do you guys think they targeted marlene first because they knew her death would affect the most people?

peter knew her death would be devastating to everyone including himself which is why he did it so he could never come back from it and go forward with serving the dark lord. kind of like his own punishment for himself.

we’re at the point where peter is done with james, he never liked who he became when he was around him, always in the shadows, but with marlene?

oh no, marlene held all the best parts of him. with marlene he laughed, and joked, and felt seen just being himself. she became the most important part of his childhood and he needed that gone if he was going to do what he did.

A huge issue I have have with this fandom is the (Young) Peter Pettigrew slander. Everyone goes ballistic bc he betrays the Potters and yada yada even though Regulus, Barty, Evan and any other death eater did pretty much the exact same thing.

So, I want to write a fic. Peter centric all about Peter discovering himself and his sexuality / identity while his friends all fall in love around him. (+ a couple other things)

A list of stuff it would include:

I got the idea while listening to Little League by Conan Gray and it would be loosely based off that

Childhood Friends Headcannon/AU

1. Peter and Marlene ‘got married’ in elementary school. James officiated

2. When Sirius and Marlene started dating James and Peter would jokingly call him the mistress

3. After they got married Marlene referred to Peter as ‘her first or ex husband’ sometimes

4. Sirius does not find this as amusing as she does

5. James informed her that he wasn’t an officiant and so her marriage to Peter was not legally binding

6. Marlene and Peter were both ‘shocked’ at this revelation

7. Remus finds this all very amusing

8. Peter and Marlene get each other things every year on their ‘anniversary’

9. Neither has any romantic interest in the other they just think it’s funny

10. Sirius was so confused when he asked Marlene out and she said she would have to check with her husband

11. She then turned to Peter and asked him if it was cool if she went on a date with him

12. James and Peter both started laughing

13. In a world where Sirius and Marlene have a kid she sometimes refers to Peter as ‘other dad’

14. Sirius really doesn’t like this joke

15. The other Marauders do

15. When their kid is old enough to catch on the sometimes call Peter ‘Uncle Dad’

16. In a world where Peter did kill Marlene when she was reunited with James she told him ‘don’t you know the husband is usually the culprit?’

At some point I started headcannoning Marlene with major mommy issues I don’t know why but I did and now I’m thinking about Marlene and Peter as childhood friends where Marlene spends every second of summer that she can with Peter

Imagine Marlene the day the Death Eaters came to her home. Imagine the moment when the Death Eater in front of her removes his mask, and she is confronted with the face of the boy she grew up with—the boy she once called her best friend, the boy she once loved and with whom she shared everything. Imagine the look on her face, the searing pain in her chest.

"I'm so sorry, Marls," Peter whispers, vile enough to call her by her childhood nickname. He raises his wand, pointing it directly at her heart. All she can do is shake her head, her eyes brimming with tears, memories, and betrayal.

"Point it at my head, Peter," she says, looking him directly in the eyes. She won't try to fight anymore. "You already killed my heart."

So, I'm working on a Dorlene royalty au and I really need to settle Peter's ship but I'm too indecisive to pick :/

Information: Peter is an extremely important side character, since he's Marlene's best friend and one of her roommates. He's morally light-grey – not entirely good, but fairly close. I depicted him as a very thoughtful and inquisitive character; he likes to read and gives excellent advice. Overall, he's a very likable character (or at least, I hope he is!)

Effie: *telling stories of baby James, baby Marlene and baby Peter, and their childhoods to their friends*

Effie: “mamí my phone is gonna die, the card isn’t working” and I’d ask everytime “are you with anybody?”

Effie: cause I always— moms wanna know — is my son alone or does he have a friend that he’s at least with? And it was always:

Effie: “yeah, Marls and Pete”. So there was always this Marls and Pete who was always with him. And I thought “thank goodness for Marlene and Peter”.

She slaps him across the face.

Lily: Do you feel no remorse for anything you’ve done? Did you think before you betrayed the only family that ever loved you? We were your friends. James was your brother. Marlene was your sister. I was your sister. You destroyed everything, Peter. Our friendship. Our trust. You ruined—

James: Lily, I reckon he’s gotten the point.

Lily: You lost everyone because you are a coward. Not even Marlene will look in your direction. You’re a rat, filthy and pathetic. And now you’re alone. Forever. What do you have to say?

Peter: I’m sorry. I was scared.

Lily: How the fuck do you think we felt? You killed all of your friends. All of them. And none of us will spare you the mercy of your guilt because you didn’t think to let us live.
