Hi, so I live in the real world where everyone hates transfems. I've had a streak of sleeping with multiple cis boys, whom, after hooking up with them, realized they were actually girls. Did I MAKE them trans somehow? At no point did I tell them they HAD to be girls. I did what I thought was right and let them figure it out on their own. I told them it was a possibility but truly only they can know whether or not they are.

So then why do I keep seeing people talking about how there's a group of transfems out there MAKING poor GNC cis boys into girls? I was not invited into this group, when I probably have more than enough qualifications. You see when I hear people talk about that, I think about something similar I heard about how transgenders are going to make your children trans and somehow destroy America with this Excess of Power over others that this very marginalized and targeted group somehow has. And then it clicked, this group of highly organized dangerous transgenders not only doesn't exist, it's also exactly what the right is constantly fearmongering about.

You see when I think about my experience as an egg, because I'm harsher on myself than I am to others, I just end up screaming at my former self YOU'RE A GIRL TAKE THE ESTROGEN HONEY. when in reality little egg me didn't know yet and saying that wouldn't have helped her. What I'm NOT saying with this post is that anyone who's actually forcing eggs to transition before they're ready is at all justified in doing that. I'm not the type to she/her cis boys i think might be fruity enough to be eggs. (unless they want me to in bed.) I just think its odd how much this egg discourse lines up with what I was told by people when i was figuring out my gender.

"you can just be a boy who wears dresses and makeup. you can just be a femboy. you can just be a GNC cis boy. You can just be a boy. you just are a boy. You are a boy. Don't pretend you're not."

This is pressure to be cis that has masked itself under sounding more progressive. Y'know, the kind of stuff you hear in conversion therapy. Why are you so scared I'm going to take your femboys away from you? Why is allowing more transfems to realize who they are via a funny meme a bad thing? Why is more t-girls a bad thing? The longer this conversation goes on the more it sounds like the same old shit, people hating transfems for having some kind of power they don`t have, and blaming them for intracommunity discourse when the real problem is how many people actually hate us.

There are two ways to end this, either you accept that you have some unconscious biases and you can reevaluate your stance while I can accept that not every trans girl is an angel and some of them may get a little excited and pressure eggs to crack early instead of letting them incubate like they're supposed to.

Or you try to get rid of transfems because clearly they're the problem here.

I've known JJ since we were teenagers. We started off as friends, moved to London together, I lived in the sidemen house for a little while and during that time we began dating. He asked me to be his girlfriend and we've been together ever since. I've been doing YouTube for as long as I can remember, that's how me and JJ became friends since not many people did YouTube at that time. I'm also great friends with the rest of the sidemen, Callux and Freezy.

Recently I've been doing a series on my channel where I prank JJ and he started doing it back. It started with little ones like: drawing a beard on him while he slept (because he can't grow one), then he bought a confetti bomb and scared the shit out of me with it. It continued on like that for a few weeks, me and JJ thought it was absolutely hilarious. Recently my comments have been full of people asking me to do a "cheating prank" so I decided to deliver.

I asked Freezy to do it with me since we've always got along well, he thought it would be funny so said yes. I asked him to come round to our apartment just before JJ was due to return home from a sidemen shoot. To make it look "real" but not actually touch each other we decided when we heard JJ open the front door Cal would make it look like he was quickly putting his clothes back on. I set up the camera so it was hidden but faced the bedroom door so it would catch JJ's reaction. Then me and Cal explained what was going to happen for the viewers.

When we heard the door click I jumped under the covers so my head was just peaking out and Cal rushed to take his top off. "y/n?!" JJ shouted through the apartment. I didn't respond. "y/n?" JJ opened the door just as Cal pulled his shirt back over his head. His face went blank as his eyes flickered from me and then back to Cal. "What the fuck are you doing!" He said stepping forward and harshly pushing Cals shoulder so he stumbled back slightly. I actually wasn't expecting him to believe it. I leaped up from the bed. "Woah, JJ it's a prank!" I stammered. His brows furrowed angrily. "Stop lying, I caught you!" He shouted. "No seriously mate, it's a prank." Cal stated. "Look." I lept around the bed to grab the hidden camera and held it up for him to see. His face calmed.

JJ shot a quick apology at Cal then he left, leaving me and JJ alone. We sat on the bed. I gently cupped his face in my hands. "Do you seriously believe I'd ever cheat on you?" I asked calmly. His eyes dropped to his lap but I brought his head higher so he looked me in the eyes. "I just- you're so amazing and I-" he started. I nodded my head telling him to go on. "I still can't believe someone like you would want to be with someone like me." My heart sank. "I love you so much. I've never loved anyone as much as I love you, and I never will." I said quietly. He pulled me into a hug and held me tight. "I'm sorry for reacting like that." He said into the crook of my neck. "No, I shouldn't have done the prank. I didn't think about the fact you might believe it, that was stupid of me." He pulled away "I love you." I smiled "I love you too."

Okay salty little hater time: Who the fuck started saying "greenette" or "pinkette" to stand in as an indicator for a person with a certain hair color. It is the new "orbs" in fanfiction. I literally have backed out of a fic, walked around a bit, and then gone back in resigned. It's so funny and I actually think of it really fondly, because it's a symptom of fandom the same was all the old fic tropes back in the early 2000's were. But god it even hurt me to write out. Weird formatting and paragraphs breaks I can adjust to pretty easily.

The style fits in with the other art/fics perfectly while still having that special little background/detail flair that Kayson likes to use. Fantastic. ('Strength' for LSoW Yoshi was an inspired pick as well. Love it.)

My username was 'spectralsleuth' for a while because I had thoughts of making a webcomic series about a detective who is dead, and was brain rotted by Homestuck naming conventions. (Which in itself was a satire of early 2000's internet culture, only dramatized.) That never happened, but the name stuck for all my accounts because I'm too lazy to think of a new one.

'audioEidolon' was what I started with on discord forever ago, and I wasn't ever planning to talk to anyone on voice chat because I was shy. (Thus the 'audio eidolon' name.) But I made some really good friends playing DnD and we talk almost every day, and have done for almost seven years now. So I guess my internet nickname will forever be 'Audio' or 'Audi'.

I love comments that pull out a line they specifically liked, or struck them. Maybe it's selfish, but I like seeing the specific things they liked because THAT'S the kind of comment that you think about while writing and forever after. (Despite how nice and easy as generalized comments are. I love all comments!) I even prefer comments that pull a specific line to say they didn't understand it, or noticed it was a little weird or out of place over generic ones, because it shows that they're invested and actually internalizing the writing. In this day and age of bots and AI, it's nice.

MAN THIS IS A TOUGH ONE. Every time I think, wow I wish that fic existed, I generally write it myself! I really can't think of anything I've wanted that I haven't at least started to write myself.

Oh man I don't know if I even HAVE an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character? My 2003 Leonardo opinions are surprisingly rare I think, he's one of my favorite TMNT characters of all time, and I think he and ROTTMNT Leonardo actually have the MOST in common between their counterparts. I never understood those crossovers where Leo and Leonardo were so bewildered by each other.

