Okay, you know how bird don't ACTUALLY look the way we think they do?
They are far more colorful? But only to the eyes of other birds?
And it has to do with how light reflects off them and how their eyes are shaped etc etc.?
Well..... humans can see the most shades of green, right? But! We sure as shit can't see UltaViolet and InfraRed? Or shades BEYOND those. Ectoplasmic colors. Magical ones. Third eye, need to see with your SOUL type ones.
Danny? Could very well still have lil baby "kitten's eyes who haven't open yet" syndrome.
He thinks the Zone is Green and his hair is white.
But it's not.
His hair is Starlight colored. Frost. His suit is specifically "the void between stars" colored. Which looks... different? Then black? No, no, guys. How can you guys not see it? It looks REALLY different! How did he not NOTICE before?! They're not ever CLOSE to the same shade! It's like calling salmon and hot pink the same. You know... if you were to compare an actual fish and some irradiated, violently glowing version of "hot pink".
......guys?
His gloves are.... guys, these ares stars. Pressed so close together there's no gap. His body is the night sky, all rearranged. He's wearing SPACE, guys.
*continues to stare at his gloves for the next five hours*
Now... why is this relevant? Because! Danny slowly, as all humans do, adjusts! It's like finally having glasses after years of blurry vision. He... forgets, what it was like, not NOT See Zone Colors. Not completely, mind you, but enough he has to be reminded.
And the Zone? A Realm of the Dead. Specifically, the great catch-all and highway of the Dead. They get EVERYBODY. Misfits and vagabonds. Those who don't quite fit. Funky lil dudes. And of course, assholes, but everybody has those! See, Zone colors?
Are DIFFERENT.
They're all of um!
It's like looking at the technicolor, stobe light, multi galaxies in one, Sun. Tingly(tm)!!! You get used to it. What helps? Is that as garish as the Zone is? The painting and grand tapestry of it all? Keeps changing. Like weather. If it's too much for you, you can stay inside your Lair until the current Color changes. Until the designs shift. Vibe changes.
There are even glasses for that! "Temperate" areas for people to set up, that get headaches or are just... kinda killjoys. Too each their own. Though the stormy areas? Those guys are freaks. Watch out for those guys. They're the kind who stare directly are stars until their eyes burn out.
Where was I? Oh yeah! Danny!
No longer a wee baby, smol baby, twig-o!
Sad. We miss it.
But he did get used to Seeing The Colors. Got a handle on his powers. And! Finally worked with his parents on how to safely turn the portal OFF. There was much booing. Cries of "kill joy" and "booo! You suck!". But? Like? Dude DID have the right to protect his home. Go to college. What can you do?
Problem with THAT is? Baby grew into his "built like a brick shit house of constantly running off to literally tackle the Supernatural excellence" Fenton genetics. He Tall. Muscles! And he PUMPING out "somethings fucked up with me" Vibes!
Add in his DEEPLY Sus off hand comments. Weird ability to tell when someone has or is about to die. Basic immunity to the cold. Fuckin EYE GLOW?
Ha ha... *Horror movie screams from his college dorm mates*
Clearly a demon!
He gets kicked out. Well... not kicked out. He's a model student and broken no rules. They'd never survive the lawsuit. But... he's? STRONGLY INCOURAGED to finish his education elsewhere. Repeatedly. By like... 15 colleges.
Sam is not just livid, she's actively foaming at the mouth.
Breathe, Sam! Remember what your doctor said! Your mortal body can't handle that kinda Vengance spiral! Think of your blood pressure! Breathe!!! (Were not for the laws of this land... and the weak, fleshy constraints of her mortal form!)
Thankfully? Tucker's been interning, remotely of course, with Wayne Industries. He asked his manager where he could find some of those scholarship forms. (Since Gotham University is just a touch out of Danny's price range.) Manager wanted to know why. And oh! Oh holy shit. Apparently? Danny is the hot new office gossip.
People in the main office are OUTRAGED. Danny's "too spooky"?! Too FUCKIN SPOOKY!? Are you KIDDING THEM? Even juicier, a Meta kid from some wacky ghost hunters turned scientists. From a line of Supernatural hunters. Wants to be a aeronautics engineer.
Ooooooh how SPOOKY! Better watch out! He'll design an ENGINE at yooooou!
Fuckin casuals. Non-Gothamites are WEAK. "Too scary" their collective asses. Yeah, maybe the kid SHOULD come too Gotham. He can be the weird kid. Mildly unsettling or something. His powers won't be SHIT in Gotham. Just remind him to buy a gas mask.
So! Danny gets his Scholarship! Merrily packs his bags for darker, Gothic hellscape hills. Unaware... that Constantine has been following reports of a "demon" that he's? 80% sure is a Banshee but MIGHT be a winter spirt with a shtick? For the past 13 colleges. He's getting closer. And this sucker is a strong one.
Not "this is going to cause me serious, life imperilling danger" strong. But more? "Man, that cat is HUUUUUGE". Could he still get mauled a lil? Yeah. Scratched to all hell and back? Probably! But DIE? Unlikely.
He just needs to know why the FUCK this spirit his hanging around colleges.
Which is made harder... by the fact that what HE sees? And what OTHER people see? When they look at this guy? Separate things. Yeah, he'd LOVE to give you guys a description! IF HE HAD ONE.

Danny Phantom Required* Watching
*It isn't actually required. I know there are a ton of phans who have never even seen a single episode of the show, but it's a fun watch and I would recommend at least catching some.
Sorting the episodes into colors (with the first letter in parenthesis by the title for those who might be too colorblind to tell). Note that this is all just my objective opinion, and everyone is free to leave their own thoughts on this!
Green (G) - Introduction of an important character or major plot development, such as a new power for Danny or another major shift in the status quo. If you can only watch a few of the episodes, watch these.
Pink (P) - Introduction of a side character or minor plot development.
Red (R) - Introduction of a new character worth mentioning or other general status quo change, but the episode is generally considered to be...not great by most people. (But hey, nothing wrong with liking these episodes!) They'll be summarized at the bottom of each episode description for those who can't be bothered to watch them.
Blue (B) - Nothing important happens to the overall plot, but it's a fun episode that fleshes out the characters.
Season 1
Episode 1: Mystery Meat (R) - Establishes the show and its main characters: Danny, Sam, and Tucker, as well as a lot of other important characters such as the Fenton parents and Jazz, and minor recurring characters like Dash and the Lunch Lady. The writers are still getting their footing so the main trio is unfortunately among the flattest they get here.
Episode 2: Parental Bonding (P) - Introduction of Paulina and Dora, first look at Valerie, and most importantly, Danny's power to overshadow people. Fun episode in general, Tucker makes a weird comment at the start but this is one of Sam's absolute best episodes as a character. (Tucker and Sam actually getting to be fun characters instead of just "butt-monkey comic relief" and "selfish asshole" is rarer than I'd like, so I always like pointing out the episodes where they get some love.)
Episode 3: One of a Kind (G) - Introduction of Skulker, a recurring major antagonist, and his motivations.
Episode 4: Attack of the Killer Garage Sale (P) - Introduction of Technus, Ghost Master of Technology and Destroyer of Worlds, Manipulator of Machines, Lord of all Gadgetry, Wizard of Integrated Circuitry, Master of All Things Electronic and Beeping.
Episode 6: What You Want (P) - First appearance of Danny's Ghost Ray and introduction to Desiree and the Ghost Catcher (a Fenton device with an unfortunately rather...culturally insensitive name and design), explores Tucker and his relationship to Danny. I went back and forth between making this green and pink because I'm biased in my love for this episode, but it isn't necessary to comprehend later episodes. (If you can watch it, though, it's a lot of fun as we get to see how close Danny and Tucker are and how Tucker feels about Danny's powers.)
Episode 7: Bitter Reunions (G) - Formal introduction to main series antagonist, Vlad Masters, and his relationship with the Fentons and the ghosts of the Ghost Zone. (Antisemitism tw: Vlad has hired ghost hitmen that are vultures with Yiddish accents, hooked beaks, and fezzes. They thankfully don't show up anywhere else, as far as I can remember.)
Episode 8: Prisoners of Love (P) - Introduction to the Ghost Zone itself and Walker, a side antagonist. Shows Alicia, Danny and Jazz's maternal aunt who never appears again after this episode.
Episode 9: My Brother's Keeper (G) - Gives Jazz a focus and formally makes her a major player in the plot through a certain discovery she makes. Also introduces side antagonist Dr. Penelope Spectra.
Episode 10: Shades of Gray (G) - Valerie Gray, a background character from Episode 2, gets new motivations and becomes an important part of the series going forward.
Episode 11: Fanning the Flames (P) - Ember is introduced, and she hypnotizes the entire town to fall for her with her music. To keep Danny out of her hair, she makes him fall for Sam. Whether this episode is a Pink or a Red depends on whether or not that bothers you. (Racism tw: there's a sequence towards the end of the episode that shows people around the world watching Ember, and they're all very stereotyped appearances of Japanese, Eastern European, Arabian, and Indigenous Australian people. Thanks, Hartman.)
Episode 12: Teacher of the Year (B) - A fun episode with Technus. It does have some of that early 2000s "don't underestimate me because I'm a girl" stuff, but it's still a good episode with a lot of heart.
Episode 13: Fright Night (P) - Introduces Fright Knight. A Halloween special that has its ups and downs (eating underwear?) It's just really funny that an actual ghost, who has been to the maddeningly twisted and alien world of the afterlife, still can't scare anyone to save his life.
Episode 14: 13 (P) - It's a shame this isn't actually the 13th episode. Anyway, it introduces Johnny 13 and Kitty, while Tucker and Sam get to hang out without Danny while trying to solve Tucker's new run of bad luck and the fallout for his reputation.
Episode 15: Public Enemies (G) - Walker's back and he's making a major shift in the status quo: ghosts are confirmed to exist as he stages a major invasion of the town. Things don't go well for Danny, and the repercussions will be felt for well into the series. Also introduces Wulf, a ghost who looks like a werewolf, exclusively speaks Esperanto, and has the ability to tear the fabric of reality to create portals between Earth and the Ghost Zone. He's putting this power to use for Walker, but it's clearly not by choice...
