ABOUT: The Takashi family and how they fit in Jujustu society.

The Takashi clan has been a powerhouse since the Edo period, but the family has been keeping to themselves since the Taisho era. Their rise in strength came about after Kaji Takashi ( the first recorded user of the Time Of Death technique ) started the tradition of marrying ❛ weaker ❜ men in order to ensure that the Takashi genes would be dominant. This also resulted in the switch of the clan being lead by men to being lead by women. There is also suspicion outside the family that when the Takashi women become pregnant, binding vows are used to warrant the child inheriting family techniques, but this hasn’t been proven.

The current head of the clan is Uebu Takashi, Shini’s aunt. The Takashi family doesn’t selected its heirs by age or by who has children, there are picked by the strength of their techniques. The Takashi’s have distanced themselves from jujustu society, they still have sources to inform them of what’s going on. When Uebu had heard that three sorcerers were showcasing Takashi family techniques, she sent out her eldest daughter Tsumugi to attend Kyoto Jujustu High and later had her youngest daughter Dai attend. Uebu believed this to be the best way to find the information she wanted without involving the entire family.

If there’s one thing the Takashi clan hates, it’s the thought of one of their own in the world without any connection to the family thread. What they hate more than that is the possibility of another sorcerer running around with a stolen Takashi technique. After all, back in 1915 a Ningyō Takashi fell victim to a cursed spirit with the ability to control corpses. Ningyō’s body was used as a weapon in World War I. This lead to he mandatory cremation within the clan and them distancing themselves from the rest of jujustu society.

This next part only applies to the second variant of Shini’s Jujustu Kaisen verse which can be found here.

During the 2018 Sister School Goodwill Event Akuma and Jigoku are first years at the Tokyo branch while Tsumugi is in her third year and Dai in her first at Kyoto’s branch. The first interaction the second cousins have lead to a fight. It wasn’t until after both pairs of siblings had tired out that they had reached common ground. After the event had met its end, Tsumugi informed her mother about the existence of Shini, Jigoku, and Akuma. Uebu immediately knew that they stemmed from Kumo and had extended an olive branch to Shini by inviting her to properly join the clan’s ranks and to live on the estate.

Shini denied, but still keeps some contact with Uebu. The Takashi family didn’t get involved with anything going on in jujustu society until the Culling games.

Curse techniques seen in the Takashi family ( Shini’s technique has already been discussed in the post linked above )

Weave and Unseam: A technique only seen twice before Akuma and Jigoku inherited it. The first recorded user being Saihōshi Takashi ( born in 1686 and died in 1705 during childbirth ) one of Akemi Takashi’s daughters, the second known user being Orimasu Takashi, Akemi’s son who she had a month after Saihōshi’s death. It’s believed that Saihōshi was gifted her technique by cursed spirits who resembled spiders, which have since become a creature heavily associated with the Takashi family. In the first two cases of this technique being seen, both users were able to use the entirety of it while Akuma and Jigoku can only use half ( Akuma having the unseam part while Jigoku has the weave part ).

Jigoku’s part allows her to weave things with cursed energy, but she can’t just make whatever she wishes, she has to understand the whole process of creating it ( ex: if she wanted to make a gun she’d have to know every single step in the process, and even how to make bullets ). But the bigger or more powerful the object is, the more cursed energy it uses. In order to use her technique Jigoku needs crotchet needles embedded with her cursed energy. When weaving things Jigoku’s hands move at inhuman speeds.

Akuma’s half allows him to break the ❛ seams ❜. Usually he requires a seam ripper embedded with cursed energy to pull things apart, the only expecting being if something is already ❛ fraying ❜ ( ex: if someone he’s fighting has an open wound, he can just pull on it ) then he could just pull it apart and it turns into strings of cursed energy ( these can be given to Jigoku to weave and it doesn’t affect her until she runs out of thread ). It’s also important to note that only Jigoku can mend anything that Akuma has unseamed and only Akuma can unsesm anything Jigoku has weaved.

Jigoku and Akuma also have the ability to swap temporarily swap techniques. They achieve this by running head on into each other, but as they collide they just pass through each other. Some who have witnessed this claim that as the twins pass through each other you can see the ❛ ghosts ❜ of Saihōshi and Orimasu. While the twins are strong individually, they prefer to work as a unit.