NO BECAUSE I'VE ACTUALLY THOUGHT ABOUT THIS BEFORE AND I LOVE IT

You guys don't understand I've had so many ideas on how to reverse this AU in a way that either makes none of them suffer (more than necessary) or makes someone other than Roach suffer (Apologies Ghost and Soap but you'll be fine with like one less Ao3 fic about you two and one more that focuses on someone else).

I've thought about Ghost dying where he was Soap's fiance. Then Soap can get promoted to liutenant and be Roach's liutenant. Lots of struggle in that the two could have lots of interactions that are similar to moments between Soap and Ghost. Because Soap losing Ghost would for sure make him a bit more like jaded and a bit more like '09 Soap because of what happened.

So you get that (minus all the toxic calling the other by their dead lovers name) where Roach slowly helps Soap recover and regain some of that life that he lost when Ghost died. They get to kiss and be in love and you can have conflict when they start dating of Roach nearly dying on a mission (as he does) and Soap flipping the fuck out because he doesn't want to lose another lover.

Roach getting to know Ghost (dead) through Soap and, though he never met him, he comes to love and appreciate him for what he was to Soap and what happiness he gave to Soap (let's get rid of that icky almost "competition"/resentment aspect that people tend to include in their dead Roach stuff because its fucking weird to have Soap in competition/hating a dead man)

Other ideas I've had for how to fix this dead fiance stuff is GhostRoach where Roach believes that his fiance, Simon Riley, dies in Mexico (like many people believe), and Ghost doesn't tell him that he's alive because he's worried that it will come back on him and end up with Roach getting killed (he's also terrified of Roach's reaction)

But Ghost doesn't move on either. He keeps he and Roach's engagement ring on (or around his neck/on a necklace during missions). He keeps up with what Roach is doing through the internet, essentially torturing himself because he can tell that Roach is struggling but he can't bring himself to reveal anything.

Then you have Soap who kinda falls for Ghost, but pieces together that Ghost is in love with someone else. Similar to my "Ghost's Dead Fiance" thing, he believes that Ghost is mourning a dead lover. He doesn't press Ghost and, in fact, tries to get over him.

How does Soap try to get over him??? A dating app where he ends up connecting and chatting with an American man named Gary Sanderson who goes by Roach. Roach was convinced to make the account by his family and therapist who didn't want to see him in constant mourning and finally convinced him to at least try.

Soap and Roach hit it off and they essentially start dating online. Then you have Ghost who starts getting upset because he can tell that Roach is with someone new through his posts online (not knowing who), but he also feels guilty about being upset because how can he expect Roach to just mourn him for the rest of his life and never live.

Anyways then you get drama of Roach eventually coming to visit Soap and (since he never knew Simon as Ghost) he doesn't recognize him. So you have Ghost who is forced to watch the man he loves be all sweet and lovey to his Sergeant.

And we all know Ghost is shit with emotions and is still too scared to tell Roach who he is, especially now. So Soap misleads the situation and thinks that Ghost hates/is being rude to Roach for no reason. It eventually comes to a head in a big argument in front of the 141 where eventually Ghost says something that just clicks for Roach on why his voice sounds so familiar (that or he sees the ring) and he just goes "Simon?"

And boom even more drama that eventually ends with all three of them dating and together and happy 😊

OOOOOH Remastered as Animals Behind Scenes

Oh wow, Ginkgo you're actually getting somewhere with the backgrounds- not I'm not lol. Backgrounds are still a killer, not to mention I had no idea how I wanted to make their den to look like on the inside. So I just went with the general: it's a hollowed out tree.

Another thing I ran into was how I wanted J to look like. I had settled on a fox prior to even starting Sleep nuzi comic. Further solidified by @electronix-arts post on J fox (go show some love on that post, it's an amazing idea :3)

But once I got past the sketching... I hit a wall. The colors for J had to be tested. I tried going with the usual color that I depict N, based off of his merch color. But it didn't seem to fit quite right like it did with V. So I decided to switch her over to the more common red fox palette. There are some foxes that are grey! But I didn't like the way the colors mashed with my style.

A funny thing I ran into was J doing the bap bap to get N's sensor back online. First it was a thought of letting J slap him with her nanite tail, buuuut I didn't like that idea. So instead I went with J just smacking him like a cat would- foxes are dog hardware with a cat software, you cannot change my mind. Then it was an issue of how I wanted it to look like.

Went through two versions, before scrapping it and finding the perfect reference photo.

I've been making progress on yet another project I decided to add onto myself! I really gotta stop, I have too many ideas and not enough time (proceeds to pile on another 3). 23. The fandom you're curious about because of a mutual:

@stvlti posting on my dash about the new Scott Pilgrim anime got me curious enough to start watching it recently! I read those comics back in college and thought they were pretty great, as was the Edgar Wright movie. And the anime seems like a very good adaptation of it so far. Can't explain how funny it is as a Canadian to see Canada as the setting for an anime, either... I just feel like we have such a bland normie country to set things in, hahaha

I'm also getting very curious about a ton of different manga thanks to the recs I've received on my blog recently! (X)

25. A piece of advice for taking care of yourself in fandom spaces:

HMMM.

I think the main thing I get people asking me about here sometimes is how to make more friends in the fandom, especially when you're new and don't know anybody. I think the main bits of advice I have on that front is:

(1) I SWEAR YOU AREN'T BEING SNUBBED/INTENTIONALLY IGNORED, YOU'RE PROBABLY JUST NOT ON OTHER PEOPLE'S RADARS AT ALL

So follow a bunch of other bloggers in that fandom and interact with their blogs first! Like their posts, send them polite/friendly asks looking for their takes (this is especially easy to do when people reblog ask memes), and be brave enough not to go on anon when you do it so they can see your lovely face and actually potentially make a connection with you! Most people LOVE getting asks and are flattered when somebody else asks for their thoughts. If you're genuine with your interest it shouldn't take long for other people to start taking interest in you back.

Which leads to my second point of:

(2) MAKE SURE YOU ACTUALLY ARE POSTING THINGS ON YOUR BLOG ON A SEMI-REGULAR BASIS! People will probably click on your blog once you start interacting with them, and they will most likely only follow you back if you actually have stuff on your blog that shows your interests/personality/the kinds of things they can expect you to be posting on their dash! You can easily stock up a bunch of posts into a queue if you're worried about spamming the dash or don't want to be online 24/7 too, so it will keep your blog active without you actually having to be there all the time.

ALSO DO NOT HAVE TOO MUCH SHAME TO LITERALLY ASK YOUR FOLLOWERS TO SEND YOU ASKS. Reblog fandom ask memes, it's a great way to give people a template of questions to bug you nicely with, and answering one ask often leads to receiving another ask!

