Here's an idea: Fear toxin causes ghosts to go into a berserker rage. No one knows this until one of the Phantoms gets dosed with the stuff.

Inspired by this ask

“Phantom!” Wonder Woman shouted. “Snap out of it!”

Phantom snarled, his eyes glowing bright enough to look like two miniature green suns. The cold that radiated off of him was bone-chilling and sent fear striking through all of their chests, as if Death loomed over them with the blade of the scythe lifted over their heads.

He flew forward and blasted at her with his ghost ray, sending her flying backwards and straight at Green Arrow, who was unable to dodge in time.

Phantom’s clones broke apart their teamwork, even if one of him could barely be handled. Superman was already unconscious and so were a few other members of the Justice League. Ice and blood littered the leveled city and it was only growing as Phantom attacked indiscriminately.

Batman could only raise the ghost shield to protect the civilians around them, cursing as Phantom thoroughly shattered their defenses and numbers through sheer strength.

How were they supposed to know that Scarecrow had reached out to others beyond Gotham and one of the latest black market drugs had been made with it? Even worse, they had not anticipated Phantom being attacked by one, nor did they expect his sheer power.

Phantom was a new addition to the Justice League, but he was a welcome one. He was young and excitable, but his kindness and heroism had endeared him to them all. To see him like this, mindless and drugged by fear toxin, it both broke their hearts and almost made them want to fall to their knees in terror.

Like this, it was no wonder that Phantom had once offhandedly mentioned that he was worshipped by a cult.

His raw strength, unhindered by morals or emotions, rivaled demons and gods.

“Phantom! Break through it! You can’t be controlled by the fear toxin!” Batman screamed, hoping that he could somehow reach through Phantom’s drugged mind.

One of his clones blasted him with ice and then threw several cars at him, all of which Batman had to dodge, only for the clone to phase through the flying cars and strike him while he was distracted.

Black Canary gave a sonic scream at Phantom, who blinked once, before whirling around and then screaming right back. His sonic scream made all of their ear drums burst, almost rivaling Black Canary’s, except his had no control and no musical finesse. It was like the horrifying cry of a baby dying, of a mother screaming for her child, of a soldier dying in battle, of the last breath of a man on his death bed.

It was horrible and it was the first time Batman had ever seen Superman both convulse awake and then be knocked back into unconsciousness from the pain of his erupted eardrums multiple times in a row.

They were losing. Badly.

Batman hesitated on what to do, only able to call out orders as Justice League members struggled against Phantom, when suddenly, there was a voice nearby.

“Excuse me?” A sweet voice called and Batman whirled around, wide eyed to stare at a young woman, tall and red haired. She didn’t seem to notice the chaos and screaming around her, only blinking at him slowly.

“You can’t be here,” Batman interrupted harshly. “Please step away! We are currently combatting a volatile enemy and you will get hurt! Please step back!”

The woman blinked and then smiled.

“I’m here to help,” she said. “I heard there was trouble?”

Batman froze before hope bloomed in his chest. “You’re—!”

She nodded gently. “Yes. I’m Jazz. I’m here to help, so… what do you want me to do?”

DP x DC x Spiderman

THIS CAME TO ME IN A VISION WHILE I WAS MINDLESSLY WORKING AT MY JOB

Ok, recently I've been into the "Spiderman gets transported into Gotham" fics and suddenly I thought "Danny and Peter stuck in the same body while trying to survive Gotham"

(if you want to write this go ahead)

OK STICK WITH ME

Peter gets transported to Gotham after Dr. Strange does his spell but it (the spell not strange) takes things further and transports him to a new dimension with no Peter Parker. He ends up climbing out of a Lazarus pit, his body in absolute pain.

At the same time, Danny is fleeing his home dimension because *whatever you decide* and ends up flying into a portal and overshadowing a person that's, for some reason, in the portal (Lazarus pits are portals to the infinite realms). Because of the weird fuckery that is ectoplasm, Dannys ghost status, and the Lazarus pits, Danny and Peter end up sharing a body but neither realize it yet.

Peter passed out instantly while Danny is kinda out of it (and driving the body he thinks is his) and ends up wandering Gotham, finds some clothes, and finds an abandoned building to sleep in.

Peter wakes up thinking he did all this while on adrenaline and just shrugs it off. He wanders Gotham and then goes back to the building he woke up in, that's when Danny wakes thinking he overshadowed someone and freaks Peter out as well.

Both pass out in shock.

Danny was the one to wake up the next time they woke up and tries to go ghost but can't (something changes though). He tries his other abilities and those work. He goes to find his reflection and his face is different but has his familiar black hair and blue eyes. Peter wakes up and speaks to Danny on his head and now both freaking out again. They calm down and talk about what happened.

