Hey there👋👋 could you please do whatever love language of the bamboos are ??
LOVE LANGUAGE OF THE BATBOYS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: terribly sorry I let this request collect dust. My interest in comics fell as life got hectic and whatever the hell. I won't go all Wattpad author on you.
Dick Grayson’s love language is words of affirmation. At the peak of his characterization, he is a man ravenous for praise and attention. A moment of peace, of relief, of sweetness.
Stunted, yet too grown for his own good—simultaneously. He will seek attention, showering you with gifts and compliments in hopes that you reciprocate. Holidays would read like a HallMark movie that would move suburban mothers to tears.
Dick is also the man to send romantic quotes stolen from Pinterest, and the occasional confusing poem of his own hand. His nerves would grind as he read the ‘’seen’’ stamp beneath his text, worried out of his mind that it didn't properly convey his emotions, his love.
“What, no reply yet? If you're that moved, you could always come kiss me.” He'd send the message, playing it off as a joke. But his stomach groaned with the familiar ache, that cold and empty feeling of uncertainty.
What if she doesn't like it? Will she still like me? Would I seem lame if I double texted? Am I bugging her?
The flames of self doubt would spread and eat at his mind until his phone pinged with a,” it's beautiful, babe. A hard read, but the intention was there.” And a flirtatious emoji paired with it.
Thus, the flames of doubt were stomped out, like they never existed. They liked the poem, and he would spend hours rereading it. Marveling and gushing because you liked it. Something he made.
Jason Todd's love language is acts of service. It's a loyalty thing for him.
Gift sharing could be manipulation; soft words could be lies, and he's too self-loathing to believe them anyway. Red Hood swallows his spare time, and his desire for touch swung on a pendulum—one side thirsting for it, the other side uncomfortable.
The thought of returning home to a nice and warm meal would make him melt into a puddle. Or finding his hero suit washed, and his gear cleaned and stored away.
It reignites a flame in his cold eyes, the domesticity calling forth an unclassified emotion that sent goosebumps blazing over his skin like wildfire, calling his arm hairs to attention.
Jason would return the favor. You would awake to find breakfast made, the aroma of bacon and eggs thick in the air, the sweetness of syrup carrying around the house. Scalding tea trickling into a pot, milk and sugar already on the table. Plates washed and set.
Jason would also do laundry and iron clothes. He gets those random bursts of energy (or adrenaline) and cleans the entire house spotless.
Baths would be drawn for you, and if he's feeling lavish, he'll add roses to the bubbles. The finest soaps would lather your skin, scented with the the best smelling perfumes—business was good, and it was a present. His calloused fingers would be overjoyed to massage your scalp (he hoped you'd do his next).
Tim Drake’s love language is quality time. Also, I would like to preface this section by admitting I haven't read much of Tim.
He would help you study. Textbooks adorning the wooden table after hours of quizzing. Coffee steaming in a mug, pens and highlighters scratching at paper. Kisses shared with each right answer.
He'd tease,” Oh, that was a hard one. A trick question.” A smirk, sweet as frosting would tug on his lips, then a warm kiss would swallow yours.” If I were as filthy minded as Jason, maybe I'd crack a joke.”
Tim’s gaze would find you, in the middle of whatever—washing dishes, doing laundry, exercising. They'd burst with amorous passion, like exploding stars, shimmering and twinkling in his irises.
When the sun kisses Gotham goodnight, and the moon assumes it duty, he'd find himself wishing he could be beside you. Not Batman, not Dick, certainly not Damian. That's not proof that he hates his colleagues or that his work is last on the list of priorities. It's just. . . you're higher.
“Hey, love,” he'd speak into the phone, after the voicemail prompted him.” I know you're likely sleep tonight. But I wanted to at least call and tell you to sleep safe and warm. And to save space for me.” A chuckle would roll of his tongue, the wailing of police sirens in the background.
Damian Wayne's love language is also quality time.
Time is precious to him. His mother’s presence was unreliable. He, his father, his siblings tango with dead every silvery night. Each misfortune in his family reminded him of that.
Robin is not what Dick thinks. It's not just bursting into hideouts and knocking the crap out of villains. The peril is real, as well as the potential for failure—and failure in their line of work means death.
Oracle was paralyzed in a second, one wrong move and her nerves were shot. Jason’s life was quite literally put on a clock, killed by time itself. When Damian was an assassin, it merely took seconds to end a life, one of emotion and desires and opinions—gone at the stroke of a blade.
Time matters.
Damian would try to spend all of it with you, doing anything. Attending museums, painting you, listening to your playlists. Finding the child he was depraved of for so long. Being an angsty teenager and loving it.
“This is considered fun?” A dark eyebrow of his would raise teasingly. There you sat, at a sport's game, the roaring crowd trembling the stadium and stabbing his ears. The golden beam of the sun roasting both you, and the overpriced popcorn tossing and gurgling in his stomach.
But, deep down, the liveliness of the crowd intrigued him. Even he'd find himself screaming along with the masses on their feet, yelling out praise or curse words.
Damian's jade irises would slide over to you, the sheer glee decorating your features. A painting. He'd see a masterpiece in you; how that expression would translate onto a canvas.

