Talking Him Down
Whenever Damian thought of his twin brother, he thought of his kindness. His fascination with the stars, his willingness to take the fall for Damian whenever sick or hurt animals were found in the compound. His aversion to killing or torture, which thought of as a weakness in the league, Damian had secretly admired. He thought of Danny talking him down from mistakes he knew Damian would regret.
He never thought the positions would be reversed.
Yet there his somehow alive brother was there, standing over an already bloody Vladimir Masters with rage-filled cold eyes and a knife in hand.
“You should leave, Dami. Before things get too messy.”

Part two of the "Clone Danny" au
The link to the first part is put above!
His friends know that he's phantom, they help him out just the same as before. Due to not having any ghost powers, Danny has to rely on tech and outsmarting the ghosts a lot more than before. He can't keep stealing tech from his parents' lab either, and he can't ask them to fix it if his stuff breaks. He teaches himself how to fix it.
(Its a lot of sleepless nights stealing his parents' blueprints and trying to study them. And a lot of late night research and talking with Tucker on how to build and understand tech. He refuses to rely on Tucker for his gear)
He talks to Sam about fashioning a persona as both Phantom and as Fenton. She's been to a lot of rich parties, she's seen celebrities and how they act. A "careless party boy" won't work for Danny. He's no A-Lister. But coward, feeble Fenton works just fine. Minus his smartass comments, which he can slowly start phasing out of his "civilian" life under the guise of there being ghosts.
He draws into himself, keeps his head down in class, wears baggy clothing. Ghost fighting at night really does a lot of the work for him, since he's so tired in class that he doesn't bother putting his hand up or participating. He can play the part of "loner, loser Fenton" pretty well, and ups the ante.
Phantom already has a small fanbase amongst the A-listers for being the strong, silent confident vigilante-hunter protecting them from the ghosts. Nothing much changes there other than a few minor things. Anyone who knows ASL knows he's a major fucking smart-ass who keeps cracking jokes and puns at the ghosts.
Danny learns self-defense after getting his ass beat too many times (he also gets Really Good at gym because he runs a LOT after ghosts. He eventually learns to make trackers to stick onto them when they fly away) and even gets a few ghosts to help him after he befriends them while they're exploring Amity at night. Its nothing professional and he still gets hurt a lot, but he knows how to throw a better punch than before. And he knows how to dodge better.
Since he's going for a "get them tfo of here before my parents get here" approach, danny takes a more of a "talk first, fight later" route. this... kinda works. mainly for the non-hostile ghosts. its how he manages to get some of them to help him with fighting.
Danny's honestly really, really clever. He largely relies on his wits since he doesn't have any powers to force ghosts back into the ghost zone.
TUE still happens it just occurs a little differently. Vlad Masters still wants Danny to be his son and Maddie his wife, etc. But he also wants to turn Danny into a Halfa like himself, since he knows that Danny has mild ghost abilities, he thinks he has the capacity to turn into a halfa.
Dan happens when Vlad manipulates a grieving danny into agreeing to become a halfa like himself. Except it kills Danny fully, and in his rage, Danny, now dead and a ghost, rips out Vlad's ghost half and merges with it and creates Dan. So not too different from canon.
….actually i change my mind. Danny’s ghost doesn’t merge with Vlad. Danny’s ghost tears Plasmius apart for lying to him. Dan is entirely Danny, just big and hurting and wanting to hurt others because of it. His emotions are big so Dan is big.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 4.5 (Dani interlude) Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 7.5 (Dan Interlude) Part 8

DPXDC soulmate prompt au:
Everyone has a soulmate. Even if the way you meet your soulmate is different, you can still feel a click in place. Even with different species, romantically or platonically, and multiple soulmates. ( like one person has by sight, and their soulmate is by touch. Basically, you can have soulmates with the same markings or two different types and still work)
So, Danny, after becoming Phantom and dealing with the ghosts, finally finds a way to shut down the Portal around his last year of high school, and multiple people aren't happy about that, i.e. his parents, the ghosts, Sam, the GIW, and even Vlad as he was banking on the fentons for his shit to work, and he had plans surrounding Danny's family.
He gets run out of town by Amity and his parents after they uncover his secret. Danny then spends the next few years in space, discovering aliens.
(During his disappearance, the GIW are disbanded, Vlad doesn't have access to the zone anymore and asking for him to search in space is a permadeath sentence for him, his parents regret their Gung ho attitude and miss him. In a twist of faith, an accident kills them off, and they are working through their regrets in the zone, waiting to see Danny so they can pass)
Now, as I mentioned at the top, this is a soulmate au, so in Death, Danny is able to get a feel for soulmate, like if his soulmate had a marking for him to recognize even if his soulmate identifier is lock on sight. (He essentially has an advantage of figuring out his significant other as he has his soulmate symbol on him.)
So, whose Danny significant other? Look no further than Gotham depressed himbo dad, Bruce Wayne, whose soulmate identifier is a tattoo of Danny's mark.
This could be pretty early on in his hero career or after Duke is a part of the Bats, but basically, Bruce goes on a space mission with the league and in one of their stints to get info, Danny immediately recognizes Batman's mark which was his soulmate clue. So, Danny, who hasn't spoken human or been on earth in years, has zero in on him,but they don't get to talk before Bruce heads back to earth, but Bruce knows there is something off about the possible alien man.
On Bruce's side, he hasn't seen anyone that has made it work, except if if you want to make it a polycule with Superman. (Dick has his redhead squad or the titans, Jason ends up with Roy or someone else, Tim has Bernard and Kon, and Damian is starting to platonically be friends with Jon. Cass has found her soulmate in Stephanie.
(The Joker is a weird case where he has a soulmate that isn't born yet or died already, or he has no one and that why he is crazy and scars the Bat symbol on him as he sees his enemy with no soulmate either.)