Peter says that's his face and body but with black hair and blue eyes. They try to switch which causes dizziness but Peter is in control now with brown hair and hazel-green eyes.

Basically: when Peter is in control of the body he looks like himself. When Danny is in control, the body has black hair and blue eyes. When Danny 'goes ghost' while in control then he gets his white hair and green eyes, but the body doesn't change.

I'd like to think they have to learn each other's abilities now. danny has to learn how to not stick to things (plus he gets to try how gravity actually affects him now) and how to deal with the spider sense.

Peter has to learn basically pages worth of abilities😭. He has to learn not to go through things, turn invisible, start floating, etc. Peter can't go ghost and when Danny passes out when he is in ghost mode, it just turns off but maybe during extremely stressful situations or life and death moments, Peter can go ghost, it doesn't last very long though.

Time for some silly shenanigans:

Danny runs into Jason for whatever, maybe he was robbing him (even funnier answer, Danny was stealing Jason's bike wheels) and Jason gets him food. Next time, Peter runs into Jason and Dick while Peter was dumpster diving for, idk, tech parts. Dick and Peter are talking while Jason is staring at Peter. Internally, Peter is freaking while Danny isn't helping.

Then Jason asks if he has a twin.

Danny is losing it, just laughing as Peter has to deal with this. But Peter-blurt out the first thing in your mind-Parker says "yes, we got separated and I'm looking for him while I'm staying at my uncle's apartment".

So now Peter has to come with a whole backstory and reason why they're separated and why he won't go to the police. ("Acab bitch" Danny says and Peter repeats without question. Jason this time loses it while dick pouts and peter is horrified by what he said)

Peter and Danny making up fake identities, families, and backstory.

i think it would really be funny if Danny is the ghost prince (waiting to be crowned after his death) so the Infinite realms are up in arms about their beloved prince being missing and his last known signature/location is the dc universe. so now JLD is scrambling to find him and all the while he is just chilling in someone's head.

some fun/interesting arguments: the way they view death. peter is a very "do not kill" guy, basically his ideals align with batman (maybe. I'm not extremely knowledgeable in spiderman lore) and Danny-being a ghost/the ghost king-has different views. i think he's still a "try to save everyone" type of guy but has exceptions.

maybe they share dreams which leads to horrifying nightmares.

another fun thing: they're both inventors so they can look at a microwave and just break it apart to build something new.

another point: Danny's weirdness as a ghost

Peter: did you just stick something in our body??? i cant feel it??

Danny: oh yeah. i do that sometimes. im pretty sure i stuck our phone in out chest.

Peter: Get it out?!??

To be or not to be (a blackmailer) part 2

After the incident with Damian, word spread throughout the Wayne family, and now everyone was fighting over who would get to meet the newest member of the family (aside from Alfred, who was simply too dignified for something like that, and Bruce, who knew that Danny was coming over next weekend to visit the foster kittens.)

Jason was the next to interact with Danny, and contrary to what anyone says, it was purely by accident that he managed to bump into the kid.

Danny was chasing after a ghost who had stolen his newest invention for a Wayne Industries competition. He was hoping to use the invention to gain an internship in the engineering department and finally get out of the fast food industry. The ghost was a child and seemed to grab anything shiny or even remotely interesting.

He'd chased the kid all the way to a warehouse in Crime Alley where the kid lost steam and gave up the chase. Danny grabs the device, rips open a bright green portal, and shoves the kid through before quickly closing it again.

He's not in a hurry to head home, and he kinda needs to stop at the store anyway for a few ingredients before Tim comes by for dinner, so he transforms out of ghost form after making sure no one is around. He doesn't really come to Crime Alley often, so he wasn't expecting the mugging he was being subjected to by some creep with a pocketknife. He wasn't surprised (it's Crime Alley after all) but he'd been going over his grocery list in his head.

He was debating whether to completely ignore the guy or to punch the guy in the face when Red Hood came out of nowhere and smacked him around before turning to Danny and making sure he was ok.

Danny, of course, has to say something snarky while at the same time reassuring the hero that he was, in fact, just dandy.

Jason didn't rush all the way over here for nothing and racked his brain for any ideas that would let him hang with Danny. He didn't have to, though, because Danny stared at him with starry eyes and enthusiastically asked for an autograph AND a picture in one breathless sentence. Mentally punching the air he brings out his own phone and they both get pictures of the duo.

Jason only wanted the photo to rub it in everyone's face while Danny wanted a keepsake of his favorite Gotham hero. No matter what Tim said, Red Robin was Not the best and that was something they'd just have to agree to disagree on even if Tim did grumble about it every time it was brought up.

