“Okay…” Pandora thought for a moment, tapping her chin, before she lit up. “Gayest thing you’ve ever done. Go!”

Regulus rolled his eyes. “I am gay,” he scoffed.

“Still,” Pandora insisted, crossing her arms and sinking farther into the couch he was inhabiting, by far the most comfortable one in the small flat Barty, Evan, and Regulus shared. “Most of us are. The point is to make fun of ourselves.”

“Fine,” Regulus sighed. “I painted my nails while watching Drag Race once. That’s…pretty gay,” he shrugged. “Cas?”

“I made a boob-shaped mug in pottery class in year 11,” Dorcas replied, grinning. “The teacher was not amused.”

“I once convinced myself that it was normal to want to snog the life out of the girl I hated, because I hated her that much,” Marlene offered, laughing.

“‘Course, she did. And now she’s dating her,” Dorcas piped up proudly, pulling Marlene in for a kiss.

All eyes turned to Barty and Evan, the only self-proclaimed straight ones in the group. Barty spoke first. “Evan,” he said simply, his voice casual as could be.

“Wait–what?” Dorcas asked, voice incredulous. 

“I did Evan. It was pretty gay,” Barty clarified, shrugging. Evan just nodded in agreement, face blank.

Regulus gaped, along with everyone else. “You two have…?” 

“Yeah. What, like…twenty times, now?” Barty said, turning to Evan, who nodded again, biting at his cuticle. “It’s bloody brilliant, really. Much better than any girl I’ve been with, don’t you agree, Rosie?”

“Hmm.”

“Think we’ll just be fucking each other from now on,” Barty said bluntly, nodding to himself like this wasn’t earth-shattering information for the whole group.

Regulus let out a puff of air. “So you’re like, da–?”

But Dorcas cut him off with a ‘shhhhht!’ and a fierce look, clearly telling him to shut up. They’d all been waiting for Barty and Evan to figure their shit out for years, and it seemed that she thought asking if they were dating was pushing them too far at one time. And none of them wanted the two to backslide into one of their many fights. “Nevermind,” he grumbled, rolling his eyes. “Yeah. That’s very gay. Especially for two, erm, straight people. You win.”

Hooting and cheering, Barty and Evan smugly gave each other high-fives while everyone else chuckled to themselves. Idiots.

The start of many relationships happened in the hospital wing

People are hurt, adrenaline is running high, teenagers are horny and pathetic. Of course they're going to confesses their forbidden love

Barty was Regulus' first friend, ignoring how collected the other boy was, always dragging him into his antics. He helped him to explore himself and do things he never would have done without that extra reassurance.

Pandora was Regulus' platonic soulmate. She knew how to calm him, they shared everything, even things nobody else knew.

Evan was simply there. At first. Barty's boyfriend, Pandora's brother. He just existed in the same circle, nothing more, until an incident where Evan showed his ferocious loyalty and Regulus truly saw him.

And Dorcas was someone who matched his intellect, challenging him to work harder. They had a small friendly rivalry, where they encouraged one another to do the best they could. She understood his ambition more than anyone, having so much herself.

They fit together perfectly. Albeit a bit messy when you delved into the nature of their relationships, but perfect nonetheless. Regulus couldn't have asked for a better family.

Dorcas: ...Your what?

Evan: Is he saying friends?

Pandora: I think he's being sarcastic.

Barty: No, no , no this is delirium. He's cracked from being awake all night. Heeey Reg😃 All your friends are in this room.

Regulus: I have other friends. You asked me to make new friends and I did😒 It was a task and I completed a task.

Dorcas: *coughing. Your brother and your boyfriend don't count.

Pandora: That's so great! I can't wait to meet all of them.

Barty: Aww, you listened to me! I'm so proud of you.

Barty started an obnoxious grouphug that Regulus is in the middle of and trying to wiggle them off

Like, wdym Rita, Ted, Alice, Remus and James didn't have a Dating-A-Black-Family-Member group??? Wdym Barty and Lily didn't bond over dating Rosier siblings???? What do you MEAN all of this chaotic ass group didn't meet up for the holidays each time???

Lily: she loves to run her hands all over her body every night before falling asleep (she sleeps naked), just touching her skin, her arms, her belly, her legs

Peter: he loves to pass floss in between his teeth

James: he loves licking his hands when they got the salted taste

Mary: she loves when her upper eyelashes and her lower eyelashes get tangled at the corner of her eyes and she gets to separate them

Marlene: she loves when her nails are too long again because it means she gets to cut them, she’d cut her nails every day if she could

Dorcas: she loves when she gets (brief) tinnitus, it silences the world

Regulus: he loves when he drinks water that is so cold that he can feel it in his organs

Pandora: she loves when she catches a cold because all she can think about is her immune system getting stronger

Alice: she loves to wash her belly button and her ears

Bellatrix: she loves when her lips are chapped so she can ‘strech’ them and feel the wounds open

Are there any marauders era characters that are commonly headcanoned as hufflepuffs?

I've read so many marauders era fics and I've noticed that most of the characters are either gryffindore or slytherin with a few ravenclaws mixed in. But I don't think I've seen any hufflepuffs in any of the fics I've read beyond nameless background characters.

Maybe I'm just not reading the right fics?

I just need more hufflepuff representation in my life.