Episode 17: Maternal Instinct (B) - Maddie notices her son is growing distant from her and tries to take him to a science symposium to bond with him, but disaster strikes and leaves them in the woods, with the only shelter available being...a cabin owned and occupied by none other than Vlad. Meanwhile, Jack tries to understand Jazz, who doesn't seem to want anything to do with him or ghost hunting. Lots of great character moments for the Fentons.
Episode 18: Life Lessons (B) - Danny and Valerie, arriving late to class because they both were out ghost hunting, get paired up in home economics class to raise a flour sack baby together. We get more insight into what Valerie's life is like after Shades of Gray, and she learns to get along with both Fenton and, temporarily, Phantom, after an excursion through Skulker's part of the Ghost Zone. As a B-plot, Tucker makes money babysitting other students' flour sacks while ignoring the one he has with Sam, and Sam tries not to get attached to the sack. It's not important to the plot AT ALL but I'd put this as a must-watch if I could. Alas, I made the rules and must follow them.
Episode 19: The Million Dollar Ghost (B) - A million dollars is placed on the head of the ghost boy, Public Ghost Enemy #1: Inviso-Bill, known to us in the audience as Danny Phantom.
Episode 20: Control Freaks (G) - The circus is in town! New villain Freakshow gets introduced, and he becomes important later. Kinda. Depending on how much you like a certain blue episode that comes on down the line. The trio go to this cool new goth circus, but there's a string of ghostly robberies in town and Danny has been acting strangely lately...
Season 2
Episode 1/21: Memory Blank (R) - Danny and Sam have a fight, Sam wishes she'd never met him, Desiree makes the wish come true and now Danny has no powers and neither he nor Tucker remember her at all. Sam gets him fried by the portal again to get his powers back, but this time with a new logo she designed slapped onto his chest. Really all that happens is Danny gets his logo. This can be skipped...if you wish. ;)
Episode 2/22: Doctor's Disorders (B) - There's a bug going around - literally - getting the kids at Casper High sick. Symptoms include sneezing, chills, coughing, congestion, and various ghost powers depending on the student. The only ones immune seem to be Danny (thanks to his ghost powers) and Tucker (wearing his new homemade cologne that smells awful in a different way to everyone). A new hospital opens up to treat them, but something fishy is definitely going on. ...But Tucker is afraid of hospitals. Great Tucker episode.
Episode 3/23: Pirate Radio (P) - Introduction to Youngblood, an occasional antagonist. A new radio program pops up, and every adult in town (and Jazz, who's 16 but sees herself as an adult) is enraptured by it and the one song that it plays on loop. Then one day, every single adult in town leaves behind a note that they're going on a cruise, and it's up to Danny to rally the teens of Amity Park to discover what's so fishy about the cruise and get their parents back.
Episode 4/24-5/25: Reign Storm (G) - The creepy castle in the Ghost Zone Danny accidentally freed Fright Knight from in Fright Night holds yet another secret: the coffin of the Ghost King, known as Pariah Dark, whose goal is to rule over the Ghost Zone and the human world with an iron fist. Vlad frees him hoping to snatch the powerful artifacts on him, but it backfires and now the King is free and follows the fleeing ghosts to Amity Park, which he promptly invades. Danny, Valerie, and various enemies including Vlad need to team up to seal King Pariah back within his sarcophagus and save both Amity Park and the Ghost Zone as a whole. Major status quo shifts happen here.
Episode 6/26: Identity Crisis (B) - Not my favorite episode, but I'm including it here because it was popular with the Phandom a decade ago. Danny gets tired of trying to balance his human and ghost lives, so splits himself in two using the Ghost Catcher that was introduced in Season 1 episode 6: What You Want. That also, unfortunately, divides his personality to two extremes; the human half ("Fun Danny") is lazy while the ghost half ("Super Danny") is an absolute ham of a superhero stereotype, and Tucker and Sam struggle to put their friend back together so he can stop Technus in a way only he can (and also because both halves are honestly really annoying them).
Episode 8/28-9/29: The Ultimate Enemy (G) - This is THE episode of all time. Maybe not the best episode, but it's great in its own right and, more importantly for this list, introduces another major status quo shift. It's also basically required viewing for the comic that came out last year (at time of writing), as that comic is a direct follow-up to this episode. Clockwork, a ghost that is essentially a deity of time, has a mission to eliminate the greatest threat to Earth and the Ghost Zone that has ever been before he comes into that role: a ghost named Danny Phantom. Danny comes face-to-face with a version of himself that caused a doomed future, and needs to fight to ensure that future never comes to pass.
Episode 10/30: The Fright Before Christmas (B) - The boy Danny Fenton, a Grinch to his core, finds the holiday season to be quite a chore. Into the Ghost Zone to blow off some steam, he accidentally causes a scene: the Ghost Writer's finished manuscript in ashes, and with Danny's indifference he clashes. He traps him in a book that warps space and time, and forces all events in his life to rhyme. You're in for a treat if you like all these rhymes, but if they annoy you, then don't waste your time. (This factoid may not matter to you, but this is where we learn of the Christmas Truce!)
Episode 11/31: Secret Weapons (R) - Jazz is overbearing, Danny doesn't like it, so Jazz decides to go to Vlad. The episode's latter half isn't bad, but it's R because Jazz's constant invasions of Danny's privacy and the repetitive thermos jokes grate on me. If you plan to skip, the thing that makes it a red episode is this: Vlad learns that Jazz is in-the-know.
Episode 12/32: Flirting With Disaster (G) - A lot of the more plot-relevant episodes in season 2 (and one in season 1) have been building romantic tension between Danny and Valerie, and here's where it comes to a head: they actually start dating! However, after some jealous stalking thorough investigating, Sam finds that there's someone pulling the strings, and manipulating their real feelings for each other to pull them together and get them out of the way... Valerie especially undergoes a lot of major character moments, and we learn a lot more about her as a person. One of my personal favorite episodes (and I don't just say that because I'm a Danny/Valerie truther) (the "engraved" ring and Sam being a stalker about it aren't great, but honestly I just try to ignore those parts. Yes, I know I'm biased).
Episode 17/37: Kindred Spirits (G) - While Danny's busy being an asshole to his friends leaving Sam and Tucker to take the blame for property damages during his fights, he finds a strange girl named Danielle (or "Dani") who claims to be his cousin and shares an eerie resemblance with him. The similarities go more than skin deep, as she quickly reveals that she's ALSO half ghost. Tucker and Sam warn Danny that there's something suspicious about the whole ordeal (in between being left behind to be blamed for collateral damage more times than I'm bothered to count right now), but when Danny winds up in trouble anyway, they still skip detention (that he got them in) to save him before it's too late. Danny's a dick, but despite that, it's still a good episode and we get introduced to Dani before her next appearance.
Episode 19/39-20/40: Reality Trip (B) - Freakshow gets the Reality Gauntlet: an off-brand Infinity Gauntlet that can warp reality to anything he desires. He gets Danny's secret revealed to the world, causing the government agency the Guys In White (from Million Dollar Ghost in season 1) to relentlessly pursue him. Luckily, thanks to knowledge Sam gained from a book on the gauntlet, the main trio manages to warp the gems to different parts of the United States, severely limiting Freakshow's power. Unluckily, Freakshow retaliates by kidnapping their parents and Jazz, forcing the three to go on a cross-country road trip to get the gems back to Freakshow and save their families while evading the law. No permanent shifts of the status quo, but one of my personal favorite episodes. It's a fun ride!
Season 3
Episode 1/41: Eye for an Eye (R) - A prank war between Danny and Vlad ends in Vlad becoming mayor and passing a lot of horrible laws specifically to spite Danny. The laws are undone by the end of the episode, but Vlad stays mayor.
Episode 2/42: Infinite Realms (R) - In trying to map out the Ghost Zone, the main trio end up meeting Frostbite: leader of a realm in the Zone known as the Far Frozen, filled with spirits that take the form of peaceful, yeti-like monster folk who revere Danny as the chosen one who defeated Pariah Dark. Frostbite is also keeper of the Infi-Map: a map that can take the user anywhere in the Ghost Zone. Now for the bad news: Vlad is here, he wants world domination now for some reason, and he wants the map to help him do it. Vlad steals the map, the trio needs to get it back. It's not the worst episode, but Vlad's villain decay is...tragic. Tl;dr: Frostbite is the leader of a tribe of friendly yeti spirits and keeps the Infi-Map, which can take the user to any point in the ghost zone.
Episode 5/45: Forever Phantom (B) - One of the only actually fun filler episodes in season 3. Introduces us to Amorpho: a ghost with the power to shapeshift into anything and anyone, who uses their power to cause mayhem for attention. They bite off more than they can chew when they impersonate Danny Phantom, however, and a Fenton device gone awry locks both Amorpho and Danny into the form of Danny Phantom. Wacky hijinks abound.
Episode 6/46: Urban Jungle (G) - Haha green. Like plants. Anyway, Danny has been cold lately. No matter what he does or where he is, he's consistently freezing. It gets worse: while Danny's in this weakened state, a giant plant ghost named Undergrowth takes over Amity Park and possesses Sam. Unable to fight the constantly-regenerating Undergrowth or to keep himself from freezing, he flees into the Ghost Zone to seek Frostbite's aid.
Episode 9/49: Frightmare (B) - Danny wakes up one night to learn, to his horror, that Nocturne, the ghost of dreams, has put all of Amity Park into a deep sleep to feed on their energy. He enters the dreams of his friends to wake them and get their help taking Nocturne down. A good episode for people who ship Danny/Sam, and a GREAT episode for people like me who like to pretend that all the episodes I left off the season 3 list were just bad dreams.
Episode 10/50: Claw of the Wild (B) - The students of Casper High are ending summer with a camping trip in a foggy forest. All seems normal until, one by one, campers go missing. Danny, Tucker, and Sam go investigating and find their ally Wulf, who seems to know something about the disappearances...
Episode 11/51: D-Stabilized (G) - Regarded by most as the final good episode of Danny Phantom. Dani had been on her own in the world since we last left her, but over time, her form has been getting unstable, causing her to be slowly melting into a puddle of ectoplasm. She tries returning to Amity Park to get help, but is now being hunted down by Valerie, who Vlad commissioned so he could melt Dani down and study her remains to make a superior clone. (Valerie thinks he's just going to keep her contained for the safety of Amity Park; she isn't informed of the cloning.) Valerie turns Dani in to Vlad, but Danny manages to form a shaky alliance with Valerie to get Dani back, since Valerie knows that Dani is half human.
