Give me a Reason: Chapter 17 - "Thad"

Computer Literacy was blessedly easy at least, she thought as she stumbled into the classroom, taking a steadying breath.

Her eyes almost automatically glanced up at N, who had nearly always given her a wave when he saw her enter, though today it looked like he was completely absorbed in conversation with someone else, a boy in a red backwards hat, brown peeking out from underneath it. Who was leaning on the back of her usual seat with his arms crossed.

She warily approached, was she going to have to find somewhere else to sit? There were a couple of others still free but, her and N were partners, how would they still work together?

She ignored the second train of thought, the one that was making her heart ache slightly at the prospect of having to go elsewhere, bring replaced by a more interesting friend so easily.

But, she didn't even have time to question it before N noticed her, and he gave her a radiant smile. “Hey Uzi! Sorry Thad, that's her seat your leaning on.”

The boy looked back at her, his eyes a dull green, like grass that had been shocked with weedkiller. A sports jacket clung to his shoulders, ‘Copper Football Team’ emblazoned on the front in yellow letters.

“Oh Hey, I'm Thad, sorry for taking your seat.” He moved off the back of her chair, dunking his hands in his pockets as he smiled, it was friendly, not as bright as N's but still warm and inviting.

“It's… fine.” She said awkwardly, in no real mood to socialize with the pain in her side.

“N said you two went ghost hunting last weekend. It's Gnarly, you two are braver then I am. I still get scared by the raccoon that lives under my house.”

Uzi blinked, taking a moment to register that she was being talked to, and a second more for her to realize it wasn't negative.

“Oh uh- Yeah, we did.” Uzi replied after a moment of struggling to bend down to put her backpack under the table, she didn't catch the way N looked at her worried lying when she flinched. “I wouldn't call N brave though, he got scared of an itty bitty spider, hehehe.”

“Hey!” N protested, pouting but not in a way that suggested he was actually upset.

“Aw she exposed you dude!” Thad laughed, but his attention was quickly back on her. “You're Uzi right? N mentioned your name, it's super badass. I wish I shared my name with a gun.”

Uzi felt herself blush, still not used to being complimented. And she couldn't really find the words to say to it either.

“I don't think Thad's a bad name.” N came to her rescue, thankfully. And Thad looked at him deadpan.

“When you find any character named “Thaddeus McFlynn” who isn't just in the background, or doesn't die a horrible death. Let me know.”

Uzi winced, man had a name like an old british man. She didn't envy him. N just shrugged.

“Anyway, I gotta get back to class, coach will chew my ass if I'm gone too long, I just came here to pick up his prints.” He picked up a stack of what looked like sign up papers, and turned back at N.

“Hey, I'm serious about signing up for one of our teams, you'd be great!” Thad gave him a finger gun and Uzi a small salute before he left the classroom, Uzi watching as he left.

N didn't really reply to that, just looked a little sad before shaking his head and returning all his attention to Uzi.

“Sorry about that. He was talking about me joining the basketball team since I'm so tall, then we somehow got onto what we did over the weekend and… yeah.” He rambled, but Uzi just nodded softly, it wasn't like she was expecting to remain N's only freind or anything, not with his personality. It's what she expected… honestly.

“It's fine.” How much had she said that today? It felt like a lot, her side throbbed uncomfortably as she tried to adjust.

“Hey uh. I know you told me to stop asking. And I promise I totally am, but… are you okay, you've looked uncomfortable all day.” He spoke up again after a second, and Uzi felt every single muscle in her body tense up, she was fine. She'd been through worse, way worse.

She turned to glare at him, words of vitriol bubbling up in her throat, but she only halfway opened her mouth before his soft, warm expression made them die into nothing, a gentle smile worn on his face and genuine concern behind those caramel eyes.

She sighed.

“I'm fine, really, just… had a run in with someone. I've been through worse.”

“Oh… well um…” N really didn't know how to help, that answer was… vague at best. But he didn't want to scare her off from opening up more by pushing her. “Do you wanna talk about it?”

She looked at him for a beat, taking in his nervous smile.

“No.” She replied simply, and the window he'd had was abruptly shut in his face. His smile fell a little.

“You can keep distracting me though. That's helping.” She added after a minute, and his head snapped back up, she was avoiding his eyes, but he caught a small smile gracing her face.

And with another brilliant smile, thats what he did, dragging her into a conversation about dogs that she did her best to listen intently to, the pain being slightly buried under the weight of his voice.

When it was finally time to go home, Uzi was bracing herself on one of the brick pillars in front of the building, knowing all she needed was to walk home and she could treat herself with some sweet, sweet painkillers. It was just… actually getting there that was going to be the difficult part.

It wasn't that far away, but with how difficult walking had become, she knew it was going to be complete and total agnoy. Stalling, she was stalling.

What were the chances of her dad actually being home for once to drive her back? Probably slim to none, but… she could check.

She pulled out her phone, Khan being the first name in her contacts, the second, and last, being N.

Uzi: Hey Dad, just wondering if u could pick me up from school today.

She stared at the messaging app for almost a full minute with no response before she grumbled, leaning against the brick and closing her eyes for a moment.

When she did eventually bring her head back up, she realized that she'd been standing against the pillar for way too long, the second wave of busses already on their way out, meaning she'd been there for at least ten minutes.

Maybe she was in more pain than she thought…

“Uzi?” A voice caught her attention, and she spun around to be face to face with N's stupidly tall figure, Thad was right… he would be good for basketball.

She was starting to feel warm, and slightly nauseous, neither were any good signs, bit both she ignored.

“O-oh hey N.” Shit, her voice was a little shaky now too, she placed a palm onto the brick behind her, feeling a bit like she might pass out. Crap, that probably meant Lizzy pinched something in her somewhere, that was great.

“I thought you would've left already. Don't you walk home?” One of his brows were raised, he looked behind her, Tessa had pulled in and was waiting for him.

“Just… enjoying the day…?”

“Why did that sound like a question?” He asked, clearly not believing her in the slightest. Uzi blinked, trying to stifle the painful tremble in her voice.

