Orphan's baby
Cass was in the middle of helping the Batfam along with Batman raids through the the hidden base they had found underground lab in an abandoned hospital messing with a neon verison of lararus pits liquid.
Red Robin had already adjacked the security and was going through the files with Spoiler. Nightwing and Red hood beating up the guards while batman was battling with the main boss behind it all.
She was with Robin as they were taking some samples and destroying the remaining ones.
She had already crack through most of seemingly important hidden rooms that seem to be hiding completely full with containers full of lararus pits with tags of PH4N70M, and a winter blue colored marble in a container sealed to the safe that was spelling out electricity every minute in the container.
It looked important, but why a marble..?
She broke the container holding the marble, taking most of the lararus pits containers as well while destroying the remaining unaware of the glow that pulsed in the marble.
By the time is was to retreat, everything was in the clear as Spoiler needed to unscramble hidden files that were behind multiples firewalls.
They were at the batcave when they were securing the containers of lararus pits for later sampling, only for the marble to be missing..?
She was sure that she place it in her bat waist pouch, but it wasn't there anymore..
Did she dropped it accidentally while collecting the containers of larausu pits?
It was already too late to check back now, so she decided not to tell anyone yet.
Until 2 months later, she started feeling downright sick nauseated. Right after Dinner of Alfred's infamous lasagna Tuesday, but.. it tasted a bland which was throwing her off completely.
She was only dropping down by the batcave to just self analysis herself.. only to stop walking half way the secure containement holding all the lararus pits that they brought back..
She couldn't stop herself from staring at it with vast hunger before the swirl of neon green filling her vision and blank her conscience out the window..
Only to wake up in her room on her bed, 3 empty containers with not a inch of lararus pits left inside as if it was wiped-or licked clean. She hide the containers under her bed and stood quiet later on as nobody had noticed yet what she had done.
She doesn't know what had happen, but the nausea and sick feeling went away as if nothing happen.
Hopefully it would be a one time thing...
Bruce and his long lines of lawyers had disbanded the GIW completely over the illegal experimentally on sentient aliens of another world which they tried to label them as ghosts until they tried to accused Superman of being one of them which quickly label their entire Government supported work as hate crime and was steady being searched, along finding a couple of missing traumatized teens, adults and children that had vanished the months before in the other hidden labs.
...
....
.....
She had her head in her hands as she silently groaned when she peak her eyes between her fingers to see several dozen empty containers and immediately close her eyes to try and pretend she didn't see them.
It only been 5 months since that incident and she had seemingly got away with it, but then nausea came back with vengeance like no other, and the increased appetite was new, but yet it didn't filled her belly with the bland taste or satisfaction even though she did felt a bit feint during the couple of night patrols despise feeling energized earlier.
Something was wrong and she know it as she went to the only person who could help her right now.
She went to Alfred straight away silently explaining the situation going on because she honestly have no idea was going on with her and she know she loves his food, and the feint spells, and the monsterous appetite and the insatiable need to swallow a crapton of lararus pits with twelve milkshakes and fourteen bags full bat burgers.
Alfred could only stared with his eyebrows raising slowly with every word spilling out of her mouth.
Alfred helped her get examined in the batcave medbay, and 2 hours later the blood result came in.
Case was pregnant, but It was a almost cryptic pregnancy.
Alfred didn't had the equipment out for a ultrasound at all yet, but from he know from Cass it was during the Raiding of that hidden lab and her being in contacted with this 'marble' that seemingly disappeared after she grabbed it.
That was 7 months ago, but luckily Alfred caught it in time before it literally became a cryptic pregnancy.
Oh the ultrasounds pics of the little baby fetus with his fast beating lil heart beating were precious as he got tiny misty eyes a bit compare to Cass's awestruck look staring at the screen then back at her belly.
He does help get extra vitamins pills, and call her off of Crime duty until further noticed . Bruce on the otherhand was concerned but all he got from Alfred was the You Better not investigate this because I have major blackmail of embarrassing toddler photos against you.
This is Alfred moment that he been waiting for since Bruce became a new adult but not yet sired a baby at the Wayne Manor at all. He is savoring this for the memories and scapebooking time. He is cranking opened that forgotten but clean baby nursery of forlorning hopes.
2 months later, By the time Cass was ready to deliver the baby on February 11, and at February 12th, 12:01am.
Wren Alf Cain was born premature yet crying softly into the word.

dc x DP familial hanahaki idea
Tim gets familial hanahaki, for the batfam, but no one notices since he lives alone and it starts off v mild.
Then he runs into Danny who catches him puking petals in costume after patrol and offers support, since he had the same issue, but with his parents⌠and it didnât turn out well- he had to get ghostly intervention (Frostbite) to save his life. So he offers Tim a fall back- he comes clean to his family about the situation and if it doesnât go well, Danny now knows how to remove the flowers without surgery- though the feelings/memories will still be gone. Tim doesnt know why he trusts Danny, but he does, so he spends the night at manor, packs up the last of his things ( just in case ) and goes on patrol with them for the last time before telling them and coming clean. Except they donât react to the news. Stunned/shocked they stare at Tim as he shares his predicament ( in horror) uncaring. So Tim flees, promises he will get it fixed and runs off to meet with Danny, who gives him a small smile and knows. The bats are unable to cat ch up to Tim before Danny takes him to the Realms to make sure he got everything, leaving only a bouquet covered in blood for his frantic family to find.

DCXDP PROMPT 6 :
And once again, I exist
Wes/Damian + Demon Sibs AU
HC involved : Gothamite Rich Mother of Wes and the person where he got his Cassandra's Curse from, Danny Knows about his past and Damian knows Danny is alive just doesn't know where.
;
The Fentons upon finding out about Phantom's Identity as their Son Danny, they don't have the heart to harm Danny but they don't have the logic to accept him as a Halfa, so they decided to kick him out, Danny and Jazz gets into a fight because Jazz believes She can convince the Fenton's but Danny doesn't.
The School finds out about Danny being Phantom and Wes gets paid for the bets they owe him. But Upon Wes hearing Danny got kicked out, decided to take him in and as it turns out Wes's Mom is rich.
Danny lives Peacefully in the Weston Residence(decently big house) until Wes Gets a message from Tucker about the GIW getting a hold of Danny as Phantom's information probably by the Fenton's.
Wes knows it's only a matter of time before the GIW busts down their door so, he calls up his mom.
They escape to Gotham as that's the safest place and also the only place Wes is familiar with and because his mom is there and she's rich enough, she enrolls them to the same school where Damian is and ofcourse. Demon Sibs reunite, Wes and Damian meet.
The part I like the most :
Damian Believes Everything Wes says and is truly unaffected by the Cassandra's Curse especially after being asked by Wes if he's Robin on the first Day Danny introduces them to each other. Damian is intrigued that no one finds this *Obviously Handsome, Intellectual, Logical Boy* ~~that he's Inlove with~~ at all!
Danny also bypasses Cassandra's Curse, You all get the gyst <33
TLDR: Damian is smitten with a conspiracy theorist that's always 90% right and Always Sassy whilst having been reunited with the twin He knows was alive but doesn't know where that is Danyal
Extra : Wes totally figured out every hidden heroes identities but kept his mouth shut and if this is Tim/Bernard then Damian is in the "I have a better boyfriend than you Drake." Because both are gingers(?), Conspiracy Theorists but only one figured out everyone's identities on the spot.
Extra 2: GIW Shenanigans is decided by anyone and you all can take this free and change the prompt anytime or just inspire from it.
