyly glanced around the room, gratefully falling on Babs as she piped up, “Cass is right. I really don’t think Damian of all people would fall for someone who’s all about dating mind-games.”
Ignoring Damian’s exasperated lie of “I haven’t fallen for her!” in the background, Steph slumped down on the couch next to Duke. Her face was contemplative, “Then maybe we should invite her here?”
Dick let out an excited laugh the same time Tim clapped his hands and grinned at their resident computer whiz, “Babs could absolutely get her up to speed on patrolling Gotham for a bit, right?”
The redhead looked excited at the idea. Pushing her glasses further up her nose before they fell, Babs teasingly asked, “What is it about Gotham and bird-based superheroes?”
Duke shrugged, a hand cradling his chin in thought. “Not sure, but Dami obviously won’t confess if we’re not around to kick him into doing it.”
Jason clicked his tongue at the possibility of the youngest Bat listening to them and raised a brow Dick’s way, “Any chance at all that she’ll make the first move?”
Irritated at the topic, Damian turned on his heel and retreated to the kitchen. Ignoring the chorus of “C’mon, Dami” behind him (and planning on fighting Todd later for the childish boos that the antihero was aiming at his back), Robin set about grabbing some snacks for his pets when he heard two sets of footsteps approach.
He bit back a groan as Dick practically skipped into the room, Cass on his heels. “What now?”
Nightwing let out a laugh at his brother’s sneer, “You do know that we’re only trying to help, right?” He took a few pears from the fridge and handed them to Damian, knowing that they were BatCow’s favorite. Hearing as Cass opened the cabinet doors to find where the rawhide bones and cat treats were stored, Dick pressed on, “I know she already knows me but it might be easier introducing everyone as a segue into talking to her about other things…”
Cass let out a quiet snort at his suggestion. She shook her head and offered a better idea, “Alfred first.”
Dick tilted his head, nodding in agreement a moment later. He ignored the violent way Damian was cutting up the pears and said, “That’ll probably be for the best. Living with the Titans is one thing; we gotta ease her into our particular brand of madness.”
Tossing aside the stems and peeled off stickers, Damian sulked, “None of this is necessary.”
Cass hid her smile with her hand. Dick hummed out, “You don’t want your girlfriend to meet your family?”
“She won’t be my--” Damian couldn’t say the potential title just yet. He clicked his tongue, “Just because you all think I have feelings for her doesn’t mean she’ll reciprocate.”
The older two visibly paused at his words.
Her head tilting in concern, brown eyes studied Robin for a moment. Damian glared at Cass but she ignored him. Dick leaned against the wall, the worried furrow in his brow betraying his nonchalant stance. He spoke out the obvious, “Do you really think she’s not interested?”
“She thinks I’ve been avoiding her--”
Cass shrugged, “You have.”
Damian continued as if he hadn’t heard her, “--so I doubt any feelings she may have towards me are positive right now.”
Dick let out a hum, “You didn’t answer the question.”
Ophan’s suit somehow didn’t shine in the kitchen’s fluorescent light as she crossed her arms, “Yes or no?”
Damian bit the inside of his cheek. It was quiet in the kitchen for a moment as he thought over all the moments he and Raven had shared, the comfortable quiet pauses between crimefighting, training, and avoiding their teammates’ noise. She never seemed to dislike his company, but she was stoic enough that he could never tell if her heart leaped into her throat whenever she noticed that they were alone.
He suppressed a jump as Cass entered his personal space.
Olive eyes were reluctant as she poked his cheek. “You’re not stupid,” She figured it was progress when he didn’t try to swat her hand away, but she couldn’t keep the beam off her face at the boy’s blush. A hint of smugness crept into her voice, “So she is?”
“I don’t know.”
Cass looked to the Manor’s main entrance, knowing that in half a week’s time the entire structure would be full of lights, flowers and who knew what else B’s planners would bring. A spring gala with flowers and enough hidden corners for a pair to get lost in the crowd.
In other terms: the perfect setting for a first date.
She met Dick’s gaze and grinned at the knowing look on his face. His hair nearly fell out of its bun as he let out a whoop, wrapping an arm around Damian. Thoughts of finding Raven a gala-ready dress (and maybe a matching suit) in mind, Dick couldn’t keep the excitement out of his movements.
Ignoring the aggravated yet cautiously hopeful way Damian shrugged off his brother’s arm, Cass clasped her hands in front of her chest. “Only one way to find out.”

THE WAY YOU FILLED YOUR FIRST REQUEST SHOOK ME?!?!?!? YOU BLESSED US!? Would you mind also imagining how Mammon, Luci and Belphie would feel with a MC who's guarded with themselves and their feelings to avoid hurt, so they try to keep these brothers at a friendly arm's length as they don't believe the brothers don't really care about them? It would make me so happy, thank you so much!
EEEEK! Sorry for the wait. It took forever and a day to get enough time to seat uninterrupted and then try to edit ;.;
I hope you like it! Apologies if I didn’t get the prompt just right!
Mammon
He didn’t hide his disdain for his human protection duty when you first met. The fact that you kept him at an arm's length was a devil’s blessing. Good! He is a busy demon after all, he doesn’t have time for some human. At first.
Then he caught the feels and it’s all downhill for him at his ‘cool devil’ act. Not that you ever NOTICED.
He tries to flirt with you. Before you, he thought he was good at it too.
He’s never had someone so civil with his advances. You smile and laugh politely at whatever complement he throws at you. You might even give him a few back in a teasing, but clearly friendly manner.
You stress it heavily whenever he comes on too heavy with his advances. You stamp down whatever feelings he evokes and try to keep your line clean and precise in the shifting sand of your relationship.
He takes you out one evening after school, determined to get an actual answer from you over some made up snack he lied about. You don’t think anything of it, happy for an excuse to hang out. You walk and talk, not taking notice of his steadily reddening face as he keeps making swipes at your hand each time it brushes his.
You make an off-handed (get it) remark about the closeness and offer to walk behind this was bothering him.
He is miffed and throws out all semblance of “coolness”. Just flat out confess. Face flaming hot from embarrassment and sweaty palms now shoved into his jacket.
