Text
The young heroes took on an unassigned mission, they wanted to prove that they were capable of being independent.
They never thought that a collection of information would become the rescue of two clones of two of the strongest members of the Justice League.
However, although one of the leguers sees nothing wrong with being cloned, the man of steel, who has never shown rejection towards any being, is not ashamed by the violation of his privacy.
Despite the fact that the result of said action was not the fault that it seems to have been attributed to him.
Then, to everyone's surprise, the ghost hero decides to take the rejected clone with him.
According to him, Superman is the one who loses while he gets two for the price of one.

The Villains Daughter
So! Years ago, back when the Justice League was only just starting out, only a year or two after their initial team-up, they had one of their biggest battles to date. A group of Extra-Dimensional Beings had burst into their reality, hellbent on destroying a Government Facility and the nearby small town in Illinois.
They barely managed to beat the Invading Army back, although the Government Facility and a part of the nearby Town had been destroyed in the battle.
Later, they would learn about what had happened. Apparently the Government Base, called a GIW Facility, had managed to finally Crack the secret to Interdimensional Travel a few days earlier. Unfortunately, they had opened a Portal into a Dimension known as the Ghost Zone, ruled over by a Tyrant King who wanted to enslaved all world under him. Their Breaching of the GZ had alerted the Tyrant King to the existence of their Dimension, and he had launched an immediate Invasion to try and take it over.
And the evidence supported this.
Wonder Woman shared Legends of her People, telling that their Founding Ancestor had fled the rule of a Tyrant King when she passed into the Afterlife.
Zatara shared his Magic Tomes, showing them passages detailing the horrific Rule of the Tyrant King of the Infinite Realms.
They even asked Boston Brand, the Deadman and resident Ghost about it. He hadn't been the the Ghost Zone in Years, but even he told them that he had personally fled the Tyrant King.
And they also learned that when the Tyrant King set his eyes on something, he did not falter on his Warpath to acquire it. The Tyrant King, Pariah Dark, would be back for their World, again and again.
And they needed to be prepared. This Battle was what kickstarted their true Commitment to the idea of a Team. They knew they could not defeat Pariah Dark alone, so they needed to remain as a Team.
But there was another thing that came about from the Battle.
While the JLA had been helping clean up, Wonder Woman came across a strange sight. A Baby had been left in the rubble of the GIW Building.
She asked around, investigated, and did all she could to find the babies parents. At first she thought that one of the GIW Agents had brought their kid to work that day, but their records indicated that none of the Agents had children of that Age. And Neither did any of the other workers who worked on the base, like the Janitors or the Kitchen Staff. And of they did, all of their children were accounted for.
She eventually came to the conclusion that the Baby must belong to somebody in the nearby Town, but that lead led nowhere either.
She finally came to the conclusion that the Baby's parents must have died in the Invasion, a very unfortunate but very real possibility. She was going to place her into the System, but over the course of her investigation she had grown fond of the Child.
She decided to Adopt the baby herself. She didn't know the child's name, so she had to come up with a new one.
"How do you like the name, Stella?"
The baby gurgled in delight.
...
Over the next decade of their Teams Existence, the Justice League had to fend off the Legions of the Ghost King's Army many more times. It seemed that Pariah had grown wise to the fact that they were the ones defending the Human Realm, as almost all of the later attacks were directed on them personally.
It made sense, they were the First Line of Defense against his Armies, if he managed to defeat them, their World would soon fall.
But they dealt with the attacks as they came. They had made it their mission to defend their Home from the Forced of Pariah Darks Army, and they would not falter now, or ever.
In the case of Wonder Woman, he Daughter had grown to be a fine little lady. Stella had eventually developed Powers similar to her mother, in that she could fly and had super strength, and had begged to be trained as a Hero.
And who was Diana to deny her Daughter her greatest wish? Over the next 5 years, Diana trained Stella in the ways of the Amazon's. Then, when Stella was 15, she had her join the newly formed Young Justice.
She made a great group of friends on that Team, and even started going by Ellie as a Nickname. Her best friend was by far Conner, though she didn't know why she felt such a strong connection to him? It felt like she could relate to him, but her situation was completely different?
Ah well, her Mom wouldn't mind having another kid, would she? She always wanted a Brother!
...
Meanwhile in the Ghost Zone, the Ghost King was getting anxious. After 15 years, his Agents in the Human Realm had finally managed to set up the Ritual needed to Summon Him into the Human Realm.
Who knew that accepting the Ghost King's Throne would bar him from entering the Human Realm through normal Means? He couldn't even use the Portal, he needed to be summoned or he simply wouldn't be able to leave his new home dimension.
But now, it was almost time. Just another year or two, and he would finally be able to enter the Human Realm. He would finally be able to Find Her. His Daugther.
Danny would finally be able to reunite with his daughter, Ellie.

DP x DC prompt:
After Superman’s initial rejection of his very existence, Connor runs away, hoping to find someone, somewhere, that’s willing to help him despite what he is.
Several months later, a popular band is going on tour. They came out of nowhere, yet immediately became a fan favorite despite the fact that they consisted solely of teenagers.
They call themselves “The King And The Clones”.

So like a while ago, I posted something about a half-kryptonian (Warrior Caste) Billy Batson as well a Captain Marvel adopting Superboy.
See what I'm getting at? :3
So Superman has a whole Kryptonian Encyclopedia downloaded into him but really, it can't equal growing up in the culture as Kara makes that abundantly clear even by accident.
Rejecting Connor is a dick move, having him be adopted by the only other possible Kryptonian on planet he knows and have the guy inexplicably dislike him even more is worse.
Connor gets introduced to Kryptonian things ironically in a more organic way than Superman
He's basically a 3nd gen immigrant and he's got his new dad to help with learning their culture
Cap helps remove Connor's hidden programming, Connor helps remove the kryptonian programming that keeps Warrior castes subtly subservient to the Science caste.
Connor can't fly bc human genes? Magic can help.
Time travel or dimension travel is involved at some point so they can visit Krypton
Billy has been entrenched in both cultures all his life, his insults across both languages are flawless and Connor benefits from this
Connor insults Superman at somepoint in flawless native kryptonian so good Kara can't help but high-five him even if she hisses at that burn
Superman - devastasted. Man's can understand the insult, but can't conceivably reply in anything even close to as cool
Captain Marvel is surprisingly (only to some of the League) okay with his son going off on Superman
"Kid needs to express his feelings in a healthy manner. If that manner is dunking on Superman, who am I to stop him?"
Billy just approves of dunking on mean adults and child-abandoners regardless
Kara Zor-El ends up half siding with them bc Cap can cook, specifically, he can cook authentic Kryptonian dishes well

I had some though, about the classic "Danny adopt Connor because Clark don't treat him right" scenario.
I'm not gonna defend Clark, first because he's objectively wrong (poor Connor did nothing to warrant rejection and he needs love!) and second because it seems like a strawman of the toxic masculine fear of "being trapped by a woman making a baby with him without his consent" (see also Damian Wayne...)
But.
Without being defendable, it's actually understandable that Clark didn't reacted like Danny. Because Lex is not to Clark what Vlad is to Danny.
Vlad wanted to adopt Danny. He is his father's best friend and, for a part of the phandom, his godfather. They had a prank war between us. They collaborate against greater foes. They're two of the only three halfas in existence. Dani was created has a potential heir to be loved, before being discarded by Vlad as not good enough.
Lex? Lex wanted nothing from Superman but him to stop existing. He's no kryptonian, nor want anything to do with them. He hadn't try to make a child or a pet but just a pawn, a thing that could punch his target hard enough. He stole the genetic material of a dying race to finish its extinction himself.
Would Clark had reacted the same if the clone was created by Zod?