Episode 12/52-13:53: Phantom Planet (R) - The only reason this is here is because the comic continues from where this episode left off. If it didn't, I'd suggest ignoring it entirely. Rapid-fire summary: an asteroid is about to hit Earth, Vlad reveals himself to the world and demands unquestioning rule over Earth (and one trillion dollars or something) in exchange for turning the asteroid intangible. Vlad can't turn it intangible since it's made of Ectoranium, an anti-ghost substance we never hear of until now. Jack leaves Vlad in outer space. Danny gets every ghost he knows to help him turn Earth intangible, it works somehow, and Danny reveals his secret identity to the world. Statues of Danny are built all over the world, Sam and Danny start dating, and Tucker becomes mayor of Amity Park. A bunch of other stuff happens too but it's all stupid. Valerie gets thrown into a dumpster on live TV and that's her only appearance besides clapping for Danny at the end. I'm still mad. Don't watch Phantom Planet.
The Comics
Book 1: A Glitch in Time (G) - Danny's life is perfect: his secret identity is out, and the world accepts him not just as a part of it, but as its savior. His parents and former bullies fight on his side now, he's in a committed relationship with Sam, and Amity Park seems to be at peace. There's just one problem: his powers are getting weaker by the day. Unbeknownst to him, there's another problem in progress: Dan Phantom, the evil future Danny from The Ultimate Enemy, is released and fuses with Clockwork, causing present Danny and those near him to experience unstable glitches in time. Vlad returns to warn Danny of the threat of Dan, and they all team up to venture into the depths of the Ghost Zone to find a way to stop Dan and get Danny back to full strength. Meanwhile, Jazz and Valerie hold down the fort at Amity Park, holding Dan off for as long as they can while the trio and Vlad search for answers.

Spread the Love Fic Recs <3
There's been a bunch of negativity lately and I think that means we as a fandom need to spread some love around. If you get tagged please add some fics that you think deserve more love, only request is that they aren't insanely popular fics (think like fics with less than 50k hits) this way we can get some other fics out there for others to read and enjoy!!
1.) Premeditation by Chromatographic (Lia)
The problem is that so few people are even able to see what the problem really is. The problem is that things that manage to find the balance on the knife’s edge of life are so, so hard to kill. The problem, Jasmine Fenton realizes, two weeks after she moves into Gotham, is one that almost no one, in any dimension or realm, is able to solve. The problem is simply put, though, even if it’s almost impossible. The problem is this: The Joker is a Halfa.
this fic has the hardcover ship (Jazz/Jason) and everlasting trio (danny/sam/tucker) it's beautifully written and keeps you on the edge of your seat as you watch the story progress. Absolutely amazing. The writing is just amazing, Chroma sucks you in with beautiful storyline that just blows my mind. And the ending is just absolutely perfect!
2.) Halves by TourettesDog
Jason wasn't sure why Dick thought it was a good idea to drag him along with Tim to Amity Park. His brother seemed to think the strange case would offer a decent opportunity to bond-- without Gotham (and Bruce) close at hand, perhaps it wasn't the worst idea he'd ever had. Unfortunately, Amity Park is far stranger than Dick anticipated, and Jason hasn't quite been himself since they arrived. Going to FentonWorks for answers was their first big mistake.
honestly one of my favorite fics atm, I just love Gothamites going to Amity Park, i'm just such a sucker for the idea and we just don't see it enough so this fic is just my dream come true!
3.) Pitch-Dark Shades by SummersSixEcho
Danny Fenton is trying to build a new life in Gotham after closing up the connections to the Ghost Zone. Not that all connections are entirely broken, still being able to perceive shades and give them strength when he connects to one of their prized objects. Tim Drake is trying to find his own place in the world, focusing on becoming a better detective by solving cold cases in his spare time. When Tim and Danny meet, a new (begrudging) partnership starts to bloom to solve even the hardest of cases. Or it would if only they told each other the truth.
I truly just love Danny and Tim together in literally any kind of capacity. They just cause so much chaos together and it's amazing. This fic is just absolutely lovely and the prose is amazing. Summers fics are truly enrapturing and just pull you in so easily.
4.) Beneath A Different Light by AKelaNakamura, SummersSixEcho, TourettesDog
When a convergent event hits unexpectedly, Damian and Danny find themselves in the last place they’d expected: In the body of the twin they’d thought long dead. With the after effects still coursing through them and danger lurking in both cities, the brothers must figure out who they can trust—all while slowly learning about the life their twin has led without them. Or, none of these bastards can catch a break.
Demon twins. Just--just Demon Twins my beloved. This fic is two chapters in and i'm just so utterly in love with it. Summers, Akela, and Dog are just a match made in heaven when it comes to cowriting a fic. The fic just yanks you in so easily and you find yourself thinking about it even after reading the fic. Just a wonderful fic!
5.) Come Little Children by Die_Erlkonigin6083
American Chestnuts were once one of the most important trees along the East Coast. The blight destroyed most of them, but not all of them. There was one chestnut tree, one that entranced a child, and then, what it wrought, enchanted an entire city or two
YALL when i tell you that the storytelling in this is absolutely breathtaking I'm serious. This fic has brought a tear to my eye because of just how beautifully it's written. It's got cool fantasy aspects to it, it's based off of an old fairy tale, it's just so amazing and it's one of my favorite fics to reread if i'm having a bad day. Just truly a lovely fic.
Now, I would like to see @halfagone @spite-sapphic-starlight @noir-renard and @midnightenigma recommend some of their favorite fics if they're willing <3333 let's spread some more love in this fandom!
also even if you aren't tagged--please feel free to recommend any fics you enjoy!!

37 + wilson for the ask game :)
OUCH we're going right for the throat, huh--
This is probably going to be utterly incomprehensible and I am not responsible for any ramifications that arise from answering this question. Allow the word-barf to commence!
#37: What they really think about themselves:
This is such a difficult question to answer because Wilson is a man shrouded in layers upon layers of hiding. This is someone who constantly begs the people around him to be vulnerable with him, to trust him, while simultaneously refusing to ever offer his own vulnerability. And he's good at it. He's good at passing himself off as being close to someone while they never know he has a brother.
House is all walls topped with barbed wire fences and he makes no claims otherwise. Wilson on the other hand is a shimmering oasis. He's fresh water in the desert with shade and fruit. He's nothing but a refreshing illusion. Wilson can be incredibly human while simultaneously more detached than anyone knows. This is aided by the fact that he's a social chameleon, matching whoever he's with, and a natural conscience mirror for the people around him. House calls him out on this multiple times in S5, specifically for being a chameleon who meets the environmental needs of everyone else socially; House asks him, "Who are you at your core?" and then goes on to assert that he thinks Wilson has no core, that his locus of identity has been completely erased in his desperation to meet the needs of others.
Even in S6 when House demands that Wilson choose something to place in their home that he likes... he picks something he knows House likes. "You asked me to tell you who I am, and I am someone who loves you. This is the only answer I know how to give." That's typically the fandom read, but it's important to recognize that this attitude is not unique to House coming from Wilson. He does the same thing with Amber, with Grace (the cancer patient he cares for), with Cuddy during the Rachel adoption arc, with Tucker, with Sam. His existence pivots on his service to other people.
His desperate need to be needed, as House calls it, has a flipside: Wilson can't need anything. From anyone, ever. He can't be vulnerable, which is why he hides himself so effectively. To unveil weaker parts of himself, it would require his loved ones to serve him, to help him, and Wilson cannot cope with the idea of inconveniencing the people in his life. I have written meta in the past on the whole cast's gross mistreatment of Wilson during the Tritter arc. He has no money, no car, living in a hotel that presumably expects weekly payments, no way to buy food or keep himself housed. Everyone attacks him when he finally folds, but none of those people were there to support him, even though his situation was exclusively caused by House lying to and manipulating him. But the thing is... Wilson wouldn't have let them help him. Think of his friendship with Cuddy, how she reveals that she treats him as a confidant (she told him and only him that she slept with her father's best friend) and trusts him not to repeat things to House--but when he arrives to work late from riding the bus, she didn't even know his car was impounded. That sort of friendship is the type you can call to come get you! You don't need to take the bus! Wilson would never dream of reciprocating the relationship she has with him. He's incapable of inconveniencing someone, even to ask for a ride to work or to spot him a five for a sandwich in the cafeteria, even from people he's very close to.
And this all comes to a head in the cancer arc. Wilson is incapable of being needy to the point that he's ready to undergo high dose chemotherapy alone in his own home in a nonsterile environment with no one to monitor him or check on him. In his words: "I am not going to die slowly in a hospital bed under fluorescent lighting with people stopping by to gawk and lie about how I look. Even a small chance of that happening is too big a chance for me." It's funny that later in this episode he says that he wanted a wife and children to care for him, when we know he wouldn't ever allow himself to be so weak in front of his loved ones. House acknowledges this in the same episode.
Wilson's need to serve and his fearful avoidance of being vulnerable all point to an incredibly abysmal sense of self-worth. He says that House doesn't like himself but admires himself, and I don't even think Wilson does that much--as he consistently tries to lie on the sword for everyone around him. RSL says Wilson is the saddest man in New Jersey, and I would agree with that. Wilson has deep-seated issues with his self-esteem. As a wise YA novel once said, we accept the love we think we deserve, and the only love Wilson ever accepts is House's. In S3 after House upends his entire life, it takes one genuine apology to buy him back, because House's love is the only one Wilson knows how to handle. It's the only one he can take without feeling unworthy. All coming to the S8 conclusion: House makes the ultimate sacrifice for Wilson, and Wilson (in spite of having just lambasted House publicly for ostensibly ditching him) argues against it. Wilson says he's not worth the sacrifice. He would rather die alone than have House give up his life for him.
(I could delve into a whole follow-up wrt Wilson's romantic relationships as a gay!Wilson truther, but I've already gone too far and made this unnecessarily long.)
so in short: I wouldn't say Wilson hates himself explicitly, he would consider that vain and self-centered, but he cannot exist outside of serving others. If his utility is gone, he is pointless. I already wrote a long meta on my take on Wilson's suicidality, but that line of thought follows here, too. Wilson thinks his value as a person stems from his ability to care for others and will die sooner than become someone who needs to be cared for.