(3) DO YOUR OWN THING WHETHER OR NOT ANYBODY IS CONSTANTLY PATTING YOU ON THE BACK. First and foremost I'm usually making myself laugh here on my blog and hoarding all of these posts for myself, so even when I'm not getting constant feedback from others I'm still having a good time and posting on the regular! I'm SUPER glad that other people get something out of it too, but I think when it comes to blogging you should treat your blog like your own personal little kingdom where you are making the rules, and other people can follow or unfollow as they please.

And finally:

(4) YOU WILL EVENTUALLY LOSE A FOLLOWER OR TWO, BUT SO DO I AND SO DOES EVERYBODY ELSE. Try not to obsessively check your follower count or to take it as a huge calamity if your count goes down instead of up once in a while! It WILL eventually go back up again, and you genuinely have no idea why it dropped most of the time (it probably wasn't anything majorly personal - maybe somebody just is no longer in your fandom, maybe Tumblr is clearing out some porn bots, maybe a follower is deactivating their blog - or maybe you DID post something that somebody didn't like, but that's ok, it's probably better if they aren't following you anymore anyways!) And you should ALSO block/unfollow people freely if they're really making your blogging experience uncomfortable - at the end of the day you don't really know them and they don't really know you, and you will both probably move on and forget about it not too far down the road.

1. List 3 positive things about your current fandom(s):

(1) Genuinely extremely chill and cozy, and almost always has been in my experience!

(2) People have the best sense of humour here. IDK I think I took it for granted that all fandoms were like that but anytime I venture into other ones I find myself being a bit disappointed that people just aren't as funny in general a lot of the time

(3) OMG thank you everybody for all the delicious fanfic and fanart, and for continuing to still make it steadily even in 2023

8. You hope more people will come to appreciate ___ (a ship, a trope, an episode, etc.):

I'm gonna advocate for a ship I don't even have a ton of personal investment in and say meronia! God, stop sleeping on this pairing already and/or acting like it's way more problematic than it actually is, you silly ancient fandom you (no, they are not basically related, they simply went to the same school in their childhood for a bit). These two definitely deserve to have their relationship a bit better explored!

16. A tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate:

Watari had an entire-ass family of his own, apparently!

Isn't that weird to think about? There is actually SO MUCH unanswered stuff about how his relationship with L actually was set up, especially if you are just going by the original manga serial and aren't using the one-shots or the anime or LABB novel to flesh out L's backstory or any Wammy's lore. And sometimes I think it might be neat to see people exploring it in totally different ways that would still be 100% plausible based on what little we know!

oof that is definitely one to start with! personally, i would say ushari's death and how the outlanders were handled in Battle For The Pridelands and after. ushari's death is a common talking point in the fandom, but i also think the waving off of scar's army who literally were the main villains for a whole season should've had something more, to end with at least...

also, how the whole circle of life ideology in tlg Does Not Work and is inherently speciesist in how they handle it, but i will spare you my rambling as there's plenty of good posts and videos about it

hmmmm!! as i said here, i'm pretty open to a lot of different ideas. but i have thought of another one: i've seen a few people shipping Simba x Kovu (IN AUs WHERE KIARA DOESN'T EXIST DW) and it's like... yeah, okay, we want mlm representation and there isn't that many non-related canon tlk characters - i get that - but the age gap... no thank you. (from my understanding, if it's an AU then maybe they would be the same age, but it rubs me the wrong way naturally) it's not like a massively popular ship but i've seen it a good few times, enough for me to talk about it

I think for simplicity's sake I'm gonna say.. three. Tales From The Lagniappe, Pink Foam on Play Night, and the newly renamed freshman fic My Kingdom For a Whole Lotta Bullshit. TFTL is still pretty loose, MKFAWLB is still mostly comprised of old ass crumbs from 2018-2020, so here's a snippet for PFOPN

Jeremy swallowed thickly, voice wavering. “She’ll do whatever I want.” “That’s what I promised.” It sounded so innocently proud of such a horrific feat, like a cat that'd brought a dying bird to the doorstep, the poor creature’s blood staining the concrete as it struggled to cling onto each weak breath it took. But the cat didn't know that its act of affection wouldn't translate the way it thought it would. Or it didn't care; you could never really tell what was going on in the cat's head. 

17. Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

Oh out of order as fuuuck. The Swamp Fever campaign (ch 14-17) of L2C was closer to being finished than Dead Center (ch 2-5) for a looong time before I finally focused more on finishing the chapters chronologically so they'd be done in time for posting.

Um. Funny story, that's like. Exactly what I'm doing with PFOPN and MKFAWLB lol. Pink Foam is a spiritual rewrite of The Play-centric chapters of my first fic and My Kingdom is going to completely overhaul what I was planning to do for this. (I was debating on whether to add onto this fic like it hasnt been 6yrs since ive touched or to just start over and rewrite the first couple of chapters. For archival purposes, im leaning toward the latter) So. Uh. Lemme see what I've got!

The SQUIP didn’t even need to actively fight Michael to make it difficult to give Jeremy the Red Dew, as his pained writhing was more than enough to make the task near impossible. It might’ve been easier to wrap him in a blanket burrito just to keep his limbs from flailing around, like he were a skittish cat that needed to be held still for a vet. This was more effective at keeping Jeremy still when it was a full body effort, but it didn’t give Michael the freedom to actually get the bottle open, so the victory was hollow.

A recently familiar clickity clack caught Jeremy’s ear, and thankfully Michael’s too, as he was waving a hand trying to flag down a certain popular kid on crutches. The context of Jeremy being locked between Michael’s legs on the ground was clearly lost on Jake, but they couldn’t really complain when he hobbled over to see what all the commotion was about.

“Jake! This is gonna sound weird, but if I hold down Jeremy, can you make him drink this Mountain Dew Red?” Michael tossed the bottle up to Jake, watching him catch it out of the air.

Jake looked between the bottle and the two of them for a moment, then flashed an annoyingly charming smile that anyone attracted to guys would swoon at. “Actually? That doesn’t sound weird at all.”

Tim Pool is one of those guys in the conservative media ecosystem who just reports on social media posts as if they were actual news. Dave Rubin does this as well. My working theory about this is that they realize that if they tried to get into deep and nuanced conversations about actual issues they'd end up looking like complete morons. Anyway, Tim found an obviously grifty video from someone who "left the left" and made a 27 minute long video talking about it. Lets get into it.

Anyway, I've said this many times but a majority of these "I left the left" guys are complete grifters. Blog favorite Dave Rubin is a prime example of this phenomenon. I personally think that this JadeWithJay character is just another grifter appealing to conservative reactionaries for clicks, something which Tim is falling for hook line and sinker.

Confession time; in my quest to properly understand the conservative media griftosphere I have read both Ben Shapiro and Dave Rubin's books (I pirated them because there's no way I'm giving those two money).

I might do a post on my thoughts on them later on but suffice it to say they were awful and I wasn't turned into a conservative after putting the book down. I will say that the struggling to read it part reflected my experience as well but for different reasons.

Whenever he goes on these tangents the entire story gets completely derailed and replaced with whatever dumb shit happens to be on Tim's mind that day.