Soul Projection: This technique is very common in the Takashi family and its current owner is Uebu’s daughter Dai. It allows Dai to create projections, but they’re restricted to things she’s already seen and heard. She can cast projections over herself and others to appear as other people or objects, but only if she knows what it looks and sounds like. Dai can also intimate cursed techniques, but only in visual aspects, she can’t actually use the technique she’s pretending to have. She can’t cause any physical harm with it. Another part of this technique is that Dai can change the perception of what someone sees around them with a ten foot radius, the bigger she makes it, the more cursed energy is used. Given that Dai’s technique doesn’t cause any harm, it’s usually used to distract opponents or gather information.

Marionette: This technique has only been seen once in the Takashi family, the technique’s user is Tsumugi. Tsumugi is able to create cursed spirits with her technique by pulling negative emotions from non sorcerers. The more negative energy she can pull from a human or a crowd of them, the stronger the spirit. Once it’s fully manifested Tsumugi can then ❛ enter ❜ it. Once she’s in, she can control the spirit, but it leaves her body open for attacks since she can’t manipulate both at the same time. While controlling the spirit, her normal body goes into a coma like state. The stronger the spirit she creates, the more cursed energy it uses. Once Tsumugi returns to her body, the cursed spirit ceases to exist. Tsumugi can create cursed spirits using her own cursed energy, but there are downsides to this. The first being it needs a non sentient host ( like a puppet ) and the second being that any damage it takes gives her half of it.

resident evil 7 mia and ethan

can I go on a weird tangent? for a sec? I got reminded today that at some point playing through RE7 and leaving Zoe behind my mind just went blep. In the first hunger games book we hear about a hunting trip that Katniss and Gale went on where they watched two people run for their life one was murdered and the other was captured and there was a line where Katniss and the girl who was captured lock eyes and Katniss says "you never forget the face of the person who was your last hope" after thinking of that I went off on a different thought about Peeta getting hjacked in the last book and programmed to kill Katniss.... and Katniss just not being able to deal with it and everything aka Katniss wasn't qualified to deal with Peeta's hijacking which is a huge minefield.

Much like Ethan with Mia yes Ethan was a ass to Mia but she did chop his hand off with a chainsaw and there is a element of he knew something was rotten with her job (they both say so like Mia at the start of the fucking game "i did lie to you I shouldn't have" and Ethan on the boat after fighting Mia, fighting Mia again; molded; Jack three times and Marge twice and poor deputy anderson was a thing and the clancy chronicles), as Mia's spouse Ethan was suspected of having something to do with her disapearence by the police (something I don't see get brought up often) for who knows how long (depending on the cops it could have been a short amount of time or they could have been so certain they tried to get a false confession when my mental health is shit I watch true crime and one of the videos I watched by Eleanor Neale two parter I think can't remember it but it was one of the many cases she has covered where all cops are bastards) probably from when they realise a ship full of people went missing to their brains catching up and realising how one person miles away can cause a huge ship full of people to disappear

also I love how Ethan says "try" to Mia after she say's she can't and then Evie destroys the boat and draw Mia into the Annabelle and to the tape where she remembers everything clearly. I say clearly because as Mia says she only remembers a little and its a hard difference between reality and halluicantion because Evie made her hallucinate a door not being there

basically how can a traumatised person help another traumatised character when it was bascially a cause and effect, Mia caused Ethans trauma it was the last thing she wanted don't get me wrong but it still happened much like Chris trying to protect Claire by not telling her even a little bit about what happened in the Spencer Mansion. But him not telling her lead her to go too RC.(its also why I think a RE5 remake is so needed because Chris is traumatised as fuck and it doesn't show through much like OG 4 didn't show Leons shit mental health) its basically their traumas going against each other like pinballs (thanks ladyknightthebrave video about Haunting of Hill House for putting that line in my head).

and Mia calling Eveline a little bitch was her both resigning herself to her fate whilst also trying to provoke Evie as she saw it happen with Alan he was infected yes and possibly dying but Evie killed him (also with Alan is when Mia got infected- cutscene death of a friend) and it worked Evie doesn't show up again until Ethan is in the salt mines and when we see Mia again she is hooked up to a IV in the helicopter

Her name was originally America, which was something of a pun. She was a mermaid, she had red white and blue hair, America, it was a no brainer lol. It’s still her first name because I think it’s funny, but her hair’s a gradient now, so what else would she go by?

