I just had an idea for a batman au permutation
Reverse robins au where their current physical ages are reversed, but the order they were born is NOT reversed
So like Jason still dies and comes back (could still be for Robin reasons or could be for Crime Alley reasons) except he’s been dead for four years, and everyone else has aged in that time while he has’t aged a day.
Dick gets taken by the court of owls and becomes immortal unaging prepubescent child until the Batfam rescue him find a way to make him age normally again so he is not permanently stuck being babey.
Damian was a test tube baby like some versions of canon, except the assassins really didn’t want to deal with a small child, so they just kept the accelerated aging on until they could plop out a newly formed 12 year old infant.
Tim.
So Dami would look 24 but only have the lived experience of 12 of those years
Tim would be 17
Jason would be 15 in both looks and mind, but be born 19 years ago
Dick would have been born 24 years ago and have up to that many years of memory (depending on how long the Court kept him comatose), but permanently has the appearance, mindset, and undeveloped brain of a 12 year old.

Drastic Measures- Part 5
@daminette-december2019-2020
~Sweater~
Shoves romance to the side and shoves friendship in your face!!!
Ao3
First< Previous > Next
----------
“Marinette,” Adrien whines as she opens the curtain the second they get back, “Sleep,”
“Just a minute, I want to design Damian something,” Marinette takes up residence at the desk, throwing open her sketchbook, “I will be friends with him!”
“Wasn't he kind of a jerk to you?” Adrien flops onto the bed, Plagg rig after him, "I think we should go back to that point, maybe sleep on it,"
“You were a jerk too~” Marinette sing-songs finishing up a rough sketch of a sweater.
“I was trying to get the gum off your seat!” Adrien slams his hands down.
“Sure you were~”
“Mariiiiiii,” Adrien collapses back into the bed covers, muffling his whining.
“Come on you,” Marinette collects her sketchbook, “Come get material with me,”
“No, it’s time to sleep,”
“It’s midday,”
“Your point?”
"Ok, Plagg 2.0 should I get you some camembert while I'm out too?"
"I'm up!" Adrien sits bolt upright, "Never call me that again,"
Marinette ends up dragging Adrien out of the mansion he pouts as Alfred delivers them into the city she thanks him profusely.
“We were just in the city why didn’t you pick up fabric then?” Adrien walks by her side down the street.
“Because I’m stuck between 2 concepts and I need to see the fabric before going forward,” Marinette bounces along looking through the windows there are quite a few craft shops in the area which suits her just fine.
“Please don’t run off,” Adrien gently holds her sleeve, “Marinette this city…”
“It’s filled with a dark energy,” Marinette agrees, even in this nicer area had something ominous hanging over it, “It’s like it’s seeped into the city’s very bones,”
“And the Akuma aren’t helping things,” A child across the street starts crying and they both instinctively lookout.
“On the plus side at least hawkmoth doesn't send Akuma after every little thing,” Marinette forces herself to relax, moving on as the kids parents comfort them.
“On the downside, he sends them after emotions that are a lot worse,” Adrien follows along into a store as Marinette filters through the shelves.
“Maybe but we can handle this,” Marinette absent-mindedly raises her fist, meeting Adreins, “Do you think I should make something for everyone, you know as a thank you?”
“I haven't gotten them anything,” Adrien takes the armful of fabric Marinette passes him as she brings out her sketchbook to select old designs.
“I’ll handle the making,” Marinette ticks off a vest she thinks with be perfect for Bruce, “And you handle the finances,”
“I stole my father's credit card,” Adrien says with a grin, “He’ll probably find out where I am soon anyway so might as well start using it,”
“In that case,” Marinette pulls out a roll of incredibly expensive fabric, “We also need new phones,”
“And we should go out for lunch,”
“Get our hair done?” Marinette adds, looking at her half hacked off hair “I still need to fix mine from this,”
“I was thinking our room could use a chair?”
“And the bookshelf is looking a bit empty,”
“A nice expensive rug would really liven up the room,”
“Would it be completely inappropriate to get a motorcycle?”
“Yes,” Adrien agrees, “Let's do it,”
They stop to get new phones first, having destroyed their old ones when they ran away. Adrien finds the most expensive restaurant in town, but it's on the far end so they stop to get a motorcycle first.
“I didn’t know you could ride,” Adrien gestures for the waiter in their private room, “Yes can I please have the duck?”
“My Nona taught me,” Marinette sips at the most expensive drink she can legally buy, “I thought you hated duck?”
“Oh I do,” Adrien grins, which drops when his phone starts ringing, “How did he even get this number?”
Marinette looks over his shoulder to see Gabriel trying to call. Adrien purposefully hangs up rolling his eyes.
“We should go do our hair next,” Adrien leans over the table with a manic grin, ”I was thinking of dying it hot pink,”
“Love the concept,” Marinette cringes at the very thought, “But the execution is flawed, you need to dye it a color you actually like not one just to spite your father otherwise he's still just controlling your life, just in a different way,”
“You're right,” Adrien sighs leaning back examining his blonde locks, “What do you think?”
“A nice pastel or cherry blossom pink would look amazing,” Adrien perks up at the suggestion he can still keep the pink, “Actually I might do that too- oh wait! Will that affect our transformation?”
“Not unless you really want to deep down,” Tikki explains, her and Plagg gorging themselves on expensive cheese and treats.
“Well deep down I really don't want to give away our identities like this,”
“It’s a plan then,” Adrien smiles, “Now do you want to order anything else?”
“Thanks but I’m full,”
“What's that got to do with anything?”
 ---
 “Looks great Nette,” Adrien gives her a side hug, the hairdresser shooing him away while he does the final touch-ups.
“Are you talking to me or yourself?” Marinette smiles at the new and improved shock of pink hair.
“Well obviously I look fabulous, but you look great too,” Marinette rolls her eyes at him looking back in the mirror. Instead of evening out her hair, they had made it look like her little episode was actually intentional giving it nice layers and even doing an undercut on the other side. Unlike Adrien, she didn't go all pink, instead the tips being white ombre up to pink and then her natural hair color.
“Thanks, you have to send a picture of your hair to Nino he's more invested in your teenage rebellion than you are, he’s probably also hurt you left him out of the running away part,”
“He has suggested, more than once, running away together,”
“Why what's wrong with Nino's family?”
“Nothing at all,” Adrien quickly covers, “I think he just really wanted me to run away, his mum offered to pack us lunches,”
“Well, maybe we could have used the turtle,” Marinette sighs, “But I could do that to Nino, you already had to leave Kagami behind, have you given her a call yet?”
“Oh um, about that-" Adrien points at her tapping his chin thoughtfully, "Never mention it again,”
“Adrien,” Marinette scowls, “Call your girlfriend,”
“She’ll kill me,” Adrien hides partly behind a seat looking meek, “Also you don't get to lecture me, you haven't called your parents,”
“That's different,” Marinette groans sinking into the seat, only to get told off for moving, “They’ll want me to come home, how am I supposed to explain that I can’t,”
“They’re your parents,” Adrien stresses, “I’m sure they’ll be happy enough to know your ok,”
“Maybe,” Marinette hums, the cloth being removed from her shoulders letting her get up, “I just feel so bad for putting them through this,”
“Maybe one day they’ll understand,” Adrien walks with her to the front to pay.
“Maybe,” Marinette looks down at the bill, “Wow this is a lot more expensive than the usual dye job,”
Made sense because they were in the higher income distinct of the city.
“Why Marinette,” Adrien grins swiping the card, “That's the point,”
Ten minutes later they were laughing as calls kept pouring in one after the other. They are only interrupted when they get the distinct feeling of an Akuma.
“Duty calls,” Adrien sighs putting his phone on silent.
“Seems so, at least we can call out skills multiple times," Marinette walks casually into an alley with him, “What are you up to?”
“About three,” Adrien shrugs transforming, “It takes about double the time for the transformation to drop now,”
“Same, wish I could say that gives us the edge but really it only keeps us from falling off the cliff,” Marinette also transforms, her new costume bringing a smile to her face.
“How eloquent my lady,” Marinette playfully pushes him, Chat catches himself catapulting over the building, she quickly follows behind.
The Akuma is standard, Marinette guesses the akumatized item is the wrist watch. The problem comes with their recurring thorn in her side.
“Ladybug-”
“Get out of the city,” She cuts Batman off, “Yeah, yeah let us handle this first,”
Marinette throws her yoyo out just in time to deflect an attack headed at Chat.
“Do you need any help?” Robin asks, Marinette smiles, partly at the aghast face Batman makes.
“Do you think you could tag-team it with me?” She asks formulating a plan, with the extra help she might not need the lucky charm, “Make your attacks big and draw his attention, grab the wristwatch if you can,”
“On it,” Robin gives her a nod jumping into the fray, Ladybug doesn't give batman a chance to object running after.
Robin does a good job they work in perfect sync falling back when the other moves to make an attack. When the Akuma focuses on them too much Chat swoops in and gets their attention giving them the chance to swipe at the wristwatch. It goes on she sees Robin get thrown back after another failed swipe at the wristwatch. Ladybug takes the chance to move forward grabbing for the wrist, she isn't watching out for the other arm, the impact hitting and sending her flying back.
“I got you,” Her momentum is stopped by a hand bracing at her back, saving her from crashing into the adjacent building.
“Thanks, Robin,” He helps steady her as she finds her footing again, “I’ll move in you follow me up,”
“No need,” He smirks brandishing the watch.
“You did it,” Ladybug beams, taking the watch and smashing it to the ground, “Great job!”
“Ah, thanks,” Ladybug doesn't pay attention to how Robin brushes, focusing on purifying the Akuma and fixing the damage.
“We made a pretty good team,” Ladybug turns to Robin when everything is settled, “Pound it,”
Robin meets her fist with some hesitance, which disappears when she smiles at him again.
“Ladybug!” Batman yells heading their way.
“Ops sorry,” Ladybug cringes, “Sorry! Cant stop gotta go, bye bye!”
They run from the scene faster than Batman can hope to catch them. They end up back at her newly brought bike stacked with fabric and protected by a bit of luck. Marinette races home to make everyone's gifts, knowing just who she wanted to start with.
 ---
 “There you are!” Marinette exclaims, having spent the past half hour searching the manor for him.
“What do you want?” Damian snaps as if he wasn't just playing with the cat on the floor half a second ago.
“Nothing, I made something for you~” He continues to scowl but Marinette doesn't let it discourage her, “Here, I didn’t know your size so I made a baggier style, do you like it?”
Damian takes the sweater holding it up to where she put it on him looking down a little shocked. Marinette almost wants to laugh at the expressions trying to shift back from awe to disinterest, it’s cute. She smiles wondering what his face would look like if she made a matching one for the cat, and maybe Titus too.
“.... It’s well made,” Damian eventually allows, folding it over his arm, Marinette notices how his fingers linger on the soft fabric.
“Good to know,” She smiles, bidding him goodbye before the moment can be ruined. She bounces down the hall humming to herself.
“Someone's happy,” Tikki flies out of her bag.
“He liked it, why wouldn't I be happy?”
“Someones really happy,”
“Stop it Tikki,” Marinette giggles, making the kwami laugh in turn.
“Just like adrien~” Tikki sing songs floating down the hall ahead of her.
“Well then, keep Kagami far away from this one,”
“Don’t turn into a stuttering mess and we have a deal,” Tikki agrees.
“Please Tikki I’m not thirteen anymore,” Marinette brushes her off, ready to go make the others gifts, if she spent the whole time humming to herself Tikki wasn't going to explain why to Adrien.

So I made another oneshot...I know it’s terrible lol.
She Cares Pt.1
Yelena Belova x fem!reader :)
~~~~
After coming back from a mission, Y/n is told by Natasha that Yelena is in the med-bay in the tower, as during a mission her arm was badly burnt and got shot in the shoulder during her and Nat' mission. Y/n, worried (although Yelena just hates everyone except Y/n but she hides it) goes to see her. Yelena surprised by that, she tries to put a new bandage over her arm and shoulder but Y/n ends up helping with her.
Natasha Tells Y/n this because she knows she cares about Yelena and Yelena cares about her.
———
Mission finally over. You let out a sigh of relief, when you, Clint and Steve had finally landed the quinjet at the Avengers Tower. It was mainly just a recon mission. You were their back-up which they did need once or twice. Luckily none of them got majorly hurt. You did pick up a few bruises and minor scratches but that was about it. "Thanks again for being our back-up, Y/n." Steve called out just as you walk off.
Entering the tower, you were greeted by Sam who just waved at you as he played the video-game in the living quarters as per-usual when he had a day off. "Glad to see you back in one piece" he called out before turning back to the game. "Thanks, I do try." you chuckled a little before walking down the hallway. You really needed to get out of your mission gear and have a shower, get into something comfortable (the mission gear was comfortable but not as much as you'd like it to be). Just before you could get to your room, you were met with Natasha, casually wearing sweatpants and a tank top.
If you had to guess the first time you met Natasha and she reccomended you to Tony, you'd never guess she worse such casual clothes but here you were, in front of her. In all honesty, you didn't even know why she reccomended you because you have quite dangerous fire powers, but you came to learn that it wasn't just the powers but the way you fought without them (hand-to-hand wise and weapon wise, you only ever used your powers for emergencies).
"Hey, glad you came back in one piece." She greets you with a smile. Her smiles still surprised you, no matter if you knew her before joining the Avengers. But you were glad she was smiling. "You too Nat. How was your mission?" You asked her. You remembered that she left on a mission two hours before you this morning with Yelena. "The usual, spy mission. Except, Yelena isn't doing too well." Natasha mentioned.
The words 'Yelena isn't doing too well' worried you, regardless if Yelena practically hated everyone here and rarely talked to any of you except Natasha; well there were a few times she'd talk to you but it was only brief. You even made her laugh a few times once. You hadn't a clue why but you never felt intimidated by the blonde russian like most of the others do. You felt safe around her and also attached. Trying to hide how worried you are didn't work very well and the redhead caught on so quickly.
"She's in the medical room, probably changing her bandage now. I was going to go but you can, if you'd like. I'm sure she won't mind you." What Natasha says is true but you never once thought that Yelena actually liked you no matter if you made her laugh, you sometimes frustrated her to. "But, she doesn't like me." You responded with. Natasha rolled her eyes at you and sighed "What makes you say that Y/n? Yelena 'doesn't like' a lot of people, but you aren't one of them, trust me. You made her laugh and even smile, remember." You knew that Natasha was also correct about that.
You thought about it for a while and yes, you were worried about her. So thanking Natasha silently for telling you; you practically legged it to the elevator, going to the floor which had Tony and Bruce's labs on it but also the medical room. You thought about going to greet them when you saw them, but you figured that they'd be busy and plus you really wanted to know if Yelena was alright.
Entering the med-bay rather quietly, you spotted Yelena sat on one of the tables, trying to sort out the two bandages she had around her, one on the left shoulder and the other on the right arm. "Hello Y/n, what do you want?" That halted all your plans to sneak up on her (which ideally was a terrible idea in the first place). You should of known better than to sneak up on a spy. Walking towards her without a care in the world, you stopped in front of her. "I just wanted to know if you were okay, Natasha told me." You spoke truthfully.
Yelena scoffed "Why would you care?" Her russian accent heavy. Wow you thought to yourself, you're just genuinely concerned is all and she's just being a bitch about it. You wanted to know why she was so angry (although you could guess it, considering she went through what Natasha did as a child). "Because you're part of the team." You answer.
Yelena laughed slightly at your answer, she sighed and tried to continue to take off the bandages to replace them. You could tell it must be painful because she whinced the slightest bit. "Oh please, I'm only here because Natasha made me, Fury wants to keep an eye on me. In case I decide to kill you all." Knowing that was something Yelena would of course say you chose to ignore the sentence.
"You can leave." She added, still trying to get the bandages off herself. You sighed "I was gonna ask if you needed help, but clearly you don't." You say as you casually started walking away from the blonde spy. You heard Yelena spout a curse word in russian and turned back to look at her for a second, she was really struggling. Rolling your eyes you walk back over to her, grab two new bandages from the cabinet and turn to her once again.
"Stop being so stubborn and let me help" She glared at you, quite angrily for a good minute before she even decided to let you help her out, "fine."
Taking the large bandage that covered her right arm first, she let out a rather painful sigh, when you saw the damage you were horrified, an entire burn covered her arm, you mouthed an 'I'm sorry' at the russian before proceeding with some anti-bacterial cream that helped with the burns, which she passed you on the table she was sat up on. Lightly dabbing it on the burn over her skin. Yelena was good at hiding pain, but this time it really hurt. "How did that happen?" You asked her.
"Natasha was being stupid blew up half the factory, that caused the burn on my arm. The bullet wound was my fault." She added, her voice rather soft this time. "You can bandage your arm up, right? I'll get your shoulder bandage changed." You add.
Yelena agree's and starts bandaging the burn back up, you on the other hand change the bandage on her shoulder where the bullet wound was. It must of been a pain to get the bullet out because she saw how big the stitches were, luckily she didn't need to take the stitches out for another two weeks.  You decided against a large bandage and put one of the bandage plasters on it instead, which was big enough. "There all done, letting me help wasn't so bad now was it?" You chuckled.
Yelena put her thumb under your chin, making you look up at her. In reality you were only two inches away from her height but since she was sat up on a table you had to look up at her. "I'm only going to say this once, thank you." She gave you a smile but it quickly disappeared.
"You should really get those scratches on your face checked out, don't want to ruin that pretty face of yours. But I gotta say, you look badass with them." Yelena suddenly blurts out. She smirked at you "You think I'm pretty?" You asked her amused by her previous statement.
"Don't push it Y/n. Sit up here, I'm returning the favour." She replies. You nod your head and sit up on the table, while she grabs something to clean the scratches on your face. You smiled, you couldn't believe that Yelena thought you were 'pretty'. You had thought about complimenting her back, you really didn't want to push it but in the end you said fuck it.