See, unlike a lot of Tim's stories I kind of think that there might be an element of truth here. I definitely believe that he was at some point at the casino and while it's kind of far-fetched there is a chance that some people recognized him. I seriously doubt that this guy who didn't know who he was was that profoundly affected by Tim's mere presence but that's just Tim being kind of childish.

People do follow Tim as baffling as that may be and there is a chance that some people did recognize him. Where the story starts to get ridiculous is here;

That absolutely did not happen. Maybe the guy made some sarcastic comment about him liking Trump and Tim decided to blow it out of proportion on his show. This sounds like a story an eight year old made up.

It's totally ridiculous.

I already very briefly touched on this but the Abraham Accords were basically an arms deal between countries that weren't even at war with each other. They did not create broad piece in the Middle East despite what everybody on the right constantly says.

Tim is correct in saying that Obama did build the migrant detention facilities but Trump was the person who used said facilities as a means to separate children from their families. The issue isn't who built the facilities in the first place, it's who was using them to separate children from their parents at the border.

Tim rambles on about how he'd rather have a libertarian than Donald Trump but still will vote for him. Then completely out of nowhere he decides to make a stupid argument against gender affirming care.

20:07, Tim Pool: "Desistence rates according to the scientific research can range from 65-95% and suicide rates can range from 30-40% or more for those that are trans. In which case, more likely a child will stop being trans, like stop experiencing dysphoria, by the time they reach puberty. But putting them on blockers could result in a massive increase in suicidality, so that's just logic."

Those desistence rates are among pre-pubescent children who, like I've said about ten million times, aren't getting blockers or surgery.

More to the point, there are dozens of factors that could lead to increased suicidality amongst trans people outside of "oh, well they're on blockers now so they just magically became suicidal".

We live in a political climate that has turned the human rights of trans people into a political issue. The very existence of Matt Walsh as a commentator proves this point. It stands to reason that a lot of this hateful rhetoric blows back on trans people in their day to day lives. According to the FBI the amount of anti-LGBTQ hate crimes rose record highs in 2023. The point I'm trying to make is that it's easy to draw a connection between the hateful rhetoric that shitheads like Tim Pool push on a daily basis and the increased suicide rates of transgender individuals.

Tim rants about how to convert leftists. We don't need to hear any of this. It's just him saying that you present the "most extreme position" to leftists which will force them to oppose strawman leftist ideology and thus....become conservative I guess? It's just forcing people to argue against strawmen.

Conclusion:

As per usual, Tim has really only delved into the shallow end of the pool and created an absolutely ridiculous video as a result. Oh well, at least I now have a very thorough understanding of his night at the casino.

It's been wonderful being able to talk about these things for me too! I haven't really had the opportunity since Y7 came out, so I'm positively buzzing. And no worries about the tone of your post about Daigo's article haha, I appreciate it when issues are pointed that I might've missed otherwise since that's at least something actionable.

But I'm obviously not going to stop anyone from venting frustrations with the wiki or with Fandom as a platform; I frequently find myself frustrated too! It's one of the things that keeps people editing the wiki. I'm honestly fine with whatever as long as it's not accusing us of being fujoshi for the billionth time lol, but for better or worse I do like to clarify what we're trying to do if there's any confusion.

Speaking of, Mine's relationship tags are kind of a funny story! So a lot of them have these dotted underlines and question marks, right? You're supposed to be able to hover over underlined terms to see a short definition (on desktop) and click the question mark to see an article with all the definitions on mobile, since hover actions aren't possible on a touchscreen.

But since the article was and still is under construction, Fandom doesn't show the link to logged-out users. So I had no idea it just looks like we're saying the tag is ambiguous lol. It's up now though, so it's hopefully easier to understand what we're trying to do!

I just found it funny I specifically added that feature to reduce confusion. Half the grief we get over Mine's "romantic interest" tag is because people assume we're saying it's mutual (we chose the term to try and avoid the "mutual" connotations of "love interest," but I guess that didn't work out). I also thought it might help with somewhat esoteric tags like "co-parent" (which was put in place for Jo and Arakawa and then I kept thinking of others) and "surrogate son." Turns out it's tough to boil complex relationships down to one term!

I definitely have SO many questions about New Year's Day and I probably always will; for the space of only one night, it's a huge blank. I certainly do have to wonder if shipping Masato off to America was decided then and there. There's a lot that could possibly be expanded on in RGGO (further interactions between Arakawa and Jo included lol), so I've got hope for that too now that we're back to random events. I'd be really interested to see how you'd portray it someday!

Talking about Nakai and Tsutsumi reminded me, Nakai mentioned he read the whole script in a day so he "wouldn't do a disservice to Arakawa or Sawashiro's characters." That kind of stuck out to me precisely because there are so few scenes between them compared to like, Arakawa and Ichi, and they're all relatively low-impact in comparison.

Of course, it could be marketing on account of him and Tsutsumi getting to co-star again, or the scenes could simply have stood out to him more for that reason, or he could've had a different impression of the ratios having read the script rather than played the game. But the part of me that makes me want to go Off The Deep End speculating is kind of wondering if there were other scenes planned?

And absolutely! I'm not able to reblog often because the post editor's been crashing whenever I try to tag my posts, but I hope you know I love your work and I'll support pretty much anything you put out! I'm very excited to share my findings as well.

A lot of it's to do with Mine's relationship to Western culture vs. Japanese culture (his "westabooism," basically), so that's specific to him, but there a lot of interesting concepts and theories in Japanese psychology regarding familial bonds, met and unmet emotional needs. They work as an explanation for his probable feelings of alienation from Japanese culture, but I feel they would make for an interesting lens to examine the Arakawas through as well.

I actually hadn't ever considered the similarity with regard to Mine and Jo's dads, but that makes so much sense! If I were to take it a step further, I think feelings of "abandonment" by their fathers have had long-lasting effects on both them and Masato. Jo we've been talking about, his father was technically still "there," but he wasn't in his corner, which feels much the same as abandonment to a child.

I think Mine's internalized a lot of the same feelings even though his father never meant to abandon him (I guess Jo's may not have, necessarily; alcoholism can destroy a family whether the individual wants that to happen or not). Like, unfairness, displacement, lack of control, the loss of the only support you have and so on. I think dwelling on that is what sent Mine's mental state spiraling, and what made it imperative to just believe Daigo was "dead" to try and move on as soon as possible. He didn't want to be hurt the same way again.

It's also probably what he was projecting in his ridiculous villain speech during The Orphanage Scene; the reason offering kids support in the way Kiryu does is a form of "victimization" in his eyes, at that moment, is because that support can be ripped away from you at any time. The scene is kind of hilarious to me because it's like, "okay we need Mine to have a kick-the-dog moment, his actions have been too understandable," but I do get it from that angle.

