Thinking about the classic concept of a percy jackson/harry potter crossover and how fast Percy would absolutely DECIMATE everyone at hogwarts. The don't stand a goddamn chance. Aside from the fact that non Greek magic can't affect Greek demigods (something that should be pretty obvious) you think percy "I fought ares at age 12 and won" jackson can't dodge???? Sure wizards can do their little zappy shooty shit but NONE of them have ever gotten their fuckin asses handed to them in a Dennys parking lot and it shows. Percy would stuff Draco Malfoy into a cauldron the moment he says some vaguely bigoted shit then dump blue dye into their water supply. He would have immense beef with Snape and knock him out with one punch. He would somehow figure out how to win quiddich singlehandedly and he would be painfully understimulated the whole time.

I wonder if people used to write Lord of the Rings/Narnia crossovers like we would with Percy Jackson/Harry Potter ones

If Severus was a demigod, would he be the son of Hades or Thanatos?
They both are beings of the underworld. They both have children who are misunderstood and wear a lot of black.
Who would severus be the son of?

i read a lot of pjo x hp crossovers where the demigods we’re familiar with, typically the seven and co, go to hogwarts that i’ve been blinded to other possibilities
like, let’s say, demigod hermione granger (child of athena, duh) who religiously goes to camp every summer since she found out she was a demigod. let’s also say she misses a whole year at hogwarts to help with the two wars. and then she come back after a year of being missing for all intents and purposes, with the trauma of a war veteran and pissed off beyond comprehension that there’s a third war she needs to go through

hypothetically, if i were to make an original character who is both a halfblood and a wizard/witch while setting both HP and PJO in the same time period(HP starting like right after TLT in this case) and write a fic about that, would you read it?
hypothetically i say, because i totally don’t have a few chapters written out already hahaha
edit: since apparently people like the idea i’ll give you a couple spoilers:
The main character is an OC named Anna Lark
She’s a child of Hermes
She’s American
Her mom had died right before summer started, not that anyone at camp knew
She’s two years younger than Percy, 11 in the fic
And I’ve decided that it’ll probably be called:
“a demigod and a witch? seriously?”
I might change the name but look out for it on ao3 in the future!

TOP 10 FANDOMS FOR CROSSOVERS ON FANFICTION.NET BASED ON NUMBER OF FANFICTION (1999-2022)
To make this bar chart race, all series titles in the Crossovers section and the Crossover entries in the regular Misc section on November 29 (or the closest date to it) of every year were copy-pasted from Wayback Machine to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, and then inputted to Flourish to turn into a bar chart race.
In March 27 2009, FFN launched support for crossover fanfiction. Before this date, authors either posted their crossovers in just one category and noted that it was a crossover in its summary, or posted them in one of the generic crossover categories in the Misc. section (such as X-overs, or Cartoons X-overs). There wasn’t a filter to screen all crossovers of specific fandoms back then.
Originally, the fanfiction list was sorted alphabetically, but was changed to number of fics at around early 2013.
Interestingly enough, the crossover sections don’t seem to be suffering from a total fanfiction discrepancy, unlike the sections for non-crossover fanfiction.
Please refer to this post for more fanfiction bar chart races.
Thanks for understanding and hopefully I didn’t mess up anywhere! 🙏

Thinking about this one Harry Potter and Percy Jackson crossover I read on wattpad when I was probably 13 where the pjo gang had to go on a quest to Hogwarts bc Nyx was waking up or something and Hermione was a child of Athena and Harry was a bit of a dick and PIPER FUCKING DIED ???????
Piper, Leo, ans Jason had to go down and do smth to defeat Nyx and one of them had to stay behind and it was Piper AND SHE FUCKING DIED it was like 40 some odd chapters of me getting super invested in these characters all over again on this weird but still fun adventure of the pjo kids really out of their element and although I didn’t like Harry’s character in it bc he’s my favorite and they made him mean IT WORKED and it was GREAT and then at like 10pm on a school night I WAS HIT WITH THAT UNTAGGED MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH THAT ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED ME

