How about some road trip headcanons for Riddler, Harley Quinn, Anarky and Mad Hatter?

Road Trip

Riddler

He's the guy who refuses to use map when GPS takes you into weird directions.

"Everything is fine, I created it."

Refuses to ask for directions.

Very peculiar about stopping in between the destination because he doesn't want to waste time on something boring.

Absolutely asks S/O riddles during the ride and S/O does the same. Also some fun facts.

If something happens to the car, he might know how to fix it but I hope it's not tire. It will take an hour with his strength.

Harley Quinn

Most chaotic trip you have ever experienced.

She back whatever she thinks will be fun to in the meantime of driving, like bazooka, board games. If she sees yellow car S/O should be ready for a punch.

Her hyenas are going with her, there's no discussion. Unless it's a romantic trip, then maybe she leaves them with Ivy.

Radio is on full blast and there will be singing.

Pretty fun experience.

Arkham! Anarky

He wasn't outside of Gotham really so it's pretty exciting.

Makes preparation, so nothing if forgotten. Water, food, something for entertainment.

He doesn't have a license to drive, so either S/O drives or they're hiding from cops.

Honesty, he's calmer now that out of Gotham where crime isn't committed all the time. But also sour. Why can't Gotham be like this?

When he comes back, he is even more fired up about cleaning the city.

Mad Hatter

So happy! He probably brings more than needed and S/O has to clean it.

"Of course we need tea set! What if we got thristy?

Cannot sleep noght before so S/O drives the car first while she sleeps in backseat. At least he brought pillows.

Definitely talks through the ride about whatever topics got into his head.

Might listen to podcasts if his voice throat gets tired.

He sees biggest ball of yarn advertised? He stops and gets a photo there. A dinner? Food would be nice.

If S/O doesn't stop him the trip is gonna take longer than they thought.

But it's never gonna be boring. And the memories from photos will remind them off that.

iirc, when the game first debuted, the consensus on Tumblr was that it was Jason. And the Wiki confirms:

The anarchist A was scrawled on the table in Pauli's Diner during the game's opening, and the smoking patron that was confronted by Officer Owens wore an outfit that was similar to Anarky's, although the figure is later revealed to be the Arkham Knight.*

(*I don’t remember this reveal in the game. Perhaps @scaryscarecrows can confirm?)

My problem is that the news report of the incident seems to have a photo of the perp, who looks nothing like Jason:

Maybe that's supposed to only be a police sketch or artist rendition? If everyone was tripping on fear toxin it would make sense for the eyewitness accounts to be inaccurate.

If you thought abt this, what Peccantum's voice and manner of speaking sound like? Maybe even references? In my head i usually read characters' lines with their voices, as much as i know and can imagine them, so caught myself on unintentionally sort of headcanonig his voice while rereading comics, and since i also can't "give" my own voice to characters who aren't my self-insert OCs, now i need to know what canonically imagine while reading^^"

Also, on the other note, are you ok with idea of fanart of him? :0 in general and mb with interactions with others OCs? (nothing nsfw and no shipping ofc lol)

Who is Peccantum?

Yes! Fanart is the highest compliment I can ever receive when it comes to my characters and stories!!!!! I'd love to see him interacting with anyone/anything! I have an RP blog that I used to run for him, so I'm absolutely okay with him interacting with others!

Funnily enough, I have actually put some thought into how Peccantum would sound! It's hard to describe audio with text but I'll do my best!

I'm gonna use Matt Mercer as the example because his normal voice is on the range of what I think Peccantum's would be. Not Matt's deep voice either, but more like his performances as Anarky (Arkham Origins) or Aiden (Minecraft Story Mode). A higher tone but not obnoxiously so.

Peccantum comes from the Rockies in America, so no strong accent. The only notable thing is that he's gentle with his consonants and doesn't emphasize them. He also tends to stutter when he gets nervous/stressed.

A lot of those wikis will describe him as psychotic and violent and uncaring of who he hurts but like. He's a really nice guy. Evacuate a building of innocent factory workers before he explodes it nice.