One night I had a dream that basically boiled down to King Arthur in a modern era, and someone asked “I thought you were alive hundreds of years ago!” And someone went “oh that was a drunken fortune teller. Went babbling on about something they’d foreseen.”

Again, I thought that was so fucking funny that I had to add him in, and as an extra explanation as to how this crack head family became royalty I had Mer marry him, which also solved her name problem. It worked out pretty nicely, I think.

One has gone through a lot and is actually probably my oldest OC. Their name was originally Otrera, but ya know shit happens and she started using they/them and legally lost their name, so I started calling them The Nameless One, or just One for short. I think it also worked out well, representing their feeling torn between their two families and becoming a hybrid, so they’ve got a bunch of stuff on their plate and they wish for a while that maybe one day they won’t have to feel so torn. So they took the name One. For that reason and also the fact that calling them The Nameless One kind of seeped it’s way into the world

And “Isodel” popped into my head. It also looks like Asphodel, which is a part of the Greek afterlife, which I think added to the seriousness of her name :]

Granted, that’s probably not the first thing Danny should be saying to the guy that just bit the curb, but in his defense; he’s not running on 100% right now either.

The man -- tall, towering, and broader than Danny is tall -- whips around on his heel, black frayed cape flaring out impressively. Danny would've whistled in appreciation, but he takes the time instead to wipe the back of his hand across his mouth, smearing the blood running from his nose across his cheek.

"Sorry." He blinks widely, not even flinching as the man with the horns zeroes in on him. "That was rude of me. I have a really bad brain-to-mouth filter; Sam says its what always gets me into trouble."

And she's not wrong either, per say. His smart mouth is what landed him in this situation -- with blood blossom extract running through his veins and cannibalizing the ectoplasm in his bloodstream. Thanks Vlad.

The man grunts at him; a short, curt "hm" that shouldn't make Danny smile, but he does because he's somewhat delirious and probably concussed. The man keeps some kind of distance, sinking towards the shadows of Gotham's alleyway like he dares to melt right into it.

If it's supposed to scare Danny, it doesn't work. Danny's never been afraid of the dark; he's always been able to hide himself in it. He blinks slowly at the mass of shadows.

"You look hurt." The shadows says, blurring together around the edges. Danny squints, and licks his lips to get the blood dripping down his chin off. Ugh, he hates the taste of blood.

"I am." He says, "My godfather poisoned me. M'dying." The agony of the blood blossom eating him from the inside out looped back around to numbing a while ago, so all he feels is half-awake and dazed.

"Hey," Danny stumbles forward towards the man, a bloodied hand reaching out to him. "You-- you're a hero, right? You're not attacking me; which is more than I can say for most costumed people I've met." Maybe it's a poor bar to judge someone at, but he's already established that Danny's not in his right mind.

The man makes no change in expression, but Danny realizes blearily that it's hard to tell with the shadows on his face. He stays still long enough for Danny to latch onto the cape -- stretchy, but almost soft under his fingers.

He looks up blearily into the whites of the man's eyes. "Can you help me? I don't-- I don't wanna die." Again. He doesn't wanna die again. He blinks slow and lizard-like. "I mean- I'll probably get to see mom and dad again, but I told them I'd at least try and make it to adulthood."

There's a clatter down the street, and Danny's ghost sense chills up his spine and leaves a bitter, ashy taste in his mouth. He immediately knows who it belongs to even before the deceptively gentle; "Daniel?" echoes down the way.

"Daniel? Quit your games, badger, Gotham is dangerous for children."

Danny's mouth pulls back, and blood spills against his tongue. "Please." He rasps, and grabs onto the shadow's cape with both hands. "Please. He's going to kill me. Please--"

"Daniel? Is that you?"

