a lil mix of both 🤔 I originally drew eeljima for MerMay and was gonna leave it at that but I got really attached to the idea of kiryu and his dumb fish boyfriend so I rolled with it kdlsjfddsf. I got a few ideas tho 👀

majima's an eel - nothing specific but I leaned to electric since the rpg games give him electricity as an element. also, knifefish (what a coincidentally convenient name 👀) have spots that remind me of his snake's spots so that fit well with his overall theme plus they're related to eels so even better >:D saejima's also a fishdude, a grouper specifically because they're huge and chonky but also gentle uwu

kiryu's a silly lil fisherman guy, one of them commercial types that goes out on a boat to get big hauls. nishiki's there too being the saddest wettest little beast. other characters make up part of the crew in similar ways the canon families are set up. so like kazama and kashiwagi for example are captains of the crew

I have thought about if they were fish too if I wanted to do a branching AU of this and kiryu could maybe be a thresher shark - because they got that big slappy tail but also their huge beautiful eyes™. OR a betta fish because I think the colors would really compliment his heat colors. nishiki can be a koi because of course

kiryu and nishiki live in a lil shack on the shore. nishiki hates it but kiryu likes the simplicity and being close to work. nishiki would move closer to the city but frankly all the haircare product he buys is so obscene that he can't afford a place on his own ✌

majima and saejima (+ yasuko) live in some nearby kelp forests/coral reefs. merfolk tend to stay away from humans and live further out in the ocean, deeper underwater but these three take advantage of all commercial fishing going on to get some easy food. but being so close to fishing trawlers, this leads to majima getting caught in a discarded net, being trapped and beached where kiryu finds him 👀

merfolk can breath air and go on land but it is as awkward as you can imagine. when majima hangs out with kiryu, kiryu drags him up the beach to enough dry land where the tide isn't a problem. merfolk do have to be moisturized often so majima's either doused with a bucket of water or gets a big ass lathering of lotion. whether or not that'd actually be realistic doesn't matter to me I just think it'd be funny for nishiki to be very suspect of the comical amount of lotion kiryu suddenly starts buying

majima's fav thing to do with kiryu is have him fry up some fish since he's never had cooked food before and thinks it's the bee's knees. kiryu will often go into town to buy all sorts of things for majima to try or majima will catch some wack fish from who knows where for kiryu to fry up. they pick secluded beaches as not to be disturbed but kiryu is ready to fling majima into the ocean at a moment's notice just in case

majima has a second set of jaws normally not visible unless he's snacking on a fish. sometimes he pops em out for a smooch and kiryu is wary but willing to try anything 😤 nishiki is often very worried about the numerous weird bite marks kiryu comes home with but kiryu chalks it up to clumsily falling face first into some coral. you can tell by now I'm very into the trope of person dating a cretur is very bad at keeping it a secret dsklgjk

majima tends to have electrical flare ups when he's feeling emotional so kiryu ends up getting zapped a lot. it's not enough to be dangerous but kiryu has since avoided touching light switches and makes nishiki use them first

rarely kiryu will take majima out on the town in a wheelbarrow covered in a blanket and everyone's like *squint* but eventually gets used to his funny lil friend who seems fascinated by literally everything

there's defo some tigerfish action at a later point once nishiki eventually decides to follow kiryu to one of his little secret beachside escapades to not only find out kiryu's being a weirdo as usual but now with a weirdo fishguy. on the other side, saejima is eventually convinced that there is not a bunch of people on the shore waiting with harpoons and nets and joins majima for one of kiryu's fish fries and finds out hey maybe humans ain't so bad if they can put up with majima for more than five minutes

A menace of the highest degree, whose sole purpose in life sometimes seemed to be making you burst a vein with irritation.

A menace who was holding out a bouquet of roses for you, trying to act nonchalant even as his cheeks were tinted a soft red. His eyes were hidden by his sunglasses, but you had no doubt that they were focused on you and your reaction.

"What's this?" You hummed, taking the bouquet and cradling it in your arms. For something that looked so elegant and dainty it sure was heavy, and you were wondering how long Ace had stood outside Ramshackle with them before finally ringing the bell.

Ace cleared his throat, breaking you out of your reverie. He looked effortlessly stylish in everything he wore, but it seemed like he had taken special care with his appearance for today. If he'd given you a warning, maybe you'd have changed into something nicer than your pajamas...