I have time at work so post I will. This is a modified repost of a l response I made to Moonwings on ch4 of Blister Pack (but it's about "the chapter with the most trauma")
*
Hello! I am back late with coffee.
Okay so 1) My study in genetics only went as far as biology I and II in university, which was largely concerned with preparing us for Organic Chemistry rather than the nitty gritty of genetic material. That being said, the idea of Danny as a source of mitochondrial DNA is super rad, and I do think that Danny is more of a genetic contributor to Connor's code, since both Lex and Kal-El get 50/50, but every single part of Conner has to be stabilized with Danny's genetic goo in order for him to hold his shape. Depending on how the scientist team structured the initial cell that become Conner, it's totally possible that he got Danny's mitochondrial DNA, but it's also totally likely that ectoplasm in general just screwed with the whole process, and could have even re-shaped pre-determined RNA strands like a virus. This is sick, I haven't had to think about bio in depth in ages :)
2) There's a big 'if' as to whether Conner was or wasn't 'born evil' in the JL's minds; Conner, as of this fic, hasn't been super socially active with his team mates and has been even less with the adult league. He's been isolate, quiet, and reluctant to socialize-- and sure, we know it's largely due to whoops-can't-tell-anyone-I'm-a-ghost stuff as well as lingering trauma from big Supes's immediate rejection upon discovery, but the league just sees a maybe variable acting sus all the time for reasons basically only visible to Black Canary, who's trying to detangle Conner's trauma with his own body autonomy and a lack of belonging with a wide-tooth comb.
I don't believe Conner even has an individual mentor as far as YJ goes. I think it's just Canary. That has to smart, considering everyone else has a parent figure to lean on, and Conner has...well...Big, Sad Supes.
Plus, Superman's never had to fight a half-Kryptonian before. He's not moderating his strength only because he thinks Conner is meant to go toe-to-toe with him-- and as soon as it becomes super obvious he's taking real damage, he and Black Canary call the match. Considering the paranoia about Conner (and the guy's own probable trauma just based around Conner's existence, which is...a def violation of body autonomy, so write that down), Superman's basically forgotten that even he wouldn't have been as strong as he is now at the age of sixteen. Add that all together and you get the sudden and abrupt realization that this training isn't going all that well.
Oh yeah. It's bad. Lots of neglect on everyone's part, since they're letting Superman take the lead when he really, REALLY shouldn't. But it's also not, like...a purposeful beat down on his part either. It's bad, and it only happened based on the JL's neglect of Conner in general, but it's largely a bad, painful, traumatic accident.
Feel free to bet on whether or not that makes it worse!❤️