Anyway, something big happens on earth, like an invasion, and the Bat is almost killed before a bright light descends upon the sky and removes the threat. Batman, once recovering his sight, sees the same masked alien man from before. Once they regroup, the masked man removes his helmet, and Bruce finally gets his soulmate connection. Danny has aged significantly since his first departure of earth and attempting to relearn earth's customs and figure out what happened with his family and friends.
( Jazz is soulmates with Talia and is in a secret relationship with her after Damian is made.
Sam is soulmates with Paulina but despises this, which causes her some mental instability, and refuses to acknowledge their bond, somehow still banking on Danny being her knight, and rebrands herself as Pamela Isley or Poison Ivy and finds love in Harley.
Tucker actually renames himself after Amity as Silas Stone and has a child. He works with Alien Tech to see if he can find his best friend again.
Dani is only made after Danny's return to earth but loves her indefinitely as he feels that the Portal had robbed him of a good life with offspring.
And Dan is working on his aggression in the zone.)

Dp x Shazam/Dc prompt
Danny is now ghost king after the reborn 7 deadly sins caused the world to be
A) destroyed, causing Danny to universe hop
B) scarred, only amity is destroyed/forgotten. where Danny went to live in the Infinite Realms only to come back years/decades/centuries later to enjoy the living realm again
The sins are back, and Danny feels obligated to keep what happened last time from happening again. At least he has the Champion of Magic to assist this time.
Disclaimer: I know that the Shazam comics have the sins as a regular rogue, but not what they do or how they are portrayed. Just woke up from a weird dream, and this prompt hit me like a truck.
For those who want to use my sleep addled thoughts on the Sins Danny faced for maximum angst, here you go:
Let me know your thoughts on who would be who, Dp or Shazam/DC world.
Maddie Fenton - Pride
Pretty self-explanatory, Maddie was always proud of what she did, even when it obviously was detrimental to others.
Jack Fenton - Sloth / Pride
Jack could be either, another half of Maddie or as Sloth. Sloth in the way all of the inventions either never worked or never worked right. He never took the time to make anything correctly or safely. By taking shortcuts or planning just enough to make it functional (and most of the time, not even that) makes me feel Sloth would work for him.
Vlad - Envy
This one is also pretty self-explanatory, he envies the Fentons for having what he does not. We have all seen the extremes he wnt to for that. *side eyes Dan and Dani*
Sam - Greed
Sam wants to be needed, noticed, and validated. She got Danny killed for a picture and did it again when she wished for her not to know them and realised she was a 'nobody' without Danny. For all she is against corporate greed, greed does not always mean monetary wealth. She is greedy for any attention and has gone to extreme lengths to gain it.
Jazz - Gluttony
Jazz, much like Sam, wants validation and attention, but her way is more wanting to feast on family ties. She craves for any attention she can garner from her parents and Danny. I feel the saying "A glutton for punishment" fits Jazz a little too well for her to not be an aspect of gluttony. Gluttony does not always mean food.
Dani - Lust
LUST DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN SEX.
Now that the PSA is out of the way, Dani is defined by the word Wonderlust. She lusts after the life she never got to live, and is willing to leave the people who helped her to chase that dream.
Dan - Wrath
I feel this one is also pretty self-explanatory. Dan destroyed the entire planet in his rage. If that isn't the textbook definition, then I will eat my hat.
Now, I know I left Tucker and Valerie out of the list, but if I had to replace or choose a sin for each:
Tucker - Sloth / Pride
Tucker does good and is helpful, but he is rarely the one spearheading anything. He usually has to have either Danny or Sam push him into action, and even then, it is met with grumbled annoyance. I feel like Jack is a better Sloth.
Tucker has his vision of himself and isn't afraid to show it, even if it makes others uncomfortable. A lot of times where Tucker instigates a problem, it's because he is overconfident in his vision, and being a reincarnation did not help with that. Yet, again this feels a little weak compared to Maddie, but I don't feel like Tucker would represent any other sins to detrimental levels.
Valerie - Pride / Wrath
Valerie, before and after she became the Red Huntress, had always been prideful. To the point where after she fell off the A-lister pedestal, she hunted down the one responsible with extreme prejudice. She would kill for that back and went to the extreme to do so. As with Tucker, I don't feel like Valerie truly fits like the others above.

(Yes it is real and it is Very Cool)
Thinking about those AU's where there is something Other and Wrong about Danny Fenton
And just. People interacting with him who Know something is Off but they don't know what but they're trying to pretend everything is Okay because they don't want to be rude
People tip toeing around Danny because he is Creepy
Bonus point is Danny just doesn't notice anything. He's too tired to notice that people are acting strange ~~how is the way theyre acting any different from how people have always acted around him?~~
But like, less angst and more undead comedy. Something that *could* have been angst but framing makes it funny rather than sad
Addams-family-like Maddy and Jack Fenton where they aren't Bad Parents it's just that what they think is a good parent is Absolutely Not what everyone else thinks is a good parent. *convo between fenton parent and their kids when they were toddlers* 'Oh honey why are you carrying that little knife?' 'I want to kill the monster under my bed' 'why are you using that then? Here take this one' *hands them the fenton bazooka*
Something Off and Different about Jazz too - and Sam and Tucker. Less so with the latter two.
Dani is the most normal of the lot. The Fentons adopt her and absolutely no one questions it because thank god there is finally someone Normal in that family (once she gets enough ectoplasm to properly stabilise she becomes Less Normal but she is normal when they meet her and it happens slowly so they don't notice as both she and the rest of the town slowly and slowly become weirder)
OH! What about Amity Park, at some point, merges with a replica of it in the Ghost Zone? Amity Park IS Phantom's lair and thus it is the Lair of the Ghost King - it exists in both the living realm and the infinite realms. Someone who has lived in Amity Park for long enough can go into either the human world or ghost zone by leaving the towns borders - they end up in whichever realm they are trying to go to. A ghost can only go into the infinite realms (if they want to go to the human realm that isnt just amity park they MUST go through the fentons or vlads portal) and a non-amity park human can just go to and from the human world in amity park - again, they specifically need to go through the portals to switch between realms.