As she sat up on the table with you, turning you to her so she could clean your face, the dried blood on your busted bottom lip.
"You're not so bad yourself, Belova."
She didn't reply back, she just smirked and continued returning the favour to you.
i’m an idiot. i screw everything up.
Titans 3.03
still here, still doing this. these reviews take a fair bit of time that i cobble together across days (like, ten minute chunks during breaks, etc) and i tend to struggle to keep up with episodes as they come out. this means that by the time i’m done with one, most of my stuff is jossed (or geoffed in this case? idk) or outdated and the post sinks like a stone into oblivion. so! i’m going to change things up a bit with this one and write as i see the episode rather than collecting my thoughts later. in my experience with spn, that was a faster way to get them done.
anyway. let’s see how it goes! *shadowboxes*
SPOILERS ahead.
1. an auspicious start with some grave-digging!
digging up a grave and breaking open a coffin is some serious, back-breaking work--that dick did it on his own, likely straight after that fight with red hood, is a testament to the sheer intensity, stamina and discipline that he’s capable of. like, we like to joke about dick cooking cauliflower crust pizzas and making gar and rachel spar and memorise sun tzu--and despair at the obvious consequences of some of bruce’s parenting skills--but imagine crime-fighting almost daily without any superpowers, performing some of the most intense parkour in bulky, uncomfortable armour, doing detective work, pushing through every last barrier of exhaustion and then getting up to repeat it all over again the next day. dick probably thought he was going extra-easy on rachel and gar.
1.5. then again, dick probably had a hundred different easier ways to confirm whether jason was still buried or not, from using equipment to merely asking connor to have a quick look with his x-ray vision. but, no, he’s too caught up in confusion and terror, not really having come to terms with jason’s death in the first place, leave alone the possibility that he could be alive after all. he can’t possibly let the others know until he’s confirmed it himself, even if it means digging all through the night until his arms are jelly, thinking over and over again about jason’s eyes, jason’s voice, from behind that red mask.
... besides, dick has good reason to believe that he could’ve been hallucinating. wouldn’t be his first psychotic episode, after all.
that just imbues this sweaty, desperate, fingers-scrabbling-in-gravedirt scene with that much more poignancy, and a fair bit of bone-chilling terror. dick is horrified to realise that jason’s grave is empty, but a part of him is also probably relieved.
Tumblr media
1.75 (... also it’s curious that we’re never shown any of the team asking to see jason’s grave after they come to wayne manor. i guess it’s because the writers--and the audience--know that jason is actually alive, but these people don’t know that. i don’t know if it’s sad or infuriating or both that they’re barely shown mourning him.)
2. oh GOD the sheer TENSION in kory saying, “i don’t want to say it, but--” and dick quickly interrupting, “it was jason. i saw him,” and hank giving him this loaded sidelong glance. i love how dick’s precarious mental health from last season is still this big elephant in the room but at least nobody’s blowing up in his face and questioning his every decision yet
2.25. i love the relative matter-of-factness with which they’re discussing a possible resurrection. and, of course, ra’s al ghul is brought up and quickly dismissed
(still wouldn’t put it past this show to bring him up at the very last second as the real real mastermind)
2.5. “maybe they can bring donna back” OH KORY
2.75. didn’t they have this same conversation about killing/not killing rose last season? man, the og titans make me tired.
and i don’t know if it’s just hank, but there’s a definite in-group/out-group vibe going on with the og titans, where they’re not only ready to consider killing anybody who threatens the group but makes it difficult for new people to fit in. donna and kory got along well with each other, but the dynamics between hank/donna/dawn and gar/rachel/rose were somewhat strained, and with jason, they were really fucking terrible. it makes sense when you think about how the titans started and how they broke up the first time--both were fairly disruptive events, i’d imagine, in that they probably got together to break away from their mentors and strike out on their own, and when they split up, it was the first time they felt directly responsible for the loss of an innocent life.
but the titans that dick is leading now is explicitly about mentoring a young generation of heroes, about second chances and found family. dick definitely wants to reach out to him first, and i have a feeling he’s going to be forced to make some sort of terrible Choice later on in this episode.
2.8. (honestly tho, this also seems like hank struggling with his own guilt re: jason; if red hood is not the kid that he failed, it’d be easier to fight him.)
3.
Tumblr media
HANK NO
4. honestly this season is already ticking off so many things on my wishlist, but i really wish dick would sit down with the newer members of his team and trust them with important information the same time that he’s telling them to the other members. gar searching for help and reassurance from a man who just dumped all of his responsibilities on his son overnight and went AWOL is a sad sight
4.25. has it only been just 48 hours????? wow! jason’s definitely been planning the red hood gig for a long time now...
5. ezekiel, my man! shady looking guy gets into your cab without a destination in mind... no problem, get right in! said guy gets a call to go to the observatory when he’s barely even looked out of the window so far at gotham... yep, a damn tourist! i want more ezekiel in this show.
5.25. (of course jason has upturned table lamps all along the floor... we have to *gritted teeth* balance the TEAL with the ORANGE don’t we?)
Tumblr media
5.5. “dick’s a fucking psycho--he could be following you right now.” hank... has no objection to that lol
5.25. hank, hank... this is bad-decision-palooza. i can’t imagine that hank actually thought that jason was reaching out to him for help, given that the last time hank and jason had any substantial interaction hank had been one of the people accusing jason of sabotaging the team. but for him to go seek out jason and go along with his demands without any backup, weapons or equipment? not the best idea he’s ever come up with.
(add to that getting into the swimming pool of a condemned gym... oh yuck.)
((yes, i have enough self-restraint to not cap his ass.))
(((cap his ass! HA!)))
5.5. do you think jason has bugs/monitoring equipment planted in wayne manor to monitor the titans, or remote access to the cave’s systems? wouldn’t put it past him.
6. oh man, hank came back before dick and the others could meet ezekiel! this is TRAGIC
6.25. i mean, it’s plot-convenient that connor was able to give so much information about the bomb from just looking at it once, but i also like to think it’s the luthor-side of him coming to the fore. it also reminds me of that (in)famous scene from the new52 run of Nightwing comics, where a bomb was attached to nightwing’s heart and luthor disabled it by killing nightwing (temporarily). it’s a neat little callback.
6.55. “where i come from, you go after family? there’s no mercy.” BUT THAT’S THE PROBLEM ISN’T IT
6.75. i mean, dick’s making sense: this is a game, and they need to get it off playing out on jason’s terms. but having a member of his team in his face, doubting his reasoning and every decision? a very familiar sight.
6.8. krypto with an a+ sense of humour? also a very familiar sight.
7. wayne enterprises... providing the military with... bombs that can be implanted in humans? a BIIIIG yikes. i guess it’s not too many steps above developing clandestine intra-dermal trackers and implanting them in your own sons, and bruce probably thought they could be used as part of negotiation tactics, but still... YIKES.
7.5. on the other hand, conner being asked to build a deactivation advice seems part of a growth arc that started from last season... he knows so much, but part of growing is learning, and part of learning is using what you know to create something new.
8. oh man, my heart broke at hank going “i’m an idiot... i screw everything up.” like. for him to go like this, after being brought down to such a low last season? struggling with pain and addiction and his relationship with the love of his life? it’s so sad.
Tumblr media
9. oh, oh, oh! ronnie from schitt’s creek! i love her!
9.5. “one of jason’s minions” took his body out of the morgue... how deliciously morbid that he planned out his own death like this!
10. TALK TO HANK, DICK
honestly, tho, i’m quite impressed with dick here. trying to think beyond just the most alarming part of the crisis at hand, keeping his cool, delegating tasks, frequently touching base with different members of his team... well done.
10.25.... whoops, spoke too soon. i’m genuinely confused here, tho. where did the van full of gold bars come from? why did they stop there and get out? how did dawn even know about this?
on the other hand, it’s cool to know dove has bulletproof feathers!
10.5. eh... curran walters isn’t really selling red hood’s menace to me so far. but then again, if titans version of red hood is vulnerable-kid-with-father-issues-trying-to-overcompensate, then yeah! yeah, it makes sense.
11. “when bats have sex, they gotta have something to hang from” OH GOD HANK
Tumblr media
... because i want smiley!gar on my blog :)
11.5. awww. i feel sorry for hank but NONE of these fuckers deserve gar except maybe kory
12. ohhh FUCK! look at jason being exactly one step ahead of the titans at every turn. nice.
no really, i love the building stakes and the building mystery - i feel like the deathstroke arc from last season should’ve been more like this. the flashbacks about jericho and rose came too late and after too much build up, which resulted in a very underwhelming and confusing season throughline.
13. HANK AND DIIIIIICCCKKK
“you’re doing your best by me. always have.” WAILING HERE
it also kills me to think that hank thinks that his imminent death is because of his failure to keep the team together (when he was clearly struggling with his own issues and was spiralling towards rock-bottom) and his fear that he will once again be the cause of the team falling apart.
also:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
14. “i grew up... you can, too. you just have to face your fear.”
yep, got scarecrow’s grubby little fingerprints aaaaalllll over this.
14.25. nightwing’s got specialised batarangs! yay! (somehow i can’t see this universe’s dick calling them “wingdings”)
15. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
oh man, that was devastating. well done, show. fuck, well done, jason.
this is going to bring up all sorts of “if onlys” for the team. i can’t wait for some fucking aftermath.
Becoming Mrs. Wayne [The Dark Knight] Three
“We have an issue.”
Jack closed the door behind him. Jack was a college friend of Demetria and Harvey who co-ran a moving company with his brother, Max, in Gotham. He’d been there to help Demetria move in to the one bedroom so it was a no-brainer to ask him to help her move.
Demetria looked up she loaded the last box ontop of the dolly
“What broke?” She asked, the knot in her stomach tightening.
He waved his hand reassuringly “Nothing broke. Everything is secured in the truck.”
“Then what’s the issue?”
“There’s some paparazzi outside.”
She rolled her eyes and groaned. “You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me.”
“It’s not a whole lot. Just like two, maybe three.”
“No it’s definitely three,” Max confirmed as he glanced from out the window.
Demetria threw her hands up as she walked over to the window, Jack trailing right behind her. The three of them watched as across the street, three men stood around with cameras in their hands.
She could think a few ways they could’ve gotten her address. One was from the Gotham Gossip, the other was someone at GCN tipped off the Gotham Times who also tipped off some other publication.
“Should I call the cops?” Demetria asked.
“Yeah, that’s gonna go over real well,” Max snorted.
“Well, what am I supposed to do?”
“Just keep going and ignore them, I guess,” Jack shrugged. “Best you can do.”
She closed her eyes. “I thought I had more time before I had to deal with this.”
“Can you call Bruce?” Jack asked.
She shook her head. “He’s at work.” She stepped back. “We’ve got these boxes left and then it’s over.”
She began rolling the dolly when Max stopped her. “Let us do that.”
“And have them catch me empty handed? Not a chance.”
“Fair enough.”
She quickly went into her purse, grabbing her keys and iPod with earphones wrapped around it. She shoved the iPod in her back pocket. “Here’s the plan. Jack, give the keys to Mrs. O’Neill. She’s in the room 301. Tell her I say ‘thanks for everything.’ Max, take one last look around and make sure nothing is getting left behind, alright? I’ll meet you two in the truck.”
Both men nodded their heads. She grabbed her purse and swung it over her shoulder, She rolled the dolly out into the hallway and into the elevator.
Upon getting inside, she let out a deep sigh and rubbed her temple. She could feel her throat closing in and chest tightening, a sign she needed to do her breathing exercises. She inhaled slowly, holding it in for seven seconds before breathing out.
She knew she would eventually have to deal with it when Bruce wouldn’t be around, but as she’d said, she thought she had time. Either way, she’d had to deal with it and it looked like today was the day to begin doing so.
She put her earbuds in as Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chains” filled her ears.
The doors opened and she rolled the dolly out into the lobby, watching the men across the street watch her moves. She inhaled and exhaled slowly.
“Here goes nothing,” she mumbled.
She opened the door with one hand and pushed the the dolly with the other. The men hurried across street, their cameras flashing her as they stood on the street.
She kept her eyes on the truck and even with the pounding of Mick Fleetwood’s drums and Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nick’s powerful vocals, she could still hear the men yelling at her.
“Demetria, where’s Bruce?”
“Demetria are you moving in with Bruce?”
“When’s the wedding?”
“Give us a smile!”
“Demetria is it true you dated Harvey Dent prior to being with Bruce?”
She pulled her lips back, mentally reminding herself that responding to them would only make things worse.
She rolled the dolly into the back of the truck, setting her purse down before unloading the boxes. She knew they were there, watching her unloading, and photographing her from behind. While her throat really started closing in, she continued to breathe. She then put the empty dolly up against a box before grabbing her purse and going down the ramp. She kept her head down as she made her way into the driver’s area of the truck.
Closing the door, she could still see them photographing her from in front of the car. She kept her eyes down as she pulled out her phone and began texting Bruce.
Heading to the mansion in a bit. There’s paparazzi outside my place but everything is fine.
She leaned her head back, continuing her breathing exercises when her phone buzzed. She looked down to find it a text from Bruce.
Are you alright? Are you safe?
I’m fine. I’ll see you tonight. Love you.
Jack and Max got into the driver’s area with Jack at the wheel and Max right beside Demetria so she was in the middle.
“Vans all closed up and everything is good,” Jack said. “Let’s move out.”
The paparazzi moved off to the side as the van pulled forward before driving off.
“How much do either of you want to bet that I’m going to be criticized for not wearing a seatbelt?” Demetria brought up.
 ____________________________________________________________
As they loaded boxes into the storage area of Wayne Manor, Demetria kept looking over to see the mansion.
It was still being fixed, with certain areas built and ready, while others were covered in tarp.
Bruce had shown her photos of what it looked like prior to the fire. For a mansion, it wasn’t overly designed, but rather cozy and the kind of place a kid would be lucky to call home. She’d hope that when it would finally be rebuilt that it would look exactly how it did. Knowing Bruce’s attachment to the house, it probably would.
“So this is where you’ll be?” Max asked.
“Yep,” she responded popping the “p”. “We’re moving in the second it’s ready.”
“I remember when this place burned down,” Jack said. “Real shame. But I heard Wayne’s all cozy and whatnot in his penthouse.”
Demetria shrugged. “It’s just an apartment.”
“Yeah with a helicopter pad,” Max snorted.
Bruce’s wealth was a big topic of discussion that Demetria’s mother and older brother would bring up with her and it made her sick to her stomach. “It’s not that big of a deal.”
“Demetria, can I ask you something?” Jack brought up, as he set down a box. “Are you...are you two planning on having a prenup?”  She cocked her head back. “Excuse me?”
Jack and Max exchanged looks. “Look, I know he’s your fiancé,” Jack began, “but I mean, the guy is known for having a new girlfriend each month.”
“Hell, sometimes it’s weekly thing,” Max chimed in.
Demetria folded her arms across her chest, anger boiling up inside. “What’s your point?”
Jack sighed. “Look, don’t get defensive...”
“Jack, what is your point?”
He eyed Max. “I just wanna make sure you’re taken care of incase he hurts you or...you know...”
“I’m fine,” she retorted. “Our relationship is fine. I’m aware of who he’s been with, but it’s not like that. If everyone stopped believing in this idea they conjured up about him based on the bullshit gossip magazines write about him, they’d see he’s actually kind and smart and thoughtful. Yea, he dated and slept around, but like you guys haven’t?”
She turned to Max. “I couldn’t even keep up with your count after sophomore year.”
She turned to Jack. “You know the lengths he went to to keep our relationship a secret so that not only I could keep my job, but that he would protect me from get hounded by the fucking press every night? If he wanted to leave, he could’ve. I gave him every chance to, but he refused. Thank you for you concern, but we’re gonna be just fine.”
She walked away leaving Jack and Max alone.
Her phone vibrated as she made her way back to the van. She pulled it out to find a text message from Bruce.
I love you too. More than anything. I can’t wait til’ you’re all mine.
______________________________________________________________
Hours later, Demetria entered the Wayne Enterprises building. She made her way to the front desk and by the time she opened her mouth to speak, the woman at the desk beat her to the punch.
“He’s on the 24th floor. Top of the building. ”
She gave the woman a nod. “Thanks.”
She made her way into the elevator and pressed the button. She was thankful to have the elevator to herself when a man with balding, blonde hair rushed in. She gave him a friendly smile and watched as she reached over and pressed the button with ‘18′ on it.
She could feel his eyes on her and she adjusted her purse on her shoulder, keeping her eyes in front of her.
“You’re Bruce Wayne’s fiancé, right?” he spoke up.
She looked over and gave him a small, but friendly smile. “Yeah, I am.”
“Coleman Reese. I’m the mergers and acquisitions law accountant.”  “Nice to meet you.”
She looked away but could still feel his eyes on her. She began playing with the engagement ring, hoping he’d take a hint.
“Wayne really shelled out big ones for the ring, huh?” he spoke up.
She laughed nervously, shrugging. “I wouldn’t know.”
She pulled back her lips, wondering why his eyes wouldn’t leave hers. At this point she couldn’t tell if he was just weird, nosy, attempting to make a move, or just trying to make conversation. Either way, she hoped it would end soon.
“You worked for Gotham City News, right?” he asked.
Jesus Christ, dude, she thought to herself.
“Uh, yea, I did.”
“Just out of curiosity, did any one there ever do some digging on the identity of the Batman?”
She furrowed her eyebrows, holding her in her urge to ask him why the fuck he was asking her this. “I...I’m not entirely sure. I was just a junior talent booker there. I wasn’t involved with the stories reporters worked on.”
The elevators doors then opened, her heart leaping with excitement. Coleman gave her a disappointed, but kind nod as he left. “Nice to meet you.”
“You as well,” she responded.
The second the doors closed, she mumbled, “The fuck was that?”
Reaching the 24th floor, Demetria got off the elevator and wandered around looking for Bruce’s office when she heard someone say, “Miss Gallagher, I presume?”
