-Williams' Rising Star: Y/n L/n-

Williams has announced that American F2 Champion, Y/n L/n will be making her Formula 1 debut next year alongside Logan Sargeant. She has been making waves in the world of motorsports for over a decade now, and it seems that all of her hard work has finally payed off. She's already been placed in the history books for her impeccable talent on track and her inspiring work off it. Not only has she broken plenty of records in feeder series', but she also contributed to the creation of F1 Academy.

From Long Beach a to Monte Carlo

Early in her karting career Y/n was scouted for the Mercedes Junior Drivers Team and she's seemed to have a close relationship with Toto and Susie Wolff ever since. She uprooted her life from California to London as a young teen, taking a huge risk in hopes to accomplish her dreams.

What does this mean for F1?

With rising representation in all areas of f1, we can hope to see young women getting more opportunities to make their mark on the sport. Let's face it, the future of F1 is female.

"Plan A, Y/n. Plan A," your race engineer said to you on the radio.

"What about plan C? I think it will work," you responded.

"Uhm, as of right now we don't want to risk your position, so plan A, Y/n, plan A." they spoke softly.

"I can hold the tires, I swear. We're already at the back of the pack, we have nothing to lose."

"I think that's the first time I've heard a driver try to argue their way out of the main strategy," Crofty laughed on the broadcast.

"Box, Y/n. Box."

You sighed, thinking you've reached your defeat. You pulled into your pit box and noticed the green ring on the tires.

They're putting you on inters.

They're following your strategy.

You clicked the radio button back on, "Thank you," you screamed to your team.

You were briefed with everything a few days ago, but you couldn't help but come up with your own plan after getting the weather report for the weekend.

The rain was about a minute away now and you begged the team to put you on intermediate tires right at this time. You knew it would be difficult to drive on a barley damp track like this, but if it worked you could be looking at a podium.

You only had to drive a single lap before it started pouring and your plan payed off. Almost the entire grid struggled with their dry tires in the new track conditions, giving you time to create a lead as they had to slow down and pit.

Every lap you completed as race leader made you more anxious than the last. You held your breath as you reached the last corner of the last lap, vaguely able to see the chequered flag. Tears filled your eyes as you crossed the finish line in P1, the Williams garage being shown on the big screen sprinting out to congratulate you.

Before you had the chance to jump into the arms of your team, Oscar was running up to you. He picked you up and pressed his soft lips to yours right in front of the cameras. You smiled into the kiss, happy tears still streaming down your cheeks.

He pulled you into a tight hug, "I'm so proud of you. I love you so much," he mumbled into your hair.

"I love you too, Osc." you laughed through your crying.

He pulled away, cupping your face in his hands, and kissing your forehead. You smiled as he wiped your cheeks with his thumbs.

"So... instead of us interacting with each other online to keep our relationship private, you decide to make out with me in public?"

Oscar laughed and hugged you again, "Just enjoy the moment.”

I have some thoughts in my mind lately in the Self aware au R1999 (I'm invested so badly), I was wondering are there any arcanist that resented the player maybe at first or still having resentment on them? Because if the player wasn't there they would be " free " (which I would doubt since there are many players and it would still happen nonetheless but just speaking from there perspective) did they just helplessly or casually got over it after some time and accepted the fact it was a game I mean they were levelled up by the player,the player was the reason why they were getting stronger and winning every battle but I have a feeling some arcanist would have some doubt in them since everything was just a script in the first place all the things that happened to them were meant to happen for the plot, I don't about how to reach when they find out that the player was a human though.. But just like earlier if the player never was here then they would be " free ",they wouldn't know it was just some game (they gonna go bree since they wouldn't exist)(RAHHH I might have wronged what I said in this😭 I just have a thought in my mind about them doubting, feeling frustrated and all...Btw I am badly down bad for your writing 💜💜💜 I admire it so well.. 🥹🫶🫶 can I get a hello Please.. ?💜🥹💜 I'd go crazy being noticed on a writer I admire)

your question is very broad, so I can only make a quick list to categorize all the characters and how I think they'd feel overall towards the Player within this AU! since you only mentioned arcanist, I assume you mean the playable characters only, so that's also the group I'll be tackling

I don't have a good grasp on every single character, so some of these are subject to change as I learn more about them too o7

It's very, very complicated.

