Really feeling that Baldur's Gate 3 FOMO tonight, especially where Astarion is concerned 😩😩

I was literally looking at Gaming PCs online, even though I shouldn't get one right now. Though I didn't even think about places having a Labor Day sale! I think what I'm gonna do, is try to save up as much as I can the next few months, and then take a look on Black Friday, cause the deals might be good enough I could swing one then. And yet he felt himself drawn to you.

He didn’t understand any of this. He didn’t understand you and he wasn’t sure he wanted to.

But when you’d held his hand and compared the sizes, or when he’d watched you serve the most delicious food he’d ever tasted to his men, or even when you’d hide behind him after Baur had been particularly loud, he’d felt this odd feeling in his stomach. Like the frogs or bugs he’d eaten had come alive, although that surely would’ve been impossible. 

He first guessed you had lied about being magicless and that you’d put some kind of spell on him. He ruled that out quickly - he was a Fae, he knew what magic felt like. But then, what was he feeling? And how could he cure it? 

He looked over at you, sitting on the grass, preparing the camp’s food with a smile on your face. The light of the sunset seemed to strike you, basking you in pure light.

His throat felt tight. His heartbeat rang in his ears.

He tore his eyes away, forcing himself to stare at the grass, his hands, anything.

And yet he found himself looking at you again.

Maybe this is what those humans called love…?

He shoved that thought out of his head. He couldn’t love. He was incapable of feeling any love. All he had was positive regard for his allies and hatred for his foes. That’s what drove him. He couldn’t feel that way.

Could he…?

Maybe, he thought, gazing your way, with a whole lot of luck, you can teach me to understand.

Nonhuman Au Lilia

Will sleep upside down.

Will climb around on walls like a little demon to scare the heck out of you guys.

Eats the stuff he usually does but will also eat the occasional random bug… if a fly is buzzing towards him he will just casually open his mouth and let it fly in, and then eat it. He knows you think it's gross and will purposely try to get a kiss afterward.

Did you know most bats have tails? Lilia has one but it's little and not noticeable unless he has his pants off.

He's got dark fur on most of him but it's short everywhere except a patch of floof on his chest. Totally fine with you sticking your face in there and even tries to tantalize you into doing so. He is very good with his grooming, look at how soft and fluffy he is there. Totally perfect for a human to bury their face into.

He has a cute little bat nose and a big old set of bat ears.

As stated before, he has two other forms he can switch into: A big scary sexy bat monster and…an adorable little actual bat that you can keep in your pocket.

Imagine Sebek’s big scaly self coming up to you demanding to know where Master Lilia is. No, don't try hiding it, his superior fae senses smell him on you.

You proceed to unbutton your uniform shirt causing Sebek to let out a shriek of “Good heavens!” and cover his face. He's about to yell stuff at you about indecency but stops when he hears the familiar laugh of Lilia, moving his hands from his eyes he sees a very cozy bat Lilia nestled into your cleavage/chest.

He also very much enjoys being pampered and fed in this form, yes tell him how cute he is as you hand-feed him his favorites. The old man deserves this after everything he's been through.

Interesting fact, male bats gather in large groups and compete for the attention of females. When doing so the males emit high-pitched calls to attract females, and females choose their mates based on these calls. So, for him, I can imagine he's gonna try serenading you as a way to attract you as his mate, funny how being in the music club fits. I wonder if Cater and Kalim will try to help their club homie out. Gonna get a free concert outside your window.

Well, either that or you're gonna get a bat demi human randomly screeching at you in an attempt of seduction.

Once your mates? The hand in the video is going to be you but you're gonna get mlemed by a WAY bigger bat.

Know Your Neopronouns

If you look around online, you can find lists of neopronouns. (Neopronouns are words that get can be used instead of 'he' or 'she' when refering to someone.) Most show just the first 2 terms (‘Ey/Em,’ or ‘Ze/Zim’). Few provide any info about how to pronounce them. And even less provide examples of how messy real usage is. This guide is an attempt to show how real people are using neopronouns. It’s based off the data of the 2020-2023 (Nonbinary) Gender Censuses.