She turned around to see a gentleman with grey hair and a warm smile approach her. She recognized him as Lucius Fox, Wayne Enterprises’ CEO.
“Lucius, hi! I’ve heard so much about you,” Demetria remarked, holding out her hand.
He shook it. “And I you, Miss Gallagher. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. Bruce talks a lot about you”
“Well hopefully he only tells you good things. Speaking of which, where’s his office?”
Lucius laughed. “I’ll show you.”
The two walked side by side, as Demetria’s eyes fell to the glass windows. “How do you guys get anything done with a view like this?”
“We do our best.”
He directed her to an office with glass windows all around, her smile widening at the sight of Bruce staring at something on his desk.
Bruce’s face lit up, closing the binder on his desk.“Sweetheart, what’re you doing here?”
She wrapped her arms around Bruce’s waist. “I just wanted to drop by and say ‘Hi’, and thanks to Lucius I was able to find you.”
Bruce smiled at Lucius. “I hope she didn’t give you much trouble.”
Lucius grinned. “Not at all.” He eyed the binder. “Is that the full report you wanted me to look at?”
“Yeah, I made some adjustments you’re gonna want to look over.”
“Will do. Demetria, a pleasure.”
“Wonderful to meet you as well, Lucius.”
Her eyes scanned Bruce’s office, admiring the mahogany wood that shine at the touch of the sun. It was organized down to a tee, not a single paper sticking out from the stack. The decor was kept to a minimum, not a single photo album anywhere.
“I’m glad you stopped by,” Bruce said. “I have a present for you.”
Demetria turned to him. “Is that so?”
“Consider it a moving in gift.”
“I told you I didn’t need you to-.” She cut herself off when he handed her a manila folder filled with paper. She pulled her lips back, holding back laugher. “A folder and some documents. How romantic.”
“Open it.”
She opened the folder to find documents pertaining to Gotham's Saint Swithin's Orphanage, including contact information, funding break downs, etc. The way her eyes crinkled made Bruce’s heart melt.
“Thank you,” she said, giving him a quick chaste kiss. “This is perfect. I can start making some calls tonight, get a meeting set up-.”
“Yeah, you might want to wait a couple days.”
Demetria looked up. “Why’s that?”
Bruce smiled. “What are your thoughts on setting sail for a couple days?”
Teasing (Jason Todd x Reader)
You know, I meant to write this sooner, then I found a really good fic series that I’m going to be posting the link for.
Request for anon: Jason and Funny 1 (”What do I look like? A knight in shining armor?”) and Fluff 6 (”Do you have any fucking clue what you do to me?”)
Warnings: it’s a bit sexual so do with that what you will
Word Count: 1,700 words
Jason pins you against the wall, his warm hands sliding under your shirt as you knot your fingers into his hair, sucking a dark hickey under his jaw. He groans, one hand pulling you flush against him while the other braces itself against the wall. You smirk to yourself, feeling his fingers twitch against your side as he lets out a sigh. Right under Jason’s jaw has always been one of his sensitive spots which you are always sure to utilize.
He pulls you into a searing kiss then breaks away for a moment to pull your shirt over your head and shower the newly exposed skin with kisses, love bites, and hickeys. You tilt your head back resting it against the wall with a blissful sigh and wrap both of your arms around Jason’s neck. He hikes one of your legs up against his waist and is about to pick you up when a knock at the door interrupts your activities.
Jason barely acknowledges the knock, fully picking you up and bracing you against the wall, but you pause, opening your eyes and looking toward the door.
“Jay, were we expecting anyone today?”
“Doesn’t matter,” Jason mumbles against your skin, grinding his hips against yours. “They’ll come back,” He promises, kissing you again.
You give in, melting into the kiss as Jason’s hands slide up your thighs. You run your hands down his defined shoulders. Someone knocks at the door again. This time, you both ignore it, until you hear a familiar voice.
“Jase? Y/N?” Dick calls.
“Oh shit,” You curse, breaking away from Jason. “What’s today?”
Jason frowns but shifts his hands holding you to glance at his watch.
“The 17th?” Realization dawns on him. “Oh fuck, I completely forgot we invited him over. We could--”
“We can’t blow him off,” You roll your eyes. “That would be the third time you’ve canceled these plans.”
“I had valid reasons!” Jason argues.
“You did,” You admit. “Pop up missions with the Outlaws are valid. Sex isn’t.”
“I beg to differ,” Jason grinds against you again, showing he is very hard.
“Wow, sounds like your life is pretty hard,” You grin.
Jason groans with an eye roll.
“A dick joke? In a time like this? You wound me.”
“I don’t see a better time for one,” You grin, giving Jason a quick kiss. “Now, let me down before your brother bothers our neighbors.”
Jason groans again, mumbling something about Dick being a cockblock, but lets you down so you can put your shirt on.
“You answer the door,” He grumbles. “I gotta go fix this,” He gestures to his crotch. “Since apparently you won’t help me in my time of need.”
You roll your eyes with a grin, adjusting your shirt.
“What do I look like? A knight in shining armor?”
“No,” Jason murmurs to you, wrapping his arms around you from behind. He presses a kiss against your ear, making you shiver. “You look like--”
Dick knocks at the door again.
“Guys?” He calls hesitantly, interrupting Jason’s last chance to talk dirty to you.
“Oh, cockblocked again,” You wince with a grin. “Go take care of your friend, horndog. I’ll talk to your brother.”
Jason grumbles again, smacks your ass then heads back to the bedroom. You open the door to see a very puzzled looking Dick, frowning at his phone.
“Hey, Dick,” You greet. “Sorry, we didn’t hear you. I was in the bedroom and Jason’s in the shower.”
“It’s all good,” Dick grins. “I was worried I knocked on the wrong door.”
“Come in,” You step aside, allowing Dick in. “How are you?”
Dick shrugs, tossing his jacket on the couch.
“Just got back from the Manor. I wanted to check on Damian and Duke.”
“I’m sure they appreciate that, especially Duke.”
While you haven’t gotten a chance to meet Duke personally, Jason speaks very highly of him.
“Yeah, I’m not worried about him,” Dick sits on the couch opposite of you. “He’s smart and he’s not looking for Bruce to be his dad which I think will save him from a lot of problems. I’m more worried about Damian.”
“What’s going on?” You frown.
Dick sighs, running his hand through his hair.
“Bruce has been stressed lately so he’s been really throwing himself into being Batman which is leaving Damian in the dust. He’s not being a parent to Damian and I’m afraid Dames is going to do something reckless.”
“Did you try talking to Bruce?” You try, despite probably knowing the answer.
Dick chuckles.
“Went about as well as you think it did.”
“Huge blow out argument?” You wince.
“Not quiet that bad, but enough for me to storm out of the Cave. I might take Dames back to Blud with me for a few days so Bruce can get his shit together.”
“He’s going to need a lot longer than a few days to do that,” Jason says as he walks into the living room, his hair wet.
You notice Dick eyeing the hickey you left under Jason’s jaw, but he doesn’t say anything, probably connecting the dots on the real reason you and Jason didn’t answer the door.
Dick chuckles.
“Fair. You heard from Cass recently?”
Jason shrugs, sitting next to you, his arm stretched across the back of the couch.
“She sends me selfies. She seems to be enjoying Hong Kong, but I think she misses us.”
Dick smiles fondly.
“Yeah, I miss her too, but I’m sure she and Steph are living it up.”
“Of course they are,” Jason rolls his eyes. “How could they not?”
The three of you continue catching up, Dick telling you about the craziness in Bludhaven while Jason tells Dick about the Outlaws. Eventually, Dick produces the original reason he and Jason made plans-- Dick was outraged to learn that Jason has never seen Fight Club. Once getting some movie snacks and resettling on the couch, you start the movie, curled up against Jason’s side.
While you enjoy Fight Club, you’ve seen this movie before and instead get distracted by another idea. You casually spread a blanket over your and Jason’s laps, and glance over at Dick who’s on the opposite couch, engrossed in the movie. Perfect.
You shift against Jason’s chest, your arm casually laying on his thigh, your hand dangling in dangerous territory. He doesn’t seem to notice, or mind. Instead, he curls his arm tighter around your shoulders, pulling you close. It’s when you causally brush your hand over his crotch that Jason tense for a moment. He relaxes again, probably chalking it up to an accident.
You move again, this time, pressing against him with more purpose, but keeping it brief. Jason quirks an eyebrow, looking down to give you a look, but you smile innocently, and redirect your attention to the movie. You wait a minute, then reach under the blanket and cup Jason through his sweatpants, rubbing your palm against his hardening dick.
Jason grabs your wrist under the blanket.
“You are in very dangerous territory,” He murmurs lowly to you, sending chills down your spine.
You grin mischievously then lean up and press a soft kiss to Jason’s jaw. His grip on your wrist and shoulder momentarily tighten then he shifts his hand so that he’s holding your hand, stopping you from your teasing antics.
You smile victoriously to yourself, leaning against Jason again. While it’s fun to tease Jason, with Dick being here, it’s a very fine line of teasing Jason versus making him uncomfortable. Some couples might go for the full-on hand-job under the blankets with a relative in the room; however, just as you wouldn’t be okay with Jason doing anything too risky with someone else in the room, you’re not going to give him a hand-job with his brother is sitting on the opposite couch. All your teasing stays above the clothes.
A few more minutes of the movie goes by before you decide you to try your luck in a different form. You shift against Jason again, this time, wiggling your way into his lap. He adapts easily, wrapping his arms around your waist, and rests his chin on your shoulder.
You lay back against him, happy to let him hold you. In this position, you’re getting the ultimate double whammy. While you are very happy to be close to Jason and shower him with affection, you know every time you shift, you press against his dick, and you know your efforts are not going unnoticed.
You turn, pressing a kiss to his cheek and lightly scrape your nails up and down his arms. As you shift, Jason’s arms tighten around your waist momentarily. You continue your antics throughout the movie, occasionally moving to kiss Jason’s cheek or neck, or shifting down against him. By the end of the movie, you can feel that he is fully hard.
“Did you like it?” Dick asks, glancing over at you two once the movie credits start rolling.
He hasn’t seemed to notice you doing anything unusual which was your intent.
“It was good,” Jason nods. “I really liked it.”
Dick grins then stands up, stretching dramatically.
“Well, I’ve gotta get back to Bludhaven and I’m sure you two want to resume your previous activity from before I got here,” He grins at you and Jason, who’s gone very red.
“W-what?!” He sputters.
Dick points at his own neck.
“Yeah, the hickey isn’t discrete there, dude.”
Jason glares at you who laughs with a shrug.
“Sorry, babe,” You grin, not sounding sorry at all.
“Your shower story wasn’t very plausible either,” Dick shrugs while Jason looks like he wants to sink through the couch.
“Can we talk about something else?” He groans, making Dick laugh.
“I won’t torture you anymore, Little Wing,” Dick ruffles Jason’s hair who swats at him. “Thanks for letting me hang out. Bye guys!”
“Bye Dick!” You call to him, then right as the door shuts, Jason has you on your back, pinned to the couch with your hands trapped above your head.
He hovers above you, using his hips to hold yours in place.
“Do you have any fucking clue what you do to me?” He murmurs, grinding against you.
“I can take I guess, but I’d prefer you to show me,” You grin.
“Gladly,” Jason promises, then dips his head for a long kiss.
Countryside Home
Steve Rogers x Fem!Reader
Warnings: None Summary: Instead of the Avengers meeting up with Clint’s family home, the Avengers meet someone who’s barely there but works hard. Other than Steve, Tony knows she’s a spy.
Author’s Note: I just want to be in a nice home and have Steve around with the others, cutting wood, drinking on the porch, watching the stars, working in the barn, you know? We need that.
I was just listening to Gorilaz and I love this song called, “On Melancholy Hill”
~~~
Tony and Clint were in the cockpit, flying over to the coordinates of their lay low place. “You sure there’s something here, Cap? Seems like it’s just a complete field,” Tony looks over to Steve who was slightly struck up about something before nodding. “I’m sure.”
Tony nods and looks away, talking with Clint for a bit.
That witch twin did something to the team, made up fears and threats to their heads and it took Steve back. He feared he will lose her. Lose them. He didn’t want that.
“We’re almost there, Cap,” Tony looks forward and sees a house, in the complete empty field. On the screen, it never showed the house on the screen, it was a complete empty field. “What the...” Clint and Tony look at each before they land the quinjet in the forest nearby.
Steve was the first to walk out with the team. Natasha, Bruce, Thor, Tony and Clint followed behind confused on who’s house this was and how does he know about this place that hasn’t been shown on google maps itself?
Steve and the gang reach the porch, they look around to see old things, garden tools, swing bench, chairs and a table. “We all love a countryside home, hm?” Tony asks, looking at the others.
Steve opens the gate door and he held it open for the others. There was a loud howl that turns into barks. Tony tilts his head, “We gotta hell hound on the other side. Any of you allergic?” He asks. Natasha was the one to glare.
“Steve? Is that you?” Someone calls, Steve smiles at the voice. “It is. And I brought some people.” The footsteps get louder as they head into the living room and the gang stop.
Y/N was wiping down her hands on a rag as she smiles at the team. Thor was confused for a second, Tony leans over, “That is an agent of some kind. I’ve seen her.”
Y/N walks up to Steve and he kisses her. Y/N pulls away with a grin and looks at the team, “You guys look like you’ve been through hell.”
Tony nods, “I’m sure you have too.”
Y/N shrugs, “Probably.” There were heavy steps coming down the stairs and they met their floor. “Daddy!” A little girl comes running up and the other Avengers mouths gape.
“Hey, sweetheart,” Steve kneels down and picks her up, putting her on his hip. The little girl plays with the silver star on his chest. “How you doing?” He asks.
“This is a smaller agent,” Tony mutters. Y/N looks over to the group, “When I was pregnant, I found a house here and I called Nick to help keep us off the map for safety reasons.” Steve looks down at her and grins.
“Did you bring Auntie Nat?” The girl asks, Steve looks over to Natasha and nods at her. “Who’s that?” He asks, the girl looks over to Natasha who was smiling. “Can I get a hug?”She asked.
The girl slides out of Steve’s arms and jumps into Natasha’s causing them to laugh. Tony looks at the couple and grins, “I never heard about your kid.”
“That’s because we didn’t want anyone knowing.”
“No wonder you left the team,” Tony says. Y/N walks up to him, “It’s good to see you.” Tony sighs and opens his arms, “Yeah, you too.” The two hug and something hits Tony in the groin causing him to grunt.
Y/N looks down, “Oh, sorry,” She pulls the border collie back as its tail wags. “She just loves guests.”
“Is your dog an agent as well?” Thor asks, Y/N looks up to him and laughs. “No, but she’s a good help around the house. You’re all welcome to use the bathrooms for showers. I’m making some lunch, it may take a little bit longer since there’s a bit more of you.”
Tony nods, “All right.” The toaster goes off and that somehow triggers the God of Thunder to walk out and Steve follows him outside.
“Thor.”
The god stops at the end of the porch steps, “I saw something in that dream. I need answers. I won’t find them here,” He says. Steve watches him swing his hammer and fly off into the sky. The blue clear sky was bright and he loved the smell of the grass and just the woodsy smell of the trees around their field.
Slowly, he felt a hand rub up his shoulder. “You should get out of this suit. You’ll be here for a while, right?”
Steve turns around to face her. “I’m sure we won’t keep you and Amber trouble.” Y/N shakes her head, “My family can never keep me trouble. I haven’t seen them in a long time.”
“Neither have I,” Steve leans down and places a kiss on her lips. Y/N grabs the belts that wrap around his shoulders and tugs them towards her. Steve wraps his arms around her and smiles in the kiss.
“God, you kiss like a prince,” Y/N says.
“Is that a bad thing?” He asks, Y/N smiles, “Definitely not.” She taps his chest and sighs, “Get out this suit, okay?” Steve gives her a silent okay as she runs her hand through his hair.
“You need a shower as well.”
“Could you join me?” He asks. Y/N smiles and looks at his suit. He knew she liked it. “As much as that would be fun. One, we have guests, two I ain’t having a second kid now, third... not in the mood for fondue.” Steve tilts his head. “It looked like you were.”
Y/N chuckles. “Get in the shower, you punk.”
.
Steve and Tony were offered to cut some logs out in the front of the house. “You and Y/N, never thought the man who hates when people lie, he tells his team a lie.”
“What did I lie about?” Steve asked.
“Lying that you didn’t have this...” Tony gestures to Amber on the deck with Y/N. “This family.”
“We only did it to protect Amber,” Steve lifts up his ax and cuts the log in half. Tony cuts the one in front of him, throwing it in the pile. “Thor didn’t say where he was going for answers?” Tony asks.
“Sometimes my teammates don’t tell me things,” Steve looks over to Amber who was chasing the border collie in the field laughing. Steve grabs a log, “I was hoping Thor would be the exception.”
“Yeah, give him time,” Tony said, “We don’t know what the Maximoff kid showed him.” Steve cuts the wood as the pieces collapse at his feet. Steve plants the ax in the wood.
“Earth’s Mightiest Heroes,” He says, “Pulled us apart like cotton candy.” Tony grabs his ax. “Seems like you walked away all right.” Steve turns to Tony, panting. “Is that a problem?” He asks.
Tony shrugs, “I don’t trust a guy with a dark side,” He cuts the log, “Call me old-fashioned.”
“Well, let’s just say you haven’t see it yet,” Steve says, beginning to plant his feet to ready up the ax. “You know Ultron is trying to tear us apart, right?” Tony asks. Steve halts, “Well, I guess you’d know. Whether you’d tell us is a bit of a question,” Steve cuts the log.
“Banner and I were doing research.”