Similarly, I think those feelings of abandonment are why Arakawa faces the brunt of Aoki's abuse, because it's like, "YOUR negligence is why I had to go through all of that." So I get why Jo, like your sister, wouldn't want the finger pointed at him, but at the same time… damn. Perhaps if Arakawa had never had that talk with Masato, things might've been different. I get the impression he wouldn't be able to endure keeping things to himself for as long as Jo, though, given things like the letter he sent Ichi in prison.

Oh, yeah, Jo is CRAZY protective of Masato too! "If anything happens to him, killing you a thousand times would be insufficient!" I think part of his overreaction to having Masato's money is also that if Ichi can't listen to orders that fundamental, who's to say he listened to the orders to keep Masato safe? I guess if you see Ichiban as incompetent to the point of almost being a malicious actor, you might think that.

I'm sooo so glad you've noticed the rest of those similarities haha, I've been rotating them around in my brain like a cube for ages. A Venn diagram would be so fun to see! That's such an insightful look at the differences between Mine and Jo's offices too. I was a little confused about the placement of the social spaces, or even that they're there, but if you look at it as clearly separate from his personal spaces, it does make sense.

Also, not to harp on the books in the offices too much, but I compared the textures a little earlier. Mine's are basically all (very expensive) encyclopedias and language phrasebooks in English, Italian, French, and German, in contrast to Jo's discrete hardcovers and series of art history books. They're probably all stock assets lol, but I think they're surprisingly good fits; Mine dumping considerable time, money, and energy into his fascination with Western culture and Jo being the type to not want people to know what he's reading totally works for me.

But yes! It's kind of funny, because Yokoyama wasn't much of a Mine fan in his early days, but I hope he and the others keep on writing characters like him. I think of it as Mine's "legacy" in a series where past characters aren't acknowledged too often; the most I can recall are that Hakuho mention in 4 and the fencing around the Touto roof perimeter.

Speaking of, I love Mine's missed shots in the finale specifically because he's an excellent marksman in his Okinawa character story. Why? How? Who Knows, He's Perfect. (Probably not as good of a shot as Daigo though lol)

And yeahhh, there are other interviews, but it ain't the same! It was the most in-depth one I know of. I think this is one of the only remnants, and I shall entrust it to you.

But yes, exactly! And I'm also glad Y7 introduced more people to them (myself included), Tsutsumi's my favorite actor of all time and Nakai's brilliant. They make a great combi! Of the things I've seen where they co-star, I think Princess Toyotomi and Hero SP are both solid; the latter is a special for a longer show, but I honestly didn't even notice lol. Musashi I wasn't personally able to get through even though I've read the book, so I'm not sure how it plays out between them.

OH MAN MINE'S WIKI ENTRY I've definitely made my opinions about it known, but now knowing the truth behind it it's kind of funny and still so unfortunate. I'd almost want to recommend a section dedicated to the topic since it's such an integral part of his character, though I also understand wanting to keep the wiki strictly to factual information and to exclude speculation (or "speculation" anyhow- it's definitely more of a concrete situation, especially going off of the information provided in your pinned post on the topic. If anything, that sort of information would belong to the "Trivia" tab wouldn't it- but again, it's such a deep situation it can't really be summarized in one or two sentences) and the topic being too niche to have a page dedicated to it. It's nice to know that the subject isn't trying to be brushed under the rug though and it's just a matter of awkward formatting/incomplete work!

Furthermore on The New Years Event, I would LOVE RGGO to expand on the topic since they've been so liberal with the stories they make and the depth those stories add to the characters. Honestly, I was expecting Masato's card to have that as its accompanying character story, so it's unfortunate that he doesn't get it or any story as far as I'm aware (or maybe he does have one and my poor pull luck has just prevented me from getting the card to find out myself, but I've looked as much as I could and couldn't find an upload of it). Oh well, I guess it's the old "if you want something done you gotta do it yourself-" not that anything I could make could ever be up to scratch, so I'm glad I do have people interested in what I have in mind :)

About Nakai, I wouldn't feel wrong trying to accredit his comment to a time before he knew the full plot or saw the full game and was just debriefed on the general story/character relationships, and I also wouldn't put it past RGG to have deleted scenes/ideas (if those do exist, RGG please let me in your vault I'd like to take a peak...)!

The psychology of Mine is another topic I've been wanting to officially tackle for a while now, so I'm glad I have this chance to share some of what I have mental bullet points for.

Moreover, Mine's dad and how he "left" Mine undeniably impacted him significantly beyond physically leaving him alone, and it definitely manifests in The Orphanage Scene and his idea that killing Daigo would be "putting him out of his misery". In those instances, he sees Daigo and the orphans as victims of an unfair reality, Daigo being comatose, and the orphans having the endure the struggles of being orphans (and that added-on, projected anxiety that their comfortable lives now could vanish at any second like it did for Mine). Mine's mustache-twirling villainy is funny for its absurdity, but I also genuinely appreciate it since it lets us peak into his warps philosophy better. It doesn't justify his actions by any means, but it explains to us why he can justify his actions as from a place of love or pity as opposed to thoughtless evil.

To add on, Mine's relationship with his father, from what we're allowed to gather, was healthy and positive. Because of their positive relationship, the removal of such adds credence as to why Mine's desperate to get that love again. It especially makes sense considering Japan's horrendous attitude and negligence towards orphaned children that was even demonstrated during Mine's childhood while his father was alive.

And as an inverse aside, Jo's relationship with his dad was toxic, whether it was due to blatant abuse or combined negligence. It's fair to assume that Jo never got to experience genuine, secure love growing up, so as a result, it's not something he actively seeks out. He's been without it long enough that it's not something he necessarily craves like Mine who used to have it until it was taken from him.

Masato certainly makes it clear he felt isolated despite the efforts Jo and Arakawa repeatedly went through for him, and it's apparent it's an unfortunate side affect of internalized ableism. It definitely doesn't help anyone's case that Masato had seemingly been informed of the night of his birthday's events (from Arakawa's point of view, obviously), and it's clear that knowledge gives ammunition as to why he resents him.

You're right on Jo potentially seeing Ichi as a bad actor, it's not as if he has disdain for him for no reason! Like even if Ichiban hadn't taken Masato's money the way Jo could have imagined, the idea that Ichi can't be responsible in one avenue can easily lead back to Ichi having the potential to look after Masato, especially when he seems to be the one who predominately looks after him when he's tasked to.

I've already got my program open to make my little chart and have my reference pictures ready, so hopefully I can have that silly thing out soon haha- I'm glad you're interested in seeing it, and I hope other people will like to see it too! Jo and Mine really are my favorite antagonists, so it's funny (and I guess not surprising) that they have parallels to them.

To add on to that though, I think it's fun to look at the extra details, no matter how small; I'm probably more happy than I should be that you looked at their office's books, but I can't help be a fan of the details you found (whether they're generic models or not, I'm running with them- I've done more with less before lmao)! Mine having language books is definitely in-line with his interests, but Jo having art history books is weirdly endearing (and dare I say another point for "these are the same picture" comparing it to Mine's own love for art). Jo being so private to the point of blocking out the binds of the books he owns is so accurate to him and his secrecy, and the concept that he likes to read about art in his spare time is a new favorite concept for me.

