Brat. (dbf!Captain Price x Reader.)
!CW! NSFW, Smut, oral sex (f receiving), using worms as bait, age gap, (sorry if I missed any)
Tumblr media
Your body feels warm, the hot sun beating down on you as you swam with one of your friends in her swimming pool. You had one as well but her parents weren't as strict as yours so you spent most of your time there.
You had just turned 18 but since you still lived with them for the time being you had no other choice but to follow their rules. You still had a curfew, had to tell them when and where you were going and what time you would be home. They still had to approve of it of course. Although they rarely ever told you no anymore since you were 18.
Your dad sat at an old wooden bar in and old dive bar him and his best friend, John Price liked to hang out in. They've been neighbors for years and years and it's essentially how their friendship started. They spent every holiday, game day, barbecue, and family get together with each other since then. They got along well, never fought. John was invited to everything and since he didn't have a family of his own it wasn't too hard for him to show. He wasn't married, had no kids, and lived too far away from his parents and siblings to plan the flights. He also didn't know when he'd be deployed but since he took on a job on the base and was only backup for missions, he was always home. Usually worked a 9-5 on the base. It was out of the ordinary for him and apart of him felt useless but it paid the bills. He was still there if they needed him anyways.
You dad was tipping the whiskey back like it was water which only meant one thing. Something was stressing him out.
John smiles after drinking some of his own bourbon. "Something going on mate?" He asks your dad. "Ah yeah. Y/N has been driving me crazy lately." He groans. "Me and her mom." He laughs. John tilts his head in confusion. "What's been going on?" He asks. "If you don't mind me asking of course."
"To be honest? I don't know. She's just been a real grouch lately. Has an attitude, doesn't listen, complains all the time. We've given her much more freedom since she turned 18 so I'm not sure where it's coming from." He shrugs. John nods his head. He's still listening. "I mean.. we convinced her to go to the doctor to get a few scans and blood work done, thinking maybe it was hormone imbalance or a mood disorder but those all came back fine and seemed to piss her off even more to be honest." He shrugs. "She got something going on in her personal life? Maybe she's fighting with a friend or boyfriend?" John asks. Your dad shakes his head. "She hates guys her age. Hates pretty much everyone she isn't close with anyways. She always said she won't date until she's older after her first boyfriend but I mean. She was like 12 so it was stupid anyways. She's only got a couple close friends and that's where she is right now. I don't know what it is." He tips back another shot of whiskey.
"Must just be moody. Maybe you guys should come out to the lake with me this weekend. I’m taking the boat out.” He shrugs. “Yeah that sounds good.” Your dad smiles. “Maybe getting out of the house will help her out.” He shrugs.
“I don’t know, I just know she’s in my damn nerves.” He laughs. Once they finish up their drinks, they part ways. Driving down the same roads to get home since they were neighbors. They’d usually carpool together but they’d met after work. When your dad arrives home, you’re home already. Watching a show on the couch. He closes the door behind him as he steps inside, smiling when he sees you. “Hey. John invited us out to go fishin this weekend. I said we’d go.” He smiles. “Do I have to?” You mumble. “Yes.” A grumble leaves your lips. “I’m not sure what the attitude is but it better quit young lady.” You roll your eyes, going upstairs to your room. Throwing yourself back on your bed with a groan.
John smiles at your dad, he’s sitting up at the front of the boat. You’re laying on your stomach, bikini leaving little to the eyes, you’ve got a pair of sunglasses on and you haven’t spoken much the entire trip. “John, you mind letting me off at the doc? I’m gonna go get another case of beer.” He nods his head, starting up the boat and making his way to shore. He lets your dad off, letting him know he’s going to go back out with you and to let him know when to come get him. When he’s back out on the lake and the anchor is down, he flips his hat around. Scooping up some water with his hand and flicking it all over you. He draws a gasp from your lips and you turn around, “John what the hell!” You gasp. Wiping the water down. “Cmon kid. You’re driving your poor ol’ man nuts. What’s with the attitude?” He crosses his arms, lazy smile playing at his lips. “I don’t have an attitude. Why does everyone keep saying that?” You roll your eyes. “Oh come on. The eye rolling, talking back, ignoring people when they talk to you. Being a real brat little lady.” He teases. You grumble, laying back down. “Nope. Cmon. You’re gonna try fishing. You’ll have fun.” He picks up a fishing pole. “We’re using worms. I mean.. you can use power bait but the stocked fished are smaller than natural spawn fish. It’s up to you.” He shrugs, holding out the styrofoam container that has the worms in it. You sigh, taking it from him. “You want me to show you how to put a worm on?” He asks. “Yeah sure.” You mumble. “Alright, here. You basically just thread it through the top.” You watch him hook the worm and thread it on, watching as it squirms. You take the pole from him, casting it out into the water and waiting.
Pretty soon, there’s a boat full of younger guys creeping up near you. They cat call you, yelling out obscenities at you. You ignore them, rolling your eyes. John is a little amused because he knows what your dad has said about guys your age and how you hate dating. They leave just as quickly as they come. “Can we just home? This is boring.” You roll your eyes. “No, not until we catch some fish.” He laughs.
This is where he starts to see it.
When you think he’s not paying attention, you’re adjusting yourself. Sliding awkwardly on the seat, rubbing up against your fishing pole for any sort of friction. Acting more and more bratty as the time ticks on. It’s amusing to John really, to see just how frustrated you are. “Where is my dad? He’s been gone a long time.” John shrugs. He pulls out his phone. He notices a text from your dad, seeing that he’s received a text from him a few minutes before.
You mind giving Y/N a lift home? Her mom texted me and said she took a bad fall at work and is in the ER.
Yeah no problem at all, see you later mate.
“He said your mum fell at work so he’s going to go see if she’s okay. It’s just me and you kid.” John sits down. “So we can go home now?” You ask. “No.” He laughs. You mutter something under your breath. He laughs. Your fishing pole bobbing startles you and John perks up. "You got a fish!" You set the hook, yanking the fishing pole and starting to reel it in. The fish puts up a pretty good fight and when you reel it closer to the boat, John scoops it up with the fishing net for you. Helping you get it off the hook. "Look at that darling." He smiles as you pick it up. "Good girl, see? This is fun." He smiles. His statement takes you off guard, cheeks heating up. "Uh.. Yeah. Whatever." You shut down quickly. He thinks it's odd at first. Once you've thrown the fish back into the water, he sits down across from you at the front of the boat.
He looks around, making sure no one else is around. “Look. I know what’s going on.” He smiles. “Yeah? And what’s that?” You look at him. “Well.. I’m putting two and two together here. The attitude, the never wanting to go out.” He smirks. You look up at him. “I mean.. you’ve been grinding up against your fishing pole since I gave it to you. Rubbing your thighs together when that boat full of guys came by.” Your lips part slightly, cheeks going red. "And when I called you a good girl." He chuckles, seeing how you start to squirm from his watchful eyes on you. “Do you not know how to make yourself cum sweetheart?” He laughs. "T-that's inappropriate John." You look away from his gaze, thankful your sunglasses help conceal your embarrassment. He laughs. "Oh come on, what your dad doesn't know won't hurt him, besides. You've been on his nerves lately and if I help you out, maybe he won't be so stressed out. So talk to me." He smiles. You stay quiet and he moves across the boat, sitting right next to you, throwing an arm over your shoulders. "You can talk to me darling. I can help you." Your heart rate picks up, it's racing in your chest. "I.. I don't know what you want me to say." You breathe. You're one step away from panting at his close proximity. The only thing you can think about are his hands on you. "Have you ever had sex before?" He asks. You shake your head. "Have you.. done anything at all?" You shake your head again. "I've tried to it myself but it makes it worse." You look down at your hands nervously playing with them.
He smiles. Right now, John is thankful there is a room below on his boat. "I can show you." He rests his hand on your thigh, feeling you stiffen up under his touch. "O-okay." You breathe. "Come on." He grasps your hand. There aren't many boats left on the water, it's getting late in the day and everyone is going home thankfully, you might get a little loud. He pulls you down the small set of stairs into the cabin of the boat. It's really small. He makes sure to wash his hands before he touches you, having you do the same.
There's a small bed and a table and chairs and that's it. "Lay on your back." You swallow hard, getting up onto the bed. His deep voice has your clit throbbing at the attention it knows it's about to get. You're sure you've soaked through your panties. He leans onto the bed, helping you remove your bathing suit. When your bottom half is exposed to him, he wants to drool. "God you're beautiful." He groans. He glides his hands down your exposed thighs, causing chills to rise on your skin. You're panting now, small gasps leaving your lips. "Relax." He chuckles. "I'm going to help you, try to calm down sweetheart. You're too eager." He runs his fingertips over your skin, his touch is searing, it burns your skin as his fingers move across you. You want his hands on you. You want them inside of you. He takes a deep breath of his own, trying to ignore the way his cock throbs against his cargo shorts. "Start slow. Little circles on your clit." He reaches forward. "Like this." He breathes. He uses his thumb, rubbing circles over you. Your lips part slightly, a whimper leaving your lips. It’s different when he’s touching you. You can feel your lower stomach swirling, something is building already. “You try.” He draws his hand away. Resting your hand over your mound, rubbing circles over your clit just as he said. The sensation is gone just as fast as it came, causing you to whimper out at the loss, your touch feels like nothing. You draw your hand away. “This isn’t going to work John, it doesn’t work.” You blush.
You try to sit up but he pushes you back. “Have you ever cum before?” He asks. You shake your head. “Oh darling.. no wonder you’re so bratty.” He smiles. “All of that sexual tension and no way to release it. Poor thing.” He’s teasing you, but at the same time actually feels really bad. He knows it’s harder for you to cum. “Stop it John.” You try to push him off, tears gathering in your eyes from frustration. “I’m just teasing darling, let me help you.” He moves himself up further, grasping your thighs and pulling you down on the bed further, you let your head rest back on the pillow, looking up at the ceiling. The boat rocks back and fourth over the water. You’re nervous. You don’t know what he’s going to do to you. He moves himself between your legs, and you don’t understand what's going on until you feel something warm and wet against your entrance. You lift your head up, jumping at the sensation. “Oh f-fuck!” You gasp. He glances up at you. He’s still got his hat on, but he’s flipped it backward by now. Giving himself room to devour you. He moans into your opening, you taste sweet. You’re breathing hard, clutching at the sheets as he flicks his tongue over your clit. He starts slow, letting your sensitive nub get used to the sensation of his tongue, not wanting to overwhelm you. You clutch at the sheets, melting further and further into him as he laps at your entrance with his tongue. It's clear that he's had a fair share of experience. You feel something building in your stomach and you know you're about to cum.
You're getting louder and louder, crying out his name and he's never imagined himself in such a position.
This is just to help her dad, so that he isn't so stressed out.
That's all.
John rocks his hips into the bed, cock hard and throbbing against his shorts. Begging for some kind of friction. He imagines your pretty lips around his cock, maybe your pretty eyes looking up at him as you take him further down your throat. He groans into you earning another moan from your lips. When you're wet enough from his spit and your arousal, he slides a couple of his fingers into you. Feeling you tense up around him, all of the air leaving your lungs, you've never had anything inside before and he can't help but smile into you.
He sucks against your clit, swirling his tongue around it, you're squirming, struggling to stay still beneath him, even his grip on you doesn't keep you completely still. He sucks your clit into his mouth one more time, lapping his tongue over you, his fingers curling into the sweet spot inside of you and you lose it, lips parting as moans leave your lips. A mewl leave your lips and you squirm out of his grasp as he desperately laps up your arousal from your orgasm. You push him away, closing your legs. You're looking at him with a look of pure shock, panting, a little sweaty. The look you're giving him it's unsettling how fucked out you look. He wipes his lips of you, looking up at you. "Do you feel better?" He laughs. You nod your head. "Good. Try to relax." He smiles. "Still got about an hour of light left, let's make it worth while and try to catch some fish yeah?" He smiles, standing up. When he's out of your line of sight, he sucks the taste of you off of his fingers. Groaning at himself.
What has he just gotten himself into?

My treasures
zuko,azula and mom reader
Tumblr media
The duty you had for the fire nation and your royal in laws, so to keep the family strong and also have children who are fire benders like their father. Those duties had been fulfilled when you had zuko and azula two gifted fire benders, that you love so much and care deeply for as well. Azula and zuko had both become your prizes treasures in your life within in the palace, as you had given up your old life to welcome a new life that had been made. The kids love and care for you as you love and care for them as well.
y/n " ........" you are sitting in the garden and looking at fountain, and you thought it was going to be a peaceful day. As the kids seem to be busy with some other matters and you had not been given, any royal duties to deal with today.
????? " mom" you had soon heard the voice of your kids as you soon got up, and turned towards them.
y/n " hello my children now tell me what has gotten you in such an energetic mood"
azula " well mom I was show Zuzu that I can out race him to you and I won"
zuko " stop calling me that azula"
azula " never and you can't make me dumb dumb"
zuko " azula"
y/n " no fight with each other you both know that"
zuko and azula " yes mom"
y/n “ now tell me how your lessons went”
zuko “ the lessons went well today mom and you can ask the teachers”
y/n “ I will young man”
azula “ we also practice our fire bending as well, our mentors are saying we are doing great … well they said that about me not Zuzu”
zuko “ azula”
y/n “ be nice Azula your brother is getting there”
azula “ yes mom hey mom you can fire bender as well “
y/n “ yes but my fire bender is not for fighting that much, more like performance and other stuff as well” the kids looked amazed at you as you had stated fire bender and made a bride of fire soon having it fly around.
azula " wow mom that amazing"
y/n " thank you"
zuko " did you use to do fire bender before you married father"
????? " oh so your mother is showing you two her fire bending is she" the trio had soon looked and saw ozai coming their way.
zuko and azula " hello father"
y/n " hello my husband"
ozia " hello my wife and children I heard you all talking, and came to see what was the matter"
azula " mom was telling us the fire bending she can do"
ozai " oh I can see that your mother using her skills in beautiful way, that is something I learned about her and that I love"
zuko " wow that amazing"
y/n " it seems like we are blessed with very gifted benders my husband, in no time our kids will be doing well with the element of fire"
ozai " yes they will be doing well and in time they will be helping the nation, gain more power and land"
y/n " yes you are right my dear" you still didn't like the idea of your kids become benders that will use their skills, for evil and you knew that ozai will make them follow his family path in life.
azula " mother"
y/n " yes my dear"
azula " i was wondering if you can show us some of your skills"
y/n " sure I will love to my daughter"
ozai " yes that sounds like a good idea you two will need to know, all the skins to be the best fire benders like all the rest that came before you two"
the kids " yes dad"
ozai " good"
ozai " children I will love to have some words with your mother alone"
zuko and azula " yes father" the kids soon bowed before they walked away. You are soon left alone in the royal gardens with you husband he soon looked at you.
ozai " I will allow you to teach them fire bending that you learned while, growing up but I don't wish for the kids to learn anything else from your past"
y/n " I know my husband I know"
ozai " good you have been a good wife and mother stay by my side and with the royal after all these years"
y/n " thank you my love and you have been a good husband and father as well"
ozai " I know you long for your past but those times and life is over, you are lady of the nation no longer that village young lady I meet many years ago"
y/n " yes I know ozai but I can still think about my past"
ozai " yes you can but sometime it the best if you give up the past, for everyone sake"
'y/n " yes my husband"
ozai " here you can tell those stoires and anything else to the children's if they makes you happy, but I wish for them to not have that much of connection"
y/n " thank you this make me happy"
ozai " sure I will leave you here now I have a meeting with my father" you had nodded your head as ozai kissed your hand before he soon walked off, you were now once again left alone with your thoughts. Sitting on the stone beach and thinking about the past and present, there was also worry about what the future will hold as well.

Summary: Carmelo is nervous about returning to his college alma mater FAMU for its homecoming. An alumni ball between his fellow brother Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and sister sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha is taking place.
Why is he nervous, you ask? A special someone he took for granted is going and he has no idea how to make things right. Follow Carmelo down memory lane as he tries to figure out how to fix the mess he made. Will Kayla forgive him or will this end in disaster as Trick travels with Carmelo to be his wingman for homecoming weekend.
This was a story request from royalkay23 who gave me the music and ideas that we put together. I hope you enjoy it!

NXT Show
Carmelo POV
“Damn, another night, another show,” I sighed sitting down trying to unwind a bit before I showered and got on the road. Pulling out my phone I checked my messages.
“Damn, I already told Darnell, I was comin’ so what the hell he keep calling for?” I hissed putting in my code to listen to his voicemail.
“Man, I forgot you had a show, I talked to Angela, and she convinced Kayla to come this weekend. You better get ready to do some groveling to get yo’ woman man. I’ll see you down there, later bro,” his voice making my stress levels rise.
What does he mean she’s coming down? Fuck, should I even go? Will she even wanna talk to my ass?
“How did shit get so complicated,” I whispered pinched my nose truly frustrated.
Things used to be so easy; then we made it complicated by giving in to our desires. If only we never crossed that line, we would still be close.
I missed her, I knew the first day I met her that I wanted her to be apart of my life forever.
--------
FAMU Move in day 2019
“Remember we’re gentleman, carry their bags to their rooms. Be welcoming and act like ya’ll got some sense. Give them a couple weeks to get used to campus life before ya’ll start aggravating them,” our oldest fraternity brother Scott said as we all snickered.
“We got you, boss,” I said trying not to laugh as Darnell hit my shoulder trying to hold it together himself.
“No funny business Carmelo, this ain’t an opportunity for you to schedule your next hookup,” Greg hissed as I nodded scoping the parking lot not listening.
“Damn, I got her,” I said pointing to a beautiful young lady standing with her parents about to start pulling luggage outta their trunk. Oh, she bad….Legs and ass for days.
“You ain’t slick, you tryin' to holla at her,” Darnell whispered as I grinned. “I don’t know what you talkin’ about. If ya’ll will excuse me, I’m going to see if they need some help,” I said quickly making myself scarce before anybody could get a word in.
Making my way over to the family I couldn’t help but hear her mom fussing over leaving her daughter here. Smiling, I listened quietly trying to give them a minute before I interrupted.
“Mama, I will be fine,” she said reassuring her mother as they had her surrounded in a group hug.  “You go to your classes and back to your dorm, these folks are a little too wild,” her mom said looking at a couple making out not far from us as I snickered.
Sorry mama, that’s something I wouldn’t mind doin’ to your daughter…Damn, Melo play it cool…
“Mama, I can handle it, I’m not going to be out here actin’ a fool but I will have fun sometime,” the Carmel beauty said being honest with her parents as her dad smiled.
“As you should, all work and no play sucks, babe give her a break. We raised her right,” her dad said as her mom took a deep breath.
“Yes, ya’ll did, now trust me,” she pleaded with a beautiful smile. Damn, a smile that could start a full-blown war….
“I do trust you, baby, it’s just it’s your first time away from home, and I’m worried,” her mom said looking around at their surroundings.
“Have you talked to your little boyfriend who couldn’t bother to be here,” her dad said with disgust.
“Daddy, Justin is getting ready to go to college too. It’s ok, he’s going to come up soon,” she said her tone trying to keep the conversation light and positive.
Well, let me introduce myself, maybe that can change the subject, it seemed the mysterious beauty didn’t want to talk about it.
“Excuse me, do you guys need some help?” I asked said as she turned around and instantly blushed when we made eye contact.
Damn she fine, fine, ok act like a gentleman and don’t embarrass yourself.
“Hi! Um, I guess we do,” she said looking around at all her things on the ground and in the trunk.
“What’s your name son?” her dad asked, as I grinned.
“I’m Carmelo, and I’m from the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, sir. I’m apart of the fraternity welcoming committee. We help students move in on campus,” I said shaking her dad’s hand as he smiled at him.
“An Alpha man! I like that, I pledged to that fraternity when I was in college, my daughter here is a junior transfer and is pledging to your sister sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha,” he said proudly as my ears perked up at the new information.
“You don’t have to tell everybody, Daddy, I might not even make it. Hi, I’m Kayla,” she said shaking my hand as I felt myself falling into those beautiful brown eyes.
“It’s always nice to meet a fellow sister, welcome to the family,” I said gently kissing her hand. Her mother scoffed, clearing her throat and interrupting our moment as I reluctantly let go of her hand as her dad laughed.
“It’s nice to meet you as well ma’am,” I said taking her mother's hand in mine, kissing it as her smirk grew by the second.
“Oh, you charming, stay away from this one Kayla,” her mom said as I smiled nervously at her…Alright, don’t let her see you sweat.
“Uh, let’s get you moved in Kayla,” I said trying to change the subject, helping her dad pick up some of her bags. “I would love that,” she said smiling brightly at me.
For the next hour, I tried to learn all I could about her as we moved her into her dorm.
Her phone also had been ringing nonstop, but she ignored it. “He knows I’m movin’ so why blow me up like this. I’ll call him back in a minute,” she said as we carried up the last of her things.
“When you do….Tell him he should have brought his ass here to help us move you in if he wanted to know what you are doing every fuckin’ second of the day,” her mom said as Kayla rolled her eyes behind her back.
Poor thing was getting it from all ends, I could see she needed a break from her mother, and it seemed her boyfriend.
Her parents walking ahead of us into her dorm gave me a chance to be nosey.
“Is that you and your man?” I asked, pointing at the wallpaper on her phone. Looking at the photo seemed to have her conflicted, almost nervous.
“Uh, yeah he is, we’ve been together for two years,” Kayla said as I observed her uneasiness.
“Ok, well maybe when he comes to visit, ya’ll can come check out one of our parties. We throw the best ones on campus,” I said trying to make conversation not wanting it to end as I sat her bags down inside.
“That would be cool, thank you for helping us, maybe I’ll see you around,” Kayla said as I felt the excitement dancing in my chest.
“Yeah, you definitely will, might as well call me your new best friend,” I said turning on the charm as she laughed.
“Well, maybe I’ll see you around best friend,” Kayla joked as I walked out of her dorm with a pep definitely in my step.
Senior year was definitely shaping up.
------
“Aye, you planning to shower or what?” Trick asked bringing me out of my thoughts. “Yeah, I am, just was thinking about Kayla and if I want to go to the Alumni ball,” I said as Trick sat down in front of me and stared intently.
“Well, you deserve to have fun too, maybe ya’ll can talk and work this shit out. I mean it’s been four years, she can’t still be mad,” he said as I sighed.
“I said some fucked up shit that I can’t take back, I don’t even know how to approach her,” I said feeling helpless.
“You go up to her, apologize, and try to make it right. That’s all you can do,” Trick said as I stood up shuffling around the room gathering my things.
“Thanks, man maybe it’ll all work out and I’ll have fun this weekend,” I said as Trick smiled.
“Now that’s it, be positive and have fun this weekend. I’ll even go with you and be your wingman.  I can tell you when to talk and when to shut the hell up, 'cause you talk too much sometimes,” Trick said as I laughed truly thankful for him and our friendship.
“Well, I might take you up on that, let me shower so we can hit the road,” I said heading to the showers.
“Aye, you gon’ get her back, you just gotta shoot your shot!” I heard Trick yell as I started my shower.
I truly hoped so but for now, I had to be realistic, I had a lot of groveling to do, and I was prepared to do it if it meant Kayla could be in my life again.
---
Delata Flight 193
Kayla’s POV
“Angela, I’m going to have fun and stroll with my sorors. I’m not going to resurrect issues from four years ago,” I said as she rolled her eyes at me.
“Ya’ll two need to talk and squash this shit, you know he didn’t mean it. He was jealous because he was in love with you…Still in love with you might I add,” she said as I scoffed.
“In love…..Carmelo…… Girl bye!” I exclaimed rolling my eyes. “Even if he was in love with me, it don’t make it right what he did.  Have a conversation like an adult and not say spiteful shit. And can we just drop this conversation, you are ruining my buzz,” I said finishing my glass of champagne as Angela sighed grabbing her phone.
Damn, I guess she was going to be team Carmelo all weekend. Love my ass.
“So, he wrestles, that’s cool,” Angela said as I looked over and saw her scrolling through Carmelo’s Instagram as I smiled.
Many of our late-night talks about our dreams began to invade my mind. He was always passionate about wrestling so it didn’t shock me that he made it to the WWE.
Leaning back in my seat I sighed trying to get in the right head space for this weekend. I wanted to have a good time, it would even be better if I could avoid him.
“Girl, he got to work with the undertaker, look!” Angela exclaimed as I leaned back over and looked at his latest Instagram post on her phone.
Tumblr media
“That’s awesome,” I whispered happy him. He looked so happy. As she scrolled to the next picture My focus went to the tattoo of an eye on his upper arm, it seemed to stir something in me, but I didn’t know what.
I felt like I knew the meaning of it but I couldn’t piece it together as I looked at the beautiful tattoo of a woman’s eye with makeup smudged. Angela quickly swiped to the next post before I could truly process it.
“So, are you going to talk to him this weekend? Angela asked as I sat back in my seat and closed my eyes trying to tune her out.
“No, I have no desire to talk to him, I’m over it,” I said as she laughed.
“Bullshit, you were in love with Carmelo, and you still are,” she countered as I snapped my head back looking at her wearing a frown.
“Don’t look at me like that, you gon’ put your big girl panties on this weekend, and get yo' man back,” Angela said with determination as I shook my head.
“He was never my man Angela; we just were two friends who had sex one night and it ruined our friendship. Worse mistake ever, I should have taken my ass home that night,” I said smartly as Angela sucked on her teeth.
“Nah, I don’t agree with that. Ya’ll were two friends who loved each other and were scared. He self-destructed jumping to conclusions and you were hurt by his assumptions,” Angela said as I got my air pods out of my purse.
“I’m done talkin’ about Carmelo, I’m takin’ a nap now,” I said putting my air pods in, turning my music on low.
“I know you can hear me so I’ma say this. I know he was wrong, but I think you are takin’ the one bad thing he did and erasing all the good. It wasn’t always bad Kayla and one mistake shouldn’t define him or his love for you, or your love for him,” Angela said as I continued to tune her out.
Yes, he did a lot of great things for me, I couldn’t deny it. Did the good truly outweigh the bad?