“That would affect the team-”
“That would end the team,” Tony interrupts, Steve turns to the pile ignoring his gaze, “Isn’t that the mission?” Steve glances up and walks over to the pile. “Isn’t that the ‘Why We Fight’? So we can end the fight?” Steve grabs the log, “So we could go home?-”
The soldier rips the log in half and turns to Tony, “Every time someone tries to win the war before it starts, innocent people die,” Steve’s brows lift, “Every time.” The two stare at each other before Y/N comes up. “Tony, I had a small favor. The tractor in the barn can’t seem to work, if you could just-”
“Yeah, I’ll give it a kick,” Tony says. Tony glances at Steve and points at his pile, “Don’t take from my pile.” Tony walks over to the barn as Y/N walks up to Steve.
“The tractor?” Steve asks, Y/N smiles, “I had to get him away from you somehow. Besides... someone’s there to talk to him.” Steve puts down the ax and pulls her in. “Why don’t you come inside and eat?” She asks. Steve smiles and nods. “Okay.”
After the whole team spoken about Ultron’s plan and decided about theirs, Ultron’s plan was to evolve and they had to leave right after dinner. Y/N picked up her little Amber. “Is daddy leaving again?” She asks.
Y/N sighs, “He’ll be back.” Y/N turns to see Steve walk in with his suit on and shield. “I’ll be back soon,” He says, he leans down and kisses Y/N. Amber reaches for Steve, “You promise you be back?” Amber asks, Steve takes her hand smiles.
“I promise,” He kisses her hand and then the top of her head. “How much do you love daddy?” He asks. Amber and Y/N look at each other with smile.
“Too much.”

Mind i
Natasha x reader x Wanda
Part one of two
“Clint, if this doesn’t go well, I am never taking advice again.” Wanda said, exiting the bathroom. “Is this too much?” She asked, showing him the outfit.
“You’re going to a fancy restaurant and you’re wearing jeans.” He said, raising an eyebrow.
“Fine.” Wanda sighed, moving into her closet. “I don’t know why you chose a fancy restaurant for a first date.”
“I didn’t. Your date choose your location.” Clint told her.
“Please tell me you didn’t set me up with a snob who is going to only talk about them self tonight.” She begged, poking her head out the closet.
“No, I did not set you up with a snob. Trust me, after tonight you are going to listen to everything I say because that’s how right I am.”
“Conceited much?” Wanda laughed, tossing a jacket at Clint’s head.
“Aw jacket.” Clint whined, making the woman laugh.
Two hours later, after Clint had finally approved of Wanda’s outfit, Wanda was standing outside a glittering restaurant attempting to psych herself up.
“You got this. You are an avenger, if anything goes wrong you can kick their ass.” She told herself before entering the establishment.
“Miss Maximoff?” A woman in a hostess uniform said approaching the witch. “Right this way.” She gestured for Wanda to follow her.
Wanda followed the woman through the main restaurant and towards a series of back rooms.
“Your dinner guests have already ordered you a drink.” The hostess told her before gesturing to the door to Wanda’s left and then leaving.
“Guests?” Wanda murmured before letting out deep breath and entering the room. The room was brightly lit by the twinkle lights that covered the walls and in the middle of the room was a large table where Y/N and Natasha were already seated.
Wanda’s crushes.
“Clint.” Wanda growled as her cheeks flushed red. “If Clint tricked you into this or forced you to come, you don’t have to stay.” She said, looking to the two women.
“If you think Clint planned all this out, you need to remember we’re talking about Clint here.” Y/N said, rising from her chair and moving to Wanda with Natasha on her heels.
“We set all this up, the only thing Clint did was get you to agree to this.” Natasha told Wanda as Y/N wrapped her arms around her waist. “If you’re not comfortable with this, we can just say this a dinner for friends.” Natasha added after a moments silence.
“No, no I want this.” Wanda assured the women. “I just never thought it’d be real.”
“Believe it, darling.” Y/N chirped, pressing a kiss to Wanda’s cheek and taking her hand. “Because this is real. Now let’s sit and start our date.” She said, pulling Wanda to the table.
If this was a dream, Wanda decided, I don’t want to wake up.
“Darling. Darling, wake up.” Y/N said, her fingers drawing shapes on Wanda’s shoulder. “I know you’re awake, darling.” She smiled, pressing kisses to the back of the witch’s neck.
“And what a wonderful way to wake up.” Wanda said, rolling over so she was on top of the H/C woman who giggled. “This is a nice view.” She commented, placing her hand on Y/N’s cheek.
“I could say the same thing.” Y/N smiled before leaning up to kiss the brunette.
“You were supposed to be waking her up for breakfast, Y/N. Not become her breakfast.” Natasha said, walking in with a tray of food.
“She pinned me. How is that my fault?” Y/N whined, looking over Wanda’s shoulder at the red head. “She jumped me.”
“The two of you can jump each other all you want later. We have a schedule today.” Natasha said, getting into bed next to Y/N.
“How romantic. ‘Happy anniversary, follow the schedule or I’ll choke you with my thighs.’” Wanda smirked, rolling off the H/C woman as Natasha scowled lightly.
“If it makes you feel better, I want to add that to the schedule.” Y/N said. “Add that to whenever sexy times is on the schedule.”
“I’m going to have to rearrange the schedule soon, if you two don’t start eating.” She pointed out, handing both women a plate of pancakes.
“You know you never told me the whole schedule.” Y/N said, cutting into her food.
“At least you know some of the schedule. All I know is that there is a schedule.” Wanda chuckled as Natasha and Y/N curled into her sides.
“It’s supposed to be a surprise. Y/N only knows because she reads over my shoulder.”
“I was laying on your chest as you were writing it out. That’s on you.” Y/N smirked, pointing her fork at the red head.
“She read over my shoulder. Everyone says I am the unromantic one and I can’t have the two of you believing that, so today is going to romance the pants off the two of you.” Natasha continued, taking a bite of her pancakes.
“Well when you put it like that,” Y/N started. “How can we not feel romanced?”
“What’s first on the list for today, Nattie?” Wanda asked, turning to the woman.
“Well after we finish breakfast, we’re going to shower and then we are going for a drive.” Natasha told the women cryptically.
“No hint?” Y/N asked her, raising an eyebrow.
“No hint.” Natasha smiled. “Now finish up we gotta get going soon.”
“You can stop, guessing I’m not going to tell you.” Natasha laughed, taking both your hands in hers. “You’re not going to get it out of me until we get there.”
“Y/N I thought you said you saw her schedule.” Wanda whined. “You have to know what she has planned.”
“I know of breakfast and where she plans to take us for dinner.” Y/N told her. “Whatever she has planned for throughout the day, I have no idea about.” She added.
“It’s called a romantic surprise” Natasha said. “Keywords, romantic and surprise.”
The three of you walked for several more minutes before Natasha stopped walking abruptly, almost causing Y/N and Wanda to knock her over.
“Close your eyes.” Natasha demanded the two. The women obliged the Russian and quickly closed their eyes. Natasha grabbed each of their hands and began guiding them forward. “Do you remember a few weeks ago, we talked about the things we’ve never done?”
“Vaguely.” Y/N said, gripping Natasha’s hand tightly.
“Well, the two of you had one thing on your lists that was the same and I decided to make it happen.” Natasha explained, opening a door and her girlfriends were hit with a icy breeze.
“Natasha, where are we?” Wanda questioned as goosebumps rose on her skin.
“You can open your eyes now.” Natasha said, dodging the question. Without a moments hesitancy both women opened their eyes and finally saw where their girlfriend had dragged them.
“You brought us ice skating?” Y/N exclaimed, glee written all over her face. “I love you! I love you! I love you!” Y/N cheered, throwing her arms around Natasha’s neck and passionately kissing her.
“I think she might love you, Nattie.” Wanda smirked, waiting for Y/N and Natasha to disentangle before wrapping her arms around the Russian woman. “And I definitely do.” She said before kissing her.
“Enough romance.” Y/N said, bouncing on the spot. “It’s time to learn to ice skate and from a real Russian.”
“That’s such a stereotype, Y/N.”
“So you can’t ice skate?” Wanda asked her, raising an eyebrow.
“Oh no, I’m a fantastic ice skater.” Natasha said, causing Y/N to giggle and Wanda to roll her eyes.
Natasha had booked out the entire rink and the three skated for hours undistributed. Natasha had not been exaggerating when she said she was an expert skater but Wanda and Y/N were strictly newbies. Natasha had, lovingly, kept tally of the amount of times both women landed on their asses.
Wanda landing on her ass a mere three times more than Y/N had.
After hours of the three skating, and laughing at attempts of skating, Natasha brought the two home. Waiting on their shared bed were two dress bags with Y/N and Wanda’s names on them.
“Get dressed. We have to be at the restaurant in half hour.” Natasha said, grabbing her bag out of the closet. Wanda and Y/N did as their girlfriend said and the three made it to the restaurant right on time.
“We had our first date here.” Y/N smiled as she sat in the chair Wanda pulled out for her.
“In this exact room.” Natasha confirmed as she and Wanda sat down.
“We never did thank, Clint.” Wanda mused.
“Do you really want to give him a bigger head than usual?” Natasha snorted.
“I’m good.” Y/N chuckled as a waitress entered, carrying a drinks tray. Wanda and Y/N smiled as they recognized the drinks and Natasha smirked.
“How did you remember the exact drinks we ordered five years ago?” Wanda asked, taking a sip of her drink.
“Because I am the romantic one.” Natasha smirked, raising her glass. “To five years.” She toasted.
“To five years.” Y/N and Wanda smiled, clinking their glasses to hers. It was half way through dinner before Natasha suddenly got a wicked smirk.
“Why are you smirking like you’re planning our deaths?” Y/N questioned her with a raised brow.
“Not kill per say, but I do believe you wanted me to add one thing to the schedule.” Natasha said, lips pursed over the rim of her glass. “I do believe you wanted me to add something to our dessert plans.”
Y/N and Wanda shared a look before Wanda stood abruptly.
“What are you doing?” Natasha asked as the Wanda pulled out her purse.
“Paying for dinner, so we can get our own dessert.” Wanda explained, grabbing both women’s hands.
“Just like how our first date ended.” Y/N said as the three exited the restaurant. Somehow on their walk back to the tower, Natasha had been convinced to teach Y/N how to twirl like a ballerina.
Wanda stood behind the women, watching with a soft smile as her two girlfriends twirled each other around.
“I love you two, you know that right?” Wanda asked as Y/N stood in Natasha’s arms.
“We love you too, Wanda.” The two responded in tandem. Natasha reached out a hand towards Wanda and once she took it, pulled her into a three way embrace.
The three stood together, locked in their embrace in the middle of the sidewalk for what felt like hours.
If this was a dream, Wanda decided, I don’t want to wake up.
“How is she?” Bruce asked, entering the dark room.
“Peter tried to get her to eat, she didn’t even flinch.” Tony explained to the scientist, his eyes not moving away from the scene in front of him.
Clint was sat in the corner of the room, his hands occupied as he fiddled with one of his arrows. He was staring at the bed where Peter and Wanda sat unblinkingly.
Peter was right next to the witch. He held one of her hands in his as he whispered things to the woman.
Wanda was sat in the same position she had been in for near two weeks. Her eyes glowing bright red as she stared at the wall in front of her with a mostly blank expression. The only show of emotion was the single tear that escaped her eye.
“It’s been two weeks, Tony.” Bruce sighed, staring at his friend in worry.
“I know, Bruce. You don’t think I know that?” Tony snapped before sighing in regret. “I’m sorry. That was my sister and one of my friends we buried.”
Y/N Stark and Natasha Romanoff had been dead for two weeks. It had been a horrific tragedy that the whole team had witnessed. If not for Steve pulling Wanda out of the way, she would have joined her partners.
Wanda had not moved since she witnessed their deaths. She did not blink, she did not eat, she did not move and she did not sleep as she continued to stare with glowing eyes.
No-one was sure what was going on in her head.
“It’s okay you snapped, Tony. But this isn’t okay.” Bruce said, gesturing to the scene.
“I know.” Tony sighed, putting his head in his hands. “Y/N would have wanted me to help her, but I don’t know how.”
“I might have an idea.” Steve announced, entering the room with Stephan Strange at his side.
“Steve has informed me of Wanda’s condition.” Strange announced, his hands suddenly glowing. “I’m afraid if we don’t alleviate this situation, Wanda’s mind will be broken.”
“Why am I sensing an and?” Clint cut in, narrowing his eyes.
“Because we may have larger problems than the snapping of Wanda’s mind.” Strange said, moving towards the witch.
“Such as?” Bruce questioned him.
“She could break the universe.” Strange told the team.

Steve sat outside the compound staring at the floor, deep in thought. With the only possibility of victory no longer an opportunity, he didn't know what else to do.
Then, a deafening noise broke the silence in the distance and he glanced up, seeing a familiar Audi R8 speeding towards the entrance. The car pulled over to him but went a bit too far, then reversed. Tony rolled down the window as he stopped.
"Why the long face? Let me guess, he turned into a baby."
"Among other things, yeah. What are you doing here?"
Tony got out of the car and walked around to the back, ignoring his question. "That's the EPR Paradox. Instead of pushing Lang through time, you might've wound up pushing time through Lang. It's tricky. Dangerous. Somebody should've cautioned you against it."
"You did."
"Oh, did I? Thank God I'm here. Regardless, I fixed it," He held up his right hand with a device on it, "A fully-functioning Time-Space GPS. I just want peace. Turns out, resentment is corrosive, and I hate it."
"Me too."
"We got a shot at getting these stones, but I gotta tell you my priorities: Bring back what we lost? I hope, yes. Keep what I got? I have to, at all costs. And...maybe not die trying will be nice."
"Sounds like a deal," Steve nodded, reaching out to shake his hand.
Tony reached back into his trunk to pull something else out, Steve's shield. He handed it over to him but he hesitated for a moment.
"Tony..."
"Why? He made it for you," he referred to his father, "Plus, honestly I have to get it out of the garage before Y/N sneaks over and takes it sledding. I wouldn't give up just yet."
He finally took the shield from him and fit his arm into it.
"Thank you, Tony."
"Will you keep that a little quiet? Didn't bring one for the whole team....We are getting the whole team, yeah?"
"We're working on that right now."
"Steve."
The super-soldier looked up, confused at the sudden seriousness in his tone. "Yeah?"
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For being there for Y/N...when I failed to do that, you were there to take my place," he explained. "Being a single parent was the toughest job I was ever faced with. Her mother disappeared without another word as soon as she gave birth, and I was left to handle Y/N all on my own. I was only 18. I'd made a shit ton of reckless decisions before and now, I was stuck and didn't know what to do. So for her entire life, before Pepper came along, she had to grow up with only one parent. She became defensive and cold-hearted and I couldn't do anything about it. I try to push her, she pushes back, or she shuts herself out altogether. I try to understand why, she sinks deeper. Sometimes I don't know just what's going on with her and as much as I try to be understanding, I can't. But you saved her, Rogers. I don't know what you've been doing to make her change but it's working, and I want to thank you for that."
"Tony, you did a good job raising her. But you have the rest of the team to thank as well."
"I think she's softened up because of you."
"What do you mean?"
"I've never seen her look at a man the way she looks at you," the billionaire pointed out.
"With hatred and a burning passion to kill me if I ever stepped onto her bad side?"
"No, her eyes get all sparkly and shit. She's in love with you. But I swear, if you do anything to hurt her and break her heart, I'll kill you with my bare hands."
Steve's eyes widened slightly, and he put his hands in the air in surrender. "Okay, I won't."
"One more thing?"
"Yeah?"
"If all of this, what we're doing somehow goes south, something goes wrong, I need you to promise me one thing. Take care of Y/N. I need someone to watch over her when I'm gone, and I don't think there's anyone more qualified for that job than you."
"I promise."
...
"And I...am...Iron Man."
You looked over in horror to see Tony snap his fingers with a loud 'CLANG' and a blinding flash of white. Rocket fired at a Leviathan and before it devoured him, it crumbled into ash. The Black Order started crumbling to ash as well. T'Challa and Quill looked around in surprise; Steve looked on in exhaustion, knowing that they had won. Thanos, in horror, looked around and saw his entire army disintegrate. He looked at Steve, who just stared blankly at him. Thanos sat down, mourning before slowly being erased from existence himself.
The raw power of the gauntlet's energy left Tony's entire right side fatally injured. He stumbled for a bit before his body collapsed besides a pile of debris. Rhodey soon swooped in and went up to see his long time colleague and friend slowly fading away before his eyes and not long after, Peter did the same as well.
"Mr. Stark?" Peter ran up to his fallen mentor, tears forming at the edges of his eyes. "Can you hear me? It's Peter. Hey. We won, Mr. Stark. We won. You did it, sir. You did it. I'm sorry—Tony—"
He barely had any energy left to respond as Peter choked on a sob, wrapping his arms around him before gently being led aside by Wanda as she put a comforting arm around his shoulders.
Pepper sat down in front of him, "Hey."
Tony was barely able to move his head, but managed to look her in the eyes. "Hey, Pep..."
She placed her hand on his arc reactor, and he rested his hand on hers as she took a good look at his injuries.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y?"
"Life functions critical."
Tony smiled with tears in his eyes.
"Dad? Hey, you're okay," you said softly as you approached him, "You did it. We're gonna be okay."
"Hey, angel," he said weakly as he took your hand in his. You tried to ignore how deathly cold it felt. "You did so well. I'm so proud of you."
"Tony. Look at me," Pepper moved closer to you as she made sure Tony got a long look at her smiling face. You involuntarily leaned into her, as you felt the familiar sting of tears to your eyes. "We're gonna be okay. You can rest now."
With that acknowledgement, the light in his arc reactor flickered off for good. Unable to contain your grief, you let out a tortured cry, sobbing into Pepper's chest as she started to cry on his shoulder.
Earth's best defender was dead.
Dead.
Your father, your everything, the light of your life. Dead.