I've been seeing a lot of Damian and Danny Twins AUs lately, but they always seem to recognize each other by appearance. They're two kids raised by the League to, assuredly, be a deadly duo at least until Ra's decided one of them had to go. Once Robin starts working with Batman--depending on the canon, he's also trained by the League--those team(twin) fighting lessons and years of practice should come back like muscle memory. For Danny, that should resurface at least a little as he works with Tucker, Sam, Jazz, and possibly Valerie (for this specific AU it would make a *lot* more sense if Valerie was added since she can also fly and then have Danny train her to fight like a Leaguer beside him).
Somehow, probably a ghost nut convention, Danny ends up in Gotham. Batman has been incapacitated and captured by Scarecrow, who is once again bragging about his latest fear toxin that will bring Gotham to its knees, starting with its Dark Knight. Danny has to help a fellow vigilante out and heads off, following the signals of Gotham's shades to Scarecrow's base. Danny, being cautious for once in his vigilante career, surveys the base, and sneaks in.
Robin, the only other bat in Gotham by some misfortune, decided to sneak off to "rescue" his father all by himself. He had no clue who the newbie breaking in Scarecrow's base was, but his father wouldn't want him to let them die, which is why he found himself following the *glowing* imbecile.
*Nice going Fenton, you could have just turned intangible. I guess old habits must come back,* and not wanting to miss another opportunity for improved sneaking, Danny promptly turned invisible and broke left as he continued to creep farther into the building.
*How did that idiot manage to evade me?* Damian wondered with no small hint of irritation after he entered by the same entrance and turned towards his right.
Minutes later, both teens entered into a large, open area. Apparently Scarecrow had set up shop in a large warehouse with ample office space at the front, which the boys had found empty of threats, to their mutual frustration. Danny, still invisible, flew to the rafters and slowly drifted deeper into the warehouse towards the source of the noise and lights he could see. Robin kept to the right of the warehouse, grappled to the rafters and swiftly darted along them towards the area where Scarecrow was likely holding his father.
As Danny neared the back of the warehouse, several things became very clear. The first was that his eyes had been correct, those were *actually* massive vats of chemicals. The second was that massive vats of chemicals without lids existed somewhere outside his parents' basement. The third was that this "Scarecrow" guy, with all his advanced chemistry lab set up, advanced formulas, TV cameras, hired thugs, and insanity was...just a dude with a sack on his head. Danny shook his head, *this is why I don't fight humans.*
Robin, on the other hand, was primarily focused on finding a way to neutralize the thugs around Batman long enough to free him. Robin thought for a moment, Damien Wayne thought for a moment, and Damien al'Ghul thought for a moment. Something in his gut told him his plan would work, and father had said to trust his gut unless it told him to kill people.
Robin leapt from the rafters onto the thug nearest Batman and after absorbing the rest of his fall with a precise roll to his right into the back of another's ankles (ACL tear if done right...or wrong for the rollee), he darted, again towards his right, attempting to clear a space around the objective.
Danny, from his vantage on the rafters, saw a flicker of motion before *Robin* dropped through his field of view and instinct kicked in, pulling Danny after him. Danny, feeling years out of practice, barely avoided twisting his now-much-larger ankle on the shoulder of the goon he crashed onto, and his roll to his left into the next thug's calves was horribly off target to the point he had to yank the man's feet from under him with ghostly strength, but this fight felt...right.
Damian noticed the stutter after his partner landed, that didn't normally happen. *Normally? Ttt, father isn't so clumsy...*
After a minute, perhaps two, had passed, a small space and a shorter window had appeared for Damian to free Batman.
Danny, appreciating the moment he and his mysterious partner had bought, made eye contact with their objective. Tall, dark, brooding, bat-obsessed, and intimidating was putting it mildly. The Batman was terrifying and his gaze was fixed on Danny, so Danny pointedly looked away from him and returned to his job, keeping watch. Dam-- his brot-- Danny had never been that great at rescuing the target anyway, he'd made the best distractions when necessary though. *Could have just phased the bindings off him, stupid,* the voice in the back of his head chided him. *Great going, Fenton. Really slipping up today aren'tcha?*
Damian's hands fumbled for less than half a second as he released Bruce from the table, but he couldn't help it, that had felt...just like before. As the bindings fell away, Batman removed himself from the table and focused the full might of his glare on Scarecrow.
"Forgive me, Dark Knight, if I'm not afraid of your...theatrics. You see my new toxin will--"
An echoing, teenaged voice cut him off, "Blah, blah, crumble the Dark Knight to ruins and bring Gotham to Wisconsin or something, just give up already!"
Scarecrow's mask twisted to match the sick grin underneath, "Is this a new bat for me to te--"
"Am not," the voice, coming from the glowing figure, retorted.
The few goons who had managed to regain their feet since the first beatdown slowly worked to form a perimeter between the 'Crow and the Bats (and co).
"Good, then try *this*!" Doctor Johnathan Crane cried as he hurled a small vial filled with a yellow fluid at Danny's feet. Both Batman and Damian lunged to make space and time to don their filtration masks, but the glowing figure didn't move and vial smashed between his feet.
Damian's heart clenched in fear, *Why didn't you move!?*
The Bat's eyes narrowed.
Danny breathed in the sweaty aroma. *Ugh,* "Dude, was this supposed to smell like gym shorts?"
The Scarecrow stood amidst the vast chemical distillery he had set up in his months out of Arkham, behind the wall of hired muscle he had found, and his jaw fell slack. All his calculations had amounted to was the smell of used gym shorts!?
While the 'Crow's brain tried to reset from Danny's perfect distraction, Danny turned his head back to face Robin with his customary, cocky grin.
Damian recognized the signal for what it was and they sprung back into action together, in sync. As they bounded through the remaining thugs like scythes through a wheat field, every thug they threw was stomped out by the other, every combat roll to quickly find a new angle was covered, and every opening was protected just like they'd been doing this for years.
The fight came to an end to the symphony of Scarecrow's screams, "It's not possible. It's just not! My formula was perfect!" They ended when Batman, who had already handcuffed the pleading lunatic, had knocked him out for "resisting arrest."
Danny and Damian stood near each other to catch their breath, supposedly, but they were appraising each other. Their physiques matched, even if one of them glowed, the eyes matched, even if they shouldn't, and the hair, which was still waving around despite the lack of wind, definitely didn't match, but Damian had a feeling.
Robin was dressed like a stoplight. It was really not Damian's style...at least not back then, but maybe it could have been by now. The hair was the same, he couldn't make out the eyes through whatever was covering them, but this was Damian, no doubt about it.
Danny stepped closer to Robin. Robin's body language immediately became tense in a falsely disaffected manner. Definitely Damian. Danny swooped in for a hug and turned his head intangible, *Ha! Got it right that time!*
When Damian swung at the mystery glowstick's head, he didn't expect his fist to go through it, but his fist certainly collided with their ribs.
Yup, it's Dami.
Damian let himself relax, this was Danyal. Somehow, he was alive, and Damian returned the hug. He'd kill Danyal for not telling him he was still alive later.
"Robin!"
Damian's eyes cracked open to see the disapproving figure of Batman glaring down at him.
"Report!"
In case it wasn't clear, Danny was "slipping up" because he was running on instincts from his days with Damian, not cause he's having problems.

Danny may or may not have been screwew.
----------------
Amity park was quiet, too quiet for Everyone residing in this haunted town,
Everyone knows that just this phenomenal is too be deem something was about to happen, and they couldn't be much more worried about it for the past year,
--------------------
Danny couldn't believe it, the new justice league movie was here!
Don't get me wrong, being a ghost hero and seemingly protecting the town from his own fellow ghost that were taking his whole schedule would not border his excitement for this movie
Mainly Sam had him hook-up to that comic collection she got in one of her dusty closets at her house that she already finished,
And to be exact he was too into the DC comics (sorry Marvel comics but your comics are great too👍)
And it was just in time for his birthday, his parents were out who knows where two days ago (must be one of there expeditions again)
And Jazz couldn't come (which was kinda Abit upsetting) since she had a college project in her major with her other group friends,
So tucker, him and Sam were the only ones,
-----------
Danny couldn't be Abit annoyed that they've been searching for a theater that the movie will be screening in,
The ones with better screens(modern theaters) the movie wasn't released in there end.
-------------------
“tuck can't you just hack whatever studios made that movie so we could just watch it in your PC? This is taking forever! Sam replied to tucker as she was Abit drip wet from the rain right now as they stay at an empty bus stop
Tucker:“well I wanted to suggest that idea, but I can't stop my parents request when they heard that we were watching a movie, they said it's much better in a cinema or theaters and you know me?”
Tucker answered back
Abit unsure which was abnormal for him but they couldn't point it out he's been a lot nervous for that hacking competition from the community for hackers and would won a very mystery surprised and been practicing lately even though he's already awesome at it.
-------------------------
The trio waited out the rain for about an hour as the sun shine in the faces of Amity park,
-------------------------
Sam:“we already cross out every cinema here!”
Both the boys look at Sam as she points out
It was only one movie how bad could it be to find it? Well pretty annoying actually.
Danny: “Hey guys remember that theater in the other side of the town?
Sam: “you mean that haunted theater? That is actually not inhabit by a ghost from the realms? Yeah I do”
Danny: “you do know that it's just called haunted is because there less people visiting and watching from there but look if it's the last place we need to check out for the movie!"- and my legs are hurting me rn just for walking)
--------------------
They did find the theater had the movie available, they had to wear this old 80s or 90s outfits to fit the theme, and they were alot of people looking like they came from the past, just don't bother to look at the phones there holding and very recognizable faces,
Sam had this very nice head piece her hair was Abit curly for her liking but they kept the dark shadow and gave her a red lipstick not her fav of a color but it's shade was nice, a very classic dress, with a pearl necklace that seems to glow
Tucker had that suit with a very nice tie and gloves, Danny felt Abit familia with it Abit.