Crossing Day 2019
Kayla’s POV
This is supposed to be an amazing night for me, but I feel shitty. It’s nothing but chaos all around me as I see Carmelo and some of his fraternity brothers helping set up the stage for our ceremony that starts in an hour. I hate we got a late start.
My phone ringing for damn near the tenth time within the last thirty minutes is pissing me off as I see Justin’s number.
“What do you want Justin?” I asked, truly fed up, especially after the bomb he dropped this morning.
“I just wanted to make sure you were good,” he said as I pulled the phone away from my ear in disbelief.
“Justin, how am I good? You called me this morning to tell me you’re not coming. You knew how important this was to me,” I said trying to keep my emotions in check not wanting to mess up my makeup.
“It’s not that big a deal, it’s just a sorority thing,” he said as I felt the tears coming. “Really, so something I want to do isn’t important to you. Even though everything you do, I come and support you,” I said raising my voice as Carmelo made his way towards me.
“You ok Kayla?” he asked as shook my head, sighing as he put a comforting hand on my shoulder. “Who is that? Is that your so-called homeboy, I shoulda known his ass was there. I ain’t blind I know ya’ll like each other,” Justin hissed.
“Look, I got to get ready, I need to get my mind together,” I said trying to end the call.
“Well, that’s cold, you don’t even wanna talk about it. You must be spreadin’ your legs for his ass. Maybe we just need to call this shit off,” he said as I scoffed knowing where this was going.
Gaslighting 101, chapter five, Hide Your Guilt and Accuse Her of What You Are Actually Doing.
This bastard was cheating, and I knew exactly who it was with.
“You know I’m not cheating on you. Just grow a set and tell me you want to break up instead of playing games Justin. I know you sleeping with Regina, the jig is up, ok,” I said as the line got quiet.
“Look, it ain’t about her, I’m just sayin’ maybe we just need to end this. Experience new people and just have fun, I don’t want to be tied down right now Kayla,” he said as I took a deep breath and looked at Carmelo, who gave me a nod of encouragement.
"I'm here Kay," he whispered as I fought back tears. He was always there to pick up the pieces and wipe my tears.
“Justin, why did you have to do this today? It could have been any other day but today. Look, just lose my number because you’re officially blocked, it's over,” I said hanging up and blocking his number as Carmelo took me in his arms and I broke down.
“Hey, I got you,” he whispered as I cried. “I don’t think I can do this today,” I cried as his strong arms pulled me closer.
“Oh, yes you can and will because you have worked hard for this. Today is your day, don’t let him take that away from you,” Carmelo said as I nodded slightly pulling away a sad smile adorning my face as he carefully wiped my tears.
“No more tears, go get ready. I’m excited to hear your Crossing Introduction tonight. I know it’s gon' be fire, just like you, and make sure to shake that beautiful hair for me,” he said gently playing with my freshly silked-out hair.
“Ok, I’ll make sure to remember that,” I said reluctantly stepping back as Angela came running up.
“Girl, ya’ll can flirt later, we need to finish getting ready. See you in a few Melo,” she said pulling me away as I laughed.
“Never change Angela, and congrats!” he yelled as she waved back at him.
These two are a mess but it was time. It was time to step into my sorority destiny.
Tumblr media
Everything seemed like such a blur as we waited in line with our heads down. I was getting more nervous as each new soror went before the crowd introducing themselves.
Focus Kayla you did well on the march, now it’s time to let them know who you are.
“Alright Kayla let’em know,” my new fellow Soror whispered as I smiled, tossing my head back and whipping my hair back and forth as the crowd screamed. Here goes nothing…
Stepping out of line and going to the front of the stage I felt nervous till I looked out and saw Carmelo about three rows back smiling at me.
“My…… Name….. is!” I shouted, loud and clear pausing between each word.
“What’s your name?!” the crowd asked as I smiled and began moving my body and hands in sync with my words.
“Kayla!”
“Yea!” (crowd)
“Belle!”
“Yea!”
The crowd participating as I said my name had my heart racing. Pausing, taking in the moment, I saw Carmelo wink at me.
Giving him a sexy smirk, I tossed my head back and began shaking my hair again just for him.
“Peaches!”
“Yea!”
Slowly lowering my head, I paused, building excitement as they waited to hear what my last name was.
“Taylor!”
“Yea!”
“And I am from the Peach State, the one and only Atlanta, GA! And this Georgia Peach has joined this great sorority and I’m this line’s number 17! I shouted with pride bending down into our stroll stance with a bright smile.
Finally releasing the breath I was holding, my eyes found Carmelo again as he licked his lips. His gaze grew more intense as Darnell whispered something to him.
Were they talking about me? I saw Carmelo dap him up sharing a mutual nod before he turned his attention back to me and winked.
"A'ight Peaches, I see you Ms. AKA!" he shouted as I smiled getting back in line.
Yes, it was over! I had done it!… I was an AKA….

Carmelo’s Room
“You sure you good?” Carmelo asked as I sat my drink down and curled up next to him on the couch. “I’m fine, thanks for being there tonight,” I said glancing up at him as he seemed to be in deep thought.
“It’s no problem, it was no other place I’d rather be,” he whispered caressing my face as I felt myself melting under his gaze.
“What are we doing?” I whispered as his lips slowly descended towards mine.  “What we've always wanted to do,” he whispered gently taking my lips in a kiss as I moaned in pleasure.
“We can’t, I don’t want to ruin our friendship,” I whimpered against his lips as his arms encircled my waist pulling me onto his lap.
Feeling his hardness underneath me had me shook. He was hard from just a simple kiss.
“Mmhm, you feel that Kay? That's what you do to me," Carmelo whispered as I shivered. "Melo we can't," I pleaded as he silenced me with another kiss.
"We both want this, stop fighting it, baby. It won’t change anything, we'll still be us,” Carmelo whispered, his sexy voice casting a powerful spell over me.
Looking into his beautiful brown eyes I saw nothing but the truth in his words. Kayla just let go and give in to what you want.
"Tonight...Just for tonight," I whispered as Carmelo's grip on me tightened. "I got you," he whispered slowly undressing me.
I felt shy, as he tossed my dress, anxiously over his shoulder before caressing my breasts. “You are so beautiful, just everything I imagined you’d be and more,” Carmelo whispered kissing my neck as I moaned in pleasure, his masterful hands making quick work of my bra.
His words eased my nervousness and awakened the boldness in me.
Playing with the waistband of his sweats, Carmelo bit back a moan in anticipation. “Go ahead baby, you can touch it. I want you too,” Carmelo moaned as I purred at his words.
Nervously stroking him, his moans urged me on as his mouth feasted upon my neck. “Mmm, yes,” I moaned continuing to stoke him as he slid my thong to the side.
“You got a condom?” I whispered into the air as he nodded, reaching over, fiddling around in the drawer of the small lamp table beside us, as I claimed his lips in a powerful kiss.
His moan of triumph as he retrieved the condom and ripped it open made me tremble against him.
“Let me,” I whispered against his lips, climbing off his lap, slowly sinking to my knees, holding his gaze I slowly placed the condom over the tip of his length.
Damn he was way bigger than Justin, it caused me to pause in my actions and stare.
“Don't be scared, I'ma make you feel real good baby. I promise, now gon’ put it on and come take a ride,” Carmelo groaned, picking up on my nervousness as continued to stroke him.
My pussy quivered at his words; it excited me. Using my mouth, I slide the condom down over his hardened length as he bit back a growl, entangling his fingers in my hair.
“Shit! It’s like that baby?” Carmelo moaned, looking at me in amazement.  “Uh huh,” I moaned looking at him, while taking him deeper into my mouth
“Got dammmn Kay,” Carmelo hissed as his head fell back against the couch in pleasure. “You like that,” I whispered as he looked at me through hooded eyes. “Hell yea, I love it but if you don’t stop, this gon’ be over before it starts,” Carmelo panted as I smirked releasing him.
“Mmm, I wouldn't want that, ” I whispered climbing back on his lap nibbing on his neck as he growled grasping my hips, slowly inch by inch filling my wet center with his hardened length until he was to the hilt.  Our moans of satisfaction filled the tiny room.
“Fuck, you feel better than I ever dreamed,” Carmelo groaned against my neck as I began to ride him.  “Mm, you too,” I confessed wrapping my arms around his neck as he began meeting my thrusts in desperate need.
“Yea, ride… Mmhm ride dat shit……Just like that Kayla,” Carmelo moaned encouraging me as we chased our end. “Promise me nothing changes….Mmm,Melo!” I exclaimed as he began gently massaging my clit with his thumb as I used his shoulders to steady myself bouncing with a purpose.
“Mmhm, nothin’ gon’ change, I promise Kay. Now let’s get this nut together baby,” he whispered as he took me higher and higher. “Yes! Melo, Mmhm I’m ready!” I cried as I rotated my hips against him hearing a low growl escape his lips that began to grow in volume as we shared each other’s love.
That’s what it was, love and it was scaring the hell outta me and by the look on Carmelo’s face I could tell it was scaring him too.
“Kay…Kay..Fuck!” Carmelo moaned, finally finding words as we were reaching our end.  “I know, God I know," I moaned shuttering against him as our lips met in desperation.
“I’m cummin!” I whined against his lips as he caressed his tongue with mine, deepening our kiss.
“I’m right there with you,” he moaned as we exploded together. Collapsing against his shoulder I struggled to catch my breath as he held me tight.
For awhile, nothing was said as I relaxed in Carmelo's arms. I felt overwhelmed, I knew I had messed up…I had fallen hard for him.  I felt my tears coming as Carmelo caressed my back.
“Don’t cry Kay, we good. See you doin' all this cryin' lately, I'ma have to get a tattoo of a tear on this shoulder. Better yet, ima put your whole eye up there with the makeup smudges and all," Carmelo said kissing my shoulder.
“See why you gotta tease me,” I said caressing his arms as he sighed.
“Look at me Kay,” Carmelo said lifting my head off his shoulder wiping my tears.
I would never tease you. I’m just glad you trusted me and allowed me to be there to catch your tears,” Carmelo whispered caressing my face, placing a gentle kiss on my lips.
Yep….We fucked up….Big time.
---
“We're about to land Kayla,” I heard Angela say as I opened my eyes taking in my surroundings.
“I’m sorry I just meant to catch a small nap, not sleep the whole flight,” I said taking my air pods out and putting my seatbelt back. on.
“You good girl, it ain’t nothing like listening to music and letting it take you away,” she said smiling at me.
“Yeah, I guess so,” I said trying to shake the memories that were clouding my mind, and the other pieces of the puzzle coming together had me feeling overwhelmed.
Pulling my phone back out I went to WWE.com, turning slightly in my seat so Angela couldn't see. I would never hear the end of this if she knew I was looking at Carmelo's photos but I needed to see the picture again.
In my search, I found an article with the picture in question attached with several other backstage shots. I began skimming through the article and a question threw me for a loop.

"So, what is the significance behind this tattoo of the eye with what seems to be makeup smudged?"
"I got it about three years ago, I got it to remind me of a special someone I knew in college. She was my best friend and my number one supporter. She encouraged me to chase my dreams, and I never forgot that."
"Well, are you two still in touch?"
"Uh, no we aren't, but who knows what the future holds."
---
“I can't believe he really got that tattoo,” I muttered to myself in disbelief. “Who got what tattoo?” Angela asked leaning over, trying to look at my phone as I quickly opened another tab.
“Uh, nobody I know, I was just thinking about the dream I just had,” I said which technically I wasn't stretching the truth very much. My memories with Carmelo were creeping into my brain and it scared me.
“I hope it was a good dream to start your weekend because we gon’ have fun these next few days,” she said as I sighed.
Girl, if you only knew I would rather be anywhere than Florida this weekend. This was dangerous, I had to keep my guard up.
Maybe I should have just stayed home.

The Next Day
PHIRSTPHAM Cookout
Carmelo’s POV
“Damn, it’s thick out here,” Trick said as I grabbed us a beer. “Yea, they partyin’ hard, half of them probably ain’t making it to the ball,” I laughed looking around trying to find Kayla.
“Aye, didn’t her homegirl tell you they’d be here?  I’ma need you to chill man,” Trick said as I tried to shake my nerves still looking around.
“I know I’m jus…just,” I said stuttered as I spotted her. “What the hell is wrong with you?” Trick asked turning around to see what had me shook.
“Damn, is that her?” he asked smiling as I nodded still unable to speak.  “You stupid as fuck if I may say so myself,” Trick whispered shaking his head as I growled.
“Look you ain’t gotta rub it in, you supposed to be helping me, and stop looking at her like that,” I hissed as Trick shrugged his shoulders.
“I am here to help you but I ain’t dead. Is that her friend?” Trick asked pointing at Angela. “Yea, that’s her, a straight pain in the ass but I adore her,” I said as Darnell came running up.
“Ooou! I know you see yo’ girl, she out here serving body for days!” Darnell exclaimed as Trick smirked.
“Man shut the fuck up,” I said seething as he laughed. “Now is that how you talk to your frat brother who just talked to the DJ and he’s about to play our favorite stroll with the AKAs,” he said as my eyes widened in shock.
“I know you didn’t,” I whispered as he smiled. “Yep, so get ready,” he said taking off towards the crowd.
"This idiot here is just fuckin’ stupid,” I said as Trick seemed confused. “What’s the issue, I mean a dance can’t hurt nobody,” he said as I sighed.
“In the stroll, I lead the Alphas and Kayla leads the AKAs,” I said as Trick's eyes lit up. “Oh, shit that’s perfect, maybe it will break the ice with Kayla,” he said as I drank the rest of my beer.
“If anything it may entice her to choke my ass out for being so close to her, but I guess I ain’t gotta choice,” I said as I heard the opening cords of Knuck if you buck by Crime Mob
“Class of 2020 and 2021 I need you on the floor it’s your time to shine,” the MC said as I saw the girls already dancing falling in line behind Kayla as she smiled brightly swinging her hips and arms.
“Aye, you betta get yo’ ass over there,” Trick said as Darnell was waving me over as I went to join my frat brothers.
“Taking my place in line across from Kayla felt weird as she seemed to not pay me any attention as she strolled with her line sisters.
“Let’s get it fellas!” I shouted blowing my whistle as we began steppin’ in sync with the girls doing our own stroll.
I saw Kayla look over at me in shock for a second before she recovered and continued leading her line sisters.
“Knuck if you buck!” Angela screamed as the AKAs kneeled deeper in their stance, killin’ it.
“I see ya’ll!” I heard someone yell as I cracked a smile.  It felt good to stroll with my frat brothers and most of all Kay.
I couldn’t take my eyes off of her as she danced, whipping her hair back and forth almost teasing me. She knows what that shit does to me.  Trying to refocus I cut my eyes towards Angela as she smirked at me.
“Yeah, act like you know! Stop playin’ wit her, take us on out Peaches!" she yelled, swinging her arms as Kayla smiled, walking as only she could pretending one of her hands was a mirror as she fluffed her beautiful hair with the other.
The crowd parted, cheering them on while allowing them to pass as we followed closely behind them.
Damn, Kayla still could command a room like no other. “Uh, you can thank me now,” Darnell said as I looked back at him and rolled my eyes getting out of the line, trying to find Kayla again.
Kayla’s POV “We still got it, that was fun,” Angela said as I laughed. “Girl, AKAs gon’ always bring that heat,” I said smiling at her. “I know you saw him, so when ya’ll gon’ talk,” Angela said as I sighed.
Jeez can I have a moments piece without somebody telling me to talk to Carmelo.
“I didn’t see Carmelo, what are you talking about?” I said playing dumb.
“Oh, so you don’t know me now,” Carmelo said as I sighed looking at the amusement dancing in Angela’s eyes as I slowly turned to face him.
"I’ll let ya’ll two talk," Angela said practically running away as I scoffed. “I hate you!” I hissed as she laughed.
“Look can go talk, I think we both can agree it’s overdue and we don’t want to make a scene here,” Carmelo said as I looked around at everyone having a good time.
“Fine, but I’m not going far,” I said following him through the crowd as he led me to the side of the building.
The silence was defining as we both were trying to think of words to say to each other. It had been three years since we last saw each other after all.
I don’t know what came over me but I slapped him as hard as I could the sound echoing around us as Carmello stumbled rubbing the side of his face.
“A’ight I deserved that,” he said as I took a deep breath trying to not make a fool outta myself. I couldn’t let him know how he truly broke me.
“Yes, you did and more. You’re lucky that’s all you got from me,” I said as Carmelo raised his hands in surrender.  “Kay, I know I hurt you and I’m sorry,” he said as I looked at him my expression unreadable.
“It's Kayla to you, only my friends call me Kay. Look, can you make this quick, I got something to do,” I said folding my arms over my chest.
“So is this how it’s gon’ be the whole weekend, you just ignoring me. I’m trying to apologize, Kayla,” Carmelo said as I tried to wrangle in my feelings.
“Why are you apologizing to a whore. I mean that’s what you said I was right?” I said as a look of defeat and horror crossed his face.
“I didn’t mean it if you would just let me talk,” he started as I cut him off.
“I’m just a needy whore that will ride any dick right,” I said slightly raising my voice as he cringed at my words.
“Look, I was drunk, and I said some shit I didn’t mean alright. You know I lo—,” Carmelo's voice trailed off as he looked down unable to look at me. What was he going to say?
“Carmelo, being drunk ain’t no excuse, I thought you were my best friend!” I exclaimed frustrated that I was letting him get to me.
I am your best friend! Regardless of how you feel about me, you are my best friend Kayla and I miss you. Can you please just forgive me? he pleaded as I tried to walk away. "Carmelo, please stop," I begged trying to walk away as he blocked my path. "Say you can forgive me, please," Carmelo pleaded, his eyes drawing me in as they stared into my soul. I couldn't look away if I wanted.
“Kay, you know I didn’t mean it, can we just agree to talk sometime before we both leave Sunday,” he pleaded as I finally nodded, not trusting my words as I saw Angela walking over.
“Hey, ya’ll good, Kay?" she asked rubbing my shoulder as I held back tears.
“Uh, yeah we were just talking about not letting the drama of the past ruin the weekend," I said wiping a few stray tears that had fallen as Carmelo sighed in relief.
“Well thank God, we all deserve a good weekend of fun,” she said my eyes still focused on Carmelo as he glanced quickly at the tattoo on his shoulder before looking back at me.
I felt a shiver run down my spine, as I tried to shake it off.
“Well, uh, I’ll let ya’ll get back to the party and I will see ya’ll tonight hopefully,” he said giving me a hug, catching me off guard.
Carmelo’s POV
I knew I was pushing it but I couldn't help it. I had to hold her in my arms. Come on beautiful hug me back.
I couldn’t let her go until she hugged me back.
I felt her trembling hands touch my back as I sighed in relief pulling her closer. “I’ma make it right, just let me please. I’m sorry Kay,” I whispered in her ear as I felt her relax against me. Angela smiled at me before leaving us alone.
"You hurt me, Mel," Kayla whispered as I felt my heart sink. “I wish I could take it back, baby,” I whispered honestly.
I didn’t know what else to say, I had played the scenario over and over in my head a thousand times. How different everything could have been if I had just told her how I felt that night. If I did, we wouldn’t be in this shit now.
“I need to go," Kayla whispered pulling away as I felt empty again.
"Yeah, me too, I hope I see you tonight," I said as she flashed a half smile.
"Maybe, I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get there," she said not looking me in the eye slowly walking back back to the party.
Don't give up on me yet beautiful I whispered watching her walk away from me and carrying my heart right along with her.

End-of-Year Party
Carmelo’s POV
It was the last party of the year, graduation was near but Kayla was occupying my mind.
We kept our word, after our night nothing changed. We woke up that next morning and went back into our regular routine. Two best friends who adored each other.
I had gone out with a few girls since then and Kayla was into her sorority life and wasn’t dating.
She had told me how she wanted to heal from the breakup with Justin before she dated anybody. I can’t help but admit I wanted more, and no girl could compare to her but I didn’t even know how to tell her.
"Let me get this straight 'cause you are confusing the fuck outta me. You like Kayla, but instead of telling her you bring Robin to this party. The girl who has made her life hell since she joined the AKAs. You stupid as fuck,” Darnell scoffed hitting me on the back of the head.
"Shit, you didn’t have to hit me, I know I’m wrong,” I said rubbing my head as I saw Kayla on the dancing floor dancing with Angela as I saw Anthony approach them.
"What the fuck is he doin'?" I hissed seeing my frat brother whisper in Kayla’s ear as she blushed, nodding as he pulled her away from Angela and they began dancing.
“Looks like he knows a beautiful woman when he sees one and he asked her to dance,” Darnell said as I growled.
“Fuckin’ freshman thinking he can come in here and do what he wants. Let me set his ass straight,” I hissed finishing my beer.
“Um, why can’t he ask her to dance? She’s single and so is he," Darnell said as I stormed past him not wanting to talk to his ass anymore.
Soon as I got closer Robin slid in front of me catching me off guard. "Hey, I have been looking for you, let’s dance," she said throwing her arms around me as I reluctantly danced with her.
I didn't know how to feel as Kayla looked at me in shock and uncertainty as Robin and I danced. I knew by her eyes she was hurt by my dating choice of the night.
Sighing I tried to play it cool as our eyes seemed to fall deeper into each other before she laid her head on Anthony’s shoulder avoiding my gaze as he seemed to be enjoying it a little too much for my liking.
"Motherfucka," I whispered as Robin pulled back looking at me. "What’s wrong babe?" She asked as I played it off. " Uh, nothin’ let’s go upstairs after this song. I know better things we could be doin', " I said as her eyes lit up.
Yea, I was wrong but I didn’t care at the moment.
"Hands up here now," I heard Kayla say as she moved Anthony's hands back to her waist. He had been trying to caress her ass.
"I'm sorry beautiful," he said as I saw red, I don’t even know what came over me as I stepped away from Robin and went towards them.
"What are you doing!? I know you ain't going over there, she don't need you to save her!" Robin hissed following me. Hell I don’t even know what I’m doing, but I know he ain’t gon’ be touchin’ on her like that.
"Aye, you need to keep your hands to yourself," I said interrupting their dance gently grabbing her arm and moving her behind me as I stepped in Anthony’s face.
"What is your problem, Melo?! We were just dancing," Kayla said as Anthony smirked.
"Ain’t it obvious, he can’t take somebody else takin’ an interest in you Kay, he just wants you to be his little plaything," Anthony said as I grabbed him by the collar snatching his ass up.
"My problem is every time I turn around yo’ bitch ass tryin’ to take something that belongs to me,” I hissed dangerously low as he laughed. "Oh, so she's yours huh," Anthony taunted as the music stopped and people began to stare.
"Let me talk to you for a minute," Kayla whispered grabbing my hand, as I let go of Anthony. I was getting more pissed by the second looking at his cocky ass.
"I know you new freshman, so you don't know me. Keep smirking, I'll knock all your fuckin' teeth out," I hissed, his smirk dropping instantly.
"No your not, let's go," Kayla said steering me towards the stairs as the music started back up.
"Don’t you go up there with her Carmelo! If you do I’m going home!" Robin yelled following us upstairs as Kayla rolled her eyes.
"Just go home, I'll call you later Robin," I said trying to not cause a scene seeing a few people were still looking at us.
"I’m serious, you go in there don't ever call me again," she said as Kayla opened my door pushing me inside before turning to face her.
"Good! It'll save him a trip to the free clinic! Anybody fucking you ends up with something bleach can't wash off and a ten day perscription of penicillin, Bye, irrelevant!" Kayla yelled slamming the door in Robins's face as I heard her scream on the other side of the door before walking away.
"Aye, you didn’t have to be so rude," I said as Kayla laughed sarcastically.
" Really, you wanna talk about rude. All I was doing was dancing with him and you come over acting like an asshole," she said as I invaded her space pushing her up against my door towering over her.
"I’m sorry ok, I just saw him touchin’ you and I wasn’t thinking," I said honestly caressing her face as she nervously bit her lip before my lips gently grazed hers.
"We need to talk Mel," she whispered as I groaned reluctantly stepping away from her. She was right we needed to talk badly but I didn't want to do it now.
"Ok, what are we talking about?" I asked frustrated the moment was ruined as she looked at me in disbelief.
"Are you serious?  Well, let’s talk about why all of a sudden you actin’ like you my man," Kaylas said as I sighed feeling the anger in me boiling. She couldn’t see that I liked her.
"We’re friends Carmelo, remember that night wasn’t supposed to change us," she rambled running her hands through her hair, pacing.
"I know what we agreed on, I ain’t dumb!" I yelled as a knock on the door interrupted us.
"I heard yelling….Are you ok in there, Kayla?" Angela asked as she tried to calm her breathing before she responded.
The last thing I needed was Angela bustin’ up in here making matters worse.
"Yeah, I’m good I’ll be down in a minute so we can go," Kayla said as Angela tried to open the door.
"She’s fine Angela, damn!" I hissed as Kayla sighed. "Don’t get no attitude with me 'cause you fucking stupid. Jealous ass, I’ll be downstairs Kayla,” Angela said as quietness filled the room.
"What are we doin'? This isn’t us, why are we arguing with each other Carmelo. What’s really wrong?” Kayla asked.
Ok, tell her how you feel…This may be your last chance.
" I’m cool, we’re cool. I’m just trying to say before you put yourself back out there, just know women can’t do what men do," I said as Kayla frowned at me.
"What are you tryin' to say?" she asked as I tried to choose my words wisely. "I don’t want a bad reputation following you, I mean all it takes is you opening your legs to one of these idiots and then you are labeled as a whore," I said as I saw the flash of anger cross her beautiful face.
Fuck, I opened the gates of hell.
"Are you saying I’m a whore!?" Kayla exclaimed as I growled. "No! I ain’t sayin’ you’re a whore! I’m sayin’ don’t be out here in these streets grinding up on these clowns like a needy whore that will ride anybody’s dick," I said as Kayla reached up and slapped the fuck outta me.
How dare you? I wasn't grinding on no motherfuckin' body, we were just dancing. Meanwhile, you fuck anything with a gash and me simply just dancing with someone leads to a conversation as to how you don’t want me to be a whore..You're unbelievable," Kayla said throwing her hands up in frustration as I rubbed my face.
"Look, I ain’t gon’ argue with you. I said what I said and if you don’t like it, you can leave. I’m sure Anthony is ready to make you his new little plaything anyway. I’m sure he’ll love that lil trick you do with your mouth,” I said not believing the words coming out of my mouth.
I was supposed to be telling her I loved her, but here I was spewing venom towards her because another man was interested in her.
"I tell you what, I’d rather be his plaything than your so-called best friend?  Hell, maybe he can actually satisfy me better than you did, so fuck you! she yelled storming out of my room, slamming the door behind her.
"DAMN ITTTT!!" I yelled sinking into the couch as I realized the finality of my words.
I had lost my best friend and the woman I loved.
-----
"Aye, earth to Melo! I heard Darnell yell as I cringed. "Stop yelling, I heard you," I said trying to get myself together. " I saw ya'll talking is everything good now? he asked as I smiled.
" We're gonna get together before the weekend is over," I said honestly feeling a little about the weekend. "That’s good to hear, hopefully, ya’ll move past this,” he said as we went back to join the party.
I hoped so, I knew one thing was for certain tonight was the time to shoot my shot and I planned on making my intentions loud and clear.
I wanted Kayla and nothing was going to stop me from telling her this time, not even myself.

