On March 15th, 2024 at 9pm EST, Wayneradiotv started streaming, "A Difficult Game About Climbing." Early in the stream, Wayne mentions Maroon 5 and Justin Timberlake (JT), incorrectly remembering whether JT was apart of Maroon 5 or not.
Justin Timberlake was never apart of Maroon 5.
Wayne learns this fact through a Justin Timberlake fandom wiki page on Maroon 5, he edited the page to add "Justin Timberlake was in it at some point."
This edit caused over 740 edits to be made to the Maroon 5 page, as well as several edits to other pages on the JT Wiki. The edits were mentions of the stream, and devolved into: An Anonymous user (or users) claiming that Justin Timberlake is their dad, Young Mokey overtaking the page (Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory make appearances too), as well as... a gorilla.
Over the course of the 7 hour stream, I took screen shots of all of the changes that I could catch (again, over 700 of them and I only caught a large amount). The Anti-Vandalism Warriors fought valiantly until the end, eventually coming to a truce with the Young Mokey Brigade. One of the A-V Warriors is @rotgutinc, I salute your efforts, as they were not in vain.
As of March 16th, 2024, 9:01 AM UTC (4:01 AM EST), the Maroon 5 page is protected, and all pages were reverted to their original state. Picture edited to hide all the IP addresses. Highlighted in yellow are the pages affected (and subsequently changed back). Pages were deleted and highlighted in blue is the Protection Log. Here is a link of all the screenshots I took that night.

Tl;Dr: Wayne suffered a Sisyphean curse while a Fandom Wiki for Justin Timberlake was ravaged in the wake of his misremembering JT as a member of Maroon 5.

I think I also want to explain my big bias about romance in epics: a heavily opinionated thread
Keep in mind, I’m not trying to throw shade at any indie creators who do this, just trying to explain my style and why
I really don’t like “Star-Crossed” Lovers and “Love interest to be built up and killed off” tropes. Not sure I ever did honesty.
I get why they work, they just don’t work for me. Unless like Peter Parker they get another chance again.
And three franchises were the final straw for me, and what drove me to go indie along with being inspired by indie works of others
First it was RWBY the tragic end of Arkos and what I feared to be sane of Black Sun among others along with the doomed fate of Oscar Pine
I tried to express my distaste of it on tumblr on my past accounts and RWBY wiki discussion forum(big mistake, I know) and I regretted it so much
Tumblr media
Never had I met a fanbase so arrogant, self righteous, and sanctimonious about this kind of stuff, going on how amazing these tropes and dark stories like RWBY initially seemed circa V3-Finale along with Madoka Magica and Akame Ga Kill were and sneering at anything even one shade lighter than that
They were either passive-aggressively judging and gaslighting me, or outright lecturing me
How a epic story that has Dork knight and a lonely warrior woman isolated by society crushing on him,  or a unlucky moody girl and sunshine himbo, a doomed hero having a well earned happy ending, especially if it involved resurrection as a good thing was nothing but “pandering”, petty, and worthless and the preference of the weak and cowardly
Even one fan said “people don’t find that interesting, sorry.” And that another fan seemed to stated characters like Pyrrha and Jaune are only fit for tragic endings because “that’s the kind of character she is” both of which these fans spoke as these things were gospel, or they themselves had some kind of storytelling authority
Then I heard about Superman and Lois Lane getting married and having a kid and even Bruce and Selena getting hitched, until hearing both marriages get trashed along with a few others
Along with the defense Dan Didio gave
It was absolutely MADDENING to me
"Heroes shouldn’t have happy personal lives. They are committed to being that person and committed to defending others at the sacrifice of their own personal interests.
That’s very important and something we reinforced. People in the Bat family their personal lives basically suck. Dick Grayson, Bruce Wayne, Tim Drake, Barbara Gordon and Kathy Kane. It’s wonderful that they try to establish personal lives, but it’s equally important that they set them aside. That is our mandate, that is our edict and that is our stand."
Like, these guys want to hopeful, but only in certain ways the pop-culture/literary ‘intellectuals’ deem acceptable as well as what they deem to be ‘interesting’ and what I had in mind did not only not qualify, it was seen as outright heresy
When I brought this up in my grievances with stories like RWBY, one holier-that-thou jerk supported it because
“Single Batman and Superman sells well”
After writing my preferences off as “pandering” and only for the likes such as Disney and Marvel,
The Self-Centered hypocrisy was staggering because what he said and his many followers were basically saying this;
“We don’t like it when your niche interest stuff is forced into our stuff, but when the case is in the reverse? We’re totally cool with that, and we hope it keeps happening.”
other fans said what I wanted was only for sitcoms, imposing themselves as gatekeepers of *epic storytelling itself*
From where I was standing, there is a growing hatred of couples in epics go through and making it and even getting married and having children, especially those of certain dynamics all under the guise of “hopepunk” and “The Greater Good.” Or whatever the term is now
Prattled on by conceited fandoms who in my opinion, have become a bunch of literary snobs who think way too highly of themselves
Who go around deciding what ways are legitimate “raised stakes” and “consequences”,
both which might I add are defined by their *own* standards,
Tumblr media
along with their own preferences, especially fates for of certain kinds of ships and characters, which they flaunt as “objective” and above those of “the unwashed masses” in order to justify glorifying them as well as themselves for liking them
youtube
Which then afterwards these fandoms pressure these standards onto aspiring writers such as myself or be exiled to sitcoms, romcoms, Disney, or Marvel.