You flinched when you felt someone's hand on your shoulder all of a sudden as you stood up, jolting you from your thoughts. Steve stood there with glassy, red-rimmed eyes, which was a rare sight because he never displayed any emotions other than confidence and complete control—and it was beginning to take a toll on your already broken heart. He was always strategizing and planning things out, charging headfirst into battle without a second thought and now he was on the verge of breaking down, tucking you close into his side.
So you let yourself collapse into his touch, a sob escaping your lips as you clung on to him like you did to Tony when you were a little girl.
You're not quite sure how long you stand there like that, tightly clutching America's war hero like you'll slip away if you let go. He was a life raft, and you were stranded at sea, hopelessly lost with the stormy waves violently crashing over you and choking you as you struggled to escape.
Eleven years. Eleven years had passed since you first met Steve Rogers, and his unwavering promise to you that he'd stay by your side no matter the circumstance still stood. Since the day you first joined the Avengers Initiative he'd been a major figure in your life, always sticking by and supporting you when no one else was around to do so. He picked you up when you fell; he didn't judge you on your rough past nor your worst mistakes.
Now you found that you were needing him more than ever.
And in that moment, Steve knew, he had to keep his promise. Not just for your sake, but for Tony's as well.
So he swore to himself on his life that he’d never leave your side.
...
With a heavy heart, you dragged yourself out of bed to get ready for Tony's funeral. Alongside Pepper, you carried a wreath out of the house with his first arc reactor framed with the words 'Proof that Tony Stark Has a Heart' and laid it on the lake, watching as it slowly drifted away.
Everyone was finally gathered together as one, although it wasn't in the way you'd imagined it to be. Happy, Rhodey, Pepper, you, Peter and May. Thor. Bruce, Strange, Steve, Wong, Scott, Hope, Janet, Hank, Quill, and the rest of the Guardians. T'Challa, Okoye, and Shuri. Clint and his family. Wanda. Bucky. Sam, Harley Keener, Secretary Ross, Maria Hill, Carol, and even Fury, who was silently watching in the back.
After it ended you stood at the edge of the lake, hands stuffed in your leather jacket's pockets as you stared blankly out at the water. It was hard for you to think about how you were supposed to move on after losing one of the most important people in life, hard to imagine who you'd turn to now that the one man who gave you better advice than anyone you knew was gone.
"You know, I wish there was a way—that I could let him know," you said without looking behind to see Steve, who'd been watching you for a bit, "how much I loved him. Because I didn't get to tell him before he—you know."
"He knows," he said as you turned around to meet his gaze, "and he loved you more than anything." Almost as much as I do.
"I never got to tell him," your voice broke, lashes brimming heavy with unshed tears, "I just—I just wish I could turn back time and tell him that. But I didn't, and—"
Before you had the chance to finish your sentence, he circled his arms around your waist and pulled you close. At that moment you broke down into heaving sobs that ripped through your chest and your throat and your heart, unable to contain your grief for any longer, sobbing uncontrollably into his chest. And he just held you there in silence, rocking you back and forth slowly as your tears soaked his suit.
Steve wonders exactly how much more heartbreak he can take because to see you in a condition such as this one wasn't doing him any good, making his heart feel as if it was being shattered into a thousand pieces, then put back together only to be broken again into a million more smaller parts. He hated seeing the woman he cared about so much in pain and found himself wishing there was just some way he could just take it all away from you.
"I just really miss him," you choked out, "I...I don't know what Pepper and I are gonna do without him."
"I know. I miss him too," he murmured, pressing his lips to your forehead and pulling you closer, rubbing soothing circles onto your back. "We all do."
"You're not going to leave, are you?" you mumbled into his chest, "Please don't leave me."
"I won't, I promise," he reassured you, smoothing your hair back, "Whenever you need me, I'll be here."
"Okay," you let out a shuddering sigh, "okay."
...
You headed back inside, as Steve led you to the living room with a hand on the small of your back as you sat down on the couch, taking the letter that Happy gave to you.
"He hated writing letters. Always insisted on typing everything up, but he hand wrote this for your sake," Happy explained quietly. "I've never seen someone love their kid as much as he loved you."
"I loved him, too," you smiled sadly. "Thank you, Happy. For everything."
"No worries, sweetheart," he nodded solemnly. "Anything for his little girl."
The super-soldier gripped your hand encouragingly, lacing your fingers together and squeezing tightly as you unfolded the paper.
To my sweet Y/N.
If you're reading this, it means I've been faced with my untimely death. I mean, not that death at any time isn't untimely. This time travel thing that we're gonna try and pull off tomorrow...it's got me scratching my head about the survivability of it all. That's the thing. Then again, that's the hero gig. Part of the journey is the end. But what am I tripping for? Everything's gonna work out exactly the way it's supposed to.
When I first found out I was getting a daughter, I was sure I'd never be able to handle the responsibility of having a child. I didn't plan on becoming a parent so early and I was afraid, terrified I'd fail you as a father. And I feared that I did, many times. I was afraid you'd grow to resent me for what I'd done. But I persisted, because I wanted to give you the best possible life I could despite that raising you alone was probably the most difficult thing I've ever done. But it was all worth it in the end, because I got to see you grow up and become this beautiful, accomplished and talented young woman who would do anything for those she loves.
Look, I don't want you to make the same mistakes as I did. When the time comes, I want you to find a man that's willing to settle down with you and give you his whole heart- that's how you know he's the one. Hell, if you're going to go and get with Rogers, I wouldn't mind that either. Over this past decade, I've never seen someone as dedicated to protecting you and staying loyal to you as him and if you decide to get together, I'd be more than happy to give you my blessing. Honestly, I think the entire team's been shipping you two since the day you first met (Don't tell Sam I exposed him as a softie, though, he's going to kill me if I do. Or Clint). Seriously, though. Capsicle loves you, more than you'll ever know. And much more than he's willing to admit himself.
Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid to let your guard down, to be vulnerable and let the ones you love in. I know you're afraid of getting hurt, I know you believe that by building up those mile-high walls around your heart you think you're saving yourself, but it's really only going to hurt you in the long run. Love is messy. Sometimes you gotta suck it up and deal with the pain; that's just how it is. You get hurt, you get heartbroken, and there's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. It's a messy process.
If you ever feel like giving up, like you just can't go on any further, just know that there's always someone out there who's rooting for you. You got me, the team. SHIELD's got your back, so does Happy, and even Peter. Know that there's always hope.
Remember that your past does not define who you are. Sometimes you can do everything right and things will still go wrong. The key is to never stop doing right.
You are not what has happened to you. You are what you choose to become.
Thank you for being born and coming into my life, becoming the best thing that's ever happened to a guy like me. Remember I'll always be with you no matter what, angel. I love you 3,000.
From, the arm-wrestling champion, genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, your dad, and #1 fan. I love you so much. -T.S
A tear slipped down your cheek and dripped onto the paper, staining the corner with a dark spot as you folded it back up and set it on the table. You rested your head against Steve's broad shoulder as he wrapped an around your waist in a protective manner, pressing a lingering kiss to the side of your forehead.
...
Several days passed and Steve knew it was growing closer to the time he would be forced to make the most difficult decision of his life. As much as he wanted to stay, he knew what he was about to do was absolutely necessary to restore the universe to normal once again.
Night after night for the next three weeks, you woke up screaming with sweat streaming down your face, a shiver running down your spine and images of Tony dying in front of your eyes with you not being able to do anything about it flashing in your brain. He'd come into your room without question, climb into bed next to you, and hold you close, rocking you back and forth and humming old lullabies his mother used to sing to him as a child until you fell asleep, your breathing and rapid heartbeat finally steadying.
Everyone could tell something was going on between the two of you, but because you were so heavily weighed down by your grief that you didn't think before you did anything, they didn't question why you were suddenly so close to the super-soldier. He was your anchor, your safe haven you so desperately needed and were convinced would sink below your endless stream of thoughts without.
The dreaded day finally came and with a heavy heart, Steve got up and watched your peacefully sleeping figure in bed for a moment before leaving and heading outside.
Bucky, Bruce, and Sam were already waiting by the time he met them by the time machine.
He then walked over to Bucky. "Don't do anything stupid 'till I get back."
"How could I? You're taking all the stupid with you."
The two men both exchanged a quick hug with each other.
"Stay safe, buddy."
"It's gonna be okay, Buck. If this somehow—takes longer than it's supposed to—or I don't come back at all—promise me you'll watch out for her, alright?"
"I will," Bucky nodded.
Steve went over to the Quantum portal, donning the red and white suit.
"How long is this going to take?" you asked.
"For him? As long as he needs. For us? Five seconds," Bruce replied.
The super-soldier picked up Mjolnir 2013.
"Ready, Cap? Alright. We'll meet you back here, okay?"
"You bet."
"Going quantum. Three, two, one—"
With that, he disappeared into the quantum tunnel.
"And returning in five, four, three, two, one—"
Steve didn't appear on the pad right away, and Bruce looked around the equipment in confusion.
"Where is he?" Sam questioned.
"I don't know. He blew right by his time stamp. He should be here."
"Well, get him back."
"I'm trying."
"Get him the hell back!"
"I'm trying, I'm trying!"
"Sam," Bucky cut in.
Sam walked towards him, and him, Bucky, and Bruce saw his familiar broad-shouldered figure in the distance, so they went near him.
"Go ahead," Bucky gestured over to him with a small smile.
Sam went over to Steve, who was silently staring out at the water ahead with his hands stuffed in his pockets. He still looked the same, with his signature leather jacket and khakis. If it weren't for the subtle lines etched in his face from years of enduring hard battles against both himself and other enemies, from his newfound grief, one would think he was barely over thirty years old.
"Cap?"
"Hey, Sam."
"So did something go wrong, or did something go right?"
"Well, after I put the stones back, I thought, maybe I'll try some of that life Tony was telling me to get."
"How'd that work out for you?"
"It was beautiful."
"I'm happy for you. Truly."
"But when I saw how happy she looked living her life...I didn't want to take that away from her," the super-soldier explained. "Seeing that she was able to move on made me realize I could do the same. I can't stay in a relationship when I know my heart belongs to someone else. I made Stark a promise to look after her....I can't do that if I'm not here."
"Is that why you didn’t stay?"
"Yeah," Steve smiled faintly, "I couldn't leave her behind."
"Well, uh...she's inside, if you're looking for her—"
"Steve?"
"Uhhhhh....never mind, there she is," Sam gestured to you as you were stepping down the porch and making your way across the lawn to him. "You want me to give you two a moment?"
"Yeah. That'd be nice."
You picked up your pace, sprinting towards him as fast as you possibly could into his embrace.
"Y/N—"
"Why'd you come back? I thought you were going to, you know—stay with Peggy—"
"I couldn't, Y/N, and you know that."
"Why not?"
He pulled away, letting his gaze linger on your face for a bit before brushing a stray hair behind your ear. "I made a promise I couldn't break. I'd never be able to forgive myself for it if I did."
"What promise?"
"Tony made me swear on my life that I'd stay no matter what happened."
"Steve..." your voice wavered as you forced yourself to look straight up at him, those icy-blue eyes that never seemed to fail to give you chills and make butterflies flutter around in your stomach, "Why did you throw away your one chance of having a happy ending? Now I'm the reason why your last chance of living the life you always wanted was taken away from you. I can't—I don't want to stop you from being with whom you love. You came back, even when you had the chance to live out the future that you'd been looking forward to for so long. And you didn't take it. Why?"
"I don't need to stay, when my entire future is standing right in front of me. Y/N, you are my future."
"Oh my god—"
"Shut up," Bucky hissed, elbowing Sam in the side, "let them be!"
"So he's been in love with her this entire time and I had no clue?! He's been in love with her for five whole years? Took them long enough."
"Ten. Catch up, birdbrain."
"Look, I'm sorry—"
"There's nothing to be sorry about," Steve reassured you in a soft voice, "I made my decision, and I'm staying here, whether you're in favor of that or not."
You let out something that was a mix of a choked sob and a laugh. "I can't get rid of you?"
"Unfortunately not," he chuckled, "as far as I know, you're sticking with me, because I love you too much to let you go."
"I hate to break the sentimental mood you've created here, you mumbled into his chest, "but...do you mean like...you're actually in love? Because that's what Dad would always say. If a man doesn't leave your side he either just wants to annoy the hell out of you, or is hopelessly in love with you."
"He's not wrong."
"Okay, then I—"
Steve quickly silenced you by leaning down and placing his lips lightly on yours, which took you completely by surprise. It was as if the entire world stopped when your lips met, your body warming up under his touch - a feeling that you'd never really get used to although you'd been working with him for as long as you could remember. You felt as if you were going to explode from the sheer amount of passion and adrenaline coursing through your body.
"I was going to say I love you too," you let out a sound that was a mix between a choked sob and a laugh. "before you—uh—cut me off like that."
"Oh," he chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly as his cheeks flushed a bright pink, "sorry."
"I'm gonna say it! You two. Have taken. Too damn long! To admit! You're in love! With each other!" Bucky clapped with every few words he said. "That’s all you say in response to her telling you she lo—"
"Man, shut the hell up," Sam grumbled. "as if you're dating anyone right now."

So, about the movie...
Tumblr media
At long last, a week after it came out, I was finally able to see the Sonic movie. The Daytona 500 being held across the street from my favorite theater and conflicting work schedules had been keeping me away, but now I’ve finally seen it. And it was...
Decent!
Which is way, way, way, way, way better than a movie with this awful premise has any right being. That’s for damn sure. I enjoyed my time at the theater. I don’t know how they did it, but they did it. If you like Sonic and haven’t already seen it, you will probably get a kick out of this film. If you don’t like Sonic (or Jim Carrey), there is very little in this movie for you
Okay, now that that’s out of the way, it’s time to break that whole movie down. This will contain full spoilers for the Sonic movie
This movie kinda gave me deja vu because it’s set up so similarly to the Bumblebee movie. Both open with a slavishly faithful CGI sequence on another planet to ensure long time fans that the creative team gives a shit, but a conflict sends the title character to Earth. There, they form an emotional bond with the human lead as they’re pursued by the bad guys, who are working with the US government and tracking the energy signature of the title character. This setup worked extremely well for Bumblebee, because it’s so similar to the usual plot of Transformers. For Sonic, it was... a mixed bag. But it worked better than I expected
Tumblr media
(This shot does not happen in the movie.)
That opening though, huh? Green Hill Zone looked great, and I was pleasantly surprised to see they did, in fact, use the Hyper Potions track from Sonic Mania in the actual film. (The piano rendition of the Green Hill theme used later was also lovely.) Longclaw was also interesting. I’ve seen one person bring up all the bird-themed ruins in Sonic 1 and 2 as a possible source of inspiration for the character, and I think that’s a valid take. And man, the echidnas! I wasn’t expecting that AT ALL. I guess that was probably the Knuckles Clan or something? I would never, ever picture them being alive during Sonic’s lifetime, but like... I guess Knuckles had to come from somewhere, right? If they do another movie with Knuckles, will the rest of his kind have died out?
Sadly, though, this sequence felt like it was over in a heartbeat. We barely see Sonic’s life on his home planet, and we’re expected to feel emotional over Longclaw’s sacrifice when she only gets like three lines before Sonic is sent to Earth. This is a common theme with the film--it goes for these big emotional beats that it just does not earn with its rapid fire pacing
Anyway, then we fast forward and Sonic’s a teen. This is actually kind of an interesting one if you’re constantly neck deep in Sonic Character Analysis like me, because it’s a pretty different take on the character. It’s hard to give them credit for doing something somewhat fresh with the character, though, because like... how much of that was intentional, and how much was just Hollywood writers trying to squeeze a generic action-adventure movie out of Sonic? (Honestly, it’s probably mostly the latter.)
Tumblr media
The closest other piece of Sonic media to the movie would probably be Sonic X, a story in which Sonic isn’t really the protagonist. The Sonic of the anime is fairly emotionally distant. He cares deeply about his friends, and does nice things for them, but he’s totally fine with running off on his own for extended lengths of time, and he doesn’t really talk about his feelings. He’s not the character the audience is meant to sympathize with, but is instead this cool older kid who Chris wants to impress. This is pretty much in line with how Sega likes to depict the character. He cares about his friends, but he’s also cool with being a loner. It feels like he only runs into them incidentally, usually when Eggman is causing trouble, and then when the crisis of the week is taken care of he’s back to going on his own adventures. There’s a reason why one of his catchphrases is “long time no see”
The Sonic of the movie is the polar opposite. His main conflict is that he’s lonely and desperately seeks friendship. He’s also an overly-eager, extremely earnest goober. He literally flosses twice. (Which I loved.) I’ve seen him compared to Silver, and honestly, that’s not a bad comparison. I did like it, though! I don’t mind Sonic being a more emotionally open character, like he was in a lot of older Western media. I mean, he cried in like the second or third episode of SatAM
It’s just that, like many things in the movie, it feels less like a deliberate creative choice and more like a logical string of decisions to make when writing a generic action-adventure film for general audiences. Sonic’s the only one of his kind on Earth, so of course he’d be lonely. He has to have some sort of arc for audiences to connect with him, and if he’s gotta be accompanied by James Marsden for the whole movie, well, his arc’s gotta be about them becoming friends
I’ve gotta say, though: Ben Schwartz is great as Sonic. As much as I like Roger Craig Smith, I wouldn’t complain if he became the new main voice of the character. And thanks to the redesign, he looked great. I can’t imagine how nightmarish this movie would’ve been if Sonic wasn’t cute
My main fear with this movie, though, was that Sonic wouldn’t really be the protagonist. As a fan of Transformers, I know all too well that the cost of doing a full CGI character usually means that said character can’t really be the star of the film. Optimus and Bumblebee aren’t the stars of the Transformers movies--they’re supporting characters who are primarily present for the sake of the action scenes. The humans are the real stars in those movies, and the robots are barely even characters. I was terrified that Sonic would be the same, with the actual character I paid to see taking a backseat to James Marsden The Cop
I’m not quite sure if they struck the right balance there, but they did better than I worried they would. Sonic is central enough to the film and gets enough screentime that you can easily say he’s the protagonist. BUT there is absolutely too much of Tom and his family. The human cast is fine, the performances are fine, and there were a few good jokes, but every time the movie tried to get me to care about Tom’s life I was bored out of my mind. It’s just so trite and passionless. The other characters barely felt fleshed out at all, including Tom’s girlfriend (wife?) and Agent Stone. The little girl who gives Sonic the shoes had some cute moments, though
I do, however, love the part in which James Marsden is walking around in a San Francisco t-shirt, to remind us that he’s planning on moving to San Francisco... which then becomes the excuse for Sonic to think about San Francisco and accidentally send his warp rings there, which becomes the excuse for the buddy road trip aspect of the film. And as much as that was a focus of the marketing, the actual road trip part is like... maybe 20 minutes of the movie? There’s like three scenes with Sonic and Tom on the road and then they’re in San Francisco for act 3. The movie tries to act like they’ve formed this deep bond and I just did not give a shit. I don’t care about the cop. All Cops Are Bastards, and that absolutely includes Tom, whose dream in life is to join the extremely corrupt San Francisco PD
The whole excuse for Sonic having to sit in the passenger seat of a car going the speed limit for a good chunk of the movie is also, just. Stupid. If he doesn’t know where San Francisco is and time is of the essence, just... give him a map?
