Hello! I have a question. What does “enben” mean? Is it a replacement for “enby”?

Hi! Good question!

Enben is the plural of enban, the non-binary gendered equivalent of man/woman. It is derived from the term enby. I prefer to use it because enby was initially understood to be a term that referred to non-binary youth. Whilst not everyone uses it that way, I personally prefer to use enban to describe all non-binary people to both show enben that there is more vocabulary to describe ourselves, but also to subtly uninfantilise non-binary people. Enban is a more adult feeling option. It also helps popularise these terms so other enben as well as binary people are aware of nonbinary vocabulary.

When did the queer community suddenly decide that transneutral androgyny (especially in afab people who don't pass), was somehow accepted by cishet society? What alternate earth do you guys live on where this is a thing? If someone looks completely neutral they are not accepted for their nonbinary identity, they are given extreme amounts of hatred. It is not palletable to cis audiences, or to cis people irl. Please actually go outside and realize there isn't a type or androgynous presentation that's seen as socially acceptable. There is no androgynous presentation that doesn't make most cishet people see you as less then human, and there is no type of enby that most cishet people are at all accepting of.

It gets especially gross when afab enbies are so deeply hated for being "too pretty to cis people". Because one: they're not, the average cishet bigot does not see an androgynous afab person as human or sexual. And two: putting someone down because you think they're attractive to men is a really gross way of proving you see them as a woman.

I know it’s hard because it’s a learned behavior (and I’m far from perfect myself,) but people need to stop saying ‘women and nonbinary people’ when what they mean is women and other assigned female folks. Assigned male enby people exist and that kind of language doesn’t help them.

everyone forgets there was a whole mesopotamian myth about ishtar blessing enbies with foresight and healing and being awesome. the whole myth was about how hot enby people are that one seduced the god of death to save ishtar and so they were cursed to be hated by their households, but loved by ishtar and blessed, and even more blessed if they remembered ishtar's blessing, so much so that she would dance at their feet. even even more so if they worshipped her in return. so yeah, enbies are divinely awesome, cursed for being too hot

Enbiness is something to be celebrated, leaving the binary behind and living your own life is beautiful and should be celebrated!! the thing about the term "theyfab" is not that it's the most offensive slur I've ever heard or been called. It's not particularly creative or interesting or vicious.