Because it’s not “entitlement” if it’s directed at the peasants I guess.
That along with the fact their so insecure and discontent with just being different, they need to feel superior than others for their own preferences
Nor they can’t handle the idea somewhere out there there is story that have characters like the those of the stories they enjoy, but with a different outcome
All epic fiction, its characters, its settings, its themes, its use of its inspirations, the creator’s style needs to begin and end on terms of these self-appointed arbiters who, once again, try to justify by presenting their preferences, tastes, and “personal emotional beats” as objective and superior
And once again: I’m *NOT* saying creators who goes with the tragic romance route are bad or malicious, most of them are just doing their thing
This problem lies with sycophantic individuals among fandoms who appoint their chosen champion’s ways as law and act offended on their behalf, even though they never spoken to these creators personally nor did these creators asked them to pick up a sword in their name and are not held accountable for their behavior
And what’s worse, is that these groups imply epic stories where heroic couples get married and have families are allegedly incompatible outside of Disney or Marvel or else it ends up as terrible story
Which they will imply is the case for stories like DragonBall Z, Sword Art Online, and Naruto/Boruto
But when *their* way of doing things ruins a franchise like DC comics and people complain about it?
It’s the whining of unwashed masses or vocal toxic minority opposed to the enlightened few or informed majority
Tumblr media
Because *their* way makes everything better and always will
It’s incredibly self absorbed and narcissistic
So that’s why I’ve been so keen on having my heroes find love, get married and having families. Especially ones who’ve been through so much sorrow.
I’m just weary of this and tired of fandoms telling me when I’m disappointed;
“It’s not for you” and implying “nothing should be for you and everything should be for us”
And I’m certain I’m not the only one who feels this way
You don’t have to share my personal tastes and distaste’s in story beats in epics, once again, I just want you guys to understand.

By the way I just want to let everybody know this when it comes to my warrior cats designs/general cat designs: If I draw a cat with folded ears, a flat face, etc. I do NOT, and I repeat, I DO NOT condone the breeding of those cat breeds (Folds, Munchkins, Persians, etc.). I hope this should be obvious to everybody but I am not trying to condone this kind of shit nor am I trying to "normalize" it, it is simply a design choice I add.
Also come the fuck on warrior cats fans, one of the most popular characters is literally a fucking Persian cat (YellowFang), even if it's never outright stated, she had the flat, broad muzzle of a persian cat and her official art (Wayne's art) portrays her as such

You Are the Sun and I—
First posted: August 5, 2019
Focuses on: Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent
Favorite bookmark: "Note to self: This is literally the fic of your dreams."
Second favorite bookmark: "THE ANGSTIEST ANGST TO EVER ANGST. HOLYYYYY SHIT."
Tier:
This is my “behind the scenes” series where I indulge myself horribly by annotating my fics. Link to the fic itself above. Thoughts below the cut.
I'm so happy that I've finally made it to my first Bruce and Clark fic in this obnoxiously narcissistic exercise. I love this series. And when I wrote this fic, it wasn't even a series yet! As I put in the fic note, @audreycritter got me hooked on a phenomenal Lois/Clark fic (originally posted on FFN, now here on AO3), and I got brain worms thinking about how ridiculously overpowered Clark is as Superman and how utterly terrifying that would be to Bruce before they learned to trust each other fully.
I also had mentally tattooed the entirety of "The Last of the Real Ones" by Fall Out Boy to my brain as the One True SuperBros Song, so pulling a lyric from there as the title just made sense. (Also please note that this fic was written in 2019. I talked about it incessantly. Audrey finally listened and told me I was correct, this was a Bruce and Clark song, in 2022.)
Bruce could feel when the tides of battle began to turn in their favor. He was no warrior, but he was a strategist and a businessman. Negotiations with fists and weapons were negotiations nonetheless, and the shifting winds of favor never failed to lift the hair on the back of his neck.
Starting this one, I knew I wanted to address Clark's terrifying abundance of power through Bruce, so it would need to open on the battlefield. Bruce would need to see what Clark could do, really see for the first time, and not be able to handle it.
Which all sounds very orderly and logical but my brain kicked off this fic by handing me the opening line and letting me wrestle through "Would Bruce see himself as a warrior??? Probably not, he's a defender but not really a chest-thumping champion... right?? Okay, so how would he see a battlefield, then, how would he operate—"
The last blow had popped something in his chest, making pain radiate with every breath. Besides, he was outmatched here, and the winds had shifted. . . . Superman gripped the beast by one of its many throats and whirled the wheezing creature over his head before slamming it to earth. The ground buckled with the concussive blow. Bruce cowered on his face, arms thrown protectively over his head and neck, and rode the cresting wave of dirt and weeds until the earth settled with a shudder back into place.