Vertin. Door. Mesmer Jr. Bkornblume. I consider these characters to be "outliers" in terms of how they perceive the Player--in the sense that their opinion fluctuates and varies a lot, so they cannot be easily labeled in any of the other categories. They're contradicting or find themselves at odds with themselves, seeing the figure of the Player and everything the Player represents as positive and negative influences simultaneously. To them, you're a close friend and a distant stranger, a saviour and a harbinger of ruin, a source of knowledge and the end of everything--you're all of these, all at once.

as for the rest, I only described the opposite ends of the spectrum and the neutral category!

Extremely resentful and hateful

Some of them simply don't care because this entire reveal doesn't exactly change their routine nor perception of the world. Some are choosing to remain neutral until they gather more information to form a solid opinion.

here are my thoughts on wwdits (i went from liking the show to being indifferent)

i wish they couldve decided if they wanted to be a IASIP show or a OFMD show... like if theyre just idiots with short plots or if they wanted to set up for a longer storyline? it felt like they didnt know which direction to go until the last couple seasons

i was so disappointed with theeee finale where guillermo gets shipped off in a crate and they all travel, only for the next season to start with them all returned?! i wanted to see everything that happened 😭

Guillermo also being like. the slapstick comedic relief was funny for the first two seasons and then they started teasing bigger plotlines that went nowhere... I got tired of it ?? my partner feels the same, (them being latine) and seeing him be the butt of every joke just started grating on us after awhile. we wanted him to have a win or at least for things to look like they were changing

annnnd then they did the bit where guillermo feels like every day is the same and then the series felt like it went back to the same shit as before again...

and then the plotline with marwa (the lady nandor was with? his wife) was. hm. very unfortunate. and guillermo finally having a bf just for that to get taken away from him. idk. they put wind in the sails and then change direction that the wind vanishes

it feels like they were pulled back and forth with things they wanted to do vs just wanting these characters to be unchanging and shitty (which is fine bc iasip does that!!!!) but like. they just couldnt commit one way or the other and it felt disorienting ? bc i wanted the characters to change but the writing didnt feel the same

idk if any of this makes sense?? and thats not to say its not an enjoyable show (i still love clips and the performances themselves are top notch, a lot of the episodes on their own are very funny of course) but its sad that the writing felt so torn with what they wanted to do

Hobie owns this antique store that sells all kinds of old stuff that even he doesn't know where it came from. He kinda took over it after working as a part timer there when the old owner passed.

One day he finds this jade coin that looks like SUPER out of place cause it's really clean looking and almost glowing if he squinted.

So he holds it up to inspect it but when he takes it away again, he finds himself in a completely different location.

Unbeknownst to him, the jade coin is a key to the spirit realm and acts as a gateway which accidentally brought him there.

The jade coin also belongs to the spirit (Jia) who manages a certain domain of the spirit world known for entertainment especially gambling.

So he kind of stumbles around the spirit world a little disoriented and confused cause one: spirit logic and magic and shid and two: the aesthetic of this spirit world is very different to where he lives (london..?)

But at one point he finds a seemingly 'abandoned' store and enters. Unknowingly, the building belonged to a spirit, Zee (GUMI'S CHARACTER RAHH 💥💥) who helps Jia run a casino (her main establishment) discovers that the jade coin is in his possession and takes him to meet her. Although the meeting was a bit startling since she had a gun pointed to his back AHSHAHSHSJ

--> The casino acts as second chances for souls to win certain wishes ie. visit human world as ghost, more idk ghost powers and shied, etc

And ofc he's not dumb and recognises that the jade coin has some form of importance and essentially bargains with Jia to let him go back or at least teach him how to go back.

(Maybe win/bet on a game but he's just crazy lucky and manages to beat her) she's just like 😧

He manages to return back to his little shop in london but ever since visiting the spirit world he has this nagging curiosity abt the world since it's so incredibly different.

And so he would go exploring in the spirit world, occasionally taking back antiques. However he realises he'd totally get super lost in this new place and somehow coerces Jia into acting as his spirit tour guide HAHSJA

Jia isn't super strict on rules and stuff unlike other leading spirits of other domains so she kinda just goes 🤷‍♀️ and follows him around.

