#he wants a calmer life than that. but if they want to be heroes? he's a loyal lil guy and will always be there to support them
ominis · 1 year
Note
ominis&poppy&natty would be an amazing trio imo. all three of them have strong morals and have first hand experiences on how bad people can be and how disorienting it is to lose your home. and the girls have that chaotic good urge to go and YEET themselves into danger while eternally grumpy ominis (who would still loyally follow them anywhere) would be like "can't we just chill and be normal kids for ONE week??"
YES!! Ominis always follows them around and says it's just to make sure they don't get hurt. He complains the whole time, tells them to just be normal for once, but he really wouldn't want it to be any other way. He loves that they both want to do good! They want the world to be better, so he puts up with their antics and their knack for putting themselves into danger because he's not going to deny them the positive change they could cause. And they both would just make him begrudgingly smile because how could he not be so fond of them? Poppy and Natty are so full of life and that's the opposite of the world he's used to. He'd want to be around that.
And if one of them put themselves into too much danger and did get hurt? Just imagine how much Ominis would fuss over them while scolding them the whole time, but only because he cares.

Platonic!Yan batfam with young adult reader. Part 5
[Part 4]
Note: Reader is 18-22 years old. Gn reader
Content warning: being treated like a child, being looked down on, obsessions, soft yandere but still a yandere, reader has memory issues and it's ambiguous as to why, delusional batfam, batfam as a whole basically view you as a child younger then Damien despite you being older, dissociation, abduction, drugging, so many lies
Focus Bruce Wayne (all his POV)
-----
Bruce hadn't wanted you to ever see the cruelty of the world. It's why he and your siblings worked so hard to prepare a room for you in the manor as swiftly as they could. You were too good for Gotham, maybe even the world. He wanted your integration into the family as seemless as possible. Painless too. But maybe he should have listened to his youngest after that first visit of his.
Damian had been insistent you couldn't handle life on your own. That you needed them to care for you, which he agreed with! He just also knew he couldn't just take you. They were heros they couldn't just abduct you. He told Damian and the others to treat you like a feral cat. Stay close but give you space, step in when need be and let you warm up to them. And look what happened.
You were barely here mentally. The trauma haze and shock yet to leave you, if not made worse by the lie *he* told you. You'd forgive him once you were better, you'd realize he was just doing what he had to do as your father. The risk of you going home was too great now.
He remembered the panic when you woke up in the room the family had made for you in the cave. He had been there in costume. The sight of him had managed to calm you. He was glad for that, it meant you thought of him as safe. You shouldn't considering he lied to your face.
The lie was simple one, easily kept up by the entire family. The mugging you had seen planted a target on you. The woman you tried to save, her parents were well-known crimelords in Star City, and they blamed *you* for their daughter's death. A hit was out on you; so you had to stay here with them until it was safe.
The news had made the shock you were in worse, making your mental state deteriorate more than when you'd first arrived. But he was happy to see the moments where the fog lifted, where you opened up to them again. Once he was sure you were attached, he'd let them all meet you outside of the costumes but that was a while away.
By the third day you'd gone from a husk to a crying mess. They'd all tried to consol you even himself. He made a promise that soon things would get better. And they would! You'd join the family, he'd spoil you with anything and everything you could dream of. You'd be in the manor properly and not in the cave.
Your sadness was a knife in his heart. Like any good parent, he just wanted you to be safe and happy. Bruce knew that for now, safety was key. Still he wouldn't lie again and say he wasn't envious when one of your siblings got you to smile. So far Damian and Jason had been the ones managing to get you to relax best. The nickname Sparky had taken over among all of them.
There were a few moments where your panic would rise up, you'd demand to know when you could go home becoming hysterical at the idea of losing your job and subsequently your home. He knew you wouldn't lose your home since it was here with them as for a job? You were still so young you didn't need one. Still, you'd work yourself up so much that whoever was near had to drug you. The tranquilizer was a gentle one. You were only out a few hours and much calmer when you came to. The downside is you forgot a lot that happened, though for now, that was a blessing.
He couldn't wait for you to meet his father figure, your grandfather Alfred. Sure, you'd met him when you first got here, but you didn't remember it. It's probably for the best, considering you'd likely have put the 2 and 2 together before he was ready for you to have that information.
Bruce reached over to your resting form and fixed the blanket that had fallen off of your shoulder. Soon, you'd take your place in the family, and no one was having an easy time waiting for it.

I know Tallulah and Chayanne being sort of opposites is pretty well known, but I find it very interesting how that's also been the case over the course of their character development.
Tallulah started as a sweet, musical, caring, but timid kid who was scared of uncertainty and danger. She's always communicated better through her words than her actions, but back then she was very averse to any sort of fighting or conflict. She still clearly holds some of those traits, but she's clearly changed some since then.
Tallulah now wants more danger, she wants more risk. She's willing to fight and sometimes looks forward to it. The uncertainty of the future still scares her some, but she's becoming more willing to accept each day as it comes. She's become more confident in herself and her relationships, and starting to be more open with the people she cares about. She's stopped waiting for Wilbur to return and started to take on life on her own terms, caring about who she wants and doing what she wants.
Then compare that to how Chayanne was, a brave heroic little warrior who always wanted to adventure and to prove himself and protect everyone. He communicated best with his actions, and constantly wanted to battle and fight and run into danger. Again, he still kept some of these traits, but he's also changed.
As time passed, he got more hobbies than just fighting and battle, and began to value much more in life than just adrenaline and danger. He's started to value more his family, his home, his calm and quiet life, rather than adventures and danger. He doesn't want the chaos and fear, he's starting to want more a quiet and happy life with his family. He still respects the brave hero he always heard about in stories, and still enjoys going on adventures, but he's deciding to follow the path that really makes him happy, even if that's not always one of battle.
They're both still clearly themselves. Throughout their lives, Tallulah spoke better through words while Chayanne spoke through actions. Tallulah loved music and still does, while Chayanne's active and energetic and likes parkour. Those, along with many other little character traits, haven't changed.
But their character arcs mirror each other. Tallulah has grown to like adventure and risks, she's become more brave. Chayanne has grown to be value the calmer and quieter parts of life, and has become more reserved.
They've both grown so much, in such different ways, but they've both grown.

It’s been a month since you found yourself in a world very much like the mmorpg game you used to play back when you were on earth. The first week was extremely rough, in the first three days you were in a frenzy trying to get your wearabouts about you. A couple of knights found you and were actually pretty helpful in guiding you to the church where the nuns made sure you were fed and taken care of. On your calmer day you decided you wanted to try something and called out the menu aloud. You almost jumped when the all too familiar screen popped up in front of you, the only thing missing was the option to ‘quit game’. The next chance that you got you asked one of the nuns how you could go about being an adventurer.
Here you were getting the hang of your class, who knew that combat in real life would be harder than it would be in a game. Monsters were actually terrifying and being in the wild sucked but at least you weren’t relying on other people to get by now.
You might have been getting too comfortable though because while taking on a quest to get rid of some monsters terrorizing some local fields you all but reached your limit, you were tired and wounded but the request was done and you just needed to report back to the guild now but you passed out.
You woke with a jolt. You thought the knights found you and took you to the church again but after looking at your surroundings that didn’t seem to be the case since it looked like a quaint cabin. You also noticed you were bandaged up really well. The door creaked open and in came a person you never saw before. “Oh you’re awake! That’s good.” “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to intrude,” you told them. He shook his head, “It’s the least I can do after you helped clear our fields of monsters.” “Ah, I need to report back to the adventurer’s guild.” “You’re not in any condition to move! You need rest.” “I’m okay, I need to collect my money after all.” “Then, let me come with you.” Seeing no harm in that you allowed him to come with you. “I’m Mikha by the way!” The two of you exchange greetings and names. “Wow so you’ve only been an adventurer for a month? What made you want to be one?” “Change of pace I guess.”
After finishing the business at the adventurer's guild you were about to say your goodbyes with Mikha but he invited you to dinner and you couldn’t pass up free food. Back at his home you helped however you could in the kitchen but since everything was so primitive compared to your original world you were slow in learning. Over dinner you two talked about life, his parents died when he was young and he had to learn to take care of the farm from a young age in order to survive. He talked about how nice it was to have dinner with someone after being alone for so long. “Have you never thought about finding a spouse?” You asked. “I have, it’s just so hard when you have to tend the farm all the time.” The night ended with Mikha insisting that you spend the night there, which you agreed to since it’s better than camping out or spending money at an inn again.
A couple more months went by and you basically made yourself at home with Mikha. Even though he insisted that you paid with your company you still gave him money for his hospitality. All seemed to be going well until you informed Mikha that you were leaving this part of the continent to broaden your horizons of the world. “Mikha, are you okay? You dropped your food.” “I- I’m fine, when are you leaving?” “It’s going to take me a month to prepare so I’m not going any time soon.” “I’m going to miss you…” “I’ll miss you too! I’ll definitely try to write to you when I can.” Mikha lost his appetite, he thought everything was going good between the two of you, he thought he could convince you to stop adventuring someday and the two of you would settle down and start a family together. Was this really how it was going to end? No, he won’t allow it.
Your preparations were coming along and you were getting more and more excited about your journey. You couldn’t help but notice that Mikha seemed to have gotten quieter and just overall seemed to be more on edge. When you asked him what was wrong he’d vehemently tell you nothing was wrong.
Finally, the night before your journey arrived and Mihka had prepared more food than usual as a celebratory feast. You two ate and drank to your heart's content and Mihka even seemed like he was back to his cheerful self. After cleaning up, you went to go get a good night's rest but in the middle of the night you felt something burning in your core. You were extremely turned on and it was to a point where it was near uncomfortable. You squeezed your legs together, you tried to breathe it out and you even tried to relieve yourself but nothing was working. You didn’t even notice the knocking on your door until Mikha walked in to ask what was wrong. “Stay away from me!” You warned him, “I’m not in my right mind!” Mikha didn’t listen and because of that you jumped him and used him to your heart's content.
The next morning you were ashamed of yourself, you saw the marks and bruises you gave him from the night before. You were on your knees, crying and sobbing for forgiveness. He seemed like an angel when he pulled you in for a hug and told you everything is going to be okay but you’d need to take responsibility. You kissed your future dreams goodbye and eventually the two of you married and took care of the farm together. Mikha was just glad that you agreed to take responsibility so easily, but in case you ever tried to leave him, he would tell you about the succubus mark that was implanted on the two of you that night meant that no matter who else you decided to be with your lust wouldn’t have been satisfied by anyone except him.

