“Hey have you heard? About Patton? He’s the only demon who has ever come back from heaven”

The words were said in a hushed tone like it was a deep secret even though nearly all of the new succubi had gathered around like kids around a campfire to hear it. The sound of the older succubus’ voice echoed against the stark white halls of the sleeping hall as they continued.

“It happened during the middle ages”

“Are you kidding me!? The whole Patton shit went down way earlier than that” Another demon interrupted. “I heard it definitely happened some time before the 1700s” “Nah I know a guy who knew a guy who was there when it happened”

“-It doesn’t matter that much exactly when it happened” They first demon continued “What matters is that he broke EVERY rule a succubus can. He fell in love with a human and then he ATE them”

A gasp went through the group of new succubi followed by whispers and muffled laughter. At the back two nearly identical demons sat close together with their tails intertwined with each other. One of them perked up at the mention of the feast.

“Yeah he was obsessed with humans” Another older demons agreed. “He killed the human too of course. Like talk about rule breaker. We can’t even hurt humans and he goes and kills one!” “He was with an angel too” “Almost forgot that! Yeah I think he killed the angel too” “Angels are the grossest, imagine dating them? Ugh” “He was never with an angel?? And it was multiple humans. Not just one” “I’m telling you it was multiple humans AND angels”

“-And obviously since he broke the rules THAT bad he didn’t even get punished, Instead he got sent up to heaven immediately. Do you newbies know what they do to demons in heaven?”

Some nodded while others shook their heads. Some mumbled jokes about what it could be but they quieted when they saw the older demon simply drag their finger across their neck.

“But Patton’s the only demon who’s survived heaven” The demon shrugged “No one knows how he survived but I’ve heard he’s still out there”

The other succubi nodded in agreement. Patton still being alive was the only thing about the legend they could agree on.

“I think he just went on an angel massacre” “No no no, he used the contact with his angel lover to escape” “He just like used insane levels of charm to become buddies with the angels, obviously”

The nearly identical succubi at the back of the group glanced at each other. One of them grinned while the other slid his tail closer around the other’s as if he was afraid Patton would suddenly jump out and eat them as well.

Even though they’d only appeared a few days ago they already looked like they were in their early 20s. It wasn’t unusual, all demons appeared as adults immediately. The thing unusual about them was that the two of them had appeared as twins.

One of the older demons looked back at the group and asked “How long have you newbies been here anyway?”

“27 years!” Remus exclaimed “We’ve been at this for 27 years and Ro-ro starts expecting a present NOW?! His brain has dropped out of his ass again”

‘I’ve seen something about liiiike humans having birthday presents. Girl you know how much he likes like doing that human stuff. He’s such a patton about it’ Remy replied.

“We were never even born! We just appeared like every other fucker!”

‘Let him feel like a bit special. It’s totally great for the mind to feel like the most main character evar’

Remus ate another handful of chips from the bar counter before grabbing the salt with his tail to chug down his throat. Remy let their eyes wander across the bar from one corner to the other as if they were checking a resturant menu all while leaning against the barcounter.

The demons were both tall and skinny, Remy in the slender way while Remus looked more like a lanky waluigi with all his veins on their way to pop out. Their faces were uncannily symmetrical and wrinkle free. They were succubi, of course they had been molded to fit all of the beauty standards humans had created. If a succubi was created differently rumors always spread that they’d been made like that just to fullfill a fetish like...well like being twins for example.

Dark brown curls made up Remus’ hair which he usually just put in messy hairties and let fester. Sometimes humans called his hair ‘kinky’ which he found very amusing. humans also tended to ask if he knew spanish which he didn’t have any particular thoughts on because he wasn’t sure what spain even was. Out of the curls on the top of his head rose two large vibrantly red horns, though that along with his tail was hidden from the human eye. Somehow he had found a way to make himself both stinky and quite dirty 24/7. The only part of him he took good care of was his mustache honestly. Even his clothes were mostly just stuff Roman had gotten him so he wouldn’t become a total nudist.

