Good morning, StudyBlrs. EXAM DAY: I woke up early today to revise some questions that might be asked in my surgery exam. I go to classes and I try to understand what the teacher is focusing on more. I always ask questions. I will let you know how it went.
I had no coffee today because I have noticed that on exam days I already have my adrenaline and energy up. So, I had a cup of tea and my banana for snack two hours after my proper breakfast. @studywith-hada made this cool study with me video and I have used it today. So cool.
TODAY: I decided to start my day with Neurophysiology. I made a three tasks list and I will be using (as usual) my Korean study tracking. Let's do this!

Have a blessed and productive week! :) Iveth🌻

"Efficiency" left the Big Three vulnerable to smart UAW tactics
Tumblr media
Tomorrow (September 22), I'm (virtually) presenting at the DIG Festival in Modena, Italy. Tomorrow night, I'll be in person at LA's Book Soup for the launch of Justin C Key's "The World Wasn’t Ready for You." On September 27, I'll be at Chevalier's Books in Los Angeles with Brian Merchant for a joint launch for my new book The Internet Con and his new book, Blood in the Machine.
Tumblr media
It's been 143 days since the WGA went on strike against the Hollywood studios. While early tactical leaks from the studios had studio execs chortling and twirling their mustaches about writers caving once they started losing their homes, the strikers aren't wavering – they're still out there, pounding the picket lines, every weekday:
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/08/09/how-hollywood-writers-make-ends-meet-100-days-into-the-writers-guild-strike.html
The studios obviously need writers. That gleeful, anonymous studio exec who got such an obvious erotic charge at the thought of workers being rendered homeless as punishment for challenging his corporate power completely misread the room, and his comments didn't demoralize the writers. Instead, they inspired the actors to go on strike, too.
But how have the writers stayed out since May Day? How have the actors stayed out for 69 days since their strike started on Bastille Day? We can thank the studios for that! As it turns out, the studios have devoted so much energy to rendering creative workers as precarious as possible, hiring as little as they can getting away with and using punishing overtime as a substitute for adequate staffing that they've eliminated all the workers who can't survive on side-hustles and savings for six or seven months at a time.
But even for those layoff-hardened workers, long strikes are brutal, and of course, all the affiliated trades, from costumers to grips, are feeling the pain. The strike fund only goes so far, and non-striking, affected workers don't even get that. That's why I've been donating regularly to the Entertainment Community Fund, which helps all affected workers out with cash transfers (I just gave them another $500):
https://secure2.convio.net/afa/site/Donation2?df_id=8117&8117.donation=form1&mfc_pref=T
As hot labor summer is revealed as a turning point – not just a season – long strikes will become the norm. Bosses still don't believe in worker power, and until they get their minds right, they're going to keep on trying to starve their workforces back inside. To get a sense of how long workers will have to hold out, just consider the Warrior Met strike, where Alabama coal-miners stayed out for 23 months:
https://www.thenation.com/article/activism/warrior-met-strike-union/
As Kim Kelly explained to Adam Conover in the latest Factually podcast, the Alabama coal strikers didn't get anywhere near the attention that the Hollywood strikers have enjoyed:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvyMHf7Yg0Q
(To learn more about the untold story of worker organizing, from prison unions to the key role that people of color and women played in labor history, check out Kelly's book, "Fight Like Hell," now in paperback:)
https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Fight-Like-Hell/Kim-Kelly/9781982171063
Which brings me to the UAW strike. This is an historic strike, the first time that the UAW has struck all of the Big Three automakers at once. Past autoworkers' strikes have marked turning points for all American workers. The 1945/46 GM strike established employers' duty to cover worker pensions, health care, and cost of living allowances. The GM strike created the American middle-class:
https://prospect.org/labor/2023-09-18-uaw-strikes-built-american-middle-class/
The Big Three are fighting for all the marbles here. They are refusing to allow unions to organize EV factories. Given that no more internal combustion cars will be in production in just a few short years, that's tantamount to eliminating auto unions altogether. The automakers are flush with cash, including billions in public subsidies from multiple bailouts, along with billions more from greedflation price-gouging. A long siege is inevitable, as the decimillionaires running these companies earn their pay by starving out their workers:
https://www.businessinsider.com/general-motors-ceo-mary-barra-salary-auto-workers-strike-uaw-2023-9
The UAW knows this, of course, and their new leadership – helmed by the union's radical president Shawn Fain – has a plan. UAW workers are engaged in tactical striking, shutting down key parts of the supply chain on a rolling basis, making the 90-day strike fund stretch much farther:
https://prospect.org/blogs-and-newsletters/tap/2023-09-18-labors-militant-creativity/
In this project, they are greatly aided by Big Car's own relentless pursuit of profit. The automakers – like every monopolized, financialized sector – have stripped all the buffers and slack out of their operations. Inventory on hand is kept to a bare minimum. Inputs are sourced from the cheapest bidder, and they're brought to the factory by the lowest-cost option. Resiliency – spare parts, backup machinery – is forever at war with profits, and profits have won and won and won, leaving auto production in a brittle, and easily shattered state.