PHIRSTPHAM ALUMNI BALL
Kayla's POV
“Angela thank you so much for helping me find a dress,” I said looking myself over in the mirror as she touched up her makeup.
The Emerald gold hue colored dress looked good on me. The dress being off the shoulder with the built in bra enhanced the beauty of it. Also, who could go wrong with showin' a little leg. Yea, I’m wearing the hell outta this dress right now if I may say so.
“Yea, I was gonna comment on your Instagram post, but you disabled your comments bitch,” she said as I shrugged my shoulders.
“Yes, I did because when Carmelo liked it I kind of panicked. I knew he was going to comment next, then his fans would see it and I ain’t with all that attention,”  I said as Angela nodded in agreement.
“Ah, I get it, I actually don’t blame you on that one,” she said as we made our way back into the dining hall. The night had been going well but I was getting ready to soon leave.
Two hours was enough for me and I hadn’t seen Carmelo yet so my nerves were a little on edge. I can’t believe how just a hug from him was breaking down the walls I had built up. But for now, I’m going to enjoy the rest of my weekend.
“Heeeyyy, the party jumpin’ now,” I said looking at the crowded dance floor. “Gril, here come Anthony, don’t look,” Angela said as I sighed truly not in the mood.
“Damn,I was hoping he wouldn’t see me,” I whispered. I knew he was going to ask me to dance. Now don’t get me wrong, “I’ll give all my love to you” by Keith Sweat is one of my favorite songs but I ain’t dancing with his ass.
After the blow up with Carmelo I pretty much stayed away from his frat house all together. That didn’t stop Anthony from spreading rumors that he and I had slept together. So, yea I had to rock his shit one good time too.
“You ladies look amazing,” he said sizing us up as Angela cleared her throat. “Thanks, Anthony” I said as he smiled brightly at me.
“Kayla, may I have this dance?” he asked as I felt someone grab my hand gently bringing it to their lips. I actually sighed in relief seeing it was Carmelo as he smiled at me.
“She’s with me Anthony, ain't nothin' changed Bruh. Let's go Kay, I owe you a dance,” Carmelo said smoothly steering me away as Angela smiled.
“Well ok then Melo, come through boo,” Angela said as I blushed. She always hyping him up in his bullshit.
“Thank you, I was about to have a flashback and was probably gon’ rock his ass again like I did you earlier,” I said as he laughed pulling me close on the dance floor as we danced.
Carmelo’s POV
Step one complete I had her in my arms again our foreheads touching as I caressed her waist swaying to the music. She felt so good, this was a dream it had to be.
I love you in the night
I wanna take it real real slow, my baby
I understand what you told me
And if I, I didn't know
I always wanted someone just like you
“Thank you for dancing with me,” I whispered as she pulled back slightly, those beautiful eyes stirring something deep in my soul.
“Thanks for saving the day like you always use to do,” she smiled as I felt all my troubles melt away. She just didn’t know but I would always protect her.
I really need to hold on, hold you
I'd give the world to you, oh my darlin'
You know I will
Yeah yeah you know i will
I surely will
“You are so beautiful; you know that right?” I asked, caressing her face as she looked away.
“Carmelo,” she started as I cut her off gently grasping her face making her look at me. The more I stared into her beautiful eyes, it seemed the more I got lost.
“Just be in the moment with me,” I pleaded, gently kissed her forehead, as she relaxed in my arms.
I will never do anything to hurt you
I'll give all my love to you
(I'm gonna give you every bit of my love, my love)
And if you need me, baby, I'll come runnin' (yes I will)
Only to you (yes my baby yes I will)
I looked over and saw Trick dancing with Angela as he smiled at me giving me a thumbs up. Smiling, I closed my eyes just enjoying Kayla being in my arms again as she laid her head on my chest.
One of her hands resting on my back as the other caressed my arm and not just any arm but the one that contained the tattoo I had joked about getting four years earlier.
“You remember, don’t you? You know it’s your tattoo,” I whispered in her ear, unafraid of the answer as she nodded against me.
I no longer had anything to hide from her.
Girl I've been longing for you baby for a long long time
Let's make love tonight
I can make me feel real good baby
I can make feel real good baby
Sometimes, sometimes I get a little lonely, baby (so lonely baby)
“Why,” she whispered as I leaned down and gently placed a kiss on her bare shoulder. “Why wouldn’t I? I wanted to carry you with me always, you’re my best friend and I love you,” I whispered as I felt her still in my arms.
And I need a little love that I can call all mine (I need some lovin')
Girl, you are the one for me, babe
I know that you are the world for me, babe
“I can’t do this, I’m sorry,” Kayla whispered pulling away, walking off the dance floor.
Defeated, my eyes met Trick’s who pointed, silently telling me to go after her.
He was right, I couldn’t let the chance pass me by again. I rushed off the dance floor determined to catch her before she left.
Kayla’s POV
“Don't fall for it... He didn’t mean it Kayla, stop being weak,” I muttered to myself pacing. I felt in flight or fight mode as I saw Carmelo rushing towards me. “Look, I forgave you ok, so you don’t have to do this,” I cried trying to put some space between us as I tried to leave again.
“Kayla we can’t keep running from this baby,” Carmelo said blocking my path as I felt my anxiety rising.
This couldn’t be happening right now, he didn’t love me, he couldn’t.
“Why are you doin’ this!?” I cried as he caressed my face. “I’m doin’ It because I should have told you that night. I should have told you that I loved you,” Carmelo confessed as I felt the room closing in.
“No, no, you couldn’t have,” I whispered as I felt the air rushing out of my lungs.
“I’m sorry to just spring all this on you but, I don’t wanna make the same mistake twice. I can’t let you walk away from me again without telling you. I still love you Kayla and I know you love me too,” Carmelo declared without fear, claiming my lips in an eager kiss.
I will never do anything to hurt you
(I would never, never do one little thing to hurt you)
I'll give all my love to you
My mind was fuzzy as our kisses became more passionate, was this really happening right now.
“I’ma leave, and give you some time,” Carmelo whispered against my lips as I whimpered at the loss.
“I want you to come to me when you’re ready to admit you love me just as much as I love you, he said gently brushing his lips against mine before rushing off towards the elevators.
And if you need me, baby, I'll come runnin'
Only to you
Running towards the bathroom I locked myself in a stall trying to process what had happened. All this time he loved me, all this time lost.
Did I love him? Who am I kidding, I’ve always loved him and I thought I was over it until I saw him today, and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
His words continuing to echo in my head as I got myself together.  Finally building up the courage to come out of the bathroom I ran into what felt like a brick wall as a strong set of arms steadied me.
"Hey, I'm Carmelo's friend Trick. I was looking for him, have you seen him,” the gentleman said as I looked at Angela, who stood behind him.
“He left and went upstairs,” I said as Trick frowned. “So did ya’ll talk?” Angela asked as I nodded.
“Kayla, did he tell you how he felt?” Trick asked as I nodded again.
"Uh, can you give us an answers and stop all that damn nodding," Angela said I sighed.
“He told me he loved me and that he always had,” I said overwhelmed as Angela squealed in delight. “I knew it! My eyes don’t fool me," she said as I wiped my tears.
“How do you feel about what Melo said?” Trick asked as I contemplated his words.
“I love him too;” I said feeling relieved to say it out loud as Angela hugged me.
“Then go to him,” she whispered as I nodded in understanding. I guess this is what she mean the other day about me putting my big girl panties on.
I had to tell him he wasn’t wrong, I did love him.
“Trick, Do you know what room he’s in?' I asked as he smiled. “Room 984,” he said without hesitation as I gave him a hug.
"Thank you and it was nice meeting you," I whispered as he laughed returning my embrace.
“Nice metting you too Kayla, and I’m sure we will be hanging out soon. Especially if your friend Angela here gives me her number,” he said as I smiled at him before I took off towards the elevator.
“Get ya’ man and have some mind-blowing sex you deserve it!” Angela yelled as Trick laughed. "Trick you better keep your eyes on that one," I said getting on the elevator anxiously waiting for the doors to close.
I felt nervous, the elevator seemed to be going so slow. I almost changed my mind, but the loud dinging noise let me knew I had reached my destination as I walked in a daze to room 984.
Taking a deep breath, I lightly knocked hoping he wouldn’t hear me, and I could leave.
“Damn no such luck,” I muttered as I heard him fumbling around the room. Just do what you feel Kayla, you already know he feels the same. Speak your peace and leave it at that.
Last night I thought to back to when we made good love
Listenin' to some Marvin Gaye all night long
Now I want that old thing back
It was like time stood still as he opened the door clad in only a towel and a surprised look on his face. Wasting no time and closing the distance between us, I leaped into his arms, capturing his lips in a passionate kiss.
It’s power startling us both as we moaned in pleasure as our ever-present need for each other continued to grow more intense by the second as we got lost in each other.
Reluctantly parting to catch our breath, Carmelo looked at me in wonder, caressing my hips.
Make these moments once again a fact
So won't ya, won't ya, uhhh, do it for us, babe
“So, you do love me?” he whispered in disbelief as I caressed his face his piercing gaze had me under his spell.
“I love you, Carmelo,” I whispered against his lips as he groaned reclaiming my lips, pulling me against his bare chest and into his room, slamming the door.
“I love you too, baby,” he moaned as his hands masterfully unzipped my dress causing it to fall at my feet as I shivered feeling exposed under his intense gaze.
“Are we really doin’ this?” I panted as his eyes continued to roam my body. “Yes, and your even more beautiful than I remembered,” he moaned, his breath now hot on my neck as he slowly grazed his lips across my neck, helping me out of my underwear.
I couldn’t contain my moans of pleasure as Carmelo entangled his fingers in my hair, kissing and nibbling on my neck.
Purring against him I felt myself losing control as his towel fell, a barrier no longer between us.
Good lovin, body rockin' knockin' boots all night long yeah
Makin' love until we tire to the break of dawn
But oh, come on, a-come on
“Melo, baby,” I moaned as he growled, his hands caressing my breasts as he teasingly sucked and nipped at them as my grip on his head tightened.
“I need to taste you, Peaches, I bet you taste so sweet,” he groaned using his tongue, licking a path from my stomach to my pelvis as he kneeled before me.
And turn the lights down, and let me get on it, yeah
‘Cause when I do, just me and you, it'll be so right
“Can I taste you, Peaches?” he moaned caressing my thighs wrapping them around his shoulders as I trembled with anticipation as he kissed my inner thigh trailing his tongue over my wet center.
Carmelo’s POV
“Yes! Please baby,” Kayla gasped, arching her hips against my tongue as I tasted her. Her hands gripping my face as I licked and sucked on her clit. “Mmm, you taste so sweet peaches. I knew you would baby,” I praised, her eyes rolling back in her head as I pleased her.
Her moans urging me on as I swirled my flattened tongue around her swollen sensitive clit over and over as she whimpered underneath me.
A-give me some good love
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots)
A-give me some good love
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots) Somebody rockin', baby, ooh
“Carmelo! Oh, fuck!” Kayla moaned as I groaned savoring her taste. Gripping her ass and standing up while still lapping up her juices, I lifted her higher into the air.
“What are you doing!” she gasped in shock and pleasure as my hungry eyes met hers. Her back planted firmly against the wall as she shivered against my mouth.
“I'm eating my dessert baby,” I moaned devouring her sweet wet center as her legs trembled around my neck.
I feel so good when I'm near you
That's why I always wanna be close to you
“Give me what I want Peaches,” I moaned against her as her gasps were coming in short spurts, I knew she was close.
“I want it now Kayla,” I moaned swirling my tongue one last time around her clit before taking it in my mouth sucking it gently as she rode my face, her head thrown back in pleasure.
"Oh God! Melo, I...." She trailed off as her whole body began to shake as her orgasm hit her strong as I slid my tongue inside her making her scream and writhe against my mouth as her orgasm continued to overtake her.
I moaned loudly as her essence drenched my mouth as I welcomed it.
Enjoying watching the pleasure on her face, I gently unwrapping her thighs from around my neck.  Maintaining my grip, I slowly slid her down my body as she leaned forward kissing me with urgency.
“I need you,” I panted against her lips as she arched her back against the wall as I entered her swiftly, as a strangled moan escaped her beautiful lips.
I'm so addicted, I'm so addicted
To makin' love to you, baby
All night long, baby, all night long, long, long, long
Her moans mixed with the feel of her pulsing around me had me reelin’. “Fuck! Shit, I missed this Kay,” I confessed reclaiming her as she clawed at my back.
“I missed you too Carmelo,” she moaned as I bounced her with ease on my dick. Her arms around my neck and her knees locked on top of my arms as we rocked against each other.
“Yea, bounce on this dick… Bounce on it like a good girl. You like how this dick feels in this pussy don’t you?” I moaned.
“Carmelo, yes! Fuck me! Umph,” She groaned sucking on my neck, her wetness soaking my dick as it got louder with each thrust.
Kayla’s POV
“Yea, this that grown man shit, you like it don’t you? That pussy so wet for me Peaches, you takin’ it so good baby,” Carmelo praised as I whimpered against him. “Yes! I love it!” I screamed holding on for dear life.
He was right, we weren’t shy college kids anymore.  This truly was real grown folks shit and I loved it.  Clawing at his shoulders in disbelief and pleasure, I felt that familiar tingling starting to surge downward. Good lovin', body rockin' all night long, oh, oh
Makin' love until we tire to the break of dawn
“I feel you baby, don’t fight that shit,” Carmelo panted as I whined not wanting to cum just yet. “I got you, I’ma make you cum,” he groaned as I gasped, his thrusts becoming more powerful as he revealed his plan for the night.
“Tonight, you gon’ cum again…and again…and again…and again,” he groaned as I fell apart in his arms, his mouth swallowing my cries as he held me tight.
“Yea, that’s it, you so fuckin’ beautiful,” he whispered against my lips.
But oh, come on, come on and turn the lights down, and let me get on it, uh
‘Cause when I do, just me and you, it'll be so right, so right, so right
Each stroke masterfully takin’ my breath away. “I want you to cum baby,” I whispered wanting him to let himself go.
I wanted to see his face as he found his sweet release as he eased us onto the bed towering over me. “Spread them legs wide for me Peaches, we gon’ get this one together, baby,” he groaned, his mouth once again overpowering mine as his strokes became deeper and harder.
“Yes! Carmelo! Cum with me,” I gasped as the new position allowed him deeper inside me.
“Mmhm, I’m real deep in this pussy, it feels so good too baby,” he praised. Moving in sync with him I knew he was close. His muscles began to twitch under my touch.
A-give me some good love
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots)
“Your mine,” I moaned as a low growl fell from his lips as I traced my tongue against his lips as he caught it between his lips gently sucking on it.
“You mine too, you always been mine,” he moaned as my pussy pulsed tightly around him again. Smirking, he placed two of his fingers inside my mouth as I gently sucked on them.
“Fuck yea, good girl Peaches,” he whispered taking his fingers and begins rubbing against my clit matching in tune with his strokes.
“Ahh! Baby I’m cumin!!” I exclaimed, his growls becoming louder as his body shook in ecstasy exploding inside me.
‘Cause I'm ready
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots) I'm so ready
I'm so ready, baby
“You felt so fuckin’ good. Shit, that was amazin’” he moaned gently kissing me as we came down from our trip of ecstasy.
“You ain’t never lied. Can’t wait until we do it again,” I whispered as he groaned against my lips.
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots)
To give you everything that we've been waitin' on
(Somebody rockin' knockin' da boots)
“Best homecoming ever,” he panted collapsing beside me as I laughed.
“I have to agree, it’s definitely one for the books,” I said smiling.
“So does this mean you gon’ be my girl,” he whispered running his fingers through my hair as I laughed.
“Uh, I would hope so, you done gave me head in the air…The damn air Carmelo, that definitely was a first for me and the rest I can’t even talk about right now because the feeling in my legs ain’t back yet,” I said as he laughed.
“That was hot as fuck wasn’t it. It’s you, I ain’t never done no shit like that, you make me this way,” he whispered pulling me close as I kissed his tattoo.
“Well, tonight was definitely happy tears,” I said caressing his tattoo as he smiled.
“I promise as long as you my girl, it’s always going to be is happy tears, I promise you baby,” he declared as I snuggled further into his arms.
“I love you,” I whispered as I felt his heart beating faster.
“I love you too Kayla,” he replied dropping a tender kiss on my forehead.
Where do we go from here, I didn’t know but I knew he was my man and it was going to stay that way.

“Alright, I think this is everything.”
He could barely see where he was going over the stolen sewing supplies piled in his arms, but he knew he was headed in the right direction thanks to the soft hum of acknowledgement coming from inside his bedroom. Tottering his way over to the corner, he deposited all of his mom’s supplies onto his bed before selecting the thickest hot pink thread he could find and a sharpened upholstery needle and turning to face his guest.
“What about this one?”
The corpse of the young lady stood there, hair still a little wet from her first-ever shower and completely entranced by the feathered sleeves of his mother’s flowy pink nightgown. He stood there for a moment and watched the dead girl wave her arms slowly back and forth to watch the sheer fabric of the sleeves follow in their wake, and took a moment to wonder just when his life took a turn into Mary Shelley territory.
He had been totally scared out of his wits earlier; all he had wanted was a night alone on the couch while his brother, mom and stepdad went to a movie, able to start re-watching through his VHS collection without fear of judgment when a absolutely filthy being crashed through the window, stumbling after him and groaning as he tried and failed to flee. After finding the creature-who he quickly realized was, or at least once had been, a woman-sitting apologetically in the living room and looking at him with sad eyes, he decided that he might get further talking to her than running from her.
And any reservations against connecting with the woman died away when he realized that she was the one whose grave he had been tending to for the past few months, the reanimated corpse of a person buried under a tombstone that only said “Unmarried”.
And so he helped her get cleaned up, letting her shower the nearly century of grime away until he could see slightly bloodshot eyes, a shy smile, frizzy hair teased and tangled within an inch of his life and with a deep and disturbing gash in her left shoulder that needed attention.
Hence the sewing supplies.
“I have no idea which of this stuff is…quality or whatever, but my mom has very high standards in terms of the things she buys and especially for her hobbies, I mean, you should have seen how much she spent on fake rhinestones last year, but I think this might be the best stuff to use? I don’t think neon existed in your time but I think you might like this color judging on how much you like that robe.”
The corpse looked up at his voice, locked eyes with the thread and immediately smiled, excited by the vibrant color and opening her mouth to speak, but upon remembering that decay had taken that ability, she began gesturing wildly, clapping and pointing at the thread and then to her butchered shoulder. He got the message quickly enough and cleared the rest of the sewing supplies off of his bed, sitting down by his pillow and gesturing for her to sit on his left. She complied, and he gently guided their torsos so that he was looking at her back, with her turned towards the door to allow him access.
He unraveled much more thread than necessary and stared at the eye of the needle, completely lost. She must have noticed his hesitance, because she silently reached a hand back and made a ‘give me’ gesture. He placed the needle and thread in her freezing palm and watched over her shoulder as thin fingers-clumsy with a century of deterioration-threaded the string through the eye of the needle and tied it for him, handing it back to him with a small smile. He returned the gesture.
“Thanks.”
She bowed her head slightly, and lowered the shoulder of the robe and the nightgown underneath, brushing her wayward hair out of the way to expose the gash that he presumed had killed her. He didn’t want to dwell too much on it, head already spinning with the implications of such a wound, so he gently rested his hand on the robe, the threaded needle poised in the other hand.
It was only then that he realized that he had no idea what he was doing.
“Uh..how do I…?”
The corpse’s shoulders shook like she was giggling, and she turned her head to lock eyes with him. Slowly, with the stump of one hand and the fingers of the other, she mimed stabbing something with a needle, then pulling the thread through, then the nice, even stitching and repetition of the motion, and then finally pulling the stitches tight and tying off the work, complete with biting the thread to cut it. He nodded, taking the offered needle and thread.
“Okay then, let’s…let’s do this.”
She nodded and turned back towards the door, letting him work in peace. It took him a few moments to prepare himself for what he was about to do, and, as gently as he could, stuck the needle in her skin.
He flinched and expected her to do the same, but she sat perfectly still, examining the feathers on the robe a bit more.
“Did that hurt?”
His voice was edged with concern, but when she turned her head to look at him, her eyes were gentle and calm. She shook her head minutely.
“Do you feel…anything?”
She thought for a moment, gaze wandering away from his before she shrugged, settling back with her face to the door to signal the end of the discussion. He took a moment to absorb this new knowledge, then let out a shaky exhale and turned back to his work.
“Okay then. Here we go. I;m sorry if this comes out…totally terrible but you have to understand I’ve never done anything like this before but I am far from a trained professional.”
The corpse hummed her assent and continued to play with her sleeves, and he could see the smallest corner of a smile playing on her gaunt lips. He tried to ignore what that sight did to his heart and got to work, slowly stitching together the corpse who had quite literally crashed into his life and correctly guessing it would not be the last time he did so.

