Thinking about Gaz trying to hit on insecure!reader at the bar, but he's oblivious to the fact that she's self-conscious until he starts talking to her. And for the first time in his life, he gets turned down...and he's never been more attracted to anyone in his life.
Maybe you were all on your own bc your friends abandoned you, or maybe you showed up on your own in an attempt to be flirted with. But once you got there you felt too insecure to look anyone in the eye, so you've kept your gaze locked on your drink since you arrived.
Maybe Gaz sees you - a pretty bird - all on your own and looking sad. It doesn't even cross his mind that you could be insecure, after all, you're gorgous. But you've never seen yourself that way.
So when he finally works up the courage and gets a bit of encouragement from his team, he slinks up next to you and turns on the charm, like he always does with women.
But it doesn't work out like he planned.
There's no blushing smiles and bashful giggles coming from you. Only a blank, surprised stare and tensed muscles. You even look around like you think he's talking to someone else.
I mean, he couldn't possibly be hitting on you, right? It must be some kind of joke, or prank, or...something. Someone that handsome would not be interested in someone like you. And your concerns are only confirmed when he glances over his shoulder and gets a thumbs-up and a wide, toothy grin from some idiot with a mohawk.
He thinks maybe he's just making you nervous, but when you flinch when he calls you 'beautiful', he knows he's done something wrong. He just doesn't know what.
Of course, it's not his fault. He doesn't know how many times you've been asked out as a joke...or a prank...or a dare. Nobody's ever made a genuine effort to be with you. And he's struck a chord in you hard enough to make you have to swallow against the lump forming in your throat.
"You think it's funny to go up to random girls and make fun of them?" Your trembling voice speaks up as you cling to your drink, trying to seem tough even as the tears build in your eyes.
"Make fun-?" He doesn't even get to finish voicing his confusion before you're standing up, staring down at his brown, puppy-dog eyes with the firmest glare you can muster despite your tears.
"You might be this...this handsome guy, but that doesn't mean you can be mean!" You stutter out as you gather up your purse clumsily, like you're desperate to get away from him...which you are...even if he is the hottest man who has ever talked to you.
"Love, I wasn't making fun of you-" He desperately tries to salvage the situation as he watches in horror as your tears begin to roll down your cheeks, but you quickly snap back. "Oh, save it! You...you asshole!" You seem to hesitate for a moment before you grip your drink tightly and splash it into his face, but he can tell by the immediate guilt lacing your features that you regret your choice.
Before either of you can say anything else, you gather your purse and practically sprint to the exit. But in your hurry, you don't realize you've left behind your wallet - which Gaz picks up once he's broken himself out of the shock you've left him in.
He returns to his table - slightly dazed and dripping with strawberry daquiri as he stares down at your I.D., completely lost in thought as he studies the small picture of your face smiling sweetly at the camera. It looks nothing like the gorgeous woman he saw sitting at the bar - you looked...different, on your license. Not ugly, per se, but you were certainly more awkward when that picture was taken. You just hadn't come into yourself quite yet, and he can already picture how people must've been treating you when you looked like that. And it finally clicks for him.
You genuinely thought he was just teasing you, like you've probably always been teased. But this time, you had enough confidence in yourself to at least tell him to fuck off, even if you did it with tears in your eyes.
Ghost's voice breaks through the barrier first, with a gruff "fuck was tha' about?"
"Aye, what'd ye say to tha poor lass?" Soap's concern quickly follows, his head craning to look out the window as he watches you scurry down the dark street with tears in your eyes. "Couldnae be good from tha' look on her bonnie face."
Their words barely register in Gaz's mind, especially when he's too focused on the way his heart is pounding against his ribs as he tears his eyes away from your picture. "I think I just met the love of my life."
"What?"

soap! unprompted would always compliment you. its assurance, sure, but he genuinely loves your body.
soap! will always steal glances at your hips, waist, arms and hands. he would love physical affection in anyway. cuddling, or always having a hand on you gently. (it happens so often that he doesn't even notice he's doing it)
soap! is speaking to someone but his fingers are gently rubbing formless circles on your thigh or brushing his knuckles against your soft hands as if he wants to hold it.
price! would love your thighs. to feel them warming his ears and over his shoulders, his face nestled in your heat and savoring you with his tongue.
price! doesn't let you try to squirm away or try to hide if your shy. his hands are always on your hips and sides, skimming up under your shirt to feel your stomach.
the taskforce men who especially love to trace the stretchmarks on your skin. fingertips gently marveling at how soft the skin is.
ghost! just picking you up like nothing despite your worried protests. his hands sliding under your thighs and ass to hoist you up onto a counter to kiss you and smother your mumbles.
ghost! likes when you wear what you like. he might not say much when he first catches you wearing a shirt that's not baggy and actually fits you well. his brown eyes always linger a bit too long in their usual 'nonchalant' manner before they soften, like he's smiling under his mask.
gaz! this man would love sleeping with you. you are the warmest damned thing he's ever held and it shouldn't surprise you when you wake up the morning to have him practically laying on you. his head on your chest or stomach, arms on either side of you and body between your legs.
gaz! has boundless patience and time solely for you when you're having a really bad day. crying and so unsure about your body and how you look. anything you need, he'll get it for you. sitting with you, tucking a blanket around both of your laps and letting your head rest on his chest until your mind is off of it. whisper assurances that you're perfect into your temple... but most importantly, just hold you close.
(with love from @lady-boketto) ghost! sending you a video of him bench pressing your weight when you try to worry about him carrying you all the time.

I got a skirt a while ago and felt inspired to write smt for it 🫶🫶 I just KNOW Gaz is the biggest hype man
Fluff, gn reader
You sit impatiently on the couch waiting for your boyfriend to arrive. It's been almost three weeks since you'd seen him last, and you have something to show him.
Your hands play with the bottom of the skirt you bought recently. It sits in your lap, unworn and fresh out of the dryer. It's been years since you last wore something traditionally feminine, unless you count the crop tops you had hidden away in your closet. You can't deny the anxiety creeping into the corners of your mind. For the past few weeks, butterflies have made a home in your stomach.
What if you don't look good in it? What if you don't like it?
What if Kyle doesn't like it?
Your whirlwind of anxious thoughts is interrupted by the opening of the front door.
Kyle steps in, a long sigh escaping him. He lets his bag hit the floor, relief flooding his body at the sight of your shared home. There's nothing in the world that he'd rather do right now than be here, home, with you.
"Love? I'm home," he calls out into the house. Unsurprisingly, you come bounding out of the living room to leap into his arms, the skirt left abandoned on the couch for the moment.
His strong arms wrap around your torso as he buries his face into your neck. "Feels good to be back. Missed you," he mumbles into your skin as you plant gentle kisses on his cheek.
The two of you stand like that for what feels like hours. Eventually you pull back, softly cupping his face in your hands as you look into his eyes. The adoring and lovesick look that he gives you is enough to make your face warm up. You decide now is as good a time as ever to mention the skirt that you'd left waiting on the couch.
You plant a soft kiss to his lips, your head suddenly feeling light as the anxiety kicks back in. "Ky? You remember how I mentioned that I wanted to start wearing more feminine clothing?"
He hums in acknowledgment, raising an eyebrow at your sudden change in demeanor. You let go of him for a moment to retrieve the skirt from the couch.
"Well, while you were away," you hold up the skirt for him to see "I might have bought a little something?" You grin nervously at him, waiting for some kind of rejection, or for him to tell you that you shouldn't wear it.
Instead, his face lights up. "Dove, that's- it's gorgeous," he gawks at it.
"Well? You should put it on! Give me a show, doll." he grins at you, planting a kiss to your forehead as he ushers you to the bathroom to try it on.
In the bathroom, you take a minute to admire it as you put it on. It's simple, yet still eye-catching. A plain black skirt that goes halfway down your thighs once it's fully on.
You step out of the bathroom and shyly walk over to Kyle. He whistles at you, beaming like a little kid who was just given candy.
"Well, well, well, who is this? Didn't know we had such a smokeshow in the house." He grabs your hand and lifts it, twirling you around once. You preen under his gaze, and you can't help but giggle at his antics. Why were you ever so nervous?
"I take it you're a fan?" You playfully tease.
"The biggest. The real question is, do you like it?" He asks, moving his hands to hold you by the waist.
You think about it for a minute, then nod.
"Good. Hope to see you in it more often," he whispers in your ear. He starts showering your face in kisses, running his hands down the length of your skirt. You fake your annoyance as you swat Kyle's hands away from the bottom of your skirt.
"Quit it," you scold him, your voice full of affection. You can't help the way your heart soars when he engulfs you in his arms, still staring at you with boyish adoration.
Needless to say, you both loved the skirt.

this is a weird ask, you can ignore this if you are uncomfortable of course, but could you write simon or really anyone from tf141 x a reader who doesnt have a stereotypical “pretty pussy” or “pornstar pussy” and is insecure about it?
hi! I don’t think this is a weird question at all!! I think most people don’t have a ‘porn star’ pussy, it’s quite literally their job to have a pretty pussy lmao! But I digress
Next (for Price, Johnny, & Gaz)
Tumblr media
Simon would be the most understanding about an insecurity like this. He’s covered in scars and burns, wears a balaclava, doesn’t like pictures, hides most of himself behind clothing and being aloof. He might be a little self-conscious himself, probably doesn’t think he’s all that conventionally handsome with all the cuts and gashes melded into his face, the leathery texture of his burn scars.
Maybe there was a time when he did think he was handsome, but that was when he was younger, before everything happened to him.
But now? He gets nervous taking his shirt off in intimate settings, keeps the balaclava on most of the time to keep himself covered, and you don’t push him.
Instead, you try your best to make him understand that his worth is more than the blemishes and scars that adorn his body— that he is more than his appearance.
Simon is a little shocked when he finds out the real reason you keep avoiding sex with him, especially since you’re so kind to him, treat him like he hung the moon and the stars despite how he looks. Quite surprised when it seems you do everything in your power to make him feel comfortable and confident.
Maybe you have a full bush that you can’t keep tamed, hyperpigmentation around your thighs and vulva, or your labia minora hangs a little lower than your labia majora.
Why the fuck would he care about any of that?
He doesn’t.
You’re beautiful to him in every aspect, graceful, ethereal; the most heavenly person he’s ever laid eyes on, and there’s nothing you could possibly say or do to change that.
Tumblr media
Anxiety stung your chest, digging indents into Simon’s shoulders to hide the fact that your fingers were trembling lightly, to ground yourself from the fact that his fingers were curled under your skirt. Pressed right up against the top of your leg, thumb snug on the inside of your thigh, within a breathes inch of your pussy.
You had clamped them shut as soon as he began to brush soft strokes against it; he thought you were just sensitive, but you were doing everything in your power to stop him dead in his tracks, keep his thumb as far from your pussy as possible. But he was stronger than you, and he slipped past your thigh muscle easily, found your pussy just as soon as it left.
It felt good, god, did it feel good, but your stomach swooped low, and not in the good way. Your hand instantly flew to his wrist, pushing him away as best you could, chest tightening at the sound he made, guilt burning your eyes.
“What’s wrong, love?” He asked against your lips, “You push me away every time, you don’t want this?”
You swallowed over the lump in your throat, diverting your eyes from his, “I don’t exactly have a pretty pussy.”
He snorted a laugh, “And mine ain’t exactly a Van Gogh either.”
You chuckled lightly, but you kept your eyes fixated up, too embarrassed to look at him, “Just don’t make fun of it.”
“Oy,” He murmured, fingers finding your chin, dipping your head to meet his gaze. You gulped at the reverence in his eyes, the tender look he wore, “Why the hell would I ever make fun of you? None of that crap matters to me. You’re beautiful to me no matter what.”
So, that night you let him in, and when he peeled you back layer by layer with the expert curl of his fingers and deliciously smooth tongue, you were almost too dazed, too fucked out to hear him murmuring it’s praises.
“Not a pretty pussy?” He rasped, hot air on your cunt as he huffed a laugh, “Prettiest cunt I’ve ever fuckin’ seen.”

short continuation of older!reader x Price age gap tw : smut, mommy kink, PiV, overstimulation
When people think about dating someone older, they would probably imagine something elegant and old-school, a candle lit dinner or a simple picnic by the lake
What they didn't know is that, older people didn't beat around the bush and would jump in head first because they already knew so well what they wanted in a relationship thanks to their experience, there was barely any need to explore and experiment
John Price was ashamed to say that he was previously one of those people. Because, if only he knew about that, he wouldn't make such an embarrassing sound, wouldn't be surprised when you pushed him onto your bed before climbing on top of him
He remembered the flirting started fairly innocent. You cooed and thought that it was cute of him to be interested in an older woman like you. You leaned closer to him as you teased about the two decades age gap between you two, in which he replied that he didn't care. You were vibrant and beautiful, charming and kind, and still so full of life, he was attracted to you because of it and more
So.. he didn't expect your sweet self to change
"Oh baby.. so good for me, my pretty boy.." you purred as you rode his cock in a way that made his eyes rolled back in his head. He whimpered, still taken aback with your change of personality
You were oozing with confidence, being older had earned you the art of not giving a shit to any insecurities you had. And you showed him what being truly experienced was like
Now, John wouldn't call himself inexperienced, nor young, he knew this
But he was pretty confident himself
Maybe he wasn't as experienced. But he got strength and stamina
So when you stopped bouncing on top of him after another orgasm, he took over. While you laid your face on his hairy chest, his rough hands gripped your hips before he bucked his own as he forced you to keep moving
Using you like a mere cocksleeve
And you'd whine, clinging onto his shoulders as you drooled, too tired and overstimulated to keep up with his comparably youthful stamina and libido
"Come on mommy, i could still go on, didn't you say you wanted to teach me a thing or two about fucking properly?" His gruff voice sent a vibration down your spine, and you embarrassingly clenched as you came again-- so quick even though you said you had none in you left
Though, he didn't stop
"That's it mommy.. come on, one more?" He purred, smirking when he heard you sob. "Yeah.. give your pretty boy another"
You really should've thought twice if you thought you could handle a man at his prime like him
..
And if you two weren't too focused on each other, you'd be able to hear the front door slamming to a shut as Gaz had enough of these damn thin walls

