I get why they got John Noble for Arkham Knight, for the gravitas and all but I much prefer Dino Andrade in Arkham Asylum, and he is straight up my favourite voice actor/actor for Scarecrow. Tho he got great material that has range too... I get what's going on in AK character arc wise so he's not having fun as much :/

Especially when they’re new in town. Poor guy didn’t even know the First Rule of Gotham, Selina mused. The mantra thugs from Bleake to the Bowery drilled into the new recruits:

Well, he’d know it now. Selina dragged his unconscious body behind a dumpster and slipped through a vent into Arkham Asylum’s administrative building. She was late. The meeting had started, ended maybe?

Scarecrow’s voice, sonorous yet raspy, carried along the vent like a snake slithering through dry grass.

Page Two

Another voice replied, young, angry and disguised. Footsteps then silence.

Worthless. Selina needed more. Names. Details. A damn date. Batman was more inclined to ignore the occasional heist when she had information he needed. And besides, it was fun having something to wield over him, seeing the pained, pleading expression on Gotham’s apex predator’s face when they were alone and she had the upper hand.

She peeked through the vent. Scarecrow’s office. No guards by the door. Good. Selina dropped down, twisting her body to land on all fours, and then-

An arc of electricity lashed out from the ceiling. Selina dodged it, all reflexes, and saw her attacker floating above the vent. Since when did Scarecrow have security drones?

Damn it Selina, she thought, plotting her exit over the sound of the alarm.

AK!Jason Todd x Catwoman’s protégé! Reader - Just for tonight, Kitty - Pt 3

Guess who's back, back again? There will be a few more parts as long as inspiration fuels me.

Content: 18+, MDNI... angst, fluff, alcohol use (why does that look like it's spelled wrong?? anyways), getting into some smut (finally) in this part. Nothing too serious yettttt 😏

Holding tight onto Jason, he grapples to the top of your penthouse. Rushing through the historical district at night always takes your breath away, especially with Jason. It’s been 5 years since you’ve enjoyed Gotham with him. It’s almost like the city is alive again.

Your feet gently land on the balcony, Jason landing behind you. Walking towards the entrance to the greenhouse, you input your code and open the door. The cold Gotham air quickly disappears as you step through the doorway. Jason’s right behind you, closing the door as he takes your plants in. Gifts from Ivy, ones that you spared no expense to help them thrive.

Finally, you enter your penthouse, descending your spiral staircase into your living area. The building, funnily enough, was severely damaged during one of the never-ending battles between Batman and his long list of rogues.

“I guess crime does pay, doesn’t it, Kitty?”

You turn around in time to watch him take off the mask. He places it out of sight, then his armor quickly meets the same fate. A bottle of your favorite drink calls your name. Two glasses join the party as you pour generous helpings of the beautifully colored liquid.

A quick laugh escapes from your lips as you turn to face him, your arm extending to hand him his glass, “It certainly has its perks, especially now I’ve branched out of Gotham.”

You take a sip, testing the flavor as you sink into the most comfortable couch money could buy. The glass is quickly placed on the table as you begin to take off your suit. Your gloves are the first thing to go, the fabric and hardware easily slipping off your arms.

Jason stays still, leaning against your countertop. He watches as your boots get tossed near the staircase. His eyes wander to the whip still attached to your waist before taking a big gulp of his drink. “That why you were in Venezuela?”

You take another gulp, relishing in your newfound warmth thanks to the alcohol. “Shopping for things to pay the bills. Might’ve made enough to retire.”

He laughs, “Do you really think you can retire? Once you’re in, you’re in for life.”

Leaning forward, you swirl your glass as he makes his way towards you. “Maybe, but it wouldn’t hurt to make it a part-time thing. Have some more time for myself, maybe for us?”

Jason finally sits down, leaving no space between the two of you. “After tomorrow night, I’m all yours.”

You gulp down the rest of your drink down, needing something to rid the thought of the near future. He places his drink next to yours before pulling you closer. Your thighs drag over his until you’re resting on top of them. He drags his fingers along the seams of your suit, goosebumps trailing behind his touch. You lean in closer, sighing as you take in his body heat.

“What are we going to do after this? Stay in Gotham?” you ask, your hand playing with the fabric on his chest. “We could go anywhere if we wanted to.”