A House
Part: 1
Author's Note: this chapter will be just establishing the relationship between Matty and Lilah. This chapter is them as kids then next chapter will probably be them as teens and that's where all the drama starts. I hope you all give this a chance and i really hope y'all like this. If it's shitty, shut the fuck up.

Matty and Lilah - Age 11
“Lilah, where’d you go?” Matty had asked “I’ve been seeking for ages, I’m tired and I’m hungry. You win, can we please go back to my house now? My mum has dinner ready for us. It’s gonna be cooooold.”
Finally he sees her drop from the branches of a tree.
“You’ve been in a tree this whole time?” He asked with his eyebrows raised to his hairline.
“Yeah, you walked past me a whole lot. It was hard not to laugh or move.” Lilah had walked to him while giggling a bit.
“Well you won fair and square.” Matty said as he picked a small branch out of Lilah’s hair, “can we go and eat now? I’m starving.”
“Yeah, let’s go!” Lilah has said as she began to race back to Matty's house.
The two ran towards the house with Lilah in the lead, Matty following slightly behind.
They ran until they reached the back steps of the house when Lilah called out
“I won.”
“You didn’t win. There was nothing to win.”
“What do you mean? It was a race, and I got here first. Therefore, I win.” she beamed at him.
“You never declared a race, Delilah.” he said enunciating the syllables in her name.
“I think you’re just bitter that you didn’t win any of today's games. Not only did I win hide and seek, but I also just won this race. Is your ego hurt?’’ she said while pouting her mouth at him, “oh poor baby. Little baby Matty didn’t win against a girl!” she laughed.
“That is not true and you know it. You won hide and seek but you did not win a race because there was no race.” he playfully punched her arm.
“Whatever you say, whatever helps you sleep at night.” Lilah had said as she walked into the house.
“You’re such a twat.” he tells her as he holds the door open for her.
“Matthew Timothy Healy, what did you just say?”
The boy felt his spine stiffen as he shivered from the booming of that voice.
“Nothing mum, Lilah and I were just talking about the games we played today.” Matty had told her.
“Is he telling the truth, Lilah? Is my boy being honest with me right now?” Denise, Mattys mother, had asked the girl, raising an eyebrow at her with a sly smile.
“Yes, Denise. We just played a few games today and were talking about how I won every single game.” Lilah had responded, making her way to sit at the dining table.
“You did not win every game today.” Matty exclaimed, “I won the first round of hide and seek and the race didn’t even count because it was never declared a race.”
“You only “won” the first round of hide and seek because you wouldn’t stop crying after you’d fallen in the creek and bruised your leg on the rocks. And that race was declared a race. Stop being bitter that you’ve lost to a girl… again.” she laughed.
“I’m not bitter, there’s nothing to be bitter about, cause I won fair and square and no I did not cry. I’m a big boy.” Matty said as he took a seat next to Lilah.
“Yes you are Matthew.” Denise said as she placed some plates of steaming hot food in front of the pair, ruffling Matty's hair at the same time.
“Mum.” Matty had whined, “Not the hair. It’s what gets me all the ladies.”
“What ladies?” Lilah asked.
“Yeah what ladies?” Denise followed up with.
“Ya know, the ladies.” Matty responded to both of them.
“Oh yeah, the ladies in your imagination.” Lilah said as she tried to suppress a laugh.
“Alright kids, eat up. It’s getting late and Lilah has to go back home.” Denise had told the kids as she walked to the sink to wash some of the dishes.
“No. Can I stay with Lilah tonight? or can she stay here?” Matty had looked at his mom with a frown and furrowed eyebrows.
It was merely impossible to separate the two. They were always at each other's sides. Since they’d met, they never went a day without seeing each other. They would often spend the night at each other's houses, cause they couldn’t bear to part for so long. If the two were ever separated for long hours at a time, you could see the color and light drain from their eyes. They would both be timid and anxious the whole time, wondering when they would be able to see the other again. It also didn’t help that Lilah got made fun of in school. She was constantly bullied for playing like a boy and acting like one. Lilah was always frightened so she stuck near Matty, knowing she felt safe when he was present. And Matty always worried about Lilah and wanted to protect her and keep her safe. So he stuck next to her, not letting her out of his sight.
“If Lilah's family is alright with it, then you two can spend the night here. After dinner, go take Lilah home and ask her family’s permission.” Denise had told the kids.
-=+=-
After gobbling down their dinner, Matty and Lilah made their way to Lilah's house. It wasn’t a far track but it was far enough that no one wanted Lilah to walk home alone, whether it was day or night, she always had to be accompanied.
On their walk to Lilah’s house, the two talked:
“What’d you wanna do tomorrow?” Matty asked as he kicked some rocks under his shoe.
“I dunno. We could go swimming in the creek? Then we could dry off in the field by my house.”
“Sure, but I have to help my dad in the field, but that’s early in the morning though. I think you’ll still be asleep by the time I’m done.” Matty smiled.
“Maybe. I can help you though, so you can get it done faster.”
“No it’s alright Lilah. I’m a big boy, remember?” he said flexing his scrawny bicep.
“Right. Just wake me when you’re done so we can go to the creek.”
As the sun was setting, the two made it to Lilah’s house. Lilah led the way as Matty followed closely behind.
Upon entering the house, Lilah and Matty were met by Lilah’s parents who were sitting in their living room having a light conversation.
“Hi mom, Hi dad.” Lilah said.
“Hello Mr. and Mrs. Finnegan. Lovely to see you guys.” Matty said as he greeted them.”
“Please Matthew, you’ve known us for years, you can drop the Mr. and Mrs.” stated Lilah’s mother.
“Sorry.” Matty blushed.
“Can I stay with Matty tonight? Or can he stay here?” Lilah asked
“You two can spend the night at Matty’s. It’ll be easier rather than having to send him home to tell his mother and having him come all the way back. Be careful, love. I’ll see you tomorrow. I love you.”
Mrs. Finnegan had told her daughter.
Lilah ran up to her mother to hug her and kiss her goodnight, saying a farewell to her father as well.
The two said their goodbyes and made their way back to Matty’s house as the sun had just set. During the walk the two talked about the most outrageous things like how Matty had shoved his ice cream cone in another kid's face because that kid was bullying Lilah. It had made Lilah laugh, and Matty loved seeing and hearing her laugh, especially when she’s laughing because of him.
Matty and Lilah had made their way back to Matty’s house and gotten ready for bed. As per usual, Matty slept on the floor and let Lilah sleep on his bed.
“Matty?” Lilah asked into the darkness of the room.
“Yeah?”
“Do you think we’ll be friends forever?”
“Yeah, you’re stuck with me forever. No matter how much I annoy you, you won’t be able to get rid of me.”
“You don’t annoy me, you could never annoy me.”
“Don’t worry Lilah. I’m staying, nothing bad will ever happen, okay?” Matty asked while looking up at her from the floor.
“Okay.” Lilah smiled as she looked down at him.
“Goodnight Lilah”
“Goodnight Matty”

DPxDC Family Week June 22 (Day 5)
Prompt: Children | Music
A/N: Super random and I had no idea what to do with the prompts until a couple hours ago.
AO3 Link: DPxDC Family Week Contributions
It was supposed to be a slow and easy day, barely anything big happening. Just a day for them all to chill and relax. Danny really had hoped for that one calm day. He had gotten Jason to come to the Manor to help him with his literature homework. It took a lot of convincing but in the end he managed to convince his second oldest brother to come. Normally he would have asked Jazz or Barbara but the girls were out on a girls night Steph had demanded.
He knows that Dick was also in the Mansion the moment Danny had let it slip a day earlier that he had gotten Jason to agree to help him; the eldest had announced that was going to come visit too. Of course to spend time with the two youngest Damian and Ellie who were busy caring for the animals in Damians Barn. That he got to hang out with Jason, read: force a hangout, was just a bonus.
Bruce was probably in the office and Alfred was in the kitchen baking.
Everything sounds like a nice and calm day doesn't it? Yea, Danny would have thought so too if it weren't for that sudden slip of cold air leaving his lips as well as a certain ghost looking at him through his Textbook.
He blinked, Jason blinked, they blinked.
"Desiree?" Danny carefully started. "What are you doing here?"
She was supposed to be in the Ghost Zone, specifically in Walker's Prison on time out for granting Condiment King of all people a wish and nearly flooding all of Gotham in mustard, ketchup and other things. Lady Gotham hadn't been very amused either, which was why Desiree should be in Walker's Prison.
The ghost in question only smiled brightly at him and he resisted the urge to close the book in her face. He could see Jason digging around in his bag, ever since the ghost had followed him to Gotham he had made sure that all of his siblings had at least something to catch them. "Well hello there Phantom. I just wanted to see if anyone wanted anything."
Before he could answer her she slipped away from them. Danny cursed in a way that would make Jason proud as he jumped off his chair, changed forms and followed the other ghost through the floor, barely remembering to yell at his brother to tell the others to not utter anything that could remotely sound like a good damn wish.
Too bad Danny had not anticipated Desiree going to the Kitchen were Alfreed and Bruce were apparently having a little nostalgic chat. In which Alfred just happens to say that he wished he had more photos of the times all of them had been children.
One wish granting ghosts intermission later…
Alfred blinked at where Bruce had been sitting a couple seconds ago. No, Bruce was still sitting there but he was not the adult he had been talking to but the six years old version.
"Master Bruce?"
The child looked up at him, tilting their head. "Alfred? Why do you look so old? Older than you normally do?"
Well wasn't that a predicament, Alfred mused. "Master Bruce, what is the last thing you remember?"
"Mom and Dad told me they were going on a business trip and I would be alone with you in the Manor for a while."
Okay that was something Alfred could work with. Surely one of the children could tell him what was going on. Maybe Daniel had an idea, this could be something related to the Infinite Realms after all.
"Alfred! Do you know where Father is?" The butler turned to the kitchen entrance only to find Damian and Danielle each holding onto the hands of a young Richard. "Richard suddenly turned into a child and he doesn't appear to remember us."
"I don't remember you because I don't know you." The child between the two frowned at them. "How did I get here? Did you kidnap me?"
"We didn't twerp. You got de-aged." Danielle was clearly fessed up with young Richard and Alfred couldn't help but chuckle.
"Who are you guys and why are you at my home?" Bruce suddenly piped up jumping of his chair and rushing over to the three.
"I live here, who are you brat?" Danielle questioned in return before Damian could say anything, her eyes narrowed at the young Bruce.
"Nu-uh. I live here with Mom and Dad. You're the stranger."
"Hi I am Richard but call me Dick, I got kidnapped."
"We did not kidnap you."
"Hi, I am Bruce and that's Alfred."
"Alfred, this boy… is that father?"
"I am afraid so, Master Damian."
Before anything further could be discussed the screaming of two other children could be heard. Bruce and Dick rushed out of curiosity toward the noise as children were. Damian and Ellie quickly followed behind them. Alfred didn't take long to also follow them.
The five of them did not expect to find more children but these two were brawling. Two similar looking young boys were currently fighting each other biting, hair pulling and even punching while screaming at each other.
"NO JAZZ TOLD ME STEALING IS BAD!"
"SHUT UP YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT!"
"NO! YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT!"
"NO YOU!"
Alfred did recognise one of them as Jason while the other most likely was Daniel. Clearing his throat the butler waited for the two brawling children to notice him before pulling them apart. "Master Jason. Master Daniel. You two shouldn't fight inside the house."
Danny scrunched up his nose side eyeing the Butler and Ellie cooed who would have guessed that her template used to be this cute. "I don't like that. Call me Danny."
Jason on the other hand stuck his tongue out at Danny once the two got separated. "Daniel, Daniel, Daniel."
Danny glared and Ellie could only laugh at the face he was making. "Stop that."
Damian let out a sigh. "It looks like everyone but us got turned into children. What could be the cause of this?"
Danielle shrugged. "Dunno, the only I know that could do that is a ghost but she is in ghost prison."
"I will see if I can conta-"
"Weeeeeeeeeee!"
The two youngest turned oldest looked up in time to see Dick swinging on the foyers chandelier. The young child's hand slipped and suddenly the boy was free falling. Both rushed to catch the child, Ellie taking to the air and catching him while Damian on the ground let out a sigh of relief, before realizing that Jason and Bruce were gone.
Danny thankfully was still with Alfred holding on to the butler hand watching wide eyed and in awe how Ellie was slowly floating down to the ground with Richard in her arms. The boy was loudly yelling "Again" over and over.
"We need to find Father and Todd." Damian declared once Richard safely touched ground. The boy pouted but took Alfred's hand as he was told.
"I believe Master Bruce might have thought out his old room. It would be in the right wing of the second floor. In regards to Master Jason…"
"I will find him." Danielle offered, already speeing off. Damian only huffed in annoyance as the girl did not stay long enough for him to properly plan how to find the two missing children. With another huff he turned around and left to find his child turned father.
Alfred only smiled as the two now oldest children left and led the two whose hands he was holding towards the kitchen. "Master Richard, Master Daniel. How about you two help me bake some cookies?"
"They won't come to live will they?"
The butler chuckled at little Daniel's question but also noted that down as a worrisome statement he would have to inquire later about. "No they won't but they will surely taste better with two little helpers."
The boy let out a sigh in relieve as the other tilted his head slightly. "I love cookies! This is definitely the coolest time I have ever gotten kidnapped for."
"You have gotten kidnapped before? Jazz said getting kidnapped is bad."
"Nope, this is my first time! But how can it be bad if it's fun so far? I wanna swing on that ceiling thing again!"
"I wanna try that too…"
Alfreed only shook his head as he let the two children continue to talk. Whatever was happening the butler would make sure to take as many pictures as he could. This was his one golden opportunity to get these for the family albums. After all Tim had gifted him last month with the latest phone model that supposedly had one of the best cameras integrated.
--------------
Somewhere else in Gotham…..
When Tim finally got out of the meetings he took a look at his phone. Alfred had been sending pictures all day and he hadn't had the time to take a look at them. He choked on his coffee as pictures of Bruce, Dick, Jason and Danny as children greeted him. The young Co-CEO rubbed his eyes wondering if he was dreaming but then Alfred sent him a video that he instantly saved in his blackmail folder. Whatever was going on he would hold that over his brother's heads for a long time.
Duke leaned back into his chair finally taking a break from his study session. He had ignored his phone so far. Now that he was taking a break he looked at it and spluttered at the cuteness that greeted him. Wait, was that Bruce? And Dick? And Jason? And Danny? What was happening in the Manor? Wasn't today supposed to be a slow day? Hurriedly, the Meta packed up his things from his library table and made his way back home. He did stop shortly at one point to take a look at the video Alfred sent, trying but failing to stop the laugh that bubbled out of him.
The girls all crowded around the screen as Barbara pulled up a live feat from the Manors cameras. They all collectively squalled when they watched the children play. A part of them wondered if they should go to the manor to help Alfred Damian and Ellie but they were having too much fun just watching the chaos unfold on screen.
In the video and live on Barbara's screen four children were currently dancing to the strangest music with Danielle before them instructing them on how to pull off the best moves. All the children's attention was on her as she taught them everything from easy hip hop moves to the funkiest dance move she, herself could think of. Meanwhile Damian was on the sidelines, head in his hand mumbling something but because of the music neither the video Alfred was taking nore the video cams, the girls were watching them from, picked it up.
A couple day's later a blindfolded Constantine finally grazed the Wayne Manor with his presence and a solution to return the four children back to their original age. Once that was done, three out of four were certainly mortified, the fourth trying to take it with Humor all while Alfred was happily working on an additional family photo album.