Care less
for the frat!peter girlies.
Peter blames his aunt.
May went and raised him to look forward to the middle of february. She would make little boxes and handwritten notes tied up with a fun-sized candy bar. May told him it was a day to celebrate love in its entirety. For a friend, for a teacher, for just the sake of love existing everywhere you went.
Except, not everyone likes valentine's day. Some even hate it. Some would loathe the day so much that Peter feels like an idiot for caring. Dinner reservations that were going to be ignored, flowers that would go wilted and chocolates that were never going to get eaten.
Peter has a handful of nothing and the one time he really wanted to outperform himself, it was brushed off and it was his aunt’s fault for getting his hopes up about valentine’s day. He had been so thoughtful too, planning weeks ahead to book a dinner slot and a fun date. Not to mention the mini fortune he spent on roses, not that you were a giant fan of roses but every girl deserves a bouquet on valentine’s, even if they triple in price. Peter even bought a second bunch of your favorite kind, just to prove he cared.
It meant nothing. His efforts meant nothing and maybe he shouldn’t have assumed, but he never thought that you’d hate the holiday. It was a day entirely built around feelings, around love- and you just rolled your eyes at him.
“I fucking hate valentine’s day.” You said it like it was nothing, taking two bites of a banana and handing it over to Peter. He asked if you were excited, maybe even hinting at that you should be excited. Peter Parker was about to romance the hell out of you. But not anymore.
“Explain that one for me?” A toss, the peel falls into the trash can. You shrug as if you’ve never thought about it before, but it’s something you’ve held in your chest for as long as you can remember.
“It was a holiday created by girls who didn’t feel loved enough by their boyfriends, or something. I think the practice is stupid, you should treat me good and do nice things for me everyday, not just once a year. And everything is crowded! Everyone has the same lame idea about dinner and a movie and flowers and… it’s just not something I buy into.”
Peter feels every bit of him curl up and die inside. Valentines is his third favorite holiday, he adores the pinks, reds, and purples. He loves seeing couples of every stage, the beginning stages or lifelong partners. They all love the same; with everything in them.
“Well, actually, I do have a confession. Chocolate covered strawberries. They’re outrageously expensive, but I buy them every year. If you’re wondering, I was hoping we could boycott the baby holiday and eat some strawberries or something.”
A small lift in his heart, it’s something. You’d be happy with one thing and he could deliver that, but first he has to try and sway you, right? Peter needs to preach what valentine’s is about, he needs you to understand how lovely it is.
“I’m surprised you hate it so much. I figured you’d love it, since it’s pink and feelings, and stuff.” You wink at him, you think it’s a joke and Peter’s in the same boat as you. “I know, right? It always seemed so gimmicky to me, I think.”
“That doesn’t mean it’s bad.” You pretend gag, Peter feels his heart sink into the hollow of his chest. “You’re right, it’s cringy and that makes it so much worse.” Peter doesn’t agree, not even in the slightest. Nothing about it is cringy, there’s nothing embarrassing about showing you love someone.
“Right. It’s cringy and a gimmick and everyone who participates is stupid.” Maybe he’s a little cynical, it hits harder when you nod with exaggeration. “So glad you agree, petey!” He doesn’t. Peter couldn’t be further away from your opinion but he’s really not in the mood to be shut down or judged, so, he just changes the subject and tries to ignore everything crumbling apart in the back of his mind.
Tumblr media
“Isn’t this cute?”
You squint your eyes when you read the card, a tiny smile shows. “It’s cute. Not worth…” You snatch the glorified cardstock and flip it, your eyes widen, you pretend to choke on the dollar amount. “Ten dollars, holy shit. For some glitter? Fuck that.”
You want it out of your hold, scared that if even a speckle spread you’d be forced to buy it. “What happened to the good old days of making your own card? My mom used to eat that up.”
Peter delicately sets the card down, he tries to see it how you do, but he can’t. Sure, it’s wildly marked up, but wouldn’t your partner be worth the price? Peter would buy the moon for you if he could, a ten dollar Hallmark card won’t be his holdup.
But, maybe you’d like a handmade one more. He can do that.
Tumblr media
Peter’s trying to be mindful of your opinion while also planting the seed that valentine’s isn’t all that bad into your brain. It’s days away and all he can hear in the back of his mind is ‘I fucking hate valentine’s day.’
“Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! Peter- do you fucking see this?”
A romantic gesture? A public display of love and admiration? Dozens of carefully inflated heart shaped balloons? A girl crying into the arms of her friend while her partner showers her with flowers. Is it the love? Is that what you’re pointing out?
“Yeah, it’s-”
“Disgusting.”
“-cute.” Peter frowns, is that what you really thought of valentines? Nothing was swaying your mind, Peter thinks that you’re more solidified in your mindset than before.
“I’m sorry, trouble, but I’m finding it hard believing you hate valentine’s day.” It’s like he just called you a slur, you pull your hand from his and stuff it into your jacket pocket.
“I don’t hate it, I loathe it. What do you see watching that? Personally, I’m seeing gravel covered flowers and wasted space that turns into deflated balloons. Fuck that.” Peter shakes his head, you’re seeing it wrong. “It’s about the gesture.”
“It’s about how you love someone so much, there aren't enough things in the world to buy to show it, and there are never the right set of words to say it quite right. I’ll buy all the flowers in the world for you, and I’ll use all the air in my lungs for these balloons but it’ll never match the love I have for you.”
Peter clears his throat. “That's what I see, anyways. I think valentine’s day is an excuse to be a little cringy and basic because we all want that sometimes.” He might’ve finally broken through, but you crack a grin and bump your shoulder into his.
“Ah, yes, because I’m so unfulfilled that a man has never gotten me a teddy bear for valentine’s day.” Would you want one? He could get you one. Or could that be a reason you might detest the holiday, not that he’d ever take your opinion for resentment or bitterness.
“Have you ever had a valentine?” A small stumble, your hand is tied into his again. “Besides elementary, nah. And honestly, I should be happy so I don’t have to deal with all that stuff.”
‘I should be happy so I don’t have to deal with all that stuff.’ But, now you do, don’t you?
“Trouble, you do realize you’re my valentine this year, right? And I’m yours?” You feel your breath catch, no, you hadn’t realized. It’s always just been another day for you and you assume the same for Peter, it’s not like there was much to celebrate.
“It’s also just a day that ends in Y.” Is that really the answer you have? It’s just another day to you, even if you finally have someone to claim? You might not care about the holiday, but Peter does and he’s going to get his valentine’s day, no matter what.
And you’re going to enjoy a handmade card.
And a teddy bear.
Tumblr media
Peter’s finger-combing his hair after a shower, he’s had the reservation for weeks, but he also wasn’t aware of your detestment towards red hearts and arrows.
“Wanna grab some dinner wednesday?” If he didn’t say it by name he’s hoping you won’t scream bloody mary on him. “Sure.” A smile washes over Peter’s face, it drops in a second. “Wait, isn’t that valentine’s day? Ha, yeah, no thank you. You, me, and the entire city? Fuck that.”
‘Fuck that, fuck that, fuck that.’ Weeks boiled into nothing. “But, if you wanna cuddle and watch a movie I’m down.” It’s something. He’d get to give you flowers and a card and a teddy bear and he can’t forget the strawberries. You told him you loved them.
“Good with me, trouble.”
Peter tried to sway your mind, he tried to make you enjoy the love and glitter and colors. But you hated it all. So all he has to do is ditch the flowers and the dinner and just… do nothing.
Peter’s first real valentine and all he has to do is… nothing.
Tumblr media
Three rose bouquets tossed onto his closet floor, it was haphazardly done. Petals scattered around the cellophane, some even reached to his shoes. They were thrown in without care, they were hidden.
But they were beautiful. A few front buds have taken a beating, but the others were fully blossomed and lively. You’ve never seen roses in such a vivid red, their petals almost like velvet under your fingertips, their smell unlike any other.
The thorns have been expertly shredded, nothing but smooth, soft stems in their wake. It doesn’t matter if Peter didn’t mean to have you see them, they were too gorgeous to leave locked away in a dark room. They deserved the affection water and sunlight would give them.
You clutched all three in your arms, the weight welcomed. You laid them out nicely across his bed, the third bouquet dropped a small card and you picked it right back up.
‘Trouble-
This day was made for you.
Charlie’s at 8.
Yours,
Peter’
You bit back a smile. Charlie’s? It’s nice, too nice. And expensive. Peter got you reservations at Charlie’s? Holding the card to your chest you nearly squeal, you have no idea how he kept the secret from you. Or the roses.
When you hear his bedroom door open you spin, waiting for him to be in the doorway so you can place a thousand kisses. Instead it’s Ethan and he looks surprised. “You’re here?” He points to the flowers, “Peter gave you those?”
“I found them in his closet, he just tossed them in here! And he must’ve forgotten to tell me about Charlie’s.” Ethan doesn’t smile with you, he’s not sharing any joy. For a second you start to wonder if you were the person who was supposed to receive the gifts.
“He didn’t forget.” You scrunch your face at him, “I think he did and I need to start getting ready now. Ethan, do you know how nice Charlie’s is? It’s fucking fancy.” You’re not prepared, you don’t have anything that screams Charlie’s worthy in Peter’s closet.
“No, you’re not hearing me. There is no Charlie’s and there weren't supposed to be roses. I was supposed to get them before you got here, but, here we are. No roses and no Charlie’s.” You smack at his arms, pulling at his fingers to drop your flowers.
“They’re mine!” Ethan’s on a mission to steal them, and he’s not being gentle.
“No, you didn’t want them.”
You watch him for a second, how could he say that, of course you want them. Thirty six reminders of Peter, how could you ever say no? You fight for what's yours, Ethan allows you to keep one bouquet.
“I do want them!”
Ethan’s not being nice to you tonight, he’s gruff with his response. “No. You didn’t.’
“You keep saying didn’t! I never said I didn’t want…”
Except you did. Just like you said you didn’t want to get dinner with Peter. You feel terrible, you feel like crying. He’d had this planned for weeks and the whole time all you did was poke fun and degrade the holiday not knowing you were crushing him behind the scenes.
You wanted the flowers, but you didn’t deserve them. You hand over the last bouquet silently.
“I think it’s best if you pretend you didn’t see these.” You can’t imagine the ache Peter must have in his chest, he planned something out just for you to stomp all over it. It’s not about the value, it was the gesture. He can’t tell you how he feels, but taking you out to one of the nicest places in the city, where you know it has a month minimum reservation list makes you understand him just a little bit better.
“This is so bad, Ethan. This is so,” you suck in air, “so bad.”
“It’s not terrible,” a crinkle when he shifts weight. “But it’s not great.” You wince, if you could, you’d go back in time and shove your foot in your mouth, or tell yourself to shut the fuck up.
“Well, I mean, what the fuck?! It’s fucking Peter! How was I supposed to know he was pro valentines day?”
“How was he supposed to know you were anti valentines day?”
You sink to the bed and hold your head in your hands, “I just want Peter right now.” You want to hug him and kiss him and tell him how sorry you were. Ethan hesitates for a second, before stepping closer to lay the flowers across your lap.
“You found them. They’re yours.” You protect them from being taken, but still have self-pity. “I don’t deserve them.” Ethan scoffs, “of course you do. Everyone deserves pretty flowers.”
Tumblr media
You pout at yourself in the mirror and fix any smudges. Brushing out any stray wrinkles your newest dress might’ve made on the way over. Ethan had very kindly instructed a pledge to pick you up an outfit so you could change before Peter got back.
With minutes to spare, he’s back and taking a deep breath at your appearance. “Wow.” A surprised hum when you kiss him, you wipe red from his bottom lip while you apologize. “I’m so sorry, petey.”
“For what?” A look around the room, red roses give him the reason. “Oh. Hey, it’s no big deal and I-” A frown when you silence him by holding a finger to his lips.
“I’m sorry. I found those flowers and all I could think about was you and how much it meant to me that you got those for me, then I saw the card and I couldn’t believe you got us reservations and I just felt… special. I’ve never had a valentine, but I get it now. It’s just a day you get to dote on me extra hard.”
Another surprise kiss, “and if you didn’t already cancel I think we can get to Charlie’s on time. But if you did, that’s okay. Because I think those are the most lovely flowers I have ever gotten, and I might have seen a little teddy bear in there but I didn’t wanna get too presumptuous.”
This time, Peter kissed you. “There’s also a homemade card.”
“You didn’t!” You fall in closer to his chest, his hands can have free reign tonight, you wore the dress just for him.
“I did. I even wrote a little poem.”
A chaste kiss, “just when I think you can’t get better.”
“There’s also glow in the dark mini golf planned for after.” A peck, “so thoughtful and handsome.”
A whisper, he’s got blown pupils and hoping he’d get another kiss. “And your strawberries are in the fridge.”
Your hearts about to explode, “fuck, I love-” you stop yourself, but you heard it and so did Peter. He brushes it off, “love?” Fuck it, you’ll both keep circling around it.
“Yeah, I love love.”
A hungry kiss, a squeeze to the back of your thighs. “Yeah, I love love, too.”