Remy looked like they’d never left 2005 which was honestly kind of true. They could probably sniff out if there was a sale on juicy couture 50 miles away. They had just as pale and pinkish of a skin tone as a naked rat which made their tail look really ratlike. To try and hide that they usually decorated their tail. Dark sunglasses nearly always hid their eyes and their horns glowed a cold blue. Even in the most crowded of rooms their short hair in stark white made them stand out. Remus had never seen them in any other hair color than that exact white so sometimes he wondered how it got that way. He tried to not think about it too much. They had also gone deaf later in life which didn’t impact their apperance but did make their pronounciation when speaking a bit unusual, the twins didn’t mind.

‘You think a threat would be a good birthday present?’ Remus had de-yelled a little so he started to sign so Remy could understand him better. Lightning usually wasn’t the best in a bar after all, it would be hard to read lips.

‘Not since you tots give Ro threats like every day’ They signed back ‘Bingo! A human is looking at me. How loud is it in here? How loud I gotta talk?’

Remus hmmmed for a moment before answering with ‘Maybe a 6 on the loud scale? Not the loudest bar we’ve been at’

A guy was indeed looking at them and he soon came up to talk to them. Succubi didn’t autimatically know any human languages and Remy had only bothered to learn the most basic things in the most popular languages like “Sex?” and “Hotel or car?”. (Aside from them knowing american sign language fluently because demons didn’t have their own sing language sadly). Having to rely on reading lips with most humans didn’t help either.

The succubi relied on nodding and saying words mumbly enough so it could be taken for nearly any language (which country were they in now again?). Remus kept eating chips.

“Girl Wouldn’t like some experience based gift be like good for Ro?” Remy continued the conversation while the guy started to get more touchy “Like some museum thing or fishing or whatevs humans like to do in their spare time”

‘Nah. Roman already does all that shit with her human...companions..She said she went to a concert with A little nas and the x a few days ago. I may be a lot of things like stupid and full of snot-fungi but i’m not even a little bit nas’

“Yeah but like isn’t you showing interest in her human hobby the like tottallyy important part? Wait”

Remy motioned for the guy to pause and gave Remus a half tired look before pointing between the three of them and making a questionable sound to the guy. They shimmied their shoulders just to be extra clear. The guy was looking at them like he was about to bust a nut right there

The guy leaned in and kissed Remy’s shoulder. In return they grabbed ahold of his jacket and pulled him along towards the exit. Remus stuffed more salt into his pockets before following along.

“So are you two tourists or?” The guy chuckled out without getting any response.

Soon after Remus held the door to the hotel room open while Remy made out with the guy. They always wore clothes easy to take off on days when they went to earth. The clothes got scattered on the floor before they pushed the guy onto the bed.

“Maybe the best gift I could give Ro is to just disappear and shut up for a day?” Remus looked over to hear Remy’s response before realizing they were too busy to read his lips right now.

He searched around the hotel room for any dead rats or mold before sitting down at the edge of the bed. He hugged the pillow and tried to conclude if the guy’s moans sounded more like an elk screaming or a raven calling.

“Nothing you....like you remember Ro wishing for?” Remy continued the conversation while fucking. Multitasking!

“Swords maybe. Hmm maybe I could get a sword”

“Wasn’t this going to be a threesome?” The guy interrupted.

“He Is Soooo fucking clearly doing his part in the threesome by sitting there you idiot” Remy waved over to Remus’ sitting right next to them on the bed.

“Yeah I’m being so involved!” He was literally just sitting there.

“I don’t know what roleplay you two have going on with only talking to me in your language but it’s really working for me” The guy butted in again.

“You’re not a part of the discussion dummy” Remus replied. Remy simply did the sign for ‘ignore’.

Remy was about to give another gift suggestion when the feeling of feeding distracted them. They arched back, still straddling on top of the guy, and let their eyes close for a moment as a feeling of fullness hit them one bite at a time.

