Happy Ostara/Easter/belated Spring Equinox 😊🌸🌿 🐰🥚🍫! . ✨Valar and Valier series (late 2000s)✨ - 🌳🌿Yavanna Kementári🌿🌳 Initial practice sketch, the final painting and a couple of details. . I now prefer to headcanon Yavanna as dark-skinned, but I quite like how this watercolour turned out - especially the gradation of the different greens in the dress and mantle, and the trees in the background. I also love Alan Lee's original drawing on which this painting is based 🌿💚 (swipe for the comparison! Original is black and white, coloured by me as a guide for the painting). . Some years ago I started a 'Valar and Valier' project in which I took an existing painting/drawing as reference/inspiration to draw/paint one of the Valar. So far, I've done Varda, Yavanna, Nienna, Mandos and Aulë, and I also have some sketches of Nessa, Vána and Estë. Reincarnation Au :>

Y/N is a servant for the God of Life (Sun) and the God of Death (Moon)

After y/n dies saving the gods from an attack. Sun and moon both agree y/n should be reincarnated because of their loyalty to them. However, after many many lifetimes sun and moon find themselves falling for y/n. They know y/n should already be in the afterlife but they can’t stop themselves from reincarnating y/n over and over just to be with them.

Over time sun and moon have loved y/n romantically, platonically and queer-platonically. Sun and moon don’t mind at all they just want to be with y/n no matter what kind of love it is <3

After y/n dies they end up at the start of a long path with moon waiting for them there. As y/n and moon walk down the path y/n is able to remember all their previous lives and can talk to moon about them. It’s bittersweet though as y/n knows they’re going to be reborn, meaning they wont have any previous memories of sun and moon until they inevitably die again. moon gives y/n a kiss on the hand as they leave and another kiss on the hand once they meet in life again.

Both sun and moon can shapeshift into any type of form (including human) but they have their preferences, moon prefers to be a crow while sun prefers to be a deer.

Here is a Goblin Warrior I painted a while back for the Monte Cook Games Cypher System Bestiary.

With this piece the pose was very important to emphasise the concept. Through the silhouette and shape language, I wanted to convery a certain energy associated with a mischievous goblin raider, ready to cause havoc.

Lady of Sleep and Festivities

Eternal Sugar Cookie based on Saint Trina (Elden Ring) and The Willow Maid (Erutan and Celtic Mythology)

Crediting @cuppajj because their idea of Celtic Mythology for Silent Salt reminded me of the Willow Maid by Erutan

My idea of this is combining Saint Trina of Elden Ring because she(he??) is a sleeping flower and Eternal Sugar is the Beast of Sloth sooooo

As for why the Celtic Mythology: I feel like the Willow Maid song has captured something I headcanon for Eternal Sugar Cookie which is that she became a Beast by being sought after for her beauty and powers (as she was the holder of the Virtue of Happiness).

So I find that her story could be tied into Erutan's story/music while also embodying Saint Trina's sleepy atmosphere.

Eternal Sugar has Hollyberry's Soul Jam and her own

She is nakey because most fae or in myths with nymphs are nakey but I covered her!

Like St.Trina, she can lure cookies to sleep and force them to fall into a deep coma. And if Mystic Flour Cookie is with her, then she can turn the sleeping cookies into flour.

And I think her voice would be closer to Irish Gaeilge and she speaks like everyone in Elden Ring.

Her massive flower is inspired by Weeping Begonia flowers!

Gold Neck Ring

Celtic, 6th–4th century BCE

This elegant and technically accomplished solid gold torque, which weighs more than a pound, is a superb example of the mastery of goldsmiths in Iron Age Europe. Such an imposing object would have been an emblem of status and power. Its excellent condition suggests that it might have served as a ritual offering or been placed in a tomb to accompany the dead into the afterlife. It may also simply have been deluxe jewelry. In about 50 B.C. the Roman historian Diodorus Siculus wrote that Celts in Gaul “gather gold that is used for ornaments not only for women but men as well, for they wear bracelets on their arms and wrists and also massive solid-gold collars around their necks.”