Mine really isn't acknowledged much after 4; in comparison to Ryuji and Nishiki, he's remembered throughout the series the least (you can argue the same for Ryuji, but considering he gets a whole new life in Dead Souls, I think it's fair to say that makes up for the mainline series forgetting about him. Though I guess the same could be Mine getting a prominent role as Hijikata in Ishin... Definitely not as cool of a spot as to be a playable protagonist with a machine gun arm if I'm honest). In that, it's great that his likelihood can exist in future characters, and I hope they continue the trend of phenomenal antagonists in LaD8 and onward!

I've got Princess Toyotomi and Hero SP added to my watch list, DEFINITELY something I'll be excited to check out as a reward once I have all my important business taken care of this week! Honestly, I haven't seen Musashi either: while I was looking through their filmography I saw it was a project they did, but I've always been bad at watching long series so I didn't take the time to see their performance together.

For things I have seen though... yeah he dies SORRY IF THAT WAS HOW YOU FOUND OUT </3</3 Honestly I didn't expect myself to love the series as much as I did (admittedly it was predominately because of the leads and their relationship), but when it happened I was both- dare I say crushed- a little humored a little funny in a dark-comedy way.

And if you do have access to harder-to-get films, I'd absolutely be interested in hearing about it. One of Nakai's movies Good Morning Show has been haunting me for weeks: it sounds like such a fun movie yet I can't find it anywhere </3

Crime O'clock - Demo Review

After a lovely day, I was having a terrible evening thanks to a letter from my local city council. I decided to sit down and play the Crime O'clock demo cause it seemed like it would lift my spirits. I think this game was a recommendation from Payton's Corner?? I'd have to go through my youtube and check. I'm pretty sure it was a rec though, as this is not the kind of game I would usually demo. It's marked as a hidden object and time travel game and I would not have looked twice at it if it wasn't recommended. But oh my goodness, I had so much fun and I absolutely adored it.

So the premise of the game is that there exist a True Timeline and occasionally, people try to disrupt this timeline through crime. As a time detective, your job is to solve these crimes in order to preserve the True Timeline. In the game, some mysterious force seems to be trying to disrupt the timeline by doing a lot of little crimes over a spread of time as opposed to one big crime. You have to figure out who they are, foil their plans and save the time as we know it. The demo only scratched the surface of the plot but it explained it very well in the short time and leaves you excited for more. Now, onto my thoughts.

First of all, I want to point out that this is a genuinely unique premise, like I've heard of nothing else like it. I feel like sometimes in gaming (in everything really), things are starting to feel more and more like a rift off an existing idea as opposed to something new and fresh. Crime O'clock is a true one of a kind story that feels like it's breathing a breath of fresh air into my gaming catalogue(or more realistically, my wishlist).

On the technical side, the music was fun and upbeat and matched the mood of the game well. The graphics were very pretty, despite being mostly in greyscale, and the points that used colour were so distinct that it almost feels like each colour palette is distinctly for a certain part of the game. Mechanically, it was a point and click game, so not much there to mess up I don't think.

The actual game is excellent. In the game, you work with your AI, EVE, who helps you, provides guidance, tools, and if you ask, hints. The dialogue from EVE is funny (in my opinion at least) and is a perfect balance of informative and entertaining. The plot is fun and makes you think but it isn't overwhelming. The setting is so out there, and combined with the cute art, animal characters, and combination of past & present with outrageous technology like teleportation portals (yes it sounds wild, but it fits so well), it all makes it just silly enough that you don't take it too serious and use too many braincells.

The puzzles aren't easy but they aren't overly complex. I only had to use the hint system once and there's no punishment for using a hint. Despite it technically being a hidden object game, it didn't feel like one as I was playing, mostly because it's so unlike any hidden object game I've played before.

I feel like, the length of this review tells you how much I loved this game and this was only the demo.  I will definitely get this game once my employment status has been sorted. I feel like the last couple of demo reviews I posted have been "will buy when I have money" like Another Code and Wylde Flowers but that's mainly cause they've been the ones that excite me enough that I have the energy to write a review. I am working on a post called "Games I demoed and did not like" that's currently 6 games and counting, so it's not all 5 stars over here, that's just what excited me right now.

Overall, I definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes puzzle-ly or detective cosy games and is looking for something new.

i figured i could start journaling again. tbh i always liked long-form journaling a lot more than short-form blurbs and updates. twitter is more for memers, or people who like to make big, bold statements. i like to flesh things out, or think in pointless circles, which usually means 10-tweet threads no one asked for cluttering up their timelines. my posts aren't funny, or entertaining. i feel like i come off as really annoying on twitter. which for a long time has sucked and made me use of the site unpleasant. especially since it seemed like the last one left. but with twitter falling, where else is there to go?

i wish we could just bring back livejournal. i feel like the way hey separated things into communities--so you weren't forced to get annoyed over memes that aren't even for you in the first place, or diatribes about ships that are only logical and enjoyable to the people who ship them--was sincerely superior. i miss it. sadly, i don't know if it will ever come back since social media prioritizing engagement means the more people who see something, the better--even more so if it starts a fight because that will mean even MORE engagement, and even MORE clicks, and the cycle just keeps going.

tbh, for a couple years now i've been thinking it would, mentally, be so much better for me if i just quit social media. then i wouldn't have to see my friends' super exciting lives while i'm sitting home alone for the nth weekend in a row. it would mean less comparing myself to other people. more time to spend on doing things that would actually better my life. but it's a scary thought. because i'm so used to social media, so used to relying on the constant presence of others, would i still reach out to people? do i even know how to reach out to people anymore, without just screaming into the void that is twitter and hoping someone hears? will everyone forget i ever existed if they no longer see my tweets? or, worse, will they actually be glad i'm not on their feed anymore? would leaving social media just mean i'm alone from here on out?

idk. this is the dumb shit that haunts me. i grew up on the internet and on social media--was a part of the first generation to do so--so it's hard to envision my life without it. (really, social media is probably why my ability to reach out to others is so stunted...) plus, as an otaku, you kind of need social media to connect to others who share your interest. at least, you do if you're not an intensely outgoing extrovert. which i am most definitely not.

going to the genshin concert made me long so much for at least one actual flesh-and-blood friend who would want to go with me to stuff like that. i had so many feelings and thoughts that i just stewed over the entire walk back to the station, and then the hour and a half train ride home. all around me were people discussing it excitedly during every intermission, but i just kinda sat there and stared into space, listening to everyone around me talk, taking in all their thoughts and feelings and not being able to share any of my own.

i'm not someone who minds doing things alone. i think because of who i am, and the life i live, and the illness i've been dealt, i couldn't survive if i wasn't willing to do things alone. i feel like maybe that's a very lonely thing to say, and a very lonely way to think, but it's just my reality. i decided to abandon my entire life in the states where i already didn't have a ton of friends, and i came to a place where most of the people are just as shy and unwilling to reach out to strangers as i am. plus i continue in this limbo of moderately-okay-but-not-great japanese, at the level where you plateau if you don't speak much. and i don't speak much. i have a lot of trauma around speaking. it takes a very safe atmosphere to coax it out of me.