Not only did succubi seduce humans because it was their job to try and make humans sin so more of them went to hell. They also feed off of the lust the same way a demon from the greed circle would feed on the greed if they managed to get a human to reckleesly spend or gamble it all away. It was the only way for them to feed. A demon could eat all the human food they want and still never be able to survive on it.

They leant their forehead against the nape of the human’s neck while continuing their job. Remus went back to study the hints of mold growing inside the carpet and the cracks in the bed. He saw Remy ask if he wanted to feed as well but he shook his head.

“Where can I even steal a sword. Either I can rob human’s houses until I find one with a sick ass sword or I can try to steal one from one of the higher up demons” Remus said when he noticed Remy picking up their clothes again.

He helped them tie the laces of their shoes while they took on their jacket. The guy was close to falling asleep on the bed when they left without saying goodbye. Remy stretched as soon as they got outside making the bones in their neck and wrists crack.

‘girl I must have given that guy like a good time cause I feel like I just ate a 5 course meal and like 2 steaks’ They bumped their shoulder against Remus before signing ‘Back to hell?’

“Please. If I stay on earth too long my skin is gonna crawl back and my mustaches gonna fall off”

The two demons went to the closest door and Remus laid his hand onto the door handle. He uttered a string of words in a language impossible to comprehend to the mind’s of non-demons all while his horns lit up. The horns turned warm, to a nearly burning deegree while shining bright red like a lighthouse from hell.

The phrase had to be said to open the doors between hell and earth. As soon as demons were created the phrase already existed in their minds in the same way a baby birds already knows they should fly south for winter.

The door swung open “Fuckers first” He said while motioning for Remy to through it first.

‘bastards first’ They replied.

“Eternally lazy bufoons”

‘People with minus brain’

“Dickpigs”

‘Gross bitches stuck with the humor of a hormonal ape’

“Good one” Remus said while walking through the door.

The hallways of the succubi’s quarters were stark white with walls that extended upwards in physically impossible ways. Most of the rooms were filled with beds barely spaced apart for the many succubi squadrons. Remus, Remy and Roman were all apart of the same squadron all working under the same manager to seduce humans. It was wellknown knowledge that their squadron was one of the worst performing ones and it was even more wellknown that it was mostly Remus’ fault.

The rest of the rooms were used for the monthly meetings with the managers with rare rooms here and there for accounting and storage.

It was all painted white as a reminder that heaven was never far away. A reminder of what would happen if they broke the rules.

‘Girlie I’m gonna head to the library and see if Emiles there. Wanna like come along?’

“Nah I think I have some rotting flesh to inspect or something. Dirt to shovel into my mouth. That sort of thing”

Remy gave him a hug before walking away. Remus waited until they’d disappeared behind a corner before dramatically falling face first directly down into the floor. He liked the sound of his body hitting the marble ground vibrating through his skull, hopefully he could make someone trip over him.

His tail moved up to his chest and he could feel the thing called a heart beating at a rapid pace as he caught his breathe. His legs ached just from keeping up with Remy’s walking speed. His tail continued down against his arm, feeling how the skin on his hands had started to turn rough and leather like. It was a way for the body to retain heat when it didn’t have enough energy to warm itself otherwise.

Like on queue he could feel how the little body heat he had from moving around started to disappear as soon as he laid down. Remus laid still and focused on his different body parts going cold one after the other until his whole body felt like a corpse. His fingers had turned purple. He would have prefered it more if they turned red when cold because then it’d match his horns and he could pretend like he could shoot lasers from his nails.

Remus didn’t want Remy to see him right now because there was nothing more annoying to him than people nagging him about feeding as if he wasn’t acutely aware every minute of every day that he hadn’t fed enough.

Normally demons (aside from sloth demons) didn’t need sleep since they got enough energy from feeding off of humans. Sleeping as hard as cat was basically the only way Remus got through the day.

The coldness of the floor mixed together with his cold skin until it was all a blur of painful white and he fell asleep.

If Remus stood on the tip of his toes on top of the balcony railing he could just about gaze out into the larger ranges of the rocky mountains that made up hell. Human screams echoed up to him. It looked like fun.