He gets hit with fear toxin in Shadow of the Bat, and his nightmare is the world falling apart because of pollution and judicial corruption and stuff and he's devastated for the sake of everyone else. He's very self sacrificial

He was introduced to comics not long after Tim Drake was. Also with the intention of "we could make this kid Robin" You literally have a thought bubble of Batman thinking about it when Gordon asks

Anarky is a man for the people. He starts out by reading and responding to residential complaints in the paper. He threatens the mayor to cut down on emmissions pollution(by only having public transport) and housing all of the homeless within a day(?), or else he'll blow up the bridge

He will quite literally give someone the shirt off his back

Batman doesn't really like Other Vigilantes in Gotham that he can't directly monitor himself, but he gives Anarky his blessing(lol) in Through the Keyhole, I believe

Lonnie doesn't even start as Anarky. He starts as Moneyspider. Siphoning money from the rich, creating Swiss bank accounts, and "donating" the money over seas to poor farmers in... Cambodia? I don't remember. But he sent a buncha people 1,000-10,000(? it's been a while)

Hell, Anarky and Ollie's Green Arrow get along. They've worked together a few times. That exploding factory? GA helped with that

If I remember correctly, Lonnie killed Very Few people and for good reason. I.E. When Ulysses Armstrong usurps the name. Which... Is probably where shows and other media take inspiration from... But Ulysses just uses the name Anarky for meaningless chaos and destruction. He ends up trhing to kill all of Gotham's gangs during the gang war. It's a Whole Thing. And then, I believe Lonnie kills him(?) because Ulysses literally murdered 25ish people while using Anarky as a face. Again. It's a Whole Thing, lol

Yeah. Lonnie Machin is great, I love him and so do several others. If you scroll through his tag, you'll see us going ballistic and have some character analysis. He even has a couple solo runs as Anarky! Tumblr user azbats has a phenomenal reading guide for him! :3

I LOVE how you explained this, firstly. That was such an interesting read. Second, I’ve not actually seen green arrow!! Just clips! I was mainly going off what I remember from the Arkham games, and tbh I don’t even know if I finished the anarky mission haha. It nevertheless, I kinda wanna learn more!! He sounds super cool! I have like, a whole comic about stopping exploitation so color me intrigued!! He sounds like a super cool guy?? And yeah I didn’t get that at ALL from what I saw from the CW, but I’ve heard they’re notorious for taking a character and butchering them so I believe it.

Lonnie Machin (Anarky)

From: Prelude to the Wedding: Red Hood vs. Anarky. New 52/Prime Earth(?) Context: Anarky attempts to thwart Catwoman’s bachelorette party (it was a lead-up to the Bruce/Selina fail wedding) and Jason Todd attempts to stop him.

Teams up with fascists to ruin Selina’s outing by sowing violence, chaos, and destruction in a large crowd of people because the Joker played on his desire for a father figure.

Lonnie, prior to the reboot, was conceived as and most prominently depicted as a politically left-anarchist character until his creator and primary writer, Alan Grant, began getting into Randian Neo-Tech Objectivism and projected it onto Lonnie as Lonnie was always his political mouthpiece. However, despite Lonnie's political sway going from more anarcho-communist to objectivist, he was always a character who had near-unwavering, passionate stances on social issues. He considered anyone who preyed on the common man, or "enemies of the people", to be *his* enemies, and he often came at this from a leftist point of view. He was a strong supporter of social justice for the oppressed, and it was his sorrow and outrage at oppression that led him to take up vigilantism. He despised fascism and considered anyone who used initiatory violence against others to be opposed to him. To Lonnie, anarchism is a philosophy of total freedom from oppression, self-determination, and helping your fellow man, not 'chaos'.

He was also *very* anti-gun and anti-weapon of mass destruction. Whenever he used bombs, they were often smoke bombs or paint bombs. On the one single occasion he used actual bombs to blow up a munitions factory, he evacuated everyone in the building before it blew up, as he cares for the lives of innocents and does not kill. The one single time that it is implied that he killed, his victim was a man who blew up 20+ innocent people in a public setting via bombing and used him as a scapegoat. He has said before that he 'can't let innocent people die because of him'. He holds to this even if he can be clumsy in his methods. When he once experienced a machine-induced dream in which Gotham City descended into fiery chaos because of his well-intentioned actions, he had a crying breakdown.