ch11 something borrowed something blue (mafia!price x simon's sister!reader)
tw: a little piss bc reader is refused a toilet. some light torture scenes and violence.
masterlist | next
“Where. Is. She.” Ghost slams John against the wall, his forearm to John’s throat. The man’s snarling, an unrestrained beast in a mask. The world zeroes in on the gaze between them, the terrible acceptance that they have a shared weakness. A shared weakness who is gone, potentially dead. All they can do is beat the rotted carcass of this feeling until it breaks.
Thirty minutes earlier
For the past two hours, there’s been something vibrating under John’s skin. It was there when he pulled Gaz by his collar in the store, searching the man’s eyes for deceit. It was there when he eventually let him down, satisfied with the steel reflecting back at him. It was there when someone handed him his wife’s phone, the screen filled with unread text messages from him asking to get dinner and talk it all out. It followed him all the way to the Castle.
Gaz relocates them quickly, saying he has more devices back at home. John’s home, your home, your shared home. The whole car ride John’s knee shakes up and down, nervous energy permeating the air. All he does is replay your last conversation over and over.
“I am trapped, John.”
“No matter how I feel about you now, I didn’t pick this marriage.”
“I can’t even tell if you like me for me or my proximity.”
“I need to go to work before I say something I’ll regret.”
The words swarm through his head like wasps, picking at the insecurities he hides everyday. The worries that you wouldn’t pick him in a normal world, that this has been pillowtalk to pass the days. If you love something you’re supposed to let it go, but he can’t decide between being noble and hoarding you until you forget what life was like before captivity. And of course, all of these thoughts assume you’re alive. He hasn’t let himself consider the full possibility that Shepherd has hurt you in ways that would defile your mind and your body, never leaving you whole again. It all coalesces into an evil energy, vibrating under his skin as the London streets roll by outside the car.
Gaz leads John into the security room with words not meant for him. Murmurs to the house staff, directions ordered over ear pieces. They blur and buzz in John’s eardrums, these damn wasps becoming parasites. He’s too old to consider hunting you himself, knows that he has to trust his man, but the urge is there anyways. Thoughts of escalating into straight warfare, bombing Shepherd’s home without any care for the innocents within.
That’s what he’s thinking about when Ghost arrives, dragging in coattails of vengeance and dread.
Now
“Stand down, Ghost. This ain’t helpin’.” He croaks out against the pressure in his throat. Ghost’s eyes flare, soulless black pits that see too much. They search John’s, within and around, poking and prodding at the emotions he’s been holding in for the hour since he learned his wife is gone. Whatever Ghost finds is enough, John deemed worthy not to die by the loosening of Ghost’s grip. They pant as one, wishing they had never let themself love a woman enough to destroy their dynasties for her.
The world resumes as Ghost turns away. No one mentions the threat, the way John would have let the guilt drown him if Ghost didn’t. John should have pushed harder, should’ve accompanied you to the store instead of letting you go in his shirt with a faint goodbye on your lips. Like you knew what would happen and went anyway, just to see how far his heart could stretch until it tears.
MacTavish is murmuring low calming words to Ghost, unintelligible over the hum of computers and screens. In this room, all pretense is given up, one man’s hand stroking the other’s. To have a half of a soul live outside the body is a dangerous thing, even more when attacks come from all sides. If he squints, there’s a flash of your glare in Ghost’s, the same half-tilted frown hidden by the mask. It’s like you’re haunting him, no, taunting him with the fact that he’s lost you and now he has to deal with your ghost. It’s all his fault, but he lets the pity fester inside instead of releasing it on everyone else.
“Update, Garrick?” Another croak, a near two minutes after the incident. This is why Gaz is his heir - all he does is hand John the nearest iPad without a mention as to what happened. John reads the screen fast, a list of possible abandoned warehouses near Shepherd locations. It makes sense but the timing is all wrong. He’d expected this if things had been quiet, but there was another scrap between Price men and Shepherd men last night. This kidnapping must have been calculated by someone separate, someone like Phil with a solo mission. He should’ve killed the man when he found out he was working (almost) alone with his wife.
“It’ll be somewhere symbolic. Shepherd likes to make a statement.” Garrick mentions. John hands the tablet silently to Ghost, an offering of peace. In the corner of his eye, he can see MacTavish conferring with Mare, the head of the weapons team, speaking a language only the two of them know. The man frowns, then shakes his head at something Mare says. “Dinnae work like tha’.” It travels over the distance of the room, confusing John enough that he walks over to learn what’s happening.
“Report?” Mare is a bit skittish but cool-headed in times of need, the reason he hired the first ever woman on a Price Family leadership team. He trusts her and her chemistry degrees, plus her sense of urgency. “Sir, we’ve just received word that the weapons stores have been compromised.” It’s like a pin drop, other conversations falling silent as she speaks. “Meaning?” He asks, toeing the line of impatience. “Shepherd’s men struck last night, around the same time as the street fight. We believe it was coordinated between that and the kidnapping to hide it as long as possible. They cut the WiFi, so we only found out during the shift change. All the guards were killed and the weapons taken.”
John prides himself on acting like a real corporate boss, restrained and professional. However, this is his last fucking straw. “You’re saying Shepherd took my fucking weapons, then my fucking wife? How the hell does this happen?” Ghost grunts at the word ‘wife’ but John ignores it, too focused on the situation at hand. Instead of answering, Mare’s eyes flit around the room. Since it was converted from two bedrooms, it fits up to thirty people and is currently at capacity. He can read his employee too well, and knows she’s nervous about the many ears around. While he usually trusts his people with his life, it’s been an odd day and he decides to err on the side of caution.
“Mare an’ everyone related t’ me, this way.” There’s an elevator to the upper floor in the back of the room. Ghost and MacTavish fall in line, but Garrick seems frozen and unsure. “Gaz, that includes you.” They don’t acknowledge the head nod, brushing elbows as John hits the elevator button. Once all five are in, John hits the emergency stop between floors, leaving them in purgatory. “Speak.” He instructs Mare.
“There’s a mole. It’s the only way they could have gotten in. I designed that facility myself, sir, and there’s no way they could have gotten in with the tools and soldiers they have. Unless our intel was wrong, and I don’t think it was, we have a rat.” Her words echo in the metal chamber. She meets MacTavish’s eyes and he nods in confirmation.
“Price.” Ghost grunts, his first words in a while. “It’s someone in that room. They’d hav’ to be on yer security.” John nods at his words and turns to Gaz. “How much longer to narrow down locations?” The man still seems flustered by John’s earlier words and needs a nudge to the shin to spit it out. “An hour, tops. We’re thinking of an abandoned weapons facility or church. Something about what he stole, weapons or marriage.” John grunts at the symbolism of it all. “I’m the first one there.” He demands. “Sir, I-” John turns to look his second in the eye. “I’m the first there.” Gaz nods. John turns back to Ghost and MacTavish, staring at him with twin glares of violence.
“Right, men. We got a rat t’ catch.”
-
“You don’t know what I’d do to find ya and keep ya.”
John’s words echo through your mind as you eye Phil, standing in the corner with a water bottle. You haven’t peed since this morning, 12 hours ago, and he knows. Taunting words sung with a Southern accent, promising a toilet in return for the weapon codes. He’s banking on your embarrassment, that you won’t want to piss yourself in this hellhole. Too bad for him you don’t like to listen to what men tell you to do.
“C’mon, sugar. Know ya got t’ go. Give me the codes an’ I got a nice lil’ bathroom for you. Even has one of those bidets.” You shake your head, refusing. Your bladder is pushing against your stomach, tension growing with every breath. It wouldn’t be too bad if he hadn’t kept feeding you water. You think you’re on bottle six now, what seemed like a blessing turned into a curse.
“Fine. Time f’ another one.” He unscrews and steps to your side, checking your handcuffs before coming near your mouth. It’s like he’s under orders not to hurt you physically. There’s been no beatings, no threat of knives or guns. He needs you alive, and you’re pretty sure you know why. The weapons require both a code and an eye scan, something you can’t fake with a dead body. Johnny created the code section and Gaz added the eye scan later, his coding skills a thing of beauty. His quick thinking is the only thing keeping you alive.
Water pours down your throat. He presses down your tongue to force you to swallow every last drop. When he leans over you, it’s like rose-colored glasses have been removed. His blond hair is limp, face sweaty with concentration. Gone is the charming assistant, bright and fun. You bet he needs you to stay alive for his own safety, his life relying on it.
As water slips into your belly, the pressure to pee goes stronger. With a dirty hand, he pushes on your stomach, and you whine in discomfort. He shouldn’t be touching you, especially in a place so sensitive. The loss of body autonomy is your biggest fear, whether it be motherhood or this. Only John would understand, you think, berating yourself for being so stupidly stubborn. That’s when you make up your mind, to still have control over the one thing you can.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck. You’re fuckin’ disgusting, you dirty bitch.” The piss soaks your jeans and, with enough force, dribbles on his shoe. Phil jumps away in disgust, eyes hardened into flint as he glares at you. “Fuck you.” You spit out. A glob of it lands near his shoe, making him jump again. You almost pity how weak he is enough to torture a woman for a living. Almost.
“You’re gonna be sorry you did that.” He bites back. Phil glances at the mirror and for the first time in hours, you let yourself feel a lick of fear. You’re pretty sure you know who his boss is, someone too violent for the games you’re playing. “You’re pathetic, you know that?” Is what you can muster. Instead of answering, he shakes off his shoe and knocks on the door. When it opens, there’s a person in full PPE, holding a metal tray with a filled syringe. You jolt back, but the chair is bolted to the ground and doesn’t allow you to move.
“Wait, please, Phil-” He’s fast, shooting something into your arm. Everything goes dark after that.
-
Gaz was right. It only took an hour.
But it takes longer than that to rule out each location. It’s been 24 hours, and they haven’t found you yet.
John insists on checking out every place by himself, as does Ghost. They’re even-keeled enough to split up to make it go faster but insist on Gaz scrounging up more earpieces so they can keep in constant contact. They slept in shifts too, six-hour blocks once it hit midnight, so they weren’t trudging through their search. Johnny stays back to work with the engineers on testing the security system he designed, while Gaz comes along with whoever is searching. The four of them stay on their own radio channel like a task force, acting more military than mafia.
They start from the inner city and expand outwards. It’s methodical. It’s calculated. It’s the exact strategy Gaz planned months ago when the marriage was proposed. He’s the clearest headed out of all of them but there’s still a bite to his tone, a tension in his shoulders, a furrow in his brow. If John wasn’t so out of it himself, he’d be glad that his right-hand man seems to care for his wife.
They sweep warehouses top to bottom. John tugs on every alliance he has, every favor owed. They get pledges of loyalty from smaller gangs, who do their own searches as well. It’s so much and yet not enough because John Price does not have his fucking wife in his hands. Your shampoo scent is not in his nose, your laughter is not in his ears, your waist is not in his grasp. You are gone and he is at fault for not protecting you.
“Focus, Price.” They’ve both slept and are now in their third church in the past 90 minutes. It’s abandoned like the rest of them, creaking doors and blown out windows. They’ve gotten into a rhythm now, sweeping the building efficiently. You’re not there. They finish in twenty minutes, Gaz outside on the phone with the rest of the crew. When they emerge, he stands tall at attention.
“Sir, we’ve got a hit.”
-
“How you feeling, hun?” The world is woozy, half-tilt on a rollercoaster. You sway from right to left, only steadying when firm hands grasp your shoulders. Your eyes flutter, vision blurring in technicolor. You’re somewhere else, with paintings on the walls and carpet on the floors. That’s when you do a body scan and realize you’re not in the clothes you were kidnapped in.
You jerk away from the man touching you. The wooden chair you’re strapped to falls to the floor and takes you with it. He tries to pick you up, moving in a blur of dark grey, but you thrash away like a fish out of water. His touch is poison, and you fear it was him who undressed you, him who saw you naked against your will. “Get away from me!” You screech, vocal cords sore from disuse. The man’s hands are gnarled crooked things, clawing at your shoulders until your chair is straight again. You try to flinch but your miniscule reactions are still slurry from whatever you were injected with. Once you’re straight, you bite back a gasp.
It’s him. The General. Shepherd.
Square face with a buzzcut. Weathered and old with a cruel gleam in his eye. He sits back down into a chair in front of yours. This one is red leather, squeaking comfortably with weight as he sits down. The man was in the army in a past life, hence the styling of The General. He wears dark slacks and an army-like jacket. The bravado of it disgusts you. A title like that should be earned, not worn like play clothes. You put on your brave face and sneer at him, a cat backed into an alley.
“I see why John likes you.” He looks you up and down like he can see through your clothes. You flinch against your will. “You don’t deserve to say his name.” You bite. He laughs jarringly. “Fucking brat is what you are. Even got Phil under your spell.” That’s news to you. It’s certainly at odds with his behavior. You don’t react, easing your features into a smooth mask.
“I don’t know why I’m here. I don’t have the codes.” He stares at you dead-eyed. “Not necessary. We don’t need the codes.” He’s bluffing. You’re willing to bet your life on the hard work of Johnny and Gaz. There’s absolutely no way, no workaround. That’s when you get an idea.
“Oh yeah? You’re just going to put me in front of the eye scanner and go from there?” He frowns like you’ve figured out his plan. You almost laugh. “Too bad. You’re still missing a step.” That reels him in. Shepherd sits forward, elbows on his knees, searching your gaze for a lie. You raise your brows defiantly. “What, don’t tell me you haven’t figured it out?” He squints harder at your words.
“My brother’s old school. Doesn’t trust technology, or anybody else.” It’s certainly true. Simon’s well-known for not trusting people. Even the General looks intrigued. “What are you sayin’?” He murmurs. It’s like you’re holding a prophecy in his hands. Men are so easy.
“There’s a key.” He scoffs and looks away. “And I’m Robin Hood.” You shrug, leaning back as much as you can into your chair despite the ropes tying you to it. “Believe what you want. I’m just saying, my brother has more checks than you can imagine.” Another truth to reel him in. He scratches an invisible itch on his knee, then gets up. He pulls something from his pocket, and you flinch, thinking it’s a gun. He laughs at your reaction. “Fucking brat.” He murmurs. Shepherd turns to the corner of the room and calls someone, talking in low tones.
When you examine the room, it sends a shot to your heart. You’re in a church. There’s blood red carpeting with paintings everywhere, but it’s not wellkept. There’s dust and no windows, the lighting frail. Perhaps recently abandoned?
Shepherd is back, knife in hand. He thrives on watching you flinch and thrash as he comes closer. You stop when he’s in your face, knife trailing down the length of your nose. “Where’s the key?” You answer without hesitation. “My father’s grave.” It’s the kind of sick shit Ghost would do, and Shepherd knows it. That’s when the knife slips through your ropes, freeing you. There’s a gun in his other hand pointed straight at your head. “You’ll take me to the key. And if it’s not there, so help me God, I’m blowing your brains out on your father’s grave.” You nod, short and shallow.
It’s only halfway up the dilapidated wooden stairs when you hear it. Pounding footsteps and a low British tone. Shepherd was stupid enough to trail behind you, and even stupider to stop at the noises as well. That’s when your years of self-defense classes with Johnny kick in, quite literally.
You aim a kick to his head. He dodges, of course, but all that body mass has to go somewhere, and quite slowly. It knocks him off balance, a half-step down, giving you enough leverage to elbow the nose. One of the most sensitive places on a man, as Johnny told you. The door above you opens as Shepherd gets one more insult in as he goes down.
“Fuckin’ bastard.”

