REALLY never understood the mentaility of being “that guy” when someone is sexual about something not normal but not “morally dubious”. For this lets use the example of a bug woman, an mantis girl. And they hear someone go “oh man im gonna fuck her and make her a mom” or whatever and clown man goes “well actually mantis females eat their mates”
like not only is that, and what they bring up, the most cookie cutter trivia shit you get off snapple caps, what does it do for you to tell someone that? Let them be horny, it ain’t hurtin no one. BUG PEOPLE ARENT REAL

girl please tips on how to fool someone into giving me a job when mentail illness is choking me nobody wants to hire me lmao they can smell it on me
omg it's so tough bc i feel like it took me ages to even be able to confront job interviews and its definitely way easier said than done. but my main tactic is choosing a character in my head (usually one that is very compatible w the job) and just absolutely going for it lol like go for an oscar w with it. the interviewers truly dont know you or your business LOL reality can be whatever you want it to be. and if you end up somehow messing up you'll never have to see them again anyway! i also practice a lot the night before how im gonna phrase things and how to control my facial features and all that. i use my anxiety as ammunition to get super overly prepared down to the finest detail, i use my depression to help me remember that nothing matters and i dont ultimately care if i dont get the job. getting all the mental illness out of my system early ig lmfao. but honestly just know that, having these struggles doesn't make you any less of a good candidate for the position. obviously it puts a few more obstacles in ur way personally but you are a strong and capable individual who is definitely worth more than shitty companies and sucking capitalist dick, like ur already better than them. the idea that theyre perceiving you as lesser than is probably a projection rooted in ur own insecurities, too. anyway im sorry i know this is like such a shitty thing to have to battle with :( sending you love and luck 💖 manifesting a job for u rn!

We Need More Asian Activism
I know there have been posts and articles like this everywhere, but with the murder of George Floyd I need to talk about this directly at other Asian people (I’m Korean American).
There was an East Asian police officer at the scene where Floyd was murdered, standing silently as Floyd pleaded for his life. He didn’t do anything. Now, some say that this is because he’s a police officer and was following orders, but a hidden aspect to this was the pressure of the “Model Minority” that Asians have adopted in America.
We have become accustomed to serving white people and pretending we are part of them. Ever since white people came to Korea and China and Japan with Christianity and all of its western ideas, ever since Asians immigrated to America for a living, we have trained ourselves to submit to the will of white people. We will side with them against other people of color and we have turned our backs on the people who need our help the most.
That is why there is so much tension between asian people and black and hispanic people. I think back to the 90s in LA, where a Korean shopkeeper shot a black girl, and the riots against Korean businesses that ensued. Asians have adopted the mentaility of the colonizer when they should be siding with the suppressed.
After all, we have become submissive because of the coercive devil’s tongue of white supremacy and colonization. We have told ourselves that, in order to pass through life, we need to bend to the white man.
But we can’t continue to do this. Enough with being the model minority. If you are enraged by anti-chinese sentiments, anti-korean sentiments, anti-japanese sentiments, then get enraged when a black man is murdered. Get pissed off when latino families are separated. Get furious when there is injustice in the world!
If we continue to side-step, bite our tongue, look down upon others, then we are complicit in the subjugation and murder of thousands. We must speak up.
Now, I understand that it’s unfair that one asian is expected to be representative of every single member of their race. It is unfair. We shouldn’t have to feel that we and our whole race is being judged because of something that happens in a far-off country or because of something a horrible human had did.
But guess fucking what? That’s what every other person of color is facing right now. And we have to support them and fight for them. The benefit of being a “model minority” is that white people will listen to you. If we start speaking up and getting enraged, then they perhaps they’ll listen.
And even if they do not, it is better for the oppressed to unite against the oppressor. Injustice puppeted by white privilege plagues our country, and we need to unite to combat it.
Enough is enough. Stop being a model minority. Start being an ally. Stop being complicit and complacent. Start being supportive and help others be heard. We need to be activists, Asians.