It was a blink and you’d miss it kind of moment. Mammon’s cheeks start to heat gradually. A staunch look of panic growing behind his eyes.
The words just slip off his tongue. His lips forming a sentence you were dreading. You didn’t quite catch it all; his declaration lost in the wind of the open market. You try to catch his gaze, to make him repeat himself clearly, for what purpose you didn’t know. You don't particularly want to hear it again, yet it would give you time to compose some kind of response.
He refuses to look at you. No matter which way you bob and weave beneath him, he dances around you. His face always looking in the opposite direction of yours. His gaze permanently pointing at his feet. The uneven cobblestone beneath his scuffed boots was suddenly very interesting it seemed. "I'm sorry? I didn't catch that." You ask once more, grabbing on to the crook of his elbow.
He buries himself deeper into the flipped collar of his coat and whispers it again. "I-I like ya, ok? Like like like ya know?" He stumbles over his thoughts.
Now how in the hells were you supposed to dodge this? It had been easier to evade his blatant affections when even he wasn't admitting to them. "No, you don't." You step away with a dry chuckle. "Don't be silly." You back away shaking your head in denial. You were sure Mammon could feel your heart rate picking up. You need some space, more space than the street could give you. Somewhere away from your tall, sweet, white-haired problem.
"Oi!" He makes a grab for you as you turn to flee. He spins you around leaning down to meet with you face to face. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"We are friends Mammon," You try to wiggle out of his strong, yet gentle grip. "You're just mixing up the feelings." Bullshit. With him touching you, your joint pack acted like an amplifier. You very much felt what he thought of you. The yearning from his newfound mental clarity mixes with the panic of your rejection. It makes a bittersweet taste bloom in your mouth, so hopefully yet reserved.
He was not so lucky. Your feelings felt like ash on his tongue, a sour tang of fear and self-doubt building on his sense. You were afraid of the inevitable, or what you presumed to be the inevitable.
You were supposed to be friends then disappear forever once the school year was up. Him, down here, and you back to being just another nameless soul in the human realm. No need to get the storyline all tangled. "Hey-hey," Mammon speaks in a rush. "It ain't like that, really." He coos shuffling you closer till you are wrapped tightly in his soft leather jacket. He pours more of himself into the pack, opening himself up in ways he never thought capable of from his demonic form.
"I'm stupid." You speak into his chest. The warm reassurance of his unspoken pledge soothing you. It lessens the tight feeling of uncertainty that you had grown accustomed to.
"Ah- now, ain't that supposed to be my job?" The taste in his mouth dissipates slightly as you let out an indignant huff. He flinches as you poke his side hard between his rib cage.
"Told you to stop talking down on yourself Mammon."
The demon hums noncommittally keeping you close. He rocks you both from side to side, oblivious to the throngs of other pedestrians forced to walk around you two. "Guess I forgot. Maybe you could remind me? O-on a date?"
He smiles down at the little sliver of your face and eyes peeking up from the darkness of his jacket. He could damn near feel the smile trying to break from your forced scowl. "Just one?"
"Heh- don't bet on it."
Lucifer
Welcome to the ultimate game of pleasantry chicken. The two of you know this dance by heart, but your footwork isn't synching up.
Lucifer is trying to keep this whole debacle as professional as possible. You are an esteemed guest and pact holder for all of his brothers and himself. This should be business as usual. He totally has his emotions and growing frustration at your lack of interest in him in check.
Yup. He's fine. He's great; glad you two have such an unspoken understanding of your standing in his company and in the house. The same book, same chapter, same bloody page.
You are a good friend. Just. A. Very. Good. Friend.
He breaks first. Not that he will admit it. But the weekly coffee breaks become a bi-daily thing as he tries to court you. He draws these evenings out now. Have you finished your schoolwork? No, allow me to tutor you. Perhaps you would like to listen to this new vinyl with me tonight? It is a complete demon rendition of Wagner's Die Meistersinger. A classic, you’ll love it.
You take it all in stride. Thanking him innocently enough and going along with it. You buffer every little turn of phrase and slightly off-color hint of what he wanted from you with grace. So tactfully done he begins to doubt himself. You couldn’t be misconstruing his intentions right? He hasn’t doubted himself like this in a long time.
Diavolo catches on quickly to the kicked puppy look Lucifer tots around in your presence. He’ll tease, but try to help. He’s a decent wingman truth be told. “How has Lucifer been treating you? I haven’t seen him this happy in ages. He is a great friend to have, yes?” Kinda backfires when you agree that he is indeed a good friend. Oops.
He’ll crack one night over a glass (or bottle) of something strong he pulled from his study. You had slipped into his room unannounced asking for a quiet place to read before bed.  The interruption to his musings leads to him running his mouth and pile driving his pride into the ground.
He can’t say no to you anymore. He really should. You were hell bent on keeping him at an arm's length, so he should too. Lucifer watches you like a hawk from behind his desk. His ungloved fingers swirling the dregs of his drink. The cognac inside of it looking up at him, his scowl reflecting in the rich red liquor. Don’t judge me. He scoffs at himself, was he that far gone that he was arguing with his glassware? Should have switched to the bottle hours ago.
“Luci?” You say again waving a hand in his face. “You forget to sleep again this week?” Your smile was warm, a little twinkle in your eye drawing a heat to his collar that had nothing to do with the spirits. You sit on the edge of his desk in your sleepwear. The baggy shirt and sweats reeked of his brothers.
“No.” He lies pushing his desk chair away. “Did you need something?”
You shrug hopping off the desk. “Not really. Wasn’t feeling movie night. You ok if I hang out here? It’s nice and quiet.” You slink off to the couch in front of the fire before he could answer.
“You could not do this in your room?” Lucifer snips. He tosses back the rest of his drink and rises to his feet. He grimaces at the burn spreading across his throat. “I’m sure it is quiet in there too.” He catches your eyes looking over the back of the lounge. While everything lower than the bridge of your nose was blocked by the black velvet he could feel the frown growing on your face.
“Well, yes. But I still want some friendly company. Just not rowdy company, I thought you wouldn’t mind...”
