Soo like in the last two weeks or so since my last post Master has like made a few umm… new rules for me to like follow. i'm working on a Black OC right now and was wondering some stuff i haven't seen you cover on hair and skin care routines.

for one, he shaves his head. this is for practical and religious reasons - he's a paladin with a busy schedule who can expect to see at least minor combat any given day (he works as the head of a correctional facility) and he doesn't have time/energy/resources to take care of hair a lot of the time. the shaving isn't tied to his oath but he does think of it as an important part of his group identity within his Order.

as for skin, he's an older man, in his mid-60's - i imagine him with some pretty deep-set wrinkles. but he's a very mindful sort who, while he doesn't get much spare time, would care enough to regularly maintain his skin's health.

in particular i've heard that face shaving looks very different for Black men than what i'm used to as a white guy. there's more razor bumps, so a lot of them use a shaving powder for their facial hair, i've heard? so i was wondering if you know more about that, because Black skincare is a bit of a mystery to me.

so basically if i wanted to give this guy a spa day, to maintain the clean shave and nice lustrous (or at least not dried out) skin, what might that look like? i'd love your take on that or really anything else that you think would make for a more military-friendly hygiene routine.

Imma be honest with you: my dad shaved bald very often during my life, and never once did he use a "powder". Idk what you're talking about for that one 😅 But I mean, from what I read, and from what I observed from him, it's not like it's all that different or specific. What really makes the difference is that bc our hair is more coarse, it's easier to get ingrown hairs.

Since this is in a fantasy era, he'd need to bathe with warm/hot water and soap so his face and head are clean, then use a sharp razor and good shaving cream (preferably one that could nourish his skin too). don't shave against the grain to prevent bumps and scarring. Aftershave is a big one; that helps with disinfecting the area and preventing razor bumps- I use witch hazel with rose water, which already sounds fantasy-like, but any astringent that disinfects but won't be too dry like alcohol works. Then a moisturizer for his face.

If he's serious about daily neat facial care, then he needs to be washing his face with soap twice a day, and using the in universe equivalent of a sunscreen moisturizer. Yes, Black people need sunscreen. 👍🏾

How do you write so good?? I'm a writer as well and I'd love to hear your tips and tricks ^^

First of all, I wanna thank you for liking the crap stuff I write. (Cause I'm genuinely amazed some times that people just like it and I'm not saying this because.)

⚠️⚠️LONG AND POSSIBLE CONTROVERSIAL ANSWER AHEAD ⚠️⚠️

It's kinda funny, ngl. Lemme tell you something, I don't know if you guys struggle with Impostor Syndrome a lot like me, but everytime someone gives a compliment like this my brain just goes into self sabotaging mode.

Cause I'm aware that I can do better. (And we will ~) it's weird. I'm always striving to do better.

As for the tips and tricks, I'm surely not the right person to ask advice from 😅, but Imma just tell you this from what I experience and from my perspective (Hopefully won't get backlash from this, if not, R. I. P. me jsksj) Be warned though, it's kinda contradictory cause writing is hard yo!

1. You gotta read. Either books or whatever your favorite genre is, but you gotta read. I consume fan fics and non fanfics cause you learn from other people too. I read fanfics mostly to know new words, how the character develops and the like.

I read more spanish stuff than anything. Which I try to transfer to what I write.

2. I try to keep it as simple as possible. With that I mean to not over embellish words cause it gets boring and weird. Sure, everyone wants to make their fanfics pretty (nothing wrong in that) but sometimes I feel that less is more. Like, nothing wrong if you wanna poet the f- out of your fic. (THIS IS A DOUBLE EDGED ONE SO BE CAREFUL!!)

I mean there is a huge difference in reading:

"The anger and frustration on her way of living was taking a toll on her mind"

and:

"Her nemesism had muddled her mind into an endless spiral of what ifs and what not, and frankly if her mind could speak, it'd beg for a break."

It's hard to pick one style, but as long as you keep it consistent, I guess it's all good (?) (Funny cause I always aim for the second one and end up in the first jsksj and I dont even know myself if I'm keeping it consistent)

3. Get yourself a beta reader that doesn't coddle you. It helps alot!!!! Cause again, compliments sure are nice, but they don't tell you where you could get better. ✨( Unless the reader provides puntual feedback on what they liked and what not. Those are my favorites and a rare gem ❤️)

4. I know this one is hard because everyone at some point have done this. But IF YOU COMPARE yourself to other writers? You'll lose yourself. Not only you'll lose motivation cause you seem unable to write like them, but you will fall into this... vicious circle of self deprecating and burnout. And the self doubt sky rockets nonstop.