i was considering starting a journaling style that i saw recommended, where rather than writing, you record yourself speaking your thoughts and feelings. and while i know that would probably be very therapeutic and helpful for me in the long run, i haven't been able to bring myself to do it. in a book i've been reading lately, "the body keeps the score" by bessel van der kolk, he discusses how trauma freezes the part of the brain that processes language, and makes it hard to actually discuss what you're feeling. that's always been a problem for me. i don't want to talk about things. i don't want to put certain feelings and thoughts into the world. i don't even know how. not even to my phone in the privacy of my home.

but i do want to try it, if i can get myself to that point. i really do want to get better. i want so badly to stop being afraid of everyone in my life, of being abandoned by them, or being hated by them if i open up and show them the worst of me. if i admit how lost and sad and trapped i feel a lot of the time. i feel like i look like such a negative person, such a bitchy and whiny sadsack of a human, but it's because i'm afraid of everything. i'm like that annoying small dog that's so afraid you're going to kick it and so it makes itself as unpleasant to be around as possible so you just leave it be. if no one likes me, if everyone just leaves me alone, i'm safe. i can't be hurt anymore.

for how sad this journal entry comes off, though, i feel like i've been in an okay place mentally lately. the fact that i've been going out and doing stuff again is a sign of that. for a long while i remembered the first year i was in japan, how excited i was to go out and just do things, even if i had no one to do them with. but sometime around covid, that started slipping away--i stopped leaving my apartment until i was invited out, and stopped going to restaurants and shops and events unless someone would hold my hand. but i'm finally in a place where i feel like i've started to rebuild a bit.

i've been thinking a lot lately about what my priorities are, and what i can do to achieve those things, so i can have some semblance of peace and stability in my life. and right now, i feel like i want to just prioritize the idea of feeling good about myself and good about my life. i worked so hard to get to where i am now, and it feels like such a waste to be living it miserably. and while part of me can't help but feel like being miserable is just the hand i was dealt with my anxious, weird brain, i want to try to do something about it. i don't want to just continue to be sad about things and let those things fester even if they're things that can be changed.

so for now, i'll change the things that are in my power to change--my diet, my sleeping habits, getting enough exercise, doing more of the things i enjoy, cutting out more of the things that make me miserable (no matter how fun and addictive they seem in the moment...), and just being kinder to myself if i fail in any of those at any given moment. i want to feel like i am some power over my life again, however little.

anyway. now that i've made myself cry writing this, i need to run to the store. but it truly is therapeutic to actually type all this out. i enjoyed it. i missed journaling. i'll have to do this more often.

He was trying to get your attention. Didn't work, but he expected that. Over the next weeks that would come, he would message you more. You didn't see those either.

He had even taken a screenshot of the messages he sent and posted them on his story because he thought it was funny.

After that, he said in a stream, "I would let Y/N Y/L/N have my children." That comment alone resulted in fans making edits of the two of you.

Next, Jett caught him staking your tik tok profile. He noticed it when he realized the same song was playing on repeat and Vinnie had a grin that he was trying so hard so to show.

Then, Jett and Eamon had got on twitter to try to get your attention on Vinnie's behalf to help him out. They were really just joking but they'd be lying if they said they hadn't hope that you'd see the mentions.

Finally, the most recent thing occurred on tik tok. He was doing the trend to this sound. The video starts with a selfie that he took with the text on top saying, "I wonder if pretty eyes would suit me."

Then it goes to a montage of photos of you, with the text then changing to, "I hope they do."

You got so many notifications throughout the day, so you normally didn't keep up with them unless they were from friends and family. Until today. You were laying in bed, about to get up to get ready for work when you opened tik tok. People were relentless in tagging you in some video, so you clicked on it to see what the hype was all about.

It was Vinnie's video that he posted. Your eyes widened to see that he used your pictures to do this trend. After the video was on repeat four times, a soft smile appeared on your face as you clicked "duet".

It was simple, really. You looked into the camera, interested to see what was going to happen, then your eyes widened at the sight of your own pictures. Trying to recreate your expression that you just had in real life a few moments before.

All you put for the caption was his username and posted it.

Within a half hour, it already garnered so much attention. Some of the comments were:

Later that day was when he saw it. He put a hand over his mouth as he gasped. You duetting his video proved that you were aware that he existed and that was enough for him, honestly. It's funny how the tik tok algorithm works. He couldn't get over the fact that when you smiled in the video, it was because of him.

He was such a fan boy.

But it didn't stop there. The high he felt increased as he saw a notification from you in his messages.

He couldn't move.

He clicked on the username to make sure that it was in fact you and not a bot. It was real alright.

Vinnie was actually getting ready to stream when all of this was happening but now that was just gonna have to wait. He even tried to seem nonchalant in his message back.

And when you didn't respond fast like you had been doing, he felt like he messed up.

He let out the breath he didn't realize he was holding.

I’m curious what would Casino Egg’s thoughts on game Eggman be? Would they have a relationship?

I've actually shared quite a bit about their relationship on this blog and my 🔞 ones, whenever I talk about modern in those, I always intend for it to be game canon Eggman. You can read the post about how they met and some other facts about his relationship here. But I do wanna talk about it more here because I love them together and I've been meaning to get to it 💜

Casino Egg adores modern Egg too, they have a strong unbreakable bond and actually met a few years before they both met Boom Egg. Casino Egg wouldn't have even met him without modern introducing him, so he has a lot to thank him for. They quickly clicked because they have a lot in common, their biggest difference being main focuses and goal but they still have the same motivation of world domination.

They mostly share key experiences and memories so they understand their feelings and know they can talk to each other, which is rare due to both having low empathy but this is different because they're the same person. As soon as modern finds out about Casino Egg's love for casinos and bad habit of constantly smoking big cigars, he asked if he got it from his father and indeed he did. His father was the same as his as a big chainsmoker and he was also into casinos and gambling.

With just that and many more things that he goes on to learn, modern realizes that Casino Egg is almost exactly just like him in an alternate universe where he didn't control the smoking habit anywhere near as well after he started smoking due to his father and chose cigars, while modern can't handle them too well and sticks to the occasional cigarette instead (aside from when he plays it up for disguises because it's not expected of him to smoke cigars)

And casinos ended up becoming Casino Egg's main interest and goal after learning and becoming interested in them through his father before he was old enough to visit any, while he also had theme parks as a side interest. Meanwhile, theme parks are modern's main interest but also has casinos as a side one for the same reason. So it's basically the exact same thing but flipped, so they get to see the what ifs in each other.

