steph catley x child (sunshine)
plot: Steph takes you home
warnings: mention of deaths
series master list: here
Tumblr media
When Lara passed you cried, cried like hell.
To you Lara was the world, your only world, she was what brightened your day whenever you visited and you were let out of the orphanage, even if it was only for about two hours or so.
But near the end of Lara’s fight, you started to share your world
With Steph.
You knew your sister liked her so you decided to like her, even if she didn’t play for her favorite team.
But now you were packing your bags with the help of one of the older kids.
Steph stood out the front of the door with Jen Beattie, one of her closest friends “Steph stop shaking you’ll be fine” Jen reassured the Australian “I know it’s just-“
“I just want her to have somebody, I promised Lara”
Jen squeezed her friend's shoulder “You still haven’t cried yet?” she asked and she crossed her head “I don’t know why”.
The doors opened to who Jen assumed to be the director of the Orphanage who welcomed them in, Steph was familiar with the woman as she greeted her with a laugh and a smile.
“How is she?” Steph asked the director as they sat down and waited for you to come down with your bags.
“She’s still upset, it’s the worst at six because that’s usually when she would go see her but it’s getting better, she is excited to see you” The woman smiled and Steph nodded “Did we finish all the files, and papers?” she asked and Steph nodded eagerly and Jen pulled them out of her bag for her.
“Now we just have a month trial and we get child services to come and ask her about you and the house life, especially since you have such an important job,” The director told Steph as she nodded, already knowing this information.
Jen watched her friend with a smile, she had seen Steph determined before but right now she looked so determined to give you a good life.
“Stephy” A sniff was heard behind the two Arsenal players as they both turned around quickly to reveal you, your brunette hair curled by one of the older orphans as you chose one of your prettiest dresses, one that Steph bought you when Lara was still alive.
She was out and about with Mini shopping for Harper when she saw the little yellow sundress and thought of you naturally as you always put a smile on everyone's face, like a little ray of sunshine.
But it was slightly cold so you paired it with a white cardigan.
“Hey, Sunshine!” Steph smiled before you waddled over to her, your dress flapping around before lifting you “You look pretty” she gushed and you looked down at her outfit “You look cool too!” you bashfully yelled, truly excited to see her after she finally told you that she was going to adopt you.
Steph had put effort into her outfit, wanting to look sophisticated when she picked you up, she had straightened her hair and wore a suit jacket with matching pants with a white singlet underneath.
Jen had teased her a little but she didn’t care, she was seeing her sunshine.
“Now I have to ask for protocol but Sunshine, do you want to stay with Stephanie?”
You jumped on Stephs knee’s nodding dramatically “Use your words Sunshine” Steph told you and you looked back to the director “Yes please”.
“Okay” the Director smiled, happy you were getting your happy ending with your circumstances “Let’s get you two out then” she laughed and Steph felt the butterflies in her stomach jump around like crazy, Jen got up to grab your bags, there were only two.
With her free hand, she took photos of you two that you both would grow to cherish.
The drive to Stephs was something you will never forget, both your smiles were huge as you asked questions about little things, Sometimes asking Jen about little things, especially asking her how it felt accidentally slamming Alexandra Popp which she was shocked to know but smiled when you told her that Lara was a huge arsenal fan.
“Who was her favorite player?” Jen asked and you put your finger to your chin thinking “Kimmy!” you yelled after remembering “But it was Jill before she moved” You nodded and Steph smiled “You have an amazing memory Sunshine” She complimented you and you nodded.
“It’s my superpower, now I get to remember Lara even more!”
Jen looked to Steph to see if any tears had fallen but no, she just nodded solemnly as she finally drove to her house.
When you got out of the kiddy chair that Steph had set up weeks ago, Steph held you in her arms and gave her keys to Jen to open the door when she opened the door Steph let you down, free to adventure which you did.
“Have you told her about Calvin?” Jen asked as she heard a squeal from you “I thought I put him outside” Steph's eyes popped.
“You have a doggy door”.
“Steph quickly followed your squeal but let out a laugh when she saw you and a still puppy Calvin playing with each other, you on your knees as he licked your face.
“Thankfully she likes dogs” Jen smiled as she turned the corner.
“Do you want to see your room?” Steph asked you and you looked at her with a grin “Do I have to share?” you asked and Steph crossed her head “Nope, you get it all to yourself and it’s a big girl bed”
“I’m a big girl” you smiled and Steph nodded “Exactly”.
You ran to your room with a smile on your face and jumped on your bed with a big yelp as Steph helped you up “Do you like it?” Steph asked as you looked around to see the room.
It had white walls and your draws were wooden but you had little yellow decorations as you told Steph your favorite colour was yellow “I love it!” you yelled, you kept on yelling, your excitement taking over you.
It was later in the day, after Jen went home at six o’clock you ran from the TV room into the kitchen where Steph was cooking pasta in your new pyjamas she bought you.
“Can we see Lara now?”
Steph dropped the wooden spoon in the pot at your words and quickly turned off the gas as she turned to you.
You had been so excited and happy all day that you had forgotten your troubles “We can’t do that Sunshine” Steph told you, bending down to be level with you “Why-“ you stopped your sentence as your memory finally caught up with you “oh yeah” you frowned, a tear escaping your eye which Steph wiped away quickly “I forgot” you cried a bit more.
“that’s okay” Steph eased you as she felt her eyes starting to water from your mistake “I forgot” you repeated and buried yourself into Steph's neck “It’s okay Sunshine” she squeezed your tights as tears began to flow down her cheeks.
Lara was truly gone.
Steph was all you had left.

Batman's Relationships with the "Batfam"
Alfred: Technically Alfred is his father-figure, but because Alfred actively chose to remain being Bruce's butler, and repressed his own issues, that just kneecapped Bruce's ability to heal, and enabled his worst impulses. Yes, they love each other, dearly. No, they will not communicate this unless they are on the brink of death.
Dick: I know, there's this whole thing with "eldest son". But first, Bruce was only in his early 20s when he took in Dick. And second, Bruce would have been actively avoiding trying to replace Dick's father, similar to Alfred. Their relationship is of close friends, and it isn't until they're both adults, well over a decade later, that either would even consider using familial terms to acknowledge each other. But that friendship is always the first level of their connection.
Barbara: There was hero worship that quickly died once Barbara got to see more of what Bruce is actually like. But there's still mutual respect and friendship, and Barbara is one of the few people Bruce actively listens to the input of.
Jason: Jason was the second Robin, but he was the first child who could accurately be called Bruce's son. When he meets Jason, Bruce is in a more balanced place in his life, he's on the path of healing, and he's willing to take in Jason not because he recognizes someone who's suffered the same way he has, like with Dick, but because he can help him. There's outright familial affection between Bruce and Jason, in ways we don't see with almost any other Batfam character. And then Jason dies, and Bruce's heart is shattered. Every single relationship Bruce has going forward is informed more by Jason's death than his parents'.
Tim: Tim and Bruce are a student and teacher. In many ways, Tim is Bruce's favorite student, but they aren't seeking family in each other, but that doesn't make their relationship any less deep or important to each other.
Cass: While a lot of comics tend to ignore or forget that Bruce outright adopted Cassandra to prove she would always have a home and family, the greatest truth is that Cass is Bruce's successor. Of all the batfam, she is the one who actively says she wants to take Bruce's place one day, and she believes in the cause of Batman stronger than anyone else. She was given a choice between cruelty and compassion, and like Bruce before her, she chose compassion. She's growing and improving, learning both from her own mistakes and from Bruce's, and ultimately, will be a greater hero than Batman before her.
Stephanie: A Mess. Not familial, but definitely a mess. Mostly because Steph's a victim of Batman writing at the time, and it never really got addressed to offer any improvement to her relationship with Bruce.
Damien: Damien is Bruce's son, but their relationship is fraught to say the least. Between being raised by the League, then Bruce being "dead" and Damien being raised/guided by Dick for a good amount of time, there's a lot of love there, but Damien is a victim of Bruce's decades of emotional repression and trauma in ways none of the other Batfam are, and both struggle to communicate, despite trying their best.
Duke, Luke, and Harper: All of these are colleagues at various levels of connection to Bruce. Duke is a younger vigilante just starting out, and Bruce is a grizzled veteran taking him under his wing, but not outright mentoring him the way he did the Robins. There's respect and teaching there, but not in the same way.
Kate Kane: They're cousins. They argue a lot.

I’m doing one more reading wrap up for 2022 because I want to share some of my favorite reads with all of you so here are my top 10 books of 2022 in no particular order! (Note: this does not include any of alice oseman’s work because they would be the majority of the list, and this list does not include any Harper Collins books because whilst I have no influence from my silly little blog we do not cross picket lines here <3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1) Frizzy by Claribel A. Ortega
I do not know how to explain to anyone what this book means to me. Whilst I am white and not explicitly represented via this book, I have really funky hair that I was judged for throughout my life and can be really fucking frustrating to deal with. This book made me feel through some solace that I was not alone in that struggle. In a lot of ways, it healed my inner child and my current self because I was seeing those scenes of her mom struggling to do her hair and I saw myself and how much of a struggle doing my hair used to be. This book meant the world to me. And is only one of two graphic novels on this list (considering how many graphic novels I read I’m surprised there aren’t more).
2) What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo
My therapist gave me this book to read, and I had no idea when I picked it up how impactful this would be for me. I know the popular memoir of the year was Jennette McCurdy’s, and I did read that and found it to be absolutely heart breaking and wonderfully written. But this book changed me. It was one of the best books I have ever read. The content is not light, but as someone who has diagnosed PTSD and has been told they have CPTSD by their therapist- this book fucking wrecked me and showed me that I am worthy of love and that my trauma does not need to define me. This book is so important to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3) In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado
This is another memoir about trauma, specifically dealing with domestic abuse this time, but it’s done in a very unique way. I recently read House of Leaves, which is a fictional horrorish book and it reminded me pretty strongly of this book when I read it. The way in which Machado utilizes the house to be representative of this terrible situation was really well written. As someone who has existed in a house in a not great situation, this book really sat with me.
4) This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
I know that I am so basic for this one, but it is genuinely so good. This book is so hit or miss for people, and it absolutely hit for me. The storytelling, the relationship, the heart break. This story killed me. I devoured it in such a short amount of time, and it has yet to leave my brain. I love this book so much. It is one of my all time favorites.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5) Chemical Gardening for the Amateur by Charles Henry Connors and Victor A. Tiedjens
This is such a random pick I know, but part of why I loved this book so much is that it is a book about chemical gardening from 1939 that I got from a local bookstore where they had miss marked it as $3.00 and they gave it to me for that price (it is definitely worth more than that). But it is so cool. Reading about how these techniques that we still use today were being developed and showing how people can use them for their own gardens and plants is so fucking neat????!! Also there were so many pretty pictures in it. I read this fairly quickly whilst at my girlfriend’s house because I just hyper focused on it and loved every moment of it.
6) When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller
This is one of my favorite middle grade books that I have ever read (like genuinely). Part of why this book hit me so hard is that my grandmother was at the hospital the exact day that I read this. I had genuinely no clue what this book was about, and it relating to that type of event made this book hit even closer to home. It was a really good story overall though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7) The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green
As someone who has OCD, it was so interesting reading a memoir (ish) by someone else who has OCD and seeing the overlapping in our general thinking patterns. I am a fan of John Green’s work (Turtles All The Way Down is a super important book for me), but this collection of short stories or remarks was just something that I really enjoyed reading. It was not like earth shattering, but it was a really good book.
8) Sick Kids in Love by Hannah Moskowitz
I love chronic illness representation so much. This was probably my favorite romance that I read this year. Whilst I do not have the specific conditions that the MCs had, the general like problems that come from having chronic illnesses was something that I significantly related to. And getting to see a romance where those aspects were included is something that was really really nice for me. It was also just a really fun teen romance book (I am a sucker for romcoms).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9) The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen
This is literally the book that I recommend to people when they tell me that they want to try a graphic novel. It is like a middle grade to early young adult read, but it is one of my favorite graphic novels. It does a really cool thing with utilizing traditional Vietnamese fairy tales or folk stories to weave this story between modern day and the past. It was a really interesting way to showcase generational trauma, and a new way of discussing the immigrant experience that I have not seen before. It is also queer representation! And the art style is absolutely brilliant!
10) Yerba Buena by Nina LaCour
I am a Nina LaCour bitch. Her work is always outstanding in my opinion (at least her newest releases). I really enjoy the way in which she weaves a story together. I very much so enjoyed this like non-traditional take on a romance centric story. For me, a lot of books with a romance centric plot line have become just romcoms and whilst there is nothing wrong with that, I prefer having some substance to the plot in a lot of instances. I personally feel like LaCour does that really well. This book was so good in my opinion.
I know this is a long post, so I won’t make it longer. But thank you if you read my thoughts at all. And I hope whatever reading you partake in is fulfilling for you (or whatever media you choose to consume)!!

I believe you already past the season when this episode is... that one storyline when a kid is being dropped off at the hospital because he's sick, they call his parents and they're super religious people who are going to "pray for him" instead of getting him treated. Eventually he comes back, he's blind and Alex Karev treats him. I believe his mother was taking him to the hospital because she didn't want to confront her religious husband. It was heartbreaking because in one scene the kid cries and says he's been praying and nothing changed and he's begging for help. :(
Oh and Eliza Minnick doesn't want Alex to treat him because he's going to get in trouble if he does it without the parent's consent.
ANYWAY... How would K/C, E & T react to that kind of situation?
Hey Nonn! I wanted to wait until I watched the episode, and I'm watching it right now. lol
OK... first... the episode has my blood pressure up. As a very, very proud agnostic, I really abhor religion. Seeing something like this, it doesn't help that at all. I want to strangle the father (I'm not done with the episode yet, but right now, I want to strangle him.)
Now, how would my characters handle this situation? It would be so, so hard for all of them. Here is how I think they'd react.
Tobias: His reaction would evolve over time. Before he and Casey were together, and even in the early stages of them being together, he'd be angry, he'd try to convince them, but when push came to shove, he'd follow the letter of the law. He'd also divorce himself from the situation as much as possible and put it out of his mind. If it crept up into his mind, he'd remind himself it was the child's parent's call.
After Casey, he starts to feel a little more. He'd still handle things the same way, but it would not be so easy for him to put it out of his mind. But after his daughters are born, this would be a huge moral dilemma for him. He believes in God, he believes in prayer, but he believes in science more. And, as a father, who would do anything - absolutely anything - to help his daughters, the idea of this would be unfathomable to him and would drive him mad. Still, in the end, he'd follow the parent's wishes because that's what needs to be done.
Ethan: His reactions would be similar to Tobias's, but Ethan doesn't believe in God. So, to him, the idea that people would be this stupid is infuriating. I'm sure he'd cross the line in what he said or did in trying to convince them, and I can see someone with a cooler temper (Harper? Naveen?) having to intercede. Ethan would go to Donahue's or home and drink far too much Scotch. He'd ruminate about how parents can be so heartless, and he'd be reminded of Louise.
I think his reaction would stay pretty constant throughout his life, but after he's with Kaycee, he would lean more on her to get through than he would the Scotch. She, of course, would be upset as well (more below), but as a fellow medical professional, she'd be able to help him through.
Casey/Kaycee: Since they're the same character at their core, they'd handle things the same way with small caveats. It would be incredibly upsetting to them. She'd do everything in her power to convince them, and when she couldn't, she'd look for every loophole possible. I could absolutely see her handling things the way Alex/Stephanie did ... if she saw a window of opportunity, she'd jump on it, even if it put her career at risk.
As a novice doctor, this would be very hard for her to accept, and it would be nearly impossible for her to do nothing about it. But as she gained more experience, she learned how to cope. It would still be very upsetting, but she'd do all she could, and then she'd have to accept it. But it would haunt her.
And holy shit, the next episode has me all kinds of shaken. OOFFH.
Thanks for the ask, Nonny!