This is especially true for staffing. Automakers are violently allergic to hiring workers, because new workers get benefits and workplace protection. Instead, the car companies routinely offer "voluntary" overtime to their existing workforce. By refusing this overtime, workers can kneecap production, without striking.
Enter "Eight and Skate," a campaign among UAW workers to clock out after their eight hour shift. As Keith Brower Brown writes for Labor Notes, the UAW organizers are telling workers that "It’s crossing an unofficial picket line to work overtime. It’s helping out the company":
https://labornotes.org/2023/09/work-extra-during-strike-auto-workers-say-eight-and-skate
Eight and Skate has already started to work; the Buffalo Ford plant can no longer run its normal weekend shifts because workers are refusing to put in voluntary overtime. Of course, bosses will strike back: the next step will be forced overtime, which will lead to the unsafe conditions that unionized workers are contractually obliged to call paid work-stoppages over, shutting down operations without touching the strike fund.
What's more, car bosses can't just halt safety stoppages or change the rules on overtime; per the UAW's last contract, bosses are required to bargain on changes to overtime rules:
https://uaw.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Working-Without-Contract-FAQ-FINAL-2.pdf
Car bosses have become lazily dependent on overtime. At GM's "highly profitable" SUV factory in Arlington, TX, normal production runs a six-days, 24 hours per day. Workers typically work five eight-hour days and nine hours on Saturdays. That's been the status quo for 11 years, but when bosses circulated the usual overtime signup sheet last week, every worker wrote "a big fat NO" next to their names.
Writing for The American Prospect, David Dayen points out that this overtime addiction puts a new complexion on the much-hyped workerpocalypse that EVs will supposedly bring about. EVs are much simpler to build than conventional cars, the argument goes, so a US transition to EVs will throw many autoworkers out of work:
https://prospect.org/labor/2023-09-20-big-threes-labor-shortages-uaw/
But the reality is that most autoworkers are doing one and a half jobs already. Reducing the "workforce" by a third could leave all these workers with their existing jobs, and the 40-hour workweek that their forebears fought for at GM inn 1945/46. Add to that the additional workers needed to make batteries, build and maintain charging infrastructure, and so on, and there's no reason to think that EVs will weaken autoworker power.
And as Dayen points out, this overtime addiction isn't limited to cars. It's also endemic to the entertainment industry, where writers' "mini rooms" and other forms of chronic understaffing are used to keep workforces at a skeleton crew, even when the overtime costs more than hiring new workers.
Bosses call themselves job creators, but they have a relentless drive to destroy jobs. If there's one thing bosses hate, it's paying workers – hence all the hype about AI and automation. The stories about looming AI-driven mass unemployment are fairy tales, but they're tailor made for financiers who get alarming, life-threatening priapism at the though of firing us all and replacing us with shell-scripts:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/03/09/autocomplete-worshippers/#the-real-ai-was-the-corporations-that-we-fought-along-the-way
This is why Republican "workerism" rings so hollow. Trump's GOP talks a big game about protecting "workers" (by which they mean anglo men) from immigrants and "woke captialism," but they have nothing to say about protecting workers from bosses and bankers who see every dime a worker gets as misappropriated from their dividend.
Unsurprisingly, conservative message-discipline sucks. As Luke Savage writes in Jacobin, for every mealymouthed Josh Hawley mouthing talking points that "support workers" by blaming China and Joe Biden for the Big Three's greed, there's a Tim Scott, saying the quiet part aloud:
https://jacobin.com/2023/09/republicans-uaw-strike-hawley-trump-scott/
Quoth Senator Scott: "I think Ronald Reagan gave us a great example when federal employees decided they were going to strike. He said, you strike, you’re fired. Simple concept to me. To the extent that we can use that once again, absolutely":
https://twitter.com/American_Bridge/status/1704136706574741988
The GOP's workerism is a tissue-thin fake. They can never and will never support real worker power. That creates an opportunity for Biden and Democrats to seize:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/09/18/co-determination/#now-make-me-do-it
Reversing two generations of anti-worker politics is a marathon, not a sprint. The strikes are going to run for months, even years. Every worker will be called upon to support their striking siblings, every day. We can do it. Solidarity now. Solidarity forever.