It's like that for many other little things here and there too. Examples include, they both grew up without ever knowing or having a mother for the entirety of childhood, their fathers were both bisexual, and they both realized they had a thing for muscular buff guys and guys in general through finding and stealing some questionable magazines and catalogs from their fathers' drawers as a result. XD

Casino Egg is quite a bit heavier than modern, over 100 lbs more already when they met because he doesn't watch his weight as much or have robots to control his love for fast/junk food and his huge sweet tooth. But he does enjoy anything healthier that's strawberry related more than modern does. Modern also likes strawberries too but nowhere near as much as Casino Egg with his total obsession!

They both had an interest in exercise and partaking in sports when they were younger but those days are long gone for Casino Egg despite almost enjoying it more than modern, he stopped because he doesn't have time and he decided that he likes watching other hot guys do it instead lol. Meanwhile, modern still has an exercise routine and likes to take part in the Olympics.

They both have an oral fixation but modern's isn't as extreme and smoking isn't his default method, unlike Casino Egg who smokes all the time but also uses candy a lot. They have all the same conditions including osteoarthritis but Casino Egg is at a weight where he uses a cane and other aids more often. They also take all the same medications.

They're both extremely rich because they have many successful sources of income. Casino Egg's main are his casinos while modern makes a lot from tons of different resources. Modern is probably richer and it's funny because Casino Egg is the one that throws his money around and flaunts his wealth. They both manage it well overall though and are smart in business.

They're both the same age when they meet with how their dimensions' timelines end up aligning but Casino Egg was actually born over 20 years before modern and is actually a boomer lol. So the birth year and age is one of the things that alternated in some way too but it's also technically something they have in common as they're the same age when they meet.

They both have a love for Chao and have their own special gardens full of them! They enjoy meeting and helping raise each other's. Casino Egg is delighted to be the second father and spoil modern's Chao as much as his own as he likes to throw money at everything much more than modern, despite both having enough to burn. He also sets his up for competition on his TV show.

Casino Egg's favorite colors are pink and purple with red as his next, while modern's favorite is red and his next are pink and purple with the pink clothing and occasional purple accessories he chooses after red, most notably being pajamas he's had. Casino Egg loves when modern wears pink but in public, the former mostly wears pink while the latter wears red to tell them apart.

They have the same orientations and identities and all the same pride flags apply to modern that I included in this edit, minus the leather pride because that's more modern's thing only. But most notably they both identify as bears and are both aro spec, though they're in slightly different places on it as Casino Egg is gray aro but modern isn't.

They enjoy being able to relate so much despite the slight differences in everything they do. It makes them very compatible and they mostly get along, they bicker far less than modern does with his own classic self! They also love how, slight size difference aside due to weight difference, they're almost a spitting image of each other and find each other very handsome.

It was immediate mutual attraction, though modern didn't realize and admit it's serious at first, but they were quicky playfully flirtatious as Casino Egg is with everyone and modern finds all his best counterparts attractive, due to his big ego and autosexuality. They quickly became close with friendly hugs and kisses that turned intimate, then started messing around for fun. The two big cuddly bears look cute together 🥰💜

Casino Egg likes to hear about the casinos modern has made and taken over, been banned from, and his other casino related creations like his robots. Modern is fascinated to learn about the robots Casino Egg has and how he's never used animals in his robots and he actually loves animals, having a bunch of pets while modern really isn't a fan.

Modern is interested in learning about Casino Egg's casinos and how he became so successful with them as his main focus and is interested in learning about the theme parks Casino Egg has at least invested in since he's never built any himself. Casino Egg loves hearing about modern's theme parks and says they're way more exciting than ones he's invested in and he'd love to see.

Neither care about saving the environment, though Casino Egg can like nature scenery unlike modern with his huge gardens but has no problem with most land being replaced by his casinos, clubs, studios, etc. They both have a love for beaches despite struggling with higher temperatures. Modern is delighted to go on Casino Egg's cruise ships to beautiful islands with beach for some time to relax.

Casino Egg has fun spoiling modern Egg in many more ways too, since modern loves to indulge in food and luxuries too but doesn't put quite as much money into it as Casino Egg as he prioritizes using it for his precious costly work. Casino Egg can give him the best vacations full of constant bliss and pleasure that destress him immensely and remember all the joys of life.

Casino Egg admires all the things modern Egg has accomplished. He can't fathom that he's been to space, caused tons global panic and destruction, and has tons of bases, factories, refineries, theme parks, carnivals, circuses, casinos, etc, whole armies of mass produced robots and fleets but he thinks it's amazing and he says he'd love to go see it himself someday, but they first met in Casino Egg's world.

He likes how modern is secure and confident in who he is and what he wants and demands it by taking over the world by force. Also how he's openly and boldly evil and does all kinds of crazy things with plans on a much larger scale, since he's only doing it with a more subtle and gradual process with a good guy act on the surface- but he still has exciting crime life behind the scenes. But modern's life really fascinates and excites him and he's proud.

They don't mind that they both want to take over the world because they're in different dimensions and want all counterparts across them all to be successful in their goals. And while they enjoy and prefer their own methods which are both exciting and fucked up in many different ways, they also admire each other's. They love doing crimes together and can be very sadistic so they enjoy fucked up shit together >:D

They always have each other's backs to fight and do crime and genuinely enjoy it, aside from the chore of modern having to help Casino Egg hide evidence since he's never had to do it himself. XD They're partners in crime and can tell each other their deepest secrets. Neither relate as much to Boom, they talk about and do things they can't with him. They love his differences but it's nice to know a counterpart they can relate to too.

Modern likes getting to work at Casino Egg's casino wearing this outfit and setting up hidden bases at some of them, as a Casino AU version of Gimme Shelter in Sonic Battle. There he works on helping him advance his robots and tech for the best security and he loves helping out and designing new ones with him and teaching him everything he knows, which he loves having the company to ramble and brag about it to.

They seem like really close friends that can get intimate when in public in the casinos but mostly in private. They're in a relationship but it's mostly casual fun and intimacy and works best as they're both aro spec and polyam. Only Casino Egg and Boom have a more romance coded relationship as Casino Egg is more comfortable with it to that degree than modern because the difference is he's gray aro and doesn't get bouts of repulsion like modern.

Modern isn't interested in some stuff Casino Egg and Boom do together but they make sure he doesn't feel left out by giving him lots of love with things he likes and less romance coded fun trips and activities for all three to do together, so he enjoys being in the throuple. He loves being with a big cuddly bear and a fit muscular guy at the same time, they're both very attractive to him as two of his types! Casino Egg feels exactly the same way about it too.

So yeah, Casino Egg thinks very highly of modern and adores him, he's delighted to meet someone that gets it, even though that person is himself from another dimension. He's also one of the most attractive men he's ever met and one of the only people he sees as an equal for the same reason lol. They have tons of memories dating quite a while back before meeting Boom and they'll always be very special to each other. 💕

In Supersons we see a couple of kids that are implied to be Damian and Jon's children and the boy has laser eyes and can fly, so I asume he's not adopted. The girl, who calls Bruce grandpa, can also fly, btw. So it's canon (probably by accident) that Jon can have kids and he must have married one of Bruce's kids.