Tumblr media
And then there’s Jim Carrey. I was worried about this one. The previews tended to highlight his most Jim Carrey Being Wacky moments, and as fond as I am of movies like The Truman Show and Bruce Almighty, that’s just. That’s not Robotnik. I was pleasantly surprised by the actual movie, though! I thought he was pretty good. I’m not sure what incarnation of Eggman I’d most compare him to, but like... it was close enough, and he was entertaining enough. I’d pay to go see another movie with him as Robotnik. Sure. (Especially with how he was looking at the end of the film.)
There were some other little interesting tidbits here with Eggman, although again, a lot of that is less “let’s do a new take on Eggman” and more “let’s do a marketable movie with Eggman in it, which requires us to explain some stuff.” Like him straight up just being a normal human from Earth, with none of the confusion present in the current “two worlds” canon of the games. Or him apparently being an orphan who was bullied in school, and who trusts machines more than other humans. It’s a safe way to depict the character in a Hollywood movie, but I thought it worked
The way they got to his nickname was kind of funny, though. Like, obviously they didn’t put Jim Carrey in a fat suit, and thank god for that. So instead of mocking his weight, the nickname is derived from the egg-shaped robots he uses. Which made sense, I guess. It at least felt logical for this incarnation of Sonic, who had annoyingly been calling Tom “Donut Lord” the whole movie, to make up the nickname “Eggman.” (Said robots, by the way, were a weak point of the movie to me. They just didn’t have that Eggman whimsy and felt very safe and very Hollywood. Honestly, though, if they had just made Robotnik’s ship grey and slapped some hazard stripes on it, it’d probably be fine.)
As a whole, I thought the humor of the movie was... okay. Sonic had a lot of good moments thanks to Schwartz’s great performance, as did Robotnik. There were just so many weird lines, like James Marsden telling Robotnik that he was breast fed, or the agonizingly long child trafficking joke with Sonic in the duffel bag. Stuff like that
The action was great, though. They definitely owe a lot to the Quicksilver scene in that one X-men movie (I forget the one), but they had a lot of fun with Sonic’s powers and it felt extremely true to the character. Seeing him do one of his Smash poses during the San Francisco fight was great. The action scenes were an absolute delight
And then the ending. Oh, that ending
Tumblr media
So, I had already heard that Tails shows up in the stinger before I saw the film. And when I heard that, I expected it to be like, the classic Tails origin story. Maybe Sonic would return to his planet, and run into this precocious kid who decides to follow him around... but no! Not at all! Tails is already the Tails we know and love. He’s already an inventor, he’s already tracking down Sonic. I’m shocked that Sonic actually stayed with Tom instead of running off to have new adventures, but hopefully this is a sign that more characters will be brought into the fray if they make a sequel
And boy, they better make that damn sequel. This movie had a great opening weekend and a positive reception. They have no excuse not to. GIVE US SONIC AND TAILS GOING ON AN ADVENTURE
Other stray thoughts
Holy shit they put Sanic in the movie
The Sega logo animation meant that Kiryu from Yakuza was in this movie for a few seconds
The pixel art credits sequence, which featured both the Sonic 2 special stage and Get Blue Spheres as well as the Eggman logo screens from the Studiopolis Zone boss, was cute
The Saturn logo could be seen on the diagram of the other habitable planets
Robotnik had a label for “Badniks” on his circuit breaker. I wonder if the drones in the movie are intended to be Badniks, or if we’ll see actual ones if a sequel gets made
Also, was it implied that Robotnik committed war crimes for the US government
One of the government guys who I think only got one line was played by Garry Chalk and as such sounded exactly like Optimus Primal
I can’t tell if Sonic getting a red race car bed was an intentional shout out to the Archie comics or if it’s just a coincidence, but I loved it
A dude about my age wearing a Sonic Mania t-shirt literally stood up and clutched his head in shock when Tails showed up
After the movie a very excited kid got his mom to take his photo with the Sonic display in the lobby. Afterwards he was so excited that he flossed
I can’t believe they talked about Olive Garden so much

You Don’t Know My Name (Tim Drake x Reader)
Tumblr media

Word Count: 1400
Warnings: None
A/N: so I guess I’m doing a song fic?? I know I’m new here n I’m pretty sure I only said I vibe w DC n Broadway lololol- but one thing many people in my life know about me is that I LOVE Alicia Keys. This is one of my favorite songs from her and the whole “Diary of Alicia Keys” album and I just really love the MV so I wanted to turn it into this. Don’t forget to hit up my asks for requests!
KEY: Y/N: Your Name Y/H/C: Your Hair Color indent: Lyrics from the song
————————————————————————————————
Baby, baby, baby,  from the day I saw you, I really, really wanted to catch your eye.
You run into your job with minutes to spare before you were considered late, flattening your uniform from the crinkles that were earned from running into the coffee house.
“You’re lucky, (Y/N), with seconds to spare.”
You hear the comment your boss throws at you, feeling kind of annoyed.
“At least I made it.” You say with a hint of irritation in your voice as you clocked in for your shift.
You threw on your apron and got ready for work. You took the 9-5 shift here as a way to make extra cash over the break before you headed back to college. This job could have been worse, but you were getting paid a decent amount to support yourself and to do what you wanted.
 The morning was sluggish, but today the coffee house got a lunch rush. As businessmen and women entered in their expensive suits and leather shoes, you had a bit of hope that you’d get bigger tips than usual. You ran around taking orders and bringing the customers their second coffee of the day, it was normal.
Then, he walked in.
 A young man with raven colored hair with gleaming blue eyes walked in. You spotted him from the corner of your eye as you brought a cup of coffee to table 12. You’d seen him before, but not up close. You thought he was charming, and he seemed to be your age as well.
 You don’t know what changed in you. You wanted to say hello, you wanted to ask him how he’s doing, you wanted to ask who he was, you wanted him to notice you.
Something special ‘bout you, I must really like you. Cause not a lot of guys are worth my time.
From that day forward, he came on Wednesdays during his lunch break. He’d always order the coffee which was not a surprise to his coworkers  as he “was fuelled by coffee” as you’d hear it. You learned his name was Tim Drake through the whispers of the other customers as they watched him enter. You always put real milk instead of water even though your boss would call you out on it. This guy was worth more than the cheap instant coffee with just water, you thought he was kind of sweet.
It was a new feeling, you never really gave much time to guys cause they weren’t worth it, but this guy was.
“She’s quite pretty.”
He thought to himself as he watched you converse with the customers with a smile as you laughed at the corny joke the older woman you were attending to cracked. He wanted to chat with you, but the lunch break was short and Wayne Enterprises needed the CEO present for the meetings of the day.
 “Damn. One day.” He muttered to himself as he had to leave. Before he goes, he spots a glass bowl that was labeled “BUSINESS CARDS” on it.
 “Eh, why not?”
 He dropped his in there for the fun of it. Wayne Enterprises didn’t need anymore fame that it already got, so he dropped his own.
 Oh baby, baby, baby, it’s getting kinda crazy. Cause you are taking over my mind.
 As you watch him walk out the diner, you feel a little sad watching him go. You loved to serve him the special, the short interaction of saying “Here’s your order, sir.” was blissful and receiving the smile and the faint “Thank you.” was enough to make your heart go pounding and making you smile like an idiot for the rest of the lunch rush.
 Every time he left, the rest would follow as their lunch breaks also finished. This let the coffee house go back into its relaxed state with customers coming and going. You watched them eat their burgers and fries whilst you thought about-
 “Tim Drake?” You heard your coworker say.
 What? now Belinda has mind reading powers and is out here trying to embarrass you?
 “Sorry?” You say feeling a bit flustered with slight fear that maybe Belinda really did have mind reading powers and read through your thoughts.
 “Tim Drake of Wayne Enterprises dropped his card into the bowl. Huh, interesting.”
 Belinda said as she dropped it back into the bowl. As she walks away, curiosity got the best of you as you grabbed the bowl and took the card.
 “Oh my God.” You thought to yourself. You knew what you were going to do with that card. You saw the number, you had a working cellphone, it was all the components of a crazy plan you were going to pull off.
 “I’m gonna have to just go ahead and call this boy.”
 *********
 Another day at Wayne Enterprises meant endless meetings, dealing with angry ex lovers of Bruce Wayne at the concierge, and looking at a bunch of new business ventures. Tim was fuelled by coffee and ran on negative hours of sleep.
 As the day paced through slowly, it was finally over. Tim headed back to Wayne Manor to do more work. As he entered and changed into lounging clothes, he expected another evening of writing on excel sheets and attending to his duties as a vigilante.
 His thoughts as to what the next big investment would be paused as he heard his phone ring. An unknown number was displayed across the screen, he answered it.
 “Hello?”
 “Hello? Can I please speak to - to Tim?”
 “This is him speaking, may I help you?”
 “Oh hey, how ya doin’? Uh, I feel kinda silly doing this but uh, this is the waitress from the coffee house across Wayne Enterprises. You know, the one with the (Y/H/C) hair?”
 He smiles to himself as he recognized you by just that hint.
 “Oh yes, hello! Miss...?”
 “(Y/N). So sorry to bother you but, I found your number in the business cards bowl.”
 “Of course, my bad I slipped for a bit, I just realized I never really caught your name on your tag.” He chuckles through the phone.
 You chuckle along as you would assume someone so young with a top position at a company would be sharper.
 “Yeah, well I see you on Wednesdays all the time. You come in every Wednesday on your lunch break I think. You always order the special, with the coffee. And my manager be tripping and stuff saying that we gotta use water. But I always use some milk and cream for you ‘cause I think you’re kinda sweet.” You mention that to him with the confidence that was erupting within.
He blushed slightly at your remark and the gesture that you reserved just for him when he ate there.
 “Why thank you, (Y/N). I really appreciate that.”
 Conversing with you even on the phone was enough to make this boy fall even harder for the girl he didn’t even know the name of at first. You take a glimpse at the time realizing it was getting dark and you probably shouldn’t bother such a busy guy.
 “Look man, I mean I don’t wanna waste your time, but...”
 “Oh no worries, I’m free the rest of the day.” He lies just so he can get a few more minutes of hearing your serene voice.
 “I know girls don’t usually do this but I was wondering if maybe we could get together outside the restaurant one day? Cause I do look a lot different outside my work clothes.”
 His smile became even bigger with this newfound joy that erupted once you asked him. He chuckled at the last portion of you asking him out. He knew you’d look gorgeous in anything, even in Pajamas.
 “I’d love to, (Y/N). What about Thursday?”
 You smiled like an idiot once he said yes to meeting you. Your blood was rushing and you were filled with excitement.
 “Yes, Thursday’s perfect.” You smiled as you answered.
 “Great! see you on Thursday, (Y/N). Looking forward to it. Gotta get back to doing some work.” Tim answers back to you.
 “Oh yes! See you then!” You hung up the phone and screeched like a giddy child. Unbeknownst to you he was practically doing the same thing. This was gonna be great.

Sidekicks and sex pollens chapter 5
Co-written with @inhumanshadows
Tumblr media
It had been a month since Bruce found out you were Mistletoe and he wasn't happy that Dick and Jason were still seeing you.
"He's a good person Bruce, he's not Ivy, he's not penguin and he's certainly not Joker," Jason stated.
"You don't truly know someone until you've seen them at their worst," Bruce responded.
"I don't need to see him at his worst to know he would never hurt us," Jason went on.
On the other side of town, Ivy was giving you an eerily similar conversation.
“Ivy? I love ya boss. But I can not quantify how much I do not care. I trust them. And if they screw over I can handle it.”
“Just be careful numb skull. I actually enjoy having you around. Tell anyone that and you’re dead.”
"You like me over Harley?" You tease.
"I don't like anyone over Harley dear," she winks, "speaking of i should get going, we have a very hot date planned tonight."
"Night boss... Have fun with your girl," you call out.
"Harley Quinn is no one's girl," Ivy laughs as she leaves.
She has as point. Harley is all her own
You lock the doors and shed your pants and shirt for one of Dicks sweatshirts. And nothing else.
Maybe I’ll text one of the boys
You: 'You up?'
Jaybird: 'did you just you up me?'
You: 'can't handle your own playbook Todd?'
Jaybird:  'touche'
You: 'I’m bored and wanna cuddle.'
Jaybird: 'why not text Dick?'
You: 'He didn’t answer so you coming or not? Oh and I’m not wearing pants.'
Jaybird: 'I'm on my way'
Twenty minutes later and Jason was at your front door.
"I see you were telling the truth about the no pants thing," he laughs taking in the way Dick's large shirt barely covers you.
"Would i ever lie to you babe?"
"Never"
Jason jumps into your arms and you carry him to your bed.
You put on the last episode of a show while Jason strips and puts on your shirt. You lay on his chest and watch the show on screen.
“So how was your day?” You ask
"Bruce is being a prick again," he sighs.
"About what?" You ask.
He hesitates to tell you the truth, not wanting to hurt your feelings.
"He doesn't trust you," Jason says nervously.
"I don't need Bruce to trust me Jay, as long as you and Dick trust me that's all that matters"
“Oh... that’s good.”
“And besides Ivy doesn’t trust you two as far as she could throw you. I told her that if you two fuck up, I’ll handle it.”
“How?” Jason asks.
“You don’t wanna know.”
"Do you ever think about leaving Gotham behind? You, me and Dick just... Running away and starting over somewhere new?" Jason questions.
"I have and as nice as it would be, none of us could ever leave Gotham behind, it's part of who we are," you say rubbing you thumb over his ribs comforting him.
“But isn’t Gotham like a toxic family member? Sometimes you gotta leave it behind to be better and happy?” Jason points out, uncharacteristically.
“Someone’s been raiding my bookshelf. But you have a point... enough of that for now. I just wanna lay with one of the best things in my life.”
"Alright," Jason says pulling you closer to him.
Suddenly your phone begins to buzz, you groan not wanting to move but lean over to grab your phone off your bedside table.
"It's Dick," you smile sliding to accept the call, "hello?"
"Hey sorry i just got your texts," he says out of breath.
"Patrolling alone again?" You ask.
"Yeah but it turned out to be a bust."
"Well Jason is over at my place you want to come join the half naked cuddle session to make you feel better?" You chuckle.
"I'll be over soon."
Dick must’ve sprinted with how fast he gets to your door. That and how out of breath and sweaty his is.
“Hi. Dick, normally love you all sweaty. But uh- you gotta shower.” You say, pulling him inside.
Dick chuckles and pecks your cheek before he strips naked and walks to your bathroom.
“Feel free to join me you two.”
“My shower isn’t that big. Just shower and get your soon to be clean ass over here!!” You shout.
Shortly after a freshly showered Dick is stepping out of the bathroom and climbing into bed next to you.
"I don't know a better feeling than being between my two favorite people," you say snuggling into them both.
"I love you guys," Dick says.
"I love you both," you say in return.
You expected Jason to say it back but instead you were met with the sound of him loudly snoring.
"Guess it's time to go to sleep," you laugh.
"Good night," Dick says kissing you softly.
"Night."
You wake up around 5AM to two very obvious things poking you. Normally, you'd do something but you just lay on Dick's chest and try to sleep more, praying for an uneventful day.
You seem to get your wish when you wake a few hours later to Jason's ass peeking out from the blanket, still asleep and Dick reading a book that obviously came from your bookshelf. His free hand slowly moving through your hair.
"Morning. I made breakfast and put your plate aside."
"How should we wake the sleeping bird."
"Let him sleep, he has no issue eating cold food," Dick says.
You take a bite and stuff it in your mouth, "can I ask you something?"
"Anything," he says taking a sip of his coffee.
"How do you feel about Bruce not trusting me?" You ask him.
"It doesn't bother me as much as Jason, he hasn't quite learned yet how to ignore Bruce's intrusive opinions," he says casually, "does it bother you?"
"I don't want it to but I know how important Bruce is to you guys."
“Thanks. But honestly to me at this point... I couldn’t give less of a shit what Bruce thinks.” Dick says.
“That’s okay... I guess.”
“What about you? With Ivy. I know you think pretty highly of her.”
"Ivy showed me that i could do more for the world than being stuck in a lab all day, she's my mentor but we don't agree on everything," you explain.
Once again your phone buzzes taking you out of the moment with your boys, this time however it's Harley calling.
"That's weird, Harley never calls me," you say out loud before picking up, "uh hello?"
"Y/N? Y/N get your ass to the old oil refinery downtown," Harley tells you.
"What? Why?" You say confused.
"It's Ivy she's in trouble," she responds and the line goes dead.
"What's going on?" Jason asks in a haze of waking up.