Because he's human it sometimes causes conflicts with more aggressive spirits but because the jade coin has a form of connection to Jia, it acts as a summoning object to summon her if he ever needs to.

Like she'll literally appear in a cloud of smoke and then cast some spirit spells or smth HAHSHA

Over time, he spends more and more time in the spirit world but it has consequences on his soul as it starts to wander from his mortal body.

And at the point where his soul finally fades to fix itself into the spirit world, Jia essentially see his mortal body disintegrate in front of her,

However he doesn't seem alarmed at all in a way where it seems like he knew it was going to happen to him. He was willing to take the risk to continue exploring the spirit world as well as by her side.

Over the next few days or so, his soul needs to be readjusted to the spirit world so his presence disappears for a while (standard soul procedure and stuff) but Jia never stopped looking for him.

Until the day she finally sees him again but souls don't recall memories of when they were alive, he forgot about her since the time he spent with her was when he was still alive.

She feels so guilty for what had happened as she spends another couple of days before finally deciding that she was willing to trade her souls for a him to be resurrected in the human world again since he didn't even die fairly.

So he is resurrected like nothing ever happened (time passes differently in spirit world cause plot hole 😍)

His memories of everything that ever happened in the spirit world and all that he is left with is a weird jade coin he doesn't remember having and a empty feeling in his chest.

🔪 A headcanon relating to fighting/violence

Kazemaru:

Kazemaru usually isn’t the type to get into serious fights, unless you start provoking him about questioning their club’s skills, then maybe you’ll get a bit of a rise out of him. He doesn’t care much about what people have to say about him, so long as you don’t undermine his or his club’s skill.

He’s an instigator for petty squabbles in the clubroom though, handling bets on who would win. Keeps a tally for “Days without stupid arguments” in the clubroom.

(He was let go when he fell asleep)

(Someoka once tried to just put him on top of the closet and then he proceeded to jump Someoka.)

Fubuki: //actual violence skip to the GO Fubuki part if you're sensitive to that!

Instigating Fubuki will lead to Shirou doubting himself silently depending on who it is. He has to hold Atsuya back from harming the person, But they can’t always hold themselves back. This will lead to situations where Shirou’s just silently trying to stop Atsuya from doing it while the person mocks him more, leading to Shirou doubting himself more and Atsuya getting even more upset. And their body feels cold but there’s a warm burning pain in their chest and maybe tears are about to come out, and maybe they’ve already landed a hit or more, and maybe they’re being dragged away, and maybe it hurts to breathe from that kick to the ribs, It's hard to differentiate when it feels like their brain is being disorganized.

GO Fubuki is more inclined into getting into fights.

Petty fights with Atsuya usually go like this,

Kazemaru:

Losing himself to the want for power again. Sometimes when he watches over his friends' smiles, He thinks of that day he gave in to the aliea meteorite's powers. The day he lost himself, along with his team. He's wracked up guilt over it and he knows that they've put it in the past by now, But he can't help but beat himself up over it. His hand still stings as a memory of that day.

(skip this part if u have an issue with like. bug/worm mentions. just skip to Fubuki then.)

Worm. he just do not like them they make him cringe thinking about worms on his skin ewww yucky

Fubuki:

if I get personal this means acknowledging my fears that hit too close. I'm not doing that! not today !!!

Shirou has an interest in unnerving things, playing lots of horror games and being an avid fan of horror media in general. Atsuya isn't as good at stomaching such things, But he insists that he can. He can't, and Shirou notices this, so when Shirou can tell Atsuya needs a break, he goes off and does something else for them.

💤 A headcanon about their sleep

(THIS IS AN EXCUSE TO ALL STARS ALL OVER THE PLACEEE)(I GOT DERAILED WHILE TALKING TO MY FRIEND ABOUT HCS. SO. THIS WILL BE LONG…and. Some of these might be unrelated. oops.)

Kazemaru:

Sleeps on his side. Argues with his life that it’s the best position to sleep in. (Kidou would argue otherwise, finding that sleeping like you’ve been put in the coffin is much better.)

Kazemaru argues with Kidou that side sleeping is much better and Kidou just offhandedly goes "Not for your uneven ahh face from the center of gravity pulling onto your face while you lie down like that for hours"

"let's not talk abt faces here mr marks on my face from wearing my goggles all the damn time" Kazemaru would shoot back.

