Mermaids and Mermen

Happy Mermay!

1. Scientist works at a rehabilitation facility for injured cryptids and creatures. They’re newest addition to the family is a mer, something they’ve never seen at the facility before.

2. The Pirate Captain has always seen mers as pests. If they’re not trying to drown his men, they’re damaging the ship’s hull or throwing them off course. His policy has always been cannon fire or harpoons, but everything changes when he’s is forced overboard by a mutinous crew in the middle of pod of mermaid.

3. Merperson has made a life for themself as a human in the west, far away from the sea that holds the secret of their true form. But when a potion shipment involving sea water prompts them to transform, they must do their best to conceal the truth from the wild west’s many cutthroats and opportunists while searching for a new spell to get their legs back.

4. It’s a royal alliance like any other, a prince and princess arranged in marriage for the peace and good of their kingdoms. Except one is a human and the other a merperson. As the Mer is the heir to the throne, it’s obvious it should be the human who moves to their kingdom. Underwater. The mers assure them that it’s an entirely possible though admittedly painful transformation process.

5. Mer is the property of an underground fighting ring where different sea creatures are pitted against each other for the gambling amusement of the pirates and fisherman that come into port. Mer has become hardened and savage, never hesitating to tear someone or something apart before they get torn apart first. But when a fresh mer is captured, Mer recognizes them, and they’ll do anything to protect them.

6. Mer is the property of an underground fighting ring where different sea creatures are pitted against each other for the gambling amusement of the pirates and fisherman that come into port. Though they’ve become hardened and savage, they have also grown close to one of their competitors. Though they’re forced to fight often, they tend to each others wounds outside the ring and pray their handlers never realize they’re pulling their punches.

7. The villain tries to feed the hero to the captive carnivorous mers swimming beneath their floors. Joke’s on them though, because one of these mers is the hero’s long lost lover and they’ve been looking for them everywhere.

8. When their parents were hunted and killed, a whale type mermaid is adopted by regular mermaids as a baby. Despite the massive—pun intended—accommodations made to shelter them, their adopted family has always been determined to make sure they are loved and taken care of. But that doesn’t stop Mer from having problems with other mers or from wondering about their own kind.

9. A carnivorous mer and a herbivore mer are captured and sold to a collector. Despite their differing instincts and backgrounds, they must rely on each other to find freedom.

10. A mer from the deep sea is washed ashore in a small fishing village. Though their unconventional appearance makes them abhorrent to many of the townspeople, a visiting scholar takes the displaced mer into their home and offers them kindness, as well as a few hundred questions.

hi : ) I am new to this fandom ( new as in new to start reaching out to the other fans not prongsfoot shipping-wise ). I have been a simp for them since like when I was 20? And believe me I am waaaaay older now xD and I am very happy to c other ppl love this ship because it certainly needs more attention. ❤ The potential between Sirius and James is so great that I dunno how to describe, like to me, they do absolutely anything ( and I mean that ) to have each other and not fall apart. Like, James is trying to woo lily and he keeps showing off in front of her but the moment Sirius tell him to - stop - he listens and obeys, no questions asked xD it is kinda funny in this sense tbh, like Sirius has him and his huge ego on the leash ( although he is not better than James in that matter anyway) . Tbh though, I think that James would do anything to have Sirius's attention on him, even if it means by him stop showing off and Sirius scolding him ( softly of course ) like, most ppl always HC that Sirius is a dramatic attention seeker but I think it more applies to James. Also, for some reason I always thought that James has a more darker side than Sirius. Everyone going all about the Black family madness but true as it may be, to me James has the same dark side ( maybe even more ) although it's not running in the family like Blacks. It is more like a deep bitter cesspool of savage feelings for him cause he is very sentimental when it comes to Sirius and down right obsessive and possessive. I get it that most of the fandom think other way but I guess I have a soft spot for a lovelorn James who cannot let Sirius walk away/move on/ even take single step further without him, despite the fact that he himself flirts with lily. Like, he has been spoiled and pampered all his life, so whatever he wants he should get and that's that ( in his opinion) .

i’m totally w you on the ‘james would do absolutely anything for sirius’ train. that scene literally lives rent free in my head bc it’s so fkn antithetical to what arrogant teenage boys are like i’m just,,,,, like. anyone who’s tried saying no to one would understand how difficult it is—they’re brimming w defensiveness and bravado and a need to be contrary no matter what. the fact that james just,,,listened? to sirius? just like that? it tells me A. it’s not the first time. the lack of hesitation shows he’s used to and not bitter about occasionally following sirius’ lead and B. there’s absolutely zero defensiveness or bitterness. he’s not showing off or acting like he’s mightier than he is. and that’s so precious. because it shows his level of comfort with sirius? how he’s willing to give up on all pretences and doesn’t even care. (i kinda hc james as someone who’s concerned with his image? not in a self absorbed sense but more of a golden child way where they like to be in good graces at all times)