"I, um, I came here to ask you something," he said, voice somber as if he was going to give you bad news. 'But who gives bad news with a bouquet of roses?' You thought to yourself, pushing down the part of you that was ready to overthink the smallest of incidents. You nodded to him to continue.

"Will... uh, will you be m-my Valentine this year?" He trailed off at the end of his sentence, voice breaking slightly. You blinked.

"Your Valentine?"

Ace made a face of indignation at your question. "Oh no, I was actually speaking on behalf of Deuce. Look, there he is, right where you left your last braincell," he huffed, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Are you trying to make me say no?" You asked, narrowing your eyes at him. Shifting the bouquet to one hand, you acted as if you were going to close the door with him still outside. Not that you actually would, but it was still fun to see his eyes widen comically at your action, hand shooting out to stall for time.

"Wait, no that– don't take everything so seriously," he whined, holding the door to stop you from shutting it in his face. You rolled your eyes at his dramatics, letting go of the door but turning and making your way inside. With your back turned to him, you smiled.

"Come in and help me find a vase for these roses," you said, and Ace followed you obediently, refraining from making any other sarcastic remarks that would have him stand outside the house as though he were in timeout for misbehaving.

Once you found a vase big enough to hold all the roses, you filled it with water. As you placed the flowers in it, you felt two strong arms circling your waist and a weight settling on your shoulder.

"So... be my valentine?" He asked again, voice slightly muffled against your shoulder.

"Give me one good reason to be your valentine," you hummed, not relenting even as Ace whined about you being unfair to him, he got you roses, how could you be so cruel—

Every indignant rise and fall of his voice had the smile on your lips growing and the urge to burst out laughing increasing. You bit your lip to stifle your amusement, but he caught it anyways.

"You little– you were trying to make me beg for it, huh?" He accused you, voice playful as he poked your sides. A peal of laughter left you as you tried to dodge his pokes, your hands swatting at his.

"Stop it!"

"Not until you say yes!"

Breaking free from his hold, you ran to the living room, your giggles filling the air as Ace followed, hot on your trail. You were fast, but Ace was faster, and you blamed hisbeing a member of the basketball club for him managing to foil all your attempts at getting away.

Pinned under him on the couch, you squirmed as he continued tickling you. Laughter left you both breathless and red in the face, and you wheezed when Ace decided to flop on top of you, his weight pressing your body down against the couch.

You hit him lightly at his shoulder. "Get off, you're heavy!"

"Nope. That's what you get for being a brat and trying to make me beg for you to be my valentine when you and I both know your answer'd be yes."

I’d like to see kit and Eloras friendship still be a little rocky but continue to develop. I don’t want them to so starkly go from hating each other to being besties.

I really wanna see more of the twins relationship because honestly I really didn’t buy Airks character in season 1. I completely forgot the quest was about saving him. So I think if they move away from a romance arc with Elora and instead develop kit and his relationship it’ll make him a much more compelling character to me.

I’d also like to see jade and Airk interact, because I feel like jade has been important enough to kits life that at this point he sees her as another sister. I also feel like their relationship is combative as hell and it’ll be so funny.

I’d kinda like to see kit come out to Airk or Sorsha or both. With Airk it would be a funny moment because he’d be like “yeah no shit. You and Jade are not subtle.” then with Sorsha I really need a moment where Sorsha finally sees kit for who she is and acknowledges it not in a hallucination.

Just the whole dark Graydon arch. I think it’s gonna be so good, but they need to save him because him and Elora are end game. I will be upset if Elora ends up with Airk. Also it sets up a possible redemption arc if they save him and I’m a slut for redemption arc’s.

I need to know if Mims is okay. Because I feel like their foreshadowing a burning of the shire situation but That might be too dark for Disney. it could have also been willows doubt and the crone trying to make him afraid. I do think the burning of the shire is more narratively significant tho.

hobie never worried too much about it but miles did . he managed and used it more as a conversation starter though

until post collider , where (according to miguel) miles basicallly still left an inter dimension opening which caused their marks to show up

cue confusion . and like let's say like directly after rescuing miles from 42 hobie is looking him over for any major damage (he knows he'll be fine but he asked to . for peace of heart) and he notices the soul mark !! and they all talk about it and figure it out . and everything ends up fine with The Plot cue first dates + domestic fluff

then the whole earth-42 debacle. miles is definitely in a beat up state so he asks to help him put himself together (because for some odd reason it worried him) and thats when he sees the mark, and how it mirrors his own.

immediately he understood why they clicked so well. he wasn’t sure how to break the news to miles, but he decided to just be straightforward.