A Case of Friends and Lovers
Genre: Fluff
Relationship type: best friends to lovers
Important Contents: Thank you @bangtanmix73 for the idea 😙😙
WC: 6.1k
masterlist
Chan became my friend in the third grade.
Mrs. Yoon’s class was tough enough. A tall, slender woman with her black hair streaked with the gray of her years of experience with us youngins. Constantly dressing like she was stuck in the 80s with her long skirts and her turtlenecks, she was a no-nonsense kind of lady, which wouldn’t have been the ideal kind of teacher for third graders if you asked me. If she peered over her glasses at you, you knew from her beady eyes that you wanted to never be the subject of that gaze ever again.  As the “talker” of the class, she sat me next to Chan, the quiet and good one, in hopes that he would encourage me to behave like him. Unlucky for her, her plan backfired. I instead opened him up and brought him out of his shell to his own demise. The first time I got him into trouble was still burned into my mind.
Mrs. Yoon was droning on and on about something called fractions and I had had just about enough of her voice for the day. My worksheet long since forgotten on my desk, I leaned over the aisle to poke Chan in his side rather hard and quickly sat back straight, my eyes back to the front in case the mean lady was watching. Chan yelped and pursed his lips to the side in fake anguish. I would continue to see this look a lot over the course of our friendship. Mrs. Yoon heard his squeal and glared at him.
“Mr. Bang, do not interrupt my class.” Her angry eyes were enough to make Chan’s face burn bright like a tomato. I couldn’t help but snicker as he apologized. He didn’t sit next to me at lunch that day. It wasn’t until I brought him the prettiest rock I could find, a smooth, round, white stone with dark spots to look like the moon, that he finally spoke to me again, all forgiven. That was the longest we had ever gone without speaking.
Chan became my best friend in the 6th grade.
We were walking down the cold hallways, the stench of rubber erasers and preteens still learning about deodorant forcing its way up my nostrils. It was an effort not to scream daily in those hallways, children screaming every direction you looked. This particular day was the day my period decided to rear its ugly head for the first time. It wasn’t like I didn’t know it was coming, my female friends had gotten theirs fairly recently so they had prepared me for what was to come. What I didn’t expect was for it to be quite so…. messy.
It was a very normal conversation we were having, about how his mom had gotten his lunch mixed up with his sister’s again, when I felt it; a sudden gush coming from between my legs. I stopped mid-step, kids shoving my shoulders as they kept moving. Chan had stopped a few steps ahead, just realizing that I wasn’t by his side anymore and turned back with a confused look. And then those kids started looking at me to find out why I had stopped walking, that was when the laughing started. And the pointing. I had my first panic attack that day, under the cruel eyes of everyone in that hallway.
Chan rushed to me, seeing the tears and panic in my eyes and quickly took off his jacket to tie it around my waist. He grabbed my shoulders and rushed me to the nurse. He followed me around all day to make sure no one else laughed or pointed or stared. And when someone even glanced at me with what he deemed the wrong way, he would shout at them.
“And what are YOU looking at, huh?”
They would quickly find something else much more interesting to look at and rush past us. Chan would nod at his job well done and continue whatever we were talking about, trying his best to get my mind off of this sudden change. That day we had some of the weirdest conversations we had ever had, him pulling every bizarre subject he had in his arsenal to shock me into talking about it. It was a very effective method and became a fallback in the years to come.
Chan became my secret crush in 10th grade.
It was my birthday and while my mom was a good mother, she sometimes just got too busy with her work to pay enough attention to what was going on around her. This particular birthday she forgot about. I had gotten to school and looked for Chan but he was nowhere to be found until lunch period. I was sitting by myself with my headphones in, listening to my own personal curated playlist by my one and only best friend when the doors to the lunchroom flew open and a slew of balloons were pushed through them, everyone turned to stare at the loud bang. I wondered who could possibly be coming through the doors and assumed it was for some sort of prom proposal or something. I turned my attention back to my chips and was putting one in my mouth when I looked back up to the collection of helium when I saw who was attached to them. My chewing paused and I took out my headphones.
Chan was beaming as he scanned the lunchroom and locked eyes with me. That was when I realized the balloons had ‘Happy Birthday!’ written on every. single. one. He sprinted as safely as he could without tripping over to my table, a small cake and a fast food bag in his hands along with a bright pink gift sack. My jaw dropped. I felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my head.
“Happy birthday!” He yelled as he drew closer. He set down the cake, balloons, and gift bag to throw his arms around me and suffocate me with his love. I couldn’t help my grin as he let go, his own smile infectious like always. He sat down, grabbing the food bag and laying out a nice spread in front of me.
“Is this why you’re late to school?” I giggled as I put my home lunch back in my lunchbox.
“Well duh. I couldn’t let you get away with going unnoticed on your birthday. I had to get the best for my girl!” My heart fluttered in a way I hadn’t noticed before when he said that. My veins sang as the butterflies took a hold in my stomach and remained there.
We had our lunch as the rest of the school watched, people wondering what the balloons were for when their friends explained it to them in hushed whispers. They weren’t there as far as I was concerned. All I could see was him.
That’s also when other girls started to notice him.
Chan became distant in college.
He had started dating and I hated all of the other girls that weren’t me. He always wondered why his girlfriends and I never got along, not one of them. He only saw what they wanted to see, them putting on their sweetest, most perfect facade for him as I glared at them from the sidelines. Our friendship started to suffer too.
I couldn’t blame him for wanting to be the perfect boyfriend. I just wish he would’ve realized he didn’t have to try so hard for them. He was perfect the way he was. None of them were worthy of him anyways. It annoyed me to no end how hard he would try for them while they took it and never gave it back to him like I could have. They simply weren’t good enough for him.
He hated it when I told him that. The conversation would always start the same. He would bring up some petty argument they were having and I would try my best to be objective for him, but it was so hard. It was simply that all of the fights he ever had were always the girl’s fault, either demanding he spend more time with her or do more for her or that he was too much work for them. I would make this point and he would retort with a way that it was somehow his fault. HIS fault that she felt this way. That he needed to be better. I would say it wasn’t his fault, he already spent so much time with her. We disagreed every time. I was surprised he couldn’t tell that I was in love with him. He was oblivious when it came to me. But his friends weren’t.
Feix questioned me first but Minho was the first to break me. He got me intoxicated and asked me one too many questions and the beans came tumbling out in a drunken babble. In front of all of his friends and God herself, I wouldn’t shut up about how I missed his laugh, his smile, and his hugs. The boys just looked at each other awkwardly, taking turns trying to comfort me in their own ways. Minho tried to tell me Chan’s poor qualities, walking around naked all the time, he worked too much, he never bought anything for himself. But these were all qualities I already knew and loved about him. Seungmin was just calling him old and ‘why would you want someone so close to old age in the prime of your life’ and such things. I wasn’t much younger than Chan so in reality, he was also calling me old. He ran out of things to say after that, not wanting to put his foot in his mouth any more than he already had. Jeongin and Hyunjin offered to take me shopping the next day, which I took them up on. Hyunjin pat me on the back gently and grimaced. Changbin just tried to tell me that exercise was the cure for everything. That earned a glare from everyone, to which he just shrugged and looked away sheepishly. I thanked him for his suggestion. He meant it in earnest. Han took my mind off of it, offering his best controller to play video games with him all night long. And when I had successfully beaten Han enough for him to admit defeat, Felix followed me to bed and just cuddled me until the heavy weight on my chest had lightened.
Every time we fought about his girlfriends’ issues with him, it was always on the tip of my tongue. It was always ‘Just talk to her, try to work it out’ instead of ‘I wouldn’t treat you like that.’ It was a laborious effort, keeping all of the emotions inside. I would feel the build-up when he was in between girlfriends, he would get more touchy with me, no longer under a watchful eye or a guilty conscience. I could feel myself begin to tell him my feelings and then another girl would pop up and they would last too long that the moment was over. But I was always the one he ran to when he had problems. And they hated that.
The first girl that had a problem with how much time he spent with me didn’t last long after that. But after the third girl, he noticed that it was maybe not just a single issue. So I saw less and less of him when he was involved. Then she appeared a year later.
She was everything I was not. She was popular, beautiful, and just cool. She still didn’t deserve him though. I hated that I could tell she did care about him a little more than the others but not enough it seemed. She became obsessed with the idea that he would cheat on her with me. Eventually she convinced herself that he did. That was a particularly hard fight for him to get through. He came over afterwards and explained it to me, that he couldn’t spend more time with me if he wanted to keep her, so that was it. I haven’t seen him in a while.
That was a couple months ago. I’m in my own apartment now, reading my book far too late into the night again. The pounding at my door broke me of my trance and I scurried to open the door to see Chan, his curly hair a little wild and his eyes rimmed with red.
“She cheated on me.”
His voice was hoarse, like he hadn’t used it in a bit. I opened the door further to let him in but he just fell into my arms, his emotions hitting him harder. I hugged him closer, closing the door behind him. He fell to his knees in the hallway and brought me down with him. We stayed this way until his sobs turned to sniffles. My only form of comfort was rubbing his back up into his hair. When his breathing slowed enough for his strength to return to his legs, I nudged him up to bring him to my couch where I left him only long enough to make him something to drink. I decided tea was the way to go, alcohol no good for him in his current state. He simply stared blankly at my coffee table, his silence scarier than yelling. I nudged him with the mug and he took it, letting it warm his hands. I sat beside him gently, letting him talk if he wanted to. When he didn’t, I asked the only question I would dare about the subject.
“Do you want to talk about it?” His eyes still looked blank. His mind was elsewhere. I didn’t think he heard me and I was resigned to stay quiet when he shook his head. I could only nod faintly, finally looking him over fully for the first time in months. His eyes were tired aside from their current puffiness and his clothes smelled like him a little too much, as if he’d been wearing them a little too long.
“Do you want to sleep here? You’re more than welcome to.” I said quietly, hoping he would take me up on it. I could feel my body yearning to be closer to his natural warmth but I stayed where I was, not wanting to invade his space just yet. He nodded slowly, his mug remaining untouched by his beautiful lips. I had forgotten…
“Do you want to sleep on my bed? I can take the couch.” He leaned to place the cup on the table in front of us and he grabbed my hand. He stood, forcing me to move from my spot as he led me back through my own bedroom door. He only dropped my hand to land face first on my pillow. I couldn’t help the small chuckle that escaped my lips. The way he fell was just a little comical, like a cartoon almost. Luckily I had been in my pajamas for about an hour now so I just turned off the light and climbed in next to him, still not touching him. I was too keenly aware of every breath he took, every small movement he made. He turned his head to face me, still stomach down. His eyes bleary, he took a breath in as if he was about to speak. And it was taking all of his strength.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered the words I didn’t need, but craved anyway. I shook my head.
“Don’t worry about it. Just sleep right now, okay?” He nodded, closing his eyes.
“Don’t leave me.” Never. I tentatively pushed a strand of hair out of his eyes, testing his limits of the moment. He didn’t shoo me away. In fact, he hummed in contentment. His breathing slowed to even draws and gave me the opportunity to really look at him. I thought with these months apart my feelings would die. I should’ve known better. If they could survive college, they would unfortunately survive anything. Simply looking at him was enough to bring them back to the surface in full swing. Maybe this is my opportunity. This time I’ll tell him, I promised myself. Maybe when he’s better.
“I love you.” I whispered, just loud enough for me to hear.
I woke up before him the next morning. I felt more than saw the arms around my waist, the leg intertwined with mine. My heart broke slightly as I untangled him from me, moving off the bed as slowly as I could so as not to wake him. He didn’t, simply rolling over, remaining in his slumber. I watched him sleep, the crease between his brows a cause for concern. I tore myself away and exited back to my kitchen. I didn’t know how hungry he would be, so I figured I could always make more if he wanted. As the waffle iron was warming, I heard his shuffling coming down the hall. I kept my back turned to give him a second to breathe and collect himself if he wanted to. When he crept up beside me at the counter, I gave him a half hearted smile and weak ‘hi’, still unsure of his mood. I thought I still knew how to read him, but he had changed so much in these past months, I found it harder than I remembered.
“I didn’t know how hungry you would be so I was preparing for the worst.” He simply nodded, turning to the coffee pot. He started it up and returned to the couch he was on the night before. He turned on the TV to the morning news. I got the feeling it was just for background noise.
Once the waffles and coffee were done, I put on my best display of domesticity. I brought him his own plate, which he scarfed down. I talked about anything but the one thing I was dying to ask about. He merely nodded along until a particularly awkward silence hit us.
“I’m running out of subjects here, Chris.” No response. Another long pause.
“She broke up with me a while ago. I’ve spent the past couple months trying to get her back but it wasn’t working. She finally told me why. She slept with some guy back near the end of our relationship. Didn’t even remember his name.” He got quiet again. Then uttered the few words that consistently broke my heart for him. “I don’t understand what I did wrong.”
“Not everything is your fault though.”
“I had to have done something for her to do that. Why else would she have done it?”
“Some people don’t need reasons.” It was the only response I could think of. He shook his lowered head.
“It didn’t make sense. Nothing made sense. So I ran to the only place I thought of. I’m sorry I barged in on you like this, I didn’t know where else to go.” He finally looked me in my eyes, I could see his apology in the gleam between blinks.
“It’s okay, really. You’ve clearly been busy.”
“But you’ve done nothing to deserve me ignoring you for so long. And then to just show up here? Out of nowhere? I’m sorry, I should go.” He started to rise, eyes, aiming for the door. I panicked, not knowing when the next time I would see him would be. I lunged for his arm, grabbing it tightly. He jerked, but didn’t pull away, looking back at me. Those same apologies still in his eyes.
“You don’t have to go. I promise, it’s okay. I’m just happy to have you back. No matter the circumstances.” His shoulders fell in relief as he sat back down. He gave me his best smile, which was only a sliver of what I knew it could be. It still made my butterflies jump.
“I don’t deserve you.”
Boy, you have no idea…
That was a few weeks ago. He still wasn’t completely over the betrayal, but he was slowly getting better. He showed up to my apartment regularly, just like before. We would talk about everything but that night. And when he got particularly down on himself, I would drag him out with all of his friends to take his mind off of it. Being of the legal drinking age had its perks.
This particular night, he had been the one to initiate it. He texted the entire group asking which bar we wanted to start on our pub crawl for the evening. We knew what that meant. If it was a club night, he just wanted to forget the day. If it was a club crawl, he wanted to forget the week. But an actual pub crawl, something had to have happened. Minho was always ready with a suggestion. He knew all the best spots in town. And walking through the doors of our first stop of the night, everyone could tell Chan was ready for the night to begin.
“Let’s gooooo!” He shouted at the top of lungs, approaching the bar and smiling at the bartender, a short woman with enough cleavage to make a porn star jealous. I respect the hustle of it, but did he have to smile at her like that? He flashed one of his famous grins that reached his eyes, which she of course returned. It was hard not to.
“What can I get you, sweetie?” She wiped down the glass in her hand with the rag in the other, used to the shouting of men ready to forget their troubles. Chan leaned on his elbows on the bartop and cocked his head, ready to charm whoever was a willing victim.
“A round of shots for me and my friends, angel. And make them doubles if you please.” She smiled and nodded, grabbing the bottle from the shelves and nine bigger shot glasses. Chan started to chat with her as she poured, making my fingers go numb. The intense eye contact between them was enough to force my hands into fists. Felix noticed, because of course he did. I was surprised he couldn't hear my raging heartbeat. Thundering so loud in my ears I could barely hear what he was whispering to me. I felt his warmth bear me as he said
“Don’t take it too close to heart, you know he does this when he needs to release.” That didn’t stop the chill down my spine though. I wanted to deck the poor girl. She had no idea who I was or what I was going through. But if she laughed at one of his stupid jokes again…
Chan grabbed the tray of shots and winked at her, making her blush. God damn it.
“Relax. He’s not going home with her.” More whispers in my ear. I couldn’t place the voice until Seungmin gave me a shy smile, nodding in encouragement of his words. I nodded back, trying to breathe as we all followed Chan to a table near the shadows of the back of the place. Seungmin placed his hand on my back, following my lead and staying close.
Chan was doling out the shots in everyone’s direction, each conversation happening in tandem, the noise level doing the best job of drowning out my own thoughts. I decided to let this night be as much for me as its initiator. We all clinked our glasses together, tapped the table, and downed our shots in one go, Felix coughing a little as he got used to the burn.
“Another round!” Jisung shouted over the noise happening around us.
“I’ll go!” Chan started to walk towards the bar, but Jisung stopped him with his arm.
“Don’t worry buddy, I’ll get this one.” But Jisung’s eyes were on me. I could swear he nodded to me, a small sign of solidarity.
“Was I that obvious?” Hyunjin shook his head a little too quickly to be anything but honest. I grimaced in his direction, sure that everyone would see through any kind of mask I could put on. Well, everyone except the one it mattered for. He was currently balls-deep in a conversation with Changbin about something to do with…sports? Cars? I couldn’t tell nor did I care. Jisung came back quickly with twice the amount of shots as the first round. I shot him a greatful smile, our unspoken plan working. Another round of shots and we were off to the next bar, pulling the same routine until it was evident that Chan had had quite enough when he wouldn’t let go of my shoulder. He hung on my arm like he hadn’t known anything else in his life, clung to me like he had for the first ten years of our friendship. It was like nothing had changed.
“Baby, let’s go to another one down the street. They’ve got the best margaritas on the block.” Baby. It almost made it feel real when he called me that. Like, maybe one day, I could be… I snapped back to the moment at hand.
“I think we both have had quite enough there, mister.” His eyes were drooping, his gaze unfocused. His words were blurring together, all of the alochol he had consumed finally hitting his system. He would be turning into one of two people and I didn’t want to be there if the one that wasn’t the cuddly, kind Chris showed up. Not being quite as drunk as the others, I volunteered to take him home, thinking we had had enough for one night. None of the others were ready to go home as much as I was, so they let me take the invalid home by myself.
The weight of Chan’s body was too much for my single shoulder as we stumbled down the hallway to his apartment. His giggling had turned into a small laughter here and there, which eventually had made him go quiet now. We arrived at his front door, just as I remembered it.
“Chan, where are your keys?” He grappled with his pockets before he giggled again.
“Doormat.” was all that came from his mouth. This mother… His spare key was hidden under the mat.
Once we were inside, he went straight for the couch, sighing as he lay flat on his stomach. I couldn’t help my panting from carrying him up his stairs, my breath the only sound in the room. I leaned on the counter, just watching him as he closed his eyes.
“Chan?”
“Hm?”
“How are you feeling? Anything coming back up?”
“Not yet. Give me a few minutes though, you never know.” A slight chuckle from the man across the room followed by a groan of regret.
“That is true.” I laughed along with him, not feeling great myself. “Come on, let’s get you set up in your room before I go.” I started for the hallway when his head snapped up from his resting place, his eyes now sad and full of something I couldn’t place. I blame it on the alcohol.
“What?” His voice had gone high, cracking. “You’re leaving me? Don’t leave me, you can’t leave me. I’ll have no one left.” I couldn’t tell if he was being serious or not. The words he was saying didn’t make sense in response to what I meant, the fog in my head from the multitude of shots I had clouding every logical thought.
“Huh? I have to go home at some point. I can’t live here with you, Chan. As much fun as that would be.” There was some truth to that, I realized. I could picture it in my drunken mind’s eye and for a split second, it was everything I had ever wanted come alive. A reality that would always be there in another life where I had the guts to say something. And the even rareer chance that he felt the same.
“Ha. That would be fun. You would never have to leave then. You could take care of me all the time.” What I wouldn’t give… He was slow to rise from the couch, I suspected any sudden movement would make his insides turn out. And that was a mess neither one of us wanted to clean up.
“Come on, superstar. Let’s go.” He grabbed another hold around my waist now, his touch more intimate than the one around my shoulder when we first arrived. I tried not to read too much into it. It’s not like it meant anything to him. He was out of his mind, didn’t know what he was doing. We shuffled down the hall to his room, him falling on the bed like he fell on the couch. He burst into laughter into his pillow, my fit of giggles not far behind.
“Why did you fall like that? You looked like a domino.” I sat on his bed at his feet, getting comfortable.
“I don’t know.” His laughter got louder before it died down. What I couldn’t see was his face scrunching up as his own memeories of the day flew together, ready to attack him as soon as he would let them. I wasn’t expecting the sniffles to come. Well, maybe I should have considering how many shots he had.
“Chan?” I said again. A long pause, the air thick with a new sadness.
“I saw her again today.” I knew he was talking about her. I sighed but stayed quiet, afraid of what I would say if I spoke. My words tonight had slipped past every filter I ever had, a new sense of honesty I never had before. Another thing to blame the alcohol for.
“Why didn’t she love me? Why doesn’t anyone love me?” Not a question meant for my ears.
“I do.”
It was barely a whisper. A response to a question that didn’t require one. His retort was too quick for him to realize in what way I meant.
“You have to say that. You’re my best friend.”
“But that’s not how I meant it.”
He was still. I wasn’t sure if he was breathing but I didn’t care. Now was the time. This was the moment. When I had no filters or second guesses. Now would be the time I would spill it all out, everything. Risking our entire friendship in sixty seconds. I could only stare at the wall.
“I’m in love with you. Have been for a couple years now. I hated keeping it from you but I had no other choice. So all those old girfriends were right. Of course, all the other boys know too. Have for a long time. And now that I can face the fact that you don’t feel the same, I can tell you this and I can move on. I can release it. I can let you go. I love you. I am in love with you. And you do not feel the same. And that’s okay.” I took a deep breath, still without the courage to look in the space around his direction. “Because at least now you know and I can start to kill these feelings one by one until I can stomach you being around other girls. Beause it kills me inside when you talk about yourself like that. Every time you and I would argue about your girlfriends complaining to you and you think it’s your fault. It kills my very soul. You are the best person anyone could ever know. They way you make people feel about themselves, they way you make me feel… I’ve never found that in anyone else. Only you. The way you care about me, you make me feel loved.” My shoes were dirty from the path we walked. I would have to wash them when I got home.
“I love your laugh the most I think. It makes me feel whole. I love the little squeak you get when you laugh too hard. It sounds like a door hinge.” I smiled to myself, a sudden sadness as I thought I wouldn’t hear it again after this. Not for a long while at least. “I always get butterflies when you touch me. They started back in high school and they never left. I would always try to hug you when I could, which was good because I knew you liked touchy people. But the more I would do it, the more I craved it. I started to crave you. I never knew I liked attention until I tasted yours. And that was it. I was ruined.” Another sad smile as I stood up. He was probably asleep by now, listening to me drone on and on. I could make it home now on my own, the sudden pouring of the build up of the last however many years finally coming to a breaking point. I was never drinking again. I longed for some fresh air, this room suddenly too small. My hand had just brushed the door handle, ready to leave the dream I had held onto for so long in this room, in this moment for good. My life’s sustainment, the only reason I had bothered to come this far. To leave it all on the table for it to be brushed under a rug, never to be looked at or mentioned again.
 Until I heard it.
“And what if I love you too?”
It was so quiet, I thought I had imagined it.
“You don’t mean that like I want you to.” I opened the door further, certain that I didn’t want to hear his next words.
“But I do.” The grip on my heart, my veins, tightened. There was no way.
“But-” I turned slowly, still not sure if I was dreaming. But if I pinched myself, I wouldn’t get to see how this dream would play out. “What-” I couldn’t think of any words. I could only shake my head in disbelief. “You can’t be serious. You’re drunk, you don’t know what you’re saying.”
“Look at me. Please. And tell me if you think I dont know what I’m saying.”
I looked, really looked at him, for what felt like the first time. Into those eyes that held nothing but clarity and truth. And I felt like I was falling into them all over again.
“I don’t believe you. I can’t. I don’t believe this is actually happening to me right now.”
He sat up to lean against his headboard, head lolling to the side, no doubt feeling heavy.
“You know that box I keep by the front door for my keys? Have a look inside. If you still don’t believe me, you can call Changbin and tell him he has a free pass to hit me as hard as he can.” On shaky legs, I raced as quickly as I dared to the front door, eyeing the little wooden box, just big enough for keys and…
A small, round, white stone. With dark spots. To look like the moon.
I cradled it, afraid it would break or disappear if I blinked. I simply stared at it, unaware that Chan had crept up behind me on silent steps. I felt his eyes on me a second later.
“Why did you keep it?” My voice was as shaky as the rest of me, still coated in disbelief that the one thing I wanted more than anything could actually be mine.
“Because that was when it started. I’ve been yours ever since.”
I felt myself turning to face him, still locked on the stone in my hand. I heard him come closer, tilting my chin up to look him in his beautiful eyes. Open for me to see every wonderful thing he had ever thought of me, the warmth inviting me in to stay forever. His hands moved to cup both my cheeks, his body so close I could feel his heart racing alongside mine.
“I still feel like I’m dreaming.” I whispered against his lips, so close to mine. Too close. There was nowhere I could run to, nowhere I could hide from his fire, his want for me. For me.
“Me too.” He whispered back.
And then he kissed me.
He poured everything he was into me, his apologies, his laughter, his sincerity. I threw everything I had at him. My darkest thoughts, my hardest moments, my deepest fears. He still did not budge. He waited for more, wanting, needing everything. Every part of me was his for the taking. My soul was his for good.
It was the feeling of finding money in the pocket of a pair of jeans you hadn’t worn in a while. It was a warm summer night after a day spent with friends, comforting and familiar. It was love, wrapped in your favorite blanket with a warm drink in your hands. He was love, finding me at long last.
He was mine.
No one else’s.
Not back then.
Not ever again.
Only
Mine.

I see you | Chapter 2
Tumblr media
You were currently sitting in the sand playing with the tiny shells that lay in front of you next to the rock Ao’nung was sitting on as all his friends sat on the other ones, which meant no room for you so that's why you were sitting on the ground.
You felt like a child having to wait for their mother to stop talking so you just awkwardly listen and stay quiet. They didn’t acknowledge your presence anyways besides a boy named Rotxo who you sort of previously because you always help his grandma weave baskets from time to time, she was a kind old lady.
“So is she just gonna follow you around all day?...” One of the boys said catching your attention and making your ears twitch up. “Pretty much. My mom wanted her to hang out with us because she is le’awtu” Ao’nung replied as if you weren't sitting right next to him.
“She's kind of weird, she's too quiet. Hey! ‘evenge! Why don’t you make yourself useful and grab us some snacks, yeah?” The same boy from before said to you as if you were some servant. You don’t bother lifting your head from the shell you were looking at.
‘I don’t even want to be here…can’t I just go back to the Tsahìk’
A swift kick to your shoulders pulled you out of your thoughts and look up at Ao’nung. Your brows furrow in confusion and a little bit of hurt, you were sure he obviously didn't use his full strength but it still hurt enough to have lingering pain in the spot.
“You heard him, Go grab us some snacks will you?” Ao’nung said with his signature glare that seemed to be reserved only for you, unfortunately. You hated him, he was the weird one if anything, He may not think he is being obvious when his gaze lingered a little longer than what you consider normal, but it was obvious enough for you to tell. It was as if you were the prey he was getting ready to hunt.
“What do you guys want for snacks?” You ask standing up while brushing the sand that stayed stuck to your leg from having sat for so long. “Just grab some fruit! But make it fresh. We want the ones from the top branches, not the bottom.” Another boy says as they all whisper and laugh at each other.
You nod your head taking a mental note and turn to Ao’nung. “And what about you? You are allergic to that fruit right? Do you want me to grab some berries?” A wave of shock ran through Ao’nung from getting caught off guard, he was surprised you knew that not even his friends knew but some random girl that he only met once knew. “Yeah, whatever…Just go now”.
Ao’nung waved you off as they all go back to their conversation from earlier, but as you leave you heard them. “Sorry Ao’nung I didn’t know you were allergic to those, But I mainly only said that because it would probably take hours for her to get them those are too far into the forest”
A sigh leaves your mouth. Why couldn't people just have some common decency to be nice for once? You had tried to figure out this multiple times in your head yet you never get an answer. You couldn't get your head around the fact, why would you pick on someone you don’t know? Or judge them just from just one time of meeting one another.
As you pass by your Marui you grab a woven kelp basket and set it against your hip as you make your way to the small, yet big, forest. Although it was a small forest and obviously could no way ever be compared to the actual forest that lay in the jungle, there was always a possibility that people could get lost in it but it was mostly children who weren't yet used to the land.
Crouching down to a small bush, you began to scavenge through it, picking all the ripe berries. As much as your intrusive thoughts were telling you to make sure to grab all the half-ripe ones so that they stayed sour, you knew that wasn't the right thing and decide against it.
Once you grabbed the last of the berries and put them in the basket, you began to walk further to look for the fruit they were talking about. You strain your head up as you look through the tall trees for the specific fruit. Your eyes finally caught an orange round-shaped fruit. ‘Finally’
Walking closer to the tree you finally get the real scale of how far they were, Usually for this type of fruit you would have the skilled fruit pickers or even some of the warriors, depending on how high up they were, to come and grab them but unfortunately for you, you were neither and had to make do with the skills you had.
Part of you wanted to say forget about it and tell them no, but another part of you longed to see the look on their stupid faces as you walked back with the fruit laid in your hands. You set the basket down on the dirt ground before jumping up and grabbing the first branch, mustering all the strength you had in your body.
‘I need to start working out, great mother!-’ You thought as you get a reality check, you spent most of your days as a healer, which rarely required you to be strong but now you started to rethink that as you somewhat struggle to pull yourself up on another branch.
This had taken longer than it should of, but you finally reached the top and picked the fruit, now all you had to do was figure out how the hell you were going to get down without falling while caring the fruit in both hands.
Slowly you move and place your back against the rough surface of the tree and slide down, reaching one foot down to the branch below it, doing this a couple more times as you got to the bottom your foot slips with a loud gasp leaving your lips and you began falling, flailing your arms around to try and latch on something, you could feel cuts forming on your skin from the sharp branches and leaves you fell through.
Somehow you managed to land on a branch and catch yourself before you started to fall again, the fruit you had picked long forgotten as they fell on the ground. Your body was covered from the juice of the fruit due to you accidentally falling on some when you landed on the branch.
You let out a frustrated cry while breathing heavily due to the adrenaline rush, after giving yourself a few moments to regain your composure you move down the last branches and land back on the ground where you belonged, definitely not the trees.
Looking at the ground you grabbed a few of the fruit that survived the fall and placed them in the basket and made your way back to wash and prepare them with a limp in your walk, and man did your ankle hurt. You decided to just wait till later tonight to check it out, no big deal right?
You reached your Marui and prepared the fruit, washing the dirt off and cutting them. You also made sure to wipe off all the juice and clean up the cuts that were on your body.
Making your way back to the spot the boys were at you hold the plates out to them. “Here are your snacks. Enjoy.” You watched with disgust as they wolfed the fruit down like madmen.
Limping to your spot on the ground next to Ao’nung you hand him the berries and sit down with a thump leaning your back against the rock and letting out huffs, that small journey had taken a lot of energy out of you.
While your back was against the rock and to Ao’nung, while no one was looking he grabbed a couple of leaves and a twig that had gotten stuck in your hair and threw them behind somewhere.
He felt bad when he saw you limping, and if you looked closely he could see the cuts you had gotten on your arms and legs that had begun to bleed again, but he wouldn't dare to say anything. Why did he care anyways? You could've chosen to decline, so there for it was your fault, at least that's what he was trying to convince his inner thoughts.
After a while his friends had to leave as their families called, so now it was just you and Ao’nung sitting in silence not bothering to disturb it. But out of the Blue Ao’nung stands up and begins to walk away.
“Ao’nung? Where are you going?!” You called out to the boy while sitting up, but he didn’t answer. A sigh leaves your lips as you grumble under your breath as you get up and jog to catch up to him. “At least wait for me!”
Ao’nung looked over his shoulder at you before slowing down his pace by a sliver and continuing to walk. He decided to be nice for once and help you out. He wasn’t annoyed at you but more at the fact that he actually wanted the first time you guys hung out to be alone. But that plan all went down the drain.
Following the Metkayina boy a little longer, you start to look at your surroundings trying to figure out where the heck you were. Looking up ahead you see a familiar healing hut. “Ao’nung?” You tried calling his name out once again.
You watched as he continued walking, getting closer and closer to the hut until you guys reached the entrance. Were you supposed to follow him in? Maybe this was a personal matter and you were just following him like a weirdo.
It was as if Ao’nung had heard your thoughts, he held the door open waiting for you to walk inside after him, so you did so. “What are we doing in here Ao’nung? Are you hurt? Do you want me to mix up some medicine for you?!” You asked out as you began going to the table grabbing the ingredients.
“No. Not me.” Ao’nung said while standing behind you grabbing the stuff you had begun picking up and setting them back down. He then grabs your arm and drags you to one of the cots forcing you to sit down by pushing your shoulders.
“Now sit down and stay there for a second.” He tells you then turns around going back to the table you were just at and picks up the ingredients again, mixing them up into a paste-like substance. You obeyed and say there quietly observing his every move.
Once he was finished he walked back over to you with a bowl in his hand. “It’s for you. I saw you had gotten hurt” he tells you while putting some of the medicine on his fingers and dabbing it gently on the cuts that laid on your arms from the sticks that had scratched you when you fell.
“Thank you…but you know I could do this myself, I’m a healer you know-“ Ao’nung cuts you off. “I know. Now stay still…please.” He said to you, but in a softer tone. He sits down next to you and brings a hand to your chin, lifting it up to look at him so he could get a better view of your face.
A purple hue covers your cheeks as you avoid your eyes from looking into his aqua ones. Being this close to his face, and feeling his hands on your skin with his gentle touches made you flustered, and butterflies in your stomach. It made you want to stand up and run away but you knew you couldn’t as he still had a soft grip on your chin.
His fingers collect more of the medicine paste and he begins to dab it on your cheek, keeping in mind not to press too hard afraid of causing you any pain. “I’m sorry for earlier” Ao’nung disrupts the quietness, eyes still focused on the cut he was covering up.
“It's alright, no need to apologize” you whisper, eyes now trained on his hands as they work, watching their every move. You freeze up as you feel his thumb graze your lip. “I do though. I kicked you earlier rather harsher than I meant. I’m also apologizing for how rude my friends and I were to you”
“Oh yeah… I sorta forgot about that. It’s cool now, don't worry about it.” You tell him, quietly laughing it off. Ao’nung finally removed his hand from your face and sat back looking over you making sure he didn’t miss any wounds.
“(Y/N)?” You hear a voice from behind you both call out. Both your heads turn in the direction of the voice, and your eyes land on your mother. Eyes soften at her figure, this was the first time you had seen her leave your father's side.
“Hey, sa’nok…you alright?” You asked her as she made her way towards the both of you with small steps before stopping in front of the cot. “I’m fine my dear, are you okay? I had heard your voice and came out here, and then I saw this boy tending to your wounds…where did they come from?!” She says with a hint of worry in her words. Your mother reached her hand out to your face brushing your hair out from your face and behind your ears.
“I just feel down, I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going, don’t worry” you lie and reassure her, your mother already had enough on her plate right now dealing with your father, and you didn’t want to add to the list and cause her more stress. Ao’nung’s ears raise as he glances at you as if he were saying ‘what? what are you saying?’ But you just shake your head silently telling him to drop it.
“Be careful my yawntutsyìp, I must go back to sempul now…come visit later tonight please?” Your mother pleaded, she had slowly begun to realize that you were turning into a woman and that little girl who she thought of you as slowly vanishing.
“Of course, I will, I’ll also make sure to bring some fruit I had picked up earlier” She smiled and gave you a peck on the forehead telling you she liked the idea, and then went back to the room where your father lay.
“Do you think we could get out of here?” “Let’s go” Ao’nung and you both talk at the same time interrupting each other. You turn your head as Ao’nung does the same and your breath gets caught in your throat as you realize how close you guys were sitting. Noses nearly touching, one blow of the win could easily close the gap if you guys didn’t hold your stance.
Ao’nung started into your aqua eyes, he was having deja vu, like this had happened before…which it did a while ago. His eyes trailed down your face and landed on your lips, they were soft and plump, so tempting to him, he just wanted to lean forward and crash his against yours pulling you into his arms. Unknowing both of you, you guys began to lean forward, eyes focused on the other one's lips. Inch by inch until there was nearly enough space for a piece of paper to slide in between and before you guys could lock lips someone entered the hut.
“Ao’nung! (Y/N)! There you are, I was looking for you guys. What are you guys doing here? I made lunch!” Ronal walks in just in time for you and Ao’nung to be pulled apart and scoot some distance between you, both faces flushed with a purple hue. She knew something had happened, she was not dumb but she wasn’t going to bring it up either.
“I fell when we were running across the big rocks and got scraped up, so Ao’nung took me here to get the medicine…” You tell the Tsahìk, scratching your cheek in embarrassment. Ronal walks closer to you and inspects all the cuts making sure they had been properly taken care of and backs away with a nod. “Well you did a good job on patching up (Y/N)” she gives you a smile of approval.
“Actually! It was Ao’nung who had done it, not me this time” Ronal’s eyes widen in surprise as she looked over at her son who had his head down playing with the strings on the cot. “Ao’nung? You did this!?” , “don’t sound so surprised sa’nok, you are my mother after all” he lifts his head to show a cheeky grin.
The way his mother was surprised that he had done such a good job somewhat offended him but at the same time boosted his ego that it was good enough for her to have thought you had done it, and you were a good healer as well so he’ll take the compliment.
“My my well done ‘itan. Now both of you let’s go, Your sempul might have already eaten everything if we don’t hurry.” Ronal said, ushering the kids to stand up and follow her. You both do as she said walking out in the direction of the family’s Marui.
Ao’nung and you share a last glance at each other, starting from each other's lips that were once so close to the other. Unknown to you, your tanhì had started to glow when you stared at Ao’nung, and he noticed too. He only smirked giving you a wink before looking away to his mother who had been talking.
‘I think I like Ao’nung.’