His hand weaves in between yours, pulling it up for a kiss. “I don’t know, haven’t really thought of anything after this.”

You sigh, squeezing his hand. “No matter what we do, we always end up back here.”

“Hey.”

Your eyes flick up to his immediately. He adjusts himself, taking you with him as he places his back flush against the cushion. The movement sends a gasp out of your mouth, the friction setting you on fire. Your hands shoot out to stabilize yourself, using his shoulders to recompose yourself. You didn’t even register he unzipped the front of your suit until you felt his lips on you.

“Jay,” you whimper, back arching as he pulls you closer.

“This is where we met, Kitty, had all our little adventures,” he begins, leaving a trail of kisses and bruises as he travels upwards. “A little vacation every now and then would be nice, but…”

He bites your neck, stealing your breath away as he soothes the skin afterwards. Your grip on his shoulders loosens, overwhelmed by everything he’s doing to you.

“…Gotham’s home as long as you’re in it.”

You forgot how soft his lips were against yours.

Random Arkham Headcanons:

The reason Jason is so hunched over is because of the year he spent being tortured by Joker, physically damaging his posture.

Jason has unseen scars on other parts of his body, like the “J” on his cheek. He has a “Ha Ha” somewhere on him, and the Robin logo carved into his chest.

Jason was in the Asylum, during Arkham Asylum, but whenever Batman came close to finding him, Joker ordered one of this thugs to move him somewhere else.

The reason none of the Robin’s are mentioned at all in Arkham Asylum is because Batman had recently just lost Jason, (he thought he was dead) and because of this he didn’t want to speak to Tim or Dick, but is fine to talk with Barbara.

After Arkham Asylum, Ivy became less villainous, not really caring about crime and keeping safely to herself in Arkham City (using mind controlled thugs to get food of course.) After Protocol 10 she was disgusted by Strange’s efforts and the politicians who let it happen, and because of Batman stopping it and saving all the prisoners inside Ivy became more trusting of him, and more understanding. It’s why by Arkham Knight she doesn’t put up much of a fight against Scarecrow, GCPD or Batman, and even allies herself with the Dark Knight, knowing he truly isn’t like the others and trusting he will do the right thing.

Gordon knew Barbara was Batgirl, but didn’t know that she was Oracle. Even though he never said anything to his daughter about her secret life, he allowed her to continue, trusting her to be safe, whilst also silently hoping she’d give it up soon. After she was shot, he was deeply saddened for her but selfishly was glad this meant she wouldn’t work for Batman anymore, and he felt better knowing she was safer now than she was associating with him. It’s why when he discovers she was still working for Batman in AK, he felt deceived and cheated, lashing out at Batman for still letting his daughter keep on working for him in her condition. Eventually he learnt to trust his daughter more and grew to understand her decision and trust her to stay safe.

Before activating Knightfall, Batman returned to Panessa Studios to tell Harley about Ivy’s death. Harley was heartbroken, and blamed Batman for the deaths of the only two people she loved, before she cried for the rest of the night until GCPD came for her and discovered she had disappeared.

Selina discovered Ivy’s flower and realises she died after Batman freed her from Riddler. As repentance for killing her other plant, Selina took this one home with her to take care of.

Some unseen characters attended Wayne Manor when Batman “died”. The obvious one is Calendar Man, but also present was Red Hood, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Copperhead and Lady Shiva all attending in disguise or watching from the shadows. All of them were shocked when the manor blew up, except Catwoman, Red Hood and Shiva who weren’t surprised and didn’t even believe he’d really died at all.

Ok, so a friend of mine finally got his lazy ass into seeing RWBY... somehow, someway... it ended with both of us arguing about what game series would it croosover better, I had argued Overwatch, but the bastard had the nerve to say Valorant or Apex legends (disgusting I know)...

Because I mean come on... the AU essencially make itself...

Overwatch itself would have been an effort to make hunters more indenpendant, but for several factors (some of wich would have had Salems Pale, Lanky hands all over) would have been forced to disband.....

Talon would still be a thing, but their influence would be a lot less then what it would have been in the normal overwatch lore (hey, you try to climb the steps to world wide Infamy, when to Imortal wizards/witch are in a millenium long cold war with each other), however this dosent make them any less dangerous...