Devils. There was that word again. "You assume to know me?" He cannot hide the venom lacing his words. The liquor had dulled his senses enough that he could not hide his rancor.
“I’m-” You leave the chair coming around it to give him your full attention. This wasn’t like him. Not anymore at least. But you were used to the odd mood swings that plagued your companions. "I don’t assume anything about you Luci. But if you want to talk-"
“I don’t want to have some idle friendly chit chat.” He could feel the tantrum coming. “Have I not proven myself capable of-” His jaw snaps shut with an audible click that echoes across the spacious chamber.
“Of?”
A noticeable blush grows on his pale cheeks. “More.” He sighs deeply, he feels light-headed at the admission. Whether it was from the drinks or from going against his nature and swallowing his pride he couldn’t tell. “Am I not enough to be more than a friend to you?”
That takes you by surprise. You had speculated that he harbored feelings for you. Diavolo all but cementing the idea in your mind. But, this was Lucifer. It felt like just yesterday you were at each other's throats, before he recognized you as something other than a threat to his family. You wanted to respect that little bit of trust he had given you. “It’s not like I never thought about it.”
“But?” He perks up slightly hearing the unspoken word in your inflection. He could see your apprehension yet there was a shimmer of something else underneath. Something he could work with.
“I was- I am scared.”
“Finally, a reasonable response from being around demons.” Lucifer snorts.
“Hey! You know that’s not what I mean.”
“No, I don’t. Explain it to me.” He invades your space waiting to see what you would do. Run or stay. He would have his answer either way. You don’t move, instead, you wrap your arms around yourself. Guarding yourself yet standing firm. One of the many reasons why he admired you.
“I feel like we just became friends. I didn’t think you felt the same and I didn’t want to mess this all up.” You confess. “I just thought it would be easier this way.”
Lucifer absorbs your words quietly, nodding at the logic behind them. “Messes are not something I generally like true, but," He reaches for you, careful of your defensive stature to lead you back to the couch. “If you are willing to iron out the bumps with me I’d like to see what we can make of it.”
If it meant he could have you he would take as much time as you needed.
Belphegor
It takes him the longest to notice that you were trying to keep him at arm's length emotionally. It was hard for him to see at first since you still readily accepted his invitations to snuggle and hang out.
He thought he was very blatant with his desire for you and your affections. The head pats and evening is the planetarium or his attic.
The fact that he had apologized for that little murder mishap. He thought that was a big bright neon sign. Yet you always seemed to try to invite someone else along to chill or leave quickly after an hour or so. As much as he loved his twin and tolerated his other brothers he was trying to get you ALONE.
He starts trying to see you outside the house now too. Lunch in the cafeteria? Pffft. You are going to eat and nap with him in the courtyard. After School activities? Could you help him with some council stuff instead?
Yes, he will go out of his way to do work if you are involved.
You are still too closed off though. You act around him like you do around any of the other brothers and it drives him crazy. You are just so friendly and cordial with everyone. How come he is the only one that becomes a flushing mess now?
He becomes your second shadow, almost as bad as Mammon. You start to get an inkling of his intentions when he starts wanting to sleep in your bedroom at night instead of his or the attic. You let him but offer up the couch or split the bed with a pillow.
He snoops when he gets desperate. Did you like someone else? Was that why you were constantly acting like his advances were just him being overly friendly? He doesn’t find anything, you act like this around everyone else too.
He gives up. Stops interacting with you entirely. He is 99% sure he can sleep through the next century without being bothered. Maybe he’ll get over you by then.
“Belphie? You up here?” The demon in question opens a bleary eye to his locked door. He should stay quiet, leave you hanging. Give himself some vindictive pleasure in snubbing you.
“Hai~” He rises from his nest of blankets and pillows. “Hold on.” Unlocking the door he opens it ajar. You smile around the large stack of books and binders in your arms. “What is that?” Please don’t say homework.
“Work you’ve missed sulking up here.” You confirm his worst fear. “Satan and I thought we would spot you a bit though.” Belphegor watches you struggle for a second to pull a folded piece of paper out from the middle of the stack. “We got most of the answers done for you. Now you just have to fill the worksheets in with your handwriting.” You wave the paper expectantly.
Hearing his brother’s name makes him sour immediately. How long had you been hanging out with him now? “Thanks, leave them at the door then.” He goes to shut the door and return to his dreamless slumber but it’s blocked by your foot.
“Ouch.” You wince hopping back on one foot.
“Idiot! Are you hurt?” He wrenches the door open crouching down to take a look at your sock-covered foot.
“Nothing I can’t walk off. Though my arms are getting sore- weak human muscles an’ all.” You hint wiggling the stack in your arms. He takes the work this time, still eyeing your foot. “Relax, I’ve stubbed my toe with more force than that before.” You whisk by him, using his brief moment of distraction to slip by.
“Did I invite you in?” Belphegor eyes you with a frown. He kicks his door close and dumps the pile of papers on his already over-encumbered desk. Hmm. How many days had he missed?
You ignore him plopping down on the still warm sheets. “Nope!” You pop the ‘p’ with a grin. “But that has never stopped you from sneaking into my room. So fair trade all around.” You pat at the bed, clearing inviting him to join you. “Come on. I’ll help you finish that work then we can chill.”
Oh, now you want to hang out. He felt a rush of bitterness wash over him.  “Don’t you have something better to do?” If this keeps up he’ll need another nap, alone preferably. “Doesn’t Asmo need a shopping buddy or something?”
“What’s gotten you all worked up?” You frown, hurt by his accusatory tone.
Belphie shoots you a wounded look. "We never hang out anymore." He sulks. "Alone, I mean. I'm tired of you always inviting Beel or someone else with us."
He glances over to you idly thumbing at one of the books on his desk. It's frustrating. This game of touch and go he accidentally got himself into. Ugh- why did this have to be so hard. "I want to spend more time with you. Just us, so why are you always avoiding that?"
"I.” You look down at your feet dangling off the side of his mattress. “I’m sorry you feel that way. I just felt like- like things were going off the rails between us.” You weren't oblivious to his advances.