Katsuki spends Halloween with you.
1,200 words~
Tumblr media
You sniffled in your room waiting for your humidifier to finally help.
Of all days to come down with the cold, why did it have to be your favorite holiday, Halloween?
You looked at your forgotten costume in the corner of your dorm and sighed.
“Knock knock,” you heard followed by loud banging on your door.
Reluctantly you opened your door and we’re met with the sight of Denki, Eijiro, Hanta, and Katsuki.
“Um, why aren’t you in your costume yet? We’re totally going to be late for the party,” Denki asked.
“Isn’t it obvious Dunce Face, look at them! They are sick as hell!” Katsuki yelled as some of the boys shuffled into your dorm.
“No way are you really not feeling well? That’s such a bummer man,” Eijiro said, looking at you with puppy eyes.
“Yeah, it’s fine you guys go have fun,” you waved your hand for them to get out. “I don’t want to get you all sick.”
“That superrrr sucks. But, we need your expert opinion first. Tell me are the ladies ready for this costume,” Denki asked motioning to his devil costume.
You couldn’t help but laugh, Denki was relentless with his endless pinning. You yanked on his devil tail letting it snap back and hit him.
“Ow!” He yelled in surprise.
“You look great, Kaminari. I think the lady is going to love it,” you said, giving him a wink causing him to blush.
“And what about my cape? Does it look dumb?” Eijiro asked, looking a little self-conscious.
“A vampire, hu? Pretty smart with those teeth of yours. Yeah, it looks cute, Kirishima. Sero, your pirate looks great too. But, how did you boys manage to get Bakugo in a costume this year?”
“What?! I did this on my own!” Katsuki barked at you.
“Really? You chose a werewolf all by yourself, hu?” You asked.
“Tch, what’s the matter with it?! Better than these extras lame ass costumes,” he said defensively.
“It looks good Bakugo. Alright go, all of you get out of here before you catch my cold,” you said, encouraging them to leave.
“Ok, I’m sorry... feel better soon, ok?” Eijiro said as he, Hanta, and Denki started to make their way out.
“Kacchan come on we’re already super late,” Denki called.
“Nah- you idiots go,” Katsuki said.
“What no way, you’re seriously not going to come even after you picked out your whole costume?” Hanta asked.
“Parties are fucking dumb, get out of here already,” Katsuki yelled.
“Alright man, we’ll see you later then,” Eijiro said, pulling the other two boys who were still trying to convince Bakugo to come.
Once the other three were gone you turned to Katsuki, “You didn’t have to do that.”
“Tch I didn’t do it for you dumb ass! I was looking for any excuse not to go to that dumb party,” Katsuki said, crossing his arms.
“Mhm sure,” you said, rolling your eyes playfully at him.
“Whatever- your voice sounds like crap. Let’s go down to the common room and I’ll make you some tea and we can watch a dumb movie or something,” he suggested.
“You really want to watch a Halloween movie?!” You asked surprised by his holiday spirit.
“Uh yeah- isn’t that what you’re supposed to do on Halloween? Come on, let’s go. Tired of seeing you moping in your room,” he said, waving at you to follow him downstairs.
You followed Katsuki downstairs to the common room and started looking for movies while he made some tea for you.
“Do you want to watch an actual scary movie or a cheesy cute one like The Addams Family or something?” You asked.
Katsuki set the tea down next to you and sat on the couch. “I don’t give a fuck, they are all dumb.”
“Fine- I’m showing you my favorite then,” you decided, turning the movie on and sitting down next to him. Katsuki just grunted in response.
You settled in more into the couch drinking the tea he made, “The tea is good thank you,” you said.
“No need to thank me dumb ass, if you need more just let me know,” he said, eyes staying locked on the TV. You watched him for a few moments trying to make sense of his actions that never seemed to match his words.
You decided to take a risk and leaned a bit into Katsuki’s shoulder. To your surprise, he didn’t move or react at all. Instead, he looked down at you, “Why is this one your favorite Halloween movie?” He asked.
Katuski was a surprisingly good listener, and despite his disdain at first, he declared he didn’t completely hate every second of the movie you chose.
“Alright, what’s the next one?” He asked.
“You want to watch another?! Isn’t it kind of late for you?” You asked surprised.
“I don’t sleep that damn early! You all just stay up too late! Besides, those idiots aren’t back yet so- just put on another one,” he said.
You chose another movie and nuzzled back into the couch leaning more into Katsuki who again made no reaction.
Before you knew it, time had passed, and the occasional comments Katsuki made about the movie slowly stopped as you both felt sleepiness wash over you.
The next thing you knew you heard whispers from behind you.
“Should we wake them up?” Hanta whispered.
“Awe they look so comfy,” Eijiro said.
“What! How did Kacchan get more action than any of us?!” Denki said, irritated.
“Come on, let’s leave them,” Eijiro said, pulling his two friends away.
You opened your eyes slowly as you heard the boys finally leave back to their dorms. Immediately a blush took over your face as you realized you had fallen asleep in Katsuki’s lap. Katsuki was fast asleep with his head leaning against the couch.
You gently shook him a bit to bring him out of sleep.
Katsuki inhaled sharply and picked his head up, blinking hard he slowly came back to consciousness.
“Hey, um the others came through already. We must have fallen asleep.”
“Damn,” he said, stretching. “Must have been that boring ass movie.”
“Hey, it wasn’t that bad!” You said smacking his shoulder playfully.
“Yeah yeah whatever, I want to get out of this damn costume,” he said getting up off the couch. “Come on I’ll walk you to your dorm, I don’t want your sick ass passing out on the way up the elevator or anything.”
“I’m not that helpless,” you argued but followed Katsuki back to your dorm.
“Alright get some sleep idiot or you’re never going to get better,” he said, opening your door for you.
“Thank you,” you said awkwardly, passing him to step into your room.
“Yeah whatever- it wasn’t as awful as that party would have been I guess,” he said.
“Those ears are really cute on you by the way,” you said playfully patting his hair around his costume wolf ears.
“Tch,” he exclaimed, irritated looking at the floor but you caught the small tint that grew on his cheeks.
“Goodnight, Bakugo,” you said and moved closer to press a kiss to his cheek.
Katsuki backed up, surprised, “Trying to get me sick dumb ass,” he said, rubbing his cheek.
“Oh fuck- sorry,” you apologized.
“Don’t- it’s fine, but, you should try a little harder,” he said, grabbing your wrist and pulling you to him as he pressed his lips to yours. “Goodnight.” He said and swiftly left down the hallway.

yule (kai parker x reader) {ficmas 2023}
Tumblr media
꒰ ࿁ ˙ ˖ ໑ happy day 6 of ficmas!
authors note: this is short bc i'm lame, but i really love kai and thought it would be fun to highlight one of the holidays i celebrate during the winter season.
Tumblr media
“I don’t care much about the holiday season,” Kai said, lounging on your couch and eating chips. You lifted your head from his shoulder and looked at him with raised eyebrows.
“How could you not care? The holidays are awesome,” you gasped. Kai just shrugged, returning his attention to the TV. You were currently watching Die Hard, your favorite Christmas movie.
“The holidays were never special to me,” he mumbled. “Just another day, I was reminded that my Dad didn’t care.” You looked at him with a sad expression, and you could see him get slightly uncomfortable with your show of emotion. “Babe, you’re doing the puppy eyes again.”
“We have to do something for the season,” you pouted.
“We could have sex?”
“Kai!” you scolded, hitting him with your hand. He winked at you.
“What? I think it’s special,” he munched on another chip, looking offended as you grabbed the bag out of his hands.
“Kai Parker, I will give you one good holiday if it’s the last thing I do,” you exclaimed, crossing your arms defiantly. Kai rolled his eyes at your you-can’t-change-my-mind face, which usually meant he had to do whatever you wanted. Early on, before you were dating, it used to drive him up the wall. You were incredibly obstinate. But now, he found it slightly endearing, albeit annoying.
“So what? We’ll get a tree, wrap presents, sing carols?” Kai chuckled.
“No,” you hummed, twiddling your fingers. “I don’t celebrate Christmas.”
“You don’t?” Kai asked, gesturing to the TV and the green and red lights you had strung up around your apartment.
“I celebrate Yule.”
“Oh, so super traditional,” Kai nodded. You were both witches, but while Kai grew up in a family devoid of love and happiness, you grew up in a traditional coven. The whole community raised you, as was tradition. It meant that when Christmas came around, while you enjoyed the cookie-cutter capitalistic nature of it all, you still celebrated Yuletide at your roots. “I’ve never celebrated Yule.”
“Then I’m going to show you how it's done.”
Yuletide started on December 21st, and you made Kai go to the market to get a Yule log to burn. You had to shoo him out after he began to crack many innuendos about his wood. Kai didn’t entirely understand the purpose of burning the log.
“To ask for the light to come back as we sit on the coldest night of the year,” you explained, sitting in front of your fireplace. Kai sat next to you, sipping on mulled wine.
“I don’t need the light to return; I already have you,” He winked. You gave him a pointed look, even with the blush coating your cheeks.
“Where’d you hear that one?”
“Sounds like something a more romantic man would say,” Kai sighed.
You kissed him before the fireplace before beckoning him to wear his winter coat and follow you. You took him out to the forest behind your house, covered in a fresh coat of snow. The tiny white crystals coated the ground and the evergreens. Even the birds were quiet. You loved watching Kai try to catch snow on his tongue, ever the child. He peppered you with questions about where you were going as you walked further into the woods. Eventually, you came upon a clearing where many of your covens stood around with lanterns. A bonfire was in the center, and witches exchanged gifts and ate hot food by the firelight. Kai looked around with a sense of awe and confusion.
“Its…”
“Beautiful?”
“Peaceful,” Kai settled on. He looked around with slight discomfort. As Kai struggled to identify and process his emotions, you got better at figuring out the things he was feeling. In this case, you had seen this look on his face before and knew what he was feeling.
“You are allowed to feel peace,” you put a hand on Kai’s arm, capturing his attention. “Love isn’t conditional, and I’m sorry you were taught it was.”
Kai had a single tear cross his face, and you put up a hand to wipe it away. He nuzzled into your palm, kissing it and giving you a look of adoration.
“I…thank you,” Kai said, speechless. Kai still struggled to say I love you, and you didn’t hold it to him. You knew by the fact that you managed to shut him up that he was overwhelmed.
“C’mon,” you took his hand, leading him deeper into the clearing. You waved hello to several of your fellow covenmates and laughed as Kai kept sneaking food from the buffet tables around the clearing. After eating, you told Kai that you wanted to show him something. He followed you into the forest, a flickering candle in your hand. You brought him to a section of the forest where the coven liked to grow specific herbs and plants. It was under one tree that you stopped Kai. “Take a guess where we are.”
“The forest,” Kai deadpanned. You pulled off some of the berries from the tree. It took Kai a second to recognize them. “Is that…?”
“Mistletoe?” You answered, putting your candle down in the snow and smiling coyly. “I think someone owes me a kiss.”
Kai smirked, leaning in and kissing you passionately. His lips were cold from the temperature, but you didn’t care as you felt yourself melting into him. If there’s one thing Kai excelled at, it was kissing the living daylights out of you. When you parted, you smiled as you noticed the tree had grown even brighter around you. You didn’t even see when Kai siphoned you, inadvertently affecting the wildlife.
“Thank you for making the holidays worth it,” Kai whispered, kissing you again.
To him, you had made it all worth it.

Hi! So I saw that requests are open and I'm absolutely in live with your writing, and I was wondering if I could convince you to write something for Sirius where instead of a motorbike he got a mustang or something and fixed it up for muggle studies and fem!reader is friends with the marauders and they sneak away from a party together on the summer holidays or something to take a drive and end up confessing and maybe having a couple kisses before going back and kinda sticking to each other for the rest of the night??? Completely inspired by Katy Perry's the one that got away haha.. Thank you <3
(And if it isn't what you wanna write then thank you still for all your already amazing works that have me giggling like an idiot<333)
stop🥹you are far too sweet!!! thank you for requesting!🖤
.
“Are you sure this is safe?”
“One hundred percent, love.”
“Really?”
“Would I ever put you in danger?”
You sighed, eyes darting around the interior with wary but curious eyes.
Sirius hadn’t shut up about his latest muggle purchase for the better part of the last week.
He had practically bounced into the common room last Saturday night, a grin split across his face and a glint in his eyes that could only mean trouble when it came to Sirius Black. It was a sight that made your heart twist, in both anticipation and nostalgia.
Exams had come to a close and you were enjoying your last few weeks at Hogwarts before you graduated and left. You wanted to make memories. You wanted to cherish your time left with your group before adult life took over.
You were going to miss the crazy adventures Sirius Black would drag you out on.
This one came in the form of a car.
You were vaguely aware of the contraption, having studied it in Muggle Studies a few years prior. Despite the questions you asked Lily, you never really grasped onto the mechanics behind it, nor did you care all that much. But Sirius seemed to.
For his final project, he had seemed to wager some deal with his professor. He would fix up the broken Mustang showing his skills and knowledge of muggle inventions, rather than writing a tedious essay on the contraption and his professor seemed to agree.
But now, with exams over and school coming to an end, Sirius was left with a perfectly working Mustang and a desire to show off his creation, his baby he had nursed from the brink of death (aka the junkyard Lily told him the car would end up in).
“It’s like…a contained broom,” Sirius said in a lame attempt to explain the car, to reassure you that you would be fine. “Perfectly safe. Promise.”
“Because I’m so good on a broom too,” you commented with a snort, your chest tightening when you noticed the grin on his face.
The group had snuck off the grounds to take the car out for a spin, heading to a local outdoor cinema that Sirius seemed to be aware of. The others had headed off to the confectionery stands to grab some snacks and drinks before the movie began, whilst you stayed seated in the backseat of the Mustang with Sirius, listening to the muggle music sounding through the radio.
“Hey, everyone gets stuck in a tree every once in a while, don’t worry about it,” Sirius said as he nudged your shoulder. You rolled your eyes, but even you couldn’t help but laugh.
“At least I had someone stupid enough to fly straight into the tree as well to save me,” you teased, giving him a knowing look.
“Always gonna be your hero, love,” he said, his voice a little softer as he spoke to you.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” he murmured, his eyes darting down a little before he turned to look out the windshield with a sigh. “So, what do you think about the car—”
It was an impulsive decision. You weren’t exactly sure what fuelled it. Or maybe you did know, you just didn’t have the heart to admit it to yourself that over the last few years, Sirius Black made butterflies erupt in your stomach with even the simplest of actions because you liked him. You liked him far more than you should like a friend.
So, you kissed him.
Sirius froze the second your lips touched his. His brain stopped working and there wasn’t a single coherent thought rattling in his head. He barely had a chance to process what had just happened before you were pulling away, eyes wide and cheeks flushed as realisation of what you had just done washed over you.
“Sirius–”
But before the apology could even leave your lips, he was grabbing your face and kissing you again, deeper and more passionate this time.
Your lips parted for him without any argument, his tongue teasing yours as he tugged you closer to him. In seconds you were off your seat and straddling his lap, your nails raking down his chest as you moaned against his lips. It was fast-paced and hot and you don’t think your brain even realised what you were doing and who you were doing it with.
It was a sharp knock against the window that shattered the moment, both of your heads snapping to the side to see a very smug-looking James grinning at you both, arm full of snacks he had purchased.
“Breaking in the new car?” he teased and Sirius playfully flipped him off before turning back to you, grinning himself a little when he saw the blush spreading across your cheeks.
“Nah, we’re gonna do that later, aren’t we, love?” Sirius murmured, the suggestion rolling off his tongue like pure sin.
“Huh?” you murmured, still a little dazed.
His eyes darkened as he bit his lip, trying to hold back his groan. “Gonna show you how much you can do in this car, baby. Just gotta let the others leave first.”
Whatever it was, you were sure things between you and Sirius were going much further than friends this summer.