Always be my plus one - part 3
Tumblr media
Ok, look, it's 4 am, there are going to be typos, and we're just going to have to deal with it. I also tried to find a gif that was Tyson and Cale but I couldn't find one in the gif insert thing on here so I just went with this one (it feels weird to change it up but like, oops)
I make no promises that you aren't going to be mad at me for this part so have fun !
This is shorter than the last part, coming in at around 5k words.
The only warnings I have here are implied sex.
Translations for the Italian in here: "tu sei uno stronzo" - you're an ass(hole)
stronzino - little asshole
Also want to thank @justjosty @zinka8 @hockeylvr59 @hockeywocs anons and I'm sure I'm forgetting people for helping me write this part but ily all I'm just dumb and tired
Read the previous part here!

Valentine’s Day
The Feast Day of St. Valentine is traditionally celebrated in the Western Catholic Church on February 14, to honor the patron saint of love. Though not traditionally celebrated as a Catholic holiday, millions of people celebrate the day of love with those who mean the most to them. While pessimists of the day say it’s a ‘holiday made up by greeting card companies,’ approximately 190 million Valentine’s Day cards are sent in the United States alone, not including cards given by school children to their classmates. Couples enjoy the holiday with a romantic night out, presents, flowers, chocolates, etc., while those who don’t have someone or don’t care do whatever they want without the pressure of living up to a holiday that doesn’t mean very much in the grand scheme of things.
=============
February 12, 2022
“Where are you going tonight?” Matthew’s voice came through his younger sister’s phone. He had called early in the week to see if Anne could babysit Harper so he and Stephanie could do something for Valentine’s Day without having to shell out an extravagant amount of money on a sitter.
“I’m, uh,” Anne hesitates, “going out with Tyson. Sorry.” She hears Matthew let out a sigh on the other end. “Hey, stronzo, why don’t you ask Lucy? Her and Jason never do anything on Valentine’s Day.”
Matthew starts talking about how the last time he asked Lucy last minute to watch his daughter, despite their girls being best friends, she ended up going on a fifteen-minute rant. While Anne gets her heels on, staring at herself in the mirror and admiring the floor-length, red dress she had on the slit going up the side for no one but herself, Matthew continues to tell her about how his twin goes on and on about needing a schedule at all times, how she can’t just drop everything in a moment’s notice because he wants to do something with his wife.
“Hey, Matthew,” she cuts him off, trying to shrug her coat on, “Why didn’t you ask Lucy or Sebby after I said no earlier this week?”
“Because I didn’t think you actually had plans.”
“Again, tu sei uno stronzo.”
“I am not an ass!” he detests.
“Fine, you’re a stronzino, happy?” Anne hears him stammer again, not letting him get a word in, “I have to go, I’ll talk to you later, ok? Ask Ma, Dad’s off in Florida right now so she would probably love to have Harper for the night.”
He lets out another sigh, Stephanie’s voice coming through in the background despite Anne’s inability to understand what she was saying. “Fine. Have fun with Tyson. I don’t need another niece or nephew around Halloween, though, ok?”
“Don’t be gross,” she says, hanging up and finally heading out the door.
Her cousin Adriana was getting married to her soon-to-be wife, Izzy. Her family had no idea that she was the only one who still talked to them, her mother having a fight with her brother after their parents died when Anne and her siblings were younger and vowing to never talk to him again. So far, the stubbornness that seems to run through her mom’s blood going strong since it had been over a decade since she had last seen her brother. Anne was invited to Uncle Frankie’s daughter’s wedding, but no one else in her family.
Adriana and Izzy had this Valentine’s Day-themed wedding, everyone asked to wear red or pink in theme with the holiday, Anne not doubting that there would be paper hearts and cut-out cupids as the decor. The wedding gift she bought them, one of the first things she found on their registry that Anne could afford, was shipped to the apartment they already shared two weeks ago, Anne just needing to remember the card.
She was fully prepared to just sit in the corner with a bunch of people she didn’t know and watch as her cousin got married to the love of her life. Anne wasn’t sure that that side of her family would recognize her after how many years, guaranteeing her to spend her time on the sideline.
Anne slips into the back of the church, seeing no one she knew or recognized to even go up to and sit with them. Everyone was dressed in red, pink, and black. A bit too much for her own taste, but at least she looked good in red and would have worn the color anyway. ‘Note to self, no themed weddings,’ Anne thinks, not particularly fond of the lack of color or real choice that everyone had in figuring out what to wear.
A blonde boy in a red suit walks by her, too far past her to get a good look at him. There was something about him that caught her attention. Anne knew that walk, but she had no idea where she knew it from. It didn’t stop her from admiring him from afar, though, the short blonde hair and the obviously fit physique under the suit captivated her for whatever reason, leaving her practically unable to pay attention to the ceremony in front of her. Not that she cared, at this point she was just there to enjoy the free food she knew would be good at the reception later.
Anne sat at the table against the wall, her cousin not bothering to make a seating chart and just leaving it up to the guests to sit where they pleased. That meant she didn’t have to talk to anyone she didn’t want to, being virtually left alone at a wedding where she knew no one.
“Anne?” a familiar voice snaps her out of the trance she fell into watching Ana’s sister and brother-in-law, Catie and Danny dancing with their two daughters, remembering seeing their pictures on Facebook when they were born, not realizing how much they had grown.
She turns to the man in the red suit who had her attention throughout the ceremony. “Cale?” she smiles at him, not sure how the two had missed they would be at the same wedding this weekend. Since New Year's Eve, the two of them had been texting, calling, FaceTiming, they had hung out, spent the night with each other, Cale insisting he buy her dinner at least once a week. The only reason they weren’t dating each other was because neither of them had said they were. They both said they were busy this weekend, but who would have thought they would end up at the same place. “What are you doing here?”
“Izzy’s brother and I grew up playing hockey together. I grew up with her. What are you doing?” he asks her, taking the seat next to her.
“Ana’s my cousin. Her dad is my mom’s older brother.”
Cale smiles at her, Anne’s heart racing at the sight of it. “So I get to meet your family?”
Anne shakes her head. “I’m the only one here,” she tells him, explaining the family drama that went on between Frankie and Teresa.
Cale looks down at his lap, his hands fidgeting with the hem of his suit jacket. The red bowtie, red pants, red jacket even against the black shirt were so much Anne couldn’t tell if his cheeks were red because of the reflection of his clothes or for another reason. “Tyson’s met your family, hasn’t he?”
She nods, taking his hand in hers. “I told you, Tyson and I are just friends. I needed someone to come with me to a family thing, so he came with me.” Cale nods, not entirely sure that something wasn’t up with her and Tyson. Something was off, there was something he was sure Anne was leaving out, but he wasn’t sure. “Hey, I’ve seen Tyson, what, three times since New Year's? All of them when I was with you. I like you, Cale.”
Cale leans over for a kiss, his hand grazing Anne’s thigh, sending a shiver down her spine. “How about we dance like we did on New Year's?” he asks, standing from the seat, shrugging off the red jacket before he extended his hand out to her.
She rolls her eyes, getting up with him anyway. “I told you then, too, that I don’t like dancing.”
“And yet,” he says, pulling her close, his hand finding the small of her back while he presses his forehead against hers, gazing into her eyes, “you danced with me all night then, and you got up to dance with me tonight.”
Anne laughs, knowing he was right, burying her face in his shoulder, swearing she heard some camera’s clicking, probably the wedding photographer hanging around somewhere and taking pictures of the guests dancing.
“I know I have to say this about the brides when they come in,” Cale whispers in her ear, “but you are the most beautiful girl here.”
Anne could feel herself blushing, her mind flashing back to New Year’s Eve when Tyson told her she looked beautiful. He seemed so genuine saying it, Anne thinking back and not sure if he meant it or was actually pretending. But with Cale, she knew. Cale meant it. “You’re not so bad yourself,” she tells him, ghosting his lips before kissing him.
Being with Cale felt fine. Not perfect, but fine. It was right, but not correct, and Anne couldn’t figure out why.
Everyone starts clearing off the dance floor, the bridal party getting ready to come in. Cale takes Anne’s hand and leads her back to the table where he left his jacket, some other people finding their home base at the same table. Cale knew one of the men at the table, probably from their little hockey group that involved Izzy’s brother. The bridesmaids and bridesmen, as the DJ put it, started coming in, Cale leaning back with his arm slung around the back of Anne’s chair. She leaned back into him, his fingertips dancing up and down her arm as they watched everyone come in.
They watched Ana and Izzy dance their first one as wives, Anne’s stomach starting to make noise as they waited for the food to come.
Cale leans over, nervous about what he was about to whisper in her ear. “Are you hungry for food or maybe something more?”
Anne felt her entire body go numb at his words. They had been seeing each other for a month and a half already, so was what he was insinuating really that strange of an idea? “That depends.”
“On?” he asks, nibbling on her ear before kissing the skin right behind it, losing any sense of care over who at their table was potentially watching.
“On how long you think we need to wait before we can slip out without it being rude?”
Cale inhaled sharply, wishing he could say right now. “At least until they cut the cake. Unless,” he says, his hand moving up her thigh, slowly in case she decided she wanted it to stop, “Unless you wanted to try to find somewhere to sneak away to now.”
“Not for our first time,” she tells him, reaching up to cup his cheek. “And not with my family around,” she laughs.
“I’m fine with that,” he tells her, kissing her. “Your place or mine, though?”
“Well, I drove myself here.”
“And I got a ride.”
Anne smiles, crossing her legs in hopes that whatever she felt would be stifled by that simple action. “So it looks like it’s going to be mine.”
They spent the rest of the night waiting for the moment the cake was cut so they could leave as planned, Cale’s hand never leaving her leg unless he really needed both hands to do something.
Anne could feel her heart racing as she watched Ana and Izzy smash their cake in each other’s face, Anne looking over to Cale and smiling. “You wanna go?” she asks, her keys already out of her bag and in her hand.
Cale drags her out without saying a word, Anne leading him to her car. He walks over to the driver’s side, his arms wrapped around her waist with her back pressed against her car. “You’re sure about this?” he asks her, his eyes flicking between hers and her lips.
“Yeah,” she says, kissing him before he opens the door for her. She couldn’t wait to get home, sure she broke a few traffic laws as she sped back to her apartment with Cale sitting next to her in the passenger seat, his leg shaking the entire time.
They got to the elevator, Cale leaning against her against the wall with his lips pressed against hers, Anne’s hands already working to unbutton his shirt. Cale’s kisses trailed down her jaw to her collarbone, his grip tightening on her waist.
Anne pulled away to lead him down the hallway, practically running, partially due to anticipation for what they were about to do, and because Anne could feel a breeze on her back, indicating that Cale had already unzipped her dress. That, coupled with the fact that Cale’s shirt was already open, his jacket in his free hand, Anne had no desire for any of her neighbors to be given the chance to see her and however Cale was to her already getting naked before closing the door.
As soon as she unlocked her door, Cale had her turned back around, kicking the door closed as he carried her to her bedroom, Anne able to feel everything about him against her body. Cale laid her down on her bed, his lips never leaving hers as he positioned himself over her, sliding her dress off while she did the same with his shirt. Anne’s breath hitched at the sight of him, his body perfect while he stared her down, the first time she saw the typically innocent boy she had been seeing with a mischievous grin covering his face, his eyes darkening at the thought of doing what they had both been wanting to do all night.
“You’re sure about this?” he asks one more time.
Anne nods, taking his face in her hands. “Yes, Cale. I’m sure.”

February 13, 2022
Anne woke up the next morning, the events of the night before rushing back despite finding the space he had occupied in her bed empty. Her dress was on the floor, Cale’s red bowtie somehow having ended up on her night stand. Maybe he left it there as an excuse to see her again, making a mental note to put it in the living room so she would remember it the next time she saw him.
He had slipped out at some point that morning, Anne playing the voicemail that he left her while she slipped on a t-shirt to cover herself. “Hey, Anne. Sorry, I couldn’t stay, but morning skate was calling. I,” she hears him sigh, knowing he had a stupid grin on his face for whatever it was he was about to say, “I can’t wait to have another night like last night with you.”
It was her turn to have the stupid smile on her face as Cale continues, “Um, anyway, I’ve got something going on with JT and some of the other guys tomorrow for Valentine’s Day, a, uh, charity thing? I think? So would you be free this weekend for a proper date for the holiday? You know, not as crowded, not as much pressure, ideally the same outcome, if you’ll allow it? Oh, hey Tyson,” she hears him say, figuring that he was calling her on the way into the rink despite her being unable to hear Tyson. “Yeah, I’m planning Valentine’s Day with Anne. No, not tomorrow night, this weekend. Uh, Anne, I’ve gotta go, but let me know about, say, Friday night? Alright, talk to you later. Bye.”
Valentine’s Day date with Cale? Part two, more like, but still. Anne liked the sound of that.
“So, uh,” Tyson starts, already dreading what he was about to hear from his teammate given what he had heard him say into his phone. “You and Anne?”
“Yeah,” Cale breathes out, chuckling at the thought of what happened last night. “We, um,” Cale couldn’t even get a full sentence out, acting like a child who just got the toy he had been begging his parents for on Christmas morning. He couldn’t remember the last time he was that happy. “We spent the night together last night. I left from her place this morning.”
More of their teammates were filtering into the locker room, looking at Cale’s face turn bright red while Tyson stood there with him looking like he just about wanted to die. “Ok, but did you spend the night, or spend the night?” Ryan asks.
Cale started to stammer out nonsense, not really wanting to divulge the private details of his and Anne’s night despite the guys teasing him and congratulating him for what he wasn’t saying.
“Guys, keep it civil. Anne wouldn’t want us talking about any of this,” Tyson pipes in, Cale letting out a sigh of relief as the guys disperse to get ready for morning skate.
“Thanks,” Cale tells him, going off on his own to get his gear on.
JT appears by Tyson’s side, a stupid smirk on his face. “Would Anne not want us talking about anything, or would you not want us talking about anything?”
“Well, Anne definitely wouldn’t.”
“Oh, come on, we both know Cale would never.”
“Doesn’t mean I want him to have the chance.”
“You’re treading in deep water, dude,” JT sighs.
Tyson looks at him, hating that he knew what he meant. He had barely seen Anne, despite her brother’s texts from the night before asking if Anne really couldn’t watch Harper because of the two of them going out, Tyson going along with the lie just in case. “I don’t know what you want from me.”
“It seems like you don’t know what you want from Anne, either,” JT shrugs. “But Cale does, and he got it.”