Part two
Summary: just a story I thought of where a young girl of around 12 runs away from her abusive father and goes to the sons for help
Warnings: trigger warnings for this one, abuse, swearing, physical and mental abuse, lots of angst, hints of sexual abuse
Charlie was sat on the benches whilst the bikers were inside the clubhouse, a woman she now knew is called Gemma was sat with her, “we’re gonna take care of you honey, don’t worry” she said kindly whilst another woman handed Charlie a glass of juice, she shivered again, “you cold honey?” Charlie nodded shyly, “you got a coat or anything?” Gemma asked, Charlie shook her head no, Gemma quickly went inside and returned with a samcro blanket, she wrapped it around Charlie.
The guys walked back outside making Charlie straighten up, “what’s your name kid?” The president asked, “Charlie” she replied, “well Charlie, we’re taking you in, you can stay here tonight then you’ll stay with Jax” he said pointing at the long haired blonde man who smiled kindly. Charlie nodded, “thank you”, she says, then looks at the prospect, “can I have my backpack?” She asks, he looks to the president her rolls his eyes, the prospect hands he the backpack, Charlie takes it and hugs it close to her. “Come on honey I’ll get you set up for the night” Gemma says extending an arm, Charlie follows her inside, Gemma leads her into a dorm room, “I’ll change these sheets for you real quick” she says and grabs some sheets from the cabinet, “I can help” Charlie says walking over to help, Gemma smiles, they both change the sheets and Gemma smooths them over, “ok, Jax is on a run early tomorrow so he’s sleeping here tonight, he’s in the next room over so if you need him you go get him” Gemma says, Charlie nodded and Gemma left the room.
Gemma walks down the hall, “poor kid” she says, sitting next to Clay and leaning into him, “we got her, we’ll take care of her” he says and kisses her forehead.
Charlie listens to the conversation die down as everyone goes home, she shuts her eyes and tries her best to get some sleep.
The next morning she was woken by loud chattering, she got changed and was pulling on a sweater when there was a knock on the door, she startled and squeaked out a “come in”, it was Jax, “hey you sleep okay?” He asks, Charlie nods nervously, “come on I’ll introduce you to everyone”.
Charlie followed him out where everyone was sat smoking and drinking coffee, “that’s Clay our president, his old lady Gemma, who’s also my mom” he turns to more of the bikers, “this is Tig, Chibs, Juice, Happy, Bobby, Piney and Opie” the guys all nodded hellos, she smiled shyly at them. “You want anything to eat honey?” Gemma asked, Charlie didn’t realise how hungry she was, she hadn’t eaten for two days, Charlie nodded, “if that’s ok” she said shyly, Gemma smiled kindly, “of course sweetheart let me fix you something” she said a disappeared into the kitchen.
Charlie tucked into the sandwich Gemma made, “we’re gonna pay your pops a visit today” Clay said leaning against the bar, Charlie tensed and stopped eating, she nodded, “you go to school or anything?” Clay asked, Charlie shook her head, “no my dad pulled me out when my teacher noticed bruises , haven’t been for three years”, Jax clenches his jaw angrily and shakes his head, “ok let’s head out”.
The club pulled up to the butchers, they walked into the shop, “clear everyone out” Clay says to Tig who nods then starts telling the few people in the store to leave and turns the sign to closed. “Can I help you gentlemen?” “You Brian Hansley?” Clay asks, Brian nods, “in the flesh” he says with a grin that makes everyone cringe, “little birdy told us you beat on your daughter” Jax says, Brian’s face drops, “I uh, have no idea what you’re talking about” “oh I think you do, get a little drunk, come home, kick the shit out of your twelve year old little girl” Clay says, Brian stutters, Tig rounds the counter and grabs Brian by his hair and drags him round, “your kids with us now, you try file a report, we know about it and we show them all the little bruises you littered her body with you sick fuck” Jax says and punches him straight in jaw.
“Let’s go” Clay says, the guys shake their heads at Brian then walk out, stepping over his groaning form.

It really made my day and encouraged me to post again. :)
Anyways, here's the next chapter!
Title: Unexpected Cohabitation
Main Characters: Jonathan Kent and Damian Wayne (some of the others show up too, the list is too long)
Eventual relationship: Jonathan Kent/Damian Wayne (my fave)

[In case you missed it Chapter 1 ]
Part 1 - Chapter 2
“I’m home!” Jon called out, taking off his shoes and placing them on the shoe rack next to the entrance. “Welcome home honey!” Lois popped her head out into the hallway from the kitchen, one hand covering the speaker of her cell phone, “Where’s Conner?” “He’s with Bart.” Jon saw his mom nod and resume the call she was on. He walked into the room he shared with Conner, dumping his school bag on the floor next to his desk. Both boys had loft beds with desks underneath to give each a sense of personal space in such a cramped room. Jon changed out of his school uniform into a pair of sweats and an old Cheese Vikings t-shirt. Two warning knocks stopped his from sitting and Lois opened the door. “Want to help me with dinner?” Lois asked. Jon nodded, smiling as he followed Lois into the kitchen. While prepping dinner Lois watched her son from the corner of her eye, laughing to herself at how cute her son was. He hummed and moved his hips to a beat only he knew. A slight blush graced his face and he had a smile he could not hide. “Was today a good day?”” Lois asked, amused. “Yeah.” Jon said without elaborating. “That’s good. You can tell us all about it while we eat.” Jon nodded and thought about how he had seen Jay twice after lunch. He even got to speak with him and sit in front of him in the drawing class they shared. When he had first seen the elective on his schedule he was determined to change it since he wasn’t very interested in sketching. Now, though, he was planning on staying with it. He saw Jay again when he turned in his application to the journalism club, he had even waved at him!
“I’m home!” Called Clark from the entrance, “You’ll never guess who I ran into in the lobby.” “I bet it was an escaped convict.” Said Lois while dividing up the oven baked chicken breasts into four plates. “Nope, it was me!” Conner said, emerging from the hallway already wearing a pair of jersey shorts and a tank. “Close enough.” Laughed Lois, “Help set the table please.” Conner nodded, grabbing some paper towels and utensils, placing them in their rightful places on the table. Clark ruffled Jon’s hair as he passed by turning on the living room television. Their television was old and had a couple of missing pixels on right top corner, but the sound still worked. It’s not like it was in the middle of the screen so Jon’s parents didn’t see the point of replacing it. Jon placed mashed potatoes on each plate next to the roasted carrots his mom had already plated. He could hear some lady drone on about the stock market. “Hon, turn off the TV.” Lois said, placing each plate on the table mats Conner had set. “Seems like Lex Corp. and Wayne Enterprises are going head to head in some bidding war.” Clark said, turning off the television he draped his tie on the back of the couch. He walked to the fridge to grab the pitcher of lemonade that he placed in the center of the round dinning table. Conner was already sitting and sampling the carrots with his fingers. The rest of the family joined him. Jon sat between Lois and conner and Clark sat next to Lois. “You and I know that Bruce is going to place some exorbitant bid just to get under Luthor’s skin and then win it.” Lois said smiling at Clark. “True, it’s one of his charming qualities. Clark said, filling everyone’s cup with lemonade. “Charming, eh?” Lois smirked, “guess you would know.” She smirked teasingly drinking from her cup. Clark bit into a chunk of chicken, winking at his wife. “So, boys, how did the new school year treat you today?” Conner perked up and started regaling his first day of high school. He compared the size of the school to his middle school and how much taller everyone looked. He mentioned that Bart was in his math class. “Oh! I also met this one guy whose super smart.” Conner said excitedly, “Like seriously a genius and he’s in three of my classes. Bart wants to try and form a study group with him.” “That’s a great idea, hun, maybe your grades will be better this year.” Lois teased. “My grades weren’t that bad!” Conner spluttered. Lois patted Conner’s hand and turned to Jon. “You wanted to share something with sweetie?” “Yeah.“ Jon looked up at Lois, turned to look at his two other family members, swallowed his food and cleared his throat. “I’m joining the baseball tryouts next week. The couch remembers who I am.” “That’s great news!” Clark exclaimed, “You’re basically a shoo in.” “That’s what I was thinking too.” Jon nodded, a wide grin spreading on his face, but it quickly turned nervous, “I’m also joining the journalism club.” Lois looked pleasantly surprised while Clark looked confused. Conner’s eyes ping-ponged between all their faces while shoving mashed potatoes into his mouth. “Isn’t it going to be hard juggling both baseball and the school newspaper on top of your normal school studies?” Clark asked. “Dad!”Jon rolled his eyes. “Lot’s of people take more than one club. Plus I didn’t get to take any last year due to my leg…” “Did you ask Coach if it was acceptable?” “Yes, I asked Coach and Mr. Thompson and both said that it shouldn’t be a problem, but that I had to take both commitments seriously.” “A team relies that all members pull their weight but, if you think you think you can do it-” “I think it’s a great idea!” Lois cut in.”Sounds like you’ll have lots of fun this year.” Jon beamed at Lois and Clark relented with a fond sigh.

“Ava, don’t go near the water without us!” Reuben raises his voice so his daughter can hear him, but she’s more occupied running around with her new friend, Liam.
“How do you feel about having Liam as your future son-in-law?” You joke, recording a video of Liam, Ava, and Ted laughing while chasing each other.
“His mom raised him well. I can’t ask for anything better.” He follows your joke, smiling and sitting down with you. “I bet it was hard. It is hard for me and Jazz, but we have each other.”
“It wasn’t easy. I had my mom, fortunately. But yeah, it was a challenge.”
“Did you regret it?” He looks into Jake’s blue cooler, filled with drinks and some food.
“Never. He’s the love of my life.” You smile, showing him a picture of the three kids. “And those are yours.”
“Look at my babies. It’s funny because when I met my wife, I thought I would never love someone as much as I loved her.” He chuckles and zooms in on the photo on your phone. “And then Ava came. She wasn’t planned, you know.”
You nod, watching Liam play with the sand. “Liam wasn’t either. Well, you know that already.”
Mickey sits in front of you, a bottle of sunscreen in his hands. “Can you help me?”
“Am I the designated mom of the group?” You laugh, getting the bottle out of Mickey’s hands.
“Before you came, it was Sarge.”
“Sarge?” You put sunscreen on his back, making sure that everything’s covered.
“My wife. That’s her rank. She works at SDPD.”
“Woah, she must be an amazing woman.” You pat Mickey’s side. “Done, Mickey”
“Thank you!” He turns around, puts on his glasses, and smiles. “What a good day with the family.”
“Yeah, when you don’t have a black eye.” Rooster groans, taking a soda can out of the cooler and pressing it to his eye.
“Next time, don’t go around spreading false information.” Phoenix sits next to Mickey, handing him some fruit. “You want?”
“Thank you, sweet lady.” He takes one grape and eats it. “Where’s Jake?”
You turn your head toward the kids, now being followed by a blonde, shirtless cowboy who pretends to be a dinosaur. “Being a kid.”
“Next one in line is Bob.” Phoenix says, moving when Javy returns from the car, so he can sit down. “Found the glasses?”
“Yeah, they fell to the floor. Were you talking about Bob?”
“Bob wants to be a father?” You ask Phoenix.
“Bob is on the way to being a father. Her wife is pregnant. That’s why they aren’t here today. Bob went to tell his in-laws.”
“Another baby to play with.” Mickey says in a singsong voice.
Jake comes back, and Payback moves so he can sit next to you. You roll your eyes behind your sunglasses. “Those kids can run a marathon.”
“We were saying before that Liam is gonna be Payback’s future son-in-law.” You inform him.
Jake nods, smiling. “I’m gonna have the prettiest grandkids.”
They start talking about the future, about Bob’s baby, weddings, and stuff, reminiscing about things from a time when you weren’t around. You smile and nod, laughing at the funny stories of how Payback and Bob met their girls, and it makes you remember your own story—how you met Jake five years ago.
“You’re thinking about it, too, right?” Jake whispers, his hand moving to your back as a way of calling your attention.
“You were the biggest idiot ever.” You laugh out loud, making the rest drop their conversations and enjoy the small but sweet interaction between you and Jake.
“Oh my, it’s the story of how you two met?” Nat grins, memories of that night coming to her mind.
“We need to know. Please.” Mickey begs, pointing at him and Payback. “And Bob. But he’s not here.”
"Well, it all happened-” you start, but you see a man approaching the kids, the sun hitting you in the face and blocking your vision. “Who’s that?”
All of you turn to look at the children. Liam is hiding behind Ava; Ted is unbothered, playing with a seashell he just found. Jake, Reuben, and you get up quickly and move towards the man, who turns out to be your boss. Cyclone. What is he doing here?
"You've gotta be kidding me.” Jake hisses under his breath, moving quickly to get his son. “Hey, Cyclone.”
“You’re all here! I was just talking with little Liam, but he seems to have forgotten about me already.” He tries to tickle Liam, whose first reaction is to hide his face in his dad’s neck. “He’s a bit shy, isn’t he?”
“Not really. Maybe he doesn’t like you.” Jake suggests with a smirk. You smack him on the head. “Not you too.”
“Don’t be a dick!” you whisper yell, before turning to Cyclone. “He sometimes forgets people quickly, yeah.”
“Red, you look beautiful in that sundress.” Cyclone comments, and a part of you cringes. Yeah, you’re not a fan of the kind of attention you’re getting.
“Oh, thank you.” You look at your watch, “I think it’s time for Liam to get an afternoon snack; we should head with the rest.”
“It’s been nice to meet you outside the academy,” Jake says, turning around and grabbing your hand with his free one, the other helping secure Liam, who is placed on his hip. “You want some fruit, bubs?”
“Bananas!” Liam grabs his dad’s ear, an odd habit he has picked up in the last few days.
“How do we ask things?”
“Bananas, please.” Liam corrects himself, smiling at his dad.
“That’s my boy,” Jake praises him, kissing his cheek. “Let’s go eat some bananas, with mama and dada.”
“You know what? I think I’m gonna stay for a bit.” Cyclone says, walking away from you and sitting down next to Mickey, who glances your way and pulls down his glasses, wide eyes asking what he can’t say aloud.
“Did he just invite himself?” Reuben asks, carrying a kid in each arm.
“Yep. Just like that.” You mutter, cleaning the sand off Liam’s feet.
“I swear to God that this man becomes more insufferable each day.”
Tumblr media
“¿Qué cojones hace Cyclone aquí?” Mickey asks Phoenix, who just shrugs.  (What the fuck is Cyclone doing here?)
“Ni idea. Pero parece que nadie le quiere aquí. ¿Se ha invitado él solo?” She answers him, glancing at Cyclone, who is trying to play with Ted, who is still very unbothered by his presence. (I don't know. But seems that nobody wants him here. Has he invited himself?)
“¿Este huevón está intentando conquistar a Roja?” (This asshole is trying to win Red over?)
“Eso creo.” (I think so)
“Voy a enseñarle a no meterse con las mujeres de otros.” Mickey clears his throat. “Hey, Red. You were about to tell us how you and Jake met.” (I'm gonna show him to not mess with other people's women)
“Oh no, please. That’s my most embarrassing story” Jake hides his face in Liam’s hair, who has fallen asleep. He’s wearing his dad’s t-shirt as a blanket, covering his body so he doesn’t get sunburned.
“Now I need to know,” Payback laughs while applying more sunscreen to Ava’s face.
“So, we met 5 years ago…” You begin, making Jake groan. You continue with a devilish smirk. “We were all in Pensacola, I just arrived and went to a bar, it was supposed to be an aviator bar, and I wanted to meet the locals and see who was gonna be my workmates.”
“Let me say that me and Red met at Top Gun, but we never met after that until that day.” Phoenix continues, filling in some details important to your story.
“Yeah, that’s right. Well, so I entered this bar…”
“The Cubi?” Mickey asks.
“Yeah, that one! It’s like a museum.”
“And the first thing she saw was me, the hottest girl at the pub.” Phoenix chimes in.
“Well, that was until Red walked in.” Jake points out, and you feel the heat rise to your cheeks.
“The thing is that I walked into the bar and talked for a while with Nat; she left to look for someone, and that’s when Hangman, in the flesh, decided to try his luck.”
Jake lifts a finger to interrupt. “In my defense, when I saw you, I had a feeling that you were a special girl, and that I shouldn’t waste my opportunity, or someone else would take you away from me.”
“I would have been that one.” Rooster comments, making you jump. You thought he had fallen asleep.
“Buddy, you should shut up before your right eye ends up like the left one.” Jake warns, making you snort. These two need to stop fighting. “Anyway, the more I talked to her, the more I noticed this feeling. It was something that I had never felt before. I was amazed by her beauty, her smile, and just her general aura.”
“But there was a problem!” Javy speaks with a mysterious tone. They are enjoying this so much.
“What problem? Please, tell me you didn’t have a boyfriend.” Mickey gasps, covering his mouth.
“I didn’t tell him I was an aviator, and he was bragging about his job.”
“No shit.”
“Language” Payback, Jake and you scold at the same time.
“Aaaah huevón, sigue.”
“Translation: Please, go on.” Reuben explains, and you shake your head.
“I know he didn’t say that.”
“You know Spanish?”
“The basics, I guess.”
You look at Cyclone, who has been oddly silent since the story began. His eyes are hidden behind his sunglasses, and you can’t know for sure what he’s thinking. Not that you care, honestly.
“Anyway, where were we?” Javy tries to remember.
“Jake being horny.” You signal, earning a nudge from the blonde man. “Auch.”
“Did I ever insinuate that I wanted to have a one-night stand with you?” Jake pushes his glasses down his nose, looking at you. Yeah, he’s telling the truth. There’s no way those emerald eyes can hide anything from you.
“Well, not really...” Now that he brings that up, it’s true. He was flirting like the world was ending the next day, and you were enjoying every second of it. Jake was a bit more egotistical back then, and he sure thought that he was the best pilot to ever enter the Naval Academy, but there was something that attracted you. His confident smile, maybe? The way he leaned closer to you whenever you talked, so he didn’t miss a single word? How he made you feel like the only girl in the bar? But not once did he try to get in your pants. “Wait, we spent the next three months being friends with benefits!”
Jake shrugs, kissing Liam’s head. “It was the only way you allowed me to be with you. So I took the only chance I had.”
“You literally fell in love with her that night,” Reuben says, lifting an eyebrow as if it were so unbelievable.
“Damn right.”
You cover your face in embarrassment. “Now I feel like an idiot.”
“You were as in love with him as he was.” Nat rolls her eyes, eating another grape. “But denial ain’t just a river in Egypt, you know.”
“Shut up.” You groan.
“But how did you two end up dating?” Mickey insists, wanting to know the entire story.
You tell him how much tension grew during those three months between the two of you. The first weeks of your relationship were more physical. Making out at every possible moment and ending up at the back of his car or in your house or anywhere there was a solid surface. Sometimes all you needed was a wall. Jake has always been a strong man.
Somewhere between the first and second month, Jake started to stay with you in bed the morning after. Sometimes it led to a second or third round. Sometimes it led to shower sex. But the majority of the time, you two ended up having random conversations, your limbs tangled between his and your white sheets. You didn’t know where your arm ended and where his began. And you couldn’t care less. It was one of those mornings when you discovered that Jake smiles in his sleep. It was something only you and not anyone else knew, because, from what you’ve heard from Bradley, he was never one to stay the night.
But he always stayed with you.
Random pillow talks turned into him waking up before you to make you breakfast. He always tried to finish it before you woke up, but it was futile. The bed wasn’t as warm without him.
Breakfast led to romantic dinners. Movie dates. Endless cuddling sessions. Looking for each other at the bar. Becoming his wingman. Being glued together every single waking second you could spend together. His hand was always on the small of your back, or your thigh, whenever he was talking to someone, as if he wanted to mark you as his for any idiot who dared to look your way.
It was only a matter of time before that tension, those unsaid feelings that both of you had, became a problem.
“So you were basically together.” Mickey sums up all you just told him in one single sentence, and somehow that makes you laugh like a maniac.
“The only ones who didn’t know were them” Rooster deadpans, getting a red popsicle from the cooler.
“And you never tried to be with somebody else?” Reuben inquires, casting a quick glance at Cyclone.
“Why would I look around and search for another thing when I had everything I wanted right there?” You simply answer, making a corner of Jake’s lips lift.
“I just didn’t know if she felt the same as I did.”
“How did you find out?” Mickey questions again, and you notice him typing a lot on his phone. You're not sure if he’s taking notes for Bob or actually sending him texts with the most interesting parts of your story.
“We got into a fight.”
If you tighten the string too much, it will eventually snap. That’s what happened with you and Jake. Fear, jealousy, and love all mixed up together. It wasn’t pretty. You two ended up screaming at each other in a parking lot outside a bar. Jake implied that you were more interested in Rooster than in him back then. It was the final straw for you. You called it off and walked out of the bar, but Jake followed you.
“I literally said, ‘I hope to never see you again.’” You admit it, shifting Jake's t-shirt to reveal Liam's sleepy expression. He smiles when he sleeps, too.
"But you worked together," Mickey says, leaning in closer, as if engrossed in a fairytale.
“I was gonna ask for a relocation.”
You left that parking lot and called a taxi to bring you back home. Your tears started to fall at the same time the first raindrops fell on the window of the backseat. Once you got home, as much as you wanted to fall asleep and forget everything that had happened, someone you loved so much—someone you would literally leave everything behind if he asked you to—said that you were more interested in Rooster than in him.
You sigh, remembering that painful night. “And then someone knocked on the door.”
“I didn’t ring the bell in case you were in bed already.”
“Thank God I wasn’t asleep, then.” You whisper to yourself, but he has heard you. A part of you wants him to hear it. A part of you is wondering how you ended up here talking about the most important and agonizing relationship in your life. Those were good memories, though.
You want to be able to remember them whenever you want to.
You opened that door, your heart clenching at the sight that waited for you on the other side. He was standing there, drenched from head to toe, his nose and eyes red from crying.
Yeah, Jake Seresin was a man who cried. And he wasn’t ashamed to do it in front of you.
“What did he say?!”
“Mickey, you’re too invested in this story.” Javy mocks him, patting his head.
“I said ‘You’re bossy. You enjoy knowing that you’re better than me in every single aspect, and you're proud of yourself for it. You always have that stupid smirk on your face that makes me want to kick your ass. And yet, I can’t imagine my days without that smirk, without that smile you reserve just for me, or having to live one day without you. It took me a while to realize it, but I love you. And I want to have a serious relationship with you.”
You’re not surprised he remembers every word.
“What did you say?!”
“I smacked him for calling me bossy. And after that, I kissed him. He proposed a year after.”
“It was a beautiful wedding,” Rooster says, finishing his popsicle. “I cried at the first dance.”
“What song did you choose?”
"Make you feel my love," you both say at the same time, sad smiles on your faces, the memory hurting more than you want to admit.
Only five months after that first dance, your story ended.
“You know... most of us thought that you two eloped and got married in Vegas.” Reuben admits not expecting that part of the story at all.
“Javy was the best man. Nat, the bridesmaid. You could have asked.” Rooster says, and Mickey and Payback look at him, blinking in sync, as if that idea had never crossed their minds.
Nat’s eyes bore into your face, as if she were aware of the sudden mood change. “Red, can you come with me to the Hard Deck? I need to go to the bathroom.”
“Oh, yeah, sure.” You kiss Liam’s head. “Take care of him.”
“I think I’m gonna take a nap, too.” Jake informs you, and you move the parasol so none of them are under the sun.
“I’ll be back in a minute.”
“I think I’m gonna leave, too. It’s been nice to see you outside of work and know more about our new member. See you tomorrow!” And just like that, Cyclone walks in the other direction, leaving all of you with puzzled expressions.
Tumblr media
“Penny, my love, get us two shots of tequila,” Nat says once she enters the bar.
“Of course, sweetheart.” She waves at you before leaving to get your drinks
“You liar, you didn’t need the bathroom.”
“I wanted to get you out of there before you ended up kissing Jake.”
You gasp. “I wasn’t going to kiss Jake!”
“Honey, you two have been moving closer and closer when you were telling that story. Cyclone took notice as well. He won’t flirt with you anymore, I hope.”
“He is not flirting with me, dear lord; Nat don’t imagine things.” You thank Penny when she comes back with the drinks. You both cheer and drink them in one shot.
“You wish Jake was the one flirting with you.”
“Talking about the past brought a lot of memories and feelings to the surface.” You mumble under your breath.
“Honey, be honest. Do you still love him?”
Sighing, you pull your dog tags out of your sundress and show them to her. At first, she looks at them and doesn’t understand what you want to show her. Then she notices a weird sparkle. Dog tags don’t sparkle.
“Oh my fucking god.”
Yeah, dog tags don’t sparkle.
But engagement rings do.