Animals associated with death can also use amity park itself to traverse the realms - this does not follow any logic beyond that of human myths and legends. Animals not associated with death are bound by the same rules as humans.
I have never even thought of 'Fenton's are the Adam's Family of Amity Park' but I need like 10000 fics of it now I love it sm.

Dp Headcanon - Halfas
Halfas are created when a living entity has so much ectoplasm inside of their body when they die that the ectoplasm revives them instead of turning them into a ghost leaving them somewhere between life and death. When they form naturally. This takes much, much more ectoplasm than it takes to make someone liminal in life or a ghost in death. The most common method of creation of a halfa is when a portal is opened directly on and living entity. This level of instant exposure always creates a halfa and is also incredibly rare. Depending on how close the living entity was to the portal and how much of the body was directly exposed. However, as technology evolves other ways to make halfas are discover.
Halfas have only one true obsessions, which is related to whatever they wanted when they were truly alive and is unique to them live every single ghost. However, halfas since they are stretched between life and death all have a shared urge. And urge to protect the line between life and death and keep the peace between ghosts and living entities. How each halfa chooses to do this is different, and if they truly wish too they could ignore the urge but it is uncomfortably and sometimes even painful. All Ghost Kings can rule however they please over the infinity realms, but they have no say over the mortal realm/s. That is for halfas to take care of. Pariah Dark could not accept that so he slaughtered all of the existing halfas before into his reign of terror that ended with him in a permanent slumber
Halfas are able to teleport anywhere in the mortal realms and infinity realms in order to provide aid the instant it is needed, but they cannot teleport living entities or ghosts with them. Ghosts gain more powers from being around the living, mostly from their negative emotions. So halfa tend to be able to grow much more powerful much more quickly through a sort of feeding off of their living half.
Halfas are often also called balance, doorway, or guardian spirits due to their functions.
Danny and Vlad are perfect examples of the halfas of old. They got their powers through a portal and mega exposure either in one go or in several year. Dani/Ellie is an example of what a halfa could be due to technology she is a halfa in all physical ways. But she is a not a halfa in a more mental/emotional way. The point of halfas is to be a bridge between the living and the dead and the understand both by being both. By having died halfas have lost parts of themselves but not anywhere near as much as true ghosts have. Dani can’t due this because she has never actually been fully alive.
I like to think that Jazz could also become a halfa eventually. She has been exposed to large amounts of ectoplasm since her conception since the Fenton parents aren’t the most careful. It makes since that one way or another all of the ectoplasm would trigger and craft her into a halfa. If she died she wouldn’t truly stay dead, or she would be exposed to so much that it would killed her and revive her on its own.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
You have heard all about the Fenton boy, Danny. The half-ghost kid who refused power and wealth for his family. The stubborn child who couldn’t see past Jack’s idiocy. And you had to wonder: Was Danny really in the wrong? This Jack Fenton guy was his father; why is Danny defending his father so bad? If anything, it should show what kind of person he is; good.
But your “father” didn’t see it that way.
Danny’s constant rejections had started to pile up. Your “father” was beginning to lose his patience. The continual reminder that Jack Fenton had a family with the woman of your “father’s” dreams had reached its boiling point.
Your “father” was desperate in his attempts for the perfect half-ghost son. Instead of using Danny’s DNA, your “father” opted to use his own. Round two turned into another string of failures. Even you were considered a failure. Not only were you a girl, but you couldn’t even maintain your ghost half for very long.
He wasn’t very happy with that.
You’d escaped, but the longer you stayed as a ghost, flying from Wisconsin to Amity Park, the weaker you became. You saw ectoplasm starting to drip from your form; your body was destabilizing before your very eyes.
But you had to go a little further. If you didn’t, he’d find you and you’d be done for. You didn’t want to die; but if you stayed in your ghost form for too long you’d become a pile of ectoplasm. If you stopped even for a second to recuperate you’d be captured, dissected and melted down into a pile of ectoplasm. Either way, you’d be dead.
So you kept pushing, even when your vision blurred. Even when your body began to burn and your head started pounding.
And then everything went black.
When you woke up, you were lying on a bed in a room you didn’t recognize. You felt your heart drop. As desperately as you wanted to believe this was a good thing, you couldn’t for the life of you believe it. Slowly sitting up, you wince at the splitting pain going through your head.
You jumped at the sound of the bedroom door opening. The sound practically had you falling out of bed. You peered over and saw a dark-haired boy come in. He seemed about your age, with blue eyes and a leaner build. He seemed surprised and relieved to see you awake.
“Good, you’re awake,” he remarked.
“Where am I?” you stammered.
“My room.” He walked over and sat at the foot of the bed. You moved away from him. “I found you passed out just outside the city limits.”
The longer you looked at him, the more something began to click in your mind. Familiarity. But how? Why was he so familiar? You’ve never met him before—or have you? You chewed on the inside of your cheek, brows furrowing as you regarded him more closely.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“I just—” Then it clicked. “You’re the ghost boy!”
He paled, eyes widening as he stood up from his bed, taking a step away as if you’d burnt him. “Who are you?” he asked shakily.
“I need your help,” you exclaimed, standing up. Your body ached, remnants of the pain you felt earlier. “Please—he’s going to kill me.”
“Who?” he asked, swallowing thickly. “Who’s going to kill you?”
“My father.” You felt a shiver run up your spine—mere thought of him making fear bubble in you. “He’s going to kill me. I didn’t turn out the way he wanted.”