Week 6 & 7 - #100DayReinvention Progress log ୨୧
Original challenge by @dreamdolldiary
Hello girlies! It's been days since I have been active on my account. Being sincere, last week I was still in a slump and didn't made any progress and this week I regained my productivity since I almost finish my university semester, but I got burned out since the only things I did were: wake up, university, do assigments, cheerleading and sleep. That's why I have decied to mix up both weeks to write one entry.
𝐈. My weekly progress
Health: Did pilates once, slept at 10pm some half of the week and ate healthier.
Academic: finished my Italian course, probably will get a 100/100 semestral grade. Made lots of progress with my career assigments, got interested in geography and fashion topics.
Adulting: no new progress
Hobby: continued my book (It didn't start with you) and made activities from it, improved cheer skills.
Social: hanged out more with my girl friends and felt more connected to them, kind of healed and improved my relationship with my parents (which improved my mood, confidence and efficiency).
Healing: meditated and practiced yoga in the morning and at night, listening to frequencies, listening to positive affirmations, applying manifestation and soft living tips.
Style: my parents bought me a new pair of tennis, makeup products and new clothes , my makeup looked better, styled better my hair
𝐈𝐈. I need to work on
Sleep earlier and wake up earlier - This is a problem I have been dealing with since the beggining of this challenge. But, specially now is when I need it the most since I will begin the two last weeks for exams and final projects.
Drink more water and more fruits.
Respect the app usage timers of my phone.
Commit to study for my exams and invest the neccesary time on finishing my projects (I know is for the greateds good...).
I have now a more confident and positive attitude but I now I can do better by: being grateful, positive affirmations, look for the positive, stop gossiping and comparing myself, do actions that make me feel confident.
𝐈𝐈𝐈. Next week I will focus on
Just as what I wrote in my journal, I will focus this next week by
Study smartly for my exams and invest time on finishing my team projects.
Dress, think and act according to my ideal self to boost up my confidence, beauty and feminine traits. (If I feel good things will go good)
No matter how busy or heavy the day was, I wil do my daily and weekly habits to maintain my mental health and peace. As so, respect when I need to rest.
See you next week, girlies! Wish me the best 𑄽ྀ

༻`` 29 Jan 24 — Monday
100 days of productivity 29/100
Found out from a friend that if I want to do biology then I'd probably have to do it at SRC so I've sent a query about it and hopefully it's something I can do and that doing it will be beneficial. I'll be sad to see art go tho 😔 (I know I can handle a lot but 5 ALevels would be pushing it...). Did a lot of homework today and gave a teacher my work xp form. Watched a couple more self improvement 🧠 videos and cleaned my retainers (those cleaning crystals could really do more ;-; ). Also I worked up the courage to ask my art teacher so miss class because I have my piece at home and I'm finished everything else. It will be refreshing to finish it early 🌱.

What are your main goals for this challenge:
To learn more about my study habits and ways in which I can improve them (also getting inspiration from others' posts). I would like to study more efficiently and study more in general also.
Here's the prompt list if you'd like to try it yourself ^^

How to bounce back after vacation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just came back from a long holiday trip right now, and it's been pretty easy falling off the wagon while vacationing, I'm not gonna lie. Our first stop was extremely hot and humid and I don't do well in those conditions so I was blowing through bottles of soda and bowls of ice cream. During the road trip we took I snacked constantly. Then we went to a spot that was below freezing. I didn't take care of my hair at all so it's frizzy and dry. You can imagine how badly sticking to a routine went.
It's challenging to stay disciplined while holidaying, so I cut myself some slack. Four flights and 17 hours of driving combined in a week? Of course I wasn't going to be able to follow my routine. But now that I'm back, I've been actively working to get back on track ASAP.
Here's how to recover from a long trip and get back into the flow as efficiently as possible.
Recover: Keep a few days to just relax at home. You'll probably think it's counter-productive, but recovering from a late-night flight or a 10-hour road trip is vital if you want to do anything with full productivity. I usually take 1 day to recover, but I recommend limiting them to 2 days maximum (otherwise you're going to feel lazier)
Try to ease into it: Do not jump into your routine. Your body will not be used to a 3-hour study session or 10 kg dumbells after it's not kept up. Be gentle with yourself. Do a 1-hour study session, instead of 3. Go for a walk, rather than an intense HIIT workout.
Eat properly: If you haven't had any good, healthy food during your trip, eat some goddamn veggies. Your body will be happy. Although I ate light, like soup and chicken during my trip, eating normal, home-cooked food worked wonders for me
Nap: Catch up on sleep. Unfortunately, I drank a large coffee before my 9pm flight back home, so I got zero shuteye. I've been napping in the afternoons to get back to normal.
