this week I'm on holiday from school so it's been really chill and relaxing, and I've bought myself three new books, including one that I've been wanting to read for ages!!

1) jubilee poem drops at some point today I am determined to wash my hair before I start doing revision or else it won’t get done- that happened yesterday

2) if my sister doesn’t find somewhere for us to go on Saturday- it’s her responsibility because it’s bank holiday weekend and I have exams- I’m going to riot because I have bought so many books on sale and I need a car journey to read them otherwise I won’t cos I’ll be saying I’ve got other things I need to do

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.

it's always so fascinating and heartbreaking when a character in a story is simultaneously idolized and abused. a chosen prophet destined for martyrdom. a child prodigy forced to grow up too fast. a powerful warrior raised as nothing but a weapon. there's just something so uniquely messed up about singing someone's praises whilst destroying them.