   Kurdistan 24    | July 08-2019     11:10 AM
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A delegation of Yezidi (Ezidi) and Christian survivors from the autonomous Kurdistan Region and Iraq participated in a two-week post-trauma course in Israel, addressing the horrific trauma and abuses they suffered at the hands of the Islamic State.
The delegation of about 15 members, most of whom were Ezidis, arrived in Israel late June with the help of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, and were guest of the Bar-Ilan University and the IsraAid humanitarian organization for two weeks, the ministry said on Sunday on its official social media accounts.
Tumblr media
Bar-Ilan University has devoted four years of research on the issue of the Ezidi genocide and other topics to help survivors overcome challenges of reintegration and mentail health.
The arrival of the delegation to the Jewish state surprised many as such visits are highly uncommon since Iraq is formally at war with Israel and is a member of the Arab League, which boycotts Israel. The country has prohibited its passport holders from traveling to Israel.
Iraq and Israel hold no diplomatic, socio-cultural, or economic relations.
Dr. Mirza Dinnayi, a Ezidi doctor and social activist who accompanied the delegation and lives in Germany, is conducting several projects to help the women and children who survived Islamic State captivity.
“The whole issue of psychological treatment is very uncommon in Iraq, like in other Arab countries. There’s roughly one psychologist or social worker for every 300,000 people in Iraq. Therefore, we have to use what we have,” Dinnayi told Haaretz.
The survivors traveled from Germany, where they currently live and are part of a special rehabilitation program for 1,100 women and children who survived the terrorist group’s horrors.
The emergence of the Islamic State in Iraq and its violent assault on Shingal in 2014 led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Ezidis. Most of them fled to the Kurdistan Region, while others resettled in neighboring countries in the region or Western states.
Others were not as lucky and remained stranded in the war zone, where they experienced atrocities and mass executions at the hands of the extremist group for years. Militants subjected women and girls to sexual slavery, kidnapped children, forced religious conversions, executed scores of men, and abused, sold, and trafficked women and girls across areas they controlled in Iraq and Syria.T
Before the 2014 attack, there were roughly 550,000 Ezidis in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. As the militants took over large swaths of territory in Nineveh province, 360,000 Ezidis escaped and found refuge elsewhere, according to the Kurdistan Region’s Ezidi Rescue Office.
According to official numbers from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), the number of Ezidis freed from the Islamic State since 2014 has reached over 3,300, but some 6,284 Ezidis were kidnapped, among them 3,467 women and 2,717 men.

the magic of figuring out your 'why'
why should you find your why?
what gets you out of bed? why do you study? what is really pushing you to push yourself? finding your purpose in life can help you learn more about yourself and more about where you want to go in life. i don't know about you, but getting all 'a' grades would not be worth it if i only got the grades for the sake of it. i get 'a' grades so that i set myself up well for my future and give myself the best chances.
your purpose shapes your legacy and leaves a lasting impact on the world. it defines you and what you stand for.
understanding your purpose promotes healthiness and positive well-being. people with purpose also tend to practice healthier habits such as regular exercise, balanced nutrition and less sedentary behaviours.
how do you find your why?
identify who you want to be (your goals). reflect on the things that matter to you. a prompt to uncover this is to imagine what you would do with your life if you had nothing stopping you. alternitavely, you can visualise what you would change about the world/how you would contribute to the world without any restrictions.
listen to feedback. pay attention to what others say about your strengths, talents, and impact. sometimes external perspectives reveal aspects of your purpose. be careful not to let yourself be influenced into a purpose that will not truly fulfil you.
what do you do once you've figured out your why?
remember that your why is not ridgid! as you grow and change, your purpose will grow and change with you.
once you understand your why, it is important to begin moving forward,, closer towards your higher self and purpose. to do this, set realistic goals that align with your purpose. address your fears and work to overcome them, since fears can and will hold you back.
something that i will always preach to achieve any goals is building a community. whether it's online (like this blog), you and one friend or a whole organised group, surrounding yourself with a positive culture that reinforces where you want to be will motivate you and assist you in succeeding.
❤️
i hope this post helps anyone who may feel lost. lots of love! joanne.

