I was actually just thinking yesterday about how annoying it is that emotional wounds - ie trauma - have no visible manifestation, unless you count all the unhealthy coping mechanisms, autoimmune problems, cortisol issues, etc. that spring up from them. But they are more symptoms than the wound itself. Like if you had knee surgery so you were limping you could show someone the 12ā incision on your leg, but you canāt show someone your childhood trauma when youāre having a panic attack. They just see the panic attack.
The more work and study I do around invisible things the more staggering a problem this appears to me. Just about all of us are walking around with old wounds, new wounds, festering wounds, healing wounds, that no one can see - and we canāt even see them ourselves, if weāve distracted or numbed ourselves enough. And Iād dare say this bridges into spirituality, because the more I read about asceticism etc. the more clearly it becomes all about seeing and tending and āorderingā our emotions - which are gifts from God that help us survive in the world - and nurturing our reason or rationality, which is derived directly from the Divine. This is why the goal of the early monastics, the Desert Mothers and Fathers (along with the Stoics) was apatheia - which isnāt truly our idea of āapathyā or no longer caring (which would be a sin) but rather having the right emotions at the right time and always under the control of reason. So you absolutely might yell and get mad and even shed some tears if someone broke your favorite coffee mug, but youād no longer be overwhelmed with the desire to gut punch them in return.
I firmly believe most of our desires to gut punch people actually stem from our invisible old trauma wounds, which makes their invisibility a huge problem because we canāt stop wanting to gut punch people when we canāt see why we are in such a state of pain that lashing out is almost an automatic response. If you had an open wound and someone touched it accidentally nobody would think less of you for instinctively batting their hand away. But we canāt see all this going on so we live in this culture of constant conflict and chaos and violence. And the worst part is we start to think itās normal, āThatās how the world is,ā because the alternative, a society of the healed and healing being kind to one another, is so rare.
#trauma#emotional wounding#I know there is stuff out there that sort of reaches towards this like Reiki and actupuncture#but Iām actually talking more along the lines of good psychotherapy#accompanied by somatic exercises#because the body and the mind are one thing#and there are psychological wounds in a spiritual body#oh if I talk enough I might make sense one day

The heaviness of constant striving, of endless self-improvement, of perpetual becoming - it all stems from forgetting one simple truth: your existence itself holds worth.
This isn't about fixing or changing. It's about remembering. About letting the shoulders drop, the breath deepen, and the constant chase pause.
What might fall away if we stopped trying to earn our place here?

what to invest in to look and feel good this 2024
nutritionist or books on healthy and balanced nutrition
dental treatments
endocrinologist, if you need to know and take care of the functioning of your hormones
treatments for the care of your skin and hair, such as hairdressing, good products for hair and face, facial cleansing, treatments that your skin needs, go to a dermatologist if you need it, know what type of skin you have and know what are the right products to take care of it.
gym, a sports activity or time to do some exercise on your own, such as training at home. this not only helps your body look good, but also improves your physical and mental health.
psychological therapy, there are still people who believe that the psychologist is only necessary for people with serious problems, but that is not so, a therapist can guide us and help us to improve in the areas of our life that we want.
energy therapies, which would be complementary to psychological therapy, such as reiki, energy cleansing, access bars, among others.
quality time with yourself, do the things you enjoy, your hobbies and also time with people who make you feel good and from whom you can both enrich each other.
and if you have more ideas about this, share them in the comments, it can be of great help to other people āØ

To clarify,I don't believe in porn makes you evil and I don't believe in like fantasies are evil. I'm pulling this quote off Scarleteen "āIf we arenāt both careful and creative we can get stuck in fantasies that donāt mature and politicize with us."" I'm also new to being about to vote, so I'm trying to be careful about what I consume and what stereotypes media perpetuate. Like I'm not moralizing about kink or anything, and my ask was how can I get aroused with media wo my kinks or wo media
hi anon, welcome back! I'm genuinely very glad to hear some follow up.
for anybody who doesn't stay vigorously up to date with all of my anons, this ask is a continuation of this one.
so I went and checked out the Scarleteen articles you mentioned in your first message, or at least I tried to. How to Approach Sexual Fantasies and Desire on Your Own Terms is here, and while I couldn't find anything with the exact title 50 Shades of Abuse, we do have 50 Shades of BS - How to Tell the Difference Between Kink and Abuse as well as 50 Shades Crappier: On Selling Abuse for Valentine's Day, both of which cover how the 50 Shades series isn't a great model of real, responsibly-practiced BDSM.
now, here's what I didn't see in any of these articles: an assertion that anybody needs to, as you've decided to do, avoid any work that depicts anything less than perfectly healthy sexual practices.
the closest we get to that is the quote by adrienne maree brown from How to Approach Sexual Fantasies, which you mention above. now, here's the thing: first of all, I actually disagree pretty substantially with brown's assertions that one's sexual fantasies need to "politicize." I know what my politics are; the fiction that I enjoy can't change that, because I don't have the moral backbone of a chocolate eclair. I actually just talked about that earlier today in another ask.