All of this was important for Bruce's psychological state. Like he's down. He is out of this fight, but he's also physically watching from a lowered position, face smashed into the dirt. He is a worm, a speck, crawling in the muck at the feet of gods. It's kind of a lot for him.
Bruce shuddered a bit himself as he lifted his head once more. The creature lay prone and unmoving where it had been thrown, likely dead but certainly defeated. Above it, Superman hovered, his back to Bruce as he faced the watching entities arrayed between him and the sun. He was utterly still except for the slow ebb and flow of his cape, a monument to implacable power. He was so small, little more than a speck against the armies waiting above. And yet it did not matter. He did not move. “This planet is protected.” Alien lungs carried the words through the open air, a trumpet of triumph and a warning. There was no answer from above. The hosts gleamed in the light, casting deep shadows over their fallen champion. Superman rose. Not much, just a few dozen feet, but he seemed to grow larger as he lifted. Thousands of eyes followed his movements. “This planet is protected.” This time, the words were not spoken but roared. Even from a distance, Bruce could see the tendons bulge in Superman’s neck. His normally cool blue eyes burned red. “This world and its people are under my protection. I have destroyed your great champion. Return and I will destroy you, too. This is your only warning.”
I just need everyone to know even so many years after, I can still see this clearly in my head, which pleases me. I also wish I could Art, because mannnnn do I want to paint it.
Clark. Is. Scary.
It was like worrying over a mote of dust or a ragged cobweb. He was nothing, just a man wrapped in a thin layer of plastic and dead animal. His life was a squiggly little amoeba on the petri dish of humanity, just one out of billions, and they would all rise and fall under the eyes of the one hovering before him. “I’m fine.” Even as the words came out, Bruce marveled that he could speak, that he could sound normal. Gruffer than usual, certainly, but still stoic, still in control. Not like his world had just radically shifted in scope.
He's toooooootally fine, just having a wee little existential crisis combined with a panic attack because he feels like he'll never feel safe again, all good.
“No offense, but you don’t look fine.” Of course he didn’t. Because Superman had x-ray vision. He could see what was wrong with Bruce’s knee, with his chest, with his pounding head. In one glance, he could know more about Bruce’s body than Bruce did.
Clark: buddy, you're limping and you look a little green
Bruce: I AM BEING SCANNED!!!!!!! NOTHING IS PRIVATE!!!!!!!!
Then Bruce had met what he had thought was the man behind the lone curl and valiant smile. He’d gotten to know Clark, had reluctantly fallen under the sway of a big-hearted man with a soft lilt to his voice and stars in his eyes. It wasn’t that Bruce had forgotten what Clark was capable of; the lead-lined safe in the Batcave attested to that. No, it was more that Bruce had… set it aside. He’d valued his partnership with the Man of Steel, had let himself be soothed by a Midwestern accent and an aw-shucks demeanor.
Honestly, this is the real thing. I don't get into it so much in this fic, but their friendship is still on the new side but so important to Bruce. He trusted Clark. He valued Clark. He relied on Clark, as much as Bruce Wayne lets himself rely on anyone who isn't Alfred. So now he feels stupid, he feels betrayed, he feels scared, and I think beneath it all is grief, because he feels like he lost a friend he never had.
He needed to heal and to plan. Nothing he came up with would be enough, he knew that even now, but the need for contingencies was baked into his marrow. He needed to get to work. He wanted to crawl under his bed and huddle in the dark like a child.
Bruce Wayne is SHOOK.
Superman called the next day. Bruce refused to answer and waved Alfred away. The wise move, he knew, would be to behave exactly the same. The man The alien was a threat, but not an active one. The more Bruce could keep him in an unsuspecting, tolerant lull, the better. He couldn’t do it. Superman would know. A fragment of his voice, a peek at his heart rate, his pulse, and Bruce’s deception would be undone. Thankfully, Bruce already had a reputation for surliness and standoffishness, so he could fall back on that for a little while.
A few things here. 1) The crossed-out text feels a little amateurish now, but honestly it did what I needed it to do. Bruce had started thinking of Clark as human, but he is now determined not to make that mistake again.
2) These paragraphs are me going "NUTS. Bruce wouldn't have behaved like that! He would know not to raise suspicion! But it makes sense emotionally for him to react that way, so how do I reconcile this on page?"
Have I mentioned lately that writing is hard?
The situation might have stagnated for months, or even years, a standoff with only one side participating, had Gotham not been so very… Gotham.
Clark would have noticed, of course, and absolutely would have had his feelings hurt, but he would have still jumped in to help Bruce any time, any place. Good thing Gotham is so efficiently awful sometimes.
Batman and Robin had tracked a ruthless gang of drug smugglers to a block of high-rises under construction in a gentrifying neighborhood of Gotham. The homes and small family businesses, once passed from generation to generation, had been swallowed whole into the maw of “progress,” chewed up, then spat out into flashy new towers of glass and steel.