And him, he was dress with that classic good boy suit- both tucker and Sam couldn't stop laughing,
But not atleast to stop to get pictures at the photo booth
One particular couple had commented that Sam and tucker look like an marriage couple and Danny look like there son in the picture
That made Danny well redden while Sam and tucker couldn't stop teasing him saying, parents jokes the way just for fun
But the movie was good they can't rub it in,
And can't forget when Batman backstory came out, Sam couldn't stop to comment that the suit he was wearing look exactly like young Bruce suit, the one his wearing now for theater vibes shit customs
Ohh Sam if you knew-😃
---------------------------
It was like watching those videos on 3 max speed,
After the trio had came out of the theater, and it might have been Abit dumb to make the alley way beside the theater a shortcut,
Well it felt like Deja Vu
Till that man with the gun was there, not exactly a man, it was a ghost, well hello new rogue, the ghost introduced himself as Mugger(really dude?) And he wanted them to give there belongins
One of those ghost bullets kinda hurt for Sam and tucker but they were okay, wasn't harm, reminded them Abit of paintball event last week they attend,
But most of all They couldn't believe that after the fight, the only one really beaten up was mugger, well shit-
-----------------
Danny was in an alleyway, near the theater(not the theater) and unfamiliar but similar city, there it was he was Abit bloodied in his suit, he was Abit smaller like some kid, and he was holding a pearl necklace that was torn abit only some few pieces of pearls scattered
No-no-no-no! Where was he?what was he doing here? Heck where was he even anyway?
Well that thought was interrupt when he say a hotel sign in pink neon lights
(welcome to Gotham: marywell inn!)
Like shoving into his face
Oh ancients what has he gotten himself up too?
-------- Well F7CK------

Drawings from Tucker's sketchbook to go with the latest chapter of my DPxDC crossover fic Unearthed, Reborn! Everyone please know that Tucker draws better than I do, but I'm doing my best.
Image IDs and a clearer idea of who's writing what below the cut.
[Begin image ID: A series of nine photos showing two sketchbooks pages with black and white pencil drawings. Page one shows hero costume designs for Jason Todd and Sam Manson, with comments written in varying handwriting. The second page shows a costume design for Danny Fenton.
The first closeup shows Jay with his ghostly wings out, hair color-swapped to be mostly white with a black stripe, and wearing simple, functional armor. He is in an action pose, wings extended and lunging to the side. An arrow points to his wings with "WING ARMOR" written in Tucker's handwriting. Sam responds, "you didn't draw the back because you don't know what it looks like, do you?" Tucker writes, "NO PROOF"
The second closeup shows Jay's armor in greater detail, with more notes. One arm on the basic drawing model is extended to the side. Black-shaded hands are labelled, "GLOVES" by Tucker. Danny responds, "no fingieprints," to which Jay has written, "Blocked." An arrow points to the same arm, labelled by Tucker as, "REINFORCED WEAVE FABRIC (TBD)." Tucker labelled a vest with obvious plates drawn on as, "ARMORED PANELS." The model wears a utility belt, labelled with the exchange, "Tucker: UTILITY BELT. Sam: sometimes the Bats have good ideas. Tucker: BASICALLY." Tucker has labelled the elbow and knee pads, "WEAPONIZED POINTY BITS." Danny responded, "nice." Next to the boots, Jay wrote, "Combat boots?" Tucker responded, "WHAT AM I, A SCRUB? OFC." Jason wrote, "Nice"
Below the model is a bust closeup of Jay's costume. It shows a pointy-fronted hood attached to a "vest" that only extends to just under Jay's armpits. Black face paint covers the area over the eyes and a plain mask covers the model's nose and mouth. Danny drew an arrow to the hood and wrote, "Assassin's Creed mfer." Tucker responded, "SHUT," underlined once. On the other side, Sam drew an arrow to the face paint and wrote, "emo." Tucker responded, "SHUT," underlined twice. Beside that, Jay wrote, "Will the hood stay on?" Sam replied, "only time & copious bobby pins will tell."
The third closeup shows Sam's costume in detail on a plain model, in the same one-arm extended pose. She wears a skin-tight undersuit, gloves, a leaf-pattenered scalemail shirt that reaches her elbows, layered pauldrons, an uneven hem overskirt, and knee-high boots. The vague shape of a weapon hangs on her right hip. Above the head, Jay wrote, "hood buddies!"
Around the model are various labels in Tucker's handwriting, including, "LEAF PATTERNED LIGHT SCALE," "GLOVES," "REINFORCED UNDER LEGGINGS (I'M NOT A MONSTER)," and "REINFORCED FABRIC." This last label points to an outstretched arm. Next to her skirt, Tucker wrote, "NOT A MINI SKIRT =]" and Sam responded, "unfortunately, i can't get mad bc i love it." Beside the boots, Sam asked, "steel toe?" When Tucker responded, "TITANIUM TOE," she replied, "hand in marriage."
Below the model is a closeup of a row of the overlapping, slightly curved leaves that make up the scale. Danny wrote, "dude, how many of these did you make?" Tucker replied, "TOO MANY."
To the right of the model is a bust closeup on Sam's hood, pauldrons, and the top of her scalemail shirt. She has the same eye-covering black streak and plain face mask.
The fourth closeup shows the same bust. It also shows a medieval mace, labelled all over in Danny's handwriting. It says, "extra grip," on the handle, as well as "twist here," with a second arrow pointing to the head, labelled "for spikes here." Spikes emerge from half of the mace's head. Below, there's an exchange that reads:
Jay: why don't I get a cool weapon?
Danny: you're 5
Jay: =(
Danny: ...fine
Sam: can i get grippy gloves too?
Danny: ooooh, good idea
Below is a side profile, full-body shot of Sam in costume, hood up. She's lunging forward on one foot, both arms extended. From beneath her scale mail emerge vines, which twine around her arms before shooting forward.
The fifth closeup shows Danny's outfit on the model. It's a slightly baggy wrist-to-ankle jumpsuit and an armored vest, both in blotchy camo. The jumpsuit is tucked into combat boots and gloves, with a utility belt over top and the collar of an undersuit peeking out at the top. Danny has written, "Camo? In my costume? It's more likely than you think." Underneath, Tucker replied, "PRETEND I CAN DRAW, PLS." He's labelled the torso, "REINFORCED CHEST ARMOR." Sam drew an arrow to the mask, which is shaded black with a small fanged grin detail on it. She wrote, "this looks terrifying." Tucker replied, "IT'S SMALL! IT'S HARD TO DRAW!"
The sixth closeup shows a bust. Danny's hair is floofed upwards, black at the roots and white at the tips. His ears are pointed. His mask shows his fanged grin in greated detail, higher on the right side than the left and with overly large incisors. Sam has written, "still terrifying," with an arrow pointing to it. Tucker responded, "FINE HE'LL JUST BE SCARY."
Below, a low-detail head profile shows the mask and Danny's pointy ears from the side. Tucker has labelled it, "HOOKS OVER EARS" with an arrow pointing to straps around the ears and, "CLIPS IN BACK" with a arrow pointing to the base of the skull.
The final closeup shows Danny in costume. His right leg is emerging from shadows on the ground while he steps forward with his left left, knee bent. His left hand rests above his head on a rectangular prism with no added detail. It reaches from ground height to just above Danny's hair. He's reaching forward towards the viewer with us opposite hand.
An exchange written over the prism reads:
Danny: What's my hand on?
Jay: Dumpster, bc you're a trash man.
Danny: Ouch
Sam: oooh, get his ass
Tucker: DAMN, VISCIOUS
Danny: You're grounded
Jay: =(
Danny: You're ungrounded
Jay: =)

Fic Author Self Rec
I got pinged by @murphy-kitt in the fic authors self rec (Thank you!) so here we are a couple of days later.
I actually only have 14 published works on AO3, and one of them is a collab so unlike some I don't have too many to be indecisive over! This did not keep me from being indecisive.
The Horologist's Paradox
Summary: A quiet little domestic lost time oneshot where Danny lives with Clockwork. That doesn't mean that everything is good. Clockwork in particular has some regrets.
Reasoning: This is my most recent complete fic, and there's a bit of a recency bias in my head. But also I love how I balanced the domesticity and Clockwork's inhuman nature in it, and finally managed to include some more of Clockwork's snark in a characterization that still made him care deeply about Danny and be soft with him. The build to Clockwork's fantasy of fixing Danny feels properly slow to me, and I loved writing it -- I wrote most of that fantasy in a single night, compared with a few hundred words here and there for the rest of it.
A confession: I decided on submitting the 'Danny discovers his insides are turning into clockwork' prompt for phight before writing this. The prompt got so far into my brain that I needed to write it (well, something related :)) myself. Well. More than I already had. I do have a lot of WIPs :D
Funerary Rites (ongoing)
Summary: Alternate portal incident. To save his parents' lives, Danny agrees to a deal with the fae who tends the veil after they rend a hole in it.
Reasoning: I'm happy with the writing thus far, but really this is more on my list because of how much I'm looking forward to writing the rest of it. Unlike everything else on this list, this is incomplete and very slow going -- the planned character interactions are difficult to write and it's only going to get worse as things, uh. Get worse. The outline for this thing is 13k words, about 7k of which is specifically for the incident in question. The moment I reread the outline it bores directly into my head again and inflicts me with more Thoughts.
Mare
Summary: Danny goes on a fetch quest to the moon. A ten years later fic, set in a spirit world au somewhat inspired by Natsume's book of friends.
Reasoning: While this fic ended up being about moving on, growing up, (not) letting go, and the fear of change it started as an excuse to just go completely nuts with description, which I consider one of my strong suits in writing. It shows! The pacing here is honey-slow but I still adore a lot of the description I used. I'm going to indulge in copying a scrap from the start, in fact:
At his left, the swells of hills and mountains began to sway, as the boughs of the forest covering it caught in a breeze. In the razor-edged light, the leaves gleamed silver and for long minutes it was as though Danny were flying between not one but two seas: one a mirror, and one of blades. In the real world, neither existed. The lunar soil was barren and dry. But Danny hadn't existed in the real world for a long time.
Cosmic Horror
Summary: Clockwork comforts Danny in the wake of the cloning incident. But Clockwork is not human, nor anything close to it, and his lair is vast and deep.
Reasoning: This was my first published fic for the fandom, and really I'm still fond of it! Again the description here is a strong point but it's less of a vivid spirit world situation and more of an eldritch god that loves Danny situation.
Solanum
Summary:
After she mentions that one of her tomatoes isn't doing well, Danny and Tucker decide to cheer Sam up by sneaking a replacement tomato plant into her greenhouse. It does not go well.
Short and sweet, at just under a thousand words.
Reasoning: Really I just like how light this was, and how fun! Most of my stuff is varying shades of fucked up and most of that is lost time. This is just Danny and Tucker meaning well but not really thinking things through, and not really knowing anything about plants.