(also, and this may be an unpopular opinion, but adrienne maree brown is kind of a dork who doesn't really say much of anything in Pleasure Activism that Audre Lorde didn't already say better and more succinctly, and I personally lost interest in Pleasure Activism pretty much the moment she casually dropped that she practices reiki healing because that's a pseudoscientific alternative medicine that doesn't do shit or fuck. but I digress.)
listen, I'm not trying to peer pressure or bully you into watching anything you don't want to watch. your porn consumption is up to you. but what you're doing here is absolutely moralizing, I think maybe because of an underlying assumption that media that involves sex is just, like, innately different than any other type of media, which is in itself an idea that stems from sex negativity!
I don't know, let's just try to play out a little thought exercise here. like, would you consider it reasonable if somebody told you that they've decided not to read or watch anything that depicts problematic behavior because they don't want to normalize it. like, first of all, they're never watching anything but Bluey again. except actually not even Bluey because I just remembered about Bluey in the genocide, which actually makes for a great illustration of how nonsensical and impossible it is to try to only engage with media that is 100% ideologically pure.
and again: that's fine! that's literally fine! it is 100% okay to watch or read or play things with morals that don't totally 100% align with yours. it's okay to enjoy them, even. it's a lot healthier than trying to avoid upsetting or incongruous things entirely, because that gives you the chance to actually think about it rather than trying to shut it out entirely! that article actually provides an entire list of questions you can run through with yourself to critically analyze the things you watch if you feel so inclined! that's a much better skill to practice than avoidance!
I get that when you're new to sex, as you said in the previous ask, this might seem daunting, but your brain isn't just a sponge that will uncritically soak up and adopt anything you expose it to. you very clearly have the ability to research, differentiate between fiction and real life, and form your own opinions! and it is absolutely fine if you want to just watch porn with your kinks!
like, listen, I see what the question is, and the easiest answer is just. do whatever gets you off.

itās very out of the blue, but I feel like you might have an answer: do you mind sharing a way to ground or open your sacral chakra? I was told that might be something I need to work on but engaging with it eludes me
Hello, Friend,
First, letās clarify a few concepts:
Grounding refers to becoming more centered in your body and present in the moment. It's about connecting with the earth to bring your energy down from the upper chakras and distribute it evenly throughout your body. Grounding stabilizes and connects you, forming a foundation for removing blockages and allowing energy to flow freely through your chakras.
Opening a chakra, on the other hand, is about activating and energizing the chakra.
As a reiki healer, I have worked with clients who have experienced different blockages ā overactive (which can feel hot) and underactive (which can feel cold) chakras. In my experience, while reiki and sound baths can support chakra healing, the most significant progress happens when clients actively engage in their own healing process. This work requires patience, consistency, and commitment to a daily practice.
I am curious why you specifically mentioned the sacral chakra. Understanding your experience with this chakra could help identify what might be blocking it and how best to balance it. Below I will speak in broad general terms about my experience with grounding, the sacral chakra, and ways people recommend to balance it.
The Sacral Chakra: Creativity, Emotional Expression, and Sensuality
When the sacral chakra is unbalanced, it can manifest in various ways:
Emotional instability Insecurity and anxiety Addictive behaviors (overindulgence) Resentment and guilt Lack of creativity Feeling unmotivated Lack of desire
When this chakra is balanced, you feel emotionally grounded, creatively fulfilled, and physically vibrant. You are inspired, creative, sensual, passionate, playful, energetic, joyful, balanced, and connected.
Grounding Techniques When I work with clients on grounding, we usually use meditation, breathwork, and visualization.