“It didn't.” She tried, trying to begin to walk away, only to stumble and nearly trip over nothing.

Fuck

“Woah hey! Uzi!” His hands were on her now, she didn't want them to be, she didn't want to be seen as weak, but her stupid body had at this point completely betrayed her, she felt the bile begin to burn it's way into her throat.

Oh shit not he-

She scrambled over to the nearest bush, throwing his hands off her and completely emptied her bruised stomach, holding onto one of those weird round concrete nubs for support.

When she finished, she shakily stood up, wiping her mouth, a small amount of blood coming off onto the back of her hand.

Still… she did feel marginally better.

N was behind her, looking between Tessa's car and her franticly, a hand gently resting on her back. She tried to catch her breath.

She heard a car door slam and rushing footsteps coming her direction before light invaded her vision

I'm about to pass out…

She thought before she felt herself begin to slowly fall backwards, before all her senses went to static…

Ok to celebrate Valentine's day and because I'm bored here are my thoughts on as many murder drones ships as I can think of

Nuzi- nice and sweet ship, just don't think about the age gap

Vuzi- a nice and sweet enemies to lovers

Envy- honestly I don't care for this ship, I don't dislike it but it's not a ship I actively look for fanart of but I don't mind when it does show up

Nuziv or nuvi or envuzi- the best of all worlds, the best ship for these 3 characters (but please decide on a name)

Juzi- it's kinda just vuzi but they never stopped hating each other (toxic Yuri let's gooooo)

Full company/Uzi x N x V x J- honestly the idea of Uzi of all drones stop the robo genocide by banging all the dissembly drones is so funny to me

Tuzi/Tessa x uzi- I'm kinda surprised that this isn't more popular, robot lover x human hater in my opinion it could be great

Cynuzi- it's one of the few ships that involve Cyn that I like

Thuzi- nuzi for people who don't like nuzi

Uzi x Doll- honestly surprised I don't see this more often, rival X main character it's a staple for fandoms

Uzi x Lizzy- bully Yuri or something I'm running out of things to say about Uzi ships

Uzi x Uzi- ah yes because Uzi didn't have enough ships

Oilrose- it's okay but I prefer other ships more

Codegold- I don't like the ship but I also think the part of the fandom that treats it like the most toxic thing ever is dumb

Vhad- eh it's fine but feels like you just want V to be with a guy shorter than her

Nhad- kinda feels like too much of a good thing, like these 2 are too chill and nice for anything interesting to happen

Vizzy- I really like it, I love the idea of 2 people who act like they don't care about anything but also are very gay for each other

Dizzy- I am running out of ways to say that I like yuri

Jessa/rippingroyals- the best ship ever I love it so much. I love that it's either 2 gay idiots who don't know that they're gay for each other or its doomed Yuri, either way it's peak lesbians

Cyn x V- I don't really get this ship, no hate if you ship it but I personally don't vibe with it

Cyn x J- ok I kinda vibe with this but I only really like it when it's just more Jessa angst with J wanting to be with Tessa and Cyn being the closest thing to her

Cyn x thad- I've seen like 1 person ship this and it was pretty cute fan art so it's approved

Khori- I think it's sweet and nice

You were already ready to fight the gremlin if necessary-

♥︎ Well- After some time of threats and negotiations between you guys… you surprisingly became friends! You must have some charisma points you didn't even know you had lol-

♥︎ Over time you got closer and you proved to them that you weren't a very ordinary human- I mean, you were very strong! You could carry V, N and Uzi without back problems- Like, how?-

♥︎ You would sometimes just take them individually in your arms bridal style, which would make them very embarrassed-

♥︎ Have you ever fought a drone disassembly with just your bare hands and won? They would be shocked- N would admire you even more if possible… V would definitely want to try and fight you for just fun just like Uzi Lol-

♥︎ You would definitely have "anime fights" with Uzi (GOKU-), where you would practice moves together to improve your defense and fighting movements.

♥︎ N would like to hang from your arms if you let him- Like a sloth or koala-

♥︎ Uzi would never admit it, but she absolutely loves it if you just picked her up and lifted her onto your shoulders for no reason. Just because- (Actually she likes to feel tall-)

Okay so... I was doing a md rewatch before ep 7, and I noticed something in ep 4 that I NEVER noticed before.

In the scene where V covers up Uzi, when she sits down, I always thought she was frowning. Cuz like in ep 3 she's starting to realize that worker drones don't actually care about death anymore or smth like that.

BUT NO

SHE'S ACTUALLY SMILING IN THE SECOND IMAGE IM GONNA BE SICK

And after noticing that I started thinking back on her behavior with Uzi and realized how much she actually cares about her.

Look at her smile. She's starting to care about the workers smmmm Im crying

Okay now for Vuzi. In ep 4 V initially saw her as just a "purple thing", later on as Cyn. But probably N saying "what did I say about antagonizing her?" got her thinking. What if she was really antagonizing her? That's why she covered her with the teacher, and that's why she smiled.

Now, episode 5 doesn't have much about them. We know that V remembers stuff from her time as a worker, so we know that she got once possessed by Cyn. She would be the only drone ever to understand what Uzi is going through. (another reason why she protected her in ep 4).

This reflects in ep 6. When Alice cuts Uzi's finger she can be seen flinching.

Idk about you, but it's kinda strange for V, the most insane out of the trio, to flinch when someone's finger got cut off.

This further proves just how much V started to care about Uzi. Same when Alice and Beau died and she was trying to escape the Sentinels. She immediately rushed to save Uzi, even if she just witnessed her getting fully possessed for 5 good seconds by Cyn

She didn't have to save her. She could've ran away, leaving Uzi to be killed by the next sentinel that passed by. But she didn't. She brought her back to N and Tessa, holding her tightly

And of course.

When they saw the Doll trap.