how to properly wash your face
this post is a bit of a spinoff from my last post, 'how you can reduce acne'. read it here.
now, properly washing your face has many benefits, such as:
removing buildup washing your face clears away dirt, oil and other unwanted debris, preventing clogged pores and acne breakouts.
boosting hydration regular cleansing can help to maintain proper hydration levels, which keeps the skin smooth.
maintaining clear skin it helps to manage the production of sebum and supports proper pore size, contributing to clearer skin.
enhancing the effectiveness of products clean skin allows for better absorption of skincare products like moisturizers and treatments.
promoting healthy skin by removing impurities and maintaining hydration, face washing contributes to overall skin health.
here's some steps, how to properly wash your face:
start by removing any makeup with a gentle makeup remover or micellar water. it's important to remove makeup because clean skin absorbs skincare products better, making them more effective. never, and i repeat NEVER wear makeup to bed. this will lead to breakouts and acne. your skin needs time to breathe.
2. wet your face with warm water. using hot water can strip your skin of natural oils and cold water isn't as effective at cleaning.
3. use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser suitable for your skin type and apply it to your face in a circular motion. make sure to be gentle. avoid scrubbing your skin harshly as this can cause irritation.
4. rinse off the cleanser completely with warm water.
5. pat your face dry with a clean towel. i use a face washer (which is like a tiny, thin towel) and change it every 2-3 uses. do not rub when you are drying your face, as this can irritate the skin.
6. apply a moisturizer suitable for your skin type to keep your skin hydrated. personally, i only use moisturizer in the mornings, mixing it with my sunscreen. at nighttime, i prefer to just wash my face and if i have pimples, i will apply a spot treatment.

how to reduce acne (and what is acne)
acne is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. it typically results in whiteheads, blackheads or pimples that can appear on the face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders. acne is most prevalent among teens but can affect people of all ages. several factors contribute to acne, such as excess oil production, buildup of dead skin cells, bacterial growth and inflammation.
acne is not inherently 'bad' but it is a source of discomfort for many people. while acne itself is not a bad thing, it can lead to potential complications if not managed properly, such as scarring or emotional distress.
when reading this post, it is important to remember that everyone's skin is different and what works for one person may not work for another. i'd like to add that i am not a dermatologist, and this post is written with my own experience in mind as well as research online.
reducing acne involves a combination of skincare practices and lifestyle adjustments. here are some recommended actions:
properly wash your face cleanse your face twice daily to remove excess oil, sweat and dirt. some common face washing mistakes include using the wrong cleanser, over-washing your face, under-washing your face, the wrong water temperature and using a dirty washcloth. don't worry if this all seems confusing, here's a post on how to properly wash your face.
know your skin type use products suitable for your skin type only--oily, dry, combination or sensitive. you can find this out by visiting a dermatologist or (alternatively) researching the skin types and seeing which best matches your skin.
moisturise moisturiser curbs dryness, which balances oil production in your face and therefore helps to prevent acne. choose a non-comedogenic moisturiser to not clog your pores.
consider over-the-counter treatments think about acne treatments with ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
stay hydrated drink plenty of water to maintain skin hydration. good hydration helps to maintain skin elasticity, supports the skin's protective functions and prevents sunburn, sensitivity and oiliness. women should drink about 2.7L of fluids every day (including water, other beverages and food).
limit makeup use minimal makeup and ensure that it is non-comedogenic. don't stop wearing makeup if it is something you enjoy, however, try to limit it in acne-strong areas.
don't touch your face this is a big one, and yet so many people do it. keep your hands away from your face to prevent the spread of bacteria. seriously, you use your hands for so much--you don't want the germs of everything you've touched on your face.
limit sun exposure protect your skin with appropriate sunscreen. and remember to re-apply! limiting sun exposure also reduces skin cancer risk. balance is key, though, because the sun is necessary for vitamin d production and maintaining circadian rhythms.
exercise regularly physical activity can help reduce stress, which may contribute to acne.
enjoy a healthy diet eating a well-balanced diet can support skin health. consider reducing dairy and high glycemic foods. a diet with a low glycemic index may help balance hormone levels, which is the same effect when insulin spikes occur less. essential nutrients promote skin health and help to repair and maintain the skin barrier.
invest in stress management find ways to reduce stress, such as journaling or going for a walk. stress can worsen acne. this is because, under stress, the body's healing process slows down, meaning acne can take longer to heal and become more severe. stress hormones can also increase oil production, leading to clogged pores.