And, on the Joker - in his 1999 solo series, there is a plot point that is left open-ended that implies the Joker could be Lonnie's biological father, as he is an adoptee. This was done to cement Lonnie into the Batman mythos, as his creators Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle cared a lot about him. When editors disapproved of this, they let Grant write it on the condition that he would prove it wrong later on, but after the Joker issue the series was canceled, and so for all intents and purposes, it was not meant to be lasting 'canon'. Lonnie has been known to hate the Gotham Rogues, as he considers their actions against the people of the city to be completely antithetical to his views and ideals, some of the most important things to him. When he thought that the Joker could've been his father, he had a breakdown. He visited Arkham in order to find out and the Joker briefly played on his (at the time, a 16 year old child) yearning to figure out his parentage in the wake of his adoptive parents' implied death (with some genetic determinism 'does this mean i'll be a "madman" too? involved, but, eugh), but once the Joker tried to use Lonnie to help him break out of Arkham, Lonnie quickly acted against him to prevent his escape. It is said in a (dubiously canon) Batman encyclopedia that the crisis that the Joker could have been his father put him through caused him to self-isolate even harder than he normally does for a while until Cassie Sandsmark's speech during YJ: Sins of Youth inspired him back onto the field. Needless to say, he hates the Joker, and his hatred for the Joker's actions was enough to override his want for a parental figure.

In the post-reboot continuity, Lonnie is no longer an adoptee and his single mother would tell him the Joker was his 'real father' and would come and get him if he misbehaved. He began writing letters to the Joker, who eventually tried to get Lonnie to 'impress' him by giving Batman a 'rehearsal' before his wedding. Lonnie did this by gathering militant anti-feminist terrorists and gun nuts alongside leftists and anti-fascists in one place in order to get them to fight each other and cause 'blood, smoke, and chaos.'

Your blog is very interesting, keep up the good work! Also is it ok if you do riddler, scarecrow, and mad hatter (seperately) who has a childhood friend who protects them cuz they have high morals and "a true hero never leaves the helpless behind." Quote they just made.

S/o has adhd (like me) so despite they're not as smart as them, they would praise them and even their inventions cuz they think it's cool. Their s/o wanted to be a hero growing up despite it sound ridiculous but that doesn't stop them from achieving their dream.

Then they all grown up and they became a villain while s/o became a new hero in gotham city and sometimes team up with batman cuz they think his cool. So what happens if they realize it's their childhood friend due to their attitude, having difficulty on solving things that only they could understand, and their cheerful, silly yet strong hearted nature. It's ok if you don't want to.

Aww, it's so sad. I honesty love this trope. Also S/O means Significant Other so I'm not sure if you wants platonic or not. I'll try to make it so you can read it either way.

Scarecrow

They were only good thing about his childhood, he hung out with them when he could.

He wanted to learn more about their ADHD, it fascinated him how it effects Y/N.

It might be partly why he got into psychology.

Their cheerful attitude make him smile after great granny punished him.

Still doesn't think they would go far with this ideology, especially the more he grown up and saw more.

Still couldn't help missing them.

And the fact that new hero acted like them really played tricks with his brain. Especially since he thought they were too familiar.

Couldn't believe it was them.

Ha. Of course they would end up on opposite sides.

He will give them a chance to back away. For the old times sake.

Ah, sweet Y/N. He always remembers them fondly.

They were only ones to listen to his ramblings. They pulled pranks on his bullies life was good.

He thinks their ideology wasn't really working but he wouldn't say bad things about them.

When the new hero showed he thought they were similar to his old friend so he got soft spot for them. Then he realized they were TOO similar.

Basically stalks them and get's every info he can get and soon he figures it out.

Isn't sure how to react. Decides to meet them face to face to say hi.

They were probably reason why he started the whole Anarky thing.

He looked up to them, would like to be hero with them. They could be partners.

other than joker, mr freeze probably has the best arc of all the villains in Arkham. Maybe Ras as well though a lot of his influence is subtextual (esp as he literally isnt himself IN Origins). i love freeze's story, and actually one of the reasons i also enjoy him in gotham knights is that they went the totally opposite direction with him. I appreciate that, as a spiritual successor, to make such a crucial and interesting change. Its a good interaction. Also riddlers arc when you include Origins is interesting. Tho tbh ive never done riddler stuff in Knight (im about to) so i cant actually comment on his full character there. I ignored him lol.