Thank you for listening to my crack.

I wrote to as an anon on this blog once, I already forgot the name of the blog but I do remember what I wrote since I have them on my drafts. Anyways...
It's a DC x DP fanfic, of the GIW being good guys and actually training the residents in the Amity Park once abilities started appearing because of the ecto-contamination of the town. Of course everyone in the town are Ecto-Contaminated, but Danny's Class are more than Liminal, and they're not exactly normal people (outside of their liminality, that is). I managed to at least write 1,900 something words of the idea.
Contaminated
Danny stared blankly. Tucker choked on what he was eating with Star quickly patting his back. Sam sighs alongside Paulina. Wes whimpered, hiding his face. Dash hit his head on his desk. The rest just stared. Lancer groaned at the side.
It was not a reaction the people in front of the class expected. James Howard was the head of the Martha Wayne Foundation, he oversee the foundation and made it part of his work to deliver the news in person. It was the reason why he and his group came to Amity Park. It was odd when he received the paper, it was filled with nonsense at the same time it made sense. Besides, they're better than the rest so they got the Free Trip.
"I take it it's not a good news?" James sighs which snapped everyone out of their spiral.
"NO!" He jumped at their shout and stared bemusedly.
"Mister Howard, this class was not supposed to win... It would cause problems..." He stared at the teacher blankly before breathing in and stared at the Class.
"Raise your hand if you have any relation with the Rogues of Gotham or any enemy of the Batclan, or anyone at Gotham, at all," He toned and didn't blink seeing hands raised. Gesturing at one of them, he waited patiently.
"Not Batman but Superman... My father is his... Archenemies," The girl hesitantly says and he could feel their eyes judging his reaction heavily. There's no doubt that if he reacted negatively, he'll find himself thrown outside.
"I see, what's your name miss?" He asks, taking out his Waynetech Tablet.
"Paulina Alexandria Luthor, sir," He nods before gesturing to another one.
"Wes Weston, sir. The Riddler is my maternal uncle," He nods and typed that down.
"Tucker Foley, sir. Commissioner Gordon is my maternal uncle," He hums and nods.
"Sam Manson, sir, Poison Ivy is my older half-sister," He made an acknowledging sound.
"Dale Thomas, sir, Duke Thomas is my second cousin,"
"Star Al Ghul, sir. Yes...those Al Ghuls... I'm related to them through Grandfather Ra's eldest son,"
"Theodore Drake, sir, Timothy Drake-Wayne is my older twin brother," That earned gasps from the rest of the class and even James looked up, only to withheld a sigh as Theo proceeded to remove his mask. Of course, the younger twin would have the Drake thinking and hid his appearance well.
"Garrett Crowne, sir. Richard Grayson-Wayne is my... Clone?" James stared blankly as he typed that down.
"Jackson Todd. I'm his twin brother," Jackson said and James nodded, immediately knowing which brother he was talking about.
"Kwan Napier... My father is Joker,"
James Howard nodded as he typed that down and close his tablet. He pinch the bridge of his nose before looking up to.
"Was that the reason why you deliberately made a mess of the paper?" He asks and one of the girls raised his hand.
"We're also not sure if we are allowed in the city, sir. We're all more than Liminals here, we have superpowers. We know how the Bats dislike those with superpowers in his city," She explained earning nods.
"Right. But that's only because they refuse to fight mind controlled, overpowered children," He explains.
"Besides, I did my own research, you children could handle yourself than the other schools who wanted to go to Gotham for shits and giggles," He dryly says.
He handed out slips of paper before reminding them of the itinerary. He gave a few more warnings before leaving, but not after leaving his number to be used just in case of emergency. He nodded at the men in White suits guarding the school and left for the gates.
Seems like Amity Park is another Gotham, but not that bad. James has a lot for things to report to the CEO.
Back to the classroom, there was chaos at the sudden reveal. It suddenly made sense for everyone involved, they only quietened down when Danny whistled sharply.
"Alright, since secrets are out, let's all plan what are we going to do in Gotham,"
"Let's just go with the flow. Knowing our luck, the itinerary won't be followed," Paulina huffs earning laughs from the rest.
"Like that trip in Nanda Parbat," Star dryly says earning groans from the rest, recalling that particular field trip. It was a mess in epic proportions but they got a weird grandfather out of it. A very rich grandfather who still sent them allowance every week.
"What hotel did you choose?" Lancer curiously asks and Danny smiles.
"Grandfather hijacked my selection and decided that Raal Hotel would be better," He said in amusement making the rest snort.
"That's his hotel, isn't it?"
They broke out into laughter before they decided to simply mingle around.
THE NEXT DAY
James Howard raised an eyebrow when the Class turned up. They're not wearing bright colors nor dark, but neutral colors it seems, and they wore hair clips in their heads, even the males, it looked like it was customized and cared for.
He nodded in greeting and they chirped back their own replies. He tilted his head at how unhuman sound it was, then remembered the pamphlet he received from those guys in white when he arrived in the town of the people no longer being human due to exposure and then shrugged.
"Mister James, you should wear this, so we're the same!" Star chirped and he accepted the hair clip. He eyed it for a moment before clipping it on his hair earning cheers from the rest. He chuckled and ushered them towards the private plane.
"Mister Wyane agreed to my request of borrowing his private plane for this. While I know you have control of your superpowers, I also know you like it if you're not hiding them," He said with a soft smile. He laughed when the moment they entered the plane, they started floating around. It says a lot of the training the crew had that they didn't flinch.
He blinked when they decided to fuse some glowing green goop all around the plane and looked at Lancer for explanation.
"Since they're more than Liminal, bordering Ghost, there's a high possibility that the plane would glitch. This way, everyone is safe. Let Mr. Wayne know though, he might react negatively that his plane is... Haunted," He explains and James nodded, already typing away on his Amity Phone. Negative energy and all that causes glitches so he has to buy a new phone from the town itself. And he had to send another piece for the CEO when the man practically begged to have one.
Receiving an affirmative, he gave the man a small smile and a thumbs up before settling down on his own seat. When the plane is in the air, he simply sat as the students started wandering around.
Or in case of Garrett and Theo, cartwheeling on the aisle.
He chuckled and activated the Wayne Kids code. The plane was designed to keep passengers entertained, designed by one Richard Grayson-Wayne, putting his siblings in mind. He watched as students stilled before some went straight to the shelves filled with books, some went to the area filled with board games then some went to the game station. He eyed their teacher who was fast asleep, wearing noise canceling earphones and his eyes covered.
He decided to quietly watched over them in the mean time.
Arriving at the airport, James sighed when he saw a few Rogues milling around. And despite wearing a disguise, people could still identify them. He hid his laugh seeing how the Class eyed them dubiously, some even facepalmed and groaning in their hands. Still, they did not approach the Class even if he ushered them to the mini bus. James raised an eyebrow to the driver who grinned and winked.
"Alright kiddos, for the duration of your field trip, I'll be your only driver. No substitutes and all, and even there is, I'll let your teacher and Sir Howard know. The names Jay," He said with a grin.
"Now what's the name of your hotel?" He asks.
"Raal Hotel!" Jackson chirped, not knowing the other class was eyeing Jay and Jackson discreetly. He gave kudos to the man who didn't outwardly react other than nodding and starting the bus.
"Everyone, control them for the duration of the drive," Lancer reminded making everyone nod and took out things. James realized it was to keep them calm and distracted. He looked at Lancer curiously who sighs.