And then they laugh at each other and hug, then Kidou goes “Obviously sleeping on one’s back is better though.” And then they get launched into a 2hr debate.

Stopped by Endou mentioning that he just sleeps on his stomach which is the WORST for anyone's back. ever. especially with all those hits he takes from those soccerballs.

Fubuki:

When he does fall asleep on his bed, They prefer having a plushie to hug. If he's in Hokkaido, they prefer to have a cozy soft blanket.

If he's staying over at Inazuma City, (Kidou’s house bc there are probably sooo many guest rooms..) He likes having the air conditioner on high, Kidou swears it was like a barren frozen wasteland when he opened the door to Fubuki’s room.

Caffeine makes him sleepy! He doesn't remember this all the time though, leading to “oh.shit.shit.shit.shit.” moments when he drinks coffee while pulling an all-nighter to cram a project and realize exactly what he'd done. He likes the taste of the coffee though, that’s what he drinks it for. He only avoids it when they’re sleepy, at least try to.

One late night hanging out with each other, Kazemaru mentions how he once spotted Kidou just pour the beans into the cup and then chug it. Atsuya wants to try it once, but Shirou constantly tries to stop him.

Atsuya’s usually the one who’s fronting when they wake up, finding himself wherever Shirou passed out last. This time was the washing machine! He was taking out the laundry! Atsuya tries to get them to a bed before their body passes out.

Heavy sleepers, once he falls asleep there’s no chance of waking him back up.

Always looks like he’s about to fall asleep.

his fear of loneliness is literally so yummy (i love angst) and like you and i were talking about before you said he'd probably be the type to try not to burden others with his problems and i also find that so yummy to because like man this silly little guy has so many issues.

Lilia is not really the most reliable person to go to a festival with, given his child-like chaos

you're gonna have to be the one to keep your eye on him, who knows where he'll wander off to if something random catches his interest

you won't even need to ask him what prize you want, he's all for trying every single game and winning

gets so many prizes, he'll start listening this one's for malleus, this one's for silver...

don't forget he has major dad energy so he'll strike up conversation with the staff and suddenly they've known each other for years to the point that the staff gives him hints on how to beat the games

his photography skills are pretty bad, and you'll end up with around 200 pictures added to your phone

despite his enthusiasm and confidence as he threw compliments at you snapping away, only 10ish pictures are usable

the rest are either a blurry mess, or your facial expressions are too... creative

he is to blame he kept making weird analogies and hyping you up so much you couldn't help but burst out laughing

he might be a fossil, but he's definitely mastered gen z photography aesthetics!

he's not the most textbook boyfriend, but you can't deny you hold every chaotic moment dear to your heart

i suppose there's never a moment of monoteny with him!

You snap your head towards him, flabbergasted and blushing. But before you could come up with a response, something else caught his attention.

"Oh my! Dearest, look at that!" Feeling a sense of deja vu, you follow his gaze to see a... gargoyle plushie? "It'll be a perfect gift for Malleus!"And with that, he's off, leaving you behind, still flustered as you scurry back to him.

So, Cursed (2020), is pretty bad! And I wanted to say a few things because somebody had to. This is mostly ranting.

Cursed was rife with problems from poor pacing to poor worldbuilding to plain cliche and uninspired story arcs, but the most glaring issue has gotta be Katherine herself who c a n n o t carry this thing. It was gonna take a very strong and compelling actress to make Miss Nimmyway work and she is not that. The wooden acting just exacerbates all the issues the character has, which plague a lot of badly conceived fantasy protagonists. Mainly, being devoid of real charm and personality and having no agency because she plods through the story largely reacting to everything and not driving the action (while other characters fall at her feet and love her inexplicably and are there to hold her hand and tell her plot points to react to etc). When she starts “acting out” and showing I guess some semblance of personality, it’s because of ~magic corrupting her, so of course when she snaps at someone or goes into a rage it’s not really her fault and there’s no growth or organic character conflict to develop her. She also does a thing I’ve grown to loath in many protagonists where they get people killed or make stupid mistakes, and then angst about it but really they’re not taking any blame or examining their behavior, they’re just wallowing and making it about themselves. And of course other characters are there immediately to coddle her because actually, she did nothing wrong! And please, be our queen, girl we met five minutes ago who merely showed off some powers (which she complained about the whole time btw)!