English Pronoun Sets include:

Subject (the person acting) – ie. They

Object (the person the action is happening to) – ie. Them

Dependent Possessive (ownership, thing owned is named) - ie. Their

Independent Possessive (ownership, thing owned is not named) – ie. Theirs

Reflexive (action affecting the person who is acting) – ie. Themself

In a sentence:

They walked in and told me their name was Chris. I said hi, and showed them the name tags. They found theirs and put it on themself.

Neopronouns come in 3 flavours:

The first type is based off the most common English personal pronouns:

‘They/Them/Their/Theirs/Themself (or Themselves)’

‘He/Him/His/His/Himself’

‘She/Her/Her/Hers/Herself’

This type of neopronoun usually mimics the ending sounds of one or more of the common pronoun sets. For example, ‘Ze/Zem’ pronouns are based on ‘he’ and ‘them.’

The second type includes pronouns not usually used as personal pronouns (like indefinite ('One'), neuter ('It'), or definite (‘that’)). It also includes neopronouns derived from them ('Thon').

The third type is based on various nouns not usually considered related to gender at all ('Star' or 'Pup'). These are called ‘nounself pronouns.’

I’ve listed both the common pronouns, as well as the most used neopronouns. For each entry, I include a variety of forms and spellings. I do my best to provide pronunciation. (I have not heard all of them pronounced, and what little I was able to find online might not match what real people are saying.) A note on defining sets:

Deciding what to consider a variant, and what to consider a different set altogether, wasn't easy.

Elverson and Spivak pronouns are mostly separated because of their history, and how (relatively) well known they are. I then tried to stay consistent, and separated things like 'ze' and 'zey' sets.

Animal and sound based nounself pronouns are grouped based on how difficult it was to separate them. A relatively high percentage of people wrote 'kit' and 'cat' forms into the same entry. Less people grouped 'mew' and 'nya' forms. And, while 'mew' and 'nya' forms were FREQUENTLY grouped with 'kit' and 'cat' forms, I kept them separate for my own sanity.

I am also VERY glad that 'sie/sier' pronouns didn't make the top 25. 'Sie', 'se', 'sea', 'ce', and 'ke' are probably unsortable without talking to their users individually. (There's at least three pronunciations in there - 'zee', see' and 'kee'!) But I love the 4 people using 'sir' as a pronoun. That amuses me!

WIP: The Conjunction of the Spheres occurs shortly after the events of ACOWAR and reintroduces the Ash tree to the realm. Humans from Prythia know what this can do and utilize it to rise up and finally take their power back from the Fae who have treated them like second class for centuries. A few fae survive and have to figure out how to integrate into this new society without losing their heads.

WIP: The High Lords of Prythia catch wind of Rhysand and Feyres plan to claim the title of High King and High Queen. Still driven by his love for Feyre, Tamlin travels to Night to warn them of the armies rallying against them. The Lord and Lady of Night send the Spring Lord away, disgusted that he would think they would need HIS help. After a grueling defeat, as Feyres bleeding out, he final words to her son, Nyx, are "Find Tamlin. He will help you."

DRAGON BLOOD CURSE AU, Pt 1 of ask

Sera is franctically looking around, blocking the shock of seing Carmilla completelly. Emilly was just recently born and she already lost her! That can't be! She hears a soft giggle in the corner and her gaze falls on a dark figure holding her little one. She glares and almost goes to attack him.

Luckilly, the figure gave her Emilly almost immediatelly after noticing her panicked state. Upon recieving Emily into her arms, Sera instantly calms down. She craddles the little one close to her, admiring the joy on her little face.

After a few minutes, when her mind has returned to the right state and she slowly turned to Carmilla.

"Hello, Love", a soft voice leaves Sera's mouth. Carmilla is standing there, looking at Sera and then Emily. Carmilla wants to respond, to say anything, ask about the little one, hold them both in her arms.

"Hi, Carina." Sera smiles at her, coming a bit closer. SCarmilla moves her arms towards Sera, wanting to try to hold Emily, but retracts. Emilly is a lot smaller then her girls were. What if she hurts her?