Witness here the writer 1) painstakingly trying to push her little dolls up somewhere high high high and 2) having very strong feelings about gentrification not benefiting the communities that have the most right to the area being revamped.
They needed to end this fight. Bruce’s chest, though mostly healed, had begun to protest seventeen floors ago. He needed a heating pad and a handful of aspirin. Also, it was past Dick’s bedtime. Alfred was going to be pissed.
Ah the concerns of vigilantism. His boy was there and then he was gone, nothing left but his scream. Bruce fought to get to his feet, but there was no time, no space between Dick and the hard earth thirty floors below. His body was too slow, too feeble, too human. “SUPERMAN!”
hey so turns out when you read a fic like Cor Et Cerebrum as your entry into fandom and it becomes the cornerstone of everything you know, pieces of that will continue to leak through your own work for actual literal years—aka, I consider calling for Superman the most stark indicator of Bat desperation and I love it
Bruce lunged forward, half-crawling, half-limping toward the building’s edge. The third man, Dick’s murderer, had fled.
Bruce you are so friggin dramatic.
Superman had one hand tucked against Dick’s cheek, cradling the boy’s head against his chest and blocking his face from view. At Bruce’s cry, Superman knelt and gently scooped his cargo into Bruce’s trembling arms.
Like a kitten.
You’re safe you’re safe it’s okay I’ve got you I’ve got you I’ve got you it’s okay breathe love breathe
I'll state it here again—Bruce alternates between "sweetheart" and "love." The former is from his parents. The latter is from Alfred.
Bruce jolted when a hand touched his shoulder, and he looked up to see Superman retreat, both palms raised reassuringly. “It’s just me. Everyone’s gone. I took them away. How is he?” . . . “Can I look at him?” The request was hesitant, almost flinching. Superman was watching them, brow furrowed, shoulders pulled together in a way Bruce hadn’t seen before—not in that outfit, anyways.
He knows he's scared Bruce somehow. He might not know exactly what did it, but he knows and he's trying so hard not to make it worse.
“Yes, but could we… could we talk?” The Midwestern lilt had started to creep in, warping the vowels and making them soft. Hesitant. Bruce’s eyes narrowed and Superman met his gaze sheepishly. “You can say no. I’ve just gotten the feeling you’ve been avoiding me. Was it something I did?”
The thing is, this is early days, sure, but they were friends. They were absolutely friends at this point. Clark was Robin's go-to non-family adult! So this wasn't "Batman distanced himself from an ally." It was "Bruce ghosted his friend and it hurt."
He’d been stupid. So incredibly stupid. Little more than a child seeing monsters in the bathroom drain and murderers in the closet. “I’m sorry,” Bruce rasped. Guilt and remorse battled pride and won. Clark had saved his boy. He was owed. “I got scared.” Shock flared in Clark’s eyes, only to be doused by more sadness. “I understand. I know it’s hard to… I know I’m not… It can be a lot, all of this. But Bruce, I would never, never hurt you or Dick. You have to know that.” He couldn’t make that promise. They didn’t know how long Clark would live, what would happen in his life, in Bruce’s life, in the life of the planet, while he waited for his end. He had to know that promise wasn’t enough.
And that's really the thing. Bruce cuts himself no slack and he doesn't loosen up because when he loosens up, people get hurt. They die. He knows he was stupid for being afraid of Clark right now. Clark doesn't mean him or anyone else any harm. But Bruce is so particular about promises, about their boundaries and what he actually can or cannot guarantee. That shows up in other fics, too. Bruce might trust that Clark does mean him harm now, but he can't promise forever. Neither of them know how Kryptonians age or what happens when they do, or even what normal life might bring, and Superman is still so jaw-droppingly, horrifyingly powerful.
Also, making Bruce sound like a little boy with "I got scared" was my favorite.
Bruce didn’t need extraterrestrial abilities to read the emotions passing over Clark’s face like clouds, to see that Clark was at a loss, desperate to regain the trust he had lost but already convinced of the futility and unwilling to impose on the one person he himself had trusted with both of his lives. He rubbed the pad of his thumb against his finger, the fretful gesture of a doer who didn’t know what to do.
Hi, I love Clark Kent. Like, a lot.
Sky blue eyes flew to meet Bruce’s gaze. Bruce held steady, one hand extended. Clark stared, then smiled, and it was like watching the sun rise.
Sun and sky descriptors with these two are also my favorite.
They could let the god carry them down to the car. Just thinking about the walk made Bruce’s knee throb.
Ah, how quickly the awe fades 😂

DC Cinematic Universe, Phase One Plan
Doing some research ahead of where I'm at with the villain blogs, here is my expected plan for Phase One of this theoretical cinematic universe:
THE FLASH - During a freak lightning storm, police scientist Barry Allen and his girlfriend's little brother Wally both end up developing super speed. As a result, a local gang breaks into a research lab and steals a number of high-tech weapons to be able to fight back.