Saw some ppl talking about Reverse Robins and i had thoughts
Talking abt u guys @eldritchdreamss @brucewaynehater101
Why kill Tim when you could kill baby Jason? What I want is for all of them to keep their own backstories and personalities (Developed in line with the story of course) So ofc i had to write a 1,000 word brainrot abt it.
(Also i'll only be going over the main 4 batbros for now i will add more later but these guys are the ones im most passionate about so here we go)
Damian
Let Damian come in, desperate to be of use and be worthy of his father, only for a softer, less jaded bruce (since jason hasnt died yet) to help him open up his heart and let him act as a kid. With no competition for so long, I imagine he and Bruce get along very well while he works with him. Yeah, they need to work on the no killing deal and Damian's... i guess impulse control? But i think it would be easier with very intensely focused reparenting; no distractions of other kids you know? No favoring or anything.
I see Damian growing up as a stoic, jaded adult. He's had a rough life. Maybe he sticks with the vigilante business. but I really love headcanons where he gets out of it, and focuses on something calmer, like his art. (I do appreciate and love the veterinarian Damian AUs, but im going for FULL calmness, you know? And doctor/vet work is Not calm lol)
So yeah, maybe he grows a real passion for heroism, maybe he doesn't? Maybe he goes on to be an artist and that's just what he does. Bro is ready to settle down as a scarred, veteran trophy husband and i adore him for that.
(Sorry lol i just love Damian and i love the idea of him growing out of both of his parent's legacies. Let him live his own life!!! He fights so so hard for at least 15 years. ALL 15 years of his life. He deserves to have some peace.)
Tim
Tim i think would need a much different story to join the Batfam. He still starts out as a stalker who follows batman and. . . . . . . Redimar (meaning Redemption iykyk (I just spend 17min researching names rip)) at night, takes photos, etc... Since Damian doesn't die, maybe he finds Tim? and like, tim is like 11 and Damian is 17 or 18. He's started going out as Redimar less and less, not that B really minds? In fact hes probably happy for his son so...
But then Damian finds Tim, and now he has to keep going out because he can't let this kid get himself killed like this. He would hold himself accountable since hes the only reason Tim keeps going out so much- also i imagine Tim follows Redimar more than Batman.
Cue a classic Tim Joining The Batfam plotline. They get to know each other better, get a grasp on Tim's situation, Damian finally introduces Tim to Bruce... (Probably something like Dami: "Father, this is my new brother. Timothy, say hello to Father," Tim: "Hello, Father," Dami: "Perfect." Bruce: "*falls off the batchair*)
Anyway, so, Tim ends up kinda just merging with the Waynes. They start training him, its all good and nice, and Tim makes his own little hero team unlike Damian, which is actually pretty interesting here; its Tim who made the first young hero team. Damian only ever had Jon (Superboy 1 in this!!) and he finds Young Just Us and becomes a great leader and its all fine and dandy.
Tim and Damian get along well. Damian is the sage older brother whos kinda distant, but only because he has such high emotional walls (but secretly a softy). He is very much like Bruce- nope, nevermind, hes definitely worse than Bruce in this AU, since Bruce is depicted as being much more agreeable before Jason's death, you know? So yeah, Damian is the emotionally constipated bitch in the fam and we love him for that. But hey!! Tim does manage to get through his walls! And Bruce does sometimes too!! (Tho i imagine Bruce and Damian's relationship to be very.. idk let me try to expalain. Dami: "Father." Bruce: "Son :)" Dami: "Tt." Bruce: *nods* "Hrn." Dami: "Hmph." Bruce: "Hm.") DO U PICK UP WHAT IM PUTTING DOWN--- lmfao. They hardly need words.
Tim ends up growing up very very capable. Once his parents die, he gets a little jaded, but hes still Tim. He and Damian become kind of an... ice prince duo? If you get what I mean. But Tim is the one whos actually the ice prince, Damian is secretly a HUGE softie. He is Delicate and Tim protects him lmfao.
Jason
Jason comes along like he does in canon. Has the same backstory. Tries to steal the Batmobile's wheels. Tim is sleeping over at Damian's flat for the night, so its just Bruce. They bond. Shit happens. Jason joins the fam.
I don't imagine them not getting along, but they don't immediately hit it off either. Jason is wary of all of them for a time, but he ends up warming up to Damian pretty fast after realizing what a softie he is. He pokes fun at Damian and Damian just freaking takes it lmao. Hes an adult he cannot be disturbed. Bro has seen too much and he finds Jason adorable. (Dami: "You were never this cute, Timothy." <- he is lying. Tim: *offended* "What the fu- flip!?" Jason: "Lmao Tim just say fuck." Dami: *deadpan stare* Tim: "JASON NO DONT SAY THE FUCK WORD-") ahem.
anywho and then Jason dies rip skill issue ratio.
The whole batfam is heartbroken. Genuinely shattered. Jason was a light in their lives. Not that they were WITHOUT any light, but Jason was the epitome of a sunshine child.
It's been too long since Damian has killed someone. Bro's god oodles and oodles of trauma. He can't bring himself to kill the Joker.
but Tim can.
It's a whole dramatic thing; Damian feels awful that he made his- now only- little brother kill. Bruce is hella upset but feels responsible for not seeing how badly both of his kids were handling the death of their brother. Tim goes a little off the deep end.
Things turn out.... okay. sort of. but not really. Tim changes his hero name to Red Cardinal. He feels pretty lost. Maybe he stumbles into Ra's al Ghul or smthn idk maybe smthn happens there perhaps. Maybe Damian has to put on Redimar again and rescue him? But its less of a rescue and more of a "Stop joining the dark side Tim jesus christ-" (and it does work).
They go home. Tim gets a boyfriend or two. Damian falls into his art. Bruce is throwing himself into work. They're all kind of a mess, but they keep moving.
and then
Dick
(lmao that sounded wrong)
ahem; and then the circus comes to town. The batfam- well, Tim, Damian, and Bruce- all decide to get together to do something fun. Take the opportunities given, yk? So they go to the circus together.
Wham bam rip the falling Flying Graysons.
They see Dick, breaking apart, and they know they have to do something. Bruce is the first to move. Then Tim. Damian is the last.
It's pretty quick getting Dick home, since Bruce is already a foster parent cuz of Tim yk. So Dick doesn't have to suffer in Juvie at all really. But that doesn't change the fact that he is ANGRY.
Dick is SO angry. he wants to kill the person who murdered his parents. He knows what he saw.
The fam of course do their best to investigate. Mostly Tim, who feels unworthy of being around an innocent little kid after his whole.... villain era, i suppose lol. (ofc Dick thinks Tim doesnt like him lol misunderstanding arc GO)
The whole "Dick accepts that justice is better than murder kinda maybe FOR NOW" storyline happens, and Dick becomes the conniving, bright, little Robin we all know and love. (Thinking of the Young Justice Cartoon Robin (but not the characters- just Dick's character) aaaand
Womp womp GUESS WHOS BACK
Jason's Back
but i'll leave that for later.

How the mha characters would react when their s/o gets hurt in a fight? (U can chose which characters) ❤️
Hello! Sorry this took so long, I was a bit busy with my personal life. Imma write characters that are gonna have the most unique reactions then. Thanks for the request!❤️
~
Note; please if you're interested in giving me a request, write me down the character(s) you'd like to read in my work, it helps me to organize my thoughts and focus on specific characters. Also the more specific you are, the better my fic / oneshot / headcannons are gonna turn out, ty<3
MHA characters reacting to their S/O getting hurt during a fight
~
Dabi
Tumblr media
Let's be honest, that guy isn't attached to anybody. He can't feel any type of emotion unless it's on extreme levels. That's exactly why he doesn't feel anger when he sees you injured, he feels rage.
He wants to burn the place down. Burn the hero. Their whole family line. He's the type of person who you wouldn't know that he appreciates you that much so you'd be surprised to see how much he got worried. Even he doesn't understand what's going on with him. Only thing that I know, is that I wouldn't wanna be that hero, facing him in battle.
~
Tomura Shigaraki
Tumblr media
He's extremely calm. More than how much he should be. However that's only a facade in front of you. He's fueled with anger on the hero who dared to touch you and cause you this suffering.
He wants to get revenge for sure. He can't come up with a plan that will ensure them winning the battle over heroes so he gets provided the help of Kurogiri. He wants to turn to dust the entire family tree of the hero who did all that to you.
~
Bakugo Katsuki
Tumblr media
There are at least 3 people holding him so he doesn't run outside and give your attacker a piece of his own medicine (probably midoriya kirishima and tenya).
He ends up going outside in the city to find your attacker and make them pay but of course he returns without having done anything other than wandering in the streets furiously. Probably returns calmer though.
~
Izuku Midoriya
Tumblr media
Man he almost faints when he sees you injured like this. It's not that he's not familiar with injuries or blood but he freaks out when his loved ones are in that situation.
After he does his best to keep his composure, he asks you details on how you were attacked, who attacked you and things that could in general help him. He's not the type to get revenge but this incident wouldn't go unnoticed, especially if someone else injured you.
~
Hawks
Tumblr media
Hawks is of course the type to worry and get you immediately in the hospital. He tries to get some answers from you once you're in a good shape to talk.
He immediately reports the incident to his higher ups and avoids chasing the attacker on his own. Hawks is clearly the workaholic type of man, who doesn't want his personal life to get mixed with his work so he won't chase down the attacker. However he will investigate, till he can't no more, and if he happens to face your attacker in a battle, he'll be more than happy to give his all and get revenge for you.
~
Shouta Aizawa
Tumblr media
Just like Hawks, he doesn't want his personal life getting mixed with his work. If the villains knew you are one of Aizawa's loved ones, you'd become their no 1 bait and he'd hate himself if he let that happen.
Pretty much wants to destroy the attacker, but his calm aura doesn't let those violent emotions get out. Of course, if he happens to face the attacker in battle, he's giving his all, even his life if needed.