Sera is having none of it.

She places the bundle of joy into Carmilla's arms. Carmilla is struck with huge white eyes, surrounded by blue, like a cloud laying sround in the sky. The small being giggles, showing her gummy smile and babbles a bit. Such a fragile little one.

"She is so little... I wish I could have been there for you... By your side..."

Meanwhile 10 year old Odette an Clara are watching on the side. They were unsure about the situation going on and are just observing them. Carmilla notices and invites them forward.

Sera gasps when she sees them. "How long has it been since you were exiled dear?"

Carmilla sighs and looks away from Sera. She pets the twins on their heads."10 human years... Or 10 summers."

Sera repels and chokes back a sob. "I should have come sooner."

"You couldn't have done anything dear. We both know how commplecated fae dymension is. Time is never linear. You could have ended up somewhere further in the future or far past. I am just glad you are here." Carmilla softly kissed Sera's cheek, embracing her with Emily between them.

The embrace is a bit akward. For Carmilla, due the time passage, for Sera, due to new form of Carmilla's. The twins are standing akwardly on the side, wondering who the heck is this chick? And why is she hugging mama?!? That's their mama!!! They growl a bit under their breath. Dragon part of them is a bit possesive.

As Carmilla hears little growls she moves away from Sera to look at the dragon fae twins. "Mijas, this is Sera. She is your other mama."

The girls stare at the woman up and down.  The woman resembles them quite a bit. But...

Their thought were distrupted for a moment by BIRD FEET. Their other momma has bird feet!!! Is that why they are so fluffy? And those wings on her back. There is six of them. Bug like wings, all different sets. They are pretty certain they are from a beetle, dragonfly and a bee. They both had sparkels in their eyes. Clara was first to react.

Clara:"You are so pretty!"

Odette: "And those wings are so interesting. How many bugs are you made of? And what kind of bird feet are those. They look like ravens."

Clara: "Can you fly with those? They look so fragile. And you are so tall. Doesnt make sense at all."

Odette shakes her head: "Clara, calm down. We got distracted, that wasn't the first objective. Those questions were supposed to come later."

Clara: "Oh yeah... Right."

Sera is amused by the twins actions. She watched them in fascination. She missed so much of their childhood.... So much. and now they are grown.

Her train of thought was broken by Clara's next question. "Where were you?"

Sadness fills Sera's heart. The words caught in Sera's throat but she swallowed the discomfort. It was a small price to pay to finally be reunited with her love and their daughters.

"I was in Fae realm, time works differently there- If we stayed together and council hasn't exiled your mother, you and Emily would have all grown up together and been the same age. "

Eris Week - Day 2: High Lord | Heir

Relief

Prompt - How does Eris de-stress and cope with his new responsibilities as the High Lord? Does he have any personal hobbies, rituals, or places of solace?

Summary - Amelia has begun to notice Eris is hiding away in the library more and more as his duties as high lord begin to pick up. Hoping to reconnect with her mate and husband, she offers him the one outlet she knows has always brought Eris calm and relaxation.

A/N - Happy day two of @erisweek2023 my fellow Vanserra lovers 💜 I'm welcoming Amelia back into my posts. I'm excited to bring the story of these two lovers to life soon.

Eris leaned back into the oversized chair he had begun to sit in nightly. He always found the silence of the libraries late into the night was one of the only things that calmed his mind, but it had become his haven now after days of long grueling meetings, fights with his brothers, and court relationship repairs he felt were never ending.

He sighed as he read the history of his family one more time. A note pad of things the long line of Vanserras had been praised for or that improved the court was littered with his quick scratched handwriting. He jotted down a long note regarding a great great grandfather's laws on the yearly tithe versus a slow taxation system that allowed fae to pay taxes over the year instead of in one lump sum. He had been praised for it, and Eris desperately sought that praise from the fae in his realm.

He felt the bond tug in his ribcage. He waited before tugging it back, hoping his mate would just stay in their room tonight. He had so much work, and even if he knew this was beginning to eat at their relationship, he needed to finish it. They had not spent a night together since Beron's death, they had not laid together since weeks leading to his death. They hardly ate together or saw each other in the past month. Another harsher tug came, and he ignored it.