Starring: Barry Allen/Flash, Wally West/Kid Flash, Iris West, Joe West, Ralph Dibny, Sue Dibny, Len Snart/Captain Cold, Digger Harkness/Captain Boomerang, Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Mark Mardon/Weather Wizard, James Jesse/Trickster, Hartley Rathaway/Pied Piper.
MARTIAN MANHUNTER - A Martian warrior finds himself stranded on Earth after being teleported there by an old scientist. Now hunted by intergalactic "peacekeepers" called the Manhunters, the Martian befriends a former marine named John Stewart, who helps him find his way home again.
Starring: J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter, John Stewart, Katma Tui, Scar, the Manhunters, Dr. Simon Erdel, likely some government people like Amanda Waller.
GREEN LANTERN - A team of Green Lanterns chase the war criminal Atrocitus to Earth after he perfects a red ring to fight back against them. When one Lantern is killed, his ring ends up in the hands of Hal Jordan, who must now be trained in its use to save his world and the entire galaxy. But the more he learns, the more he discovers about the Lantern leader's hand in Atrocitus's origin.
Starring: Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, Thaal Sinestro, Arisia, Ch'p, Salaak, Kilowog, Atrocitus/Red Lantern, Dex-Starr, Abin Sur, Carol Ferris, Thomas Kalmaku, Hector Hammond, likely some other supporting Lanterns.
WONDER WOMAN - While pursuing the dangerous terrorist Baroness Paula von Gunther, military operative Steve Trevor and his team stumble upon a lost island in the Mediterranean. The island's princess, Diana, works with them to stop the Baroness from endangering the island and the entire world.
Starring: Diana/Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor, Etta Candy, Barbara Ann Minerva, Baroness Paula von Gunther, Doctor Poison, Queen Hippolyta, Donna Troy, Nubia, and many other Amazons.
AQUALAD - Jackson Hyde is the son of underwater treasure hunter David Hyde AKA the Black Manta, scouring the world for the lost Trident of the Dead King, a weapon used to sink Atlantis. When Jackson meets an Atlantean named Garth, he learns there is some truth to his father's tales and must work together with Garth to stop him from getting his hands on it.
Starring: Jackson Hyde/Aqualad, Garth/Tempest, David Hyde/Black Manta, Black Jack, Eel, Charybdis, Scylla, Scavenger, Cal Durham, Atlan/Dead King.
GREEN ARROW - Rogue vigilante Oliver Queen finds himself captured by the government and forced into Amanda Waller's Suicide Squad, including such members as Dinah Lance, Roy Harper, and Slade Wilson. They are sent after foreign noble Count Vertigo, who poses a threat to the United States. After the job is done, Oliver betrays Waller and puts his life on the line to get himself, Dinah, and Roy out of the squad.
Starring: Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Dinah Lance/Black Canary, Roy Harper/Speedy, Amanda Waller, Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, Count Vertigo, likely other members of the Suicide Squad.
JUSTICE LEAGUE - Earth finds itself attacked by a race of aliens called Kryptonians, endowed with powers beyond any human. Bruce Wayne (who has been acting as a Nick Fury figure throughout the previous movies) brings together Princess Diana, J'onn J'onzz, Barry Allen, and Hal Jordan to help fight against them. Arthur Curry also joins, having been caught up in the initial attack alongside Diana as they both fought the villainous Atlantean, Queen Clea. Oliver Queen receives an invitation as well, but turns it down before ultimately helping in the end. Other characters like John Stewart also pitch in, resulting in John receiving a Green Lantern ring in the end. As the battle rages, Bruce investigates a twenty+ year old report of a Kryptonian ship crash-landing in Kansas, leading him to Clark Kent.
Starring: Clark Kent/Superman, Bruce Wayne/Batman, Princess Diana/Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, Barry Allen/Flash, Arthur Curry/Aquaman, J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter, General Zod, Faora-Ul, Ursa, Non, Jax-Ur, Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, John Stewart, Lois Lane, Martha Kent, Jonathan Kent, various other supporting cast, and Queen Clea.
TEEN TITANS - After witnessing an alien girl taken captive, Bruce Wayne's former protegee Dick Grayson begins investigating HIVE, a special "academy" where superpowered teens are taken by the government and trained to work for them. Wally West, Jackson Hyde, and Roy Harper likewise start investigating for similar reasons. Among the students they rescue are the alien girl Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Raven.
Starring: Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Roy Harper/Speedy, Wally West/Kid Flash, Jackson Harper/Aqualad, Koriandr/Starfire, Victor Stone/Cyborg, Garfield Logan/Beast Boy, Rachel Roth/Raven, Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, Amanda Waller, HIVE staff.
And that's it. The ordering of the first six can be subject to change, but the two big crossovers remain the same. What do you think? Would you watch this as a series?

Heavenly Warriors: The Evolution of Japan’s Military, 500–1300 (Harvard East Asian Monographs)
This is a fairly old book since it was first published in 1996, but it remains the best English-language introduction to the history of the warrior class in ancient Japan. In English, Japanese warriors are usually referred to as ‘samurai’. Although this is a Japanese word, it is a term that is not used all that often in Japanese. ‘Samurai’ means ‘one who serves’ and originally had a much broader meaning than ‘warrior’. In Japanese, depending on the type and period, many different words are used for ‘warrior’. The most common replacement is ‘bushi’, which literally means ‘fighting man’.