Tumblr media
summary: you're tired of your relatives asking you if you're still single every Christmas. on the spur of the moment, you lie that your have boyfriend. luckily, your best friend sweeps in like your knight in shining armor to save the day pairing: jin x reader genre: romcom with a lil angst, best friends to fake dating to lovers warnings: nosy annoying relatives, lying, fake dating trope, one bed mentioned, some crying, insecurities, confessions, kissing, it is quite mild tbh author's note: the title is super lame but hey, Jin likes dad jokes so here we go 🤷 also i intended to post this for his bday but didn't have enough time to finish it word count: 2.4k
Christmas is the loneliest time of the year for you. Even though you spend it with your relatives, they always make a point of asking whether you are still single. Spoiler alert: you are. It's gotten annoying that they don't appreciate you for your academic and personal achievements and they are only interested in your relationship status. You are so tired of the recurring question which is why you dread Christmas so much. A few weeks before it, you get a call from your parents.
"You're coming home for the holidays, right?"
"Of course, mom," you respond, rolling your eyes.
"So…have you found a special someone?"
There it is. Again. Ugh.
"If I hear this one more time…" you sigh.
"Got it," your mom chuckles condescendingly, which frustrates you to no end.
You don't know what spirit possesses you to do what you do next but the words are out of your mouth before you can think twice about it.
"I actually have a boyfriend but maybe if you weren't nagging me about it every Christmas, I would have told you earlier."
"You do?" your mom exclaims, surprise evident in her voice."Well, isn't that wonderful! You should bring him, introduce him into the family."
"He's really busy, mom, I don't think he'll make it," you keep lying, trying to get out of the situation you'd brought upon yourself.
"Nonsense, no one works on Christmas. I expect to see the happy couple soon. And no excuses!"
Before you could argue, your mom hangs up. Great. Now you have two weeks to magically find a boyfriend to bring home for the holidays.
Tumblr media
You are sitting on your best friend's couch, playing games with him.
"Damn, you're so good at this!" you shout in fake annoyance at being defeated but you are actually happy for him. You know how much Jin loves winning.
"What can I say? I was born this way," he smirks confidently and puts the console on the table.
"Humble, as always," you tease him, nudging his shoulder.
"So, do you have any plans for Christmas?"
"Ugh, don't remind me."
"Why? I thought you loved Christmas movies and decorations and all things Christmas-related," Jin tells you and you are beyond touched to have someone who knows you that well and remembers such details.
"I do, but…I got myself in a bit of a predicament."
"Do share," he turns to the side so that he can face you.
"Well, you know how my relatives always ask whether I'm still single? And they're especially persistent around the holidays."
"I know," he laughs. "You've only complained about it like a hundred times."
"Sorry," you grimace at your own predisposition to torment your best friend everytime something goes wrong in your life. "So, um…this year I told my mom I have a boyfriend."
"And I learn about this now?" Jin puts a hand on his heart, expressing disappointment that you'd kept such a big secret from him.
"What? No, I don't have a boyfriend. I lied to my mom and now she expects me to bring a guy to meet the family."
"Oh, shit," he now understands why you're not looking forward to Christmas.
"Yep. I'm such a mess. Everyone will be so mad at me when I come home alone. Again. Kill me now."
"Well…you don't have to be alone."
"Huh?"
"Hear me out. What if I pretend to be your boyfriend? Just for the holidays. Then, your relatives would get off your back."
"Jin…I can't ask this of you."
"Good thing you're not asking. I came up with this brilliant idea myself. If it bothers you, you can tell them we broke up some time next year. Don't you want one Christmas of your relatives not repeating the same old annoying question?"
"I do want it, more than anything. But I would hate to inconvenience you…"
"Come on, it will be fun! My parents are spending this Christmas in Australia, drinking cocktails and soaking in the sun. It's not like I have anything special planned. It would be delightful to spend it with my best friend," Jin keeps talking and you are almost convinced.
"What about your best friend's super messy family?" you try to change his mind.
"Oh, I'm sure I'll charm the pants off them."
You are not worried about how your relatives will immediatelly fall in love with Jin. You are concerned that it will be you being charmed…
Tumblr media
You are revising every small detail while Jin is driving his car to your grandparents' place.
"When did we start dating?" you ask him.
"Three months ago. We naturally realized that we are great friends and would make an even greater couple," he responds without hesitation. "How did I ask you out?"
"You told me I am the best thing that happened to you and I would make you the happiest man in the world if I went on a date with you," you reply naturally. "What was our first date like?"
"We went to watch a movie together, after that we had dinner at a lovely restaurant and I walked you to your apartment where I kissed you in front of the doorstep."
"The roses! You forgot to mention the roses!" you cry out, almost panicking. This has to be perfect or your snoopy relatives might suspect something.
"I was supposed to bring roses to your grandparents? I thought the wine would be enough," Jin mumbles in confusion.
"No, for the first date details! We agreed that you'd mention the roses. What if…what if they ask and we mess something up and…"
"Darling, relax. We've got this. We've been best friends for seven years. We know each other well enough to handle anything."
You try to ignore the way your heart flutters when he calls you darling. Damnit. When he'd suggested pretending, you hadn't thought about the fact that it wouldn't be pretending on your part.
"Do you trust me?" Jin asks.
"Unequivocally," you assure him. It is yourself you don't trust.
Once he parks the car, you are immediately greeted by a bunch of your relatives.
"Come, come! It is lovely to meet you," your mom welcomes Jin.
"Mom, this is my best friend," you say by force of habit and then correct yourself, "and now my boyfriend, Jin."
"Nice to meet you, ma'am," Jin shakes her hand politely.
"Pfft, call me by my name," your mom says and introduces herself.
Quickly enough, your poor bestie is hounded by your grandparents, your aunt, your cousin and her kids. It's a lot of excitement considering you'd just arrived and you are already looking forward to going to bed. You love your relatives but sometimes they can be…a lot.
Jin, however, seems to be thriving. He talks to your mom about cooking, to your grandparents about fishing and politics, to your aunt and cousin about acting and singing. Even the kids seem to love him, as he takes the time to play hide and seek with them. He also promises to build a snowman with them when it is warmer tomorrow. You have no reason to worry and yet, seeing him naturally fit in with them on their first meeting…when you have felt like an outsider your whole life, is enough to bring tears to your eyes. You excuse yourself from the table, saying you need to use the bathroom.
Not expecting anyone to notice your absence, you cry quietly in your room, feeling as if you have never been good enough and your relatives were always disappointed in you. You hear a soft knock on the door, which takes you by surprise.
"You alright, love?" Jin asks.
You let him in and he wraps you up in one of his warm hugs that have the magical ability to make you stop crying.
"What's wrong? I thought it was going well," he whispers, not wanting anyone to overhear.
"It's going splendidly," you agree. "It's just that…they love you more than they do me."
"That can't be true, you're the most precious granddaughter, niece and cousin anyone could possibly have."
You sniffle and look up at him.
"You only say that 'cause I'm your best friend," you try to make light out of the situation.
"Girlfriend," he corrects you with a wink.
"Right," you chuckle through the tears.
"Come on. Let's not give them the opportunity to discuss us behind our backs," Jin jokes and you decide to return to the table. He gives you the strength needed to face them again.
Tumblr media
The Christmas holidays go by smoothly and in the blink of an eye. The days are filled with laughter, hot chocolate, yummy meals, wholesome Christmas movies, cozy socks and snowball fights with your cousin's kids. This might be the best Christmas you've ever had. You wonder if it's Jin's presence that made it so special and heartwarming. During the family dinners, he is the life of the party, always knowing the right thing to say to each and every one of your relatives. And when the two of you are alone, cuddled up in your room, he is your rock. You know you can count on him and tell him everything that has bothered you. And you know that he would understand you and comfort you like nobody else could.
Which is why it hurts so much when he is now driving you both back to the city. The pretense is over. You would no longer have an excuse to hold his hand or sleep in the same bed as him or kiss his cheek so openly. He is back to being your best friend. And perhaps that's the way it should be. You couldn't risk your friendship by doing something stupid like confessing your undying love for him. No, that would certainly be a terrible idea. Perhaps more terrible than having him as a fake boyfriend for the holidays.
"What's on your mind?" Jin asks.
"Hm?"
"I can see the gears turning in your head. Something is bothering you."
"Hey, aren't you supposed to look at the road instead of the gears in my head?" you tease him.
"I can multitask. Come on, just tell me."
"It's nothing. I just found myself wishing the Christmas holidays could last longer. I really had an amazing time, which doesn't usually happen around my relatives."
"Glad I could be of service," Jin smirks proudly, making you laugh. You would never grow tired of his casually confident nature.
Silence ensues for a couple of minutes and you are back to worrying and thinking about your unresolved feelings for your best friend. When suddenly, he interrupts your thought process with an unexpected suggestion.
"How about we have a second Christmas?"
"A second Christmas?" you repeat in confusion.
"My place. Just the two of us. We'll do all the things we didn't have the chance to do at your grandparents' house."
"Such as?" you inquire, wondering what you've missed.
"We'll play games and I'll make you my famous roast beef. We'll have midnight snacks and watch anime with no one judging us. We'll bake Christmas cookies together and we could even go ice-skating."
"That…sounds lovely. I'm in," you immediately agree, excited to have a second Christmas with Jin. Maybe, just maybe, a miracle will happen.
The next day, you arrive at his place and are amazed to find how magically decorated it is.
"Ta-da! Welcome to your own personal winter wonderland."
"My goodness, Jin, it looks incredible! How did you achieve all this so quickly and all by yourself? You must be exhausted."
"Nah, it was my pleasure. And besides, seeing the smile on your face is the best Christmas present I could hope for," he responds.
"Merry second Christmas to you, too," you grin and give him a hug. It feels so natural and like you were meant to end up right there.
As promised, the two of you get to do all the things you couldn't at your grandparents'. You watch the spiciest animes with zero shame, you eat ramen at 1am and you play violent games that would make your relatives gasp in horror. It is genuinely the most incredible Christmas. Even more incredible than the time you spent with your family.
But all good things inevitably come to an end. Tomorrow, it is time for both you and Jin to go back to work. And with that, the magical holidays will be over. You don't want them to be. You wish you could stay in this bubble forever, with Jin's arms wrapped around you.
"I should probably head home. You have to wake up early tomorrow."
"Or…you could stay. We can share the bed," Jin suggests and you can swear you hear a hopeful hint in his voice.
"Jin…we're no longer surrounded by my nosy relatives. You don't have to pretend it's okay with you to have me intruding on your personal space."
"Who said I was pretending?" he whispers and you probably shouldn't but you allow yourself to dream. There is no way he feels the same…or is there?
"Don't…don't say stuff like that if you don't mean it," you mumble, feeling more vulnerable than ever.
"I'm tired of hiding it, sweetheart," he sighs and presses his hand against your cheek. "I only offered the whole fake dating thing because I was hoping you would finally get the hint and realize how important you are to me. But in case it wasn't obvious enough, let me spell it out for you. I. Am. Crazy. About. You."
You blink in shock.
"Pinch me so I know I'm not dreaming. You…like me back?"
"How about I do something better?" Jin smiles softly and leans in to kiss you. It is slow and sweet, just as how you'd imagined it hundreds of times. No, scratch that. It is so much better. He makes you feel so special and loved. You wish you had confessed earlier. You have been missing out on so many Christmas kisses.
"Look up," Jin says gently once he finally breaks the kiss.
You do as he asks and you realize that you have somehow ended up under a mistletoe decoration he must have put up and you haven't noticed before.
"Aww, man, did you only kiss me because of that mistletoe?"
"Let me take you to my room and prove you otherwise," Jin vows, grabs your hand and urges you to follow his lead.
Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year.
The End