His brows furrowed. You saw reluctance swirling his blue eyes, mixing with the curiosity and worry over your words.
“I’m half-ghost,” you stated. “He wanted a son but I—” You motioned to yourself. “He doesn’t want this.”
You see realization come across his face before it twists into anger.
“My father told me about you,” you added softly, “how he tried taking your morph DNA. There was another girl like me, but made from you. I’m made from him, but my ghost half is unstable. I’ll die if I stay in that form for too long.”
You see him eye you, looking for something—what it is you’re not sure. But you let him study you. You just hope whatever he finds is good, or at least lets him agree to help you.
After a long, almost drawn-out pause, he nods. “You’ll be safe here,” he states firmly. “Vlad won’t get you.”
You give him a soft smile and nod. You feel a warmth in your chest at the honesty of his words. But deep down you prepare yourself for the worst. Just as a precaution.

Prompt idea: Danny is Damian twin but he doesn't want to meet his biological family.
In this AU Jack and Maddie are really good parents. They know about phantom and are proud but more guilty about half killing Danny.
Let's say they were the day of the accident.
They spend a lot more time with their kids, only making things in their lab that could help phantom. Learn more about ghost lore. And adopt Dani if exist.
I don't know what Maddie and Jack will do when learn all about Vlads shit.
Anyway let's say Danny developed pstd about billionaires and pushy people because of Vlads.
For whatever reason Bruce learn about Danny and send a letter about meeting IRL. He didnt expect to get rejected.
You can start a plot about Bruce forcedly inserting in Danny life. Danny treating Bruce the same way as Vlads. I know they are nothing alike but Danny has his trauma about billionaires.
Of this is going to be so much worse for Danny if the entirety of the batfam get involved. That's a lot of people to be pestering/stalking you even without the ptsd.
I imagine the Fentons become super protective of thier youngest because if this. Things heat up when Bruce finds out about the portal and then Phantom because Danny doesn't wear a mask and isn't exactly subtle. This leads to an investigation that might lead to Jack and Maddie (and eventually the GIW) being arrested and facing serious charges.
Maybe Jazz adopts him? Maybe Danny flees into the GZ? Either way the batfam are surprised Danny wants nothing to do with them. They might starts claiming stalkholm syndrome or something since Danny isn't holding anything his parents have done against them. Either way they're trying to "recue thier baby brother" and ignore any attempts he makes to get them to leave him alone.
I love the angst potential

It is weird that Vlad isn’t a part Reality Trip. By all accounts, he should have been involved.
1. Maddie was in danger. If there was a list of reasons Danny and Vlad would team up regardless of the state of their rivalry, protecting Maddie from danger would be top of the list.
2. Danny’s identity is revealed. There are a few reasons why Vlad would be involved in this situation.
- Self-preservation. One of the big rules of their feud is mutually assured exposure. With Danny out, Vlad no longer has that and is going to want to address it.
- also self-preservation. Even if he’s confident that Danny isn’t going to snitch, one half-ghost getting outed to the world is still going to be a huge deal to the other half-ghosts running around. Either Vlad would seek Danny out himself or Dani would.
- Vlad wants Danny. He wants him to move in with him in Wisconsin and rely on him and love him. Danny is effectively homeless as he assumes that to seek out his parents is to seek out pain and Danny had already resolved to just wait for his parents to reach out to him while he’s on the run. I wouldn’t be shocked if Danny himself moved to Vlad’s if Danny hadn’t already decided to seek out the reality gems. Vlad would have jumped at this opportunity to woo Danny over to his side.
3. the reality gauntlet. Vlad is not going to like the reality gauntlet existing and him not owning it. He definitely isn’t going to like the Guys in White having it (self-preservation. they want to kill ghosts) or Freakshow (also self-preservation. he controls ghosts).
It is weird that Vlad had nothing to do with this weekend of chaos. I can only imagine that he was literally trapped under a rock for those few days because you can’t say that he just didn’t know. World-wide news broadcast and national man-hunt aside, Vlad stalks him. He has the house bugged. He has ghosts hired to report in. He has Valerie’s tech studying him. Vlad is obsessed with the Fentons and he needs Danny to accept him into his heart.
I’m aware that the writers just didn’t want to deal with him and that’s the most probable answer but that’s a stupid boring answer that I hate so we’re not talking about it. Even with that, though, a few second long bit showing Vlad holed up in a study cave for a few days would’ve been more than enough to not mention him for the rest of the season finale. Or literally trapped under a rock in the ghost zone. that could’ve been funny.

Danny Phantom Randomness (Desolation)
I just had an interesting thought. To give you a bit of context, in my fanfic “Nowhere To Run” I had Vlad and Danny confront a lot of their personal issues with one another, especially Vlad after he went too far with the cloning incident. Danny’s a tough kid but everyone has their limits as far as how much they’re willing to put up with.
Tumblr media
So here’s my thought, what if after the events of TUE Danny becomes extra paranoid of losing his friends and family? For example, when Vlad tries to make Jazz and Danny fight he straight up refuses to instead of putting on an act. This obviously confuses Vlad who has never seen Danny like that and Jazz for once is at a loss for what to do since Vlad injected her with nanobots and legit threatened to “waste her” if she betrayed him, meaning she probably HAS to fight Danny.
Danny seriously loses his cool and goes straight to attacking Vlad so violently to make him turn off the nanobots and ghost shield that for the first time he’s getting a small taste of exactly what Danny’s capable of once he stops holding back. This makes Vlad stop to think about what could have possibly made Danny react like that. Was this just his usual teen angst and raging hormones, or the result of one too many ghost fights giving Danny some serious emotional trauma?