As for tags... here are some no-pressure tags:

i dont want this night to end
The new school year is fast approaching, which means that Mateo has to go home for the rest of the break. But Danny and Mateo don't want their time together to end, no matter how short their separation will be. Summer nights always seem to last for an eternity, and Danny plans on making the most of it with the one he loves the most before he has to say goodbye for a little while.
*—*—*—*—*—*
I'm slowly losin' hold of everything I've got...
...All I know is I don't want this night to end
Gonna cuss the mornin' when it comes, 'cause I know that the risin' sun ain't no good for me 'cause you'll have to leave
Part of the the world is having more fun than me (tonight) series.
The firelight danced along the too-green grass, casting mesmerizing shadows along the ground. The sun had long set, leaving only the black sky and the millions of stars visible this far away from the city. Music thumped from someone’s truck, but Danny wasn’t paying attention to it. He couldn’t. There were much more important things to pay attention to.
Like the way Mateo looked in the firelight.
His skin, already so warm, practically glowed in a way entirely different from the way Danny’s did, human and ethereal and impossible to keep his hands off of. The flickers of the flames sent shadows dancing across his face, smoothing away the little scar on his cheekbone, deepening the dimple in the corner of his smile. Danny leaned in and kissed said dimple, drawing Mateo’s lazy smile to him.
“What?” he laughed, tilting his head back to look up at his boyfriend.
And his eyes. Danny had never seen a human’s eyes glow the way Mateo’s did in the firelight. It was hypnotic. They never failed to draw him in. Unable to put words to the mountain of affection clamoring in his Core, he leaned down to press a soft kiss to the edge of Mateo’s mouth.
“Cariño?”
“Nothin’, just thinking about how pretty you look right now,” he murmured, kissing a line down his jaw to his neck. Mateo giggled and shoved at his shoulder.
“You’re drunk, fantasmito.”
“I resent that,” Danny huffed, straightening up so he could look at Mateo as his eyes slowly shaded teal, a smile tugging at his lips. “I think about how pretty you are when I’m sober too.”
Danny couldn’t help how wide his grin was when Mateo threw his head back to laugh. Danny curled his arm around Mateo’s waist and hauled him into his lap, caging him in with both arms, tucking his chin over his shoulder.
“Eugh, can you guys not be so disgustingly cute?” Tucker asked as he flopped onto the grass next to Danny. Sam sat with more grace on his other side. “Some of us are still woefully single. We can’t all get lucky with our roommates, y’know.”
“Tucker, you’re straight. And your roommate is as straight as Georgia makes ‘em,” Danny said with a laugh. Tucker grumbled something that sounded like still. Sam reached around Danny to slug his shoulder, which quickly devolved into a typical Sam-and-Tucker argument about… nothing in particular.
Mateo tilted his head back so his lips were pressed to Danny’s ear. “Do they even know?”
Danny didn't acknowledge Mateo directly; he just grinned and tightened his arms around him, pressing his face into his neck. His friends could be clueless about their relationship all they wanted. He just wanted to bask in this moment with his boyfriend while he could.
Continue on AO3.

Danny! (for the character thing)
My NOTP for them:
Amethyst Ocean (Sam/Danny) 100%. No shade to anyone who ships that, but I fucking hate them together lol Absolutely nothing about their individual personalities makes me think they would work romantically. My BROTP for them:
I honestly don't think I have one. Double Trouble (Danny & Dani) maybe. My OTP for them:
Guess lol It's Pompous Pep (Vlad/Danny). Obviously XD My second choice pairing for them:
This one's a toss up between Swagger Bishie (Dash/Danny), Savant Par (Tucker/Danny), and Phantom Fumble (Kwan/Danny) My fluffy pairing for them:
This one is definitely Phantom Fumble (Kwan/Danny). My angsty pairing for them:
Swagger Bishie (Dash/Danny) probably takes this one. I typically portray this relationship as subtly toxic to downright abusive. My favourite poly ship for them:
Theatrical Grudges (Jack/Vlad/Danny). This is just Danny and Jack fighting over Vlad for the most part, since they both have wildly jealous personalities XD My weirdest pairing for them:
The Wrong Sick (Jack/Danny). I think one of my very first ships when I was like 5 was an incest ship, so you can pry this from my cold, dead hands lmao

Batman AU - Ghostwing
Ok. Listen. Listen. I can’t stop thinking about this so I need to put it out there so other people can maybe think about it too and talk to me about it.
Disclaimer that I still don’t really know anything about batman/the batfamily other than what I’ve picked up from tumblr, tiktok, and cultural osmosis.
Here we go.
This kinda turned into more of a fic than I intended, so I’m putting it under a Read More.
A convention for ghost hunters is held in Gotham because it’s obviously the most haunted place in america. Every single ghost hunter is invited. This, of course, includes the Fentons.
Jack and Maddie are ecstatic and, of course, drag Danny and Jazz along. Vlad wasn’t invited as he is not known in ghost hunting circles but he knows that Maddie and Danny are going to be there, so he goes. (Vlad also goes on the off chance there is something there worth stealing for Valerie.)
So, the Fentons are going, but you know who else is going? Jason Todd, because he thinks it’s funny, Stephanie Brown, because she also thinks it’s funny, and Tim Drake, to see if any of their technology is worth buying/stealing and coopting into batsuits.
The batkids step in and do a double take to make sure they didn’t walk into a Rogues Gallery meeting-in-process. Everyone is there, the Fentons, the Guys-in-White, is that millionaire Vlad Masters skulking around in the back? But they are well trained and take everything in like good vigilante’s wood. Jason and Steph bounce around from booth to booth, mocking the ghost hunters under their breath or to their faces, and generally aim for the people who seem the craziest. They land on the Fenton’s because someone set Jack off on a tirade.
Jason clocks Jazz’s unimpressed demeanor and Danny shrinking himself in the corner while doing homework with far more desperation than required. His eyes narrow a bit when he notices how the red head seems to be distracting the Fenton’s away from the boy.
Danny is not having a good time and it shows. He’s grateful to Jazz for playing defense for him but he just really wants to go home. This much weaponized ecto-energy in an enclosed space is making him twitchy, and he knows if this convention goes on for too long, Technus or Skulker are bound to show up. He already spotted Vlad lurking, trying to get his mom alone while avoiding his dad’s attention, and firmly shoved himself further into the back corner of the booth. He couldn’t get away, but it made it easier for Jazz to keep everyone else away. He was alternating doing homework and texting Dani, who had been to Gotham before. His head snaps up when he feels someone staring at him and locks eyes with someone whose eyes are faintly glowing green. He hisses, which draws Jazz’s attention.
Jason sees the kid notice him and say something to the girl, the both of them watching him while the boy texts without looking. Jason and Steph share a look before edging around the booth to get to the kids.
Vlad also sees a shift and decides to give up drawing Maddie away to talk to Daniel. He goes up with a practice smile and attempts to move a stubborn Jazz out of the way subtly.
“Jasmine. How lovely to see you. And Daniel, my boy-”
“Not your boy, Vlad.” Danny growls, uncurling himself to stand beside his sister.
“Oh come now-”
“What are you doing here, Mr. Masters?” Jazz says with the lift of an eyebrow. Her arms uncross to hang loose at her sides, but the batkids watching can see the outline of some kind of baton in her pocket.
“Oh, certainly I can visit friends?” Master’s was attempting to skirt the girl, Jazz, but she absolutely was not having it.
“Funny, your only friend here is dad and you seem to be avoiding him.” The boy spit out. Masters’ smile dropped like a gargoyle off of a parapet.
“Daniel...” the man said with the worst attempt at menace Jason had witnessed in a long time.
“I think you should get going, Uncle Badtouch.” Jason said, inserting himself between Masters and the kids. “Wouldn’t want anyone to think you were creeping on some kids.”
Vlad looks affronted for a moment, before his eyes turn calculating as he stares at Jason’s face.
“Have we met?” He asks.
“Thankfully not.” Jason growls, eyes starting to glow just a bit more for emphasis. Strangely, Masters seems calmer, more enthusiastic instead of scared. Jason only subconsciously notices the boy, Daniel?, out of the corner of his eye, texting frantically.
“Surely we must have. For people like us, all we have is each other.” Masters tries to purr. Tries.
“What the fuck are you on? There’s no way we are even slightly-” he cuts off abruptly when Masters’ eyes change from (whatever color they normally are) to bright, unnatural green, and then back.
“You see?” Vlad chuckles, delighted. “We’re the same, so really both you and Daniel should join me.”
“Literally no one is ever going to join you, Plasmius.” Danny hisses. “Even when you make them they want nothing to do with you, so just leave.”
Vlad is just about to retort when a boom of “Vladdie!” comes from  behind the kids. Masters sneers before slipping away with one final “you will join me one of these days.”
Jason and Steph, now confused about why the boy called Masters Plasmius and what he meant by join him look to the other pair for an explanation. Tim’s also found them after looking over all of the tech.
“Jay, your eyes.” He taps his brother before standing on the other side of Steph from him.
Jazz’s head snaps up from where it had bent over Danny’s phone with him, reading Dani’s texts.
“Mom!” she called, startling her brother and  the woman in question. The batkids watched the blue jumpsuited figure turn to her kids.
“What is it honey, I’m talking experiments.”
“Danny and I have made some friends, we’re going to get a bite to eat with them.” She said, pointing to the batkids who were trying to look like that was exactly what they were doing.
“Ok, have fun!” Maddie immediately turned back to her conversation. “Tell us if you see any Ghosts!” Jack called after them.
Danny and Jazz dragged the three out of the venue and only stopped while they were on the street.
“Right, do you know anywhere we could actually go? preferably someplace populated where Plasmius won’t show up.” She said, turning to the three Gothamites.
“Yeah, I know a place.” Jason took the lead and led the other four to a hole-in-the-wall Mongolian place.
“So, mind telling me what the fuck was all that with uncle badtouch?” Jason started off.
“I’m so calling him that next time I see him.” The boy said.
“We should probably do introductions first. I’m Jazz Fenton.” Jazz said, “and this is my little brother Danny. I already know that you” she gestured to Tim “are Timothy Drake-Wayne, but who are you?”
“I’m Steph, and this is Jay.”
“Right, so?”