February 14, 2022
12 hour shifts were the only shifts Anne knew. And they were the shifts that Anne detested the most. She was fine the first ten hours, but the last two always seemed to suck more than anything, leaving her exhausted for the rest of the day, into the night, depending on when she got home in the first place.
All she wanted to do was order dinner from the Thai place down the street, having it delivered despite her really not needing to since it was within walking distance, plop herself on her couch and watch whatever reality TV Lucy had texted her that she thought Anne would like. Anne knew she would turn it off after a single episode and switch to Food Network, but at least she could tell her sister she tried.
Anne walks to her apartment, dragging her feet to her door when she sees someone sitting on the ground, his head down looking at his phone. “Tyson?”
He gets up, grabbing the two bags he had with him as the smell of food filled her nose. “Happy Valentine’s Day, my fake girlfriend,” he says, raising the bags while Anne opens the door to let him in.
“I’m confused,” she tells him as he sets everything down.
“Well, Matthew called me on Saturday asking if the two of us were sure we couldn’t watch his daughter, and I figured he might as well have some sort of photographic evidence as proof of us spending Valentine’s Day together,” Tyson explains. “So, I figured I’d go all out: flowers, dinner, and a present. You know, really convince them that we’re together.”
Anne stares at him for a second, not sure why her heart was racing at the thought of him going out of his way to keep up this facade with her family. “I don’t think I like that you and Matthew are so ‘buddy-buddy.’ Or that fact that he didn’t believe me the first two times I told him I was busy on Saturday night. And I thought that you guys had a charity thing tonight?”
“Oh, you didn’t know?” Tyson asks, handing her the container of food as she joined him on the couch, the Thai food she was planning on ordering right in front of her. “We have a groupchat. Yeah, it’s me, Sebby, Lucy, and Matthew.”
Anne scoffs, rolling her eyes at his failed attempt at a joke. “And let me guess: you gossip about me the entire time.”
“Actually,” he says, his mouth full of food, “you never come up. They think of me as the fourth sibling. The name Anne means nothing.”
Anne laughs, Tyson admiring the way her eyes closed as her smile grew. God, he wished he had gotten to her before Cale did. Why did he have to leave her alone at all on New Year’s Eve? If he were by her side the entire night like he had wanted to be, then he wouldn’t have to pretend to be her boyfriend, he could actually be getting somewhere with her.
“Hm,” Anne hums, swallowing her mouthful of food. “You said flowers and a present. When do I get those?”
“You can get them now on the condition that I can take a video to send to your siblings,” he offers, pulling out his phone and pushing the bag with the flowers and gift behind him. Anne rolls her eyes, smiling and nodding while he starts the video. He hands her the card first. “Read it.”
Anne pulls it out of the envelope, glitter getting everywhere and making her cringe, knowing that it would be impossible to get off her scrubs later on. It was covered with roses and hearts, bringing her right back to the wedding that weekend. “No one has ever made me feel like this. To the woman I love: Happy Valentine’s Day,” Anne reads, feeling a lump forming in her throat. The card was so corny, a little too corny for her taste, but coming from Tyson, she didn’t know why she loved it. She shakes her head, laughing at Tyson. “I love you, too,” she lies.
Tyson swallows hard at her words, wishing she meant them, pulling out the flowers from the bag and handing them to her. She looks down at the flowers, trying to figure out what they are before looking up at him. “Queen Anne’s Lace?”
“Queen Anne’s Lace for my Queen, Anne,” he tells her, cringing at his own words.
Anne giggles, placing them in her lap. “And my favorite flowers, anyway. Thank you, Tyson.”
“Wait, I have one more thing,” he says, hoping that the camera wasn’t shaking too much while he reached for the gift he bought her.
He hands it to her, a small red box wrapped with a gold bow. She unties it carefully, opening the box and gasping at the sight of it. A golden necklace with a white enamel heart as the charm, a golden pattern outlining the heart. “Tyson, it’s,” she starts, unable to find the words, “it’s beautiful.”
He stops the recording, figuring he had enough to hit send to his ‘girlfriend's' siblings. “Let me put it on you,” he says, Anne turning around and moving her hair out of the way. “I thought you would like it.”
Anne studies his face, the smile plastered on it despite her knowing that he didn’t mean it. “You didn’t have to do this.”
He shrugs, grabbing his food off the table and staring at it now in his lap. “It was fun. I’ve never had a girlfriend who I could buy presents like this for. I mean, I still don’t, but I have you.”
“Oh, come on. You, Tyson Jost, have never had a girlfriend? Look at you,” she says, praying that she was careful with the words she chose. “You’re gorgeous, you’re sweet, you’re funny, you get along with everyone you meet.”
Tyson hated hearing Anne go on about him, knowing that she was just saying it as a friend instead of something more. He scoffs, trying to save face from whatever pain or other emotion he was feeling. “Come on,” he says, not believing her anyway.
“I’m serious!” she insists, reaching up and starting to fidget with her new necklace. “Any girl would be lucky to have you as her boyfriend. I’m lucky to even have you as a fake boyfriend.”
Tyson nods, turning his body to face the TV instead of Anne. “So what are we watching?” he asks, changing the subject and putting his feet up on the table, Anne doing the same.
“Whatever’s on Food Network?” she suggests, holding the remote in the air pointed at the TV.
The two of them settle in, Tyson not paying attention to the show she had turned on. “Hey, what’s that?” Tyson asks, racing over to the red fabric that was on Anne’s coffee table.
“Oh,” Anne blushes, taking it from Tyson. “This is Cale’s. He, um, let it the other night,” she explains, Tyson watching her turn his teammates bowtie over in her hands.
“So you and Cale are doing pretty well?” he asks. Anne looks at him, not sure if she really wanted to tell him about it. “Come on, we’re friends. You can talk to me about anything.”
“I mean,” she says, putting down the bowtie on the table, not taking her eyes off of it. “We’re together? I think?” Tyson already hated that he even offered to listen to her talk about her and his teammate. “I like him. A lot. And I know he likes me, but,” Anne lets out a sigh, not sure where to even take her sentence.
“But, what?” Tyson asks.
“I don’t know,” she shakes her head, looking confused. “Everything is great, but it’s, I,” she stammers. “Something is off, and I can’t figure out what.”
Tyson stares at her for a second, trying to figure out what to say. “It’s probably just that it’s new,” he shrugs. “Everything seems weird when you’re still figuring it out. You and Cale will be ok,” he tells her, hating hearing those words come out of his mouth.

February 19, 2022
Anne stared at herself in the mirror, the black turtleneck she borrowed from her sister coupled with a beige skirt and black tights on her as she got ready for her date with Cale. He was bound to show up any minute, promising each other they weren’t going to do gifts due to a general lack of time on both ends. She didn’t believe that he wasn’t going to get her a gift, however, sneaking out to the bakery down the street and buying some pastries that the two of them would like, giving them an excuse to both show up back at her apartment. And if he didn’t give her a gift, then she got the pastries all to herself.
If not, she could share them with Tyson, who had been showing up at her place or asking her to go to his place any free chance they both had.
She heard Cale knocking at her door, Anne rushing as fast as she could in her heels to answer. Cale was standing there, a black crewneck similar to her own turtleneck, paired with dark jeans, black boots, and a grey coat. Cale kisses her hello, one hand behind his back with the other resting on her hip. “Every time I see you I don’t think you could get more beautiful, and yet, you do.”
“You’re cheesy,” she jokes as he kisses her forehead, Cale laughing against her skin. “But you,” Anne says, resting her hands on his chest, “get more handsome every time I see you, too. And, you’re hiding a present behind your back, aren’t you, even though we said no presents.”
Cale laughs, closing the door behind him. “Maybe I saw this and had to get it for you,” he admits, kissing her again and holding up the bag near her head.
“Should I open it now or should I do it later when we come back here?” she flirts, holding the bag in her hand.
“Oh, we’re coming back here?” he teases her, trailing kisses down her neck.
“I might have gotten some dessert for us so we had an excuse to relive last Saturday. Plus, you left your bowtie here,” she gestures to it, still sitting on her table, “And I was thinking maybe you wear that tonight instead of keeping it off?”
Cale raises his eyebrow at her, a silly smile on his face. “And what else would I be wearing?”
Anne shrugs, pretending to act innocent. “I was thinking only the bowtie,” she tells him, feeling his grip around her tighten at the thought.
Cale kisses her again, unable to keep his hands off the girl in front of him. If he could, he would forget dinner altogether and just go straight to dessert, but he knew Anne wasn’t that kind of girl, and he wasn’t about to force her into anything she didn’t want. “Hey, I like that necklace you’re wearing,” he says, twirling the charm around in his fingers. “The heart is perfect for Valentine’s Day.”
She reaches up and takes his hand in hers. “Thanks. My sister got it for me a few years ago for my birthday,” she lies. She couldn’t tell him that Tyson had gotten it for her for Valentine’s Day.

Season 3. Three episodes. One crazy.
Tumblr media
There was a run Justice League: The Rise of Arsenal where Green Arrow’s former sidekick Roy Harper/Arsenal’s daughter Lian is killed and in his grief he hallucinates that a dead cat is his daughter. To combat his grief he goes off to an alley to do heroin and fights off some baddies by using the aforementioned dead cat.   After that issue, someone commented, “Roy Harper making Jason Todd look sane.” Well, I think TITANS is giving Jason back the title of craziest sidekick.
Call me Stephanie Brown because here be Spoiler(s).
How prescient was “Battle for the Cowl”?
Tumblr media
I was late on watching the episodes but I saw some people on Twitter mad at the depiction of Bruce. I thought it was more complaints about the age of Iain Glen.
Kevin Conroy is six years older than Glen and no one complained about him as Bruce in BATWOMAN
Tumblr media
Then as I continued watching I thought people were mad because of how quickly Bruce was seeking to replace Jason (which some are upset about).
credit to @dccomicsjokerm1 on Twitter
Tumblr media
As if Bruce didn’t pick up wards like Alfred picked up socks.
Tumblr media
But to me, it falls in line with how I view Bruce: an emotionally constipated person who has decided to divorce himself from attachments.  There was an issue of Batman pre-New 52 were Bruce called up all of his wards for a meeting where he told them he would no longer be Bruce Wayne, only Batman because he couldn’t have the people in his circle continually being used against him. I wish I could find the panel because everyone’s face was like, “Oh, Bruce’s being cray again - must be a day that ends with “y”.
But when I got to the end of the first (second?) episode I realized what it is that set everyone off.  Bruce finally did it - after Barbara told him he was as crazy as The Joker, and Dick finally co-signing on that, Bruce killed The Joker which was shocking for two reasons. We all know Batman doesn’t kill *directly*. Letting Ra’s al Ghul fall to his death in a careening train in “Batman Begins” is acceptable. Also, how about blaming Gotham’s poor infrastructure for that. Secondly shocking is that we could all surmise Arkham Asylum’s security was lax because The Joker and other inmates were always escaping, but Bruce killed The Joker inside Arkham and was able to stroll home to tell Dick with the weapon in hand like a dog bringing in a dead bird.
Arkham Guards to Bruce happy to be free of The Joker.
Tumblr media
People have decried the act as character assassination but I’m sanguine about it. There is 82 years of Batman stories canon and AUs; all valid. There is a Batman depiction for everyone. But Bruce’s behaviour in TITANS tracks to the depiction I like of Bruce.  Above all else Bruce lives for being Batman and there are stories over the ages where that is in-play.  Like the Superman and Batman story where Silver Banshee zaps Batman and Superman resulting in Bruce having Superman’s abilities and because Bruce is just a non-powered individual, Clark was able to be a civilian....which pissed Bruce off because with Superman’s abilities he was now free to go across the globe kicking people’s a**es like a vengeful Santa and couldn’t understand how Clark could dare want to live a peaceful life as Clark Kent when he could stamp out crime and stomp on people’s heads.   That left the JLA worried about Bruce so Dick volunteered to talk some sense into Bruce.
Didn’t work out so well for Dick.
Tumblr media
There is a reason why Tim said this to Ra’s al Ghul.
Tumblr media
Jason- Jason is my favourite Robin and while Jason is a killer he’s not in league with villains so this depiction was a bit jarring, but unlike Bruce who is so emotionally repressed, Jason is all emotion. So angry.
It’s what killed him in the comics and what killed him in the show but unlike in the comics when he returned from the dead and wanted to kill Bruce for not avenging him, he’s killing Bruce’s legacy - his mission - everything he has lived for.  Which is why Jason let Bruce live in the comics - he wanted to be an ever present reminder of Bruce failing: his ward is now a killer.
-It could just be coincidence but there were many moments that felt like direct homages to the comics and films like:
- Bomb device in Hank’s chest like the one The Joker implanted in that guy in “The Dark Knight”.  Same with the switcheroo with Dawn at the end of episode 3.
Jason is the master of misdirection. In the comics he kidnapped Speedy/Mia Dearden, leading Bruce and Oliver on a chase to rescue her not realizing that Jason needed them busy while he let two rival gangs kill each other.
Tumblr media
And “Streets Run Red” where Jason, now a red-head for reasons - lets himself get arrested and sent Arkham so that he could kill a bunch of people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Dick who is now more or less Batman, rushing to the building and one of Jason’s lackey’s falling onto his roof reminded me of the story where Jason maybe/probably/almost certainly pushed a pimp off the roof of a building as Batman was trying to reach them.
Tumblr media
- Barbara and Dick talking about how Bruce screwed them up, which is something Bruce realized with Jason.
Tumblr media
-How much smarter is it that Bruce would have a holographic dinosaur and coin? So much smarter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- I see what you did there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- As much as I didn’t like Hawk in season one I hate that he had to die.
Jason, you will never get a statue now. I mean, you didn’t get one before, but now you’re *really* not getting one.
Tumblr media
But I can see why they didn’t want to recast the role.
I’m assuming Hawk is a goner because Ritchson will be too busy with the Jack Reacher series.
Tumblr media
where he reunites with Kristin Kreuk of SMALLVILLE.
Tumblr media
Ritchson even reunited with the other cast recently.

What would happened if Bruce Wayne went yandere for a vigilante who didn't fight or have any powers, since their power was the ability to be really nice to people. Like in the burning hellscape of Gotham they try their best to help people find pets or edit papers for people, and they made batman a handmade thank you card for keeping the city safe. Because they literally try to put a smile on people's faces, because they know how powerless people feel in Gotham and she's scared to live here too.
Subject: DC, Bruce Wayne
Title: Brighten! (Vigilante! Gender neutral reader)
Trigger Warning: Obsession, fluffy, kidnapping, drugs
The Dark Knight stared down at you, a young little thing in a handmade costume, extending to him a handmade card. "Who are you supposed to be?" He rasped.
You smiled as brightly as you could. "I'm Brighten!" You extended the card again, willing him to take it. "My super power is brightening people's day! Whether it's helping to decrease stress on a college student or helping people in need, I do my best to make sure the people of Gotham have a reason to smile."
A muscle in Bruce's jaw twitched. He couldn't tell if he was annoyed of smitten. You were fucking adorable, a truly pure hearted hearted hero who would get herself killed if you didn't drop the cape right now. "You're going to get yourself killed." He said.
Your smiled faltered. "I know that can happen, but just like how I help people, they help me, too. It gives me purpose and makes me feel good."
Bruce bit the inside of his cheek. "And the card?"
"Its for inspiring me," you were back to your full blinding smile, "you helped me and that made me want to help others in return."
Damn it. Not another one. Not another kid clawing at his cape with big doey eyes and a thirst for justice. "I can't accept that." Bruce turned away and glanced back at you, "Put the cape away and don't ever let me catch you in it again." Then he was gone.
Bruce thought that would be the end of it. Naturally, he looked into you and found your identity pretty easily. You were a young college grad that was working at a gas station. God, of course you wanted to make people smile, you needed to smile, too. He couldn't bring himself not to make a file on you, on every little life event that you and your parents posted on social media. He needed to be thorough, he thought, be thorough in his notes to better know how to stop you in the future if you put the cape back on.
You haunted him every day. Were you eating well? No, of course you weren't, you could barely afford rent. Did you find another hobby to make you happy? No, the news says Brighten is still on the prowl.
And then...
"Mr. Wayne?"
He jerked up, realizing far too late he'd gotten lost in thought about you. "What is it?"
The new secretary shifted his weight back and forth. "You have a visitor. She insisted on delivering a present to you herself. She won't leave either."
His first thought was Barbara or Cass, but they both had clearance to come up to his office. Maybe Stephanie or Harper then. "Send her in."
The secretary looked uncomfortable but didn't question him. He went out of the room and brought back in... You. "I'll leave you to it," the secretary said, and ducked out of the room.
"Hello, Mr. Wayne." You approached his desk, hands behind your back.
Bruce knew how Batman had touched your life, but how had Bruce Wayne? He hadn't done anything in your neighborhood recently. Calmly Bruce asked, "How can I help you?"
"I made you a card." You smiled that beautiful bright smile and set the card on his desk.
Ice traveled down his spine. It was the same card that you'd tried to give him in the past. He stared. All words died on his tongue.
"I can keep a secret," you said, "just like I know you keep mine."
And just like that, the ice was fire. This was it, a deep part of him screamed, this is exactly what he'd been waiting for. An excuse. An excuse to keep you off the street and safe. An excuse to take care of you without comprising Gotham. "You know?" His voice was lower than he intended it to be, gruff like his alter ego.
You nodded.
Perfect. He slid the card back to you. "I want you to bring this by my home. There's something I want to discuss with you where I know our conversation can't be overheard."
You beamed. "Of course, I'll be there tonight!" With a toothachingly sweet smile you playfully asked, "Can I expect dinner?"
"Of course." He couldn't help smiling, "See you tonight."
***
There was relief and excitement in his belly. He shouldn’t have been feeling either at the thought of you coming to his house, but it was perfect. The only way to stop you from getting yourself hurt, and the only way to prevent his secret identity from being blown, and you’d practically handed it to him. Bruce added a few more drops to your wine glass.
When you arrived, dressed so nicely and smiling that sweet smile, Bruce knew what he was doing was right, even if you didn’t understand. He pulled your chair back for you and pretended to listen to you talk, because all he could focus on was whether you were drinking your wine or not.
You were too trusting for you own good, draining your glass within thirty minutes of arrival. it didn’t take long for the drug to kick in and Bruce was there when you fell. “Don’t worry,” he said, “this is for you your good and mine.” The only way to keep you from being a vigilante and from exposing his identity was for you to already know, then all he needed to do was make sure you never left the Batcave. "Welcome home."