"As long anything works on electricity, it affects them," He said making him hum and nod in understanding. Arriving at the hotel, he chuckled when the children practically ran out, some exited through the window before they started jumping on their toes.
Lancer sighed and nodded at them. In no time, they disappeared. James, Jay, and the discreet guards looked towards Lancer who smiles and gestured for them to head inside. They were then led to one of the rooms by a receptionist when Lancer asked for the visual room, a room with multiple screens that soon lit up the moment Lancer pressed a button.
"What are they doing?" He couldn't help but ask as he look at the Children that split off.
"Burning off the excess energy," Lancer says pointing at one Samantha Manson, who was growing a lot of green on another side of Gotham. Tucker Foley was by the beach making huge sand castles. Dale was in the sky, shooting light making it look like lightning.
He'll have to tell the Bats to ease their paranoia. He mused eyeing the rest of the children.
A few minutes later, they all disappeared from the cameras, Lancer then ushered them to the lobby and waited. The first to enter were Paulina and Star. Both wore different clothes than they wore a while ago and had handful of shopping bags.
"Don't worry, Mister Lancer, we did pay for them," Star says with a huff earning a fond eye roll from him.
The next to arrive were Dash, Kwan, Wes, and Dale. Dash was carrying two closed boxes while Dale was carrying three. Wes was only holding one and Kwan has two.
"They keep appearing in my direction!" Wes was quick to say when Lancer pointed the box filled with grappling hooks and shurikens.
"I hope you don't hand them out to your classmates, hm? They're destructive as it is, no need to add weapons in their arsenal," Wes nodded with a blush, his face turning green. James didn't blink at that he already saw them back in Amity, how even their blood has a tigne of green.
Valerie, Garrett, and Theodore stomped inside and Lancer readily opened his arms to which the trio went and slumped, switching to their small forms and curling up around the man.
Tucker arrived smiling sheepishly as sand followed his steps. Sam arrived cradling a plant and smiling innocently at Lancer who merely shook his head.
When Danny and Jackson arrived, everyone in the class stared and Lancer sighs.
"Danny, JJ, why do you have a child?" Lancer asks and Danny giggles hugging the child close with Jackson doing the same.
"Mine," They hissed and Lancer sighs.
~
Somehow, the child multiplied overnight and Lancer was used to it that he ushered the group to a mall to buy new things. Danny and Jackson with the help of Garrett and Theodore, the four children made sure to hold the hands of the kids who were swimming in the clothes they wear. Star and Paulina alongside Sam was gleeful in picking out clothes. Kwan, Dale, and Dash was behind them pushing the carts. Valerie, Wes, and Tucker was busy with shopping grocery.
The Gothamites gleefully scanned their purchases, if those kids were Gothamites and some assassins, well, good for them. It's pretty clear the kids are loaded, with how willing they are to spend a lot just for clothes. Good for them.

Time forgets most (DPxDC)
I've been getting too many brain worms that I need to clear out the cramp space that is my idea vault. In doing so, I'm just posting off-handed, random things I've typed up at work. (Partly so my drafts don't just end up like my vault). Without further ado, a much too too long post
°â˘Â°â˘Â°â˘Â°
The movement of time is a much too complex thing for many to understand. The knowledge that time was not perfectly linear. The past did not simply stay in the past. The future is not simply something to look forward to. The present is not simply a fleeting moment.
Time is a complex web. Every point in time, connected to another point in time. A never-ending mess of webs and connections. Things that are to be. Things that can be. Things that are being. Things that will never see the light of day in this universe.
Despite what some may want to believe, Time has no master. Time does not yield to any singular being. That did not mean that Time didn't need a helping hand. A guiding hand to help keep the chaos of time to something just a little more... fluid.
The being came to exist well before the universe had. The being was festered, taught, and nurtured in a small pocket dimension. A small space just like an incubator.
Until the world blossomed around it. Life started to grow. Time kept moving. Living organisms found untimely deaths. Evolved, learned, and grew into the new space around it.
When the first little creature crawled out of the water, Time's keeper was let free. A bumbling little thing, breaming with life and curiosity.
Just like everything else in the world, this keeper wasn't safe from time. It still moved. Brought forth problems and adventures.
As time continued to tick. Moving in every direction, the keeper continued to age. Unlike the rest of the universe, the keeper didn't age the same as others.
Some days, he was nothing but a small boy, frolicking in a field of flowers and bees. Other days, he was a strong middle-aged man. Pulling the strings in just the right way, pushing for a timeline that felt right.
On days that have been happening much more often. He was but a crippled old man, hunched over his staff, and dropping much needed wisdom on the young lives around him.
Being the keeper of time wasn't an easy feat. Being completely out of time, experiencing things in broken order. There was only a clear start, and a jumble of things that followed.
The keeper was content with his life. Watching over the world as it grew and blossomed. He was content with his special kind of solitude.
That was until he saw the boy. In the webs of moments, the keeper's gaze had found him. A boy much too young, suddenly with powers much too great thrusted upon him.
The keeper watched the scenes play out. The tears, laughter, humiliation, triumph, and pain. He watched as the boy's family was ripped from him. Watched the twisted attempt at fixing his life, only for it to go horribly wrong.
He watched the bloodshed and chaos that erupted. The lives ripped apart and destroyed. Not a single sign of life left behind.
Then he watched as the boy, no, not a boy anymore. The keeper watched as the monster tore through the fabric of time. Ripped its way through the thin veils that divided the universes.
Universes that had never known the boy's existence were torn to shreds to. A flight driven with pain and anger.
Despite the keeper having seen the boy turn into such a monster. He could see it in the beast's eyes. The deep-seated need for a family, a life. To be loved.
Something about the boy's life, his story, spoke to the keeper. He found himself reaching out into the web of lives and moments. Finding the moment when things went the most wrong for the boy.
Just like that, the keeper had inserted himself into a life. He pulled the boy out of the cruel stream of time. Filled the boy with the knowledge he needed. Let the boy see just what could happen if he let it.
The keeper of time was soon a simple mentor. A simple deity looking out for the world. Taking on the mantel of Clockwork and finding a new purpose for his life.
A young boy's life has been flipped upside down two times now. And there were certainly more to come. This time, the boy wasn't alone. He had a guiding hand, and a communtiy behind him.
The keeper, no, Clockwork watched with a strange pride and happiness he hadn't felt in a long time. The boy was quickly surrounded by a family that helped him navigate his new powers.
Clockwork, alongside many of the other ghostly beings, watched on with pride as the young boy grew into a strong young man. Mastering powers, taking a stand, and making their home safe.
Despite the best efforts, time always beings problems.
It was one thing for Clockwork. He was the keeper of time. His life has reason to exist as long as time exists. Which will always be. His purpose was infinite.
But this boy... Danny wasn't like Clockwork. He was still partially human and terrified of losing his humanity. Danny's story had to come to an end, it's how time works.
Except, Danny wasn't in the timeline anymore. Clockwork had ensured that, pulled Danny into a separate timeline. An unaccounted for timeline.
He couldn't live here forever, not the way that Clockwork could. Danny needs a life, a family, a place, a purpose. He was still human.
It took more effort than Clockwork would have liked. He had to cash in favors from other deities that he hadn't spoken to in centuries.
It took a combined effort of everyone who cared for the little halfa. The strange boy that teeter on the line between life and death. The boy who had freed the Zone from a tyrant. Who wanted nothing more than for everyone to live a happy and filled life/afterlife.