Skipping forward to when Vlad infects Sam and Tucker with ecto-acne, Danny loses it again and doesn’t even try to play nice in front of his parents. He grabs Vlad by the collar of his shirt and threatens Vlad, saying that if ANYTHING happens to them...he’ll kill him. Vlad of course just writes it off as Danny being dramatic since he knows he’ll save them all anyway. And this time, Danny doesn’t screw up the timeline to make sure Vlad doesn’t get his ghost powers since he’s already seen the damage something like that can do.
What finally makes Danny snap is when Vlad kidnaps and tortures him to get a mid-morph sample. He’s had enough. And so, one day Danny goes to confront Vlad and it goes something like this:
After Danny calls Vlad out on how evil he’s become, like a spoiled brat Vlad tries to excuse his actions with the whole “Jack Fenton ruined my life” bit to which Danny responds coldly. “No he didn’t Vlad. It was an accident but you CHOSE to use your powers for selfish reasons. You chose to be my enemy. We could have been friends at least, but no.
“The truth is, Vlad, you don’t know HOW to love anyone. If you did, you wouldn’t do things like this. You wouldn’t threaten the lives of my friends and family or reject someone who genuinely loved you! Dani LOVED you, and you threw that all away because of your stupid obsession with the perfect half-ghost son. Well news flash Vlad, I’ve SEEN how it ends once you get what you think you want...
“In a timeline where I actually lost everything and had to come live with you, you destroyed that too. You destroyed what was left of me and the entire world paid the price for your selfishness. You think my dad ruined your life but that’s where you’re wrong, you did that. You destroy everything you touch which means...the only way to make sure you never turn me into that monster is to become it on my own terms so that I’m the only one who has to live with the guilt. Because I’d rather die a hero...then live long enough to see myself become a worse villain than you.”
After that, Danny goes all out and stops pulling his punches. They duke it out in a seriously intense battle and after Danny comes out on top, but only just, Danny tells Vlad that if he EVER crosses the line again it’s over. No second chances. No mercy. Because Vlad was slowly turning into a real monster, not just some cartoon villain and Danny’s not willing to risk the fate of the world or the safety of his friends and family on sparing the life of a self-centered jerk who keeps saying all he wants is love but then ends up doing things to make Danny hate him more and more as time passes.
So, Vlad has a choice to make.
He can either keep going on like this, pushing Danny away completely.
Or, Vlad can stop and take a long hard look at his life and realize Danny’s right. This has to end before its too late and any chance they might have to become anything more than enemies is gone forever.
Even if Vlad can’t be Danny’s father...he can at least become a mentor which is better than nothing and means he won’t be alone anymore. Then the two of them can have at least one person around who understands them better than anyone else in their lives. Heck, even agreeing to a truce would be a huge improvement...
Anyways, just had to get this idea out of my system. Hope you liked it!

Would Dani stay loyal to Ancient Vlad, or does she realize that hating humanity is wrong? 🖤
I think that she'd struggle, because she can see both sides of the argument. Or, she will.
Vlad actually legitimately loving her here, makes things very complicated because that's her dad!
She wants to side with him.
But then there's Danny, her template, who likewise doesn't hate her & accepts her despite being made by his antagonist. And he even willingly gave them his midmorph DNA once he understood what they were after.
So, she wants to side with him too.
Then there's Val, who she thinks is very cool, who's human, but she was nice to her.
And so are Sam, Tucker, Jazz, & Jack.
The thing is, this means that there have to be other good humans out there & she doesn't wanna hurt them. But at the same time, there are definitely bad ones out there too.
Maybe... we could use this as a way to make her begin to destabilize again. In that any ghost can destabilize, it's just that it requires an extensive amount of inner turmoil & cognitive dissonance.
Which, this could be what ends up finally bringing Vlad to his senses.
Maybe... We make it so that it was Maddie who requested that Val bring Ellie in. Because she refuses to experiment on what could possibly be her son's ghost. But, she hears that Ellie is his clone &, if true, then she could give Maddie the answers she's been needing.
So, she insinuates that she's just giving Ellie a little checkup & instead of simply melting her down, she gives the kid a full examination, though more invasive than the typical one.
Which ends up being scary & uncomfortable for Ellie. But, upon looking at her ectoplasm through a microscope, she sees ecto-orgnanic cells rather than simply ectoplasmic molecules.
Then, to confirm it once & for all, she puts the ectoplasm through a Fenton Centrifuge, then tests the DNA, which comes out to show her son's DNA if it was XX.
She nearly collapses at the weight of it all.
She'd killed her baby. She'd built a machine that turned her baby into an... an abomination!
And then, she realized that Ellie was falling apart, so seeing her son in her, she used her husband's Ecto-Rejuveno (Ecto-Dejecto, but here it actually works the way it was designed because Jack was actively trying to make something that would help his son). Which stabilizes her.
Like, Maddie's still basically gonna be pretty racist to ghosts & changing that will be very slow, but I think that D-Stabilize can be where shit changes for her.
But now, Vlad has a reason to hate Maddie specifically even though she didn't let his baby destabilize, she still performed invasive tests on her without either her or his permission.
And despite Maddie considering Ellie to be one of the only good ghosts, remaining largely anti-ghost for now, thus making her an interesting reflection of Vlad that he doesn't yet recognize.
Either way, this will be the start of Vlad beginning to change his mind. He's just gonna be stubborn about it.
Also, please keep the asks down to 7 per day?

hi!! i just got your prompts for the truce and i wanted to check if you have any headcanons about the clones, dark danny, or danny as a dad?
(i will also probably be rewatching the ultimate enemy and kindred spirits to get more info considering it has been a hot minute for me XD) 💚💚💚
Hi! Thank you for asking! I'll try to keep this brief, since I could go on for hours and do need to go to sleep at some point. XD
Clones- All the clones were/are self aware, not mindless like they're treated in the episode. They're all siblings, including Dani(I usually call her Elle) and love each other very much. I like the idea of them all coming back as full ghosts. But them being stabilized and actually being half ghosts with humans forms is really great too. Either way, they're free of Vlad now and explore the Ghost Zone and/or Earth as a family.