"I- I don't know- I gotta go," you say stumbling out of bed looking for any clothes you could find.
“Be careful...” Dick says, but you’re already gone.
You get to the Oil refinery, skin changed and the persona of Mistletoes assumed.
Harley is outside, pacing.
“Harley! What’s going on?”
You take in Harley's appearance, she's got cuts all over and covered in sut, the smell of a fire is now filling the air.
"We went in there to destroy some new fracking machine they are building but there was an explosion and I can't find her anywhere," she says clearly scared.
A shadow passes over you two, both looking up to see a sliver a cape fly into the building.
"Shit it's the bat! Y/N you gotta go find her!" Harley shouts.
"I'll find her I promise," you say running into the building.
The smoke is thick, dark and burns your eyes. You toss some air filtering seeds down to do what they can.
“Ivy!! Ivy!! Where are you!!”
The only answer you have is an explosion from above you. You jump forward, narrowly avoiding a painful potential death.
Damn it! I gotta find her and get out fast... and before Bruce finds her...”
You scower the refinery, ending up in dead end after dead end..
 "Help"
That was Ivy's voice.
"Ivy!" You shout.
 "Y/N"
You follow the voice and that's when you see her.
She's trapped underneath a fallen beam.
"Ivy!" You yell again as you run to her.
“Hey kid...” Her voice is weak.
“Don’t talk. Let’s get this off of you and get you back to Harley.
You toss a semicircle of the air filter plants and then summon many vines to lift the beam off of Ivy.
A few more booms ring in the facility. As soon as she’s free you drag her from under, throwing her arm around your shoulder.
“Let’s go. If we die... Harley would bring me back just to kill me.” You joke.
"Ivy what did you do," a bold voice from above yells.
"Not now Batman," you say dragging Ivy along desperate for an exit.
Bruce jumps down from a riser landing in front of you.
"I said not now!" You say angrily, sending vines towards him to throw him away from you.
You hear his body crash against a wall and to be honest- you gave zero fucks.
You have a few more vines tear open a metal door, Harley in the distance. You can tell by her body language she’d been crying.
“Hold on Ivy, almost there.” You tell her. There’s another chain of explosions as you approach Harley.
“Oh thank god!!” Harley cries.
She takes Ivy from you and you pull two vials from your bag, the liquid a slight green glow.
“Here, these will help Ivy get her strengths back. Use one now and the next tomorrow morning. I’ll try and buy some time with the Bat.”
Harley takes the vials and gives you a knowing nod and takes off, carrying Ivy in her arms.
You knew your emotions had gotten the best of you in that moment so you ran back inside to make sure Bruce wasn't hurt.
"How could you let her get away after doing this," Bruce scolds dodging another falling beam as it hits the ground.
"Do you know what they were going to do with that machine? It would kill the environment!" You shout.
"This refinery is what keeps Gotham out of poverty and now it's destroyed," Bruce retorts.
"Oh like you care about the people breaking their backs in this place for minimum wage while the rich get richer from their hard work, Wayne industries can keep this entire city out of poverty alone but instead you sit in your high castle only adding to the problem."
"I do everything i can to help this city," Bruce says.
"But it's not enough, it will never be enough, not for Gotham, not for the world," you stammer, "all Ivy and i want is to save the environment from those who are killing it like this refinery."
"There's gotta be a better way-"
Before Bruce could finish his sentence a loud crack came from the ceiling, another beam engulfed in flames heading straight for Bruce.
You stretch your arms and have vines pull you and  Bruce towards the door, an explosion rocketing you both outside.
You hit the ground and roll with a thud, ears ringing. You clutch your head and look for Bruce amidst the debris.
You find him a good ten feet to your left, slowly rising.
“You-you saved me...” He says.
“Don’t be surprised... I may not like that you don’t trust me. But I know how important you are to this city and to Jason and Dick. Plus, I’m not a monster.”
You toss a pollen pod at him and use the cloud to escape.
It's a few days later, you haven't talked to Dick or Jason about what happened, you don't know how.
You're sitting in your lab, studying samples from a crime scene when there's a knock at your door.
"Come in," you shout across the room.
When the door opens you turn around and it's Bruce.
"What are you doing here?" You say surprised.
"I've been thinking about what you said and i have an offer for you," he says walking towards you.
"What kind of offer?"
"I want you to come work for Wayne Industries."
You sit there speechless.
"You were right, Wayne Industries can do a lot more not only for Gotham but for the world than what we are currently doing so I want to create a new initiative within the company to fight the damages done to our environment and I want you to lead the department," he explains.
You fully turn to face Bruce, eyebrow raised.
“What’s the catch?”
“No catch. I promise. You’d be in control of the department. I’d also like to offer you a room in the Manor and apologize for not trusting you. You saved my life yesterday.”
“I can’t just up and leave my job here.”
“Actually you can. I’ve had Alfred prep recruitment papers. All you need to do is sign.”
"Have you told Dick and Jason?" You ask.
"No i didn't want to get their hopes up in case you decline," he tells you.
"And how am I supposed to tell Ivy?"
"As long as you don't tell Ivy who I really am she won't know you're working for the enemy just the richest man in Gotham," he chuckled.
"And she would be pretty happy to see me lead my own initiative," you say considering your options, "I'm in."
“Glad to hear it. What about the room at the Manor? I’d be more than happy to pay for any and all moving expenses.” Bruce supplies.
“I’ll take it. And would it be alright if I told Dick and Jason? And we could start packing my place
"I'm sure they would rather hear from you than me," he smiles, "well I'll let you get back to work."
"I gotta call the boys," you tell yourself when he leaves.

Is that Solaris I see on the cover of Superman/WW Future State? He returns! I am suddenly interested in Future State.
Anonymous said: So, Future State? Not gonna lie, at the very least I'm liking the artist line up. Also, Idk about you, but the designs for Diana and Yara Flor (the Wonder Woman from the Amazon) are the only ones that I'm really liking so far.
Anonymous said: FUUUUUUTUUUUUUURRRRE. state
Anonymous said: Thoughts on DC Future State?
Anonymous said: Thoughts on Future State?
Anonymous said: You’ve probably been asked already but thoughts on Future State?
Anonymous said: So... Future State just kind of showed up and is very mixed.
Anonymous said: Future State Superman has a heroic cop battling a villainous anarchist. Topical.
Anonymous said: On Dc future state announcements???
Anonymous said:So. Future State's been officially revealed. Your thoughts?
‘Future State’ this, ‘Future State’ that! Look, what’re you gonna believe, Jim Lee or your lying eyes?
Tumblr media
So this looks...pretty good? Infinitely better than their previous filler stuff like Zero Month/Villains Month/Future’s End/Convergence. And given Jo Mullein is part of this, Bendis isn’t doing these Superman issues, Steve Orlando mentioned on Twitter that he was told to set aspects of this up in Wonder Woman rather than it being allowed to appear apropos of nothing like most of these, and this isn’t built around a *single* all-encompassing tone or hook - along with getting Dan damn Mora to do your main promo images and a bunch of the character designs - I do believe the plan is that this is still going to lead into new ongoing series, just all the last couple of those crossovers I mentioned did. That’s probably where we’ll see Bendis doing Jon, the Zdarsky/Fraction thing, I expect more of Ridley Batman, and maybe one or two others. In any case, nice to see a bunch of fresh talent in the mix and a more diverse lineup both on and off the page, and a lot of these concepts are neat, even if there are as always some turds in the punch bowl. The anthology model being carried forward from the Walmart titles definitely heralds more of the same, whether in the main line or for a continuation of this. And as for the books themselves, I’m gonna take my reactions one by one.
Tumblr media
The Next Batman: Obviously I’m down for this.
Dark Detective: Bruce having a specifically defined new role (as do most of the rest of the old guard) is a smart move for making this sustainable. Tamaki’s let me down recently, but Mora, and also if this follows up on Detective #1027 we might see the Black Casebook. Backups definitely look tepid though. I’m probably gonna hold off on making a call until there’s a preview.
Harley Quinn: Pass.
Robin Eternal: ehhhhhhhh
Catwoman: Oh hell yes, V/Schmidt doing a heist.
Nightwing: Nicola Scott doing Nightwing! Andrew Scott wrote a decent little Wonder Woman/Metal Men teamup story in one of the recent anthologies, so I’m up for this.
Batman/Superman: YES. This seems to be a bit of a prequel thing, but who cares, it’s Yang/Oliver doing World’s Finest.
Tumblr media
Superman of Metropolis: I’ve only heard of Sean Lewis doing a few indie horror books, but of course I’m curious about the Jon-as-Superman book and the groundwork I expect it lays. His costume works for me, fitting that ‘sleek and futurey’ mandate without actually rocking the boat too much (and its differentiation is a lot more tolerable with Clark still rocking the cape and trunks), and the premise is really interesting - not surprising, as editor Jamie Rich says many of the ideas for the Superman books came from conversations with Grant Morrison. Which is probably why we’re seeing so much Seven Soldiers and DC One Million stuff in here, although bringing back Manhattan Guardian, given his background, and this premise, for this moment, is questionable at best.
Superman vs. Imperious Lex: This is probably going to be the best thing to come out of this whole shebang.
Superman: Worlds of War: Privately I called that Clark would be rocking the Kingdom Come getup in here (with the belt buckle from Man of Tomorrow for some reason?). I did NOT call that he would literally have the God of War sword. I’d be skeptical at best, but PKJ and Rich have both assured they’re not doing a Dark Superman thing with this, and hot damn, Midnighter backup by Becky Cloonan!
Superman/Wonder Woman: I think this is going to turn out to be one of the biggest gems of this entire enterprise. Dan Watters did an absolutely phenomenal short story for the last Batman: Secret Files, and it’s a big teamup against Solaris!
Kara Zor-El, Superwoman: The Bombshells team reunited! Here for it.
Tumblr media
Justice League: God, this might be really good or it might be the biggest disappointment of the bunch. Just at the sight of that I want that to be the Justice League from now on, that is an all-timer iconic cover and set of designs to introduce a group of characters, the concept’s really good, and Flash being from another universe is so cool...and the actual book is Williamson/Rocha. Rocha’s a steady hand I trust well enough, but clearly this is where Mora should have been, and you’re really leaving this to Williamson? He has done good comics, but not many. I can only hope he’s basically a placeholder setting up the status quo for a Future State Justice League imprint book same as I think PKJ and Lewis are setting up whatever Bendis is going to do later. Still, I’m not writing this off entirely, Williamson has still done some good comics and this might well be as enjoyable a two-parter as it should be. And in any case, Ram V doing future stuff with the magic characters is a win.
Aquaman: I was going to say no thanks, but the premise is a little interesting, Daniel Sampere is a good hand, and I haven’t seen Brandon Thomas’s work before but at a glance he seems to have tried some ambitious sci-fi work at Image. I’ll call this a maybe.
The Flash: Hahaha, now we’re in the shit of it. Literally there is nothing about this that would indicate it was set in the future if not for the title, a flat regurgitation of the most tired old bullshit, and it’s by a Young Justice writer to boot. Glad to know even in the future the regular Flash book is going to suck.
Teen Titans: Speaking of books we can be assured will always suck
Shazam!: Who could possibly care
Green Lantern: This one I kinda don’t blame for being nothing, Far Sector is the big Green Lantern thing in this period and they’re not gonna fuck with that so they gotta work around the fringes. Hardly sympathetic enough to get me to buy it though.
Suicide Squad: Okay, alt-Earth Flash rules, but you come up with a disabled Flash with a heavily redesigned but still recognizable and extremely rad new look - looking every inch the “Far Sector but for Flash” premise I’ve been calling for - and you put her in this nonsense? And you waste Javier Fernandez here too? I guess Robbie Thompson is passable from what I’ve seen and maybe the whole Earth 3 thing will result in this turning out alright after all, but this feels like a waste, and that’s before you get to the one story here set in the 853rd century being about Black Adam.
Immortal Wonder Woman: Oh shit this one’s gonna rule though.
Legion of Superheroes: So’s this one!
Swamp Thing: This will be excellent too but I don’t care about Swamp Thing.
Tumblr media
Wonder Woman: I’m seeing some immediate division on Wonder Woman - some like her new costume and some hate it (I think it’s really busy but like it a lot with the blues highlighted when Mora draws it), and I understand some have problems with a Brazilian Wonder Woman rooted entirely in Greek mythology rather than any sort of indigenous religion (which I am not remotely qualified to weigh in on). I’ll hope for the best, and obviously it’ll be very pretty, but I wasn’t blown away by Jones’ writing when I tried her Catwoman book, and I hope she won’t fall flat on her face regarding representation.
I’d divide this up into
* Basically no chance in hell: Harley Quinn, The Flash, Teen Titans, Shazam!, Green Lantern
* I’d need to hear good word of mouth: Dark Detective, Robins Eternal, Aquaman, Suicide Squad
* Fingers crossed, getting it but it could go either way: Superman of Metropolis, Justice League, Wonder Woman
* Yeah, I’ll grab this one, looks fun: Nightwing, Superman: Worlds of War, Kara Zor-El: Superwoman
* This is going to be really good: The Next Batman, Catwoman, Batman/Superman, Superman vs. Imperious Lex, Superman/Wonder Woman, Immortal Wonder Woman, Legion of Superheroes, and though I’m skipping it, Swamp Thing
A pretty incredible preliminary hit-miss ratio, and along with all I said before, big shoutout to Darran Robinson for across-the-board incredible logo design work. Like the Superman books mixing Morrison and Bendis, Batman is hyper-topical with a black Batman fighting super-cops who hate resistors in masks (whole Bruce can still be part of the fight but has to reckon with not being the guy in front throwing money around and setting terms anymore), Wonder Woman goes for the obvious pun, and JL feels appropriately iconic, while the rest is hit-or-miss as not central to further plans with this setting. I had zero expectations of this as anything other than Future’s End 2.0 with a couple leading into the not-5G imprint, but while I think that’s still the same basic endgame, for the most part it feels like they’re really trying with this one and I’ve got a good feeling about it.

WHUMPTOBER 2020
No. 17
Fandom: Avengers
Whumpee: Peter Parker
Caregiver: Tony Stark
Title: Blackmail, Bullets, Blood
By: PenPatronus // PenPatronusAooO
Steve was so concerned about Tony that he followed him one night. Tony walked to a small Stark Industries warehouse eight blocks from the Tower at two in the morning. Peeking through a dusty window, Steve watched as Tony loaded wooden crate after wooden crate into a white Stark Industries van. When Tony went to leave, when the garage door opened, there was Cap standing there illuminated by the headlights with his hands at his hips, looking like a mother who just caught her son’s hand in the cookie jar.
 Tony stuck his head out of the driver’s side window and shouted, “Out of my way, Rogers!”
 “I can’t do that, Stark,” Steve called back. “Not until you tell me why you’re sneaking out missiles in the middle of the night.”
 “It’s none of your damn business where I’m going with my own inventory, Rogers,” Tony spat back. Tony jumped out of the van and pushed Steve in the chest. “Now get out of here!”
 Steve caught Tony’s wrists when Stark went in to push him again. “Where are you taking those missiles? I thought Stark Industries was done with arms dealing. Who are you selling these to?”
 “Selling them?” Tony laughed. He put his hands on his knees and laughed harder. “Selling them…”
 In the bright light, Cap noticed that Tony’s skin was white and shiny with sweat. He appeared to have lost a few pounds and the crescents beneath his eyes were darker than usual. “Tony, what’s wrong with you?”
 Tony wiped his eyes with his flannel shirt sleeve. “Nothing.”
 “You’re upset and you’re hiding something from me.”
 “I’m hiding a lot of things from you. You’ll have to be more specific.”
“Tony…”
 “Cap, I really need to get going.” Stark checked his watch. “I can’t be late.”
 “Fine. I’ll go with you. I’m driving.” Steve went to pass Tony, but Stark grabbed him by the shoulders.
 “Listen to me. Just… Just listen, Steve. I can’t get you involved in this. Nobody can get involved in this. It’s just between me and…”  Tony sighed.
 “Tony, I’m your friend.” Steve put his hands on Tony’s shoulders. “I just want to help.”
 “You can’t help me,” Tony whispered. “This is the only way. This… This…” Tony’s face crumpled. Tears welled up in the corners of his eyes. “He took the kid.”
“Parker? Who?”
 “Klaue. Ulysses Klaue, the arms dealer. He has Peter. And if I don’t keep giving him missiles, he’ll kill him.” Arms fell away, and Stark took his phone out of his pocket. He opened an app Cap didn’t recognize, and showed a live feed of a prison cell. In it, a very skinny, very disheveled, very dirty Peter Parker sat in the corner with his arms around his legs, staring at the wall. “Klaue gives him one bite of bread and one sip of water for every missile I give him. And if I don’t get there soon, Peter won’t have anything to eat in the morning.”
 “He’s practically starving him,” Cap said. His face turned red. “Tony, we’re getting him out of there. Right now.”
 Stark shook his head. “Klaue said that if he sniffs even the slightest bit of trouble, he’ll kill the kid without a second thought. If one security guard sees us, if one alarm goes off – Pete’s dead.”
 Steve nodded. He gave it some thought – eyebrows frowning. “We’re going to need some help, then, aren’t we?”
 “Steve, no, I…” Tony put his face in his hands, then suddenly whirled around and punched the truck with his bare fist. “I can’t risk the kid! This is the only way to keep him alive.”
 “Tony, Klaue will eventually kill him, no matter what. We gotta get him out now.”
 Tony took three deep, settling breaths. “You’re right,” he decided. “You’re always right, Cap. So… What do we do?”
 “What we’re gonna do,” said Steve, “is rescue Parker and take down Klaue at the same time. And, fortunately, we have some very Ninja-like assassins who can get the kid out before Klaue even knows we’re there.”
 ----------
 Tony stood on the dock outside Klaue’s seaside warehouse and watched the arms dealer’s men unload the missiles from the van. The only light was the moon over the water and one flickering snot-colored lightbulb above the entrance. Tony pulled his baseball cap down and folded his arms against his chest. Autumn was just about to exit the stage, and the East Coast had been promised an extra cold winter.