Shantell’s POV
“You feeling any pain, sweetie?” my mom asked hugging me as Jimmy walked out to give Joe an opportunity for others to come in.
“I’m ok it’s been a little off and on but so far I’m not bleeding anymore,” I said trying to remain positive. “You gotta stay calm, and I know you gon' have to follow up with your doctor when we get home,” Jey said holding my hand.
“I just had to lay eyes on you and hold you. I will give ya’ll a moment and call your auntie. She is worried sick and blowing up my phone,” she said going out into the hall.  “You scared the hell outta me and everybody Shantell, I got a bone to pick wit you,” Joes says hugging me.
“So, I’ve been told,” I gasped, becoming stiff against him as a sharp pain came. “You ok baby, Jey said worriedly as I nodded. “The pain just seems to be getting stronger,” I groaned trying to focus and catch my breath.
“Hey, breathe, it’s gonna be ok,” Joe says sitting beside me as a few tears fell from my eyes. “I’m going to see if there is anything they can give you,” Jey says kissing my forehead before heading into the hall. I knew he needed to take a moment as I faintly heard him talking to Jimmy in the hall.
“Why is this happening, Jon?” I heard him ask before hitting the wall with what I could only guess was his fist. “Aye, come on man, Shan can hear you. Let’s go find the doctor, Jimmy,” said as the hall got quiet.
“What if I lose the baby?” I cried looking at Joe as he looked at me with such pity and sadness.  “No, we ain’t putting that into the atmosphere, not today. Lil Uce, and you gon’ be good,” Joe said rubbing my hand. “Shit!” I groaned sitting up from the sharp pain that hit me as Joe took me in his arms.
“Hey, talk to me,” he says as holding me close. “I can’t do this,” I gasped trying to remain calm as he held me tighter. “Yes, you can, and you will babydoll,” Joe said confidently as I tried to see his positive outlook, but I was losing hope.
“You haven’t called me that in years,” I smiled taking a breath as the pain subsided for the moment.  “Well, you grew up on me, so I had to upgrade you to babygirl,” he says kissing my hand.
“So, what do I become after the baby Is born?” I asked giving him a small smile.   “Oh, that’s easy baby mama,” he said as I laughed at his antics. “There is that beautiful smile, everything is going to be fine,” he reassured me as Jey came back in with the doctor.
“Shantell, I have been researching and consulting with other doctors. I want to try a medication called Progestogen; it’s known to help prevent miscarriages. You’re a good candidate and it has a high success rate,” Doctor Taylor said looking at his records. “So how does it work?” Jey asks sitting beside me.
“We will administer the shot and also will give her something to rest. We need to get her body to relax, as we wait. Since there hasn’t been anymore bleeding, I think we are turning the curve, but the next 24 hours are critical,” he said touching my leg.
Jey’s POV
Thank God finally some good news, they had a plan and the doctor seemed happy to share the news with us.   I felt a weight being lifted as they gave Shantell the medication, trying to remain positive. “Thank you for all you’ve done,” Shantell said wiping her tears before shaking his hand.
“Nah, young lady it wasn’t all me. Your husband has been your biggest advocate, and he made sure to think of you first in all his decisions. He really loves you both,” Doctor Taylor said as Shantell looked at me as I could see the unshed tears in her eyes.
“My husband huh,” she said shooting me a tired smile as I could see her fighting to keep her eyes open. “Doc I just knew I needed to take care of my wife, and I would do it again in a heartbeat” I said giving her a kiss without missing a beat as she closed her eyes holding my hand tight.
“I will leave you guys alone, you should be finally resting soon,” Doctor Taylor said leaving as Joe kissed Shantell’s forehead. “Get some rest, I’ll see you in the morning,” he whispered going out to tell the others what was going on.
-----
Trin’s POV
This is the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been as Sandra and Tanya have been staring a hole through each other.
“How is Shantell,” Papa Kish asks walking over to meet Joe. “They are trying a new medication, the next 24 hours are critical, but the doctor is optimistic about everything being fine,” Joe said giving him a hug.  “Thank God,” Solo whispers rubbing his face before laying his head back closing his eyes.
“Thank God is right,” Sandra whispered as Tanya’s eyes snapped back to her. “Oh, so you care now?” she questioned rolling her eyes as Sandra sighed. “Look, I said I was sorry, and I will make this right.  It’s my grandchild too,” Sandra said as Tanya jumped up out of her seat.
“Woman, you will be lucky if you even see my grandchild,” Tanya said walking off down the hall as Jimmy followed her. “Excuse me,” Sandra said going in the opposite direction.
Yea, it was going to be tough trying to bring these grandmas together. “I see you over there worrying Trin, everything will work out,” Papa Kish said patting my knee. “I hope so, because Shantell don’t need no more stress and them going at it isn’t going to help,” I said honestly as I heard Joe's deep intake of breath.
“We’ll come up with something,” he said as we settled into our designated spots for the next 24 hours.

The Next Morning
Jey’s POV
I tried to sleep but my eyes were too focused on Shantell and the fetal monitor. I was happy she was finally able to rest, and everything seemed to be going well. “Uce, you need to get some sleep,” Solo said coming in to sit with me.“I can’t till I know they good Uce,” I said yawning as I struggled to keep my eyes open.
“Bro, you watched her sleep all night, she will be up soon and you gon’ be burned out,” he said throwing me his blanket. “I’m good, bro,” I said rubbing my burning eyes. “No, you ain’t! Close yo eyes and get some sleep, I’ll keep watch,” he pleaded as I finally gave up and fell asleep.
------
“Yo, Joshua wake up,” a familiar voice said that I hadn’t heard in years but spent so many nights wishing I could hear it just one more time. I must be dreamin’ because this ain’t real. “Uncle Ecky,” I whispered looking at him sitting beside me smiling.
The world knew him as Umaga but to us Fatu kids he was Uncle Ecky. He was like our dad and uncle rolled into one. He was the reason Jon and I got into wrestling.
“I ain’t dead, am I?” I asked a little freaked as he smiled. “Nawl boy, I knew you needed me,” he said as I hugged him. “Unk, I missed you so much,” my voice overcome with emotion trying to hold it together hugging him tighter.
“Aye, I always been here watching over ya’ll. Uce, I got you,” he said as I felt a release inside me, almost peaceful.
“I wanted you to meet somebody,” he said as I pulled away looking at him a bit unsure.  "Are Shantell and the baby alright?” I asked looking over at Shantell sleeping in the dim light with Solo watching over her, I almost couldn’t see them. We seemed so far away from them both.
“Daddy, play wit me,” a little voice said as I turned and saw the most beautiful little boy I had ever seen.  He was running toward me holding a toy wrestling ring with the brightest smile. He looked to be about three years old, the perfect mixture of Shantell and me.
In shock, I picked him up as he placed his head on my shoulder. “I don’t understand, what’s goin’ on?” I asked looking at the little boy caressing his hair and face just entranced with him.
“You were worried about him, so I wanted to show you everything was gon’ be fine, they both gon' be fine,” he said looking at Shantell, draping his arm over my shoulder as I held my son and wept against him.
“Ya’ll gon’ have a good life like your auntie and me. It will be some bad times, but ya will always find your way back,” Uncle Ecky said glancing at me before turning his attention back to Shantell. It seemed to make my tears flow like a river as I held my son tighter.
“ Daddy loves you and yo mama so much, you so loved, Lil Uce,” I said kissing his cheek, trying to memorize any detail I could to take me through these next seven months until he’s here. "Love you, Daddy," his little voice said taking my heart in a chokehold.
“You may not remember a lot of this Josh, that happens with dreams sometimes, but you will have the calmness of knowing everything will be ok,” he said smiling at my son.
“Tell daddy yo name, Lil Uce,” he whispered talking to my son. “My..My name is Joshua Edward Fatu," he said with confidence, smiling at me as fresh tears fell. We had named him after me and Uncle Ecky, my heart was so full, and I couldn’t stop the tears if I wanted to.
“Daddy, no cry,” he said reaching up to wipe my tears with his tiny chubby hands. “Daddy’s ok, I’m just happy to see you,” I said playing with his hair. “Otay, I play now,” he said taking my face in his tiny hands, giving me a kiss before wiggling out of my lap and running off.
“You need to talk to your mom,” Uncle Ecky said as I rubbed my tired face. “I’m mad at her, and myself. She don’t even see nothin’ she did wrong”, I whispered looking at him, then at Shantell.
“Oh, I have a feeling she does now. I been working on her stubborn ass, and I paid her a visit last night,” he said smiling at me. “What did you do?” I asked looking at the mischievous look on his face. He always had that look when he did something off the wall.
“Josh you ain’t gotta worry about, just know when she comes to you listen. Tell everybody I love them, and know I’m always here” he whispered giving me one last hug before disappearing slowly before my eyes. “I love you, Unck,” I said missing him even more than I had before.
--------
Shantell’s POV
“Josh, wake up the new doctor’s here,” I whispered trying to get his attention my voice weak and tired. I saw him struggling to wake up almost like he was crying in his sleep. “Baby, Doctor Roberts is here,” I said a little louder as his eyes shot open. “I’m up,” he groaned readjusting to the now-present light in the room.
“What did I miss?" Jey asked, sitting up, rubbing his eyes. “Mr. Fatu I was telling your wife everything is looking good, but we want to keep her another day or two. She will be on bed rest for the next three weeks," Doctor Roberts said writing off on his chart.
“We have a bus, so the bed rest isn’t an issue, but he has a big match on Saturday, and I wanted to sit in the crowd,” I said as the doctor smiled. “Well, that should be ok, but no work, and definitely no stress,” the doctor said as we all nodded in understanding.
“Thank God, Uncle Ecky was right," Jey whispered kissing my hand.  “Uncle Ecky?” Solo asked looking at Jey funny as I watched the exchange between them with their eyes. “I’ll tell you later,” Jey said smiling.  “Well, three weeks of bed rest, I can do it doc,” I said confidently as Solo and Jey smiled at me.
"We gon make sure of it busy body,” Jey added as the doctor laughed.  When the doctor left my attention turned to Jey. “So why these folks think we married?” I asked as Solo laughed.
“They wouldn’t have given me any updates on you or let me see you unless I was your husband. Your mom wasn’t here so I did what I had to do baby,” Jey said giving me a kiss.
"Plus, you are already my wife in every way that matters so I didn’t lie," he said as I'm trying not to cry again. “It just seems like a lot happened and I just want to know,” I said closing my eyes not wanting to look into Jey’s weary sad eyes.
“Shan, I’ll tell you everything baby, but not right now ok. You don’t need to worry about it now,” Jey said reassuring me everything was ok. Hopefully, these three weeks will fly by and we can get back into the day-to-day without being in fear.

Three Days Later. Pensacola, FL
Jey’s House
Shantell’s POV
“So, you were going to let them give me the medication,” I asked again unsure if I heard him correctly. “Shantell, yes, I was, and I would do it again,” Jey said looking at me his eyes full of unshed tears as we sat in the kitchen talking. He had just got done making breakfast, and I kept pushing. I wanted to know what happened before I woke up in the hospital.
“Why would you do that?” I asked, looking down unable to look at him. “For you, I did it for you and for me,” he said making me look at him.  “Josh, don’t,” I cried trying to move away from him as he gently grabbed my hands preventing me from moving. “You know,” he started but paused looking like he was trying to find the right words to say.
“You would have put yourself in danger trying to save our baby and I would have lost you both. You would have done it for yourself and for me thinking the baby is our only shot at happiness," he said as I felt the truth of his words stabbing me like a knife.
"I need you to understand you both are my happiness, Shantell," he said pleading for my understanding. "I know," l whispered knowing he was right and made the right decision at that moment.
"I know from my Uncle Ecky how fast all this could disappear, one mistake and it’s all gone,” he said trying to stop his own tears. “So, I made a decision to save you, and I will stand by it till the day I die,” he said without guilt as I finally fell apart in his arms.
“None of this works without you Shan, I couldn’t lose you both, I need you to understand that,” he pleaded as we cried together. “You're not going to lose me, Josh,” I finally whispered, finding my voice as I caressed his face touching the new grey hairs in his beard.
I know him worrying about me is apart of it and it breaks my heart. “I can’t. Do you get it now?" he asked as I hugged him tighter, nodding feeling him releasing the pressure that was weighing him down.
“I get it baby, and I promise I ain’t going nowhere,” I whispered, reassuring him as I placed a kiss on his neck as he held me tighter rubbing my back. Someone ringing the doorbell disturbed our moment as I pulled away heading towards the stairs, wiping my face as Jey was reluctant to let me go.
“Shit, I forgot to tell you last week with everything that happened,” Jey said wiping his tears, trying to get himself together. “You forgot to tell me what?” I asked as he looked nervous. “Uh, WWE wanted to do a SummerSlam Vlog on me, he groaned. “Josh, please tell me that ain’t them at the door?” I asked as he drops his head in guilt. Yep, Stress activated in 5,4,3,2,1.
Jey’s POV
“Hell no! I ain’t doing it, matter of fact I’m bout to take my black ass home,” Shantell said standing at the bottom of the stairs in my one of my old t-shirts fuming, ending our brief moment of clarity. “Baby, they are just going to travel with us for the next two days and then it’s done,” I said trying to reason with her.
“The doctor just said no stress and you shoving a camera crew in my face. Damn, a whole ass vlog, now I know yo ass losing Saturday,” she said smartly as I laughed walking over to her.
“Shan, calm down it won’t be bad,” I assured her. I know some fans can be cruel, but this vlog is about my life and Shantell you are apart of that,” I said kissing her as she melted in my arms. “You trying to seduce me, and I’m trying to be mad, she whispered stealing a kiss herself.
“All this was Paul’s idea, not mine,” I said holding my hands up in mock surrender as she pulled away rolling her eyes at me. “Remind me to kill him nice and slow,” she said full of sarcasm as I laughed.
“Josh, I just don’t want to be on camera a lot, some things should be just for us,” she says voicing her concerns. “I got you baby; it’s gon’ be ok,” I reassured her as she went upstairs to get dressed.
Shan’s POV
I ain’t been out the hospital four days and already WWE business is at our door. I could hear Stu downstairs asking Jey some questions and in spite of myself I smiled. Least it was someone I knew, that made me feel a little more comfortable.
Heading back downstairs I tried to sneak into the kitchen to get my food but I saw Jey cut his eyes towards me smiling. “Come here baby,” he said as I frowned at him walking into the living room. “This my baby right here,” he said as I smiled trying to not knock him upside the head.
“Tell the people what's up," he says grinning at me. “Hey everybody,” I said waving and smiling at the camera. “Yeeet, ain’t she beautiful?” Jey said looking at me smiling as I laughed. “So ya’ll met five years ago right,” Stu questioned as I nodded with a slight smile as Jey led me around the couch to sit beside him.
“Yea man, she came in doing her college thang. Stayed for some months, then she went home to finish school. Ya’ boy was miserable without her them two years on the road," he said as I smiled at him.
“We would always hang out when you would come home,” I  said now looking at him intently.  “Yea, but in our friend circle. Then when she got hired after graduating, ya boy was nervous as hell,” Jey said raising his eyebrows at the camera as I laughed at his antics.
“So how long have ya’ll been together?” Stu asked. “We only started dating bout seven months ago," I said trying to calm my nerves. “I had to have her man. I couldn't take the friend zone no more, ya feel me. I had to lock her down, they were trying to get at my woman,” Jey says smiling, stumbling a little over his words.
“Oh lord, you would bring that up” I whispered smiling shaking my head, this boy just tellin’ all our business. I know this is apart of his job but I ain’t ready for the fangirl backlash. Two more days of this and it can’t come fast enough. “She stuck wit my ass now, this wifey,” he said gently kissing me.
“You know my mama is gonna see this,” I said grinning against his lips as he smiled brighter kissing me again before turning back to talk to the camera.
“Mama knows the deal and aye, ya’ll lookin’ at the reason Smackdown been fire these last three years. My baby has been over production, gave ya’ll the thunder dome, them fire camera angles, and made all of us look good,” Jey said as I blushed even harder.
“Well, I had help, my crew is awesome and amazing. What’s up crew, I miss ya’ll,” I said giving my crew a lil shout out. “I know you hate being on camera Shantell, but can you give a prediction for Saturday? Stu asked.
“Yea, the Real Chief is gon’ show up, show out, and after that, he’s taking me to McDonald's for some fresh hot fries, no salt extra ketchup,” I said confidently as Jey and Stu laughed as I shrugged my shoulders not caring how it sounded. That's them pregnancy cravings Stu," Jey said as they both began laughing, I pouted a second before joining in laughing as well.
“A'ight I done tortured you enough with this, I know you hate cameras in yo face gon’ eat, baby,” he said giving me another kiss. “Bye ya’ll,” I waved, leaving them to their shoot. Lord, the things I do for this man, just let us make it to Saturday.

SummerSlam
Main Event
Jey’s POV
I didn’t like the news that was shared before we came out here but hey that’s how it happens sometimes. I can hear and see the backlash now; I tried to shake it and regain my focus to put on the best match possible.
“Yo, Fatu get yo head in the game!” Shantell shouted as I looked at her in the front row looking worried. I nodded finally flying off the top rope and nailing the Uso Splash, covering Joe.
I knew what was to happen next as I’m pulled out of the ring and Jimmy slowly reveals himself. I could hear the crowd, and I could barely make out what Shantell was screaming as he super-kicked me. The rest is a blur as chaos reigned. All I knew was Shantell was gonna lose her shit.
Shantell’s POV
“I know you fuckin' lyin’!" I screamed as the crowd is chanting “fuck you Jimmy” right before he super kicked Jey. “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t see your son over there,” I said to a fan as he smiled at me. “No problem he has heard worse, and I totally agree with you,” he said smiling.
Jimmy walked right past me not even looking, quite frankly he looked disgusted. I watched almost in slow motion as Joe pinned Jey and became the Universal Champion once again and remained the Tribal Chief. I saw red as the crowd booed, Joe looked at me with remorse as Jey was overcome with emotion in the ring literally laying on his stomach crying.
His dream shattered as he finally looked at me and gave me the signal to go backstage. I grabbed my purse heading backstage. Nobody better talk to me either or I’m goin' off.  All that fucking hard work I put into making video packages, sleepless nights of research just for them to do this.
Joe is getting ready to go on vacation for two months, why couldn’t Jey at least stay champion until he came back.  All his hard work just to be a transitional champion, this shit got Vince written all over it.
As I kept looking back towards the ring at Jey, one of the security guards rushed me through the crowd. I stayed calm until we reached Gorilla. “Why were you rushing me outta there,” I said going over to Paul. “We didn’t know how the crowd was going to react, and we needed to get you out, he said looking at me begging me with his eyes to not say anything.
Joe hugged me as I pulled away looking him over. “Are you ok? I saw how Jey landed on your side,” I said as he nodded. “Yea, it ain’t that bad, I’ll be ok,” he groaned as I looked over at Paul. “Who thought of that bullshit,” I asked looking to his left and seeing Vince, damn I was hoping I was wrong.
“Hey Shantell, you are glowing, and you gave us a hell of a show out there. We need you to be on camera more, “he said smirking at me as Mike took Joe down to his office, to check him out. "Stay calm Shantell," Joe shouts walking into his office. I changed some things around Shantell, it looked great Vince said as I frowned at him.
“Oh, so it was you. You decided to come play with us common folks and fuck up storylines people have been working on for the last three years,” I accused as he smirked at me. “Shantell calm down,” Solo said steering me away from Vince and Paul.
“No, it needs to be said, the rules of Tribal Combat were no family could interfere until after the match was over. Tonight, after stating this on your website you had two family members interfere in the match," I said getting a little irritated. Paul held up a finger trying to interrupt me as I cut him off.
"Then Joe is out for the next two months, so your champion ain't gon' even be on TV. It's the dumbshit for me, won't even give Jey, who has been the workhorse of this company for the last three years the opportunity to show you what he could do with the title," I said with a tight smile agitated that Paul didn't fight for Jey.
Paul had turned red and Vince for once seemed to be in deep thought about what I just said. "He is the most over person you have right now besides L.A. and you fuckin that up also," I added for good measure.
"I know you worked hard Shantell, and we appreciate it," Paul said trying to ease the tension.
"I busted my ass on those video packages, putting them together, losing sleep just for you to turn around after all that hype and fuck it up,” I stated calmly waiting for an answer. “Isn’t that your job?” Vince questioned, looking at Paul who winced as he saw my face.
“No, actually it’s not, I helped your company because your video personnel quit and I was trying to be a team player. What did you do in return? You spat on their culture, and you made it a joke. You should have just made it a regular no-disqualification match and been done if this was the shit you was gon' pull,” I said honestly wanting to wipe the smug look off Vince’s face.
“Sis, let’s go, it ain’t worth getting upset,” Jimmy said walking over to me and I could tell how disappointed he was in the outcome as well. “It damn sure ain’t because I’m not helping out again, my health and child are my number one priority from now on. I ain’t stressing myself over none of this shit,’” I said staring a hole through Vince.
“I like her spunk; she’s going to go far here, Paul. I totally see why you brought her on,” Vince said impressed, I guess by my brazen approach to giving him a piece of my mind.  “Well, since we both are being honest Mr. McMahon.  I also really dislike the fact that you’re so out of touch with the WWE product, the fans, and reality as a whole. Get it together, and have yourself a blessed evening,” I said walking off with Paul following close behind me and Jimmy.
“Shantell, calm down and talk to me,” Paul begs as Jimmy stepped in sync with me. “Don’t follow me, Levesque, you promised he wouldn’t interfere in their storyline!” I yelled, angry over the fact that he didn't protect Jey, Jimmy, Solo, or Joe in the situation.
He gently grabbed my arm stepping in front of me.  “The old man just wanted to dick around tonight;” he said as I felt Jimmy tense beside me. I shook my head unable to believe what he just said.
“He retired, sold this company because he didn’t want you to run it, and you still entertain the shit he does,” I said sighing at his lack of backbone when it came to Vince. “Look, we can fix it,” he said as I laughed in his face.
“We! Aint no we! You let him did this, you fix it. I’m off for the next three weeks,” I stated walking off. “We are going to fix it! I promise I’m going to call you in a few days!” Paul yelled as I ignored him and went to the bus.
Jey’s POV
I know we did good work and it’s all worth it, but damn only a couple weeks as champion. I can honestly say in the meeting Joe went to war for me to remain champion tonight and I can’t thank him enough. I will always remember that.
“Jey, Shantell is already on the bus, and she’s heated,” Solo says coming up to me as I walked over to Vince. “Thank you for this opportunity, sir,” I said shaking his hand. “You’re welcome, you're very humble like your dad. I like it,” he says smugly as I fight the urge to cuss his ass out.
"All the hard work everyone has put in, Joe, and I had done research with Shantell and had really put together something good for it all to get shot down by Vince. I feel my pressure rising just being near him.
“I need to check on Shantell, I just wanted to say thanks for everything,” I said walking away. “Yea, you got yourself a firecracker, she definitely speaks her mind,” Vince said laughing as I walked away with Solo.
“How bad was she?” I asked Solo as he laughed. “Oh, she gave his ass the business, Paul too. She was nice nasty wit it,” he said snickering as a grin tugged at my face. That’s one of the things I love about Shantell, she’s passionate about the people she loves and her craft. If you fuck with any of those you get the business, and it don’t matter who you are.