The large oak door opened, causing him to pause slightly before continuing his cross research from a book Helion had loaned him on Day Court tax practices. His staff would leave the young High Lord. After he had accidentally snapped at a poor kitchen girl, they knew to allow their budding High Lord moments of silence and time. His mate, however, she had no shame in bugging his husband. Another tug came from the bond, closer this time, causing Eris to pause mid page turn. Amelia smiled softly at him as he looked up from his book.

She slowly pulled the crystal decanter of whiskey and glass out from behind her back. "Would you like this?" Eris was frozen as he took in Amelia's outfit, or lack of. Her tanned golden skin was exposed. Red lace adorning her curves along with a silky red robe. Her long sandy blonde hair was falling in waves around her reaching her hips. Pretty black heels graced her feet, making her legs look even longer.

The double meaning to her words did not slip past his mind. He felt his throat going tight as he swallowed thickly. "Of course I do. What did I do to deserve this lovely treat?" He had hoped his voice was hiding how aroused he was.

"You have been working so hard," Amelia set the whiskey decanter and fine crystal glass down on the table next to him. "Locked away in your office for hours at a time," she moved his book out of his hands, setting it down as well before straddling his lap. "Forced to deal with cranky old males who feel you aren't doing well enough," she kissed his lips quickly, "I felt your stress peaking today during the meeting with your advisors, and I thought to myself, "hmm what does my mate love? What would make him so very happy?" And then I remembered this pretty little thing, and I may have stolen your favorite whiskey from Rhysand. And the glass. And the decanter."

Eris chuckled slightly, his eyes lighting up at her smile. "You stole from the Night Court uncaught?" She hummed and nodded before kissing his lips lightly.

He then groaned, his head falling back as Amelia turned slightly, brushing against him just enough to cause the High Lord to lose himself and his composure. She poured the stolen whiskey into the crystal glass and set the decanter back down, her breasts near his face as she reached.

"I want to help you destress," she handed him the glass, watching as he brought it to his lips, eyes glued on her. He watched as she lowered her lips to his neck and began to slowly kiss along his pulse point.

He needed to regain control of the situation. The thought of anyone, a male especially, seeing his mate like this was enough to make him want to burn the world down one place at a time. "Amelia, we are in the library. We can-"

One of her fingers came to his lips as she ground down on him. "Just relax, Eris. The servants are all in bed. I banished them for the night. I told them to all go enjoy a night off at the tavern on us." He threw his head back, groaning loudly again as she began to grind down on him again.

He took another drink. Sighing contently as her small hands began to unbutton his shirt. Her long nails ran the pale skin of his chest. Digging just enough to make him moan out again. He knew what she was doing, what she was offering. And in this moment, Eris was more than happy to take it from her.

"If you want to help me relax, little bunny," Eris paused, gripping her hip tightly with one hand and pulling her long hair with the other. "Then get on your knees." He smirked as she got down and went between his knees, watching as he untied his leathers to free himself from his pants.

Her hands went behind her back, like he had trained her to do, and she looked up at him, eyes wide in submission. "Such a good girl for your high lord," Eris purred as he ran his hands through her hair and held it in one hand. "Now open your mouth."

silver makes you handmade flower crowns that match the color of your eyes. he made one for himself, too, as a way to match with yours. it initially takes him a little effort to decide what kind of flower to gift you, but with the help of a few woodland critters, the young man was able to find the perfect flower to crown your beautiful figure. he'd even enchanted the stems and petals as he wove each one together, using a simple potion he had gotten from his father that would help the flowers last an eternity. all that was left was to give them to you. he hoped you would accept not only the crown, but his feelings as well.

Irredeamable developpement retrospective Part 3: The fountain So just as presented in the last part, this was my attempt at creating a single complex and interconnected setting for all of my games. I even had a bunch of games planned for this, including one some of you may have seen before.