I love the humor of your fics! I've genuinely never read a story that does it's humor so well and even after multiple rereads I find myself laughing out loud reading Open Tab for example. What tips would you give for writers who are trying to incorporate humor into the story without it being corny?
Hey, sorry for the late reply, i've been really busy lately with the holidays, womp womp 🥲
My advice is: embrace the corny. Every joke I've made will someday (if not already) be corny to somebody. Some of them have become corny even to me. But that's okay. Corny is good. Corny is funny too. Life is too short to be embarrassed about your writing. Embrace corny.
And what makes you laugh the first time might not make you laugh the fifth time. That doesn't mean it wasn't funny the first four times, right? There are tons of jokes I read back on now and I'm like "oh GOD that's lame" but when i wrote it, and when people first read it, it was HILARIOUS. Humor just wears off a little the more you expect and remember it. I mean sure, there are always going to be those jokes that you think are ALWAYS funny, but they're probably not always funny to other people. They might not have been funny ever at all for some people.
All that matters is if YOU think it's funny. Make YOURSELF laugh and giggle and snort over your stupid, corny jokes. That's what I do. I write something, and if it makes me laugh, I know it'll make someone else laugh. Maybe only one other person, but hey, me and that person are the only people in the world with taste anyway so, bombs away. Don't play to an audience unless you're trying to sell something. Play to yourself and you'll attract like minded people and those are the BEST people to have as your readers. They'll love and support you more than your own dang mom.
And then of course the usual advice i give to people about writing comedy is to consume comedy. Watch some shows/movies or read some books/comics that you personally find hilarious. Really pay attention to why they're funny. If you have to, pause and really break a joke down. Even take notes if that's helpful. Basically treat it like you're about to write a deep dive essay on why you laughed. I know it might seem unfun, explaining the joke, but if you understand comedy, you'll have an easier time writing it. Pay attention to word usage, timing, physical gags, silence, etc. It's all important. But don't be afraid to play around! Comedy is like any art and is meant to be creative and unique to every individual. There are some things out there that people find funny that I can't even pretend to laugh at. And that's okay! It's about taste. Find what you like and try it on.
Personally, I like witty banter. I like humor that is a little surprising and over the top. I like when something is so dumb that you can't help but laugh about it. I like funny characters AND funny situations, but especially funny characters in funny situations. So these are the things I try to include in my writing.
But I also really enjoy contrast, so I like to pair humor with other stuff. Sweet romance, deep emotions, sad drama, etc. If you try to be funny and only funny all the time, you're gonna come off a little desperate and the jokes will fall flat. Ever watch a long running show and have to suffer watching it slowly get less and less funny as the seasons go by because all the nuance is gradually replaced with signature character traits recycled again and again and again until every character is a husk of their former selves? That's what it feels like when you focus too hard on making everything funny. You lose the soul of the writing.
Really pay attention to the things you find funny and try and emulate that same energy. Don't use the same jokes, of course, but try and capture the general vibe of the humor in a way that suits your story/writing style. A lot of the stuff I like to consume is witty banter/outlandish situations/crass euphemisms/puns so those are the things i like to put into my own stories. And hey, sometimes it doesn't work. I've written jokes that make me laugh until I cry but nobody seems to feel the same way and HEY, that's alright. I like it. And liking the stuff you're doing is the most important thing in the end.
Anyway, I hope this is helpful in some way. If you ever want any more advice, feel free to shoot me another ask! I'll try my best 👍
Good luck! Sending you good funny vibes for your adventures into comedic writing 🌈

15 people, 15 questions
I got tagged by @ppeonppeonhan @wen-kexing-apologist and @troubled-mind a while ago and finally found the peace in mind to answer these quetions. The holidays are always a stressful time and it feels like I don't have any time for myself to do things... I heard it gets worse the older you get and now I am afraid the next years are going to be over in a blink of an eye 😅 There are so many things I want to do! Anyway, thank you for the tag! 🥰
1. Are you named after anyone?
Nope. My parents liked the name and that is the whole story 😊
2. When was the last time you cried?
A few days ago I watched Howl's Moving Castle and was crying like a baby. I love this movie and what it does to me!
3. Do you have kids?
No, and I don't want to have kids. I like them, I love my niece and nephew, but I don't want my own.
4. What sports do you play/have you played?
I have played softball (Pitcher and Third Base) until I moved and didn't like the local team. So I stopped. I did a little bit Krav Maga, but stopped after my friend stopped too. Yeah, I don't like doing such things on my own.
5. Do you use sarcasm?
Yes. Often and with pleasure.
6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
It depends? Like appereance wise I guess a facial thing that stands out for me and as soon as I talk to them I listen to their tone and how they talk to me and others.
7. What’s your eye color?
Bluish with a hint of grey and yellow.
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
I hate scary movies. The last scary movie I watched was The Grudge 2 and that fucked with my brain. After the Exorcist I couldn't sleep in peace for a long time. So no horror for me. I do love Vampires and Witches and don't mind those scary movies and Sc-Fi is totally fine with me too - I love the Alien movies, could watch them over and over again (Part 2 is my favorite), but I hate movies like Event Horizon... So I go with happy endings. I love happy endings, but I have watched enough queer movies to appreciate a good sad ending in the right setting. Not every fucking story needs a sad ending, movie industry! There are happy queer stories! Tell them please! One reason why I love bl so much 😊
9. Any talents?
I try to be more self-confident, so: I have many different talents. I have a talent for seeing the beauty in a bad situation. I can comfort my friends and family and give them good advices and make people laugh. I have a talent to learn. I do have different talents and I am proud of them and I would love others to see themselfes with more patience and love and kindness to own their talents, to be proud of them, even though they think, this is lame or nothing special.
10. Where were you born?
Germany. This should be enough information.
11. What are your hobbies
Whatching beautiful series and talk about them or photoshop the shit out of my favorite scenes. And I do have a life besides all that (even if I don't know how I manage to have social contacts with this many shows to watch 😅). But I do Journaling (Bullet Journal and Junk Journal) and I play some "The Dark Eye" and other pen & paper roll-playing games with my friends.
12. Do you have any pets?
No. I always wanted a cat, but I just realised this isn't a good idea. I love to travel and I don't want my pet to be stressed because there are other people coming to their home to feed them and don't play with them and so on. And I work fulltime and won't have that much time for the pet. I do take care of the pets from friends, but most of the times I just move to their homes for the period and spend the days and nights with their beloved pets so they don't feel lonely. It is like a little vacation for me too 😅
13. How tall are you?
I am a tall girl.
14. Favorite subject in school?
German, sports, philosophy and arts.
15. Dream job?
I had so many over the years. But right now I dream of having my own little queer book store with one or two cats and coffee, tea and hot chocolate for the customers and on weekends I would sell selfmade cookies or cake. That would be so lovely.
I don't know who of you already done this one. I am still tagging you and if you have, please just tag me in a comment so I can read a little bit about you 🥰 And as always: If you don't want to play along, just ignore me 🤍 @pose4photoml @leonpob @nieves-de-sugui @bl-bam-beyond @maxescheibechlinichacheli