V immediately went to protect Uzi, getting extremely worried too when she was about to use her solver

This shows just how V started to like Uzi. She initially saw her as a thread, another Cyn, a thing and a monster. But after the sky therapy she probably saw herself in Uzi. Someone who's always been alone, someone who the solver can control however it wants. A poor possessed worked, confused and scared.

Moving to her sacrifice. The very first time V called Uzi by name instead of dumb nicknames. Immediately before she was smiling after N said that they still needed her. But she didn't believe him fully. They could do well without her, she probably thought. She had done nothing but cause troubles with Uzi. She wanted to make it right

Giving her full trust to Uzi, giving her life to Uzi. She was literally half possessed by Cyn but V still decided to trust her. And then she smiled at her.

That smile, immediately after the "I trust you" meant a lot coming from V. That smile was to assure Uzi that she doesn't see her as an enemy anymore.

Okay rant is over because I'm tearing up.

aaaaaaaaa time to write once more- i missed being able to type away like the lil shit i am-

anyhow- okay lets see- gonna add some things here- tbh my ideas was mostly for Jenvy ideas mainly- but i guess ill fit Uzi in there lol

The polycule is essentially formed around Uzi pulling them back together-

J's original reason for siding with Cyn which was rooted in fear- was on the basis that she still had her team on her side so she could keep them safe and so theyd have eachother to rely on even after Cyn destroys everything. she did not however, account for Uzi coming along and messing everything up and ruining her team's alignment while she was "dead".

the entire reason J tried to kill N or V at any time was cuz she knew a clone of them would be sent back anyway- she has basically become desensitized towards death in general given she had also died around 12 times herself [canon]- V and N try to help her through this- during which they also deal with Vs behavior and Ns trauma too.

to communicate with J they often had to spar with her- seeing as she hated talking about feelings- but this became their own thing they all did afterwards to unwind and communicate- as J opened up a lot easier after feeling like she was reached out to.

Uzi and J bond over anime and gaming- the latter being somewhere J could actually use her anger on more effectively XD

they all like reading books every now and then where one would read and the others snuggle or cuddle- they take turns. [this is from their manor days]

J is... unable to emote or show emotion easily and it eats her alive. she can't show the appropriate needed emotion to the mood of the room and it makes her have breakdowns- occasionally throw up- as though you are desperately trying to cry but the tears wont come so you try heaving it out- make yourself fit in and look normal by trying to FEEL something- but she cant. J is a dated business model drone- custom made for office work- she was made to be this way- Cyn didn't change her- and she grows to hate herself for it. so when a situation happens that she doesn't know how to react, she leaves or hides- until N,V or Uzi find her- usually disassociating or somewhat catatonic.

Uzi occasionally feels out of place with the group, as though she's just being a literal 4th wheel, since they have history together. the others try to show her that she is important to them each in their own ways-

addressing the elephant in the room- yes, it took a long time for N and J to come to terms with eachother- J eventually accepting that her original reason for hating N [him being better than her or preferred over her esp by Tessa] wasn't important anymore- and tries to appreciate him and V and Uzi more in whatever is left of her life.

make no mistake V and J are still very much bitchy on a surface level- just cuz they are all growing close does not mean they are all now lovey dovey with eachother or sweet and character-redemption-ed with everyone around them. therefore: "playful catfights" >:3 !

V and Uzi tease J alot- this is one of the reasons why J found more comfort with N- not gonna tell him to his face tho lol.

J teaches N to draw better and they bond over that alot-

Uzi and J like attention alot- and they wanna get it by being as wordless as possible- very cat coded.

Uzi, V and N like to drag J into doing more normal things that have less to do with work. so far J has mostly shown some interest in writing and maybe poetry but she WILL shoot your head off if you try to read her stuff-

J's first kiss was with Uzi- N and V having kissed once back at the manor being eachothers first kiss. J thinks V kisses the best tho lol.

N and V like to cuddle a lot- J and Uzi are usually dependent on mood-

Finding the absolute Solver Idia is able to patch her up quickly, causing her to keep her powers and keeping her lower body as it is till large and long yet she still needed to project her lower body but in return the absolute solver is sealed keep in her data controlling one of the camera attached to her. But from her memory bank they learned how Cyn!Yuu ended up in twst and bout the worker drones, copper nine, last episode fight, uzi, V, Thad, the red eyed sentinel big brother N and the disassembly drones and the horrors they had witness through your eyes seen and the mistreatment of her, the other drones and Tessa by the Eliot family and humans of her world etc etc.

They never would of expected it. Idia having you sit down ignihyde studying your entire being with all the memories locked up and how your eyes were hollow as you were shut down charging in Orthos charging port made him feel sick. So when he saw a file with complete memories scrolling through it he couldn't help but gag this was worse then any video-game cutscene he'd ever witnessed. "What the fuck is this!? What type of boss level is going on- Man I can't handle this! the headmage owes me so much with this" The countless of life's tortured, gutted, and the endless amount of suffering. Frequent scenes of robots beheading other robots, Frequent stylized robotic violence and gore. Decapitations, robots that are impaled, etc. Most of the graphic violence is offscreen with over-the-top blood spurts, but in certain 'episodes' Idia would call them that he all labeled them like "Cabin Fever" and "Dead End", the violence can be brief but very graphic. Even though the violence is "morally" reduced due to the robots having oil as blood it still made Idia feel sick. Ortho didn't feel better as he was a robot himself a cyborg a shell with sentient life so being beside Idia studying and digging through your body studying it taking the files out one after another gutting your shut down body made everything feel sick. Over-the-top robot implosions are present in almost every episode. Most of them are brief, other are graphic. Dismemberment and extremely mutilated robot corpses and organs are present in almost every memory ranging from piles of dead, dismembered robots to sudden beheadings, dismemberment, disemboweling, and more. Robots die in almost every way possible. They are torn apart horizontally with organs falling out. Wires and pieces laid upon floors, Decapitation with gore detail, blown up with body parts flying everywhere, dismemberment, stabbing, head getting crushed or shot at point-blank, etcetera. He was told by Crowley to learn about you to understand what had happened after everything and the pale 3rd year was horrified. What you had told Idia and others about your world were drones and what he learnt snooping through your memories after you had whopped his ass when he over blotted was that drones have no blood. Instead, they have and bleed oil. In certain episodes, human blood, gore, and dismemberment are shown graphically. In the episode 7, there's a flashback scene where the Disassembly Drones are eating the human corpses... So when Idia had to have all the house wardens gather it was quite a shock for them to have Idia out of all of them to reach out to all of them as well as inviting malleus. So with how fast idia was trying to talk and not go into full stumbling ortho would just show a giant holographic screen of your whole entire memories what happened with your body how to maintain you and make sure that issues like these don't happen that you'd be stuck in ignihyde for the next couple of weeks leaving Grim in the care of heartslabyul.