Technically he was allowed to leave the demon living corridors and walk out into the rings but he was far too nauseous today to move much. Getting to feel the hot wind of hellfire and hearing the screaming was enough for him.

A tingly feeling filled his brain for a moment as he practically felt his brother approaching. He threw the birthday present into his pocket before Roman had time to turn the corner.

“Ooooh Shithead!” Roman greeted while kicking Remus right in the calves from behind. “Happy birthday!”

Roman looked nearly identical to her twin with just as red horns and dark hair. She was a bit heavier than him, some might call plump, and her hair shorter. His tail had a neat red bow around it and he constantly wore clothes inspired by royal renaissance and roccoco clothing. They were some of his favorite cultural times in human history. How he wished he could have been alive during those times.

Remus in return for the kick moved his tail to swat at her head “Happy day of birth I guess. What else you want you inbreed bitch?!”

“Well aside from blessing you with my time and congratulations, I just wanted to brag about just having come back from Veeenice!” When her brother stared dumbfounded at her she added “The city with all of the water, remember?”

“No”

Roman put him in a headlock and Remus tried to bite at his ear while the conversation continued “The humans were having their cute little festival! With the mask! It was great! I fed off of this art collector and when he wasn’t looking I took one of his lil paintings. I think I’m gonna hang it up by my bed. So pretty!”

Remus faked a yawn before poking his brother in the ribs to get out of the headlock. Roman did a time out sign with his tail while looking around in his handbag.

She pulled out a box neatly wrapped in red and golden bows with star stickers all around it. An excited grin played on her lips as she held it out to her twin. He looked between her and the box before taking it and immediately ripping all of the wrapping apart and gnashing at the bows with his teeth.

When it was just a half destroyed box left he said “Gee thanks! I love destroying things! Great present!!”

“The present is inside the box. Not the box itself....Though you can keep the box too...I think” Inside the box laid a hamburger of ridicolously big size. “Ta-da! It’s the most filling food I could find! Should keep you full for a bit! It’s from heartattack grill so it’s a bit morbid too!! And the meat is very extra rare like you like it!”

“The only better thing is raw!”

“Dukey to be honest i am around 80% expecting you to have forgotten to get me anything because of your pea sized brain”

“Hehe...pee...BUT you’re wrong! Look who is pee sized now! YOU! I did get you something marvelous and supercool and skullbusting and ass slapping! I got youuuuu THIS!”

He pulled out a lump of coal from his pocket and threw it at his twin. Roman caught it with his tail before squinting at it.

“I know you’re gogo crazy patton levels of obsessed with humans so I got Emile to look through some books bout human gift traditions and translate some stuff for me and I saw something about coal usually being given during some like crisis-mess holiday or whatever. SO I got you one! Happy birthday”

Roman squinted at it again before smiling a bit “It’s pronounced Christmas but thanks....Stinky idiot” They gave each other a pat on the shoulder that turned more into slapping “But seriously don¨t call me a patton again, that’s crossing the rude line”

“Sure yeah sure cool cool. If there’s one thing I love it is standing by metaphorical lines”

Roman tried to (mostly jokingly) swat at his twin again with his tail right before Remus launched to tackle him.

At the same time sometime far away on earth Janus woke up well past noon once more. The sun shone in through the blinds of his dorm room lightning up the floor in streaks of shining gold. Something heavy and unfamiliar laid in the middle of the floor but Janus was too tired to pay any mind to it, it was probably just a hoodie Virgil had forgotten anyway.

It wasn’t until the rotten stench got to him he pulled himself up to look. A dead rat had somehow found it’s way into the dorm. Janus wished he was surprised but death always seemed to find a way close to him.

hello and welcome to the first of several

~Fic Introduction Posts~

I'm just going to use these to take my time talking about my fanfics a bit, introducing myself to a new audience, &c. because new social media platforms means new people to reach!

first up: Apology on Wood and Canvas

this is my first explicit One Piece fanfic. it's also currently my most kudosed OP fic! it's an extremely tender & poetic LuSan piece set in the aftermath of Whole Cake Island. it's just under 2k.