stitches [simon ‘ghost’ riley]
Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley x reader/you
Tumblr media
Hopefully this doesn’t suck and makes sense for the most part. Thanks for anybody that reads this 🥰
WARNINGS: smut, descriptions of injury, body insecurity… a bit of plus size!reader
When you joined the Special Forces, you didn’t want to form attachments.
That was the only rule you held yourself to.
As a medic back at base, you thought it would be easy. Alas, fate had other plans in the form of Task Force 141.
Lead by Captain John Price- who had handpicked you for medical support- to stay back at whatever base looked like- whether it be a van or a safe house.
With that, you lived with the boys. John Price, Kyle Garrick, Johnny MacTavish and Simon Riley. You kept yourself to yourself at first, not confident among four SAS soldiers nor in yourself. Knowing of them only.
So you planned to stay huddled in the corner and quiet.
Then in the middle of the night, you came face to face with a black balaclava and a gruff voice, “Ya good?” You only remember the nightmares… more so flashbacks. They were relentless- creeping in the recesses of your mind, waiting for times when stress peaked. Unfortunately this entire ordeal was nerve-wracking.
You only noticed the warm hand on your shoulder, instinct led you to stare past the noir covering the majority of his face and into his eyes. Caring eyes.
He had no need to check if you were okay, he didn’t know you but, nevertheless, it was nice to see the lieutenant as something other than a looming figure.
The seriousness became too much to bear for you, “Do you sleep in that thing?” Using humour to take the edge off- well trying to.
“Soundly,” Earthy, rugged… British yourself, he sounded awfully English. That was when your eyes dawned on the clock- the time more specifically. 02:01.
“Do you sleep at all?” Another attempt but he didn’t laugh- your smile faded, maybe a tad intimated. He wasn’t exactly small.
He stood away, no longer crouching at your bedside. How tall was the guy? You tried to hide the wonder on your face, “Better than you… when I do get a kip…” Some pain in those words. “Better get some shut eye, Y/L/N… see ya at dawn.” You slept better knowing at least someone in 141 had your back.
After that you started integrating more with the lads. You learned that Johnny could clean his messes up exceptionally well, and that’s why he was called ‘Soap’. Price still thought the name was bullcrap but alas, not your problem.
You also noticed that Ghost never showed his face. Black face paint shrouding the skin showing around his dark eyes or his sunglasses. You preferred the face paint.
He had a habit of watching you from across the room chatting with Soap and Gaz- you blocked any possible avenues of relationships. Not that they’d be interested in you (your own thoughts). You didn’t find yourself attractive or good enough. A bit too much weight, you continued to think.
It was a good thing, you couldn’t get distracted.
That was until that day…
Supply checks… stock up on the sterilised needle and stitch thread. You barely had any use to 141, just a glorified nurse who had no business being given a code name.
“Stitches! It’s LT!” The brash Scotsman bolstered his comrade over to the gurney in the impromptu medical van. Blue eyes flashed over into yours, hulking the larger man to lay on his back.
Ghost wasn’t having any of it, attempting to sit up only for more blood to gush from his thigh. You rushed into action, “Soap, get us out of here,” said all too calmly for someone under such pressure. The man did as he was told and they were off. Meanwhile, you had pushed the lieutenant down on the bed. He grunted in pain each time he made a move, “For fuck’s sake, stay still so I can fucking see.” Blue gloves on, as he stopped wriggling, “Thank you.” You were still unimpressed but at least he listened. Unbeknownst to you under the mask he donned a pained smirk- unaware you could be so commandeering. Almost proud of you.
A grunt paused his pride, “Fuck…” Through gritted teeth. Your fingers working the tweezers with expert precision.
He went to sit up, your left hand pressed against his sturdy chest- pushing him down, “Want me to snag your femoral artery, Ghost?” In no time, a red-coated bullet laid in the metal tray and he sat there in his boxer shorts- watching you work and hitching a breath each time the needle breached skin.
They were the gentlest hands that had ever worked on him. “What happened?” Eyes boring into his as you cast off the stitch.
“Someone got the jump on me, should see ‘im,” you smiled at that, able to tell he was too. By his eyes.
The ones you dreamt of every night- except when the terrors returned. Johnny was too heavy of a sleeper to hear you, but Simon’s eyes were what you woke up to. In the flesh. He never asked what they were about, just comforted you.
When your deployment ended, and you returned home… you missed the guys. And his warm eyes whenever you returned to the land of the living.
Johnny contacted you. A pub crawl in Scotland, apparently Gaz, Price and even Simon were game.
Turns out you and Ghost didn’t live too far away. In ten minutes, a knock at your door and you met that deep gaze. “Johnny only just message ya, didn’t he?” He shook his head in disbelief. “I’m drivin’ us, don’t trust Gaz’s deathtrap…”
“Well… I just need to grab my stuff,” He started to walk away up the path to his 4x4. “You can come in and wait if you wanted?” Who was he to turn you down when you asked so nicely.
He helped you with your bags, “You sure ya gonna get through with that?”
“Haha,” dry humour, there was a reason you seemed to get on, “And if you want me to get more shit…”
You could see a glint in his eyes, “Nah, you’re alright, love…” That went straight down to between your thighs, the look on your face amused the man.
Surprisingly, the two of you weren’t awkward. Quiet here and there.
You assumed he wasn’t used to social interaction in general- especially wearing that balaclava, not good for conversation.
Simon was good to talk to, all waffled speech was redacted with him. Straight forward, sometimes sarcastic and wholly looking for banter- that’s what you preferred.
And there was no chance he would be interested in you. He has the aura of a guy who gets the attention of stunning women. Why would he want you? (You thought)
It was never going to happen.
By the end of that car ride, he learned about your messy string of exes and he had way too much Shania Twain on his playlist (and knew all of the words).
Johnny greeted you both with open arms, a tight hug for you, “You been ta’ing care of yourself, Stitches?”
“Better than you look, use more soap…” The laughs and hug came to an abrupt end- his stare directed over to Simon who loomed behind you. Was it just you, or did Johnny look scared?
“Let me show y’ where you’ll be sleepin’…”You went to grab your bags but Ghost already had it covered.
Poor you, you didn’t know what would await your stay at Johnny MacTavish’s.
The tip was a stretch, your head thrown back against the blanket pillow. Silent screams playing in your throat. He could feel the struggle and see the pleasure striking your visage. Murmurs of his name, “Si- Simon -!” Broken and whimpering. He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t on the edge of losing his cool. You were pulsing around him so angelic.
“You’re takin’ me so well, lovie,” His hips took a full stroke, bracing your cervix. Thrumming and dripping wet. Another groan of his name.
The rhythm sank in, strangled moans trapped- your breathing wild against his ear. His thrusts swinging all the way back until they gutted you. Over and over. “Feels. So. GOOD -!” His hand covering your mouth, noting that the owner of the house was just next door and the other two at the end of the hall. Simon’s place supposed to be on the couch downstairs surrounded by Soap’s army memorabilia. Not right there, balls deep inside of you. Loving every second.
Cherishing every inch of you, kissing you in the moment to stay quiet so he could remain there for a while longer. So he may get some sleep, for the first time in a week.
Before you know it, his hand anchored around your ankles- spreading them to hook better. You’ve never moaned so loud in your life. Even echoing off the walls of the room. “Fuck it…” He was too far gone to care what the boys heard or thought. He had been thinking about that moment since he met you, looking so delectable with his cock hammering into you. Taking him so well.
You didn’t know if he would ever tire out, another rush of adrenaline and exhaustion swept over your limp body- numb to anything other than where his thighs slammed against your own and how raw you were going to in the morning.
Your legs fell, his grip focused at your jaw; leaning over- rubbing against sensitivity deep- and claiming your lips in a ravenous kiss that had your head spinning more than before.
Hands falling to your hips, thrusts sloppy as you tightened once again. “Where can I- ,” Drunk on how he tasted, your legs locked around his body.
“Inside,” Your hand found the base of his hair at Simon’s neck, holding on for dear life. Warmth spread downwards as your nails dug into his toned back and neck alike. A thick groan filled the air- enough to become addicted.
Neither of you panted, thriving in the silence. He savoured being hilted inside you, careful not to crush you beneath him. Hot breath spanning your collarbone. “Can’t tell ya how long I’ve wan’ed to do that…”
You felt so small against him, so yearned for. No face covering on his end, no boundaries. Laid bare to him and he wanted you anyway.
Fingers stroked at his thick hair, “Same, Si…”
Neither of you knew who fell victim to slumber first.
The morning came around, the boys had looked proud of themselves… too proud, too giddy. Especially Johnny.
“I think the gutters need check’ng, heard some weird noise last nigh’,” You’ve never threatened Johnny’s mohawk before but that day you grew close.
Price even had a glint of mischief in those clear eyes of his, “Vampires common in Scotland?” You didn’t check your neck, too caught up in the heat the previous night.
Gaz had a smirk on his face, “Not from what I know of, sir…”
Christ, you were never gonna hear the end of it.

Tumblr media
Chapter 9: Drinks?
The moment the helo touched down, the soldiers descended, each of them parting ways as they went about their regular business, returning their gear to the armory, debriefing, showering, eating…
Almost a whole hour after their arrival, Simon threw himself down onto his bed, his skin dewy from the shower, his hair combed to the front and dripping over his face.
He popped open the top drawer of his nightstand and fished out his phone and charger. He set the charger up and turned on the phone as it charged up.
Simon didn’t often use his iPhone. Sometimes he forgot he even had it. The only times he did was to check Soap’s and Gaz’s insta/snap stories (because he liked being up to date on what they were doing) and when they were all on leave and had parted ways, so he could check the groupchat.
Once the phone turned on, he immediately beelined for Tinder and opened the app. The app lagged a bit at first but, open loading up, he saw it.
99+ likes, 99+ messages.
The big majority of them were girls, too young for him, thirsting for him, even with his face being hidden. He always knew he could attract people, so it didn’t exactly surprise him.
Rolling his eyes, he flicked his finger over the screen until he found your chat and clicked on it.
Simon: I’m back and in one piece. Simon: I think you need to wish me luck more often.
He didn’t expect you to answer him immediately, even if it was only 6 P.M. on a Tuesday and you’d likely be at home and free, considering the job you listed on your profile.
However, the Read notification popped up under his text almost immediately and your dm came right after without the app even announcing you were typing.
you: omg i was literally JUST checking to see if you had said anything you: welcome back!
The text made a smirk take over his scarred lips before he bit the bottom one and typed out a reply.
Simon: Have you been waiting to hear from me for 3 weeks? you: noooo Simon: That’s frankly adorable. Simon: Didn’t think I’d have gotten in your head that strongly. you: oh piss off simon. you: ur not that great. Simon: You’re still texting me. you: sooo???? Simon: So, I can’t be that terrible. Simon: Got your attention, didn’t I? you: oh piss off you: ur so cocky and for what Simon: Not cocky. Just sure of myself. you: no Simon. No? you: no 😤 Simon: Okay then. Simon: Suddenly not sure of myself because you deemed it so. Simon: I’m very insecure now. Simon: Is that better? you: stop being such a bloody smartass 🙄🙄🙄 Simon: You’re breaking my heart, sweetheart. Simon: I can’t take this. Simon: Going to go hug my pillow and cry some more. you: oh no you: i’m making the giant cry? 😱 Simon: Is that a dig at my height? you: YES Simon: My God, I’m going to cry even more. Simon: I’m being bullied. you: good!!! 😤 Simon: I’m making you pay for my therapy. you: pay for it yourself!!!! 🙄 Simon: How about I pay for dinner for the two of us one of these days instead?
You didn’t answer immediately after that. You always did that whenever he flirted with you and spoke about taking you out.
Simon had a shit-eating grin on his face, imagining that you were all annoyed at him behind the screen. He was right in guessing you were shy about going out, he assumed.
you: no. you: but you can buy me a drink tonight.
His jaw dropped and his eyebrows raised just a bit.
Simon: It’s a Tuesday night, are you sure? Simon: You know going out for drinks on a Tuesday is usually a sign of alcoholism? you: ur backing out now? you: wheres all that bravado of yours? Simon: Oh no, sweetheart. I’m not backing out, I’m asking if you’re sure. you: if i wasnt i wouldnt have invited you. Simon: Fair enough. Simon: Where? you: the same pub i met up with john at maybe? Simon: Rog. Simon: 30 minutes. you: i need longer to get ready. Simon: That’s fine. I’ll still be there in 30. you: are you going to be wearing the mask? Simon: 🤷‍♂️ you: SIMON you: YOU CAN’T BE PULLING OUT THE EMOJIS LIKE THIS you: YOU STARTLE ME EVERY TIME. Simon: Good. Simon: See you soon.
Setting the phone down on the mattress, Simon got up from bed and took off his towel, tossing it over the back of his desk chair before opening the top drawer of his tall dresser, grabbing a pair of black boxer briefs and putting them on.
Then, he rummaged through the other drawers looking for his one ‘going out shirt’™️ (which was actually a black long-sleeve compression shirt) which he put on along with a pair of dark jeans. It was a simple outfit.
Then he slipped on some black boots. He threw on a leather jacket over that and tucked a black neck gaiter into the neckline of the t-shirt, hiking it up to cover his mouth and nose.
Barely a minute later, he was making his way into Soap’s room and across the small space that separated him from the bathroom.
“Going somewhere, L.T.?” Soap probed from his spot at his desk, eyebrows raised and his eyes locked on the older man’s with intrigue. He rarely saw Ghost in civvies and even more rarely did he see him without a hoodie.
Unlike Ghost, Soap had made his officer’s quarters into his own living space, having brought in a gaming computer and chair, a small beanbag, and had plenty of knick-knacks around.
“Going out.” Ghost said simply as he grabbed Soap’s hair gel and squirted a glob of it into his hand before lathering them and using them to run through his blond locks which were exposed without the hoodie or signature balaclava.
“Out? On a date?” Soap asked Ghost as he quickly jogged up to the bathroom door, watching as Ghost fiddled with his hair.
“No. Just drinks.” Ghost replied as he tugged a bit as his hair to make it stand up straight.
“Is this someone you found on Tinder…?” Soap probed as he leaned his shoulder on the bathroom door, a boyish grin on his lips.
Ghost looked over at Soap out of the corner of his eye as he finished fiddling with his hair and rinsed his hands under ice cold water in the sink.
Soap took Ghost’s silence as an affirmative response. “Pro’lly a shag too, hm?” He joked, earning him another glance out of the corner of his eye. “Bloody hell, L.T. tell me all about it later, yea?” He laughed.
“Fuck no.” Ghost added as he grabbed one of Soap’s cologne bottles and raised it up for a sniff before scowling at the scent and setting it down again.
“Aw, c’mon L.T.!” He pleaded.
“Get your own date, MacTavish.” Then, he just made his way right out the door, forcing Soap to move out of the way, looking a bit like a wounded puppy.
“I’m not getting anything interesting on there!” Soap lamented with a sigh.
“No? Well, I’m sorry for you, then, Johnny.” Ghost quipped as he opened the door again and stepped out into the hall, leaving Soap behind.