This game was made on a whole other engine, so i won`t linger too much on it, but the planned story was about a small elf huntress, ascending the great titan (giant tree) to find increasingly imposing preys to hunt, such as troglodytes (giant frog people), drakes, wyrms, other sentient bugs and concluding on a battle with the nevermore, a black crow/dragon that served as the god of the tree.

Anyway, back to our actual game. The fountain took place in a nexus between several worlds, where several species from all over the multiverse lived, including humans, lizardfolk, goblins, elves, trolls, and several races of fae. At the heart of this world, was the coveted fountain, a well of pure magic that was the source of all reality and could remake it to the whims of any who were bold enough to find and use it.

From this premise, a main game was planned, an epic journey through the crossroads of lands, where a group from different races would meet and unite in their common quest to find the fountain and achieve their deepest wishes.

So the journey starts on human lands, a continent consisting of mostly deserts. The fountain is where i finally settled on an aesthetic for humans, making them mechanical, and fire-themed. They usually wield guns and use the metal, oil, and coal of their land to build fiery machines and factories. Other stories also give them the ability to nearly fully mechanize their bodies, turning themselves into metal demons. the second area would have been the lizardfolks/mermaid archipelago (don't ask why they are the second to last area in the plans, i dont know either) These would be themed around water and serve as an artificial/life amphibious force, working under the centaurians from the last few settings. The mermaids specifically were centaurians-humans hybrid, hence why they have features of both. Then the group arrives upon the mainland, where they are met with an overgrown swamp, infested with demi-fae, a group of several races mixed with fae blood, giving them the ability to use magic. This is followed by a series of urbanized forests controlled by the tiny, but industrious elves who are able to build dozens of man-sized war machines. The last obstacle on the journey is the shadowlands, a dark, cold, and desolated region, guarded by a race of ancient stone creatures. These old traditionalists and users of mystical shadow arts despise change and will do anything to prevent the fountain from being tampered with. ( i remember hearing the line "dwarves are incorruptible as stone" in shadow of mordor and it stuck in my head ever since, becoming a defining aspect of the trolls in my own stories.") And finally, the fountain, a place of infinite potential and home of the Fae, creatures that have been encountered during the whole journey, avatars of magic, nature and change. The fountain is a fantastical realm, a city of candy, floating over an ever-flowing lake of golden honey. The purest of faes reside in this realm, but they are far from the nature-loving beings met in the outside world. These Faes are cruel and ravenous, eager to consume the world and make a new one that will one day also be ruthlessly consumed.

Anyway, as you can tell from all the lore, i ended up putting a whole lot of effort into that setting. There was even supposed to be a whole second half of the game where the characters made their wish and the world would be twisted by the Fae magic into nightmares that would have to be fought and repelled before they replaced the region. We are slowly, but surely getting close to the end of this retrospective. Next we will go into the game that ended up giving irredeamable much of its mechanics. A small, self-contained story that ended up bridging the gap between the fountain and the current setting i have been building. See you in part 4: The city of dolls.

There’s a legend about this place. Shen Yuan has heard it a hundred times, a thousand, in different permutations depending on the teller. In some versions, a demon lord with horns and fangs and glowing red eyes roams the wilds, stealing pretty young women from their beds for some nefarious purpose. In others, a powerful fae prince leads the Wild Hunt on moonless nights; those who hear the baying of their hounds may be tempted to join them, never to be seen again. Still others tell of a local man stolen by the fae many years ago for his famed beauty, who is still occasionally spotted leading lost souls out of the forest.

Whoever he is, Shen Yuan thinks he must be lonely.

Because of certain advantages that they give, a lot of 21st century companies actually encourage their workers to become various types of monsters. Witches can cast helpful spells. Werewolves are bigger and stronger than humans in their wolf form. People infected with fae "madness" often have physical abilities other people don't. Demons don't eat or sleep and don't physically injure easily. And the list goes on. Monsters are still very marginalized, and the people who own these companies would never think to become one, but they're seen as the ultimate workers by many, the perfect dehumanization. Most people still don't want to become monsters for many reasons, but that's not the same as what companies want from people.

