One outcome I didn't expect from an outing with coworkers at a bar after a long week was an extreme state of existential dread, but here I am

#money and the housing crisis and gun violence and schooling and abuse was all discussed #and i am sat here now like 👁️👄👁️#okay now I'm left to the weekend with all of that on my mind #like to be clear the reason why it's making me have extistential dread is that they all discussed how we don't make enough money #and that you have to be altruistic to work here bc no one working here will be rich ever #like they're all barely making it #and now im like okay well im 22 and ive got my whole future ahead of me #i want to keep working at habitat but with all of the costs everywhere going up and my paycheck staying down......#can i even do it?#and what was also discussed was the possibility that i myself could possibly qualify to be a habitat homeowner so im like.....#okay should i do that? then I'd own a house. what the heck...#and it would embarrass my mom bc to qualify I'd have to show them how bad my living situation is... aka her house #and it is bad #it's bad enough that i could possibly qualify to be a homeowner #so like should i do that? do i want to own a house? do i want to embarrass my mom?#idk.#all of this is too much for tonight #i should just go to bed

please i love you i'm begging you bring back suspension of disbelief bring back trusting the audience like. i cannot handle any more dialogue that sounds like a legal document. "hello, i am here to talk to you about the incident from a few minutes ago, because i feel you might be unwell, and i am invested in your personal wellbeing." "thank you, i am unwell because the incident was hurtful to me due to my childhood, which was bad." I CANT!!!!

do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!