♡ scenario: connor losing his mind when you're hurt and charging into the fight recklessly.
♡ pairing: connor kent ( superboy ) x fem! reader
♡ note: not checked for grammar or spelling mistakes / i'm sorry but i'm living for these angst to fluff moments rn especially bc i rewatched reign of the superman and forgot how much i loved connor in it.
Tumblr media
Connor watched as you were completely slumped on the side of the building, no longer clear headed and struggling to stay awake. what was supposed to be a clean and easy mission turned out to be more than what the league expected.
he had requested for back up and while they were already trying to fight off the thugs that were attacking Connor, he could still see that you were fighting to stay alive and he had no idea if you were even going to come out of this fight alive.
"what the fuck?" Connor whispered, seeing you now slumped on the ground. he turned to the person who attacked you, eyes fully red with no intention of holding back. Clark could sense his song was a second away from committing murder as he saw Connor charge into the heart of the battle with no game plan, just murder.
"SUPERBOY NO!"
+
you waved shyly to the group of league members as you hid behind Wonder Woman. you were new to the scene of sidekicks and had no idea how to even introduce yourself without sounding like a complete idiot.
"woah new girl!" you heard a male voice say as you stood in your place petrified. you had no idea who it was as Diana had yet to individually introduce you to everyone, "i call dibs!" you heard the same voice say.
Diana turned to you before grabbing the boy who was charging towards you by the head and tossed him back to Superman, "she's not up for 'dibs' Superboy. she's my newest apprentice and you will treat her as such," she threatened.
you giggled behind her as a few of the sidekicks introduced themselves. you knew them as the Young Justice team and although you weren't formally with the team, you figured Diana was training you to become apart of them in the future.
"( your hero name ), this is Superboy," Wonder Woman said, "he associated to the Super family," she explained as he pushed up his dark circled glasses and flicked his hair back, "pleasure is all mine," he muttered, shaking your hand.
you returned a tiny smile before she continued to introduce you to Robin and Impulse. you noticed how Superboy kept his eyes on you. you had no idea if it was because he liked you or he disliked you but every time you turned to look at him, he was already staring at you.
after introductions and the cliche 'your real identity is sacred' conversation ended, Diana felt it was for your own good to get used to your new 'teammates'. she wanted you to make sure you weren't uncomfortable around any of the YJ team even if that included Superboy.
"so, what do you like to do for fun?" Wonder Girl asked, sitting down next to you and handing you a bowl of popcorn. you shrugged, "uh, not much. I like to watch tv and read for the most part. no one really invites me to do things with them," you admitted, scratching the back of your head.
she laughed, putting her arm around you, "well that ends today! we should all do something fun! how about we go to the county fair? doesn't that sound fun?" she asked. you shrugged, not really opposed to the idea, "I call all the rides with ( your hero name )!" Jinny replied.
you smiled, following her and Wonder Girl out the door as Robin, Impulse, and Superboy followed behind you. Robin looked at him, "you like her don't you?" he asked, already calculating the minute Connor had fallen in love with you.
"well she's apart of the team, i'd like to hope we'd all like her," he replied as Robin shook his head, "no, you get what i mean by that," Robin pressed as he could see Connor's face fall with realization. he didn't reply but he could tell what he was tell Connor's real answer through his face.
as they arrived to the fair, they all booked it to the first food stand they saw. Robin offering to pay for everyone being Bruce Wayne's son had its benefits. you ordered a simple coffee as you didn't want Robin to spend too much on everyone.
"what ride should we all get on first?" Jinny asked excitedly. you pointed to the tallest ride, it was one of those high rides that sat two people at the top and had them spinning around, "oh I can't do that. it's way too scary," both Keli and Jinny said.
Superboy smiled at you, "I'm down if you are," he said as he grabbed two tickets from the worker, "cool," you replied as the two of you walked to the line, sweat already building up from nervousness.
once they sat the two of you and made sure you were both buckled in, you stared at Superboy nervously as the ride started up and pulled you up before immediately starting to spin. you stared at Superboy, screaming for you life. you unintentionally grabbed his arms, not realizing you were holding onto him as you continued to yell.
Superboy chuckled, finding your reaction cute.
+
after the months passed and you finally grew closer to everyone on the team, you were particularly close with Jinny and Superboy. you and Jinny shared a lot of common interests as she showed you how to shoot a gun and Superboy...well, everyone could tell the two of you were just seconds away from actually dating.
you walked into the YJ lair, sipping on hot chocolates with Jinny as the weather was turning cold. she was cracking some cringe dad jokes, trying to make you laugh as you tried to contain from choking on the hot chocolate.
"hey, where we yall at?" Keli asked. you turned to Jinny before giggling, "just doing a few errands we had to run before I had patrol with Superboy," you said, not really clarifying on what you both were actually doing.
although everyone could see how much you liked Connor, Connor himself thought you had a thing with Jinny. he knew she was particularly close with you and felt as though he was practically competing with her for your attention.
"do you have my phone?" you asked Jinny as she dug into her pocket and handed it to you. you grabbed your phone before quickly snatching her hat and putting it on, "yee-haw," you giggled into the mirror as Jinny started chasing you down the halls.
as you turned a corner, you bumped into Superboy and fell flat on your ass, "oh, I'm sorry Superboy, I didn't see you there," you groaned as Jinny grabbed her had and put it back on her, "you've yee'd your last haw," she said, making you laugh harshly.
Superboy's eye couldn't help but twitch as he gave you his hand, "ready for patrol?" he asked sternly. you looked to Jinny who crept away from the angry Kryptonian and left you to deal with him, "yeah, let me just freshen up again and I'll meet you outside," you murmured, going into the bathroom.
you quickly used the bathroom before checking if you had everything. you opened the door and walked into the lair's common area. Connor had yet to drop the angry attitude and everyone was eerily silent as you walked in. he grabbed you by the arm and practically rushed you out the door.
"weird," Jinny told Robin as he shrugged, "what isn't weird about him," he replied making everyone laugh.
patrol started extremely awkward. you hadn't felt this weird since you first started on the team and you had no idea what was wrong with Superboy since he wasn't telling you.
the two of you walked on top of roof, scanning the empty roads before you turned to look at him, "what's up? you seem bothered," you asked him as you both sat on the ledge, "seriously? you seem annoyed at me or something so at the very least you can try and tell me what's wrong," you pressured again.
he looked at you with eyes of determination before grabbing you by the collar of the shirt and pulling you into a very heated kiss. you were taken back by surprise but let him continue to kiss you. a part of yelled at Connor pulled you close but another part of him was still screaming at him that you still could've liked Jinny.
"I had to do that before Jinny officially took you away from me," your eyes fluttered in confusion, "uh, what do you mean by 'take you away from me'?" you asked, not knowing what he was talking about.
Connor sighed in frustration, "I see the way you're around Jinny and figured that she likes you and vice versa," he finally admitted as he stood up, not wanting to hear your response. you quickly stood up and grabbed him by the wrist, "hey wait," you said.
he stared at you, "I'm really not in the mood to get rejected ( your hero name )," he ran his fingers through his hair annoyed. you shook your head, "I don't like Jinny nor does she like me. we're just really close friends Superboy," you whispered, bringing him into another kiss.
this time, he was the one taken back but he melted into the kiss, all his negative emotions washing away as you continued to kiss him. he wrapped his arms around your waist as you him in closer by the neck. Connor was definitely not expecting this tonight.
"so does this mean that we're like....together together?" you asked playfully shy. Connor let out a laugh before lacing your hands together, "clearly. I can't let Jinny steal you away from me," he jokingly replied.
+
Connor ran to the three different henchmen as his strength was to the point of killing, not caring if he died in the process. he was recklessly dodging bullets, knowing they wouldn't do anything to him. he grabbed the first man and threw him against a wall as it collapsed around him. Connor only hoping that it did enough damage to unalive him.
the second one he managed to choke him out enough to the point where he passed out but that wasn't enough for him. you were on the brink of death and if he had to see you die, he was going to make sure the men who possibly killed you got what they deserved.
"SUPERBOY!" he heard his father scream again. Connor paid no attention to him as he grabbed the third henchman and slammed him to the ground, throwing punches left and right, "listen to me," Clark screamed at him.
he could see the tears coming down Connor's face as anger, fear, and sadness clouded his mind, "this is not you! pull out of it!" he yelled, shaking Connor's shoulder, "you're about to kill this man. I get that you're angry but you don't get anything out of hurting him. all you get it consequences and your girlfriend needs you right now more than ever!" he continued.
Connor finally shook himself out of his trance as he heard his dad telling him to go to you. Connor nodded and ran to you, seeing you unconscious and hardly breathing, "I'm taking her to the hospital," he yelled to Batman before hauling your body into his arms and flying towards the nearest hospital.
once he finally reached the emergency doors, he shoved everyone out of his way and to the front desk, "she needs help...NOW!" he yelled to the poor receptionist. the girl jumped up from fear but nodded and screamed for a bed and a few doctors.
the doctor asked Connor to place you on the bed before the doctor told him that he could follow them inside. a part of Connor wanted to straight up move the doctor to follow you into the OR but he knew that he'd get into more trouble with his dad and the MPD if he hurt anyone else.
for what felt like hours, he was waiting inside of the room they had told him you'd be in once you got out of surgery. he had already gotten the lecture from his dad about the consequences he would've gotten if he actually managed to kill the three men earlier.
"she's going to make it," the doctor told Connor as he walked into the room while they adjusted you to the bed. Connor nodded, "she'll be out of duty for months. she sustained a lot of injuries to her body that'll take weeks to recover and she got a nasty concussion so you'll need to play doctor for the next few weeks to make sure she's okay," he explained.
Connor nodded as the doctor told him that you should be waking up within the next few hours. Connor adjusted himself on the seat and got comfortable as he had no intentions of leaving your side until you were awake and ready to leave the hospital.
you woke up a few hours later, your body killing you from all over as you saw balloons all around the room. you knew you had landed in the hospital but you had no idea how long you were asleep or in a coma even. you turned to see Connor passed out next to you, his body slumped awkwardly.
"Kon, Kon wake up!" you whispered, shaking him softly. Connor jumped up in a fright as he immediately realized you were awake, "how do you feel? are you okay? do you need anything?" he immediately asked as you couldn't help but laugh at his frantic attitude.
"Connor, I'm okay, I promise," you whispered as you brought him in for a kiss, "my body just hurts and i'm still kinda tired," you murmured as Connor nodded. you managed to wiggle yourself enough to make space for him, "babe, it looks like you haven't slept in days."
"I had to make sure you were okay so i haven't exactly slept in a while," he admitted sheepishly. you shook your head, "you're too much sometimes," you giggled as you put your head on his shoulder, "but you love me regardless," he replied.
this was the first time the L word had came up in the relationship, "yeah, I guess I do but now you need to sleep," you said as you closed your eyes and felt Connor pull you closer to him, "I love you too by the way," you whispered, giving him another kiss on his partially exposed chest.