Your roommate is a musician, she's semi successful, specially as a singer. Legally her employer can't request she become a vampire but they're heavily pushing for it, she's ultimately free to do what she wants, but they make sure to let her know becoming one is what she needs for her singing career to take off. She's twenty three right now, every year she ages she's considered "less appealing" to audiences, but if something were to happen to make her stop aging entirely every music producer in the city would suddenly consider her a more valuable asset.

Eventually she orders some vampire venom, the stuff that makes people turn when they survive a vampire bite, online off of the grey market. She's weirdly excited for it. She has one last night of eating solid food, enjoying her favorite meals before she can't anymore. Every time she has second thoughts she asks you or one of her other friends to stop her, because it's not like she's exactly going to have a job if she doesn't do this. She takes some time at the meusum to learn a bit about vampire culture. Watches the sun set incase she's not able to see the sun when she changes. She asks you if you want to have sex with her, because so many vampires are asexual she knows this could be her last time for that too. You ask her what she think she'll miss most about humanity, she says she doesn't know, vampires are so diverse she won't know what she'll lose or gain. Then she falls asleep for the last time as a human, and lets the venom flow through her blood.

When she wakes up you hear a horrible noise. See, vampires are very diverse, immortality and bloodsucking is all they really have in common. And while a lot of them are very human like and sometimes even considered more attractive than humans, others are fully monstrous looking, and very alien to humanity. Sadly, she ended up becoming a subtype in the latter category. She's barely recognizable, her hair was bleached white, and her eyes pink pupiless orbs like a rat's, and her skin so pale you can see veins and organs underneath. She lost so much weight in the transformation you can barely, going from having an hourglass body type, to being so skinny you can see her ribs. And most disturbingly of all, her mouth has twisted into a perfectly round and always open hole, with rings of sharp fangs, just like a lamprey's, her upper and lower jaws are permanently fused, she'll never sing or so much as speak again.

Within a week her life is kind of ruined. She's from one of those subcategories of vampire that's so monstrous most vampire activists distance themselves from them. She can't sing, and nobody wants to see someone like that play guitar. Her family disowns her for religious reasons, telling her their daughter is dead. She's extremely light sensitive, not only can she not see the sun, she has issues with any bright light, there's a reason why most vampires of her subtype live in the subways.

She hates her body being like this, when she looks at her face in the mirror she starts crying, she cries a lot actually. She moves differently now, she crawls on all fours and climbs flat walls like a bug almost as much as she stands up or sits down, and when she does sit it's in very inhuman poses. She seems to hate the way she feeds, leaving way larger wounds than most vampires, and her main source of blood being rats for the time being, she cries whenever she feeds. Her reproductive organs have changed into a single hole, which fishlike eggs come out of, and hatch into little minions that she seems really afraid of, though they seem to want to please her. She didn't even lose her sexuality so the lack of normal genitals hurts her even more. Beyond everything else she's upset that she has no mouth, her voice was always her most noteworthy feature, the way she expressed herself. She can't even talk, now, having to use AAC to communicate. She used to sing as a way of venting or calming herself, and now she can't. All of her friends try to be supportive, but a lot of them are really uncomfortable around her being like this, one of them even told you he doesn't see her as the same person anymore. It's hard to even get sympathy, when most of the world sees her as a vain woman who got what she deserved seeking eternal youth, without most people knowing she didn't have a choice.

You try to be nice to her. It's the best you can do. You let her wear your comfy clothing, and stay up at night to keep her company. You try to give her a lot of physical affection, which she seem to want a lot more now, it really helps just to pet her and cuddle her. And you call her pretty, and call her sweet and lovely, and that seems to help her. You'll also spend time just talking to her, she seems to like just listening to you now. You also watch TV with her, just because you don't want her to be alone, she keeps rewatching things from her childhood, like clone wars and Steven universe, just as a weird way to remember when she wasn't like this.

She still makes music. It's different now, music that she can make purely with software on your desktop. But it's beautiful in a way that nothing she made before was. There's something so strange and impactful about it, and when she's confident enough she posts it, and she gets a following. It's a lot of other monsters who seem to enjoy it, people who've been rejected by society in a way that can't be put into words without cheapening it. The type of story told best through a wordless song.