Jey’s Bus
Shantell’s POV
“Did you mean to call me? I mean Jey should have his phone on him, is something wrong?” I asked Sandra hearing her taking deep breaths in my ear. “No, I meant to call you Shantell. I wanted to invite you both to the house for Sunday dinner tomorrow night, if possible,” she said as I pulled the phone from my ear setting it down on the bed like it was going to explode from her pleasant tone and the question she asked me.
As I placed the phone on speaker, the guys got on the bus. I gave them a signal to be quiet as they stopped in their tracks. “Who is it?” Jey whispered as I shook my head at him putting a finger to my lips. “I’m going to call Trin in a bit I heard she’s been under the weather,” she said as Jimmy looked shocked that his mother was on the phone.
“Ok, but the last time we were in the same room you were saying really nasty things, what changed,” I asked as Jey sat beside me. “I want to discuss it in person and talk to all of ya’ll. I know I stepped on a lot of toes and it’s not right. Can you please just come to dinner?” Sandra pleaded as I looked at Jey. He needed his mother in his life regardless of what I felt, and maybe we could move past it all eventually. I could tell he missed her and they needed to talk
“Ok, umm could we do it.  My mom is flying in tomorrow morning, and we should be home by noon tomorrow,” I said as Joe smiled at me happy, we were talking cordially. Jey kissed my hand holding it in a tight grip. I knew he needed this and I knew I made the right decision.
“Well, I’ll let you go. I gotta call Joe and his mom to invite them,” she said as Joe interrupted her. “I’m here Auntie just call Ma and I’ll see you tomorrow,” Joe said smiling. “Oh, good,” she whispered relieved as I felt Jey rubbing my thigh. “Joshua, I know you're there, and your brothers, I love ya’ll and I will see you all tomorrow,” she said hanging up before they could respond. I leaned over and kissed his cheek as he seemed anxious. "It will work out baby," I whispered laying my head on his shoulder.
“Well, I’ll be damned," Jimmy said smiling as Solo laughed in relief. After talking for a bit Joe, and Solo went back to Joe's bus so we could start the journey home.
I pray everything goes well tomorrow night so we can start to heal and move forward. Our child is going to need all of its grandparents and I want us all to hash things out. Maybe this is finally the moment, but only time will tell.

Whumptember 15th: Broken Bone
Oh my! I'm so sorry everyone. I got so busy yesterday that I forgot to upload my story! So here's yesterday's story and as an apology and because we are halfway through Whumptember, today's post may get a little spicy. I don't know if it will be full smut, but I'm going to at least try to add some steam. Sorry again for the delay in this one and I hope you like it! --Anna

You rushed through the doors to the emergency room, walking up to the main intake desk.
“Can I help you?” The lady at the desk asked without looking up from her computer.
“Yes. My son was brought in about thirty minutes ago.”
“What’s the name?” She asked, still seemingly uninterested.
“Theodore Y/L/N”
Upon hearing your answer, she finally looked up. You could see the wheels turning in her head.
“Y/L/N? Is your son around 10 years old?” When you nodded your head yes as her question, she continued. “You know that the Winter Soldier brought him in right?”
You felt your anger spike. “He’s not the Winter Soldier. His name is Sergeant James Barnes. Please address him as such. Now can I please see my son?”
At your response, her face turned red in embarrassment. “Of course, my apologies. If you’ll follow me please.”
She led you down the hallway to an exam room. Knocking on the door, she then opened it and motioned for you to step inside. Inside was your son, Bucky, and someone who you imagined to be the physician on call. As soon as Bucky saw you, he breathed a sigh of relief, however, you could tell that he was still stressed and nervous.
“Mom! The doctor said I need a cast and I get to pick the color for it!” Your son seemed cheerful and excited and in less pain than you expected, which you were grateful for.
“That’s great Teddy! Be thinking of what color you want while I talk to the doctor for a bit.” You said as you placed a kiss on his forehead and went to sit next to Bucky, taking his metal hand in yours.
The doctor spent the next few minutes explaining that your son had broken his Ulna but luckily the fracture was relatively clean and wouldn’t need surgery to correct anything. A simple plaster cast for the next 6 weeks. After that, they would x-ray it again to see how it was healing but that it shouldn’t need recasted. He said that Bucky had done a good job immobilizing and icing the break before they got to the hospital. It probably saved your son some pain and also kept the injury from getting worse. Bucky forced out a smile but it didn’t reach his eyes. The doctor said that someone would be in shortly to apply his cast and he exited the room.
Your son was busy playing games on his tablet while he waited to get his cast. You turned to Bucky and stared at him long and hard. “What’s going on Buck? I can practically see your wheels turning.” You were still holding his hand and gently caressed the back of his hand. You knew he could feel it but he didn’t acknowledge it.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N. We were busy running around the playground and being wild. I should have been more careful. I saw him lose his balance but I couldn’t get to him fast enough.” He shook his head and seemed really upset by the whole scenario.
“Bucky…” You tried to get him to look at you and he just kept looking down at his lap, chewing on side of his cheek.
“James.” You said more firmly, using a bit of your “mom” voice. Even your son looked up for a moment, until he realized that you weren’t talking to him. He finally looked up at you, his eyes filled with apprehension and guilt.
“None of this is your fault. He’s a kid, and a rambunctious one at that. This is not his first time in the ER for something like this, and I highly doubt it will be the last.” You smiled at him kindly. “Do you remember when he chipped two teeth playing hockey last winter? Or when he sprained his ankle trying to jump from one couch to the other. Kids get hurt. It wasn’t anyone’s fault. Especially not yours. If anything, you being there kept him safer. He is less hurt and in less pain because you were there and knew what to do.”
He still hadn’t responded, but you nudged him a little with your shoulder. “Hey, I mean it. Thank you. I would have been so much more scared if you hadn't been there with him. I love you.” He finally smiled at you and you could see that he was starting to relax.
You held his hand and rested your head on his shoulder as you waited for the orthopedic tech to come in and cast your son’s arm. When they finally came in, they asked your son what color cast he was going to pick.
“Black.” He said very assuredly. The tech nodded their head and went about wrapping his arm in gauze and padding.
“Really? I thought you would have gone for blue or green?” You questioned him, knowing that those were his favorites.
He shook his head. “No. I want black.”
“Well, okay then.” You let him have his pick. It was his arm anyway.
“Hey mom, before we go home can we go to the craft store?”
“What for, bud?”
“I want a gold paint marker.”
“Why?” You asked him, confused.
“I want to put lines on my cast. That way Bucky and I can match.” He said with the biggest smile on his face.
“W-what?” Bucky sputtered out his question, taken aback by your son.
“Well, my cast is on my left arm and I thought it would be cool to match arms. I mean, if you’re okay with that.” He gave Bucky a small smile, hoping that he hadn’t crossed some line.
“Y-yeah, bud. I’m okay with that. I mean…if your mom says it’s okay.” Bucky looked at you, his eyes slightly misty as he felt your son's love for him. You smiled bigger than you had in a long time.
“I think that sounds like a great plan.”

For Sport (Matthew Sturniolo & Chris Sturniolo) PT 11
A.n - hey yall so this is gonna be a very very very slow burn I already have some chapters written so I will probs rapid fire. It will be toxic, there will be angst , smut , everything you can possibly think of. It happens.
Very short one y'all I got homework
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
y/n’s pov-
“I cant believe you two left me in biology alone!” Chris yelled dramatically as he climbed into the backseat “sorry Chris, I didn't feel good and asked Matt to bring me home” I said turning around to face him “I guess you can make it up to me sweetheart” he said winking at me, Nick rolled his eyes at Chris before speaking “Are you feeling better?” I nod at nick, “Yeah wanna read the heartfelt texts I got from Haylee today?” Nick was my go to when it came to stuff like this because he was blunt and straight up with me. I opened my phone, scrolling all the way up and handing it back to him and Chris.
“She is such a cunt y/n, stop making excuses and cut her ass off. She's mad she has close to no friends while you have us all the time” I looked back at Nick and I knew he was right it was just hard to pull through with “I know, maybe you can help me write up something to say to her'' Nick didn't even answer just immediately started typing. “Are we going home?” Chris asked “Yes, she wants to meet mom” Matt said answering Chris “YES! Finally, the two most important women in my life are meeting” Chris said, throwing his hands over his heart. I giggled ignoring him as Matt looked over at me smiling as I returned the same smile.
We pulled up in front of a two story house, it looked homey and it reminded me of my dads house. “Im almost done, Ill be inside, leave me the keys” Nick was going in on this text, Matt turned around dropping the keys into Nicks lap as Nick continued and us three got out of the car “Come on y/n'' Chris grabbed my wrist running up towards the house. “MOM! Come out we have a surprise for you” He yelled as soon as we made it through the doors Matt followed behind.  A shorter lady came out around one of the corners “Oh! You must be y/n!” She said as a smile spread across her face and she opened her arms coming towards me, “Yes, it is so nice to meet you Mary-Lou!” I said, wrapping my arms back around her “The boys talk about you non-stop, are you staying for dinner?” I didn't think she'd ask but it seemed better than going home and eating alone. “If you will have me, I would love to” We separated and she continued “Oh of course! Where is your brother? Did you leave him at school again?” She asked looking around for Nick “I’m right here, here you go y/n proof read it before sending it” He handed me my phone back and hugged his mom “Well y/n make yourself right at home. I am going to get started on dinner. Jimmy should be home soon!” I smiled, thanking her sitting down on the couch before reading the message Nick had typed for me.
I've been thinking a lot lately, and I need to be straight with you. Things between us just aren't working out like they used to. It's been tough, but I've realized that our friendship isn't making either of us happy anymore.I've been feeling kind of down after we hang out, and I've noticed some stuff that's been bugging me. I don't want to feel this way, and I don't want you to feel bad either. So, I think it's time for us to take a step back and go our separate ways for a bit.I want you to know this isn't easy for me to say, but I gotta put my own mental health first. I hope you can understand where I'm coming from. I still care about you and wish you all the best, but I think it's best for both of us if we take a break from our friendship.
I could tell this is not how Nick wanted to go about it but he knew I would not want to be rude to her. I struggled for a minute before Chris reached over my shoulder behind the couch and pressed send. I threw my phone over to the other side of the couch “CHRISTOPHER” I yelled before getting up and chasing him around the couch till I finally caught him pushing him on the couch and getting on top of him hitting him “STOP PLEASE” He yelled. I got off as Matt ascended out of the bathroom, “lets watch some TV.” I nodded as Matt and Chris sat around me. We ended up watching some stupid reality tv show.
“Dinner!” Mary-Lou yelled from the kitchen, both the boys got up booking it to the kitchen as I walked in behind them “I forgot what it was like having someone POLITE in this house” She said referring to the boys already stuffing their face with the pasta around the table “Mom is it alright if y/n spends the night” She nodded her head back and forth “Of course she can, I like her much more than the Maddy girl you brought over here” I basically broke my neck looking at Matt as he stared down at his plate wide eyed “Oooooh shit mom, you don't even know what you just started” Chris said laughing “Why what did I do” She asked looking at me and the boys “Well Maddy is very rude to y/n because she thinks y/n likes Matt and at the party last week y/n bitched Maddy out it was GREAT!” Nick said, explaining the story I looked down in embarrassment as I didn't want her to think I was some mean girl “Good, she was very disrespectful. She tried to sit on Matthew right at the dinner table, strange girl” Matt now had his hands covering his face “How long ago was this?” I asked her with a cute smile “Oh Sunday night.” I felt gross, right at that moment I could've gotten sick, I literally just finished him off and now his mom is telling me how the girl I hate was on his lap. I don't know why I keep expecting anything different. Matt looked over at me across the table as I played with the food on my plate as my phone lit up with about ten texts from Haylee. This couldn't be the worst time.

Katsuki was pacing back and forth in his living room after he read the last text you sent.
What kind of news do you mean? Good news? Bad news? Fuck, were you planning to tell him you’re staying there permanently? His hands have been clammy ever since and he thought to ask you but he decided against it in case you were busy finalizing anything before leaving.
“Katsuki, settle down. (Y/n)’s gonna get here when they get here, Honey.” his mom’s voice called out from where she was sitting on the couch. He gave a small huff before plopping down right next to her. Though she seemed calm on the outside, Katsuki could see the slight bouncing of her leg as she was reading the newspaper.
Mitsuki Bakugou wasn’t stupid, she could tell something happened between the two of you. Her son has been calmer in the past two years than he ever has in his life. She’s noticed how he always casts a glance at his phone, a sparkle erupting from his eyes when he reads a message from you. She wanted to ask about it but chose not to because watching her son fumble while typing was kind of endearing.
Though she didn’t talk to Katsuki about it, she did gossip with Masaru when the two were in their shared bed for the night.
“Our Katsuki has grown up a lot, hasn’t he?” she sighed, glancing over at her husband. He let out a chuckle, removing his glasses and resting it on the bedside table.
“He sure has, I know you’ve been enjoying seeing him all flustered, but imagine what he’s going to be like when (Y/n) does come back.” and the two started giggling with each other.
“Oh lord, I hope we get a video of it. (Y/n)’s done a number on him, haven’t they.” She agreed.
“Dude what does (Y/n) mean by ‘news’?? Do they not know how rude it is to just leave someone on a cliff hanger like that?! And then we have to wait a whole day to find out the answer?! This is a sick game.” Denki whined from the other couch across from them. Him and the rest of the group were in his house just waiting around.
“You know what can get your mind off of it?” Mitsuki laughed, looking up from the papers in her hand. Denki looked at her with hope dancing his eyes. “You kids can go do your jobs as heroes.” she stated and the way Denki’s face dropped at her answer made her stand up with a chuckle.
“Honestly, their flight is 10 hours. Instead of waiting in my house and torturing yourselves, go and find some criminals and stop eating my food!” she exclaimed before making her way to the kitchen.
“That’s cold Mrs. Katsuki’s Mom! But I mean if the city really needs me or whatever I guess I’ll go.” Denki playfully rolled his eyes before getting off the sofa. The rest of them followed suit and before they could make their way towards the door, “Yeah yeah, here are some snacks for the road! Be safe!” they all took the cookies from her hands and waved thanks before leaving.
It was an excruciating 10 hours, not only for Katsuki with the waiting around while he got bored fighting criminals, but also for you, who’s ass was feeling numb due to sitting for so long. The little ‘ding dong’ from the pilot’s intercom rang.
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen, we have at last reached our destination here at Air Japan, we now ask that you put on your seat belts and give us a few moments to get everyone landed safely.” and with that, the sound of everyone’s seat belts clicked into place as the plane began its descent.
“Welcome to Tokyo International Airport, our flight attendants will help with carry-ons, all luggage can be found at baggage claim on the lower floor, thank you for flying with Air Japan.” and everyone was bumbling to get their stuff to get off the plane.
It wasn’t until you were walking through the exit tunnel that your heart started palpitating, you could feel it in your palms as you were gripping your bag. The deep breath that filled your lungs did little to help with the nervousness in your steps as you got closer to the entrance.
What am I so worried about? I saw these guys on Katsuki’s birthday when they all flew over. Why am I nervous to see them all again now?
You made your way down a level to get the large suitcase that arrived separately before looking around for your large group of friends. You thought you should call one of them but then a flash of blond hair caught your eye.
Through the other side of the glass wall was Katsuki, just Katsuki, staring back at you with a faint smile resting on his face. You took another deep breath before making your way towards him, but you barely got three steps outside before he threw himself onto you. His arms wrapped itself around you, pulling you into his embrace. His nose took in your scent as if it was the one thing keeping him from falling.
“You’re here, finally.” he grumbled into your hair and that was all it took for you to wrap your arms around him too. The two of you stood there for a good minute, arms not wanting to let the other go. He reluctantly did when the sound of a honking taxi ruined the moment.
“It’s good to be back..” you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding, and the next inhale you took in was filled with his intoxicating cologne.
“Come on, you must be tired, let’s get you back home.” he brought you to his car and when the passenger’s door was open, there was a gift bag resting on the seat. You made eye contact with him as he went around to the driver’s side.
“It was supposed to be the gift for you when you left. I told you I’d keep it until you came back.” he smirked before you both settled into the car. He motioned for you to take the gift out and you took no time reaching in.
The soft fabric made contact with your fingertips before you pulled it out. In your hands rested a vermilion knitted scarf. On both ends of it were embroidered the explosion flares that matched the ones on the back of his hero mask. You couldn’t help the grin that came to your face when you saw it.
“You did this?” and you knew the answer before that question left your mouth.
“Yeah…it took a bit longer than I’d like to admit. I wanted you to have it since Canada tends to be colder than here. It killed me when I couldn’t give it to you before you left.” he explained before starting the car.
“Well, lucky I came back when it’s starting to get cold again huh?” The smile you sent him eased his worries as the car started taking off.
The two of you were silent for a few minutes, only the soft music playing was heard.
“So- where is everyone else? From your messages I thought everyone was coming?” you broke the silence.
“Oh, they figured you’d be exhausted from the new time adjustment so they’ll let you rest until tomorrow,” he answered.
“By the way, Izuku thought since I was the one picking you up, that you should stay with us? We have your guest bedroom all set up if you’re okay with it..” he added, his eyes not wanting to meet yours in case you rejected the offer.
“That sounds good. I really need to sleep in a familiar place tonight.” you didn’t know how tired you were until a yawn escaped you, and the soft music wasn’t helping at keeping you awake. Before you knew it, you were passed out in Katsuki’s car to the feeling of his steady driving and the passing road signs.
When he parked, Katsuki knew he had to be gentle, let you get as much rest as you could. He went over to the passenger’s side and hooked his arms under you to carry you out. His dad opened the front door for him (he heard the car pull in and the driver’s doors shutting) and went to help bring your stuff inside.
Katsuki brought you to the guest room and settled you down on the bed. Your unconscious self immediately wiggled further into the soft pillows as soon as he draped the blankets over you. Masaru left your bags on the floor at the end of the bed for you and the two left you alone to rest for the night.
When the next morning came around, you were disturbed from your sleep by the sound of loud yelling from the other side of the guest door.
“-Come on! It’s 1 in the afternoon! They’ve been asleep for 14 hours straight! I wanna see them!” that was Denki’s voice.
“Okay, just for that, you’ll be the last to see them. Leave my house.” Katsuki’s voice rang out. Denki laughed at his stern voice knowing he wasn’t serious. You mustered up the energy to get up, taking a moment to stretch, and going to open the door.
“(Y/N)!” Denki yelled before glomping you into a hug. You hugged back before meeting eyes with the rest of the group. Izuku was the next one to be hugged.
“I’m glad you got back alright.” Shinsou grinned before going in for his hug. One by one, everyone else got a hug too and they all let you freshen up before you met them all downstairs, meeting Mitsuki and Masaru’s hugs on the way.
“So! What’s the big news that you wanted to tell us? I’ve been on the edge all day.” Denki asks as soon as you sit down in between Shoto and Katsuki on the big couch.
“Well, I got promoted at my firm! They want me to supervise the junior designers!” you exclaimed, but the grin on your face slowly disappeared when their faces didn’t show any excitement as you’d hoped. Bakugou could feel his heart steeling up to hear you say what he dreaded.
“Does that mean…you’ll be there permanently?” Shoto asked, the frown on his face only making his puppy eyes more heartbreaking.
“That’s the best part! They’re transferring me to their newest branch right here in Japan! I’m staying here!” and that was when they roared to life with cheers. Bakugou felt his heart settle down with joy.
“WHY DIDN’T YOU START WITH THAT! I WAS ABOUT TO CRY!” Izuku yelled from his seat. And for the next several hours, you all spent the time talking to each other about everything that’s happened in the past two years. Katsuki couldn’t get the smile off his face, not that he wanted to in the first place.
When the evening came, you all separated ways, making sure to make plans to hang out soon to make up for lost time.
“Want to take a walk with me?” Katsuki asked, his hand holding the scarf he made you. You nodded before going to put on your shoes. He gently wrapped the scarf around your neck before you two went to take in the November air.
The sound of wind whistling through the autumn leaves accompanied you two for a few minutes.
“Hey, do you mind if I read you something? I don’t think there’s a better time than now…” he trailed off, fumbling with something from his pocket. You nodded, watching him pull out a small envelope with a card inside, and you swore you could hear him taking deep breaths to calm himself.
“Racking my brain for many days and many nights, For the right words to describe the way you make me feel. Like the fireplace warmth on a cold winter night, Like the first bite of food after starving for a meal,
Like discovering a new bloom On a long lasting plant. If I don’t say it now,  I might lose the chance.
(Y/n), I’m in love with you, I’ll say it a million times over if I must, I’ll wait forever if that’s what it takes, For me to gain back your trust.”
His voice wavered as he read over what he wrote for you two years ago. And the two of you stopped walking as he finished. His stomach was on fire and it shows through the heavy blush on his face (He blames the cold weather).
“Did you write that?” you asked, not looking over to him, your breathing was stilled, not wanting to believe your ears.
“I did. I meant to give it to you with the scarf.” he cast his eyes down at his shoes. He prayed to anything that was holy that you still had some feelings for him, that he still had a chance to make it right, that he hadn’t lost you.
“Do you mean it?” your voice was so quiet, he almost missed the question.
“Every word.” was his immediate answer.
He was done being stupid. He was done denying his feelings for you. He was done with his massive ego that almost cost your friendship.
“(Y/n), if you don’t feel the same way for me anymore, I completely understand. I royally messed up and I hurt you. But if some part of you still feels the same way, please give me the chance to show you how much you mean to me.” he stumbled and walked to stand in front of you. His movement had you looking up and making contact with his red eyes that had determination written all over.
“I just, don’t want to risk getting hurt again if this is a spur of the moment thing.” you explained to him and he was quick to shake his head.
“No, I promise you I’d sooner allow Shinsou to use his quirk on me than to ever hurt you again. It’s not a spur of the moment, I’ve waited two years for you and I’ll wait even more if you need time.” His eyes were begging you to believe him, and you’d never seen him like this before.
It tugged at your heartstrings, it nipped at your fingertips, it engulfed you whole; how much you loved him.
“One date.” you held up a finger to him to indicate your point. And his eyes lit up. His heartbeat raced.
“One date. Okay, okay good, great. Thank you!” he nodded and before he knew it, he planted a kiss on your cheek when he came in for a hug. It took the both of you by surprise, but it wasn’t unwelcome, indicated by the blushes on your cheeks.
Although he didn’t have a day in mind yet, Katsuki was planning to make you feel special whenever the day may be, and all the days after that. Yes, Shoto has called him whipped at least 6 times already, but he didn’t care (because, yes, he is.) There’s not a chance in hell he’s messing this up, he’s completely and hopelessly enamored of you, it’s about time he expressed it don’t you think?