Clean: Unpacking always makes a huge mess, and my room can testify to that. Make sure during the process, you don't mess up the rest of your (already clean) room. Wash your clothes, and rearrange your skincare products back where they belong.
Prep: Since my classes are starting next week, I've been restocking my supplies, filling my sketchbook, and completing any extra college assignments due. Staying prepared will help you manage time better when work or school starts again. Complete any time-consuming work, like meal prep, or laundry.
Pamper yourself: Traveling doesn't suit everyone, so yesterday, I took out time to have my Everything Shower, I put on music and read while I treated my body to some much-needed TLC. My hair looks much better.
Feeling frazzled after holiday isn't unusual. We're expected to come back to work with 100% productivity. If you're not able to do that immediately, don't beat yourself up about it. Take it easy, and you'll be back in your routine after no time. xoxo

12 Tips for Making Your Creative Writing Sessions More Productive
When you’re ready to sit down and make some progress on your current WIP, get in touch with your productivity to reach your goals. Check out a few ways to hack your brain and make your creative writing sessions more productive. You’ll defeat writer’s block and potentially overshoot your usual writing goals.
1. Set a Goal
Creating goals and reaching them is the easiest way to know you’ve been productive. Writing goals can take many forms, but you can consider using one of these goals to get started:
Write 100 (200, 300, whatever you feel comfortable with) words
Write for 15 minutes without a break
Write 1 (2, 3, etc.) page
Finish the current chapter
Even if you think a goal is too small, it could be just right for your writing abilities and schedule. Every person is different, so every writer’s productivity goals will be different too.
2. Put Your Phone Away
The average person checks their phone 344 times every day (once every four minutes). Putting it next to you while you’re writing might not be enough to make your creative writing session more productive.
Turn your phone on silent and place it in a drawer. Hide it under the pillow next to you or leave it in the next room. As long as it’s out of sight, you’ll be less tempted to pick it up and flip through apps while you’re working toward your writing goals.
3. Pick a Better Environment
If you’ve been struggling with your writing, try changing where you write. Your kitchen table might be around too many distractions, so write in your bedroom instead.
Need inspiration? I wrote about 10 places to write your stories that could inspire you in different ways. Changing your scenery can help you get a new perspective, which is why people take vacations. Help your brain jumpstart itself by changing your scenery whenever you want to write next.
4. Harness Your Focus With Sounds
Listening to the right playlist can actually help you focus. Instead of distracting you, lyric-less noises or songs may become the background noises that trigger stochastic resonance in your brain. It’s a phenomenon when people focus more efficiently when they only hear specific background noises.
Grab your favorite headphones and try a few playlists I put together with various background sounds. You could write more easily while listening to sounds like rain, forrest noises, snowstorms, or more.
You can also search for instrumental playlists if you’re not into real-world noises. Have fun trying different audio clips to see what works best with your brain.
5. Free Write for One Minute
You might not jump right back into your current WIP because stress is clogging your mind. Free write for one minute by recording your stream of consciousness on a piece of paper or a Google doc. It might not have anything to do with your story, but destressing by facing the thoughts holding your creativity back could be what you need to really engage with your work.
6. Switch Your Writing Time
Trying to write in the evening might not work with your circadian rhythm. Some people have more natural energy in the mornings or afternoons. Reflect on when you have the most energy or when you most easily pay attention to what’s going on around you.
Figuring out when you’re most in tune with your energy could help you switch your writing time to a better time of day for your brain. Try writing at a new time of day to see if it’s easier or more challenging.
7. Add Writing to Your Schedule
This tip revolutionized my writing routine. I used to write whenever I got done for the day, if I had energy leftover after a long day of school, work, or other responsibilities.
Now I add 15 minutes to my schedule specifically for my creative process. It seemed weird at first because creativity is supposed to be intuitive. However, adding more responsibilities to your time limits what you can do and how much energy you have after the day ends.
Schedule a few minutes for writing. Repeat that schedule two or three times a week and you’ll quickly make progress on your WIP.
8. Brainstorm With a Friend
When your writing process feels stuck, brainstorming or venting out loud could help. Call a friend and ask if you can vent about your story for a few minutes. Sometimes hearing your struggles out loud makes them seem smaller and easier to overcome.
You could also post about your process online (hello, tumblr!), text a friend, post in a virtual writing group, or talk to yourself out loud. You might think through your current creative block and get more writing done.
9. Block That Editing Instinct
I know how tempting it is to edit as you write. Catch that instinct as often as possible to save your editing for another time.
Writers need first drafts to start morphing their work into a polished story. Just get those words on paper for right now. You can edit your heart out once you have a draft to work with.
10. Dismantle Your Project
You can also overcome the desire to constantly edit or work on finer story details by breaking your project apart.