So I've actually been dying for your take on the Dani/Superboy situation in YJDW. I know it's coming up in the next few chappies, but idk I just love the parallel between Danny's acceptance and love for Dani and Clark's seeming rejection and awkward acknowledgement of Connor. I feel like it gets glossed over a lot in other fics, and they really don't go too deeply into the emotional implications that this has for Connor when he sees the familial relationship they have vs what he has with Clark.
Hello again!
The Dani-Superboy situation is certainly going to come up… although not for a quite a long while in-story; we’ve got a solid amount of stuff to cover in this one first.
We’re only just moving into the YJ part of YJ:DW at the moment but Conner and Clark’s relationship is going to get background development throughout.  By the time Dani gets involved in earnest our Superboys will have figured out something a smidge healthier, but yes - even then the idea that Danny accepted Danielle so readily does leave somewhat of a bitter taste by comparison.
TBH the thing that interests me more and that seems to be weirdly absent in a lot of DP x YJ fics for reasons I don’t understand is the relationship between Dani and Conner themselves.  We’ve seen our share of “Danny goes off at Clark” or even  “seeing Danny interact with Dani inspire-guilts Clark to step up his game” but there’s strangely little about Dani and Conner interacting, or their dynamic as some of the only two people in their combined universe who can empathise with each other’s situation.  I think they’d have a lot to talk to each other about finding personal value and individuality, and working out what to do when you were intentionally created for a specific purpose but chose to deliberately turn away from it.
I mean:
“See, you’re not a real boy, you’re a weapon and you belong to me”
“You. Exist. To serve. Me!“
I’m surprised that this parallel gets so little relative attention.
I can see them being very defensive/ protective of each other’s autonomy and right to be treated with respect.  There is a scene planned where Conner mistakenly thinks Phantom had been treating Dani the way Clark treated him and he goes off.
Also I like the idea that, despite being physiologically 2-4 years younger and about a third of Conner’s size, Danielle is the “older” and more experienced of the two, and more mentally/ emotionally developed/ healthy in her own sense of identity because of both it and her relationships with others.
To use a rather stale meme:
Broke:  Danny yells at Clark and shames him into being a better original.
Woke: Seeing Danny and Dani together inspires Clark to work harder.
Bespoke:  Conner gets a pint-sized life coach who encourages him to value himself regardless of what Superman thinks.

who's your fave yj character? mines Jaime Reyes !
AHHHHHHH I LOVE JAIME!!! He’s so good and his Blue Beetle powers are sooo cool! Spanish is my first language so any time he says something in spanish I go !!!!!!!! Man I wish we’d see more of him in Season 3...I hope he’s in more scenes in the second half of the season although I understand that he already had a big chunk in season 2 dedicated to him but still 😔
IT IS SO DIFFICULT FOR ME TO PICK A FAVORITE I seriously love them all so much. Young Justice is so important to me 😭 Rambling.....I love how far Dick has come and how much he’s grown even though I’m still fond of his sneaky funnyman behavior in season one pfff. I know he’s coping right now with a horrible loss, and I’m proud of him for staying strong. Artemis is so powerful!! And she doesn’t let her family ties define her....I’m so proud of her. She is still moving forward despite the immense loss and sadness she feels. Kaldur risked so much for the sake of his team in season 2, and he was such an incredible team leader in season 1 [re: its not his fault that the team has NO IDEA what a goddamn recon/sneak mission means....sigh] and I am so happy he’s the Justice League leader now and has also picked up the Aquaman mantle! Wonder Girl and Zatanna and Rocket and Bumblebee and Spoiler and Orphan and Arrowette and Halo and Oracle are each individually so cool and so different and so dear to me. Megan no longer fears herself or her real form and doesn’t worry about her friends and loved ones rejecting her for that and that is so goddamn inspiring. She is so cute too! Connor was a ball of rage and he felt like he was living in the shadow of Superman and also did NOT know the meaning of teamwork. I felt all of this at some point in my life LOL and he’s grown and become his own person and hell, so have I! Tim is a leader now! He got past his fears and pushed forward, working hard. Beast Boy lost so much of his family and close ones and doesn’t even get to live with his big sister cuz that bitch Mento is exploiting him for money in his tv show but he’s broken free of that and is rejoining the team in season 3 part 2 and I’m so relieved. I love Forager and Brion and Victor and Wolf and Sphere and even the Bioship very much too :] Bart Allen came all the way to the past to change the future, knowing that he wouldn’t get to go back to even know if he’s fixed things or not....he’s a very selfless person. Roy Harper and Will Harper have probably come the furthest in growth, though. One was iced for 8 years, the other existed as a clone during that time without even knowing it. Now Roy has mellowed out and accepted people into his life again, and Will has gotten through his heavy guilt and has a family. Wally [bursts into tears] was like my first favorite character all those years ago when it first aired. I think out of all of them I relate to him the most honestly. He was fun and outgoing and funny and loving and caring and loved food but he also had a lot of layers and depth and walls up that was all just hidden because of that “heehee I’m clowning” front.....I refuse to believe he’s dead there is no way they could ever permanently get rid of him. I also love all the Justice League members that show up in Young Justice like Batman and Black Canary and Red Tornado! I just fucking [clenches fist] am so full of love.