pt. 2 of the well-loved gaz x insecure!reader post!! (This is kind of a bridge to pt. 3, so bear with me PLEASE! I have more ideas for the next part, but I needed to get there first lol...hopefully this is good idk im nervous abt my newfound audience)
[part 1, part 2, part 3]
The rest of his night passed in a daze. He couldn’t stop stealing glances at the tiny little picture on your license while Johnny and Simon argued with each other about what he should do to try to win you back - but he could barely hear a word they were saying as he wiped away the sticky-sweet drink that was still dripping down his face.
“Ah’d give her a second ta calm down, ya ken? Go in the mornin’ and give her a chance to find her head.”
“Showin' up at her place unannounced after hanging onto her shit all nigh'? Yeah, that’d leave a good impression, wouldn’ it? No wonder you can’t get a bird, Johnny. Scarin’ ‘em all off.”
“Ach, ye’d know what tha’s like, wouldn’ ye? Spooky fuckin’ bastard. Ah bet women run the second they see tha' stupid fuckin' mask-”
"Whatever. Gaz, just give it to the bartender, yeah? Clearly she doesn't like ya'. She'll come back for it."
In the end, he ends up taking Johnny’s advice and decides to return your wallet in the morning – which maybe wasn't his smartest move. Especially since now he doesn’t have a lick of alcohol flowing through his system to calm him down as he walks along the sidewalk towards your place. He’s sure he looks crazy to everyone he passes – muttering to himself to try to coach himself through what he’ll say to you.
“Hey! Nah, uh…hello, how are you? No, I- fuck…” He shakes his head as he looks down at your wallet, twiddling the zipper between his fingers as he mumbles under his breath. “Hi, I’m Kyle…I’m the one who, um…who made you...cry last night. Ah, shit.”
He's never felt this way about a girl before - like a nervous, stuttering schoolboy. His heart feels like it's going to beat out of his chest, and he can feel the sweat beading on the back of his neck when he suddenly finds himself standing in front of your door.
You've got a sweet little welcome mat - covered in sunflowers and loopy letters - and he notices all the pots filled with plants and flowers that scatter around near your door. God, he's already thinking that you're the most precious thing in the world.
He doesn't know what it is about you that's affecting him so much. Is it because you rejected him? Is it a challenge to him? Does he just feel guilty? Or maybe it's because, for the first time ever, he's gone after a girl that he actually has to figure out. Women have always thrown themselves at him the moment he flashed a smile their way. But you...all you did was throw a drink in his face.
It takes him nearly a full minute before he finally knocks on your door, and he can't seem to figure out what to do with his hands as he waits for the sound of your soft, thudding footsteps to reach the door.
You're still puffy from crying yourself to sleep last night, but you open the door with a polite smile anyway - donned in your oversized cat pajamas without an ounce of makeup on - but your smile quickly falls when you recognize the man standing on your doorstep.
The unfortunately beautiful man who had woken up every insecurity you had in less than a minute of talking to you.
Your expression seems to cycle through a million emotions as you try to comprehend how he could possibly be here, but once you notice the teal wallet clutched in his hand, realization settles on your features as the embarrassment hits you.
He stands silent for a moment as he takes in how gorgeous you are despite your slightly disheveled appearance, and he can barely form a sentence as he lifts up your wallet with a sheepish smile. "You, uh…you left this at the bar, um…last night. Got your address from your, uh...your I.D.” Christ, he's lost all sense of charisma hasn't he? He holds onto the wallet for a horrifyingly awkward amount of time as he stares blankly at you, but he finally comes to his senses when you mumble out a quiet 'oh, thanks' and reach out to take it.
“I’m Kyle, by the way.”
He's never seen a girl look at him with such guardedness before - with your arms crossed protectively over your chest as you give him a tense smile. He can't tell if it's because of the whole incident from the night before, or if you're just freaked out that a total stranger went through all the effort to bring your wallet directly to where you live.
Probably both.
You clearly return his greeting just to be polite, murmuring your name quietly as you place your wallet off to the side.
“Yeah. Yeah, I know.” He lets out an awkward laugh, but quickly backtracks when you shoot him a funny look. “I mean, from your license! I-It’s got your name on it. I only know it because it's...it's on the license.” He stutters out quickly as he shoves his hands into his pockets. God, he's losing it. His heart feels like it's going to explode. “I, um…it’s a gorgeous name, by the way. Suits you, you know?”
The compliment slips out naturally, but it only makes you tense up even more, and you suck in a tight breath as you begin to shift on your feet. Your fingers are itching to reach for the door to slam it in his face - arrogant prick thinking he can keep up his act from last night even though he practically sent you into a fit - but he interrupts your spiraling thoughts with a heavy sigh as he drops his charming smile.
“Hey, I...I just really wanted to say that I'm sorry, love. I didn’t mean to upset you like that last night.” His demeanor changes so drastically that you can't help but soften a bit, melting underneath his warm, pleading eyes enough to listen to him. "I think we had a bit of a misunderstanding...I wasn't making fun of you, love. Honest."
He seems so genuine about it that you can't help but feel a bit guilty. You had tossed and turned all night thinking about how shocked he had looked after your little outburst. You tried to stave of your regret by telling yourself that he had come over to you only to make fun of you like everyone else does, so technically he deserved it - but now you weren't so sure.
“Oh, well…I’m sorry for, you know…throwing my drink in your face.” You murmur sheepishly as you look down at your welcome mat - tracing one of the flowers with your fuzzy slipper before tilting your head back up to look at him with burning cheeks. “Wasn’t very mature of me."
“No, no, no...it's fine, really! If anything, I'm sorry you had to waste your drink on me. I mean, I know how pricey that place can get.” He lets out another laugh, but it's a bit less tense this time, especially when he sees the way your lips almost quirk up into a smile. It makes him feel bold enough to try to bring back the charm, and he can't stop himself from asking you, “You know…maybe I could, um…make it up to you sometime? Could buy you another drink?”
But once again, you pause. His persistence only makes you more suspicious of his motives, and it shows in how you tighten your arms across your chest. He can see your eyes flash with a pang of hurt, and he feels his heart clench as he fumbles over himself, growing less sure by the second. “O-Or just a coffee, maybe?”
“...Look, Kyle…” His heart leaps in his chest at the sound of his name on your lips, but your guarded tone is enough to smother the warm, fluttery feeling that had been building in his stomach. “Thanks for bringing me my wallet, but you’re wasting your time. I don’t know what kind of bet you have going with your friends, but I’m not going to fall for it, okay? I'm not...I'm not stupid.”
Stupid? His expression falls once more, and he gives you the most genuine look he can muster as he speaks up quietly. “I...I don't think you're stupid. There’s no bet, love. Honest.”
“A dare, then.”
“No dare, either.”
You let out a frustrated sigh and roll your eyes a bit before resting your hand on your hip, but your irritated demeanor doesn't hide the way your eyes are beginning to grow a bit watery and bloodshot as you murmur quietly. “Well, why are you doing this, then?”
His eyebrows furrow as he looks down on you, and he can't help but shake his head in disbelief as he takes a small step towards you. God, you were absolutely breaking his heart. Did you really think it was that unbelievable that he could like you? “I already told you, love. I think you’re absolutely gorgeous…and I know you don’t seem to like hearing that, but it’s true. And I know you're not just a pretty face, I just...I don't know anything else about you. But I'd like to...I'd like to get to know you.”
You don't seem moved by his words, but he can't see how your heart begins to pound wildly in your chest, grasping onto the small bit of hope that you had desperately tried to push down. You'd spent so long trying to protect yourself from feeling this way about someone, and he's already managing to sneak past those walls you had built up.
But your mind keeps replaying every moment of disappointment you felt when it came to men 'asking you out' - how people would laugh behind your back when you would get excited for a date with a guy they all knew was just messing with you, or how a boy in your class straight-up laughed in your face when you thought he was being serious about being his date to the prom. 'Shit, she actually fell for it! Damn, I didn't think she'd have the nerve to say yes! Ah, right, well...sorry love...just havin' a bit of a laugh, yeah? All in good fun.'
No, no, no...you couldn't fall for something like this again.
He can see the look in your eyes as you stay silent, and his heart pangs with guilt when he realizes how much he's probably torturing you. He decides to put you out of your misery, so before you can open your mouth to reject him again, he raises his hand to stop you. "Yeah, alright...I understand." A pathetic smile graces his features, and you can't help but feel a bit guilty at the look of disappointment on his handsome face. "Can't blame a guy for trying though, aye?"
You can't even tell if you're disappointed or relieved that he's finally given up, but you give him a grateful smile as you nod your head in understanding. Couldn't expect a guy that looks like that to put in too much effort with someone like you, right? "Right...yeah...thank for um, understanding."
"Of course..."
God, this is awkward.
The both of you stand and stare at each other for another moment longer before he turns to leave. But just as he turns to go, he stops in his tracks and thinks to himself for a second before letting out a puff of air before turning back to you. "Don't happen to have a pen, do you, love?"
You blink in surpise at the randomness of his question, but eventually nod your head and disappear for just a second before returning with one in hand.
If only you could see how nervously he tapped his fingers against the side his leg while he waited for you to come back - a habit he only ever indulged in when he couldn't contain his anxiety on missions. Something his captain always ragged on him for.
Yeah, he was absolutely hung up on you.
He tries to ignore how soft your hand is when he takes the pen from you, but he can't ignore the way your touch zaps up through his arm and straight to his heart. And from the way you tuck your arm back against your chest with hot cheeks, he can't help but wonder if you felt it, too.
He pulls a crinkled receipt from the pocket of his jacket as he gives you a nervous smile, almost like he's waiting for you to scold him for trying again. And if it isn't the most charming thing you've ever seen... “Listen…if you change your mind-“ His hand moves quickly to scribble something on the small piece of paper, and when he hands it to you, you see his number written in handwriting that is frustratingly neat for a man in a rush. “-just let me know. No pressure, of course. I’ll fuck off if you want me to, but…just thought I’d give you the option. Don’t think I could live with myself if I didn’t at least offer to make it up to you.”
And you take that stupid, crinkled piece of paper from his hand against your better judgement, and to your chagrin you can feel your cheeks burning brightly enough for him to see. Luckily for you, he can't see the way your heart is dancing around in your chest at the prospect of actually having a chance with him.
"Right...ok." You mumble quietly as you stare down at his number, toying at the edges of the paper with your thumb before his voice catches your attention once more.
“Well, um…I should get going. I hope you have a good day, darling.” A part of you was horrified to realize that you didn't want him to leave just yet, but you just nod your head stiffly as he backs away from your doorstep. And god he gives you that handsome, charming smile one more time before he turns on his heel and calls over his shoulder. "I hope I get to see you again."
And you wave at him so awkwardly as he walks away, like a deer caught in headlights, but it makes his heart flutter all the same. He hopes that even if he doesn't get a chance with you, someone else will realize what a catch you are. Someone who will treat you the way you deserve. Someone like him.
It's not until much later in the day - when he's stuck in a briefing and trying not to fall asleep with Price's voice droning on johnny's already drooling on the table - that his phone vibrates in his pocket. He sneaks it out underneath the table to take a quick glance to see who could be messaging him, and his heart practically leaps out of his chest when he sees an unfamiliar number.
‘ok...maybe just one coffee.’
He can't help but smile to himself as he reads it, and before he can begin to type out a response, another message pops up on his screen. And another. And another.
'i mean, only if you're still interested, of course.'
'no pressure or anything :)'
'oh, this is y/n by the way!'
Yeah, you might be the sweetest girl he's ever met.

You didn't know exactly how, but you ended up in a situationship between the colonel and your lieutenant, none of them knowing about each other.
Ghost was never the jealous type, at least that's what he said. But some things changed when he heard your voice when he was passing in front of König's room.
"Scheiße, baby." He moaned. It wasn't so loud, but since Ghost had keen senses and was practically merging his ear with the door, it was loud enough for him to hear. He was startled, how could you do this?
For a brief moment, he felt insecure. Was he not enough for you? That's why you had to find someone else to give you pleasure? But you've always told him how it was good, how he fucked you just the way you liked it.
Lieutenant 'not the jealous type' Ghost.
Ironical.
But that feeling changed when he was pinning your face to the mattress, ass up, his cock abusing your hole. He held his phone up, filming how your ass jiggled when he thrusted hard inside you. Your arms were tied behind your back with his belt, and he held them before pulling out and jerking himself off, coming on your ass, cum dripping down your big lips.
And, well, that video was 'accidentally' sent to König's e-mail.
She lets me cum inside.
Ghost could not fucking believe the answer he read on the phone. He expected König to back off, but apparently König had the same expectations.
He couldn't confront you, and the idea of sharing you with his superior was slowly driving him nuts. You noticed he started fucking you rougher, he'd shoot videos of you two having sex saying he needed those to remind him of you. Of course it was weird at first, but you could trust him, or so you thought.
On the other side, König was also a bit different, the man was once calm, always taking his time with you, but he started to enjoy being meaner. He'd either deny or overstimulate you until you cried on his girthy and long dick hitting your cervix.
One day, while gagging on König's dick, you noticed him eyeing the locked phone on the bed, beside him. Without stopping, you reached for it and opened the camera, placing it on his large palm. He looks down at you, confused, and you give him a cock drunk smile. He didn't want to ask to film you, so this was pretty much convenient for him.
That was the first video he sent to Ghost in response to him fucking you senseless.
He was speechless. His cocky demeanor vanished as he tried to come up with a snarky response. Nothing could've prepared him to see you drooling on another cock. Unintentionally, the sight of you sucking another guy's dick made him hard. He had to excuse himself out of the meeting because he had a boner. It was funny, he felt like a teen.
But you noticed how both of them were different towards you and each other. They weren't used to talking before, and now it seemed like they'd punch each other's faces whenever they met in common rooms. König assigned difficult tasks towards Ghost and the thought of them knowing about your situationship terrified you once it crossed your mind.
You thought about confronting them, explaining the whole situation. They were both excellent in bed and they provided you with different feelings. König was soft and caring and Ghost was… well, Ghost. But you knew you could lose them two, even though you didn't have an established relationship with them.
One day, the task force is all drinking together, playing truth or dare. Gaz is dared to do something obscene, and he playfully moans like a girl.
Aye, sounds like the lad in König's room.
You choke, spitting the whiskey coke out, the soda gets out from your nose and your eyes get teary from the gas. They all get quiet when they look at you and you fake a laugh, of course Soap had to say that.
They soon forgot about the awkwardness and went back to the game, but Ghost was eyeing you like a prey. You purposefully avoided them since you all joined for the party, and he and König sat on opposite sides from each other. You sat in between Price and Gaz, you all in a weird circle.
Meeting room. Now.
Your phone buzzed as you received a message from your Lieutenant. You read it from the notifications and looked up, but he was already gone in the darkness. You come up with an excuse and get out of the common area.
When you walked in, the phantom was standing right across the table, you could only see a glimpse of his eyes. The lights were off, but the room was lit when he started typing the digits of his phone password. He slowly stands up and walks towards you, your legs already trembling with fear. The phone is left on the table right in front of you, displaying a video of your fucked out face while sucking a dick very different from his.
"Simon, I can expl-" you try to say, but you're cut off as he grabs a fistful of your hair and buries your face on the cold wooden surface of the table.
"Y'know why I brought you here?" He asks, holding your wrists behind your back. "So everyone can see who you belong to." You feel him restraining your hands with one of his hands, and the spare one unfastened his belt and pulled his pants down just enough to expose his already hard dick.
At this moment, you thank yourself for wearing sweatpants, because they were easily pulled down from your body. He lifted his mask and spat on your pussy, then entered you with his full length, not giving you time to get used to his size.
He fucked you desperately, grabbing your hair again, making you look at the looping video on the screen of his phone.
"You're such a fucking little slut." He groaned. "You're so desperate you need two fat cocks?" You felt ashamed, your face burning, not knowing if it was from the whiskey or the embarrassment. The door made a locking sound and you jolted, but Ghost's grip didn't let you give a look. "Like what you see here, Colonel?" He asks in between breaths, you squirm and try to move but he holds you in place. Soon there was a figure across from you, sitting on the empty chair and manspreading.
"If you fucked her good enough she wouldn't come to me." He said in that thick German accent.
"You're really petty for a second option." Ghost holds your throat from behind, choking you and forcing you to look at König. You can see König's dick getting hard, it wasn't easy for him to mask that due to his size. He got up and slowly walked around the table to get to you.
"How does he feel, schatz?" König grabs you by the chin, blue orbits finding its way into your soul. You couldn't even babble an answer, Ghost was fucking you brainless. Your eyes could only look back to König and your head could only nod. He lifts a bit of his hood and gives you a kiss, his lips containing the warmth you needed to melt.
"Kneel." Ghost demands you as he pulls out. You do as you're told, but in order to comfortably be on your knees, you pull your pants back up. They don't seem to care. König takes his belt off and folds it, running it from your chest to your chin, lifting your head.
"Be a good girl, ya?" He says as he pushes his pants down, his dick bouncing up as he releases from the boxers. Without even noticing, your mouth was already open and your tongue was laying flat. König brushed his pinkish, leaking tip on your lips and tongue, the familiar salty taste of his precum invading your senses. He pushes it in your mouth, fucking it slowly. Your hand travels to Ghost's dick and jerks him off as he watches. "Like what you see, Lieutenant?" König chuckles.
Ghost was going to give him a sarcastic response, but his head fell back when you started to suck him off, your hand now on König. As you expected, Ghost wasn't so gentle, so his hand grabbed your hair and pushed your throat down his length. You soon became a drooling mess, taking turns on each throbbing cock in front of you.
Your jaw became sore, taking just one of them was already hard enough. You felt a pressure against your pussy and looked down, König's boot was grinding against you. You groan, sinking your weight on his foot. The more you gagged around them, the more he'd move.
"Didn't I tell you were just a fucking whore?" Ghost pulled from your mouth and tapped his cock on your tear stained cheeks. "Getting off his foot, huh? So desperate." As if it was possible for you to get any wetter, you felt another wave of arousal moisten your panties.
He got you up and almost dragged you to the sofa in the corner of the room. König followed just behind. Ghost sat down and made you kneel in front of him, and König positioned himself behind you, large palms roaming your small body and gently pulling your pants down again. He aligned his shaft with your soaked pussy and in one long thrust he pushed it deep inside you.
"Just so… fucking tight." You hear him whimper as he bottoms out. Your eyes are locked with the masked man in front of you, that's slowly jerking himself off at the sight of you being filled by someone else. "Gonna have to tear this pretty pussy apart." You clench around him and he starts fucking you.
Ghost gently pulls your face closer and lifts his mask, planting a sloppy kiss on your lips. You could only moan, in hope no one else could hear it. Your lips were now connected on Ghost's member, eagerly sucking him off. Your moans sent vibrations down his skin and he groaned whenever you gagged.
König's cock was buried deep down your walls, he felt an incessant need to slam his hips into yours and make you a moaning mess, so he held your hips in place as he thrusted hard into you. One of his hands travelled down to your clit and started rubbing circles, easily making you orgasm around him. He felt his climax getting closer, but he didn't want this moment to end just as quick. When his pace became erratic, he pulled out, slapping your ass.
He got up and sat down beside Ghost, who got up and pulled you to his arms, holding you firmly in the air. Your legs were pushed to your chest, the back of your knees held by his veiny forearms. He entered your used hole and started slow, but it didn't last long and he was soon bouncing you up and down his length.
König watched as you took Ghost entirely, thinking about how tight you'd feel with another cock inside you. He gets up and walks behind you, brushing his tip on you.
"Do you think she can handle?" König asks with genuine concern.
"She'll take it and thank you for it, isn't that right, bunny?" Your arms are wrapped around his shoulders, your face buried in his neck. You manage a small nod before feeling another monstrous cock entering your abused hole.
How that fit was a story for another day, but your pussy was happy to be filled by two men. The pain started to go away and you moved a bit to signal them to go. They managed to keep the same pace for a while. König let you lay back on his chest as Ghost held your legs, they pushed deep down into your core.
"Look at you, taking both of us." Ghost mumbles. "Such an obedient little pet."
"Such a good girl, liebe." König moans in your ear.
They kept fucking you until you felt empty again. Emptier than ever. Your pants were taken away from your body and König pulled you on top of him as he sat down on the couch, already making you sit on his shaft. Ghost came behind you and you felt a humid finger entering your tight little hole.
"Simon-" you moan.
"Shut up." He puts another finger in.
"Too much."
"You've taken it before and you're gonna take it again like the good slut you are, understood?" You slowed down on König and felt another finger inside of you, stretching your butthole. You couldn't help but whimper at the way he was using you. "Don't stop fucking her." König holds your hips and starts thrusting harder.
Ghost replaced his fingers with his aching dick and you've never felt so good, so filled. He waited a minute before moving, giving you a bit to adjust. But goddamn it you were tight.
As soon as the pain went away, he started to move, gradually going faster. König was a whimpering mess below you, moaning german praises in your ear. In little to no time, you found yourself being railed once again.
"Can't take much more." König whimpered, digging his nails on your hips. Ghost landed a sharp slap to your ass and towered over you to reach for your clit, he stimulated you as he buried his face in the crook of your neck, trying to memorize your scent.
Your legs trembled as you felt your high approaching faster and faster, and you fall on König's chest, trying to muffle your loud moans.
"That's right, baby, be a good girl and come for us." König holds you close, reaching a new spot. That's what it took for you to squirt all over their dicks. Crying at the non stopping thrusts.
"Always have to leave a mess, huh?" You're still squirming as you hear Ghost say. "Fuck, you're so pretty when you cry."
König also feels his orgasm approaching and with a few more thrusts he can't hold it anymore.
"Gonna fill your cunt with my cum." He moans, holding your chin to look at him. He comes inside of you, but he doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. He keeps on slamming his dick inside your cervix and pushing his cum inside you, making the tears fall out of your eyes. He becomes a whimpering mess as he overstimulates his dick in your pussy.
Ghost also can't stop thinking about how good you feel, and how bad he needs to cum inside you. He slips a hand in front of your body and squeezes your breasts. It was enough to electrify his body and sent shivers down his spine. With just a few more erratic thrusts, he spills his seeds in your hole. He pulls out, kissing your back through his mask. König finally pulls out too, his dick red from the overstimulation. You collapse on his chest, losing consciousness.
"Truce?" He asks Ghost, who's getting dressed.
"Truce."

