See, @solarempress unintentionally hit the nail on the head right there.
Femininity is socially 100% performative now. You aren't "pretty" if you don't perform these specific acts. You're not a "real woman" if you don't perform.
Shaving is performance. Heavy makeup is performance. Specific "feminine" behaviors are, largely, performance.
If women exist just as we naturally are without having to perform socially constructed rituals to be considered "pretty," then we aren't feminine, we aren't real women.
Which means anyone can be a woman as long as they perform the rituals.
Which means they aren't biologically inherent.
Which is why losers and assholes try to enforce them.
So if not shaving makes me ugly or not feminine enough for the idiots of the internet, that's fine by me.
Your approval is neither desired nor required. Hope this helps.
it makes me sad the way cis women are so terrified of and disgusted by their own body hair. and i'm not talking "i have to shave for sensory reasons" i mean i keep seeing videos of women using hair identifier spray on their faces and hands so they can shave the tiniest barely-there bits of peach fuzz that came free with their bodies. hair that serves a purpose and that purpose is cleanliness and protection. i mean when i was in elementary school girls who had barely hit puberty were talking about shaving their arms. i mean full-grown adult women who will have a breakdown if they see two days of stubble on their legs/crotch/ jaw/pits because god forbid you don't look like a perfect plastic barbie doll. god forbid your body that keeps you alive comes with hair that may not be soft and glossy and photogenic. some women are so afraid of having any hair apart from their head and eyebrows that they've uno reversed themselves into six different kinds of gender dysphoria that they can't recognize as such because they're convinced that this unnatural state of highly-groomed capital-informed beauty is how women have always been. you're so scared of looking "gross" or "ugly" or "mannish" that you can't even look at your body in the mirror and recognize what it is. sister you are an ape. why are you so determined to deny your nature.

If you want to refer to specific concepts, refer to those concepts. What some doctor called you however many years ago does not indicate what you have and what you are now, nor does it reflect what you once were. Use the correct terms! Don't be ashamed of the correct vocabulary!

transsexual is not an old fashioned or outdated term. transsexual is not a term only used by transmedicalists, truscum and transphobic trans people. you do not have to like or use the term transsexual for yourself and no one is forcing you to, however you do have to be normal about other people using the term transsexual to describe themselves and their experiences.
people still use the term transsexual, transsexual is a term steeped in trans history and trans liberation because transness is not just about the gender binary but also about the sex binary. for many people transness is inherently related to their sex and they are trying to change their sex. sex is not an irrefutable, immutable fact and the sooner people accept that the sooner trans, nonbinary and intersex liberation becomes a possibility. I hate the sentiment that gender is a changeable social construct and sex is a biological fact because sex is also a changeable social construct.
stop buying into t_rf and transphobic rhetoric about sex.

I’m gonna start an ice cream shop specifically for all of the people who say gender is binary or make that “but nonbinary and binary is still a binary lol” joke
This ice cream shop will sell two flavors: vanilla and not vanilla
“What’s not vanilla?” I’m glad you asked, because I can assure you, it’s not vanilla
“But not vanilla could be a lot of things” oh you mean like how nonbinary could be a lot of things?
IT’S ALMOST LIKE BREAKING STUFF INTO TWO ARBITRARY CATEGORIES DOESN’T ACTUALLY MAKE IT A CHOICE BETWEEN TWO THINGS OR SOMETHING???

When you talk about being visibly trans, non-binary (transandrogynous, fluid, transneutral, and transotherine notably), genderqueer and GNC people will always be at the front of that conversation. Being visibly trans has everything to do with being percieved as outside the rigid binaries; this is our identities and who we are. We cannot pass as enben, even if we wanted to because of the overarching binary. If we want to fully live as ourselves, we will have to live visibly trans. We cannot be left out of these conversations.

I think it’s a good personal challenge to see how much you can remove “masculine” and “feminine” from your vocabulary.
Now I don’t mean this in a “grrr stop doing this, it’s problematic” way. I mean it more as an exercise.
When you use the term “feminine,” what specifically do you mean in THAT context? Do you mean nurturing? Flamboyant? Community oriented? Embellished? Are you referring to a bodily feature? Do you mean something else?
What word could you use to replace the word “masculine” and still get your message across? Utilitarian? Brash? Action and service oriented? A word for a bodily feature? Something else?
From a linguistics perspective, these words are especially nebulous. As we move away from a bioessentialist binary view of gender, the meanings of these words are becoming more and more difficult to pinpoint. EVERY person is going to have a different understanding of what these words imply, based on their own encounters with the words.
Many (queer) people identify with these words and use them in ways that empower them, and that’s so wonderful to see. And also, these words historically rely on a traditional gendered world view to convey meaning.
I think reflecting on what other words we can incorporate into our vocabulary to describe behaviors, bodies, and presentations may help us break away from that binary thinking. Again, this isn’t a prescription, rather an invitation to give this a try!

Why is this person all over my dash 😭
The commenter is so right, tme/tma is some bullshit binary that ignores the fact that many people who ARE NOT trans women can and do experience transmisogyny (even if wrongly aimed).
I would go on a huge rant about it but i dont think i could articulate it well so if someone who has the ability and energy could reblog with why commenter is right and op is wrong thatd be splendid (i have the thoughts just cant write em well)
Note: i dont agree with the second comment, this is about the first. Saying the future has zero gender is an odd take, but the first part of commenters take was good and agreeable imo.
