On the one hand, all of those writers have written things I've liked - some of them quite a few, especially in Devin's case, where also a lot of the disproportionate reactions involve sexism.

On the other hand, "[Writer] isn't actually that bad" is too strong in the other direction because I still want to throw tomatoes at them a bit for some of their crap 🙃

I’m rewatching Young Justice again and in “Independence Day” I am just STRUCK by how well they introduce all four of the “sidekicks” and their respective mentors.

Like Robin is so at home fighting against villains. He cackles and he almost seems bored because he’s rather dismissive of Mr. Freeze and of the fight. He’s also fairly at ease with Batman, because I imagine not many other people, can tell Batman, “yeah, yeah” in that tone.

Speedy, on the other hand, is very serious. He’s the only one of the four who questions the villains’ motives and he is the one getting annoyed with Green Arrow for joking around.

Aqualad is also serious but in a much calm and less aggressive way. He absolutely oozes respect for Aquaman, even when his mentor teases him about being excited for the day ahead.

And Kid Flash? He’s going full-on impatient, excited puppy mode. He’s so impatient to get there that he allows himself to get slightly frozen in order to stop the fight as soon as possible. And his wide, excited grin is so telling of his generally positive personality

That scene where he says "I'm strangely comfortable with that", then Khaji says something we can't hear (because it's from the others' POV), and he starts yelling "Yes I am. Yes I am! Yes. I. Am!" Idk I just think it's funny

Watching them argue is funny, especially if it's from an outsider's perspective

The dpdc community has really latched onto the young justice cartoons portrayal of Kon and Clark. And I get it. A lot of y'all haven't even watched the actual show let alone read a Superman comic. So let me enlightened you on the much superior comic version of they're relationship.

They're canonically brothers! We should learn into this more! More brotherly bonding less cheap Clark hate!

The OG teen titans make me froth at the mouth because I love them so much. They are so freaking ridiculous.

These are the motherfuckers who realized President Kennedy got kidnapped and went to an alien planet to get him back and ended up leaving him there. Except Kennedy still died on Earth except it wasn't actually him it was an alien imposter. Then they just kept there mouths shut about it?!?! I love it.

Look at this poor baby. He's so stressed about it.

I am here for all of the ridiculous slang. I remember at one point when I was reading the letters to the writers, one teen sent on that basically said "You know, teenagers don't actually talk like this" and the writers responded with a "We know, the teen titans are just the coolest cats to ever jive" and I laughed out loud.

I love Young Justice too, but the sheer longevity that the original titans have beats them out. My favorite Dick Grayson episode from YJ was Homefront if you feel like watching. That episode takes Badass Normals to an awesome extreme.

Hard disagree the way the young justice cartoon said fuck it lets make sportsmaster into our bootleg deathstroke for absolutely no reason especially considering slade is also in the show is hilarious

Back in 2003, Warner Bros released an anthology called Cartoon Monsoon which allowed young filmmakers to essentially make pilot episodes shown directly to audiences with the most popular ones promised to get their own full fledged show. You can read more about it here. Unfortunately, none of the shows pitched in the anthology got picked up.

One of the pilots pitched was Zatanna and in a weird way it feels like a precursor to Zatanna's later animated appearances. Not only does she have violet hair in this short like her DCSHG counterpart, she is also a teenager fighting Klarion much like her YJ counterpart albeit no Dr Fate involved. The show also gives her a brother named Damon whom AFAIK has never appeared anywhere else. Overall it has a strong 'Sabrina The Teenage Witch' vibe which I think fits really well for Zatanna. And it was written by Paul Dini (imagine that).

Zatanna was voiced by Tara Strong with Steve Blum voicing Zatara. No other DC characters save for the Zataras and Klarion appear in this.