Getting the magic and spells right was the hard part. But finding the location was easy. A beautiful planet just on the edge of the Milky Way. Unlikely to be disturbed or hurt.
The planet was undiscovered, primative even. Far enough from humans that Clockwork was certain Danny wouldn't be bothered. Only one species lived on that planet. Along the jungle like fauna, and in the water.
Cute little guys, barely bigger than two feet long and one foot tall. There was no name, no knowledge about them. Aside from Clockwork analyzing their way of life.
A simple cycle. They were born, they aged, they played, fed, mated, and then died. A simple but content life.
The aliens weren't unsettling. At least not to anyone who has seen more creatures than what Earth has to offer. It is a strange combination between frog, fish, and squid.
Scurrying around on two legs and four tentacles. A small frog-like face with eyes that seemed to take up half that space. Colors vary from blues to greens to the same sandy brown found at the bottom of the lakes.
Before long, the planet had its own protector. A young boy who once was lost and alone seemed to meld perfectly with these aliens.
Clockwork was always sure of himself. He never let anyone see otherwise. Except, Clockwork hadn't been sure. Not when he had performed the ritual.
As he molded and changed Danny's DNA until the man was a new being entirely. To anyone who didn't know the full story, the boy could easily look related to the aliens.
Gills now painted the sides of his neck, not necessary, but Clockwork felt like it had been. Webbed hands and feet to make transversing the underwater caves even easier. An ethereal, almost siren-like touch to Danny.
It worked out perfectly. Danny settled in easily. Building a routine and bound with the aliens. It hadn't been hard for the little creature to take a liking to him.
Before long, it was routine. Danny would spend most of his time on the planet, watching over his new wards. On some days, he'd portal back to the zone. Spend time with the ghosts and deities that saved his life. To check in on the new govermental system that had been put in place.
It was perfect. Simple and nice. Everyone got complacent. The longer time went on without a hiccup or a problem. The longer Danny was able to rest in his odd solitude. The more people got comfortable.
The more they forgot that time was as cruel as it was forgiving.
It had been just another day cycle. Danny was playing with the most recent litter birth. The first time he had seen the birth, he was more disgusted than anything else.
After the third time, Danny had started getting excited. He looked forward to it. Loved seeing the aliens flourish and grow. Watching them thrive and find more fun in the things Danny creates. Every new fun game or obstacle was always made with the things natural to the planet. Or debris that was caught in its gravitational pull.
Danny was playing with Plop. The little guy got his name, and he always plopped out of the water. Unlike the other aliens, this one didn't crawl out. No, he'd pull himself out of the water with his tentacles, only to plop down on the ground.
Of course, Plop had also been the first alien to approach Danny when he arrived. It's how they formed such a strong bond.
Everything had seemed perfectly fine. The day was rolling along just like it always did. That was until a small group of the more elder aliens suddenly came scurrying into their main cave.
They hadn't waited a second before diving into the water. Danny watched, confused and concerned, as each one of them grabbed one of the young. Before shooting straight into the underwater cave system.
The once bustling and living cave was suddenly eerily quiet and void of any aliens. Leaving behind only the confused Danny in the pool.
At least that's what a certain Green Lantern saw when he followed the trail of retreating aliens.
This planet had been categorized to have no signs of intelligent life. It seemed to have the option to nurture life, but there had been no signs.
When Hal Jordan got word of a seeming spike of activity from the supposedly empty planet, he had added it to his rooster.
A quick peek, just a look into what kind of life might be starting to grow there. The little aliens he had seen were adorable, sure. But they didn't seem all that evolved. Still in their evolutionary journey.
That was until Hal saw him.
Now, Hal was no stranger to running into ethereal beauty. It's what happens when someone interacts with aliens on a basic daily. That was something he was used to.
Except, all his breath seemed to be knocked out of him completely. The cave alone was stunning, a stark contrast from the almost barren surface he had first seen.
A deep, shimmering blue pool that vanished into the rocky space around it. Trees, bushes, and flowers decorate the area. It looked almost too good to be true. Like an oasis in the middle of a desert.
Then there was the being that caught all of Hal's attention. Bright blue eyes that looked like gems, pale blue-tinged skin. Long black and white hair seemed to look almost like the night sky. A deep abyss littered with stars.
The closest thing that Hal's brain supplied was a siren. A beautiful, ethereal creature that lured men to their deaths. As beautiful as it seemed, Hal knew there could easily be danger.
Except, the creature didn't attack or threaten him.
Instead, he seemed almost shy. Mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water, sharp deadly teeth flashing in the light with each motion.
Hal had just opened his mouth, taken a hesitant step forward. He wanted to know, and he needed to know how this happened. There wasn't supposed to be an intelligent, sophisticated life on this planet.
The moment Hal's lips parted, the creature let out a trill. A sound that seemed more scared than aggressive. Before suddenly, the beautiful creature vanished into the pool.
Hal moved before he could think, rushing to the edge of the pool. He peered into the crystal clear water, just in time to take the webbed feet of the creature vanish into a tunnel.
Now that left Hal with two options. He could either report this and wait for backup...
Or...
Or...
He could jump inside. The ring would protect him, and his lungs would be fine. Perks of being a Green Lantern.
That option seemed much more tempting to Hal. Nothing about this scream an outright threat. He felt more like a strange imposing on someone's home. A home that was meant for safety and protection of the young.
Yet, the shimmering water seemed to be calling to Hal. Something in him was trying to push him to get inside. To find the beautiful creature and learn more. Learn how this happened.
Without realizing it, Hal Jordan sealed his fate the moment he dipped a finger into the cool pool. Rippling the steady surface just slightly.
Just enough to get him wrapped up in the strange web created by time and its keeper.

Letâs talk about Dannyâs trauma over Dan and why itâs ignored in Dan redemption stories
I love a good redemption for a villain/asshole character (Zuko, Hunter, Steve) and Iâm impartial to Dan being redeemed⌠but letâs sit for a moment and talk about how Dan being redeemed completely ignores and invalidates Dannyâs trauma.
For starters, letâs get one thing clear: Dan was Dannyâs worst enemy aside from Pariah Dark. Iâm not counting Undergrowth, Nocturne or Vortex because at that point Danny could go toe-to-toe with them power-wise (and s3 writing quality, but thatâs not the point) He was everything Danny feared of becoming, the monster he was always afraid he could become and that his parents were right all along about ghosts, that he was like Vlad. He tried to kill Dannyâs family, Sam, Tucker and Lancer to ensure Danny would become him, and itâs implied he would have left him floating around in the future Ghost Zone for who knows how long and still tied up and possibly even get killed again by the ghosts who want revenge (donât tell me that if he hadnât gotten his Wail, Danny would have died) Danny probably had nightmares for MONTHS and could barely look at his reflection after everything with Dan, that heâs terrified of cheating or screwing up in case thatâs the catalyst for him becoming Dan or something much worse, that it would even impact on how he sees himself as an adult (which I talked all about in another post)
Safe to say, out of everything Dannyâs faced, Dan is Dannyâs worst fear, the one that left him the most trauma and mental scars outside of Pariah and the accident.
And you know what Dan redemptions do pretty consistently?
They ignore Dannyâs trauma.