Johnny "Soap" MacTavish
You call him from the corner of the room, that nervous smile on your face. Soap knows right away that something big is coming — he feels it, like he senses danger on the field… But this time, it’s something different. Something good.
“Johnny… Do you remember the night you came back home after being away for so long due to that mission?” You tested the waters by avoiding telling the truth right away.
“Yeah… How could I forget that night?” He smiled warmly, his mind flashing with the images of that day. “What about it, hon?”
“Well… You know we got carried away and…”
“And…?”
“We’re having a baby.” You finally share your secret.
He blinks. Once. Twice. His usual playful smile disappears for a second, replaced by a stunned look, as if he’s trying to decode what he’s just heard.
“Are… are you serious?” You nod, and he… explodes with joy. He literally lifts you into the air with a surprised cry, almost laughing and crying at the same time.
“Oh my God! We’re going to be parents?! Aye, fuck, baby, is this really real?”
He kisses your forehead, then your belly, even though it hasn’t even changed yet. He murmurs a bunch of sweet things in that warm accent — promises, plans, dreams. And then he whispers very softly, just for you to hear:
“I swear I will be the best father in the world… to our baby. And the best man to you. Always.”
When the morning sickness starts, he becomes your personal bodyguard against any suspicious smells: “What the hell is that in the air?! It smells like poison, honey. Close that window!”
He researches everything about pregnancy and becomes the most emotional “expert” on the planet. He sends you messages like: “Did you know that the baby already has little fingers today? LITTLE FINGERS, BABY!”
He talks to your belly every day, telling them about his missions, his friends on the team, and asking if the baby prefers soccer or rugby: “If you kick now, it’ll be rugby, okay?”
He starts to become obsessed with photos. He takes a thousand selfies with you and your belly, even while you’re sleeping.
He refuses to let you carry anything, literally: “Not even the bag. Not even the remote. Let me carry it, honey.”
He massages your feet every night, and even develops a ‘military relaxation technique’ just so you can sleep better.
He has a hospital bag ready with 30 unnecessary things, like three types of chocolate, a teddy bear, and a mini speaker to play Scottish music for the baby.
He’s always reminding you how beautiful you are, even when you feel uncomfortable and insecure. “No matter how big your belly is, you’ve always been the love of my life, and now you’re carrying our little miracle. And no, I don’t give a single fuck about those stretchmarks. You’re nurturing a life inside your womb and your body is adapting itself because of it. I still think you look damn hot and I’m forever thankful that those pregnancy hormones shifted you into a little insatiable thing.”
He gets touchy-feely, sometimes hugging you in the middle of the night just to say thank you.
He makes up nicknames for the baby while he’s still in the womb, like “Little Soap”.
He gets really emotional during the first ultrasound. He holds your hand tightly and tries not to cry… but fails miserably.
He makes special playlists with soft Scottish music, movie soundtracks and even records himself talking so the baby can hear at night.
He buys miniature army clothes, but also absurdly cute ones, like animal costumes, because “he needs to have style in the nursery”.
One day he shows up with a crib set up in the middle of the living room just because “he wanted to see if it would look nice in natural light”.
He learns to cook your favorite foods (even if it turns out to be a disaster) just so you can eat what you want safely.
He keeps notes with the dates of the first times: first kick, first time their heartbeat was heard, first photo of your belly. He’s creating a secret “dossier” of love.
He swears he’s going to be the most present father in the world. No matter how much life changes, he will always be there for you two.
It was a quiet night at home. The sky was clear, with a million stars shining through the open window. You were sitting on the couch, with a cup of hot tea in your hands, and Soap was lying next to you, with his head on your lap, apparently tired from the intense mission of the day. The conversation was calm, but you knew it was time to tell him the news. He was so focused on caressing your stomach as you played with his hair, that he didn't notice how nervous you were.
"Did you know you're going to be the best dad in the world?" You said softly, feeling your heart race. Soap looked at you with a crooked smile, his eyes shining with evident affection.
"I have no doubt about that, love. But what do you mean, best dad? If I'm not, who will be, huh?" You laughed, but you were feeling overflowing with happiness. Suddenly, the moment was there, and it was as if time had slowed down just so he could hear your words.
"Well… I can't say who's going to be the best father, but you're the best for me, and… Our daughter is going to be very lucky." There was a pause. Soap stood up quickly, looking at you, confused, as if he hadn't quite understood. His eyes were curious, but his smile stubbornly wouldn't leave his face.
"Wait… What?" He asked, his eyes shining even brighter. You laughed, feeling the heat rise to your face.
"I… we're expecting a little girl." Soap's eyes widened for a moment and he was silent, processing the information. When it finally sunk in, he leaned forward, with a dazzling smile.
"A little girl?" he repeated, his voice full of disbelief.
"Yes, a little girl," You said, your heart almost jumping out of your chest. "You're going to be the father of a little girl." And then, he simply laughed. A genuine, happy laugh, one of those laughs that seemed so honest that you felt your soul warm. He stood up from the couch, holding your hands tightly before he jumped close to you, not caring about the teacup that almost fell to the floor.
"Are you sure about this? A real little girl?" He asked again, his eyes shining with happiness.
You laughed then, finally, the feeling of nervousness disappearing. He was more excited than ever, and his happiness was contagious.
"I'm sure!" You answered, laughing along with him, the two of you hugging each other tightly. "We're going to have a daughter, Soap." He ran his hand over your belly, still not fully believing it, but with a sparkle in his eyes that didn't fade.
"I promise that I'm going to be the best dad in the world. It's going to be a pleasure to watch our little girl grow up." You leaned back against the couch, feeling your heart beat faster.
"I know you will." And as he continued to rub your belly, smiling like a fool and in that moment, you were more certain than ever that he was the kind of father who would do anything for her.
Keegan P. Russ
You hadn’t planned to tell him like this. You wanted something elaborate, symbolic… maybe a candlelit dinner, a note written in your nervous handwriting. But there, sitting on the couch, with his hand resting on your thigh and his eyes intently watching a movie, you felt the right moment — a comfortable, intimate silence, just the two of you.
“Keegan…” You began, your voice low, almost as if you were keeping a precious secret between your lips. He turned his face to you right away. He always did that — when you spoke, he listened. With his eyes, with his whole body. It was a habit of his to offer you his total presence.
“Is something wrong?” He asked immediately, already with that protective look that always came when you hesitated.
“No… it’s just...” You took his hand and brought it to your belly, as if that would be enough. Maybe it was. For a moment, he didn’t understand. He looked back at your face, at your eyes filled with unshed tears, at his hand under your still flat stomach, but which held a secret growing in silence.
“Are you...?” He didn’t finish the question, but his eyes said it all. You nodded, with a shy, uncertain, but hopeful smile. The air between you changed. He didn’t say anything for a second too long — but you saw it. His shoulders relaxed as if he had been waiting for this news without knowing. His eyes watered, and his mouth opened slowly, a whisper coming out between his lips:
“Are we becoming a family...?” The way he hugged you that night was different. It was a protective, reverent grip. As if you were made of porcelain. As if the most important miracle of his life was inside you — and it was.
The focused, meticulous soldier appeared in a new form: in nutrition spreadsheets, reminders on his phone with alarms for his snacks, vitamins, and appointments. He went with you to all of them—even when he was exhausted, even when he had just returned from a mission the day before. He sat next to you, held your hand, and listened intently to every word the obstetrician said.
Keegan was the type of person who didn’t say much, but showed it all through his actions. He learned to cook healthy meals even though he didn’t know how to cut a tomato properly at first. He would run his hands over his belly before bed every night, with a caress that felt like a silent prayer.
And when the symptoms got tough — the nausea, the aches, the bloating — Keegan didn’t run away. He showed up with tea (and if you refused to drink them, he’d force you to, saying it was for the good of the baby you were nurturing), warm blankets, and concerned eyes. He sat on the floor beside your bed when you didn’t want to talk. He was just there and it was enough.
Sometimes, during the night, he would wake up just to check if you were still sleeping well. He would run his hand over your forehead, carefully adjusting your position, as if he could protect you even from nightmares.
Keegan, during your pregnancy, was as firm as steel and as gentle as a cozy blanket. He became your safe haven, your silent and constant guardian. He slept with his hand on your belly, talked to the baby when he thought you couldn’t hear, promised he would be there, always, that he would take care of you, that no one would ever hurt you both.
You found him in the kitchen, cooking your latest craving: berry pie.
“Baby,” You called, leaning against the door frame. He looked up immediately, a small smile forming when he saw you there.
You walked over to him slowly, your heart racing, and pulled out the small pair of blue booties you had bought that morning.
“For when he gets here.” You said, placing the booties in his hands. A cheesy way to reveal the gender of your baby, yes, but those booties were just too cute for you to ignore.
Keegan frowned, confused at first — until understanding dawned on him. He blinked a few times, in disbelief.
“A little boy?” He asked, almost in a choked whisper.
You nodded with an excited smile. He laughed softly, shaking his head as if he was still processing it. Then he pulled you slowly closer, resting his forehead against yours before spinning you around slowly and carefully to not make you nauseous.
“My little boy… Our little boy!” He murmured, his voice cracking with joy.
When the time arrives, Keegan is incredibly calm on the outside, but inside he is a whirlwind of emotions. He has never been so scared and so happy at the same time. He held your hand through every contraction, whispering “You can do it,” “I’m here,” “It’s going to be okay” like a mantra — as if his voice could protect you from the pain. When he heard the baby cry for the first time, his eyes filled with tears instantly. He tried to hide it, but the emotion overflowed in his eyes and in the way he smiled at you and when he held his son for the first time. He was completely mesmerized: his big fingers touched the little body with the greatest delicacy in the world, as if he was afraid of hurting his own son.
Keegan refuses to sleep while you rest. He sits in an armchair with the baby on his lap, just observing every little detail of the newborn. When the medical team came back and found him with the baby sleeping on his chest, and you sleeping in bed, they said it looked like a scene from a movie.
He talks to the baby even though he knows he doesn't understand: "You have your mother's eyes... And you'll be strong like her too."
Takes pictures of the tiny feet, of the baby grabbing your finger, of you breastfeeding him, bathing him and sleeping with him and keeps them all in a folder that only he has access to.
Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick
You realized something was wrong when you woke up with an upset stomach for two days in a row — and without having eaten anything heavy. The smell of the breakfast you loved started to make you nauseous… and that was the first warning sign. Kyle even jokingly commented: “Are you abandoning me in our sacred coffee ritual?” — and you forced a smile, pretending you weren’t worried. A few days later, you realized your period was late. A week. Then ten days. And then fifteen. And then, sweet fear hit deep in your chest.
You bought the test by yourself, on a quick trip to the pharmacy, and hid it in your purse as if it were a state secret. On a cold, slow morning, you took the test while Kyle was still sleeping. The silence in the bathroom was almost deafening as you waited the five minutes that the package indicated. Two lines. Two lines that changed everything. You stood still for long minutes, in the same position, holding the test with shaking hands and teary eyes. You didn't know whether to laugh or cry. You did both. The first thing you thought was: "How am I going to tell him?" — and right after: "Will he want this with me?"
You tried to plan a cute way to tell him. A special dinner, a little box with the test and a note. But anxiety got the best of you. You told him in a simple way, on a normal afternoon, when it was just the two of you, sitting together. He noticed something different about you, and when you shared the secret you were carrying alone, time seemed to stop.
He was sitting on the couch, his eyes softly focused on you as you walked slowly toward him, your hands clasped in front of you, as if trying to contain your racing heart. He could tell right away — you were nervous.
“Are you okay, love?” He asked, his voice low, full of affection.
You nodded, but your throat was dry. You took a deep breath, then walked over and sat down next to him. His hand came naturally to yours, his warm, firm fingers wrapping around yours as if to say ‘I’m here, talk to me.’
“Kyle…” Your gaze met his, and there was so much tenderness there it almost hurt. “I’m pregnant.” For a moment, the world seemed suspended. His smile froze mid-smile, his eyes wide with surprise. You saw the emotion building there — first confusion, then a wet gleam in his eyes, as if he’d just heard something sacred.
“Are you… pregnant?” He repeated in a whisper, as if he was afraid to break the moment.
You nodded, with a small smile. His answer came in the form of a soft, almost breathless laugh, before he pulled you into a hug full of warmth and reverence. He held you as if you were made of glass, but at the same time with such intensity that your heart seemed to fit into his.
“We’re going to have a baby… Fuck’s sake!, that’s so amazing...” He whispered against your neck, as if he still couldn’t believe it.
“Kyle… No swearing around the baby.”
“Copy that.” He smiled. “I'll be here. Every step, every beat of this little heart… I want to live it all with you.” After that, he placed his hand lovingly on your lower belly, as if he could already feel the new life you had started together. And in that moment, between soft smiles and slow kisses, the whole world seemed to fit between his arms.
He became obsessed with learning everything: he read medical articles, downloaded three different pregnancy apps, and asked the internet if certain strange food cravings were normal.
He created a ritual: every night, he would lie with his head on her belly and whisper stories, just to “familiarize the baby with his father’s voice.” He would always say proudly: “Our baby will be born hearing the most beautiful accent in the world, honey.”
He was so protective, but in a sweet way —  accompanying you to every appointment, carrying healthy snacks in his bag, and talking to doctors like you were a secret agent on a mission.
When your belly started to grow, he bought funny “Loading… Baby 50%” T-shirts and forced you to wear them just to see your grumpy little face. No need to tell him they look awful, he’s already taking pictures of you.
One day, he found you crying watching a random video of a stray dog being adopted and he just sat down with you, hugging you tightly, and getting emotional too, without even knowing why.
He insisted on putting the crib together with his own hands. He made several mistakes, got his fingers stuck, and cursed the manual — but in the end, the crib was perfect.
When the contractions started, he went into military mode in 0.1 seconds. He grabbed the hospital bag, checked the checklist, warned everyone and took you to the hospital as if he was on a mission.
During the birth, he held your hand the whole time, letting you crush his fingers without complaining as he kept murmuring something along the lines of “Breathe with me. I’m with you.”
When the baby was born and cried for the first time, he cried too — the kind of silent, emotional cry that comes from deep in the chest.
He was paralyzed for a few seconds when he saw the baby in his arms, with teary eyes, whispering: “We did it. Look… we did it.”
You waited to find out the baby’s sex until the birth. It was a huge shock when the obstetrician said that a little boy had been born: “Hell yeah!”, he celebrated. “My little boy,” he murmured, his voice hoarse with emotion. “Our son...”
König
He finally returned from that mission that seemed to have no end.
You call him by name with that soft voice that makes him feel weak to his knees. He notices something in your tone. The blue eyes fixed on yours with attention… and a hint of anxiety. “Was ist passiert, mein Schatz?” (“What happened, my love?”)
You take a deep breath, smiling with a nervousness that he immediately picks up on — and you finally say three words that change everything:
“I am pregnant.” For a moment, he freezes. Not with rejection. Not with anger. But as if the world had gone silent. His eyes widen slightly, he takes a step back as if he’s been shocked, only to then approach you again with visible hesitation in his hands. The mask covers half of his reaction, but his eyes say it all. Pure vulnerability. The doubt of whether he deserves this. The desire to believe he still deserves to be happy.
“Is it… mine?” He asks, his voice lower than ever.
“Of course it is, König!”
When you say that — of course he knew it was his — König lets out a shaky sigh and puts his hands on his head, walking a few steps as if he doesn’t know what to do with his own body. Then he stops and he comes back to you. He kneels and he hugs your still-flat belly, pressing it against his face with an almost religious reverence.
“Mein Gott (My god)… you gave me a new life.” He murmurs, his voice hoarse and muffled.
Then he looks down at you, with teary eyes — the intimidating giant now looking like a lost, happy boy — and says something you would never forget:
“I never thought I would have something so precious. I will take care of you. The both of you. Even if the world falls apart… you will be safe.”
In the first few months, König is on constant alert. Every moment of nausea, every different expression on your face, makes him stop everything to check if you are okay.
He obsessively researches pregnancy in silence, on his cell phone, reading scientific articles, forums, and even mothers' groups — all in secret, with his eyes fixed on the screen as if he were studying military tactics.
He tries to cook for you (with… variable results), just because he read that certain foods help with morning sickness.
When your belly starts to grow, König starts talking to you when he thinks you are sleeping. He lies down next to you, his head resting gently on your belly, murmuring in German with a sweetness that seems unthinkable for such a huge man. "Dein Vater liebt dich sehr, mein kleines Wunder..." ("Your father loves you very much, my little miracle...")
He starts to accompany you to every medical appointment as if they were a mission, paying attention to every comment from the doctors and nurses as if his life depended on it.
When your belly is already heavy and your steps are slower, König starts carrying you to any place that involves stairs. Literally. He doesn't even ask. He just picks you up with the greatest care in the world, as if you were made of glass.
When you start having false contractions, he goes into a state of absolute focus—the hospital bag has been packed for weeks, the routes have been planned, the emergency numbers are posted on the fridge. But despite this, he is always kind, always calm with you, even though he is seething with nerves inside.
He has internal crises of insecurity, but he never burdens you with them. He writes everything down in a hidden notebook, as a way of letting off steam.
You find him on the balcony, the sky tinged with gold by the sunset. König’s back is turned, still, silent, as he usually does when he’s thinking too much. His large hands are resting on the railing, his broad body almost blocking the light. He turns when he hears your footsteps, and his soft gaze immediately lands on your belly with an almost reverent affection.
You smile, and he responds with that shy little smile at the corner of his mouth, his eyes still seeming to search for more signs that you’re okay.
“What did the doctor say?” He asks in a low voice, waiting for each word as if they were sacred.
You walk towards him, slowly, feeling your heart beat faster — not from nervousness, but from excitement. Then you take one of his hands and guide it to your belly.
“She’s fine,” You begin, looking into his eyes. “And yes... I said she.”
König’s eyes blink, as if it took him a second to process.
“She...?” He whispers, almost in disbelief. You nod, smiling even wider.
“We’re having a little girl.” His breath catches for a moment. His blue eyes — usually so restrained, so trained not to show too much — shine with immediate moisture. He kneels, letting his forehead touch yours while his hands wrap around your belly with a delicacy that doesn’t match its size.
You run your fingers through his hair, feeling him snuggle closer, his arms around your waist as if he wanted to protect the two of you from the entire world.
“She’s already so loved, König. By me… and by you.”
“I… I don’t know if I’m ready. But I’ll give everything. Everything. For both of you.”
“You’re already everything she needs. And everything I need too.”
Nikto
The truth is that you found out you were carrying his child only in the third month of pregnancy. The missions, your dangerous job, the obligations, plans and goals, your own complex relationship with Nikto… all of this was too much for you to handle. The days became weeks and the weeks became months as you just ignored the symptoms, thinking that the nausea and exhaustion would pass. But they remained very present, and your suspicion only increased.
You took a pregnancy test, which came back positive. And to be sure, you also took a blood test some days after and then, an ultrasound, which finally revealed the baby's gender: a little boy was coming into the world. You did all this without saying a word to Nikto, fearing that he would hate the news. You weren't stupid, you knew he would soon realize something was out of place. Your body was changing, your symptoms were still present, and you even avoided exposing yourself to any kind of risk, as much as possible, unlike before.
He suspected the possible reason why this was happening, but he never forced you to admit anything. Not until you were ready.
When you told him the news, at first he reacted with silence and a hard look, trying to process the information. He’s not the type to show emotion easily, so you thought he was angry or indifferent… But inside, he would be conflicted. Part of him would feel vulnerable — the idea of having created a new life would hit him harder than he expected. Another part would be on edge, worried for your safety and that of the baby, since his world is too violent for something so innocent.
But he wouldn’t shy away from responsibility. He just wouldn’t know how to show he cares in the traditional way. You’d see him more protective, more present, but also more silent. His love would be shown in actions, not words.
The base was silent that night—just the hum of the generators and the occasional sound of boots echoing in the hallway. He was sitting at the table, cleaning his weapon with the meticulous precision of always, his mask pushed up to his forehead, revealing those hard eyes… but that always softened when they landed on you. You walked in slowly, your fingers intertwined in front of you, your heart beating fast.
He noticed it instantly. He dropped the metal piece on the table and watched you silently. Not like a soldier, but like a man. Your man.
“Are you hurt?” He asked, standing up immediately, his tone low but attentive.
You shook your head, taking a deep breath before speaking.
“It’s not that. But… I need to tell you something. And it’s important.”
His eyes narrowed. He crossed his arms, his body firm as steel, but his gaze… almost nervous.
“I’m pregnant, Nikto.”
The silence that followed was as thick as the darkness outside. He didn’t answer. He just stood there, motionless, as if time had frozen. What did you expect? A scream? A sigh? A “how did that happen?”?
None of that came.
He walked towards you, slowly, as if he were stepping on unknown land. He stopped so close that you could feel the heat of his body. His gloved hand rose to your face — it hesitated in the air for a second — and then landed with a delicacy that no one would ever imagine that man was capable of.
“My son?” He murmured, his voice so low that it seemed like a secret between you and the universe.
Son… And he even had guessed the baby gender right.
You nodded, tears in your eyes, but smiling.
He closed his eyes for a moment, and when he opened them again, there was something there. It wasn’t fear. Or anger. It was… instinct. A raw kind of love — unconditional, protective.
"How do you…" You hugged him, and that took him by surprise. It took Nikto a few seconds to hug you back, but when he did, he stroked your hair with affection. "How do you know it's a boy?"
"Is it?"
"I mean… yeah."
"Perhaps it was just my intuition." He kissed the top of your head, wanting to protect you from the world.
“You will not leave my sight.” His voice had returned to its firm tone. “I will take care of you both. From now on.” And then, for the first time since you met him, Nikto knelt down, making himself vulnerable before you. Lifting your shirt, he pressed his lips to your slightly swollen belly, so gently that it barely seemed real. But it was. It was his promise. No pretty words. Just presence. Just surrender.
Nikto was already a controlling person by nature, but from the moment he found out about your pregnancy, he became a constant shadow by your side. He checks safe routes before you go out, monitors the environment where you sleep, and leaves discreet trackers on everything you wear “just in case.” He doesn’t say, “I’m afraid something will happen,” he just acts—as if he could take on the whole world for you and the baby.
He’s not the type to say, “You look so beautiful carrying my son” but out of nowhere you find a soft blanket on the couch, hot tea on the table, or maternity clothes in your size neatly folded on the bed. When you ask him if that was his doing, he just answers curtly, “Maybe.” But if you insist, he might say, “I like to see you comfortable.” (And he looks down, because that was the most vulnerability he could show that day.)
If you’re lying down and you let out a whimper of pain or discomfort, within seconds he’ll be there, kneeling beside the bed, pressing his hands firmly against your back. He never comments anything, he just keeps going until he feels you’ve relaxed. When you say a weak “thank you” he’ll give you a quick nod and maybe — just maybe — press a kiss against your forehead before leaving the room.
At night, when you are dozing on the couch or in bed, he will slowly come over and, if he is comfortable doing so, he will rub your belly while speaking to the baby in Russian. They are short, almost military phrases, but sweet in his own way: "Your mother is stronger than anyone. You will get this from her." Or even: "You will not know war. I swear."
Even with all his confidence, he sometimes stays silent for long periods, staring at you from afar. When you ask him, he ends up saying something like: “I don’t know if I’m cut out for this. I only know how to fight.” It’s at this moment that you see his most human side. He’s not afraid of war, but he is afraid of failing you. And when you hold his hand and tell him he’s already doing more than enough, he doesn’t respond. He just squeezes your hand tightly — and doesn’t let go.
Simon “Ghost” Riley
Hot and intense nights became common when the pressure of the world became great enough to suffocate you both.
You sought refuge in sex, night after night indulging your most primitive and sinful desires as a relatively effective, but twisted, way of enduring the horrendous reality of serving the country.
Even though you knew that being careful was relatively far from being part of your routine, you felt the world fall apart when the first symptoms began.
Nausea, fatigue and insecurity had become part of your essence and the fear of the future permeated your soul.
You tried to hide your pregnancy for as long as possible, not wanting to tell Simon, much less your team members.
Bringing an innocent life into the hell you lived was a senseless act. Then why did you feel so much love for someone who hadn't even been born yet?
You were almost four months pregnant when, during a mission, you fainted for no apparent reason. You weren't taking care of yourself enough — eating little, sleeping little and keeping so many secrets to yourself... It came as no surprise to anyone when your body couldn't handle all of that.
"Stay with me... Hey! She needs medical help!" Ghost shouted, looking around desperately, protecting your body as if you were the most fragile thing in the world at that moment.
Your consciousness slowly returned, and you realized that you were being carried by him to a safer place.
"I'm sorry." You stammered, feeling guilty for having interrupted the gathering of such important information.
"Don't apologize. I've never seen you so pale and weak like this, not even on worse missions." You were finally in a calmer place, still alone with him, and before other people entered the room to check on you, you decided it was time to tell him the truth.
"Simon, I..." You hesitated, wondering for a moment if being honest with him was really what you wanted.
"You...?" He encouraged you, squeezing your thigh affectionately, as usual.
"I... I'm pregnant." His eyes widened, and his grip on your thigh tightened, almost hurting you.
"What...?" He mumbled to himself, slowly fitting the pieces of the puzzle together and everything made sense — your extreme sensitivity to the tastes and smells that you usually liked, your endless naps, your hurried and unannounced trips to the bathroom, your lack of complaints about cramps, almost as if you hadn't had your period that month... It all made sense, and his head almost exploded.
"How did I not notice?" He whispered, pulling you close, hugging you tightly as if he wanted to protect you from all the evil in the world. "How far along are you?"
"Almost four months." You mumbled against his chest as he stroked your hair lovingly. "I think it was on your birthday..."
That night... That fateful night.
"How are you feeling about this?"
"I... I don't know what to think..." Your hands involuntarily went down your body, caressing the slightly swollen belly due to the life that was developing there. "But I love them so much already..."
He smiled against your hair, hugging you tighter, a genuine happiness slowly forming inside his heart.
"I'm scared, Si." You admitted. "I'm scared of bringing them into this world only to suffer and see horrible things like the two of us."
"Hey, don't say that. Even in hell I found you. I found someone worth fighting for and waking up to everyday. Life isn't all bad, you taught me that yourself." You didn't answer, but he understood what you meant.
"Regardless of your decision — whether you’re keeping them or not — I will support you and stay by your side. Until my last breath." And he kissed the top of your head.
You couldn't muster the courage to abort that life. They were the fruit of the love between you and Simon and they were the best thing you had.
So you decided to keep it, to face the consequences of your acts, to carry the responsibility of bringing a life into this world.
Months passed without you wanting to know the baby's sex, until Simon convinced you to investigate it.
"Guess." You murmured against his lips, your hands cupping his cheeks.
"Hmm, I have a feeling it's a girl." He secretly longed for one. You guided his hand so he could feel the baby moving, kicking you weakly every now and then.
"It's a girl! We're having a little girl, Si!" His heart fluttered with joy.
"Bloody hell, love... Fuck, I love her so much already. I can't wait to finally meet her."
He has a habit of murmuring sweet nothings your swollen stomach as his fingertips caresses the skin of your belly.
He doesn't let you lift a finger to do almost anything and he even asked captain Price not to allow you to leave the base for any more missions. He couldn't bait to lose both of you.
He helps you with your craving and pregnancy pains —  his massages are divine and melt away any tension you may be feeling.
Close to delivery, when you can no longer bear the weight of your very own stomach, he holds your belly gently with both hands, slowly freeing you from the weight of your little girl for a few seconds — seconds that relieve you absurdly.
Actually cries when he sees his baby for the first time — she's just so tiny, all wrapped around a blanket and her baby clothes, her foot is barely the size of his thumb and she's a little carbon copy of him in appearance. He's utterly glad you decided to keep her over five months ago. He couldn't imagine a world where you three didn't exist anymore.
He is completely disarmed by his daughter. He can face any enemy without hesitation, but if she cries in the morning or asks for something with that look in her eyes, he simply melts.
Protection is his second name. He checks locks, cameras, and sleeps lightly, as if he was still in the field. But the truth is that he just wants to make sure that nothing will hurt the two people he loves most in the world.
As your husband (fucking finally, right?), Simon is silent… but constant. He doesn't need big words; he shows it with actions. Coffee ready, blanket pulled up in the middle of the night, arm around waist without saying anything. He is simply perfect.