Red Prince Eternal /2
A/N: Continuation of part 1
Warnings as before
Summary: They’ve done it. Tim has completely rejected them and now, there’s no crying over spilled milk. He sits patiently, watching time pass by, but fate won’t ignore him forever and a new presence will disturb them all.
Damian was standing outside in the dark. Tim knew, hard to ignore that intense staring the magically passed through walls, or maybe Tim was just that perceptive. He was tired, a whole night of hacking, as fun as it was will do that to him, but he opened his window anyway.
“What is it Damian, it’s late.”
His eyes changed, the expectant look in them shifted to one of shame with the apology left unsaid but clear in his bright green eyes. Tim would be touched if his cold heart could feel anything now, and Damian knew that. He blamed himself and his family for their neglect, their misjudgment.
“Nothing, I just cam by to make sure you weren’t up to no good,” he said muttering. Tim smiled, aww, the little demon was concerned for him, stubborn brat is stubborn even in the face of his mistakes. Protective in his own way, but he was the only one who know he made them so Tim will spare him the sharpened tongue.
“Get going or Bruce will start getting suspicious.”
“He won’t know where I am,” Damian protested.
Tim scoffed, “Only because I hid your tracks, move along.”
Damian turned to leave, just shy of the edge of the circle of light coming from the street lamp, just then stopping and looking back at Tim.
“You’ll come to the manor soon, won’t you,” he asked, suddenly all innocent and childlike even with the uniform and mask that it took Tim by surprise. He had to pause and recover for a moment.
“Maybe, maybe I will.”
It was his way of saying he won’t ever. Not even for Alfred.
The suggestion was there, but Tim didn't want to see any of them, Batman, nor Nightwing or whatever Jason. He’d been thankful that Dick and Jason had stopped coming to his house, he was beginning to tire of hearing them say empty words to him, especially Jason who tried to bypass the door.
Oh yes, they’d made it very clear they wanted nothing to do with the ‘wannabe’, they had more important work to do than to even entertain the notion of a budding hero. What? He wants to help, he can start by staying out of the way. How very nice Jason, too bad you can’t take those words back.
Sorry Tim, but you’re not cut out for this. Why? Because he wasn’t strong enough? Smart enough? Tortured enough? What Dick, what is it that makes me worthless?
Get out of the way Drake, you’re enough trouble as it is without having to look after another imbecile, I’m more suited to the role than you ever could be. Because of what? Your heritage? It’s all about that isn’t it?
The nightmares, or dreams, or reminders as Tim liked to call them, were incessant. But they did the job. His world different now, one he built for himself, he was a hero no more and he preferred it that way. Damian, the dear brat, had somehow grown attached to Tim suddenly had the bright idea to ask him personally to join them, suddenly springing the question on him. Politely, Tim refused.
There’s no reason for them to change their mind, Tim certainly won’t.
So he continued his work. Alone in the big Drake residence, wrapped in comfortable silence and coffee, secrets of all kinds are valuable when you pry them from unsuspecting people. Blackmail, deadly and everyone wants in on it. He can do that. For a price. An unsightly life but it was the reason he’d built for himself, the will to live without relying on anyone, especially not on heroes. If he wasn’t going to be a hero, then why not take advantage of the unsightly demand out there and make a bit on the side. A bit meaning a lot more than his parents could hope to make in a week.  From the vengeful victim to the highest ranking criminal bully to a mob leader, he’ll cater as long as they don’t ask questions.
One warning, pry too far into his life and he’ll pry back and spill your guts. Pay or you get nothing. Go too far and you can kiss your comfy life goodbye. Tim has eyes everywhere where his little makeshift hero persona had none. No that goody-two-shoes hacker title belonged to oracle now.
He’d chosen to be ruthless, neutral and perhaps that little boy he once was would’ve been appalled at him now but Tim didn’t care anymore. Not when Bruce, Dick and Jason viewed him as nothing but trouble and no amount of guidance or effort would convince them otherwise. They pissed all over Tim’s whole hearted work, his admiration, his love and desire to do good. It left him vulnerable and he nearly did die once. Good old Joker though, he had to thank the bastard. That was a nice wake up call, for Tim and rather late, for them as well.
Ah, Damian. He beat Tim up once when the crazy kid found him once, believed he was a bad egg before he did his homework. It hurt, almost just as much as their distrust and rejection. But having him show up now with nicer things to say was, flattering. Tim’s not sure when Damian realized he might’ve been wrong.
They can knock as many times as their hands can bear it but that stays strictly closed. It’s more important to love and protect oneself than waste that on another. He won’t throw his one life to the wolves, endanger himself for others no more. And heroes always foolishly throw themselves into fire, so Tim will have nothing to do with them. He can apologize to the poor souls caught in Gotham’s life when he burns in hell.
He met a Super, Superboy to be exact. To be frank he already knew a whole lot about the half-kryptonian. Kind of difficult not to when this hybrid was tied with two major figures, names like Lex Luthor and Superman attract a lot of attention and with Tim having ears and eyes on the net, it wasn't hard to dig out info. Connor 'Kon el' Kent was a very funny kind of guy, well as funny as it can get when whizzing poor frightened Tim a few hundred feet up in the air where he'd never been so high up before.
He didn't expect to end up being saved by the budding teen hero, then again, he didn't expect to be caught in some strange hostage situation by some amateur criminals who'd realized they hadn't thought their heist too well through. He had his drones ready to cause chaos on the idiots before Superboy came crashing in and causing said chaos. He did the job though. Not before they'd dragged Tim, because rich men's kids are always prime targets and one of the not so dumb criminals had done his homework. The whole thing came down to them getting pummeled by Superboy and his friends faster than they could say 'I have a gun'. Out of desperation and panic but mostly panic, the guy holding Tim had him thrown right off the building. Which wasn't fair really, he hadn't built drones big enough to help with falling situations. He'd shut his eyes when he felt himself fall into something solid but warm and somewhat soft and comforting.
Yup, it was Superboy himself. Of course just to show off, he zoomed off higher into the sky with Tim with a stupid grin on his face. They flew around for a while mostly for the young hero's amusement before he finally set Tim down. Tim hadn't imagined how talkative the teen was.
Too many jokes, too awkwardly charming in his own way. Stupid muscle-head, Tim thought, stupid stupid Tim for getting all flustered in his arms.
He was willing to forget it except, Kon was not.
“So, uh, that was fun,” Kon said, Tim threw him a look, trying to control his mess of hair.
“I'm glad you enjoyed that, somehow,” he said sarcastically, “I'm pretty sure this happens everyday.”
“Flying all the time gets old after a while, but you kinda made it funny, guess you've never gone flying before?”
Tim shot him a toothy smile, “No one in their sane mind has ever gone flying.”
Kon laughed. It made Tim a bit embarrassed and quite annoyed, but the hero didn't seem to mean any sort of ill, his laughter was genuinely warm and full of enjoyment.
“Man, you're funny, smart kind of funny.”
“It's called wit.”
Kon grinned back at him when his friends, Wondergirl, Impulse and the rest of their team appeared. Wondergirl called to him, rather annoyed and dying to go back to their headquarters while Superboy held them back.
“Hey, what's your name?” he suddenly asked. Tim raised an eyebrow at the question. Why would a hero ask some civilian for their name he'd never see again.
“Tim. Drake.”
“Oh cool. So that big house on the hill-”
“Mansion.”
“-Uh yeah, that's yours right, cool, mind if I stop by sometime?”
At this, Tim was very surprised and confused. His mind screaming at him, no no no, definitely not while some other part of him said, that's great, this is good. In his internal conflict, he somehow managed to say 'oh, okay'. Much too his logical brain's dismay.
“Awesome, I'll see you soon.”
And with that, Kon was gone, up in the air and off with his team. As Tim contemplated his situation, he imagined somewhere in his mind, that a part of him would have loved to be part of that, to be one of the heroes and fighting alongside them as a team. He'd have made a name for himself, helping in exciting missions doing things he'd always dreamed of and making friends with the people he'd once looked up to. But that was all in the past now, he'd given it up for his life now. Soon, he was sure, Superboy would tire of his boring nature.
He came, time and time again, hanging out like a pair of normal kids, sometimes, he'd bring the others along. Cassie, Tim had observed, held deep feelings for her reckless team mate. He avoided talking too much about him with her, but otherwise they were actually a great bunch. Impulse, Bart, was restless, a side-effect of his abilities, same as the flash. Raven was reserved but caring. Beast boy, secretly crushing on Raven, was just as, if not more so than Kon, full of jokes. They each and all had their wonderful sides. Tim felt so awful in their presence, no doubt, oblivious to what he did in the shadows.
They were seeing too much of him. He was negative, brooding and sarcastic but that never seemed to deter them. Especially Raven, seemed to see right through him, while the rest must have been immune to negativity because he continued to have strange guests over. Not that his parents would care, they were gone so long and so often.
Birthdays, holidays and Christmas' were no longer a one man ting for him, disturbingly, he couldn't bring himself to dislike it. Soon, like an idiot, he revealed his skills, helped them in secret with their battles, before the cat got out of the bag. The Titans came to rely on his 'MAD WIZ SKILLZ' as Beast boy put it, and soon, it was like he was part of their little team. He tried to push them away, but they persisted, for some reason drawn to him as he found himself drawn to them. Like a moth to a flame, especially to Kon. The half-kryptonian held some strange admiration for Tim and it was began to show as the worked together more and more. The light touches and strong embraces were starting to affect Tim the more time they spent together. This couldn't be happening. Tim realized to his horror, the relationship was deepening beyond his control. No mister, no thank you, this hero business is supposed to be temporary. Tim was drinking double the amount of coffee, more than what is considered healthy or sane with the stress his predicament was causing.
“Hey, where are your parents? I never see them around,” Kon asked one dreaded day. Tim considered the answer for a while before giving it.
“They don’t come home often. Mom and Dad are both busy, you know, with their jobs. Archaeology, there’s a lot of travelling involved.”
“That’s pretty bad, I mean, what about Christmas or your birthdays? Not even for them?”
Tim shook his head, “Not even for them.”
He should be bitter, if it was somebody else, some other child and their mom or dad forgot, they’d be throwing tantrums. But it’s always been this way, so many times even Tim’s forgotten. If it weren’t for some nagging reminders from the various maids and housekeepers they hired, he’d have forgotten about Christmas, Halloween and so on. Sometimes, even they didn’t remind him, so he went on, living each and every day the same way. Routine. He could live with that, it’s what he’s used to.
Uncharacteristically, Kon gave him the look of a dog put out, and when Tim asked, he only responded by throwing his arms around Tim and giving him the tightest hug anyone had given him for a long time.
“It’s okay, I’ll make sure we celebrate them all with you.”
‘We’ being Kon and the Titans, as it turned out from then onwards. Tim didn’t mind.
Most of the time, he didn’t care, didn’t react. A smile is natural, and can mean a million different things, it’s okay, everything is fine, I don’t really mind, whatever, politely go away, I guess this is nice. But those were his good days. On his bad days, Tim locked himself in. Tried to smother himself in his bedsheets. Curse them as well, they were as close to a hug as he’d get alone. Some twisted part of him wanted a knife, a bullet in his chest. Pain anywhere but inside of him, clawing its way out. He wanted out. Sometimes even the unsightly work he did, couldn’t chase the feeling of neglect away and those days, he’d remember the exact moment ha gave up. Yes, heroes are for idealists, and a kid, a weak one like him would never fit in.
Those bad days, sometimes Kon would find him, curled up trying to hack his lungs out. Sometimes sobbing, sometimes screaming. What a broken thing. No good.
But he’d feel the warm touch, the soothing strength gently lifting him and holding him until he stopped shaking. He was so cold compared to Kon. What did the young hero ever see in him? He could only see his broken, jagged edges, designed to cut himself and others. Still, Kon never left and the warmth as well as the odd feeling that progressed beyond fondness spread through him, stepping into dangerous territory.
Something happened, and it was all wrong. Quite frankly, it was putting everyone on edge. Damian did well to locate the drop point the thugs were supposed to be waiting. A whole cargo of arms and heavy weapons for Black Mask. Batman wasn’t surprised, Jason, Red Hood now, had dealings with the criminal spearhead, and they were many. But something was wrong, there were no men, no orders being yelled in fact, it was far too quiet for an operation like this.
The shipment should be in the warehouse.
Batman pressed the device close to his ear, absolutely no communication was coming from inside. If the leader was on the phone, it would have been picked up on the frequency catcher. Could the gang have picked up on their presence? If so, there would definitely be more shouting but it was silent.
“Nightwing, Robin, take the back, Hood, make sure no one is leaving the perimeter, no bullets, you hear?”
There was a groan on the comms before Jason answered, “Sure, Bats, whatever you say.”
“I’m going in.”
“Be careful in there, I have a bad feeling about this,” came Dick’s voice, uncertain and betraying the note of fear.
Bruce didn’t answer as he slinked inside through the roof. Not a single light, not a single sound. But  as he sneaked further down, closer to the floor, the smell hits him, and hits him hard. Blood, the pungent and overwhelming stench of blood and piss. He hesitates as his hand hovers over the flashlight before turning it on. What greets him is a scene that is familiar on the worst of nights, the stuff of nightmares, enough to make a man lose his lunch if Bruce didn’t discipline himself. It’s not only bloody, it’s a gory mess. The men, or what’s left of them in torn bits and legs, tossed about like broken toys.
“Dear god,” he whispered.
“Batman? What’s going on?” Nightwing called through the comms.
A blade sharp and resilient enough to slice through bone like butter as evidenced by one poor man’s head, halved like a gourd. Batman moved forward, guts squelching beneath his boots.
Eyes, hearts, tongues, gouged out, cut and torn, some were thrown against the walls, the crates were splattered with innards while, as Bruce investigated, some were clearly missing. The cargo untouched was left in the vehicles, the doors still ajar. They must have been busy unloading when this all went downhill.
Bruce’s eyes traced the floor. Not enough footprints, there should be many footprints in the blood, it couldn’t be done by just one person. No, not unless they were up against a new monster.
“They’re all dead, everybody stay alert out there.”
Batman looked up at the lights. All of them were busted, smashed, whoever or whatever this...thing was, they operated in darkness. Mask’s men don’t. But for a brief moment they must have seen the attacker, the flashlight that rolled at his feet now busted and shattered as well was evidence. He looked back down and met the gaze of a man in mid scream. One among many screaming faces right before they died, this wasn’t about seeing their enemy, something scared them witless before it ripped them apart.
If it was anybody else, they wouldn’t have noticed the three pairs of feet hitting the floor, silent as can be, the boys had trained well but not enough to escape Bruce’s notice.
“Oh my GOD!” Nightwing exclaimed the moment he turned his flashlight on.
“I...haven’t seen this kinda mess since the last slasher movie,” Jason said, his voice managing to not give way to his shock.
Robin on the other hand, had just lost his dinner. He’s used a sword on a living person before but it was all clean cuts and honourable deaths for him, not this horrific mess. Bruce regarded the boy with worry. Maybe he shouldn’t have let him come into the warehouse, and now he’s essentially contaminated a part of the crime scene. He’ll have to take care of that later. Nightwing busily patted and rubbed Damian’s back while the boy was recovering, while Hood and Batman began to search around for clues. Video footage if any was needed, with all the gore littering the floor and the shipment having been left alone, there was little to gleam from the scene.
“Looks like whoever did this wasn’t interested in guns,” Hood said casually.
They tried looking for any hidden cameras on the bodies though, nothing. There was a phone still in one man’s hand, slumped by a heavy crate. It looked like he was in the middle of trying to call someone. There was one other thing that might give away what happened in the warehouse. Bruce crossed his metaphorical fingers. He went straight for the operations room, the office where one would keep an eye on all the comings and goings in the office. There was paper and files left carelessly on the shelves and the screens lining the desks were off. He played the footage that was there but after the ten mark, the device was turned off abruptly. He grunted in disappointment, he knew there was a chance the cameras were deactivated to prevent their movements from being recorded, but he’d hoped they weren’t smart enough. As of now, they had a bigger mystery on their hands than Black Mask’s secret smuggling operations and more than likely, once Mask hears about this, he’s going to be pissed. Nothing else here, anything more and the police won’t be happy with the amount of tampering going on. Batman regrouped with the others, outside the warehouse. The street lamp, the only one that wasn’t shot served to highlight all four vigilantes. Nightwing was nervous and so was Robin, Hood’s face was hidden underneath the helmet but his body was tense. For once, the night was not kind, the silence was deafening and oppressive, it reminded him that there were other things, other kinds of fear waiting underneath her.
“Wait, what’s that?” Robin said, pointing into the distance.
All eyes turned to look and for a moment, they could see nothing but the water, the moon reflecting over it. Then movement just at the surface drew their attention, a small shape broke through the surface. Barely visible in the darkness, it stayed floating, almost motionless. Then rose higher, a face still indistinguishable but indeed a face, blue eyes shining brightly and it was staring right at them. Something about those eyes was familiar and yet alien to them and, as Nightwing and Hood began to tremble, it unsettled them all. The moon seemed to shift as the light fell on it gradually. Midnight black hair, blue eyes and a straight nose, young and mature, a young man with knowing blue eyes that once held a child’s admiring light. He dove under the water just as Bruce felt himself reach out for the phantom. Vanishing beneath the ripples. Only now noticing the blood trailing on the ground.