His lips part, dragging in air to plead with the darkness again. He doesn't need to, the whites of his eyes narrow, and the cape whirls around him before Danny can blink. Soon swaddled in shadows, the Night lifts him up, and steals him away.

In my opinion, Bruce should be above average height or at least average. But since he surrounds himself with demi-gods, aliens, meta humans, etc, he's just dwarfed next to them. Like maybe about 6'1 or 6'2, but that's NOTHING compared to Diana '7'3 feet tall' Prince. Or Clark '6'9' Kent.

All the tabloids claim he has to be at least 5 feet tall because the only photos they can get of him are when he's next to his giant ass friends.

It is also my personal headcannon that all the robins stay shorter than him, except Jason, who should be at least 4 inches taller.

Soap isn't sure when his assumptions started, nor is he sure how it got to Gaz and Price himself. 

Maybe it was when he started to notice that Ghost left base whenever he could. (How come ye never leave base? It's a hassle havin' to go back and forth for nothin', Johnny.) Maybe it was the smudged color of red and pink on his balaclava, the lingering perfume on his hoodie, or his new wallet taking the place of one that was once worn out.

"Wha's yer favorite perfume, LT?" "My enemies' sweat and tears."

(It's well-known that despite the fact that Ghost does consider the 141 to be his family, he keeps his personal life very private and away from them. They respect that, in turn, but let's face it, Soap is nosy.)

Really, it was an accident. Soap swears it was!

He just happened to be passing by his lieutenant in the bar where the team had all gone to celebrate a wreck of a mission that they've managed to successfully finish. Truly, it was an accident when his eyes caught a glimpse of Ghost's new wallet, and he really, very much so did not mean to watch a little too long – long enough for it to open and reveal a hefty amount of cash and a small square of colors, barely noticeable. 

Soap's feet move before he could quietly search for more.

"Got a new wallet, aye?" He slides beside the taller man smoothly, just as the Brit had grunted out another order of Bourbon. Ghost hums in acknowledgement.

"Y'got a crush on me or somethin', Johnny?"

Soap chuckles even if the other does not. "A just happened tae see it. Fancy little thing."

It doesn't take long before Ghost disappears into the night, but the Scot swears his pace was a bit faster than usual when he left the awfully-smelling bar, and Gaz would be lying if he said he didn't see the little picture of a pretty bird tucked away in his scarily huge lieutenant's wallet.

It's not that Soap often makes bold assumptions about people and their personal lives, not when they're out of reach from him, but can you really blame him for thinking that the words 'Ghost' and 'girlfriend' do not sound right in the same sentence? Would it be considered an assumption this time if he'd seen the photo himself? Surely, his superior isn't some perverted freak who keeps an image of a breathtaking woman he randomly found in his private items. Uh, he hopes not, at least.

"Bullshit!" is what a drunken Soap yells when the Brit nonchalantly discloses to the team, without hesitation, that he is simply not interested in dating. He spills everything he's gathered in the past few months, from the smallest hints to the biggest; the unfamiliar strand of hair on Ghost's hoodie to the wallet from months ago.

"A'm no crazy!" Soap convinces no one as he's ushered back to the barracks for making such an insane assumption about the lieutenant in his unreliable state. Ghost's lips curl up into a smirk against the cold glass of Bourbon in his hand, sat back and relaxed with his legs spread wide.

Call him a big baby (he is) for making a fool out of his sergeant instead of just telling the truth and bragging about his angel to the others, but can you blame him? He just wants to keep you tucked away in his pocket, away from everyone else. What are you talking about, lovie? 'Course 'm not ashamed of you. You're just too pretty for them, is all. Gotta keep m' girl safe, yeah?

Besides, they don't have to know the way Simon melts into the nook of your neck when he gets home from deployment or know that he uses your lavender-scented shampoo. And no, it doesn't matter that Johnny knows. It's his word against the lieutenant's. He spares his LT and turns a blind eye this once.

When the time is right, Simon is sure to properly introduce his heart to his unspoken family. For the time being, he just wants to keep you his pretty little secret.

I haven’t fully talked about Shini’s life in the adult industry, how much money she makes, and how it affects her emotionally and mentally. So I’m finally doing it. It’ll all be below the cut.