Different reactions though escaped from each housewarden some out of shock, fear, disgust, and most of all Horror. Riddle vomited when seeing the memories witnessing it made him feel ill "This is wretched to watch- The queen of hearts herself wouldn't match such acts!" Vil was holding his head in his hands gripping his hair staring at the holograms with pure wide eyes "That spudling potato... what else have they been doing?""That ain't no herbivore with how they act thats a blood thirsty carnivore through and through" Leona had let Kalim grip onto him with shaky pupils. Kalim trying not to panic at the fact if this was how you acted before getting into twisted wonderland would you have done the same to them? "They wouldn't do that right..? ehe they've listened to all of us and helped us out so this wouldn't do much harm right?" Azul nearly vomited along side riddle with witnessing the bloodshed and acts he understood how the profit was good but the way he saw how it all unfolded made him question everything "When I said the clever should lead I wouldn't expect to know that they would do something like this to lead... I can't seem to *gag* wrap my head around it" Malleus was silent but with how outside the windows a storm was brewing with rain said enough "So creation of man seems to have such... fearsome tactics they weren't afraid of me but I'd expect that to be because they didn't know who I was, and seeing such sights seems to be quite... horrifying" Idia himself was trying not to panic and plotting in his mind while explaining the entire thing without jumbling up after awhile had everybody question You entirely especially when witnessing the fight that lead you to ending up in twisted wonderland. "I put all my engineering know-how into Ortho. Gotta keep researching to make sure he doesn't grow obsolete and I'll do the same for [name]"

Maybe you had some internal faults. A hardware failure, a software issue, something that made fixing you not worth the trouble but you were Important too important to be thrown away after everything.

Idia spent time on fixing you for the past weeks having permission from Crowley with the help of Ortho and other ignihyde students but the amount of times you may or may not have nearly broke the whole dorm is technology. So here was Idia watching as the progress bar ticked up at a slow but steady pace, nothing to do now but let the system handle itself watching the sequence hit 100%, and the diagnostic program kicked in automatically. A list of systems appeared flashing red causing Idia and other students to panic as the errors kept piling up, row after row of critical failures.

The screen flickered violently, and for a brief moment, a strange symbol appeared—something jagged and unnatural. Yet no matter what Idia had to make sure you were salvaged to make sure that no matter what that you'd be contained. After weeks of trial and error taking longer then usual it worked. Idia made a patch to block and keep the absolute solver contained properly even though you get to keep the perks giving and having to still need to project your lower body you always knew one of the cameras apart of your body that the solver was still peering... watching everything.

i've seen enough people crying over this uzi sacrifice scene in ep7 but i don't think enough people actually analyzes esp uzi and N's character (atleast from what i've seen??) and my god i need to rant because this scene the more i watch it the more it ABSOLUTELY destroys me (save me nuzi save me...)

alright, quick recap of the characters so i can later explain my points better

pilot uzi had no one to rely on, treated as a freak by her community, neglected by her father and overall completely isolated with the world. She had no one but herself, that's why she never allows herself to show any vulnerabilities so people won't take advantage of her and literally dismisses her own feelings and coping mechanisms as "angsty hormonal teen feelings" and developed a inferiority complex of wanting to prove herself and be recognized. Meeting N was more than just a change of trajectory in her life, he helped her in so, SO many ways from making her realize that her feelings are validated and it's okay to lean on others when you need it the most, to be vulnerable- something that she desperately needed but was never provided- to helping her just.. overall improve herself and promise that he'll always be there when she needs him the most. N is so integral in uzi's life, all she needed was someone to understand her, and there he was.

meanwhile N is always treated as a worthless nobody by people around him which is very evident in the pilot with his interactions between J and V. He clearly has issues when it comes to his own self worth and completely robbed of autonomy. All he ever wanted was to be useful and seen by others, which leads to him going along with other's insane crazy ideas without questioning morals and rights or wrongs. Uzi was the one that helped him find a ground he can stand on and finally being able to defend himself and what he thinks is worth protecting, as well as being a genuine friend he can finally talk and bond with after being ignored for so long.

and back to the scene. The reason why this scene hurts so much for me is that uzi finally found someone so important to her that she's willing to sacrifice herself and thanked N for "everything" he's ever done. He gave her everything that she could possibly ask for, she was content. Uzi even used her solver powers to push N away to make sure he wasn't in danger or an attempt to save her. The fact that she even thanked N, making it sounds like her final words to him implies that she was okay with dying and giving up her own life just really says how much N meant to her. She couldn't have done all of this without meeting him, to be selfless and sacrifice yourself for someone you truly love.

for N he's probably absolutely devastated, especially after V's sacrifice the ep before. Both of his closest friends sacrificed also for the sake of saving him, he literally could not do anything but watch them disappear in front of him. He'd probably blame himself so much for failing to save them and the fact that he has self harm tendencies every time he makes a mistake... N is definitely VERY TRAUMATIZED from this and also needs time to heal as well.

overall im very normal about nuzi these 2 will be the death of me i love them so much. both of them meeting each other was the best thing that ever happened to them and watching them grow and develop is so 😭😭😭

Okay, so I've been getting a lot of questions about the Swap!AU. The most common ones are how Episode 4 would play out, and the other common ones are how the adults are swapped around! This is the one I struggled with the MOST.