He cocks his head in confusion. "Mmm? What are you afraid of?" You read a flicker in his eyes, a haunting memory of cruel fingers around your neck darken his gaze. "Ah-"
"No! No that's not it!" You panic waving your hands up. Of course, he would immediately go to that. "I'm just worried. I know you like me, and-just what if things don't work out? What if you realize what a mistake this could be?"
Your admission gives him pause. So you knew this whole time? Not surprising; he wouldn't fall for someone stupid. "So, are you admitting to liking me back?" He feels giddy when you nod, covering your heating face with your hands. " Well then, what’s the problem? It’s not a mistake if we both are making it.” He grins slyly. “How can it not work out if the feelings are mutual.”
“But what if you are mistaken?” He wraps you up into his arms, flopping you both over onto his messy bed. He takes one of your hands and places it on the top of his head all while burying his nose in your neck.
“Please,” He yawns, feeling his body grow heavy. “I don’t waste my energy on ‘mistakes’.”

Gene winced when he heard his brother’s uneven breathing. Oliver sounded absolutely horrible. And it made his gut twist with guilt, even though he knew that it wasn’t his fault it still felt like it was. Taking a deep breath of his own he put a smile on his face that must’ve looked like a grimace given the look that Ava was regarding him with.
“Noll, it’s me. I’m okay Noll, I’m... I’m fine.” Gene reassured his brother quickly.
“What happened? I mean I saw... and then I couldn’t...”  Oliver was babbling, and if it wasn’t such a tense situation he would have laughed. As it was, it only seemed to make his guilt grow.
“I know Noll, I know.” Gene tried to soothe his brother, but it seemed that Oliver had gotten too worked up as the phone was passed to someone else.
“Whoever this is, you better stop now, or you will regret it.”
Gene blinked at the phone in his hand a little taken aback at how threatening Lin’s voice sounded. Honestly, he was rather unnerved. “Hey...Lin.”
“E-Eugene?” Lin’s voice shook slightly and within a moment he felt the tell-tale chill of Lin’s shiki enter the room.
“What the hell?” Ava squeaked, flinching backwards in surprise. She gave a frantic look to Gene. “Gene what did you do?”
“I didn’t do anything! And calm down, it's just Lin’s shiki.” Gene replied soothingly. It didn’t work, in fact Ava looked even more alarmed.
“You have a friend who’s an omnyoji?” Ava’s voice rose higher in her panic.
“Gene what’s going on? Who is there with you?”  Lin’s voice was sharp, and Gene flinched back in surprise.
“Ah it’s just my friend Ava--” Gene blinked at Ava’s dramatic gesturing but continued despite it. “She’s the one who saved my life.”
Ava’s palm slapped her forehead with a loud sound and Gene winced sympathetically. That looked like it had hurt. But before he could ask her if she was okay the voice of his mother sounded on the phone.
“Gene? Is that really you?”
Gene’s throat got tight at the pain held in that question. His mother sounded like she had been crying for a very long time. And he hated to make his mother cry.
“Yes mom, it’s me.” His own voice shook, and he felt his heart break as her breathing hitched and she started crying again. “Shh mom, it’s okay. I’m okay. You haven’t lost me. I’m still here, and I’m not going anywhere.”
“Oh, thank god.”  His mother sobbed into the phone. “Oliver said he saw you die but I knew you weren’t dead! I just knew it.”
Gene winced at that. “Um...actually...about that.”
“Gene what is it you’re not telling me?”
“See the thing is... I kinda actually did die.” Gene said sheepishly, his hand automatically reaching up to scratch at his still damp hair.
“What are you saying?” His mother demanded her voice growing worried.
“What I mean is that Noll’s vision was true. I did actually get hit by a car and then dumped into a lake.” He winced again, his thoughts flashing back to that horrible time filled with pain and fear.
“How did you come back, son?” His father’s voice brought him back into the present. And he realized that he had been put on speaker phone. “Did someone perform a ritual or something?”
“Definitely or something,” Gene snorted lightly, giving Ava a teasing look.
She didn’t rise to the bait. Instead, she was staring at a stretch of air next to him warily. She looked both intrigued and nervous as she stared at whatever it was that caught her interest.
“What do you mean?” That was Lin’s voice.
“I was getting to that,” Gene chided, his focus still on the necromancer in front of him. He watched as Ava slowly held out her hand, palm up, and started to mumble under her breath. “Ava what’re you doing?”
Ava ignored his question, remaining focused on something Gene couldn’t see. Suddenly a haze, the kind one would see on a hot day, appeared over her hand. It hovered there, bobbing lightly in the air.
“Beautiful.” Ava whispered her face awed.
“Eugene who is with you? My Shiki are sensing someone powerful within the same room as you.” Lin’s question drew Gene’s attention away from his copper-haired friend.
“It’s okay Lin,” Gene assured the omnyoji quickly, not wanting him to panic and attack his new friend. “They are sensing my friend Ava. She’s the one who brought me back. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be alive right now.”
“And how did this Ava do such a thing?” His father’s voice seemed intrigued if a tad wary.
“She er... she’s a necromancer and might’ve well... slapped me back to life?” Gene explained hesitantly, knowing just how strange it sounded.
“I’m sorry, did you just say she slapped you back to life?” Oliver’s voice was incredulous.
“Yes, she did. Apparently, it was ‘an accident’ and she hadn’t meant to do it.” Gene explained with a grin. “She hadn’t realized that I was dead, you see, and had only wanted to wake me up.”
“You don’t have to keep bringing it up.” Ava grumbled under her breath as she gave him a quick glare before looking back to the glowing Shiki.
"Well in any case," His mother said after a brief pause. "Please give her our gratitude. She brought you back, that's all that matters."
Gene could see Ava's face flush at the thanks and he felt his lips twitch. 'Cute' he thought before he had to fight off a blush himself as his thought registered. Then it dawned on him that he himself hadn't thanked her for bringing him back, and he felt like a prat. "Yes, thank you Ava, for bringing me back."
Ava gave him an impish look. "Oh, so now I get thanked? Only after your mother tells you to?"