Characters That Might Be Introduced in Young Justice Season 4: Phantoms
This is just my own personal speculation, based on what I think might happen in Season 4 and what YJ has given us so far. I’m sure that I’ve missed plenty of characters that others 100% believe or know will be making an appearance...but, I can’t do anything about that.
While the majority of the characters on this list are ones we haven’t met before, there are a few we have met in the show - I included these characters, because I think they might be added to the ever-growing roster of heroes or have a more prominent role to play.
This is really long, but I had fun doing it and I hope you enjoy it.
Characters We've Met Already
Part I: Prominent Future Role
     M’comm M’orzz/Ma'alefa'ak
Tumblr media
M’gann’s younger brother who wants to start a white revolution on Mars. We met him in season 3 during the episode of “Away Mission,” where he was a major focal point.
There are a couple of factors for why I think he’ll play a prominent role.
He’s M’gann’s younger brother and as several people have speculated upon, this season’s tagline of “Phantoms” might be in reference to our main characters’ own personal phantoms from their pasts, rather than literal ghosts. Also given how M’gann has a new little brother in Gar, who was given more prominence last season – there could be something there.
M’Comm wants to start a White Revolution and we know M’gann, Conner, J’onn, and Gar (I believe) will be heading to Mars, either before or at the beginning of Season 4. Since J’onn/Martian Manhunter is usually the last Green Martian – some dark stuff may be awaiting our heroes on Mars or occur while they’re there.
I think he’ll play a significant role in the upcoming season.
     Jason Todd/Red Hood
Tumblr media
Jason is a prominent member of the Batfamily and we’ve already learned that he was the Robin after Dick, but died before Season 2 began.
In Season 3 – he was also an easter egg in “Nightmare Monkeys,” where he died in Beast Boy’s mind, along with other fallen comrades.
More importantly, in “Rescue Op,” we actually met him as the Red Hooded Ninja on Infinity Island. Towards the end of that episode there was attention given to the fact that he recognized Dick and therefore his memory was returning.
I can definitely see him having a more significant part in the future. He would most likely be Dick’s main phantom, if that’s the case for Season 4.
     Big Barda
Tumblr media
One of Granny’s most loyal generals and the leader of the furies before she defects against Darkseid. We were introduced to her in Season 3, in “Influence" - she fought against the Justice League, but more importantly she was saved by Superman. While it’s clear that Granny hurting her or being willing to sacrifice her is par for the course, it seemed pretty clear (to me) that Superman reshaped her outlook on life.
We never saw her again, so more than likely she defected after Superman saved her.
Given her usual importance to the plot of Darkseid as well as the fact that her main love interest is Scot Free – I think there is more than a good chance we’ll see her again in Season 4.
--
In the third season, each of these characters were introduced in a single episode. Given their significant relationships to either a character or a plot element that is important to Young Justice - it seems more than likely we’ll see them play a larger role in the upcoming season.
Part II: Minor Future Role
     Harper Rowe/Bluebird
Tumblr media
She was a minor character in Season 3, but she was also pretty prominent. Given that she’s a hero in the comics, I can see Harper being a new hero added to the roster. I can’t say how prominent she’ll actually be, but I can definitely see her playing a minor role.
     Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl
Tumblr media
Courtney is a pretty prominent young hero in DC and she made several appearances in Season 3 – with her show (Stargirl) where she reported and interviewed young heroes. So, maybe she’ll have decided instead of just interviewing heroes, she’ll become one herself.
     Cisco Ramon/Vibe
Tumblr media
For a character who was just being bullied they paid a decent amount of attention to him. Now maybe he was just a prominent Easter Egg for fans (CW’s The Flash), but it could also be YJ laying some slight ground work for him in the future.
     Cassandra Cain/Orphan
Tumblr media
Orphan is a member of the Batfamily and her mother is Lady Shiva - The Light’s new enforcer, who we got to know decently well in Season 3. Because of that, I think there could be something there to explore in Season 4.
--
I don’t really think any of these guys will be major characters, but I’m betting we’ll at least see them in the background as heroes. Similar to how Stephanie Brown and others were introduced as easter eggs and then in the following season we saw them working as heroes.
In addition, there are of course other minor hero/super-powered characters whom we’ve already met (Arrowette, Spoiler, Mist etc.) and any one of them could get more screen time, it’s honestly anyone’s guess; I just don’t have anything specific to speculate about for them.
Characters We Haven’t Met
Part I: Legion of Super-Heroes/Time Travel
Based on the idea that the Legion of Super-Heroes and time travel could play a significant role in Season 4 – which is based on how season 3 ended with an unknown woman wearing a Legion Ring.
Legion of Super-Heroes
The Legion of Super-Heroes are a superhero team from the 31st Century; they are similar to The Justice League, but they protect and defend the United Planets.
     Tinya Wazzo/Phantom Girl
Tumblr media
Phantom Girl is a member of the Legion, so based off that and her name, there’s a decent chance we’ll meet her. I can’t say how big of role she’ll actually have, but I feel confident in saying this season won’t be named after her; it’ll just be fun little tie-in, if she does make an appearance.
     Querl Dox/Brainiac 5
Tumblr media
Brainiac is a very prominent member of the Legion and knowing that they will play some role, it’s not a stretch to say he’ll also play a role.
Brainiac 5, or at least in the WB animated show, was the inventor of the Legion Ring, as well as the ability to time-travel.
Given his relation to one of Superman’s greatest enemies, Brainiac, who could definitely be a threat to both the League and The Light (if Brainiac even appears), I can definitely see Brainiac 5 playing a role.
But, just his promience within the Legion is enough reason to speculate he’ll make an apperance.
     Imra Ardeen/Saturn Girl
Tumblr media
Given Saturn Girl’s usual importance and prominence to the Legion (founding member), plus the fact that it was a waitress wearing the ring – it could very well have been her at the end of Season 3.
And even if it wasn’t her, she will still likely make an apperance.
Other Members of the Legion of Super-Heroes who we could meet: Lightning Lad, Cosmic Boy, Bouncing Boy, Triplicate Girl, Timber Wolf, Chameleon Boy, etc.
     Michael Carter/Booster Gold
Tumblr media
Booster Gold is a pretty popular character who has appeared in many other works and is intrinsically linked with time-travel. On top of that, he typically has (or had) a good friendship with the old Blue Beetle (Ted Kord), so maybe we’ll see some reverse-mentor relationship with him and Jaime, the new Beetle – Jaime teaching him what it actually means to be a hero.
In general, I think he would just be a fun and new kind of personality to be brought in.
Future Kids (Lian Nguyen-Harper, Damian Wayne, Jon Kent, Tornado Twins, etc).
Tumblr media
Given how time-travel will possibly be an element in Season 4, I think there’s a chance we’ll have an episode set in the future, starring the next generation of heroes. Maybe not all the kids we saw in “Home Fires,” but probably some of them.
Part II: The Phantom Zone
I have the theory that Granny’s X-Pit is a type of Phantom Zone or at least based off the real thing.
Granny herself even called the pit the Ghost Dimension (which just sounds like another name for the Phantom Zone). So, it seems very likely to me that given the title of Season Four, the prominence of The Phantom Zone in DC, and how the X-Pit worked in YJ -- that The Phantom Zone will make an appearance in season 4, if not play an important part.
There could be lots of ways they could incorporate it into the show.
Maybe it works as a prison. The prison cells are like the red boxes Granny used to protect herself and thus there’s no chance of prisoners escaping the Zone, because if they try leave their cells, they’ll experience excruciating pain
Depending on how the Phantom Zone would work in in YJ, I feel like those who escape the Phantom Zone or are from there, could be called Phantoms.
While I do personally think the tagline Phantoms will refer to our main heroes’ own personal phantoms, the tagline could also be in reference to other elements of the season (like the Phantom Zone).
      Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Tumblr media
Supergirl is an important and popular character in the DC and given the prominence of the Batfamily in YJ, it seems a bit odd that the Superfamily is rather lacking in comparison.
Supergirl has been a part of the Legion of Super-Heroes and due to her popular CW Show - she is more recently associated with the Phantom Zone. In her show, she ended up being stuck in the Phantom Zone which is why she arrived on Earth so much later than Clark. YJ could do something like that or maybe she’ll have been stuck in the Phantom Zone until the 31st Century.
The introduction of Supergirl could be an interesting storyline in association with Conner (and Clark). We know that Clark has been interested in finding other Kryptonians and Kara is certainly more than just another Kryptonian.
She’s also a likely candidate to be the waitress who was wearing the Legion Ring.
     Mon-El
Tumblr media
A Daxxamite who’s a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes and is also strongly associated with the Phantom Zone. Given how in Season 1, Superman thought that Shazam and Icon were potential Kryptonians, there could be something interesting there with Mon-El – especially since his species are so similar to Kryptonians.
In the comics, Mon-El had been inspired by Superboy into becoming a hero, but he was put in the Phantom Zone because he had an incurable disease; he was later saved by Brainiac 5 in the 31st Century. So that could be another potential storyline for Superboy in Season 4.
Mon-El has also gotten some more recognition in recent years, due to his role in CW’s Supergirl.
Also, when I was looking up a picture for him to use, I learned that there is another version of Mon-El, where he is a descendent of House El/Superman.
So maybe that version will be introduced instead of the Daxxamite one, I don’t know.
Zod Trio -- Zod, Ursa, Non
Tumblr media
I don’t actually think these guys will be important to Season 4, if even they are introduced. But they are important Superman Villains and they’re usually connected with the Phantom Zone – given how many continuities they are prisoners of said Zone.
So, it seemed silly to not speculate about them at least making an appearance or small cameo, if not something more.
Part III: Darkseid and Meta-Trafficking
     Scott Free/Mister Miracle
Tumblr media
Scott or Scot is Darkseid’s adopted son and the biological son of Highfather, so it feels safe to say that he’ll be a part of the show at some point. Especially, given the increase prominence of Darkseid as well as how much we’ve seen of the New Gods, Motherboxes/Fatherboxes, and the two worlds of New Genesis and Apokolips.
Scot is a defector of Apokolips or more accurately was never broken by the place. He is known for being able to escape any imprisonment - particularly Granny’s Orphanage/X-Pit, so if there’s a return of the X-Pit, Scot would be a great asset to our heroes.
Given how we’ve been introduced to the X-Pit quite thoroughly in Season 3, I think that Scot’s ability to free himself would be all the more impressive, and a quick way to establish this new character and his skills.
In addition, while we didn’t meet the real Orion, we do know that he exists in this universe. Orion is the adopted son of Highfather and the biological one of Darkseid. In the comics, Scot and Orion were traded as part of a Peace Treaty between the worlds of New Genesis and Apokolips.
Basically, he’s due to make an apperance.
     Princess Koriand’r of Tamaran/Starfire
Tumblr media
The plots of Season 2 and 3 were largely focused on the kidnapping, experimenting, and trafficking of meta-human children/teenagers, so given all of that - Starfire seems very likely to be included in YJ.
Or at the very least, YJ has laid down the groundwork for her to be introduced - whether or not they’ll use that, we’ll have to see.
Starfire’s origin is that she is a Tamerean Princess who was taken and experimented on, which resulted in her gaining powers (more powers). So, in the YJ universe she would essentially be a Meta-Tamerean.
Starfire could be a great way to show that the Meta-Gene exploitation isn’t just an earth/human problem anymore, as many more beings across the universe are being experimented on and turned into living weapons.
Thus, expanding upon the trafficking story thread that was introduced in Season 3.
In general, Starfire’s origin story fits very well with the trafficking/meta-experimenting storylines that we’ve gotten so far and I think her presence would add something new.
Given the popularity of Teen Titans and the prominence of Nightwing, Beast Boy, and Cyborg in YJ, it seems more than likely that Star will be a character in the show.
Also, we know that Arsenal will be on the Covert Team and that Jason is alive, so maybe if Star is introduced, we’ll see a version of the Outlaws in YJ. Which could be fun.
Finally, she is one of Nightwing’s main love interests, so there could be some personal drama to be had, if the show goes down that route, which they may not.
Starfire obviously doesn’t have to be a love interest for Nightwing to be added into the story.
While I love RobStar (+ Dickbabs), I feel like sometimes Star is just limited to being Nightwing’s other girlfriend. So, if she is introduced in YJ, I would not be opposed to other storylines involving her without Nightwing.
In my personal opinion, not including Star would be such a wasted opportunity, given what YJ has already established so far.
Part IV: Zatanna’s Protégé(s) / Magic-Based Characters
I have a small theory, that magic might play a larger role in season 4. This is mostly based on the fact that magic has been pushed to the background in the past two seasons. Also, the title of ‘Phantoms’ makes me think of the supernatural (aka Magic).
We also know that Zatanna will have protégés, as in plural. Now she already has Thirteen, so at the very least we can say that one new magical-based character will be introduced to the team or the hero side.
     The Phantom Stranger
Tumblr media
A mysterious mystic who battles supernatural forces. It’s unlikely he’ll be a protégé for Zatanna, but I mentioned him first, because of his name. Which is the main reason for why I think he, out of all the magical characters in DC, could make an appearance.
Similar to Phantom Girl, I don’t think the season’s tagline will come from his name, but it might just be a nice little tie-in regardless.
Eddie Bloomberg/Kid Devil aka Red Devil
Tumblr media
Blue Devil has made a few minor appearances in Seasons 1 & 2 and given how Kid Devil was once his sidekick in the comics, I think there’s a decent chance Red Devil we’ll make an appearance.
He’s a character who I think many people might not know about or at least not a lot about; and YJ does like to shine a light on those characters.
Eddie started out as human kid/teenager who became Kid Devil - sidekick to Blue Devil. He ended up making a deal with a demon and got demonic powers and looks to match - possibly related to that, he had a falling out with Blue Devil and stopped being his sidekick.
I’m pretty fuzzy on the details of his story, as I’m not super familiar with his character; but the broad strokes that I do know, I think could really work for YJ.
He starts  out as the sidekick of Blue Devil (maybe he knows the team), but he has a falling out with Blue or goes off on his own – and gets his demonic powers, becoming Red Devil. Or something like that.
As he becomes Zatanna’s protégé (trying to learn to control his magical powers), he also has to work on his strained relationship with Blue Devil.
It could be a similar story to Red Arrow’s from Season 1, a nice throwback with a new character. And a character who while being new, does already have some slight groundwork laid out for his introduction - with Blue Devil already existing in YJ.
Again, I’m just throwing ideas out here and speculating.
     Zachary Zatara
Tumblr media
Several people have pointed out that Zachary is a more likely candidate to be Zatanna’s new protégé than Raven is - who was the first person I thought of - given how Zachary is Zatanna’s cousin.
And yeah, I think there’s a decent enough chance for him becoming a character in Season 4.
He’s related to a former member of the OG Team and like Eddie, he’s not really a character many people are super familiar with, so that could work in his favor.
It could also be fun to have someone back on the team who has magic like Zatanna and if Zachary was part of the team, we would probably see more of Zatanna – which would be great.
One problem I do have though, is if he does exist in this universe - why didn’t Zatanna move in with his parent(s) (her aunt or uncle) when her father became the host for Doctor Fate.
Of course, that could just be because in season one they had never intended for him to exist in the show, but now things have changed.
And in Season 2, we were given no indication that Beast Boy had been with the Doom Patrol or that they had died tragic deaths in between the time his mother died and when he joined the team. So yeah....
Zachary is a likely candidate to be added, especially in regard to Zatanna have multiple protégés (or at least 2).
     Rachel Roth/Raven
Tumblr media
Unlike Starfire, Raven’s main story arc involving Trigon doesn’t really relate to what has been going on in Young Justice so far. Nonetheless, it seems very likely she’ll be included - given the popularity of TT, plus Nightwing, Beast Boy, and Cyborg being prominent characters.
Raven  shouldn’t be limited by the existence of Trigon; as you easily have Raven in a story, without Trigon being front and center, in my opinion. And, it would be nice seeing other storylines involving Raven that don’t include Trigon, or at least not having him be a major factor.
There’s nothing specific that makes me think Raven will be introduced in Season 4, but –
She could definitely be Zatanna’s new protégé or at least one of them. And, while in the comics Zatanna and Raven haven’t always gotten along – there’s no reason that has to be the case in YJ. Plus, in Bombshells, Raven is Zatanna’s pseudo/adopted daughter.
Though, I think Raven being the protégé of Doctor Fate might work a bit better.
Also, in regard to my personal theory that magic will become more prominent, Raven would be a great way to go about doing that, especially with her wide range of powers and abilities.
While, I don’t think a story needs Trigon to have Raven – her being the daughter of one of the great evils of the universe, could certainly be a bonding element for her and the other heroes who also have supervillain relatives.
Plus, Raven being the portal to Trigon (this seemingly unstoppable force) could be something interesting to explore in regards to Darkseid’s and the Light’s plans. Maybe Darkseid and the Light would perceive Raven as a major threat and want to get rid of her and perhaps even the good guys would also see her as a threat that needs to be stopped.
There’s just so much that YJ could do with Raven. And while I would love for her a main or secondary character, I think she could be an interesting neutral party or a single-episode character.
--
There are many other magical characters that could be introduced to YJ, but it feels silly to list a whole bunch of characters, just because they have magic.
Part V: Random Characters
     Rose Wilson/Ravager and Joe Wilson/Jericho
Tumblr media
Two of Deathstroke’s children who operate as heroes. I can see a lot being done with these two in YJ, especially with Deathstroke being a member of the Light. They could potentially bond with the other characters who also have supervillain parents and maybe even bond with Tara over the terrible parenting skills of Deathstroke. .
Natasha Irons/Steel aka Starlight aka Vaporlock
Tumblr media
Natasha is the niece of John Henry Irons/Steel who had a very minor role in Season 3, but nonetheless was introduced to the audience. In addition, Natasha has been associated with Infinity Inc, Lex Luthor’s group of “superheroes” who were also introduced in Season 3.
And while I could be mistaken, as I don’t know much about her, when she was part of Infinity Inc., she was injected with a serum that unlocked her meta-gene, giving her powers.
Natasha could possibly be introduced in Season 4, as a lot of the elements to her story, are already part of Young Justice.
Green Lanterns
I think there’s a decent chance of us meeting a new Green Lantern, especially a younger one - as they would be a member of the Covert Team or the Outsiders.
     Jessica Cruz/Green Lantern
Tumblr media
She's recently been popularized or at least introduced to many fans through the show DC Superhero Girls (2019) and I think if there was a combination of that version and her comic book counterpart – you could have a really compelling character for YJ.
In the comics, Jess suffers from extreme anxiety, which is such an interesting and unique folly for a Green Lantern to have. And, I just think there’s a lot of story potential to be explored in that dilemma.
     Keli Quintela/Teen Lantern
Tumblr media
From what I’ve seen of Keli, I think she could be a fun addition. Just for the sheer fact that she uses the Green Lantern power completely different than every other Lantern we’ve seen – that alone is enough reason for her to be added.
     Kyle Raynor
Tumblr media
One of the major Green Lanterns of DC. Like the two ladies above, there’s nothing specific with what we’ve been given so far in YJ to indicate he’ll be included, but I just think because of his status among fans, if the show was to introduce another GL – he has a decent shot.
     Vic Sage/Question
Tumblr media
Since Season 1, I thought Question would be a great addition to the hero side – as the typical conspiracy stuff he obsesses over and discovers to be true, actually does align with what The Light has consistently been doing.
In general, he would be a fun character to add. Also, if we’re thinking of potential new protégés - Vic Sage could be the current Question and there could be a young (or at least somewhat young) Renee Montoya - under his care/tutelage. Or Renee could just be Question - either works for me.
I loved Question in JLU and would love to see him again.
Finally,
Wally West/ Kid Flash (former)
Tumblr media
I think there’s a very good chance we’ll see the return of Wally in Season 4. Especially since Season 3 left us with many little hints that he’s not really dead.
Also, in regards to the idea that the tagline of “Phantoms” could be about the team’s personal ghosts haunting them, well Wally is a ghost for many of our characters - so that fits rather perfectly.
Or, maybe he ended up in the Phantom Zone. Or if ‘Phantoms’ is referring to more literal ghosts, even that still works in regards to Wally, as he’s presumed dead. Or maybe, he was jumped through time and somehow ended up in the 31st century (w/ the Legion of Super-Heroes).
Maybe I’m wrong, but it just seems very likely Wally will be returning.
--
And now we’re finally done.
As I’ve mentioned before, this is just my own speculation and I’m sure I’ve missed several characters. Also, I obviously don’t think all of these characters will be introduced in Season 4, but to me they all have somewhat of a chance.
And yeah...that’s it.
I hope you enjoyed this extremely long list of characters who I think could be introduced in Season 4 of Young Justice.