The names I usually use from the are:
Damian/Dami for the Tiny Clone
Ezekiel/Zeke for the Skeletal Clone
Prometheus/Pro for the Muscly clone
Daniel/Niel for the Prime "perfect" clone
Dark Danny- For his characterization, I usually treat him as Danny but older and evil. There is some influence from Vlad but more what you'd expect from living with someone for a while. And not from having any of Plasmuis' memories or personality. My headcanon for why he decided to destroy everything- he wanted the pain to go away at a universal scale; if they were no one around, there would be no one in pain. It's a very twisted version of his motivation for splitting in the first place. I love the idea that he secretly regrets killing Fenton, his Danny. That act was part suicide (He was Danny and Danny didn't want to live anymore), part mercy killing (His human self wanted to die so he made it happen), and part fit of rage (He was angry about being rejected by himself, by his other half). But in the end he really regrets doing that because with his human half gone, he's incomplete. Maybe, if he'd died full as Danny Fenton-Phantom, as Danny the half ghost, then he wouldn't be here. Or he'd been a full ghost but still completely himself. But a part of him is gone and he'll never be whole, never really be himself again.
Maybe he's wrong about this and not as far gone as he thinks. Maybe the part of him that's Danny Fenton, the part that feeling, loves, and hurts, is still there, inside of him. Maybe it's an echo, a memory, an imprint. Or maybe it's something else.
Danny as a dad- He's a good father. :) Danny's a big hugger just like his own dad is. He loves playing with his kids, teaching them about their powers. I think he has a bit of angst of the idea of his kids inheriting his ghostliness. They'll always be right on the edge like him, not quite human and not quite ghost. It's a hard thing to face and he doesn't want his kids to have to face the pains that came with that but there's also a comfort that they'll never have to go it alone like he did.
I love the idea of Danny call his kids "His little one(s)" when they're young, like baby or toddler age. I saw that used in @floralflowerpower 's "A Bolt from the Green" and it absolutly melts my heart. I ended up using that in my one dad!Danny story too. It's called "Offspring of my Ectoplasm. My child." Bare with me for the strange start but in that one, Danny ends up with a son due to weird ghostly asexual reproduction. He and Sam end up naming the little guy Jackson. I don't really have any other preferred names for Danny's kids but feel free to use that one.
Also, if it doesn't weird you out, weird ghostly reproduction is a fun way for children to be acquired. As is Vlad cloning Danny again and Danny adopting said infant clone. Also the more typical ways that human's have kids. XD

Long ramble about Dani related kin memories under the read more. CW for child abuse related subjects but nothing especially Intense is gone into detail about here.
So the two episodes that I was in were about maybe a month of two apart chronologically. I wound up being adopted by the Fentons after a little while but within the same year. I think I remember Vlad being the mayor at the time but I think he’d stopped giving a shit about whatever I was doing at that point. Danny told Jazz about our last encounter with Vlad and she wound up doing a bunch of research into child psychology and trauma (because like, almost being melted to death by your own father as a 12 year old is pretty fucking traumatizing) so she and the rest of the family would know how best to take care of me. I was actually really behind grade level because I only inherited a bit of Danny’s information and he didn’t seem to think an awful lot about long division and basic addition and it isn’t like Vlad bothered teaching me how 2+2=4. They wound up asking Mr. Lancer if he’d mind tutoring me since they trusted him a good amount and he was actually very patient and kind with me even when I was frustrated and thanks to him I was able to attend regular school at grade level the next fall. I think they had let him know about the whole Almost Got Killed by My Evil Ghost Dad thing so he took a little extra care to make sure he was being kind and patient with me. I wound up being a straight B-Student. I have a specific memory of trying to make ginger snap cookies some afternoon as a surprise. Maddie and Jack were in the basement and Danny and Jazz were in school. I dropped a large ceramic bowl that was filled with dough which cracked and made a huge mess. Jack ran upstairs and as soon as I saw him I started just, sobbing, because I was so scared he was going to scream at me like Vlad would’ve. Instead he crouched down, asked if I was alright, and checked my hands to make sure I didn’t cut myself, and then he offered to help get everything cleaned up. Once everything was cleaned and the batter was moved to a new bowl he said something along the lines of, “Hey ! We make a good team kiddo ! How about we wrap this up and put this in the fridge so we can finish them up together later ?” I did manage to grow up somewhat normally in the end but I was always worried about my health and was always a little bit sickly. I was not cis but I wasn’t a binary trans man either and I don’t think I would’ve called myself nonbinary. I don’t know exactly how to phrase this but I wound up being a lot more distinct personality wise from Danny.

This may be a minor gripe but something that has kind of bothered me about discussions and depictions of Dan is how often people seem to forget that Dan isn't just an older evil Danny, he's a combination of Danny and Vlad's ghost sides. Like people always talk about him like Danny threw away his humanity and turned evil but that's not even true. Sure, we can say that Dan is the result of Danny's action but that's a little unfair. (1/2)
(2/2) Him cheating on a test, coincidentally putting his loved one's in a position where they could be killed, is absolutely not his fault. Letting Vlad take away his ghost powers with a strange contraption might not have been the smartest move, but we are talking about a grieving CHILD here, of course he isn't going to make the best decisions. If anything Vlad's the one to blame here, and even then, it's not like he could predict what happened
---
you aren't wrong, my friend. it really isn't entirely danny's fault and the whole 'if you cheat on a test, you'll loose everything you love' moral is confused at best. i think as fandom we find it more interesting to look at danny's potential evil and moral struggle with himself. so simplifying it to be dan is a worse case scenario of danny makes the conflict less abstract.