ALL the focus is on Dan and his trauma and him learning to be a better person and making up for what he did, which is fair considering itâs Dan being redeemed. But there is little to NOTHING on how Dan being in Dannyâs timeline affects HIM, that his ultimate enemy and greatest fear is literally constantly around, that him being around triggers all of Dannyâs traumas. Dannyâs trauma and fears are completely invalidated or hardly acknowledged when it comes to Danâs redemption and that he must deal with Dan being there instead of rightfully being upset and triggered literally every time he and Dan are in the same freaking room! And hardly none of the characters think itâs a problem when Team Phantom, while not knowing all the details, know just how much Dan messed Danny up! They just push it aside in favour of focusing on Dan!
Dan has trauma and issues, he was a kid who lost everything and Vladâs ghost half and a lot of things played a role in him becoming evil, that the Danny we know could have gone down the same path quite easily⌠but can we please acknowledge that and Dannyâs trauma over Dan at once without ignoring Dannyâs trauma in the process?
Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk, just wanted to vent that all out.
#I did do this in my fic for the DannyMay Enemy prompt on ao3#But still wanted to go slightly more in depth here anyway#Because can we please make it a thing where we donât ignore Dannyâs Dan trauma and acknowledge it? Please?#Like both things can exist at once#Also please donât murder me those who love Dan being redeemed#Iâm just trying to point out how Dannyâs trauma is constantly invalidated when it comes to Danâs redemption#danny phantom#danny fenton#dan phantom#dark danny#dp#dp fandom#Dp analysis#I might be wrong but thatâs the take I get whenever I stumble on Dan being redeemed

Popularity in Fandom Spaces
I've noticed a couple trends in relation to popularity over the few years across multiple fandom spaces.
Being "popular" while verbally eschewing popularity is something I've noticed becoming an art form. There's a specific level of self-effacing and humbling to be put on before accepting more compliments. Often hand-in-hand with humble-bragging.
Along with that is the cold-shoulder popularity brings. Where you've reached an arbitrary status where you mainly interact with the people who keep building your compliments and ignore those who are new or "lesser". You must be this tall to ride -> You must support me this much to be part of my inner circle.
Social media has likely played a huge part into this. It's so much easier now to have "proof" of popularity in online spaces. And we all like getting recognition for hard work and compliments. If you spend hours working on writing or art, of course you want to hear it!
But I've also seen that popularity suck the joy out of hobbies for new people who are excluded. Especially if there's an unspoken expectation to fawn over the 'right' people to be part of the club.
If you don't click with someone, that's cool. But at least try to be kind. Don't exclude them or make them feel stupid for not knowing something. Fandom should be open to everyone, not an exclusive club.
#thank you for coming to my TED talk#these are my personal thoughts#and probably not popular to address#but I've noticed the trend over and over now#I've probably done some of these things but man I try not to#fandom#fandom spaces#fandom things#fandom popularity#social popularity#fanfic writing#fanart#fandom etiquette#Encanto#linked universe#Batman#the sandman#dp x dc#danny phantom#dc

@profandomhopper i was going to reblog the original post this comment was left on but i felt it divorced itself from the original topic so much, you get your own post for giving me delightful permission to ramble about this. buckle in people this is long.
so, DC is a big fandom that expanses a lot of different types of content, and like anything, is subject to crossovers. the obvious ones like Marvel are for the reason of being a similar and equally popular superhero world, so it's easy to transpose the worlds onto each other and overlap the characters. both of these worlds deal with multiverses and endless, endless heroes. it makes sense and there's no real stretch to think Batman and Spider-Man could co-exist. i mean, there have been canon crossover comics. and even some more random crossovers like White Collar have pretty easy to trace origins, being an actor in WC was a popular Dick fancast back in the day so there was some bleeding over that led to a well-loved niche crossover space.
but Danny Phantom and Miraculous Ladybug are where it gets interesting. because at a surface, MLB sort of makes sense. it's a superhero world, you're following a teen girl superhero and sure the mechanics are pretty contained, but the crossover should make sense. but when you compare it to the crossover numbers of other superhero media like say My Hero Academia, Ladybug takes the *crown* with such a bizarre popularity. and of course, DP feels like it makes even less sense. sure, you *could* lump it into at the very least, superhero-adjacent media, but it's not a true hero world like MLB or DC is.
but, the thing to always understand about DC, *especially* the Batfamily (which is where the crossover content propagates the most) is this: a *very* good chunk of fans don't interact with the comics. i would venture to say even most Batfamily fans don't read the comics and actively talk about it. we've all read a very fandom big Batfam fanfic where the author's note mentions the writer has never touched a comic in their life. typically, these fans are either cobbling together their understanding from fandom content, or by frankensteining unrelated DC adaptations to understand each character. you take Bruce from Batman: TAS, you take Dick from the animated Young Justice, you take Jason from Batman: Under The Red Hood animated movie, you take Damian from the DCAMU Batman vs Robin, and you read some fandom metas to fill in the rest and well, you've got some sort of an understanding of these characters. read enough incorrect quotes, some genfic, a couple of character metas, and boom, you understand the Batfamily fandom enough to start creating your own content. and of course now. now you have Wayne Family Adventures so it's even *easier*. a pretty easy to pick up webtoon that's filling in all the gaps for you. but i've been in this fandom long enough to remember before we had WFA and even then, this was still a common, if not the most popular way, to ween yourself into the DC fandom space. you cherry-picked the canon you liked and then plunged into the depths of fanon.
i'm not here to make in depth commentary on if i think this is a good or bad thing. trust me i have that commentary in my head, but that would need it's own post. i'm very split on it and my feelings are complicated. my feelings on WFA are even *more* complicated. because oftentimes, the attitude expressed by these fans who are frankensteining this version of the Batfamily/DC world they have in their head is they don't *want* to read the comics. the comics don't contain the content they're after. and to an extent, i understand that. if you're looking for light-hearted vibes of the Batfamily all getting along and having the occasional hurt/comfort moments but in the end, they hug and make up, you're right. largely, you won't find that in canon. of course there are so many comics to recommend for Batfamily interactions, but you have to get specific. you'll find them interacting in small groups, Tim and Dick bonding here, Duke and Cass bonding there, but largely, the comics don't care to balance the ridiculously large cast they've given themselves. but fandom does. it's easy to toss them all in a blender and ignore the parts you don't like. the default argument to ignoring the comics or writing something OOC is always "well the comics are OOC and inconsistent too" which, while a flawed argument that massively misunderstand how comics work as a medium, isn't an entirely incorrect one. you could serve on a silver platter to these fans, an easy and accessible way to get into comics and they wouldn't be interested. it's not what they're here for. fandom is always character-driven above all else. it's driven by character relationships and dynamics. if someone wants to consume content where Tim idolized and stalked Jason as 'his Robin' and now is trying to help him rehabilitate and they're super complicated but have this long epic forgiveness arc, why *would* they read the comics? because they're sure as shit not going to find that dynamic in the comics. it's laughably OOC and not canon at all, but that doesn't matter. what matters is the sandbox. most Batfamily fans care *far* more about the sandbox canon gives them than the actual canon itself. feel how you feel about that, this really isn't being negative toward that attitude, but it is a common attitude.