I really enjoyed writing this dynamic. as in canon, Luffy is asexual, so he & Sanji's relationship here could best be described as some form of queerplatonic. as I put it in my summary: "It wasn't about attraction. It was about devotion; it was about absolution."

there's also a lot of vivid imagery, so if you like your prose with a heavy dash of poetry, then I think you'll like this style. it's quite poetic, but not so much that it gets weighed down by it. I'm very proud of it.

goodhello tumblr! let me introduce myself...

i'm ashling, 23 (as of november 2022), i'm an asexual lesbian and a bts army :] my bias is yoomgi but i love all seven so so much!

daechwita, on, wab:te, they all drew me into army, but what made me stay were your eyes tell and the way we fought teeth and nails to get dynamite to 100m views in a day. i loved the feeling of belonging, the rush of "strength in numbers" that fateful august 21st gave me, and soon i'd found a home in bts and army

i'm from italy, just recently finished a bachelor's degree in chinese literature, though i can speak decent english (duh), and also a little bit of german. learning languages has become a very addictive hobby so don't be weirded out if i repost stuff in other languages too, korean included~

i write fics and poems from time to time, love sketching/travel journaling, baking, making terrariums, and of course singing and all things music and languages

oh! and i have two cats, dory the orange cat, and nemo the black cat, and i'm a beekeeper in training :]

Having read in a fic something about "making the parts of a relationship bigger that bring joy, are effortless and remind us of our connection, and making those parts smaller that bring arguments and anger, but still working through these problems bit by bit" is kind of obvious advice but never having the language myself to word it so simply and logically (cause EMOTIONS :D) I'm grateful for fic writers :)

Always feeling like I couldn't word that without being seen as deflective or avoidant but instead just wanting to work through stuff while not being in the storm of emotions all the time and still having good times as to not lose sight of the genuine connection at hand by only having arguments.

AHH good question!! I have a general idea for most characters, but for some I have plans :3

As for dating:

I honestly have no clue with Bruce, but that's just how it is all the time, isn't it?

Dick is dating Wally, because Birdflash for the win!! But he has dated Kori in the past, Babs, (and etc) and they're still good friends to this day :)

Jason I'm still debating on. I like him and Roy and I think it's a popular ship? I haven't looked too far into it. I also hear that Jay, Roy, AND Kori are a ship and that's so so so good

Tim and Kon are in their "will they won't they" where everyone else knows they're dating and they also know they're dating but they don't bring it up at all. Also might have a YJ polycule just for funsies, don't really know atp

I need to read more about Damian and Flatline (AKA Nika) but from what I've seen so far they are. ADORABLE. Like so freaking cute I can't stand it

And for Peter: Ned.

A lot of people have looked at me strange for this one, but I thought it would be fun to explore that dynamic. I know Ned isn't MJ, or Harry, or whatever other ship people like, but I think they're cute. Some people stopped reading because of it, but I don't want to go back on it... So I don't think I will. I understand where most come from, it's not their cup of tea, but others were just plain nasty and I had to delete their comments on the fic itself, tiktok, etc.

Right now, they're best friends!! Ned is definitely aware he has a crush and is ignoring it, but Peter has no idea. That's 'cause they're both younger in this fic and I think right now they have more important things to worry about than Love. It's more of a puppy crush thing right now, more subtext than plain text.

But later on in the story, it's going to be explored. I may or may not write them becoming a couple or putting a label on it, but it will be talked about. It really depends on where the story goes. But I am of the belief that romantic love isn't the only type of love that can be written about, and at the end of the day, LoF is about the various forms of love and grief.

I think a good way to term Peter is biromantic asexual? I'm not too sure about the terminology here, so take that with a grain of salt. I'm pretty sure bisexuality is on the ace spectrum? Like he's still 14 and he's got a lot of time to figure that out. In my head that's just how it is.

I hope to have a lot of representation in LoF! There's a lot to explore and being apart of the community, I know how important it is. And I hope I don't actually have to moderate my comments because of it, that would suck