It’s time for music headcanons with the batfam, bc if I don’t get this out of my head and onto page, I’m going to implode.

Fave first, Dick is definitely a indie pop/indie rock kinda boy. Not just because I identify with that, but also bc he gives me those overly energetic, bubbly vibes, that I feel like only come from Grouplove, Vampire Weekend, and Adam Melchor. I also feel like he’s a Mitski and Boygenius kinda bitch, bc ough, boY, he has angst. Said angst can only be expressed through sad girl music, bc he will die before he ever expresses his feelings about anything to anyone.

NEXT we have Jason, I think he’s an emo ass boy, ngl, but specifically like folk punk. He listened to twin sized mattress one time, broke down crying, and hasn’t looked back. Also things like The Mountain Goats, PUP, or Modern Baseball. Ugh, I could make a whole ass playlist for this boy. If he’s with other ppl, I think he’d play something more mainstream of the emo genres, like Arctic Monkeys or The Strokes.

DAMIAN, I THINK, IS COMPLICATED. So, for one thing, he grew up in a weirdo environment, where they probably never listened to music, and if they did, it was “”tasteful”” music, for rich ppl. That, or it was culturally significant. So, I think I’m his exposure to music after moving in with Bruce, he started just absorbing absolutely all the music he could. Like, he’s an everything enjoyer. His spotify liked songs are a minefield, bc one second it’ll be playing Chet Baker, next it’s Viagra Boys, then some country shit, then Chopin, and then it’s Lil Nas X.

BABS, I think, would be a folk music/sad girl music enthusiast. She really likes Ryan Adams, Phoebe Bridgers, Hoizer, Mitski, etc. It’s something that she and Dick bonded over when they first started dating. I think with her, she appreciates the calm/slightly sad music bc she lives in a rlly crazy world, and she just wants to meditate a little when she’s sitting at that desk all day, trying to keep her family and friends alive.

Timmyyyyyy is a Kpop enjoyer. Sorry, I don’t make the rules. Specifically, he probably likes SEVENTEEN or ATEEZ a lot. He actively tries, every day of his life, to not stan any of the members, but it’s rlly hard when he’s had two hours of sleep in the past week, and Yoon was just really cute in that last interview. I also think he’s really into trap and pop. He knows all the lyrics to every recent song on the top 100 list.

Duke, I think is really into R&B. I think he’s amenable to pop/rock/rap, etc., but he really just wants something to belt out. Common occurrences are finding him in the kitchen, making an omelette, singing Amy Winehouse at the top of his lungs. If u catch him doing it tho, he gets rlly shy. His guilty pleasure is theatre music. He has to bribe his family to go see Little Shop of Horrors with him.

Stephanie has a 2000s-2010s pop addiction. Anything that makes her feel like Hannah Montana is her SHIT. She’s out here blasting Bubblegum Bitch and early Taylor Swift. You also can and will find her crying to sad One Direction songs. When she’s moody, she will unironically play My Chemical Romance. She understands pop punk a lil bit, but the lyrics tend to get male-manipulator-y, so she sticks with the bands she already knows.

Alfred likes 50s/60s jazz/pop. Frank Sinatra, Chet Baker, etc. It reminds him of home, and of his family. He also really likes old French music, like Joe Dassin. I’m ngl, I don’t know old music enough to add more to this one, but u get the idea 😭

BRUCE. Ugh. He’s definitely the kind of dad who never moved past the music of his childhood. He firmly believes that the Beatles is the best band of all time, and no one can convince him otherwise. I think he tends to gravitate towards the rock/goth end of 70s/80s music, so things like the Cure, New Order, maybe a lil bit of Siouxsie and the Banshees. His goth phase was INTENSE, Alfred can attest to this.

Ok, Cass is defo a similar situation to Damian, grew up with literally silence, so music is a super new thing to her. But I think she really enjoys all kinds of genres. I think she also likes to “sing” along to said instrumentals, but mostly it’s just making noises to the same beat and sound, but it’s very off-key.