Farris believes that, in studying the history of bushi, historians have been too keen to try and make the Japanese past fit into models derived from that of Europe.
Heavenly Warriors: The Evolution of Japan’s Military, 500–1300, by William Wayne Farris, covers the history of bushi from 500 to 1300 CE. The book contains eight chapters. The first chapter deals with the period from 500 to 645 and examines the indigenous origins of Japan’s warrior class. The second covers 645 to 770 and explains how, as a part of a wave of cultural borrowing from mainland Asia, the Japanese state adopted a Chinese system of military organization. Chapter Three details how these Chinese-style armies performed in wars in northeastern Japan against the Emishi between 770 to 900. Chapter Four focuses on the period 850 to 950 when government armies were used to suppress domestic rebellions. Chapter Five looks at the evolution of military institutions in both the capital and provinces in the middle Heian period from 950 to 1050. Chapter Six describes developments in the later Heian period from 1050 to 1150, including the Former Nine Years' War and the Latter Three Years' War. Chapter Seven deals with the rise of the Taira family and their eventual destruction by the Minamoto clan between 1150 and 1185. In the final chapter, Farris describes warrior armies in the early Kamakura period from 1185 to 1300.

I love your writing but I don't read any batman comics or watch any batman shows or seen a single batman movie except like, two and a half episodes of teen titans go. I mean I do know some basics from internet osmosis but that only covers Wayne family adventures pretty much. So ummm who were all those people with dick lol
Oh yes! I like writing stuff that's really widely accessible because I like beating out my own tunes, but I've been on a big comic kick again and sometimes I will write stuff that's less accessible. The new stupid long story will also not be as accessible, sorry! I try to explain stuff for people unfamiliar with the canon plotline.
Without going into a ton of spoilers for the main plotline of the fic, but covering what I stated in the fic:
Dick Grayson AKA Nightwing is the leader of the Teen Titans, a superhero team that (in this universe) he joined when he was 18. In actual canon he was a founder with Wally and Donna (and Garth but who cares). Out of universe, the Teen Titans were invented in the 1960s. The Teen Titans listed are from the slightly later stages of the 1980s comic. The team is formed out of:
Three members from the original 1960s team: the Flash's sidekick Wally West (Kid Flash), Wonder Woman's sidekick Donna Troy (Wonder Girl, later Troia), and Dick Grayson (Robin, later Nightwing). They've all always been friends since the 60s and Donna and Dick especially are best friends, something I think people should mention more! Guy/Girl BFFs, cowards!!!
In the 1980s they were joined by the other, arguably most famous members of the cast. They're most famous because they were the cast members from the 2005 Teen Titans show, which was the cast from the Teen Titans Go show you saw. They would be Victor Stone (Cyborg, who has a serious personality in the comics), Garfield Logan (Beast Boy, jokey and fun in any incarnation), Koriand'r (Starfire, warrior alien princess), and Raven (Raven, hellspawn and #gothgirl).
More obscure dudes also listed (AKA not major characters in the TV show or around since the 60s) would be Joey Wilson (Jericho, who is Slade's son and mute, so he uses ASL). He's not that obscure. More obscure is Panthera (panther lady?) and Danny Chase (deeply fucking annoying). I admit I only know Panthera and Danny Chase from osmosis, I've only read a few comics from this run. There were other guys too but they looked boring.
All that you really needed to know is that they're his friends, Kori is his girlfriend, Dick leads the team, that they're a #ragtagbunchofmisfits, that Joey is Slade's son, and that Dick has a guilt complex. Kind of.
Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke is like Dick's Arch Nemesis and was the first real antagonist for the series, as well as the antagonist for the most famous arc The Judas Contract (whereupon Slade planted Terra in the team as a #spy). He's probably most famous for being the main bad guy in the cartoon, and who uh kinda fucked as a bad guy. He's always canonically the "COME JOIN ME" bad guy and is always after Dick as an apprentice. There's an arc in both the comics and the show where he kidnaps Dick and forces him to work for him, which causes some pretty lasting trauma in him in both incarnations. He's also a terrible dad and a failhusband. I don't read him too much in the comics so I can't say for sure how interesting the comics get with him, but his relationship with Dick is always very fraught and complex and has a lot of history. He has a lot of respect for Dick and he takes him seriously as an adversary no matter his age but he thinks Batman is lame and that Dick should kill people and stuff and JOIN HIMMMM.
In this AU, basically because Dick's life before Nightwing was kept under absolute wraps, and Slade was so obsessed with the apprentice stuff, I think Slade thought it was funny/satisfying to make up this whole shared backstory between them that Dick just couldn't disagree with jkalsdjf. Because Dick is much more of a spy than in canon he also has a lot of juicy blackmail (from his ex-wife, I think lol) on him. So they have bother a closer relationship and a more M.A.D. one than in canon. I think Slade finds it delightful that Dick isn't as good of a person as he pretends, and I think Dick lost most of his family at once, including his very drill sergeant and hard-edged father and must have, even unwillingly, reacted to somebody who was actually trying to parent him. Well. "Parent".