First up is Nori!! She's swapping in Tessa's place and has become the human from the mansion! She's a lot rowdier and rebellious, though she does listen to her parents at the end of the day. Her rebellion comes in the form of dragging new drones to the mansion all the time. She dotes over Uzi the most, though, and they tend to act very similar.

Then there's Khan, who swaps with Alice. He's a scavenger now, basically having her same role in the Cabin Fever labs. A lot more feral than usual, but god knows he's very handy and building and repairing using drone parts. Maybe he'll even make a door.

Tessa's a drone now! I've decided N and Cyn are officially siblings, which makes Tessa their mom in the place of Khan! Leader of the WDF, she does whatever she can to protect the colony. She believes the Murder Drones are beyond helping and would have them all killed if she could. She's very playful and fun, but she's often got too much tunnel vision to listen to N's request to reason with the Murder Drones. This is mostly based on how she acted in Episode 6.

LAST THING TO NOTE:

As for Tessa's partner, who'd be in the place of Nori, I've considered a few options. A poll on twitter said I should make an OC for that role, which i'm so down to do! A few people said to just put Alice there, too.

But I'm considering making Alice the aunt of N and Cyn, with Beau being their cousin. In a roundabout way, Alice and Beau would replace Yeva and her husband, just being mother and son instead of course. This way Cyn would actually be trying to avenge family, since I imagine she would've witnessed Thad murder them.

I dunno, that idea's still up in the air :'D

Out of curiosity, how do you interpret Uzi’s relationship with the Solver post-canon? Personally, the way I like to see it is that when the Absolute Solver fully assimilates someone (like Cyn) they become an extension of itself, a means to interact directly with our plane of reality, and it assimilates by consuming. As we all know by now, Uzi ate the Solver before it could eat her, so by its own rules she has now assimilated it, and the Solver has become an extension of Uzi rather than the other way around; even if it were to go and do its own thing, it would subconsciously be under the influence of Uzi.

Sorry about the ramble there, but I’m curious to see how different other people’s interpretations are, since the finale was so open ended about it.

It’s complicated to say the least.

I imagine she definitely loves the added mobility and the power she has access to. It’s also very relieving to know that she and her friends can no longer be possessed against their will.

However I imagine it’s also very tiring at the same time. She still has to drink oil to keep herself from committing genocide. She still has to constantly keep herself in check because one wrong move and she could become an eldritch horror that no one would be able to take down. Maybe not for lack of trying, but N would probably feel so much worse having to try and kill Uzi instead of J.

At the end of the day though, Uzi still gets more tools in her arsenal to be an edgy little gremlin so she’s mostly okay. Plus, she’s got N and V and her parents now so she’s not facing stuff alone anymore.

And then there’s Cyn. In all honesty, I believe the Solver itself is dead otherwise Uzi would have been possessed again by now. The entity talking through her tail is most likely the real Cyn before she was taken over.

I imagine N is probably thrilled to see his little sister alive but theres so much trauma between them and Cyn that any conversation feels like stepping on eggshells. It’ll take a long time for them to heal and trust each other again.

i was contemplating the role of basil for a while since canon cyn only had so many friends,, so i put uzi in there because (bear with my logic) canonically she wanted to kill humans and the DD trio wouldn't hurt tessa since she saved them?? so i used uzi instead because it was that or an oc,,

anyway !!! heres the part where i explain personalities because there will inevitably be some personality swaps here and there from the actual omori characters to this au characters,,

tessa is pretty much like mari and holds the group together like glue, helpful and kind and always trying her best for everybody else

N and kel are also pretty similar, though after N grows up he takes on more of hero's vibe? taking after the job of tessa in order to make sure that everyone is okay/coping and bringing cyn out of her house (following sunny's route)

V and aubrey are also pretty similar, after tessa's death she tries first to make up for the missing spot that tessa filled but it doesnt work and everyone drifts away, and she grows resentful that nobody was there because everybody coped differently,, speaking of which she does in fact get new friends (following aubrey becoming the leader of the hooligans, tho i probably wont use that group name,, haven't decided on it yet)

J and hero,, arent very similar? taking hero's spot, shes more sarcastic and unafraid to speak her mind as a child but she toned down the meanness because tessa was around. after tessa's death she straight up drifts away and took the first chance she got to move away to study. i'm contemplating adding slight j x tessa here but im not sure yet

uzi and basil are also not very similar,, the only thing ill make similar is their personalities when they were kids with uzi being more uh? gentle? in a sense?¿ reverse uzi,, after tessa's death she distances herself away too in guilt and also becomes over defensive

Oil is Thicker Then Blood (Part 92)

N landed on the nest in a panic, vision blurry with tears as he stripped his mate of her frozen clothes and wrapped them both in as many blankets as possible, using himself as a space heater against her. Tera staring curiously at the flurry of movement, growing worried.

She was so cold that it brought his own internal temperature down before he began to warm her up, her body shivering and breaths coming out in shallow pants, her eyes were knitted shut, and gripping desperately onto him.

“N…?” She asked eye creaking open and voice filled with static, He shushed her gently.

“You're okay… I'm here.” He murmurs, wrapping around her tightly, his eyelights blinking back worried tears as he runs his fingers through her hair.

“T-the baby…” She croaks, tears filling her eyes as well, his core drops and shatters into a thousand peices.

“L-let me see, maybe they're okay.”

He backs away slowly, just enough to see her core resting in her chest, it's still white… but it's dimming, purple beginning to bleed through, as the white glow grows dimmer and dimmer.

“No… nonono…” He whines, he's lost on what to do, is there anything he could do? His hand grazes across the glass covering, resting on it, trying to feel the little one's corebeat along with Uzi's, Uzi's was slower then normal already, and he struggled to find any sign of their child's corebeat… until he did; it was faint and much too slow, wavering in and out of being nothing at all.

Uzi's gaze was locked on N's expression, watching as his eyelights hollowed and his body shook, tears hit her harder, sobs working their way put of her throat.