also okay that’s so interesting bc i’ve never seen anything like that before. i’ve definitely seen a similar characterisation of sirius who’s possessive and wants james at all times (he hexed lily bald in it lmao) and he’s toeing the line of morality but to have it flipped onto james? 👀 definitely needs some cognitive restructuring on my part but i don’t hate it, hey. the bit about him being a pampered little fuck who expects everything he wants to be his is definitely the part that convinces me. you can have these little instances of like, james being an absolute asshole to people because they’re trying to get sirius’ attention (which, ofc, they won’t get bc they’re not james) or he deliberately sabotages others’ attempts at asking s out on a date. it’s a toxic, codependent, unhealthy dynamic bc u just know both of them will be as intensely passionate about the other and i absolutely adore it.

is there anything better than a ‘i’ll burn the world down for you’ relationship tho?

"I can see dead people." He mentions with a shrug, using the chopsticks to fish more noodles into his mouth.

Dick stares at him. "Huh."

"Is that why you help?" He asks, getting more spring rolls.

"Yeah. Once someone becomes a ghost, word gets out quick, and they come to me. Always tatling about unfairness and justice." The kid waves the words around, rolling his eyes.

Dick just pretens to he uninterested, despite his mind racing at the new info. He is piecing past moments together, every shadow leaping away, every note with tips, leads and—

Huh.

"Do you... like it? Doing all that?" Richard approaches thus carefully, brows furrowed at the kid opposite of him.

Danny moves his head, giving a 'so-so' answer. "It's not much to like, I can see ghosts, and they know it and use it. If it brings them to peace or whatever– well, that's just a plus."

Dick stares. He places his chopsticks down and looks at Danny worried.

In turn, the kid sighs. "Sometimes gifts become curses the longer you have it."

And Dick understands.

Mind made up, he throws a pair of keys at the kid, watching fondly as the other catches them with confusion.

"Next time use these, instead of entering through the window."

Danny mock-salutes with a shit eating grin. "Yes, Officer grayson."

Been a while since I wrote a prompt. Let's change that!

Pen Pals

Red Hood comes across Cujo somewhere in Gotham (location and reason like feeding off of ambient ectoplasm, looking for a new toy, lost, etc are your choice). At first, he's kinda freaked out over this pup that glows Lazarus Pits green but slowly learns that Cujo is relatively harmless as long as no one threatens him or anyone under his protection. Kinda hard not to learn that since Cujo has been glued to his side ever since he found the pup roaming the streets at night.

Cujo eventually gets into Red Hood's good books when the sweet little pup turns into a rottweiler the size of a small house and nearly bites the Joker's head off due to him being his usual creepy, rancid self.

Once he's gotten comfortable enough around the strange dog, he gets close enough to spot a tag/nameplate that reads the pup's name along with "Belongs to Phantom" scratched onto the back in messy handwriting.

He thinks nothing of it until Cujo starts getting restless and Red Hood gets the feeling that he'll be leaving Gotham soon. So, given the dog is clearly supernatural and his tag had no contact information, he assumes Cujo is basically a free roam pet and is able to get back to his owner on his own.

The night before he feels Cujo is going to leave, he ties a letter to the pup's collar. The next night, Cujo is gone.

Weeks pass and he thinks of Cujo often, wondering if he made it back to his owner. If his owner got the letter. If this "Phantom" is similar to him. He doesn't think just anyone owns a Lazarus green dog that reeks of death magic.

It's not until he's out on patrol one night, almost two months later, that Cujo suddenly appears and barrels into his stomach. As the excitable pup slobbers kisses all over his helmet, he sees an envelope covered in stickers attached to Cujo's collar.

Looks like he's got himself a pen pal.

ID: Shen Qingqiu from scum villain's self-saving system saying "The masculine urge to mold myself into a blimp and fly Binghe to wherever his little heart desires <3" while in the back Shang Qinghua from the same novel says "this is not a masculine urge this is not any urge you are Clinically Insane" while looking extremely confused.

Danny and Damian are twins but they get separated at age 7, years later when they’re both 14 they both are going to high school and their schools decide to create a program where they wind up as pen pals to each other unknowing that they’re talking too each other as it’s been set up to be anonymous. Danny decides to take a leap of faith and encrypts a message about the media blackout around his town and how they’re overrun with ghosts and could use the Justice Leagues help through out all of his letters knowing that very few could actually understand it but he just felt so tired and this was the only way he could think to get any help for his town.

Damian just wonders who exactly his pen pal is to encrypt these letters like this.

Jason and Jazz becoming friends through a pen pal thing at school that would send emails and letters back and forth—even after the project ended—until one day when Jazz never got a reply to one of her letters, she kept sending them despite not getting a reply up until she moves out from home and to Gotham for college.