Wow, that was long and I didn't even digress. I'm always stunned by how y'all will read something no matter the fandom if it's by me, thank you so much! It makes me very happy to give you guys stuff like the Steph thing, where I love the idea of it being an introduction to Batman. Unfortunately internet Batman and comics Batman have. uhhhhh. drifted. apart. and. harder to click into if you aren't as into the comics, but thank you brave soldiers!

When this picture was taken, likely in early September of 1873, these three men were the most famous Westerners alive. Seated on the right is Buffalo Bill Cody, who earned his name as the greatest buffalo hunter alive before rising to fame as a scout for the United States Army. Across the table sits Wild Bill Hickok, the deadliest gunslinger of his day and perhaps the most fabled lawman in American history. And behind these two men, with his right hand resting familiarly on Wild Bill's shoulder, stands Texas Jack Omohundro.
Omohundro wasn't a buffalo hunter or a lawman in Kansas cow towns. Texas Jack was a cowboy. The Earl of Dunraven, who hunted with both Texas Jack and Buffalo Bill, wrote:
"Buffalo Bill had always been in Government employ as a scout, but Texas Jack had been a cowboy, one of the old-time breed of men who drove herds of cattle from way down South to Northern markets for weeks and months, through a country infested by Indians and white cattle thieves."
When these three men toured as The Scouts of the Plains, audiences who rushed to their local theaters to catch a glimpse of their heroes were gladly spending their hard-earned money to see the West's most famous scout, its most famous lawman, and its most famous cowboy together on stage. They were so famous that nearly 150 years after they posed for this picture, they still shape our stories of the American West. Buffalo Bill became the most famous American, and perhaps the most famous person full stop, during his own lifetime. His Wild West show performed before thousands on both sides of the Atlantic, shaping the public perception of the West in his own image forever. Wild Bill was struck down by an assassin's bullet, but his name lives on, inspiring countless books, movies, television shows, and trips to the small South Dakota town of Deadwood, where Hickok was killed and is buried.
Texas Jack didn't live long enough to ensure his name would be remembered forever and he didn't "die with his boots on" to go down in history. But his life and his legacy as America's first famous cowboy, the man who introduced the lasso act to the stage and rode with Pawnee warriors across the western prairie, has influenced every cowboy story that followed. From Owen Wister's The Virginian to Louis L'amour's Hondo, from Tom Mix to Cary Grant, from Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name to John Wayne's Ethan Edwards—every cowboy has been cast in the mold of Texas Jack.

On this day, August 20, 1794, an American Indian Alliance and the United States Army, led by General Anthony Wayne, came together at the Battle of Fallen Timbers near present-day Toledo, Ohio. The Battle of Timbers was the last major conflict of the Northwest Territory Indian War between American Indians and the United States. At the battle General Anthony Wayne (1745-96) led U.S. troops to victory over a confederation of Indian warriors whose leaders included Chief Blue Jacket of the Shawnees and Chief Little Turtle of the Miamis. The Treaty of Greenville, signed the following year, opened up much of present-day Ohio to settlers.
President George Washington appointed Major General Anthony Wayne as the commander of the United States Army in the Northwest Territory. Wayne was instructed to reorganize the mostly state-based militia force into a more professional army known as the Legion of the United States. Ostensibly the Legion’s mission was to pacify the American Indian tribes in the Northwest in order to bring to an end the widespread frontier violence and if possible produce a negotiated peace. Wayne’s predecessors, Josiah Harmar and Arthur St. Clair, both suffered significant defeats against American Indian tribes in the Ohio Country, and Washington hoped that Wayne’s aggressive tactics would prove to be more successful. In May 1793, Wayne arrived with additional troops to supplement the Army of the Northwest, and positioned his army at Fort Washington, near present-day Cincinnati. Wayne repeatedly drilled his troops, hoping to avoid the horrific defeats that befell Harmar and St. Clair.
Thirty-three of Wayne’s men were killed and roughly one hundred wounded, while the American Indian Alliance lost approximately twice that number. Blue Jacket's (Shawnee) followers retreated to Fort Miami, hoping the British would provide them with protection and assistance against Wayne's army, however the British refused to let them into the fort. Wayne followed the warriors to the fort. Upon his arrival, Wayne ordered the British to evacuate the Northwest Territory, but the British commander refused, and Wayne decided to withdraw to Fort Greene Ville.