How many kids does superman have? I know there's Kon and Jon but didn't he have another kids called Chris and didn't he adopt Billy Batson at some point?
oh lordy well I just made up adopting Billy or well someone did and I wrote stories about the idea
but for in comics kids, lets start at the start
Tumblr media
there’s Superman’s sliver age cousin the 14 year old Supergirl, but idk if she’s his “kid” since he dumped her in a orphanage the minute she landed on earth, yeah he put her in an orphanage thus being years of “Superman is a bad dad”
however on another earth a different (better human) Superman raised a different Kara
Tumblr media
that’s Power Girl, moving on there’s Kon el
Tumblr media
but carrying on “Superman is a bad dad” Clark basically ignored Kon unless he was yelling at him for the first 10 years of publication, just leaving his 16 year old clone out the world to take care of himself. When DC soft rebooted the character in 2005 Connor as he became known moved in with Ma and Pa Kent
now here’s were it gets tricky
Tumblr media
There’s Cir-el who claimed to he Clark and Lois’ daughter from the future, Clark stayed in “bad dad” mode and rejected this, and maybe she wasn’t their daughter idk
Tumblr media
there’s Chris Kent the first time Superman broke “bad dad” Chris was a little boy who showed up in a rocket that looked a lot like Clark’s and Clark and Lois adopted him, it turned out he was General Zod’s kid biologically, and he got lost in the Phanton Zone protecting his adoptive parents came back all aged up got lost again it was a whole thing
Tumblr media
Then there’s Jon Lane Kent, Clark and Lois’ son from the future who went evil, the New52′s Superboy was a clone of this Jon, and a younger version of this Jon ended up replacing the clone as Superboy for a period of time before an epic battle with the adult version
Tumblr media
finally there’s Jon Samuel Kent who is the 10 year old son of Clark and Lois and the Superboy right now