Ren and Nora would have been adopted into the Yamada clan, but after Genji "Death" I can see them leaving the clan and go to bacon to start over...

I like to think that Mercy would end up being a sort of Mother figure for Weiss and her brother (can't think of a reason as to why and how she would have ended up in that role)...

Reinhard would turn out to be Noras long distant Uncle...

Ruby and Tracer would have been childhood friends that would allways race to see who was the fastest (their tied as of now)

Pyrrah and Pharah would have gone to sactum togeter and have a sort of rival/frenamies thing going on....

Blake.... not so sure what she would do (and nether for Yang now that I think about it)

But for some strange reason I cant help but have the funny mental Image of both Jaune and Ashe somehow knowing each other before he got into bacon (specifeclly her being his ex) and their dinamic would be aking to that of old silver age batman and catwoman bit, where Jaune wants to put this crazy (yet really Hot) outlaw behind Bars and help her "walk" back into the right path, meanwhile Ashe would be anoyed yet amuised by Jaune constant interferance of her plans, that she cant help but want and turn that boy scout knight into the "darksied" and have him become her partner in crime... and poor Pyrrah is force to deal with the sexual tension that those two have for eatch other every time Jaune trys to stop her plans (safe to say Pyrrah hate Ashe guts with a passion... especially with all the risky cloth that she... just so happens to wear when Jaune is around)

So, Yeah what do you guys think, am I right that a RWBY X Overwatch AU would be good or is... ugh... Valorant a better option...

My personal AK!Riddler headcannons. Some of these play into my story so theyre biased, but I tried to keep those aspects out as much as I could.

Riddler has never had a seasoned/fully cooked meal. He mentions in the game he makes himself healthy meals, but the VA mentioned he probably doesnt eat much. The reason I think he doesnt properly cook his meals or seasons them is because hes so infacuated on Batman, he doesnt have time to be patient. He either completely undercooks his food, or overcooks it. On the rare occassion he cooks it correctly, its bland and tastes like nothing.

Firm believer hes petty and has thrown tantrums at the other Rogues. Hes extremely petty, so people dont mess with him much, but, when he throws tantrums he physically has to stop himself from looking like a fool. He only does it in front of Batman, but because hes projecting his fatherly issues on to him.

Riddler only lets people hes REALLY close to call him Eddie. He doesnt have friends but has goons?? So the closest to friendship would be Catwoman. He doesnt get upset when she calls him Eddie, which is his real name. Batman has to call him Nygma, Sir, Mr. Nygma. Could be because of his hinted relationship with her, who knows.

I believe that when Catwoman showed interest in Batman, Riddler did get really jealous. Its one thing to try to move on with another rogue, and another to date your arch nemesis. It was really a punch to his ego when he was pretty much replaced by Batman. The whole trial is about proving to Catwoman that Batman won't be there for her, so 👀👀. I don't really ship them, but its obvious theres something else going on between them.

Riddler definitely has Twitter, Instagram, or some other variation of that. Ever since his #CancelBatman thing, hes had to use bots to drown out the hate. Does he delete the website? Absolutely not. He needs to prove it doesn't get under his skin!

Due to Riddlers projections, I think riddler just wants his fake parental figure to play with him. Explain how a damn race car track is a riddle. Hes playing cars with his dad. Not that im infintizing him in any way- but- what other explanation is there for him to make a giant sewage racecar track without a riddle attached to it. Yes catwomans life is on the line, and theres other actual puzzles, so what the hell is this about?

I like to think that Riddler does have some admiration for the batman. He mentions to Batman that he should take care of his car more, so to some degree he admires the his tech.

Harley Quinn is the only one thats been able to beat Riddler at chess. No one else played with him, but after that he stopped wanting to prove his intellectual superiority among the Rogues. No one really cares about that except him and it keeps him up at night.

Scarecrow has a soft spot for him. Yes he still treats him like he would everyone else, but he just treats him slightly better than everyone else.

Riddler probably has a childhood hamster that died in a horrific way. He loves how hamsters look but hates the idea of owning one from how traumatizing it was. Not that he abused his hamster or anything, from what I've read they tend to die horrible ways for no reason.