My opinion, which I know is unpopular. Part 2
I think it's very good that the Henituse family didn't notice that another person appeared instead of the original Cale. And not only from the point of view of the plot.
Look, the original Cale showed no interest other than drinking and playing, smashing things around. At least that's how it looks from the side of his family.
So, that means they didn't know anything that could characterize Cale himself. Interests, hobbies or something else. Cale's identity was extremely vague to them due to Cale's lack of communication and behavior.
Don't get me wrong, Cale is my favorite cinnamon bun🥺. But he didn't contact his family, did he? And if Deruth deserved it, because of his behavior when Cale really needed him, then Basen and Lilly deserved a little more attention. And by the way, in one of the chapters on behalf of Basen, it was said that it was Cale who treated Basen a little better than a stranger. Not the other way around. So Cale was the initiator of that wall between them. We know that for sure. Although we already guessed it.
So, what we have. There was practically no contact between Cale and his family. And they didn't notice any special features behind Cale. Because Cale didn't want that.
And now I will explain my position.
Ever since Rok Soo took over Cale's body, he has been doing amazing things and quickly became a hero (the poor a slacker life). Besides, he didn't get drunk and was much calmer.
And then many people start to get angry at Deruth that he didn't notice the changes.
But he HAD NOTICED. He noticed it right away. But why do you think his first thought should have been that it was another person? Can you imagine what a bad opinion there must be about a person in order to FIRST assume an exchange of souls, and not that a person just began to change for the better?
If Deruth had immediately realized that it was not Cale, it would have meant that he absolutely does not allow the thought that Cale could change.
In fact, Cale could easily just be a difficult teenager. Who has grown up well.
Yes, I have a lot of questions and complaints about Deruth as a father. There are a lot of them. But this is not one of them.
He, like the rest of the family, accepted the fact that Cale became calm because they admitted that such a thing could happen. They accepted the fact that he was a hero because they understood what it could be. They didn't think of Cale as a hopeless person, so they easily accepted the changes.
And of course, do not forget how events swirled around Cale. He was practically not at home.

Hiii! Can you please write something for Louis Bloom? He’s sooo bad but he is just so hot I have a hard time hating him 😭 Merry Christmas!
Hiii! Merry Christmas for you too, anon, thank you for this wonderful gift, my first request since I came back <3
Hm yeah, if people don't want us to fall in love with psychos, they need to stop hiring Jake Gyllenhaal to play then yk...
Warnings: oral (male recieving), balls worship, manipulation (from both sides, but heavier on his), description of violence, blood, accidents and other typical Lou Bloom activities (he doesn't hurt reader).
Like 1.7k words
You were new in town. You didn't know about Louis's reputation. The two of you had just started going out and you didn't know much about his job... all you knew was the gleam in his eyes whenever he talked about it, always mentioning he was very successful. You also knew that he worked VERY hard, cause more than once you've seen him spend the entire evening out, or simply drop everything he's doing when he hears about something that could make it to the news. And you would watch his material on TV smiling proudly at his hard work.
You couldn't imagine how hard it must be for him to witness such horrible, tragic events and document everything... again... you didn't know him very well yet.
Time passed and the two of you only grew closer. Louis was fascinated by your innocence... about how you would always receive him with open arms and whispers of "my poor Lou" after a particular long night, or how you'd be horrified after seeing his images on TV, saying things like "oh baby, you must be a hero, how can you endure this kind of thing?".
It just drove him crazy. He was living a double life... he would be the most absolute cruel and unhinged man on the dark streets of LA, and come back to you as a man of many sacrifices. Just when he thought it couldn't be more perfect, he has this idea: the worse his job looked to you, the more you would admire him.
The next night was the first night he came home covered in blood. You almost had a heart attack.
"Lou!" You ran towards him. "What happened to you? Are you hurt?"
"No, it's okay, baby, I'm okay..." He put on his saddest face. "I just... I was out there doing my job, you know... but I... Oh, my love, I did something terrible..."
"What do you mean, Lou? What happened?" You asked nervously.
"You know I'm not supposed to interfere on the scene, but... I couldn't help it... there was this child... he was very hurt on the accident, I just had to help him!"
You hugged him and cried proudly, trying to calm him down, telling him it was okay... oh, little did you know he was calmer than ever as he lied and manipulated you, smirking into the hug as he watched you fall into his trap.
But his need for your attention and affection grew completely out of his control. His storied became more and more absurd and he started to... cause some... situations on purpose, just so he would have new stories to tell you about how brave he was.
Louis was always the type to be behind the cameras, but more than once he filmed himself dragging a victim of a car accident or carrying an unconscious person around, heavily editing it afterwards, to make it look like he was saving them... and he didn't even sell those images, they were only for you to see, with the excuse that he was so humble and didn't want the fame, he just wanted to help.
But he just couldn't fool you forever, no matter how hard he tried. The absurdity of his stories increased drastically and he didn't know where to stop... Louis was smart and cold when it came to the lies he sold for the television, not when it came for the ones he told to you.
And that's when you decided to investigate.
You knew that every time he allowed himself to close his eyes, he would sleep very heavily, since it was so rare. But you needed to make sure of it. So you planned a pretty exhausting night for him...
"Hi, baby" you greeted him with a smile, wrapping your arms around his shoulders as soon as he walked into the apartment that night. "Hope you're not too tired..."
"Hey, love. I'm fine, What do you have in mind?" he smiled back, not suspecting anything.
"Wanted to treat you real good..." you said, moving your hand down his chest, over his shirt. "You deserve to relax a bit..."
"Yeah?" He smirked and you nodded, big doe eyes acting innocent, like you knew it would drive him crazy.
You guided him towards the sofa while he kissed you passionately, his hands softly on your waist. He sat on the sofa and you kneeled on the floor, in front of him. The look on his face made you forget about your plan immediately. And the part of you that remembered it, felt extremely guilty... you couldn't do that to him. He was such a loving, caring boyfriend, you had no reason to suspect he had been doing anything wrong.
He unbuttoned his shirt, as your hands worked on his pants, pulling them down to his knees. You could see through his underwear that he was starting to get hard.
"Come on, angel, let me see those pretty tits, huh?" He asked in his sweetest tone.
You didn't hesitate to remove your top, playing with your tits in front of him, watching his smile grow wider and his dick get harder.
"Lay back, Lou... let me take care of you, okay?" You insisted. "Just relax, I'll be so good for you... put on a show like you deserve..."
"Fuck, little girl..." he frowned, dick now throbbing. He obeyed, though, letting you pull his underwear down.
As his cock sprung free, your mouth watered. What a fool you were! Acting like you could control him when you were down that bad... cock drunk before even having a taste...
You grabbed his shaft, tongue running up and down slowly, getting him wet. You started stroking him as your mouth went to his balls. You sucked and caressed and drooled all over them, eyes rolling to the back of your head as he moaned in pleasure. Louis was the type to hide his moans, but he barely could when you worshipped his balls this good...
You could tell he was getting impatient and the last thing you wanted was to lose control of the situation. If he decided to be in charge, you knew you were in trouble. So you took his shaft in your mouth, little by little, until it hit the back of your throat. You moaned as you did it, hands squeezing your own tits as you tried not to gag. Every movement you made was designed to keep him entertained, to keep him lost in the moment.
Your head bobbed faster as his words and praises got more and more filthy. As he went from "Fuck, you're doing so well, my sweet angel, keep going, you're making me feel so good" to "Fucking whore, so hungry for this cock, bet you can't wait to swallow all I have to give you".
And fuck, you were grateful when he came down your throat, giving you an unexplainable feeling of joy as you watched your man so satisfied, so... calm... maybe a little... sleepy.
"Come on, Lou... let's go to bed... you must be so exhausted." You suggested. He didn't argue, even though he didn't like not returning the favor you just did for him. He just had a long day, and he would be able to please you harder and better in the morning, not now.
The ache between your legs after sucking him off and not getting any attention afterwards worked as some kind of fuel to carry on with your plan. You left him sound asleep in his room, closing the door and walking to the living room as silently as possible, finding his computer there.
Not a single suspicion you had before could have prepared you for what you would find there. That wasn't the sweet Louis you knew... the way he dragged extremely hurt people around the streets, positioning them like they were toys... he didn't seem to be... helping them. Took you a while to understand that it was all fake. He had been creating entire scenes from scratch, he was a fucking actor... you shivered as you heard a woman screaming for him to stop as he manipulated her body like a doll... the way he told her to shut up...
"You know that's really none of your business, darling."
Your blood froze. You wouldn't dare to look up, but you could feel him standing beside you. How long has he been there?
"Lou, I can explain..." your eyes filled with tears.
"I know you can." He sighed, sittind beside you on the sofa. "But I don't really wanna hear it."
You flinched as he raised his hand, but he just rested it softly on your cheek, wiping a tear away.
"I'm not gonna hurt you, sweetheart... you know I could never do that..." he reassured you. "You need to know a few things about me."
You sat still and he saw that as a sign to continue. "You see, I don't hurt anyone. I just... find them in a very bad situation and... I have to do my job, you see. And my job is not giving people the truth, my job is to give them something they wanna watch..."
"But... Lou... that's wrong..." you gathered strength to finally speak.
"Then tell me, little one, who's so bad? Me? For giving people entertainment... or is it the people who find this entertaining?" He continued caressing your cheek. "And that would include you, I'm afraid... cause you watched everything I ever showed you and you fell in love with me while you did so."
"I didn't... I didn't know..." you tried to justify it all to yourself more than to him.
"I know it's shocking, my love." He brought you closer to him, giving your forehead a kiss. "You're new here... LA, Hollywood... every magical thing you see on TV is absolutely filthy behind the cameras."
Maybe he was right, and you hated it. You knew you were being manipulated, but you just couldn't... not see how it all made sense.
"Come back to bed, princess." He offered, his voice was calm as if nothing had happened. "We can talk more about all of this tomorrow. There's so much I need to show you."
His calm attitude indicated that he knew you were sticking around, even after he revealed his true self. The fact that you took his hand and followed him back to the bedroom, showed he was right.