Remus tends to come the easiest to me, I think because he's rather consistent and also versatile, he's always felt complex enough to me to be in many scenarios without it feeling ooc

Sirius I think I also have a pretty clear picture of most of the time, but he also has a bit more rigid of a personality so I can't always just cram him into any scene and make it work

James (the marauders are my top three haha, who's surprised) I love writing for so much, but I think my original idea of him was actually quite oversimplified, so sometimes I still struggle to put his flaws under a magnifying scope and make him display them

Steve is fun because I think he can change a lot depending on how comfortable he is in his relationships, so I like to play with how he acts at the beginning of a relationship versus deep in domesticity

tasm Peter is just my soft funny sweetheart, I don't know how my characterization of him came to feel so solid honestly considering there aren't that many films but his lightness is fun to write and he's also just so sweet

Lily I feel like I'm still getting to know, I love writing her when an idea feels right but she's not instictive to me yet, probably in large part because she's not included in lots of the marauders media I consume (patriarchy amiright (also my fault)) and also just because similarly to James I've sometimes struggled to separate her from the oversimplified version of her character that I was initially introduced to

Spencer is so much fun because he's so unique, but I think that sometimes also makes me doubt whether I'm portraying him accurately. Sometimes I have to watch the show to remember how exactly he speaks haha, and also picturing him in a years-long relationship where he's totally domestic is another thing entirely

Carmy I also think is this very complex and unique character, who I also sometimes have to recall specific parts of the show to feel like I'm getting right

Robin is sososo cool and I want to write more of her but I do struggle to write her as fully comfortable because her character can be so (adorably) awkward and that's hard for me to balance with her being at ease

Eddie gives me such a hard time lately, I think I was maybe feeling more solid about him when I started writing on here and I still like him a lot but we got so little of him in the show that I often doubt whether I'm drawing on anything real

just read chapter 153 and then your thoughts on it and. i am chewing. screaming. hikaru kamiki, the (absolute traumatized disaster of a) man that you are. that entire chapter immediately catapulted him into the spot of one of my faves (tho tbf, i love all onk characters)

also, while reading your thoughts, specifically the part about aqua/ai and ruby/hikaru parallels,,, if those are on purpose/meant to foreshadow things,,, that would bring up the possibility that, uh, ruby might pull a hikaru on aqua, so to speak. i mean, it's conjecture on my part, i could be wrong, but, uh. the signs. they are certainly there. maybe i'm misreading them. but they're there.

HE'S SOOOOO UNWELL... I've been prodding and poking at The Idea of kamiki basically since we started getting concrete info about him so seeing a lot of the stuff I'd been hoping would be the case re: his characterization and relationship with Ai actually turn out to be true has been soooooo satisfying. As disappointed as I am it took us this long to actually get around to dealing with him, I defo agree he is Up There in terms of OnK characters I'm having a ton of fun rotating. I just love it when an anime dilf is evil and mentally ill.

AS FOR WOOBY... I definitely think this is foreshadowing for where the AquRuby drama is going to go, in that we're gearing up for her to be hit with an 'I can't love you the way you want me to love you' truthbomb like Kamiki was from Ai. We'll probably get an Oshi no Joker moment from her but I think she'll ultimately come out of it a lot stronger, accepting that even if Gorou -> Aqua can't love her the way she's clung onto, he's still here and he does still love her - as do all the other people in her life.

In general, a lot of these generational parallels between Ai's social circle and the main cast are about correcting for the mistakes that the prior generation made - how, uh, effectively this is actually pulled off when it comes to B-Komachi is definitely YMMV (i love ruby but she is god's most annoying nepobaby and she doesn't even know it) but it feels pretty obvious to me that this is being telegraphed with the Hikaru parallels, especially with the really heavy handed Moving On Towards The Future theme that's been hammered in the last few chapters.

I am a fan of many things! including very much those two things! I'm always happy to share my thoughts, even though I never really have on this account! naruto I was first a fan of like... when I was... uh, maybe six or seven years old? one of those things you just glomp onto, like do you EVER get over the fictional media you create original characters for as an eight year old to play out convoluted storylines with your friends?? obviously not. I had one of those headbands with the crossed out symbol outlaw-style and, like, a bag that's the gaara sand gourd, so proper edge lord eight year old stuff. (I do feel like gaara got insane prop in my friend group, he was definitely the most popular character. like my best friend was playing a very obvious gaara-expy. I was also big on temari as I too was the token girl). anyway say what you will about how 'good' that series is, the character design does go CRAZY like it's just banger after banger concept. even shippuden, where I'm deeply meh about most of the actual story, introduces much of the akatsuki and they're all just. such banger characters. luv them. great for fic too, like there's so much to explore in that world that canon did.... maybe not do so.....

the untamed I've also now been into for a while!! 2020 I think I got into it? watched the show, read the book, watched most of the animated show, have also read the other books by the author... the specific characters I'm into are. uh. divisive in certain corners of fandom, and I have seen plenty from the trenches of the discourse. but the actual source material slaps! got anymore blitzbee hc or aus?