I think he loves the little group of people that stan him, but finds them extreamely annoying. Yes, he enjoys the love and attention, but when fangirls 16 year olds claim to be his girlfriend, or grown women claim to be his wife? Not so much. He also doesnt like when his fans plan an attack and try to give Riddler credit for some minor idiotic plan. It hurts his reputation.

He hates being around large crowds of people. He hates being around stupid people, unless the attention is for him then he doesn't mind.

Probably knows the court of owls exists, but thinks theyre full of bologney.

Enjoys hot chocolate more than coffee, but this one was obvious.

He probably tried making a robot family at some point, with a mom robot, dad robot, and brother robot. It didnt work out

Workplace is a mess, but its his mess. He knows where everything is.

He hates the idea of being alone, but does nothing about it. He probably has cried himself to sleep, not only from Batmans trauma, but also his issues that he can't fix.

Lgbt supporter. Batman villains are queer coded, and has shown he has two lesbian henchmen, so I don't think he'd have a reason to be homophobic.

Disliked Joker the most out of the Rogues. Not only because of the spotlight hed get, but because he was rude to him a few times.

Asexual. Never been interested in sex, never will be, unless its for reproduction purposes, but even then he wont get into bed with anyone. He wants his genes to be passed down, but it would be with someone equally smart that fits his description of a perfect woman, but no icky stuff. He'll be a sperm donor but thats as far as it will get.

Not used to being physical. Hates being hugged, touched, or slightly bumped into. He doesnt seem to get much physical contact with anyone aside from metal and some occasional firm handshakes.

to add to that, his fight or flight mode activated once when Harley jumped on his back trying to surprise him. He gave her a black eye and immidiately appologized. joker was still alive.

has had girlfriends before, never liked any of them.

Riddler secretly calls Scarecrow his work best friend.

Doesn't do riddles during Rogues meetings because no one answers him.

I really had to squeeze my brain to get this out, but I cannot wait for maybe part 3 👀? I have some ideas revolving around a fic or two for Gotham Knights! Jason. We shall see.

It feels like you’re being puppeteered, every movement meticulously controlled by strings and sticks. It almost feels like last Tuesday. You had infiltrated Star Labs to steal some new tech designs, especially when Batman was distracted by Catwoman.

Security is nothing compared to your skill, even if you’re not completely yourself. It takes a bit longer than you’d prefer, but you finally make it to Stagg’s office.

Adjusting your goggles, you scan the area for anything that could spoil your fun. One by one, you check off your mental list until you clear the room. Most rich CEOs usually hide their deepest darkest secrets, not wanting an inkling of them to be discovered. Not Stagg, though, you know his type.

Walking around the room, your eyes scan over the décor. A man like Stagg likes to be reminded of his accomplishments. The publicity photos, front page Gotham Gazette articles, the whole nostalgic works. Everything seems to stroke his ego one way or another, but then you finally see what you’re looking for. At first, it seems like a piece of trash thrown onto a table. No, it’s the focal point, the center of it all.

You scan over the structure before carefully opening it. A flash drive appears, absolutely begging to be taken away from this place. Readying yourself, you snag the drive and place the top back on.  Just as you’re about to head to the door, you hear footsteps approaching. You immediately head for the window, quickly dismantling the alarm as you pry a panel open.

Closing it just in time, you push yourself up against the exterior of the building. Letting out a breath, you move further away from the window and jump. Falling with the rain, you crack your whip and swing off a flagpole. The momentum sends you buildings away from Stagg Enterprises, finally completing what Jason… what the Arkham Knight ordered you to do.

“It’s done.”

Despite the job being done and over with, you still have no control over yourself. Your body keeps moving, heading deeper and deeper into parts of the city you’ve never even seen. Landing softly in an alleyway, your body heads straight towards the end of it. Even your sensors fail to pick anything out of the ordinary. Why has he brought you here?

You hear him land behind you after a few moments. Turning around, you move to hand him the flash drive. The Knight acknowledges it with a head tilt before taking it from you. It disappears in one of his pockets. As soon as his hands are free, he presses a button on his wrist.

You tear your helmet off as soon as your body catches up with your mind. Rage builds into your chest as you lash out at him. He can’t prevent your claws from screeching along his armor until you finally find skin.

“You just come back from the dead and USE ME?!” you scream, grunting as he grabs your arm and twists it behind your back.