‘Love Boat,’ ‘Mary Tyler Moore’ star Gavin MacLeod dies at 90
Tumblr media
By Associated Press
| May 29, 2021 at 2:44 PM CDT - Updated May 29 at 5:15 PM
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Gavin MacLeod, the veteran supporting actor who achieved fame as sardonic TV news writer Murray Slaughter on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and stardom playing cheerful Capt. Stubing on “The Love Boat,” has died. He was 90.
MacLeod died early Saturday at his home in Palm Desert, California, said Stephanie Steele Zalin, his stepdaughter. She attributed his death to his age, saying he had been well until very recently.
“He had one of the most amazing, fun blasts of a life of anybody I know. He enjoyed every minute of it,” Steele Zalin said. “I don’t even think in his wildest dreams he dreamt of the life that he ended up having and creating.”
She called him the “best, sweetest, purest guy.”
Ed Asner, who played opposite MacLeod on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” said on Twitter that “my heart is broken. Gavin was my brother, my partner in crime (and food) and my comic conspirator.”
Tumblr media
Known to sitcom fans for his bald head and wide smile, MacLeod toiled in near anonymity for more than a decade, appearing on dozens of TV shows and in several movies before landing the part of Murray in 1970.
He had originally tested for Moore’s TV boss, Lou Grant, the role that went to Asner. Realizing he wasn’t right for playing the blustery, short-tempered TV newsroom leader, MacLeod asked if he could try instead for the wisecracking TV news writer, his jokes often at the expense of the dimwitted anchorman Ted Baxter.
“The Mary Tyler Moore Show” was a smash from the start and remains a classic of situation comedies. It produced two spinoffs, “Rhoda” and “Phyllis,” starring Valerie Harper and Cloris Leachman, respectively, who had portrayed Mary’s neighbors.
Tumblr media
It was still top-rated when Moore, who played news producer Mary Richards, decided to end it after seven seasons.
MacLeod moved on to “The Love Boat,” a romantic comedy in which guest stars, ranging from Gene Kelly to Janet Jackson, would come aboard for a cruise and fall in love with one another.
Although scorned by critics, the series proved immensely popular, lasting 11 seasons and spinning off several TV movies, including two in which MacLeod remained at the cruise ship’s helm. It also resulted in his being hired as a TV pitchman for Princess Cruise Lines.
“The critics hated it. They called it mindless TV, but we became goodwill ambassadors,” he told the Los Angeles Times in 2013.
Among his final TV credits were “Touched by An Angel,” “JAG” and “The King of Queens.”
MacLeod’s lighthearted screen persona was in contrast to his private life. In his 2013 memoir, “This Is Your Captain Speaking,” MacLeod acknowledged that he had struggled with alcoholism in the 1960s and 1970s. He also wrote that losing his hair at an early age made it hard for him to find work as an actor.
“I went all over town looking for an agent, but no one was interested in representing a young man with a bald head,” he wrote. “I knew what I needed to do. I needed to buy myself a hairpiece.” A toupee changed his luck “pretty quickly.” By middle age, he didn’t need the toupee.
In a 2013 interview with The Associated Press, MacLeod frequently invoked the word “grateful” as he reflected on his born-again Christian faith, surviving two heart attacks and his robust life.
“That’s a big word in my life. I’m just so grateful I’ve had another day, another day, another day, and that my kids are doing so well,” he said.
MacLeod, whose given name was Allan See, took his first name from a French movie and his last from a drama teacher at New York’s Ithaca College who had encouraged him to pursue an acting career.
After college, the native of Mount Kisco, New York, became a supporting player in “A Hatful of Rain” and other Broadway plays, and in such films as “I Want to Live!” and “Operation Petticoat.”
He made guest appearances on TV shows throughout the 1960s, including “Hogan’s Heroes,” “Hawaii Five-O” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show.” He also appeared on “McHale’s Navy” from 1962 to 1964 as seaman Joseph “Happy” Haines.
Tumblr media
The reason MacLeod reluctantly signed up for the 42 weeks of guaranteed work on McHale’s Navy was because he was anxious about how he was going to make the payments on his new house in Granada Hills .
“I had like two lines a week … I started to feel sorry for myself, I started to drink and I became very, very unhappy,” he said in the TV Archive interview. “As an actor I felt I was going down the tubes.”
MacLeod said he put his foot on the brakes moments before driving his car off a cliff near Mulholland Drive.
He implored producer Eddie Montagne to let him off the show. “And then Robert Wise called me to do The Sand Pebbles in China with my old friend, Steve McQueen,” he said. “So my career started again, I had an identity, and I started to feel good about myself.”
One major role he auditioned for: Archie Bunker in “All in the Family.” But he quickly realized that the character, immortalized by Carol O’Conner, was wrong for him. “Immediately I thought, ‘This is not the script for me. The character is too much of a bigot.’ I can’t say these things,” MacLeod wrote in his memoir.
Other movie credits included “Kelly’s Heroes,” “The Sand Pebbles” and “The Sword of Ali Baba.”
MacLeod had four children with his first wife, Joan Rootvik, whom he divorced in 1972. He was the son of an alcoholic, and his drinking problems helped lead to a second divorce, to actor-dancer Patti Steele. After MacLeod quit drinking, he and Steele remarried in 1985.
Raised Catholic, he credited Steele for their shared born-again faith. The couple hosted a Christian radio show called “Back on Course: A Ministry for Marriages.”
Besides his wife, MacLeod’s survivors include his children, three stepchildren, 10 grandchildren and his first great-grandchild, who arrived in December, Steele Zalin said.

Hello Boo, I'm the one whom sent you the teaser of GK som time ago.
After today's episode it seems like now we know when that scene is going to happen.
what do you think it will be?
I adore your opinions.
Oh, hi! Thank you! :)
Haha, I definitely sat up and took notice at the lighting in the preview. It's time for the club/dancing scene! I'm honestly not sure what it'll be... I really hadn't expected Duela/Turner to happen this quickly, so I wonder if Sharper is up next. It's hard to interpret those few frames from the trailer as anything other than the start of something more explicitly romantic, but the timing of it is the question, both in terms of the individual ep as well as the whole season.
If the club scene is early on, as the preview made it seem, I just don't see how it'll be, what, a confession? A kiss? Because then what's the rest of the ep for? Certainly not them being just happy off together, right, even though we didn't see any of them in the rest of the preview. Most TV eps are structured so that you have the first parts of it setting up the plot and asking questions that the last scenes then resolve and answer and you get your fade to black. Like with Duela and Turner in ep 10, though, you know, I would have expected a scene with Carrie and Turner to cap off their earlier fight. If not an apology, then at least a thank you for saving his life and risking major damage to her relationship with her mom. Maybe the next ep...or not, if it's gonna be multi-ep, it may take a while for Turner to soften.
Speaking of apologies, Stephanie has been pretty forgiving of Harper's sniping but it's clearly hitting harder now that they've actually been getting along. How are they gonna get from that to where they're dancing? Maybe Harper's nicer and Stephanie takes advantage, or she might just ignore Harper's attitude and pull her into a dance? So many possibilities! Oh, I wonder if Harper finds out that Stephanie turned down Turner?? But anyway, I do think Harper should apologize to Stephanie at some point. Not just because she doesn't know what Stephanie's actually going through at home, but because even if Stephanie's life was perfect, she just doesn't deserve being treated like that. Ah, though, given we saw just how bad the situation is with Stephanie's parents, that has to come up again and I wonder if this time the rest will find out and Harper will realize how wrong she's been.
But to go back to the dance, if it is romantical, I feel like either it'll get interrupted or something else will come up during the ep, hopefully to be resolved by the end. If it does explicitly go romantic this ep, I wonder what that leaves for the last two eps. There's so much other plot to deal with, including Stephanie having to deal with Brody...dying? Being resurrected? Being resurrected as the Talon? And I'm really hoping the group's able to clear their names by the end of this season, but I fear the current vigilantes-wanted-for-murder angle is too good for the writers to give up so quickly.
It'd be pretty funny, lol, if after all this the dance ends up being mostly fun and playful from Stephanie's side while Harper is internally panicking like crazy and then we have to wait for more.