so, you have Batfamily fans playing in the sandbox and building their own narrative. common fandom headcanons are so common, you could practically write a guide on how the fanon Batfamily works with how consistent people are about it. or you could just read WFA, which is practically the new manifesto of it. even now, with this sudden spike in people talking about canon accuracy and "actually this happening in the comics", they don't actually care about the comics, just what they can cherry-pick for fodder. (even if they rob it of so much context they're just as OOC as they were before. see specifically: the recent phenomena with Tim Drake going from the woobified weakest member of the Batfam who everyone needs to save constantly and he's the smart boy but he's also the one with a sad tragic neglectful past who gets overlooked being the way Batfamily fandom played with Tim for years. but recently, people seem to be pushing this idea of a ridiculously badass Tim, Tim who *totally* has a kill count because of his actions in RR (2009) if you take them completely out of context, Tim who bested Ra's and is even more badass than Jason and he's the 17 yr old CEO of Wayne Industries being cool and flawless it becoming the new fandom zeitgeist. neither of these versions of Tim are canon, and the second fundamentally misunderstands his arc in RR (2009) but the shift has undeniably happened and it's been fascinating to watch. the same thing happened with people suddenly deciding Jason isn't the "angry violent Robin", he was a sunshine sweet boy who was perfect as Robin. neither of these are true, but the second feels more transgressive and new to fandom from cherry-picked panels.) the point is largely, Batfamily fans would rather build their own canon than play with the actual canon.
and then, you have Danny Phantom. i'm not into DP and have no interest to get into it, but what i know about it via fandom osmosis is this: DP fans sort of also don't give a fuck about canon. once again, the canon of DP is a sandbox, not a rulebook. the concepts and the characters are the draw, not the plot itself. i've seen DP posts explaining characters who are essentially OCs, but have become so dominant in the fandom via fandom osmosis. there are concepts and ideas about how Danny's powers work and potential concepts with his ghost nature that either aren't in canon or only happened once in canon and fans decided to expand on that and doesn't care about it's own in-universe logic. i've seen a lot of DP fans also express they haven't seen the show and they don't have plans to see the show. because the show is just some children's cartoon with some inconsistencies and a simple plot, as you'd expect from CN. the show isn't the point. no one cares about it's plot, they care about it's characters. they care about pushing the concept of half ghost boy to a logical extreme and seeing what you can get out of that. can you make it weird and fucked up. how much can you highlight on his trauma and body horror. what identity crisis can you give him and how can you build his interactions with other characters in his world around that and also make those characters fun and unique on their own. sure, the skeleton of canon is there, but the meat lies all in the fanon.
Miraculous Ladybug also exists in this similar vein. the characters, the concepts, those hold intrigue. and not even mentioning the fact the original concept for this show was supposed to be aimed to an older audience, so you can see the bones of something a bit more mature and nuanced under this typical, villain of the week magical girl transformation show. the show itself is a bit shallow and that's not a *bad* thing, it's just the medium it exists within being aimed towards children. but the concepts of a teen girl who's basically a sort of chosen one, a boy who doesn't know his father is the big bad of the show, and their weird identity porn love... square thing. those dynamics are *so* complicated and such a fun sandbox to play in with character-driven fandom.
so, at the core, you have three fandoms that care more about the culturally accepted fanon than the canon, with a good chunk of people often not even consuming the original canon content. and well, DC is an *easy* world to transpose just about anything onto. a boy who's half ghost and fighting supernatural threats? that makes sense, DC has ghost heroes like Deadman already. a girl who has this magical item that gives her animal themed superpowers? i mean that's practically the same thing as Vixen's Totem so that one makes sense too. they fit in pretty easy, no needing to change the world to accommodate them. and of course, if you're a fan of *one* fandom where you don't care for the canon content and only like the fandom sandbox, chances are, you'll get drawn in pretty easily to another fandom with similar mechanics. if you can teach yourself the DP fandom rules/concepts, you can teach yourself the Batfamily fandom rules/concepts. and well, since there's so much crossover in fandom members, why not write the fanfiction? crossover fics will always exist, but with such a shared member base, you have a really big boom.
it's why the characters you see DP interact with in DC are *always* characters who are far more driven by fanon than canon. Danny and John Constantine is a *massive* concept. for people who don't read Hellblazer comics. my poor partner, @divine-dominion has lamented to me pretty often about finding DP content in the Hellblazer tag that is essentially turning Constantine into an OC. because whatever version of Constantine is being written about isn't one bit comics accurate, and really, isn't trying to be. and the same thing happens with Shazam. you watch Young Justice and understand him well enough, you get drawn in by the character concept that you just run with it. people put their favorite blorbos in the same place because hey, wouldn't ghost boy be pretty cool in a city like *Gotham*. how would Batman even react to him. and then, the shipping. because ages for the Batfamily can be easily hand-waved and moved around based on where you plop Danny into the timeline, you have your pick of the litter with him, and same with Ladybug. of course there are the most popular ships but largely, the world is your oyster.
i don't think this is the worst thing in the world for either fandom. it's not hard to filter out the crossover tags and scroll past content i don't like. and sure, i see the appeal of making your blorbos from two different places meet. i've got my drafts *full* of DC/MHA crossover ideas because well, i like them both and think that would be cool. i think my only gripe with it is when DP or MLB crossover content seeps it's way into the wrong tags. using the above example, if you're writing about Danny and Constantine but there's zero content of the actual Hellblazer comics, i don't think you need the Hellblazer tag, just the Constantine character tag. tbh i wish this extended onto Ao3 and people utilized fandom tags better. if you're writing Batfamily fanfiction that is very clearly and obviously WFA driven in characterization and concepts, i would far prefer those fics be tagged with the WFA fandom tag rather than the Batman (comics) fandom tag. because well, you're not writing about the Batman comics. and there's nothing wrong with that, but it helps if you don't confuse yourself for content striving to interact with canon more. (this especially extends to Young Justice, by the way. if you're writing for the Young Justice tv show please, please stop using the Young Justice (comics) fandom tag. i'm at my wit's end- /lh)
the whole thing is fascinating. i've got zero interest in entering DP or MLB as fandoms because that's not my speed, but witnessing it as an outsider is my favorite pastime. i see a *lot* of posts going around the DC x DP space that are helping explain to people who's who, what's what, and understanding the canon/fanon of both of these properties so others can better enter the space. which is not something you'd need in a fandom driven only by it's canon content, but it is sweet watching others try to help newbies enter the space. it's a very inviting fandom space, i think, whether you lament it's existence or not. they're just sitting in their corner with their blorbos, and i gotta respect that. the posts explaining the Batfamily to DP fans are always fun for me to read, even if i disagree with some of the characterizations in them because it helps shine a light on what the fans of this crossover regard as "important" enough about each fandom to be worth including those sorts of primers. very fascinating stuff.
#necrotic festerings#dc x dp#dc x dp crossover#dc x mlb#danny phantom#miraculous ladybug#batfamily#dc comics#fandom meta#fandom analysis#but i can totally write more of these analysis type posts bc i *love* this shit#it's like fandom anthropology#fan studies#love that shit and i have *so* many case studies i could write about cultural phenomena in the batfamily fandom space#bc you can tell by my. everything i'm a comics purist#but i'm not totally negative to fanon#i roll my eyes. I cringe. I send long rants to my loved ones.#but i live and let live and i'm not going to jump down a fanon post for being painfully incorrect. it's just mean and not how we behave.#like there's a difference that and between correcting ppl who say 'in the comics-' when they haven't read the comics#but most ppl aren't claiming their content is based on the comics. and i can respect that honesty#like you're just rawdogging it#i understand the appeal of it. seriously no shade it's a fun sandbox if you just want cool blorbos.#it's *not* how I do fandom but to each their own#and ofc i want comic accurate fanfic but i can find that on my own. it's not hard to do#some comic purists act like there's *no* comic fandom content and come on now.#it's pretty easy to tell the difference when you're scrolling ao3. let's not be unkind to content not made for us.#but i'm serious please do stay out of comic tags if you're not writing comic content. it's my only gripe with this whole thing.#besides that be gay be free.#be cringe. it's freeing i promise.#i jest about being sick of that green ghost boy and that ladybug girl in fandom but it's all silly. i really don't mind.