Lexa helps dilf Clarke take Madi trick or treating around the neighborhood
Madi is slowly approaching the age where trick or treating stops being "cool" and to be honest Clarke is dreading it. She's her little girl, her baby and Clarke is not ready for her to get older.
For now though Madi is excited to buy a costume and decorate the house for halloween. Niylah was a big Halloween nerd and Madi inherited that love for the holiday from her. Scary movies and trick or treating were always a big thing even when Madi was tiny and Clarke has made sure to keep that tradition alive. And now that Lexa is in their lives, Clarke would like to include her in this little tradition.
At first, Clarke feels almost silly asking Lexa if she wants to join them. They've been dating for a little over a year now and yes Clarke does already have a ring in mind to propose but Lexa is still young, she might want to go to a party or out with friends, not stroll around the neighborhood with Clarke and her kid. She should've known better because the moment she asks, Lexa lights up and immediately agrees.
Madi is also excited for Lexa to come too and then join them for the traditional horror movie where they eat all the candy she got (living in a good neighborhood means Madi gets the good full sized candy so its a damn feast). Her friends will join her, and they think Lexa is really cool. She's Madi's pretty, starbucks buying step mom and, if anything, she's made Madi seem even cooler. Clarke and Lexa are the designated adults for the evening as they walk behind the group of pre teens, all way too excited about their scary costumes (Lexa found an book about old halloween costumes from the 20s and 30s and Madi looks bone chilling in what might be the simplest yet scariest costume Clarke had gotten her. Niylah would be so proud).
Lexa hasnt really enjoyed halloween since she was a kid, by Madi's age she had already stopped tricking or treating and did nothing for halloween despite adoring the holiday. And seeing Madi and her friends giggle and have fun, seeing the younger kids' adorable costumes as they go around with her parents is a treat for her (and giving her some baby fever, dont tell Clarke, they havent really talked about kids yet).
"Im sorry if this isn't all that exciting."
"Dont be sorry love, its such a nice night anf I enjoy seeing the costumes and the decorations the neighbors put out. And I didnt want you to get stuck watching the kids alone."
"Actually. Gracie's dad was supposed to accompany them but I volunteered. Madi's getting to that age where things are becoming lame - cringe, I think that's what she calls them - and I just want to enjoy these moments with her before she becomes a teenager and even me breathing embarrasses her."
"You're a good mom, Clarke. And Madi loves you, she would never be embarrassed of you."
"Easy for you to say, you're the cool step-mom! I'm just boring ol' mom"
Lexa will giggle and kiss her cheek, "you'll never be boring to me love"
Every few houses Madi will run to them and give them some candy to eat, even if its just because she doesn't like them, reaching into her bag which is a burlap sac and producing the candy with a smile
"coconut for mom and dark chocolate for Lexa"
before being called over and giving them a "gotta go!" and running ahead with the rest of the group, stopping for a minute when she sees a younger kid in tears as they walk down the driveway of the house she was just in, the candy Madi got and the kid didnt now over. Its her favorite. And yet she'll kneel down in from of the little kid, no older than five, and offer them the candy.
Its sweet and somewhat heart breaking to see the way Clarke stares at her little girl, the pride she has in her and the good person she is becoming and at the same time the slight sadness of a mother watching her daughter grow into a woman.
Once home, Madi will run to ger her pajamas on, the skelwton onesie her grandparents got her before she gets comfy on the couch, head on Lexa's lap and her legs thrown over her mom's. She'll jump and scream at the tv and laugh when Lexa or Clarke do the same, sometimes entertaining herself with unwrapping a piece of candy when she knows she doesn't want to see what's happening on the screen.
Lexa as long since decided she loves Clarke and Madi and that they are her family now. But moments like these where she is included in the simple celebrations and traditions truly just cememts it for her they are her forever 🥹

I would love a blurb dialogue between eddie and reader who is struggling with an ED. I’ve been in recovery for 2 years now and this time of year is so difficult for me.
If it’s too sensitive of a topic I totally understand 🖤
Hiii my lovey!! I just wanna say I’m so proud of you!! 2 years is amazing and I really hope you enjoy this, I went with a few conversations but if you prefer more of a blurb let me know I’ll gladly do it for you💖
TW: these conversations are centered around the reader having an ED so if that’s not something you’re comfortable with then please scroll on✨
*Eddie knows this time of year can be hard but he’s there for you and let’s you know he’s proud of you*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Hey look at me…you’re doing great. If that’s all you can do today that’s fine baby.” “I’m sorry.” “For what? You don’t need to apologize to me sweetheart.” “I feel like you spent all this time making dinner and I just ruined it.” “Baby it’s Mac n cheese it took me ten minutes and you had some didn’t you? So it’s not ruined at all.” “It was really yummy…” “yeah? Yummy enough to add it to the list of things you’d be okay with trying to eat again?” “I think so yeah.”
“Can we…leave?” “You okay princess?” “Yeah it’s just like…I can’t do this right now…I feel like everyone is staring at me.” “Sure baby let me grab your jacket and we can go.” “Thank you.” “Of course sweetheart.” “I just feel like they are watching me to see if I’m actually going to eat anything and it’s just…making me uncomfortable.” “Want me to tell them all to fuck off? Because I will.” “Eddie…” “I understand baby but don’t forget how amazing you’re doing okay? This time of year is always a little…tricky but it’s gonna be okay.” “Promise?” “I promise and I’ll be right here by your side the whole time.” “Have I told you today how much I love you?” “Don’t think so. But I love you too baby.”
“Why is the us whole day just about eating? It’s fucking ridiculous and I hate it.” “It is kinda weird I’ll give you that. But we don’t have to go if you don’t want to baby we can stay here and watch one of those lame holiday movies and just be lazy lumps on the couch.” “You’d be okay with that? Really? Won’t Wayne be upset if we don’t go?” “Eh he can add it to the list of things I’ve done to make him mad.” “Eddie don’t be ridiculous I don’t want Wayne upset with you.” “Why would I want to go and be around a bunch of people who will be complaining about how dry the turkey is or how the green bean casserole is too runny. Staying home with you sounds a hell of a lot better to me.” “It’s just a rough day for me…” “i know it is sweetheart and that’s why we will just stay home and relax.” “You’re too good to me Eddie Munson.” “Now who’s being ridiculous?”

You know I have to:
Ashton
Secret Santa
“Did you get us matching pyjamas?”
I hope you like this one sweet Angie!🥰
Tumblr media
You’ve been low-key dating Ashton for the last couple months, it’s still fresh and new and exciting. You don’t really want other people knowing yet as you’re still testing things out and being somewhat new to Ashton’s friend group, you appreciated how much Ashton makes you feel included.
At one of the small get-togethers at Michael and Crystal’s they announced they were holding a Secret Santa for their annual Holiday Party. You and Ashton had agreed to not buy each other gifts because you didn’t want to make a big deal about it, instead, you agreed on spending a night together watching Christmas movies and drinking hot chocolate.
Ironically (and fatefully) you picked his name out of the Santa hat and now you wanted to get him the perfect gift.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas you try to badger gift ideas out of him. First, you think candles but he comments he has nearly 3 candles in every room of his house. You come across a signed vinyl by his most recent favorite artist but it was way out of your price range.
The Secret Santa Party is looming closer and closer and you’re panicking because you want the perfect gift but nothing seems to suffice. You’re at a store then come across an array of matching pajamas. As your eyes roll over the different colors and patterns you remember a topic from one of your first dates with Ashton.
You were discussing your families and traditions as you cuddled around his firepit, his long fingers twisting with yours. He mentioned how he loved getting matching pajamas with his mom, sister, and brother. Then when he’d go to his grandparents’ house, they would have the same kind.
You pick up a green onesie decorated with white pine trees and other patterns then find a matching set in your size. The color would really make the green in his eyes pop and it was in your price range. Maybe it’s impulsive, or you’re desperate, or you’re picturing the two of you wearing them together, but you bought them.
It’s the night of the party and you wore a simple black dress with gold shoes. There’s tons of food, eggnog, mocktails (the candy cane on is yours and Ashton’s favorite) and then it’s present time. You’re squished next to Ashton on the couch and it calms you a little as you clutch his gift bag between your fingers watching everyone else open their presents.
As it continues, you start to feel your neck and cheeks warm up because everyone else bought such extravagant gifts for each other. Crystal was your Secret Santa and she got you a full package at her spa she goes to complete with a nail coupon, eyebrows, massage, facial and a gift card to your favorite bookstore.
When it’s your turn to give your gift you were hot all over in nerves, your heart hammering inside your chest. You were hanging onto your red bag with a big green bow slid through the loops as a life preserver.
“Babe, you okay?” Ashton asks gently.
You mutter some excuse about part of it being in the car and you make a mad dash towards the chilled LA night. You climbed into Ashton’s car and rubbed at your temples.
How could you think a pair of matching pajamas would be a good idea? He’s used to lavish presents, spa days, elegant hikes at an extravagant place in the desert.
Ashton finds you shivering in his car with your gift in your lap. He opens the door.
“What’s wrong angel? I know you didn’t leave anything behind,” he says gently.
“I don’t want to give you my gift.”
“You’re my Secret Santa?” he flashes his dimples.
“Yes.”
“Why don’t you want to give it to me?”
“Because. It’s lame compared to the other extravagant gifts…I need more time and more money.”
“I’m sure it’s a lovely gift because you thought of it. Can I please open it?”
“It’s stupid,” you shake your head. His fingers graze your cheek turning your head towards him.
“I highly doubt that, anything from you will never be stupid. Come inside, it’s freezing out here.”
With one hand holding yours and the other carrying your bag, he leads you back inside and into a room far away from the main party that has a traditional Christmas tree set up. You gnaw on your lip as he unties the green ribbon and pulls out the folded onesies and he smiles.
“Did you get us matching pajamas?”
“Yeah, because you mentioned how when you were little you’d match with your family–why are you laughing?!” you stare at him horrified and feeling more embarrassed than ever. “See! I told you it’s stupid–”
“No, no, that’s not why I’m laughing,” he chortles then reaches behind the couch holding a gift wrapped box with Santa’s faces on the red paper. “Open this.”
“We agreed no gifts–”
“I couldn’t not get you a gift. Please, open it, baby.”
You rip the paper and stare at the set of matching pajamas with gingerbread men on them.
“Ash…what–?”
“I saw them and thought we could wear them on New Year’s Eve since we wanted to do a cozy night in.”
“We got each other the same gift?”
You stare at each other for a beat then bust out in laughter. You’re laughing so hard your side hurts and you fall into his shoulder.
“I love our matching pajamas,” he murmurs in your hair.
You tilt your head, noses bumping until your lips connect in a sweet kiss.
“I do, too. Thank you.”
He kisses you again, you’re matching pajamas crinkle between you two.