Finally (Jason Todd x Reader)
After the Reader is dumped by her boyfriend, Jason comforts her, he finally admits his feelings for her. SMUT - Rated T
This is my first SMUT, let me know what you think! :D
April 8th, 2020
For the last few weeks, Bruce had been planning a party for Alfred’s Birthday. It wasn’t going to be a surprise, nothing got by Alfred anymore. He wasn’t surprised when Bruce asked Selina to marry him, he wasn’t surprised when Dick left Kori to be with Barbara, and then proposed to her, and he wasn’t surprised when Tim and Stephanie announced they had been dating for weeks before they decided to tell anyone. It didn’t surprise him, because he knew.
He knew Bruce had been up to something in the early days of the party planning, and but Bruce knew that Alfred couldn’t be surprised anymore, so they had been discussing plans for the party. Alfred didn’t want a big party; he was starting to have trouble remembering names of some people he hadn’t seen in a few years and told Bruce that he didn’t want to embarrass himself. No, he was more than happy to just be around his loved ones; Bruce had arranged for Julia to come over from England and he’d prepared one of the many spare rooms for her.
Dick and Barbara were coming over, Jason, Stephanie, Harper, Kate, Y/N, Luke and Lucius Fox and Duke Thomas were all coming over as well. Bruce had Tim, Damian and Cassandra cleaning the house all day whilst he and Selina prepared the food and they let Alfred have the day to himself.
5PM, and Bruce had everyone getting dressed; he wore his usual suit and tie and Selina went with her black dress and silver necklace. Tim and Damian both wore a suit and tie, Tim making sure to apply extra cologne, which Damian complained about. And Cassandra wore a black dress, like Selina’s; they had been shopping the week before and Selina helped her pick out a dress.
Just after 6PM, the car Bruce had sent to pick Julia up from the airport had arrived. She was delighted to see her father and wished him ‘Happy Birthday’ before she Selina led her to the bedroom she’d be staying in, so she could get washed and dressed for the evening. Just after Julia had arrived, Dick and Barbara arrived, followed by Jason.
“Barbara, let me see the ring again.” Selina said when Dick hung up their coats. Dick and Barbara’s engagement may not have surprised Alfred, but the huge ring he’s bought her surely did; it was an 9 carat rose gold ring with a solitaire diamond, it was gorgeous and Selina and the other girls all admired it.
Jason hug up his coat and looked eagerly around the living room. “Alright, Jason?” Bruce asked, placing a hand on his shoulder and put a glass of whisky in his hand and gave him a warm smile. Jason nodded and took the glass. “She’s not here yet.” Bruce said, lowering his voice, Jason’s eyes widened, and he looked at Bruce, “Who are you talking about?” Jason asked, quickly.
“Y/N.” Bruce smirked. “Why would I be looking for her?” Jason asked, “She’s got a boyfriend.” He said, bitterness thick in his voice. “Because you like her.” Bruce said. “I do not.” Jason scoffed; Bruce smiled. “Why wouldn’t you like her?” Bruce asked, “She’s gorgeous and she has a great personality.” He said.
“And she had a boyfriend.” Jason said firmly, “Let it go, Bruce. I don’t like her that.”
“Hey there, little brother.” Dick smiled as he patted Jason on the back and taking a swig of his drink. “Dick.” Jason muttered, Dick laughed, Barbara came up behind Dick and put a hand on his shoulder, she stood up on her tiptoes and pressed a kiss to his cheek, and Dick smiled.
Jason mentally scoffed at the two of them, it had been years since he’d been in a relationship and he was glad he’d gotten out of it. A few weeks after the breakup, he met Y/N. He met her in a book shop where she was looking for a crime novel, Jason thought it was fate as he was also there looking for a crime novel and he fell in love with her instantly. He was expecting a boyfriend when she told him she was there to pick someone up, he couldn’t believe his luck when Barbara appeared and announced to Jason that Y/N was her and Stephanie’s new roommate.
Dick and Barbara got back together not long after and Jason planned on asking Y/N on a date, but he feared rejection.
One night on patrol, he forgot he left his comm on and muttered to himself about asking you on a date, Dick was listening in on Jason and intended on teasing Jason about it. But Dick later learned from Barbara that Y/N had been seeing someone who worked in the Iceberg Lounge. And Jason had finally built up the courage to ask you on a date when Dick broke the news to him; Jason was utterly devastated.
He scolded himself for not asking you out sooner, and he only hoped that your boyfriend was treating you the way he would treat you.
Less than 2 years later, he’s still hung up on you and has never felt the same way about any other woman.
They sat down for a drink, and Alfred came in with his arm around Julia. Kate had arrived with Luke and Lucius, and then Duke arrived. Bruce and Selina were making their way around the guests, offering drinks while Alfred spoke to everyone. Jason noticed that Tim was becoming impatient waiting for Stephanie, and he mocked him.
Finally, they arrived, Tim ran to the foyer and greeted Stephanie. Jason stayed in the living room and waited for you to come in. Harper stepped in followed by Tim and Stephanie, arms wrapped around each other. But you didn’t follow, he thought maybe you were hanging up your coat, or you’d gone to the bathroom. But a few minutes later, you still hadn’t arrived.
“Where’s Y/N?” Jason asked, Barbara looked around, “I don’t know, Jay.” She said. “Maybe she’s running late?” Dick suggested. “No.” Jason muttered. “No, it’s not like her to be late for anything.” Barbara said, she climbed off the couch and went over to Stephanie, who was wrapped in Tim’s arms, both drinking champagnes.
She came back a few minutes later, looking unhappy. “What’s the matter?” Jason asked, quickly standing to his feet. “Steph said Y/N is at home; Jamie broke up with her.” Barbara said heavily. “What?” Jason asked. “Stephanie said Y/N found out Jamie was cheating on her, and then he dumped her.” Barbara said. “Tell Bruce and Alfred I’m sorry.” Jason said, before he ran out of the living room, grabbed his jacket and ran out of the house.
Dick and Barbara noticed the talking quietened down when the sound of Jason’s motorcycle revving was heard outside, and Bruce eyed Dick and Barbara.
Jason pulled up outside your apartment building, he trudged up the stairs in his tight-fitting suit trouser which he sworn he’d never wear again, but he did promise Bruce he’d try for Alfred.
He got up to your apartment and he knocked on the door, “Y/N.” He said, and knocked again, “It’s me, it’s Jason. Open up.” He knocked on the door again and heard movement on the other side. The handle turned and the door slowly opened. Jason saw you; you leant against the door frame, tears streaming down your face and your hair messy. “What do you want?” You asked. “I heard about Jamie.” He said sympathetically, you looked at the floor and sighed. “I’m sorry Y/N, he’s a scumbag and he didn’t deserve you.” Jason said.
You pushed the door open and turned back to your apartment, Jason followed you in and closed the door behind him. You slumped onto the couch and brought you knees up to your chest. Jason sat next to you.
“So, what happened?” He asked. “Why do you want to know?” You asked, leaning to the coffee table and pick up a glass of whisky and drained it. “Because you’re here on your own, and you obviously need someone to talk to.” Jason said. You sighed and put the glass back on the coffee table and leant back on the couch.
You cleared your throat, “You know I met him at the Iceberg lounge?” Jason nodded. “Do you know how many women go there every night?” You asked, Jason sighed, “I guess a lot.” You chuckled. “Yes, a lot, but not all of them are single.”
“I had my suspicions about him, he didn’t return many of my calls and he barely text me.” You said. “Do you remember when we met at the bookshop, and there was that girl who kept dropping all the books?” You asked, Jason nodded, “Yeah.” He said. “That’s Emma, she started working there the day before we met. She went out to the Iceberg Lounge with her boyfriend the other day. Jamie was working at the bar and a couple of girls were flirting with him. She thought it was strange, but she thought perhaps it happened to all the bartenders.” You wiped your eyes noticed Jason was listening intently.
“She kept her eye on him and she saw him get in a taxi with one of the girls. She took a picture of him and sent it me. I called him the next day, he answered, and I asked him to meet me at the coffee house. I asked him if he was cheating on me, and I showed him the picture Emma sent me. He told me that it was just one night and didn’t mean anything, I didn’t believe him, and I asked him if it was only that one time, and he said no.”
Tears fell from your eyes and you heard Jason sigh as he put an arm around you shoulder. “He told me he was planning on breaking up with me anyway, so it didn’t matter.” You cried, Jason pulled you close to his chest and stroked your hair. “It’s ok.” He whispered, “He didn’t deserve you anyway.”
“I gave him nearly 2 years of my life, and for what?” You asked, “How long was he cheating on me? Was everything he ever said to me a lie?”
Jason held you tighter, “Why are you here on your own anyway?” He asked, you sniffed, “The girls wanted to stay but I told them I’d be fine on my own. Why are you here?”
“You can’t be on your own right now.” He said. “I know that.” You said, “You said that when you came here, but why you?” You asked. Jason looked deep into your eyes, he’d spent many hours imagining having you in his arms, and here he was right now, holding you.
“Jason?” You asked. “Yes.” He asked dreamily. “Why did you come here?” You asked, he didn’t say anything, instead he slowly leant in and captured your lips with his. Surprised, you remained still until his lips moved against yours and you melted into his kiss. You could taste whisky on his breath, but he was so gentle; and then he pulled away.
“Was that why?” You asked, Jason nodded, “Yes.” He said, leaning back in to kiss you again, but you turned away. “I’m sorry.” He muttered. “How long, Jason?” You asked, he sighed, “Remember the day we met in the bookshop?” He asked, your eyes widened, “That long ago?” You asked, he nodded.
“How come you never told me?” You asked. “I wanted to, for so long. But when I finally built up the courage to ask you, Dick told me you were seeing someone.” Jason said, he stared at the blank TV screen, you sighed. “Well then, I guess this works out for us both then.” You said, Jason looked up at you, “Huh?”
“I-when I first me you, I liked you.” You admitted, “But, Barbara, Stephanie and I went to the Iceberg Lounge and Stephanie convinced me to talk to Jamie, she said he kept looking at me. After spoke for a while, he gave me his number. I met him at the coffee house and that was pretty much it.” You said.
Jason pressed his lips to your forehead, “How did you feel about him?” He asked, you shrugged, “I don’t know. It felt weird being with him at first, but I got used to it.” You said. “That doesn’t sound very convincing.” Jason said. “Did you really like being with him?” He asked.
“I guess, it was just nice to have someone around.” You said, “How did you feel when he kissed you?” Jason asked, you looked up at him and narrowed your eyes, but honestly, how did you feel? Thinking about it, you felt nothing when Jamie kissed you. When you slept together you didn’t enjoy it the way you should have.
“I didn’t feel anything.” You muttered. “Did you feel anything when you kissed me?” Jason asked, you looked up at him and smiled gently. “I don’t know.” You said, your eyes glancing to his lips before looking back to his eyes, before either of you could say anything, you leant forward and kissed Jason.
Jason kissed back, as you’d hoped he would. His lips were soft, and you could still taste the whisky on him. You felt his tongue brush against your lips, you moaned as it slid into your mouth and collided with your own. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and he pulled you close to him. He lifted you off the couch and onto his lap. “Jay.” You mumbled. “Hmm.” He groaned, pulling his lip away from yours only to trace kisses along your cheeks. “Nothing.” You smiled, and lowered your head onto Jason’s shoulder, and he chuckled, “Alright then.”
You pushed his blazer off and started to undo his tie, Jason began kissing your neck and trailed kissed down to your shoulder and began nipping at the skin there, making you groan. Jason’s hands went under your t-shirt and he began to lift it up, but you stopped him. “What?” He asked. “I’m not wearing a bra.” You said, your cheeks turning red. Jason smirked, “One less thing I have to take off.” You blushed heavily and giggled at his comment; you let him lift your t-shirt off and he stared at your breasts with a grin spreading across his face.
His warm hands cupped them both as he continued nipping at your shoulder and working his way up to your lips. You began to unbutton his shirt and pulled it off him, and you stared at some of the scars scattered on his body, but you could hardly concentrate as his hands began squeezing your breasts firmly, and he pulled you closer to him and took one of your nipples into his mouth your head fell back and you groaned loudly.
He began to stand up, you went to climb off him so he could stand, but he wouldn’t let you go. He finally got to his feet and stepped away from the couch, “Which bedroom is yours?” He asked against your lips. “On the left.” You groaned.
Jason carried you and pushed open the bedroom door and kicked it shut behind him. He laid you down on the bed and hovered over you. “You have no idea how long I’ve dreamt of this.” He smiled, you chuckled and reached your hands up to his neck and you pulled him down to you.
You felt his erection press against your stomach, and you groaned again. His hand slid down your stomach and slid under the waist band of your sweatpants. You gasped when you felt his hand slide under the fabric of your underwear and his fingers brushed against your wetness.
He pecked at your neck as you panted under him and he slowly inserted one finger. He lifted his head up from your neck and he watched you. “What?” You asked, then gasped as you felt him push another finger in, Jason chuckled, “You’re so beautiful.” He smiled, you giggled, “Shut up.” You gasped as his fingers moved quickly.
“Y/N.” Jason groaned. “Hmm…” You muttered. “Did Jamie ever do this to you?” He asked, his voice was thick, and you sensed bitterness in his voice as he mentioned Jamie. You shook your head, and you winced when Jason thrust his fingers in further and faster. “I said, did Jamie ever do this to you?” He asked again.
“No!” You shouted, “He didn’t.” Jason chuckled in your ear, “That’s what I wanted to hear.” He growled and he continued with his thrusts. You unbuckled his belt and the button on his pants and reached into his boxers and grabbed his erection, making Jason gasp. You giggled at his reaction, and you began to jerk him off.
Jason growled in your ear, “Y/N…don’t stop.”
“You like that?” You asked, sensing your orgasm. “I like that a lot.” He groaned, lowering his head to take a nipple into your mouth and bit gently onto it, and that threw you over the edge. Your head flung back, and you came all over his fingers as Jason sucked on your nipple.
Jason pulled his fingers out of you and brought them to his lips and licked his fingers clean of you. You continued jerking him until he was leaking precum. He pulled your sweatpants and underwear down and removed your hands from his hardness. Then he pulled his own pants and boxers down, leaving him in just his socks which he didn’t bother to remove.
He hovered over you, teasing your entrance with his penis, “Go on.” You smiled, he smiled down at you and brought his lips down to yours and you felt him push gently into you. You hissed, but reassured Jason to keep going. Once he was in fully and you were adjusted to him, he began to pull out and push back in, slowly.
“Jason.” You gasped, “Jay.”
“Y/N.” He groaned into your neck. “Did it ever feel this good with Jamie?” He asked. “No!” You groaned. “He didn’t feel this good, huh?” Jason asked. “No, he didn’t.” You groaned. “That’s good.” He growled, picking up the pace and you panted under him. “God you look so beautiful.” He smiled, your fingers tangled themselves in his hair and tugged on his dark locks.
Jason groaned and began moving faster and faster, you felt yourself begin to unfold, and at the sound of your moans and groans, Jason was also close.
“Jay.” You gasped, “I-I’m so-”
“Uh-hu, me too.” He groaned, kissing your jawline. “Jay, I’m going to-” You were cut off by Jason’s growl in your ear, “Me too, Y/N. Together?” He asked. You nodded, “Ok.” You smiled. Jason’s lips captured yours and he continued his thrusts until you both came together.
Jason’s head fell onto your shoulder as you creamed him, and he came into you. “Y/N.” He moaned, “Y/N.” He moaned again, “I like saying your name, Y/N.”
“I like hearing it, Jason.” You smiled when he stopped moving and he started to pull out of you. “No!” You exclaimed, “Stay there for bit.” You said, you blushed but you didn’t want to not feel him yet. “Ok.” He said, settling himself back down and laying his head on your chest, and listened to your heart beating.
You brushed your fingers through his thick hair and kissed his forehead. “Jason” You said. “Yeah?” He asked. “Do the others know you came here?” You asked, Jason looked up at you. “I don’t know.” He said. “When Barbara told me that Jamie broke up with you, I came straight here. My guess is Dick and Barbara know, maybe Bruce too.” He muttered. “Your skin is so soft.” He said, brushing his hands up and down your arms and he pressed his lips to your shoulder.
“Jason, we should probably get dressed.” You said. “No. Let’s stay here.” Jason groaned. “Jason, we should go to Alfred’s party.” You said, Jason groaned, “Fine.” He said, gently pulling out of you and he climbed off. He picked up his clothes and began to get dressed, then he went out to the living room to let you get cleaned and dressed.
When you were dressed, you stepped into the living room and Jason’s jaw dropped when he saw you. “Oh, my god.” He gasped, “You look beautiful.”
You admired the dress you had picked out, it was a choice between a sparkly blue cocktail dress, which to be fair you were going to throw away after Jamie had dumped you, it was him who’d picked it out, you always thought it showed too much cleavage.
So, you went with a dress your father had picked out for you when he planned your mother’s 50th Birthday party. It was a knee length black dress and sparkled subtly. It was deep cut at the back but didn’t show you off too much.
“Thank you.” You smiled as you pulled on your black dress coat.. “Come on, let’s go.” You grabbed your keys from the bowl Stephanie had put on the shelf next to the door and had decorated it with glitter, so it read KEY BOWL in wonky writing.
When you got outside, you were about to hail a cab, but Jason grabbed your arm and motioned to his motorbike. “No, Jay I can ride on that.” You said. “You’ll be fine, I promise.” He said, he climbed onto his bike and you reluctantly climbed onto the back. “Just hold on tight, we’ll be there in no time.” He said softly.
“Ok.” You sighed, wrapping your arms around his waist and laying your head on his shoulder, he started the bike and before you knew it you and Jason were speeding through the city, back to Wayne Manor.