Gene rolled his eyes at the teasing. Only to wince as his name was called sharply from over the phone.
"Eugene Davis, did I hear that right? You never thanked Miss Lionheart until now?" His mother's voice was unimpressed.
"Yes ma'am." Gene gave a sheepish grin even though he knew his mother couldn't see him. He ignored Ava's mutter of 'ooh busted' too focused on his mother's ire.
"That was very rude of you, young man," His father spoke up and Gene ducked his head. "I'm disappointed in your lack of manners."
"Sorry father," Gene mumbled, his hand coming up to scratch at the back of his neck.  "In my defense I was a little preoccupied with the fact that I had just come back to life."
"Fair enough," Ava snickered. She kept looking at the shimmering forms of Lin’s Shiki, and Gene wondered what exactly she was seeing, as he had never seen them before.
“Well, you will have to introduce us to your friend when we get to Japan.” His mother spoke, breaking him out of his thoughts.
“You’re coming here?” Gene asked in surprise.
“Of course, Eugene,” His mother’s tone was dry and he felt his lips twitch in amusement. “You didn’t think we were just going to stay in England after all of this did you?”
“No?” Gene said but his tone made it sound more of a question.
Oliver snorted. “Idiot.”

Albert Plots aka coda to 4x02
One of Bucks house rules is: don't barge into my room unannounced.
It only becomes a house rule, of course, after Albert inadvertently interrupts his therapy session as he's mid sentence.
"Oh crap, sorry sorry, I didn't realize--I mean, I thought--sorry." Albert finishes lamely, cringing at his own intrusion.
Buck practically chucks his tablet across his bed, face down, in his surprise. “Dude, knock.”
Albert shrugs, grimacing apologetically. “You don’t have a door though?”
Buck sighs, running a hand through his hair nervously. “Just...announce yourself next time, ok? Like, yell ‘I’m coming up’ or whatever.”
Albert nods. “Sorry.” he mutters again.
Buck decides the kid looks contrite enough that he can brush the whole thing off--it’s not like he overheard anything. “It’s ok, don’t worry, we’re good. What’s up? You needed something?”
“I wanted to see if you wanted to order pizza but um,” Chimneys little brother pauses and scratches the back of his head. “Are you ok?”
Buck gulps. “Uh, yeah, I--why wouldn’t I be?” Well shit, Buck thinks, maybe he did overhear a tidbit or two, after all...
“Well,” Albert purses his lips to one side. “What you said just now, about hiding your feelings? Sorry, I really didn’t mean to eavesdrop--I was hungry and didn’t think before running up here. But um, listen, if you ever need an ear or a shoulder,” he shrugs delicately. “You’ve been there for me before a few times now. I like to think we’re good friends, so I want you to know you can always count on me to be there if you need someone. That’s all.”
Buck would be touched if he weren’t also kind of mortified over having been caught spilling his guts to Dr. Copeland. Albert must see that, because he immediately moves to change the subject. “So, pizza?”
“Yup,” Buck clears his throat. “Sal’s is the best joint in the area, their menu’s on the fridge, call and order whatever you want. I’ll umm, I’ll join you in a little bit.”
"Ok." Albert scurries off quickly enough and Buck feels a little bad for not being more reassuring that he's not upset with him. But it's hard; being vulnerable, that is.
********
An hour later dinner is silent and just a tiny bit awkward between the two men.
It's only after a couple of beers that Buck loosens up enough to blurt out, "I'm in love with Eddie."
Albert blinks up at him in surprise. "Oh shit." His face breaks out into a happy grin. "Dude, that's awesome! I always thought you two would be good together. Actually, I gotta admit, I thought you two were dating when we first met at that bar. So it makes sense." Albert's voice trails off upon realizing how red Buck's face has gone. "Wait, did you not--you know? Know?" Albert's eyes grow wide.
Buck shrugs. "I kinda always knew? But I mean, the Eddie thing is..." He groans, "How am I supposed to tell my best friend I'm in love with him? It would ruin everything."
Albert shakes his head adamantly. "No way man, you said it yourself, Eddie's your best friend, your feelings for him wouldn't 'ruin' anything. Even if by some crazy chance he doesn't feel the same way it's not like he'd stop being friends with you."
Buck rubs a hand up his shoulder and bites on his bottom lip. "But what if that's exactly what happens? I don't wanna hide my feelings anymore, from anyone, but I don't think I can take that risk--it's too big, I could lose too much."
Albert has seen the way Eddie looks at Buck when he thinks no one is else is paying attention. “Look man, I’m not exactly the observant type--Howie can tell you that--but even I can see Eddie’s heart eyes when he’s looking in your direction.”
Buck groans, hiding his face in his hands. “I just don’t wanna mess up what we have.” he looks up, his expression sullen. “We’ve got a good thing going.” he shrugs. “If I confess my feelings there’s a chance--” he sighs, hanging his head. “I can’t do it.”
Albert reaches over and squeezes his shoulder in support. Suddenly an idea strikes him. “Hey,” he jumps up. “What if I could prove to you that Eddie’s just as into you as you are, into him? Would you say something then?”
Buck lifts his head to look Albert in the eye, “How would you go about doing that?”
Albert waves him off. “You don’t gotta worry about that part. Just trust me.”
Buck raises a brow, dubious. “Ok, but you need to promise you won’t say anything about my feelings to Eddie--or to anyone, for that matter. Not even Chimney can know.”
“I swear, not a word!”
*********
Albert strikes over the weekend, during a friendly game of basketball with the 118. Albert had originally only been intending to play one on one with Chim, like usual, but had convinced him to invite everyone at the station, too, last minute.
“Buck’s on my team!” Albert declares, before anyone can even truly get settled.
Chim glares at Albert. “Oh yeah, call dibs on our tallest guy.”
Albert shrugs, throwing an arm around Buck and pulling him close. “And let’s not forget the most handsome.” he winks at Buck with the subtlety of a fire engine racing across town.
Chim raises a questioning brow at his brother but otherwise doesn’t comment. “Uh huh. Anyway, then I want Eddie on my team.”
Eddie steps up beside Chim, giving Buck a look. “Ready to get your ass handed to you?”