Well, there is many thing i can incorporate BlitzBee into- and i do, it's my main ship and OTP.

Warframe!Bumblebee, Civil!Blitzwing and Cons Are Good AUs are the ones specifically for BlitzBee.

Part-Insecticon!Bee can also be BlitzBee. Crack AU also cna have osme romance going on. Cyberbeast AU is also a BlitzBee possibility.

I cna give you some stuff relating to either one of those of just plain on non-AU timeline i have.

Blitz loves to sculpt figurines of Bee, he especially enjoys carving out the little horns and eyes on the figurine and giving it that innocent yet divilish look. Of course, he always keeps that smirk on his faceplate when he's sculpting his aft or alt-mode's undercarriage.

Bee will never admit but he wants to be squished by Blitzwing. He's into it more than he likes but he just cannot deny the satisfacition and comfort and maybe pleasure of being pressed against his berth while Blitz lays on top of him full weight. This is the best type of cuddle they discovered so far.

In Part-Insecticon!Bee AU, Blitz helped Bee with therapy to regain control over his broken wings- he'd rub his back and massage some places if he was sore after therapy. Bee was ashamed of having his wings out like that, Blitzwing had very impressive and strong wings, he almost felt unworthy of showing what little he had to offer in return. He voiced it at some point when Blitz noticed he was sad and told him he'd love him no matter what and that wings or not don't matter. He didn't need them to make Blitz swoon for him and it won't change.

Warframe!Bee AU, Bee will defo sing viking-like songs be it from games or not. He likes to sing Skyrim's Dragonborn song when he's forging. Blitzwing will occasionally join him and they'll have fun, although Blitz can't sing for slag. He and Bee will also dance a lot- Be it slow dancing, normal boogie-woogie moving or a couple's dance. They love to dance to "For The Dancing And The Dreaming".

Whenever Optimus bakes something for the group. Bee makes sure he hides some of the treats to give to Blitzwing later. Blitz doesn't have access to any treats or fancy food except oil and some 'natural' rust sticks found in the scrap yard, so he loves when his hummel brings him something different to eat.

BlitzBee loves kisses, it's a human custom but a very enjoyable one. As one would assume they have their own version of french kiss, where Blitz would switch to his black face and shove his wormy glossa down Bee's intake. (Lucky Bee doesn't have a gag reflex cuz he ate whatever he found in trash as a Sparkling) Sometimes when Blitz is annoyed and rants about stuff Bee will leave a trail of kisses on his cheek before kissing him on the derma, which usually ends up in a make-out session and makes Blitz forget he was even upset.

Bee is very crafty, so if Blitzwing makes him figurines and sculptures of stuff ya know he's gonna return the favor. He takes broken glass, some scraps and wires and makes pretty little flowers out of them. He could even pull off stained glass picture if he really tried.

CUDDLES. Just that. They do it all the time. Literally the moment they see each other- instant hugs and cuddles. If Blitz is part of Autobot team, it's cuddles 24/7. He will not let go of Bee unless Bee really wants to. Blitz will hold Bee hostage in their berth when he wakes up at crack of dawn and make him wait for Blitz to wake up around 10. If he was repulsed to touch due to trauma before, now he can't let go.

Blitz will never tell his hummel he talks in his recharge. He'd be trying to fall into recharge himself when he hears murmurs coming from his beloved. It's so amusing, he will talk to him and actually get semi-coherent answers. He loves that if he hums, Bee will also start humming. It's like a midnight radio that he can interact with til he falls into recharge. It's also surprising cuz it apparently works to keep the nightmares away from Bee. If Bee starts to sound panicked Blitz would comfort him and he'll go back to resting peacefully.

Ahhhh thank you anon ;o; I really appreciate it and im gonna do my best this Alabama weather I think is messing me up it's been so bad ;o;

And oooh I defo have some thoughts on how some of my boys handle being sick!

