For a brief moment, Simon considers smacking his partner over the back of the head, but the McTavish family seems to be used to Johnny's brand of storytelling. There's no shaking of heads, no scolding his language, or criticising him for sharing stories filled with mass amounts of violence at the dinner table.

He almost misses the way Johnny's sister reacts, feigning a dramatic gasp and wide eyes. He doesn't miss the way Johnny shakes his head, resigned to what's to come.

"Actual?"

"Aye."

"Actual factual?"

"Aye, that's wit a said."

"No, but like really, actual factual?"

"A'm gonnae break yer fuckin neck if ye say that wan mair fuckin time."

"Actually factually?"

Watching his partner, an esteemed SAS sergeant, thrown a tea spoon at his big sister's face is funnier than Simon would admit under any amount of torture.