Everyone is different. Everyone learns in a different pace. Trust me, I wanted to make great stories with a good looking writing when I had the slightest idea of what I was doing (Still do!) 😂. Writing fanfics is not a competition to who writes more beautiful/good/professional than others. Or who has more notes or the most canon-stuck character, or the cause let's face it, none will get a character's personality to a 100%!!! (And that's ok cause it's fanfiction and we all have a different approach to the character either emotional or mental) .

Personally for me, the cockyest thing someone can do is to claim to know a character more than the creators themselves. Kinda rude for me, if you ask . Like, sure feeling a deep connection with a character doesn't mean it'll grant us instant access to their whole self. Characters just like us evolve. Either for the good or the bad, but they don't remain the same, so knowing them completely is a big fat lie. Unless stated by the creator. (But we're delusional in this site, so~)

I mean, sure characterization is something we all struggle since we guide ourselves by some of the character's most prominent traits and make them their default personality. (I've sinned in this jsksj so don't worry)

5. HAVE FUN AND TAKE BREAKS. I mean it. The favorite things I've written is where Im genuinely having fun writing it. But also after a well deserved rest. Cause if something doesn't feel right, it won't be right. And burnout is easier to get at than we actually think.

6. I recently started to follow writing advice blogs, one of my favorite @heywriters.

@she-who-fights-and-writes. (They have amazing writing resources, so does Pinterest and YouTube. Seize them!!!)

But yeah, I'm still an amateur on this, I make emphasis in the 5th one tho.

It was night where Nightmare’s castle was. Horror and Dust were out on a mission that Nightmare sent them on, and Killer was sitting on the couch in the living room. He was eating some peanuts and was looking out the window. It was very peaceful for the skeleton (shocking for him I know). Though this peacefulness was ended quickly. Killer wanted to do something… fun. He got up from the couch and started to walk to Nightmare’s office, which was on the second floor of the castle.

He got to the office in a few moments and knocked on the door. Killer heard a gruff noise and assumed that he could come in. He opened the door and saw that Nightmare was sitting at his desk with a book in his hand.

“What do you want, Killer?” asked Nightmare, not taking his eyes off of his book.

“I just want to have some… fun,” said Killer. That’s when Nightmare looked at him in a confused manner.

“What do you mean by ‘fun’? You can do anything that you want in the castle that doesn’t go against the rules,” asked Nightmare. He noticed how Killer got closer to him, but then it dawned on him. Nightmare’s eyes widened as he quickly got up from his desk.

“Do not, Killer, I’m warning you!” Killer just smiled as Nightmare’s tentacles shot at him. He dodged them and pounced onto the other skeleton. Nightmare let out a surprised yelp before falling to the floor. His tentacles were flying everywhere which caused for things to be knocked over, but Killer didn’t care. He had his eyes on the prize, and this prize, well… it was Nightmare’s laughter of course!

Nightmare yelped as Killer dug ten fingers into his boss’s sides. He skittered his fingers up and down, just like how a spider would crawl around. Nightmare bit down on his lip, trying not to laugh. It was working… for the most part. A little muffled giggle would occasionally come out of his mouth, but other than that, he was holding off pretty well. That was, until, Killer flipped him around so that he was on his stomach. Nightmare knew what he was going to do, it was blandly obvious.

“K-Killer, you do this and I swear that I will-“ “You will what, boss, kill me? I don’t think that’ll work when you won’t even be able to move your body,” Killer cut him off before scribbling his fingers all over his lower back. Nightmare instantly bursted out in cackles, and he tried to push killer off of him, but it didn’t work. He couldn’t do anything in this position, it made him feel so weak, so… powerless…

Killer continued to tickle Nightmare shitless, earring an occasional squeak and/or squeal from his boss, which was unlike him, very unlike him.

“KIHIHILLEHER NOHOHAHAHA!” Nightmare laughed. Killer had started to tickle his tentacles, which caused Nightmare’s laughter to go full ballistic

“STOHOHOHAP!”