Emile being half alien when he catches illnesses he tends to handle them more intensely than someone else would like a common cold is more like a flu to him and he is prone to fever talking. The amount of times a feverish Emile has told his best friend that he wants to snuggle with him for all eternity and being extra goofy and mushy only to find out when he is better how he was is numerous. He defo apologizes a whole bunch after that because he is incredibly embarrassed to the point he will blush and cover his face just thinking about it. He has also gotten on stream when he is sick before and those are the times when there was belly shown on the streams (he didn't stream for a week once before when that happened) it's sorta become a running joke in his streaming community after that happened. Tbh Emile really hates getting sick because he does make a fool out of himself when he talks. Another thing he is prone to doing when he is sick is wandering and like curling up asleep in a bush or something while he is recovering the species of alien that he is on their home planet they often when sick go and rest in medicinal meadows that are full of plants and bushes that ease sickness and its kind of an instinct of Emile's to go and seek out a dew laden bush or a very sweet flowering one and curl up in it like a cat finding a good spot to rest. He defo has been found in bushes like that before and probably needed to be taken to a doctor or to home (Emile is prone to bush shenanigans tbh lol) Also a kind of cute thing (at least I think so) is Emile has this kind of purr that he does when he is sick its a bit more raspy sounding and tends to happen when he gets a fever and goes on his little talking tangents especially when it's to one of his friends.

Eddie handling sickness is rough because he is an android he is prone to computer related viruses too and those tend to mess with a lot of his functions. Eddie has definitely gotten infected with a bunch of random things and when he gets a computer virus or infection they often times affect how sensitive his components are. He can have viruses that for example make his limbs act all out of sorts to where he struggles to get the motors to function properly and needs to get that dealt with or it locks up his GPS to the point where he is lost for a while till he can sort it out. Like any number of things can happen to him in addition to getting certain human like viruses (on his planet androids with organic components can get sick but they are different strains and variants) so Eddie is prone to those types of illnesses too and being as he is a prototype his immune system is not the greatest at handling the illnesses so when he gets sick it tends to make him need a lot of rest to recover maybe even a complete reset of his mechanics to get back to being 100 percent. His most common sickness (if you count this) is nausea from his digestive issues and those are daily so he struggles with nausea often his go to are ginger chews (even if he has digestive issues he has found those do more help than harm) and also these android specific remedy chips that he an buy at local parts places they are universal so even if he is a prototype he can get medicines just has to be sure they are universal. Eddie though his favorite thing to do when sick is curl up on the couch with some stuffies and wait it out till he feels better.

Havenezra despite being a vampire has a sort of sickness but its more a reaction to not getting proper blood. He is very prone to skipping feedings to not blow his cover as not only a vampire but in any sort of shenanigans he gets up to with robberies or smuggling something but going a long while without feeding tends to make him become very very agitated and animalistic. He loses himself a bit to the hunger and will go and randomly feed on anything he can find at that point this has happened very rarely but when it does he blacks out in a sense and wakes up full but also unaware of what he has done. He has definitely raided livestock barns before and been unaware of it till he woke up in the barn amongst the aftermath. His pregnancy because of the nature of the creature he is carrying has an adverse affect on him the creature tends to cause him to have a pretty nasty cough because it produces a type of ichor that isn't the most compatible with Havenezra's body and because Havenezra is technically dead it doesn't exactly cause the side affects it would if he was living his more so manifests as raspy breathing and a cough because a lot of the ichor accumulates in his lungs and because hes dead they don't function like a normal humans so it just leads to him always having a cough and a raspy throat/voice. It's not exactly an illness but most do ask if he is coming down with something when they hear how he sounds or coughs. Havenezra doesn't exactly have any cures for when he is sick with the ichor but a warm cup of broth of any sort is a go too and if he can stomach it some coffee (though that isn't exactly great when you have something like what he is carrying inside him ;v; )

Gabriel is only sick when in the process of healing land that he is sent to heal. And depending on the situation he will have different symptoms like say he is sent to restore a forest that has burnt down he will have lung and respiratory issues until he has healed it (aka as long as it takes for him to carry and give birth to the new guardians of sed area) destroyed water and the like tend to manifest as issues with balance and or terrible sinus pressures etc. There really isn't any treatment for this sort of situation only for him to do what he can before the guardians are born. He has a limited ability to use some of his energy to heal what he can and that means taking walks about the territory to let his natural aura and energy seep into the earth to heal it but also any sort of wisps or souls that once belonged there can be given new life in that way as like flowers or plants that need to grow there. Gabriel can also feed off of blood to enhance these powers but he often refuses to do this even if it wont hurt anything he feeds off of it's more so he doesn't wish to rely on something that he feels is wrong when he was turned into the type of angel he is now. He would rather use his own limited aura and power than harvest and repurpose something from other living beings. But Gabriel handles sickness as best he can and the more he can do prior to the birth of new guardians for the area that needs healing the better he will feel though sometimes it's a lot harder on him than other times especially when the damage is far larger than he could have predicted

