Reverse Amnesia AU

(aka "Everyone lies except - for once - The Sheriff.) Sharing this old wyler prompt from Valentine's Day 2023 written with a few people but mostly @nonamemanga:

Wednesday pushes Donovan Galpin out of the way of Laurel's car after Laurel killed the coroner (before she actually runs Mayor Walker over), saving the Sheriff's life. The moment she pushes him, she gets a vision of Xavier calling her toxic in episode eight, so she then fails to get out of the way herself, and the car slams into her head-on.

Wednesday's a little woozy due to her head hitting the asphalt, but ultimately she's alright; just bumps and bruises. However, she's just disoriented enough that Donovan manages to bundle her into the police cruiser and rush her to the local hospital with the lights on. The siren does not help her headache from her profusely bleeding head wound. The Sheriff thinks she's seriously hurt and is totally panicking.

At the hospital, Donovan is brimming with guilt as he waits to hear from the doctors. He already felt kind of bad for arresting her and her whole family, and now she was seriously injured saving his life. Once he's allowed to, he approaches her in her hospital bed, hat in hands and he's nearly crying as he tells her:

"Wednesday, I know we've had our differences, but thank you, and if there's anything you need…"

And Wednesday panics, she can't deal with him trying to get his emotions all over her, so she immediately yells out, "I don't know you!!" in the hopes that a doctor will escort the 'strange man' out of her room. No one hears her but Donovan immediately assumes her head wound is worse than anyone thought and calls for nurses. Wednesday decides to run with this. She can pretend to have amnesia for a few hours and then once everyone is calmed down and she's not at risk of being cried on she can miraculously recover. The perfect plan.

Weems shows up (the hospital called her, Donovan forgot because he behaves like a lunatic in times of stress) and immediately begins fussing. Weems has the whackest priorities but doesn't actually wish her students any harm and there is a head wound. Wednesday reinforces her amnesiac defence so that Weems will stop trying to touch and comfort her.

Meanwhile, Tyler has received the following texts from his dad:

When he shows up at the hospital just to see what's going on, and hears what happened, it instantly twigs for him that: his master tried to murder his father, and that Wednesday is now about to be a real target because she actually stopped Laurel from doing something she wanted (I do not think there's any way Laurel told Tyler her whole Crackstone plan. He's a goon-puppet, not her equal) so Tyler doesn't know she will be kept alive for a while.

Tyler thinks he needs to stick around Wednesday now to protect her and that she has amnesia. So, he launches into a long lie about them secretly dating for "weeks now, really." so that he can stay until the nurses kick them out.

Wednesday is gobsmacked and a little suspicious that her ultra-vanilla not-boyfriend is lying about this, and that he's so good at it both Weems and Donovan are eating out of his hand. It's impressive. While Tyler coos about wishing she'd waited for him so he could have safely driven her home she plans to continue faking her amnesia until she figures out why Tyler would lie about them being together.

They've been there for a few hours when they get the call that Wednesday's parents won't drive down to visit because Morticia knows that Wednesday is fine, lying about the amnesia and only got hit because of a vision, not the epileptic fit that Donovan described to the doctors. Wednesday demands to go back to school, this hospital gown is blue, goddamn it. Wednesday knows her mother probably had a vision about the truth of what happened but everyone is heartbroken on Wednesday's behalf.

Enid, when Wednesday finally returns to her dorm with Tyler in tow and he explains about the amnesia, also decides to put a spin on their relationship. Declaring that they're best friends and "Of course I knew about the secret relationship!" she insists, while manically typing a blog post with one hand, "I'd never betray your trust and tell other people before you were ready, and when I planned your birthday party I definitely remembered to invite him, and not just other students you never hang out with! Sorry you don't remember but I did a good job!" She glares at Tyler when Wednesday looks away but he's not going to look a gift horse in the mouth as Enid is backing him up.

Wednesday is baffled.

Crack option: When asked by Enid about the car accident Wednesday says she "saw Xavier, and then the car hit her" in a purposefully misleading reference to the vision she had. Rumours of him pushing her never totally go away.

Or: A HuaLian Reverse!AU resulting from a very specific canon divergence point.

Well it went off.

He's (somewhat) okay though. As perfect shape as a ghoul can be.

Also the gashes on his head are from scraping his head on the ceiling by accident. And his neck marks are from being strangled by both the other soldiers when he was somewhat human, and being strangled by Stalker.

Not to make light of how much your situation must fucking suck, because I have lung problems and be almost literally dying in your place, but that's actually a good prompt idea! So, something either to do with exhaust/exhausted/exhausting or smoke-inhalation/pollution/trouble breathing, can be any one of those words

(it's fine mostly i just have a sore throat now. this also may or may not be related to my ongoing several day headache streak come to think of it. BUT ANYWAY they're done now so it's fine)

You don't go out without a filter. This is one of the most basic facts the people of the aftermath learn. You learn it quickly, or you die. Ingo knows this.