“Nah, I’m good, I think Imma keep going for a bit longer,” Killer said with a smirk (Nightmare could not see said smirk, but he was for sure that Killer was actually trying not to laugh at him). Nightmare would’ve groaned if he wasn’t laughing his ass off.

Killer hit a particularly bad spot on one of Nightmare’s tentacles, and it caused him to full on scream with laughter.

“OHOKAHAY OHOKAHAY I GIHIVE I GIHIVE I GIHIVE!!” Nightmare said through his laughter. Killer saw this as his time to stop, and so he did. When he stopped, Nightmare was panting and twitching like crazy. When he finally got his composure, Killer got off of him.

“You good boss—“ Killer cut himself off when he saw that Nightmare had fallen asleep. He smiled at his boss, and decided that he should let him get some rest.

I feel like a fraud😭😅 I would die for strifehart honestly, but I am incredibly guilty of not posing about them as much as I would like. So….

Here have some of my Strifehart headcanons:

They don’t show affection very freely around other people but if they fall asleep together on the Couch everyone is always surprised to find out that Squall is the clingy one.

They are both guilty of dad-ing Sora. Squall will hand him money, his keyblade and some extra potions and snacks before he heads out the door; while Cloud will zip up his hoodie, check his gear and do the whole “if you need us you call, Kay?” Sora’s given up trying to point out that they are not his Dads.

They rib each-other endlessly, smirking the entire time. Things like, “gods Squall, why are you so useless?”, “dunno, must have caught it from you!” It always has people asking how they can be a couple.

The loving bullying doesn’t stop when their alone, it’s just more tactile. Poking, hip checking, raspberries, tickle fights, picking the other up and bodily moving them when their in the way, flicking the others nose, aggravated biting, hitting each other with magazines and newspapers when the other isn’t paying attention, play fights. They are like actual children but no one ever sees it cause they like it to just be for them.

They steal each others food all the time. Which is funny because they are both quite territorial about food by nature. This usually ends up in one of them grabbing the others hand and forcibly trying to wrestle the food out of it; or playing keep away with their plates.

They work with eachother silently and like they’ve done it all their lives. They always seem to know where the other is and move accordingly to being in each others space.

Cloud is the only ONLY other person aside from Sora who is aloud to be left alone with Tron. Squall would chew off his own leg before giving DiZ the passwords and while he likes Ienzo he’s still not really sure he trusts him.

They communicate through raised eyebrows alone. And always know what the others thinking.

Cloud has had to physically retrain Squall from beating the shit out of Siefer the first time they went to Twilight town and found out this GROWN ASS ADULT had been bullying kids. (I know canonically Seifer is supposed to be a little older than Hayner pence and Olette but I vibe more with the darkness took Gaia and the planet headcanon than the “everyones from radiant gardens” canon.)

Squall is naturally left handed but was forced to write right handed in in SeeD and so Cloud keeps taking the pen out of his right hand and butting it in Squall’s actual dominant hand.

Cloud carries all his stress in his shoulders and hands (you know exactly where this one’s going.) and Squall is usually the one massaging out the tension and …. Kin- pfft🤣 I’m sorry I cant!

Cloud knows every one of Squalls buttons and how to push them. He can be irritating when it suits him and sometimes he gets bored enough to provoke his partner. Squall usually ignores him which is a mistake because it makes Cloud push harder until he ends up in a headlock.

Squall will never EVER Admit that he gets seriously grouchy when Clouds away. Like it’s adorable but Aerith wants to strangle him most days when he’s skulking about like a lion with a sore tail. It’s incredibly amusing to watch his head snap up when he hears Fenrir pull up outside of Merlin’s.

Okay now, NBC Found startin to bug me. Before I take my hiatus, Imma gone head and get this out after last night’s episode.

One: This coulda been one of the best dark romance couples I’ve seen on tv in a hot minute if they had just aged Gabby up and made Sir’s motives more clear. Like, obviously ya can’t do romance now cause it would be hella weird, but like……he DOES wanna be her partner in EVERY WAY: a parent, a teacher, a…….lover, but…..we’ve already established that can’t be….like, why did we write it this way??