Jazz and Danny looked at each other. “Okay.” Danny said slowly. “What is said at this table cannot leave this table. I mean it. Not even our parents know about this and they can’t know about this.”
“Oooooo, keeping secrets from the old people? I’m in.” Jason, Steph, and Tim also quickly agreed.
“So, the think is: I’m a ghost. Well, I’m half-ghost. We’re called halfas.”
“Original.” Tim snorted. Danny just gave him a look.
“That’s why my eyes glow like this.” He demonstrated, going from blue to green and back, “I can also do a full transformation into my ghost form, but that’s kinda flashy. Plasmius, I mean Vlad, is also a halfa and we both thought that Jay was one too because of the eyes.”
“But my eyes don’t change color, they just glow.” Jay said.
“Yeah, most people with green eyes just have them glow when they’re possessed.” Danny shrugs.
Then he launches into an explanation of ghosts, halfas, the ghost zone, and what he-- and to an extent, Jazz-- has been doing in Amity Park as the hero Danny Phantom.
“...And we know you aren’t actually a halfa, because Dani-- that’s Dani with an ‘i’, short for Danielle-- has been to Gotham before and ran into you guys once. So I told you my secret identity because, you know, fairs fair.”
And I kinda ran out of steam, but basically Danny gets a support system in the form of the Batfamily and both he and Jazz eventually get adopted by Bruce because the Fenton’s are criminally negligent. The misunderstandings with Valerie are cleared up and the two of them get back together but this time with ghost-and-crimefighting as part of their relationship. Jazz and Babs hit it off, Valerie’s dad starts working with Lucius Fox, and upon request, each member of the batfamily takes a trip to the Ghost Zone to see their deceased loved ones and talk to them. Just, Danny Phantom becomes Ghostwing (Dani also shows up and stays with them in Gotham, but she doesn’t really crime fight much unless it’s right in front of her or Danny needs help, and no one begrudges her her choices), he and Jazz become part of the batfam, and Vlad spends forever looking for another halfa that doesn’t exist.

Dannymay 2022
Tumblr media
Anddd we're BACK for Dannymay 2022! This year we're switching it up a little bit and decided to include AU Monday where we're featuring a new popular AU each week (plus a bonus day on the 28th). As always for these prompts. you can draw, write, create music, make a video, craft something cool, really whatever you want! Crossovers and OC's are allowed for all prompts!
Whether you just wanna do one prompt or all of them, everyone's welcome to join! This is a fun event first and foremost, so go at your own pace. Once you're done with your creation, post it to Tumblr with the #Dannymay2022 tag so we can see it!
Below the cut, I will give a brief explanation for the 6 AU/HC's included, as well as a few other prompts that need an explanation. I will also put a text list of all of the prompts. If you have any other questions, feel free to send an ask!
AUs/Other Prompts Explained
New Genre/Style: This is a day for you to either draw DP in a new art style, or write a fic in a "genre" that you typically don't write in (example: If you're like me and tend to gravitate towards writing all angst and hurt/comfort fics, then maybe try fluff or crack!).
No One Knows AU: A "what if?" scenario exploring a universe where Danny was alone on the accident (aka no Sam and Tucker). As you can imagine, this has great potential for angst.
Ghost King AU: This is a scenario where Danny becomes the ghost king after defeating Pariah Dark.
Portal AU: -First AU: This is a situation where Danny becomes the portal in the accident. He essentially throws up ghosts. -Second AU: The portal is sentient.
Disabled Danny AU: In this AU, Danny is disabled. Whether he was born that way, as a result of the portal accident or something else. He can be autistic, paralyzed, dyslexic, need a prosthetic limb, etc.
Inverse/Reverse Trio: Role reversal! -Reverse Trio: ghost Sam, nerd Danny, goth Tucker. -Inverse Trio: ghost Tucker, nerd Sam, goth Danny.
Corpse AU: A scenario where when halfas die, they leave behind a body. Maybe Danny/the trio need to hide or bury the body, or someone/the cops find the body, or something else!
Free Day: Including this because we get questions every year about it. This day is a free for all! Write/draw whatever your heart desires so long as it relates to DP!

Can you do a sequel to that first story with Danny and Strange? Maybe one where they team up to face a common foe?
When Danny got out of the Ghost Zone and into the real world, he was expecting his parents to be hard at work, and too distracted to see him coming through. Some days their obliviousness actually came in useful.
Instead, he found them lying on the ground, broken beakers and pieces of an ectogun scattered around them. Danny wasted no time in diving towards them, checking them over for injuries.
Thankfully they were okay. In fact, it looked like they were sleeping. But...They never slept in the lab. And his mom, she's always been a light sleeper. She would wake up at the sound of a pin dropping three blocks away if she thought it had something to do with him or ghosts. She certainly would have stirred by now.
He frowned before putting his parents in their bed and headed to Jazz's room.
Sunlight peaked in through the curtains, and the time on the clock told him it was mid-afternoon. Jazz was an early bird through and through, and had a set schedule that she followed to the T every single day. Her bedtime is 9:30. There's no reason that she, too, would be asleep at her desk.
And, okay, something is definitely wrong. The alarm bells in his head are going off, but he has no idea where to even start. He tries to call Sam and Tucker, but neither of them pick up their phones. Danny can only assume that they're asleep, too. Which means, for better or worse, he's on his own.
Or at least, he thought he was going to be. But then he's engulfed in this bright orange light. He tries to fly out of it, but it snags him and holds him there until he's having to blink the spots out of his eyes. When he gets his bearings, he's facing one Dr. Strange and Wong.
"I thought I told you to stop using that," Danny huffed. "I'm kind of busy right now."
"I believe we have the same goal," Dr. Strange said. He made a motion for Danny to follow him, and because it was towards the exit, he did.
"What's going on?" He asked. Dr. Strange just pinned him with an unimpressed look as he swung the big double doors open.
All around the streets there were people sleeping. In cars, in their buildings, and even in their soups if the guy across the street was anything to go by. It was just like his parents and Jazz. But...But this was New York. He was in Amity. How could one guy have that big of a reach?
"Who are we going up against?" Danny asked, getting straight down to business.
"His name is Nightmare," Wong answered. "He's a mystical being who feeds off the fear from nightmares."
"Like...Dream vore?" Danny asks. Dr. Strange and Wong share a briefly confused look.
"I...Don't know what that is," Strange says. Danny opens his mouth to explain, but the good doctor holds his hand up to stop him from speaking. "I do not want to know what that is. But I'm assuming the answer to your question is yes."
"Well, okay. If he's a magic villain then why did you call me? My specialty is ghosts."
"This is an all hands on deck situation, and you were the first one to answer the phone," Strange explains.
"But you didn't even call me!" Danny cries out.
"Are you with us or not?"
Danny crosses his arms over his chest and huffs. "Of course I'm with you. What kind of superhero would I be if I wasn't?"
-------------
Nightmare's realm was, oddly enough, the opposite of what it implied. Sure, there were ghouls and shades whipping around them, and they were driving Danny's ghost sense crazy. But beyond that, it was bright and colorful, and if it were under better circumstances, he could almost say beautiful, in a tacky sort of way. Like a movie theater carpet.
They were separated almost as soon as they entered. Dr. Strange and Wong tried to go head to head, but the shades around them were restraining them, and weighing them down with their own fears. Exploiting them to the point where they were on their knees.
The shades, though, seemed to be giving him a wide berth. Danny wasn't one to ever look a gift horse in the mouth, so he whirled around, one glowing fist at the ready.
But he stopped mid-swing.
Because standing there, instead of Nightmare and his mount, were his parents.
Was this his greatest fear? He had always thought, in the corner of his mind, that it would be Dan. That it would be him going crazy and turning on the world. It was images of his new super hero friends crushed beneath his boot as he casually took out another city full of skyscrapers.
Instead of Dan, though, it was his parents.
They were looking at him expectantly, like they were for once hanging on Danny's every word, though he can't say why. There's this ball of anxiety that buzzes in his chest and buries itself deep within him.
Because...Because he's imagined this conversation. It plays on a loop in his head with a variety of outcomes. His fears twist them into bad outcomes-the worst, even, more often than not. He knows deep down that his parents love him more than they hate Phantom, but when you hear your father talking about tearing your alter ego apart 'molecule by molecule' it was more than enough to make one hesitate.
"Awe, little Daniel Fenton too scared to tell his parents the truth," Nightmare crooned behind him. Danny grimaced as his gaze flicked between his parents and the villain. "Too afraid to tell them they killed you. To afraid to see their rejection."
Rejection. That's probably why they're here and not Dan. He's been rejected by people who don't matter his whole life. Dash and the rest of the A-listers. Teachers who turn a blind eye to the bullying. And though she's still very important to him, Valerie had rejected him too, after a while. He still finds himself lucky that Sam and Tucker had stuck around after he became a creepy little boy with creepy little powers.
"Is there something you wanted to tell us, sweetie?" His fake mother asked. Her voice was as sweet as it always was, and encouraging too. His father beamed right back at him.
"You can tell us anything, son! Whatever it is, we'll be there with you every step of the way!"
Danny took a step forward, opening his mouth to speak, but there was an impossibly large lump in his throat. How could he put his accident on their hands? How could he taint their hands with his own blood and ectoplasm when it had been his fault that he died? Because he knew that they would blame themselves. It was their invention after all, but it was Danny's carelessness that put the final nail in his own coffin.
In front of him, his parents smiled at him encouragingly. Behind him, Nightmare continued to taunt him. And...Well, the only way he's going to beat Nightmare is to get this over with. By overcoming his greatest fear. By accepting the fact that there's a small chance they won't accept him anymore.
He takes another deep breath, takes a step forward, and musters all the courage he can. He's fought Pariah Dark for time's sake. He's the king of the fucking Ghost Zone. Surely, he can just spit this little secret out.
"Mom, Dad," he says. His voice wavers, and his hands shake, but his parents are still there, still encouraging him to speak up.
"Yes, sweetie?" His mom asks. Her patience has always been never ending.
"I'm...I'm Phantom."
He watched as their faces go through the five stages of grief in quick succession. And it's this part that it the worst, he thinks. The words are always easy to say but it's the waiting right after that makes him doubt his very existence. It feels like he's on the edge of a cliff, and his parents approval is the only thing keeping him from falling backwards into a crushing ravine below.