Tree Visualization/Meditation: We hold hands, close our eyes, and synchronize our breathing. I then guide them to imagine themselves as a tree, with roots extending deep from their feet into the earth. They feel the energy from the earth rising up through their roots, stabilizing and centering them. Their arms and hands become branches reaching for the sun, feeling its nutrients invigorate them. They imagine their branches swaying in the wind, taking in carbon dioxide, and releasing oxygen back into the atmosphere. Their body is the tree trunk, feeling strong, connected, and supported ā energy flowing freely.
Barefoot Walking: Another effective grounding technique is walking barefoot on natural surfaces like the earth, grass or soil. Whether itās a walk in a park, forest, or beach, this direct connection with nature can be incredibly grounding.
Connecting with Nature: Touching nature, hugging trees, talking to plants, and listening to their responses are other powerful ways to ground. Gardening can also be a deeply grounding practice, even if its just potted plants inside of your home. If you don't have any plants, visit a plant nursery and become a plant parent. If you are nervous about being a plant parent, start-off with a small succulent. They tend to be easier to care for, although a few have died while in my care.
Physical Exercise: Physical activities like swimming, walking, or going to the gym can help ground your energy and bring awareness to your body.
Water Connection: Water is especially beneficial for grounding. Whether it is taking a dip in a stream, river, ocean, spa, swimming pool, or even a bath or shower, water can help you reconnect and stabilize your energy. Practice luxurious bathing. Water is my personal #1 healing & spiritual practice. (It is not out of the ordinary for me to take 3 showers a day.) If I don't swim every day, I feel it. I just got back from a multi-week silent meditation Buddhist retreat in the mountains, and I brought with me a glass bottle of my swimming pool water to anoint myself everyday. (I also used it to water some of the trees and plants around that I was connecting with.)
Dance: Movement is another way to ground yourself AND release blocked energy. Donāt worry about how you lookājust move! Create a playlist of three songs that get your body moving, and let your body guide you. Dance as if no one is watching, allowing your intuition to lead the way. (Here is a link to a Spotify playlist of songs for intuitive dancing.)
Sensory Connection: Engage in activities that bring pleasure and engage your senses, like:
Enjoying a favorite meal mindfully. Turn off the TV and electronic devices. Close your eyes and take your time to chew slowly, savoring each flavor as it unfolds on your palate. Pay attention to the sensations of eating, how the food feels in your mouth, and how your body responds to it. Allow yourself to be fully present, appreciating the nourishment and pleasure that each bite provides.
Mindful Tea or Coffee Drinking. Make a ritual out of it. Pay attention to the sound of the water boiling, the aroma as it brews, and the warmth of the cup in your hands. Sip slowly, savoring each flavor note and texture, and allow yourself to be fully present in the experience.
Textural Exploration. Spend time exploring different textures with your hands. This could be anything from soft fabrics, like silk or velvet, to natural textures, like stones or leaves. Close your eyes and really focus on how each texture feels against your skin, allowing yourself to be absorbed in the sensation.
Opening & Balancing the Sacral Chakra involves a combination of the grounding techniques (above) and also some suggest the below:
Color and Crystals: Some believe that the sacral chakraās association with the color orange means that eating orange foods (like oranges, carrots, mangoes, and cantaloupe) or carrying orange crystals (like Amber, Carnelian, Orange Calcite, Gold Tigerās Eye, and Moonstone) can help balance it. This also includes wearing orange clothes, perhaps a new orange scarf or shoes? October is coming up!
Yoga Poses: While I am not trained in yoga (and only practice sporadically) certain poses are often recommended for opening the sacral chakra, such as Mountain Pose, Tree Pose, Warrior Pose, Crescent Pose, Goddess Pose, Forward Bend, Bound Angle Pose, Triangle Pose, Pigeon Pose, and Butterfly Pose. Aromatherapy: Mindful breathing with scents. Using essential oils like jasmine, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, orange, or patchouli can also support sacral chakra healing.
Creativity: Expressing yourself creatively is key to sacral chakra health. Write, draw, paintālet your creative energy flow. Even if you are not feeling particularly inspired, just start. A single brush stroke or word on a page can lead to more. Make creativity a daily practice, whether it is doodling, writing a sentence, or something else.
And probably the most important recommendation on how to balance your sacral chakraā
Emotional Exploration: Since the sacral chakra is closely tied to your emotions, consider exploring any underlying emotional issues or traumas that might be contributing to the imbalance. Journaling daily, therapy, or talking with someone you trust can be powerful tools in this process.
Even though I tried to be as thorough as possible above, I should note that I am NOT actually an expert in the chakras. I disagree with the common western belief that there are only seven chakras. I believe that there are A LOT more. Each finger has at least four! Chakras are energy vortexes. And I have a lot of opinions about them.