Red Hood drove Danny to the store and even waited for him to finish so he could drive him home. A few more pics in hand, and a dazed Danny was dropped off at his apartment.

The Wayne manor was in an uproar when the pics hit the Batfam group chat.

Under the Cover of Knight

The High Queen Phantom and her two heirs are doing quite splendidly, so Fright Knight thinks. But he realizes that suitors must soon be screened, even if unwillingly.

Though before, this had been done by specifically trained ghosts, Pariah's tendencys had undone that. Therefore, it was up to him, as the royal family's guard.

He may not be able to create a mortal disguise, but he was nothing if not determined. So Fright Knight sets out to find Lady Gotham, who is delighted to let him stay and search for the potential suitors of the royal family. She wishes him the best of luck!

After proudly announcing his presence to two mortals in an alley, he now had two new workers in his search for the suitors.

He attempts to test many of the prominent mortals and liminals he comes across, though it usually results in being obscured or outright attacked.

Fright Knight sits on the floor of an abandoned house, deep in thought, his numerous soldiers in search working around him. Harold Devita has bought hotdogs.

Perhaps, Fright Knight should not be upfront. Perhaps, he could employ some trickery. Knight he may be, but Halloween is the day of tricks, after all.

Yes, this will work quite nicely. The royal family will be most pleased! No thank you, Harold Devita. I am already full of triumph. This plan cannot possibly fail.

Back at it again with more Zootles stuff! I've been busy prepping for the con this Sunday so this is a bit late lol! I tried to replicate the cover style of the Beast Complex mangas! :)

The arrival of The Zootles in America was celebrated like how the people would when the Beastar arrives to their home; They were absolutely worshipped like gods. Nobody had any power here, not even the current Beastar, not when Zootlemania was at an all time high. Besides, who needed a Beastar when these four scrappy beasts from Liverpool did more for the Carnivore-Herbivore friendship than anything that old beast ever did?

Little did anyone know, this would be the turning point of The Zootles, whether good or bad no one knew yet.

DP x DC ramble: Types of power

Now, in this particular fandom, there’s a tendency to make an OP Danny

That’s a neutral statement, a lot of people just happen to like and post OP Danny

For the most part, not my taste but it can be fun in some contexts, but overpowered Danny isn’t my default

Now, Danny is physically strong. His abilities are combat focused and he can hold his own in a fight. He probably has a little less physical strength than you’d think since he uses gravity nullification to lift heavy things, but it’s impressive regardless. He has a goodly variety of offensive and defensive abilities that make him formidable is a fight

But the strongest characters in DC aren’t necessarily strong in that way

Superman is physically very strong, incredibly powerful, but he’s still nowhere near the level of the actual strongest characters, because their power is a very different type

Like I’m talking reality manipulation, omniscience, abilities that involve power over people’s very souls (and a ghost is a human soul) and where they end up. Psychopomps and some much more. I’m talking about beings that can mold the flesh of humans to remove something like a cancer and repair damage with barely a thought

And they’re mainly held in check by rules, mostly just being polite, sometimes Divine laws

This is a type of power Danny is not equipped to handle

It’s a very different game than Danny is playing. He can physically throw down, he might have an army if it’s Ghost King AU, but this is “can kill you with a literal snap and the snap is just for dramatic effect” territory

Danny is playing high school American football, these characters are playing Professional soccer aka what every other country calls football

It’s a very different game, and if he’s trying to play with them, he’s going to struggle

And that’s fine, he can still be OP and not be playing on the same field as Lucifer, or the Spectre, or various demon lords and so on, because it’s a different kind of power

But just arbitrarily saying he’s more powerful really undersells why they are powerful. Being able to punch good is not the same as a character that can just send him to the afterlife. Someone being able to reshape Danny’s body at their will isn’t going to be concerned about his ecto blasts

A Tuna is a big fish, but the ocean is VAST and DEEP

All this to say you’d have to drastically alter Danny’s actual power set to make him able to compete, otherwise you’re just de-powering the actual strongest characters, which is less impressive since it missed the point of WHY they were strong

Just because you can solve a sheet of math problems doesn’t mean you’re going to be able to ace a three page essay on the poetry of Keats

This has been my thoughts on the matter, be sure to grab a souvenir from the gift shop

Also just going to sneak this in:

Danny should probably be more concerned about magic users

Magic clearly can affect him, just look at the Freak Show incident from season one, that’s not even getting into the reality gauntlet. Now add in the fact that there’s a variety of magic items/artifacts in DC and a slew other of magic uses and occultists that can summon and bind ghosts, spirits, and demons to do their bidding

Danny is firmly in the category of beings that magic specifically deals with, he should probably be a bit more concerned about magic users