In Numbers We Trust
Summary:
Prompt master: @outoftheframework
I like the concept of each of the kids having a number or having a thing where they count off. Not in a demeaning or dehumanizing way at all, just more so to use in dangerous situations. For example, a bomb goes off on patrol, and to quickly see if everyone is okay, the kids (including Steph and Babs) automatically start counting one at a time. Bruce can breathe again once the count reaches eight. This tradition begins to carry over to civilian life when the kids yell numbers across a crowded gala after the power goes out.
Beta Agenthandler
Bruce never planned on starting a family. He made a vow to live for justice. He would be the force Gotham needed. He would be the forever bachelor. Justice was his Lady Love.
But 90% of life’s plan was just that—a plan. Bruce would never have guessed he'd end up taking in a boy who called himself Dick Grayson. Technically his ward, but Bruce suffered a mid-life crisis every day from thereon, wondering whether it was the right choice for him to adopt a kid—or why anyone sane would let Bruce Wayne adopt any kid in the first place. It was a testament to Dick’s own awesomeness that he grew up to be a mostly functional adult—Bruce definitely wasn’t.
After Dick, he recruited an amazing girl named Barbara Gordon as another sidekick. She was not officially his adopted daughter, but by day two of working together Bruce registered her in his little hind brain as “my kid.”
Then another. Jason Todd not only stole the Batmobile’s tires but also Batman’s heart. The little boy taught Bruce more about street-smarts and how to be a better person right until his death. His realized depth of parental love made him wonder why he ever adopted anyone in the first place—and ended up losing them that way.
After what he thought was the last, another one came into his life without invitation. Timothy Drake was a genius detective. Out of his first four—yes, Bruce could still count—Tim was the most similar to Bruce. They had the same kind of upbringing amidst the Gotham Elite, they were both highly focused and detail oriented individuals. Tim was even smarter than Bruce, and he was the sole reason Bruce could continue functioning after Jason’s death. Tim was also the only one to believe he was still alive and brought Bruce back from when he was lost in time.
After Time was Stephanie Brown. A cheerful ray of sunshine that had her own worries, but could function the best out of all his children. She had the kind of light sarcastic humor to brighten up Bruce’s darker days. He gained a third daughter, Cassandra Cain, the most accomplished amongst his children in terms of stealth and combat, also his one darling princess.
Then Bruce was introduced to his—one and only—blood son, a little baby assassin who had the unfortunate tendency to stab first ask later. By this time, Bruce had a better handle on raising children highly susceptible to raising hell and violence (read: still an incompetent parent, but he knew how to tune out their nagging) and had no choice but to assign Dick  with Damian’s education on humanities and socialization.
He also had Helena, Terry, Matt, Duke, and Harper.
Bruce lost count.
It was the ultimate testament to Bruce’s parenting skill. He sometimes couldn’t remember how many kids he had. He could lose them in a Walmart and forget he was missing one. But thankfully, he had a secret weapon.
Since Jason, he assigned them all numbers. Dick was one, Barbara was two, Jason three, Timothy four, Stephanie five, Cass six,  Damian seven—although he always said he was the first—Duke was eight, Harper nine, Terry ten, Matt eleven, and little Helena was twelve.
Imagine that. Bruce had twelve kids. What was his vow again? Lady Love Justice? Don’t know her.
It became sort of a tradition. When the kids entered the Wayne manor, each of them wrote their number on the info board down in the changing room. They were also listed on a desktop note of the BatComputer. It became a ritual in which the last child would add their newest sibling into the list, so they knew who the next number was supposed to be, and that next child would be who they were responsible for. Well, except Dick who accepted all of them as his baby chicks. The number also became a little part of their identity—each of them would put their numbers on everything they owned from their doors to their batarangs to the containers in the fridge.
Bruce, most importantly, used the numbering system to check in on them. It started when Penguin detonated a bank and his robins were scattered fighting all the hundred thugs Penguin hired to keep Batman busy. The blast stopped the fight and Bruce’s heart dropped when he realized his coms were damaged and he immediately couldn’t keep sight of them. He immediately tried to think what he could do, and when he did,  he shouted at the top of his lungs.
“KID COUNT!”
“One!” Nightwing shouted from the top of the next building. Apparently he flew off the bank’s  roof when he realised it was going to burst.
Oracle was two but he knew she was safe in the clock tower.
“Three,” Red Hood drawled. Bruce wondered why he joined in, but was thankful nonetheless.
“Four,” Red Robin shouted from the opposite direction, because he was the sensible one who directed the civilians and police to safety.
“Five!” Spoiler laughed and flew to his side. “That was a doozy!”
“Six,” Black Bat said as she appeared beside Spoiler where they shared a hi-five.
“Seven,” Robin pulled out his swords from a thug’s leg. “Father, I need to clean my sword immediately.”
“No stabbing, please.” “Too late.” Bruce groaned.
“...Eight?” Signal. He was still new to the numbering system.
Batman let go a deep relieved sigh.
The police and civilians who were fortunate to witness the scene, collectively said ‘Oh’. It became a trending twitter before Tim deleted the topic as much as he could.
********
The counting continued though. Citizens who have lots of children (such as parents, teachers, sometimes even the Police teams), realised it was a quick method to ensure update of their progeny/students/teams condition. So they  The counting became sort of a Gotham Trend and eventually enlisted into Gotham’s Emergency SOP. Imagine that, having too many kids to count gave birth to a crucial disaster first-aid first responder procedure.
In all actually, maybe that was one of the top major contributions Batman has given to his city.
********
The kids themselves slowly embraced the importance and fun of the numbers. It created a sort of camaraderie-- even when the numbers didn’t correlate with their height. It used to be a nice isoquant curve when they stood side by side. But after Jason’s growth spurt and Tim naught growth spurt, Steph finding high heels and Cass love for Anti-flood Boots, the nice isoquant curve just became a jagged line not unlike a heartbeat rate.
That aside, the numbering also slowly bled into their civilian lives:
1.
All of them counted before they entered the GothMart -- Alfred was there too, and suddenly Bruce became number 0. He was there to help Alfred because herding the kids was a massive job.
Dick was back for the weekend to spend time with his “babies” and refused to stay at home, because he wanted to sneak in his grocery list (gummy bears and cereals) into Bruce’s list so he could bring it back to Bludhaven and not spend a dime on it.
Jason was there because Alfred asked him for help--he was the only one out of the brood with cooking talent and generally all responsible in the kitchen, i.e. Alfred could trust Jason to use his kitchen without blowing it up (shoutout to Tim and Duke who blew the kitchen for the fifth time this year).
Barbara stayed at home, watching over their base, but she was ready with her surveillance just in case they lost one of the broods.
Tim was half dragged, because he had spent the last 30 hours awake doing Bruce-knew-what, and only agreed to be dragged with the promise of sweet, abominable GothMart coffee with pink glitter (a cheap imitation of Starbucks, really) because Tim was fabulous especially after thirty hours of no sleep. And the surprisingly awesome coffee was a dollar--what kind of frugal millionaire didn’t appreciate a dollar of drinkable coffee?
Steph was the one who dragged Tim, with the help of Cass who just returned from Hong Kong for the weekend. Steph wanted to buy some new bras for Cass, something cool and sexy she could enjoy immensely. Bruce was not privy in this knowledge.
Damian was there to ensure his embarrassment of siblings didn’t kill themselves or humiliate the family. Wayne was his legacy afterall, and all of them reflected on his legacy, whether he liked it or not. Duke, the only one whom he could tolerate outside Cassandra (Grayson was mother) just poked his cheek and grinned. Duke might be tolerable, but it didn’t mean Damian didn’t want to stab him sometimes (Drake, on the other hand, looked like a nice pincushion to stab his sword into).
They counted 0 to 8 before they entered, orchestrated by Alfred.
When they were ready for the checkout, 4, 5, and 6 were missing. Bruce finally found them at the children section, where Tim was busy defending his virginity from a Superboy Plushie, while Steph convulsed with laughter on the floor and Cass video-ed the entire thing.
Bruce refused to buy the cereals (Dick) / sexy lingerie (nope, nope, nope) / kitchen knife collection in black (Damian, as they didn’t need another stabby collection). But Bruce ended up buying the superboy plushie because it had been tainted (the store manager glared at him the whole check out time). At least Tim looked ashamed enough when he was handed the superboy plushie.
2.
The gala was in full swing, full of important people and not-so important moochies. Bruce was entertaining a group of usual donors (important and fun people!) while he saw Tim seriously discussing the stock exchange trends with several old, serious men. Dick was charming the usual group of ladies and young men, while Cass seemed to be hiding behind the potted plan.
Then, just like usual in Gotham, the lights went off. The room suddenly became dark and people started to scream.
“KID COUNT!” Bruce shouted. “Zero,” he added because of habit.
“One!” “Three!” “Four!” “Five and Six!” “Seven.” “Eight” “Nine.”
Wait, did he bring Harper with him? Harper was allergic to this kind of gala--and that was why he never fully adopted her into his Wayne name.
Oh well. The more number he got, the better.
Justice Lady love who?

Helena Kyle-Wayne History
The history of Helena Kyle-Wayne based on how I see her! Ties into this Events Timeline :) I might call this Batfam au Earth Never? Maybe? I’m kinda already attached to the name lol
Helena Martha Maria Wayne was born to Bruce Wayne, age 42, and Selina Kyle, age 45, on Earth Never-Two. Her grandfather Alfred Pennyworth was 67, her half-brother Damian Wayne was 13, her adopted brother Tim Drake was 21, her adopted brother and sister Jason Todd and Cassandra Cain were 24, and her adopted brother Dick Grayson was 29. Growing up she learned acrobatics from her eldest brother, how to hold a gun from Jason, how to be silent by her sister, hacking from Tim, animal taming and katana wielding from her favorite brother Damian, how to defend herself from her father, and how to be sneaky from her mother. Needless to say, from a young age, she was pretty skilled, and being raised in a house of detectives, them attempting to keep their secret lives as vigilantes from her didn’t work, as she knew about it from the age of 6 and onwards. By age 14, she became the new Robin under her father.
She was best friends with Kara Kent, aka Supergirl, who was a few years older than her, and Charles Bullock, aka Blackwing, who was also a few years older than her, and was an intern at the law firm created by her father, her eldest brother and a man named Arthur Cranston, aptly named the Cranston, Grayson and Wayne consumer research firm. The three made an excellent team, and were practically inseparable.
Aside from Kara and Charles, though, Helena greatly looked up to the woman who shared her name, Helena Bertinelli, aka the Huntress. This earned Helena the affectionate name of Little H, or Little Huntress, from Bertinelli and others. Helena as Robin often ended up shadowing Huntress more than Batman. She also got along really well with Charlotte “Charlie” Gage-Radcliffe, a young adult who was like a daughter to Bertinelli. It should be noted that the Birds of Prey never existed in this universe, and Barbara Gordon never became a superhero. In this universe, Charlie mimicked the identity of Huntress rather than Batgirl, before creating her own as Misfit. No Batgirls exist in this universe, but Stephanie Brown still became Spoiler- never Robin, Cassandra Cain simply became Black Bat and then Orphan, and Bette Kane never became a superhero, nor did Carrie Kelley, Tiffany Fox or Nell Little.
At one point, a man named Silky Cernak tried to blackmail and frame her mother for killing a cop as Catwoman, but with her and her family’s help, they cleared her name and revealed the truth, arresting Silky.
Eventually, when Helena was 16, a war against Apokoliptians, lead by Darkseid, started, which resulted in a war torn world. Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman were all killed during the war, as well as Tim Drake and Helena Bertinelli. Her family grieves them, and Dick takes up the mantle of Batman, and Damian makes his new superhero alias Redwing, a combination of Red Robin and Nightwing in honor of his brothers. Charlie became the new Huntress. By age 18, everything had way gotten worse, and Charlie was killed, and Selina soon followed. Helena then became Huntress, while Kara became Power Girl.
At age 20, she, Kara and Charles chased after someone who they assumed was Darkseid, but they would later find out was DeSaad. The trio attacked DeSaad, but in the process Helena entered a Boom Tube while Power Girl and Blackwing fought DeSaad. Helena would never know how the battle ended, though, as the Boom Tube sent her to Earth Never-Prime. She was stranded, and alone, in a world so similar to her own, but not war torn, and just slightly off. She was a Bat though, and she was well-trained. She laid low and studied the world, learning that Batman was still Bruce Wayne here- and that Bruce Wayne was still 42. And that she had never been (or simply yet to be) born, as Bruce and Selina were not even married like they were in her world, with Selina still acting as the criminal Catwoman. In this world, Darkseid had been defeated already.
She stole money from Wayne Enterprises to get by, just for meals, hotels, clean clothes, etc. Scrounging through Wikipedias can only get you so far, so she took to spying on her family and friends and other superheroes and... finds that she can’t handle it. For the most part, they look so happy. Yeah, Jason’s an asshole, and Damian’s so young and angst-y, but... They’re a family, not split by death and war. Every night, she seems to end up in tears, jealous of this world and wanting her world back- no, her family.
Her secrecy does not last long, as she can’t stop herself from jumping in to help her family (Batman, Robin, Nightwing) when they are attacked by the Joker. She attempts to run away after the battle, but her moves and tricks are the exact same as the Batfamily’s, so it ends up impossible for her to lose them. They interrogate her, and she ends up confessing she’s not from this universe. She tells them she’s a Huntress of another world, but not much else. They’re skeptical of her, seeing as the moves she used would indicate she was close enough to train under and with the Batfamily, so why would she be ‘a’ Huntress (of which they’ve only ever had one)? She asks if they could go to the Batcave or somewhere to talk, instead of staying out in the city. They agree, and ask her to lead them to the Batcave, which she does with ease.
There, she confesses more of her story, revealing she was the daughter of Selina and Bruce, and that Darkseid was currently waging war on her world- and winning. She allows them to run a DNA test on her, and the results match up. They believe her story. They offer to help her get back to her own world and also to house her while she’s here. She thanks them, and offers to help them patrol and protect Gotham in return.
Living in Wayne Manor was... weird, and more often than not she’d end up crashing at a hotel or something instead. Damian was 13, younger than her, and still very... well, Damian. And there was a kid that had never been apart of her family too, Duke Thomas, and also allies like Harper Row, Julia Pennyworth, Barbara Gordon, etc... And it was weird living among, to her, ghosts. Zombies. Dead people. She was afraid to get attached to any of them, because they weren’t hers, and she’d go back home, where some were dead or dying, and she’d mourn them all over again. Not to mention, Tim was now only 1 year older than her, Jason and Cass 4, and Dick just 9 instead of 29.... And Dick was even married to an alien princess named Koriand’r aka Starfire- where he was Barbara’s boyfriend in Helena’s world- and they had a daughter named Mar’i. And Jason had adopted a girl named Sasha, aka Scarlet. And, also, perhaps this stung most, that her best friend was no longer the same age as Helena. Which meant that even if Helena had been born in this world, she wouldn’t have been Kara’s friend. And similar with Charles, who was a simple citizen in this world.
While talking to this world’s version of her mother, Selina reveals to her that a Helena had been born in this world, but her father was Sam Bradley Jr. (deceased), and she was born nine-ten years ago. Her name was Helena Kyle, but since Selina was under the alias Irena Dubrovna at the time, her legal name was Helena Dubrovna. She had brown hair and green eyes rather than the black hair and blue eyes Helena Wayne had. Helena is surprised to know of this universe ‘her’, although really it’s her other universe half-sister. She wants to meet her, but Selina explains to her that after the villains Film Freak and Angle Man kidnapped and harmed Helena Kyle, she, Zatanna, and Bruce faked Helena’s death (and Irena Dubrovna’s) and put her up for adoption. To make sure no one could ever find Helena via Selina, Selina choose not to know who adopted her (if she officially got adopted at all and was not still in an orphanage). Helena Wayne accepts this and understands her reasoning. Even she had been kidnapped plenty of times back in her home world, Earth Never-Two.
It’s a year of living like this. She talks with the Selina Kyle of this world, with Helena Bertinelli, with Zatanna Zatara, with everybody. She still closes herself off though, calling Bruce “Uncle Bruce” to distance him and her father in her mind. By the end of the year, a part of her realizes she’s never going back... and another part wonders why she would even want to. She could have happiness here. But, at the same time, to give up her friendships with Power Girl and Blackwing? (And what if they were dead by now?) It’s difficult, but finally, with the advice from her other universe family, she decides she wants to try making a life here, just in case she really never can go back. Of course, Bruce offers to adopt her, but Helena can’t bring herself to fully accept this world’s Bruce as her dad yet, nor could she handle being official, legal siblings with her brothers and sister. She still hasn’t adjusted to them, how they are now, how young they all are, how younger Damian is. If anything, she’s most okay with Duke Thomas, someone she had never met in her universe.
To her surprise, as they contemplate making her a fake civilian identity, Selina offers to adopt Helena. Helena, after thinking it over, accepts. She would not have as much hounding from the press, from the media, from the public, as she would if she was adopted into the Waynes. She would not have to deal with the weirdness that was her alternate universe siblings as much, living with Selina. (Not that she needed to live with Selina, she was 21, after all, but Selina had told her that she was welcome to crash in her house anytime- an offer she often took up on when the Manor was stressing her out.) Selina was still a criminal in this universe, but she only robbed banks from time to time, really, nothing major, and she was slowly becoming more hero and ally than superthief by the time Helena had come to this world. Selina had been dead for only 2 years to Helena, while Bruce had been for 4 years, and had died when Helena was young and not used to death. Bruce’s death had a bigger impact on her (alongside Tim and Bertinelli’s), but with Selina, it was easy to imagine she had simply been gone for two years.
So, Helena became Helena Martha Maria Kyle, adopted daughter of Selina Kyle. She slowly built herself a civilian life, working for a law firm under Wayne Enterprises in honor of her friend Charles and his job. And a superhero life, too, as the Huntress. Of course, since Bertilleni was also known as the Huntress, Helena often went by Little Hunt. They called her Little H and Little Huntress at first, but it reminded her too much of her old world, that she requested they use Little Hunt instead. It was similar, of course, but just different enough. Just like this world was compared to hers.
She worked solo, with Catwoman, with the Batfamily, and with the Birds of Prey mostly. It was a challenge, she would say, to adapt back into the old rules of “No Killing”... It’s a dark secret of hers that she became more ruthless ever since the death of her father, blood soaking her hands. But she was almost relieved to be back to No Killing- as, to her, it meant no war. No death. No pain.
Catwoman seemed to reform completely right alongside her, and the day Bruce proposed to Selina, Helena couldn’t be more happier. She was finally ready to be officially apart of the Waynes again. Selina married Bruce, and Helena took on the Wayne name, becoming Helena Martha Maria Kyle-Wayne, loud and proud. It was weird, but somehow she got used to Damian being younger- and boy did she discover how fun it was to tease him. And alongside that, she got two new younger sisters too, in the form of Carrie Kelley and Alina Shelley-Wayne. Her family, she will say, was much, much more bigger than it had ever been in her own world.
Eventually, as years passed, she found herself more attached to this world than her war torn world. She often wonders, if given the chance, would she still choose to go back to her old world, her old family? It’s a question she can never answer. And one she might not have too, as the Kara of Earth Never-Two would eventually find a way onto Earth Never-One.