“nine mutuals you want to know better” tag game!
Tagged by @sarenhale ! I didn't have access to my computer the past couple days so I'm a bit late, but this was a lot of fun!! Thank you for the tag <3
Last Song: lately I've been relaxing to the Hollow Knight OST (City of Tears best track) but in terms of lyrical music, I recently rewatched the music video for "Little Dark Age" by MGMT because its vibes are fucking impeccable and mesmerizing (I can watch it on repeat for hours)
Favorite Color: purple is my go-to answer (especially blue-ish purples), but I also really love dark greens and desaturated earthy colors so much
Last Movie/TV Show: I feel like I haven't been watching movies lately (I'm more of a show person because I like longer form narratives) but I think the last one I watched was "Better Off Dead" while I was visiting my family for the holidays. It was a weird/surreal but good time! As for shows, I finally got around to watching Scavenger’s Reign!! Every aspect was just amazing, especially the worldbuilding and visuals. 2D animation is probably my favorite medium, so I'm really glad we're seeing more animation for adults that wants to tell a story instead of being a delivery device for lame sex jokes and cringe humor. OH ALSO DUNGEON MESHI!!! For a lot of the same reasons! Excited to watch the new episode tonight :>
Sweet / Spicy / Savory: I have a HUGE sweet tooth, so if I had to pick one, that would be it. Savory foods are great and I love them, I just have a leftover "now's your chance!" impulse from not being allowed much sugar as a kid that I can't seem to get rid of. I'm also weak to the "I deserve a lil treat" trap if I've got a bunch of sweet snacks around, so I have to be careful. As for spicy….I am SO completely unable to handle spicy food it’s almost funny, but really it’s just tragic because I LOVE cuisines known for being spicy, like mexican and thai. If I eat out, I always have to be like “can you please make it mild?” and even then, if it's not seasoned for the babiest of babies, my mouth will burn and my weak, white-person tummy will hurt.
Relationship Status: I keep forgetting I’m getting married in less than six months. My partner and I got engaged like two years ago and have lived together for almost five, so my brain just defaults to "there’s probably a guy nearby" and doesn’t think much deeper on it than that.
Last thing I googled: "morels" because I was discussing mushrooms with my friend and those are some cool lookin' guys! Shaggy ink caps too!
Current Obsession: …….One Piece 😅 I was a big fan as a teen but only got as far as the Skypiea arc before I fell off reading/watching it. The hype over the new live action version reminded me the series existed, so I’ve been not so slowly making my way through again, picking up where I left off. I love how absolutely bonkers, there-are-no-rules, anime-ass-anime it is, but also how genuine and heartfelt it can be. I also enjoy how character-driven so much of the plot is which works because of how interesting the characters are (Chopper, Robin, and Franky are my favs). I just got to the timeskip, so I’m maybe…halfway through? between this and BG3, RIP my free time lol
Last Book: I've been reading through Seiji Yoshida's "Houses with a Story" (slowly, because I want to really take it in and savor it) and it's been a delight. Very relaxing and inspiring :> (up next, I finally got copies of the Locked Tomb series, so soon I will be enjoying The Space Lesbians)
Looking forward to: Being able to organize and enjoy my "new" office space after some hectic days! My partner and I realized we barely spend any time in our bedroom except for sleeping, so we swapped my office into the bigger room in our apartment! There were some complications with getting the internet working on my PC, but we finally got it all smoothed out. Now I finally have all my books and sewing/crafting/creative stuff in one place without it feeling cramped or hiding things away in storage :>
Thank you again for the tag! I'm tagging @justagoos, @icicleteeth, @lunarliart, @saltsparkle, @fael-draws, @juliedillon, @ninamodaffari, @crabdominalpain, and the final slot for anyone else who wants to join in - but please don't feel obligated, this is just for fun! :>

Today I had the honor of interviewing the amazing and talented Daniella Carter. You may know her best from her role from the hit tv show Ninjago, where she plays the part of Daniella Garmadon, older sister of Lloyd Garmadon and the Master of Dragons. But this talented actress as also starred in many romance and holiday movies as well as other tv series. I asked the readers in a poll what questions you would like this amazing actress to answer, and I took the top 10 questions and got her answers. Daniella is such a lovely person and she leaves you feeling loved and happy when she bids you farewell, at least I know I did. It's no wonder that she is one of the most beloved actresses out there.
Q: Did you ever think that you would be part of a tv series that has lasted over ten years? A: Oh most definitely not, but I can't say that I'm not grateful for the amazing opportunity. We've become a family and I wouldn't have it any other way to be honest. The familial bonds between the characters as the show progresses is rooted in our feelings for each other in real life.
Q: What's it like working with your husband on set? A: Oh it's a blast. I can't say that we don't make each other laugh after serious fights that our characters have in the show, just to lighten the mood. Funny story, we didn't even know that we would be working with each other. When my agent called me with the role, she told me to keep it to myself and not to tell anyone. Well, apparently so did Michael's agent. We came up with these lame excuses on why we would be gone for an hour or so, and we were both so shocked when we saw each other at the script reading!
Q: Out of all the seasons, which one is your favorite? A: Oh goodness. All the seasons have been so wonderful, and it is really hard to pick just one. But if I had to pick just one, it would have to be Prime Empire. I loved the avatar costume that I got to wear while we were in the video game hunting down the three Keytanas. The extensions were kinda heavy though, [laughing]. As pretty as they were, it was pretty hard on my neck not gonna lie. I am so grateful that she doesn't have hair that long all the time.
Q: Have there been any injuries on set? A: Well, there have been many bumps and bruises from accidents here and there. But the major injury that I know of is when I broke my ankle on set. We were filming The March of The Oni season and I had gotten tripped up in some of the cables that were running across the floor. The producers had moved some cameras around and I didn't lift my foot up enough. I only had a small fracture but it was still enough to be put into a cast. I had thought that the writers would have rewritten the script and Dani would have been off on some other adventure, but the writers and producers were so kind and let Dani stay in the season. We just had to redo one little scene where Dani's ankle is hurt.
Q: What is the meaning behind your tattoo? A: The lotus? This was one of the symbols that was pitched for Daniella's gi. It may not have been chosen, but it is one of my favorites. It's simple but it means so much. I got this tattoo like a week before the 10 year anniversary. I've loved the other characters that I have played, and the ones that I am playing now, but Daniella will always be closest to my heart. She's been such a big part of my life and I don't think I'm ever gonna be ready for the series to end.
Q: Are you really knitting on set? A: Yes! I! Am! I've been knitting ever since I was a child, and when the producers said that we could give our character's one hobby, I jumped at the opportunity. Most of the things that I knit on set are gifts for the other cast members or something for myself. But every once and a while, I'll be working on something that I sell on my online store. One time, like way early in the series when I first started knitting on set, thought that it would be funny to mess up the scene on purpose, thinking that I would undo my work to start again. Boy, were they so wrong. I just kept on knitting, and that is where Dani's sass face came from to actually. The director saw the face that I gave them and asked if I could do that face on command. And the rest is history.
Q: What are your future projects? A: I can't give away too many spoilers. I don't think the producers and writers would be to happy about that. But what I can say is that Michael and I are finally living a dream of ours and are going to co star in a holiday romance movie together. We've been wanting to star in a movie like that for so long, and working together on the Ninjago set as only reignited that dream. We also have a holiday special in the works as well, so stay tuned for that!
Q: What was your favorite moment working with your husband on set? A: There are so many moments that I will cherish but I think by all time favorite would have to be when we celebrated his birthday and we pushed his head into the cake. He looked so cute when he lifted his head and there was just chocolate cake everywhere. I'd show a picture, but I think I might get in trouble [laughs]
Q: We keep talking about you and your husband, but we all know that you two got married in between seasons. What was that like? A: Crazy for sure. It was in between the Hands of Time season and the Sons of Garmadon season. Well, the filming of it anyways. We had been planning during the Hands of Time season when we could, and the others helped a lot when we had a break. And then when we finished filming, the directors gave us some time in between and boy did we hit the ground at a dead sprint. Just task after task after task. I never want to plan another wedding, EVER. Granted, there won't be another wedding for me. Michael is my true love and I don't think I could be married to anyone else.
Q: What were your inspirations when figuring out how to play Daniella in Ninjago? A: I wanted a young woman, who no matter what life threw at her, she would bounce back. I didn't want her to be invincible, or didn't feel the pain of guilt and longing. But that she would use what she was going through to really fight for what was right, and for her family, friends and home. I didn't want Daniella to become this side character that was "too ladylike" or someone who was easily dismissed. I wanted someone who could speak her mind when she wanted to and not just give in to what everyone around her was saying if she didn't believe it was right. I wanted her to be the woman that I wanted to be as a kid. And I hope that she sparks inspiration into the young girls watching to be the best that they can be, no matter what anyone says.

"It's not much, but. . ."
It's smaller than the larger project he had been working on, but it was no less heartfelt. In fact, it had more heart than the corkboard above his desk because every instance of the scrapbook being made had been while he was in a good mood, while he was happy and chipper and like himself. The corkboard was meant to be a reminder, but the scrapbook was proof that he would be alright once the time came.
"It's not completely filled out." He pointed out once the gift was opened. "There are tons of blank pages, but I figured we could fill them out together."
In his seat, he fidgeted. "You've been trying really hard to make me happy. Or, at least, you've been making it easier for me to be happy again. All of the stuff in there, I only put in there while I felt normal. It's lame, but there's legit nothing but good feelings in there. I want to keep that going, but I wanted you to know you're doing good. Even if I'm in a bad mood or I go backwards, I still appreciate you. Merry Christmas, Nic. Thanks for making it a good one."           Basically becoming a guardian to Peter was never her intent. It had gone from Spider-man saving her to Peter Parker offering her a safe haven and promise to watch her so some guy named Fury wouldn’t lock her up. To her adopting Aunt May and Peter as her own family in every sense of the word. Auntie no longer being with them devastated her, but no more than Peter. Nicole did not have time to grieve, she had to move and had to act. Her little brother needed support and stability, as well as a way to keep everything in the house moving to and fro and properly. Money to keep food on the table and electricity for them to enjoy movies.
She had never worked so much in her life before, but it was to ensure that the home that housed her was able to still function. But not only that, in favor of supporting Peter, she had to bury her own grief. Including dragging him out of the house for fun little outings, getting him his favorite foods, ensuring he’s patched up after work as Spider-man...she had done so much to make sure he’s okay. He still has his moments, but at the end of the day she can see that bit by bit he’s slowly getting there. From birthdays to non commercial holidays to actual commercial holidays...Nicole ensured Peter was taken care of and didn’t miss anything.
Christmas was no different. She had already done comics for his birthday...so this time she got him a game. It had just come out a few weeks ago and he had spoken to her about it before. Plus with all the sales, it wouldn’t hurt her pockets. Something else to take his mind off of everything.
As the gift exchange was going on, she had no idea what Peter could have gotten her. It had a decent weight to it, and opening it, she saw the cutest little scrapbook. It had his touch all over it, even half the stickers she used when teasing him were covering it. Slowly going through it, she saw all of their happy moments, trips, little outings and moments. Even the one where she fell asleep on his birthday and he had his comics!
“--I’s lovely, Peter. I see ya go’ some artistic tastes from yer big sis~”
Leaning her head against his shoulder as they looked through, she smiled at the empty pages. Whether Peter knew it or not, that meant a lot to her. Not only was he right that they had a lot more adventures and moments to go on and have...