 Klaue emerged from his office wearing a pit-stained white button down shirt over dirty jeans. He had a toothpick in his mouth and an assault rifle over his shoulder. “Mr. Stark,” he greeted, “my most loyal supplier. I’m told you’re five missiles short today.”
 Tony held up his palms. “My own supplier let me down, Klaue. But I brought you something to make up for it. Look in the back seat.” Klaue nodded at his henchmen. One opened the van and an unconscious, tied-up, beat-up Steve Rogers came tumbling out, rolling across the wooden dock.
 Klaue clapped his hands together. “Quite a gift!” he exclaimed. “I know some underground scientists who will pay quite a lot for a specimen like this.” He motioned for his henchmen. Tony expected Klaue to order them to take Steve inside but, instead, they lifted him to his feet. Klaue approached Steve, said, “I know you’re awake, Captain,” and smacked Steve across the face. Cap coughed and spit out a tooth.
 “Let me guess what your plan was,” Klaue said, attention back on Tony. “I put Rogers in the same cell with Parker, together with their combined strength they break through the bars, and then they sneak out – escaping from under my nose, yes?”
 Tony pursed his lips together so hard that they turned white. “Listen, Klaue, I just want the kid. I’ll give you whatever you ask, just give me the kid back.”
 “We all want things, Stark. I want to own a Caribbean island. And, I’m only five mil short of it. And now, here you are, interfering with my dream, trying to take it away.” Klaue shook his head. “Tisk, tisk,” he said, waggling his forefinger. “I told you I’d kill the kid if you interfered. But, I think I’ll do you one better. I think, right in front of your eyes, I’ll kill all four of them.”
 “Four?”
 A garage door opened and a half dozen henchmen wearing thick jackets and caps over their faces exited with a very bloodied, very beat up Peter, Clint, and Natasha. Klaue gave the order to stand them next to Cap, then he ordered all four of them to their knees. His goons pushed them down and aimed guns at their backs.
 “I’m sorry, Mr. Stark,” Peter whimpered.
 Tony shook his head. “I let you down, kid. I’m so, so sorry.”
 Klaue was soaking up the moment like sunshine. “This is lovely. Half the world wants you all dead and here I am, little old me, holding each of your lives in my hands. I really should sell tickets to this.”
 “Enough, Klaue,” Tony barked. “I want my team free. I’ll give you anything, anything you want.”
 “Anything, huh?” Klaue tapped his chin. “What if what I want is for you to see your friends die?” He nodded at his henchman. “Kill Barton.”
 “NO!” Tony screamed. He was too late. The henchman shot Clint in the back. Barton collapsed forward onto the dock. He didn’t move.
 “Clint!” Nat sobbed.
 Klaue suddenly cocked and aimed his weapon. “Who’s next?” he asked, aiming the gun first at Peter, and then at Natasha, and then at Steve. “Which one of your friends is next?”
 Tony saw movement in his peripheral vision, and it took all his concentration not to look at the roof of the warehouse. “Klaue?” Tony said, his posture straight now, his classic smirk back on his face, “would you like to guess what happens when a warehouse full of volatile weapons gets hit by a bolt of lightning?” Tony looked up at the roof.
 Klaue followed his gaze. Thor waved down at the crowd, then raised his hammer.
 “Get him!” Klaus screamed, and he and all his henchmen turned to fire. At that precise moment Bruce Banner, who’d disguised himself as the very goon who shot Barton in his bulletproof vest, pivoted and hit Klaue in the shoulder with a bullet. Klaue tumbled backwards off the dock and into the water. His rifle spat a half-dozen times as he fell.
 Natasha flipped to her feet. Barton rolled over and somersaulted backwards. Steve broke out of his bonds instantly. While those three kept the henchmen from shooting Thor, Peter sprinted into Tony’s arms. Stark caught him and lifted him off his feet, so happy was he. “Into the van, kid,” Tony ordered. “Everyone in the van, now!” he shouted. He could feel the dock rumbling as more of Klaue’s goons were heading their way. Barton, Banner, and Rogers dove into the back of the white van. Natasha got in the driver’s seat while Tony pushed Peter into the back seat. Tony yanked the door shut and shouted, “Heads down!”
 Outside, Thor rose into the air, summoned lightning, and slammed it down into the weapons compound. The place exploded in a massive mushroom cloud. But seconds before it did, Thor picked up the van and flew it out of danger. He set it on the street six blocks away and opened the door, revealing his disheveled but whole friends. “Sorry I was late,” the god said. “I was with Jane and I didn’t get your message and... Why didn’t you wait for me?”
 “Because we had to get there by a deadline!” Tony shouted at him. He sat against the far door with his arms around Peter, who was leaning back against him. “You cut it pretty damn close you big Norse piece of—” Tony felt something warm on his shirt. He looked down and saw dark liquid against his shoulder. It was blood, blood that wasn’t his. One of Klaue’s shots had hit a target.
 “PETE!”
 Peter had gone limp. He fell back into Tony’s arms, smearing blood from his shot up shoulder down the rest of Tony’s shirt. Stark tossed his hat away and adjusted Peter’s body so that the kid was cradled in his lap. “Nat! Hospital! Now!” Tony shouted.
 A tear slid down Peter’s cheek. “Thanks for coming for me,” he said between hitched breaths. “Thank you, Mr. Stark.”
 “Kid, hang on, we’ll get you some help in a second, in just a second, all right?”
 Peter licked his white lips. “It hurts,” he whispered.
 Tony’s heart clenched like a fist. He looked at his wide-eyed friends who were just as helpless as he was. “Hang on, kid,” was all he could think to say. Adrenaline burned through him and his face flushed. “Just hang on, Pete.”
 ---------
 May exited Peter’s hospital room with a fake smile that instantly disintegrated once she was sure she was out of her nephew’s eyeline. Tony stood up from a hallway bench and she hugged him. “He’s so brave,” she sobbed in his ear. “He’s incredible.”
 Tony nodded. He sniffed, and then held May at arm’s length. “He is. He’s an incredible kid.”
 “He wants to talk to you.”
 “Ok.” Tony took a deep breath. “Ok.”
 The kid was asleep when he walked in, so Tony had time to sit in a chair beside the bed and relive every moment of the “rescue.” He should’ve done better. He should’ve acted faster. He should’ve this, he should’ve that…
 “Mr. Stark?”
 Tony shot to his feet. He leaned over the hospital bed and smiled at Peter without showing his teeth. “Hey, kid. How ya feeling?”
 Tears sprung to Peter’s eyes. “I’m sorry,” he cried. “I’m so sorry. None of this would’ve happened if it weren’t for me. The others – are they all right? God, Mr. Stark, I’m so sorry. I deserve to be—”
 Tony held up his finger and made a sound that resembled a game show buzzer. “Don’t,” he ordered softly. “Don’t do that, kid. That’s a dark road I’ve traveled, and I won’t let you go down it. None of this was your fault, you understand? None of it. And the others are fine. You’re fine. Everything’s fine.”
 Peter frowned at him. “Mr. Stark? Are you fine? You’re—you’re crying.”
 Tony didn’t even realize it. He wiped his eyes dry. “Joyful tears, kid.” Then, without thinking about it, he leaned in and kissed the kid on the forehead. “Glad you’re ok,” he whispered, “so glad, Pete.”

Fall Like Rain On Sunday, Pt. 12
The next waffle was perfect, crispy golden and almost a perfect circle, with beautiful melted pools of chocolate dotting the surface, with two almost perfectly in the Eevee pattern’s eyes, and Jason passed it over to Steph’s plate as he chanted a few Latin prayers, grinning as she burst into cackles at his terrible imitation of a priest. He’d utterly butchered the old prayers, but eh, it wasn’t like he was practicing anymore, and it made Steph laugh, so he still felt it was doing right by a God he’d long since stopped believing in.
“Oh god, you’re Catholic, aren’t you?”
“Eh, technically I’m a Resurrectionist—” She snorted at that, loud and adorable and perfect (everyone always looked weirded out, and Jason had, early on, always done his best to snort the same way. Weird dead Robins had to look out for one another.) He snickered in response. “But yes, I’m a former Catholic. Used to go to St. Maria’s as a kid, before Father John cleaned the place up.”
“…And the chanting?”
“Look, we only fucked up one waffle! Gotta bless it before shit goes south again.” She laughed at that, bold and happy and loud, and he planted kisses all over her face before turning back to the waffle maker and getting it going again. Glancing back over his shoulder, Jason grinned to see Steph holding up a fork with a triangle of waffle, topped with whipped cream and one of the raspberries she’d washed up, and he took the offering with a nom, groaning as the concoction melted in his mouth. Chewing, he gave her a thumbs up, already planning on making one for himself, and she chuckled, spraying on whipped cream and tossing on raspberries with abandon, then diving right in.
“Ooohhhhh this is soooooo good.”
“And somewhat healthy, that’s the lowfat whipped cream and everything’s organic.” He grinned after swallowing his mouthful of heaven, mouth watering already as he watched the waffle maker count down with hungry eyes; together, they switched off and a half-dozen waffles for each later, plus bacon and eggs, they were settled on Steph’s tiny couch and snuggled up close, groaning over their shared food babies. Jason had tucked a warm blanket over them both, because the rain coming down outside was just a little chilly for his tastes, and her apartment was…definitely on the list to be reno’d.
“…mmm…”
“Hmm?”
“This is really nice, Jay…”
“Yeah it is…” He murmured, tucking her head into his shoulder and pressing a kiss to her forehead, scarred fingers gently playing with a long curl of her hair before shifting to comb through the rest of her curls, making her purr against his neck.
“Ohhhh yes…please don’t stop…” He chuckled and shifted just a little so that he could bring his other hand up; with both hands, he started working on the knots in her neck and shoulders, on up into her scalp and back down, careful to comb away her soft curls so that they didn’t tangle. Steph melted into his chest, all the tension from the week just falling away as they snuggled to the song of rain and thunder outside, and Jason hummed softly as she whimpered at the release of one particularly bad knot in her right shoulder.
“You okay, sweetheart?”
“Yeah…fuck…been hurting there for a while now…”
“Why didn’t you say something?” She snorted softly, then sighed.
“You know how everyone is…”Do yoga, work it out, or just deal with it.” Jason heaved a heavy sigh himself at that, wincing.
“Touché, not being a part of the daily Batdrama made me forget about Bruce’s general masochism about pain and aches. Well, tell ya what; whenever either of us is hurting, how about we either work on each other, or go see an expert? I’ll foot the bill.”
“Yes, please. I’m…well, I don’t know how to massage someone properly? I’m guessing you learned from Alfred…”
“Talia, actually, and Nyssa while she was part of the League. Ra’s thinks it’s stupid, because it’s a ‘women’s weakness’ or some bullshit, but Talia and Nyssa both used massage as a tool, among their subordinates and with one another. And me, I guess, I was the odd duck out; most of the men were under Ra’s, while Talia’s personal guard was exclusively female.”
“She knew you, though.” Jason smiled at that, sad at the memories, and nodded, kissing her cheek now as Steph shifted up to meet his eyes. He normally didn’t like making a lot of eye contact with people, hence the hood, but Steph…it was different. Like Nyssa, in a way…Talia I never did, because she would take that as a challenge, but Nyssa and I grew to be good friends, and it was…easy with her. B always thought I was interested in her, but no; she’s just a familiar soul, I suppose. Steph, however, was even easier; there was always something in her gaze that reminded him of his own reflection, and he was sure that could be psychoanalyzed into oblivion, but he wasn’t gonna go that deep.
“She did. Damian…probably doesn’t remember all that well, but I was basically his babysitter for Talia for the short time I was there; she trusted a Robin, even one as much a zombie as I was at first, because even with the Pit madness, I was…well. Protective.” She smiled a little, and he smiled back, stroking her cheek now. “I never shoulda left him there, but…well…”
“You did what you could.”
“Yeah…and Talia was fine with me kiting off; taking Damian would have gotten me killed again. I’m just so glad she turned him over to Bruce…”
“Me too. It’s…B’s not the greatest parent, but he’s really working with Damian, which is huge given the crap he’s pulled with all of us.” Jason chuckled at that, nuzzling her cheek, and she kissed him softly, settling against his side. He tucked her close, pulling the blanket up over her shoulders, and rubbed her lower back now, grinning as she melted back into his shoulder.
“I think Damian reminds him of Dick, in a lot of ways, just more aggression, like me. So, instead of Tim, who’s learned, like Bruce, to control all his emotions in one clean, collected package, he has a Robin with attitude and a whole lotta baggage again, and he’s having to jump through hoops that he could largely train out of both Dick and I. Fortunately, Damian’s just as stubborn as B, and it’s kinda great that he’s been able to force some changes of his own.” Steph chuckled at that.
“Like Batcow, Alfred the Cat, Titus…”
“Fuckin’ Goliath, and lemme tell you, Demon Kitty was not on the list of potential pets B was willing to consider.”
“Which was why Damian just brought him home and didn’t care.” Jason snickered, laughter rumbling through his chest, which made Steph snuggle in more, much to his delight.
“Yup, and the look on B’s face is one I’ll treasure forever.” She giggled, and kissed him again, and Jason melted into the kiss, groaning when her hand started rubbing up and down his neck. He rolled a little more onto his side so that her arm didn’t cramp, and let out a full body sigh, snuggling around her. “Ohhhh baby you don’t have to…”
“I want to, Jay…tell me if I do something wrong?”
“I doubt you will, but yes, if it comes up…fuuuuuuuuuuuck oh hell yeah, right there.” He almost whimpered when she started scritching his scalp, nuzzling her hair with a moan of relief. It was better than sex, in a way; this was…grounding, and comforting, and more intimate. “Ffffucksofuckinggood.”
“This is for making me waffles, you amazing, wonderful, glorious man. I’m not sure I’m ready for sex yet, so hairscritches are at least a decent substitute?”
“Sosogoodbetterthansex.” He mumbled out, and she giggled again, shifting him so that he was facedown in the pillows and Steph was straddling his hips, working her hands up and down his back over his teeshirt, and Jason just went limp, eyes rolling with relief as his scarred muscles were carefully worked free of kinks and knots. Steph had said she hadn’t a clue, but she was gentle on his back, not pressing too hard, nor was she too light on the scars; her hands were softer than his, less callused, and so the gnarled skin over each old wound didn’t tense or ache from too much sensation. She mapped out his back with care, and with a sigh, he reached a hand back and patted her thigh.
“Babe, don’t let anyone ever tell you you’re not a genius, because that is amazing.” He could almost feel the brightness of her smile, and he chuckled as she leaned down to kiss his shoulder, purring at the warmth of her body on top of his. “Seriously.”
“I’m so glad…I hope your scars aren’t hurting?”
“Definitely not, not even twinging like usual from the rain…How about you?” She sighed a little, snuggling in closer, and he craned his neck around, worried. “Babe?”
“I’m…a little achy, but it’s in weird spots…I don’t wanna be gross…” She murmured, nuzzling his shoulder, and he gently rubbed his hand up and down her thigh, ignoring the awkward position.
“…It’s not gross if it’s things that hurt.” He murmured, and she shifted back, letting him turn and face her, green eyes earnest. “Cramps? Period? I can run out and get you whatever you need?” She blushed, shaking her head, then nodded, then sighed, and he gently drew her back into his arms, tucking her between his legs and wrapping the blanket around her, snuggling her close. “The scars Sionis gave you too?”
“…Yeah. I…Look, this is gonna be…really fuckin’ gross, but when he tortured me…he…he didn’t just limit himself to my stomach and breasts…” She murmured, gulping a little, and he closed his eyes, swallowing back the sudden rage. “He didn’t put the drill in me, thank fuck for that, but things are…kinda fucked up down there. And yeah, it’s my period going, so it’s just…extra gross…” Steph blushed bright red, and he gently stroked back her curls, eyes soft, patient. “…I have to wear the disposable underwear that old people use…”
“…Oh sweetheart, that’s okay. Does it work?” She glanced up, eyes brimming with tears, and he gently kissed her brow, her cheek, her nose, her lips, brushing soft kisses all over her face, but she nodded, one lone tear overflowing. He gently brushed it away, cupping her cheek. “Then that’s all that matters to me. I won’t be grossed out, I won’t be upset. Hell…when you do see me naked, you might run away. I’m…not exactly in great shape down there, either. Missing one of my balls and my dick ain’t the straightest.” He followed that with a fake grin, still embarrassed, deep down, but she saw right through him; Steph shook her head and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“If Roy and the others didn’t care…I won’t. Besides…” She huffed out a laugh, and he felt a real smile touch his lips again. “It just means we can be fucked up together. But…thank you for not being grossed out anyway. It’s…you’re the first person to know besides B and Leslie…and B only knows because he hacked the hospital records. And you’re the only person who’s…probably ever gonna see them, which…I’m fine with.” He smiled at that, and she smiled back, kissing him softly. “So long as you intend to keep that proposal available.”
“Baby, it’s all yours; hell, we could go out one of these days and get a set of rings.”
“…You really want a set?”
“Fuck yeah I do, I wanna be a kept man.” The snort she gave was absolutely adorable, and Jason grinned wide at that, feeling their previous good mood return finally, and Steph kissed him, full and happy and perfect, before snuggling back into his chest.
“…So, kept man…could you rub my lower back again? Cramps are hitting me hard…” He placed his hands over her hips, gently rubbing and warming the area, and Steph sighed, dropping her head onto his shoulder, the tension bleeding out of her limbs. “Fuck…thank you…”
“So welcome, sugar…Wanna watch something mindless?” She smiled, and as Jason grabbed the remote, she let out a soft sigh, snuggling in closer, and he pressed a soft kiss to her forehead once more, running his hand over her lower back and keeping her safe and warm.
Yeah.
He really loved Sundays.