Manageable segments might free up the anxiety holding your creavity back. Outline your writing process into steps like:
Character creation
Plot outlining
Plot point development
Writing (by chapter, word count, etC)
Editing (line edits and/or developmental edits)
You could work a little bit on each segment every day. You’ll watch your WIP blossom and potential feel less stressed because you know you’re being productive.
11. Read a Similar Book
When was the last time you picked up a book? Sometimes we need to read a similar story to get our creativity flowing again. Read something similar by getting a book in the same genre, thematic narrative, or writing style.
You might feel your creativity come back to you so writing becomes easier. You’ll also benefit by developing a few extra skills as each page turns.
12. Allow Yourself to Get Messy
Perfectionism finds us all eventually. When it has your creativity locked up, encourage yourself to get messy. Every writer makes mistakes and edits them out later. That’s why there are multiple types of editing after you finish your draft.
Write something terrible. I dare you. You can always transform it into something great later.
You might even discover that your first draft isn’t as bad as you thought it’d be.
-----
Take these tips with you into your next writing session. They may help when your old process isn’t working as well as before!

Good morning! I had the results of my radiology exam and despite all the efforts I did not pass. So, as you can see, sometimes things do not go the way we plan or think. Thankfully I can retake the exam in June.
I managed to pick myself up and dust all the negative feelings. But, I have to admit it was hard.
I am trying to understand how to study better and be more efficient. However it is not easy.
Apart from that, I am enjoying the process of understanding and letting go of passive study methods I have used in the past.
How about you? Sending you much love and courage 🫰🏽🫂📖🧠

ahh ty for responding!! ur like the sweetest ever ughh 😭😭 i actually have a blog rn called lunicho but honestly im not the most proud of the writing on there so im trying to work on my writing before starting up this blog! i'm moving my riize and boynextdoor writing to this blog and leaving the other blog for other groups that i wanna talk about! i'm kinda in a middle stage rn with my writing but i'm kinda getting it figured out!! do you have like a creative process that you go through? like do you plan your fics or anything because i want to become more efficient with my writing, i take a very long time to post and write and i feel so bad :((
Tumblr media
giving u all of my love 🥹🥹 also we're both jooyeon girlies so i'll stop by with some pics or thoughts about him soon!!!
of course omg i would love to talk to you more so pls know you’re welcomed here anytime!! 🥹
ahh, good luck with your new blog! i’ll be looking out for your work i’m sure it’s gonna be great ~
tbh i don’t have anything specific that i stick to when it comes to writing… which when i think about it now is kinda strange bc when it comes to other things i always have to have some kind of plan/a list or anything that can guide me so i can be more efficient and productive, but when it comes to writing i just make sure to ALWAYS write down any ideas that come to mind in one document, and when i’m in the mood to write i go through them and pick whatever sparks my creativity in that moment and go from there (yall have no idea how many random conversations i have in my notes that just sit there 🫣)
i’m a mood writer 100% and that’s why i avoid sticking to plans or schedules or i will just get burnt out very quickly if i have to work on something that doesn’t excite me as much as other ideas that day, or if i don’t feel like writing at all, cause i have those days too ofc
i know it’s easier said than done, but don’t ever feel bad or guilty for taking your time with your works!! we’re here to create and have fun, so your own enjoyment and health comes first. try out different creative approaches, see how you’d feel and do what works best for you! i’ve realised that i write easier when i don’t stick to one particular thing/process, but i’m sure there are many ppl who are totally the opposite. don’t be hard on yourself okay, your readers will understand and will still enjoy what you put out <3
i’m rambling now, but i’m gonna share one more thing in case it helps someone? for me the beginning of the story is always challenging and i’ve realised that starting with a dialogue helps me get into it. most times i end up deleting it lol but just writing any kind of dialogue helps me start from somewhere, that’s something i always do if i get stuck on a specific part of the story too… music is also a must when i write! it keeps me inspired, sometimes it gives me ideas too, and i write easier and quicker when i listen to songs that have a similar vibe to what i’m working on
oh this got long sorry 🫣 but that’s all i do tbh nothing special! what about you? ~
omg a fellow jooyeon girly?? WE LOVE 🫶🏼 i rarely receive thoughts about him he deserves our love and attention!! i’m sending u lots of hugs 🥹

𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗴 #𝟭 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲
I've always been attracted by the beauty of politics in business. How people can settle and manage their financial transactions through efficient communication, proficiency, and the development of plans using scientific methods in research to patch up gaps and establish projects based on solvency. Selling your business necessitate you to be able to speak persuasively, and I admit that it was still challenging for me to gather my thoughts and be confident enough to approach people and persuade them about something, despite the fact that I am a Political Science major and thus expected to be good at public speaking. However, our interview activity gave me the opportunity to venture outside of my comfort zone. In a larger perspective, it made the realm of politics and entrepreneurship converge in a sense that I was able to practice the art of identifying grassroot problems to provide solutions for the betterment of learning and quality education, which is entirely the definition of politics, and to make it income generating, we have to devise a product or services to cater the needs of the people, which is in the business realm, and for me to be able to show my innovative skills, I have to also link the realm of entrepreneurship hence, I believe that I can pour out all the learning application of my three years residency in political science in this subject.