Jason never got to reply because he had died and Bruce and Alfred didn’t have the heart to open letters that were for Jason and couldn’t bring themselves to actually write to this kid who was Jason’s pen pal. If they had actually read the letters they would have learned that Amity Park was overrun with ghosts and that Jazz was scared for her baby brother and living in a very neglectful home. They would have learned that Jazz was lonely and that she missed her friend and that the only think keeping her sane are these letters that she is writing to her one and only friend, Jason.

When Jason finally starts talking to the family and even goes to a few dinners—that usually end poorly, but we won’t talk about that!—and Alfred gives him a pile of envelopes tied together neatly addressed to him in numerical order. Jason is confused for a second until it clicks and these were from Jazz and that she had never stopped sending him letters. He takes them home and cry’s for a bit because his friend never stopped writing him, even when he was dead. Then Jason READS THEM!!! And becomes increasingly concerned after each letter ranging in detail and severity such as, “my home town is being overrun by the undead,” to “I’m scared for my brothers safety, Jason.”

And then the final one saying, “now that my brother has graduated high school Im taking him and moving to Gotham, this will be my last letter. You are my best friend!”

CW: Blood, buried alive, captivity

1. A recently turned commoner hides from the mobs in an abandoned mansion, only to find that it is not so abandoned after all. It is the family home of a very fancy and wealthy reclusive vampire.

2. A vampire joins a group of hunters in order to avoid suspicion, reluctantly allowing their own kind to die in order to save themselves. But when they’re found out and blackmailed by a recent catch, they must do what they can to keep from being exposed.

3. Vampire is a captive to a group of humans who use them as a guard dog against other monsters. They manipulate them into thinking that they wouldn’t stand a chance going out into the world on their own, but when they are found by a vampire from a nearby clan, they’re tempted for the first time to leave.

4. A vampire who only drinks the blood of animals tries to convince their more traditional partner to switch blood sources.

5. Two ancient vampires adopt all the new turned vampires they can find, growing a very large, caring vampire found family.

6. A very nervous vampire who does their best to go unseen by humans meets a confident vampire that gets kicks out of terrorizing or flirting with humans.

7. A blood-drinking vampire begins to have feelings for a person who keeps appearing in their dreams, a psychic vampire who is feeding off their dreams.

8. A vampire is interred in the old graveyard, crossed over the throat with a sickle, staked with iron, and overlaid with poppy seeds. But the townspeople were not counting on their lover, just as vampiric and twice as blood-thirsty.

9. Two vampires find themselves entombed together and must work together to escape.

10. Two prestigious vampire families agree to an arranged marriage between their children. Being of equal status and “good blood”, they are each others’ ideal match. Though the couple themselves may not be so convinced.

Oh my gosh, I just watched The Summer I Turned Pretty (you probably haven't heard of it) and I want to request that with Sirius as Belly, now realizing that he's incredibly attractive trying to have a great summer at his family's beach house and country club and James is a mix of Jeremiah and Conrad as new hot guy whose family just showed up to the scene. So summer romance vibes with fun rich Black family (Regulus, Andromeda, Bellatrix, Narcissa, any other cousins/family, etc.) Beach bonfire parties, Quidditch games, and that debutante ball.

I just want high society magical summer romance, no war, and muscle James, cause that's my favorite version, and the beach one you wrote with Harry was cute.

i do know the show you talked about (v wattpad right?) and i fully get the vibe ur going for here. i love it too! carefree and chill and just teens (young adults?) having fun w frivolous drama and low stakes. yum.

i wish i could write something like this but i fear it’s completely out of my capability :((( i wouldn’t even know where to start, tbh, and i don’t think i’m creative/witty enough do this justice.

Ways to fill up a notebook☆

As a notebook lover, I always buy new notebooks and leave them empty for ages! But now I've found ways to fill them up and I wish to share them with you guys too<3

Diary! Nothing beats a regular daily diary! Permanently saving your memories is such a comforting thought

List notebook. Any list you might need in one place! Shopping list, tbr, shows and movies to watch! Just perfect!

A silly small sketchbook! Even if you aren't an artist, having a place to express yourself with art is pretty relaxing and rewarding!

A daily to do list notebook. I used to have one of these and I could really see improvement in my discipline and self control in daily habits!

Scrap book! It's such a fun way to spend time! If you have a printer to print photos, it's even better!

Something I call, free space. A sketchbook-Scrapbook-Journal hybrid. I have a notebook where I draw, save random "trash" (my treasure) and spill all of my thoughts into. I try to keep it as visually unpleasing as possible so I don't feel pressured to make everything pretty, and I suggest that to you too!

If you're an artist, this is for you. A notebook for anatomy practice. Despite the place, practice is practice and it will help you improve!

Now this one is a bit overkill, but a create your new activity book. Every week, print, create or draw pages for your future self to be entertained!

Self reflection! Have a notebook specifically to see how you're doing mentally and if you're improving or not!

Now there are thousands of posts that say specifically how to fill up notebooks. This is a bit broader and "umbrella term" type ideas. Regardless I really hope you consider these useful and end up using them!