I was going to add this to the post I just reblogged, but it was running away from me so now it's this.
I think there's a specific fandom cultural difference between DC and DP that makes the crossover fandom kind of fascinating.
Because the DP fandom?
Is out here making shit up wholecloth. Ask a dp fan who wes weston is and you'll get generally the same answer: he's a ginger conspiracy theorist who knows Danny is Phantom and is trying to convince people of that, but nobody believes him. The thing is?
HE DOESN'T EXIST
Wesley "Wes" Weston is a character the fandom made up in his entirely. He has a categorized a03 tag! With 726 works! And he's entirely fanon!
That's the sort of thing that the DP fandom is entirely used to. Which makes our (because I'm definitely more of a DP fan than I am a DC one) relationship with canon VERY different from most fandoms.
You take what you want from canon and ignore the rest.
The vast majority of DP fandom tropes like obsessions, the details of ghost cores, the vivisection thing, hell, even the fact that the ghosts ARE GHOSTS, either only have roots in canon or directly fly in the face of canon.
Canon is at best the walls of the sandbox and even then that's debateable. Whereas the DC fandom seems...a bit more attached to canon.
It feels like it's something I see not clicking with DC fans talking about the DPxDC thing, especially when people talk about it from a broader fandom perspective or. You know. Complain about seeing DP stuff.
#Also I'm always a little like#leery I guess? of DC fans talking negatively or complaining about the#dp x dc#fandom. because like#atm there are 23558 fics on ao3 under theDanny Phantom fandom tag#of those 9842 are crossovers#that's less than 2k away from HALF OF ALL DP FICS#of those crossovers#5134 are tagged Batman - All Media Types#that's about 350 away from a QUARTER#OF ALL DP FICS ON A03#so it earns a bit of an eyeroll when I see people coming from the DC side of things complain about like#there being too much DP stuff in the DC tags or whatever#bc I just don't see people really recognizing that the DP fandom is being influenced way more by the DC fandom than the other way around#anyway#quils bullshit#danny phantom#danny phantom x dc#dc#fandom stuff

To new people who are joining/ may join the Danny Phantom fandom...
Since new people are joining or may be joining the Danny Phantom fandom because of the graphic novel A Glitch in Time novel that came out last year, i feel there are some things that should be addressed before starting to participate in the phandom.
That is, if you come with the mentality that the Danny Phantom fandom works just like fandoms from modern animated series do, they you have likely been informed wrong.
I say this as someone who has been part of the Amphibia, The Owl House, The Ghost and Molly Mcgee and other modern animated series fandoms- the Danny Phantom fandom doesn't care about shipping wars, nor the character a person likes (considering characters like Vlad and Dan are very popular characters) nor going dark with its ideas (like having Danny being dissected).
A lot of the dumb stuff that usually happens in modern animation fandoms like harassment because someone ships Tucker x Danny instead of Sam x Danny, or in occasions that turns into downright doxxing- that shit is frowned down in the phandom. This is because this fandom has already been through that many years ago and most of us are adults over 20+ years old.
Like, yeah. If you see someone who is spreading actual racist propaganda, bring an overall bigot, harassing others, etc. Of course, bring it up. That's an actual problem that is worth of alerting others about. There are actual problems that exist in fandom that are worth of talking or discussing about.
What i'm talking about is petty drama that is very common to see in animation fandoms nowadays. Saying things like ¨if this person doesn't like Jazz, then they are sexist¨, yeah, those kind of things won't work in this fandom because a lot of us are older and know better than to engage with pointless discourse.
On second point, please watch the show. Yes, the writing isn't always the best, continuity kinda sucks and there are things that are outdated because it is a Butch Hartman show from 20 years ago. But still, engage with the series of the fandom you want to be part of to understand things better. Just don't stay with the fanon stuff. Try watching the series and use what you like from it based on that.
Having said that, have fun in joining the Phandom!
#danny phantom#phandom#dp fandom#danny phantom a glitch in time#Sorry if this comes out as harsh but the reality as that teens-young adults are too used in modern animation fandom to do whatever they wan#and not expected to be called out when they are being shitty#I have seen it myself a lot of times in modern animated series fandoms#And they should be warned that the phandom doesn't work like that

Ecto Infection: Part 1
Where ectoplasm acts like a sort of infection and those who had brushes with death have it worse.
The bats are no exception.
_______________
Day: 22nd
Month: June
Year: [REDACTED]
The following video you are about to watch was recorded by Dr. [REDACTED] of our research division from group Alpha which was stationed in the location Amity Park Illinois.
We at the Ghost Investigation Ward (G.I.W) advise you to know that these videos are not to be shared with any outside party unless given any permission to do so. Any Information which has been leaked without our consent will result in immediate termination.
_________
"Hello, my name is Dr. [REDACTED] and today I will be going over what me and my team have so far discovered."
*click*
"A few months ago the GIW discovered a huge spike in spectural energy emitting from a small space located in Illionois, we managed to pin down the location as Amity Park and sent troops to scout out the area to see what we could find. Upon our arrival it was clear to see that ectoplasm was abundant, further test showed that not only was it in the air but everywhere, from the water, earth, plants and even wildlife. It was clear that decontamination would not be easy but we are nothing but determined when it comes to our jobs."
*click*
"You already know this by now but ectoplasm appears in places most frequent in death or sometimes, in very rare cases, a portal will open up which it will then proceed to leak into our plane of existence."
"Under any other circumstances ectoplasm would be considered harmless but in large quantities its effects on our world could be dangerous and down right catastrophic, which brings us to the next topic."
*click*
"When large amounts of ectoplasm is introduce to an area the environment begins to warp, changing the land into something more than it should be. This also extends to any wildlife in the ecosystem. I will now show you some of the footage we have gathered."
*click*
A camera is powered on and begins recording with full charge. A small crew that consisted of three armed guards and two scientist march through the area will full caution. Leaves and twigs crunch beneath their feet, each step as careful as the next one.
The camera glitched.
The crew were now near a lake which was much bigger than it should be. A long board walk ventured out far until stopping when it was twenty steps far out. The two scientist got to work collecting sample of the water and soil, while the guards did their jobs.
After some time one of the guards broke off and began walking the board walk while the camera followed, heavy boots making the planks of wood underneath him speak against their will. His walk ended when he was on the last plank, tiltiing their head down to stare at the water.
And then they froze...
Not a single movement or sound could be heard, it was as if all noise just cease to exist. The camera got closer to where the guard was, the quality of the video getting glitchy and a bit staticky as it panned down and captured what the guard was seeing.
There. Right there in the dark waters were a dozen fish like figures, all eyes slightly glowing and looking at the guard.
With anticipation.
With hunger.
The sound of another gaurd calling to them was all that was needed to kickstart the chase.
The gaurd turned on their heel and began to ran back, the camera followed, missing the moment a dark figure leapt out of the water and chomped off an entire plank of wood.
They kept running.
They ducked as a dark shadow leapt from the side hoping to knock them down into the water.
They kept running.
They jumped into the air as jaws filled with rows of sharp needle like teeth came from below to try and take a bite.
They kept running.
All that could be heard behind them was splashed and the sound of wood breaking from whatever was in the water taking bites out of the board walk.