EXPERIENCE
The encounter itself was enjoyable. During our preparation phase, I was able to demonstrate my leadership skills by devising techniques to make our workload more efficient by assigning ourselves quotas to meet. Personally, I wanted our data to exceed 100, but owing to forthcoming requirements, we opted to limit the quota at 50-60 interviewees. I assigned the deadlines, responsibilities, and established a bureaucratic framework to guarantee that each of us fulfilled our tasks; thus, before the interview, I ensured that the Google Drive was available for the uploading of our documentation, specifically images, videos, and recordings. Google Docs is also ready for the consolidated report, which includes both the quantitative and qualitative data. To avoid delays, I have also assigned the secretary to monitor task completion.
BEFORE THE INTERVIEW/D-DAY
Tumblr media
During the interview, it became increasingly difficult to identify students who are not shy in front of the camera and are willing to participate. Fortunately, I know a lot of people at the university, which gave me an edge in finding interviewers. An individual interview was initially conducted, but I later realized that it was time consuming and made the interviewee more shy due to the pressure and tension of becoming embarrassed, so I have to make small talk with the interviewee first to ensure that I will be able to break the ice and allow comfort to kick in. We experimented with combined interviews, team interviews, and partner interviews alongside Eloisa. As a result, we were able to troubleshoot problems during the interview by devising plans and trying out different techniques. Regardless of the outcome, I believe it gave me confidence to take risks and become resilient, both of which are essential in entrepreneurship, especially since one major challenge is dealing with people with different tastes, preferences, and attitudes.
D-DAY
INTERVIEWEES #1 and #2
Tumblr media
Eloisa and I with our first interviewee from the program of Sociology. The problem identified was the absence of comfortable tambayan with good food.
Our second respondent is from BSED PE and the problem identified was waste problems.
INTERVIEWEES #3 and #4
Tumblr media
The third interviewee is also from BSED PE and the problem identified was mental health issues due to the pressure being felt by students.
The fourth interviewee is from the College of Business and Management major in Finance. The problem identified was ventilation due to poor budgeting of the university.
INTERVIEWEES #5 & #6 and #8 & #9
Tumblr media
The fifth and sixth interviewees are from the program of BS Bio. The problems identified are transportation and printing problems due to the location of printing services.
The 8th and 9th interviewees are both from the program of AB Political Science. The problem identified is waste problems.
Bonus GIF
Caught on 4K: Ma'am Butalid, the program coordinator
Tumblr media
INTERVIEWEES #10 & #11 and #11, #12, #13, & #14
Tumblr media
The tenth and eleventh interviewees are both from the College of Education. The problem that was identified is also the prevalent waste problem.
All four interviewees (11-14) are from the program of AB Political Science and the problems identified were insufficiency of educational tools, transportation, waste problems, and illegal business (no permit).
INTERVIEWEES #15 & #16
Tumblr media
Our fifteenth interviewee is from the program of BS Math and the problem identified was waste problem.
The last interviewee is from BSED PE and the problem identified was waste problem.
AFTER THE INTERVIEW
Following the interview and consultation with the instructor, we were able to share our views, suggestions, and data results, so with waste management being the most pressing issue at the university based on our data gathered from the series of interview, we looked for potential products and services that would be the greatest solution. We had a lot of prospects for the proposal because I came prepared, and I had already researched sustainable products online through various platforms to make our decision process easier. Following the deliberation, it was decided to proceed with the conversion of leaves into paper, with modifications such as colour classification and scented option.
Tumblr media
RESULTS OF THE INTERVIEW
Tumblr media
The first pie chart shows the result of our joint interview. It has been revealed that there are 8 identified problems and the top three are the following: (1) Waste problems, (2) Transportation, and (3) Ventilation. Meanwhile, for the consolidated result, it was revealed that waste problems still hold the top issue that the CMUans are currently facing and have been posing grave concerns weighing 53.8 percent out of 55 respondents being interviewed. Therefore, we have decided to go with a visionary EcoVenture product called "EVERLEAF" which means everlasting leaf which aims to stop deforestation and degradation of the environment 🌿
REFLECTION
Through this dialogue, I have come to understand that that, despite the fact that we are in a micro level setting, the problem that we are facing in the university is ubiquitous since corporations do nothing about it because they just care about profit. Sustainable practices are difficult to implement since they may inhibit economic growth, which is something every businessman avoids. The ongoing problem of deforestation, erosion, and forest fires will exist unless we begin to develop regulations and sanction big industries. Thus, this subject is an excellent way to enter the VentureVerse because anyone may be a businessman, but not everyone can sustain their business owing to the ups and downs of business hence, it needs strong mentality.