Devon as Arthur is great and he can actually act, and he was trying so, so hard sell his romantic dynamic with Ninny but there was no saving it. He was one of many better and multifaceted characters trapped in her orbit where her lack of charisma and overall static character development makes it very hard to understand why he’s so sprung over her, let alone why she wins anyone else over enough that they want her as queen. And on that note idk why all the other characters (her included!) constantly treated him so badly and he himself keeps struggling with his own honor and sense of goodness when he’s an all around goodhearted and noble guy from the jump. It’s like the show was gaslighting me lol. I feel like their plan too is for Arthur to win hearts and minds and take the throne through merit, which I am here for, but I suspect they’re gonna frame it like he stole it from Ninny or something. Like I personally would love that because she sucks, but it’ll be tedious sitting through a show telling me she’s been so wronged by him, if that’s where they’re going with this eventually. I mean they’ve already had it so Morgana only starts feeling negatively about Ninny because (again) corrupting magic, because this show can’t bear to have characters form doubts about her competence or worthiness in a sincere way. 

Morgana is another character played by a lovely and talented actress who immediately adores Ninny (well, I guess not immediately, but they had Ninny tell her “hey, being gay is okay” and that’s enough for Morgana to declare them bffs forever) and she too suffers from trying to prop up Ninny all season. I couldn’t believe it when in one scene Ninny throws a fit and tosses the sword in a canyon and Morgana jumps to declare she’ll go fetch it while Ninny literally sits and pouts. I mean??? And that’s basically their dynamic - Ninny complaining and Morgana bending over backwards to push this useless girl to her “destiny”. Lol and I guess they’re gonna expect me to side with Ninny when Morgana goes all dark sided. 

It is so telling that one of Arthur and Morgana’s strongest moments was when they get their one (1) scene talking to each other about something that isn’t Ninny related. Devon and Shalom saw the chance to Act and they came alive right there. 

Daniel is the reason I first heard about this show and I unabashedly loved his character and all the dramatic dance fighting - he was the highlight for me lol. (I KNOW I know) But that’s a problem when said character is very underutilized. He appears in every episode I think but sometimes that just amounts to less than a minute of screen time. His secret Lancelot on a path to redemption is one of the few twists on the legend that I’m really into, but there was so little to see of him. Like of course they must have been planning more focus for him next season, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t more they could do with him here. His redemptive turn is prompted by a few scenes in the finale when they could’ve been seeding it more throughout. And I would’ve loved more scenes with him and Arthur (who managed to spark with him in their one fight scene far more than he does with whatshername). Before I’d seen the show I would’ve said I hope he interacted with Ninny a lot to see if there was something worth shipping but uhhh... hard pass on the idea now and it’s maybe a relief I didn’t have to sit through him falling in love with her instantly while she looks bored and delivers her lines with the exact same cadence for every scene.

And speaking of female characters he is presumably going to have a romantic arc with (that’s assuming this show actually gets a s2 which it doesn’t really deserve... .....), we have Red Spear. Or should I say RRRRED SPEEAARRR RAHHH because the actress couldn’t say a line without rage yelling it. And I wouldn’t care except I know this woman is meant to be Guinevere according to the book and.......... ...... ..... Like putting aside my aggravation at Guinevere being another rawwrr warrior woman because these writers have very limited ideas for Strong Female Characters apparently, but I can’t deal with her also being lowkey deranged like RED SPEAR comes across in all her scenes. She was just too much. And we have such a good Arthur and Lancelot and the thought them trying to make that love triangle work with RED SPEAR is actively painful.  

On that note, I’m a tiny bit hopeful that the fact the Guinevere name drop never happened in the show (as it did at the end of the book) means they’ve realized the actress can’t do this and they’ve cut that. Maybe she’ll be recast? Ideally they rewrite the plan for Guinevere entirely and let her be, god forbid, a courtly maiden who can’t fight but is no less “strong” for it? What a concept. The team behind this show doesn’t inspire confidence on that front, though. They seem set in their ways... I am also preparing myself for the possibility that they just merge Nimue and Guinevere after they realize Nimue has largely served her purpose already and they struggle to come up with things for her to do. And then my suffering will continue because I will keep watching this garbage for Daniel.