Ahhh I think this just became a ramble on some of my boys sicknesses and how they handle them too but I hope it makes sense ;v; I had a lot of fun thinking about this though tbh and it defo helped distract from the aches so thank you so much anon I really appreciate the ask and the well wishes <3

I know I said this before but I don't know if I made it specifically clear

I think I'd personally prefer it if they did away with genres such as "shounen-ai", "yaoi", "shoujo-ai" and "yuri"

Ok maybe not yaoi and yuri since they're implied to be explicit, but the other two, defo. Or what they're more commonly known as, Boys Love (BL) or Girls Love (GL)

Now with me, personally, if I'm told by the show what to ship, there's a high chance I wont ship it. There's canon couples I do support don't get me wrong (Inuyasha/Kagome, Eren/Mikasa, Tomoe/Nanami, etc), but I wont go out of my way to look into them. Also, one of those pairings is not like the other. Inuyasha/Kagome and Tomoe/Nanami are implied from the start and they are both a part of an anime with the Romance genre attached, and so I know what those shows are leading up to. However, Eren/Mikasa would be an example of one that is not. Attack on Titan does not have a Romance genre. But not having a Romance genre doesn't mean there is no Romance. It's just not a central theme.

And tbh, that's my personal preference. To not be told from the start that this ship is endgame. I want to be surprised when I watch an anime and see a couple develop a relationship through chemistry, trust, understanding, etc. Meruem/Komugi came out of an anime where Romance is basically non-existent and defo not a genre, and its definitely implied Romance, they fell in love, 100%. In a non-Romance anime. That's my fave!!!

I rarely rarely go looking into the Romance genre. I'm more of an action-gal, and I'm happy to have Romance attached in some way.

Now in terms of BL...

Shounen-Ai/BL is also a Romance genre (basically just translated to "Gay Romance"). And I've seen a few BL's where absolutely nothing has happened between the male characters, despite the label. I haven't seen Togainu no Chi in well over 10 years but I'm almost positive no male characters even hugged. And there's more like that, despite the BL label.

But anyway. Bc you know it has that BL genre, the whole time you're basically waiting on at least a kiss. And when you don't get it, you're highly disappointed in the whole anime and feel like you were conned into believing there was a Romance when there wasn't. And its just confusing, bc you're wondering if that genre should even be there.

But that's the thing, your expectations are high because the genre is telling you "these two characters will be together by the end" or "at least be heavily implied", and like any het romance anime that tells you its a romance anime, and the main characters kiss by the end or are implied to be together or on the way to getting together, you are expecting the two males leads in a BL to kiss by the end or at least have something romantic between them. And when they don't, and you're like, "why is this even called shounen-ai??? all they did is hug! friends do that!" --- is why they should just do away with the label.

My preference, like I said, is to go into an anime not labelled with Romance but then find a Romance. Like HxH or Attack on Titan.

If we take Starmyu, as an example:

These aren't wrong. These are the central themes.

However, the plot is heavily based around this sentence:

The show is two things. Its based around attending a musical academy in hopes of becoming a singer, actor, stage performer, whatever. And its also based around the main character, in a way, "seeking out" a student from the academy that inspired him a few years beforehand. He doesn't exactly try his best to seek out that student, but talks about him a lot.

And that's fine. Nothing too gay there lmao

But... between that all happening, there's a lot implied, that I'll prob do in a different post, but then girls and girlfriends are brought up and its like "ah... so the 'gay' moments are just fanservice. these characters are all prob straight" and you dont feel too much about it because, duh-duh-duh-duuuuuun---

BL isn't a genre for this anime. Neither is romance. You're not expecting anything.

You. Have. No. Expectations.

But here's the thing!!!

You can go into HxH or Attack on Titan with no Romance expectations due to lack of label, and still find a Romance in there, like I said! And they're canon af, not just shipping fodder, actual canon!

There's actually quite a bit of romance in my fave anime, Durarara and yet here are the genres:

So its like, why do I have to know the genre is BL to think there's something between these characters? Why can't it just... happen? Like they do in the "straight" animes.

But this is another sucky part.

We'll stick with Stamyu.

If this did have BL as a genre, then what the show has been giving would be labelled as "not enough". Bc BL has to mean "at least a kiss", usually. People aren't happy if they dont get at least that if the BL genre is attached. And so Starmyu would be considered a "fine anime" without BL attached, but a "disappointing anime" if BL was attached.