A Cracked And Fissured Door
Pairing: Simon 'Ghost' Riley x Reader
Genre: Hurt/Comfort
"You just...you make me feel like you only want me when nobody's looking."
It stings, if she's being honest. Being kept at an arms length when in public. Most people know about them, so she's not sure why he's so...cold and distant when they're not alone.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
"If he sends us out before next week I'm quitting." Soap groans, back cracking as he flops down forward on the bar. "Three ops in a week? What do I look like, a machine?"
Gaz snickers, raising his glass to that. "Bloody might well be at this point."
She hides a smile behind her own drink, leaning back into the bar. They had done three ops in a week, mission after mission after mission. It had been pretty rough, just as Soap said and she was more than ready to crash and burn and sleep for three days straight but abandoning their tradition of getting drinks at this specific bar everything Saturday was not something anyone on the 141 was willing to break.
"Just be glad we got the weekend off." Ghost says from beside her. She smiles warmly at him, is rewarded with a slightly blank look.
The flicker of her smile is hid behind another sip.
"Betcha your gonna take advantage of that, eh?" Soap nudges her, looking pointedly between her and Ghost. The latter rolls his eyes and says nothing.
"Only thing I'm looking forward to is an actual mattress." She knocks back the last of her drink and stands, shrugging Gaz's arm slung over her shoulder. "Speaking of which, I think it's about time we call it a night." Casting a glance at her boyfriend, who merely nods in confirmation and pushes the stool back himself, she nods at the others. "Don't cause too much trouble, boys. Text us when you're home safe, yeah?"
"We just got shot at for a week, don't think a car ride home is gonna be the end of us." Soap snorts.
"You never know." Is all she says before stepping out of the bar with Ghost, who offers her her coat to shrug on.
"Hell of a week." She comments, glancing at him gratefully as she shrugs on the warm fabric.
"Just glad it's over," Simon says simply.
Walking back to their car, she can't help but cast quiet glances at him as they walk. She knows Ghost notices them, chooses to keep looking ahead and keep the silence.
Truth be told, she aches to touch him.
Aches to feel his skin on hers, to feel the callouses of his hands brush against hers. His heat, ever all-encompassing makes her feel safe in a way no bulletproof vest ever could.
"Think I might ask Price to assign me desk duty for a while." She jokes, knocking their shoulders together gently.
To the untrained eye, to someone who might not have been tuned to what makes Simon Simon, it wouldn't have been noticeable, but he leans subtly away so they don't touch again.
She doesn't mention it, but it makes her heart heavy.
It's nothing new. She's not sure why she's even surprised anymore.
Trying again, her arm hangs beside her, purposefully brushing against his gloves. The frown on her face deepens when he shoves his hands into his pockets.
Maybe it's the exhausting week she's had, but it gets to her, infects her heart, mind, and soul with the insecurity she keeps locked behind a cracked and fissured door in her mind.
It stings, if she's being honest.
He's not the most...social person. Closed off and private, but baring her soul to someone she loves and getting so little in return...
Being kept at an arm's length when in public, even though their relationship is not a secret. Most people know, actually, so she's not sure why he's so...cold and distant when they're not alone.
The car ride home is silent, but not in a comfortable way their quiet is usually shared. Simon seems to pick up on it, because he grips the steering wheel a little too hard, the tension in his shoulders a little too foreign.
Gaz had no problem touching her. A friendly punch to the arm, an arm around her shoulder. Soap was a touchy person by nature, nudging her and ruffling her hair.
So why was it that Simon always pulled away?
The one person who should love her the most, who should be proud of loving her...why does he pull away and pretend this thing between them doesn't exist.
She doesn't get it, hasn't understood for the past two years they've been together. Pushing was not something she'd considered given his stubbornness and private nature, but there's no denying she's always felt a twinge of hurt whenever he disregards her in public.
Was he...ashamed? Of her? Did he not want to be seen with her?
The thought latches itself onto her, sucking away the usual confidence she carries and leaving her a nervous mess. It makes her sick. Before she knows it they're back home but she can't find herself to walk any farther than the front door that's shut behind her.
He doesn't comment on it, just casts her an inquisitive look before moving to the kitchen in view.
Simon always did like a cup of tea before bed.
"Simon?" The word comes out a little garbled, caught in her indecision, and morphed into something muffled. He hears it, because of course he does, and hums. Doesn't look up from where he's rifling through the cupboards for his kettle.
The air is cold in her lungs, freezes up with nerves, and this is all so ridiculous. It's stupid and she shouldn't be feeling this way but she does because she just does.
Trust was a precious jewel, a diamond only given to those who trusted enough to keep it unmarred. Necklaces and earrings and bracelets, she feels like she could make millions of intricate pieces with the bits of trust she had bared for Simon to take and keep as his own.
Simon knows what she loves, what she hates, how she feels about anything and everything. The rhyme and reasons, the way she ticks, and what throws her off kilter. He knows it all, it's been given willingly and eagerly to the man who took her heart with that rough demeanour on the tarmac two years ago.
She had given him all her gems, the shiniest and the dullest ones, but he's never even been bothered to spare her a piece of coal.
When she doesn't speak immediately, he pauses his movements and sets down the kettle on the counter with a 'clink'. "What's the matter, love?" He straightens up.
"Do you want to be with me?" She blurts out, unable to fathom leaving this conversation for another day. Not when she's so worked up and hurt and feeling.
His face stays blank, and when he responds it's almost as if he's doing it carefully. "What do you mean?"
"I mean what I asked." The sides of her coat are clutched with a knuckle-white grip, nausea making her an inch away from ruining the lovely carpet they'd picked out together when they'd first moved in.
Simon furrows his brows. "I'm here, aren't I?"
"That's not what I asked." Unease starts to curl up in her gut. "Do you like me, Simon?"
"Of course I fucking like you, what are you talking about?"
"You sure don't act like it."
There.
It's in the open now. Simon stares at her for a moment, shocked or stunned or whatever emotion that causes him to clam up for a moment.
He never really was good at this part of their relationship, but this...it was vital. It was important because she refuses to let this problem define what they have together.
"You don't touch me when we're not alone." She starts, "You act like I'm just no one when we're out together. You barely acknowledge me any more than anybody else, pull away when I try to touch you." It feels good to let this all off her chest. Months and months of trying to figure out what was going on. "Tell me why. I just want to know why."
"I'm a private person-"
"No Simon, that's not what this is." She shakes her head, emotion rising inside her. "You just...you make me feel like you only want me when nobody's looking. Like I'm...like you want to keep me a secret."
Her eyes are glassy because saying it hurts so fucking much, but it needs to be said. It needs to be voiced, he needs to listen and acknowledge-
"You know that's not true, so it shouldn't be a bloody problem-"
"Do I?" A laugh burst out of her, unexpected and short. It's enough to cut him off, cause him to narrow his eyes. "You've never told or indicated that to me. Not once. Not in two years."
"It's common sense. I wouldn't be with you if I didn't want you." She can tell he's trying to stay level, to meet her in the middle but all caution gets thrown to the wind because is he really trying to argue with her on this?
"No, it's not." She insists, trying not to raise her voice as anger bubbles up inside her. Was he not getting it? Not understanding that this was hurting her? That he was hurting her? "Sometimes I-..." She swallows, "Sometimes I'll be having a great time, like today. I'll be laughing and enjoying myself and then I'll glance at you, or try and do something as simple as brush shoulders, and I'll watch you push me away. Or pull away." Her voice waver but she fights to keep it steady. "And it makes me feel miserable because what is it about me that makes my own boyfriend not want to accidentally touch me?"
"Why didn't you tell me before?" He says, hackles raised at being put on the spot like this. Ghost doesn't mean to, but this is all so new to him and the only thing he knows how to do in these rapidly changing situations is to be sharp and jagged and tense. "If you're so miserable, why are you still here?"
"Because I love you!" She cries out. "And I can't help but think that I might never get the same back from you." Her grip on her coat tightens.
There's a beat of silence.
"I never asked you to. You knew what you were getting yourself into."
His words cut through the quiet, as sharp as the blades he keeps strapped to his thigh.
"Oh, fuck you." She whispers. "Don't give me that bullshit. That's not an excuse for not trying-"
"Not trying?" His voice gets slightly louder. "I try every day. I try to be someone you deserve but you're bloody well making it difficult when-"
"Just stop!" She yells over him. "Stop. I'm not asking for something you can't give. I'm just asking for an explanation."
"I can't-"
"You can!" To her dismay, her eyes burn with tears that are bound to fall in a few seconds, but she's too far into it to turn around now. "It's been two fucking years, Simon. Two years. I've never pushed or pressured you, I've listened and sat here and tried to be the one you can come to, but you never do." She sniffles, wiping her tears away roughly.
He stays silent, visibly frustrated but letting her talk.
"Do you know what they say back at base?" She spits out. "About me? They say I've forced you into being with me." A hollow laugh. "That I've got some dirt on you that keeps you quiet, or that I'm just someone you pass the time at night with because everyone thinks that you want nothing to do with me during the day. They talk about why we're still together, why you're still with me when you clearly have no interest." Her tears are long forgotten, left to trail down her cheeks in rivers of hurt. "They say...they say I'm only on the 141 because of our relationship."
And that was what hurt the most. Her own skills undermined like that.
That startles him enough to pull his brows in confusion "I didn't know..."
"Of course you don't, why would they say it in front of the man who looks like he could snap their spines in half?"
She waits for him to speak. To say something, anything, but all he does is stare at her with those half-blank eyes that she can never decipher and it infuriates her because did he not just listen to what she's told him.
"You know what, forget it." She chokes out. "I'm done. I'm fucking done with this." She gestures to them both, vaguely watching his eyes widen with muted panic. Getting shoved into a woodchipper would be less painful than the hurt that tears through her chest, hiccupping on swallowed sobs.
"Hold on-"
"I can't be the only one keeping us both afloat." She reaches behind her for the doorknob. "I don't want that. I love you, Simon. I really do, but it hurts so fucking much when you act like I'm disposable, like you're ashamed of being seen with me."
The door is pulled open by her, and then roughly shoved shut by Simon. He moves quicker than she could register, behind the counter one moment and right in front of her the next. His hand stays firmly on the door, keeping it shut as he leans down to catch her gaze.
"Ashamed is the last thing I am about you." He says quickly, clumsily. "I-...fucking hell that's not right at all, love."
Simon is...he's panicking.
The thought strikes her immediately with the way his chest rises and falls quickly, the lack of that cold clipped grace in his voice.
"I don't care." She chokes on a cry, hands planting themselves firmly on his chest to shove him away. It's like nudging a brick wall. The man is immovable, standing in place with their bodies so close it feels like they're sharing heat. "I'm tired, and you're making it worse so let me go." He grabs her wrists, presses them against himself to keep her in place. His hands are warm, rid of the gloves he usually dons.
She's met with every inch of that scarred face of his. She hadn't noticed but he'd discarded his mask as he'd been rushing around the counter to get to her.
"Listen to me." He breathes, trying to get his thoughts straight and keep her there with him. He can't lose her, can't let her walk out the door because he's afraid that she might never come back. "Please."
It's the last word that pauses her struggle. Simon...he was someone who operated on orders and demands so the frantic and silent plea pushed into the word is enough to make her still for a moment.
And a moment is all he needs.
"I've never..." He thinks for a moment. Never has she seen him look so frazzled. He tries again. "Everyone I've ever loved has been killed." Her eyes widen at the declaration. "My family. My friends...everyone." His breath fans over her face with how he's leaned down, hot so very him. "I think I'm afraid if I show the world I love you it might try and take you from me too." Simon's voice breaks at the end, as if he's voiced something from his nightmares and despite the pain she's feeling the sound slices through her. "And I can't...I can't live with losing you too."
With bated breath, he waits for her to respond. Part of him can't bear to look her in the eyes after the admission but he finds himself staring at her face anyway, drinking in any sign of hope.
Hope. How long has it been since he's felt the warm rays of such a feeling?
Slowly, so slowly it makes his breath hitch, she tugs her hand free on his. For a moment Simon thinks she might push him away again and his heart sinks like a stone, but then her fingertips graze his face, her hands cup his cheeks and suddenly they interlock behind his head, pulling him in.
Simon crushes her into him, tucking her head under his chin with a shuddering breath of relief. He's not lost her, not completely.
Hope.
There was still such a thing for a man like him after all.
"I'm not going anywhere." She mumbles into the crook of his neck, the feeling of his lips moving on his skin sending a shiver up his spine. "I'm so sorry, Simon. If you'd told me that before I would have tried to help-..."
Simon shakes his head immediately, arms tightening around her. "I chose not to tell you. The thought of coming home and seeing you on the ground...bloody...like them." He swallows past the lump in his throat. "Fuck, I'm sorry I hurt you, sweetheart."
Simon didn't apologise often, so when he did that means he knows he's fucked up.
She does not tell him it's alright, that she forgives him or that he's fine. Because he's not. His apology, his honesty doesn't make the months of hurt go away. It still aches at her like before, but this time the ache has a meaning behind it. It has a reason.
They hold each other for a moment, against the door, two people knee-deep in a problem that's been brewing for weeks and weeks, bubbled over the edge in the ugliest way possible.
"I need you to try." She whispers after a moment, the barest of smiles gracing her face when he nods slowly.
"I know." He says simply against her hair. Gently swaying in each other's hold, both are content to stay there for a while, to calm their racing hearts with the knowledge that the other is still there, is real and solid under their hands.
And it's enough.
                                  · · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
Change is a slow trek to an ever extending finish line.
Simon keeps his word. If there's anything it's good at, it's resilience. Though it makes him antsy and paranoid and dare he say slightly nervous to open such a part of him to somebody again, he tries.
He tried because he'd rather saw his own arm off than be the one who gives her a reason to leave. Not her. Not the best thing that's happened to him in years, the person who's managed to wake up Simon after years of being Ghost.
A subtle brush of hands as they walk.
An arm around her shoulder while they drink.
Thighs and sides pressed together as they take their seats on a heli.
The squeeze of her knee from under the table.
It builds and builds into something warm and new and fresh, a feeling that overshadows all the worry he had about the universe having a vendetta against him because if there was one good thing that Simon Riley wanted to keep, it was her.
Their weekend is filled with conversations, real conversations about things they've kept to themselves, worries and concerns, and moments of hesitance. He tries his best, though some words die on his tongue before he can get them out. She pushes him, but never more than he can take. Heart, body, and soul, she knows him like the back of her hand but he's the only one who can truly let her into his mind.
All that aside Simon also has another more personal task to work through once their weekend is over.
After paying some not-so-nice visits to more than a dozen people (to his absolute fury), she never once hears a peep of another disgusting rumour ever again.