You try to lash out with your free arm, but he quickly dodges the attack. Before you know it, your back is against the cold brick wall of the alleyway. One hand holds yours above your head, the other trails across your cheek to wipe away rogue tears.

“They wanted me to kill you, this was the only option,” Jason reveals, using his spare hand to open the front of his mask. “I-I couldn’t do it.”

“Why are you doing this, Jay?” you beg, sick of the mind games that he’s putting you through.

“Batman.” A wave of cold washes over you at his tone, riddled with a hatred you’ve never seen before. “He left me to die, (Y/N), he deserves to die for what he’s done.”

“Jay, he searched for you. We all did, but when we saw him shoot you, we thought you were dead,” you whisper, flinching as he leans closer to your face.

“You did find me, though, in Venezuela,” he growls, leaning closer until his helm digs into your skin. “Do you know how hard it was to let you leave? I couldn’t believe my girl finally found me.”

“What are you going to do now that you have me?” you ask, staring into his cold blue eyes. “Lock me away as you take over Gotham with your buddies?”

His eyes darkened at the suggestion. “I don’t want to lose you again.”

You shake your head, more tears escaping from your eyes, “I lost you, Jay, really lost you. I just got you back and you’re just going to do it all over again.”

He remains silent, unsure how to respond. Jay slowly leans in, his lips ghosting over yours before lightly kissing you. Your resolve shatters quickly, leaning into the kiss and giving in to your desires. You can’t lose him again.

He releases your hands, abandoning them to grasp your waist and yank you closer. The softness of the kiss disappears, desperation forcing the kiss to become feral. Both of you break away to breathe, taking each other in as you recover.

“Can we pretend, just for tonight, Kitty?” Jason asks, his eyes desperately pleading you to agree. “I can’t stop what’s in motion, but I’ll explain everything.”

Fuck it.

“Just for tonight, Birdy.”

Velvet’s Guide to Understanding the AUs I Work On (Arkham Edition)

(IMPORTANT NOTE: This wouldn’t be possible without my wonderful boyfriend @reallolattack!! He’s the brains behind a lot of the ideas present here and he writes a lot of the major characters)

Since there’s a lot to talk about, I’ll split this into two posts; the one focusing on this AU, and the other focusing on the second one; Deep-Rooted.

With that being said, let’s get started!

Arkham Extended

(The temp title that sorta just stuck and now we can’t think of anything else)

Anyway, what is it about? Well, I have no goddamn clue but I shall tell you anyway

Extended is set in a slightly altered Arkhamverse (Think of it as a rewrite of Knight that goes extra apeshit - because that’s exactly what it is) where two complete buffoons gain control of the canon and do whatever we want with it (Look, don’t expect much of this to be coherent lmao)

Now the fun part: Change! What’s different? Weellll:

Tim has been completely redesigned because Arkham Tim is not Tim as far as I’m concerned. 

Tim and Barbara are no longer dating, because.. eugh. Was not a big fan of that whole thing in AK.

There are some extra arcs Post-Scarecrow that allow for some extra one-on-one character scenes involving Bruce and his allies.

Everything is made like ten times worse for Jason :)

And since I had the power to.. I may have made a Matter of Family take place while Jason’s Robin. Mostly because it should’ve been him in that DLC and so I can make almost everything that happens there hurt ten times more

A lot of these will be out of context, but I do have some moments I’d like to share:

Selina almost believes she’s having some kind of fever dream when Eddie (Why is he here. She doesn’t want his company. Go away.) ascends into the room using the one of the other small platforms that she’s not currently occupying.

What kind of an orphanage is this?

She doesn’t try to hide her irritation as she rolls back over, facing the wall instead of Eddie - because looking at peeling paint and mold is much more appealing than his face. - Written by me

God, it's cramped in here. Bruce figured that the new suit's improved flexibility factor would make vent stealth less of a hassle, but he didn't factor in the actual size of these things. Flexibility can only do so much when you're locked in a box.

"Watch your keister in there, Bats. It's cramped up here as well! All these Red Army Men thinking they own our city. We'll show 'em, won't we? Together."

...the switch to open the shutter door should be in this next room. Then, the Batmobile can neutralize this room and the militia will be out of an armory. He'll expect some resistance, but it's nothing that he can't handle. - Written by @reallolattack