But like I mentioned above, doing the grounding work that I mentioned along with a daily practice, should help you.
If you want to come off Anon and send a personal message, I will be happy to provide more thoughts on the subject specific to your circumstance.

BHP hire us for a Christmas Session Pack (5x consultation sessions with the core magicians).
Session 1 we imagine what seeing a ghost would be like, to see a ghost that isnt a media representation of an era, for example a woman from the 1940s the way media has documented that they looked and acted, instead how an actual person in 1940 is, how they smell, how a face that's never seen concentrated blue-light appears to our eye, pre-media apparition. Whats the vibration of non-synthetic fabric like when draped on flesh that's never touched synthetic fabric?
Session 2 we pretend to be Aboriginals experiencing First Contact with a plane in the sky, in country South Australia. We are PANICKED and racing to find a tree to hide under and also experiencing an insane pull to watch and monitor the sound and structure threatening us. We let our physiology really take this one. Maybe we go raw camping and have a vintage bi-plane fly over to experience it for real? We have been educated by an Elder on how to camp in the conditions of the region, and how camp life may have been in the time we are embodying for the exercise.
Session 3 we pretend to be Aboriginal Australian's experiencing stories of First Contact from another tribe. Two of us are the delegates to receive the information from the other mob first. We don't know what we are about to hear. We may or may not have a framework to experience this through. Then the two leaders discuss amongst themselves how to best convey this information to the rest of the family. Then we are the family hearing this information for the first time and reacting instinctually, feeling. Immediately, emotionally, riddled with cortisol, we formulate a plan on what to do, how to process this New Experience, what now?
Session 4 Phase One: we gather at Highpoint and make crazy scary eyes at Shoppers. Paranoid schizophrenia. We are doing improv based around the idea that shoppers are under trance and need to associate their actions with threat and fear, in an attempt to wake them up. Perhaps we have had a few lectures on Charles Manson and Jonestown (The Peoples Temple Agricultural Project) in preparation for this spiritual mission. Phase Two: We do the same but sending the shoppers loving perception, knowing that they are victims in a trance, we try to perceive them in a way that breaks the trance lovingly, with compassion and understanding. We have probably taken showers, changed outfits, and have cleared the prior energy. We probably have take Reiki and K-PSYCH courses in preparation and are coming to this exercise as Reiki Masters and reasonably versed in Kinesiology.
Session 5 we meet at sunrise at the corner of Elizabeth and Flinders Street (where we have asked BHP to relocate an adult sized mature gumtree) and burn the gumtree. Agency Agency does a lot of work at this location.

A daily reiki practice
Though energy work in Reiki is simple, but to maintain and strengthened Reiki flow within us, we need to dedicate an hour or two to do some Reiki exercise.
The question is, Reiki has been developed into so many style with a lot of techniques and symbols, so what Reiki style and techniques to be practiced?
Many Reiki masters has its own answers, but to me, we need to go back to what Reiki is in the first place which is a technique to connect our soul to the heart of the universe through meditative state of mind.
Therefore, we need to eliminate unnecessary techniques every time and enter into deep meditative practice in the end.
To do so, i offer a simple guideline to practice Reiki daily
1. To do self healing Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā whether you are already pass level 1 or shoden in Reiki, you still need to practice self healing to yourself, because self healing soften the muscle and bring clarity to your physic quickly, this is an important step before any further exercise. 2. Cakra cleansing method Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā In Gendai Reiki ho we use Cakra Kassei kokyuho technique but you can use any technique to cleanse cakras in your own Reiki styles. Clean cakra help you feel balance and fresh. Bring clarity to the mind 3. Light breathing exercise Ā Ā Ā Ā This technique put our consciousness to Tan tien and at the same time deliver Reiki energy to whole body area, you will feel a heat sensation and your cakra get more active. 4. Gasho meditation Ā Ā Ā Ā At last, the last menu in this exercise. It is purely a meditation practice aiming to melt our consciousness with Reiki consciousness. Gasho means, that in original Reiki tradition this meditation was conducted in Gasho position, both hand in prayer position in front of the chest ( namaste position).
Where is the symbols? well symbol can be used just before start the entire practice, it use is to assist you in your practice. Donāt think that the symbol is sacred, it is only a helping tool, the most sacred in the end is your connection with the Most Highest within you.
Peace and prosper
