Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

NOT generated. edited.#it would be so cool #ive drawn columbo a lot but i haven't drawn a lot of michaels. i was learning things about his outfit AS I WAS DOING THE DAMN #COLORS ON THIS. all the lines done. it was too late to change anything. i did all the lines and colored page by page #i realized my mistakes on like page 3. 1 and 2 were already done. it was Too Late.#imagine it though. them working a case together. switching between the more serious tone of columbo vs the goofier #action antics of michael and kitt. columbo being so impressed by Modern Technology. there's more i could say but phoenix may write #more of this crossover and i don't want to spoil it :'3 #there's opportunity here though i swear. there's gold to be dug.#i like how kitt gets shading but columbo's junker peugeot doesn't. kitt looked wrong without any. columbo's car is matte and dirty #i also applied effects to this to make it look a little film-grainy and VHS like. some CRT TV vibes #the only question left is. did they put knight rider into columbo; or columbo into knight rider 🤔

Ideas and feedback welcome.#The core idea behind this AU is that LWJ goes to study with the Yunmeng Jiang sect instead of JC and WWX going to Cloud Recess #But why? Well I imagine Lan Xichen set it up to give LWJ a challenge (more social than skill based) and LWJ rose to it (begrudgingly)#Sort of a 'You've mastered so many Lan techniques but Other Sects have styles that are worth learning.' set up.#Lan Qiren agrees mostly on the basis that...well it's LWJ. Yunmeng Jiang is unruly but LWJ is beyond that riff-raff. He'll rise above it.#This is the story of a boy who thrives on routine and rules spending time in a place that is his apparent antithesis.#Also it is so warm there. He is used to it being cold and what do you MEAN just take off some of my layers?#I just want to see him struggle and flail in many situations. And get him in Jiang Purple. Is that so wrong of me?#(Soaking wet JC is part of my 'JC was born to swim; forced to hold a sword' agenda. #should've just yoinked someone else's design and reference them #i feel like im drawing bloodhound/velahound/octane/omen/kayo/shaxx/kaiser all at the same time #i basically just look at a body part and see what my brain has for it and slap it on #probably the worst you can go for character design #doesn't have a lot of bones because i can't come up with any original design and i don't wanna actually search for any reference for ideas #oh well. i literally came up with this only when i need to draw his lineart for yesterday's comic so not exactly surprising #i love capes and mysterious hooded pure black shadowed head so not even gonna design a helmet for him #also solves the bone plug issue because for the love of void i can't even understand half of what ordan is saying #that's the consequence of giving all your skill points on mathy stuff and none on literature #i mean i guess the bone plugs are somewhere at or above the neck??? so it's gonna be covered up anyways #im probably gonna go for roughly this design for ordan karris for now #i feel like i shouldn't even let him talk because any dialogues i come up with ruins his image #but idk. how many cool and stern characters' image have i ruined up until this point? yeah definitely not the first time #warframe #warframe ordan karris #my art

Ik step3 bax wouldn't say *matching* rings but i had to get the joke in two panels (him getting all soft for a second when he notices the mc still wearing smth they bought together or smth)