Two: Gabby, girl ain’t you tired of threatening Sir every promo?? Like, find another way to tease the next episode…..(also, actors can only do so much with cringe writing; at some point the acting is gonna get a lil……questionable if the writing is). And, OF COURSE HE BROKE THE CHAIN; we’ve already established he WANTS to be there, but if you gone act reckless, so is he

Three: and perhaps my biggest issue is that…maybe this show shouldn’t be a procedural…..We get too much of those plots (and yet, also not enough, cause it seem like they always solve the cases too quick or that it’s rushed) and not enough of Sir/Gabby…in the present. I appreciate the flashbacks, but I also feel like we need an equal amount of flashbacks (sometimes)/present Sir/Gabby, AND cases and I don’t think we’re getting that. Just a lot of case plot (which, I feel, is why they solve them so quick) and 2-6 minutes of Sir/Gabby working on the case or her dealing with her feelings towards their situation. Separate that time out as equally as ya can to well round the overall story as well as the case of the week.

Of course, just my feelings, but I definitely will be sat for that season finale and already eagerly awaiting 2 lol 😅

Imagine that, after Otis and Foxy bail Baby out, but before they hit the road to Mexico, Baby insists they go to your workplace; [insert restaurant name]. She never forgot you in prison and knows you haven't forgotten her either, regardless if you visited her or not. She wants- no no, she needs to see you before she and her brothers go hide out. It's unclear how this visit will go, all things considering.

Maybe your coworkers will call the police. Maybe she'll have to kill a few assholes. You guys might be able to share one final meal together on your lunch break. You might barely have time for a bye-for-now fuck in the back. Who knows. But all that matters tonight is her walking in through those doors to see you, on the register or on the grill or in the back- wherever your position in the building is- and she gets to see her favorite person in the world for the first time in a long time.

I smile all the time, even when crying I find myself smiling sometimes. All I want is for the people I care about to be happy; and I don't always include myself in that list but I've been getting better at doing so!

Alastor really doesn't care for people in general. If you aren't one of the few he deems good enough, stay out of his way.

That's why he was thrown for a loop when you came along. Is someone so kind and genuine not being scared of him? Who do you think you are?

Alastor is very protective, and though it may take ages to realize he has feelings, he will firmly defend and protect you.

When you and Niffty are hanging out, he feels so proud and almost giddy, an emotion he only feels when murdering normally.

When you fought the Angels, he was in awe of you. Though you needed training from Vaggie, you were fierce and ready to do whatever you could to save your friends.

The first time he snapped at you, he felt horrible, and when you started crying, he was practically a dead man, times two. He spent weeks trying to apologize and make it up to you.

He isn't big on touching or affection, but he shows you he cares in his own way. He is always opening the door for you, cooking for you, and taking you to special events or places.

He supports all your hobbies and interests and even tries to help you find new things to enjoy. This way, when he is busy doing whatever he has to, you are entertained until he returns.

He loves just having lazy days with you in the Radio Tower. There, he can work on his master plans, and you can do whatever to your heart's content.

When he finally accepts he has stronger feelings for you than his regular crew of Mimzy, Rosie, and Niffty, he asks the girls what's happening to him.

They collectively help him confess to you, and when they find out that you two are a lot more similar than they thought, they are thrilled for you two now that you guys have found your person.

You had been working with Niffty on a surprise for Alastor. He had been working hard to take down the Vees and especially hard to piss off Vox after a particularly vile comment he made about you. Niffty was out collecting the materials while you were researching how to make a cape, crown, and scepter. Once everything was rounded up and ready to go, you two got down to some serious work. Building your masterpiece for Alastor was moving along well, and you two couldn't wait to see his face.

Sneaking up to Alastors room, you set up the creation. While you were busy making it look perfect, Niffty distracted Alastor. However, Alastor knew that something was off as soon as you weren't downstairs ready to greet him. Making his way to your location, Niffty did her best to stall the tall man, but it was too late. Luckily, just before the door opened, you had set up the display. You remembered before the battle against the Angels that Niffty had dubbed Alastor 'King Roach'. Alastor was a king in your eyes, so you wanted to show him how you honestly thought of him.

There before Alastor stood a mannequin with a deep red cape adorned with blackthorns, a crown made of black cardboard and gold glitter glue, and lastly, a scepter made out of a large stick and one of Lucifer's rubber ducks that looked like Alastor. The man couldn't help but laugh at the creation in pure enjoyment. As he walked over to start putting on the new outfit, Niffty crawled up your shoulder and perched there waiting. Once King Alastor was officially crowned, he bent down and asked, "May I kiss you, my love?" You nodded gently, and all that was heard after the kiss was a 'blegh' sound from the tiny woman perched on your head.