LEARNINGS
Furthermore, this interview helped me identify my strengths, such as strategic leadership, critical thinking, resiliency to troubleshoot unforeseen problems that require immediate solutions, adaptability, time management skills, and the ability to remain rational at all times in order to manage the team. While I accept my inadequacies, such as my public speaking abilities and approaching strangers, it has provided me with opportunities to identify areas for improvement. It taught me that mistakes and failures are inevitable and necessary for learning and growth. Every master was once a beginner in their chosen industry. As a result, I feel that by constantly improving and allowing oneself to admit mistakes, I will be able to recognise threats that are critical for mitigating macro consequences on the endeavour.
To summarise everything, I am excited for the thrills of this rollercoaster journey. The uncertainty makes me rosier about the future. Risks are what keep me alive. It piques my interest in exploring new horizons. I am challenged to venture beyond of my comfort zone in order to try new things and discover more about myself.

Jessica Minh Anh reimagines Paris as the runway
Tumblr media
The legendary fashion show producer combined runways, presentations, and campaigns into one unique production at iconic locations during Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture.
Tumblr media
Erase any preconceived notions of conventional catwalk presentations from your mind. The eminent fashion show producer, Jessica Minh Anh, has astutely redefined the contemporary fashion showcase. She has seamlessly amalgamated traditional runways, presentations, and campaigns into an unparalleled production, and it unfolded simultaneously at multiple iconic locations throughout Paris during Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture.
Tumblr media
Renowned for her historic fashion events at the world's most iconic monuments and sustainable energy sites, Jessica transformed Paris' landmarks on the 25th of January, 2024, into a grand fusion of fashion, architecture, culture, and artistic expression. The event followed Jessica’s Sky-High Ocean Catwalk in Rio de Janeiro just a month earlier.
This remarkable production featured models elegantly striding against the backdrop of cinematic masterpieces, including the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Pont Alexandre III, Seine River, and Place Vendome, all on a single day. This strategic feat aimed to showcase creative designs from diverse continents while offering a fresh perspective on the beloved City of Lights.
Tumblr media
Romane Ouisse, Event & PR Manager of KEVIN.MURPHY France, enthused, "This event injected unprecedented vibrancy into the fashion industry, and we are immensely proud to have been a part of it. Jessica Minh Anh is not only a visionary with extraordinary concepts but also a masterful executor, turning the seemingly impossible into reality. She makes this collaboration even more challenging and exciting for KEVIN.MURPHY!"
Tumblr media
The J Winter Fashion Show 2024 seamlessly blended transparent rooftop buses and iconic locations to unveil a diverse array of collections from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. With innovative transitions reminiscent of popular social media platforms, Jessica expertly connected with the younger generation. The spectacle featured classic catwalk photography, captivating fashion films, and digital trends, engaging millions of fashion enthusiasts globally.
Tumblr media
Vincent Durand, CEO of Bus Toqué Paris, admired the logistical precision required to orchestrate this extraordinary event, stating, "Coordinating such a multifaceted production could have been a logistical challenge, given its complexity. We were thoroughly impressed with Jessica Minh Anh's efficient execution, which brought it all to life within just six hours. We provided two luxury buses to support her production, and we found that Jessica's energy, creativity, and message perfectly aligned with our company's vision to deliver an unforgettable Parisian experience."