Okay sorry if I just missed it but I haven't seen people mention it and it made my ears prick up as I try to catch up-
Prism bringing up going to the shadowfell for the ascendency festival REALLY felt like a deliberate drop that Matt gave her when they talked between episodes about what she could bring into the conversation. Which supports MY theory that we (and by we I really mostly mean the hells) are getting way too distracted by whether we think the gods are nice or not and are not paying NEARLY enough attention to all the pieces of this puzzle coming back to birb mom.
Am I the only one getting the vibe that both the Raven Queen and her followers, but also KEYLETH have a plan B that's already well into motion??? Perhaps the same plan?? Facilitated by my goth birb son mayhap?
Something about when they checked on the RQ temple in uthadern- they seemed much calmer there than any other worshippers and said something about "trusting in the matron's plan." Which, yeah, she's the goddess of fate that makes sense. But she's not the goddess of fate in the "everything that happens is her will so bad or good, it's what she wants and we can't question it" kinda way. She fucking loves Vax because he was someone who fought tooth and nail against the way things seemed to be going when he didn't like it.
And then in the scry on Keyleth we got, didn't she mutter something like "it wasn't supposed to be like this..."? Which again, yeah, you could def say "well duh- she was supposed to have the love of her life for longer than like three years, she was supposed to have more years of leading her people in peace after saving the world once already. A LOT of things were supposed to be different." But Matt usually doesn't give them *dialogue* in a scry, does he? So it REALLY rang !!!!THIS IS A CLUE!!!! alarm bells for me.
And it would make sense, right? Cuz I don't think we saw other Ashari come with Keyleth to the desert, did we? And she was a bit cagey with Orym about how she couldn't bring that many forces. If the Raven Queen, Vax and Keyleth all *knew* what Ludinus wanted to do- use Keyleth as bait to get Vax- it would absolutely make sense for her to be like "get beat up a bit, my already dead boyfriend shows up and chills in an orb for a hot minute, birb mom pulls the ace and we have the upper hand, no one else gets hurt. Sounds like the best plan." But then things are already SO BAD. and it's not like letting more people in on this mystery plan would really help that at all?? Only just put it in danger? But she'd kinda been trying to contain and control the chaos, and there's only so much of that you can realistically do. And she's a great leader, and a great leader doesn't *like* keeping things from people who are scared and looking for guidance, but sometimes compartmentalization is necessary.
AND THEN that's not even mentioning Mor in exu. And how she seems to be on a mission from the Raven Queen without being consciously aware of it. And how she was sent by Nana Morri - the FATE STITCHER - to exandria. Birb mom is making moves quietly through others and the evidence is scattered all over this story, but it comes back to her every time.
I'm just !!!!!!!! PLEASE SOMEONE TALK ABOUT "FATE" AND THE RQ INVOLVEMENT MORE I'M BEGGING THESE HEROES!!!!!

A Fair Trade - Dastan x (Fem)Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: Heavy flirting, sexual tension. Reader is named to avoid an overuse of y/n. I picked for her my favorite arabic girl name and she uses arabic pet names, mostly but not only, on Dastan. ( Apologising in advance if my translations aren't accurate)
Summary: The Valley of the Slaves harbours many secrets behind the horrifying legends, mere facade for an illegal gambling establishment ran by the greediest man Dastan has ever meet. Deprived of everything since the arrival, he is perfectly aware of needing material help of the owner in order to continue the journey. Chances seem highly improbable, but the beautifull daughter of the Sheik shows an intense predilection towards him.
Note: The father - daughter dynamic is chaotic and hilarious. I loved it more than what I initially expected.
Arabic terms: Habibi - My love
Waseem - handsome
Ghalibi - My conqueror/ the one conquering one's heart
Baba/Abbi - dad, father

