When dating a yautja, its is a virtue to not scare easily

With as tall, heavy, and loud as they are, these skilled hunters are very quiet when they want to be

Though they are aware of you being a prey animal. From the moment they first meet you, your yautja was aware of your small size, weaker body, and strong fear instincts

And they have been aware of that every day since

They are constantly adjusting their body, aware of their strength, and policing their noise, all in an attempt not to scare, or God forbid hurt you

But one day they got careless

They were bent out of shape about something. It wasn't important. What was is that they needed to let off some steam

Heading to their hunting room they took their frustration out on a reinforced wall. But failed to realise that the door Haden't fully closed

Your empathetic human heart had seen them storm past you in frustration and so wanted to offer support and affection. But you nearly fell over when the loud metallic clanging began ringing though the hallway

Your body reacted before you did, you began to shake, your eyes dilated and heart rate rose, your breathing became rapid and shallow. And your yautja noticed immediately

They rushed to you, only for you to recoil from them. They pulled back, stumbling and falling they hit the ground hard

You both stared at eachother. Silent and unmoving. Then you bagan to sob

You didn't want to, you weren't even sure why you were crying. You tried to get yourself to stop but the tears kept flowing.

Your yautja moved very carefuly. They allowed their claws to clack against the ground so that you knew they were approaching. They rested a hand on your foot. When you didn't pull away they moved their hand slowly and carefully up your leg. Pausing at your knee.

You let out a shaky breath as your tears finaly stopped. Your yautja moved closer. Snaking their hand around your waist to the small of your back, they finaly settled themselves on the floor next to you.

"Hooman," they whispered almost too quietly to hear.

"I'm sorry," you choked.

"No." Their voice was sturn, but still kind. "I am. I never mean to scare, you" they spoke slowly and thoughtfully

You nuzzled up to their chest, relishing in their company. You felt safe again. You could never be afraid of them, it was just your fear instincts getting the better of you

After that your yautja was even more careful around you. And alwase ensured to take out their anger and aggression far away from you