sorry if you've been asked this before but what are your headcanons for nico and will's hogwarts houses? :o
first off just so everyone's clear: I don't support JKR or her actions.
Nico's 100% a Slytherin, he's so resourceful, he survived on his own for at least several months as a ten year old, and survived Tartarus alone plus everything else.
Now for Will, I say if he were just a wizard so like, he wasn't a demigod or anything I'd say hufflepuff. But, if we're talking about demigod Will then it's ravenclaw all the way and I'd argue that for many characters. For Will first off: he's a doctor, he knows a whole lot of medical stuff and probably music stuff as well. So if you take him from camp halfblood and plop him in Hogwarts you bet he's going to teach himself and/or get madam pomfrey to teach him everything ever about wizard medicine. Healing spells? Skelegrow? Magic plants? All that other shit? He is a sponge and his water is wizarding magic. Also there's the headcanon that ravenclaws will do anything but their schoolwork and that'd be Will possibly even in just a hp au where he's mortal and/or a muggleborn. That boy would not do a lick of studying unless it pertained to medicine. He'd be failing all his classes but be in the library constantly and begging Pomfrey to sign just one more slip for him to read a book from the restricted section and will be back again in three days after pulling two all nighters and skipping all his classes to read said book.
and just for fun here are a few other people's hogwarts houses:
Annabeth: Ravenclaw but we knew that
Percy: Gryffindor, need I explain
Hazel: Hufflepuff but she will use the suits of armor to tormet people who hurt her or her friends or just to make the younger kids laugh
Frank: Hufflepuff aswell but everyone swears he's in Gryffindor or Slytherin
Leo: Ravenclaw, once again, he would do no studying and would spend every day taking apart anything remotely mechanical that he can get his hands on to try reverse engineering it
Jason: Gryffindor but everyone thinks he's in hufflepuff
Piper: Slytherin, that girl knows how to make people do whatever she wants with and without charmspeak. All the halfblood and muggleborns will do anything for her because she'll get her dad to sign anything of their choosing for "someone, but it can only be a few people because he doesn't like giving out autographs and giving out a bunch makes them less special." She's THAT bitch, everyone wants to be her friend and if you piss her off then she'll destroy your life. Queen Bee shit, yk

Harry Potter x Percy Jackson Pirate AU
Tumblr media
AN: Percy Jackson and the Olympians comes out today! I'm so excited! I created this ficlet because I wanted a pirate AU with Sirius Black. The warnings for this fic are period-typical attitudes, mentions of tears and arranged marriages.
“The King bids you to return to London, my Lady.”
“The Queen Mother was the one to send her on this voyage.  Why would the King recall her?”
“The Oldest, Noblest family of Black have submitted another request for her hand in marriage.”
“Another?”  You questioned.
“While the previous attempt was less than well executed, the King bears no ill will to the family of Black.  He understands that Regulus is not his brother.”
Comprehension dawned on you as you examined the man that you were referring to as Captain Sirius “You were my fiancé?”
Sirius looked at you horrified.
“He went before the King, my Lady, and demanded that the engagement be broken as he had no time for a ‘spoiled little princess who did not understand the demands of his work.’  I wonder, would your response have been different if you knew beforehand that your intended is the daughter of Poseidon?”
“Commodore Snape,” you cut in.  “You have been a good friend to me and my family.  You have gone above and beyond the call of duty.  I am offering you a chance to return to London unscathed by the wind and tide.  Should your vendetta against Captain Black influence your thinking further, this offer will not linger.”
“I understand.”
Once Commodore Snape’s ships had departed, you turned to the four captains of the Marauder, “Thank you gentlemen for ensuring my safety as I travelled with you.  I shall not trouble you any further.”
Captain Black reached towards you but you evaded his grasp.  Grateful that you were no longer wearing the clothes that you had begun the journey with, you dived into the ocean.  The ocean rejoiced as its princess returned and if one tear escaped your eye as you swam home, the ocean would whisk the tear away before anyone other than the two of you would know.

Do anyone ever like...
*reads a long fics or series (of a poorly done show with potential?) with flesh new relationships and development, the characters get more personality and deep, where the plot goes in a specific direction, perhaps altering or increasing beyond the canon*
*gets attached to this version*
*goes to read another unrelated fic of the same show*
and just...
"What is going one here? Why is this guy dead? Why those girls not enemies? They have a parental relationship now? why this bashing!character got killed by the mc? They are married! Why the author hates him? Aren't this lad suppose to be the smart one? He is a genius! And where is the oc?"