“Oh my god…” She chokes out, and N is forced to watch helplessly as the white light dies out and the tiny little corebeat peeters out into nothing, tears stream down N's visor as he closes his eyes, it feels like his very soul gets ripped in half.

“Uzi… I-I” He can't finish the sentence, emotion clogging his throat as She throws herself deeper into his arms, full body sobs wracking her body as they both lie there, N says nothing more, only lets her cry as he does the same into her shoulder.

“I'm sorry… I'm so sorry…” He weeps unfettered, body trembling like a leaf, they lost them… they lost their baby…

Uzi can't reply, she only buries herself deeper into his shoulder like she wants to dissappear there, He's felt pain before, but nothing compared to this, nothing at all.

He rests his hands over her midsection, forehead resting on hers as everything around them seems to completely dissappear into shadows.

Tera is… confused. Mama and Papa are crying, and she's never seen either of them so upset before, she crawls up to her mother, hands resting near her father's hands.

She chirps softly, cocking her head up at both of them, but neither seems to notice. She lays her head down on her mother's midsection, eyes closing in an attempt at comfort.

…

Until something kicks her head gently, causing her to yelp. She startles, blinking.

She's hit again, something is moving around in her mom's midsection and is doing its danmdest to knock her off it. She growls, eyelights coming to glare angrily.

“T-Tera… come on sweet pea, it's n-not playtime…” Her father comes to try and pick her up, but she just keeps growling, staring at where the movement was with great vitriol.

“What's got you… so…” He trails off, moving his hand.

His face breaks into a relived smile, overjoyed at feeling the baby kicking, he nearly screams.

“Uziii!” He yelps, grabbing her hands and placing them where his was, she's confused at first, but then she feels it, the gentle movement underneath her hand and the sporadic tiny kicks that follows.

She can barely breathe she's so happy, she turns and kisses her boyfriend as hard as she can, which he returns with just as much fervor and the rapid wagging of his tail.

When they part they're both smiling, tears still running down both their visors but now out of pure relief, N leans down into her stomach.

“Oh you had us so worried!” He says, which causes Uzi to laugh through tears, and laugh even harder when he places a flurry of kisses there.

“N! That tickles!” She yelps, lightly shoving his face away, which only causes them to embrace again.

“We're all okay…” He mumbles, and he feels her nod rapidly in response, he exhales, like he was holding his breath the entire time.

“Mama! Papa!” Tera squeals in indignation, not liking being confused or left out, she's immediately picked up and hugged tightly by both of their parents. She grumbles still, but is much happier with this arrangement.

“We should tell her now… she can feel them.” Uzi mutters, still recovering from the rollercoaster of emotions she was just sent on, she grabs N's hand.

“Yeah…”

He takes his daughters hands and places them on her mother, making Tera cock her head and look up at him. A force kicks her hand.

“You feel that Jellybean?” He asks, and she nods, eyelights wide.

“That's your little sibling, you're gonna be a big sister.” He smiles, and she looks back down, tilting her head in both directions like a confused puppy.

“Sib-ling?” She mouths, having no understanding of the word to know what that means.

“That's right, they'll call us Mama and Papa too, they're just… not quite ready to see us yet.” Uzi tries to help explain, but once she noticed… the kicking was a little uncomfortable.

Tera takes a moment to think.

“Shy?” She asks, looking up at her mom. And Uzi smiles back.

“Yeah… you could say that.” She chuckled, leaning back against her boyfriends arm.

Tera nods softly, eyelights furrowing in deep thought, her tongue sticking out.

“Brother.” She says suddenly, catching them both off gaurd.

“What?”

“Sibling, Brother.” She said again, and the parents both looked at each other in surprise.

“How do you know that Jellybean?” N asks, but all the ten month old responded with was a shrug.

“Her guess is as good as ours.” Uzi hums with a shrug of her own, and the couple relaxed into their nest with a moment of silence.

“I'm gonna kill J if I see her again.” Uzi says abruptly, and N doesn't even move in response, just shakes his head.

“Not if I get to her first…”

Pain (Tera Doorman Character Study)

(Hey! Mod here! I've decided to dump these character studies here instead of my main, it just makes more sense. I promise it's the last bit of angst for her... moving onto other members of the cast next.)

The solver is a perfectly fine condition to live with 85% of the time, Tera thinks. It's made her tall, given her access to weapons and abilities she otherwise wouldn't have, and keeps her connected to the rest of her family.

Sure it has downsides. She overheats faster, is kinda scary looking compared to other drones. And there's… the rage. But she feels fine most of the time.

Most of the time…

Because there's one more- much more physical downside.

It starts in the morning, the creaking and groaning of her frame as she gets up to start the day, most of it is simply the overwork of her joints, it's a busy day of school, then patrol, and sometimes she'll pull an all nighter or two…

The majority of the time, the stiffness works out as she gets moving, something not even noticed as she goes about her daily activities.

But sometimes…. sometimes it doesn't.

Those are the days where she wakes up with her back- her wing scars, stinging and sensitive like they're fresh, her back and shoulders sore and aching- and those are the bad days.

Where any minor touch to her back sends jolts of pain to her core, even the rubbing of her clothing sets it off, leading to less layers- or no layers of she can get away with it. If it's a lazy day, it's not so bad; it's just her hanging out shirtless in her room until the sensitivity dies down.

If it's not a lazy day, it sucks a little more. School has the desk digging into her back, her clothes are irritating at best, and patrols are an inch shy of driving her crazy; especially if there's actually something to fight. But it's still manageable.

And then there are the really bad days…

Where she'll wake up overheating, clammy and still exhausted. The scars that marked her wings becoming seeping wounds, inflamed and angry, bleeding out onto her bedsheets and soaking through her clothes.

Which leads us into now, her ripping off her pajama shirt with extreme prejudice as her back leaked oil, closing her eyes as her hands tremble and she bites her lip to keep from voicing the scream that wants to claw it's way out of her throat.