particularly because when it comes to self blame danny isn't going to go easy on himself just because it was excusable mistakes.
i think another talking point should be how danny is the target of the time assassination more than vlad is, even though vlad is part of the evil whole. you could argue that danny is the catalyst of his friends death and vlad inventing the claw things. but vlad invented the claw things. maybe because his human side survived and acted relatively harmless from then on? or maybe it's because the observants based on the available evidence recognized danny as more of a threat. i think that fits actually, for all vlad tried to be an evil mastermind, his achievements outside of terrorizing a teenager and theft isn't particularly impressive. danny was the one who got shit done. all his fights he finished one way or another and i could see how that would bleed into dan defeating everyone.
the real question is how to we fix this. ideally we could shape this idea so it's less confused, though i do honestly find the dynamic of half danny, half vlad interesting. if for not other reason. than two half ghosts make a whole. actually that's something else to be said about dan. his self-loathing is what led him to killing his human half, another negative aspect coming from danny.
i wonder if we could frame it like fusion, from su. obviously dan isn't stable or healthy, or based on love. he's most comparable to malichite. but with less internal debate. dan took the best and worst of both of them. danny's determination, danny's fighting ability, danny's anger, danny's sarcasm, vlad's anger, vlads lack of morals, vlads schemes, vlad's control. heck, vlads desire to rule the world. i don't think we ever got that from danny.
maybe if vlad was more involved in the fight with dan it could have been used as an opportunity to compare and contrast their characters. to go we're not so different you and i. danny gets to recognize that he has that dark potential. vlad gets to be humbled by the fact that what he wants isn't good for anyone, especially himself. and to be fair, we do see some of that humbling with future vlad, but none of that character growth is given to present vlad, so, really it's just another vehicle for danny angst. it also depends on what you want to do with vlad though. he's a fascinating character and could be given redemption under the right circumstances or be a character who has the opportunity for redemption but chooses not to be redeemed every time.
that fits him and makes him both a more pathetic and despicable villain. it's hard to pity someone who ignores the opportunities to heal and grow.
as for danny, he becomes far more aware of the consequences his actions, especially his selfish and cruel ones can have. because that potential was always there. he has a history of abusing his powers. perhaps for this specific incident him abusing his powers can be something less understandable than almost cheating on a test that he couldn't study for through no fault of his own. (maybe i just have flexible morals?). maybe it could be something more character relevant, like he did something particularly vlad like, maybe he set up a prank at the nasty burger to get dash but it set off the explosion that killed his family. or maybe he did something particularly cruel and manipulative. there are better catalysts than a test. either way he recognized that he should never go that far again and strive to avoid being actively cruel.
he also has the opportunity to recognize that vlad does have a human half, even the one he's fighting everyday. he can face some conflict in it's not entirely clear what trait belongs to vlad and what trait belongs to him. he can empathize with vlad and he can recognize that situations aren't always in black in white. those who fly the highest, fall the hardest, after all.
it can be a growing experience. and while making it solely a danny goes bad and learns not to do evil kind of story. maybe we could cut vlad from the equation and just have danny face himself, full evil refection. i think exploring both vlad and danny through this fusion is far more interesting. especially because we can build on what's revealed about vlad in these episodes, in later ones. danny sees a future where vlad chills and that maybe his vlad could get their. later he see vlads past and what he lost to become who he is.
and then there's vlads turning point episodes. i don't know when motherly instinct took place but maddie fully recognizing he's a bastard and rejection him, was a turning point for his sanity, and danny helped it along. then we have danny rejecting him repeatedly, then we the clone episode, which we can all agree was a desperate move on his part, that danny once again thwarted. and we can all agree that this was the cannon turning point for his character where he stopped fighting for a family and started trying to be danny's villain. in that episode, i think danny could potentially pity vlad enough to try and reach out. he's not going to justify what vlad did and he's not going to apologize for stopping him. he went too far. he hurt danny and dani, he crossed a moral line that can't be justified even with his desperation. but if he changes...
he lost this time but if he changes, maybe they'll reach the point where they're ready to accept him.
i think the same thing could be said about his relationship with jack and maddie. if he changes, if he reaches out. if acts like less of a crazy fruitloop, his friends would be there for him. jack is still trying to be there for him, even if he's being oblivious about vlad's faults. vlads the one driving wedges into his relationships and pushing everyone away.
and that's so freaking human and understandable.it would be such a cool thing to explore with his character.
i could also see a potential arc where after valerie finds out vlad and masters are the same person she tries to get close to him, both to sus out how evil he is and to understand him as a halfa. afterall danny got her to acknowledge dani as human enough, the same would apply to vlad/plasmius, right? only he's a bad person and the more she uncovers about vlad masters the man, the more she realizes it's not the ghost half that's evil. but this is a double edged sword because, vlad is getting attached to her and encouraging her to be more evil. he's encouraging her to go darker and darker in her fight against ghosts and her fight specifically against phantom. to the point where she finally draws the line and says, i'm not doing that! boom exploring the moral ambiguity of her character and getting her to take a hard stance on her morals, because there's a line too far for her.
and boom a further breakdown of vlads character because he finally had someone outside the fentons to redeem him. she could have helped pull him out of the hole he'd been digging himself into. she wanted to help him. he got attached to her, but he and his bad decisions decided to dig himself deeper instead. so once again he's 'abandoned and betrayed'.
from that point, i think it'd be time for him to finally face jack head on. not through manipulative schemes. not through veiled threats and insults. but the full confrontation of 'i always hated you. you ruined my life. you're the reason i lost everything'. which is really just his own self loathing speaking. and jack... empathetic jack can see that vlad desperately wants help. and jack would offer it to him. jack would try to hug it out and apologize and give vlad the love and friendship vlad's been fighting to steal this whole time.
and vlad would reject it.