Hi you, something I don't get in your post don't most people argue if Jack has influence Cas, not if he evil? The minority believes Jack will be an evil figure in the end, but argue that rn hes doing wrong by effecting Cas and just like the parallels to Amara, (Connor ? dont watch this) these storyline usually /start/ with these characters doing something like controlling ppl so going by usual tropes thats how this story usually goes. How could Jack bring Cas closer to S/D rn he seperates them
Hi Nonny,
Thanks for the ask.  I’m going to surmise your points/questions as a prompt to myself because this ask hit a whole bunch of inter-sectional discussions
Jack influencing Cas does not make him evil, but he is doing wrong right now
Very true re. influencing Cas in what could be viewed as a negative way does not make him evil.  It would of course make him a being that wants to survive, which does not make them bad.
And here’s where we get into the intersectional debates and opinions.  I don’t believe Jack has brainwashed Castiel.  Influenced?  Maybe?  Sam telling Cas ‘you can’t do this’ is also influencing him no?  But not quite brainwashing and also super ineffective.  Below are some of the reasons why I don’t think Cas is brainwashed but it is not the single pillar that my points or opinions rest on.
All roads lead to Rome here and I accept people who believe he’s brainwashed have a point, they have an argument.  But it does not ring true to me:
Tumblr media
Arguments against it being his choice
1.  Dean would not accept that this was his Castiel.
Dean has repeatedly rejected the possibly of Castiel’s agency wherein it is a move from him (Dean).  See ‘Superman gone darkside’ and creating a literal false memory about purgatory, to reject Castiel’s decision.  To reject any reality wherein Cas would choose not to be with him.
He is not a reliable source.  That’s actually a running joke within the fandom, one of my favourite fanarts is punk Casifer flipping Dean off and Dean waving all ‘ohh Cas is going through his punk phase’.  For more on Dean is an unreliable source with people he loves please see @amwritingmeta it’s not that he can’t see things when the are wrong.  It’s just a rejection of reality.   He is sooo stressed.  Boy needs to go to a spa
2.  Castiel’s utopia speech to Kelly.
Castiel hesitated during that speech and told a bunch of cliches.  He thought of what a human might want, no hunger, no pain, no fear.  He told her it would all go away.  He was comforting a dying woman.  Not telling us what he saw.  This is not a suggestion of blind faith.
Tumblr media
3.  ‘Castiel would never boop the Winchesters’.  Yes he would.  Castiel has repeatedly worked on his own and created distance between himself and the Winchesters when he thought it was needed.  He didn’t harm them.  He merely tried to get away.
4.  The grace colour issue.  This could be due to lighting (we have seen this before) or residual grace.  It does not mean that Cas isn’t driving.
Please also see @tinkdw‘s post on Castiel’s agency here
Moreover the reason why I brought Connor, Dawn and Chris into this is because there were also ‘this kid is brainwashing our main cast’ arguments in the fandom and meta of it’s time.  Some characters also believed it at first.  All of which were proven to be incorrect.  Setting up the newbie as more powerful or with more motive than actually exists is a trope.
I believe Castiel has his full agency, I believe he did a complete 180 based on what he saw or felt and I don’t believe that it was paradise.  He would be far from the first character to make this kind of swing in the face of new evidence or emotion
Back to your point
And uh under the cut because this will go on and people have dashes to worry about
Let’s say Jack is influencing Castiel beyond a simple ‘Hey Cas, borrow my power, hey Cas.  Please don’t kill me’.
Then the question becomes whether or not that influence is positive or negative.
Positive - Jack really could see the future and wanted to control Cas in order to make that happen
Negative - Jack wanted to control Cas and was willing to lie to do so
If the influence is positive then Jack has done what to him, must be done.  Making him as you say not a bad character
If it’s negative than at best it’s a ruse to live, at worst it’s controlling and abusive
So I guess the question here falls into two sections.
a.  How badly is Cas being controlled if at all
b.  If Cas is being controlled is that a negative thing for Jack to do in context
Given the symbolism behind Jack and his choices (not purely out of self interest) it is highly doubtful that even now he is bad.  He is a blank slate, and I don’t think blank slate’s control people.  They certainly never did in the three examples  I have stated (exception Chris, but this was not brainwashing like at one stage was speculated, so I continue to include him in the three).
But you point to Amara, quite correctly.  Though I’m not sure one instance counts as a trope.  A mirror, definitely.   The difference of course (to me) is that Amara was a pre-existing being with her own motivations and background.  I would point you towards @postmodernmulticoloredcloak as I believe they have some great meta based on Jack’s actions so far.
There’s actually a lot of great meta out there on Jack on his intentions but I think I’ve covered the bases here and why it’s intersectional.  If you would like to discuss any particular point more please let me know.
In summary your question is from the point of Jack influencing Cas in a way that takes away Castiel’s agency.  I have stated why I don’t think this is the case and offered up some thoughts on why this is the case.
Now…
All Roads Lead to Rome - Why Jack will bring Castiel closer to the Winchesters and help the others move forward
It’s not so much that Jack will cause this in any deliberate way, as I say Jack is the catalyst not the magic bullet.  But who he in the very way he’s been set up tells us who he is going to be.  Outside (the young un’s nearly always have this effect in television).
Please see
@margarittet
for excellent meta on the scenery of Jack’s birth, the tree of life, the sunrise (hi God and Cas)
But I digress, you don’t think Jack will be bad so this can establish an immediate theme of goodness for Jack or in the future
By saving Jack all of Team Free Will save and accept themselves, which allows them to move forward in their own relationships
If Team Free Will had a comprised of their separate parts baby it would be Jack
, this is a big big point and honestly I could go on for ages soooo:Jack = Cas Angel/human, not belonging in either world or truly connecting.  Identity issues, rejectionJack = Sam   The cursed child, ‘predestined to harm humanity’ associations with Lucifer.  Issues regarding being ‘unclean’ Jack = Dean  Jack’s name literally brings into focus ‘the everyman’.  Which is what Dean is, in other words.  The person from whom which we view events and moral decisions.  He also carries tremendous responsibility and the shadow of his father. How does this help Team Free Will?  By teaching them.  By accepting Jack and teaching him they learn in the process and release their own crippling issues:
Cas - isolation, bridging the gap between worlds.  You can choose.  You do have a home.  Free will.  Choosing to make yourself happy, not just to serve.  Cas has been making his choices based on service alone.  (Beginning to show in late S12 IF you believe Castiel was not unduly influenced)
Sam - judgement and predetermined circumstance.  What happened was not your fault.  You can overcome, you do overcome.  You can take back your power (we see this showing already in late S12), but he still needs more shoving
Dean - burdens, performance, the shadow of your father.  Dean takes on every burden as his own, even when he is told to keep his nose out.  You can let go, you can trust others.  It’s okay if things go wrong. You don’t have to perform for people.  It’s okay to just be you.  You are not your father.  Once again beginning to show in late S12.
Once these walls break down by teaching Jack not to repeat their mistakes (whether directly addresses their flaws or mistakes or merely advising).  All three boys take some of their power back, live more authentically and figure out what they want.
Which for Cas is to be with the Winchesters.  But that’s a whole other discussion.