Nobody is saying that about Ouran. The two leads (male and female) never kissed and its considered one of the best romance animes

And that's a romance anime, not an action series with romance in the background.

But if Starmyu was labelled as BL and all they did was hug, people would be hella disappointed. However, as a non-BL, people would be happy to see them just hug, that would be enough.

It sucks bc, Yuri on Ice came along and did it.

But we know that despite mostly being centred around sports, it 100% has an actual canon Gay Romance

Which changed the fucking game for a brief moment, and I haven't seen anything like it since.

BL to me sometimes feels like a warning. Like "if you enter this anime, it is gay, be warned."

It didn't take any geniuses to know that Yuri on Ice wasn't a manly anime for manly mens, and was most likely catered to girls, but, dudes could still watch it and be shocked when the gay happened, and be like "Ok I knew this anime was a little sparkly and shit, but I still watched it for the sport regardless of it being ice-skating... But why they have to put this gay shit in here??? If it had said fucking BL or yaoi, I would have stayed away! Now I'm forced to see this with my own eyes!!!"

The "ride" actually was a ride earlier on, as opposed to the metaphor that it is now.

Either there was some back and forth in dev on which Doctor actually had the keycard to the quarantine grid or - funnerer option - the quarantine grid originally required multi-user authentication to unlock and there were multiple keycards that had to be collected.

No word on Gemma, unless she was meant to be the female plague victim. Nothing saying that though so we're free to imagine a better ending for her.

If you had to write a series spin off just focused on just series 5 Mini, what main points would you write about? For me I think her being a lesbian, her control issues, and her ED. what do you think?? What relationships would you explore?? what timeline? i’d love to explore mini in college (if she ever had a baby ofc and was coming into her sexuality.) i could defo see her hooking up with girls a lot and finally being open to it!!

I think you nailed it- Mini's character arc revolves around her deep seated control issues that stem from being afraid people won't like her for who she is and being afraid that if she gives into her impulses, she'll end up like her mother. Her eating disorder and queerness are definitely story points in that arc. I think it could have been really interesting to explore those issues through the lens of her pregnancy.

I think it would be something like this: Mini gets pregnant with Nick, someone who seems like he should be "perfect" for her but isn't. Her teen pregnancy mirrors her mother's own pregnancy, and so it seems that Mini is following in her footsteps. Mini and Nick try to make it work. Mini is obsessive about eating "right" for the baby, she's trying to be the perfect partner to Nick, and overall she's trying to force things to be perfect. But she starts to realize that even though everything seems right on paper, something just isn't working. Through her friendship with Franky, she starts to realize that maybe the reason her relationships with men have never felt right is because she's not attracted to men- she's attracted to women, and specifically Franky. Mini leaves Nick for Franky, but Franky isn't interested in her in that way- she likes Matty, and she thinks of Mini as her first real friend, but not as a romantic prospect. I think that would work really nicely because it flips our initial assumptions around- the girl who seems like she would be the most straight is actually queer, and Franky really is "into people".

Mini's life continues to feel more and more out of control as her relationships and body changes, and she continues to try and force things to fit the narrative she's already written for herself. Her need for control and to not be like her mother eventually pushes her mother away, and Mini is left on her own. Maybe she ends up hospitalized as a result of being too stringent with her eating and has to deal with it all alone. From there, Mini starts defining who she is when she's not thinking about herself in relation to other people. It's scary for her, but since trying to be in control has caused her to hit rock bottom, she starts to relinquish control to see if maybe that will work instead. I can imagine her having to get a job she thinks is totally beneath her and actually really liking it. I can imagine her doing lots of DIY projects and learning how to make baby clothes because she wants her baby to have nice things, but she can't actually afford to buy them. I like the idea of a scene where Mini is painting her baby's room and for the first time really allowing herself to be free and creative. She starts to learn that it's okay if things aren't picture perfect- what matters is the love and care that go into them. After having this realization, Mini reconciles with her mum, who she now realizes did the best she could with what she had. Even if her childhood wasn't picture-perfect like other kids she knew, Mini was always raised with love and acceptance. Meanwhile, Nick has begun to soften and has gone on his own emotional journey, so he and Mini reconcile, this time just as friends, and agree to co-parent their baby. Her arc ends with having the baby, and her identity is once again wrapped up in someone else, but this time it's in a way that's healthy for her and allows her to grow.