The Valley of the Slaves was nothing like the tales described, those were the carefully developed cover of an illegal paradise for gambling ran by a greedy trader Dastan needed to somehow associate himself with if he wanted to get out. Exchanging Tamina for his safety was a start, but in order to continue the journey he required of aid and leaving on good terms could facilitate things for him.
Reminding some of the lessons found in his lost life of prince, he proceeded like he was taught to do when trying to seal a political deal with a foreign ruler. Expressing enjoyment of being shown arround, praise the land and pretend to agree with everything he would hear. It seemed to be working just fine, but Sheik Amar had his own sort of intempestive reactions keeping him second guessing.
The initial good mood had run out for reasons beyond Dastan's understanding. While doing his pridefull exposition about the many secrets of the place, Amar had also been doing a subtle visual search for someone who seemed absent and this fact enraged him.
" WHERE IS LEYLA? " He interrogated the first men at his service that he found on his way. " CAN'T YOU WATCH OVER HER EVEN ONE BLOODY TIME? DO I HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING HERE? "
Seso was not far behind him and the yelling made him chuckle, amused by a scene that seemed common to him.
" She must be doing promotion. "
The guess ruined his fríend's mood even more.
" Don't be so mean to her! She is a good girl, you just never give her a chance. "
The sudden softness made Dastan suspect he cared for the woman being mentioned.
" FIND HER, NOW!!!" Sheik Amar ordered. " C'MON!"
It was a perfect time to win his simpathies by being the hero, so the errant prince followed despite not being sure of what he was stepping into. The men were getting away of the race track searching the slightly calmer spaces bordering it and he remained behind for an instant, untill the sound of music began to guide him in the ríght direction. He trusted his instinct on it, but what he found wasn't the endangered girl needing of a rescuer that he hoped for.
A ravishing young woman dancing to the improvising of a darbuka player with a crowd of men loosing their minds for her. She seemed to be having the time of her life pampering the ones willing to pay better with her brief attention. To stop staring at her was impossible. Her twirls, the gracefull movements of her arms and legs accompanying her sensual responses to the percussion going strongly on her hips, chest and waist.
So shamelessly sensual that Dastan felt a bit flusterred when her glance found him, regretting so badly not having a single piece of gold to give her.
That didn't matter to her, or at least not like it did for the other costumers. Advancing in his direction in delightfull pacing meant to display her sharp hip movements, she showed him a preferential free treatment that he wasn't expecting ríght away. The foolish smile on his face only encouraged her, regardless for what that could cause in all the others.
Proximity lasted for an instant, but the sight was mouth watering and the lascivous smile she gave him felt like a mark of fire. Dastan licked his lips and instinctively took one hand to his belt, suddenly remembering the dagger.
He could have forgotten of his own name looking at her.
Before he could regain concience by himself, the precise flight of one of Seso's knives dispersed the crowd and abruptly ended the show.
" Ya Abbi!! " She called, contrastingly sweet demeanour as she noticed Amar ríght next to the knife thrower. " Look at all the gold i just made! Aren't you proud of me? My business is going great! Now i won't have to bother you the next time i want to get something nice for myself. "
Mentioning profits was her attempt to distract him, but it didn't work as expected.
" What you need is to control your overspending, not shaming yourself like this. "
She didn't take the callout, but pretended to be dissapointed.
" So much of you calling me your princess, your jewel, where is all of that when it's about investing in me? "
Twisting business language was a dangerous discursive operation, since he had the perfect comeback for that.
" Investments have returns, Leyla. "
" Or you are just cheap, and i'm sick of it! " She angryly replicated. " I'm doing something I love and people pay me greatly for it. "
" People talk, they say all kinds of things about you. " He warned her in a sweeter tone. " Unfair things, they claim my daughter is an easy girl."
Seso looked at Dastan and in his gesture he understood all he needed to know.
That stunning girl was the sheik's daughter and the gossips about her weren't entirely wrong.
" Everyone loves a good story. " She defended herself quoting her father. " We know better than anyone how false rumours tend to be. "
Tranquilizing words and her mask of innocence made Amar's softer side win.
" I know you mean well, but I have girls working for me controlling the crowd for a reason. " He reminded her, softly caressing her face. " My business doesn't attract the most honest clientele and you are the most beautifull girl this place has ever seen. They will take advantage of you for being so carefree. "
" Ohhh, he worries for me!!! Isn't he the sweetest?" She lovefully commented, then hugged him. " I love you, Baba."
Her tenderness ended the discrepancies.
" I want ten percent, for the fright you caused me. "
Leyla kissed his cheek, then bargained.
" Five, I share profits with the drum player. "
They shared some complicit laughter, fully relaxing after the moment of tension had passed, which was a peculiar way of expressing their unity as family.
Only then he noticed the furtive glance of the stranger following her.
" What are you looking at, persian? Don't make me regret our agreement."
A sudden terror made him stutter trying to excuse himself, but she helped him out with more displays of her charm.
" Forgive him for the scares." She calmed him while approaching. " Are you lost, waseem? Men like you don't pass by often, you are a blessing to the sight."
He smiled nervously, too aware of the vigilant stare of the father.
" You are a wonderfull dancer, that was a fantastic show. My only regret is being a bit short on currency to properly retribute. "
She was then in front of him, shamelessly toying with the necklace visible due to the open shirt exposing his chest.
" For you only, I accept alternatives. "
" He traded me a girl for his head. " Amar interrupted, ruining her flirty undertones on purpose. " He has nothing of value. "
The claim didn't convince her.
" I'll determinate that. "
Her hands were over him before Dastan could get to say a word, roaming in pretended search for valuable items.
It was only an excuse, the touching itself was the expected payment. Her search felt like the teasing caress of a lover, avid hands stopping for instants in the places she liked more. Awkward context aside, the persian was more than happy of letting her play with him like that. While one hand was underneath the shirt, the other travelled back to give his ass an imperceptible squeeze that the others won't notice, but he would feel.
The enjoyment ended when she reached his hips and the finding of the dagger made him flinch.
" Don't worry, I won't take your weapon. It's dangerous to go unarmed and I don't want you to get yourself hurted. " She purred close to his ear. " Pleasure to do bussiness with you. "
She turned back to her father for her conclussion.
" You were ríght, Baba. His pretty face is all he has left. "
And with that, she briefly leave them to arrange the profit split with her actual business partner.
Dastan foolishly waved at her, completely enchanted.
" Lovely girl! She grows on you very quick. " He commented to the father in order to excuse himself. " I already love her! "
Amar seemed more cheerfull than angry,
" Of course you do, she is precious as a jewel." He replied, with the pridefull trust of a loving father. " Do you have any idea of how many misserables like you make me terrible offers for her every week? I kick them all out. They come at me bargaining as if I wouldn't know how much she is worth. It's them who spread those rumours to lower the price. They discredit her morals, her suitability for marriage, because I didn't give her the ideal life for a young woman given the business i'm in … What is completely unfair: i may be slightly dishonest, but she is wonderfull. Look at her, can you believe I made s girl so fair? Part of that beauty came out from me."
Reading between línea, it meant his pride of parent was mixed with a certain frustration because he couldn't yet fool someone into marrying her paying the full price of the probably very high dowry he demmanded even tho nobody else believed she could be a good wife. Dastan kept the thing going to please the host, talking as if she was the princess of that land of renegades.
" She is stunning … and so well behaved! Very well mannered. "
His words had a fraction of truth: she behaved very well for him. Dastan's numbed senses already adored her treatment. She had groped him with unbelievable skill, managing to surprise him even after what he saw and he knew the subtle, sensual encounters were not going to stop. Leyla would take every little chance of her father's cheerfull distractions to get what she wanted.
To the runaway prince's luck, what she wanted was him. For the first time in a good while, things were working fine. The gorgeous girl was very good at persuasion and she would take his side because she wanted him. From the moment that she saw him, an instant and undeniably mutual attraction.
Warm, soft hands rounding him from behind warned him of her presence as he watched the ostrich race.
" Leyla! " He sweetly greeted her, slightly surprised. " Do you need me to leave you a good spot to watch?"
She chuckled, approbing his following of her game.
" I'm good like this. "
The great excitement he would typically get from watching the races made her father temporally careless for the touching.
" Don't grow too fond of him, dear. " He warned her, keeping eyes on the track the whole time. " Remember that the last girl who did works for me now."
It didn't take too long for her to end up meeting the so commented girl. For most, she tried to remain silent merely observing the persian's reactions in an attempt of checking if she could be potential competition. Despite she had to admit she was very beautifull, her disastrous work performance made her laugh.
Too arrogant for a slave girl, and she didn't seem to have worked a single day of her life before.
Her disdain and lack of interest on performing didn't bother the new master, however, who seemed happy with the new adquisition.
" You know? I think our little arrangement is going to work out very well, young man."
The girl clearly couldn't handle it, the approach of men that were thristy in more than one sense of the term was too much for her. Laughter was not long in coming from the men when she threw the contents of one glass at a man's face.
" She is a lovely one! Where did you find her?"
" In the slave market of Lurs." The persian explained. " I was heading to Avrat, tried to trade her for a camel when she attacked me."
" The camels are safer."
Leyla agreed with soft chuckling, trying to get the handsome stranger's attention back on her. Her suspicious observation about the slave got some sort of confirmation, since there were pieces of his story that didn't fit. Even the most rebellious of slaves wouldn't behave like that, she acted as if she believed herself too above the tasks that was assigned for her. Beyond disdain for her masters, her reactions showed the typical repulsion of a noble for the underclasses.
He was lying, but she dismissed it hoping to see how far he was going to get. All she wanted then was to keep him, so she distracted him trailing a few pecks on the side of his neck.
" You are not going to miss her, I will take care of you."
Fear of the father overcame his desire for the daughter and he escaped her grip to finally present his request for a deal with him before she could get both of them in trouble.
" Noble Sheik Amar!" Dastan called in a flattering tone. " I appreciate your hospitality, you run a fine establishment, and the beauty of your daughter is a comfort for my senses punished by the desert ... but if you could give me the supplies..."
His luck had ran out, and the trader had lost his patience. The soft caressing of the girl was replaced by his firm grip keeping his jaw still as he threatened him.
" You know something, Persian? You bear a remarkable resemblance to the disgraced prince who fled after murdering the king."
Laughing nervously in a quick observation of the faces arround him as soon as he was released, the prince knew it was time to run and he tried so, but was easily stopped.
To an order of the Sheik, Seso threw a knife that got the sleeve of Dastan's coat stucked in a pole and Amar didn't loose the shot to taunt him.
"  Did I ever tell you about the Ngbaka? "
The persian prince agreed with resignation.
" Yes, you did."
He was surrounded of enemies, only Leyla kept looking at him with excitement, careless for the implications of the crime but delighted to the mention of his lost nobility.
Her father kept rambling while she silently evaluated the situation.
" Yeah, nothing beats a good story, eh? But yours however, trading her in for a camel, please! I mean look at her, she's worth at least two! "
He was taking the time of showing him how much of a terrible liar he was at the same time the warrior was about to point a knife to his throat.
" And as for you, young man, do you know your brother's offered a reward for you? Which quite frankly between you and me, borders on the obscene! I'd trade in my own mother for that kind of gold."
Seso gave him a surprised reprobatory look.
" What?" Sheik defended himself. " Oh you didn't know what she was like."
Fed up with the whole thing, he just wanted to get rid of the persian and collect the gold.
" Take him to the persian outpost."
Leyla leapt to the young man's defense, shielding him with her frame so Seso could not finish to fullfill the command.
" I can't allow it. I like him, Baba! For real! " She explained herself, more or less claimed to be trully infatuated with him. " And you never let me keep anything for myself, it's so unfair! "
She turned back, sweetly smiling at Dastan like a crushing girl offering herself to her love interest.
He smiled back, partially as acceptance but also out of will to escape the already growing rage of her father and his plan of handling him to get killed.
" WHAT ARE YOU DOING? YOU ARE GOING TO COST ME A FORTUNE! " Amar yelled, somehow shocked because he couldn't imagine she would have done something so stupid. " NEXT WEEK YOU WILL FIND ANOTHER ONE, DO YOU THINK THAT I IGNORE YOUR WAYS WITH MEN? I CHOOSE TO TURN THE BLIND EYE ON YOU! "
The release of honesty didn't upset her.
"I will not see a single piece of that gold anyways, you will hoard it as you always do."
Another argument started as he tried to convince his daughter of following his plan, presenting it as a convenience for both of them that she wasn't seeing.
" That's not true! I know, I'm not supportive of your spending habits, but with that treasure in our hands I will not have to worry for that anymore! " He reassured her. " Baba will spoil you with it, as you have always deserved. Fancy dresses, fine jewels. Do you want a pretty boy? We will get you one in the slave market, as good looking as him, no matter the price. "
The offer seemed to have tempted her, but none of them could tell if she was just taunting them.
" But I want him." She simply replied, caressing Dastan's chest. " and that I won't get if you give him away."
The young man entered their game hoping to save his head.
" Leyla! My flower of the desert! " He praised her with all his charm. " I knew I could count on you."
" It won't be for free. " She quickly clarified him. " What can you give to beat his offer?"
Angry as he was, Amar was still very proud observing her cleverness for business in action. He had raised her well, no matter what the mean spirited gossips claimed. She had what it took to defend herself in life.
" Anything your heart desires, my love. " Dastan assured her, his tone sweet and sensual in equal amounts. " Whatever it takes to keep you pleased. I have to leave so I can clean my name, I didn't actually kill my father like you must have heard. Once that would be clarified, only your wildest dreams would be the limit to what I can give you."
It pleased her and he tought himself keeping the upper hand for once, but she had it better on negociation experience.
" Marry me." Was her final price. " Get back that crown and make me a persian princess so we can offer Abbi a greater reward than the one already waiting for him."
" Risky investment, I prefer the quicker profit. " Her father objected. " Even if he isn't lying again, he can fail and I loose everything."
" If he succeeds, you get a lifetime of immeasurable richness as father of the princess. " She striked back. " Persian luxury, payback for the looting of the bureaucrats. I will marry into fortune, like you always wanted! And into the wealthiest family in the world! "
He began to hesitate, it was too good to not reconsider even for an instant.
" What do you say, Habibi? " She asked back at Dastan. " Everyone knows your story: the street kid made prince! I doubt our union would surprise them, the mere fact that you got crowned challenges the structure of their privilege."
He was as shocked as he once was when the chance of marrying Tamina was presented to him by his father. If he would be there, he would probably say that both women and their complete opposite personalities symbolized the two halves of his being. The princess, once offered to his adopted prince persona, and the dancer of treader family, so in tone with the part of him that was a birth member of the lowest underclass.
" Father may get on board for the gold, but I'm doing it for you." She softly clarified at the end. " You have won me over, my Ghalibi."
She made him feel things, but in such dubious situation he could only provide a dubious answer.
" It's a fair trade."
Leyla interpreted it as a yes and she clinged to him for a passionate kiss seiling the deal.
The desired moment took him by surprise and, while enjoying it, he let himself go before he could remember to protect the dagger.
" A guarantee for my investment." She triumphally explained, toying with it. " It's the only valuable thing you carry and I'm not going to be such a fool of just assuming you will keep to your word. "
Desperation began to overcome him, but he tried to dissimulate it.
" It's nothing, totally worthless. It may look valuable, but it's not."
He could fool the world, but not her. She had felt him watching over it the whole time whenever she would grab his hips.
" You are too defensive of it, for a simple knife." She called him out. " If you care soo much for it, you will come back."
The time being offered to him was a lending, and he was not going to explain her how loans worked.

So far, BotW and TotK trailers have shown us several different (potential) faces of Ganondorf, coded in a variety of ways:
[Neutral] The petroglyph of him in armor, seated on his giant horse, armed with a trident, riding in to battle with Gerudo horseback archers.
[Neutral but sympathetic] A brief flash of when he was potentially captured or sacrificed below ground: his body thin and thrown backward and off balance as a mysterious, clawed hand darts for his chest.
[Neutral to Evil but sympathetic] A mummified husk of a man caught in a horrific undead stasis for perhaps thousands of years, presumably bound by that glowing clawed hand. The presumed malice around him is calmer, perhaps dormant. Once reanimated, his original eyes are replaced with malice eyeballs as tendrils of agitated malice burst from his body.
[Evil] A petroglyph panel of a huge bearded man, grinning as a horde of monsters rush toward armed people, as malice covers the land.
[Neutral to potentially Good] Character art of a very beefy Ganondorf, with echoes of warrior priest with high ronin energy, devoid of his characteristic smirk and malicious grin, crowned with a magatama similar to the one Zelda wears. He is arguably coded to appear potentially more heroic, humbled, vulnerable, and less evil. His stance and appearance looks suspiciously similar to the Ancient Hero in the tapestry from 10k years ago.
Hypothesis of Ganondorf’s involvement in TotK under the cut.
This aligns to a lot of the hypotheses from others with the release of the first trailer, but I think we’re going to get flashbacks to a more sympathetic Ganondorf from ages past, much like how the flashback system of Breath of the Wild allowed the player some insight into who Zelda was a century ago. Prior interviews with the Ocarina of Time writers mentioned that they originally wanted to make Ganondorf a fallen hero. This might be a new narrative team’s swing at doing just that: That we get glimpses of Ganondorf’s heroics and eventual downfall before we eventually face what’s left of him, tens of thousands of years later.
If this is the case, I have no good speculation around how they could insert a less-evil Ganondorf into the earlier timeline without one or more of the following: 1.) prior evil Ganondorf(s) had died but he was reincarnated / reborn into a fresh new life (perhaps at a time when Link isn’t around, so there is less of the cosmic balancing act between the Hylia / Demise influence?), 2.) at some point down the line, there was a split of Ganon from Ganondorf, 3.) multiverse shenanigans (like Termina), 4.) something something time travel hijinks.
Regardless of the underlying scenarios, I think we’re going to see an almost pre-Ocarina of Time-like arc of Ganondorf turning into a villain; an origin story of that epoch. I hope there is nuance and layers and depth to him and his whole story. Zelda certainly was portrayed in Breath of the Wild as a far more flawed and complex person than just damsel in distress; it’s about time we get more insight into who Ganondorf was / is as a person.

