okay, so i’ve been thinking this for a while so i’ll just put it here why not ???

so modern au where james is a tattoo artist. he cares deeply about every tattoo he is about to do so he always makes sure to ask the meaning behind the designs and that’s how he ends learning about other cultures (also with a lot of research after every session). he has entire notebooks where he have written down all the information he had gathered.

but like, imagine him saying facts about other cultures about other cultures out of nowhere and everyone is like “where did you learn that?” and he shrugs and says “one of my clients told me about it” and goes on with his life.

and and and, imagine if regulus wants to write a book with characters from other cultures and when james learns about this he appears at regulus’ flat with his notebooks and a smile, saying “you can choose, there’s plenty of options.”

Just had a random thought. I know it's not going this way at all in The Boys but wouldn't it be funny as shit if JDM ended up being Soldier Boy's/Ben's asshole dad? Like he gave Ben shit for taking the Compound V as a shortcut but then talked his military buddies into giving him some when he started getting older? And then,,,surprise. Four generations of Supe strong-as-fuck assholes for Butcher and Co to deal with.

hmm i feel like a lot of people online are trying to create a brand using ..themselves. which like yeah duh, but i feel that in a sense someone’s real life identity and their presence online have become heavily connected, even more so in the past few years. before it was the original identity that was expressed online, but now it’s been switched to where how you’re perceived becomes the true identity. aesthetics take priority over personality.

Do you ever think of how, to Arthur, Merlin is a clumsy, idiot of a servant with no care for tradition, but he makes Arthur laugh and gives the best advice and somehow, without Arthur even noticing, has become his best friend in the entire world, the person he wants to face every battle with, not only so he can protect Merlin but also so he can have Merlin’s support and approval

And then it turns out that Merlin doesn’t need protecting, and he’s the most powerful sorcerer to exist, he has magic, and has actually been the one protecting Arthur this entire time

And Arthur has to face their entire relationship being turned upside down, because okay you have magic, he’s had his suspicions about magic not being evil for a while now and of course Merlin isn’t evil, but it’s more how dare you not tell me, after I’ve came to you for everything and I thought you did too, I thought I noticed when things were wrong and put a smile on your face but this whole time you’ve not trusted me

And in a matter of hours he has to relearn their entire friendship and try to understand why Merlin has done this and why he keeps doing this and make sure that everything else about our friendship is true please say the rest was true

And by the end, because he is dying and the end is so very near, it doesn’t matter anymore because he is Arthur and he is Merlin and it doesn’t matter that they’re also the Once and Future King of Camelot and Emrys the Most Powerful Sorcerer Ever to Live

No, they’re just Merlin and Arthur in their last few minutes together and they both know it and this is his last chance so it’s not you betrayed me and I need time and how could you do this to us, instead it’s it’s okay and hold me and thank you because if this is his last chance to protect Merlin then of course he is going to take it, that’s always been his job and neither death nor magic is going to change that

Okay so I’ve been reading a lot of reverse robin AUs recently and I have a hot take. Duke Thomas should be the Dick Grayson parallel instead of Damian.

Hear me out. So bare bones Duke was the last to join in cannon, so he should be the first to join for reverse robins. But to get deeper into it Duke lost both of his parents at the same time setting him down a path of becoming a vigilante. He becomes Bruce’s ward instead of being adopted because he already was raised with two good parents and doesn’t want them to be replaced. He also created his own mantle that was the opposite to Batman, the light to Batman’s dark, inspiring hope against Batman’s fear. He’s friendly and works well and inspires others, but also extremely sharp and smart which people often forget.

Damian would work well as a batgirl parallel more. He would join after Duke but be a few years older, got there already trained and immediately jumping into crime fighting. Covering the areas that Bruce and Duke don’t fill. While Duke takes up his own name Damian would use a name more inspired by Batman himself.

I just think this dynamic of Bruce and Duke being the first dynamic duo would fit so well (also get to spotlight Duke who so often gets overlooked).