He waited for what felt like an eternity. Every part of his being told him to run away, to scream and hide and get out. But he didn't. Because if he did, Nightmare would win, and he would never have the chance of escaping Nightmare's realm, and he would never be able to protect Amity from ghosts. He would never be able to speak to his family or friends, much less see them.
So he planted his feet and looked his parents dead in the eye. His skin was crawling with anxiety, but he held firm. And after what seemed like hours, his father's face broke into a huge grin.
"Finally decided to join the family business, aye Danny-boy?" His father laughed.
"Though it is a rather...uncouth method, we're proud of the work that you've done so far. And we're so, so proud that you came to us about this," his mother says.
Danny wants to cry. From relief or frustration, he's not sure. Because now that he knows their answer, knows deep down this is going to be their true reaction, he could have told them a lot sooner. Could have saved him nights of tossing and turning in fear of his parent's reactions.
But before he even gets the chance, they fizzle out of existence. He turns around to Nightmare, who's screaming with the fury of a thousand men.
Danny lifts into the air, hovering over him. He lets his rings wash over him, but instead of transforming him from Phantom to Fenton, he remains as Phantom. Though now, he is decorated with his Cape of Constellations and a crown of ice floating above his head.
"Nightmare," he says. His voice echoes over nonexistent surfaces, and every ricochet makes the magical being flinch. "I'm sure I don't need to explain to you what comes next."
"You-you're a child!" Nightmare calls to him. "You can't defeat me!"
"No," Danny agrees. He looks back at Dr. Strange and Wong, who are being tied down by shades. He waves his hand, pressing his aura onto them. They fade immediately, and stand to action. He turns back to Nightmare with a small smirk. "But they can."
-------------
"So, you really are the ghost king," Wong tells him in awe as they walk back into the Sanctum. Danny just shrugs and adjusts his cape.
"Pariah invaded my home town with his skeleton army last year," he explains. "It was either stop him or be enslaved by him. Not much of a choice, you know?"
"Still, that's amazing, for somebody so young to be so accomplished."
Danny ducks his head at the compliment.
"Thanks," he tells them. "But...I have something I need to go do."
Wong and Dr. Strange thank him once more, and they promise to actually text him next time. And then, just like the first time, he disappears into the night.
"Aw," Wong says after a moment. Strange raises and eyebrow at his friend, confused. Wong just shrugs. "I forgot to ask him how his midterm went."
---------
Danny braces himself as he opens the door. He's tired. It had been an all-night flight from new York to Amity, since he was already running on fumes.
He's met with his overdramatic father and his overprotective mother smothering him in hugs and kisses, and despite how tired he is, it gives him enough strength for what comes next.
"Mom, Dad, there's something I have to tell you."

I'm not saying I'm making anything for the Hon AU aside from the occasional doodle and (hopefully soon) some drabbles however i do want to at least make a list of episodes that would be changed in the AU for various reasons
this will also be updated like the other list i have going on with what danny calls other people in the au
I'm gonna probably give some reasonings as to why it would change too and since it probably will get longer at some point gonna just pre-emptively put it under a read more
My Brother's Keeper - so i already talked about it briefly but the biggest change is that this would be the first appearance of the other form i made for Danny (tw for some slight body horror with his mouth). I haven't decided on whether Jazz would suck Spectra into the thermos and then calm danny down (thereby revealing much earlier that she knows hes half ghost) or if danny would come back to himself and suck spectra into the thermos.
Shades of Gray - nothing huge here but i kind of want to give cujos big form fangs like a haetae.
Fanning the Flames - again nothing huge here but people assuming phantom is a kpop idol just amuses the hell outta me so just a little extra speculation for the people in amity park
Control Freaks - there could be another appearance of the other form of danny (i really don't have a name for it? i gotta brainstorm on that) instead of the red sunken eyes (i love them too but they may have to go) it could be the green and blue ones i gave him in that pic
Memory Blank - hoh boy ok with the added info of sam telling danny to check out the inner workings of the portal shed have to get him well in advance before he leaves to go visit family and talk to tucker about hemming in the design for his jokki and jeogori. girls got her work cut out for her
Doctor's Disorders - >:3c hello lost(? cause he loses control of himself) danny i missed you
Reign Storm - …I'm gonna be honest i don't remember a whole lot I'm in the middle of rewatching the series and this is where i left off BUT I FEEL LIKE. SMTH MAY CHANGE? IDK WELL SEE AFTER I WATCH IT
Identity Crisis - oh this would be fucking hilarious. phantom is still 100% of the hero type but i want him to be? somewhat serious i suppose meanwhile danny tries to throw himself into being an astronaut because "hey I'm not a ghost anymore! i can focus on that!"
The Ultimate Enemy - alright alright this one probably ill just make its own post at some point BUT I'M SURE THERE WILL BE SOME CHANGES
Secret Weapons - honestly the only thing id want to change is when danny blows up to jazz, he says it to her in korean instead of english
Flirting with Disaster - the rumor come out! king loves gray ghost? yes yes i do just turn it into a fucking kdrama
and this is where i gotta stop cause god i barely remember anything past this point

Hero League War: Clip
Based of my old friend goofyzachy's old story "Hero League" but my casting is different. If anybody wants pick up this idea from the pavement I've left it on they have my blessing, just keep me in the loop so I can read it.
Two figures landed into the murky waters of the dark and dank sewers.
"So yeah, the omnitrix latched itself onto my wrist even though it was intended for my Grandpa Max. I like to think that makes me the lucky one in family (despite what Gwen might say). I have something called the ultimatrix now which is a fine substitute but I still prefer the original. So because I have all these aliens I can basically do anything."
The first figure was reasonably tall with a bright green jacket on that had the number 10 on it. A strange alien device was attached to his wrist, it was a shade of green which matched his jacket. This was Ben Tennyson a superhero well know by most of the world.
"Except shut up apparently."
The second figure was dressed in black jumpsuit with white gloves, boots, and a symbol on his chest which was a D with a P inside of it. His skin was a little pasty but he wasn't quite as tall as the green dressed figure. His most notable features was that he had snow white hair and glowing green eyes.
This was Danny Phantom, more of a local ghost hero to the people of Amity Park. If it was up to him he wouldn't be working with Ben at all, he much preferred working with his friends Tucker and Sam. Ben's ego was wearing thin with him as it was and Danny wasn't sure how much more bragging he could take.
His hand was glowing with an eerie green light that lighted their way.
"Wow! Were you this cranky when you were alive?"
"I never died."
"Seriously? With all the ghostliness and spooky powers? So what, did you get your powers from a deal with a witch doctor or something?"
"No. Magic has nothing to do with my powers."
They turned a corner leading into a larger room. With four different tunnels to choose from in this room Danny decided to take the upper left one.
"A cursed family heirloom? Which, I don't know, gave you a connection to the other side?"
Danny rolled his eyes.
"Not unless a man made portal is considered an heirloom... and 'other side' means a ghostly plain of reality."
Ben stopped walking, when Danny stopped hearing his footsteps he stopped too.
"Wait! You're not one of those kooks who got his powers from a lab accident are you?"
Danny turned to Ben and smiled.
Ben got closer to Danny. "Are you frigging' kidding me?! How can you call yourself a ghost if you aren't dead?!"
Danny stood in silence, his face completely blank.
Then he held up Ben's ultimatrix and eyed it over.
"Can this even be called a watch if it can't tell time?"
Ben was shocked to find that his ultimatrix was off his wrist and in Danny's hands. Danny continued to inspect it as Ben's jaw dropped.
"Wait! How did you..."
Danny held up one of his hands and made it intangible. "An alien watch that's keyed to YOUR DNA... is still just a watch."
Ben snatched the ultimatrix out of Danny's hands and slapped it back onto his wrist.
"You WON'T be doing that AGAIN!"
Ben glared furiously at Danny, as if daring him to try.
Danny smirked.
"Unless you need another ego check."
Ben gritted his teeth and grabbed Danny's shoulder. "That does it, Casper! Time you saw what this thing can REALLY do!"
Without warning Danny pushed Ben against the wall, covered his mouth with his hand, issued a shushing gesture with his finger, and turned them both invisible.
Down the tunnel, into a large room with multiple pipes, a large black octopus monster entered. Of course 'octopus' was a loose term here since only its head with tentacle arms resembled an octopus. It stood on two legs, its arms just barely missed touching the ground, and as stated earlier it was black from head to toe. Ben would have been reminded of Vilgax or even Dagon if it hadn't been for the giant eyeball in the center of its head.
Both heroes grimaced as the eyeball opened up horizontally and vomited out black slime all over the wall. The beast fell to his knees exhausted but somehow proud of the work it had done.
Ben pushed Danny off making them both visible again. "Maybe now we can get some answers."
"Wait, Ben! Something doesn't feel right about this!"
The black goop sprouted eyeballs all over it which started to blink red.
"That thing's a bomb and he just armed it!"
The blinking started to blink faster and Ben quickly activated his watch.
"Glory to LORD CTHULHU!"
FLASH!
KABOOM!
An explosion went off but it never left the room, for Ben had transformed into Diamondhead and put up a wall made of crystal between himself and the monster.
Danny came out into the open and Ben lowered the wall.
"What in the name of juice is a Cthulhu?"
Ben slapped his chest and changed back into his normal self.
"No doubt the boss in charge. Wanted to take our lives with this weird bio bomb." Danny gestured to the now charred mess on the wall. "Definitely not something from the Ghost Zone."
"Ultimatrix, command function override! Code 10!"
"**Override accepted! Voice command activated!**"
"Ultimatrix, scan organism for home planet origin!"
"Your ultimatrix can do that?" Danny asked.
"I picked it up from another version of myself from an alternate dimension."
"..."
"...I've had a lot of adventures."
"**Unable to scan DNA**"
"That's not right! The Ultimatrix contains over 1,000,000 DNA samples inside it! Even if it was a DNA sample from some unknown alien it would have been able to scan and acquire it!"
"If it can't figure it out than maybe this is from outside our universe. And if it's from another universe than maybe it's magic."
"Magic? Like that guy on TV with the pink jacket?"
"Steven Universe."
"You've met him?"
Danny frowned.
"No... but I've looked into him. His diamond powers are..."
Ben smirked and held up his Ultimatrix. "Not gonna be a match for the legendary Ben Tennyson!"
"... We'll see. For now, we need to get this thing analyzed."