On the really bad days, it becomes something she can't hide, despite her efforts. School's a no go, if someone even politely touches her shoulder it would end in her upping her body count against her will. Patrols and Hunts were similarly impossible- combat is rough with two open wounds on your back.

So she calls in sick, strips, and lays belly down in utter misery until her own body decides it's done mauling her back and they heal back over, letting her continue her life normally.

Which is what she's doing now, listening to music with her head hanging off the side of the bed, writhing in pain. Four different fans blowing on her from different directions to keep her temperature down, and a stockpile of oil N had put put for her the second he'd caught wind of one of her “Bad Days.”

There's a knock on the door.

“Hey Jellybean. How's it going?” It's Uzi, she walks in without waiting for Tera to answer, making her roll her eyes and grumble.

“That's a dumbass question.” Tera snapped, feeling her scars throb with a wave of pain. “Sorry. That was rude.” She apologizes a second later.

“Yeah, but it was a valid answer.” Uzi just hums, not insulted in the slightest. “Guess it hasn't let up any?” She asks, using the solver to pick up any carelessly thrown articles of clothing.

“No.” Tera grumbles back, muffled under the pillows she's stuffed her head in.

“Do you need anything?” Her mother asks, and Tera can't help but smile a little.

“I'm okay. It'll be over soon.” Is her response, it's deadpan, thankfully Uzi speaks angsty teen.

“Mm. “I'm okay" is a complete lie. I'm sitting here watching you writhe like you got kicked in the core.” Uzi said back, very much feeling like she was having a conversation with herself; but younger and somehow even more angsty.

“Be better if I had no nagging.” Tera grunted, giving her mom an impressive side eye. Uzi just chuckled, “That's fair…”

“Just shout if you need anything okay?” Uzi said softly, walking up to her much taller daughters figure laying on the bed and pressing a light kiss on her forehead.

“Ew gross.” Tera mumbled, but her tail still wagged regardless. “I'm literally almost eighteen.”

“Yeah? Tough, if I'm able to take care of you you bet your ass I am.” Uzi snapped back, “I'm your mom, it's my job.”

She then sighed again, “Try and get some sleep, I know you didn't get any, okay?”

Uzi ruffled her daughters hair, she hadn't bothered putting it up that morning, so it just hung around her limply.

“Yeah. I'll Try, thanks mom.” Tera replied, as Uzi walked out; fresh pile of laundry suspended in the air above her with the solver.

It took a couple of minutes before she decided to wrangle herself out of bed, she was starting to be able to feel the oil stick to her back, so it was time to wash off… great.

She got to the bathroom, already wearing nothing but a pair of shorts she'd probably stolen from Rad at some point, and sat on the stool there.

A drone bathroom was different then a human one, no toilet for starters, but there was a washbasin, really just a big wooden tub filled with collected rainwater and heated with salvaged heating coils.

She grabbed a rag and braced herself, dousing it in warm water before reaching back and beginning to wipe away the oil.

She winced, making a pained hum as the rag made contact, pushing more oil up to the surface and running down her silicone. She took a deep breath- and kept going.

It was a slow process, filled with whimpers and grunts of pain and small breaks to catch her breath. It would have probably been leagues better if she had someone to help, but she didn't trust anyone else to not be too rough, or even see her like this to be frank.

When she was done, the rag was stained with black and red and the washbasin had a thin veneer of oil shimmering on the top and she sighed and held her visor.

Most days were better.

Today was not.

...Hey so like. Who's J's admin now?

We know that the disassembly drones' previous admin was Cyn. I personally think Cyn and the Solver are two separate entities, and I have reason to believe that's true for a few reasons, but That's a later rant. Let's assume Cyn herself (≠ Solver) has 0 control over the drones and is only listed as their admin because the Solver's primary host was Cyn, who was completely unresponsive on her own. But now the Solver's primary host is Uzi, who is still VERY MUCH responsive on her own. Now, N and V were already changed to have Uzi as their admin by Uzi's own hand. But... did J's admin also change due to the host switch?

Basically. Prior primary Solver host = Cyn, Cyn = DD admin, [EP. 8 OCCURS], Cyn is destroyed, Uzi = current primary Solver host, Uzi = DD admin???? And if so. You guys think J experienced any significant change?

I think we have enough evidence to conclude that J didn't LOVE being a suck-up to the Solver, she did it to gain better circumstance and maybe to protect herself from getting hurt because people above her have only ever hurt her COUGH sorry that's a later post as well but anyway, it's likely it was either threatening her or just generally being a dick. Suddenly the space in her head where there was previously a manipulative threatening asshole is clear because the Solver is being actively reigned in by Uzi. It makes me wonder, if my theory is right... would J head to the outpost to get some answers? Possibly even closure?

Even if she didn't/doesn't, it's interesting to me to imagine J's reaction to suddenly having a new admin - and knowing her, I'm pretty damn sure she'd notice pretty quick. I imagine she's not exactly fond of not knowing everything about her own systems... y'know, to ensure efficiency remains maximized! Yeah...

Also also just a little extra thought about this - Cyn's heart was destroyed, effectively destroying Cyn, who we can assume was J's admin, yeah? We cool on that? Okay so take this next bit with a grain of salt as I'm no computer girly and know nothing about how this works, BUT, if she suddenly loses the piece of code/program she was dependent on for normal operation, would that not lead to her Error 606ing somewhere? Which we know didn't happen because we see her up and active in the post credits, and also, typically when/if the Solver fully takes over, it goes to constitute its material (eldritch) form, right? So J HAS to have an admin, and I only see one drone as a possible candidate. But, just a little ramble for you on this fine Thursday afternoon. Food for thought, if you will. Or oil. Whatever it is you consume <3

Okay but seriously, it was awesome watching the finale. While I'm more of a new fan, I definitely found myself growing attached to these characters and the story and just all of it.

As sad as I am that I didn't get into it sooner, I don't think little me would have been able to handle it very well (⁠´⁠-⁠﹏⁠-⁠`⁠；⁠)

Plot: You and Wade were training for the funsies, even though you weren't taking care of yourself properly.