Buck scoffs. “I have the power of youth on my side, thanks.” he says, pointing to Albert.
Bobby clears his throat. “This is starting to feel a lot like a middle school gym class, where I’m picked last for teams.”
Hen bumps his fist in camaraderie. “Preach, Cap.”
“Hen, I call Hen!” Chimney immediately announces, practically dragging his best friend over to his side.
“Good, cause I was gonna pick Captain Nash anyway.” Albert sticks his tongue out.
Buck grins when Bobby walks over to stand beside him. His parents never let him play sports when he was a kid--he had to forge their signatures for whatever ‘dangerous’ activity he wanted to participate in, and so he and his dad had never gotten to toss the ball around in the backyard the way most of his friends had, growing up.
Being on the same team with Bobby now kind of feels like that. Not that he’d say it out loud. He’s way too old for that stuff now. Not to mention the fact that now he has to focus on both the game and on whatever Albert is plotting with him and Eddie.
Buck sighs. He should’ve kept his big mouth shut.
The game starts out friendly enough, some playful jabs thrown here and there, but Buck can tell Albert and Chimney are out for blood, knocking elbows and teasing the other when they miss a shot. Though, he concedes, they are siblings, and well, he and Maddie, even at this age, can still get a little overly zealous when competing with one another. So he’s not too worried.
They take a break about half way through the game, sweaty and tired from running around so much, when Albert starts to speak. “Man, I can’t wait for that double date next Friday.”
Chim glances up at him from the bench, where he’s rehydrating. “You’re going on a date? First I’ve heard.”
Albert nods. “Yup. With Buck and these two really cool chicks I met at the coffee shop a couple of weeks ago.”
Eddie furrows his brows. “Did you say Friday?”
Albert nods, knowing exactly where this is going.
Eddie turns to Buck, who’s trying his best to telepathically communicate with Albert to cut it out before he strangles the kid. “Uh, Friday’s game night.” he says, his tone slightly accusatory.
Bobby’s eyes dart between the two men curiously. Hen presses her lips together. “Game night?”
Eddie nods. “Every Friday we get together at my place and do a game night. Christopher looks forward to ‘em every week.”
Albert cuts in before Buck can say anything. “Wow, you two sound like a married couple with a kid.” he teases. “But I mean, what’s the big deal, missing one game night? Buck could meet the love of his life Friday night. Isn’t that a little more important?”
Eddie makes a face none of the crew can really read. “Guess you’re right.” he agrees reluctantly, picking up the ball and passing it to Chimney just a tad on the rough side. “Break’s over, let’s get back to it, yeah?” He steps out into the court without looking back, his shoulders set rigidly.
Albert grins at Buck, whispering as the others head to the court as well, “It’s working!”
“He looks like he wants to kill someone.” Buck half whispers back, eyes wide. “Your plan sucks.”
“Shh, you’ll be thanking me later, now c’mon, let’s go!” Albert runs into the court and takes his position at the front, between Buck and Bobby.
Buck can’t help but focus entirely on Eddie’s sour mood during the game, which is probably why he doesn’t notice the uneven asphalt as he goes to catch Bobby’s toss until it’s too late. He loses his footing and goes down hard.
Buck’s back and side hit the pole connected to the basketball net and the damn thing actually shakes with the force of the collision. Bobby is on him instantly, helping him up and asking if he’s alright. Buck tries to say he’s fine, but the moment he’s standing he bends over, wrapping an arm around himself, wincing in pain. “Hurts.” he admits.
Eddie sprints across the ball court to help Bobby get Buck to the benches where he can sit and they can see what’s going on. Hen lifts his shirt and grimaces tightly at the humongous ugly bruise already forming against his back and part of his chest. “Jesus, Buck.” she feels around that area.
Buck gasps at the onslaught of pain and tries his best not to flinch away from her.
“Definitely some bruised ribs, Buck,” Hen tells him sympathetically, pulling down his shirt as gently as she can. “Possibly fractured. I would definitely get this checked out in the ER, in case they’re broken. They’ll need to do an x-ray and a CT just to rule it out.”
Buck groans. “Can’t I just ice it?”
“C’mon,” Bobby shakes his head, helping Buck get up. “I’m taking you--”
Eddie interrupts, his hand on Buck’s shoulder. “I can go. Christopher’s at a sleepover today, so I’m free anyway.” he volunteers.
Buck is in too much pain to argue with either of them, and ends up in the front passenger seat of Eddie’s truck. Bobby makes Eddie promise to text the team updates.
**********
Eddie fills out Bucks form so he can hold an ice pack to his side while they wait in the ER. Once he’s done he hands it to the nurse at the front desk and sits down next to Buck. “How ya’ feeling?”
Buck knows there isn’t a point to lying, not when he needed to lean the majority of his weight on the other man from the car to the waiting room, after all. “Like the whole left side of me got hit by a car.”
“Here, gimme that, I’ll hold it for you.” Eddie takes the ice pack and places it gently against his side, grimacing when Buck cringes. “Hurt a lot?”
“Only when I breath.” Buck jokes, though it’s not too far from the truth. “You know you don’t have to stay here with me, I can call an Uber to drive me home. The place is packed, we’re probably gonna be waiting for hours.”
Eddie rolls his eyes. “I’m not leaving you, so this had better be your first and last attempt at getting me to go.”
Buck sighs. “Fine.”
“Good.” Eddie clears his throat. “So...”
Buck turns his eyes towards him. “So?”
“You’re really not coming to game night Friday?”
Buck looks away. He doesn’t want to lie to Eddie, but how crazy would he look if he told him Albert made all that up--in order to admit the truth he’d also have to confess his feelings for his best friend, and there’s just no way in hell that’s happening. “Yeah,” he says instead, “Sorry, I was planning on telling you later today, it just kinda slipped my mind.”
Eddie hums, pursing his lips. “No it’s cool, Albert’s right. She might be the one.” he says, though it’s said dryly.
Buck looks up at him from underneath his long lashes, curiously. “And uh, if she is?”
“Then,” Eddie shrugs, “Good for you.”
Buck nods.