One thing that kept picking at my brain was how mature and self-sufficient Billy Batson in certain versions, living on the streets but having a job and providing for himself and he's just so good and pure hearted but tough and kind despite everything thst's happened to him.
And I was just thinking like, if the Young Justice Captain Marvel was more along the lines of those iterations (not that I don't love his character there anyway) and he's got a little apartment, that he works with a little magic to make properly liveable and its something like a bachelor's pad.
And he adopts Connor when Superman rejects him, because Billy knows what it's like to be unwanted and he didn't want this new kid to feel that way while Superman worked through his issues.
And at first he was only letting his stay for just a few days, but they both get attached and Captain Marvel, with the memories of his past lives and the Wisdom of Solomon gets parental and Billy listens and is sympathetic and it turns into this whkle thing where 10 year old Billy is Connor's dad and somehow it works.

The theory of never growing up
by ofallthelittledemons
"Okay, so maybe we're not the Teen Titans—"Chris grins broad and genuine,"—but we are just as cool!"
"So...if we aren't the Teen Titans..." Kyle pokes at the grass, "Then just what exactly are we?"
There is an awkward silence and Chris silently wishes for Jason to return with those cookies soon.
"Hey, I got it! We can call ourselves the Teen Titan Rejects!" Connor laughs and with a smirk adds, "Just imagine their faces when they hear about that!"
"We're just going to reject that idea," Jason mutters stepping out into the backyard balancing a plate of milk and cookies.
"But we'll keep it in mind, Con!" Chris adds in a beat.
Jason resists the urge to roll his eyes,"Oh yeah, we'll definitely be keeping that as back up."
Or an AU where Jason forms a friendship with three superhero proteges that are definitely not part of the Teen Titans.

I don’t blame people for seeing Bruce/Batman as a bad parent, more just sad that that’s how DC has chosen to write him and portray him most of the time and seems to have it out for the batfamilly. I got just as mad when they started writing Superman as an awful parental figure towards connor.
Like why tf would an orphan who had his parents ripped from him in an extrememly traumatic way and lost all of his childhood and innocence want to take that from other kids? Why the hell would anyone let him if he did? MULTIPLE times for that matter.
Why the f U CK would Clark Fucking Kent immediately reject someone related to him who is looking for guidance and act cold and aggressive at even the idea of it?
Fucking old ass writers that think for a man to be a hero he has to be cold and hide his feelings and distance themselves from their kids so they can remain “stoic” - but use the whole “love” stuff when they need an excuse to torture the main guy even further because god forbid he learn to be open and become a better more emotionally mature person right?

Can I please express how much I think it would mean to Connor for his bf to stand up for him when Superman first thought of him as only a clone? Like early Young Justice when Superman first didn't want anything to do with Connor, but his bf was having none of that shit and explained to Clark that even if he didn't want this to happen, Connor is like a son to Clark, and all he wants is to be recognized and appreciated because he didn't ask for this either. But his bf was damn well happy to have Connor in his life, so Clark should get used to the idea and be happy too. Besides, that's just another Kryptonian to add to the family!
Do you mean Connor's bf or Clark's bf?
Because I love the idea of Clark's bf sending him to his mother to give him a stern talkin' to, and making him see that nobody's really asking Clark to be Connor's dad, just to help him train.
Because while I do agree that Clark's treatment of Connor is atrocious, let's consider that Clark does totally have the right not to want Connor in his life - he was created using Clark's genetic material without his consent, and in a way it parallels what happened with Bruce and Talia to create Damian. I actually really love how they work it out with Young Justice, where Clark comes to view Connor as a younger brother, almost.
But basically Clark's boyfriend helping him to see that Connor is not the one at fault here and desperately needs guidance and acceptance, not rejection and disdain. However also Clark's boyfriend telling off the League for trying to force that connection when Clark is clearly uncomfortable meeting his clone.