Unfortuantely, he also knows he didn't have much of a choice. His own mask is long gone, a trophy decorating some creature's den most likely, and Rei's already injured and weak, and their last shelter had been compromised. And they were close. So close to their destination—the home Rei was fighting his way back to, a place that promised safety.

He keeps repeating all this to himself, with every forced step, every it can't be far now—but he wonders, too, if he's made a mistake. If there wasn't some other option he overlooked. If he's doomed both of them.

The air reeks of chemical fumes and smoke. The cloth he's pressing over his face is more of a joke than anything useful; his nose and throat feel like something's been raking its claws down them; his eyes are stinging and blurry and now it's getting hard to see anything at all. His thoughtless animal hindbrain begs him to take deeper breaths, to salvage whatever oxygen they can get as fuel, but he fights that because he knows it'll only make everything worse. Occasionally he's overwhelmed by hacking coughs that burn, that force more poisoned air to cycle through. Rei is dead weight against his shoulder, completely reliant on him to keep moving, which is the only reason he is moving.

And then Rei swats his shoulder, weakly trying to get his attention, and points insistently in the direction of something. It might be a door, although he's not sure he would have noticed it, if not for the label tacked up over it in letters that are too blurred to read.

He drags them both towards it, fights it open—gives up on shallow breaths in this home stretch, just focused on getting through—and somehow manages to pull both himself and Rei up the ledge and inside. He's vaguely aware that the shouts and clicking sounds are alarm and suspicion and something that should make him jump and raise his hands in surrender—but, no longer faced with a critical task to complete, his body decides now is an excellent time to shut down. So it does.

The amnesia AU but different. Where the MC got amnesia and can't remember their life or a section of it, and asks their friends (or the people they think are their friends) but they're like, you're mysterious and you kind of keep to yourself about your life outside of when we go drink/hangout (smth like that) and these friends fully believe the MC is super mysterious bc they're secretly an assassin, or an adventurer or something like that, bc they Have to be, they're so mysterious there's no way they're not. And they're like, yeah! Maybe doing something crazy adventurous will help bring back some memories bc we are positive that's what you do all the time. So then MC & Co go on some grand adventure, and towards the end, the MC is gets their memory back, either random or maybe they're just sitting there quietly eating breakfast and BAM. They get their memory back. They lived a very quiet, comfortable like, and they were happy with that, but a little embarrassed, (OR! Even better! They loved their life but they were just private, so they didn't care to mention it and they had no idea they were "mysterious") so they never mentioned it. So they had that nice big adventure with their friends, but now they remember that they prefer the quiet times, and maybe they like adventures a little more now, but they're still perfectly fine baking bread and reading books, or small things like that. MC is content.

And maybe maybe maybe. There's the "we weren't dating before but you don't remember that so I'm lying to you" and when MC gets the memories back, they kick that fucker to the curb bc no that's not real love if it was built on lies, no way it's a relationship built on smth fake, how can the MC trust them then. Please. That trope always feels so gross, if ur gonna use it, make the character strong, don't love the lie, it's a facade and it's rlly just the liar on a pedestal.

Ingo got eeby deebied still. not to ancient Hisui, just a museum dedicated to Hisui! he still has amnesia

He works night security. Like the movie, the whole place comes to life at night. why does it do this? why was Ingo involved? idk it’s not important this is a silly au first and foremost

his “warden band” is from the gift shop. Lady Sneasler has decided he’s her warden now because she’s the only noble with no warden in the museum. she kept stealing the actual warden band from her display to give to Ingo. Ingo still isn’t sure how she was opening the case with her claws

Akari is there, and she’s Dawn. she snuck in at night on a dare early in her journey, got caught and gave a fake name, and then kept coming back to visit because a) cool haunted(?) museum, b) as the whole Galactic mess went down, it became nice to have someone who didn’t know her for that. she may have reverse adopted Ingo as her uncle

yes, Ingo is unaware of who Akari really is. he’s BAD at keeping up with current events

he doesn’t have his full hisuian team, but he has a Magneton and Kadabra, they’re good for fending off the museum “pokemon” without actually damaging them. he also has Gligar but doesn’t get a chance to battle with it much

Volo is still a villain. he’s causing the “frenzies” that Akari and Ingo work together to fix. he’s trying to meet Arceus to end his “cursed, half-life existence”. He’s the only person in the museum who views their lives like that, literally everyone else is chill with it. He does have actual Giratina under his command

theres a few versions of Ingo and Emmet’s reunion we came up with but my personal favourite is “Emmet breaks in to steal the azure flute to meet Arceus to get Ingo back, gets caught. By Ingo.”