An uncomfortable silence falls upon the two men and it’s another half hour of awkwardness before Eddie picks up the conversation again.
“You know what,” he starts, turning to Buck, “I lied. Not good for you.”
Buck blinks at the bluntness. “What?”
“I don’t want you to go on that date. And I don’t want to cancel game night. I know it’s selfish and I’m being kind of psycho right now, but I think I’m jealous?” Eddie’s mouth snaps shut, as though he hadn’t meant to say any of that out loud. Like the words simply spilled forth without his brains permission.
“You’re jealous? Of...what?” Buck doesn’t dare to hope this is what he thinks it is.
Eddie groans, putting down the ice pack for a moment and turning his chair completely to the side so he can face Buck fully. “I know I said Christopher looks forward to game nights, and he does, but so do I. I look forward to spending time with the two of you together and I get excited when our shifts line up on certain weeks and I’m getting tired of saying goodnight and watching you walk to your Jeep, all because I’m too much of a coward to just say--” Eddie stops himself, his chest aching, the words caught in his throat.
“I’m in love with you.” Buck blurts out.
“You--” Eddie stammers. “You are?” he asks in disbelief.
Buck gulps, his cheeks heating up. “For a while now, I think. I just...hadn’t realized until recently.” Dr. Copeland had been a huge part of figuring that out.
“Christ,” Eddie doesn’t waste a second more. He takes Bucks face in his hands and brings their foreheads together right then and there. “Can I...?”
Buck nods, their lips brushing slightly with the motion. “Please.”
Eddie kisses him, softly, tentatively, before pulling away just a bit. “I love you.” he confesses breathlessly.
Buck thinks his heart might actually burst out of his chest.
Man, Albert is never gonna let him hear the end of this.

¤~°Scary Monsters! Screaming Halloween Show: Spooky Sweet°~¤
(Y/N) and Yuu felt the warmth of the sun on their backs as the two walk to Ramshackle. The two quiet as Grim chatters about on Yuu's shoulder. "Yuu, um.. Where exactly were you from before Twisted Wonderland?" The female dorm leader asked her vice dorm leader.
(Even though she thought Yuu would be suited much better as dorm leader.)
Yuu shrugs his shoulders lightly so Grim won't fall. His left hand and right hand carrying two bags, while (Y/N) carried the other bags with ease. "To be honest, I'm not really sure.. I don't really have time to think about it."
Yuu said plainly to (Y/N)'s question. The (h/c)-nette hummed in response. Not minding the young males simplistic wording. Instead she just smiled at him, "I'm from (Y/H), well... From what I remember."
She answered simply, like Yuu. "Huh. Really? I think I remember a place like that on the map, I don't think I've ever been there." (Y/N) (e/c) eyes widen, "maybe I could show you around if you ever visit! I think you would like it."
Yuu nods, smiling back at his crush. "Sure, I wouldn't mind." (Y/N) ruffled Yuu's head, his locks turning slightly messy. The male huffs at her antics as Grim laughs. "Sorry, couldn't help myself, you look cute when you pout. Kinda like Riddle!"
The female joked, Yuu only shakes his head as the two were finally on NRC grounds. Grim hops off Yuu shoulder and fly to Ramshackle without the two. Chanting that he wants to eat tuna. "Grim..!"
Yuu calls out to the furball, who didn't hear Yuu. "Fnga!! A monster!" Grim cries as a paper dragon was covering the Ramshackle grounds. Not seeing the students scattered around the area. Working diligently on decorating the whole place.
(Y/N)'s mouth turns into a excited grin, while Yuu looks at it confusingly. Not knowing of the spooky event they would soon participate in!
_______________________________________________
(Y/N) hears a knock on the Ramschakle dorm, curiously. She gets up from her spot on the couch and goes to open the door. Unlocking the front door, the female looks around the area. Not a single ghost, person, beastman, fae, in sight. Only a lonely brown package at the bottom of the floor.
(Y/N) picks up the box carefully and takes it inside. When walking to the lounge room, the three ghosts that lived in Rambschakle float down stairs to see what's up. (Y/N) sits back on the couch, with the average sized box sitting on her lap. "Did you three order something?" (Y/N) asked undead friends, the three shook their heads.
"I wonder what's in it?" One of three spoke up."Maybe it's something from the headmaster?" (Y/N) nods, "it could be.." She mutters quietly to herself.
(Y/N) opens the package with hesitation in each of her movements. A piece of (color) neatly folded fabric was in the box. "Huh?" Taking the fabric out, it reveals to be a lot more fabrics!?? (Y/N) and three ghosts look over the first piece of cloth and fabrics that had been in the box.
While the other colorful fabrics still sat at the bottom of the package. "Why is this here..?" (Y/N) asked, holding the (color) cloth up in front of three ghosts. "It must be left overs from the Diasomnia dorm!" The chubby ghost shouted in glee.
"Oh, right! It was probably for their costumes for the Halloween event!" The young female said, but was still puzzled. "Where did this even come from..?" "It came from the box," the smaller ghost said. "Right.. what I meant was, who sent it here?"
Pouring out the fabrics from the box to see if there was a note, or a price tag, nothing was there. "Strange.." The slinky ghost said as he rubbed his chin. (Y/N) could agree with that, but she was more drawn to the cloths scattered around on the couch. A idea pops in her head as she folds up the cloths and lays the dress on the couch.
"I think I got a idea on what to use this for. You three, please protect the stuff on the couch and watch over Yuu and Grim. I need to get some stuff from Mr. Sams shop!" (Y/N) ran out of Ramshackle and tried not to knock into the paper dragon that Senior Vanrouge and his other dorm members worked on.
Not seeing Yuu's confused stare from one of the Ramshackle window's. Once she had returned, she had a pumpkin in one hand. A bag in the other. "It's time to REALLY get into the spirit of Halloween!" (Y/N) placed the pumpkin on the counter and heads up stairs to Yuu/Grims room.
Not before taking the "mystery" box with her.
______________________________________________
It was finally Halloween week! The decorations and costumes were ready. The Halloween committee had decided to drop by Ramshackle to make sure everything was in order. "Wow, everything looks great!" Kalim said with enthusiasm as his ruby eyes shined.