Warnings: gn!reader, no use of y/n, the reader here is quite good with Hammers, quite short, brief usage of Y/N, 4th wall breaking, I'm bad at writing fighting scenes

"Uzi time baby!" He said right before he starts shooting his bullets at you. Wow, already? Also did he steal that line from ladypool?

"Hey! You promised no guns!" You shouted as you avoided the bullets. He Snickers as he shoots, shoots and shoots.

"uh, no I didn't!" He said acting much more dumber then usual. "Sigh, maybe you're just off balanced." He said tauntingly, and then you pull off your magical hammer thingy and hit Wade like he is a baseball.

"Never knew I was." You mockingly replied to his comment, while hearing Wades whines and grunts of 'oooww...' , you hold the hammer over your shoulder, almost balancing off but still standing.

"That's cheating!" He whined and you just mockingly stuck out your tounge at him and then you charge at him with full confidence and he managed to dodge your attack at him, making your weapon stuck to the wall.

"ugh, damn it!" You said as you tried to get your giant hammer out before Wade 'playfully" hits you. As you were pushed away from your weapon you hit the ground, you groaned in pain. "Ow.." you said sarcastically.

"no more weapons for you, baby! Just according to my plan!" He said as he moves Infront of you. He didn't plan shit. You tried looking at him but your vision was kind of blurry and it gave you a bit of a headache. You shake your head.

Wade slightly shifts his position to a more guard down type of way, he is a bit worried. "You alright babe? We can stop if you want." He reassures you.

"what? No! I'm not finished with you yet!" He laughed a bit, rubbing your eyes trying to stand up but alas your body failed you and you passed out (how convenient). This shocked Wade, he drops his gun and rushes towards you.

"Y/N? Y/N!" He nervously shakes your body. He checks your pulse. 'a heartbeat ..that's good.' he sighs. He picks your body up in bridal style and carries you.

You wake up on Wades bed, you were covered in a blanket and Wade out of suit is right beside you.

"My word! My love your awake!" He dramatically commented on your arrival from your land of dreams. "I was worried that the author would make this an angst story." He jokes, you just look at him confused.

You rubbed your eyes and you look at Wade. "What happened?" Your head still hurts.

"You passed out." Wade said sternly but still somewhat silly. "And vy circumstances, I figured you weren't taking care of yourself as much." He give you a tray of chicken noodle soup, a classic! Medicine and.. WATER

"So from now one you better drink your water!" He huffed, you groaned at that request "Ah! Ah! No complaining, you bought this upon yourself babe." He said before he kissed your cheek teasingly.

"this stupid liquid is my worst enemy." You said frustrated as you look at the liquid Infront of you, Wade pats you on the back reassuringly.

OMGOMGOMGKFMSGSKB IM FREAKING OUT IT'S HERE!!! MURDER DRONES EPISODE 7 TEASER!! EEEEEE!!! I went frame by frame and picked out some cool scenes I wanted to scream about, so get ready for a bunch of crazed ramblings and some theories !! (Long post ahead, folks)

Okay first of all- just- the lighting in these shots ✨ simply gorgeous... Also that "poster" thing in the background of the first image is very interesting.. obviously it says HELP (though that looks scrawled-on afterward with probably blood), and it looks like there could be possibly eyes? This thing. What is this thing. Probably part of the Solver, as it's all organic and eldritch-y, and it has veins. It looks lit from behind, almost like we're looking out from the inside of something? I think it's possible somebody gets dragged into one of those physical manifestations of the Solver, and this could be their perspective from inside it! Oooor we're looking at it from the outside, and there's something glowing inside the mass.

Next up, these guys??? So many possibilities here... They look like humans, but they aren't necessarily so, just like the "Tessa Isn't Human" theory. And from what little you can see in the teaser, they are moving in an odd way- suspicious. I originally thought they could be manifestation of the Solver or something, created to confuse, but after considering it for a bit, I realized it's more likely this scene is a flashback to when the core collapsed.

Okay. This shot is a bit confusing; can't really make out what's going on- To me, it looks like something is possibly exploding? And the red string things are lasers or something? Also the blobs in the foreground definitely look like Solver hands, but- that's all I've got for this one

WHAT DID UZI SEE. ON THAT TV SCREEN. HELP SHE LOOKS SO TRAUMATIZED- Also also wanted to point out the "freaking ninja star" on the ground.. little callback there :,)

Small thing, this is clearly the same scene from the GLITCHx 7/8 teaser, but it's the shot from a little bit before the clip in that teaser plays. I wonder how much control Uzi has over herself at this point... These robots are going to so much pain someone help them

OMGOMGOGMOGMOMG YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HYPED I WAS WHEN I SAW THIS- WE'RE GETTING MURDER N YALL!!! FIRST TIME SINCE THE PILOT EEEE!!! Oh my gosh I just KNOW it's going to be an emotional response to something horrible happening- something to do with Uzi getting fully possessed, or almost dying, or N THINKING she's dead, or just all the stress of EVERYTHING, along with V's (hopefully not actually) death, and it just pushes him to his breaking point OH AND all the repressing he's been doing this whole time WILL NOT BE HELPING WITH THAT !!! I'm SO EXCITED TO FIND OUT AAAA-

Oh it could also be that N gets factory-reset, causing him to actually lose his memories or something, which is AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PILE OF ANGST, but personally I hope/think it'll be closer to the first one... It seems very likely to me that all of the stuff N's been going through (and how he's just been pretending everything's fine) would catch up to him, and it would lead to an "outburst" of everything he's been bottling up. PLUS do y'all remember that merch ad?? I know it was just a promo, but merch stuff has been shown to be kind of relevant to the plot in the past soo... yeah I'm feeling very good about this theory-

Okay so this is the same guy from the earlier image with all the humans- That feels notable, like they're going to be important. And is it just me and my poor video quality or does the Sentinel hand look glitchy?? Could it have turned on the humans like the one that turned on "Tessa" in Cabin Fever??