Summary: Tim hangs out with the youngest Avenger. A bromance is blooming.
Tim sighed into his mug of coffee. Everyone in his family - minus Stephanie and Babs, since they didn’t live at the manor -  had been gathered in the cave to discuss the ongoing conversation between some of the interdimensional visitors. They - consisting of Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, Steve Rogers, and Tony Stark - seemed to have been really freaked out by some of Jason’s snide comments, and were now discussing if the bats were in fact trustworthy.
Tim blamed Jason for this whole mess. Jason couldn’t hold his stupid tounge, so now Bruce had called everyone - after Cass told him what was happening -  together to spy on their guests and work out a plan.
Their conversation wasn’t that interesting either. It was everyone going back and forth, never changing their own arguments. The most interesting thing that happened was when Stark hopped on a computer and started to do research on them. Not that they found much.
“No way in f*** are we amicable!” Jason exclaimed when the article was brought up and read aloud.
“Aw, you sure little wing?” Dick asked, elbowing Jason.
“T-t,” Damian said, rolling his eyes. “Will you two imbeciles shut up? I’m trying to listen.”
Turns out there wasn’t much more. As soon as the Avengers dispersed, Tim turned off the computer. “Now what?”
Cass frowned. “They need trust. Show them.”
Bruce nodded. “Yes, it would be best if they trust us, as we are the ones sending them home. Lack of trust might provoke unnecessary responses from them. It would be best if we can work well together.”
“Show them.” Cass repeated vehemitaly.
“I agree with Cass,” Tim replied. “We shouldn’t just tell them to trust us. That could be taken quite badly. We need to show them.”
“How?” Duke asked. “I don’t know if you guys have noticed, but you are definitely not good at showing your emotions well.”
Bruce sighed heavily. “Yes, Duke, you have made that abundantly clear in the past.” Duke smiled at that, looking rather sheepish. Bruce frowned in concentration. “Let them make the first move. If they try to question you, don’t hold anything back. Try to be friendly.” Tim noticed he directed that last part at Damian and Jason.
“Don’t hold anything back?” Jason asked, an evil smirk growing on his face. Tim shuddered inwardly at whatever gruesome tale Jason was planning on sharing.
“Within reason,” Bruce growled.
Duke stood up. “Well, that sounds good for you guys, but I have Gotham to patrol.” Duke strolled off with a decidedly self satisfied smile on his face. He clearly thought that he was getting out of sharing his life story.
Bruce sighed once more. “Very well, Duke. Good luck.”
Duke nodded his thanks as he made his way to the changing rooms to get ready for his patrol.
*****
“Dude, this is incredible!” Peter had given Tim a chance to look at his web-shooters, and Tim was being a total fangirl over it.
“Thanks,” Peter replied, seeming quite proud. “The basic design is mine, Mr. Stark supplied some improvements though.”
Tim nodded as he continued to examine the device. “Are these veins turbine pumps?”
Peter grinned. “Yup! They compress the web fluid before shooting it out through the spinneret holes which cold-draws the solution and extrudes it through the air, where it solidifies.”
“And during the process the  nylon gains a four-fold increase in tensile strength?”
“Exactly!”
Tim shook his head at the brilliance. “Wow, this is utterly brilliant!”
“Thanks! Do you want to see the chemical formula?” Peter asked. He seemed really eager to talk about it with someone his own age.
“Of course!” Tim hit his forehead. “Gosh, I’m sorry! I completely forgot you came to me to see if we could make more.”
Peter shrugged, “no worries. I’m glad you like the devices.”
Tim reached over to one of the coffee tables in the sitting room they were occupying and handing it to Peter, who promptly began to write down the formula.
Upon seeing it, Tim gasped uncontrollably. “Oh my god, this is the greatest thing I have seen in a long time!” Peter had to be a genius to come up with this, Tim decided.
Peter grinned at Tim. “Really?”
“Totally!”
“You guys done fangirling?” A voice came from the door. “ ‘cause we have some people to decimate!”
Tim looked over to find Jason leaning against the doorframe, two nerf guns in hand.
“Decimate?” Peter asked.
Jason rolled his eyes. “Capture the flag on the back lawn in five. Bring whatever non-lethal weapons you want. You can get ‘em approved before the game starts.” And with that, he strolled off.
“You guys play Capture The Flag?” Peter looked excited.
Tim stood up, organizing the notes, then setting them aside. “Yup! It can get pretty wild though. Think you can handle it?”
Peter grinned. “I think so.”
*****
“Welcome to the 67th annual Bat Fa-”
“It's not annual and you know it Dick.”
Dick pouted as he looked over at Tim. “Come on, Timbo, let me have this!”
“Drake is correct, Grayson. You are acting idiotically.”
Tim glanced over at Damian. “You’re admitting I’m right?”
Damian glowered at his brother. “Of course not.” “But you jus-”
“Are we playing or not?” Someone had managed to rope Bruce into the game, but he was being pretty snippy about it.
Dick sighed, looking defeated. “Fine. Capture the flag. You all know how to play?” Everyone nodded, except Thor.
“I am unfamiliar with this specific midgardian game.”
Dick nodded. “Ok, that’s fine. Good chance to go over the rules anyway. There are two teams, each take one side of the playing area. So each team has a flag, or item of some sort that they each place in a visible yet defendable position. Part of the team defends their flag, while the other part attempts to steal their opponents’. If you get caught on the opposite team's territory, they put you in jail. Only one of your teammates can get you out, by tapping you. Get it?”
Everyone nodded. “Good. A few extra rules that must be followed,” Dick looked pointedly at Jason and Damian as he continued, “ include: no maiming. Serious injuries of most kinds are off limits. Lethal weapons are also out, unless you know how to use them nonlethally. You are also not allowed to leave the playing area at any point. Nor are you allowed to use cookies as bait in any traps. Especially Alfred’s cookies.”
Dick looked pointedly at Tim during the last rule, much to Tim’s chagrin. It had been one time!
“And finally, no touching Alfred’s shrubbery.” Everyone with the exception of the Avengers cringed at that. “Everyone understand?”
There was a chorus of “Yups” “Yes’s” and “f*** yeah, b****!” Tim didn’t need to be the world’s second greatest detective to guess where that last one came from.
“Good,” Dick said, grinning. “We’ll have two teams. Captains are Bruce and me. Let’s get into a line and start dividing.”
Tim got in line, grumbling slightly. A few of the Avengers had also joined, specifically Peter, Thor, and Banner. Tim wasn’t sure how much of a help Banner could be without “Hulking out” as Peter put it, but the guy seemed smart. It seemed like it would be an interesting game.
“Lil’ D!” Dick called, quite predictably. Damian grumbled and walked over to Dick’s side.
Bruce took longer to choose. He examined the faces of each person, one by one. “Tim.” Tim smiled, he had been expecting Dick to choose him, but with Bruce, Tim didn’t have to deal with the demon brat.
Dick chose Thor next, then Bruce chose Jason. They continued back and forth till Dick’s team consisted of Damian, Thor, and Banner. Bruce had chosen Tim, Jason, and Peter. Cassandra had opted to Referee the game, much to everyone’s relief. They could play everyone against Cass, and his sister would still win.
“Flags?” Cass asked once everyone had assembled with their teams.
“I got these from Alfred!” Dick said as he grabbed two large banners from beside a tree. One was Green, the other Blue.
Cass nodded. “You get Blue. Bruce, green.” Once Dick had handed the other banner to Bruce, Cass continued. “Ten minutes to plan and hide flags. Then go.”
They split up, Tim following right behind Bruce. “Ideas?” he asked when they were all in the cover of the trees that they had chosen for their side.
“The flag will go up in the old oak tree, as high as you can get it, Peter. I want Jason on Guard Duty near the tree, I’ll be farther out doing a border patrol. Tim and Peter, you’re both on infiltration duty. Skirt the sides as much as possible. Dick will most likely be trying to cross over, avoid him if you can. Watch out for Damian, too. He'll be joining Dick. Thor will most likely be guarding their flag along with Banner. He won’t be able to resist the pun. They should be pretty easy to take down.” Bruce paused for a moment, thinking. “Dick will probably place his banner somewhere near the westward fountain. Use the ivy wall to the east as cover.”
Everyone nodded, and separated. Peter scrambled up the oak tree with ease, and placed the banner at the literal top. It’d be almost impossible for anyone to reach it, but Tim knew Dick would love the challenge.
A couple minutes later, the guard routes were established, and Tim had shown Peter the way to the flag by drawing a diagram in the dirt. Tim quickly wiped it away, however, when Cass sounded an Airhorn. Tim had no idea where she had gotten it, but didn’t bother trying to figure it out. Tim sprinted to the side almost immediately, Peter right behind them. They wove through the trees, keeping to the shadows. Peter wasn’t nearly as stealthy as Tim, but they both kept out of sight.
Right as they were about to cross over the border, Tim stopped them. “Let’s get an aerial view before we proceed.”
“Sounds good,” Peter replied as they started to climb a nearby tree. Turns out it was the right choice, because they were awarded front row seats to Bruce grabbing Damian by his collar.
“Not today, Damian. You’re going to jail.” Bruce smiled fondly as he carried his youngest son away from the border and off to the previously chosen prison.
“Grayson!” Damian shreeked. “How dare you abandon me! Unhand me this instant, Father! Grayson! You shall rue the day I make my escape! This insult has not gone unnoticed! I refuse to be kept against my will by plebeians! You had better drop everything to assist me Grayson, or -”
Damian’s outraged voice slowly faded away as he was hauled off.
“Oof,” Peter said. “Think Dick will get him out?”
Tim snorted before shaking his head. “Knowing Dick, he’ll be remorseful for a bit before completely forgetting about the kid.”
Peter nodded. “Well, one less person we have to deal with, right?”
Tim grinned. “Yup! We should probably get going.”
*****
“Mmff! Mfffff-mmmf!”
“I think we did a good job, whattaya say, bug-boy?” Tim and Peter grinned down at a bound and gagged Thor and Banner. Both trying and failing to escape their bonds.
“I think we did quite well, bird-boy.” Peter replied. “But we should probably get going.”
Tim nodded as he plucked the banner from atop the fountain, right where Bruce said it would be.
“Let’s go!” they race off towards the border.
It didn’t take them long for them to reach the wide patch of grass marked with a hastily placed length of rope, but their path was blocked. Thor had managed to get out of Peter’s webs, and chased after them. He stood  facing them, his hammer out, pointing at their chests.
“Halt! I must not allow you any further.”
Tim grinned. “Bet I can take him down first.”
Peter grinned right back. “You’re on!”
Togather, they charged the norse god. Peter was flipped over Thor’s shoulder, shooting his webs out and pulling Thor’s helmet over his eyes, though he quickly pulled it up again. Tim unleashed a flurry of batarangs, which Thor dodged. This, however, set him off balance. Tim activated a smoke bomb, and expertly navigated the limited visuals to attack Thor, who was in the process of throwing Peter to the ground.
When the smoke cleared, Thor was once again on his back, taken down by Tim. Peter was also on his back.
“You okay there, Peter?”
Peter groaned and rolled over. “Yup. You won, though.”
Tim crowed. “Hah! Yeah, I did!” He offered his hand to his downed companion. You did a good job too though. We make a great team.”
Peter stood, and together they crossed over the border holding the banner just as Dick came out of the trees being chased by both Jason and Bruce.
“Aw, crap.” Dick said upon seeing Peter and Tim already back on their own territory.
Almost immediately, Cass appeared. A newly freed Banner also appeared. Well, he limped out of the trees.
“Team Grumpy Wins,” Cass says triumphantly. It took a moment for Tim to realise what she had said.
“Wait, I thought we didn’t use team names?”
Cass smiled and pointed at Bruce. “Grumpy.” She then turned to Dick. “Happy.”
Jason smirked. “That’s an accurate assessment.”
He and Cass high-fived.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Dick said good naturedly. “Good job guys. You up for another round?”
“Different teams this time,” Tim replied.
Dick smiled, “Sounds good! Maybe Dami should lead this time.” Dick’s eyes widened. “Crap! Damian!”
Everyone burst into laughter as Dick sprinted towards Team Grumpy’s jail.