Katsuki was pacing back and forth in his living room after he read the last text you sent.
What kind of news do you mean? Good news? Bad news? Fuck, were you planning to tell him you’re staying there permanently? His hands have been clammy ever since and he thought to ask you but he decided against it in case you were busy finalizing anything before leaving.
“Katsuki, settle down. (Y/n)’s gonna get here when they get here, Honey.” his mom’s voice called out from where she was sitting on the couch. He gave a small huff before plopping down right next to her. Though she seemed calm on the outside, Katsuki could see the slight bouncing of her leg as she was reading the newspaper.
Mitsuki Bakugou wasn’t stupid, she could tell something happened between the two of you. Her son has been calmer in the past two years than he ever has in his life. She’s noticed how he always casts a glance at his phone, a sparkle erupting from his eyes when he reads a message from you. She wanted to ask about it but chose not to because watching her son fumble while typing was kind of endearing.
Though she didn’t talk to Katsuki about it, she did gossip with Masaru when the two were in their shared bed for the night.
“Our Katsuki has grown up a lot, hasn’t he?” she sighed, glancing over at her husband. He let out a chuckle, removing his glasses and resting it on the bedside table.
“He sure has, I know you’ve been enjoying seeing him all flustered, but imagine what he’s going to be like when (Y/n) does come back.” and the two started giggling with each other.
“Oh lord, I hope we get a video of it. (Y/n)’s done a number on him, haven’t they.” She agreed.
“Dude what does (Y/n) mean by ‘news’?? Do they not know how rude it is to just leave someone on a cliff hanger like that?! And then we have to wait a whole day to find out the answer?! This is a sick game.” Denki whined from the other couch across from them. Him and the rest of the group were in his house just waiting around.
“You know what can get your mind off of it?” Mitsuki laughed, looking up from the papers in her hand. Denki looked at her with hope dancing his eyes. “You kids can go do your jobs as heroes.” she stated and the way Denki’s face dropped at her answer made her stand up with a chuckle.
“Honestly, their flight is 10 hours. Instead of waiting in my house and torturing yourselves, go and find some criminals and stop eating my food!” she exclaimed before making her way to the kitchen.
“That’s cold Mrs. Katsuki’s Mom! But I mean if the city really needs me or whatever I guess I’ll go.” Denki playfully rolled his eyes before getting off the sofa. The rest of them followed suit and before they could make their way towards the door, “Yeah yeah, here are some snacks for the road! Be safe!” they all took the cookies from her hands and waved thanks before leaving.
It was an excruciating 10 hours, not only for Katsuki with the waiting around while he got bored fighting criminals, but also for you, who’s ass was feeling numb due to sitting for so long. The little ‘ding dong’ from the pilot’s intercom rang.
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen, we have at last reached our destination here at Air Japan, we now ask that you put on your seat belts and give us a few moments to get everyone landed safely.” and with that, the sound of everyone’s seat belts clicked into place as the plane began its descent.
“Welcome to Tokyo International Airport, our flight attendants will help with carry-ons, all luggage can be found at baggage claim on the lower floor, thank you for flying with Air Japan.” and everyone was bumbling to get their stuff to get off the plane.
It wasn’t until you were walking through the exit tunnel that your heart started palpitating, you could feel it in your palms as you were gripping your bag. The deep breath that filled your lungs did little to help with the nervousness in your steps as you got closer to the entrance.
What am I so worried about? I saw these guys on Katsuki’s birthday when they all flew over. Why am I nervous to see them all again now?
You made your way down a level to get the large suitcase that arrived separately before looking around for your large group of friends. You thought you should call one of them but then a flash of blond hair caught your eye.
Through the other side of the glass wall was Katsuki, just Katsuki, staring back at you with a faint smile resting on his face. You took another deep breath before making your way towards him, but you barely got three steps outside before he threw himself onto you. His arms wrapped itself around you, pulling you into his embrace. His nose took in your scent as if it was the one thing keeping him from falling.
“You’re here, finally.” he grumbled into your hair and that was all it took for you to wrap your arms around him too. The two of you stood there for a good minute, arms not wanting to let the other go. He reluctantly did when the sound of a honking taxi ruined the moment.
“It’s good to be back..” you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding, and the next inhale you took in was filled with his intoxicating cologne.
“Come on, you must be tired, let’s get you back home.” he brought you to his car and when the passenger’s door was open, there was a gift bag resting on the seat. You made eye contact with him as he went around to the driver’s side.
“It was supposed to be the gift for you when you left. I told you I’d keep it until you came back.” he smirked before you both settled into the car. He motioned for you to take the gift out and you took no time reaching in.
The soft fabric made contact with your fingertips before you pulled it out. In your hands rested a vermilion knitted scarf. On both ends of it were embroidered the explosion flares that matched the ones on the back of his hero mask. You couldn’t help the grin that came to your face when you saw it.
“You did this?” and you knew the answer before that question left your mouth.
“Yeah…it took a bit longer than I’d like to admit. I wanted you to have it since Canada tends to be colder than here. It killed me when I couldn’t give it to you before you left.” he explained before starting the car.
“Well, lucky I came back when it’s starting to get cold again huh?” The smile you sent him eased his worries as the car started taking off.
The two of you were silent for a few minutes, only the soft music playing was heard.
“So- where is everyone else? From your messages I thought everyone was coming?” you broke the silence.
“Oh, they figured you’d be exhausted from the new time adjustment so they’ll let you rest until tomorrow,” he answered.
“By the way, Izuku thought since I was the one picking you up, that you should stay with us? We have your guest bedroom all set up if you’re okay with it..” he added, his eyes not wanting to meet yours in case you rejected the offer.
“That sounds good. I really need to sleep in a familiar place tonight.” you didn’t know how tired you were until a yawn escaped you, and the soft music wasn’t helping at keeping you awake. Before you knew it, you were passed out in Katsuki’s car to the feeling of his steady driving and the passing road signs.
When he parked, Katsuki knew he had to be gentle, let you get as much rest as you could. He went over to the passenger’s side and hooked his arms under you to carry you out. His dad opened the front door for him (he heard the car pull in and the driver’s doors shutting) and went to help bring your stuff inside.
Katsuki brought you to the guest room and settled you down on the bed. Your unconscious self immediately wiggled further into the soft pillows as soon as he draped the blankets over you. Masaru left your bags on the floor at the end of the bed for you and the two left you alone to rest for the night.
When the next morning came around, you were disturbed from your sleep by the sound of loud yelling from the other side of the guest door.
“-Come on! It’s 1 in the afternoon! They’ve been asleep for 14 hours straight! I wanna see them!” that was Denki’s voice.
“Okay, just for that, you’ll be the last to see them. Leave my house.” Katsuki’s voice rang out. Denki laughed at his stern voice knowing he wasn’t serious. You mustered up the energy to get up, taking a moment to stretch, and going to open the door.
“(Y/N)!” Denki yelled before glomping you into a hug. You hugged back before meeting eyes with the rest of the group. Izuku was the next one to be hugged.
“I’m glad you got back alright.” Shinsou grinned before going in for his hug. One by one, everyone else got a hug too and they all let you freshen up before you met them all downstairs, meeting Mitsuki and Masaru’s hugs on the way.
“So! What’s the big news that you wanted to tell us? I’ve been on the edge all day.” Denki asks as soon as you sit down in between Shoto and Katsuki on the big couch.
“Well, I got promoted at my firm! They want me to supervise the junior designers!” you exclaimed, but the grin on your face slowly disappeared when their faces didn’t show any excitement as you’d hoped. Bakugou could feel his heart steeling up to hear you say what he dreaded.
“Does that mean…you’ll be there permanently?” Shoto asked, the frown on his face only making his puppy eyes more heartbreaking.
“That’s the best part! They’re transferring me to their newest branch right here in Japan! I’m staying here!” and that was when they roared to life with cheers. Bakugou felt his heart settle down with joy.
“WHY DIDN’T YOU START WITH THAT! I WAS ABOUT TO CRY!” Izuku yelled from his seat. And for the next several hours, you all spent the time talking to each other about everything that’s happened in the past two years. Katsuki couldn’t get the smile off his face, not that he wanted to in the first place.
When the evening came, you all separated ways, making sure to make plans to hang out soon to make up for lost time.
“Want to take a walk with me?” Katsuki asked, his hand holding the scarf he made you. You nodded before going to put on your shoes. He gently wrapped the scarf around your neck before you two went to take in the November air.
The sound of wind whistling through the autumn leaves accompanied you two for a few minutes.
“Hey, do you mind if I read you something? I don’t think there’s a better time than now…” he trailed off, fumbling with something from his pocket. You nodded, watching him pull out a small envelope with a card inside, and you swore you could hear him taking deep breaths to calm himself.
“Racking my brain for many days and many nights, For the right words to describe the way you make me feel. Like the fireplace warmth on a cold winter night, Like the first bite of food after starving for a meal,
Like discovering a new bloom On a long lasting plant. If I don’t say it now,  I might lose the chance.
(Y/n), I’m in love with you, I’ll say it a million times over if I must, I’ll wait forever if that’s what it takes, For me to gain back your trust.”
His voice wavered as he read over what he wrote for you two years ago. And the two of you stopped walking as he finished. His stomach was on fire and it shows through the heavy blush on his face (He blames the cold weather).
“Did you write that?” you asked, not looking over to him, your breathing was stilled, not wanting to believe your ears.
“I did. I meant to give it to you with the scarf.” he cast his eyes down at his shoes. He prayed to anything that was holy that you still had some feelings for him, that he still had a chance to make it right, that he hadn’t lost you.
“Do you mean it?” your voice was so quiet, he almost missed the question.
“Every word.” was his immediate answer.
He was done being stupid. He was done denying his feelings for you. He was done with his massive ego that almost cost your friendship.
“(Y/n), if you don’t feel the same way for me anymore, I completely understand. I royally messed up and I hurt you. But if some part of you still feels the same way, please give me the chance to show you how much you mean to me.” he stumbled and walked to stand in front of you. His movement had you looking up and making contact with his red eyes that had determination written all over.
“I just, don’t want to risk getting hurt again if this is a spur of the moment thing.” you explained to him and he was quick to shake his head.
“No, I promise you I’d sooner allow Shinsou to use his quirk on me than to ever hurt you again. It’s not a spur of the moment, I’ve waited two years for you and I’ll wait even more if you need time.” His eyes were begging you to believe him, and you’d never seen him like this before.
It tugged at your heartstrings, it nipped at your fingertips, it engulfed you whole; how much you loved him.
“One date.” you held up a finger to him to indicate your point. And his eyes lit up. His heartbeat raced.
“One date. Okay, okay good, great. Thank you!” he nodded and before he knew it, he planted a kiss on your cheek when he came in for a hug. It took the both of you by surprise, but it wasn’t unwelcome, indicated by the blushes on your cheeks.
Although he didn’t have a day in mind yet, Katsuki was planning to make you feel special whenever the day may be, and all the days after that. Yes, Shoto has called him whipped at least 6 times already, but he didn’t care (because, yes, he is.) There’s not a chance in hell he’s messing this up, he’s completely and hopelessly enamored of you, it’s about time he expressed it don’t you think?