“Captain tell me yer lyin” came the quick response of a certain scot. A smile beaming from his face.
“The order came in last week, she’ll be arriving tomorrow. Be prepared.” Price said as they sat in his office. Ghost was leaned back against the farthest wall. The last thing they needed was another Johnny. Another over-eager, and nosy, Scot who couldn’t keep their lips shut.
“Does she know?” Soap said, barely able to contain his excitement.
“Of course she knows Sergeant. She’d been asked to keep quiet for reasons not specified by her superiors” John spoke. Ghost could almost laugh, reasons not specified basically meant avoiding a nuclear reaction when it came to men like Soap.
John went over your file with the men as just across the country lines, you were preparing.
You could feel your hands shaking with nervousness as you packed. You’d double checked your bag before you loaded onto the helicopter. Laswell nodding to you before speaking over the comms,
“Arriving in 5, Sergeant.”
“Copy.” Came your clipped response. You continued to play with your chipped nails even now. Sure, you were excited to see Johnny. But in all honesty when the transfer order came in, you felt nauseous. Why would the 141 need you. Sure you were one of the best in the business but it made no sense. There were more readily available soldiers just as good, if not better than you. Soldiers who didn’t carry a death omen cradled over their head. Soldiers who weren’t-
A loud call of your name rang out through the silence. Shit. You didn’t even know you had landed or that the engine had been turned off. You quickly removed your helmet and grabbed your bags before leaving the helicopter. Your boots felt heavy but before you could even walk across the tarmac, Laswell spoke up.
“Just remember Banshee. You are the best at what you do. Don’t let anybody else convince you of anything else. I believe you are ready.”
You took long strides to keep up with Laswell across the tarmac. The boys were waiting for you at the other side and time seemed to slow as you passed over them.
You recognized them all from the rare photos Johnny showed you during holidays. The older man with the thick facial hair, calm smile, and a permanently attached Fisherman’s hat was to be your new captain. Then your eyes shifted as you glanced up. Ghost. You held back a shiver as you took him in. He was bigger than photos let on, an absolute figure of terror. His piercing eyes cut through you even afar and through that white skull. To his left was Gaz, a beautiful man you’d met a few times over calls with Johnny. Then there was Johnny. An absolute picture of joy as he practically buzzed with excitement at seeing you.
“John, meet your newest member, Sergeant Banshee.” came Laswell’s greeting. You took his hand to shake as he nodded.
“Pleasure to meet you Sergeant.” He said as he shook your hand tightly. A good handshake for an even greater man.
“This is Lt. Ghost” John said as he nodded to the towering man on his left side.
“Pleasure to meet you sir.” You nodded and stuck out your hand to greet him. He nodded to you instead of shaking your hand.
“Sorry about the Lieutenant. He isn’t one for touch.” The kind brown-eyed man to his left spoke. “Nice to meet you in person, Banshee.”
You nodded as you took his hand and just as soon as you let go. Johnny picked you up and spun you around. Bear hugging you as if the second he let go, you’d vanish. A soft giggle left your mouth as you felt your cheeks pull into a smile.
“And of course you know Mactavish.” came John’s voice. You could see his eye crinkle into a smile.
“Yer here! Yer here! Gimme yer bags, Banny” Johnny said as he put you down. You felt your cheeks dust at his nickname of your already known callsign. You handed them over as he kept on rambling.
“This is gonna be great. You and me back together again, aye just like the old days when we used to terrorize-” Johnny was cut off by Ghost.
“That’ll do, Soap.” he said as the group turned to go inside. You held your face from making a frown as you felt cut off by your new lieutenant’s rudeness.
The group chuckled as they all went inside. Johnny bumping your shoulder and giving you a wink. You rolled your eyes at his shamelessness.
After settling your bags into your own room. You made your way to the conference room.
“I’ve let the Captain have the pleasure of reading over your file, and Johnny could barely stop bragging about you but maybe you’d like to introduce your own file.” Laswell spoke. There was an understanding as she handed it to you.
You stood up and cleared your voice but no words came out. Ghost watched you silently, almost shocked you weren’t bursting at the seams to talk unlike your mirror image.
“Maybe I’ll just answer your questions.”
“What are your specialties?” Price said, understanding the intimidating environment that his men established, even if they didn’t try to.
“Close combat, infiltration, stealth, I can also speak a few languages and I’m a pretty good combat medic” You spoke softly. Ghost was surprised to hear that you were the opposite of Johnny. Quiet, calculated.
“Preferred weapons?”
“Knives or handguns, but I can do with whatever you choose to give me.” you spoke, nodding as if reassuring yourself.
“What languages can you speak?” Gaz voice rung out curiously.
“English, Spanish, Russian, French, German, and a little bit of arabic. Im working on mandarin” You spoke with a nod to him.
“Steamin’ jesus yer head hurt with all that knowledge?” Soap said as he playfully pushed you.
“Haud yer wheesht” You hissed softly to him as he snickered.
Ghost nodded, There she is, he thought to himself. He didn’t know why you put on this mask even when in the comfort of your family but he decided he’d find that out later.
The two of you then began quietly teasing as Price pulled away Laswell outside.
“Are you sure she’s ready? I mean, shit, what she endured-”
“Exactly John, she endured it. She did her time, and now she’s back and ready. I would not have brought her here, especially, so close to Johnny if I did not trust her.”
“I’m trusting you Laswell”
“Have I ever given you a reason not to?” Laswell shot back with a knowing look.
If Ghost heard anything from the small crack in the door, he didn’t let anyone know. But at the very least, one could know that you had piqued his interest.
“Alright, everyone dismissed.” John spoke as he came back in.
“Just in time for lunch. Jesus, I’m starvin’ here Cap” the scot said as he dragged you from your spot.
“Yer always hungry Johnny-boy” You spoke as he dragged you down the hall, your accent slipping in the comfort of your twin.
As your form escaped his vision, the only thing Ghost could ponder was what a quiet girl like you did to get a brazen and disturbing callsign such as Banshee.