It meant that he wasn’t giving up yet.

Is Christmas your all-time favorite holiday? If so, why? I count my birthday as a holiday, and that’s actually my favorite one – I’m more intense with preparations and treats on my birthday than any other holiday. I feel like my overall feelings about Christmas are dulled knowing the reason why it’s even celebrated in the first place. I’m here just for the food and the 2-week company shutdown I get to enjoy, lol. Is Christmas more about presents or family? Family (and food, haha). Never been about the presents for me in the sense that I wouldn’t mind if someone didn’t have a gift for me; I do like getting presents for my loved ones though, just to let them know they’re always in my thoughts.
Do you have your Christmas tree and decorations up? We have a Christmas tree that’s bombarded with decorations, and we we put that up starting either late October or early November. We used to have a wreath by our front door, too, but we haven’t done that in a few years.
Do you even decorate? Yeah, just the tree. It’s filled with every kind of Christmas tree trinket you can think of, though.
Have you ever told a person that they are all you want for Christmas? Nah, not even with my last partner. I find it too cringey lol.
What are you hoping to get this Christmas? All I asked for is anything with BTS’ faces on it, doesn’t matter if it’s an authentic product or fanmade or replicas, to make it easier for everyone who might have no clue what to get me. But really, I’m fine with anything and nothing. It sounds so pretentious LOL but honestly the effort and presence of family and friends alone is enough.
By any chance is it a game console? I don’t think I ever asked for a game console for Christmas, this year being no exception; we weren’t the most well-off family in my childhood years and I didn’t want to put any more pressure for my parents.
Do you even make Christmas lists? I make Christmas shopping lists, if that’s what you mean. Mine is more or less done, just have around 4-5 people to buy for and I’ll be all set.
Are you grateful with anything you get for Christmas? Yes. Comes with the upbringing. I have relatives who have difficulties getting by, so if I get anything from them at all I know it must have taken lots of effort and thought. I’m grateful for literally anything and I make sure to use everything I receive, whether it’s a generic mug or headband or phone stand or whatever.
Have you ever given away a gift because you didn't like it? No. I’m honestly just genuinely grateful for any gift I get! And I like to make good use of every single one.
Have you ever gotten a gift that you felt like you couldn't accept? Yeah, last year my friends got together and we basically exchanged K-pop merch with one another so I felt super shy accepting what they got me! I feel like I felt this the most with Reena’s gift - a picket of Taehyung, hahaha.
Are you going to do any traveling this Christmas? Just short-term trips - we’re heading south on the 25th to gather with my dad’s side. We also have a quick vacation the weekend immediately after New Year’s.
Is anyone coming to visit you for Christmas? No, we’re the ones doing all the visiting.
In your opinion, what is Christmas really all about? Spending time with family that you only get to see during this time of the year.
Do you enjoy the 25 days of Christmas on some TV channels? I have no clue what this means.
What Christmas movie is your favorite? Love Actually and It’s A Wonderful Life!
Have you seen 'A Christmas Story'? If so, did you like it? I haven’t seen it.
Do you think that 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' is lame or classic? I’ve never seen that either.
What is the first Christmas movie you have seen this month? Haven’t watched anything Christmas-y so far. The only thing I’ve binge-watched is Breaking Bad, and that is the furthest thing that would give you holiday vibes lol.
Do you enjoy listening to Christmas music? Eh, not really. I like the jazzy kinds, but overall I rarely turn on Christmas playlists. Mariah Carey, Michael Buble, and Friends™ are way too overplayed during the holiday season anyway.
Do you really get involved in the Christmas spirit? Idk what this question is trying to ask, so I guess not. Like I said, I am largely here for the food and the 2-week vacation I get to get, lol.
Does the Christmas environment make you feel comfortable? You know what? I’m really glad and grateful that it’s been starting to actually feel that way. I had the worst seasonal depression every single year a while back, and Christmas was always something I dreaded. If I wasn’t in a family reunion that I didn’t want to be in, I kept myself locked in my room where I watched whatever comfort show I felt like watching. Not the case anymore.
Do you donate toys for the toy drive this time of year? Not toys. But I’m looking at donating money for a few animal shelters I follow. When I’m able to save up more, I’d love to give in-kind donations, like leashes, pet food, etc.
What is the best Christmas gift you have ever received? Paramore tickets.
Have you ever cried on Christmas day? Maybe Christmas 2020 because it was my first post-breakup Christmas? Idk I barely remember anything from the time but I’m not ruling out crying.
Are you usually the first one to wake up on Christmas day? I haven’t noticed. Probably not.
Are your favorite colors red and green? No, my current favorite is purple.
What colors do you like to see in Christmas lights? Yellow.
Have you ever helped your friends decorate for Christmas? No, that’s usually a family thing where I’m from, and I’m not about to interrupt their own decorating sesh.
Do your Christmas decorations stay up until New Year's? Until the end of January; that’s how long the Christmas season is here.
Are you usually the one that takes down the decorations? Our entire family does, since we have a million Christmas tree decors up.
In your opinion, what is the best gift you have ever given someone? Unfortunately that title belongs to stuff I’ve given my last partner; I always went down the sentimental path when it came to giving them gifts, so there were a few presents that I was a little prouder of. But putting that aside, probably the film camera I’m getting my cousin and his fiancée this year! They recently got engaged, so I thought of getting them that so they can capture more 2023 memories the old-school way.
Have you ever given someone a gift they didn't like? I’m sure. Nobody can get it right all the time. < This. I’ve had to be resourceful in the past when I wasn’t earning yet, and I’m sure I had misses here and there.
Is it really the thought that counts? Yeah. Again, it all boils down to perspective since I have loved ones who aren’t the most well-off but insist on buying presents. I’m grateful for anything I receive even if I never really expect stuff from anyone.
Do you throw Christmas parties every year? Well our house is a little farther than everyone else’s and is also a bitch to get to, so as much as we want to host parties we don’t really do so to avoid hassling people. We’re the ones who do the visiting. I host parties for other stuff though, like if there are online BTS concerts to watch.
Do you even enjoy Christmas parties? Yeah, but it depends on the crowd. Parties with family and friends are great, but my social battery drains out faster if I’m at like a company Christmas party.
What happened on the worst Christmas you ever had? I’d say 2020 because I had to fake a smile through most of it when I was crushingly depressed inside. But it also allowed me to recognize the people and things I did have around me.
Has Christmas been on your mind more and more as the days go by? It’s barely in my mind, honestly. I can’t even believe it’s already the 21st -- I have none of my presents wrapped, and tomorrow I still have to shop for 3 more people lol. I’m mostly ecstatic that I get 2 weeks off work and want to focus on resting up and powering up for 2023.
Do you usually count down the days until Christmas? Only as a kid, when Christmas used to feel a lot bigger and more exciting. Only thing I’m counting down for anymore is Jin’s discharge from the military...
Do you know people who hate Christmas? I used to – the person was me. These days I don’t think anyone I know hates the holidays.
What age did you stop believing in Santa Clause? I never believed tbh and I remember being 4 or 5 and questioning his ‘midnight visits.’ I didn’t understand why I had to be asleep for him to drop by.
Do you host any kind of Christmas event or help with it? Starting last year my Army friends and I get together for Christmas to exchange gifts and have some drinks, and we plan that out together. This year’s gathering is going to be tomorrow.
Do you like eggnog? I’ve never tried but I’d love to have it someday!
Have you ever done a 'Secret Santa'? Yes, monito-monita is a big tradition in our extended family, on my mom’s side, and we’ve been doing it...pretty much the entire time I’ve been alive, lol.
Do you hate to see people sad on Christmas? I mean, I don’t like seeing people sad at any time of the year. < This is true. To answer the question more directly though, I guess I feel for people who don’t want to be alone on Christmas but end up so.
Have you ever ruined someone else's Christmas? I hope not? Idk for sure.
Do you decorate any online profiles for Christmas? No.
If you could live Christmas over day after day, would you? No. Imagine how tiring/draining that would be...
Do you have any pets that you buy Christmas presents for? No, it’s not like they can grasp the context of Christmas lol. Their dinners during this time of the year get a whole lot fancier though LOL
Are you or have you ever been in a Christmas play? If so, which one was it? Nopes.
Does Christmas get old year after year? Not for me, but I empathize with people who feel this way. Personally, I feel that it doesn’t get ‘old’ per se; it’s just that the older you get, the bigger shoes you have to fill, you know? You start to be the grownup who helps the other grownups in organizing parties, who has to think of nieces and nephews and family friends to give presents to, who has to start paying attention on whether or not you’re keeping within budget, who has to focus on feeding people and making sure everyone comes home full, etc. Christmas is largely a test of practicality for me at this point.
Do you like, love, or hate Christmas shopping? I dread it at the start when I open my shopping apps and there are like 47374934723822038207483 stuff to choose from. But being able to find a good gift for someone is always a nice feeling.
Has anyone ever ruined your Christmas? I remember having to take care of 50 work-related deliveries in the middle of Christmas in 2020. Same year I also had a client who needed reports to be done on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so I was literally working on my laptop while in the car and on the way to see family.
Have you witnessed your neighbors arguing on Christmas? (I have, bad scene) I haven’t. People are just karaokeing all over the place lol.
Are you working on Christmas? We have a company shutdown that started today and lasts until January 3rd, but of course that doesn’t permit us to completely shut off our lines from our clients. Urgent things that can’t be avoided still have to be attended to, of course, but in general we have these two weeks off to relax.
Have you ever had to work on Christmas? Yeah, I touched on that a bit earlier.
Have you ever lost someone special on Christmas? Fortunately not during the Christmas season. But like most people I’ve had to deal with those ‘first Christmases’ - first Christmas without a grandparent, a friend, a pet, etc who died earlier in the year.
Is Christmas better than New Year's or are they both equally awesome? I love New Year’s. It was always the more exciting holiday for me.
Are you really excited for Christmas? Not really, it’s just nice to be off work. < Completely this.
Did you like this survey? I hope so. Well, bye! ^_^ Sure, thanks!