Tiger & Bunny Week (Day 1)
Technically I'm late but uhhhhhhhhhhhhh
April 2: Favorite Character, Episode, Movie, and/or Song
Most people seem to be doing them all, but I'll be skipping movie since there's only 2 of them.
Favourite Character:
Tumblr media
MY CRINGEFAIL SON IVAN!!!! I relate to him immensely, even his dynamic with Edward I'd say I can somewhat relate to with someone in my life. It's uncanny. He tries his best to be outgoing but anxiety and self esteem issues sure are fucking bitches, so he can only really do it behind a mask. Even in S2 whilst his whole outlook may have taken a bit of a rollback, that's honestly realistic, not everyone can just keep marching and continuously improving themselves, there are setbacks and holes you can fall into at times. I wish we knew more about his personal life beyond his backstory of getting bullied as a child + what vague stuff we have of his hero academy days, a lot of heroes suffer from this, however. His passion for his hobbies is also just like me. He's cringe but he is free, just like many of us wish to be. Runner up is Keith I love the Autistic dog man
Favourite Episode:
Tumblr media
I gotta go with Sky's The Limit. The title is a very OH GEE WHOS FOCUS EPISODE IS THIS kind but genuinely it doesn't prepare you for the content. There's a wholeass lore drop, an intense fight scene with a robot, and of course Keith being Keith. It also puts into focus just how much pressure heroes are put under when it comes to the rankings, and second place apparently not being enough for Poseidon Line is a very corporate reality. It's go big or go home. The ending is also like OH MY GOD IM CRYING???? Like, we know Cis isn't very capable of behaving like a human, but Keith doesn't realise she's not human at all, he treats her as any other person and falls harder than an anvil for her despite their short time in contact. It makes me think that Cis had a potential to be something, someone more than she was initially made for. And these two are a bit of a guilty pleasure ship that me and like 2 other people in the west side seem to ship and yes I will be taking those "Keith is still lowkey in love with her even in S2 era" crumbs thank you-
Favourite Song:
Oh shit this is where it gets tricky. I have so many, so I'll split it into categories:
OP: Earth Diver ED: Pilot Character Song: GHHHAAAAAA DONT MAKE ME CHOOOOOSE Other supplementary Song: Orion Wo Nazoru Hero Cover
I can't really put to words for Earth Diver, but I really like how it starts and kinda soothes you into the song before it really kicks. The lyrics are also very passionately sung.
I really like the calmer tone of Pilot and even though the explicitness of the shippyness isn't as heavy as Aida, the subtlety honestly fits them more. The credits themselves are also just beautiful; the visual aspect of them hits immensely hard in ep 14 especially since you saw what could happen to their suits in the fight the episode prior, and they're both no longer in their prime. Closing it out as they stare at the sunset makes me emotional and Proud Fiesta I love you but goddamn why did you return for Episode 25 that was a fucking mood killer I stg.
I love a lot of the character songs, with the ones from Best Of Hero very enjoyable romps, especially Mikirezakura and Thanks and Thanks Again, the energy these two songs have makes you wanna coreograph something. Some other highlights are POWER OF JUSTICE and Aaa Hero Suit. (Also Hidden Heroism actually kinda sucks it tries to be Mikirezakura 2 and thus loses out on an identity of its own which is very disappointing).
I love the harmony of the heroes cover of Orion, I can really picture them all in recording booths singing next to each other...who's the cheering guy, though? I've listened to this cover so many times and the line the cheering guy seemingly sings just sounds like Hirata's Kotetsu, I don't get it. I get wanting to balance the lyrics between groups and characters evenly but that was an awkward way to do it.

I'm writing a fanfic centered around Wally Linda Irey and Jai, but I can't find any comics where Irey and Jai have like. Actual personalities lmao. I've found like one where Wally helps Jai use his powers without being in extreme pain but other than that they just seem like Typical Comic Book Kids. Ik plenty about the rest of the FlashFam but for some reason Irey and Jai aren't like. Given personalities from what I can tell? Do you have any suggestions?
I'm not really sure what you have read but the Wild Wests established their personalities fairly well. Adams run has also done that.
Irey is a lot like her father. A lot like her father. She's quick to anger and even quicker to lash out. Unlike Wally at that age, her favorite weapon isn't her fists but her tongue. That kid can be mean when she's mad. Irey has an almost teenaged level of sarcasm and sass up her sleeve at all times.
Not to say that she isn't nice as well. She's extremely friendly and outgoing. She puts herself out there and makes friends in a snap. Again... she's a lot like her father. 100% full throttle into whatever emotion she's feeling at the time.
And yeah, beyond that she's a pretty typical speedster child. ADHD to the max. Wants to be a hero and save people even though she's like 9. Dreams of being the Flash's sidekick. Absolutely adores the Flash (Wally). Again, think young KF Wally to get Irey's personality. Even down to the 'wants to be smart about it but is still impulsive as fuck' thing. Irey is 100% the kid with the plan. She thinks things through. She also does things without thinking. No, they aren't mutually exclusive. She has ADHD.
Now Jai.
Jai is a good mix of his parent's personalities. Think 'Blue Valley' era Wally and 'pre dating Wally' Linda. Jai is shy and withdrawn. He prefers solitary activities like journaling, reading and playing videogames. When he's excited he can be hyperactive but he isn't really 'active' the way Irey is. He doesn't have an unlimited amount of energy to burn, just normal kid energy.
Jai is calmer. Personality wise and in general. He lets things simmer. He mulls things over and thinks about things. He is slow to change his emotions. Stubborn even. Jai's baseline is 'annoyed and snappy with Irey' or 'vulnerable shy child emerges from his shell to speak to his parents'.
He's a bit of a lonely kid. Not that you would pick up on that around his family. But at school or at the park? Jai doesn't know how to make friends with other children.
When he's with Irey, he's fine but Jai isn't very functional alone. Despite how much he says that he resents Irey, he's extremely codependent. I can understand his perspective. She annoys him but she's also always been there for him. She's the only one who understands him and she was quite literally the only child he had met until he was seven years old. And then he only started going to school at eight. So he didn't really get to develop his social life beyond Irey.
Jai compares himself a lot to Irey. She's the perfect golden child. Superspeed, extremely social, smart, ect. Jai envies her. He wants her powers, her friends and her grades. He was extremely grouchy and depressed when he didn't have powers because it exacerbated this comparison. He's a little bit better now. A little bit.
That's not to say that he hates Irey. He doesn't. They're siblings and they'd do anything for each other. They are extremely protective of their twin (Irey lied to Jai about their illness being fatal to spare his feelings, Irey comforted Jai when he found out, Irey had been subconsciously sharing her powers with Jai, Irey took them back when she found out it was hurting him, Irey gave Jai her powers again when he asked, Jai saved Irey from kidnappers solo, Jai saved Irey from the blowback in OMW, ect, ect) They just also annoy the absolute hell out of each other.

Tell me about Silver’s humility
From what I can tell, humility is defined as "being humble" where humble is defined as being not proud, haughty, arrogant, full of yourself, or seeing yourself as someone important. It can also mean that you are meek, or submissive to others/low in a hierarchy, it seems.
Based on those definitions, I would argue Silver hardly, if ever, shows humility. In '06, he spends multiple in-game voice lines hyping up his powers and himself as a solution for troubles he comes across, for example: thus, he has a strong confidence in himself and his powers (where especially the latter is not misplaced). I can also recall him calling enemies "trash" and stating that he'll take them all out and such, which is also not very humble of him. Most notably, he makes zero attempts to apologise to Sonic for the dual attempts on his life or the fact Silver's interventions directly led to Elise getting kidnapped again both times. Sonic clearly doesn't mind, but I am not sure to what extend we can argue Silver feels bad about it or is angry at himself for what happened. I don't get the feeling it knocked his self-perception down a few pegs? Overall, "extremely confident in himself, his abilities, and capabilities to save the world" alongside a generally assertive nature (as his moments of dependency on Blaze are very short-lasting and apparently only present in the English script, or so I heard; he also generally seems to be the one making the decisions that Blaze follows) seem to fit Silver best in '06. The only moment wherein I can think of him being more meek is when Amy snatches him off the streets to help her look for Sonic and after his fallout with her, and that does not translate 1-on-1 to humility, I would argue.
The Rivals games up Silver's temper a notch, and he's noticeably ruder and snappier to others. However, I find it interesting that this temper comes accompanied by Silver also trying to "play mediator". In the very first cutscene of his story in Rivals 1 he is trying to talk to "Eggman" as opposed to fighting him immediately, for example. And there is more instances wherein he is not the one explicitly instigating a fight, or where he is trying to talk to other characters (such as explaining to Shadow that "Eggman" might not be who he is). Most importantly, he concludes his story by stating the past will be safe as long as Sonic and Shadow are around, and he notably describes them as brave (Knuckles however can apparently go fuck himself lol). I doubt that that is a clear indication that Silver is humble, but he can show appreciation for what others do for him and he can see others' talents and good traits. And in Rivals 2, he is genuinely grateful for Espio's help, thanking him multiple times in the games for what he is doing. Also here he is far from humble and Espio doesn't boss him around at all, but we can see that Silver is not so full of himself it makes him unable to accept anyone's help.
Also in other games, even those wherein he is calmer, I would not describe Silver as notably humble. In Colours DS he is disappointed by the lack of a fight Orbot and Cubot can deliver after expressing eagerness to see what "robots from this era" can do, and in Generations he says his rematch with Sonic will be fun: he clearly is confident enough to enjoy fighting, and even seems to look forward to it. I doubt someone who is not sure of himself and his capabilities would be so enthusiastic, if that makes sense. Though, I do have to think about a Sonic Channel story now, wherein Silver is quite clear he's not trying to be a hero but just wants to help out and stop calamity from happening. Perhaps that can be seen as humility? In this story he's generally quite a bit calmer and a bit more apologetic than in the games themselves, I feel like. Plus, he shows unwavering faith in Sonic as well, and he might be downplaying his heroics somewhat at the end? So maybe! Those are traits I would describe as humble, but it might also be Silver just not caring about what other people think about him so much.
Overall, the best conclusion I can give is that Silver holds an appreciation for his friends and values them and their abilities, but he also has an unwavering faith in his own, and for good reason. Not exactly the trademarks of a humble person, but I think he is able to like... not be overtly haughty and arrogant and in that way incapable of changing his opinion or cooperating, so to say. And the Sonic Channel story has him display a more humble demeanour with a focus on him not being a hero, but just a helpful person. So when it comes to Silver being humble, I think that is the best place to look!