Due to Kumo being a prostitute herself, Shini has been exposed to the idea of she’d work since her childhood. While Shini didn’t exactly witness every detail of it, she knew that the men coming to visit her mother weren’t just stopping by for coffee. Her and her mother never talked about what Kumo did for money. It isn’t until Shini’s around fifteen that she fully understands what Kumo was doing, but that this point she has already been living with her adoptive father Hiro for quite some time. Hiro did attempt to shelter Shini as best as he could and give her some semblance of childhood, but it had grown to be nearly impossible especially with all the violence in the fourth ward.

After the raid on the apartment complex Hiro ran for other ghouls, Choki had convinced Shini to come stay with him and that he would take care of her. Still having a small bit of naiveness in her, Shini went and lived with him. I’m not going to go into depth about Choki grooming Shini because there’s really no need to, but that does happen. After being with him for a little over a year, Choki had convinced Shini to let him document their sexual acts, he later sells said videos without her being aware of this. Shini does find out about it after going into an adult store with another woman that was in a similar predicament with Choki, Shini ends up finding a VHS tape with her on the sleeve cover in the new videos section. When Shini confronted Choki about it, he threw a large wad of cash at her which only had big bills in it and told her “this is what you’re good at, so this is what you’re going to do.” This is when Shini realizes that the only reason she’s getting the best treatment from him compared to the other girls he had beneath him was because she was the one making him the most money. It’s important to note that while adult videos starring Shini did make good money, Choki would never give her everything she made, just enough for her to take care of whatever she had to do. This was also done to ensure she’d keep coming back to him. Shini ended up taking a break from making content for him for over a year after she got pregnant with Jigoku and Akuma.

Choki noticed how quickly Shini’s body recovered from being pregnant and it gave him an idea to have her act in snuff films. This is how Shini learned that due to her repeated acts of cannibalism she had developed the ability to temporarily halt her regeneration, this is how she would make it seem like she genuinely died in these films. These films have become Choki’s biggest source of income when it came to his escapades in the underground adult industry. These videos could be found on the dark web and if the viewer wanted to watch it they’d have to pay well over $300 in bitcoin to get access to the film. At this point Choki has Shini making two of these videos a week and even doing a weekly red room livestream of it. This isn’t something Shini wants to do, but Choki is using the twins as leverage to get it to star in these films. When Shini is filming, her mind isn’t present at all, instead she mentally transports herself somewhere else.

Even after Choki’s death, Shini continues to do make these films. Because he had groomed her to be a pornstar and because she never got a proper education, it is the only thing Shini knows how to do and is good at. It’s also the only way she can make enough money to support her children and lifestyle. She absolutely refuses to have her children living in areas that are dangerous, she never wants to have to pick between what bills she can pay that month, and she wants to be able to spoil her children, giving them the childhood she never got to have. Shini’s worst fear is becoming anything like her mother when it comes to how she treats the twins.

Shini was once told her body was a temple, a scared place meant for those who had intentions of showering her in holy worship she didn’t believe she deserved. She sees her body as nothing more than an abandoned house, filled with whispers of false promises from the ghosts of men she can’t remember. Her clothing being the stained and tattered curtains that would grant glimpses to eyes that lingered too long. The outside covered in graffiti made of cuts and bruises. It’s very hard for Shini to view herself as a person and not an object of male desire. Shini doesn’t like how she looks, and it’s not because she doesn’t find herself to be attractive, but because her beauty has always been seen as an invitation for unwanted touch. While in public she does wear revealing clothes and still sells that idea, when she’s in her own home she’s completely covered up.

Being in the sex work industry has completely destroyed how Shini views romantic relationships and intimacy. It doesn’t matter how pure a man can present himself and his intentions to her, she will always believe he is going to have an ulterior motive with her or try to take advantage of her one way or another. While Shini has had hookups and meaningless flings, she doesn’t really get any enjoyment out of them sexually and she doesn’t really know how to express what she wants in the bedroom properly since everyone she’s ever been with just did what they wanted to do with her. The only time Shini can get any type of pleasure out of sexual acts is when she’s by herself.