Mallues turns a bit smug after Kalim priase. "Thank you, the Di dorm worked very hard on this." Lilia chuckles at the dorm leader and his haughty tone. Cater takes a few pics, while Deuce looks around. "Where's (Y/N), Yuu and Grim? Shouldn't they have met up with us now?"
"Maybe something came up?" Epel said, looking around the area as well. Vil sighs, "being fashionably late is not something you should do." Jack ears perk up as footsteps came towards the group. "I hear something, I think their on there way here."
Jack was most definitely right about that! Grim came to the group first before the dorm leaders. "Nyaha! Stare at the AMAZING Grim and his awesome costume!" The little feline shouted in pride and glee. His little hat tipping a bit.
"Grim! You're a ghost for Halloween?" Deuce questioned Grim, the furball gives a toothy grin. "Of course!" "What about the others.." Idia asks quietly.
A tired sigh escaped a familiar vice-prefect. Yuu showed a few steps behind Grim. "Hey guys, sorry for being late." Yuu apologized, yet the student didn't look exactly like himself at all! Yuu was dressed up today.
Yuu wore loose white shirt and a slightly grayish vest that had a tail coat attached behind him.The vest had small spider web designs that were a light shade blue, even some at the tail coats end. A pair of simple white pants and shoes. Yuu hair was rather messy, but looked very fluffy.
The final touch was a blue bow-tie that wrapped around his neck.
"You two look great!" Cater said as he started to take a few photos. "Not bad, Yuu!" Deuce says as he pats his friends back rather harshly. Yuu does his best not to double take and nods at his fellow first year.
"Thanks. You should tell (Y/N) and the ghosts that. They worked hard on them."
Almost like a genie being called. The female appeared before the group. "I'm glad you guys liked it." The (h/c) haired female said. "I had no clue what to do durring costume making, I'm greatful the ghosts had helped out."
The dorm leader says bashfully, rubbing the back of neck. "So.. What do you think!" She said with smirk, a creepy gleam in her eyes. The Halloween committee stares at her with awe.
(Y/N) wore a (f/c) dress that had bits of rips and tears. A few peices of uneven fabric hanged off her dress, almost like someone had clawed at it. Splashes of fake blood covered some areas of the dress. A simple white sash was also on her dress, covered in hints of fake blood as well. The sash said "Queen" on it in pretty hand writing.
A plastic tiara was placed crookedly on her head head. Her hair (styled/same). She held a knife in her hands that was drenched in fake blood. "Pretty cool right?" (Y/N) asked the the group.
A confident smile on her face as she waited for someone to respond. Surprisingly, Idia was the first to talk. "You look so.. MOE!" Idia fanboys internally at her costume.
Azul doesn't comment on his friends wording, he just stares at (Y/N) choice of outfit. "What was your thought process for these costumes, (Y/N)?" Jade asked for Azul. Even if the Leech brother was also in slight shock. Which was uncommon to him most days.
(Y/N) swings the knife around, like she was playing hot patato with it. But stops after Jade asked his question. "Er.. well you see. In Yuu's and my world, there was a story or song.. I can't really remember which?"
"But, it was a song about girl who wanted to become the "queen" of her dance that her school was having. Though someone stole her dream and she went on a murderous rampage during the party. Her name was Sarra, I think.. It's a bit fuzzy trying to remember. Anyway, I was inspired by it and then made these costumes with the ghosts help!"
(Y/N) explained, yet Vil looks at her with confusion. "Where did even get those clothes?" Vil gestured to her dress and Yuu's outfit. "I found them outside of Ramshackle. I think it was leftovers of from the Diasomnia dorm?"
"The rest I bought at Sam's shop using some of my paycheck." Yuu overheard her and looks at (Y/N) with worry. "Oh, I see." The handsome vampire said, walking over to her. Vil gently grips her chin, looking over her face.
"Hmm." He hummed, caressing one of her cheeks. "You need to put on some make-up." Vil says as he let's go of her. Pulling out a tiny tube of lipstick, he carefully applied it to her lips.
"I'll put on the rest once we are inside." Not caring for the hateful or unhappy stares of the Halloween committee. Vil goes back to Epel side. The first year looks anywhere but his dorm leader. His fists clenching tightly.
Kalim joyfully jumps over to (Y/N), "you look so pretty! And scary too!" Caring very little on how close they were. The fake werewolf holds her arm as he bombarded (Y/N) with sweet compliments. Cater steps in front of the two.
"(Y/N)-Chan~ Mind if I take a pic of you? Your super scary cute right now!" The female nods as Cater starts snapping a few photos. Hashtaging the pics under, super cute, NRC Halloween event! Cater then takes a selfie as well after, "thanks (Y/N)-Chan!"
"I think it's time to get going." Jack tells the group. Everyone agreed and started to walk to the main campus. Yuu and (Y/N) stayed in the back of group. "You didn't tell me you used your paycheck."
Yuu said as he stared at the female straight in the eye. The (h/c)-nette hurriedly says that she still has enough money for other necessities the three might need in the future. But Yuu only shakes their head, "I could of pitched in." "No way Yuu, you already used most of your Madols on groceries. You need to relax once in awhile and let me treat you!"
Yuu still was not convinced, (Y/N) sighs at him. "We can talk about this later. Right now, I want you to enjoy yourself tonight!" (Y/N) said with a determined, but a pleadding look in her (e/c) eyes. Yuu goes silent, though finally caved in. "Alright.."
"Good, cause I didn't want to abuse my power of dorm leader to make you." (Y/N) jokes, in her head she was cheering for her victory! Yuu gave her a small smile. (Y/N) grasps his hand as the two try not to lose the group.
The End!
(Alright. So I decided to add Yuu in this one because I think Yuu needs more love and free time. They keep dealing with so much stuff, so they need a break! I choose Sara Berry for (Y/N) outfit as a spooky easter egg. Grim and Yuu are her victims, so I gave them ghost costumes! Anyway, Happy Spooky Month! 👻 🎃🃏🍭🍬🍫🎇🎆)