I have no idea what the viewership numbers are for this show - I would guess not great but worse things have been popular on Netflix so who knows. It doesn’t deserve a s2, but the show is potentially salvageable I think? I mean my recommendation would be letting Nimue stay dead at the end, her purpose and story finished, and let Arthur take over as the main with Lancelot and a new, not Red Spear Guinevere, as co-leads. You could really have something with that combination. Also get a new showrunner and reshuffle the writers’ room while they’re at it.

Sienna: Rahhh!

Jaune: What’s wrong now?

Sienna: They’re getting bigger! It’s those damn Albain brothers, I know its them!

Jaune: Uhh, what’s wrong?

Sienna: A splinter faction is starting to form amongst the, White Fang.

Jaune: A splinter faction? What’s happening?

Sienna: They believe that the current, White Fang is growing soft, that we must escalate our attacks against those that discriminate against the faunas.

Jaune: In other words; they want blood.

Sienna: They want full scale war! Idiots! They think that just because we won the last war we could win the next one!

Jaune: That’s impossible! Atlas, is too formidable as it is to fight in open warfare. They’d be stuck to nothing gorilla tactics. Tactics that would only be a small annoyance to Atlas, they barely be able to make a dent! Not to mention they could get innocent faunas caught up in all sorts of trouble!

Sienna: They’re fanatics! Because of the Albain brothers they’re practically religious zealots! Spurred into religious zeal to tell the world how great faunas are. Killing people won’t prove we are better than others. Only that we are monsters…

Jaune: Those two always carried themselves more as priests preaching to the masses, than actual leaders. And, they’ve always had this zealous nature to them. How bad is it, the split between the White Fang and these… Fanatics? Actually, do they have a name, or something?

Sienna: They do, it’s the… Haa… Its the Fractured Fang…

Jaune: …

Jaune: Beg pardon…?

Sienna: They call themselves the, Fractured Fang.

Jaune: I thought I heard you right. That’s stupid!

Sienna: I know… They may know how to rile up a crowd. But, naming things… Gods that’s awful.

Jaune: I know this is serious, but I can’t take them serious with a name like, that!

Sienna: Neither can I, but we must. Zealots are dangerous beings; to both themselves, and to those they oppose.

Jaune: Hmm~!

Sienna: W-Why are you smiling? Stop smiling, this is serious, Jaune!

Jaune: I’m sorry, I can’t help it. You’ve grown so much since you became the leader of the, White Fang. I’m so proud of you.

Sienna: Jaune! N-Now’s not the time for this!

Jaune: I’m not letting a splinter faction of religious zealots, who couldn’t spend five minutes to form a think tank to come up with at least a decent name, stop me from admiring the woman I love.

Sienna: Jaune… Your a hopeless romantic, you know that?

Jaune: Really?

Sienna: At times. Which is also a problem.

Jaune: How?

Sienna: There are many amongst the, Fractured Fang who do not approve of our relationship. They believe that our union is making the Fang weak. That you have, declawed me, and that I’ve debased myself when I’m with you.

Jaune: Impossible! You’re claws have only gotten sharper, and become a far stronger woman since we’ve been together.

Sienna: Thank you! I’m Sienna Khan! I’m no weakling who shy’s away from danger!

Jaune: But, in the bedroom its another story entirely.

Sienna: Jaune!

Jaune: Hey! You’re the one who brought the collar, and the leash, not me!

Sienna: JAUNE?!

Jaune: Hehe, oh its fun to tease you.

Sienna: Shut it.

Jaune: Never. How are the numbers between the two groups?

Sienna: There’s actually three groups: White Fang, Fracture Fang, and those in middle. While we hold the majority, if they can sway those in the middle to join their side, we’ll be even. Who knows what may happen if that is allowed to happen.

Jaune: I can think of a few ideas… Hmm, we need to tell, Ghira. He needs to know about this, besides with his help he might be able to help us sway more to our side, and prevent any sorts of infighting from happening.

Sienna: Agreed. We best inform him at once, the sooner we can nip this in the butt, the better!

Jaune: Alright then, lets get going.

Sienna: One more thing before we leave.

Jaune: What is it?

Sienna: Tonight, you’re wearing the collar~!

Jaune: You can dream all you want, but you’ll be the one wearing the collar at the end of the night, Kitten.