He's my son, not yours! Part 3
Part 1 Part 2
Another shoutout to @gelu-the-babosa-multiversal. Hope you all enjoy! Sorry again for taking so long. Life is busy.
"Chief, are you unwell?" Chase asked, pulling Charlie from his thoughts.
"Huh? What was that, Chase?" Charlie asked.
"Sir, you have been acting unusual all day." Chase commented. "Are you feeling unwell?"
Charlie gave a weak smile at his partner. "No, I promise. Just have a lot on my mind."
"Well, we have finished our nightly patrol." Chase announced as they drove to the Firehouse.
"Already?" Chief asked. "Time flew by fast." Once they were inside the Firehouse, he got out of the driver's seat. "Think I'm gonna call it a night. See you in the morning, partner."
"Have a pleasant rest, Chief Burns." Chase said as he transformers and went to the base.
Once he was away from the police-bot, Charlie allowed himself to stop smiling. Since the incident this afternoon, he's been in a negative mood. He knew he was being ridiculous, but what that woman said had gotten him.
While being called 'grandpa' was a hit to his ego, (he knew he wasn't a young man, but he wouldn't consider himself that old.) It was wait she said about Captain Rogers and Cody that really got under his skin. And seeing Captain Rogers with Cody and Cody practically showing his adoration for the war hero for the whole world to see only added salt to that wound.
And Tony's words kept echoing faintly in his head. "If you're not careful, Cap could take your place as Cody's dad."
He just wanted to go to his bed and try to forget about this afternoon. Hopeful a good sleep would help him realize how stupid this entire thing was. But as he got closer to the kitchen, he overheard Dani speak.
"And then that hag called dad 'grandpa'!" He heard her say. He felt a knot form his stomach.
"Does she have to tell everyone about that?" He thought. He knew she meant no harm, but it still made him uncomfortable.
"Who does that lady think she is?!" Kade asked, sounding outraged.
"That's how I felt!" Dani exclaimed. Then Charlie heard her take a deep breath, then she spoke in a calmer tone. "Though we did see Captain America again. He was waiting with Cody, the lady thought he was Cody's dad."
"Well, I guess that kind of makes sense why she would think Captain Rogers was Cody's dad." He heard Graham comment.
Then Kade spoke up. "Yeah, I'm their both blonds, they dress alike, at least when Captain America isn't wearing his costume."
"And they do have a lot in common, when you think about it." Charlie heard Graham add. "They both have that boy-scout attitude, they're both rather old-fashioned, and even have some of the same interests."
Chief stood still as the knot in his stomach seemed to grow and expand to his whole body. "Even my own kids think Captain America could be more like a father to Cody than me?" He felt his blood burn a bit.
Not wanting to hear anymore, he marched into the kitchen, startling the three.
"Dad! Hey, uh, welcome back." Dani awkwardly. "How was-"
"Have any of you seen Cody?" Chief Burns asked, sounding rather snappy. "I need to talk to him."
"He's the bots." Kade replied.
"Thanks." He replied, curtly. "I'm gonna see him and then I'm gonna call it a night." Then he walked away, not giving his three older kids a chance to say anymore.
"Has he been that moody all day?" Kade asked.
"Cut him slack, Kade." Dani scolded. "I just told you what happened."
"Yeah, just didn't think he'd still be upset about it." Kade declared.
Graham frowned. "This isn't just because of the 'grandpa' thing, is it?"
Dani frowned. "He hasn't officially said anything, but I figure Captain Rogers being confused as Cody's dad got to him more than the grandpa thing."
"What makes you think that?" Graham asked. "He's never seemed to mind Captain Rogers behaving like that towards Cody before."
"And its not like Captain Rogers is trying to replace Dad." Kade added.
Then Dani said. "Still, I think Dad might be a bit jealous. Or at least thinks Cody would rather have Captain Rogers as a dad instead of him."
"That ridiculous." Kade declared. "Cody would never do that. He loves Dad, he's his hero."
"What did Cody say about this?" Graham asked. "He wouldn't let Dad feel like that."
"I didn't tell him." Dani admitted. "I didn't want him to feel bad and things were already tense, I didn't want to risk making it worse. Hopefully, when Dad goes to see him, he'll be able to make him feel better, even if he doesn't understand why Dad's upset."
"Yeah, like Kade said, Dad is Cody's hero." Graham said. "He wouldn't want anyone else as a father, not even a superhero."
"I shouldn't have snapped at them like that." Charlie thought as he went to the Rescue Bots' base.
He knew his kids meant no harm with what they were saying, he just didn't need to hear them so all that, especially after today. And why did Dani have to tell Kade and Graham about all that in the first place? And couldn't they at least pretend that they didn't think Captain America had more in common with his son than he, Cody's actual father, does?
"They could've at least not said it out loud." He thought bitterly.
Then he shook his head, trying to will away those thoughts. "That's not what they said." He tried to tell himself that, but the more he said it in his head, the less he believed it.
"I just need to talk to Cody." He decided. "A quick chat with him will clear all this up."
When he finally arrived at the base, he was about to ask where Cody was. But then he overheard another conversation.
"And then Captain Rogers said he'd take for a ride on his motorcycle sometime." He heard Cody announce. "I hope Dad lets me. Since Captain Rogers let me help work on it, I wanna see what it feels like to actually ride it.
"Of course, Cody's talking about him." Charlie thought in frustration. "It seems to be all he ever talks about since he met the man."
"I still do not understand your admiration for Captain Rogers." He heard Chase declare. "I understand he is a respected soldier, but I thought the law does not approve of vigilante justice."
"Well, he works for the government, at least part of it." Cody replied. "So I guess that makes it okay for them and the rest of the Avengers."
Then he heard Chase hear. "Well, they could at least give them proper identifications as government associates or uniforms."
Then Cody chuckled. "What's wrong with their hero outfits? Their cool. Especially Captain America's! And that shield? So noble!"
"You seem to really like Captain America." Boulder noticed.
"Of course, I do." Cody announced with confidence. "Captain America is my hero!"
Charlie felt something inside him shatter at Cody's declaration. Hearing his son call someone else his hero shouldn't hurt so much, but it did. It felt like someone took glass shards and pierced them directly into his heart. He felt his eyes water up a bit, but refused to cry.
Not wanting to hear anymore, he charged out of the base, and decided to just go straight to his room. He didn't have the strength to deal with this anymore.
"I thought Chief was your hero." Blade asked in a worried tone.
"He is." Cody assured. "But Captain America is my hero, too. They're both my heroes, but Dad will always be my number one hero."
Boulder smiled at Cody. "That's sweet. Oh, did you show him the plate you made for him?"
"Not yet." Cody replied with a small frown. "I've been trying to, but something seems to happen and he doesn't have time to."
Then Chase spoke up. "I have noticed him behaving rather oddly today. He seemed to be rather unfocused today, a bit lethargic, and
"I wouldn't worry too much about it, Chief is made of tough stuff." Heatwave commented. "I'm sure after a good night's sleep, he'll be in a better mood, and you'll get a chance to show him his gift in the morning."
Cody smiled. "You're right! I can show him the plate during breakfast. Maybe he can even use it then."
Once he was in his room and out of his uniform, Charlie gracelessly plopped onto his bed and let out a depressed sigh.
"Of course, Cody would want Captain America for a Dad instead of me." He miserably thought.
You'd have to be absolutely crazy not to want to have a superhero for a father. Captain America was part of the Avengers, one of the biggest superhero teams known. And the man was a war hero! Even if he wasn't a superhero, he still was respected military man that could still be considered amazing.
But it wasn't just that. As much as he hated to admit it, but the more he thought about, the more he had to admit that they did have more in common than he and Cody did. They were both blond, for Pete's sake!
But what made him feel worse, was that if he wanted, Captain Rogers really could take his place as Cody's father if he wanted. As mentioned before, he and Cody had so much in common, much more than he himself had with Cody. So, Cody probably thought it would be easier to talk to Captain Rogers since they had so much in common.
And the biggest thing was that Captain Rogers was younger than him. Chronologically, he was old, but biologically, Captain Rogers was a young man. No wonder that woman thought he was Cody father's, since he was closer to the expected age of a father to a ten-year-old than Charlie was.
And with youth, came energy. Having three grown kids already, as well having been chief of police in Griffin Rock for so long, had worn him out, and while he tried, he admit he didn't always have the time or energy to give Cody the attention he needs and deserves. Cody had always been brave and mature about it, but Charlie could tell it affected him more than Cody dared to admit, not wanting to upset his family.
With Captain Rogers, he still had the energy of a young man, he had the energy to keep up with Cody. And since coming to Griffin Rock, while he was here for a mission, he still managed to make time for Cody, being able to give him plenty of attention, more in the short time here than Charlie had given him his entire life.
As he continued to dwell on these thoughts, the more depressed he seemed to get. In the last desperate attempt to get his mind off all of this, he decided to finally go to sleep. Hoping sleep would allow him to finally relax and recover from all of this.
But sleep never seemed to come to him that night. But those unwanted thoughts and feelings seemed to linger the entire night.
I think this is the biggest thing I've written in a long time. This is a series of misunderstandings, miscommunication, and insecurity on Charlie's part. And not the end of it either...
