okay wait laughingstock concept Incoming: so im imagining some of the neighbors (maybe Julie & Frank) noticing that Barnaby & Howdy are a lil fruity, yk yk. and Julie's like damn, i guess we have to play matchmaker here.

so naturally they wind up getting the whole neighborhood involved. everybody's a wingman here. Poppy's dropping hints when Howdy drops off groceries, Wally is constantly asking Barnaby to go get him things from the bodega, etc etc. Howdy and Barnaby are facing this sudden change in town-wide behavior with slight concern and bemusement

eventually - lets say Julie, Sally, and Wally - get Barnaby into the bodega and then abruptly leave like "don't have too much fun without us you two *wink wink nudge nudge*". once they're gone (read: very obviously hiding outside & watching through the window) Barnaby & Howdy turn to each other like:

Barnaby: you think we should tell them we're already married?

Howdy: let them have their fun - they'll figure it out eventually

god I'm gonna have to give you a list. this was a much much longer answer because I have several paragraphs to say for Many Of My Favorites but I'll spare this blog the vomit for now until I can structure parts of it better

fave princesses: Witch and all its routes, Specter and all its routes, Nightmare and all its routes

Fave voices: Stubborn, Skeptic, Smitten. special shout-out to Opportunist for consistently having the best dialogue in the game tho, he sucks and I love him so much

Favorite routes: Razor, Thorn, Damsel

LEGITIMATELY it's so hard to pick but for the sake of giving Some explanation, the razor has to be my favorite for how it exists as the purest subversion of both the story the game is telling (which is itself a subversion of classic monsterslaying fairy tales) and it sort of has to get kind of meta, but it leans into it SO joyously. you as the protagonist being constantly split because the story plot twisted itself so fucking hard that it just. Broke Everything

and the result is absurd and horrifying and slips away from any kind of growth or cogency until both protagonists are stripped completely bare, and it's weird and it's hilarious and no one is having a good time except for the very AGENT of shifting perspectives, no longer constrained by any world or singular force that matters!

and also. How could I not pick the route that gave us The Look™.

heh the funniest thing about all the sqh stuff is I literally have most of a fic written from outsider pov which is basically sqh’s head disciple realizing he’s a god and that any prayers to him get answered (usually by sqh without him realizing it). It’s several k words now and the random sqh posting makes me hopeful some people would like it 💜

okay okay okay okay so lyney's probably got this whole thing in his mind like "theres no way aether could possibly ever love me, he's met so many other people, theres no way i could compare" but the thing is lynette sees the way aether looks at him when lyney isn't looking back and she KNOWS.

in the inventory it shows that the flowers lyney gave the traveller in his story quest is an accessory and (the next bit is my thoughts) at some point aether uses it as such and sticks it in his hair for an event because he thought it was pretty BUT lyney had attended the event!! he was going to originally go up to aether and say hi and stuff but he sees HIS FLOWERS in aethers hair and he just fucking BAILS like he cannot deal with it he's too GAY

lyney invited aether to that cafe lutece place once and aether was like yeah sure let me go tell paimon and hes like NO uh actually i. we are going alone. but aether thinks he's going to murder him or something so he declines and lyney gets all mopey for like a month or something and its only all the way in natlan that aether realizes no he was trying to ask me out on a date.