For the next year, Wayne stayed at Fort Greene Ville working to negotiate a treaty with Tribal leaders. The Tribal negotiators and leaders realized they were at a serious disadvantage with the settlers, especially because of Britain's refusal to support them. On August 3, 1795, representatives from the Myaamia, Wyandotte, Shawnee, Lenape, Ottawa, Ojibwa, Potawatomi, Kickapoo, Kaskaskias, Eel River, and Weas signed the Treaty of Greeneville. In signing the treaty, these tribes agreed to move to the northwestern part of what is now the State of Ohio. Championed as a treaty of friendship between American settlers and American Indian tribes the treaty did not subdue tension between American Indians and settlers, and Tribal leaders continued to fight to regain their lost land. Bloodshed dominated the region for the next twenty years as settlers and American Indians struggled for control. In the early 19th century, thousands of American Indian peoples from the Ohio Country and the Great Lakes region joined Tecumseh and his brother Tenskwatawa at Prophetstown, Indiana, where they were building a new Indian Alliance as a united force to stop the sale of Indian land.
The Fallen Timbers Battlefield Memorial Park is a National Historic Landmark and one of the historic sites co-managed by the Ohio History Connection and local officials. Located near the Maumee River, the park includes monuments honoring the warriors and soldiers who perished during the battle - including Major General Anthony Wayne, his soldiers, the American Indian leaders, and many warriors.

Can you please write a Todomomo fic that has Batkid!Momo?
Alright! (Though I'll be pulling bits of my personal Batman cannon, so sorry if bits feel wrong.)
MEETING THE WAYNES
Shoto arrived at the front of Wayne Manor, soon seeing Momo there to greet him. "Ah, Todoroki! Glad you could make it.", said Momo, before Shoto kissed her forehead and replied, "Thanks, Momo. So this is where you live? It looks...nice." Momo bowed in appreciation, before gesturing for him to come inside the Manor. As he complied, he entered the huge main hall, only to nearly get his head taken clean off by a shuriken courtesy of Damian Wayne.
"Damian, we have talked about throwing shuriken in the Manor!" Damian scoffed at Momo's yell, stating, "A true warrior must be ready for any possibility, even during the quietest of times." Before the two could bicker any longer, Dick Grayson leaped from above and grabbed Damian, saying, "Alright, that's enough. Come on, let's not scare off Momo's boyfriend."
Shoto stayed quiet until now, speaking up, "So...they're your brothers?" Momo nodded in slight embarrassment, replying, "These are Dick Grayson, AKA; Nightwing, and Damian Wayne, AKA; Robin. Sorry of they scared you." Shoto reassured her, "Oh, no, they just...suprised me." Momo breathed a sigh of relief, before Shoto spotted Alfred.
"Hello, Master Todoroki. I'm Alfred, the Wayne's butler. It is a pleasure to meet you." Shoto nodded and bowed in respect. Momo then proceeded to ask Shoto, "So, uh, who do you want to meet now?" Shoto thought for a minute, before asking, "What about that one with the white streak in his hair?"
"Oh, Jason? Yes, I think he's in the Batcave, last time I saw him." Alfred confirmed, "Yes, Master Momo. Cassandra and Duke have since arrived, so they will be there as well." Momo nodded, and showed Shoto to the library. Once there, Alfred activated the secret entrance to the Batcave, allowing them all to enter the elevator down.
"Look, all I'm saying is there's a reason why we don't use guns!", was what Shoto and Momo heard, before another voice spoke, "Ah ah, Bruce don't use guns. Heck, I'm pretty sure Cass has used guns before. Am I right, Cass?" No response. "Good talk." As the elevator stopped at the bottom, the three exited, allowing the three already there to see Momo and Shoto.
"Hey, you're Todoroki, right? Momo told us you were coming," said Jason, before Cass piped up, "She wouldn't shut up about you, either." Both Momo and Shoto turned red, with Momo hiding her face in embarrassment. Shoto just found Momo's embarrassment cute. "So, I'm Jason Todd, also known as Red Hood. This is Duke Thomas, AKA; The Signal. Great name, I know. And the quiet one over there is Cassandra Cain, AKA; Black Bat."
Shoto bowed, and asked, "So, I heard you say that you use guns, but...I thought that Batman has a no gun rule?" Jason chuckled to himself and corrected, "Yeah, we get that a bit, but that's actually wrong. He has a no kill rule. If it were a no gun rule, I don't think he'd be so close to Jim Gordon, y'know?" Shoto nodded in understanding, before he spotted another person nearly hogging the coffee machine. Momo also spotted it, and gave off an annoyed look.
"Tim..."
"Oh, uh, Momo, hey," Tim said in a worry, "I was just, uh, checking that it was working, and it is. So, uh..." Before Momo could respond, Tim rushed off with his coffee in hand, letting Momo let out a groan in annoyance. "I'm sorry about him, Todoroki. That's Tim Drake, AKA; Red Robin." Shoto hummed in response.
"So. You're Shoto Todoroki."
Shoto jumped forward in suprise, quickly turning around to see the head of the Wayne family.
Bruce Wayne, AKA; Batman.
"Um, yes, sir. And you must be Bruce Wayne?" Bruce nodded. "Ah, yes, Bruce, this is...my boyfriend." Bruce stared at Shoto for a few seconds, fear starting to creep into both him and Momo, before Bruce said, "I took note of your performance at the Sports Festival and the Final Exams. You're talented."
Bruce then offered a handshake, which Shoto took.
"Welcome to the Waynes."
THE END.