Eventually the guard was able to make it to land where they rejoined the rest of their party and left the area.
*click*
"As you have just witnessed ectoplasm infects the living and turns them into something monsterous. Those 'fish' were just some low leveled infected, dangerous to us still but not as dangerous as some of the other things we have encountered."
"It is important to know that just because something looks harmless you should never underestimate it, this is a lesson some members of our team had unfortunately learned a little too late."
*click*
The camera showed a different group of people, this time ten in total. Three scientist and seven guards entered a building, although the outside resembled any regular abandoned apartment the inside looked well cleaned and managed, as if people still lived here.
Somewhere along the way the group decided to spilt up with each scientist getting two guards and the remaining guards the front and back entrance.
A scream pierced through the air.
The camera which was recording the scientist inspect a strange plant captured the moment the trio jumped at the sound. They all exited the room, running downstairs only to find that both guards who were guarding the entrances were gone and all that was left were their protective armor.
Another scream tore through the air, this time coming from above where the group had just been, followed by echoes of curses before everything went silent again.
At this point it seemed the rest of them decided to leave but before they could open the door a tuft of vines covered the door. The camera panned up to a view of more vines, that hadn't been there before, now covering the ceilling.
One by one everyone was pulled into it. Yelling and screaming for help that they were never going to get.
Silence was returned to the building once again.

"That was a level two threat. When we recieved a distress signal more troops were sent out to the building and all they came back with was the drone with that recording. Despite our loses we were able to discover new knowledge about Amity. It is now known that certain buildings are alive and act as a sort of venus flytrap, crafted specifically to ensnare any human foolish enough to wander through its openings."
"The next anomoly on our list is a levelâ...Itâ Something's notâ ....Oh God..."
An alarm could be heard going off, the video gltiching and audio distorting.
"It's hereâ..."
The video and audio continued to grow more staticky and distorted as some sort of black ooze bled from a corner of the room. It pooled onto the floor quickly, trapping the doctor who tried mercilessly to get out.
Suddenly a hand reached out of the ooze but there was no flesh covering it, it contined to pull itself out revealing its form.
A black skeleton watched the doctor struggle with no eyes.
"STAY AWAY! NOOĂĹ!"

It was lovely. Her and her favorite dragon in all of Pyrrhia, together out on the ice. She was teaching her how to swim and capture polar bears. Everything was perfect, but⌠she wished that she could wrap her wings around her every time she shivered or her breath fogged in the air. Yet, she was an IceWing, she ran just as cold as the air around her. It would only make things worse. She was never one to wish that she was a different tribe- IceWings were objectively the best, after all, have some pride in your tribe, Icicle!- but she just wished that she was as warm as the other tribes, thatâs all. To protect her from the frigid cold, from the harsh wind. Blanket her wings around her, shield her from the rest of the world. Icicle watched as Sora stamped her feet, trying to warm up before diving back into the water. Even the way she braved the cold was captivating. Icicle has never felt this at ease with another dragon. Everybody always expected so much from her, being a First Circle next in line for the throne and all. Nobody has ever treated her with kindness like Sora did. All soft around the edges and shy smiles. She was quiet and expected nothing from her. Back at home everything was sharp, orders and expectations weighed heavily on the spines along her back. Icicle never expected to like it as much as she did at Jade Mountain, especially after finding out that she would be roomed with a Mudwing of all tribes. But after getting to know her more, Sora made everything worth it. She didnât know it was possible for dragons to show her so much kindness before this. She was so lucky to have her as a clawmate. âA MudWing, seriously?â The vision melted away. Icicle did not respond. âI mean, really, how many MudWings have you killed in the war?â Icicle remained silent. The scene changed around Scarlet and her. A field of dead dragons, MudWings and IceWings alike. A mosaic of blue and red painted the turf. Smoke and decay permeated her nostrils. The smell was impossible to forget, even all these years later. Red MudWing blood stained her claws.

During patrol Nightwing found a handmade doll that resembled his hero persona, this wouldn't be so weird if it weren't for the fact that he finds dolls resembling the other members of the batfam's hero personas scattered in odd spots throughout Gotham and Bludhaven. The weirdest thing happens when one night he finds a doll of someone he doesn't recognize. It's a pale teen with white hair and bright green button eyes wearing what looks like a black and white hazmat suit. Nightwing picks it up and the doll immediately bursts into Lazarus green flames. Nightwing finally decided to tell the fam about the dolls not knowing that Phantom, who was sealed in a sarcophagus by treacherous observents several years prior, was now awake. The problem is that the sarcophagus is in the batcave as a trophy, needless to say everyone was surprised when the lid suddenly blew off and out stepped a teenager. Danny is a mix of anger and confusion because this definitely isn't Amity Park
You know. This is almost the exact plot of another, non-dp-related-AU Iâve seen. Itâs @/ovegakart doll AU, itâs an AU of Linked Universe, which is itself a LoZ AU where a bunch of Links have come together across time because reasons I wonât get into. In the second ever LoZ game, Adventure of Link, there are these dolls that are scattered across the map. They give you an extra life. So, in ovegakartâs AU, the Link from the first game and AoL(it the same link)finds dolls of himself and the other Links while in his own time. Then, in a well, he finds a doll of a Link none of them have ever seen before. He picks it up and it bursts into flames. I checked, thatâs what happened, here is a link to the page. Oh, and Nightwing not telling his family about the dolls until he gets Dannyâs? The same thing happened in this AU, where AoL Link doesnât tell the other Links about the dolls until he comes across the mysterious Link doll. That mystery Link is the First Hero btw, heâs from the Skyward Sword manga.
I wouldâve liked it if you, I dunno, credited the idea? Or at least make it not so obvious by changing the doll into something else? Or make it so that Nightwing only finds a Danny doll? Maybe have it melt into ectoplasm even? I have a couple posts already about how Iâm a LU fan on here, and if youâve seen that before, then did you think I didnât follow ovegakart, one of the biggest LU/LoZ creators? Listen, Iâm not mad at you, Iâm just confused at your thought process here. This AU idea wasnât made for dpxdc, it doesnât even make much sense for it. Yeah yeah, people can do whatever they want, whatever, but at least credit it my god. Or change it up to suit dpxdc more, or both.
How many other people have just taken AU ideas from others and pawned it off as their own, thinking that no one would find out since theyâre from another fandom? It makes me feel gross. Please, just credit the idea. If I just posted this with some writing adding onto this, not knowing about this idea coming from another fandom and another person. I think I might need to close my asks for a bit, I donât feel great, sorry.
#danny phantom#dp x dc#dpxdc#revenant prompted#anon ask#is this discourse? fandom neg?#idk but anon. donât like you very much. I donât hate you but you make me feel kinda weird with how you just took this idea w/ no crediting#Iâm in such a bad mood now I canât believe I woke up to this#likely just overreacting but I really donât feel good#youâre lucky your on anon or else I wouldnât have posted this feeling like I put you on blast. I donât want to do that#do I tag as Lu? I brought it up. Might just bring it up on my own blog to let others know.#or rant to one of Lu friends. I dunno I feel wary I feel bad I donât like this anon why couldnât you just do the simple act of saying;#âI got inspired by ovegakart/this Lu creator whoâs name I donât remember/this Lu/LoZ AUâ#why you gotta be so uncouth anon? Learn to credit your sources you seem to be old enough to know how to do that#sorry for coming of as mean. Iâm not trying to be but I just woke up and now I wished I never did. Okay that was dramatic but yeah#sorry