he'd probably lash out a jack and go into a full breakdown/world destroying attack. could finally put the stolen crown to use and try declaring himself king and embracing his megalomaniac thing and actually be a threat this time. and THAT would be our series finally. everyone teaming up to fight 'king vlad'. danny probably finding out that he's technically king because he beat pariah dark but the matter being a bit confused because he had help. val and danny trying to find the ring of rage or at least find someone who can make one. secrets are out. i imagine vlad, upon revealing himself to jack would out danny to make danny as sad and alone as him. except nope, his family still loves him and val has had the character development to come around to him. (she's still gonna punch danny for lying for so long.) the ghosts will come and help because no one wants another tyrannical kind and vlads obviously off his rocker.
ah, the could have beens
anyway, i didn't mean for this to become a full vlad character analysis and rewrite when we were supposed to be talking about dan, but hey, i'm a simple creature. i like good writing, and i have to rewrite things myself, so be it. - Hestia

An interesting point to make is how Vlad Masters nearly qualifies as both a Magnificent Bastard and a Complete Monster, but he just narrowly misses both marks.
On the Complete Monster side of things, Vlad is honestly the vilest recurring villain on the show by a pretty wide margin. For starters, he hurts Danny on a personal level to an extent unmatched by everyone other than Dark Danny. His longstanding goal is to kill Danny's father and steal his family, simply because Jack "stole" is college crush from him, for starters. To that end, he's willing to: manipulate the teenaged Valerie into becoming a ghost hunter, putting both her life and Danny's at stake. Create expendable clones of Danny, none of which he has any problems with abusing or disposing of despite their love for and loyalty to him. He even brutally tortures Danny so as to extract the data he needs to create the "perfect" clone of him, even attempting to callously risk Dani's life to that end. And even in his first appearance, he possesses Jack in an attempt to ruin his relationship with Maddie.
Of course, when he isn't trying to seduce Maddie and kill Jack, he's fighting Danny for incredibly petty reasons. His crimes under this banner include but aren't limited to: leaving Sam, Danny, and Tucker at the mercy of Salem witch hunters so he can steal their scroll and take over the world, take over Danny's town and ruin his life to win a prank war, forces the ghosts of animals he's killed to serve him, and even poisons Danny's friends, happy to let them die along with him if he isn't saved.
Then, of course, there's his final and most heinous outing. After finally getting his arch-enemy to retire, he openly threatens the world with obliteration unless they elect him as their absolute leader, jeopardizing billions of lives in his quest to take over the world and humiliate Jack.
Vlad is perfectly willing to attempt a body count far exceeding even the most ambitious of the show's villains. His only real rival in either area is Dark Danny, who at least had the excuse of his family dying and having to maintain his own existence. Vlad's excuse is his crush married someone else because of an accident. That quickly falls apart when Masters of All Time reveals just how horribly Vlad would've treated her if things had gone his way to begin with.
However, as monsterous as Vlad, he's ultimately shown to be redeemable. He shows that he had slivers of humanity within him, as he sympathizes with Danny when he loses his family and tries his best to numb the boy's pain. That alone is enough to disqualify him from this, nevermind his guilt induced redemption when things fail.
On the Magnificent Bastard end of the scale, Vlad shows he's Danny's arch enemy for a reason on multiple occasions.
In Reign Storm, Vlad attempts to steal the Ghost King's ring and crown, only for that to backfire when the King wakes up. What follows is Vlad masterfully improvising by manipulating everyone he interacts with, ultimately culminating in him stealing both the Ecto-Skeleton and the Crown of Fire, all while turning the Fright Knight to his side and repairing his relationship with Maddie. He wins on all fronts and never loses his cool throughout the episode, even when he faces down opponents miles out of his league.
When Danny and Co get their hands on a scroll that allows them to traverse time itself, Vlad catches up with them and steals it by playing the time period against them, coming up with multiple back up plans along the way. When one time period doesn't work out, he just travels to another and adjusts his strategy accordingly, only losing when the scroll itself turns against him.
Even at the start of Season 3, Vlad proves his savy by effortlessly taking over the town from undeg Danny's nose, before using his position to turn everyone against Danny Fenton. When Danny regains the public vote, Vlad turns the effort against him by handily defeating him in front of everyone before allowing his human half to "save the day". Only a last minute gambit on Danny's part prevents Vlad's absolute victory and, even then, the episode ends in a stalemate with Vlad as mayor.
The problem arises when you realize how inconsistent this level of hyper competence is for Vlad.
When Jack Fenton alone arrives to stop Vlad from stealing his portal, Vlad gloats about having the perfect opportunity to kill him. He then proceeds to get his ass kicked, whining indignantly about how impossible his defeat is as he's tossed into the portal.
When Jazz shows up at his front doorstep claiming she wants to live with him, Vlad ignores all the obvious red flags she gives him simply because she keeps insulting Jack and praising his ego. Jazz would've gotten in and out without raising a blip on Vlad's radar if Danny hadn't gotten caotured.
Then, of course, there's the time he succeeded in getting himself alone with Danny and Maddie. Does he try to slowly seduce her whilst planting doubts in her mind about Jack? Nope. He spills his guts about hating Jack and expects her to just drop Jack in a heartbeat to be with him. She storms out. Nevermind Vlad ends the episode by getting chased into the woods by his own minions.
Of course, none of this is a knock against Vlad as a character. Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard aren't the be-all and end-all of villainy. It's just funny to note that Vlad comes close to hitting the two big villain tropes on TV Tropes, only to miss both by inches. Vlad is Danny's arch enemy because he's the most personal of all his foes. Not because he's the most brilliant or most monsterous. If anything, this zig zagging makes Vlad all the more dangerous. He's pitiful and easily humiliated one day, monsterous and magnificent the next. For all his shortcomings, Danny still better watch his back. "Funny, joke around Vlad isn't here today!"