The old classroom was cloaked in an almost eerie silence, broken only by the rustle of pages as Remus turned them, and the scratching of Severus's quill against parchment. The dim light from a solitary lamp in the corner cast long shadows, creating a mysterious atmosphere that mirrored the complexities of the relationship between the two boys.
Remus Lupin, with his worn-out copy of Percy Jackson, was lost in the world of demigods and mythical creatures. It was his refuge, a place where he could escape the harsh reality of being a werewolf and the growing distance between him and his friends. He felt the weight of the impending full moon, and the solitude gnawed at him.
In the opposite corner, Severus Snape scowled over his astronomy homework, resenting the interruption. The last thing he wanted was company, especially from a member of the infamous Marauders. But as his gaze met Remus's, he detected a vulnerability, a weariness that echoed his own struggles with his tumultuous life.
Books and parchment scattered as Severus's irritation boiled over. "Why are you still here, Lupin? Can't you find somewhere else to rot?"
Remus, startled, stammered an apology and offered to leave. Yet, to his surprise, Severus's tone softened, and he hesitated. "Fine, stay. Just don't bother me."
The two boys retreated to their respective corners, the tension lingering in the air. Remus couldn't help but steal glances at Severus, who seemed entirely absorbed in his work. However, after a while, Remus noticed something unexpected—Severus had abandoned his astronomy homework and had picked up a copy of Percy Jackson.
The shared appreciation for the adventures of Percy, Annabeth, and Grover created an unspoken connection, even if Severus didn’t know it yet. Remus smiled, realizing that in this moment, they were just two boys, escaping into the world of half-bloods and monsters, putting aside the labels that society had imposed upon them.
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The night stretched on, Remus, immersed in the adventures of Percy Jackson, found comfort in the familiar escapades of demigods navigating a world that mirrored the complexities of his own life. The moon's glow filtered through the dusty windows, casting intricate patterns on the stone floor
Severus, on the other hand, was switching between  a complex potion formula and enjoying his book. The flickering candlelight accentuated the sharp angles of his features as he furrowed his brow, the ink-stained quill dancing with precision across the parchment. The atmosphere in the room felt charged with unspoken tension, a delicate balance between the solitude they sought and the inevitable collision of their worlds.
The silence between them was heavy, each absorbed in their pursuits, and yet the awareness of the other's presence lingered like an unspoken invitation. Remus stole occasional glances at Severus, observing the meticulous nature of his work. The potion diagrams sprawled across the parchment seemed to dance with an alchemical grace that contrasted sharply with the whimsical chaos of Percy Jackson's tales.
As the night wore on, the air became thick with a quiet tension that demanded release. Remus, feeling the urge to break the silence, looked up from his book and found Severus's eyes already on him, a challenge in their depths.
Severus's voice cut through the stillness, "You really find solace in those tales, Lupin? Not your typical werewolf reading material."
Remus paused, considering his words before responding, "Perhaps. But sometimes, even in fiction, we find reflections of our own struggles. It's not about escaping; it's about understanding."
Severus raised an eyebrow, a silent invitation for Remus to elaborate. And so, in the hushed corners of that Hogwarts classroom, a dialogue unfolded – not of camaraderie, but of opposing perspectives and shared vulnerabilities.
Remus continued, "Percy Jackson's world is one of constant battles, not just against external foes, but against the internal ones too. It resonates with the struggles we face as outsiders, as individuals caught between two worlds."
Severus scoffed, "And you see yourself as an outsider, Lupin? Don't pretend we share the same struggles."
Remus met Severus's gaze with a steady intensity, "We may wear different masks, Snape, but we both know what it's like to navigate a world that doesn't fully accept us."
The words hung in the air, a challenge and an acknowledgment woven into the fabric of the night. The dialogue, though strained, became a bridge between two solitary souls navigating the labyrinth of their own realities.
As the night drew to a close, the unfinished potion and the worn-out book lay side by side, remnants of a night that had woven a complex tapestry of shared silence and challenging words. Remus gathered his belongings, leaving the classroom with a nod towards Severus, a silent agreement to continue the conversation another night.
The moon cast its final glow over the room, a witness to the nuanced dance of words and quiet companionship that unfolded within the walls of Hogwarts, a place where even the loneliest of souls found an unexpected connection in the depth of the night.
