Maybe i love unreliable narrators so much because i am an unreliable narrator in my own life. Every alter has a different perspective, everyone *thinks* they know what they're talking about when really its a limited one person perspective. The point of the disorder is so you think you know everything when in reality theres so many things you don't know you don't know. Maybe i love unreliable narrators in fiction because they say what they say and people pick apart and find the truth anyway and maybe i just like the idea of someone seeing the whole picture after talking to different alters, of someone knowing me more then an alter knows.

That awkward moment when you realize you have no support system, and things that you want to vent about have no ears to fall on. So you internalize what you would want to say to someone and run a mental simulation of what that interaction would be like and end up comforting yourself all the while feeling like you’re going to burst if you don’t spit the words out. We haven't really dissociated much. A few days ago we made a post about possible RA and how to safely look into it. We did some research into trusted sources. That was a mistake, we're okay, we're not 100% sure exactly what happened and doubt we'll ever know much beyond that the abuse happened. But we feel really off and not in a great place. We won't be making that mistake again anytime soon.

seeing people my age talk about how scared they are of memory loss, which they only associate with old age, is so surreal to see as a 24 year old who has actively experienced memory loss for a long time now

there are causes for memory loss besides dementia and alzheimer’s, i hope y’all know that. dissociative disorders, trauma, brain injuries, thyroid problems, even just stress and lack of sleep can fuck up your ability to store, process, and access memory. and that’s just a few of the many causes i can think of off the top of my head right now.

please stop treating disabled people like some scary “other” that you might become only in the distant, decades-away future. we are your age, too. you may become one of us sooner than you know. stop acting like memory loss marks the end of a life, when so many of us have so much living left to do!

Random System Stuff (us)

We have been growing a lot during the year, at the beginning we were only 9 alters now we have 70+. Some were hiding, some were caused by recent trauma, some were caused by splitting. While I don't like being in here, away from my own mother (despite her not liking my husband and wanting nothing to do with him or my children) and my friends, this is probably one of the best experiences I had.

I know I am not either of my sources (I come from greek mythology + lore olympus) but there are some memories i do love and wish I could experience again. I have made friends with individuals I would never expect myself to make friends with.