Simon 'Ghost' Riley x Military!Reader
Let's be real, Simon didn't know you were in the military. You two met at a pub and hit it off pretty well. Granted, you were sick of him staring at you and decided to strike up a conversation. From there, it went well. He took you home after closing time and you offered to let him stay the night. He did, but you two didn't hook up. Instead, you two cuddled in the dark and told each other about yourselves. Job occupation never came up so you kept it at that. You were actually worried to tell Simon what you did for a living. You were afraid he would see your job as an excuse to ignore and cheat on him due to past experiences with other guys who were way too unstable and insecure.
Cut to seven months later, you're on base when you get called to your Captain's office. Your heart dropped because you didn't do anything to be called into his office until he slid you a manilla folder and announced you were being transferred to a different task force. You were shocked, but accepted the transfer. You were excited to go home to your boyfriend and tell him about your day. You still never told Simon you were in the military, let alone a Sergeant. You lied and told him you had an office job that requires a lot of business trips. Simon didn't care as he told you he had to leave home for long periods of time too.
It was on your two month anniversary that he confessed he was a part of the military. You were fine with that and you had a suspicion due to all the scars you've seen. Over the course of the next few months you two made it work. Sometimes your deployments lined up to where you two would both be gone at around the same time so you weren't stuck at home missing your boyfriend since you had work to do.
The next day you got on base you hid your face with a mask. No way did you want to run into Simon. You walked into briefing room and there stood Captain John Price. Introductions were made as you listened to your new Captain talk about everybody on the team. He told you about Gaz and his interrogation skills, Soap and how he's a wildcard of a demolitions expert, and that left Ghost. Ghost was a mystery, Price didn't say much about him other that he was quiet and expected a lot out of fresh meat on the team. That didn't bother you though, you were used to hardass soldiers always trying to make recruits break under pressure.
When the rest of the task force poured into the room, you froze. Ghost was intimidating yes, but there was an odd familiarity about him. You couldn't pinpoint what it was until he looked at you. You were so glad your mask covered half of your face as you could feel your cheeks growing warm. Those deep brown eyes...you knew of only one person who had those kind of eyes...Simon. "Didn't know we had a lady joining us Cap'n." Ghost says to Price. You've heard Simon talk before, but Ghost? Ghost sounded more rough and downright serious. Can't deny it made your blush deepen.
The briefing went on for what felt like forever until Price told everyone that they were scheduled to leave tomorrow morning. You got up and felt a hand on your shoulder. You whipped around to see Soap, his cheeky smile and all. "Say lass, what's with the mask?" He asked. That's when Gaz joined in, "Yeah, are you another Ghost we gotta deal with?" You straight up laughed so hard the guys looked concerned. "Like I'm that heartless." You reply. Both Gaz and Soap let out almost a sigh of relief and laugh with you. "Did you guys think I was going to be that cutthroat? Geez, I should've brought my good knife with me to show off." You kept talking to the two Sergeants and became instant friends. What you didn't know is that Ghost heard what you said, and he wasn't too happy about spending however long it was with you.
You all piled into the plane to fly out that morning. You called Simon before getting on the plane to tell him you were going on a "business trip". Ghost was still at his bunk when his phone rings. He picks it up and sees his pretty bird on the caller ID and answers so quick he almost hangs up.
"Hi lovie, are you okay?" He asks. You chuckle at how he was always so worried about you.
"Yes love, I'm fine. Just letting you know I'm about to board a plane. Got a meeting to attend in the states." You lie.
"Al'ight, safe travels baby. I'm gonna need all the luck I can get for this mission. New Sergeant is gonna piss me off." He explains.
But, you're the new Sergeant. How'd you piss him off?
"I'm sorry baby, what did he do? Also, 'going to'? He hasn't done anything yet has he?" You ask, curious to what he'll say.
"Not a 'he', love. It's a 'she'. She called me heartless." From there, he goes on and on about how she hides behind a mask like he does and how she already hit it off with Kyle and Johnny. You knew Simon was insecure, but that bad? This man has done lost his mind.
"I'm sorry love. I'm sure things will get better. I love you." You say.
"Love you too birdy. I'll see you in about a month." He says as you both hang up.
You walk onto the plane where the other guys are waiting, except Ghost. "Where is that fucker?" Soap groans. "I'm sure he'll be here soon." You say, sounding hopeful. Sure enough, Ghost practically runs onto the plane and finds a seat...right next to you. "Almost late LT." Gaz laughs. Price shakes his head and lets the pilot know they're ready to fly. On the plane, Ghost shuffles in his seat worse than Soap. You reach in your vest and pull out a small stress ball. "Here" is all you say as you gesture for Ghost to take it. He looks at you in confusion before taking the ball from your hand. It calms him down and he makes sure you get it back before you land.
On the ground, you guys make your way to the safe house. Once there, you all take time making sleeping arrangements. You offer to stand watch for tonight, but Ghost told you he'd do it and that you needed rest. You took it as Ghost paying you back for the stress ball so you let him win. Later that evening, Soap hit the ground running with questions for you. "What's your callsign lass? Sure you don't want us calling you 'lass' or 'lady' all month." You laughed and answered. "It's Grasshopper." Gaz looked up from cleaning his gun, intrigued. Soap was armed with more questions. Ghost stayed in the corner, observing. Price smiled a little as he smoked his cigar. "How'd you get that as your callsign?" Gaz asked. Soap looked at him and then nodded his head. "Well when I was stationed on my first op. We were running from enemy soldiers after a tripwire got, well, tripped. They didn't follow us though, they shot at us from a building. We hid in a field to avoid the gunshots. It was quiet, when all of a sudden I seen a grenade land in our area. I jumped over to it, picked it up, and threw it back towards enemy lines. It exploded as soon as it hit the ground in front of the building. Killed a few men that day." You explained. "Okay, but why Grasshopper?" Soap asked. You sighed. "Well, after I threw the grenade back. I was jumping up and down in celebration that My team and I didn't die. In a field. Where there was grass. Hence the name Grasshopper."
The guys looked at you in amazement, except Ghost because you couldn't read his expressions. "Good to know Sergeant." Says Price. "That's amazing! Definitely gotta see your throw in action, huh Grassy?" Said Soap as he elbows your arm. You actually laugh at the new take on your callsign.
Ghost sits quietly in the corner. He now had a name for the thorn in his side for next month or so. It's not that Ghost hates you because of small, petty things. No. He doesn't like the idea of catching feelings for you....again, but he doesn't know that. He missed his quiet, soft-spoken girlfriend, and you were making it difficult for him to even remember her. You were confident, loud when need be, and you stand your ground. Ghost didn't want to interact too much with you. Didn't want to feel like he was betraying his lovely bird back home just by talking to you.
Little does he know, you and his girlfriend are one in the same....and he was about to find out.

Bully!Kyle would be soo-
Gaz x Reader tw: reader is pathetic, public humiliation, bullying
he's a pretty boy, so of course he would be popular. which means that, if he didn't like someone, everyone would too.
but he wouldn't appear to be mean of course. he still smiled whenever he saw you, even though it didn't reach his eyes, which darkened as he looked you up and down. judging you, you think.
unaware that he was looking at you with other intentions..
he'd approach you with his mates, surrounded you like a poor little mouse.
his words were sweet, uttered in such a suave voice that could make anyone dance to it's tune.
and dance they did, reveling around your pathetic self.
he complimented you a lot, but it feels.. wrong. backhanded.
pointing out your insecurities in a way that made you unable to frown or the others would deem you a bitch.
so you bit your lip. held your tongue and your tears.
but you were only human..
you could only take so much.
tried to excuse yourself and walked around them.. ducking your flushed cheeks from their stares. oblivious to anything else..
unsuspecting of his intention until you felt him bump you with a soft 'sorry'. and you yelped as you crashed into a table. the content fell with you, sweet tea drenching your pretty outfit..
soft fabric darkened, sticking onto your curves like a second skin. the tears you've been holding back started to spill as you heard the other chuckle.
while him, the culprit of all of this, had the audacity to smile as he helped you stand. cooing at you in pity as he tugged on your clothes. whispering in your ear about how you being a poor lil thing..
it's okay, he'll take care of you yeah?
licking his lips at the way your nipples pebbled underneath the fabric, jaw clenching as his wide pupils trailed to your flushed cheeks, wet from tears.
you'd get cold like this, luv.. let me help take them off
relishing your complaints and struggle as he started undressing you right then and there, in front of everyone

You couldn’t stop shaking. The adrenaline, the pain, the miles you had to run to escape— you knew, subconsciously at least, the crash your body experienced would be bad but you didn’t think it would be like this. The concrete wall you were wedged against kept you from falling over but the rough surface was like thousands of little blades slicing into your back. You felt hyper-aware of everything around you, from the smell of gunpowder from the explosion that clung to your clothes to the way your captain was breathing heavily from his own corner of the safehouse.
Without meaning to, you focused on the older man, needing some semblance of comfort that his presence usually gave you as your captain and man you endlessly admired. A dark pink flush colouring the pale skin of his neck and cheeks, blooming out from his unkempt facial hair that was slowly growing into a salt-speckled beard. His eyes were squeezed shut, accentuating the deep smile lines that seemed to grow more prominent every year. He was hunched over, hands on his knees, somehow folding the mass of his muscular and hardened body into a tight ball leaning against the opposite corner of the room. Rusty brown blood was smeared up his left arm and onto the limp hat still somehow perched on his head.
You tried to move your legs as your nerves buzzed angrily, but instead, you crumpled to the floor with a whimper. A flash of burning pain shot up your side, nestling into the back of your skull like a migraine. The world swam as you parted your chapped lips to call out to him, but no sound escaped you. Something warm pooled into your hand.
“Fuck.” Price groaned, finally straightening up. Even through the loud ringing in your ears, you could hear the way his joints popped as he stood. “Fuck.” He repeated, something in his back shifting. You knew somehow that he was thinking of how it had all gone sideways — there was nothing there, no target, no intel, only a bomb and a gunman with impeccable aim.
Black dots began to bloom across your vision. You had known that this mission was risky and you were nowhere near as skilled as it required but Price needed your knowledge and you were not one to say no to your captain. Perhaps you should have insisted that he take Gaz because now, as your fingers dig into your ribs where your flesh had been sliced open by a wayward bullet, you knew you would only be a burden to him.
Your boots caught on the rough ground, keeping your knees up and bent, pushing your hand harder against the steady flow of blood.
Golden sunlight streamed through the ratty curtains at the front of the house, bathing Price in a warm glow. You could take some peace in the view of him, his solidness filling your tunnelling vision. “John.” The syllables of his name rolled over your chapped lips like syrup, sticking behind your teeth and clinging to your wavering breath.
Blue eyes snapped up, catching the light. Your lips quirked up as if to reassure him that you were fine or maybe that he shouldn’t have to worry about you but then the blackness curled around you, pulling you under as the night closed in.
——————
Pain was the best alarm clock you found. It rocketed through you, searing your nerves like acid and forcing you into consciousness even when your brain so desperately tried to keep you asleep.
“Fuck. C’mon you gotta wake up.” The whimper of agony that rattled through your dry throat seemed to redouble the pressure on your stomach and the vengeful searing of your torn flesh pushed in deeper. “Talk to me sergeant, I sure as shit can’t do this alone.”
“Thought you preferred when I shut up, cap.” Your eyes rolled around your head but you still spoke, unwilling to disobey him even now. You gasped as he down pressed, forcing even more pain into the softest parts of yourself and yet, Price’s constitution didn’t waver.
“I only do when you’re bein mouthy during training.” Your fingers searched for anything to cling to when he pulled your body up and into his own. The smell of cigars and the tang of his sweat washing over the pain, letting you feel a tinge of something other than the slice of the bullet that had cut right through your side.
You slumped into his arms, letting the older man lift you from the ground without any more fanfare. “You love it.” You gasped as he readjusted his hold on you, sending another jolt to your overworked nerves.
Price grunted, the movement of his chest forcing your head to loll into the crook of his neck, your nose pressing against his fast pulse. “Sure as hell like it more than Soap’s jabbering.” He mumbled, the deepness of his voice rumbling across your pallid skin. Your body jerked with each hesitant step he took towards the only other room in the dilapidated safe house.
“That’s good to know sir.” You groaned, your voice wavering with the effort to stay awake.
Moonlight leaked into what you could barely call the bedroom; an ancient mattress rested on a hastily constructed bed frame that looked like it would give out with the slightest weight put on it. But Price didn’t hesitate to lay you down flat onto the creaking springs, his calloused hands tracing the length of your body as if he were checking that you were still physically there and not one of the ghosts that haunted him.
Your teeth sank into your lower lip, slicing through the cracked flesh to keep your screams at bay. Your stomach stretched uncomfortably, as if your skin was too tight upon your bones. Price settled to his knees beside you, thick fingers plucking at your blood-soaked shirt before tenderly pulling it over your head, finally seeing the extent of your injury.
“You didn’t say you were hurt.” He didn’t sound like himself, his words were as unsure and brittle as the wood beneath you. He sounded human.
You let him press your skin back together without protest, barely even wincing as he doused your skin in disinfectant from the small first-aid kit you religiously carried with you. You briefly thought about how he would’ve had to practically feel you up in order to find it in the discreet pocket in your vest next to your heart.
“Didn’t realise till we stopped.” He fell silent, his mind far away as he began to stitch the wound closed in the way he did when he was overwhelmed with rage. Tears pricked at your waterline. It was almost pathetic, you took a bullet and kept running, you faced death without so much as a sniffle but the second you realised that your captain was mad at your incompetence, you wanted to cry like a little girl.
If he had brought someone else with him, the mission would’ve been a success. You knew that too well, you were barely a part of the 141, an unwanted addition to the team because of politics and a favour Laswell owed you. It was clear that no matter how hard you worked, you wouldn’t be able to measure up to your teammates and this only proved it. “‘M sorry sir, it’s all my fault.” His head snapped up, blue eyes wide with something you couldn’t quite read. “I should've been more aware of my surroundings, of the mission. I’ll send in my transfer request when we return.”
“No.” With a particularly rough tug on the medical thread, Price tied off the stitch and shoved the supplies back into the bag he had pulled them from.
“But I messed up, the mission was a failure because of me.” You could have begged. You didn’t find the intel on Graves that should’ve been there, nor the bomb that was so plainly sitting outside the warehouse you had broken into. You didn’t see the sniper scope on the roof, didn’t listen to your gut. You had just followed Price like a lost duckling, watching his back in the most literal sense. You have to leave the 141, you have to leave him.
“No it didn’t. Mission was fucked from the start, just unlucky.” Price stood, his joints creaking audibly as he did so. He towered over you, casting a massive shadow across your broken body. “It happens.”
“But if Gaz-“
“No. Wouldn’t ‘ave mattered if the whole fuckin team was here. It was a trap and you got hurt. It’s my fault, I’m your captain, I didn’t keep you safe.” His face crumpled. “I didn’t keep you safe.”
Soft taps of rain onto the tin roof echoed hollowly through the room, steadily getting louder and louder until it was a white noise. Price’s shoulders fell with the rain until he was curled in on himself, his head in his hands, looking so uncharacteristically lost. The dulled pain in your side didn’t stop you from sitting up and shuffling closer to the man.
Proximity and closeness were two vastly different things in the special forces; you were constantly in the personal space of dozens of soldiers a day, you saw each other at your worst yet there was always a mental wall that had to remain standing through it all. But now, as the shock began to waver and the adrenaline faded, there was nothing left to keep you apart. Price was always closed off, he had to be when he shouldered so much responsibility. He was a captain, a soldier, a tool of the British government, in that order.
Your shaking hands grasped at his own, making him look at you. In the grayscale of the storm descending around you, he was just a man.
“I kind of knew what I signed up for when I joined the SAS in the first place.” You attempted to joke but the smile died on your lips when his grip tightened. The bedsprings screamed in protest as he planted his knee in between your own, guiding you to lay back as he followed. “Price-“
“You said my name.” Your eyes widened but before you could begin a tirade of apologies, he let his knuckles run along the swell of your cheek. “You were dying and all I could think was how you had never said my name before and how badly I needed to hear you say it again.”
“It was just a graze.” You muttered and he grimaced.
“But it wasn’t. I chose to bring you here and I put you in danger just so I could have you close. I’m damn selfish and you got hurt. I almost lost you, I’m never letting that happen again.” His nose nudged against yours. “I’m never letting you go.”
As the bright white light of a lightning strike flashed across your bodies, Price finally pressed his lips to yours, silencing the roar of pain in your stomach and the venom of doubts in your mind. It didn’t begin soft or gentle, his tongue immediately delved into your mouth, stealing your breath. His shirt rode up, the skin of his lower stomach connecting with yours as he continued to remind you that your place was beside him.
“You’ll always be mine.” He grabbed your hips and, mindful of your injury, lifted them up so he could settle your legs onto his own hips before reaching for your belt.
“I’m yours John.”