Tumblr media
The fashion extravaganza showcased the enchanting creations of Chotronette, a Romanian powerhouse renowned for conjuring an imaginative universe inspired by "la vie en rose." Each ensemble was a breathtaking rendition of twentieth-century ball gowns, artfully combining tulle, florals, and vibrant color palettes to create a tapestry of art and cinematic allure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OTKUTYR Fashion House from Saudi Arabia, a long-time collaborator in Jessica Minh Anh's Catwalk-On-Water series in Paris, captivated the audience with an exceptional pret-a-couture collection. More than a fashion brand, OTKUTYR serves as a collaborative hub committed to eco-friendly techniques such as upcycling, setting a global example for sustainable fashion practices.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The collection harmoniously merged timeless elegance with a contemporary Arab twist, challenging conventional gender norms with tailored men's style suits for women adorned with statement bows. Jessica herself graced the catwalk in a signature maroon body-hugging dress, meticulously hand-embroidered with 100 roses, accentuating the intricacies of the female form.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Making their debut in Jessica's production, Melissia brand from Kuwait presented luxurious abaya designs crafted with premium fabrics and impeccable tailoring. These designs seamlessly blended tradition with contemporary styles, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region while catering to modern tastes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but certainly not least, Vietnamese luxury fashion house, Tracy Studio, unveiled a collection named "The Silk Road: From East to West." Tracy Studio's designs epitomized a captivating fusion of craftsmanship and tailoring, portraying confident and elegant women with timeless beauty transcending generations. The collection included strapless dresses, capes, unique necklines, and shoulder pairings, encapsulating the essence of femininity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jessica Minh Anh expressed her love for Tracy Studio, saying, "Tracy Studio's unwavering commitment to craftsmanship excellence impressed me. The brand masterfully incorporated embroidery, rhinestones, and beading to create a harmonious fashion symphony." Their modernized rendition of the Vietnamese famous Ao Dai, a sparkling blue structured dress worn by Jessica Minh Anh, not only accentuated her stunning silhouette but also embodied the spirit of cultural exchange and beauty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reviving the big frizzy curly fever from the 90s, KEVIN.MURPHY's artistic team was responsible for Jessica Minh Anh's charismatic coiffure. As a hair brand with a strong fashion DNA, this marked the second collaboration between KEVIN.MURPHY and Jessica Minh Anh, following the phenomenal success of J Spring Fashion Show 2022 on the Liquefied Natural Gas cruise ship Costa Toscana in Portofino, Italy.
Tumblr media
J Winter Fashion Show 2024 received invaluable support from Paris J'Adore Hotel and IWG group's Spaces Opéra Garnier, where Jessica's dedicated team worked tirelessly around the clock to bring this unique production to life.
Tumblr media
Jessica Minh Anh's Winter Fashion Show 2024 transcended the realm of fashion; it was a testament to creativity, diversity, and inclusivity, featuring models and designs from different ethnicities. This milestone event marked Jessica's 30th innovative production since her history-making catwalk on England's iconic London Tower Bridge in 2011.

Graphic Designing – Expectations Vs. Reality
Tumblr media
Recent years, there is significant demand for visual graphics, and so has the need for skilled & efficient graphic designers. The field of graphic designing has evolved to greater heights over the years, with technology advancing rapidly and new mediums emerging.
As a result, the expectations from graphic designers have changed as well. However, many people have a misconception about graphic designing. They have a certain expectation which will not reflect with the reality of the job. In this blog, we will explore the expectation vs. reality of graphic designing.
Expectation: Graphic designers only need to know how to use design software
Reality: It is not just knowing about software it is more of using it well
Graphic designers must and should know how to use design software for e.g. – Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign. Not just knowing it but they also need to be Efficient in communication and collaboration, as they often work with clients, Entrepreneurs, and other members of the creative team. Prism Multimedia offers Graphic Designing course with cutting edge tools where our expert trainers will teach you how to use which will make stand out in this competitive world.
Expectation: Graphic designers work alone
Reality: Graphic designers often work in team’s
Graphic designers are not solitary workers. They often work in teams with copywriters, art directors, photographers, and other designers. Collaboration is essential in creating cohesive designs that effectively communicate the message to the target audience. Graphic designers also work along with client on day-to-day basis.
Expectation: Graphic designing is easy
Reality: Graphic designing is a challenging and time-consuming process
Designing a visually appealing graphic requires a lot of patience and efforts. Graphic designers need to research, brainstorm, sketch, and create multiple iterations before arriving at the final design. They also keep in mind regarding end user, the client’s brand identity, and the place in which the design will be used. It takes lot of effort and experience to create a design that effectively communicates the message and matches the end user of that design.
Expectation: Graphic designers just make things look pretty
Reality: Graphic designers create designs with a purpose
Graphic designers don’t just make things look pretty. They create designs with a purpose. Whether it is to promote a product, convey a message, or create a brand identity, every design has a specific goal.
Expectation: Graphic designers only work on print designs
Reality: Graphic designers work on a variety of mediums
Graphic designers work on Many mediums, including print and digital. They create logos, visiting cards, social media posters, and many other images related content. As there is sudden spike in digital exposure graphic designer ensure and make themselves perfect for both print and digital platforms.
Expectation: Graphic designing is a high-paying job
Reality: Graphic designing pay will be varied from person to person depending upon experience and employer
While it is true that graphic designers can make a good living, salaries vary based on experience and location. Entry-level graphic designers may make less than experienced designers, and salaries in larger cities may be higher than in smaller towns. Freelance designers also need to factor in expenses like equipment and software when setting their rates.
